- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from KFI AM
- 0:04Speaker 1: six forty.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Yeah, it sort of looks like a Chrystmas tree, but
- 0:13Speaker 2: it really isn't because note, what are the colors on it?
- 0:16Speaker 3: Blue and white? Blue and white.
- 0:20Speaker 2: You're getting there, And the little angel on top of
- 0:25Speaker 2: the tree is what a little nor Now it's a
- 0:28Speaker 2: bank book that's lit out. Yes, that's true.
- 0:32Speaker 1: And now handle on the news, ladies and gentlemen. Here's
- 0:37Speaker 1: Bill Handle.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Good morning everybody.
- 0:41Speaker 2: It is a Wednesday, December seventeenth. As we move ahead
- 0:48Speaker 2: with program, okay, quickly, what is what do we celebrate
- 0:51Speaker 2: today December seventeenth, one two three four.
- 0:54Speaker 4: My brother's birthday?
- 0:56Speaker 3: Okay, that's very strong. Okay. In addition to your brother's birthday, what.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Is it is the commemoration of the first man flight
- 1:06Speaker 2: on the planet by the right brothers. Wow, Kitty Hawk,
- 1:10Speaker 2: North Carolina.
- 1:11Speaker 4: Do you just know that?
- 1:12Speaker 3: Yeah? Nineteen oh three? Yep.
- 1:15Speaker 2: And who was the first person to actually fly that airplane?
- 1:20Speaker 3: Was it wilbur was at Orville?
- 1:24Speaker 4: I don't know it.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Was Orville.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Was although the longest flight of the day, the longest
- 1:32Speaker 2: flight of the day was fifty nine seconds, and that
- 1:35Speaker 2: was a Wilber flight, and there was a photograph at
- 1:41Speaker 2: that moment that exists, just extraordinary photograph. And then the
- 1:44Speaker 2: right flyer is in the Smithsonian, I mean the original
- 1:49Speaker 2: right flyer. You can see it. You look at that.
- 1:51Speaker 2: That was the first powered flight on the planet.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Okay, enough of that. A little bit of history decided
- 1:58Speaker 3: to throw that at you.
- 1:58Speaker 4: It's also what teen fifteen sixteen seven, fourth day of Honkah?
- 2:02Speaker 2: Right, today is the fourth day of Honkikah. And I'm
- 2:05Speaker 2: lighting my Honica cameras and I don't know if we
- 2:10Speaker 2: can Maybe I'll post this because Lindsay gave me my mayamica.
- 2:18Speaker 4: Looks like an elf hat.
- 2:20Speaker 3: It does look like an elf hat.
- 2:21Speaker 2: It's a yamica with a little thing on it and
- 2:23Speaker 2: the other thing is and I wore this this morning
- 2:25Speaker 2: as I got on the air, as I started talking
- 2:27Speaker 2: to speaking with Anne.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Is my Santa clap.
- 2:31Speaker 4: Cap oh loo Santa hat?
- 2:34Speaker 3: And it says what oi oi? Yeah? Very strong?
- 2:39Speaker 2: Okay, I'm being made a lot of fun of the
- 2:44Speaker 2: Jewish family here. Did I tell you that Lindsay wanted
- 2:47Speaker 2: to convert when you first got together, Yes, yeah, and
- 2:51Speaker 2: you said no, you wouldn't let her. I wouldn't let
- 2:54Speaker 2: her because I've already been married to a Jewish woman.
- 2:57Speaker 2: I don't want to do that again. Know I've had
- 3:00Speaker 2: enough of that, right, all right? Fair enough?
- 3:03Speaker 3: Good morning Amy, Good morning Bill.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Oh and there is Ocona. Both of you are in
- 3:08Speaker 2: red today. It's Christmas Christmas, well not yet, but red
- 3:13Speaker 2: and green red, big red guy. Yeah to red. So
- 3:17Speaker 2: you're a Kansas City Chiefs fan. Fair enough? Okay?
- 3:21Speaker 3: Oh, talking about fans.
- 3:23Speaker 2: There's an La Dodgers what hoodie with will yes under
- 3:27Speaker 2: it inside of it?
- 3:29Speaker 3: Pardon?
- 3:29Speaker 1: I was lazy this morning and cold, so it's like
- 3:32Speaker 1: I'm gonna wear a hoodie.
- 3:33Speaker 2: Okay, well, yeah, you know, very hoodie like. And then Amy,
- 3:37Speaker 2: I just said hello and good morning, good morning.
- 3:39Speaker 3: Oh and you're wearing a park it's cold, huh? Freezing
- 3:42Speaker 3: in the studio.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Foggy, foggy and freezing in the studio.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Yes, yes, And Neil is not here today.
- 3:52Speaker 2: He is gone all week and coming up next week Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
- 3:59Speaker 2: I will be here. Neil will be here Monday Tuesday. Correct,
- 4:03Speaker 2: let me get this right.
- 4:05Speaker 3: No, he will not. Okay, he is not. So I'm
- 4:08Speaker 3: by myself again. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday because he's hosting
- 4:12Speaker 3: Christmas Eve.
- 4:14Speaker 2: Okay, but what happens with Monday and Tuesday? So low again, Okay,
- 4:20Speaker 2: it's just Amy and me. Okay, fair enough, we've got
- 4:26Speaker 2: you know. I tried every day. I try to stay
- 4:29Speaker 2: away from Trump News. I try as hard as I can.
- 4:33Speaker 2: You can't, you absolutely can't. So we're gonna do it
- 4:38Speaker 2: as little as possible. We have some Republican news, straight
- 4:42Speaker 2: out Republican medical news with Jim McKinney coming in at
- 4:46Speaker 2: eight thirty, and a story about artificial Christmas trees that
- 4:50Speaker 2: I'm be doing later on and that's at eight twenty
- 4:55Speaker 2: because I have two artificial trees at home. I have
- 5:00Speaker 2: one traditional Christmas tree, artificial and one which I call
- 5:05Speaker 2: the Honka bush, also artificial and death.
- 5:10Speaker 3: There are really good reasons to buy artificial trees.
- 5:14Speaker 2: They used to be a lot more expensive than traditional trees.
- 5:19Speaker 2: I mean, artificial trees used to cost so much more
- 5:21Speaker 2: than fresh cut real trees that have died instantly when
- 5:27Speaker 2: you cut them, and I tell you it's gone the
- 5:30Speaker 2: other way around. Amy, you were talking about artificial trees.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Do you have a real artificial tree or you have
- 5:37Speaker 2: one at.
- 5:37Speaker 4: All, I didn't get one this year, which is like
- 5:41Speaker 4: the first time in forever. So I do have a
- 5:43Speaker 4: Charlie Brown Christmas tree, but otherwise I am a real
- 5:45Speaker 4: Christmas tree person.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:47Speaker 2: And the argument though is number one, they are insanely expensive.
- 5:51Speaker 2: They have gotten so much more expensive than even real trees.
- 5:55Speaker 2: So if you're looking at money, really you're better off
- 5:59Speaker 2: with artificial tree. And then the hassle factor of a
- 6:02Speaker 2: real tree, I mean today, so good, yeah, so well.
- 6:06Speaker 3: You are fine.
- 6:07Speaker 2: So you put a fake tree and you put one
- 6:09Speaker 2: of those air freshener things with the pine smell into
- 6:12Speaker 2: the wall and you're done. Okay, finished, not the same
- 6:16Speaker 2: stop it and then you have and then you have
- 6:21Speaker 2: it's already pre lit. You don't put those lights, you know,
- 6:26Speaker 2: the big gulping, massive lights with all the colors on them.
- 6:30Speaker 2: It looks so just horrible, you know, so dated. So
- 6:35Speaker 2: nineteen fifties. Okay, all right, a tree. Let me go
- 6:40Speaker 2: around the circle again.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Cono, do you have a tree, real tree, real tree?
- 6:44Speaker 3: All right? Will do you have a tree? Little baby? Artificial?
- 6:48Speaker 3: Okay and real tree? Right, we have one of each.
- 6:53Speaker 4: We got the artificial in the family room and then
- 6:55Speaker 4: we got a nice, big, real one in the living room.
- 6:58Speaker 3: How much was that? And how tall is it?
- 7:00Speaker 4: It's nine feet.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Okay, now we're talking money and about fifty two hundred
- 7:06Speaker 2: and fifty dollars to throw to throw away. Let me
- 7:12Speaker 2: go back to the wall mounted air freshener. Two hundred
- 7:16Speaker 2: and fifty dollars and it's gone. So Lindsay found a
- 7:19Speaker 2: nine foot tree artificial tree which is on knockout for
- 7:24Speaker 2: three hundred bucks. The one they sell at Costco for
- 7:27Speaker 2: eight hundred bucks.
- 7:28Speaker 4: No, it it's tree.
- 7:29Speaker 3: You can put them up earlier too. Yeah, well, it
- 7:31Speaker 3: takes seconds to put them up and then you have
- 7:33Speaker 3: to store.
- 7:34Speaker 4: You're not going to put a real tree up, you know,
- 7:36Speaker 4: the day Thanksgiving, because it'll be dead by Christmas.
- 7:38Speaker 3: That's true. And that's what everybody does.
- 7:40Speaker 2: You put up a tree for Thanksgiving, and you have
- 7:42Speaker 2: the tree, and you get presence underneath there and you
- 7:44Speaker 2: do all that goamn stuff that you people do over there. Okay, guys,
- 7:49Speaker 2: you're ready to do it. It is time for handle
- 7:51Speaker 2: on the news, Amy and Me lead story. Well, Nick Reiner,
- 8:02Speaker 2: Rob and Michelle's son has been charged with murder and
- 8:05Speaker 2: their deaths.
- 8:05Speaker 3: We're getting some additional information.
- 8:08Speaker 2: They were at a party, all of them were at
- 8:10Speaker 2: a party the night before at Conan O'Brien's house, and
- 8:14Speaker 2: it looked like there was some kind of a fight,
- 8:16Speaker 2: an altercation, not physical, between a Rob Reiner and his son,
- 8:21Speaker 2: and it's obviously i'll tell you the defense. So he
- 8:24Speaker 2: was charged with first degree murder and if convicted, which
- 8:28Speaker 2: I don't see how he's not going to be, it's
- 8:30Speaker 2: either life imprisonment without possibility of parole LWOP, or it's
- 8:36Speaker 2: the death penalty, which is not going to be instituted.
- 8:39Speaker 2: And we're finding, you know, just the end. Nick Reiner
- 8:45Speaker 2: was described as being disheveled and sort of spacey and
- 8:49Speaker 2: really not knowing where he was and having weird conversations
- 8:52Speaker 2: with people. So his defense is going to be one
- 8:57Speaker 2: of insanity, that he was not in his right mind.
- 9:01Speaker 2: And another story in a killing, horrific.
- 9:05Speaker 4: Murder Times fifteen, the surviving suspected shooter in that mass
- 9:11Speaker 4: shooting at Bandai Beach in Sydney, Australia has been charged
- 9:14Speaker 4: with murder, terrorism and other charges I think fifty nine
- 9:19Speaker 4: charges in all against Navid Akram. The shooting at a
- 9:23Speaker 4: beachside celebration on Sunday. Fifteen people dead, including a ten
- 9:28Speaker 4: year old girl and a Holocaust survivor who is the
- 9:32Speaker 4: grandfather of eleven.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Can you imagine surviving the Holocaust and getting getting killed
- 9:38Speaker 2: on the beach?
- 9:40Speaker 3: Crazy?
- 9:40Speaker 2: Unfortunately, and there is no death penalty in Australia. Very
- 9:45Speaker 2: very few countries have the death penalty, certainly not in
- 9:48Speaker 2: the industrialized world. South Africa may still have it, but
- 9:53Speaker 2: the United States is alone in the death penalty. So
- 9:57Speaker 2: it's going to be l watt for them. He'll be
- 10:00Speaker 2: this gentleman will be in jail for the rest of
- 10:03Speaker 2: his life.
- 10:04Speaker 4: New video still no face. The Providence, Rhode Island Police
- 10:09Speaker 4: Department has released a new video of what they are
- 10:12Speaker 4: calling the person of interest in the Brown University shooting
- 10:15Speaker 4: and is asking the public to really pay attention to
- 10:19Speaker 4: the shooter's posture, his gait, his body language in hopes
- 10:23Speaker 4: that somebody is going to recognize him because they still
- 10:25Speaker 4: don't have a picture of his face. The newly released
- 10:28Speaker 4: footage is a video from about two hours before the shooting.
- 10:33Speaker 4: The police chief said it shows the guy casing the area,
- 10:36Speaker 4: which he says is what criminals do. They've been looking
- 10:39Speaker 4: for this guy since Sunday when somebody dressed in all
- 10:43Speaker 4: black with a face mask on shot and killed at
- 10:46Speaker 4: least two people in wounded nine others at Brown University
- 10:50Speaker 4: as students were preparing for final exams.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Yeah, without a tip, I think this case is going
- 10:54Speaker 2: to be very difficult to solve, you know, arresting someone
- 11:00Speaker 2: because of.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Gate, although it has been used.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Gate has been introduced in court and has been admitted
- 11:06Speaker 2: into evidence.
- 11:08Speaker 4: Well, I wouldn't you think too, though. I mean, if
- 11:11Speaker 4: they when they find the guy, there are survivors who
- 11:15Speaker 4: probably saw him too.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Okay, now what do they see? They saw a guy
- 11:21Speaker 2: with a mask. Let's say they saw a guy who
- 11:24Speaker 2: is stocky and they only saw his eyes. He had
- 11:27Speaker 2: a cap mask on and the only is his eyes.
- 11:30Speaker 2: That's hard to identify. Even if you can identify him
- 11:34Speaker 2: where there's no issue, the defense is pretty strong.
- 11:39Speaker 3: And do you have this all you have?
- 11:41Speaker 2: So I think it's going to be a tip that's
- 11:44Speaker 2: somehow going to connect him to this.
- 11:47Speaker 4: Please do the deal with Netflix. That is what Warner
- 11:50Speaker 4: Brothers Discovery is asking of its shareholders. It does not
- 11:55Speaker 4: want to do the deal, apparently with paramount Warner Brothers
- 11:59Speaker 4: Discovery is saying that Netflix is a better deal for shareholders,
- 12:02Speaker 4: also said it was a better deal for customers. The
- 12:05Speaker 4: decision ultimately rests with the shareholders. Some of them have
- 12:09Speaker 4: already said that they will reject the company's advice and
- 12:11Speaker 4: they want their shares to be sold to Pair.
- 12:15Speaker 3: This is the board.
- 12:16Speaker 2: The board recommended that the next Netflix deal goes through
- 12:20Speaker 2: Paramounts deal is not as good and it is who votes.
- 12:25Speaker 2: It's the number of shares that the shareholders that if
- 12:28Speaker 2: it votes a majority, then you know the sale goes
- 12:33Speaker 2: through to Netflix or to Paramount or doesn't go through
- 12:36Speaker 2: at all, probably going to be Netflix.
- 12:41Speaker 4: I think the president's chief of staff had a little
- 12:44Speaker 4: sit down with Vanity Fair. Apparently it was like eleven
- 12:47Speaker 4: different interviews. Now the articles are out, and well, the
- 12:52Speaker 4: White House isn't happy about it. The Susie Wilds is
- 12:54Speaker 4: the president's chief of staff. She criticized Attorney General Pam
- 12:59Speaker 4: Bondi for how she handled the Jeffrey Epstein case. Basically
- 13:03Speaker 4: said she whiffed it. I think for the words that
- 13:05Speaker 4: she said. She also described the president as someone who
- 13:09Speaker 4: has an alcoholics personality. If she says what she means
- 13:14Speaker 4: by that, is she doesn't think or he doesn't think,
- 13:17Speaker 4: there's anything he can't do, And the White House is
- 13:21Speaker 4: firing back saying a lot of this stuff was taken
- 13:23Speaker 4: out of context. I mean she obviously said it because
- 13:25Speaker 4: they recorded it, but while it.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Could be it could be taken out of context. Yeah,
- 13:30Speaker 2: I think the I think the comment on the President
- 13:33Speaker 2: is I think that the least it has a least
- 13:38Speaker 2: what's the word I'm looking for, has least a danger
- 13:41Speaker 2: to it, if you will.
- 13:42Speaker 4: I think he even came out and said.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Yeah, at least attack. First of all, he has the
- 13:46Speaker 2: personality of an alcoholic. He is not he doesn't touch alcohol,
- 13:51Speaker 2: and so it's what's the personality. I mean he described
- 13:54Speaker 2: it because some alcoholics do think they can do whatever.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Now, the Pam BONDI comment that she whiffed did that's.
- 14:01Speaker 2: A little hard, a little bit harder to uh, to
- 14:05Speaker 2: attack itself or to defend. And then my favorite one
- 14:10Speaker 2: is Jay d Vance that he is a conspiracy conspiracist
- 14:14Speaker 2: and he said, well, maybe I am a conspiracist, but
- 14:19Speaker 2: they're true.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Okay, what do you say?
- 14:24Speaker 2: In any case, I think the President was the least
- 14:27Speaker 2: damaged and the other ones were actually hit and Susie
- 14:30Speaker 2: Wilde is interesting lady. She does not she's behind the scenes,
- 14:33Speaker 2: behind the scenes. I don't know how she ever allowed
- 14:36Speaker 2: an interview with Vanity fair Well.
- 14:40Speaker 4: And she apparently did like eleven interviews. The White House
- 14:44Speaker 4: had her come to the White House and she did
- 14:46Speaker 4: like eleven different sitdowns, and that some of them were
- 14:48Speaker 4: up to an hour each. So it is really interesting
- 14:52Speaker 4: to hear. I would love to hear everything kind of
- 14:54Speaker 4: just played through to see if they really did take
- 14:56Speaker 4: it out of context.
- 14:57Speaker 2: And that's a there's probably a whole lot of language.
- 15:00Speaker 2: I'll bet you a lot of it was taken out
- 15:02Speaker 2: of context, because that's what these news media, the news
- 15:04Speaker 2: media does when they sit down for these.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Interview there is editing. You can't run.
- 15:08Speaker 2: How do you do an article of nineteen hours of interviews?
- 15:13Speaker 2: And when I was on sixty minutes and I was
- 15:16Speaker 2: on for three minutes, maybe they recorded two three hours
- 15:22Speaker 2: of conversation and they took two three minutes. Now I
- 15:26Speaker 2: was treated very well, thank goodness, But you can't have
- 15:30Speaker 2: attack pieces.
- 15:33Speaker 4: Trump has something to say, we just don't know what
- 15:35Speaker 4: it is. He's announced plans to hold a White House
- 15:40Speaker 4: address tonight. He posted on truth social saying, my fellow Americans,
- 15:46Speaker 4: I will be giving and address to the nation tomorrow night,
- 15:48Speaker 4: addressed to the nation, all in caps for whatever reason,
- 15:51Speaker 4: live from the White House, at nine pm Eastern Standard time.
- 15:54Speaker 4: I look forward to seeing you. Then, he says, it's
- 15:56Speaker 4: been a great year for our country and the best
- 15:59Speaker 4: is yet to come again in all caps.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Now, I have a question.
- 16:02Speaker 2: It doesn't matter politically where you sit, whether you're a
- 16:06Speaker 2: trumpet or an anti trumpist. No one is going to
- 16:09Speaker 2: argue that it's not going to be entertaining. There is
- 16:13Speaker 2: no issue. We're going to enjoy it enormously and no
- 16:17Speaker 2: doubt talk about it tomorrow, all right.
- 16:19Speaker 4: FIFA is making the World Cup more affordable for a
- 16:23Speaker 4: few anyway, So apparently there has been a huge uproar
- 16:27Speaker 4: because FIFA World Cup ticket prices have skyrocketed. So in
- 16:32Speaker 4: response to that backlash, FIFA says it's going to start
- 16:35Speaker 4: offering one thousand tickets per game. There'll be sixty dollars
- 16:41Speaker 4: each for supporters of the two participating teams.
- 16:45Speaker 3: What does that mean supporters?
- 16:47Speaker 4: I don't know. Does it mean you have to come
- 16:48Speaker 4: from that country or is it just.
- 16:50Speaker 3: I don't know. I have no idea.
- 16:51Speaker 2: I'm sure they defined it, but the sixty dollars tickets
- 16:54Speaker 2: is one point six percent of the number of people
- 16:58Speaker 2: that go to these places. You know, FIFA, to be
- 17:01Speaker 2: head of FIFA or on the board of FIFA is
- 17:04Speaker 2: one of the two great jobs on the planet, the
- 17:07Speaker 2: other one.
- 17:07Speaker 3: Being on the World Olympic Committee, on the International Olympic Committee.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Because as you go around the world and decide which
- 17:16Speaker 2: city is going to host the next in this case,
- 17:21Speaker 2: the CDs that are going to host the World Cup,
- 17:25Speaker 2: do you think that people who go to those countries
- 17:29Speaker 2: fly coach, I don't think so. I think they are
- 17:34Speaker 2: fetead like you cannot believe. And so FIFA, it's like
- 17:39Speaker 2: the super Bowl. You know, we talk about tickets available
- 17:43Speaker 2: to the Super Bowl. Either they're nine thousand dollars each
- 17:47Speaker 2: or you can buy them at face value, and they
- 17:49Speaker 2: sell three of those for the Super Bowl. So these
- 17:54Speaker 2: are sporting events that people are crazy. The answers don't
- 17:57Speaker 2: go to them, watch them on TV.
- 18:01Speaker 4: Time to sit and think at home. The second doctor
- 18:05Speaker 4: who played a role in providing ketamine to Matthew Perry
- 18:09Speaker 4: weeks before he overdosed his home in Pacific Palisades has
- 18:13Speaker 4: been sentenced to eight months of house arrest. He was
- 18:16Speaker 4: sentenced yesterday by federal judge. Mark Chavez is a former doctor.
- 18:20Speaker 4: He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute
- 18:24Speaker 4: ketamine last October. He also acknowledged that he and the
- 18:27Speaker 4: other doctor involved, salvad Or Placentia, colluded to deceive medical
- 18:33Speaker 4: ketamine suppliers and illegally distribute the drug to Perry for profit.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Now, the question is and the short and the court
- 18:42Speaker 2: wrote about this, both of them were guilty of sin.
- 18:47Speaker 2: The difference is one cooperated, one did not, and you've
- 18:51Speaker 2: gotten the doctor Mark Chavez immediately gave up his license
- 18:57Speaker 2: and immediately pled guilty and immediately said Miakolpa.
- 19:02Speaker 3: And doctor Placentia not so much.
- 19:04Speaker 2: So.
- 19:05Speaker 3: I don't think he flipped. He just said, okay, okay,
- 19:08Speaker 3: sorry about that.
- 19:09Speaker 2: I'll give up my license. And that's exactly what they
- 19:11Speaker 2: were moving for.
- 19:14Speaker 4: Target and Walmart getting a good scolding. The US FDA
- 19:18Speaker 4: has sent warning letters stern warning letters to Walmart, Target
- 19:22Speaker 4: and other retail giants after its investigations found that they
- 19:25Speaker 4: have still been selling the baby formula that's been recalled.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:32Speaker 4: They also warned Kroger and Albertson's about their continued sales
- 19:35Speaker 4: of Buy Heart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula, which has been
- 19:38Speaker 4: linked to at least fifty one cases of suspected or
- 19:41Speaker 4: confirmed infant botulism in nineteen States.
- 19:45Speaker 3: Yeah, really, really tough.
- 19:47Speaker 2: It was a lot of heart issues with those kids,
- 19:50Speaker 2: which is why they changed the name of the company
- 19:52Speaker 2: from buy Heart to No Heart Whole Nutrition Instant Formula.
- 20:00Speaker 2: I know, I know kids, I know infants getting Batchelism
- 20:04Speaker 2: is not that funny.
- 20:06Speaker 3: I think it is, But then you know, I live
- 20:08Speaker 3: in a different world than a lot of people do.
- 20:12Speaker 4: Not a Nobody Anymore, a posthumous memoir by one of
- 20:16Speaker 4: Jeffrey Epstein's best known accusers, Virginia Geffrey, has sold a
- 20:21Speaker 4: million copies worldwide in the last two months. The book
- 20:25Speaker 4: is now in its tenth printing after an initial run
- 20:28Speaker 4: of just seventy thousand copies. It's called Nobody's Girl. Jeffrey
- 20:32Speaker 4: died by suicide back in April. She was forty one.
- 20:37Speaker 3: That book is on my coffee table.
- 20:39Speaker 4: Have you read it yet?
- 20:41Speaker 3: No? And I didn't buy it either.
- 20:43Speaker 4: As Lindsay read it yet, I don't know if.
- 20:46Speaker 3: She did or not.
- 20:47Speaker 2: I mean originally, I mean she is accused Jeffrey Goofrey
- 20:54Speaker 2: I pronounced names is accused of having sex with a
- 20:57Speaker 2: lot of people and she admits, which is why. Originally
- 21:01Speaker 2: she was going to title the book Everybody's Girl, but
- 21:04Speaker 2: it didn't work out that way. Okay, another one. Uh yeah,
- 21:10Speaker 2: we're on a roll anyway, Amy Maui News.
- 21:17Speaker 4: Yes, there's an airbnb ban in Paradise. Mayor of Maui
- 21:23Speaker 4: Richard Bison Bisson has signed a version of a bill
- 21:27Speaker 4: into law that we'll phase out seven thousand short term
- 21:31Speaker 4: vacation rentals. The bill was originally proposed a while ago.
- 21:36Speaker 4: It took about nineteen months to get the final version,
- 21:38Speaker 4: but the amended version requires apartment zoned short term rental
- 21:42Speaker 4: units to be phased out by January first, twenty twenty
- 21:46Speaker 4: nine in West Maui and January first, twenty thirty one
- 21:50Speaker 4: for the rest of the county, most of which is
- 21:53Speaker 4: in South Maui.
- 21:54Speaker 3: Yeah, Baye Maui isn't alone.
- 21:56Speaker 2: There are a lot of municipalities that are either kirk
- 22:00Speaker 2: or just stopping short term rentals because it takes it
- 22:04Speaker 2: takes housing out of the market. It just increases housing
- 22:08Speaker 2: tremendously and the landlord just make a pile of money.
- 22:12Speaker 2: I mean, these short term rentals go for hundreds of
- 22:15Speaker 2: dollars a night.
- 22:17Speaker 4: And it also affects the hotels, doesn't it?
- 22:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I would imagine it sure does.
- 22:24Speaker 4: TikTok trick gets tripped up, so car makers Hyundai and
- 22:28Speaker 4: Kia have to offer free repairs to millions of models
- 22:33Speaker 4: of their cars under a settlement was announced yesterday by
- 22:36Speaker 4: Minnesota's attorney general, who led the effort by dozens of states,
- 22:40Speaker 4: including California that they argued that the vehicles were not
- 22:44Speaker 4: equipped with the proper anti theft technology and it all
- 22:48Speaker 4: stems from the thefts of Hyundai's and Kia's soaring because
- 22:54Speaker 4: starting in twenty twenty one, video is posted on TikTok
- 22:57Speaker 4: and other social media demonstrated how someone could steal those
- 23:00Speaker 4: cars with just a screwdriver and a USB cable.
- 23:03Speaker 2: When is the last time you heard on a recall
- 23:06Speaker 2: that wasn't paid for by the manufacturer?
- 23:10Speaker 4: I think they all are right, correct?
- 23:12Speaker 2: Is it?
- 23:13Speaker 4: Maybe Takata was Takana.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Pay back toa I know, even Takata has to when
- 23:17Speaker 2: they do the airbags. I know, And the settlement also
- 23:22Speaker 2: calls for those bumper stickers that say steal this car
- 23:26Speaker 2: to be removed.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Blocked. President Trump has ordered a total and complete blockade
- 23:33Speaker 4: of all sanctioned oil tankers entering and leaving Venezuela. This
- 23:38Speaker 4: is rampan up pressure on the country's authoritarian leader, Nicholas Maduro.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Last week, US forces seized that oil tanker. It had
- 23:45Speaker 4: about two million gallons of oil on it. Apparently, the
- 23:48Speaker 4: Venezuelan government has accused the US of blatant theft and
- 23:52Speaker 4: said the seizure was an act of international piracy. But
- 23:56Speaker 4: Trump says that Venezuela was using the oil to fund
- 24:00Speaker 4: rug trafficking and other crimes, and says we'll escalate the
- 24:04Speaker 4: military build up. And there's a lot of ships out
- 24:06Speaker 4: in the Caribbean now US.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Shaw and whether whether it funds drug trafficking or not,
- 24:13Speaker 2: these are sanctioned.
- 24:14Speaker 3: This is sanctioned oil.
- 24:16Speaker 2: This is in violation of the sanctions that are up
- 24:19Speaker 2: there and the you know, I think the United Nations
- 24:22Speaker 2: also was part of the decision to sanction. So, you know,
- 24:27Speaker 2: Maduro can babble all he wants, but and Trump, and
- 24:31Speaker 2: this has been going on for years and years under Biden,
- 24:33Speaker 2: under Obama, and Trump is the only one that has
- 24:35Speaker 2: the balls to actually do this. So I'm going to
- 24:38Speaker 2: give him credit on that one. Good for him.
- 24:40Speaker 3: I'm wondering, what, No, that's fine.
- 24:44Speaker 4: I was going to say. I'm wondering if the White
- 24:46Speaker 4: House Address is going to deal with this. He says,
- 24:48Speaker 4: it's about that after a year in office. The country
- 24:51Speaker 4: is great and it's going to be greater.
- 24:52Speaker 3: But I wonder I think it will.
- 24:54Speaker 2: I think it's going to go down through Look what
- 24:56Speaker 2: I have done to bring America back to its greatness.
- 25:00Speaker 3: You'll hear a lot of that.
- 25:01Speaker 2: And I think you'll hear prices have been lowered, the
- 25:04Speaker 2: economy is exploding, the number of jobs have increased by
- 25:09Speaker 2: the millions. I think you're going to hear a lot
- 25:12Speaker 2: of that, a lot of self serving, self aggrandizing, because
- 25:16Speaker 2: he never does that. So he's going to go off
- 25:19Speaker 2: script on this one.
- 25:21Speaker 4: He says, people love it when he goes off script.
- 25:24Speaker 3: Yeah, did you hear that.
- 25:25Speaker 4: I'm not even using my teleprompter and people.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Yeah, and his advisors are reeling.
- 25:31Speaker 3: They put their hands.
- 25:33Speaker 2: On their face, they put both palms their faces and
- 25:36Speaker 2: shake their heads.
- 25:38Speaker 4: We've got a record breaker near lax and Amazon warehouse
- 25:42Speaker 4: near the gates of Los Angeles International Airport has sold
- 25:46Speaker 4: for a record price, apparently because logistics centers near transportation
- 25:51Speaker 4: hubs are in big demand. Let's see Morgan Stanley recently
- 25:57Speaker 4: paid two hundred eleven million dollars for the distribution center,
- 26:00Speaker 4: the biggest industrial real estate deal in Greater Los Angeles
- 26:04Speaker 4: this year.
- 26:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it's having more and more impact. Why because it's
- 26:10Speaker 2: Internet sales, that's the bottom line. And of course the
- 26:13Speaker 2: Amazon is growing and pretty dramatically. All right, I think
- 26:16Speaker 2: we can do one more.
- 26:18Speaker 4: All right, Stern sticking around on Sirious Hower. Stern will
- 26:23Speaker 4: rain for three more years at Serious he'll be reigning
- 26:26Speaker 4: because he's a self proclaimed king of all media.
- 26:29Speaker 3: Pretty close.
- 26:30Speaker 4: Yeah, new three year deal after lengthy negotiations. Says he's
- 26:35Speaker 4: happy to announce that he's figured a way to have
- 26:38Speaker 4: it all more free time and continuing to be on
- 26:41Speaker 4: the radio.
- 26:42Speaker 2: And now he is getting one hundred million dollars a year.
- 26:46Speaker 2: There aren't too many people in the media that make
- 26:48Speaker 2: that much money.
- 26:49Speaker 3: Wow, and Serious.
- 26:52Speaker 2: You know, when he was syndicated and made buckets of money,
- 26:55Speaker 2: he was only on I think sixty stations and it
- 27:00Speaker 2: was just an enormous amount of money.
- 27:02Speaker 3: Do you know that handle on the law.
- 27:03Speaker 2: I'm going to brag here. I'm on three hundred n
- 27:07Speaker 2: eighty stations around the country.
- 27:08Speaker 4: My mommy listens to you.
- 27:09Speaker 3: That's that's sweet.
- 27:12Speaker 2: And of those three hundred and eighty stations, the vast,
- 27:16Speaker 2: vast majority are in towns that the entire population of
- 27:20Speaker 2: the town much less listeners, is fewer than the staff
- 27:25Speaker 2: here a KFI. I cannot tell you how many of
- 27:30Speaker 2: those stations are in towns. They have twenty or fewer
- 27:33Speaker 2: people living in the town. And Howard Stern has the
- 27:37Speaker 2: big stations. If you have the number one station in
- 27:40Speaker 2: about ten markets, you're reaching ninety five percent of the country.
- 27:45Speaker 2: If you have the only talk show in you know,
- 27:50Speaker 2: Buffalo as Wyoming, just it doesn't really work very well.
- 27:55Speaker 4: Do you know, Beside from Los Angeles, what's what's.
- 27:58Speaker 2: My other really big one? My other big one is Atlanta.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Those are my two big big stations. The rest of
- 28:04Speaker 2: them are just just ridiculous. You can look at an
- 28:09Speaker 2: affiliate list and it is it's hugely entertaining on the show.
- 28:15Speaker 2: All right, Okay, I'm not gonna brag because it's actually embarrassing.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Oh okay, we are done, guys with the news. We
- 28:22Speaker 2: have the fifteen stories good for us. This is KFI
- 28:26Speaker 2: AM six four.
- 28:27Speaker 3: A F five. You've been listening to the Bill Handle Show.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Catch my Show Monday through Friday six am to nine am,
- 28:35Speaker 2: and anytime on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
