Wally's Mega Station Coming to Independence | Kansas City News
Wally’s is building the world’s largest gas station—54,000 square feet, 84 pumps, 12 electric car spots—with groundbreaking soon and completion slated for 2027. The city is backing it with a $12M funding package via bonds and a 23-year TIF district, designed to recoup costs through future tax revenue. The project also includes road upgrades, new landscaping, and parking, plus a potential 1% sales tax to cover gaps.
