- 0:00Good morning. Welcome to today's pre-market podcast. So yesterday was a bright day after a couple of red days on the NGX as you had the Aussie index gain 0.45%. But that appreciation was largely due to a 10% gain in the price of Airtel Africa. So if we strip that gain away, most likely the market would have closed at a much, much slimmer green.
- 0:28or probably would have closed in the negative in any case what's on my radar in today's trading session first is mtn uh nigeria you had a dip in the price of mtn nigeria uh it fell by 27 era to close at 720. uh so far even though what i saw yesterday yesterday's trading session i saw a couple of trades around there i believe 717 718 um
- 0:57I saw a few people mention that they bought the stock around the 700 range. I can't confirm that, but well, if they say so, I have no reason to doubt their veracity. So let's see how MTN and Jua trade today. It's unlikely we would see another bounce in Airtel Africa. So if you have no bounce from a big cap stock like Airtel and you have other big cap stocks dropping, then you may see us going back to the red zone.
- 1:26i'm also watching and if you follow the pre-market videos i do i'm watching the zenith bank and gtco sending bank close at a hundred and uh 110 naira uh just on the dots 110 there uh so for me in any ways getting this stock is a no-brainer especially if you have in 12 months 18 more timelines simply because this is one of the best run banks in the country
- 1:55you can probably play it side by side with GTCO and you have Zenith Bank trading below book value there's no reason with all the cleanups that were done last year for Zenith Bank to be trading below book value so I think the book value is in the either 115 120 range there's no reason why this stock should trade below book value and I expect to see a rebound even if not even if it doesn't happen this year investing is a long-term journey and even as a trader if you want to trade I don't think Zenith is a stock you trade
- 2:25You want to go with stocks that have a bit more momentum. So Zenit on my radar, GTC on my radar. They both fell yesterday. For me, GTC becomes a buy in slash win. It starts to trade almost at par with Zenit. So far, we're not there yet. GTC is just 15 Naira more expensive than Zenit. GTC closed at 125, but both are in the red yesterday. The publishing stocks are on my radar.
- 2:52uh yesterday you had land africa drop its results day before i think you had the university press drop their results for land africa i'm looking forward to the market reaction i must confess i didn't see the market reaction i was expecting i don't think the market has fully digested that result simply because a slight uptick in top line and bottom line
- 3:17dividend paid was 25 global so i was expecting for stock trading at nine hours expecting a bit more pounds to the stock maybe we'll see that today for pz cousins nigeria results were also out yesterday even if you strip away the one of income those results are materially lower than what you see the stock fell yesterday
- 3:43i i'm not sure why that was the case maybe it was just overall market sentiment so we're paying attention uh to uh pz cousins nigeria uh it's um it's a few weeks ago so now above 100 now it's trading at 35.5 so the question is are we going to have an 18 hour support zone uh for this stock and then a few other stocks on my radar are small cap stocks but i still tend to watch them uh carefully
- 4:13I'm talking about the likes of your WAPIC Insurance, your Sovereign Trust Insurance, those are stocks I put on my radar. Sovereign Trust fell below the 2 Naira range, 1 Naira 91 couple. I mean, right now with the way the market is, I was thinking that the days of 1, 2 Naira stocks are over, 1 Naira and some 1 Naira stocks are over, but it seems those days are truly over. When you see the dancing, you're seeing...
- 4:43in the likes of Sovereign Trust Insurance, Universal Insurance, Regency Alliance Insurance. All those penny insurance stocks are on my radar. Custodian, as I round up the English side of things, Custodian dipped yesterday. Custodian is a stock that barely moves. So when you see Custodian moving, you should pay close attention to that stock. Custodian, I failed to adjust.
- 5:12just above the just above the 66 naira mark or just below the 66 naira mark custodian close at 65 985 corporate share um still well above book value but it looks definitely i probably would think out my tables and we'll discuss this uh over the weekend if the price stays here but it definitely is approaching a buy zone i definitely would say that custodian at 50 55 60.
- 5:43definitely would be a buy. Is it a buy at this price point? Yes, especially if you have a five-year timeline. This is a stock I can put out, stick out my head and say in the next three to five years, because Sweden is going to be trading at 100 naira or more. When it will get there, I don't know. Is that wise? Not it is. This is just merely my opinion. I like to say, if you want to go to heaven or hell, as a personal decision, that's not a decision for me to make. And in any other case, to go to heaven, you die.
- 6:12go to hell you die switching over to the pigeon english side of things my people money a market be sweet yesterday so but you know say now one masquerade will make the masculine market be sweet now i tell africa you see now big cap stock as we go the column now big masquerade when they move up the market they move up when they move down the market may move down and so i tell africa begin uh 10 yesterday i can't move the market up by 0.45 percent
- 6:41but don't look down one don't look just only one side of this i forget say tell africa make the market switch to get socks with four so kind big big mass crazy for sending back for a fall rich one 10 gt code for the forest 125 so naturally you can all do stocks you say as the market they be as some stocks they fall down some people not they're too happy as the stocks they go up some people they happy because with those we don't keep money outside or those with money in their hand and at the time for them to start to divide
- 7:11uh mtn nigeria another masquerade for a comfort rich uh 720 so we will see whether the thing go for today uh we don't know but the way this market will be if it just be says okay big big masquerade is the first small market is for uh you can elude the lack of a say the wapik insurance for small sovereign trust insurance in four small so those are two stocks where they put iron and not be small you know insurance a deadline for insurance stocks
- 7:39For the new capital, the government will tell all of us to get this kind of money at the deadline, like this month. So all insurance stocks, all of them, they sit up. All of them, they're strong-faced. Because you don't say that money matters. When the government says, you must hold this money to do business for the country, you don't get the money if you collect your license or you guys sort it out yourself. And you don't say anybody will get business or anybody will be a big man for an insurance company. Nobody wants to change the situation. So all man is square-faced.
- 8:08or man a strong face for this matter so now why would the world market be this well as market it be sometimes if they go up people be happy those really won't say they happy when they go down those who won't buy the happy so i saw market it be and we will look the market we'll see as today could be we can go around myself if you get the time six o'clock niger time the video good day uh crossover go that side you don't see many many of these hands i need money with this
- 8:37already nine years on the long but the video if you settle down if you watch and look at me look at the numbers while they talk and so make a goal also for my daily 2k who jumped for me the other day be that
