- 1:23Speaker 1: to listen to us today. I'm the host, Brandon Kudo,
- 1:26Speaker 1: as always, going to look ahead to what should be
- 1:28Speaker 1: a fun final Friday Night face off here gearing up
- 1:31Speaker 1: for the OSHL Playoffs between the Windsor Spitfires and the
- 1:34Speaker 1: London Knights in a bitter Western Conference battle. Canada Life
- 1:38Speaker 1: Place is going to be the sight of it tomorrow night,
- 1:39Speaker 1: one of the best buildings in all of junior hockey.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Spitfires coming into town. They're going to be the looking
- 1:44Speaker 1: to hold the West Division title, currently holding the second
- 1:48Speaker 1: seed in the West, the Nights fighting with the Sue
- 1:51Speaker 1: Greyhounds for whole ice in the first round, and they're
- 1:55Speaker 1: gonna be tough four or five matchup. At the moment
- 1:58Speaker 1: of recording this, obviously, the Spitfires are one point up
- 2:02Speaker 1: on the Flint Firebirds for the West Division title. Whatever
- 2:05Speaker 1: team does not win is gonna most likely be the
- 2:08Speaker 1: three seed, with the Kitchener Rangers taking the number one
- 2:11Speaker 1: seed overall in the Western Conference. So this game for
- 2:14Speaker 1: Windsor is gonna be big obviously, with them trying to
- 2:17Speaker 1: make sure they're the number two seed with home iice
- 2:20Speaker 1: advantage over anybody not named Kitchener for the upcoming playoff run,
- 2:24Speaker 1: and then London right now currently one point up on
- 2:27Speaker 1: the Sue Greyhounds. Those two to two teams are gonna
- 2:29Speaker 1: face each other, but again it's just gonna be based
- 2:32Speaker 1: off of the seeding there with what team's gonna get
- 2:35Speaker 1: home ice between Sue and London. So big one coming
- 2:38Speaker 1: tomorrow night from Canada Life Places. I mentioned we'll have
- 2:41Speaker 1: a postgame X Spaces as well, so make sure you
- 2:44Speaker 1: tune into that on the Armshare GM Sports Networks X Feed.
- 2:47Speaker 1: You can join us then. But as far as today's
- 2:50Speaker 1: episode goes, we're gonna hear from a representative from both
- 2:53Speaker 1: teams within Friday Night Faceoff. First, we're gonna hear from
- 2:56Speaker 1: Jack Nesbit of the Windsor Spitfires the Philadelphia Flyers first
- 2:59Speaker 1: round is obviously an assistant captain now taking a bigger
- 3:03Speaker 1: role with this team in his third OHL season, talked
- 3:06Speaker 1: about at the OHL Draft that he wanted to come
- 3:08Speaker 1: back to Windsor to win an OHL championship, and a
- 3:11Speaker 1: guy that you know is very motivated here to do
- 3:14Speaker 1: big things with the Spitfires even though they're minus their star.
- 3:18Speaker 1: A draft eligible forward Ethan Belchetz gonna talk to Jack,
- 3:22Speaker 1: talk to him back at the OHL combine, so it'll
- 3:25Speaker 1: be good for me to catch up with them as well.
- 3:26Speaker 1: A great chat with him, and then we're going to
- 3:28Speaker 1: go across the bench to the London Night Side with
- 3:31Speaker 1: one of the best stories since the OHL trade deadline.
- 3:34Speaker 1: That's Ryan Brown acquired from the Sarnia Sting in a
- 3:38Speaker 1: big one for one trade there for Logan Howery again,
- 3:41Speaker 1: two highly drafted players from their respective teams from Sarnia
- 3:46Speaker 1: and London that are switched teams here, with Ryan Brown
- 3:50Speaker 1: looking to get his first taste of OHL playoff experience
- 3:53Speaker 1: in his career as well. So gonna be interesting to
- 3:56Speaker 1: chat with him about going over to London, how he's
- 3:59Speaker 1: felt there, how is games elevated to another level and
- 4:02Speaker 1: one of the best stories, like I mentioned since the
- 4:04Speaker 1: trade deadline, He's an incredible run here with the London
- 4:07Speaker 1: Knights and fitting in like a glove there with Dale
- 4:09Speaker 1: Hunter's club again, a team coming off two straight OHL Championships,
- 4:14Speaker 1: three straight OHL Championship appearances. So a little bit of
- 4:18Speaker 1: a retool on the fly here for Mark Hunter, Rob
- 4:21Speaker 1: Simpson and the group, but they're doing a great job
- 4:23Speaker 1: here having the London Nights almost in a rebuilding year
- 4:26Speaker 1: for them. Still is the fourth seed in the Western Conference.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Pretty incredible to think about that London still could possibly
- 4:34Speaker 1: have homelice advantage in a season where a lot of
- 4:37Speaker 1: people didn't expect big things from them as far as
- 4:39Speaker 1: Windsor got reverse swept by the Kitchener Rangers. They went
- 4:43Speaker 1: to the second round last year and almost made the
- 4:45Speaker 1: Western Conference. Finally they are up three to nothing on
- 4:47Speaker 1: Kitchener and then things kind of just took a turn
- 4:49Speaker 1: for the worst, Rangers winning four straight and in game
- 4:52Speaker 1: seven to knock out the Spitfires. So they're coming in
- 4:56Speaker 1: with a lot of motivation and wanting to get back
- 4:59Speaker 1: to that spot that they thought they should have been
- 5:00Speaker 1: in last season going up against the London Knights in
- 5:03Speaker 1: the Western Conference Final. But as far as tomorrow night's
- 5:06Speaker 1: matchup goes from Canada to Life Place will wrap up
- 5:09Speaker 1: the regular seasons and London Knights hosts the Windsor Spitfires.
- 5:12Speaker 1: With the regular season entering the final weekend, both teams
- 5:15Speaker 1: have plenty on the line as they push towards the playoffs.
- 5:18Speaker 1: The pregame show begins at six thirty with puck drop
- 5:21Speaker 1: schedule at four to seven o'clock. Windsor enters the battle
- 5:24Speaker 1: in the West Division as the Spitfires continue a strong
- 5:27Speaker 1: second half push. The offense is led by Liam green Tree,
- 5:30Speaker 1: the new York Rangers prospect, who tops the team with
- 5:33Speaker 1: thirty six goals and sixty nine points this season. The
- 5:35Speaker 1: Spitfires also received significant production from the blue line. Carson
- 5:39Speaker 1: Woodall and Anthony Kristaforo have been key members offensively, with
- 5:42Speaker 1: Christaphour reaching the twenty goal mark while seeing time both
- 5:46Speaker 1: at defense and at right wing in goal. Over ager
- 5:48Speaker 1: Joey Costanzo remains a steady presence four Windsor. The veteran
- 5:52Speaker 1: net miner recently reached one hundred wins for the Spitfires
- 5:55Speaker 1: and continues to anchor the Spitfires crease as a team
- 5:58Speaker 1: that looks to secure the division. London enters the matchup
- 6:01Speaker 1: fighting for home ice advantage in the first round. As
- 6:03Speaker 1: I mentioned earlier, fresh off the Memorial Cup Championship back
- 6:06Speaker 1: to back OHL titles, the Knights have continued to retool
- 6:09Speaker 1: their lineup while remaining among the league's contenders. Los Angeles
- 6:13Speaker 1: Kings prospect Henry Bristevich leads the London Knights defensive corp Offensively.
- 6:17Speaker 1: The Memorial Cup champion has produced eighteen goals and fifty
- 6:19Speaker 1: two points from the blue line this season. Ford Ryan Brown,
- 6:22Speaker 1: Who's going to be a guest a little bit later
- 6:24Speaker 1: has been one of London's most productive editions since coming
- 6:27Speaker 1: over from Sarnia. Brown has twenty one goals and leads
- 6:29Speaker 1: the Knights with fifty nine points, including fifteen goals and
- 6:32Speaker 1: thirty points in joining the club, Draft eligible forwards Jackson
- 6:34Speaker 1: Cover and Brady Wastlin have also played key roles for London,
- 6:37Speaker 1: each surpassing fifteen goals and forty points this season. In
- 6:40Speaker 1: the net, the Knights continue to rely on a strong
- 6:42Speaker 1: tana Vancouver Canucks prospect Deleuxi Medvedev shares the crease with
- 6:45Speaker 1: Sebastian Gatto, who remains third in the OHL with a
- 6:49Speaker 1: two point three to one goals against average, while also
- 6:52Speaker 1: being fourth in the league with a nine to seventeen
- 6:54Speaker 1: save percentage. With the winsor Spitfire chasing a division title
- 6:57Speaker 1: in London looking to secure home ice plenty at stake
- 7:00Speaker 1: as the postseason approaches, A new Friday night faceoff matchup
- 7:03Speaker 1: is featured every week across Flow Hockey social media platforms.

- 7:30Speaker 1: required to watch all the other games on the Busy slate.
- 7:33Speaker 1: For the final Friday Night of the OHL regular season.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Windsor comes into the matchup with a four to zero
- 7:39Speaker 1: to one record against London this season, including a win
- 7:42Speaker 1: just a few nights. Will go with an a to
- 7:44Speaker 1: two victory over the Nights that one back at THEWFCU
- 7:47Speaker 1: Center and Windsor, so the Knights will look to have
- 7:50Speaker 1: better results than they've shown this season against Windsor. In
- 7:53Speaker 1: what could possibly be a playoff preview down the road
- 7:56Speaker 1: in the Western Conference playoffs. Let's get you to both
- 7:59Speaker 1: interview right now with Jack Nesbit of the Windsor Spitfires
- 8:04Speaker 1: and then Ryan Brown of the London Nights. Hopefully you
- 8:06Speaker 1: guys enjoyed this episode, and hopefully you guys have enjoyed
- 8:09Speaker 1: Friday Night Faceoff all season long on behalf of the
- 8:12Speaker 1: Ontario Hockey League I've really enjoyed doing this project and
- 8:15Speaker 1: again really appreciate everybody tuning into the weekly preview episodes
- 8:19Speaker 1: as well as the postgame shows on x We've got
- 8:22Speaker 1: one more, as I mentioned here, tomorrow night following this game,
- 8:26Speaker 1: and it's gonna be a fun one. So hopefully you
- 8:28Speaker 1: guys have enjoyed this and going forward, appreciate the Friday
- 8:31Speaker 1: Night face Off coverage and we'll talk to you guys
- 8:34Speaker 1: once the playoffs start. So here are the interviews with
- 8:37Speaker 1: both representatives from Friday Night face off between the Windsor
- 8:40Speaker 1: Spitfires and the London Nights. Friday Night Faceoff goes tomorrow
- 8:43Speaker 1: nights Windsor Spitfires London Nights to close out the OHL
- 8:46Speaker 1: regular season. Going across the bench this time to the
- 8:49Speaker 1: Spitfire side of things, and we've got Philadelphia Flyers prospect
- 8:53Speaker 1: Jack Nesbit. Jack, really appreciate you joining us today. Obviously
- 8:57Speaker 1: exciting times for Windsor trying to lock up a top
- 9:00Speaker 1: two seed there within the Western Conference going into the playoffs,
- 9:03Speaker 1: getting drafted by Philadelphia, it's been it's been quite the
- 9:06Speaker 1: ride for you. I remember when I first talked to
- 9:08Speaker 1: you at the OHL Combine as a young sixteen year
- 9:10Speaker 1: old coming into the league. How does it feel now,
- 9:13Speaker 1: almost three years into your OHL career?
- 9:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean that that was a long time ago,
- 9:18Speaker 3: but it feels like it was yesterday. Last three years
- 9:21Speaker 3: gone by real fast, and it's been the best years
- 9:25Speaker 3: of my life so far. So I'm I'm very happy
- 9:27Speaker 3: I took this route and Windsor took me in that draft.
- 9:31Speaker 3: And no, I've met a lot of great people along
- 9:34Speaker 3: the way, and and like I said, it's.
- 9:37Speaker 4: It's been real short, but I've loved it so far.
- 9:40Speaker 1: So yeah, absolutely. I know you grew up as a
- 9:42Speaker 1: Sarnia junior sting and so now going over to Windsor,
- 9:46Speaker 1: are you now officially a Windsor guy after spending almost
- 9:49Speaker 1: three years of your life there.
- 9:51Speaker 3: I mean, I'm always going to have those start in
- 9:53Speaker 3: your roots in me, but Windsor's definitely been a second
- 9:56Speaker 3: home for me, so I can I can say I'm
- 9:59Speaker 3: a Windsor guy for an.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Are you a fan of Windsor Pizza? Your goaltender Joey
- 10:03Speaker 1: Costanzo said when he leaves after being after his ow
- 10:05Speaker 1: WA season, He's definitely gonna miss an Antonino's pizza one.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Are you a fan of it. And two what's your
- 10:10Speaker 1: favorite spot?
- 10:10Speaker 4: I I do love Antoninos. That's that's a great one.
- 10:14Speaker 3: I personally don't don't get a lot of Windsor pizza.
- 10:21Speaker 3: But a spot you might not have heard of, it's
- 10:24Speaker 3: professor z Oaz. It's one that Anthony Christo Faro and
- 10:28Speaker 3: Andrew Robinson his billets, uh, his bills took them there
- 10:31Speaker 3: and then and then I went with them as well,
- 10:33Speaker 3: and they make them on real pizza there, great cross
- 10:36Speaker 3: and and it's just it's very good.
- 10:38Speaker 4: It's very it's awesome, it's awesome.
- 10:40Speaker 1: I'm sure you can't eat a lot of pizza as
- 10:42Speaker 1: a being a professional athlete as yourself, but when you
- 10:45Speaker 1: when you can indulge, that's that sounds like a good
- 10:48Speaker 1: spot to recommend it there. So I guess you know
- 10:52Speaker 1: going forward here, Jack, like you guys obviously have a
- 10:55Speaker 1: lot of playoff aspirations. You you talked to the draft,
- 10:57Speaker 1: somebody asked you, you know, do you have any any
- 10:59Speaker 1: NC aspirations and you quickly shot that down and say, nope,
- 11:03Speaker 1: I'm coming back to Windsor to try to win a
- 11:05Speaker 1: championship with the Spitfires. And you know, it seems like
- 11:08Speaker 1: you guys are on track to achieve some of those
- 11:11Speaker 1: goals going into the playoffs as either the two or
- 11:13Speaker 1: the three seed. Just you know, you really didn't bock
- 11:16Speaker 1: at that, and it seemed like a Windsor was always
- 11:19Speaker 1: going to be the option for you this season.
- 11:20Speaker 4: Yeah, one hundred percent.
- 11:22Speaker 3: I knew since last year that we were even going
- 11:25Speaker 3: to try to make a run last year, and we
- 11:28Speaker 3: had most of those guys coming back, so I was
- 11:30Speaker 3: I knew we were gonna have a good team this
- 11:31Speaker 3: year and we were definitely gonna add some guys like
- 11:34Speaker 3: we did, and no, I knew we were going to
- 11:37Speaker 3: try to make a great run and that's what we're
- 11:39Speaker 3: on pace to do right now. So I'm pretty happy
- 11:42Speaker 3: the spot we're in. If we went out here, we'll
- 11:45Speaker 3: take first place in the division and that I'll be
- 11:47Speaker 3: huge here.
- 11:47Speaker 4: So hopefully we.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Can do that absolutely, And just talk about yourself and
- 11:51Speaker 1: the progression and going through this league. You know, you
- 11:53Speaker 1: come in as a sixteen year old, which is not
- 11:55Speaker 1: an easy thing to do. You guys go through a
- 11:57Speaker 1: lot of adversity as a team that first year in Windsor.
- 12:00Speaker 1: You know, you guys are are near the bottom of
- 12:01Speaker 1: the standings, and then the last two seasons have really
- 12:03Speaker 1: been an elevation for yourself and for the team. What
- 12:07Speaker 1: do you think you guys learned going through that experience
- 12:09Speaker 1: a few years ago to make the last two seasons,
- 12:12Speaker 1: you know, really special for you on and off the ice.
- 12:15Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, that first year was definitely a little bit different.
- 12:20Speaker 3: It was tough for all of us during that season.
- 12:22Speaker 3: But after that season, I just took it as going
- 12:25Speaker 3: to the offseason as do whatever I can to help
- 12:27Speaker 3: myself get better for the next year. And and we
- 12:31Speaker 3: didn't know how good we were going to be the
- 12:32Speaker 3: next year, but it turned out pretty well. So I'm
- 12:36Speaker 3: glad we had added some pieces that year and and
- 12:38Speaker 3: got a lot better. We got a great head coach,
- 12:41Speaker 3: Greg Walters, and that helped us a lot. And then
- 12:44Speaker 3: coming into this year, we knew we were just gonna
- 12:47Speaker 3: add even more and and Walter's really helped all of us.
- 12:50Speaker 3: He's a great coach. He he has great practices, he
- 12:53Speaker 3: shows us video, all that kind of stuff. So that
- 12:55Speaker 3: helped us a lot, and and we appreciate him. And yeah,
- 12:58Speaker 3: we have we have a great team this year, so
- 13:00Speaker 3: hopefully we can go far.
- 13:01Speaker 1: What is it about Wally. That makes him such a
- 13:03Speaker 1: great coach.
- 13:05Speaker 4: He's always making us work hard.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Every time we make a mistake in practice or something
- 13:09Speaker 3: like that, he's slamming his stick and yelling at us,
- 13:12Speaker 3: we need to get better at this, we need to
- 13:13Speaker 3: get better at that. And and that's one thing that's
- 13:15Speaker 3: that's great for us. If we have a little mistake
- 13:18Speaker 3: like that, he's on us and and next time we
- 13:20Speaker 3: do it right.
- 13:21Speaker 4: So just little stuff like that.
- 13:24Speaker 3: And even off the ice, he's always around us, uh,
- 13:27Speaker 3: being friendly, making jokes and and everyone loves them off
- 13:30Speaker 3: the ice, so it's it's fun to be wrong.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Probably some good, good road trips that you guys. You
- 13:34Speaker 1: guys in the West, you guys travel a lot comparatively
- 13:37Speaker 1: to some teams in the East. So do you sort
- 13:39Speaker 1: of enjoy that camaraderie with the guys and those long
- 13:41Speaker 1: bus trips to Sue and even some of those eastern
- 13:44Speaker 1: trips you gotta make once a year to Ottawa and
- 13:46Speaker 1: things like that, Like, do you really is that something
- 13:48Speaker 1: you're probably gonna miss when you graduate onto the pros?
- 13:50Speaker 4: Yeah, one hundred percent. That AUTI what trip that we take,
- 13:54Speaker 4: It's probably one of my favorites.
- 13:55Speaker 3: It's about five days and we get to spend a
- 13:58Speaker 3: day off in Ottawa and that's that's really fun. This
- 14:01Speaker 3: year it was at Christmas time, so we went to
- 14:03Speaker 3: like a Christmas market or whatever you call that kind
- 14:06Speaker 3: of stuff.
- 14:06Speaker 4: So that was pretty fun.
- 14:08Speaker 3: But no, I'm definitely gonna miss those long bus trips
- 14:11Speaker 3: and and playing NHL on the bus with the with
- 14:14Speaker 3: the boys and stuff like that. So it's it's been
- 14:17Speaker 3: an unreal time and and yeah, I'm definitely gonna miss
- 14:20Speaker 3: some of those road trips.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Yeah, do you have a good Steve bell story? I
- 14:25Speaker 1: know Beller's a beloved guy in Windsor, and yeah, he's uh,
- 14:29Speaker 1: he's sort of is one of you guys. He would
- 14:31Speaker 1: he would go to go to bat or go to
- 14:32Speaker 1: war for for any of those players. And he's very
- 14:34Speaker 1: animated up there calling the games as well. Is there
- 14:37Speaker 1: something you can tell us about the Beller?
- 14:38Speaker 3: Well, there's a lot of things that that go on
- 14:41Speaker 3: with him, but uh, I don't have any real good stories,
- 14:44Speaker 3: but I know some guys do. On the bus, he's
- 14:46Speaker 3: always chatting up the guys behind him. I never sat
- 14:49Speaker 3: too close to him, but I know some guys that have.
- 14:52Speaker 3: And no, He's great to be around. He's always energetic
- 14:55Speaker 3: and he's always getting on the mic on the bus
- 14:57Speaker 3: telling some jokes stuff like that.
- 14:59Speaker 4: So he's got some good jokes as well.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Somehow that hair is still perfect. I don't know how
- 15:03Speaker 1: how wakes up and it's just it's just right off
- 15:06Speaker 1: season activities for you, Jack, Obviously, it's a it's very
- 15:08Speaker 1: stressful for you going through, you know, the last two seasons,
- 15:11Speaker 1: your draft year and then your your draft plus one year.
- 15:14Speaker 1: What are some of the things you like to do
- 15:15Speaker 1: away from the ice in the summertime. I know you're
- 15:17Speaker 1: you're you're training a lot obviously during the off season
- 15:20Speaker 1: as well, but what do you like to do to
- 15:22Speaker 1: to kind of get your mind off of things for
- 15:24Speaker 1: a bit?
- 15:24Speaker 4: Yeah, mostly golf.
- 15:28Speaker 3: I'm sure a lot of guys say that, but it's
- 15:30Speaker 3: one thing I love and and uh, yeah, you try
- 15:33Speaker 3: to get out a lot and with the buddies and
- 15:35Speaker 3: stuff that I don't see often and and get a
- 15:38Speaker 3: few rounds in. But I also go up to Muskoka
- 15:41Speaker 3: for for about a week with my girlfriend and her family,
- 15:43Speaker 3: so that's, uh, that's a good time up there. But yeah,
- 15:47Speaker 3: it's mostly just training stuff like that try to get
- 15:49Speaker 3: on the course once in a while, but other than that,
- 15:52Speaker 3: there's not.
- 15:52Speaker 4: Much to do.
- 15:53Speaker 1: So is there a favorite course and what's your favorite
- 15:55Speaker 1: club to use?
- 15:57Speaker 3: In sarn Ya, there's a private course and it's called
- 16:00Speaker 3: the surn Your golf and curly club. That's that's a
- 16:02Speaker 3: great course, go out there quite a bit. My favorite
- 16:07Speaker 3: club probably be my sixty degree. I like my short
- 16:10Speaker 3: game and stuff like that, so it's fun to use.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Hey, that's that's that's the hard stuff, right that in
- 16:15Speaker 1: the putter. I mean, everybody drives for show, but it's
- 16:18Speaker 1: that stuff around the green that that makes the difference.
- 16:20Speaker 4: So exactly, that's that's why you got to work on.
- 16:22Speaker 1: And that's why it didn't become a pro golfer. Not
- 16:25Speaker 1: good at the short game, regardless of that. Jack talking
- 16:28Speaker 1: about a teammate yours and and Ethan Belchiz obviously what
- 16:32Speaker 1: he's gone through at the end of the season and
- 16:34Speaker 1: things like that, and hopefully you know, might have him
- 16:36Speaker 1: back for some point in the playoffs. But how have
- 16:38Speaker 1: you guys sort of tried to help him through what's
- 16:40Speaker 1: a you know, very stressful time for him. Possibly being
- 16:43Speaker 1: a top ten pick in the NHL draft. You and
- 16:45Speaker 1: Liam green Tree have gone through you know, draft processes
- 16:48Speaker 1: as well, Like, how have you guys tried to help
- 16:50Speaker 1: him out? And and obviously you know that that he's got,
- 16:53Speaker 1: you know, high hopes and high goals and things like that.
- 16:55Speaker 1: So right now while he can't be on the ice,
- 16:57Speaker 1: how are you guys helping him as well?
- 16:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean this year definitely got a lot tighter
- 17:01Speaker 3: with him. We were on a line quite a line
- 17:04Speaker 3: quite a bit with Christopherol when he was up playing
- 17:06Speaker 3: forward and and we got pretty tight there. But I
- 17:10Speaker 3: try to talk to him a little bit, and I mean,
- 17:13Speaker 3: he seems pretty comfortable playing this year and and and
- 17:16Speaker 3: doing all that kinds of stuff like those questionnaires, the interviews.
- 17:18Speaker 3: He seems pretty comfortable doing that. It's very unfortunate he
- 17:22Speaker 3: got injured again right before playoffs, but hopefully we can
- 17:26Speaker 3: get him get him back in playoffs or even at
- 17:29Speaker 3: the end of it, that that'll help.
- 17:30Speaker 4: Us a lot. But no, I think he's he's been
- 17:35Speaker 4: great this year.
- 17:36Speaker 3: He's been dialed in, and uh, I think from now
- 17:39Speaker 3: on he just gotta just go work on rehabit and uh,
- 17:44Speaker 3: just keep those interviews going and let's do what he
- 17:47Speaker 3: can to to get higher up in there.
- 17:49Speaker 1: What is it about those wonder spiffairs. I feel like
- 17:51Speaker 1: you guys prerequisite You guys have to be like at
- 17:53Speaker 1: least six foot three all of your forwards, I mean,
- 17:55Speaker 1: like yourself, Bethan Belchet's, Liam Green Treele you have protus last year.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Like you guys just have a certain identity that the
- 18:02Speaker 1: winder spitfires type of like to play. So for a
- 18:06Speaker 1: guy like Belchiez, he's kind of fit into fit into
- 18:08Speaker 1: that culture with you guys.
- 18:09Speaker 4: Yeah, one hundred.
- 18:11Speaker 3: I think Bill Buller did a great job and his
- 18:13Speaker 3: last last few draft classes and drafting big guys, So
- 18:17Speaker 3: props to him. But uh no, I mean we're we're
- 18:19Speaker 3: a big team and we want to play like that.
- 18:23Speaker 4: I think I think we do do that.
- 18:24Speaker 3: We may make a lot of big hits and and
- 18:26Speaker 3: with aj Spellacy as well, I think you got number
- 18:29Speaker 3: one best body checker and hardest workers stuff like that.
- 18:32Speaker 4: So that that's what that's what works for us.
- 18:35Speaker 3: And if we keep doing that, then teams might back
- 18:38Speaker 3: down a little bit and we'll get more scoring chances
- 18:40Speaker 3: and stuff like that.
- 18:40Speaker 4: So that helps a lot.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Getting home Mikes advantage is obviously going to be huge
- 18:44Speaker 1: for you guys if you can secure that over Flint
- 18:46Speaker 1: there for the West Division title. But talk about the
- 18:50Speaker 1: WFCU Center when it gets rocking in the playoffs and
- 18:52Speaker 1: just how much you enjoy that atmosphere, you know, the
- 18:55Speaker 1: the whole don't stop a leaving thing coming out for
- 18:57Speaker 1: the third period, like you guys as a team, like
- 18:59Speaker 1: just kind of get get goosebumps and get you guys
- 19:02Speaker 1: pumped up when you've got you know, one of the
- 19:04Speaker 1: best home iice advantages in the league.
- 19:06Speaker 4: Yeah, it's unreal.
- 19:07Speaker 3: I know, Uh, I know if you guys on other
- 19:10Speaker 3: teams that come in and and they don't like playing
- 19:12Speaker 3: our rank because of the fans and stuff like that.
- 19:14Speaker 4: So, uh, that's that's pretty sweet to hear.
- 19:16Speaker 3: But especially in playoffs, they get they get real loud,
- 19:19Speaker 3: and and uh, it's unbelievable to play in. Every goal
- 19:23Speaker 3: is like the game winning goal, and and you just
- 19:26Speaker 3: get goosebumps every time you come out into that third
- 19:28Speaker 3: period and it's awesome. It's awesome to play. I'm sure
- 19:31Speaker 3: anyone you talk to a place for winsor says they
- 19:33Speaker 3: love it there.
- 19:34Speaker 1: So and then obviously you know down the road Kitchener
- 19:38Speaker 1: is going to be a team you're probably gonna have
- 19:39Speaker 1: to go through. You know, you guys licked your wounds
- 19:42Speaker 1: from last year. How much are you looking forward to
- 19:44Speaker 1: maybe getting another crack at them and hopefully having things
- 19:47Speaker 1: that turn out differently this time.
- 19:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I know they've had our number of the past
- 19:51Speaker 3: few years in the playoffs, but uh no, I think
- 19:54Speaker 3: I think we got a good team to uh to
- 19:56Speaker 3: beat them down this year. Obviously it's gonna be pretty hard.
- 19:59Speaker 3: It'll it'll be it'll be tough, for sure, But they
- 20:03Speaker 3: got they got a great team, and so do we.
- 20:05Speaker 3: So it's gonna it's gonna come down to that and
- 20:07Speaker 3: who works harder and who puts more bucks in than that.
- 20:09Speaker 1: So and talking about another another good environment that you'll
- 20:13Speaker 1: go into tomorrow night in London. You guys have had
- 20:15Speaker 1: great success against London this year four h to one
- 20:17Speaker 1: and you beat them eight two, and your last head
- 20:19Speaker 1: to head matchup this last weekend. So I guess what
- 20:21Speaker 1: is the mindset going up there and trying to I
- 20:24Speaker 1: guess just use that game as playoff preparation, a team
- 20:27Speaker 1: that you could face, you know, in the playoffs and
- 20:29Speaker 1: things like that, and just using this final week at
- 20:31Speaker 1: weekend of the regular season to get you guys ready
- 20:34Speaker 1: ready for playoff shape.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Yeah, I think these past few games, that's all we've
- 20:39Speaker 3: been doing is getting ready for playoffs and and having
- 20:41Speaker 3: four guys out right now is a little tough, but
- 20:44Speaker 3: that just gives the younger guys more chances to show
- 20:47Speaker 3: what they can do and and get them even prepared
- 20:50Speaker 3: for playoffs and what they can do there. But yeah,
- 20:53Speaker 3: we just got to take these next couple of games
- 20:56Speaker 3: like their playoff games and and get ready for that
- 20:58Speaker 3: and uh hopefully like we've been talking about getting first
- 21:02Speaker 3: place and getting home and advantage there, so that'll be huge.
- 21:05Speaker 1: And then lastly for you, Jack, is like at the
- 21:08Speaker 1: the NH post NHL Draft interview, you talked about, you know,
- 21:11Speaker 1: two or three years of development for you wanting to
- 21:13Speaker 1: go back to winsord to win a championship. So I guess,
- 21:16Speaker 1: what are the Flyers sort of looking from you and
- 21:17Speaker 1: what are you expecting from yourself here as you've gone
- 21:20Speaker 1: through your third year and going into playoffs, Like what
- 21:22Speaker 1: is your I guess if you can describe at your
- 21:24Speaker 1: your personal goals that you're trying to maintain and take
- 21:28Speaker 1: another step in your development as a player on and
- 21:30Speaker 1: off the ice. Here.
- 21:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I'd say throughout this year is just it's just
- 21:35Speaker 3: be being all around good player in the D zone
- 21:38Speaker 3: and the O zone, neutral zone, everywhere and lay some hits,
- 21:43Speaker 3: put some bucks in the that do everything right. And
- 21:46Speaker 3: one of the biggest things is face offs and I've
- 21:49Speaker 3: tried to work on that the most I can this year,
- 21:52Speaker 3: and I think our coaches have done a great job
- 21:54Speaker 3: and helping us in practice after practice, drop and tuck
- 21:56Speaker 3: stuff like that. So it's been huge. And I think
- 22:00Speaker 3: think the Flyers just just want me to keep working.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Put on some more weight stuff like that, and and
- 22:06Speaker 3: that'll that'll come for sure. That'll that'll even help my skating,
- 22:09Speaker 3: my shot, everything. So once I do that and everything
- 22:13Speaker 3: should come together.
- 22:14Speaker 1: So last question, lighthearted question. I don't want to put
- 22:17Speaker 1: you on the spot if you don't want to flow
- 22:19Speaker 1: to teammate, you don't have to. But best and worst
- 22:21Speaker 1: sewer players on the Winter Spitfires.
- 22:28Speaker 3: I don't want to point him out, but I'd say
- 22:29Speaker 3: the worst might be Belchez. He's got a real heavy
- 22:34Speaker 3: foot and he uses his knee a lot. He's got
- 22:36Speaker 3: this one move that he uses and he's he's gotten
- 22:39Speaker 3: better throughout the year, but he might be.
- 22:42Speaker 4: He might be the worst. And the best top three
- 22:47Speaker 4: usually is me, Kennedy and Costanzo.
- 22:50Speaker 3: They got those two lives, so that helps him a lot,
- 22:54Speaker 3: but no, those are the top three.
- 22:57Speaker 4: It comes down to those three a lot.
- 22:58Speaker 1: So those goalies, I know something different. Hey, he's in
- 23:03Speaker 1: his overage, yer, he better be good at he's been
- 23:04Speaker 1: playing it for five years.
- 23:05Speaker 4: Exactly, exactly.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Yeah, there's Jack nesbit forward to the windsor Spitfires first
- 23:10Speaker 1: round prospect of the Philadelphia Flyers. Jack, Really appreciate you
- 23:12Speaker 1: taking the time again. Great to chat with you, Like
- 23:14Speaker 1: I said, full circle from the Ohl Combine days that
- 23:17Speaker 1: we spoke there and best of luck down the stretch
- 23:20Speaker 1: going into the playoffs with with the Spitfires and look
- 23:22Speaker 1: forward to to continue to see you guys maybe win
- 23:25Speaker 1: a championship this year.
- 23:26Speaker 4: Thank you appreciate it.

- 24:09Speaker 2: Hi, this is Mike Stubbs Radio Voice of the London Knights.
- 24:12Speaker 2: You are listening to Brandon Kapudle on OHL overtime.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Friday Night face Off goes tomorrow night London Nights windsor
- 24:45Speaker 1: Spitfires in the final week of the OHL regular season.
- 24:48Speaker 1: We're here going across the benches to look at the
- 24:51Speaker 1: upcoming matchup with London Night's forward Ryan Brown. Ryan really
- 24:54Speaker 1: appreciate you taking the time to join us today. First off,
- 24:57Speaker 1: you know, getting getting repped up for playoff, getting excited
- 25:01Speaker 1: for what's to come, for your first experience in the
- 25:04Speaker 1: Ontario Hockey League playoffs. Just how has that whole transition
- 25:07Speaker 1: been going to London and how do you feel now,
- 25:10Speaker 1: you know, as you guys are reach an important time
- 25:12Speaker 1: in the season.
- 25:13Speaker 5: Yeah, thank you for having me on here, and I
- 25:15Speaker 5: think me and our team were super excited to get
- 25:17Speaker 5: started with playoffs and get into the postseason some meaningful games,
- 25:21Speaker 5: and thank for me. Like you said, it's my first
- 25:23Speaker 5: time in playoffs, so I'm super pumped, super excited to
- 25:25Speaker 5: be in the atmosphere being playoff hockey.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Did you have any familiarity with any of the guys
- 25:28Speaker 1: when you got over over to London there and maybe
- 25:31Speaker 1: some of the leadership that helped to bring you in
- 25:33Speaker 1: and get you engraved into in the Knight's Kingdom there
- 25:36Speaker 1: and has obviously led to your success, Like, were there
- 25:38Speaker 1: any any guys that you knew or that helped you
- 25:41Speaker 1: make that easier?
- 25:42Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 25:43Speaker 5: I think I think being on Sorny, I played against
- 25:45Speaker 5: London a ton, so I've been playing against some of
- 25:47Speaker 5: these guys for two and a half years, so I.
- 25:49Speaker 6: Familiar with them on the ice. By off the ice.
- 25:51Speaker 5: I went to school with Cover for a bit, so
- 25:53Speaker 5: I knew Cover before, but other than that, everyone else
- 25:56Speaker 5: was pretty brand new other than playing against them. So
- 25:58Speaker 5: it's good to have some meat, some new guys, and
- 26:00Speaker 5: they welcome me pretty well.
- 26:01Speaker 1: So Cover also being another draft eligible guy. How exciting
- 26:05Speaker 1: is that to go through a process with somebody that
- 26:07Speaker 1: you're familiar with and and and the guy that you're
- 26:10Speaker 1: sort of close with.
- 26:11Speaker 5: Yeah, it's pretty cool, especially Cover a pretty cool story
- 26:13Speaker 5: and some other guys like Glocelyn and Max and and Mitch.
- 26:16Speaker 5: You it's a lot of us that are in our
- 26:18Speaker 5: draft here, so it's pretty cool to watch all of
- 26:19Speaker 5: us grow in a big important year for all of us.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Talk about I guess your success since going to London,
- 26:26Speaker 1: you know, over thirty points and in thirty games, over
- 26:29Speaker 1: a point of game. You know, it seems like that
- 26:31Speaker 1: change of scenery really helped you, and and you were
- 26:34Speaker 1: one of the I guess, one of the better stories
- 26:36Speaker 1: in Antario Hockey League coming out of that trade deadline,
- 26:39Speaker 1: one of the players that's you know, succeeded the most
- 26:41Speaker 1: in changing teams. What do you think has been the
- 26:44Speaker 1: biggest impact in your game taking another step here?
- 26:47Speaker 5: Yeah, I think, like you said, it's it's been a
- 26:49Speaker 5: great fresh start for me, and I think the guys
- 26:51Speaker 5: around me have really helped me out a ton of
- 26:52Speaker 5: I give credits. A lot of my credit to them,
- 26:54Speaker 5: like come here and play with some mature players and
- 26:57Speaker 5: guys who've gone to wach Old Championships a couple of times.
- 27:00Speaker 5: So it's been really helpful to play with some experienced
- 27:02Speaker 5: guys and they've helped me out a ton.
- 27:04Speaker 1: A little bit about your your older brother Aiden, he
- 27:06Speaker 1: now plays professionally in Germany, a couple of years older
- 27:08Speaker 1: than you, So I'm sure you were the little brother
- 27:11Speaker 1: that had to take those battles growing up playing mini
- 27:15Speaker 1: sticks or things like that. What has he meant to
- 27:17Speaker 1: you and how has he sort of helped you during
- 27:19Speaker 1: his four or five year career in the OHL with Barry,
- 27:23Speaker 1: maybe when you were a little bit younger.
- 27:25Speaker 6: Yeah, he's been everything for me.
- 27:27Speaker 5: He's my look up to him since I was a kid,
- 27:30Speaker 5: my role model, and like like you said, going to
- 27:32Speaker 5: his games all growing up playing tripley hockey, and Barry's
- 27:34Speaker 5: just thirty minutes from where I live, so I got
- 27:37Speaker 5: out to every home game go watch him.
- 27:38Speaker 6: It's pretty cool. Go down to the room with you
- 27:40Speaker 6: with the guys.
- 27:41Speaker 5: Kind of have like a little bit of a foot
- 27:43Speaker 5: in the door and see what it's like at such
- 27:44Speaker 5: a young age helped me out a ton, and having
- 27:46Speaker 5: him by my side help me out and teach me
- 27:48Speaker 5: pretty much everything I knew and growing up playing hockey like,
- 27:50Speaker 5: he's been huge for me.
- 27:52Speaker 1: How much do you sort of stay in contact with him,
- 27:53Speaker 1: he's obviously in another continent playing hockey professionally. How often
- 27:57Speaker 1: do you are you able to get to call him
- 27:58Speaker 1: or maybe see him in the off seas?
- 28:00Speaker 5: Yeah, I think if you check my phone log, it's
- 28:02Speaker 5: my parents and then he's definitely first. I probably talked
- 28:04Speaker 5: to him ten twenty times a day and talk to
- 28:07Speaker 5: him all day after my games. He stays up the
- 28:09Speaker 5: time difference in Germany is like five hours and stays
- 28:12Speaker 5: up to watch all my.
- 28:13Speaker 6: Games and call him after the game. So it's pretty cool.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Was there a moment when you were growing up that
- 28:18Speaker 1: stands out to you, maybe a hockey memory of watching
- 28:21Speaker 1: him playing in the OHL, or a certain game or
- 28:23Speaker 1: just a certain thing that sticks up to you.
- 28:26Speaker 5: Yeah, I think, like I said, like after a big
- 28:28Speaker 5: win or a playoffs or something. It's kind of different
- 28:31Speaker 5: having a younger brother. You can kind of bring him
- 28:33Speaker 5: down to the room. So I have his jersey on,
- 28:35Speaker 5: go down to the room and be with all the guys,
- 28:36Speaker 5: and I think just like in the summer, the guys
- 28:38Speaker 5: have always come to our house or being like I
- 28:41Speaker 5: said thirty minutes, like I'd have a triple A game
- 28:43Speaker 5: with York Simco and I'd have like ten of the
- 28:45Speaker 5: players come to my game to come watch me. And
- 28:47Speaker 5: I think it was pretty special to be so close
- 28:50Speaker 5: with all those guys.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Absolutely talk about yourself. I went back and watched your
- 28:55Speaker 1: OHL draft interview that you did. You know, you're a
- 28:58Speaker 1: lot older looking now and then you were back then,
- 29:01Speaker 1: but you you describe yourself as a competitive two way forward,
- 29:04Speaker 1: hard working playmaking high IQ hockey and make everyone around
- 29:08Speaker 1: you better. Do you still have that same feeling? Is
- 29:10Speaker 1: there anything that you've maybe added to your game? Uh?
- 29:13Speaker 1: When when you came in the OHL and had that
- 29:15Speaker 1: that first initial I guess self describe of yourself.
- 29:20Speaker 5: No, I think I think it's kind of say the same,
- 29:22Speaker 5: like that's what that was my game going into the OHL,
- 29:24Speaker 5: and I think it's sayed the same, but gone up
- 29:26Speaker 5: a couple of notches, I think, and getting a little
- 29:28Speaker 5: bit older, heavier, a little bit taller.
- 29:30Speaker 6: I think I've been able to add a little bit.
- 29:32Speaker 5: More physicality being a little bit older in the OHL,
- 29:34Speaker 5: and I think it's really helped me.
- 29:35Speaker 6: Out of time.
- 29:37Speaker 1: How has I guess?
- 29:38Speaker 5: Uh?
- 29:38Speaker 1: I don't know how often players look at this in
- 29:41Speaker 1: their draft year, the Central Scouting list and things like that.
- 29:43Speaker 1: I know, coming into the year you were a C grade,
- 29:45Speaker 1: which is sort of like a fourth to fifth round
- 29:47Speaker 1: pick one. Do you look at that and too, how
- 29:49Speaker 1: do you sort of motivate yourself to say, you know what,
- 29:51Speaker 1: you know when my name's called in next June's draft,
- 29:55Speaker 1: that I want to be higher than what these people
- 29:57Speaker 1: may you know, value me as.
- 30:00Speaker 5: Yeah, I think it's hard to not look at some
- 30:02Speaker 5: of the stuff when it's already on your phone, But
- 30:04Speaker 5: I think it's a good test and a little bit
- 30:06Speaker 5: of a chip on your shoulder when you see to
- 30:09Speaker 5: start the air and then not on the midterm, and
- 30:10Speaker 5: then I think the only thing that matters is playing
- 30:14Speaker 5: hockey and going far in the playoffs, and then that
- 30:16Speaker 5: stuff off ice will sort itself out. And just control
- 30:19Speaker 5: what I can control, and then at the end of
- 30:20Speaker 5: the year in June, if I hear my name called,
- 30:22Speaker 5: it's from putting my head down and just working.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Talking about the coaching staff Deal Hunter and everybody there.
- 30:28Speaker 1: You know, they've developed so many great players to become
- 30:31Speaker 1: pro hockey players. How has getting into that coaching staff
- 30:34Speaker 1: helped you and and what do you think that that
- 30:37Speaker 1: Dale really wants to see from you? Continue to develop
- 30:39Speaker 1: so that that you do make yourself more available when
- 30:42Speaker 1: it comes to the draft, and just you know, just
- 30:45Speaker 1: being the best player you can be by the end
- 30:47Speaker 1: of the year.
- 30:47Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I think coming here is super grateful
- 30:49Speaker 5: to come and play for Dale and Mark and all
- 30:51Speaker 5: the coaches here, Steady and Dilly, And I think the
- 30:55Speaker 5: numbers and stuff don't why I came here, and they
- 30:57Speaker 5: were at World Junior so when I showed up, they
- 30:58Speaker 5: weren't here yet. But throughout World Juniors for a reason,
- 31:01Speaker 5: and they're been there a couple of times in championships
- 31:04Speaker 5: and mem Cups, And I think it goes to show
- 31:06Speaker 5: and you come here and you see it first hand
- 31:08Speaker 5: why and it pays off for sure, and you see
- 31:12Speaker 5: how they are every day at the rink and stuff,
- 31:14Speaker 5: and you see why they're so successful and why they're
- 31:17Speaker 5: such a high level coach.
- 31:19Speaker 1: Is there something that you enjoy doing away from the rink,
- 31:22Speaker 1: maybe during the season or in the off season just
- 31:24Speaker 1: to kind of clear your mind from hockey because this
- 31:26Speaker 1: is your full time, full time job right now, and
- 31:29Speaker 1: trying to just make sure you have some downtime and
- 31:33Speaker 1: just I guess refresh for you know, the the pressures
- 31:37Speaker 1: of what can be of a draft season.
- 31:39Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I think during the are you're always
- 31:41Speaker 5: it's go, go, go. There's sixty eight games, and it's
- 31:43Speaker 5: tough to have a ton of free time. You're always
- 31:46Speaker 5: practicing in games and stuff. But I think the bigess
- 31:48Speaker 5: is just like hanging out with the guys on the
- 31:49Speaker 5: team and getting together after practice or on a day off,
- 31:52Speaker 5: hanging out during the day getting food or getting up
- 31:54Speaker 5: to something, but just hanging out away from the rink
- 31:58Speaker 5: and building that chemistry away from the rink really really
- 32:00Speaker 5: adds and really pays off on the ice.
- 32:02Speaker 1: Were you always a hockey guy? Was it? Was there
- 32:04Speaker 1: anything else that you enjoyed playing multi sport athlete? I
- 32:07Speaker 1: know there's a lot of lacrosse players that play hockey
- 32:09Speaker 1: and things like that, but for Ryan Brown, what was
- 32:11Speaker 1: was there any other sports that you enjoyed playing growing up?
- 32:14Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 32:14Speaker 5: I played I played hockey and lacrosse growing up, So
- 32:16Speaker 5: I played hockey at from five years old when I
- 32:19Speaker 5: started lacrosse at the same time, and played lacrosse the
- 32:21Speaker 5: whole way up until grade.
- 32:22Speaker 6: Nine and ten.
- 32:23Speaker 5: I played at San Andrews with Kolver was there with
- 32:25Speaker 5: me and played there and won two championships there. But yeah,
- 32:28Speaker 5: just lacrosse and hockey hockey in the winter the whole year,
- 32:31Speaker 5: and then when hockey season's over, lace up the cleats
- 32:35Speaker 5: and play play lacrosse for a couple months during the summer.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Why do you think lacrosse sort of helps hockey players?
- 32:39Speaker 1: I know it's a lot of a lot of crossover
- 32:42Speaker 1: without those two sports there. Why do you think it
- 32:43Speaker 1: sort of helps you for hockey as well? Maybe the
- 32:46Speaker 1: physicality or just the just the way the game's played.
- 32:49Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I think box lacrosse is it's on
- 32:51Speaker 5: a it's on a hockey rank on the concrete, and
- 32:53Speaker 5: it's pretty much the same stuff, same these own stuff,
- 32:56Speaker 5: same ozone stuff. And I think the contact at socially
- 32:58Speaker 5: young age there's a cross chet and then you can
- 33:00Speaker 5: fully hit when you're like eight years old playing lacrosse,
- 33:03Speaker 5: So I think being in that environment in such a
- 33:04Speaker 5: young age, and then like the hand eye stuff has
- 33:06Speaker 5: been huge in lacrosse, and just like everything, staying active
- 33:09Speaker 5: during the summer, running all the time, playing lacrosse is
- 33:12Speaker 5: is really huge.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Talk about what it's been like to be the home
- 33:15Speaker 1: team at Canada Life Place. You talked about, you know,
- 33:17Speaker 1: going to battle these guys for a few seasons in
- 33:20Speaker 1: the Sarnia Yellow and now going back to Sarnia as
- 33:22Speaker 1: an away player. So how have those two buildings sort
- 33:25Speaker 1: of changed for you, one being now your home arena
- 33:28Speaker 1: and one being the away Yeah.
- 33:30Speaker 5: I think it's my first time getting traded and it's
- 33:32Speaker 5: it's weird going back to your old rink.
- 33:33Speaker 6: My first two games were in Sarnia, so it's pretty weird.
- 33:35Speaker 5: But yeah, being here, scoring against London on Sarnia is
- 33:39Speaker 5: all booze and silent, But then when you score here
- 33:42Speaker 5: in front of ten thousand people cheering and stuff, it's
- 33:45Speaker 5: pretty special. And it's obviously one of the coolest rangs
- 33:47Speaker 5: to play at in the cochl And I think every
- 33:50Speaker 5: night coming out here and our fans are always here
- 33:52Speaker 5: supporting us, it's really really special.
- 33:54Speaker 1: Talk about you got the windsor coming up tomorrow night.
- 33:57Speaker 1: I know, you know, the two times you've played with them,
- 34:00Speaker 1: with London haven't necessarily gone your way? What do you
- 34:03Speaker 1: guys have to do to kind of have success tomorrow
- 34:05Speaker 1: night and kind of use this as a good lead
- 34:07Speaker 1: up for the playoffs because it's the team you could
- 34:09Speaker 1: meet down the road in a second or third round
- 34:12Speaker 1: playoff matchup. So how are you guys sort of approaching
- 34:15Speaker 1: a big game like that in the final week of
- 34:17Speaker 1: the regular season.
- 34:18Speaker 5: Yeah, I think I think the last game against Winsor
- 34:20Speaker 5: didn't go how we planed and how we wanted. So
- 34:22Speaker 5: let's put it behind us, put in the past and
- 34:23Speaker 5: focus on this Friday against Winds. Are really focus on
- 34:27Speaker 5: playing the right way and stuff like last game didn't
- 34:29Speaker 5: go as well, So I think I think it's how
- 34:32Speaker 5: we respond to last game and how we bring it
- 34:34Speaker 5: on Friday. And I think, yeah, like you said, they're
- 34:36Speaker 5: a really good team and we could face them deeper
- 34:38Speaker 5: in the run. And I think going into playoffs, teams
- 34:40Speaker 5: want to get hot, So I think it's it's big
- 34:42Speaker 5: for us to get some wins going into playoffs and
- 34:45Speaker 5: feel good.
- 34:46Speaker 1: You guys are in an interesting spot right now in
- 34:48Speaker 1: that four or five matchup. It looks like with London
- 34:51Speaker 1: and Sue trying to battle for that whole ice position
- 34:54Speaker 1: in that in that matchup. So I guess what is
- 34:56Speaker 1: the mindset of yourself and just the team in this
- 34:59Speaker 1: final week of the reg their season in the gear
- 35:01Speaker 1: up for obviously what's to come next week, but trying
- 35:04Speaker 1: to get a hole ice in that that always exciting
- 35:06Speaker 1: four or five matchup.
- 35:08Speaker 6: Yeah, Like getting home ice here in London would be huge.
- 35:10Speaker 5: I think, like you said, it's a pretty big home
- 35:12Speaker 5: miice advantage playing here in front of all these fans,
- 35:14Speaker 5: and it's tough building to come in and play I
- 35:16Speaker 5: know first hand playing on Sorry, it's tough to come
- 35:19Speaker 5: in here and play here and play the right way
- 35:21Speaker 5: when you're getting cheered on by.
- 35:23Speaker 6: Ten thousand people and stuff.
- 35:25Speaker 5: But I think for us to just focus on us
- 35:27Speaker 5: and focus on the next couple of games to end
- 35:28Speaker 5: the year and pull ahead of them and.
- 35:32Speaker 6: Go into playoffs having that homelice advantage.
- 35:34Speaker 1: A quick final few questions for you personally here, Ryan,
- 35:38Speaker 1: who's your sort of favorite player growing up that you've
- 35:40Speaker 1: sort of tried to model your game after and maybe
- 35:43Speaker 1: somebody that you really look up to in the next level.
- 35:45Speaker 5: Yeah, I think the next level, like I think, and
- 35:48Speaker 5: watching my brother play at being around all those guys.
- 35:50Speaker 5: There was a lot of amazing players he played with,
- 35:52Speaker 5: like Specchnikoff, Mangy, Pawnie Morgan, Frost, Tyler Tucker.
- 35:55Speaker 6: So looking up those guys.
- 35:57Speaker 5: Being off ice with them, seeing their their character and
- 35:59Speaker 5: stuff off the ice, and what it takes to get
- 36:01Speaker 5: to the next level. I think looking up to them
- 36:03Speaker 5: was was really big to see firsthand what it takes
- 36:05Speaker 5: to get to the next level.
- 36:06Speaker 1: And you don't have to give me the worst if
- 36:08Speaker 1: you don't want to call it one of your teammates,
- 36:11Speaker 1: but the best and worst sewer players on London.
- 36:14Speaker 5: Oh, I'd say there's a couple of good players. I
- 36:16Speaker 5: think Henry is pretty good, Funk is good. I think
- 36:21Speaker 5: I think the worst has gotta be Van gor Up
- 36:23Speaker 5: for sure.
- 36:24Speaker 1: How was Max Cree?
- 36:25Speaker 6: He's good, He's pretty good.
- 36:27Speaker 1: He's a scrappy bulldog type guy, isn't he?
- 36:30Speaker 6: Oh yeah, he's not a liability in the sewer circle.
- 36:34Speaker 6: He's good.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Absolutely. There's Ryan Brown in London Nights. Ryan, really appreciate
- 36:39Speaker 1: you taking the time to join us. Best of luck
- 36:41Speaker 1: tomorrow night against Windsor and best of luck and gonna
- 36:43Speaker 1: be your first OHL Playoffs this season and all the
- 36:46Speaker 1: best obviously with your draft year as well. Really appreciate it.
- 36:50Speaker 6: Yeah, Arel, thanks for thanks for having me.
- 36:51Speaker 1: You're listening to the Armchair GM Sports Network.
