- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Dog's Podcast with your hosts, Lake Renaker, Justin Charles, and Josh All.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, what's up, brown fans?
- 0:19[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back to another episode of the Dogs Podcast.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_01]: Josh, all your host and little better, doing a little better today, but when I say little, I do mean just a little bit.
- 0:31[SPEAKER_01]: This cold, this flu, this crud, is just hanging on and kicking my tail like crazy this week.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_01]: But I do have more energy today, and while my voice doesn't sound to me like it's normal, maybe it sounds like that to you.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how it's coming through.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_01]: But either way, we're going to do this thing.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_01]: I talked to you guys earlier this week.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_01]: And I said, I wanted to bring you this episode where I break down the Cleveland Browns roster as it currently stands.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: Now, we're heading into free agency very soon.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: What is today, February 19th?
- 1:03[SPEAKER_01]: So we've got a couple weeks until free agency opens up the legal tampering period starts and all that kind of stuff.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_01]: And then we'll get a better idea
- 1:11[SPEAKER_01]: based on what the Browns do and the moves, they make what we're gearing up for or what we should expect at least to come in the draft.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_01]: So do they go heavy on the offensive line and free agency like I anticipate they will?
- 1:25[SPEAKER_01]: Does that mean we're free to maybe explore a little more wider receiver allocation of draft capitals, stuff like that and April will see how it goes.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: you know I've been doing these mock drafts and they're fun and it's a great exercise and it's really good to do and I appreciate you guys tuning in and all of your feedback for all of that stuff but it will get a wow see there goes my voice it will get a lot easier to do those mock draft exercises once we know where they've put their cap space in free agency in which players they were able to obtain
- 2:01[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll see how it goes.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like my voice is just going to keep giving out all sudden randomly on me this morning.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to keep barreling through if the video, if you're listening on audio, probably just sounds like crap.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: You probably already turned it off.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: If the video is stopping and starting and cutting hard and everything that's because I'm probably one hacking my brains out and I got to take a quick pause.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_01]: or my voice is just caving mostly how it goes but anyway make sure you guys go to join the dogs dot com if you want to be part of the dog pack community hang out with the die hard brown fans in there 24 seven chat it's great to think up with that discord and uh we do the discord dog pack live episodes in there obviously didn't do one this week because nobody wants any more of me than they have to uh listen to anyway and you get fantasy football when that rules around
- 2:48[SPEAKER_01]: you know the dynasty leagues have recycled and are back in full swing and it's just a great time great place to be so join the dogs dot com the first thing i want to just touch on a couple news and notes today obviously because at the end of monday's episode i mentioned how the brown still hadn't hired a defensive coordinator and then
- 3:06[SPEAKER_01]: like as I was editing the episode and getting it ready to go out to you guys right after that I got the news that we hired Mike Routenberg.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: So the Browns did fill the defensive coordinator position.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_01]: We get Mike Routenberg the defensive passing the defensive passing game coordinator.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_01]: I'm such specialist coordinator from the Atlanta Falcon.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: So Kevin Stefanski goes to Atlanta and takes
- 3:36[SPEAKER_01]: from Falcons fans and their media, they're not thrilled about losing Mike Routenberg off of their defensive staff.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_01]: This is a guy who was in Jacksonville with the Jaguiers for, I want to say a year or two, when Todd Munkin was the Ytersever coach there, back in now, geez, 20, I don't know, 16 or 17, something like that.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_01]: And then, remember, went to the 49ers, worked under Robert Sala, and then,
- 4:11[SPEAKER_01]: had a good relationship with Sala whenever the jets hired Sala to be their head coach Rutenberg followed him to New York and went to be the linebackers coach in New York from 2001 to 2024 then obviously last year in 2025 hired on in Atlanta as the defense of passing game coordinator Jeff Ulbrick the DC down in Atlanta has I believe it was him I was reading the quote he was telling people in the past like
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: They call him Rudy.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_01]: So my group in Berg, if you hear me say Rudy, apparently that's his nickname is Rudy, then he was saying, Hey, Rudy's a great coach.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: He's a phenomenal teacher.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_01]: They call him a PhD of the secondary.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: Like he's just got such a great knowledge and understanding of the secondary.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: And if you remember last year, Atlanta secondary was great Xavier Watts, who I bitch about all the time on the show.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: I wish we had him instead of telling Gabriel in the third round.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_01]: led all rookies and interceptions that he had five, and that defense was just really stellar down there in Atlanta for a lot of the season until some injuries took place over the back half and all that stuff, but still a great defense and yeah, we'll get back to what I was saying, Ulbrick had told people that this guy will be a defensive coordinator at some point.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he's not going to be a position coach or passing game coordinator.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_01]: forever like this is a guy who is destined to be defensive coordinator running his own unit they call him high energy and from what i can understand and i don't i don't break down film really i don't go into schematics and all this stuff you guys know that if you watch the show that's not what this is all about here but yeah this voice of mine sucks anyway sorry i'm gonna power through
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: Mike Rutenberg though.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_01]: For what I understand, the scheme, the essential way the Brown's structure their defense with the players we have and the way we want to run the defense and attack and things like that isn't going to change.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: It might be more so the way I'm reading about how he's really good at disguising things.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe he can come in here.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: and cover up some of these deficiencies that Jim Schwartz had with this defense when he was the coordinator.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_01]: If you remember, we talk all the time.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_01]: Under Jim Schwartz's defense couldn't stop a freak and pat or jet sweep or reverse like simple things that you would think we would have an answer for.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: We just couldn't do so hopefully rooting burgers able to come in here.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: and just put this defense together a little more cohesively from what I'm reading and what I've seen is keeping most of if not all the defensive staff intact.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so the players and their position coaches, the communication, I feel like a lot of the verb it should be similar if anything
- 7:00[SPEAKER_01]: What the secondary guys like Denzel Ward guys like Tyson Campbell what those guys are able to do on the back end of the defense so for that I am excited to see how this goes now
- 7:13[SPEAKER_01]: Like anything, it's like with the rest of our coachings to have right now.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_01]: They're all first timers.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, Todd Monk and first time head coach.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_01]: Now he's not a first time play caller, which is good, but he's first time head coach.
- 7:27[SPEAKER_01]: You've got Travis Switzerland, the offensive coordinator, first time offensive coordinator.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: My group and bird first time defensive coordinator, and Byron's store is a first time special teams coordinator.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_01]: So it is,
- 7:40[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to be open-minded about it and say, okay, there's a chance this thing could work out really well, there's a chance it could be really, really bad.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to lie to you guys, like, let's, let's be real about this as fans.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_01]: We've, if we've been Browns fans, like, I have the most of you have for a long time.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_01]: You know, things don't usually play out our way all the time.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: And I guess that kind of, that's a good segue into the main topic for today about this Browns roster because
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: I listen, I read your comments and stuff and I know that there's people out there that hate when we talk anything negative about the Browns, which again, it's the Browns guys, I, how do we, there's no way to fan for this team without being negative at times and honestly being negative.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: is really just being realistic and telling it like it is a lot of the case because that you don't go what's it been three winning seasons in the last 27 years or something like that?
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah that's that's that's not good.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: That's not the result of making a lot of good decisions and having a lot of good things happen for your team.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: So PSA little trigger warning for some of you out there I guess who are sensitive to negativity on the show.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_01]: This is going to be a bad one.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_01]: This is not going to be a touchy feely, you know, make me all happy about this brownsteam head in the 2026 type of episode.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_01]: This is going to be a smack you in the face with reality type of episode.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_01]: If there's a positive spin on what I'm about to go through with this roster, let me know what you guys see it as because I certainly don't.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_01]: And here's why.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_01]: So the Browns currently have 32 players with expiring contracts heading into the New League year which, if I'm looking at this correctly, starts on March 11th.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: Excuse me, March 11th at 4 o'clock, PM, Eastern, Standard Time.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: So if the Browns don't do anything, or negotiate anything with these players, with these, of expiring contract guys ahead of that date, they will become free agents.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_01]: So let me go through.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: That's a lot.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: I guess is what I'm trying to get at there.
- 10:04[SPEAKER_01]: 32 players on expiring contracts.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_01]: that's a lot that is a lot so let's go look at the state of the roster position by position really simple and as we go through this just drop in the comments what you guys are thinking okay because I I thought that the browns were going to be okay let me just give them let me tell you little spoiler here let me tell you how I went into this
- 10:30[SPEAKER_01]: I was obviously real sick the other day sitting on the couch and I'm like, why I need to do something that I can't sit down and record anything.
- 10:36[SPEAKER_01]: I'm couch-ridden, I can't move.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: So I just started doing some research and I started putting this list together on the roster and I was like, okay, well, let's just see who's going to be a free agent, who we have under contract and what we really need, because I want to put some free agency episodes together for you guys and all that kind of stuff.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_01]: And as I was going through each position and breaking it down, every position I was like, well, we definitely need to get some guys at this position.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_01]: Next position, crap, we need guys here too.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: Next position, position, crap, we don't have any starters here.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: and it went through the entire roster.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: So I went into it with a misconception that the Browns weren't in too bad of a situation overall, we just really need to overhaul the offense.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like they've said, no guys listen, what we're about to learn here together is the Browns need players everywhere across the board.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: So here we go.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: Starting at the quarterback position on offense, we have Shador Sanders, Deshawn Watson, and Dylan Gabriel under contract.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: So those are three players.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_01]: And we've got practice squad right now.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_01]: Bailey's happy, okay?
- 11:42[SPEAKER_01]: So four quarterbacks, essentially, three and a practice squad guy.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_01]: now you can say is the starter on this team is a starter not on this team whenever I go through the rest of these positions it really makes me think or makes my opinion even stronger that we need to not mess around with the whole quarterback thing this offseason.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_01]: Quit with the milk, will-a-stuff, quit with the Kyler Murray crap, quit with all this other stuff.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_01]: You've got three quarterbacks under contract who can start for you this year.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_01]: I want to see Shidorah Sanders because I like what I saw last year.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: I'm tired of having a rookie quarterback coming here, show that he can play, just need some more time, experience, and development, and then we bail on him right away.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_01]: Why do we keep doing that?
- 12:26[SPEAKER_01]: So, that's where I'm at with quarterback.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_01]: draft pick you want to use people out there I see these mock dress people want to use a second round pick or a third round pick on Garrett Nussmire or Drew Aller or something.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care if you use like a fit there or six round pick on those guys don't you dare use one of my top 100 picks on another freaking quarterback.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_01]: That has to develop and is a project and doesn't even have a ceiling, like, stop it, browns, stop it.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think it quarterback is kind of crazy to think as I go through this quarterbacks, one of the only positions where I'm like, I don't think we need to add anything right now.
- 13:03[SPEAKER_01]: This episode is partnered with Kaoshi.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_01]: Browns fans are you ready to put your money where your predictions are, with Kaoshi, America's number one regulated prediction marky you can legally trade on events that actually matter to you.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_01]: And the best part is you don't need to predict specific stat lines and compile a seven-like parlay just to win big.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: With Kaoshi the objective is either yes or no.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_01]: Will Shidorah Sanders be the Browns week one starting quarterback?
- 13:29[SPEAKER_01]: Will Fernando Mendoza be the first overall pick in the draft?
- 13:32[SPEAKER_01]: Will the Browns make their pick at six or will they trade out of that spot?
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: And in other sports, will the calves win the NBA Finals?
- 13:38[SPEAKER_01]: You can put your money on these predictions and more with CalShe if you want to try it out.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: CalShe is giving $10 to anyone who signs up at calshe.com-slashdogs and trades $100.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: Get away from disadvantageous sportsbooks and dive into real-world outcomes with real-time odds and real payouts.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: or just click the link in the description to get $10 when you trade 100 with Kalshi because why shouldn't you get paid for being right?
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: Moving into running back.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: Quince on Judkins, obviously coming off of the injury so we don't know exactly when he's going to be available on how effective he's going to be right away.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: You might take a little time.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: We've got him, Dylan Samson, and Rahim Sanders.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: Those are the only three running backs currently under contract with the Brown Juved gotics a reserve futures contract with a money marshal.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_01]: and then there's drum for it and travy on worms are both unrestricted free agents.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_01]: And I guess before I go any further, let me break down a couple other things that I'm gonna be talking about.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: So we've got unrestricted free agents, which is any player with four more crude seasons and their contract has expired.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: They are free to negotiate and sign with any team.
- 15:00[SPEAKER_01]: So that's an unrestricted free agent.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_01]: They can sign with anybody they want.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_01]: They're their time with their current team is over.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_01]: restricted free agent, which we've got a few of those, a player with three accrued seasons and an expired contract.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: So restricted free agents are free to negotiate and sign with any team.
- 15:19[SPEAKER_01]: The same is an unrestricted free agent, but here's the caveat.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_01]: The original team can offer them one of various qualifying offers or tenders that come with the right of first refusal and or draft pit compensation.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: The Browns, if they've got a restrictive free agent, they can put a first round, second round, a original round, right, a first refusal tender.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_01]: On that, so let's just use this for example.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm gonna get to defense obviously in a little bit, but Ronnie Hickman is the biggest example of this.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: He's a restrictive free agent.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_01]: He was an undrafted free agent.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_01]: He had a three-year deal.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_01]: He played those three years, his contract is up.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_01]: It is expired.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_01]: So if the Brown said, well, let's put a right of first refusal tender on Ronnie Hickman.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_01]: That's a one year contract worth $3.23, sorry, $3.26 million.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_01]: The Brown's have the right to match any offer sheet that Ronnie Hickman would sign with another team, but there is no draft compensation tied to this tender meaning if Ronnie Hickman were to then sign with another team that team would have to give us like a seventh round pick or something, I don't know.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_01]: So there's a little bit more control over a restricted free agent and then there's an exclusive rights for the agent, which is any player with fewer than three accrued seasons and an expired contract.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_01]: The original team offers a one-year contract at the League minimum.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_01]: The player cannot negotiate with other teams.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_01]: So if we have an exclusive rights for the agent and we offer him a League minimum contract, he has to take it or sit out for the season.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: He cannot sign anywhere else.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: So it's exclusive to the Browns.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_01]: So I wanted to go through what those definitions were before I got too far.
- 17:07[SPEAKER_01]: into this stuff, but we've got, again, at running back quench on Dylan Samson, Reem Sanders are the three-under contract.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_01]: Again, we've got these reserve futures deals, which are just kind of like, we want you to come back in the summer and try to get back on the practice squad type of thing.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: So that's a money marshal, big woop.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_01]: Jerome Ford's ravey on Williams are unrestricted free ages.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_01]: So if I just call them a free agent, that means they're unrestricted in music and just sign with anybody that they please.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: So there's your running back situation.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_01]: Now let's move over to wider severs.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_01]: It's Jerry Judy, Cedric Tilman, Isaiah Bond, Engage Larvadan.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: Those are your only wider severs currently under contract.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_01]: Jerry Judy, Cedric Tilman, Isaiah Bond, Engage Larvadan.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_01]: You've got a reserve future deal with two guys, Luke Floria and Isaiah Wooden.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: You've got a free agent and deAndre Carter.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_01]: And then you've got exclusive rights free agent.
- 18:04[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, this is where if the Browns offer them that one year league minimum deal, they have to take it.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_01]: and it's Malachi Corley and Jamari Thresh.
- 18:11[SPEAKER_01]: So I do expect those two to be back.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_01]: It would make, I'd be surprised if they didn't bring Malachi Corley back.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_01]: I thought what he showed last year was worth bringing back and seeing what it could develop into.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not, I don't think he's ever gonna be a high level player for your offense, but I think he can definitely have a role in your offense.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: He just needs some more time and some more honestly, some more trust.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_01]: Give him the ball a little bit more.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that Malachi Corley can do some things.
- 18:39[SPEAKER_01]: He just needs to grow a little bit into the NFL.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_01]: And I think he'll be okay.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_01]: So again, Judy Tillman, Bond, Lava Dan, that is it.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_01]: You've got, oh, I'm sorry, Skipped over, Practice Squad, Kate, and Davis.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_01]: Reserve futures with Florida and Wooden, DeAndrey Carter's out the door and free agency, and then you've got exclusive rights with Malachi Corley and Jimari Thresh.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_01]: whole list of names that don't instill any confidence in me whatsoever as far as production on the field overall.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_01]: So now let's move to the next position, tight end.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_01]: Who do we have under contract going into 2026 at tight end?
- 19:20[SPEAKER_01]: Harold Fan and Jr.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: and nobody.
- 19:25[SPEAKER_01]: That's it.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: Harold Fanon Jr.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't think the Browns need serious help at tight end and free agency end in the draft, you guys are nuts.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_01]: Todd Munkin runs a ton of 12 personnel.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_01]: The Browns need some sort of inline traditional archetype blocking tight end.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: That's not Harold Fanon.
- 19:45[SPEAKER_01]: I know a lot of people, well, Harold Fanon, he's just, he's tight end one now.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_01]: We don't need in Joker.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: They play completely different styles of tight end.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_01]: Their roles were different for this team.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_01]: Fanon was doing things that honestly, David Joker just can't do.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_01]: And David Joker was doing things that Harold Fanon cannot do.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why it was a good pairing.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_01]: Well, David and Jo Koo obviously already announced he's not coming back to the team.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_01]: So he's a free agent.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_01]: We've got reserve future deals with Sal canella and Caden pre-scorn, okay, who cares?
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: Restricted free agent, Blake, Blake, white heart, and then exclusive rights for agent, Brendan Bates.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_01]: So again, we need help here.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_01]: Badly, I'd tell you that none of these guys are going to make any sort of
- 20:32[SPEAKER_01]: Difference making impact for you on the field outside a hero fanon and that's the only one we really haven't even have under contract So it's not not a good situation to tell you then then you move to center Okay, let's go to the offensive line start in the middle at center Luke Whippler and Kingsley a guacan those are your only centers Currently under contract on this roster Practice squad guy is Darian Dow court and then Ethan posts it gives a free agent
- 21:00[SPEAKER_01]: So that's it, at center.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_01]: So the Browns don't add one in free agency or in the draft.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's Luke Whitt, Whiplier, and I don't think it's going to be a kingly, a guican, whoever that is.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_01]: Moving over to guard.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_01]: Remember, we have play two of these guys, two guards.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_01]: Under contract currently, Zack Zinter and Kendrick Green.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, that's it.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_01]: Zag's enter and Kendrick Green are your only two guys on the roster at the guard position.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_01]: You've got Jack Conley who's a reserve future deal and then Wesley French is on the practice squad.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_01]: Joel Batonio, Wyatt Teller and Tevin Jenkins are all free agents.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: And yes, I've seen many people on Twitter, especially X, talking about how well we'll just play Tevin Jenkins at guard.
- 21:49[SPEAKER_01]: He's still here.
- 21:50[SPEAKER_01]: Now he's not, he's a free agent.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_01]: He's a free agent.
- 21:54[SPEAKER_01]: 92, 3, the fan.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_01]: I saw a post from them where they were listing out who the potential starters could be on the offensive line.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_01]: They're like, well, obviously, you don't have Jenkins at a guard.
- 22:01[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, well, obviously, he's a free agent.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: Hence, I swear people don't look this stuff up before they talk about it.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_01]: Tevin Jenkins is a free agent.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_01]: An unrestricted free agent.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_01]: Meaning he don't have to sign here.
- 22:15[SPEAKER_01]: He can go wherever he please.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: So again,
- 22:19[SPEAKER_01]: I've just done the center in the guard position to the offensive line and you're looking at Luke Whipler, Kingsley Aguicun, Zack Zinter and Kendrick Green are the players on your roster.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_01]: And then let's go over to tackle.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_01]: Who do we currently have under contract at Tackle?
- 22:37[SPEAKER_01]: Dawan Jones, Jack Conquant, who's probably going to be cut.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_01]: Cornelius Lucas who was so ass last year that he was an active pretty much every game and K. T. Leveston I believe is the 31st ranked.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_01]: Right tackle out of 32 in most pressures allowed or something.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_01]: I was seeing the stat on Twitter the other day.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_01]: So great, good, good, good job there.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_01]: So we've got, and I guess there's this other guy, Jeremiah Byers, I don't know, he's also under contract.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_01]: He was probably called up from the practice squad and they haven't moved back.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_01]: I don't really know whatever.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_01]: He's listed as on the roster.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_01]: And then you've got a reserve future deal with Tyre Phillips.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_01]: And your free agent is Cam Robinson, who was, I believe, 32 out of 32 left tackles in pressure rate allowed.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: So the Browns tackles last year were terrible.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: And one thing I did want to mention, I guess what we're talking about offensive line as a quick aside, just for you guys to mull over and think about.
- 23:39[SPEAKER_01]: You guys tell me if I'm crazy about this.
- 23:42[SPEAKER_01]: But I can't help think, I know we dogged the offensive line all season and how bad they were in the fall off and they've gotten old and all this stuff.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_01]: But how much of their poor play?
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not, I'm not making excuses here.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_01]: There was a lot of the offensive line play that was just, they sucked.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_01]: But how much of their poor play was could be attributed to the fact that opposing defenses likely knew what we were running?
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: Because Kevin Stephansky's offense had gotten so stale.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_01]: So predictable, go back and watch that Houston Texan's wild card game where the defense was calling out our plays before we would run them.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_01]: If it was happening back in 2023,
- 24:30[SPEAKER_01]: pretty sure defenses are still able to figure out what we're doing or get a good anticipation of what we're going to run in 2025.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_01]: And if the defense can anticipate what you're going to run on offense, they get a head start on your line.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_01]: They're going to blow up plays in the backfield because they've got an advantage.
- 24:51[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know how much of the poor play was attributed to that and how much was just
- 24:58[SPEAKER_01]: This goes to my guy Wyatt Teller, who also announced now an Instagram the other day that he won't be returning to the team, which we, we knew he wasn't coming back, he wasn't going to be
- 25:09[SPEAKER_01]: with the Browns.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_01]: And he left a very heartfelt farewell and everything.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he really built his family here in Cleveland and built his home and his life and loves the Northeast Ohio area, which is it's cool.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_01]: Whenever you guys just really like it here and want to be here, the Browns don't want anything to do with why a teller.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_01]: And I will be watching this year to see where he goes and how he plays where he goes.
- 25:35[SPEAKER_01]: Because if he's back to being why a teller that we know
- 25:39[SPEAKER_01]: on the field that I'm going to tell you guys right now.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of the deficiencies we saw with this offensive line in this offense overall was due to Kevin's defense against his scheme.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_01]: I'll leave that here between just me and you guys because I can't really bring that kind of stuff up on the main show as you guys know.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_01]: So going back here then to recap
- 26:10[SPEAKER_01]: The Browns have got to take cap space and dollars and go hard in the paint after these freaking guys in free agency.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_01]: Me and Kenny Macker plan in a free agency preview show next Tuesday where we'll break down a lot of these positional guys in free agency and their projected contract values and who we think the Brown should go after and who would be a good fit or whether we should just we just need bodies at some of these spots.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_01]: So what we'll do that, because currently the Brown's offensive line, if you just kind of break it down at the tackles.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: To Juan Jones, I don't want to count Jack Conklin.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'm doing this because I don't think he's going to be here.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I think Jack Conklin will be released.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know when that's got to happen if it's before the start of the league year, I'll have to look that up.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_01]: But don't count on Jack Conflon.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_01]: I won't count on him even if he is here because he won't be healthy anyway.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_01]: Same with the one Jones.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_01]: So you got the one Jones Cornelius Lucas, Katie Leviston, Jeremiah Byers.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_01]: There are your tackles under contract.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_01]: Going to guard, Zach Zinter, Kendrick Green.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_01]: There are your guards under contract.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_01]: And then center is a Luke Whitler and Kingsley a Gouacun.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_01]: Andrew Barry has done such a piss-pored job loading this roster with any sort of depth at the offensive line position.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's disgusting.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_01]: You guys just heard the list.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_01]: You heard the names I read.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_01]: Are any of those guys starters?
- 27:39[SPEAKER_01]: Could any of those guys be a starter on a good offensive line?
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, sure.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_01]: They could come in and start for the 32nd ranked offensive line in the league.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_01]: Hell yeah.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_01]: doesn't take much to be the worst.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_01]: Could any of those guys legitimately be starters on what we want to see as a good offensive line?
- 27:59[SPEAKER_01]: And I know some people will say, to one Jones, I don't know, guys.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_01]: I have zero faith in the one Jones, and I love Big Thanos, he's a Ohio State.
- 28:10[SPEAKER_01]: Fuck guy, I think he's just a good dude.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_01]: He's just massive, just beastly, basketball background, like I love the one Jones, I really do.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_01]: I can't rely on the Juan Jones.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_01]: I can't.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_01]: He's got three season ending injuries in a row.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_01]: This is the final year on his rookie deal already.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he's here past this year.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_01]: I would love it if the Juan Jones was simply the swing tackle.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_01]: The backup swing tackle because we got two new starters this year.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_01]: I'll side of that.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, okay, I know some people are just kind of penceling in Luke Whiplier at Center.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_01]: How confident are we in that?
- 28:45[SPEAKER_01]: I like him too, obviously.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_01]: He came in with the Juan Jones in the same draft, another buck I, again, final year on his rookie contract.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_01]: So we don't have any sort of sustainable Depth on this offensive line.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's in shambles.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_01]: It all needs rebuild 100%.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_01]: It is it is a clear to me, a clear indictment on just
- 29:11[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even know how to put it.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_01]: Like, how do you, how do you have control of the roster as Andrew Barry in the front office and stuff and not realize just the abysmal state that it's in?
- 29:23[SPEAKER_01]: I've been six years.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_01]: I could be a little understanding that this was like year two and it's like, man, we got a lot of work to do on this thing.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_01]: This is what you've done to the offends of line after six, freaking seasons.
- 29:38[SPEAKER_01]: This.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not just the offensive line.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's the wider severs, the tight end position, everything I've already listed.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_01]: Now I haven't even gotten to the defense yet.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_01]: So, again, if you guys are following along with me here and I told you this was not going to be your happy warm feeling, you know, bubbly and my gut type of episode for this team, this is why, this is why and it's not going to get any better even though we are about to flip over to the defensive side of the ball.

- 31:32[SPEAKER_01]: All right, defense is sizable.
- 31:35[SPEAKER_01]: Guys, just went through the atrocity that is the offense.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_01]: Now let's look at defense, not as bad, okay?
- 31:42[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously because where are the superstars on this Browns roster?
- 31:45[SPEAKER_01]: They're on the defensive side of the ball.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_01]: The young superstars on offense, you got Quintion, Judd, Kins, but again, temper, expectations, it's coming off for brutal injury.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_01]: It's not gonna be like he's just
- 31:59[SPEAKER_01]: coming straight out of college again like last year coming off a healthy rookie season ready to go for year two.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a slow burn.
- 32:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think just kind of more of a time shared.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think the Browns are going to have to go get somebody in free agency, honestly, at running back to really help get this thing to do what we wanted to do this year with him coming off of that injury.
- 32:20[SPEAKER_01]: But what I'm trying to get out there is the superstars on offensive
- 32:28[SPEAKER_01]: That's it, we're hoping it should or Sanders, right?
- 32:30[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if that ends up being the thing, then cool.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_01]: We're wearing business.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_01]: We're cooking with gas.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_01]: But wider severs, we don't have a, we don't, we don't have a superstar or wider seaver.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_01]: We don't even have like a star at wider seaver.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_01]: We just have guys and UDFA's, that's it.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_01]: The superstars on the roster are all on the defense side of the ball, which is why the defense gets a pass a lot of times when we're talking about, well, this the offense needs to be the focus.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_01]: The team needs an offensive overhaul.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_01]: The defense is fine.
- 33:10[SPEAKER_01]: Pretty much, I feel like that's the sediment out there is the defense is just fine.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_01]: They're good.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_01]: We don't need to mess with
- 33:20[SPEAKER_01]: Let me go through these positional breakdowns on the defensive side of the ball and you guys let me know if you still believe that if you still believe that the Browns don't need to take.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_01]: good cap space and good draft fix and try to find some defensive players as well.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_01]: So a defensive end will start on the line.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_01]: Defense event.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_01]: Of course, we got the best defensive player in the entire NFL.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_01]: My house Garrett.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_01]: So that's huge.
- 33:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's huge.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_01]: That's incredible to have that.
- 33:50[SPEAKER_01]: So these are the guys.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_01]: These are the guys that defensive end currently
- 33:59[SPEAKER_01]: it.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_01]: Those are the only three players you have at defensive and currently under contract.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_01]: So the Browns are going to have to add some bodies here to come in here.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_01]: And the thing is like, I know Alex right just got his extension last year and he played well.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_01]: And he's been good on the other side of the line from Miles Garrett, but he has not been reliable.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_01]: I want to he's been injured.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_01]: And it concerns me when you don't have depth behind him.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_01]: I say, I'm a choir.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_01]: Final year if he's rookie deal, we don't really know what if he's going to just be a rotational piece of he's ever going to take like another step forward and be somebody we can rely on.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_01]: But that's it.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_01]: Those are the only three players we have a defensive end on your contract.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_01]: Garrett right McGuire.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_01]: You got two guys on the practice squad.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: KJ Henry and Julian Aquaro.
- 34:47[SPEAKER_01]: And then Cameron Thomas, who a lot of people lump into this group, kind of the way they do with Tevin Jeng is like, oh, well, we got Tevin Jeng as a guard.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_01]: No, you don't.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_01]: He's a freaking free agent and you do not have Cameron Thomas either because he is also an unrestricted free agent.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't have to be here.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_01]: He can be anywhere he wants to do next year.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_01]: Okay?
- 35:07[SPEAKER_01]: So we can't count on Cameron Thomas either.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_01]: Three guys at D&D.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_01]: Defensive Tackle, Mason Graham, your fifth overall pick in last year's draft, elite Collins, stud, Michael Jr., and 8 in Huntington.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_01]: Those are the only guys under contract for the Browns in 2026 right now.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_01]: Mason Graham, elite Collins, Michael Jr., and 8 in Huntington.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_01]: Mason Graham, strong rookie season.
- 35:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm ready to see him take the next step in season two
- 35:43[SPEAKER_01]: There's another level he's got to get to, in my opinion.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_01]: I love elite coins, also coming off an injury.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_01]: My call junior, probably coming off an injury, he's freaking always injured.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_01]: As far as I'm concerned, my call junior was a wasted second round pick a couple years ago.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_01]: been two seasons.
- 36:00[SPEAKER_01]: What does he really done for us?
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_01]: Not much in my opinion, but maybe I'm wrong.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: You guys let me know how you feel about my call junior.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_01]: I just unless he really balls out, then, you know, he's going to be going into the final year.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_01]: His rookie deal next year.
- 36:14[SPEAKER_01]: And I think he's just going to be gone because, I don't know, man, these these defensive tackles that injury Barry goes after has just never worked out for us.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_01]: So Graham Collins Hall, 8 in Huntington, that's your defensive interior so far under contract.
- 36:31[SPEAKER_01]: You got two practice squad guys, Keith Cooper and Marie Sirst, and then you've got a free agent, unrestricted free agent is Shelby Harris, so he's probably not coming back, and then restricted free agent is Sam Kamera.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_01]: And that's it, that's your defensive line.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_01]: Again,
- 36:50[SPEAKER_01]: I just, I feel like we need help.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_01]: We really need help, especially on the ends.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_01]: And really, I mean, if you're looking long-javity-wise, they've got to add somebody on the interior.
- 37:03[SPEAKER_01]: You've got Mason Graham, long-term, and that's it.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_01]: I don't count my call anymore, long-term, on the interior, because I just don't trust him.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, I mean, he's got a, I say this all the time if soon as you become a Cleveland Brown, I am root my ass off for you until you get me a reason not to or until you get me a reason to doubt you.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_01]: My calls give me a ton of reasons to doubt him.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_01]: So I have no faith, no trust in my call right now.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_01]: I need another guy on the interior.
- 37:28[SPEAKER_01]: I probably need a young rookie.
- 37:29[SPEAKER_01]: I probably don't have to draft somebody, guys.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_01]: I had another defensive tackle.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, because everyone that Andrew Barry has drafted has fizzled out and been cut over the last six years.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_01]: That's why we have no longevity on the interior.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_01]: Outside of Mason Graham right now, it's ridiculous.
- 37:47[SPEAKER_01]: let's move back again.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry guys if you were if you don't want the negativity on the episode turn this one off I've just I've been warning you the whole time and you're going to be good.
- 37:59[SPEAKER_01]: Linebacker.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_01]: Do you guys know who's under contract right now for the Browns at Linebacker?
- 38:06[SPEAKER_01]: Take guess out there before I start talking.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: Carson Swesinger, uh obviously we just drafted the defense of rookie of the year last year that
- 38:17[SPEAKER_01]: who else is under contract for the Browns at Linebacker.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_01]: How about we got Easton Mascarinas Arnold?
- 38:26[SPEAKER_01]: Eaterfwan Yulifoshio and Boogie Watson.
- 38:32[SPEAKER_01]: Who was on IR?
- 38:33[SPEAKER_01]: Then you got on the pop is J.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_01]: Again, not expected him to play.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_01]: ever again.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_01]: So until that, I mean, in the fat changes, then I will be so pleasantly surprised and happy and we will rejoice and celebrate the return of Jeremiah O. Sukorumola.
- 38:52[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just not expecting that.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_01]: So that's it.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_01]: That's all you have under contract right now at linebacker.
- 38:59[SPEAKER_01]: Swesinger, mascarina, sarnold, ulofoxio, and Watson.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_01]: Tip, you got, excuse me.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_01]: Free agents, Devin Bush and Jerome Baker, they are unrestricted free agents, which means they can sign wherever they want to.
- 39:17[SPEAKER_01]: I would love to see Devin Bush back you guys.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_01]: Know that?
- 39:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think that should be a priority sign for the Browns of Free Agency.
- 39:24[SPEAKER_01]: Might not want to come back now, the gym source isn't here.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what impact that's gonna have.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_01]: So, Devin Bush, Jerome Baker, gone, exclusive rights for Agent is Winston Reed, which I would expect them to offer him a league minimum to come back.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_01]: He's a great special teams player, and he can fill in a linebacker at times during games when you need him to.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_01]: I like Winston Reed, and then you've got restricted for Agent Muhammad Diabody, which means another team could try to sign him.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_01]: He could sign with anybody he wants, the Browns would have a chance to match it, and tender, and all that stuff, whatever, how that works.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_01]: but officially under contract is only Swesinger, Masquerina, Sarnold, Yulifashio, and Watson.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_01]: So then at Cornerback, let's go back to the second area, Cornerback, obviously you've got Superstar Denzel Ward.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_01]: Under contract, along with Tyson Campbell, Miles Harden, and Dom Jones.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_01]: Those are the only four cornerbacks on this roster currently in their contract for 2026.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_01]: Denzel Ward, Tyson Campbell, Miles Harden, and Dom Jones.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_01]: On the practice squad, you've got a guy named D Williams.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: Free agents, you've got Martin Emerson, DeAngelo Ross, and then a restricted free agent and Sam Webb and an exclusive rights free agent and Anthony Kendall.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_01]: We don't know what's gonna happen with Martin Emerson.
- 40:45[SPEAKER_01]: Saw some workout videos from him the other day where he looks to be moving pretty well coming off of that torn kill-ass from training camp last year.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if the Browns offer him to come back.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if he wants to.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if he wants to test reagency.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe a change of scenery goes somewhere else.
- 41:02[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what's going to happen with him, but the only guys we have are Denzel Ward, Tyson Campbell, Miles Harden, and Dom Jones.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_01]: Which means you got two starters at corner back.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_01]: Denzel Ward and Tyson Campbell, but you got nobody else.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_01]: Miles Harden, I'm not a fan.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think I don't like his game.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he's all that great.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_01]: Dom Jones is just a fill in body.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to have to draft a corner bag.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_01]: I guarantee we'd draft a corner bag.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how high we might need to draft someone high.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_01]: Dense a horse 29.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_01]: The longevity at the corner bag position right now, we have none.
- 41:35[SPEAKER_01]: We have none.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_01]: So it's also a position that is in dire straits.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_01]: Pass just the top two guys, I should say.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_01]: Because don't get me wrong.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_01]: Dense a war and tights came over.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_01]: I love having those as my two, my top two starting corner bags.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_01]: We're in trouble.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_01]: Then you go to safety.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_01]: We've only got three guys under contract.
- 41:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's Grant Delpit.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_01]: Chris Edmonds and Donovan McMillan.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_01]: Ronnie Hickman is a restricted free agent.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_01]: Are you talked about that?
- 42:06[SPEAKER_01]: And then free agents, ratio on Jenkins and tray Avery.
- 42:09[SPEAKER_01]: So the only guys under contract is safety or Grant Delpit Chris Edmonds and Donovan McMillan.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see what they end up working out with Ronnie Hickman to see if they can get him back.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: But again, at this point in time, February 19th, look at that free agency in a few weeks.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_01]: Can't pencil in, Ronnie Hickman as you're starting free safety because he's currently not under contract with the team.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_01]: So something has to happen there before we can count on him being a part of the defense again.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_01]: And then if you go look at our specialists for this team, we have nobody.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_01]: We have zero specialist players under contract.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_01]: Andres, Andre Smith, I put Andre.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_01]: Andre Smith is an exclusive rights for you, just so he'll be back.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_01]: The offer in the one year league minimum, it'll probably offer him more and that probably would be like a three year, two or three year deal or something like that with a little more incentive.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_01]: But,
- 43:09[SPEAKER_01]: We'll have Andre Schmidt back.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: They just haven't done it yet.
- 43:12[SPEAKER_01]: Corridor Horquas is a free agent.
- 43:15[SPEAKER_01]: An unrestricted free agent, so no guarantee he's back.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_01]: Exclusive rights free agent is Rex Sinahara.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_01]: And then you've got to reserve future deal with a punter named Nick Constantino.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_01]: Doesn't matter, the main thing here is none of these guys are current, like they haven't done anything to get these guys under contract.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously, Andre Schmidt, Rex Sunohara, unless they want to go try to find another long snapper.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why they would.
- 43:41[SPEAKER_01]: Those two guys will be back, don't know what they're going to do upon her yet.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_01]: They got to figure that out.
- 43:48[SPEAKER_01]: This episode is brought to you by Baudin Sports.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_01]: Browns fans, Baudin Sports is your one-stop shop for all your athletic gear.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_01]: Baudin started out perfecting and manufacturing the best balls in the business.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_01]: And if that sounded dirty, that's more about your mind than my words.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_01]: But hey, it's true.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_01]: Baseball, softballs, footballs, basketballs, volleyballs, soccer balls, you name it.
- 44:07[SPEAKER_01]: And Baudin has engineered the highest standard sports balls available.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_01]: And now they offer more than just sports balls.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_01]: If you got kids playing baseball or softball, Bodden has batting gloves and bats to go along with both game balls and training balls.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_01]: If you're into basketball, Bodden makes basketball specifically for indoor or outdoor use, heck, Bodden even has all the equipment you need for pickleball, which
- 44:27[SPEAKER_01]: is one sport that I hear everyone is playing and yet I still never have, and I need to fix that soon.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_01]: But don't miss the backyard game section of Bodden's website where you can order everything you need for this upcoming outdoor season, pool balls, backyard volleyball, nets, croquet, bachi, horseshoes, cornhole, and more.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_01]: Right now you can get 10% off your entire order at Bodden Sports, BAD, eNSports.com slash dogs,
- 44:52[SPEAKER_01]: DAWGS and use promo code dogs when you check out.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_01]: That's 10% off all the top quality sporting gear you need this season, bought in sports.com slash dogs.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_01]: But that's your roster guys.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_01]: That's your roster.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_01]: And then if I just break it down this way, hey, let me get over to my other notes here.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_01]: So these are the voided contracts.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I just went through all this stuff, but the voided contracts,
- 45:21[SPEAKER_01]: which are, um, they're, they're going to carry dead cap in 2026, but the player won't be here, unless they're renegotiated prior to that March 11th date.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_01]: David and Joku won't be back.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_01]: Ethan Posek won't be back.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_01]: Why?
- 45:39[SPEAKER_01]: Tell her won't be back.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_01]: Joel Patonio, they didn't move back.
- 45:42[SPEAKER_01]: His contract
- 45:48[SPEAKER_01]: 16th I think was Monday was that date and they pushed it back to march something or other I forget what it is after the leak season begins so he gets a little more time to debate if he wants to retire
- 46:00[SPEAKER_01]: or not, but Joel Batoni is on that list.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: Tevin Jenkins, Jack Conquence, Shelby Harrison, Devon Bush, and then you're straight up unrestricted free ages, meaning they're not carrying any dead cap on the cap.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_01]: Drum Ford Travian Williams, De Andre Carter, Cam Robinson, Cameron Thomas, Julian Aquara, oh, is actually listed on this one.
- 46:19[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder why.
- 46:20[SPEAKER_01]: They haven't listed as a street free agent.
- 46:23[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even know what that is.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_01]: All right, whatever.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_01]: Jerome Baker, D'Angelo Ross, Tray, every Martin Emerson, Ration, Jenkins, and Cory Bajorquas, and then your restricted free agents, Blake White, Hart, Sam, Cameroon, Muhammad Diabody, Ronnie Hickman, Sam Webb, and your exclusive rights free agents who I expect to handful these guys to be back, Malachi, Coralage, Amari, Thrash, Brennan, Bates, Winston Reed, Anthony Kendall, Andres Schmidt, and Rex, Sunahara.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_01]: and why this is so devastating for me going through and doing this exercise is I'm looking at him saying okay we've got a superstar let's look at defense versus got super star defense event
- 47:03[SPEAKER_01]: but nothing else at the position behind him.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_01]: We've got, I would say a star at defensive tackle with Mason Graham.
- 47:10[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not gonna call him a superstar.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's got to do some things, like more than one and a half sack in a season.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, I need, I need him to do some stuff.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_01]: I know we played the run well or whatever.
- 47:25[SPEAKER_01]: You got a superstar at linebacker.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing else after him currently.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_01]: you got a superstar corner back and then you've got a good second, you know, corner back and Tyson Campbell, but that's it.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_01]: You've got, I think Grand Delpit's kind of like star superstar status, a probal type player at safety, nothing else at safety, free safety or strong safety after that.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_01]: Then you go to offense.
- 47:52[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I don't know what to tell you guys.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_01]: We've got like, we don't even have starters.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_01]: We don't even have, we don't even have a returning starters on offense under contract.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'll side a Jerry Judy, Cedric Tillman, Quintyron, Judkins, well, well, should or Sanders in there because he was the most recent guy to start for the team, Harold Fan and Jr.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's it.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_01]: We got nobody on the line.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_01]: bad.
- 48:19[SPEAKER_01]: It's bad situation.
- 48:20[SPEAKER_01]: I was texting with a kitty Mac the other day whenever I mentioned this on Monday show that I was going to do this episode and he texted me and said, I'm glad somebody's finally going to talk about the state of the roster because it's bad.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_01]: And I said, yeah, I'm glad that you see it that way too.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_01]: I am glad, because I don't want to feel like I'm crazy looking at this saying, this list looks terrible.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_01]: And then other people listen to say, we talk about anything so bad.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_01]: Let me know what you guys think.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like this is really bad.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like the state of the roster that I just went through.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_01]: It ain't pretty and I do this exercise every year and a lot of times I break it down even, I gotta do all of a defense episode and offense episode because we've got so many players to talk about here and there and it's just not like that this year.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's really sparse and it's concerning because again,
- 49:06[SPEAKER_01]: The Browns are expected to have a decent amount of cap space.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_01]: Once they do some restructures, the Sean Watts and Denzel Ward are the ones that they're gonna restructure.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_01]: They've got their post-June first designated cuts and things like that to spread out some cap hits and dead caps and things like that.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_01]: But it's not unlimited, you know?
- 49:26[SPEAKER_01]: We've got so many positions to fill.
- 49:30[SPEAKER_01]: And it's just, it's going to be another year where Andrew Bear is going to do a lot of cheap one year contracts and free agency with guys.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_01]: And we're going to be crossing our fingers, our toes.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_01]: Anything you can cross when draft night rolls around draft weekend and pray to God that Andrew Bear can somehow replicate his 20 25, whatever he did in that draft do it again, because you actually found good football players in that draft.
- 50:00[SPEAKER_01]: first five years that he drafted.
- 50:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't even think any of those guys are still on this roster.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_01]: Are they?
- 50:07[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm just so I'm just going to go look through it here.
- 50:10[SPEAKER_01]: Are any of those?
- 50:11[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we still got Cedric Tillman from 2023.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_01]: And then you've got like, I mean, you got Luke Whiplier and
- 50:25[SPEAKER_01]: two, maybe 22 and then he was either 21 or 22 and then Isaiah McWire was 22 or 23 I can't remember.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_01]: So those guys are still around.
- 50:33[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, like I'm not really count like my caller's accent because I was just two drafts to go.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_01]: Those guys should still be here.
- 50:41[SPEAKER_01]: You would hope.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, if you're gonna go back any further than that, there's nobody left on this roster that he drafted from 20-20 on.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_01]: and the only guy, even the only guy and he's notable has grand help it.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_01]: And I guess J.O.K., but it's not, it's not planned.
- 51:03[SPEAKER_01]: So it just, it sucks, man.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_01]: It sucks whenever you go six years and you don't have hardly anybody from your first four drafts, still playing football for your team or contributing in any way, or even on the roster anymore.
- 51:18[SPEAKER_01]: That's why it is the way it is.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's why the state of the team looks this way.
- 51:25[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, I know people will instantly say, well, it's all because of the Deshawn Watson trade and that contract and everything, and that's a huge component, trust me that don't hear what I'm not saying.
- 51:36[SPEAKER_01]: That's a big piece of this puzzle, but poor drafting and giving out bad contracts to bad players, that is why the browns are where they are.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so again, let me know what you guys think about this breakdown,
- 51:54[SPEAKER_01]: Just don't even worry this time about putting in comments like all you're being too negative.
- 51:59[SPEAKER_01]: I told you I was going to be repeatedly that's how this one was going to go.
- 52:05[SPEAKER_01]: Let me know if there's some bright spots in here that I talked about that you guys see that maybe I glossed over or I'm not really looking at the way you are.
- 52:14[SPEAKER_01]: I'm I'm a mind-as-open.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_01]: I'm open to interpretation for new guys and what you think, but
- 52:20[SPEAKER_01]: To me, when I break this down and go through the roster, the way it is, I'm like, wow, we got a lot of holes to fill.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_01]: It's not just offensive line.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's not just wide receivers.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_01]: It's not quarterback.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sorry, I need to do an episode where I really talk about it too, but like,
- 52:39[SPEAKER_01]: We don't need Malik.
- 52:40[SPEAKER_01]: Well, as we don't need Kyler Murray, we need freaking help at every other position.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I think a guy like Shador Sanders can thrive.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_01]: I really do, I think.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_01]: I think he can play good quarterback.
- 52:53[SPEAKER_01]: And I would like to see what he can do with continued experience and time to develop because I feel like our patience is too short.
- 53:03[SPEAKER_01]: With these young rookie quarterbacks when they show flashes.
- 53:10[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you could argue it was, but I didn't see anything.
- 53:14[SPEAKER_01]: That was the problem.
- 53:15[SPEAKER_01]: That was the difference for me between a patient's level for a Dillon Gabriel and for a Shidorah Sanders.
- 53:20[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't see anything with Dillon Gabriel that made me think for a second.
- 53:24[SPEAKER_01]: I think this guy could actually play quarterback for us and we could win games.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_01]: When Shidorah Sanders played, yeah, I wasn't pretty all the time.
- 53:32[SPEAKER_01]: There was a lot of rough moments, a lot of rough stretches.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_01]: but I saw plenty where I was like, yeah, this guy can play quarterback at a high level.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_01]: We can win football games with him.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_01]: He just needs more time.
- 53:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's where at quarterback, I just wasting resources right now, quarterback this off season.
- 53:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's a feudal effort.
- 53:55[SPEAKER_01]: I just think it's a bad idea.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_01]: We've got too much else to do to be worrying about that.
- 54:01[SPEAKER_01]: When I think we're good there,
- 54:06[SPEAKER_01]: If you don't like shit or Sanders or you don't think that he's a good quarterback or could ever be a good good quarterback, then obviously you're not going to agree with me on that.
- 54:13[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to you're going to see the whole thing.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_01]: This whole picture is going to look different to you.
- 54:18[SPEAKER_01]: So let me know what you guys think.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate you bearing with me, I wish I could talk.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_01]: If you guys haven't done any short reels this week, I've done no videos, I just, I can't do anything.
- 54:29[SPEAKER_01]: I barely have energy, it blows, it blows, I hate being sick, we're trying to move to new house.
- 54:35[SPEAKER_01]: I can't help my wife, I'm like, I can't, I keep down her, I'm like, all I can do is you can put the kids in the living room, put up the gate and I'll watch them.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_01]: That's, that is all I can do, I can't help you with anything else right now, it's terrible, but I'm on the mend, I'm gonna get better.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_01]: I hope, and hopefully the next time you guys hear from me, I don't sound so ridiculous, but thank you guys for tuning in.
- 54:58[SPEAKER_01]: I apologize for the negativity on this episode, but the roster is in shambles.
- 55:06[SPEAKER_01]: Andrew Barry has destroyed it.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_01]: It's bad.
- 55:09[SPEAKER_01]: He's got a lot of work to do, a lot of work to do in the next couple months.
- 55:15[SPEAKER_01]: And if he doesn't,
- 55:18[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you guys let me know what you, uh, you predict for the record and Todd Monkins for a season.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_01]: If this roster does not get significantly worked on and improved.
- 55:30[SPEAKER_01]: Appreciate you guys again, thanks for tuning in, join the dogs.com, join the dog pack, hang out in the community, help support the show, we appreciate everybody in there.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_01]: I will be back.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_01]: I think we're going to try to do a live show on YouTube with Blake and Justin on Sunday night, and then Tuesday morning.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'm getting with Kenny Mac to do the free Asia preview.
- 55:49[SPEAKER_01]: So more optimistic, more positive outlook for the Browns, more fix it type solution discussions coming your way.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_01]: So stay tuned for those.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_00]: and let's go Browns.
