- 0:27Speaker 2: I'm Megan, I'm Wendy, and today we're recapping The Way
- 0:31Speaker 2: Home episode eight Love Fool, which, by the way, is
- 0:35Speaker 2: a nineteen ninety six song from The Cardigans. If you'd
- 0:39Speaker 2: like to connect with us outside of the podcast, we'd
- 0:42Speaker 2: love for you to follow us on Instagram. We are
- 0:44Speaker 2: both at Megan and Wendy and at Girls Gone Hallmark.
- 0:48Speaker 1: You can also jump into our private Facebook group called
- 0:51Speaker 1: Girls Gone Hallmark. Nice community of people over there who
- 0:56Speaker 1: really enjoy Homemark.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Yes, we've had some new members recently, and welcome. Welcome.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Quick bit of Girls Gone Hamewark Housekeeping. Yeah, we had
- 1:08Speaker 2: briefly debated the idea of not recapping Homewark's new series Ride,
- 1:13Speaker 2: and then Fomo got us. I feel like I want
- 1:16Speaker 2: to be a part of that movement. I think the
- 1:20Speaker 2: Fomo got me. I think you were down for it
- 1:23Speaker 2: the whole time, but I was like, I'm just it's
- 1:27Speaker 2: a very busy time of year for me right now,
- 1:29Speaker 2: so like adding another show is like a lot, but
- 1:33Speaker 2: I'm going to do it. I'm gonna do it. The
- 1:35Speaker 2: previews look real good. I'm excited about it. It is
- 1:39Speaker 2: like The Girl's Gone Hallmark review. Recap turnarounds are tight,
- 1:43Speaker 2: which which doesn't help. Like we don't have a lot
- 1:46Speaker 2: of time, We can't spread them out, we can't record
- 1:48Speaker 2: them in advance. Although how does that being at Hamemark?
- 1:50Speaker 1: If you'd love to send us a screener, Yes, send
- 1:53Speaker 1: a girl a screener.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Jeez, Louise would changed my life.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I am sure some of our other podcast counterparts get screeners,
- 2:00Speaker 1: so got to why not us?
- 2:04Speaker 2: Why not us? Yeah? Do you have a synopsis for
- 2:07Speaker 2: Love Fool? I sure do.
- 2:09Speaker 1: When an old friend returns, Alice realizes her relationship has
- 2:13Speaker 1: no future, and Kat is shocked by family secrets. Delle
- 2:16Speaker 1: tries to take a chance with Byron. Okay, that's it?
- 2:19Speaker 2: Does she? Okay? Yeah? I think she shut that shit down.
- 2:24Speaker 2: But okay. We open on a foggy scene. Cat's running
- 2:28Speaker 2: through the woods. She's at the farmhouse, and it's not
- 2:30Speaker 2: quite clear what time period we're in yet, but uh,
- 2:34Speaker 2: it appears that why do I have no One's home
- 2:37Speaker 2: written down because no one wasn't that. She says, she
- 2:41Speaker 2: must say it, she have it in quotation marks.
- 2:43Speaker 3: She does.
- 2:44Speaker 2: She peeks in the window, she opens the door. At
- 2:48Speaker 2: this point, I'm like, oh, we're in the past and
- 2:51Speaker 2: she's just goldilocksing her way into this house. She takes
- 2:55Speaker 2: a jacket off the hook and sniffs it, which leads
- 2:57Speaker 2: me to believe it's Colton's jacket. Can I stop you?
- 3:00Speaker 1: Yeah, she sniffs a lot of stuff she does.
- 3:04Speaker 2: I mean, I can understand if she misses her dad
- 3:07Speaker 2: and whatever, and like she gets the essence of him.
- 3:09Speaker 2: But it's happened a lot in the last couple episodes.
- 3:13Speaker 2: This one makes more sense to me than the one
- 3:15Speaker 2: we got previously with twenty three year old Floael shirt
- 3:18Speaker 2: that is not going to retain the Colton essence any longer,
- 3:20Speaker 2: exactly exactly, you know, she's just kind of exploring. She
- 3:25Speaker 2: sees a backpack and then she sees the missing Child
- 3:29Speaker 2: posters on the table and has a flashback of looking
- 3:31Speaker 2: at those posters with her father, who is having a
- 3:34Speaker 2: hard time with them. She had upstairs into her room again,
- 3:38Speaker 2: we get another flashback of her listening to Alanis with Alice.
- 3:42Speaker 2: She heads into Jacob's room, another flashback of Jacob talking
- 3:46Speaker 2: about saving up his coins for the carnival, and downstairs
- 3:50Speaker 2: we hear Dell and Colton enter the house. And this
- 3:51Speaker 2: is the one I would be freaking out, seriously. I
- 3:54Speaker 2: having nightmares about like being in people's houses and them
- 3:57Speaker 2: coming home. Right, So this is the house exactly. She hides,
- 4:04Speaker 2: and you know they're arguing in dell is. It's clear
- 4:07Speaker 2: that Dale kind of wants Colton to let go a
- 4:09Speaker 2: little bit. She wants them to be able to move on.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Colton is clearly not ready. And we see Kat hiding
- 4:14Speaker 2: in the basement. I don't know how she got there.
- 4:15Speaker 2: And here's what's interesting. We hear Colton head downstairs and
- 4:19Speaker 2: Dell Yill's catt'll be home soon. Are you gonna tell
- 4:21Speaker 2: her what you're doing down there? What is he doing
- 4:23Speaker 2: down there?
- 4:24Speaker 3: Oh?
- 4:24Speaker 2: You didn't see no? Okay?
- 4:27Speaker 1: Well first I thought, like, does he have his own
- 4:29Speaker 1: murder board down there? But he had a cot down
- 4:32Speaker 1: there in the basement.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't even see Okay, So.
- 4:35Speaker 1: It appears to me that he's been sleeping in the basement.
- 4:38Speaker 1: And if Kat was unaware, got it, good job, good
- 4:42Speaker 1: getch thanks.
- 4:44Speaker 2: The argument continues. Colton heads back upstairs ask if they're
- 4:47Speaker 2: just supposed to pretend like everything's fine, and Colton bounces,
- 4:51Speaker 2: and we get the line that we see in the preview,
- 4:54Speaker 2: go ahead and leave. You both know you'd rather be
- 4:56Speaker 2: anywhere but here, and Oscar's Colton in his truck. Now,
- 5:00Speaker 2: let me ask you a question. Yeah, it feels.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Unfair of Dell to tell her husband that he needs
- 5:08Speaker 1: to give up or let it go, or stop looking
- 5:13Speaker 1: for his child who's been missing.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Don't you think? Yes?
- 5:20Speaker 1: I mean, people grieve all soorts of different ways, so
- 5:25Speaker 1: I'm gonna say that, but I just felt like, man,
- 5:28Speaker 1: let the man. He needs some closure.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Come on, Dell. Yeah, And they're clearly not in this together.
- 5:35Speaker 2: This isn't a moment that is connecting them. They're not
- 5:39Speaker 2: bonding together over the search for their son. This is
- 5:41Speaker 2: tearing them apart. And Dell wants to accept what the
- 5:45Speaker 2: town seems to believe is that he fell off the
- 5:47Speaker 2: cliff and was swept out to see and Colton is
- 5:51Speaker 2: not ready to accept that because there's no actual evidence
- 5:53Speaker 2: that that is what happened.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, obviously I've never been in this position before,
- 5:57Speaker 1: and I'm sure like a missing child or an ill
- 6:01Speaker 1: child or whatever scenario is very hard on a marriage.
- 6:07Speaker 2: For sure. And I do think there is a point
- 6:09Speaker 2: at which you need to perhaps live your life. I'm
- 6:12Speaker 2: not sure that point is three months after your childhood.
- 6:15Speaker 2: I I agree, agree, So we.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Get opening title, and then it's present day. Alice is
- 6:22Speaker 1: on the porch and Kat arrives home. Alice asks, what
- 6:26Speaker 1: are you doing? You said you were done.
- 6:27Speaker 2: With the pond.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Kat's clearly struggling, and she says she doesn't want to
- 6:31Speaker 1: talk about her right now and heads inside, and Kat
- 6:35Speaker 1: has a memory about Dell and Colton talking about Jacob's disappearance.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Yes, and downstairs, Dell and Byron entered the kitchen. Byron
- 6:44Speaker 2: is apparently going to stay with Dell to recuperate after
- 6:47Speaker 2: his bookshelf falling incident. Delle ask Kat to keep Byron company,
- 6:51Speaker 2: but Kat says, not going to do that, and she bounces, Yeah.
- 6:55Speaker 1: I think she's a little salty still from getting me
- 6:59Speaker 1: shitcase from her job.
- 7:01Speaker 2: So yeah, and she's dealing with like in her mind,
- 7:04Speaker 2: she's so focused on Dell and Colton. I think the
- 7:07Speaker 2: environ in her home is perhaps throwing that on top
- 7:10Speaker 2: of it. Yeah, exactly.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Kat goes outside and she's talking to Elliott about how
- 7:14Speaker 1: she went to the house back in ninety nine, which
- 7:18Speaker 1: is really two thousand.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Now all my notes say ninety nine, but I guess
- 7:23Speaker 2: it is two thousand. Allan's reaction is.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Pretty normal, like, that's a terrible idea, yes, and entered,
- 7:30Speaker 1: don't go in the house. She tells him how she
- 7:34Speaker 1: overheard Dell and Colton arguing, and he says that, you know,
- 7:38Speaker 1: Greef probably had a lot to do with their problems
- 7:41Speaker 1: and the relationship, and she's just really confused because she
- 7:45Speaker 1: thought they were a solid front and had this fairytale
- 7:47Speaker 1: romance and like if they couldn't get through it, who
- 7:51Speaker 1: who can?
- 7:53Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 7:53Speaker 2: And I take issue with that statement, because this is
- 7:56Speaker 2: not just the normal course of a marriage, right, It's
- 7:59Speaker 2: not like the normal bumps that a relationship has, like
- 8:04Speaker 2: they lost a child. It seems completely unremarkable to me
- 8:08Speaker 2: that their marriage would fall apart in the wake of that.
- 8:10Speaker 2: I agree. I agree, And to your point about it
- 8:12Speaker 2: being not nineteen ninety nine anymore. Elliott does say you
- 8:15Speaker 2: could have gone to two thousand to jail, like jail
- 8:18Speaker 2: in two thousand, did he really Sannah, I did not
- 8:24Speaker 2: catch that at all. That's funny. I just love He's
- 8:27Speaker 2: like just the I just loved him. He's like, you
- 8:30Speaker 2: are a strange woman in their house. You're not their daughter.
- 8:32Speaker 2: I just I really loved Elliot in that scene. Yeah,
- 8:35Speaker 2: that's funny. Back at the farmhouse in present day, Rita
- 8:38Speaker 2: drops by and Dell has this oh no reaction that
- 8:40Speaker 2: just makes me laugh out loud. And Rita is with
- 8:45Speaker 2: the Roxy ladies. I think their names are Joyce in June,
- 8:47Speaker 2: but they never say them in this I cannot remember.
- 8:50Speaker 2: I was like the Roxy friends, Yeah, I canot remember
- 8:54Speaker 2: their names. And they got word that Dell has a
- 8:57Speaker 2: house guest and they're there to spy, like fifteen year
- 8:59Speaker 2: old girls read A jokes that they're shocking up and
- 9:04Speaker 2: she offers them tea and they're like, I'm out a cocktail,
- 9:06Speaker 2: and apparently we cut to their sipping some drink. Byron
- 9:10Speaker 2: says it's something he used to make in Cobble. It's
- 9:12Speaker 2: totally unclear to me what the drink is. They're drinking
- 9:14Speaker 2: out of Mason Jars. I had to.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Rewind that scene because I thought he said Cobo c
- 9:19Speaker 1: abo and I was like, that's a weird drink from Mexico.
- 9:22Speaker 1: And then I saw I watched with the you know,
- 9:27Speaker 1: the captions, and I was like, oh, not Cobbo very
- 9:31Speaker 1: much not.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Alice comes downstairs and Dell tries to get Alice to
- 9:38Speaker 2: join them, and Alice doesn't want to, and the old
- 9:40Speaker 2: ladies immediately assume boy trouble, like Alice has not said
- 9:43Speaker 2: three words, and they start meddling in her love life,
- 9:46Speaker 2: and they get her to sit down and join them
- 9:48Speaker 2: for a game of poker, and the next.
- 9:50Speaker 1: Time we have cat walking through the woods forest I
- 9:54Speaker 1: don't know what to call this area of land, and
- 9:57Speaker 1: she's having memories of Colton and del being happy together,
- 10:00Speaker 1: and we see her gazing into the pond, like is
- 10:04Speaker 1: she gonna go back?
- 10:05Speaker 2: She gotta go back? We cut again. Yeah, we cut
- 10:09Speaker 2: back to poker and Alice plays a royal flush and
- 10:11Speaker 2: a few seconds later she's like, I didn't say I
- 10:13Speaker 2: wasn't good. I just said I wasn't into it. Byron
- 10:16Speaker 2: asks Alice some questions about her music, and Rita wants
- 10:19Speaker 2: Alice to play at the grand opening of the Roxy,
- 10:23Speaker 2: which apparently is reopening as those sort of music joint,
- 10:26Speaker 2: and the ladies want to hear Alex play and we
- 10:30Speaker 2: get a knock at the door. Wait.
- 10:34Speaker 1: I want to hold on because this scene had me
- 10:38Speaker 1: interested in a few details. Okay, First of all, they
- 10:42Speaker 1: talk about new owners at the Roxy, and you hear
- 10:46Speaker 1: Dell say like, oh, I don't know if we're even
- 10:48Speaker 1: gonna support that, And I.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Was like, that's weird. Why wouldn't They're a small business
- 10:53Speaker 2: struggling for you know, consumerism.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Why wouldn't you support a new local business.
- 10:59Speaker 2: I thought that was weird.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Second, it was really cute because the old Roxy owners they.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Didn't care if they were having a new owner. And
- 11:06Speaker 2: then they smooched and I was like, yeah, yeah, I
- 11:10Speaker 2: did like that too. Yeah, and Dell like they didn't
- 11:13Speaker 2: shut down because they went out of business, like they
- 11:15Speaker 2: voluntarily retired and sold the Roxy to new owners, Like
- 11:19Speaker 2: you want your town to have a thriving business. I'm not.
- 11:22Speaker 1: I just thought it was so bizarre, Like I'm like,
- 11:25Speaker 1: is Zach gonna are we gonna? Are we laying the
- 11:28Speaker 1: foundation for something else in the future, But we'll see,
- 11:32Speaker 1: we'll see. Like you said, somebody was at the door,
- 11:36Speaker 1: Alice opens it. There's a man with his back turned
- 11:39Speaker 1: to her, but with a familiar jacket. I guess who
- 11:41Speaker 1: turns around is Nick?
- 11:44Speaker 2: And Alice is stunned. Yeah, I wrote Alice's flabber casted.
- 11:51Speaker 1: She's like, oh, you got old?
- 11:55Speaker 2: What do you think about adult nick casting? Spot on? Yeah? Yeah,
- 12:00Speaker 2: spot on, pretty spot on. We cut to Alice talking
- 12:05Speaker 2: to Cat about Nick, and Kat is a little relieved
- 12:07Speaker 2: that Nick didn't remember her, but Alice is broken hearted
- 12:11Speaker 2: that he didn't remember her, and she talks about how
- 12:15Speaker 2: unfair it is that she and Nick were doomed from
- 12:18Speaker 2: the start, and she mentions her first love and Kat
- 12:25Speaker 2: says she'll take care of it and mentions, like, you know.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Alice's like, I think I need to go and Kat
- 12:31Speaker 2: gos be with your best friend and Kat goes back
- 12:33Speaker 2: to nineteen eighty nine. Ali Alix back Yeah, like, Kat
- 12:36Speaker 2: gives her the okay, go ahead, go time travel. I'll
- 12:39Speaker 2: see you later girl.
- 12:41Speaker 1: So such so weird storyline. Okay, anyway, Kat comes into
- 12:48Speaker 1: the house and Nick greets Cat. She wants to know
- 12:51Speaker 1: how long he's in town for and if Elliott knows
- 12:53Speaker 1: he's in town and he says, hey, yeah, we're all
- 12:56Speaker 1: going out, and Kat's clearly concerned because she's worried that
- 13:02Speaker 1: he's gonna put the Alices together, you know, like he's
- 13:06Speaker 1: gonna figure it out.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Yeah. Back in the year two thousand, Alice arrives at
- 13:10Speaker 2: Kat's house. Dlan Colton are at opposite ends of the
- 13:12Speaker 2: table and not talking, although they are lovely to Alice.
- 13:16Speaker 2: They offer her dinner so it's nice to see her,
- 13:20Speaker 2: and upstairs, Kat apologizes for her parents' behavior. Alanis Morisa
- 13:25Speaker 2: is playing in the background. We're a few years late
- 13:28Speaker 2: on this, like this is like a nineteen ninety six album,
- 13:32Speaker 2: but it doesn't matter. And Kat says she can't wait
- 13:35Speaker 2: to get out of the portn things are not good here.
- 13:37Speaker 2: She's gonna apply to college to be closer to Brady.
- 13:40Speaker 2: And this is the weirdest. It's not. The scene itself
- 13:44Speaker 2: is not weird, but when you start thinking about it,
- 13:46Speaker 2: it gets really weird because Kat, they say, like, I'd
- 13:48Speaker 2: love to be able to talk to you when you're
- 13:50Speaker 2: not here. And Kat asked, Alice, did your dad let
- 13:52Speaker 2: you get the internet yet? And Alice says no, but
- 13:55Speaker 2: y'all you have landlines. These existed in two thousand. We
- 13:59Speaker 2: still call people on the phone. I had a corded
- 14:03Speaker 2: phone in my dorm room in college and people left
- 14:05Speaker 2: voicemails like we called people.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't understand why Kat isn't like, why can't
- 14:11Speaker 1: I have your phone number.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Like like your mom's house and your dad's.
- 14:14Speaker 1: House and I can talk to you or spoiler alert,
- 14:18Speaker 1: here's my page, your number page me and maybe whatever. Anyway, Yes,
- 14:24Speaker 1: and then Kat says you're the only person I know
- 14:27Speaker 1: who's not on.
- 14:28Speaker 2: ICQ, and whoa blast from the past, y'all. Yeah, see,
- 14:32Speaker 2: I have no idea what that is. I thought while
- 14:36Speaker 2: watching I was like, oh, they can't say AOL, but
- 14:40Speaker 2: what is ICQ? Oh? So it was a similar messaging service,
- 14:45Speaker 2: and it's the letters I c Q meant to mean I, S,
- 14:50Speaker 2: E E K. You get it. And it the alert
- 14:58Speaker 2: sound when you would get a message was.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Oh, oh interesting.
- 15:04Speaker 2: I have to say that I was in the in
- 15:07Speaker 2: two thousand and I was in college. We had ICQ was,
- 15:10Speaker 2: but I was much more of an AOL instant messenger user.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Anybody who had y cue vividly remembers that sound. It's
- 15:18Speaker 2: like Pavlovian. Yeah, I have no idea that's that's wild
- 15:23Speaker 2: Cat wants to go out and asks Alice about Nick,
- 15:27Speaker 2: and Alice says she thinks she should break up with Nick.
- 15:30Speaker 2: We cut to Carrie present day, Yeah, present day, and
- 15:34Speaker 2: we've got Kat and Nick and Elliott all together in
- 15:38Speaker 2: a in a bar in a karaoke bar, and Elliott
- 15:45Speaker 2: and Kat talk about Nick recognizing Alice while Nick is
- 15:48Speaker 2: off getting drinks, and Kat points out it's twenty three
- 15:50Speaker 2: years in the future. Twenty three years in the past
- 15:53Speaker 2: for Alice is happening right now, so it's like the
- 15:57Speaker 2: emotions are really strong for Alice. I want to say
- 16:03Speaker 2: right now, I did not believe that Nick didn't recognize Alice.
- 16:06Speaker 2: I just want to put that, Oh did you I
- 16:08Speaker 2: have notes? It's not there yet. I will tell you
- 16:11Speaker 2: when we get there. Why I think that? And Elliott
- 16:13Speaker 2: asked about Kat. She says she's not doing great mentions
- 16:18Speaker 2: the affair, and Nick comes back and it's like, who
- 16:21Speaker 2: Who's having an affair? And Kat's like cheerious to love
- 16:23Speaker 2: being a total sham.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Yeah, this is so this The whole scene was like
- 16:30Speaker 1: so weird to me because I don't I don't get
- 16:36Speaker 1: that the three of them were that close when they
- 16:38Speaker 1: were in high school.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Yeah, Like Nick only seemed be part of the group
- 16:42Speaker 2: because of Alice exactly. And then you know, but it's fine. Whatever.
- 16:47Speaker 2: Do I believe he even has a karaoke bar? I
- 16:49Speaker 2: don't think so, right, It's got to be like one
- 16:52Speaker 2: of their bars has a random karaoke night, like the
- 16:55Speaker 2: one bar in town. But we do know that Nick
- 16:57Speaker 2: was in Elliott's wedding, so they were friendly. Yes, okay, Yeah, we're.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Back in two thousand and Alison kat mate up with
- 17:05Speaker 1: Nick and Elliott at the point, and Alice wants to
- 17:08Speaker 1: talk to Nick alone.
- 17:12Speaker 2: You know what that means? Yeah, can we talk? Back
- 17:16Speaker 2: in present day, Dell and Byron are in the kitchen
- 17:18Speaker 2: and Byron jokes that Rita is nicer when she's drinking,
- 17:21Speaker 2: which also makes me laugh. And Delle asked Byron about
- 17:25Speaker 2: the head injuries he alluded to earlier, and he says
- 17:27Speaker 2: that they were the casualties of reporting from the front
- 17:29Speaker 2: line in Cobble, not Cobbo, and that is also how
- 17:34Speaker 2: his wife died, which is news to Dell. She did
- 17:37Speaker 2: not know that a he was married and b he
- 17:40Speaker 2: is a widower. Well, hold on a second, this man
- 17:43Speaker 2: has lived there for eight years and they've never had
- 17:45Speaker 2: a conversation with him.
- 17:46Speaker 1: About like, oh, why are you single? What brought you here?
- 17:49Speaker 1: Like what's your deal?
- 17:51Speaker 2: So there's so many moments throughout this show, especially in
- 17:56Speaker 2: the past couple of episodes, where it's like, have these
- 17:58Speaker 2: people been frozen in time right up until the moment
- 18:01Speaker 2: that Kat and Alice showed up? Right? I agree? And
- 18:06Speaker 2: then Byron says it didn't feel right to wear a
- 18:08Speaker 2: ring after her death. But we cut we see Dell,
- 18:12Speaker 2: you know, twisting her wedding ring around her finger. That
- 18:16Speaker 2: was it wasn't shade.
- 18:18Speaker 1: He was telling it from like his point of view,
- 18:20Speaker 1: you know, which is she.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Took it personally for sure. Yeah. I don't think he
- 18:24Speaker 2: was trying to like offend her. No, no, no, I
- 18:27Speaker 2: don't either.
- 18:29Speaker 1: We are back in two thousand at the point and
- 18:30Speaker 1: Alice and Nick are talking and she breaks things off
- 18:33Speaker 1: of them. He's not totally surprised because he said given
- 18:37Speaker 1: her like infrequent visits. She gives him the hook bracelet
- 18:43Speaker 1: back and says she wishes things could be different. Kat
- 18:47Speaker 1: and Elliott are at the counter and Cat's looking at
- 18:52Speaker 1: the new pager that Brady got her. I had like
- 18:54Speaker 1: a secret code that he misses her and I.
- 18:58Speaker 2: Was trying to remember back in the day of pagers.
- 19:01Speaker 2: I never had one, but I knew that there was codes.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Why are you I mean I didn't have a page.
- 19:08Speaker 2: I'm surprised I had a cell phone. I'm a lot
- 19:11Speaker 2: older than you. I had a cell phone too, but
- 19:14Speaker 2: it costs like ninety dollars a month for ten minutes.
- 19:17Speaker 2: I mean, it was not a regular use situation. I
- 19:21Speaker 2: just didn't have a need for a pager. Apparently nobody was,
- 19:25Speaker 2: you know, paging me secret love codes, so didn't wasn't necessary.
- 19:31Speaker 2: And I don't even remember like the codes only nine
- 19:34Speaker 2: to one one being an emergency. I don't remember anything
- 19:37Speaker 2: else beyond that, so I don't one four three is
- 19:40Speaker 2: I love you. But I do not remember any of
- 19:42Speaker 2: the other codes. But I do have a vivid memory
- 19:45Speaker 2: of texting in code. I couldn't tell you what they were,
- 19:48Speaker 2: but like paging people in code.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Back in present day, they're at the bar and Kat
- 19:52Speaker 1: is talking about how great mixed job is and how
- 19:55Speaker 1: wonderful it must be, and he says that, you know,
- 19:57Speaker 1: keeping relationships is hard, and she goes to ask if
- 20:00Speaker 1: he remembers their childhood friend named Alice. Nick says he
- 20:04Speaker 1: doesn't remember her, but that there's been so many women
- 20:07Speaker 1: in his past she doesn't stand out. Kat gets called
- 20:12Speaker 1: up to the stage for karaoke one of the I
- 20:15Speaker 1: guess it was Nick who signed her up.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Apparently. Yeah.
- 20:18Speaker 1: She gets up and she sings Alanis's Jagged Little Pillow
- 20:21Speaker 1: and I say, shout out, she has a great voice.
- 20:23Speaker 2: She sounded great. I was a little bit worried. She
- 20:26Speaker 2: sounded fantastic. Yeah.
- 20:28Speaker 1: During this time, where like now they're not watching their
- 20:31Speaker 1: friend on stage, Nick tells Elliott he's gotten engaged and
- 20:36Speaker 1: they talk about Kat a little bit and Nick asks
- 20:39Speaker 1: when Elliott is finally going to make a move on Cat.
- 20:43Speaker 1: And during this time, there's a montage we see Alice
- 20:47Speaker 1: come home post breakup, and she, you know, posts breakup
- 20:50Speaker 1: with Nick in two thousand and she lays on her
- 20:54Speaker 1: bed like all teenagers do, and then Dell is in
- 20:56Speaker 1: her bedroom taking off her wedding ring.
- 20:59Speaker 2: Does she take it off? I watched it and twisting
- 21:02Speaker 2: it around her finger, and I was like, did she
- 21:03Speaker 2: take it off? It's that's a good question. I don't know.
- 21:07Speaker 2: It just looks like having some thoughts about her wedding conjuring. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, Okay,
- 21:12Speaker 2: this past scene where you know, Nick says like Alice
- 21:14Speaker 2: didn't stand out. This is juck supposed right after the
- 21:18Speaker 2: previous scene where Alice breaks up with him, and when
- 21:22Speaker 2: Alice leaves, Nick looks heartbroken at that table. And my
- 21:25Speaker 2: thought in this moment where Nick's like, eh, she just
- 21:27Speaker 2: didn't stand out, we didn't know until thirty seconds before
- 21:30Speaker 2: that Alice is the one to officially end their relationship.
- 21:34Speaker 2: And I was like, I wonder if it's sour grapes.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Like Nick's like, screw this chick. She broke up with
- 21:39Speaker 2: me right anyway, So he's like, I'm not gonna act
- 21:44Speaker 2: like I remember her, Like, oh, she didn't affect me.
- 21:47Speaker 2: That was my thought. Anyway. Is that your clue that
- 21:49Speaker 2: you were talking about earlier? That's how That's what I felt. Yeah, yeah, okay. Anyway,
- 21:53Speaker 2: after the commercial break, Nick drops off Elliott and Cat
- 21:57Speaker 2: and Kat's worried about having to break the news to
- 21:59Speaker 2: Alice that Nick is engaged, and they joke about their
- 22:02Speaker 2: not being a handbook for this sort of thing, and
- 22:04Speaker 2: Elliott has a great line. He's like, yeah, it's kind
- 22:06Speaker 2: of a niche market. And again, this episode's pretty funny.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Kat's holding a giant pizza. Elliott asked if she's gonna share.
- 22:13Speaker 2: She says, of course not. They share a bit of
- 22:15Speaker 2: a moment. Elliott starts walking away and Kat yells at him,
- 22:18Speaker 2: would you just kiss me already? And Ellia goes right
- 22:21Speaker 2: now and Kat's like, well, let's do it before it
- 22:24Speaker 2: gets weird and it's a little too late for that,
- 22:26Speaker 2: and then Kat gets mean.
- 22:28Speaker 1: She is self sabotaging so hard in the scene, like
- 22:32Speaker 1: what are you doing? Just shut up and go inside,
- 22:34Speaker 1: god lady, and.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Elliott says, well, I'm not gonna do it while you're
- 22:38Speaker 2: yelling at me, and great point, Elliott, and then she
- 22:41Speaker 2: just tries to implode the entire thing and yells why
- 22:43Speaker 2: whisker friendship for something that's gonna end badly, and Elliott
- 22:47Speaker 2: looks heartbroken and says, I know you don't mean that
- 22:49Speaker 2: and end scene. Yeah, she was a real bitch, and
- 22:52Speaker 2: this scene, I gotta say.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Next morning, Alice comes into the bedroom and Kat is
- 22:59Speaker 1: brushing her hair and she tells Alice that Nick is engaged,
- 23:03Speaker 1: and Alice's real upset. Alice tells Kat she broke up
- 23:07Speaker 1: with her Nick the night before. Kat says she remembers.
- 23:12Speaker 1: And this is when my head cannot understand this time
- 23:16Speaker 1: travel stuff, because how does Kat remember that Alice broke
- 23:19Speaker 1: up with Nick? But Kat doesn't remember anything else prior
- 23:22Speaker 1: to this. Yeah, remember Alice was just a foggy memory.
- 23:26Speaker 2: Uh huh. That's a great point. So what, like what
- 23:30Speaker 2: am I supposed to just ignore that stuff? I don't
- 23:32Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Alice is hurt that adult Nick doesn't remember her, and
- 23:37Speaker 1: Kat consoles her and tells her that those feelings were special.
- 23:41Speaker 1: And Kat goes on to tell Alice that she's going
- 23:44Speaker 1: back to nineteen ninety nine, but doesn't want to give
- 23:46Speaker 1: her any details on why, and just to trust her.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I think these two needs she needs to be communicated. Well,
- 23:53Speaker 2: you know what, I take it back what, I'm not
- 23:55Speaker 2: sure that I would be telling Alice like, oh, I
- 23:57Speaker 2: think your grandfather was having an affair, but I gotta
- 23:59Speaker 2: go prove that. So yeah, come on, let's go be
- 24:02Speaker 2: buddies on this. You know, look'll get arrested together. Back
- 24:06Speaker 2: in two thousand, Dell is passive aggressively chopping wood. Clearly,
- 24:11Speaker 2: you know this is one of those like, oh, I
- 24:13Speaker 2: said I would do it She's like, I'm gonna do
- 24:14Speaker 2: it myself, and you know, she and Colton exchange words,
- 24:19Speaker 2: and off goes Colton once again. And Kat's peering around
- 24:22Speaker 2: the corner and how she has not been caught, Like
- 24:25Speaker 2: it's a farm. There's nobody else around. You don't notice
- 24:27Speaker 2: as other human, Like he can eat the truck trash
- 24:33Speaker 2: cans or something. Yeah, she hops in the back of
- 24:35Speaker 2: the truck. You're telling me she did that noiselessly, like
- 24:37Speaker 2: she's got to get under the tarp in the truck. Anyway,
- 24:39Speaker 2: She hops in the truck and off goes Colton, and
- 24:42Speaker 2: we then have.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Almost an identical scene present day Dell's chopping wood. Byron
- 24:49Speaker 1: comes out and he asks if she ever slows down,
- 24:52Speaker 1: and they have a little nice moment. He ends up
- 24:55Speaker 1: getting a splinter, which will lead to something else.
- 24:59Speaker 2: A little bit later on. Yeah, cut back to the
- 25:02Speaker 2: year two thousand. Colton pulls up in his truck to
- 25:05Speaker 2: the motel and he gets out and he joins a
- 25:08Speaker 2: man whose name is Morgan, who appears to be a
- 25:11Speaker 2: PI who tells Colton he has no new leads, and
- 25:14Speaker 2: Colton is arguing he does not want to accept that
- 25:17Speaker 2: there's no information he offers him more money. This becomes
- 25:20Speaker 2: very clear that this is where all the money has gone,
- 25:23Speaker 2: and the PI won't take it. He says, I can't
- 25:25Speaker 2: in good faith do that. There's the it's a dead
- 25:28Speaker 2: end and he leaves.
- 25:30Speaker 1: So, which here at this point again you have to
- 25:35Speaker 1: wonder where the hell is Jacob? Yeah, right, because I
- 25:40Speaker 1: think after the Carnival episode we kind of thought like, oh,
- 25:43Speaker 1: maybe this is the end of the story, like he's
- 25:46Speaker 1: just gone, right, But this is still bringing up more questions,
- 25:50Speaker 1: like now you have a PI who had looked and
- 25:53Speaker 1: Colton's correct. He's like, if he would have went over
- 25:56Speaker 1: the cliff, the ocean would have brought his body back
- 26:00Speaker 1: to shore.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a hard line to hear him say, I
- 26:04Speaker 2: know totally. So I have to now wonder like where
- 26:08Speaker 2: is Jacob? Who knows where is Jacob?
- 26:12Speaker 1: And I think this is the story is just going
- 26:14Speaker 1: to continue into season two of Looking for Jacob. And
- 26:18Speaker 1: this next thing, we're back in present day and Dell
- 26:20Speaker 1: is taking that splinter out of Byron's hand. They're sitting
- 26:23Speaker 1: in the kitchen at the kitchen table, and he says
- 26:25Speaker 1: nicely that he would like to kiss her, and she
- 26:29Speaker 1: ends up dropping like the needle or whatever she was
- 26:32Speaker 1: using to get the splinter out, and they like bump
- 26:35Speaker 1: heads and they have like this weird, super awkward interaction
- 26:38Speaker 1: and he wants to try again, and she tells him,
- 26:42Speaker 1: You're sitting in Colton's chair, and I was like, way
- 26:45Speaker 1: to kill the mood, Dell, like, what are you doing?
- 26:50Speaker 2: I mean, I mean, well.
- 26:52Speaker 1: We finally get some closure around her and Byron a
- 26:55Speaker 1: little bit later in this episode, But I thought she
- 26:59Speaker 1: has been flirred with Byron for since episode one, truthfully.
- 27:05Speaker 2: And now she's decided she's like not into it. Yeah,
- 27:08Speaker 2: she invited him to stay in her home. He's clearly
- 27:11Speaker 2: not incapable of caring for himself, so she had to
- 27:16Speaker 2: have done that out of some sort of affection for him.
- 27:18Speaker 2: But this is another one of those has time stood
- 27:22Speaker 2: still because it's twenty three years later, This seems like
- 27:25Speaker 2: an outsized reaction to someone wanting to kiss you apps
- 27:29Speaker 2: freaking lutely, Like six months later, sure, a year later, sure,
- 27:32Speaker 2: twenty three years later, you maybe have accepted, like it's
- 27:36Speaker 2: okay to kiss another person. Yeah, it's okay to move on,
- 27:39Speaker 2: especially she's mad at Colton, right, So not that that's
- 27:46Speaker 2: any excuse to but still it's okay to move on.
- 27:50Speaker 2: M hmm. This scene cuts to Alice at the point
- 27:54Speaker 2: with Zoe and Spencer and they're holding hands. Told you
- 27:58Speaker 2: we did get a message on Instagram and someone says
- 28:02Speaker 2: that in episode one they introduced each other at like
- 28:05Speaker 2: Zoe is his girlfriend?
- 28:06Speaker 1: Okay, as I thought, but Spencer has not been. He
- 28:13Speaker 1: made Alic's dinner in the last episode or something. So yes,
- 28:18Speaker 1: zoey on another show? Is that why she's not in
- 28:21Speaker 1: every episode with Spencer? Is Zoe time traveling too?
- 28:25Speaker 2: Yeah? Alice gets up from the table to get something
- 28:29Speaker 2: and she bumps into old Nick congratulates him on his engagement.
- 28:33Speaker 2: They have a bit of an awkward encounter, and back
- 28:37Speaker 2: at the table, Zoe asks about the hot older guy. Yeah,
- 28:40Speaker 2: that was weird and she couldn't be like she had
- 28:44Speaker 2: just been telling them that she broke up with Nick,
- 28:47Speaker 2: this guy who lived out of town. She couldn't be like,
- 28:49Speaker 2: that's my mom's friend Nick. Yeah.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Yeah, They're like, what is that the dude you've been
- 28:54Speaker 1: seeing back in two thousand colts reading the PI Dasi
- 29:00Speaker 1: on his boat and he's crying. He gets up and
- 29:03Speaker 1: puts the paperwork, texts it away in the boat and
- 29:06Speaker 1: Dell comes out.
- 29:07Speaker 2: To talk to Colton and it's cold.
- 29:09Speaker 1: She gives him a jacket to put on, and you know,
- 29:12Speaker 1: she's telling him at this time like it's close to
- 29:14Speaker 1: dinner or whatever. And she walks away and he yells out,
- 29:17Speaker 1: I love you, Delilah, And this scene breaks my heart
- 29:21Speaker 1: because she pauses and then keeps walking like never turns
- 29:24Speaker 1: around back to look at him.
- 29:26Speaker 2: Yeah, this is such a misconnection because she came out
- 29:29Speaker 2: with the jacket like she was doing a loving thing
- 29:33Speaker 2: for him. He returns that emotion, but they're not able
- 29:37Speaker 2: to really receive those things. Yeah, that was hard. Present
- 29:43Speaker 2: day Cat approaches Elliott, who's outside raking, and what I
- 29:48Speaker 2: really like is the last scene they had together is
- 29:50Speaker 2: her yelling at him. He's kind of upset by her words,
- 29:53Speaker 2: but when she rushes up soaking wet, he's like, what
- 29:56Speaker 2: are you doing? It's freezing you nut Like he's kind
- 29:58Speaker 2: of sweet to her still in this moment, and she
- 30:01Speaker 2: says she knew it wasn't another woman in the past,
- 30:03Speaker 2: it was a PI And he gives wet Cat his
- 30:07Speaker 2: jacket and Cat kisses Elliott. She's not waiting anymore. And
- 30:12Speaker 2: it's a great kiss.
- 30:14Speaker 1: It's like I wrote down, this ain't your regular hallmark kiss.
- 30:17Speaker 2: Wow, Elliot's glasses get knocked all over his face. I mean,
- 30:23Speaker 2: it's just a gorgeous scene.
- 30:24Speaker 1: There's gold gorgeous, like golden Hour with the sun, and
- 30:28Speaker 1: it's like a pretty intense kiss.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Kat says, I don't care about perfect I just didn't
- 30:35Speaker 2: want us to miss our moment. And then she says
- 30:37Speaker 2: he has to go, and Elliot's like, what yeah, throws
- 30:41Speaker 2: his hands up in a bit of a victory celebration.
- 30:43Speaker 2: Great scene. What was he expecting?
- 30:46Speaker 1: He wanted her to stay and make out some more,
- 30:48Speaker 1: maybe and maybe.
- 30:49Speaker 2: More Like what what it was?
- 30:53Speaker 1: It was a funny scene that his reaction at the
- 30:55Speaker 1: end there was great. I thought we cut to a commercial.
- 30:58Speaker 1: And then when we come back where present day, Cat's
- 31:00Speaker 1: looking through the boat for the dossier that I'm sorry,
- 31:04Speaker 1: the dossier that Colton had stashed. Of course it's still there,
- 31:08Speaker 1: twenty three years freaking.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Later, nobody's gone through the boat and all this time
- 31:12Speaker 2: again time has stood still, right, she opens it.
- 31:15Speaker 1: In the next scene, she's showing Dell, and Dell's asking like,
- 31:20Speaker 1: where did you find this Catherine. She's clearly upset with her.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Kat explains that Colman wasn't having an affair, that he
- 31:28Speaker 1: was just hurting and he'd spent all their money on
- 31:30Speaker 1: a PI, and Dell just shut it down. She stands
- 31:33Speaker 1: firm that there was another woman, and she says, because
- 31:37Speaker 1: the woman showed up at Colton's funeral and she saw
- 31:39Speaker 1: her with her own eyes.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Yeah, and this is where your theory. I one hundred
- 31:44Speaker 2: percent believe is true that it was Cat at the funeral.
- 31:47Speaker 2: But how does Dell not realize that that woman was
- 31:52Speaker 2: her daughter? I do think she has a strong vision
- 31:57Speaker 2: of what that woman looked like. Yeah, her own daughter,
- 32:01Speaker 2: I know, but it wasn't her. It was her daughter
- 32:04Speaker 2: twenty three years in the future.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Okay, then, how is Nick supposed to remember a girl
- 32:08Speaker 1: from twenty three years ago in the past.
- 32:11Speaker 2: Well, but here's the difference. Alice is the exact same
- 32:16Speaker 2: person that Nick knew in the past, right, Like they're identical.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Dell had never seen so when Nick sees Alice in
- 32:26Speaker 2: the future, he has seen her before. I understand Dell
- 32:29Speaker 2: sees Cat in the past, she's never seen her before.
- 32:32Speaker 2: So it's just this woman that she doesn't have any
- 32:35Speaker 2: frame of reference, and I don't think here's that some
- 32:37Speaker 2: sort of mother's intuition. I don't know. Cat never asked
- 32:41Speaker 2: Alice for her phone number.
- 32:42Speaker 1: So yeah, so you know we're picking up heart little
- 32:49Speaker 1: things here. But okay, and present day, Nick and Elliott,
- 32:53Speaker 1: they are saying goodbye. Nick's leaving town, back off to
- 32:57Speaker 1: his fiance, and Alice is lurking in the bushes like mother,
- 33:02Speaker 1: like daughter. Nick explains to Elliott that he'd actually lied
- 33:07Speaker 1: to Kat the other night about remembering Alice. He tells
- 33:10Speaker 1: Elliott that Kat's Alice reminds him of old Alice, but
- 33:15Speaker 1: thinks it's creepy and didn't want to say anything to Kat,
- 33:18Speaker 1: and Alice, who is obviously at earshot, seems very pleased
- 33:23Speaker 1: with this new information.
- 33:25Speaker 2: Yeah, because he says, you never forget your first love.
- 33:28Speaker 2: And I think that's all she needed to know that
- 33:31Speaker 2: it was mutual. He loved her too, And yeah, it'd
- 33:33Speaker 2: be super creepy to be like, as a forty year
- 33:36Speaker 2: old man, your fifteen year old daughter reminds me of
- 33:38Speaker 2: a girl I loved in high school. Yeah, he's not wrong.
- 33:41Speaker 1: I'd be like, you're leaving now, thank you? So Now
- 33:46Speaker 1: I wonder if this is going to open the door
- 33:48Speaker 1: to Spencer. Now Kat has now had closure on Nick,
- 33:52Speaker 1: so perhaps now we're going to explore the Spencer situation
- 33:57Speaker 1: home wrecker Alice yikes, that's fired.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Well, I mean he has a girlfriend, although Spencer is
- 34:04Speaker 2: really the one who needs to be received. Yes. At
- 34:07Speaker 2: the farmhouse, Delle finds Byron packing. He says she doesn't
- 34:11Speaker 2: have a room for him, and clearly he means in
- 34:13Speaker 2: her heart, not in her home. He says, you need
- 34:16Speaker 2: to heal and accept things, and Delle thanks him for
- 34:20Speaker 2: man explaining grief to her. But come on, Delle, he's
- 34:23Speaker 2: not wrong, right, you have not fully healed. And Delle says,
- 34:29Speaker 2: you shouldn't have to try so hard if it's the
- 34:31Speaker 2: right person, And ouch, I really wanted it to be Byron.
- 34:35Speaker 1: Yeah, me too. But Delle's just all wrong in this situation.
- 34:41Speaker 1: It makes it makes me not like her in this episode.
- 34:43Speaker 2: Yeah. This and her reaction to Kat with the PI dossier,
- 34:48Speaker 2: both those really bumped her down for me. I agree.
- 34:52Speaker 1: Alice and Kat on the porch and they're talking and
- 34:55Speaker 1: Kat's looking at the dossier and Alice wants to know
- 34:57Speaker 1: if Kat got more answers, but she tells her it's
- 35:01Speaker 1: led to more questions. We see Byron come outside. He
- 35:06Speaker 1: tells the girls to be good to Dell, and he
- 35:09Speaker 1: gets into a cab.
- 35:11Speaker 2: We're in a.
- 35:12Speaker 1: Small freaking town. No one can drive this man home.
- 35:15Speaker 1: Rita can't come over and get him. He has no
- 35:18Speaker 1: other friends. What is happening? He drives away in the
- 35:21Speaker 1: cab and Dell's out on the porch. Now she's watching
- 35:25Speaker 1: the cab drive away, and then has a flashback memory
- 35:28Speaker 1: seen to Colton's truck driving away.
- 35:31Speaker 2: Yeah. And my first reaction to those comparisons are like,
- 35:35Speaker 2: that's not fair, right, But she drove them both away.
- 35:40Speaker 2: She was pushing them both away, So I felt like
- 35:42Speaker 2: it wasn't fair to compare Byron to Colton. But I
- 35:45Speaker 2: think it is fair to compare them and that those
- 35:48Speaker 2: were a direct result of her actions.
- 35:50Speaker 1: They both care for her and she just pushes them away.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Yeah. Question, when Dell tells Kat that there was another
- 36:00Speaker 2: woman at the funeral, why doesn't Cat assume that it's her?
- 36:05Speaker 2: Like Kat still seems to be really grappling with what
- 36:07Speaker 2: it means to be a time traveler, Like when she
- 36:11Speaker 2: arrives at the carnival and drops a bike on the
- 36:13Speaker 2: ground and turns around and she's like, whoa, it was me.
- 36:15Speaker 2: I was here all the time. Okay, now that we
- 36:17Speaker 2: have that realization, mm hm, why isn't it occurring to
- 36:21Speaker 2: you that you're also in these future moments anyway? No,
- 36:25Speaker 2: you're right. This is where I'm like, my cat, I
- 36:29Speaker 2: don't understand, get a little bit of a preview of
- 36:37Speaker 2: some rough moments coming and Alice having to live through
- 36:42Speaker 2: the loss of her grandfather, Kat having to relive that.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Yes, and there's a scene where Colton opens the door
- 36:49Speaker 1: and Kat is standing there and I told you two
- 36:52Speaker 1: episodes ago she's gonna be the quote unquote other woman.
- 36:56Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean I think that's her at the funeral too.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Based on that, But.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Since let's talk about Homie of the Week, Yeah, go
- 37:03Speaker 1: for it. I think it is adult Cat Landry.
- 37:09Speaker 2: Yeah, that's her two time two timer, first two time.
- 37:14Speaker 1: Homie of the week, just because you know, she's trying
- 37:17Speaker 1: to clear Colton's name, and she's also.
- 37:23Speaker 2: What else does she do?
- 37:25Speaker 1: Well, she's a great mom. She really shows up for
- 37:27Speaker 1: Alice here. You're right, she's really connecting with Alice here. Finally, finally,
- 37:31Speaker 1: those two had been really missing each other, you know,
- 37:34Speaker 1: finally they're on the same page.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Yeah. That conversation they have while she's brushing Alice's hair
- 37:39Speaker 2: is really sweet and really hard as the mom to
- 37:41Speaker 2: have to be like, I'm gonna say this to you
- 37:43Speaker 2: and it's gonna suck, but it's information that you need
- 37:45Speaker 2: and I'm here for you. And I just really like
- 37:49Speaker 2: mom kat as mom in this show.
- 37:51Speaker 1: I agree, and I'm finally glad that like she went
- 37:54Speaker 1: for it with Elliott.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Yes, yes, an excellent Another excellent point for Homie of
- 37:59Speaker 2: the Week.
- 38:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:01Speaker 2: Notice in the nineties, I mean we got the PA
- 38:05Speaker 2: and the arts observed in the ats yep pager, we
- 38:14Speaker 2: got ICQ. Yeah, anything else we got alanis Yeah, not
- 38:20Speaker 2: that many this week? Not that many enough. The creators
- 38:24Speaker 2: of this show clearly like music, like they've made both
- 38:30Speaker 2: the titles of the episodes and the music within the
- 38:32Speaker 2: episodes really key to the show, which I am enjoying. Yeah,
- 38:36Speaker 2: they're getting the rights to these actual songs. Yes, Mitya,
- 38:40Speaker 2: all right, two more episodes of The Way Home. I
- 38:43Speaker 2: think you're right, we're gonna have more questions than answers
- 38:45Speaker 2: about Jacob, specifically at the end.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Of this I mean they can't they can't answer it.
- 38:49Speaker 1: By the end of the season.
- 38:51Speaker 2: No, we were so focused on like the ride up
- 38:54Speaker 2: to Colton's death, that I think there's gonna be a
- 38:59Speaker 2: lot left unset. I do want to say that. What
- 39:01Speaker 2: I think about this episode is Kat all along had
- 39:04Speaker 2: felt like her parents were blaming her for the loss
- 39:07Speaker 2: of Jacob and they were shutting her out. And what
- 39:09Speaker 2: I feel like it seems clear is happening to me
- 39:12Speaker 2: is they're not so much blaming her as they're so
- 39:15Speaker 2: stuck in their own muck that they cannot see that
- 39:20Speaker 2: their daughter still needs them as well. Like they're so
- 39:22Speaker 2: tied up in the mess that is their relationship and
- 39:25Speaker 2: trying to figure out how to navigate that moving forward,
- 39:27Speaker 2: and Kat's just kind of getting lost in the shuffle.
- 39:30Speaker 2: That's what I think, you.
- 39:31Speaker 1: Know what I'm kind of afraid of. I hope they
- 39:33Speaker 1: don't start time traveling to different eras in the future.
- 39:38Speaker 2: Oh yeah, Like I don't want them to go back, like,
- 39:40Speaker 2: you know, back to the future when they go to
- 39:42Speaker 2: the Western Days or whatever, you know, Alice and Kat, Like,
- 39:48Speaker 2: as far as we know, Alice was Kat's high school
- 39:50Speaker 2: best friend, like they don't go to college together? Yeah right,
- 39:55Speaker 2: What is going to happen? I don't know. Lots of questions,
- 39:58Speaker 2: so many questions. Make sure to come back next week
- 40:00Speaker 2: for a brand new recap. Thanks for listening. We'd love
- 40:02Speaker 2: to have you in our Facebook group. We will be
- 40:05Speaker 2: back on Friday with a brand new Girls Gone Hallmark
- 40:08Speaker 2: Bonus review. See you then, Bye bye,
