Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: It's a good week for fixture swings. In the final
- 0:03Speaker 1: matches for the internationals, we discussed double or treble arsenal.
- 0:07Speaker 1: We have a bit of forward thinking as we worry
- 0:08Speaker 1: about Pedro and Sam tries again to have some luck
- 0:11Speaker 1: with her differential. Okay, then two world cards were active
- 0:19Speaker 1: in the ends last week, so it's time for us
- 0:21Speaker 1: to do our Thursday check in on the FPL pod.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Hello everyone, welcome back. How did it all go?
- 0:27Speaker 2: Then?
- 0:27Speaker 1: Sam and Juels? Sam, you go first, Kelly, I've got
- 0:30Speaker 1: Queen Arrow good. I'm sorry, but if you get a
- 0:34Speaker 1: rod at red Erra on the wild word so I
- 0:36Speaker 1: wouldn't have allowed you on this morning.
- 0:37Speaker 3: I know. Can you imagine how awful it would have been?
- 0:39Speaker 3: And it was a big one that sounds like two
- 0:41Speaker 3: million places, So I was so happy when it was
- 0:44Speaker 3: going well. It was just one of those and actually,
- 0:45Speaker 3: to be fair, it was just a couple of players
- 0:48Speaker 3: that did really well. Like in my head everybody had
- 0:52Speaker 3: triple captain Erlin Harlan, so when he got that late
- 0:55Speaker 3: brace of goals, I was thinking, oh gosh, actually this
- 0:58Speaker 3: is going to be a nightmare because I've only kept
- 1:00Speaker 3: and it's probably going to have a negative impact on
- 1:01Speaker 3: my rank, but he's still actually quite slowly owned across
- 1:04Speaker 3: the game, so actually was a was quite a positive thing.
- 1:08Speaker 3: In the end. The two born with boys that came
- 1:10Speaker 3: in Sternesti and Semna did really well. Oh. I nearly
- 1:14Speaker 3: had a rage at Kudos though, because how he did
- 1:16Speaker 3: not score in that first half I could not tell
- 1:18Speaker 3: you from the stands at Spurs. I was just like,
- 1:21Speaker 3: oh please, and then it was in the back of
- 1:22Speaker 3: the air and it was offside, and I was like,
- 1:24Speaker 3: oh my goodness me. But yeah, sixty two points, a
- 1:27Speaker 3: nice big green arrow, and now I feel like I'm
- 1:29Speaker 3: quite well set up for the next few weeks. So
- 1:31Speaker 3: happy Sam this morning, Happy Geels.
- 1:34Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, very similar wildcard as well. Halan captain,
- 1:38Speaker 4: which was obvious, although until the seventy to fifth minute
- 1:42Speaker 4: there was not much too show really for the captain
- 1:43Speaker 4: c and for his game, and then he got the
- 1:45Speaker 4: two late goals, which was very good. I had se
- 1:49Speaker 4: menu some of the players that I brought in, like
- 1:53Speaker 4: Eastsich for example, who have pretty much regretted as soon
- 1:55Speaker 4: as I brought him in the wildcard because I kind
- 1:57Speaker 4: of knew this was not a good idea at all. Timber,
- 2:02Speaker 4: I was a bit unlucky, the goalkeepers.
- 2:04Speaker 2: A bit the same. But again it's a white card.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Is not just for Christmas, as we say, It's for
- 2:09Speaker 2: the longer term.
- 2:09Speaker 4: So yeah, I was happy I left Gahy on the
- 2:12Speaker 4: bench simply because I thought against Liverpool. But then he
- 2:17Speaker 4: came in with that late assist for the winner as well,
- 2:19Speaker 4: so that's that's the little regret I have. His knaves
- 2:22Speaker 4: started Gaye.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Just don't talk about benching, because I benched. Alderato is
- 2:26Speaker 3: seventeen pointer.
- 2:27Speaker 2: I saw that incredible.
- 2:30Speaker 1: The thing is really on with that one where you're
- 2:32Speaker 1: never going to play him, so you can't you can't.
- 2:33Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 2:34Speaker 1: If you were never going to play him, then it's yeah.
- 2:37Speaker 3: It was one of those where I pulled up at
- 2:39Speaker 3: Spurs and he'd scored and I was like, oh please,
- 2:41Speaker 3: it's going to be a massive hole on my bench,
- 2:44Speaker 3: And then by the time I got into the stadium
- 2:45Speaker 3: in the game finished, I was like, oh, that is
- 2:47Speaker 3: a massive hole because it's a clean sheet as well.
- 2:49Speaker 3: But I had no intention of playing him. I did
- 2:51Speaker 3: kind of send some prayers up that maybe Timber might
- 2:53Speaker 3: just fancy the day off on Sunday so that he
- 2:55Speaker 3: would come off my bench, but no, unfortunately didn't. So uh, yeah,
- 2:59Speaker 3: he he's there for game we k and so I
- 3:01Speaker 3: can't be too too upset about it.
- 3:03Speaker 1: But seventeen points on the bench does stick. At least
- 3:05Speaker 1: you know that he's a good bench player. Like it's
- 3:06Speaker 1: quite nice. You know sometimes we fill our benches. Was
- 3:08Speaker 1: just like whoever we can afford. At least you've got
- 3:10Speaker 1: one of the better ones of whoever you can afford.
- 3:14Speaker 1: I also put Dufe on the bench that was only
- 3:16Speaker 1: five points. But yeah, Pedro Poro being benched wasn't wasn't great?
- 3:19Speaker 1: Was it for me? I wasn't happy about that. A
- 3:22Speaker 1: bit of a shock. Okay, So Jules, what was your
- 3:25Speaker 1: toes to? Your total was fifty eight points? My total
- 3:28Speaker 1: was sixty one. But I did a minus four to
- 3:30Speaker 1: fifty seven. I can't remember. Did I say my minus
- 3:32Speaker 1: four on the pod? I did, didn't I? So I
- 3:34Speaker 1: did do what I said, I'd already done it last week.
- 3:36Speaker 1: I did Watkins to Harland's. Obviously, Watkins did finally get
- 3:39Speaker 1: off the mark verts to Semeno and Munos to NeSSI. Obviously,
- 3:44Speaker 1: Munos kept clean cheating the end, but to NeSSI even better.
- 3:47Speaker 1: So I'm a lot happier with them, happier with that.
- 3:49Speaker 1: So I was plus fourteen up on that minus four
- 3:52Speaker 1: So yeah, pretty happy, I think, although I did. At
- 3:56Speaker 1: ten thirty am, I was hovering over the triple caps him.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Why that was you?
- 4:01Speaker 1: Because I just felt, I don't know, it felt bold
- 4:05Speaker 1: what I'd done already. I'm not a bold manager, and
- 4:06Speaker 1: I feel like there's a few other good opportunities to
- 4:09Speaker 1: do it. I didn't want to go too early. I
- 4:11Speaker 1: also don't like it when all of a sudden there's
- 4:13Speaker 1: a bit of team news from PEP. Of course, he
- 4:14Speaker 1: hadn't been playing very much, and everyone just gets over exciting,
- 4:16Speaker 1: you know, and you think this is too good to
- 4:18Speaker 1: be true. I've been here before, massive regrets, should have
- 4:21Speaker 1: done it. I was sitting next to someone who had
- 4:24Speaker 1: triple captain Thareland when he scored those two goals. I
- 4:26Speaker 1: was at work, and yeah, I was very envious at
- 4:29Speaker 1: that feeling, because there's nothing better, is there? Really? I
- 4:31Speaker 1: think that he when a triple captain pays off, because
- 4:34Speaker 1: so often it doesn't. So yeah, anyway, I got sixty
- 4:37Speaker 1: one overall, still got my wild card, still got one
- 4:39Speaker 1: hundred decisions to make and my team still doesn't look
- 4:41Speaker 1: great for this week actually now, but we'll come on
- 4:43Speaker 1: to that very soon. As the FPR Pop Mini Leigua
- 4:45Speaker 1: new leader Ray Evans raised team is called Ray twenty
- 4:48Speaker 1: five twenty six does exactly what it says on the team.
- 4:51Speaker 1: It's raised team for this season, he got one hundred
- 4:54Speaker 1: and six points to co minus four. Triple captain Thaarland
- 4:57Speaker 1: also brought in Docer as well. He has however played
- 4:59Speaker 1: his World Car bench boost and triple captains his ninetieth
- 5:03Speaker 1: though overall in the FPL standings we've also got odiambo Adera.
- 5:09Speaker 1: He's gone into second place, also triple captain Harland as
- 5:12Speaker 1: if third place Ross Loby no singer trend here. In fact,
- 5:15Speaker 1: all of the top six managers in the league played
- 5:18Speaker 1: the triple captain on Harlan. So well done, master stroke
- 5:21Speaker 1: from you guys are reminded the codes x Y six
- 5:23Speaker 1: x p L before we go any further, and before
- 5:27Speaker 1: I forget it. Joe's European roundup.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Yes, because we are Champions League football in midweek and
- 5:32Speaker 4: obviously six Premier Leage clubs involved a lot of our
- 5:34Speaker 4: players from FPL involved, So let's go with a Tuesday
- 5:37Speaker 4: game to start with. Mickey van Deven scored for Spurs
- 5:40Speaker 4: on a Pedro Poro assist. Spurs were not very good time.
- 5:43Speaker 4: I think you would agree no, but they got a
- 5:46Speaker 4: draw in the end thanks to Mickey van Deven. We
- 5:50Speaker 4: had Joe Padro center for Chelsea in the one near
- 5:52Speaker 4: win against Benfica. Ksid was outstanding in that game. Pedron
- 5:56Speaker 4: it was pretty good, but the rest again a bit average.
- 5:59Speaker 4: Mozille I was benched by on the slot for Liverpool's
- 6:02Speaker 4: defeat the way I gotta. Alison got injured and we
- 6:05Speaker 4: missed the game against Chelsea at the weekend. We know
- 6:07Speaker 4: that for sure also got injured and came off. We're
- 6:10Speaker 4: not sure yet about his fitness. But Isak came on,
- 6:12Speaker 4: was poor. Mosala came on and was really anonymous. Not
- 6:16Speaker 4: much better from Verts. We suppose I right back and
- 6:19Speaker 4: that was not a good idea. Uh. And then the
- 6:21Speaker 4: Arson Boys on Wednesday night, we're pretty good. Martin ord
- 6:25Speaker 4: gana maybe his best game of the season, because you
- 6:27Speaker 4: called Martinelli's called your Carris was was decent too, and
- 6:31Speaker 4: I forgot Newcastle who wont phony away to God for Gordon,
- 6:36Speaker 4: one for for the tomato again and we will talk about
- 6:39Speaker 4: fours later. For tomato could be in the conversation. So
- 6:42Speaker 4: pretty good, pretty good for some and some like Liverpool
- 6:46Speaker 4: and especially Liverpool not so good.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Yeah, why does that leave us with Liverpool?
- 6:51Speaker 2: Sam?
- 6:51Speaker 1: Because two defeats in a week having had a perfect start.
- 6:56Speaker 1: I think a few people have said maybe they weren't
- 6:58Speaker 1: firing and all Cylinder's a lot of like to get
- 7:00Speaker 1: them over the line. But two defeats is quite big,
- 7:04Speaker 1: isn't it? Really it is?
- 7:06Speaker 3: And I think what you said is right, Cals, because
- 7:08Speaker 3: the last or the first five weeks of the season,
- 7:11Speaker 3: they weren't exactly impressing. They weren't looking great, but they
- 7:13Speaker 3: were finding a way to win the games right at
- 7:15Speaker 3: the end, and maybe that was kind of papering over
- 7:18Speaker 3: the difficulties that they had. And the fact that Salah
- 7:21Speaker 3: hasn't been performing in the way that we would have
- 7:23Speaker 3: expected him to coming into this season is also interesting.
- 7:28Speaker 2: And I forgot City as well. Sorry.
- 7:30Speaker 4: Two goals for Arsens to draw with Monaco rhinders pretty good,
- 7:34Speaker 4: but again City in the leads, get pegged back and
- 7:38Speaker 4: that second half was not convincing.
- 7:39Speaker 1: At all, yeah, yeah, it's interesting that with the top
- 7:42Speaker 1: teams at the moment, they all maybe other than Arsenal
- 7:44Speaker 1: at the moment, all seem to kind of maybe have issues,
- 7:47Speaker 1: or I'm sure Arsenal their issues. So let's talk about
- 7:49Speaker 1: Arsenal actually, Jules, because we've been looking for this fixture
- 7:53Speaker 1: run quite a while, because they're actually top of the
- 7:55Speaker 1: fixture ticket all the way through to game week nineteen,
- 7:57Speaker 1: and of course that's when the second World car starts.
- 8:00Speaker 1: So this is the time, isn't it to maybe double
- 8:03Speaker 1: eaving triple up on Arsenal? Would you say?
- 8:05Speaker 4: Yeah, definitely, And I think they've got good momentum going
- 8:07Speaker 4: into this kind of schedule if you want and run
- 8:11Speaker 4: a fixtures. We'd said they had the toughest start of
- 8:14Speaker 4: the Promintic season and to have thirteen points to just
- 8:17Speaker 4: be two behind Liverpool second in the table after those
- 8:20Speaker 4: first six games, when you have to play aware Liverpool,
- 8:22Speaker 4: where Newcastle or where United? I know it's so only
- 8:25Speaker 4: master United but still home to City. I think they
- 8:28Speaker 4: will be pretty happy with that. And some players are
- 8:31Speaker 4: clearly coming into form now. We saw Saka and all
- 8:34Speaker 4: the guards or the Guard especially being very good against
- 8:36Speaker 4: Olympiacos on Wednesday night. The defenders are bringing you the
- 8:40Speaker 4: points really right now, the three Arsal Prize with the
- 8:43Speaker 4: most points are Gabrielle, Calafiori and Timber So they've been
- 8:47Speaker 4: very solid defensively and because they're the best team in
- 8:50Speaker 4: the world on set pieces, those guys can also return
- 8:54Speaker 4: from said pieces attacking wise. So it's a no brainer
- 8:57Speaker 4: that at least two Arsenal players I think are I
- 9:00Speaker 4: probably need it, and we can add a few deciding
- 9:03Speaker 4: which of the two.
- 9:04Speaker 2: But if you wanted to go for three, I think
- 9:07Speaker 2: you can go as well.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Let's start with the defense then, Sam, because they're pretty
- 9:11Speaker 1: much an FPL dream, particularly with the addition of death corn.
- 9:15Speaker 1: It feels like because they're center backs will get deaf
- 9:18Speaker 1: con points, keep clean cheese, and potentially score goals.
- 9:21Speaker 3: As you all said, yeah, I think it will be
- 9:23Speaker 3: interesting over the next few weeks as to how many
- 9:25Speaker 3: defensive contributions they get, because what we've been seeing so
- 9:27Speaker 3: far is that generally speaking, in the more difficult fixtures,
- 9:31Speaker 3: that's when the players seem to be picking up the
- 9:33Speaker 3: defensive contribution points because you're playing against teams that are
- 9:36Speaker 3: going to come and really attack, whereas when you play
- 9:38Speaker 3: against teams that maybe sit a bit deeper and try
- 9:40Speaker 3: and defend against you, maybe you see less of those.
- 9:43Speaker 3: So over the next few weeks, I'm kind of intrigued
- 9:45Speaker 3: as to how Gabrielle and Slieber do for deaf Gune points,
- 9:49Speaker 3: because they would be the two that would expect to
- 9:50Speaker 3: pick them up at Arsenal. But as you say, their
- 9:53Speaker 3: defense has been incredibly good already. I think we said
- 9:56Speaker 3: at the start of the season that's the sort of
- 9:57Speaker 3: run of fixtures that most people won't invest in the
- 10:00Speaker 3: Arsenal defense because the clean sheets don't look like they're there.
- 10:03Speaker 3: But they had an excellent record against all of these
- 10:05Speaker 3: big clubs that they were going to face, and in
- 10:06Speaker 3: terms of clean sheets, had the potential for them to come.
- 10:09Speaker 3: So I've got Timber. I was sort of pleased to
- 10:12Speaker 3: see him not starting in the Champions League because that
- 10:16Speaker 3: probably bodes well for the weekend, because you know, going
- 10:18Speaker 3: for Timber and Kalifury on the other side is maybe
- 10:21Speaker 3: slightly risky given that they have got too good replacements
- 10:25Speaker 3: for those two, whereas Gabrielle and Sleepy you feel like
- 10:28Speaker 3: they are maybe more certain of the starts, and obviously
- 10:31Speaker 3: you have to pay a little bit more for them,
- 10:33Speaker 3: So it depends on how prepared you are to go
- 10:35Speaker 3: risky with it. And we shouldn't forget about Raya either.
- 10:38Speaker 3: When we're talking about the defenders, there's less upside because
- 10:40Speaker 3: I don't think he'll get that many safe points over
- 10:42Speaker 3: this period either, So you really are looking at two
- 10:44Speaker 3: or six for him, and probably six in most weeks.
- 10:47Speaker 3: Whereas the defenders, like you say, you've got def con,
- 10:49Speaker 3: you've got goal threat, you've got assist potential. You know,
- 10:53Speaker 3: tim Timber and Kalifury. Sorry, Timber's got two goals, Kalifhur
- 10:56Speaker 3: and Gabrielle one each. Kalafury's got assist, so's Timber. Kalif
- 11:00Speaker 3: He actually has the same number of attacking returns as
- 11:01Speaker 3: your Curez does right now. So when you think about
- 11:04Speaker 3: it in that way, they are really attractive the defense.
- 11:07Speaker 3: And I'm starting to regret the decision not to get
- 11:10Speaker 3: two of them on my wild card already.
- 11:13Speaker 1: That was only a week ago, one.
- 11:16Speaker 3: Game, and I already think, oh, I should have got two,
- 11:18Speaker 3: because the problem is is that I look at it
- 11:20Speaker 3: and everybody, everyone is going to have an Arsenal defender.
- 11:24Speaker 3: It's going to be the same as it was last season,
- 11:26Speaker 3: season before, a season before. So if everyone's got one,
- 11:29Speaker 3: they're actually not making any difference to you unless they
- 11:31Speaker 3: get upsides, So unless they've got a deaf compoint that
- 11:34Speaker 3: the others haven't, or they've got and a sister or
- 11:36Speaker 3: a goal that the others haven't. Whereas if you get
- 11:38Speaker 3: two of them, they become almost a differential across your
- 11:42Speaker 3: team against everyone else's teams in your league. So that's
- 11:46Speaker 3: why I regret it, because everyone around me's got an
- 11:49Speaker 3: arsenal defender. If I had two, that would massively help
- 11:52Speaker 3: to improve rank.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Yeah, I know what you mean. Actually that's something I'm
- 11:55Speaker 1: going to consider. I think on my wild card. It
- 11:56Speaker 1: feels like ray A plus A plus a defender is
- 11:59Speaker 1: quite a nice way to go, to be honest, because
- 12:01Speaker 1: would you would you say Sammy's the best goalkeeping option
- 12:03Speaker 1: at the moment?
- 12:04Speaker 3: Raya him or Nick Pope? And I went backwards and
- 12:07Speaker 3: forwards and backwards and forwards and backwards and forwards between
- 12:09Speaker 3: the two of them last week, and in the end
- 12:11Speaker 3: I settled on Pope, and I thought I was going
- 12:13Speaker 3: to get wants to haul out of Nick Pope at
- 12:14Speaker 3: one point as well, because he was on for three
- 12:16Speaker 3: bonus points keeping a clean sheet and then right o
- 12:18Speaker 3: the deaf lost both of those things. But I think,
- 12:22Speaker 3: you know, the Newcastle fixtures are also nice, so if
- 12:25Speaker 3: you are struggling with a point five, then you can
- 12:28Speaker 3: come down to Nick Pope. I just wanted to keep
- 12:31Speaker 3: point five in the bank for a bit of a
- 12:32Speaker 3: rainy day just in case. But also a second on
- 12:35Speaker 3: the fixture ticker. Apart from the game against man City
- 12:37Speaker 3: that they have in twelve, the Newcastle fixtures are also
- 12:40Speaker 3: really nice, so yes, I think Raya is probably the
- 12:43Speaker 3: best choice, but I also think that Pope is a
- 12:45Speaker 3: really great option as well if you want to save
- 12:48Speaker 3: point five.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Okay, going back to Arsenal players jowls. What about the
- 12:52Speaker 1: attack is because Decan Rice and with Mendy the highest
- 12:56Speaker 1: scoring midfielders, and I think Rice is probably interesting because
- 12:58Speaker 1: he gets Deaf on. He's one of the players as
- 13:01Speaker 1: well that's maybe been benefited by that this season. Are
- 13:04Speaker 1: they good options? Of course Rice is only I think
- 13:06Speaker 1: six point five year, six point five million.
- 13:08Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I think Rice is also because he's on
- 13:11Speaker 4: unset pieces and the quality of his delivery. It's pretty amazing,
- 13:15Speaker 4: as we saw against in the game against against Newcastle,
- 13:19Speaker 4: where that cross for Marino is just a perfect cross
- 13:21Speaker 4: really and and he puts those in so regularly for
- 13:25Speaker 4: def con he averages right now eight point five defensive
- 13:31Speaker 4: contribution per nineteen minutes. So he's not regular with that
- 13:36Speaker 4: extra point if you want, but he's not far at all.
- 13:39Speaker 4: And I think is more than more than to be
- 13:41Speaker 4: Mendy maybe because I think just Rice is just more
- 13:45Speaker 4: involved and there's more of a of outside of those
- 13:48Speaker 4: deliveries and said pieces. He's the one that is going
- 13:50Speaker 4: more into duels I think than to me Mendy maybe,
- 13:54Speaker 4: who's just there to dictate the play the pace of
- 13:56Speaker 4: the game really for Arsenal.
- 13:58Speaker 2: So I think Rice is very.
- 14:00Speaker 4: Good if you look really low into the Arsenal point
- 14:03Speaker 4: scorer if you want. Saka and all the guard only
- 14:05Speaker 4: have twelve each due to the injuries mostly and they're
- 14:09Speaker 4: like stop and start kind of start of the season,
- 14:12Speaker 4: if you see what I mean. But now they fully fit.
- 14:14Speaker 4: As I said, against Olympia Courtsaka was on the bench
- 14:17Speaker 4: but came on and did really well and score slightly
- 14:21Speaker 4: lucky goal, but still scored the goal. But I thought
- 14:23Speaker 4: all the Guard was incredible, and remember I told you
- 14:25Speaker 4: that during the earlier in the season. I thought All
- 14:28Speaker 4: the Guard was out standing in pre season for Arsenal,
- 14:30Speaker 4: and then he had that shoulder injury that really bothered
- 14:33Speaker 4: him and he started a game. Then then he had
- 14:35Speaker 4: to come up early twice and didn't really have that
- 14:38Speaker 4: kind of rhythm.
- 14:38Speaker 2: I think now he.
- 14:40Speaker 4: Seems to be back to his kind of best or
- 14:42Speaker 4: not far from best. I think he's going to play
- 14:44Speaker 4: slightly in the most central role. And again there was
- 14:46Speaker 4: no easy from the start for Arsenal against olymplaic Cous
- 14:49Speaker 4: on Wednesday night, So I don't know exactly what the
- 14:52Speaker 4: role would be for both Asi and of the guy
- 14:54Speaker 4: when they are on the pitch together and where they
- 14:55Speaker 4: play exactly, but I think all the Guard could be
- 14:58Speaker 4: a very nice option. He's so low lowally owned, and
- 15:01Speaker 4: yet it seems to be really sharp again.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Yeah, and he is that little bit cheaper, isn't he
- 15:05Speaker 1: seven point nine million? And probably also not back at
- 15:08Speaker 1: full fitness yet, is he really? Because he's only just returned,
- 15:11Speaker 1: so it should get even better. Sam, did you you
- 15:13Speaker 1: had soccer in the end on your World Card, didn't you.
- 15:15Speaker 1: I think you both did, didn't you. Yeah, he's at
- 15:18Speaker 1: nine point eight at the moment. You raised a really
- 15:19Speaker 1: valid point last week about the fact that his price
- 15:21Speaker 1: is just going to rise as soon as there's any
- 15:23Speaker 1: returns hasn't rised as Risen sorry as of yet has it?
- 15:27Speaker 1: But do you like what you see?
- 15:28Speaker 3: Are you?
- 15:29Speaker 1: Is he still? Is he still worth the money?
- 15:31Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 15:31Speaker 3: I sure. I'm scoring the Champions League as well, so
- 15:34Speaker 3: I think, Look, soccer is always worth the money. There's
- 15:37Speaker 3: debate about whether whether he's going to be on penalties
- 15:40Speaker 3: or not. Probably not, but maybe you take some here
- 15:43Speaker 3: or there. But I just think that the roots to
- 15:46Speaker 3: points that you have from him is so good. And
- 15:48Speaker 3: you know, over the last few weeks when he's been
- 15:51Speaker 3: injured and Madawak has been playing, Madawak has created the
- 15:55Speaker 3: second most chances across that Arsenal team from that side,
- 15:58Speaker 3: and you would expect that soccer come in and do
- 16:01Speaker 3: more than that as well. So I'm pleased to have him.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Maybe it was a week too early to go there,
- 16:06Speaker 3: but equally, I just I didn't want to be making
- 16:09Speaker 3: that change because he's the player I wanted longer term
- 16:11Speaker 3: from Arsenal, so I thought it's probably best to just
- 16:13Speaker 3: go there a week earlier than maybe I was originally
- 16:16Speaker 3: hoping to do. We'll see increased minutes from him over
- 16:18Speaker 3: the next few weeks as well. So yeah, I'm I'm
- 16:21Speaker 3: happy to be there and I'm expecting him to be
- 16:23Speaker 3: ten before long, particularly if he scores this weekend, his
- 16:26Speaker 3: price all rise.
- 16:27Speaker 1: What about your Crez Jewels. How's he settling in do
- 16:30Speaker 1: you think, because obviously you guys went for Esak on
- 16:32Speaker 1: your wild card and there was kind of a lot
- 16:34Speaker 1: of I think a lot of people were split between
- 16:36Speaker 1: if they were going big on the forward line, people
- 16:38Speaker 1: were tending to go either your Carez or Esak.
- 16:41Speaker 4: Yeah, it's an interesting one because I think it still
- 16:43Speaker 4: brings a lot to this team. We saw that again
- 16:45Speaker 4: against Olympiacos, but even against Newcastle when you got that
- 16:48Speaker 4: penalty that was overturned, then it's just that physicality. He
- 16:52Speaker 4: reached a game well, he makes some good runs and
- 16:54Speaker 4: yet he's still trying to find his feet in this team,
- 16:57Speaker 4: and I think for the team to find a way
- 17:00Speaker 4: of using him better in a way, and that's why
- 17:04Speaker 4: maybe there's not has been as many goals as some
- 17:07Speaker 4: people would have liked or maybe even expected, but I
- 17:10Speaker 4: think he's getting there. And the gold that Martinellie scores
- 17:13Speaker 4: against Olympiakos, and the run that your arrestment that both
- 17:16Speaker 4: from other guards, and how that physicality helps him to
- 17:19Speaker 4: get in front of his defender and then has that
- 17:21Speaker 4: shot that then bounds off the post and Martin ellis
- 17:23Speaker 4: cause nobody else in the Arsenal team can do that.
- 17:26Speaker 4: So I think he's a he's a big he's a
- 17:28Speaker 4: massive value for Arsenal, in this team on the page.
- 17:32Speaker 4: For us, it might be a little bit earlier, and
- 17:34Speaker 4: I mean, I'm not amazed, but twenty five percent of
- 17:36Speaker 4: the managers own him already, and I can I can
- 17:39Speaker 4: see why, although I still think that there's a he's.
- 17:42Speaker 2: A few weeks away from.
- 17:44Speaker 4: Being really at his best and the team knowing exactly
- 17:46Speaker 4: how they need to serve him and how they need
- 17:48Speaker 4: to use him the best. So I would not put
- 17:51Speaker 4: him in now, but very soon I think he'd be
- 17:53Speaker 4: ready and I think he'll be firing.
- 17:55Speaker 1: It's also a lot of money, isn't it if you've
- 17:56Speaker 1: got soccer as well, So I guess it's kind of
- 17:58Speaker 1: you guy for one or the other would you say.
- 18:01Speaker 3: It's tough, isn't it? Because I think like part of
- 18:03Speaker 3: my thinking was that I wanted to spread a bit
- 18:05Speaker 3: of love across all of the teams that I think
- 18:07Speaker 3: are going to be in the title race, because generally speaking,
- 18:10Speaker 3: all of those teams offer good routes to points in
- 18:12Speaker 3: terms of gold potential because they're likely to score girls
- 18:15Speaker 3: and they're likely to keep cleaning sheets. That's why they're
- 18:16Speaker 3: likely to be in the title race. So I wanted
- 18:18Speaker 3: to have investment in the Liverpool attack as well as
- 18:21Speaker 3: Manchester City and as well as Arsenal, like they were
- 18:23Speaker 3: the three that I was kind of looking at. At Liverpool,
- 18:27Speaker 3: it's tough because you know, if you're not going to
- 18:30Speaker 3: have Salah, who are you going to have? Because Gakpo,
- 18:33Speaker 3: I mean we saw him get benched, Vertus just really
- 18:35Speaker 3: hasn't hit the ground running. Ekitik was suspended, and they
- 18:38Speaker 3: felt like a really nice opportunity to go early on
- 18:41Speaker 3: Esach and know that you it's easy to come down
- 18:43Speaker 3: from Esak to your kuz if for any reason, I
- 18:46Speaker 3: do want to double up on the Arsenal attack, but
- 18:48Speaker 3: I also felt like doubling up on the arsenal attack
- 18:51Speaker 3: right now limited. It's part of the reason I also
- 18:53Speaker 3: didn't go for RAA. I wanted to go into the
- 18:56Speaker 3: next few weeks with just two arsenals so that I
- 18:59Speaker 3: could see how they played against Newcastle, see what happened
- 19:01Speaker 3: in the Champions League, and then decide whether it was
- 19:03Speaker 3: going to be double defense or double attack that I
- 19:06Speaker 3: went for. And I think if you've go on, if
- 19:09Speaker 3: you go early and you triple up on them, you
- 19:11Speaker 3: have to then sell one of them in order to
- 19:12Speaker 3: bring somebody else in. So for me, that was why
- 19:14Speaker 3: I went for your I didn't go for your Cresin instead,
- 19:17Speaker 3: I went for esext It allowed coverage of Liverpool and
- 19:20Speaker 3: didn't lock me on three arsenal before I was really
- 19:22Speaker 3: certain about which three I wanted, so I do kind
- 19:26Speaker 3: of regret it. I kind of watched your chorism as like, oh,
- 19:29Speaker 3: I think in these nice green fixtures that you've got
- 19:31Speaker 3: coming up, you'll do really, really well. But then if
- 19:33Speaker 3: you're going to do well, Sack is going to do
- 19:35Speaker 3: well as well, so I have to stick with you
- 19:39Speaker 3: sat for a couple of weeks, but if it's not
- 19:41Speaker 3: if he's not firing in one or two weeks time,
- 19:44Speaker 3: then they'll definitely be the little devil and on my
- 19:46Speaker 3: shoulder will be going make make this swart. So we'll
- 19:49Speaker 3: see how that goes.
- 19:50Speaker 1: All right, let's talk about fours in a little more
- 19:52Speaker 1: depth in just a moment, but just very quickly. Who
- 19:54Speaker 1: are your two or three Arsenal assets that you I
- 19:58Speaker 1: know you only world carded last week? Who do you
- 19:59Speaker 1: think of the two three best shows?
- 20:01Speaker 2: So I think Timber is the best value for money, really.
- 20:04Speaker 4: I know Gabrielle right now is the Arsenal player with
- 20:06Speaker 4: the most points this season, but just one one below,
- 20:09Speaker 4: one behind sorry is is Timber and is a little
- 20:15Speaker 4: bit cheaper and than Gabrielle too. And I think Timber,
- 20:17Speaker 4: who Almos should have scored really against Newcastle, had a
- 20:19Speaker 4: great chance on the Zubi mandy Ball, also can bring
- 20:23Speaker 4: an assist to his game because he's quite unattacking right
- 20:26Speaker 4: back to which Gabrielle can't really do. So I think
- 20:29Speaker 4: in terms of what Timber could bring you to your
- 20:33Speaker 4: team more than Calafuri who doesn't really do assist, more
- 20:36Speaker 4: than Gabrielle who doesn't do a cist for example, and
- 20:38Speaker 4: more than Taliba for the same reason. I think Timber,
- 20:41Speaker 4: for his price as well for me, is the best
- 20:43Speaker 4: of them. If you want to go with Raya and
- 20:44Speaker 4: no problem, and then I think Saka is still despite
- 20:47Speaker 4: your careers, this past the guy getting back in form
- 20:49Speaker 4: or rights to be mendy. I think Socca is a
- 20:52Speaker 4: messt up right.
- 20:52Speaker 3: Now, Okay, Sam, Yeah, I agree, which is a bit weird.
- 20:57Speaker 3: I still think Timber is the best, the best option. Like,
- 21:02Speaker 3: he's created the second most chances in the Arsenal team
- 21:04Speaker 3: apart from Declan Rice, who's created more. So I like him.
- 21:07Speaker 3: I like Sokka. The third one's more contentious because I
- 21:10Speaker 3: really like if I thought he was going to start regularly,
- 21:13Speaker 3: i'd go there, but you just got the rotation with
- 21:15Speaker 3: so I don't think you can. Rice is really nice
- 21:17Speaker 3: as an option. If you want a cheap third, then
- 21:20Speaker 3: I think he's a really nice option. Ray is the
- 21:23Speaker 3: obvious third. I think I think he's the obvious there,
- 21:26Speaker 3: but Euchreas shouldn't be ruled out, and I think in
- 21:29Speaker 3: a few weeks time we'd all want him. So the
- 21:30Speaker 3: third one's more contentious.
- 21:32Speaker 1: Okay, So if in a few weeks time we're all
- 21:33Speaker 1: going to want big to Yokarez then we've probably got
- 21:36Speaker 1: a bit of a colundrum on our hands.
- 21:38Speaker 3: Now.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Joelle Pedro is currently the most heavily owned player in FPL,
- 21:41Speaker 1: although he's the second most sold ahead of game week seven. Meanwhile,
- 21:46Speaker 1: there's been a bit of a change with Harland now
- 21:48Speaker 1: becoming higher owned than Mohammed Salah, so there is a
- 21:52Speaker 1: bit of a sea change. Let's start with Harland. I mean,
- 21:55Speaker 1: this is going to be a very short chat, isn't it.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Sam must must pet Bardiolas said it's the best version
- 22:00Speaker 1: of him he's seen, It's the best he's been playing.
- 22:02Speaker 1: So if Pep says it, we all follow suit, don't we.
- 22:06Speaker 3: Yeah, And I love what Harlan himself has been, oh
- 22:09Speaker 3: you know, disappointed in myself, Like I sort of loved
- 22:12Speaker 3: what he was saying after the game yesterday about not
- 22:15Speaker 3: feeling like he put the game away and he should
- 22:17Speaker 3: have done more Like that kind of hunger is exactly
- 22:19Speaker 3: what you want in a player in FPL. So yeah, sure, answer,
- 22:22Speaker 3: Kelly is just just by Harlan if you haven't go
- 22:24Speaker 3: him already, agree yours?
- 22:26Speaker 2: Yeah, completely.
- 22:27Speaker 4: And I still think that sometimes they don't use him
- 22:30Speaker 4: enough to create chances for him. I think he could
- 22:33Speaker 4: score more goals, and we saw that against Monaco in
- 22:35Speaker 4: the Champion League in the second half where he hardly
- 22:37Speaker 4: touched the ball. City went off very good either in
- 22:39Speaker 4: the second half, but it seemed that every time you
- 22:41Speaker 4: give him a decent ball in the box then he
- 22:44Speaker 4: would score. So I think, I think there's probably even
- 22:46Speaker 4: more to come from him. But we've said it from
- 22:50Speaker 4: the beginning of the season that we knew he was
- 22:51Speaker 4: going to have a good season.
- 22:52Speaker 2: We knew it, and it was just a.
- 22:54Speaker 4: Case of Halean and Salad from the beginning both Maybe
- 22:57Speaker 4: we had that discussion so many times and I think
- 23:00Speaker 4: if you didn't go with haland from the beginning, the
- 23:03Speaker 4: time is now you can you can't have.
- 23:05Speaker 2: It's hurting you now if you don't have him in
- 23:07Speaker 2: your team.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Why are people selling child pedro son because it's.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Had one shot in the last three matches And yeah,
- 23:14Speaker 3: and I just think that, you know, you look at
- 23:16Speaker 3: him and the opening weeks of the season, he was phenomenal.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Right.
- 23:21Speaker 3: He came from the Club World Cup playing really well
- 23:24Speaker 3: on a Chelsea side that we're playing well. He was
- 23:27Speaker 3: doing all the right things and was significantly cheaper than
- 23:30Speaker 3: Cole Palmer, so much easier to invest in him. He
- 23:34Speaker 3: came in at this kind of like ideal price point
- 23:36Speaker 3: for us in FPL because you're looking at, well, I
- 23:39Speaker 3: want Salah and I want all these other players, so
- 23:41Speaker 3: if I've got somebody that's seven point five. Evezzie was
- 23:44Speaker 3: then playing in this Chelsea team that's playing well, attacking
- 23:47Speaker 3: all this stuff. Opening weeks, the season have gone well,
- 23:50Speaker 3: Club World Cup's gone well. Like you can understand the
- 23:52Speaker 3: hyper around Jil Pedro, what's happened over the last few
- 23:55Speaker 3: weeks is that it's not his position changes depending upon
- 24:01Speaker 3: who else is available in that Chelsea team where he plays.
- 24:03Speaker 3: Sometimes he's in the ten, sometimes he's up in the nine.
- 24:05Speaker 3: Sometimes like he's here, there and everywhere, and depending upon
- 24:08Speaker 3: where he is, he becomes more or less attractive to
- 24:10Speaker 3: us in FPL. Plus, you've had the fact that Chelsea
- 24:13Speaker 3: have been down to ten men in the last two
- 24:15Speaker 3: well not just Premier leagueains. I was going to say,
- 24:16Speaker 3: if you include the the Champions League as well, last three,
- 24:20Speaker 3: so you take them down to ten men and it
- 24:22Speaker 3: changes the system. So, particularly when we look back to
- 24:25Speaker 3: game week five, the system changed entirely because Pedro netto
- 24:29Speaker 3: came off. Then cor Palmer got injured and came off,
- 24:32Speaker 3: and Joe Pedro just wasn't He wasn't really in the
- 24:35Speaker 3: game at that point, and then we've seen that even
- 24:38Speaker 3: last week as well. So one shot in three Premier
- 24:41Speaker 3: League matches is not good enough in the forward line.
- 24:44Speaker 3: And so you can understand why people are looking at
- 24:47Speaker 3: whether they keep him or not because on wild card
- 24:50Speaker 3: I had Harlan and I had Atak and then the
- 24:52Speaker 3: third spot i'd have liked with kept Mateta. As you
- 24:55Speaker 3: all know, I love him and he was unlucky not
- 24:57Speaker 3: to get something. But job Pedro felt like I had
- 24:59Speaker 3: to keep him because he was so heavily owned too
- 25:02Speaker 3: that it felt like a massive risk, an unnecessary risk
- 25:06Speaker 3: to take him out of the of your team because
- 25:09Speaker 3: if he scores, because so many people have got him,
- 25:12Speaker 3: it's going to have a negative impact on overall ranks.
- 25:15Speaker 3: So for me, he stayed for that reason. But then
- 25:17Speaker 3: I watched him in game week six and I thought,
- 25:20Speaker 3: I'm not that impressed really, So now I mean the fixtures,
- 25:25Speaker 3: the fixtures still remain nice ish, well they're nice ish
- 25:29Speaker 3: after the Liverpool game because it's Nottingham Forest. Then Sunderland
- 25:32Speaker 3: before Spurs who they always beat us, and then Wolves
- 25:36Speaker 3: and Burnley before Arsenal. So when you look at that
- 25:38Speaker 3: black the gaps between Liverpool and Arsenal, Liverpool Arsenal's horrendous,
- 25:41Speaker 3: but the games in the middle don't look too bad.
- 25:44Speaker 3: And that's why I wanted to keep him. But now
- 25:46Speaker 3: I'm looking at it and thinking maybe I shouldn't have,
- 25:49Speaker 3: Maybe I should have kept Matessa instead.
- 25:51Speaker 1: Is it because it's quite a difficult Well, I suppose
- 25:54Speaker 1: you could have kept matesa, couldn't you? Because I was
- 25:55Speaker 1: going to say, who else? Who else? At that price point?
- 25:57Speaker 1: If we're all going big on Harland, it feels like
- 25:59Speaker 1: we're all thing one of Isak or your Cares that
- 26:03Speaker 1: seems to be the kind of tem player at the moment.
- 26:05Speaker 1: I guess unless you go really cheap and put more
- 26:07Speaker 1: money into midfield, it just feels like seven point five
- 26:10Speaker 1: for a Chelsea forward. Is why we're all staying there? Jewels?
- 26:13Speaker 2: Maybe, yeah, yeah, I think you're right, Cares, that's a
- 26:16Speaker 2: good point.
- 26:16Speaker 4: I also, as Sam just said, it's so heavily owned
- 26:20Speaker 4: that it just don't assists, you know, unless you're the
- 26:24Speaker 4: forward that you've that you've play or that you got
- 26:27Speaker 4: instead of drog Pedro is outnumbered him or like I
- 26:30Speaker 4: don't know how you said, like it does better than
- 26:32Speaker 4: him than fair enough, but otherwise it's going to hurt
- 26:35Speaker 4: you massively. So for now, if you have him, just
- 26:37Speaker 4: keep him because of that and see how that goes.
- 26:40Speaker 4: I think the Palmer injury is a massive loss for
- 26:43Speaker 4: draw Pedro two because they had a good understanding on
- 26:45Speaker 4: the page in terms of creativity. Without Parma, it's not
- 26:48Speaker 4: the same either. We saw the red card that drow
- 26:51Speaker 4: Pedro picked up, as I mentioned earlier in the Champions League,
- 26:53Speaker 4: which maybe is a little bit down to frustration having
- 26:55Speaker 4: been benched for that game, and maybe he was benched
- 26:58Speaker 4: for that game to be ready for the Liverpool game
- 27:00Speaker 4: at the weekend, of course, but also it's not a
- 27:03Speaker 4: good look when you get your yellow car before having
- 27:06Speaker 4: touched the ball, like literally thirty seconds after you're coming on,
- 27:08Speaker 4: and then the second one later. Maybe this one was
- 27:11Speaker 4: a bit harsh, but it's still a red card, which
- 27:13Speaker 4: is not good. So I didn't want to keep him
- 27:17Speaker 4: really in the wild card, but I had to, I
- 27:19Speaker 4: felt because of how much he's owned. But it's one
- 27:23Speaker 4: that in two games, maybe three. If there's not much
- 27:26Speaker 4: improvement to what we saw against United and Brentford and
- 27:28Speaker 4: again with ten men for Chelsea for most of those games,
- 27:32Speaker 4: then I think he would be the right time to
- 27:34Speaker 4: let him go.
- 27:35Speaker 1: Okay, so potentially hold for now, but he's won very
- 27:38Speaker 1: much on our potential sale list. And we've already spoken
- 27:41Speaker 1: about your careers. But I think there's a conversation Sam
- 27:44Speaker 1: to we had around the three best forwards, because I
- 27:47Speaker 1: think I think it has changed in the last few weeks.
- 27:49Speaker 3: As I said, Yeah, I mean Harland is the obvious one,
- 27:52Speaker 3: and then I think you have to make a call
- 27:53Speaker 3: between Essak and your careers. Potentially, if you're prepared to
- 27:56Speaker 3: go a little bit rogue and not have jel Pedro,
- 27:59Speaker 3: it's not that hard to get from jal Pedro to
- 28:03Speaker 3: your caurez. It's doable right now, It's doable.
- 28:07Speaker 1: It's a couple of transfers though for some people, isn't
- 28:09Speaker 1: it really? Yeah, you got money in the bank, but
- 28:12Speaker 1: not everyone does.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Yeah, So if you've got money in the bank or
- 28:15Speaker 3: your wild carding, I think probably going for a very
- 28:17Speaker 3: You've got two options. You either go very heavy up
- 28:20Speaker 3: top and you go for the three most expensive and
- 28:22Speaker 3: you have them, or you could look that there are
- 28:27Speaker 3: mid price options Matessa. I mean, how Mateta didn't get
- 28:30Speaker 3: something in that game at the weekend against Liverpool. I've
- 28:33Speaker 3: literally got no idea. He was so unlucky. So you
- 28:36Speaker 3: could go there. There are some like much cheaper options
- 28:40Speaker 3: as well, So you could go down to like a
- 28:41Speaker 3: Tiago at Brentford and that would free up quite a
- 28:44Speaker 3: lot of money and that helps you to invest us
- 28:46Speaker 3: where if you do want to if you want to
- 28:48Speaker 3: go double arsenal defense and you don't want to go ray,
- 28:50Speaker 3: you want to go for the two, you want to
- 28:51Speaker 3: go for two defenders, you're going to need to find
- 28:53Speaker 3: a bit of money from somewhere and maybe you can
- 28:55Speaker 3: come there. I very very nearly went is a door
- 28:59Speaker 3: at Sunderland and as part of that, came very close
- 29:03Speaker 3: to doing that because it's stave significant budget and that
- 29:07Speaker 3: allows you, as you said, Kels, to either improve your
- 29:09Speaker 3: midfield or also improve your defense, and it allows you
- 29:12Speaker 3: to spend that money around a little bit more. And
- 29:14Speaker 3: I think traditionally in fl that's what we like to do.
- 29:16Speaker 3: We like to go for two heavy ones in the
- 29:18Speaker 3: forward line and then maybe have a third cheap option
- 29:20Speaker 3: that's playing, and he does kind of fit that bracket
- 29:22Speaker 3: quite nicely right now.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree. Actually, who do you think the three
- 29:26Speaker 1: best are then, Joels?
- 29:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree for Isido if you want a cheaper
- 29:30Speaker 4: third foster as well, at Burnley could be in that bracket.
- 29:34Speaker 4: They start with Bowen, who's actually, if you look at it,
- 29:37Speaker 4: the third best forward in the game right now with
- 29:39Speaker 4: thirty three points, and.
- 29:40Speaker 2: The price drops as well for Bout Yeah, yeah, price dropped.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Nuno coming in.
- 29:44Speaker 4: We saw him scoring a really nice well against Everton
- 29:46Speaker 4: on Monday night, and I think I think Nuno's style,
- 29:51Speaker 4: which we saw a Forest and at Wolves to a
- 29:53Speaker 4: certain extent, not with the same success, but could suit
- 29:56Speaker 4: Bowen and Packet and some of it by the way,
- 29:59Speaker 4: who I thought this and against Everton two really could
- 30:02Speaker 4: suit them, I think, and we could see a much
- 30:04Speaker 4: better version of them than what we saw that we've
- 30:07Speaker 4: seen so far. Sorry this season and the grind Potter,
- 30:10Speaker 4: but Bowen, even with the bad start of west Ham,
- 30:12Speaker 4: he's still still thirty three points of four this season
- 30:15Speaker 4: and again the third third most points in the in
- 30:17Speaker 4: the forward section. So I think Bowen is one to
- 30:20Speaker 4: keep an eye on. And then there's volto Malada I
- 30:22Speaker 4: mentioned earlier, because the fixtures are nice from a Newcastle
- 30:25Speaker 4: point of view, because he's scoring goals right now that
- 30:29Speaker 4: is not really the kind of goals that you expect
- 30:31Speaker 4: him to score. Last season in the whole of the
- 30:33Speaker 4: Bundesliga with Sugar, he had one goal with his head.
- 30:36Speaker 2: He already has.
- 30:36Speaker 4: Two with Newcastle this season and trust me, he's not
- 30:38Speaker 4: a good head of the boat at all.
- 30:40Speaker 2: This is not what he likes doing.
- 30:41Speaker 4: So once Newcastle play on his strength as well, which
- 30:44Speaker 4: they don't really do right now because he's still adapting
- 30:47Speaker 4: to their style and integrating into this team, he's going
- 30:50Speaker 4: to be even better.
- 30:51Speaker 2: And it's seven point one million.
- 30:53Speaker 4: I think he's already had a price rise, so it's
- 30:56Speaker 4: not cheap. But I think with the firepower they've got
- 30:59Speaker 4: going far forwards, I think it could be a decent option.
- 31:02Speaker 4: And he's load on less than five percent right now.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Okay, and just a quick word on Esac before we
- 31:07Speaker 1: move on. Neither of you feeling that happy, I can
- 31:10Speaker 1: tell from your faces yours has already said it. Sam,
- 31:12Speaker 1: Where do you stand on that at the moment?
- 31:16Speaker 3: Well, echitk went off in the Champions League, like you
- 31:18Speaker 3: just said, in his brand up. We have to see
- 31:20Speaker 3: how that is. I hope hopefully for es SAC's starting's sake.
- 31:25Speaker 3: It means he can't start at the weekend, but you
- 31:27Speaker 3: know he's available to come on. That'd be nice. The
- 31:30Speaker 3: fixtures are interesting, aren't they, Because obviously it's Chelsea up
- 31:33Speaker 3: next to They're going to be without charliber now because
- 31:36Speaker 3: he was sent off in game week six, so that
- 31:39Speaker 3: the Chelsea backline is going to be weaken and then
- 31:42Speaker 3: after that it's Manchester United Brentford Austin Villa before Manchester City.
- 31:48Speaker 3: Like Liverpool, do have to improve across those games, and
- 31:51Speaker 3: I do wonder whether we might see a bit of
- 31:53Speaker 3: a change of system to get Essak a bit more
- 31:55Speaker 3: into into things and maybe set him off running, because
- 31:58Speaker 3: I don't think the system of Liverpool playing is working
- 32:00Speaker 3: great well for them right now, so and give them
- 32:02Speaker 3: a couple of weeks if we get to the man
- 32:04Speaker 3: City game in eleven, possibly even the Villa game, because
- 32:08Speaker 3: at the time when Liverpool playing Villa in Manchester City,
- 32:11Speaker 3: Ocueza's got Bernie in Sunderland. So I think I'll probably
- 32:15Speaker 3: wait until just ahead of ten and then make a
- 32:17Speaker 3: call on Esak and hope that he's returned in those
- 32:19Speaker 3: periods because in doing that, I'm also missing out on
- 32:22Speaker 3: West ham Pham and Palace for Arsenal. So it's a
- 32:25Speaker 3: tough one. He's a tough hold.
- 32:27Speaker 1: Okay, all right, then let's move on to Differential of
- 32:30Speaker 1: the week. A reminder, differential player I owned by under
- 32:33Speaker 1: ten percent. Sam is eye rolling. I wonder if that's
- 32:36Speaker 1: because she what we're going to do? Yeah? Was it
- 32:38Speaker 1: game week seven?
- 32:39Speaker 2: Game?
- 32:39Speaker 1: What were game week we on? You're on game week seven,
- 32:41Speaker 1: aren't we? And Sam? How many returns have you had
- 32:43Speaker 1: for me? Differentials?
- 32:44Speaker 3: None? Love beating you every week?
- 32:50Speaker 2: Oh my god?
- 32:50Speaker 4: You know the word curb when you see the board
- 32:53Speaker 4: and there's only all the blue from Europe.
- 32:55Speaker 2: That's me, That's that's me.
- 32:57Speaker 4: I would I would like see the spreadsheet with all
- 32:59Speaker 4: my my win please.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Okay, I'll share it with you.
- 33:02Speaker 1: So I don't know why Joels is quite so cocky,
- 33:04Speaker 1: because I mean, he's outscored you by one point, but
- 33:06Speaker 1: neither of your differentials returned. Fodon got a point, you.
- 33:10Speaker 3: Know, swell in that game that we have had Man
- 33:12Speaker 3: City players and neither of them got anything.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I rarely got two points, so congratulations to
- 33:18Speaker 1: both of you. Grand total of three not even enough
- 33:21Speaker 1: for one return between the two of you. I mean,
- 33:23Speaker 1: Jeels you narrowly want, so you do get to go first, Thank.
- 33:27Speaker 2: You very much.
- 33:27Speaker 4: My differential this week is Akuba Minte Brighton, who is
- 33:31Speaker 4: in absolutely banging form five point nine million, so you know,
- 33:36Speaker 4: I think at decent price if you have a slot
- 33:38Speaker 4: in that midfield for him, only on by two point
- 33:41Speaker 4: three percent of the managers. He gives you pretty much
- 33:45Speaker 4: and is zero point forty forty seven. But I give
- 33:48Speaker 4: him the zero point five expected goals plus assist for
- 33:52Speaker 4: nineteen minutes so far in the league. So he creates
- 33:54Speaker 4: a lot, and I know sometimes the end product is
- 33:56Speaker 4: a little bit frustrating because I think he's so so
- 33:59Speaker 4: good until maybe that last part or the last shot.
- 34:01Speaker 2: But he's getting better at it and I.
- 34:02Speaker 4: Think working with al will will really help him and
- 34:05Speaker 4: he's he's going to develop really really well. So Minte,
- 34:08Speaker 4: for me, all that pace Brighton play Wolves at the weekend.
- 34:13Speaker 2: He already has one goals.
- 34:14Speaker 4: And to assist in the first six Premier League matches,
- 34:17Speaker 4: so not bad at all. And I really think that
- 34:19Speaker 4: he's the main threat now for this brightoned team that
- 34:21Speaker 4: play is attacking football. So hopefully there should be a
- 34:25Speaker 4: good weekend for Yakuba Minte.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Okay, I quite like that pick so.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Well.
- 34:31Speaker 3: At this point, I feel like, whoever I pick, I'm
- 34:33Speaker 3: just jinxing. So like, sorry to anyone that owns Deck
- 34:36Speaker 3: and Rise, because I'm going to jinx him this week.
- 34:38Speaker 3: He's going to cost you. As we've mentioned, six point
- 34:40Speaker 3: five million. He's own by eight point two percent of managers.
- 34:42Speaker 3: He's got three attacking returns so far this season and
- 34:45Speaker 3: is averaging five point six points per start. It's also
- 34:47Speaker 3: suppribed the most crosses at Arsenal with thirty two, has
- 34:50Speaker 3: created the most chances at Arsenal with nine, and of
- 34:53Speaker 3: those nine, two have been big chances. He's also top
- 34:56Speaker 3: for expected assists across the Arsenal team. So Deck and Rise,
- 35:01Speaker 3: but if this one doesn't return, we might as well
- 35:03Speaker 3: just I might as well just give Jors the win
- 35:05Speaker 3: right now for the whole season.
- 35:06Speaker 1: At this point, she's defeated.
- 35:12Speaker 3: The thing is, Kelly, I'm normally really good. This is
- 35:14Speaker 3: normally the thing I'm really good at is picking out
- 35:16Speaker 3: the differentials and for some reason this season has been horrendous.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, well do your team's getting better, so maybe
- 35:25Speaker 1: a differentials will get better.
- 35:26Speaker 3: That's let's hope that that's the case. Let's hope the
- 35:28Speaker 3: upward trajectory on my team also is reflected in what
- 35:32Speaker 3: happens in my differentials as well.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, all right, well let's move on to transfers
- 35:36Speaker 1: and captains. Are you doing anything this week?
- 35:39Speaker 4: I mean, because I convinced myself with my great differential
- 35:42Speaker 4: of Yakuba Minte, I think I might bring him in
- 35:44Speaker 4: for Rinders.
- 35:44Speaker 2: The thing with Rinders, I love Rinders.
- 35:46Speaker 1: Hold on, I was going to say, I think you're
- 35:47Speaker 1: a fan. You said he's him in your round up,
- 35:50Speaker 1: so why would you do?
- 35:51Speaker 4: Yeah, you should have for two goals against when I
- 35:54Speaker 4: call on Wednesday night.
- 35:54Speaker 2: He was very good. It's just that I don't know.
- 36:00Speaker 4: He was great against that assist for for Hrland and
- 36:06Speaker 4: and that's pretty much all he did in the game.
- 36:07Speaker 4: With the board going forward, because that's what I mean, like,
- 36:09Speaker 4: I want Rinders to be scoring or assisting goals, not
- 36:13Speaker 4: the defending and fraud plays.
- 36:16Speaker 3: Right, If Roudery plays, then Rinders is much better from an.
- 36:19Speaker 4: Evidence for the play essentially now, and it feels like
- 36:22Speaker 4: food them takes a lot of the boat in those
- 36:23Speaker 4: key areas. And against United there was not much from Rinders.
- 36:26Speaker 4: Against Burnley at the weekend, I mean, they score five
- 36:29Speaker 4: goals or four goals, they've got nothing for there was
- 36:31Speaker 4: nothing from Rinders either. And there's there's there's there's shots
- 36:34Speaker 4: where he's not far but not far.
- 36:37Speaker 2: It's not a great either for for a game, you know.
- 36:39Speaker 2: So that's that's the thing. So that might be what
- 36:42Speaker 2: I'm doing.
- 36:43Speaker 4: I'm not sure yet, but I think Minta is a
- 36:44Speaker 4: really good option, not just because it's my differential, but
- 36:46Speaker 4: I think it's a really good option too.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Okay, Sam, what about you?
- 36:50Speaker 3: I think I'm just going to roll. I looked at
- 36:53Speaker 3: my team for this week, and when I set it
- 36:55Speaker 3: up on wild card, I was like, right, the next
- 36:57Speaker 3: three weeks, barring an injury, they should be able to
- 37:00Speaker 3: play through. My hope is that I can play through
- 37:04Speaker 3: this week, bench boots next week with a playthrough, and
- 37:07Speaker 3: then have five transfers heading into game.
- 37:10Speaker 1: You're hoping that you can play through an international break
- 37:13Speaker 1: as well and with no transfers.
- 37:15Speaker 3: Or Yeah, that's the hope and bench boost after the
- 37:18Speaker 3: international break as well cls and you.
- 37:21Speaker 1: Need every single is to go well.
- 37:24Speaker 3: Everything needs to go well, which has not really been
- 37:27Speaker 3: how this season has gone. But that's the plan. So
- 37:29Speaker 3: this week I look at it. Jill Pedro is the
- 37:31Speaker 3: one I dislike the most in my team at the moment.
- 37:35Speaker 3: Having said that, it's a Liverpool team without Allison who
- 37:39Speaker 3: are sleepwalking into conceding goals theft Wright and center. So
- 37:43Speaker 3: I think I'll just give Jill Pedro this one more
- 37:45Speaker 3: game and then we'll look at it after the Chelsea game.
- 37:48Speaker 3: And maybe because because I'm planning to bench boost, and
- 37:51Speaker 3: because international duty for Jill Pedro is not great in
- 37:54Speaker 3: terms of the distance that he's going to travel, maybe
- 37:57Speaker 3: I might sell him ahead of my bench boost in
- 38:00Speaker 3: game week eight. But right now I think I'll just
- 38:03Speaker 3: need to be boring and roll my ch answer.
- 38:05Speaker 1: Okay, So in terms of World Cards, we spoke about
- 38:07Speaker 1: World Cars last week is obviously you guys World carded s.
- 38:10Speaker 1: A lot of people did play the chip. There's currently
- 38:13Speaker 1: over two hundred and seventy six thousand active for this week.
- 38:16Speaker 1: If people haven't played it so far, when would you
- 38:18Speaker 1: kind of recommend or it always now the time to
- 38:21Speaker 1: kind of take advantage of the likes of Arsenal's fixtures swinging.
- 38:24Speaker 3: A lot of the other content creators who played their
- 38:27Speaker 3: triple captain chip last week have gone straight from the
- 38:30Speaker 3: Hipple Captain into a wildcard this week, because I think
- 38:33Speaker 3: it does make sense. It allows you to target Arsenal
- 38:36Speaker 3: and Manchester City's fixture swings, It allows you to jump
- 38:38Speaker 3: off those players that we're not entirely sure about. It
- 38:41Speaker 3: allows you to make some good decisions moving forward. The
- 38:43Speaker 3: only thing that it doesn't do is give you the
- 38:45Speaker 3: knowledge of the international break. So I think this week
- 38:49Speaker 3: or wait a week and go in the international break
- 38:51Speaker 3: are probably the right moments to do it, because you know,
- 38:54Speaker 3: maybe we're seeing a little bit of a change at
- 38:56Speaker 3: west Ham with the new manager coming in. They looked
- 38:58Speaker 3: a lot better on Munday, so you know, maybe Arsenal
- 39:02Speaker 3: you could wait one more week on if you want to,
- 39:04Speaker 3: or just use a transfer to go on an Arsenal
- 39:06Speaker 3: player and then use it over the international break where
- 39:08Speaker 3: you're going to have knowledge of international minutes and all
- 39:12Speaker 3: of that jazz. So I do kind of like it
- 39:15Speaker 3: this week cause I'm actually surprised that you're not world
- 39:17Speaker 3: card in this week. You to cont week.
- 39:21Speaker 1: Because I just think taking a minus four and then
- 39:24Speaker 1: doing a world card the next week, just to me,
- 39:26Speaker 1: just doesn't feel quite right. Although I am at risk
- 39:28Speaker 1: of not having arsenal. So yeah, there was there was
- 39:31Speaker 1: a serious saw pattern, but I think I think it's
- 39:32Speaker 1: going to be next week.
- 39:33Speaker 3: Take another minus four to get arsenal.
- 39:35Speaker 1: No, I won't. I can't get one this week.
- 39:39Speaker 3: You're not going to have the arsenal for this week.
- 39:41Speaker 1: Don't laugh at me.
- 39:42Speaker 4: Tools don't think it's just I would never take a
- 39:46Speaker 4: minus for ever in my life.
- 39:47Speaker 1: Again, I'm not taking this week. I'm not going to
- 39:50Speaker 1: say no.
- 39:51Speaker 4: But at the start of the season you often say,
- 39:53Speaker 4: like one of my decisions for this season coming is
- 39:57Speaker 4: not to take minus four, and then you take one,
- 40:00Speaker 4: and no.
- 40:01Speaker 2: I'm not.
- 40:02Speaker 1: I'm definitely not going to take one for an Arsenal player.
- 40:04Speaker 2: I could.
- 40:05Speaker 1: I have a couple of ways of getting them. I've
- 40:07Speaker 1: just got to work out if I'm comfortable doing that.
- 40:10Speaker 1: But yeah, obviously took a minus for last week, but
- 40:12Speaker 1: I just find it really has to taken minus fare
- 40:13Speaker 1: and then a wild card. You can't you I almost
- 40:15Speaker 1: put you in a couple of weeks. Well I did
- 40:17Speaker 1: pay it back straight away, didn't it. But yeah, I
- 40:19Speaker 1: don't want to.
- 40:19Speaker 3: Well you kind of your minuses already paid.
- 40:21Speaker 1: Off, like yeah, yeah, I'm still not sure on my
- 40:24Speaker 1: front line though the conversation we've just where would you
- 40:27Speaker 1: want just a defender? I think probably just Timber or
- 40:31Speaker 1: even maybe this week I just cover myself and I
- 40:33Speaker 1: could just do like a Grealish to Rice, But that's
- 40:36Speaker 1: a pretty boring kind of I haven't got goep. You're
- 40:42Speaker 1: just Greish selling him again fashion just very quickly. Captains,
- 40:51Speaker 1: guys here were going with.
- 40:55Speaker 2: Probably if you have some menu, a home to Fulham
- 40:58Speaker 2: is decent. I know you can't. But for people who
- 41:04Speaker 2: are not OCD like you.
- 41:06Speaker 4: Maybe the thing what would say with soccer and Arsonal
- 41:09Speaker 4: players or roll against west Ham is going to be
- 41:11Speaker 4: a war, like a double war?
- 41:12Speaker 2: Right for this game?
- 41:13Speaker 4: You know it already that West tim I'm going to
- 41:15Speaker 4: just be that kind of team on Saturday.
- 41:18Speaker 2: So it might not be pretty for Arsenal.
- 41:20Speaker 4: They might score early and then destroy them, but it
- 41:24Speaker 4: might also be difficult because you know is going to
- 41:26Speaker 4: build a wall. So I mean, let's see I think
- 41:30Speaker 4: Harland even away. Also, men, you are home to.
- 41:33Speaker 2: Full Harland a whare Branford is probably the way to
- 41:35Speaker 2: go for me, so.
- 41:36Speaker 3: I agree, Yeah, I'm going Harland. I kind of do
- 41:39Speaker 3: want to go Socca. I like the upside points of
- 41:41Speaker 3: a midfielder as well the clean sheet potential.
- 41:44Speaker 1: And but you just said, maybe this is me trying
- 41:46Speaker 1: to persuade myself. But you just said, noo knows west
- 41:48Speaker 1: Ham a better.
- 41:49Speaker 3: Yeah they are, and they did look a lot better,
- 41:51Speaker 3: which is what's put me off that. I also kind
- 41:53Speaker 3: of like going really rogue on Easak against a week
- 41:56Speaker 3: in Chelsea defense. But I'm just going to play it
- 41:59Speaker 3: safe and go with Hart and I think this.
- 42:00Speaker 1: Week, yeah, it does feel like that's the sensible move,
- 42:02Speaker 1: particularly with so many people ree and Harland dih okay,
- 42:04Speaker 1: that's why we'll leave it. I reminder it's a Friday
- 42:06Speaker 1: deadline this week because Bournemouth versus Fulham is the Friday
- 42:10Speaker 1: night football deadline then is six at thirty pm. The
- 42:13Speaker 1: fantasy shows back Jenny's in the studio with me on
- 42:16Speaker 1: Friday morning. Off the Bench will also be back on Tuesday.
- 42:18Speaker 1: As in Lee talking is through all the key talking
- 42:20Speaker 1: points from gay Week seven. Ahead of the international break,
- 42:23Speaker 1: there might not be any football for us to preview
- 42:25Speaker 1: next week. As always, we'll be back guys, so have
- 42:27Speaker 1: a good week on weekend and I hope your loads
- 42:29Speaker 1: of points will see them
