- 0:26Speaker 2: What's up? Let me throw a couple of more yo
- 0:29Speaker 2: yo's in there. Hey us having family, it's your brother,
- 0:34Speaker 2: it's your boy, mister his Hot and you are now
- 0:38Speaker 2: locked into the His Hot radio show where faith meets
- 0:44Speaker 2: the beat in truth his the Street. Hey that Ryan,
- 0:50Speaker 2: That Ryan right there? I ain't even try that. There's
- 0:53Speaker 2: some bars, man or some bars. Well, today's topic, it's
- 0:58Speaker 2: pretty deep. We're gonna get wrong with it and it's
- 1:04Speaker 2: way overdue. So what we're gonna talk about today. We're
- 1:11Speaker 2: gonna talk about mental health and our faith. We're gonna
- 1:18Speaker 2: break the stigma in the church. We're getting real about depression.
- 1:26Speaker 2: We're gonna talk about anxiety, trauma and how the church
- 1:32Speaker 2: can do a little bit better in those areas. So
- 1:35Speaker 2: stick around because somebody is gonna get free today, right,
- 1:41Speaker 2: It's all about that freedom. We are free in Christ.
- 1:47Speaker 2: So we're talking about mental health, and this topic is
- 1:51Speaker 2: actually pretty close to me because that is the reason
- 2:00Speaker 2: why I was abused, combed up as a child. My mom.
- 2:06Speaker 2: They said she had a mental illness. They said that
- 2:10Speaker 2: she had paranoia, schizophrenia, and then what caused her to
- 2:16Speaker 2: be violent? One minute, she could be washing the dishes.
- 2:20Speaker 2: The next minute, she's throwing the dishes against the wall,
- 2:25Speaker 2: yelling at the top of her lungs. And as a child,
- 2:28Speaker 2: you think that she was upset with you. You think
- 2:33Speaker 2: that you were the reason why she was behaving this way.
- 2:40Speaker 2: But thankful, through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I've
- 2:47Speaker 2: been able to understand and receive the truth. And the
- 2:53Speaker 2: truth shall set us free. Amen. But to be honest.
- 2:58Speaker 2: For years, the church has labeled mental health struggles as
- 3:05Speaker 2: just purely spiritual issues. You know, if you got anxiety,
- 3:09Speaker 2: they just say, just pray more. If you're depressed, they'll
- 3:13Speaker 2: tell you you need more faith. Let's dig a little deeper,
- 3:19Speaker 2: and let's look at the word of God and see
- 3:22Speaker 2: what the Word of God has to say. As I
- 3:25Speaker 2: always say, grab your bibles, grab your notepads, grab your highlighters,
- 3:32Speaker 2: because this is what we do here on this podcast.
- 3:35Speaker 2: We dig deep. Man, We serve spiritual food because it's
- 3:42Speaker 2: the ingrafted word of God that is able to save
- 3:46Speaker 2: our souls. And that's all I'm concerned about, is soul saving.
- 3:50Speaker 2: This is a soul saving podcast. You know, what I'm saying.
- 3:55Speaker 2: So we have to do a little bit to graph
- 3:58Speaker 2: the word. We have to do a little bit of work,
- 4:02Speaker 2: and we have to memorize scripture. We have to do
- 4:05Speaker 2: some things and stuff. And so I actually got something
- 4:08Speaker 2: to help us with that as well. I'm gonna mention
- 4:11Speaker 2: that before we close out the little something something I
- 4:16Speaker 2: got to help us with the word in grafting the word. Okay, well,
- 4:20Speaker 2: I'll hope I'll give you enough time to grab your bibles,
- 4:24Speaker 2: your highlighters, and no pads. The first scripture we're gonna
- 4:30Speaker 2: look at is Tewo Timothy, chapter one, verse seven two
- 4:35Speaker 2: Timothy one, verse seven. For God has not given us
- 4:40Speaker 2: a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love,
- 4:46Speaker 2: and of a sound mind. This verse is often quoted,
- 4:51Speaker 2: but we miss the healing in the last phrase, a
- 4:56Speaker 2: sound mind. Right. God wants us to have a sound mind.
- 5:02Speaker 2: God values our mental health. What does sound mean. It
- 5:07Speaker 2: means whole. It means you're at peace if sound as
- 5:13Speaker 2: whole is solid. He wants our minds to be solid.
- 5:19Speaker 2: God doesn't shame us, He empowers us. God gives us space.
- 5:27Speaker 2: He doesn't want us to pany God wants us to
- 5:32Speaker 2: love He gives us love, not loneliness, and gives a
- 5:41Speaker 2: sanctity and not shame. All right, let's go to the
- 5:47Speaker 2: next verse. Psalms, chapter thirty four, Verse eighteen. The Lord
- 5:52Speaker 2: is near to those who have a broken heart and
- 5:56Speaker 2: saves such as have a con trite spirit. Contract is
- 6:02Speaker 2: like a broken spirit, or you're humble. You're broken over
- 6:05Speaker 2: a situation or a circumstance, or even your own deeds.
- 6:10Speaker 2: You realize that you are a sinner in your contrade
- 6:13Speaker 2: about it. You broke God's heart, and now your heart
- 6:17Speaker 2: is broken over it. You see that broken heart, and
- 6:22Speaker 2: the Hebrew means shattered, crushed. This is emotional pain. The
- 6:32Speaker 2: Lord is close to the mentally and emotionally shattered. You
- 6:37Speaker 2: say that again, the Lord is close to the mentally
- 6:43Speaker 2: and emotionally shattered. So don't hide. God comes closer when
- 6:52Speaker 2: your heart is hurting. He comes closer. Man. That's beautiful,
- 7:01Speaker 2: that is awesome. Now the role of faith in therapy.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Let's talk about that. You can love Jesus and have
- 7:13Speaker 2: a therapist at the same time. Mental illness doesn't mean
- 7:18Speaker 2: spiritual failure. Just like God uses surgeons to heal your body,
- 7:25Speaker 2: he can use counselors to heal your soul. And say
- 7:30Speaker 2: that again, just as God uses doctors surgeons to help
- 7:36Speaker 2: heal your body, he can also use counselors to help
- 7:42Speaker 2: heal your soul. But let me put a disclaimer out there.
- 7:47Speaker 2: I would seek out faith based, biblical based counselors. Don't
- 7:54Speaker 2: go to some whack job, some secular counselor that's gonna
- 7:58Speaker 2: try to get you to open up your third eye
- 8:01Speaker 2: or something weird like that. As long as it's biblically sound,
- 8:07Speaker 2: and if you think about it, that's what discipleship is
- 8:10Speaker 2: all about. Discipleship is pouring yourself to someone else's life
- 8:19Speaker 2: and allowing yourself to be used by God in helping
- 8:28Speaker 2: in the process of healing, in the process of restoration,
- 8:35Speaker 2: and in the process of growth. All right, Next verse
- 8:42Speaker 2: Proverbs chapter eleven, verse fourteen, where there is no counsel
- 8:49Speaker 2: the people fail, but in the multitude of counselors there
- 8:53Speaker 2: is safety. See that's scripture backing that up. Proverbs eleven fourteen,
- 9:02Speaker 2: where there is no counselor, the people fall, but in
- 9:07Speaker 2: the multitude of counselors there is safety. Sometimes the miracle
- 9:13Speaker 2: isn't instant. It could be a process. Counselors and therapists
- 9:20Speaker 2: are part of God's toolbox. Seeking help isn't weakness, it
- 9:26Speaker 2: is wisdom. Seeking help it is not weakness, it is wisdom.
- 9:33Speaker 2: There's a safety in council. There's a security in council.
- 9:42Speaker 2: And once again, let me put a disclaimer out there.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Why is counsel that is biblically based a man or
- 9:49Speaker 2: a woman of God who is spiritually matured able to
- 9:54Speaker 2: pour into you?
- 9:57Speaker 1: Now?
- 9:58Speaker 2: Hebrews Chapter four, verse fifteen. We do not have a
- 10:03Speaker 2: high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses. But as
- 10:09Speaker 2: in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Let me say that again. But was in all points
- 10:20Speaker 2: tempted as we are or without sin? Jesus himself was tempted.
- 10:28Speaker 2: He was tempted in all points. Jesus understands emotional pain.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Remember the scripture says that Jesus well right, Jesus wept.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Jesus cried. Jesus was weeping. Jesus felt rejection. He knows
- 10:53Speaker 2: how it feels to be rejected. He sweated blood and
- 11:01Speaker 2: get semony from emotional pressure. He knows exactly how you feel,
- 11:12Speaker 2: and he doesn't condemn you. He relates to you. That's beautiful,
- 11:21Speaker 2: can relate to you. He knows what you've been through,
- 11:27Speaker 2: he knows what you're dealing with. So if you are
- 11:37Speaker 2: having some type of emotional struggles right now, reach out
- 11:45Speaker 2: to him, seek out godly counselor seek out people who
- 11:51Speaker 2: can help you. Read books, go exercise, go work out,
- 11:56Speaker 2: do something that will help build up your mental defense.
- 12:08Speaker 2: With that, I want to go ahead and go to
- 12:11Speaker 2: music break. I have Tyson James on deck. It's the
- 12:17Speaker 2: song give It to God. And you know what that
- 12:23Speaker 2: goes right with the topic. You just get into it
- 12:26Speaker 2: right here on It's How Radio podcast.
- 12:31Speaker 3: This place that we live for a small amount of time.
- 12:34Speaker 3: These things we think we could take with us when
- 12:35Speaker 3: we die, they don't last. Keep your rise on the price,
- 12:40Speaker 3: man were looking at it round, But we gotta stay focused.
- 12:43Speaker 3: This life about a moment.
- 12:44Speaker 2: I don't want to let that pass.
- 12:45Speaker 4: I want to own it.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Looking into the grass, you see the opponent on it.
- 12:48Speaker 3: You want to see you in change, You want to
- 12:50Speaker 3: see you in the flame. But you're gonna be with
- 12:52Speaker 3: the saints. You gotta go throw all the pain you're
- 12:53Speaker 3: living in now. But the die is a gang. I
- 12:56Speaker 3: think about it happening a lot, and I'm going to.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Do it for Guidland.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Do it for Gatland one they're telling, I'm giving it.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Do that.
- 13:01Speaker 5: I get it.
- 13:02Speaker 3: I have to see you when pepadie the same the
- 13:04Speaker 3: game in the pearad dice.
- 13:05Speaker 2: I don't really get it. Be verified. I'm aware.
- 13:07Speaker 3: The night is what your man sight. With your faith
- 13:10Speaker 3: in the Father Father, forget the world and don't bother fither.
- 13:12Speaker 2: If you think it's how the.
- 13:13Speaker 3: Hell's hiding, You're done for one drink of water. You
- 13:16Speaker 3: don't want to be a rich man.
- 13:17Speaker 2: You blinking.
- 13:18Speaker 3: He's thinking any quick saying if you're reaching up, God
- 13:20Speaker 3: got a big hand, so render to him.
- 13:21Speaker 4: And his big playing play.
- 13:23Speaker 1: How do we fall on unhearted times? We want to
- 13:25Speaker 1: wait the sober minds.
- 13:26Speaker 2: We gotta look for peace with him.
- 13:28Speaker 4: Do all the evil we wait and to see him.
- 13:29Speaker 3: With temp of your world, to sell up the side
- 13:31Speaker 3: the wait that we care, give it to God and
- 13:33Speaker 3: give it to just give it to God.
- 13:37Speaker 4: This squirrel, well, if you find so hard to see
- 13:42Speaker 4: us side, so the light down.
- 13:46Speaker 1: One day I.
- 13:47Speaker 4: Find you and per God they want keep you fight.
- 13:55Speaker 4: Welde sonder to the light and one day I'll find
- 14:01Speaker 4: you in perdis Ah.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Won't we lessen the transits?
- 14:06Speaker 2: Hey, I'm finding no senses.
- 14:07Speaker 3: Stuck in the stream, big machine make you defenseless.
- 14:11Speaker 6: Transhumanism is that mechanism is shaking your feet till your break.
- 14:14Speaker 6: But digital God that you on your knees. But it
- 14:16Speaker 6: ain't you late, hey, only by the blood of a regime.
- 14:19Speaker 6: See that the lights of the smoke scream. If you're
- 14:21Speaker 6: in the US, spring for the sheep to turn it.
- 14:23Speaker 1: The high king.
- 14:24Speaker 4: We gotta find the strength, turn out.
- 14:26Speaker 6: My way and get ways. The needle is legal. They
- 14:28Speaker 6: fishing the needle. Yeah, they on a cruciade. And so
- 14:32Speaker 6: just give it to God. Give it to God, Give
- 14:36Speaker 6: it to God.
- 14:39Speaker 4: Give it the God.
- 14:40Speaker 7: Give it to God.
- 14:42Speaker 4: Give it to God.
- 14:45Speaker 6: And now that we fall in the harder times, we
- 14:47Speaker 6: want to wake the sober minds.
- 14:48Speaker 1: We gotta look the peace with them.
- 14:50Speaker 6: The water evil when you're hit, the sin maturial world,

- 15:29Speaker 7: Give it the God, Give it the God. People said,
- 15:34Speaker 7: give it the God. Yeah, find you and pard if God,
- 15:50Speaker 7: now find you and pair, Oh God.
- 16:14Speaker 5: Give it over to God. Come on, that's what I'm
- 16:19Speaker 5: talking about.
- 16:21Speaker 2: One day we will be together in paradise. I love it.
- 16:30Speaker 2: I love it. I love it. I love it. And
- 16:34Speaker 2: very appropriate for the topic today, we're talking about mental
- 16:40Speaker 2: health and our faith. Is nothing wrong with seeking godly counselors.
- 16:49Speaker 2: There's nothing wrong asking for help. There's nothing wrong for
- 17:00Speaker 2: the reaching out. Just make sure reaching out to the
- 17:07Speaker 2: right people. That's all I'm saying. We got to reach
- 17:13Speaker 2: out to the right people. Amen. Amen, Now it's time
- 17:24Speaker 2: for up to the day. You don't have like to say,
- 17:30Speaker 2: you know, to the disclaimer out there, put the warning
- 17:34Speaker 2: out there. This joke may be corny. You may be
- 17:38Speaker 2: entering into the corny zone, you know what I'm saying.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Either way, let's see what we got.
- 17:50Speaker 1: What do we got?
- 17:53Speaker 2: Okay, here's a good one. Here is a good one.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Why didn't Pharaoh believe God? Let me say it again.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Why didn't the Pharaoh believe God? If you guys remember
- 18:12Speaker 2: the story of Moses. Moses told Pharaoh to let my
- 18:17Speaker 2: people go. If Pharaoh refused, the ten plagues hit Egypt,
- 18:29Speaker 2: the bread sea, all that good stuff. So why didn't
- 18:31Speaker 2: Pharaoh believe God? The answer is because he was in denial?
- 18:44Speaker 2: Get it the dash n I.
- 18:48Speaker 1: L e Denial, Denile river. All right, all right, all right,

- 23:03Speaker 2: All right, I'll write the topic is mental hellness, mental health.
- 23:16Speaker 2: You get my words together in your faith, so just
- 23:22Speaker 2: jump back into the topic really quick. Now, let's face
- 23:30Speaker 2: some hard truth right now. Many churches have unintentionally silence
- 23:41Speaker 2: hurting people by labeling mental health as a sin. When
- 23:47Speaker 2: you say this again, many churches have unintentionally silence the
- 23:54Speaker 2: people who are hurting in our congregation because he labeled
- 24:01Speaker 2: mental health as a sin. God is calling us to
- 24:09Speaker 2: be a safe space, not a judgment zone. And you
- 24:14Speaker 2: say that again. God is calling us to be a
- 24:17Speaker 2: safe space and not a judgment zone. Let us get
- 24:25Speaker 2: Isaiah twenty six, verse three. Isaiah twenty six, verse three.
- 24:30Speaker 2: You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is
- 24:35Speaker 2: stayed on you because he trusts in you. This verse
- 24:41Speaker 2: doesn't ignore mental stress. The promise is that peace is
- 24:47Speaker 2: possible when you stay connected to the source. That doesn't
- 24:52Speaker 2: mean ignore the pain. It means take your pain to him,
- 24:58Speaker 2: Take your pain to the right place. Take your pain
- 25:06Speaker 2: to the only place, or should I say, to the
- 25:12Speaker 2: only person who can take it away, who can help you,
- 25:17Speaker 2: where your help comes from. If this message has blessed you,
- 25:25Speaker 2: partner with us. Go to his hour nation dot com
- 25:29Speaker 2: download the his Hot radio app. We are mentoring the youth,
- 25:36Speaker 2: feeding families, visiting detention centers, and now developing faith based

- 25:54Speaker 2: we are a nonprofit organization. If you want to bless
- 26:01Speaker 2: us and sew into this ministry, you can do that
- 26:07Speaker 2: at his Hot nation dot com. Ten dollars five dollars.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Anything can help us keep this movement going. We are
- 26:17Speaker 2: looking to reopen Club His Hop Las Vegas. So yes,
- 26:21Speaker 2: we do have a building fund and if God is
- 26:25Speaker 2: putting it on your heart, we do have a cash
- 26:27Speaker 2: app dollar sign Mister his hob dollar sign. Mr period
- 26:33Speaker 2: h I S A H O P. If you want
- 26:38Speaker 2: to support us that way, we appreciate every dime, nickel
- 26:44Speaker 2: and penny. We do not take it for granted at all.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Now I want to before we close out, I want
- 26:56Speaker 2: to pray. Wanna pray for everyone under the sound of
- 27:02Speaker 2: my voice. If God has touched you, because God is
- 27:07Speaker 2: helping you, you hope that you are encouraged to seek help.
- 27:14Speaker 2: If you're dealing with mental illness, I don't even want
- 27:19Speaker 2: to call it mental illness, probably mental struggles, you know
- 27:22Speaker 2: what I mean. But let's pray. Father, he looks up
- 27:30Speaker 2: every person battling depression anxiety with TSD in every invisible struggle.
- 27:41Speaker 2: Show them that they are not alone. Surround them with
- 27:45Speaker 2: safe people. Let the church rise up in compassion. You
- 27:53Speaker 2: rebuke the stigma. You speak healing over their minds in
- 28:01Speaker 2: Jesus' name, Amen and Amen, don't suffer in silence. God
- 28:14Speaker 2: sees your pain, and so do we right here on

- 29:03Speaker 2: early in life. But thank God I found Christ at
- 29:07Speaker 2: the age of fifteen. The person who is supposed to
- 29:12Speaker 2: nurture you, the person who brought you into this world,
- 29:17Speaker 2: is the main person that brought most pain and trauma,
- 29:20Speaker 2: anxiety and fear in my life. But it was through
- 29:27Speaker 2: my faith in Christ I was able to survive this.
- 29:37Speaker 2: He is my source, He is my strength, he is
- 29:41Speaker 2: my acceptance. He is close to the broken hearted. He
- 29:47Speaker 2: is a lover of my soul. He sticks closer than
- 29:51Speaker 2: a brother. He is all that. And if you don't
- 29:55Speaker 2: know Christ, I invite you to get to know him today. Real,
- 30:01Speaker 2: This is real, This is not a joke, and he
- 30:04Speaker 2: wants to come and he wants to heal.
- 30:06Speaker 3: You.

- 30:27Speaker 2: the resources you need to help you need. Just don't
- 30:32Speaker 2: keep suffering in silence, Just don't keep speaking that it's
