[upbeat music] All right, all right. Welcome,
• 0:15
everyone, to The Big Shoe. Yeah, we can make noises now. Yeah. Yeah. Ding, ding, ding. [laughs] It's the, it's the full spectrum cycling podcast goodness.
• 0:27
That's what Tony named the show notes lo these several years back. Yeah. In perpetuity. I'm waiting until we actually... It's 179 today, by the way. Till we actually use up all of the- Document storage...
• 0:40
you can, there's, you can only have, like, 300,000 words or letters We're, we're probably getting close We're, I think we're halfway there. I was gonna- Livin' on a prayer Oh. So yeah, so I don't know.
• 0:52
Maybe we won't make it, maybe we will. Speaking of a halfway there, that would be next week, 'cause that's a full 180, man. Right? And that's half of a full circle.
• 0:59
It got me to thinking about Skate or Die, but that's just, that was kind of a lame move in Skate or Die. Well, um- It's just the 180... I mean, if we have to, I mean, well, good Lord, um, my favorite arcade game was 720.
• 1:12
That's where it was skate or die. Right. And then the bees came after you- Yeah... and you had to get to the right part. That's why I always called it Skate or Die, 'cause- Yeah... telling it 720 was like, whatever.
• 1:20
Well, that's what it was called. All right, okay. And I was looking for it, and the Classic Slice on North Avenue had it for a little while. What about, what about the place out in Stalis?
• 1:29
They got that, uh, what's it called? There's a big... It's in the old Alice Chalmers complex. Yeah. Yeah, old Arcade. It, it, yeah, it's got, like- Garagecade or something like that...
• 1:38
stuff on the bottom and arcade games on top, lots of them. Dave & Buster's. I think, I think that particular arcade game- It's not Dave & Buster's but yeah. [laughs]... is, is high maintenance. Hmm?
• 1:46
I think that particular arcade game is high maintenance. Oh, yeah, yeah. Crank, crank, crank, crank. I used to work in an Aladdin's Castle- Oh, yeah... and it was out of order quite a bit.
• 1:55
[laughs] I still- I still have tokens for Aladdin's Castle. I do too. I do too. [laughs] Yeah. [laughs] That was what we had. We had them in Californ-I-A when I was growing up.
• 2:03
They were, they were nat- they were worldwid- or nationwide, for sure. Little Defender. Mm-hmm. Little Tempest here and there. Mm-hmm. You get Stargate, which was the sequel- I could do Asteroids the entire time...
• 2:12
for the Spy Hunter, baby. Spy Hunter. Spy Hunter. I could never, I could never lose at Asteroids. Rolling Thunder. Rolling Thunder was an underappreciated video game.
• 2:19
Well, you guys are, like, a little bit younger than I am- Well... so I got there when the, all the early Vector games were out. Yeah, I suppose. I was pinned on that. But, uh, oh, yeah, Tempest. Brr. Wing, swing, spank.
• 2:30
Yeah. Hey, Tempest was great. [mimicking shooting] I want... We do need some arcade games out in the- The tabletop ones that were at the old Pizza Hut... in the common area, as we call it out there. You mean
• 2:40
where the bike shop will be? No. 'Cause this is a podcast that's sort of about bikes. Well, where the- Well, I rode my bike- This is the common area of the bike shop/building. There we go. Now we're talking about bikes.
• 2:49
I rode, I rode my, uh, oh, what was it? It was a Diamondback Silver Streak II the wall. Aladdin's Castle. And it was- So I was- There we go... my brother's, oh, I have one more, sorry. I rode my brother's Traveler III
• 3:04
and parked it in the bushes, and it got stolen. Well, that's what happens. It was an 18-speed. To Aladdin's Castle? At, to, I was going to Aladdin's Castle on a front tire. Where was that?
• 3:10
I don't even, I didn't even know where it was in Milwaukee, but- I was in Oshkosh. There was a couple. Oh, you were in Oshkosh, by gosh. There was a Brookfield Square one. There was Spring Mall.
• 3:18
Oh, yeah, you were a- There was-... you were a West Side guy, huh? Uh-huh. I was a Fun Land/King Q guy. Well, I was in between. I was a, I was a southwest side-ed.
• 3:24
The one out by, like, Franklin-y area was its own self-contained building, and I'd never seen one like that. Spring Mall on- Is that where it was? Okay... 76 and Cold Spring. Yeah. That was like, wait- The building...
• 3:34
it's its own building? Yeah. The building, I think, is still there. It's still- It's just repurposed as- There's something... it's like a Ross Beauty for Less or something like that. Right. Yeah.
• 3:44
Oh, I'm sorry for the product placement for Ross- I learned, I learned very quickly-... or Ulta. [laughs] Um, I learned very quickly if I had to open the arcade in the morning to not drink the night before. Ah.
• 3:57
Because you throw both main breakers, and it goes through a full test on every machine, and you do not want that hungover. [laughs] You can't shut the door. I mean, it will not... The whole place is just, it's,
• 4:11
  it's rough. I don't know, man.
• 4:12
The great thing about Fun Land on the east side of Milwaukee was that not only was it an arcade, and of course King Q right next door with, with the billiards and the pool and the nine ball and all that, it was also a BMX shop.
• 4:24
Mm. So you got the bonus of- Oh... BMX stuff, too. Wow. With, uh, Meteo and Aaron Gilmour and all the guys. How, how come there aren't more, like- Right by Kamikaze... mixed use stores? Like- Yeah...
• 4:36
when I was in North Carolina, wait, Virginia Beach, sorry. Yeah. There was a bar restaurant/laundromat. Mm-hmm. It, it was just like a sandwich shop/bar/sla- Yep...
• 4:48
so you would do your laundry and it's kinda like Axle's, but you s- didn't even have to go outside. Yeah, when I- Like, how come we don't have shit like that?
• 4:54
When I used to be on the road as a rep for, uh, wholesale bike parts to bike shops, there was a place in Champaign-Urbana called Suds and Duds. Mm-hmm. So I'd take my bag of g-
• 5:05
This- I'd take my bag of clothes and wash it and drink beer on my overnight in- This was Suds-... Champaign-Urbana... You're, You Are Duds. Oh, I'm a dud. I mean, I'm like, "Whoa."
• 5:15
They, they had one on, uh, Highway 100 in Cleveland for a little bit. Hmm. It was like fun- I mean, it kinda makes sense...
• 5:21
like, it was like Suds and Duds, and then, or called like, and then it had something like Fun Laundry. [laughs] It, yeah. Fun Laundry. [laughs] I mean, it kinda makes sense.
• 5:26
No, it was called Fun Laundry, and I was like, "What the shit are you ta-," and I'm like, "Dude, there's a goddamn bar." Who wants to do laundry sober? Right. All right. And you can have a grilled cheese.
• 5:34
Hey, guess what? Oh, really? I'm push- I'm pushing the button already. Do it. Hey, welcome to the radio program. Jesus H., that was loud. Caller. Who do we have on the line? That was lo- What? That was loud. Stop that.
• 5:45
Well, what- I can't hear now. What's going on? The beep was, that beep was incredibly loud, like twice as loud as the rest of the podcast. Oh, is that, oh, that's when you, is that when you get on the show?
• 5:56
It's like, "It's your turn now, beep. Wake up." Yeah. "You're, you're sleeping in your chair." Yeah. "It's time to go now." Yes, you're, you're, you're landing on the moon. Beep. Ding. [laughs] I don't know.
• 6:05
It's- I, I have no more- We have no control over our software I'm not of loud noises yet. Oh. Oh, yeah. Hey. Hey, everybody. It's Chewy. He, he just is still probably recovering from Single Speed USA, I would imagine.
• 6:21
I'm seriously having my first beer since Monday morning. Whoa. [laughs] Well, morning beers are a sign of a good weekend normally, I would think. Oh, I know. It was, yeah, it was, it was needed.
• 6:33
There was a lot of, a lot of people stopped by on their way out of town, so, uh, the first group we didn't have any beers. The second group we didn't have any beers. And then Colin stopped by. Colin Ford. Air Ford.
• 6:44
So there was... Yeah, and then, and, and then there was beer then. Excellent.
• 6:49
So what's your, uh, your ini- I know you guys are gonna do a, a, a big podcast on this, you and Spinner and associated other, uh, brethren, but what's your initial impression of the weekend?
• 7:01
Um, I think it was a complete success. Um, you know, we had a tad bit of rain. Um, talking about serious stuff, um, we had rain, and so much shit has been canceled lately because of rain.
• 7:13
Um, I think we proved that we don't have to be so finicky with our trails. You know, it's been a really wet summer for the Decorah area, and- Mm-hmm... people that lived on there cut at least...
• 7:24
Well, shit, we went out and cut trees out on Thursday. So we cut at least, let's say, 40 trees out- Wow... just to get ready for this race that are, that are laying on the trails. They, nobody could use the trails.
• 7:35
So take that into consideration. We ran a race on there that everybody would say, "Oh, God, Snuffer trails, we gotta go working on 'em." By the second lap, everybody, it had gotten tacky,
• 7:47
and it was nice and greasy and made people pay attention the first lap. And then the second lap it was dried out decent enough that the fast guys were going really fast. And that's- Nice...
• 7:57
and that's how we built those trails, and that we should be able to use them and not cancel races because of a little bit of rain. Yeah. We shouldn't- That's awesome...
• 8:04
we shouldn't cancel riding on those trails because of a little bit of rain. Right. It's, it's become a, uh, do I dare say, it's become an in thing to fucking cancel use of trails.
• 8:15
They're open, they're closed, they're open, they're closed. Yeah, we get that around here with, um, Minooka gets that a lot- Yeah... just because it's the most used trail because it's closest to Metro Milwaukee.
• 8:27
And there's people that piss and moan about it, but, you know, the, that particular trail, I don't, there's parts of it you wouldn't want to use when it's super wet.
• 8:36
It's benched in and it's nicely done, but it's just, there's... I don't know. It- So but, but wait. Chewy, you didn't tell us what beer you're opening. Wait, what? Wait, what? All right. What?
• 8:50
He said he was gonna open a beer. Oh, it's already Top of the Hill. Yeah. I don't know. He didn't tell us what. He said beer and blah, blah, blah. I just hit it. I did.
• 8:57
I've been laying at the Top of the Hill waiting for you clowns. [laughs] JK. What? Oh. Get, get, get the, uh, get the stuff out. So Chewy, what do you got? Top of the Hill beer. I'm just having PBR. Eh.
• 9:09
I, uh, I, that, that's all I can do. We have the alternate. After all the freaking crap. The, the precursor beer was Hamm's. Was Hamm's. That's because, you know- Hamms... it's either Hamm's or Pabst.
• 9:19
And I think I mentioned this on the show last week, 30-packs of Hamm's are 14 bucks, so. And 12-packs are 6.88. Sorry. And was it- [laughs]
• 9:28
Was it Tony or JP that said that I agree that they're made in the same place, and then I heard somebody tell me this this weekend that's also from Milwaukee that said it's the same recipe. They don't taste the same.
• 9:41
They don't. Well, okay. I agree. So, so here's what I've got out of that deal is while the recipe is the same, the process to brew it is different. So they may start out with the same- Ah, okay...
• 9:54
the same raw ingredients and the same whatever, whatever, but then maybe they do s- something different in the process- Longer... with one or the other. Longer standard boil, maybe- Yeah...
• 10:02
a hot boil at the end that's a little shorter. Yeah, possibly, because I'll tell you what- Yeah, sure... I'm more of a Hamm's fan than a Pabst fan. Every, I, you know, I agree with- Are you really? Yeah. Mm-hmm.
• 10:10
I can totally agree with that. Yep. Yep. Because it is the beer refreshing. I, Hamm's, the beer refreshing. This was just c- this just came out this weekend.
• 10:18
I, my godfather was a Pabst rep, so I was born and raised on Pabst. Right. Until I was in junior high school and I started dating- [laughs] Junior high school... Pabst reps and, and so I switched beers.
• 10:32
[laughs] In junior high school I had to switch to Hamm's. I was... [laughs] Well, I had to. Nice. For, for a couple months anyway. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Right on. Was she hot? So, so your, your dad, your dad was a Pabst rep?
• 10:44
No, his uncle. Oh, your uncle. Okay. No, my godfather. Oh, God. Yeah. Yeah, so, so, so it was, uh...
• 10:50
And in fact, when he passed away, we went to his house and he had, back then you could still have like Pabst paraphernalia, like the signs and all that shit and still give it away, um, there's a law in Minnesota you can't do that anymore.
• 11:01
So, um, I have, I have, he had my Pabst Blue Ribbon shirt from when I was 13 and hauled beer for him in the summer. Nice. Now, I don't quite fit in it. [laughs] One of my, one of my grandkids maybe has it.
• 11:15
[laughs] Excellent. Yeah. It's cool. I remember the old, uh- So, yeah... I remember the old Hamm's sign with the, the water flowing. It was just some light show thing, but it was- Oh, yeah...
• 11:26
like the river because it's, you know, from the land of- Yep... sky blue waters. Waters. Waters. Waters. I think, I think one of my kids has that.
• 11:36
Probably Jack Casey, 'cause he's, he's into that old stuff like that, whether it's beer or anything. He's, he's kind of the old soul and collects all kinds of cool old shit. So he's probably got one of those.
• 11:46
Hey, speaking of cool old shit- Well, wait... guess, guess, guess what showed up in the shop today? A, a couple of, uh- What?... old metal, um, traffic signals. The red, you know, red, orange, green- Traffic lights...
• 11:57
metal eagle traffic lights. [laughs] Just showed up. What? They just showed up at the shop magically today. I don't know how they got here. [laughs] So awesome. Yeah, get them to the hot rod show and sell those things.
• 12:11
Oh, you, no, uh, I can come pick him up. See me and I'll have my kids sell him some, because he, he's into that kind of stuff. Like, he's, like, the, I don't know what it is. He's got... He does weird stuff.
• 12:21
Like, he buys, um... It's, it's a, it's a group of guys that collect, they call it oddities, like old, um, medicine or old doctor's utensils.
• 12:32
And, and along with it you're gonna get, like, a shrunken head in a fucking jar and shit. [laughs] Some of those- Somebody's cut-off penis in a jar... some of those odd shit he's got. Yeah.
• 12:40
Yeah, little bit of formaldehyde up in there. So here's the deal about these though. Yeah, exactly.
• 12:44
If he, if, if he can really do something with them, I, uh, it's, I don't have an unlimited supply of them, but I have a pretty nonstop supply, at least for some period of time, if we can send him a pallet and make an offer on some of these things, for crying out loud.
• 12:58
How many did you get? Oh, we'll, we'll get a bunch. I know a- Oh, cool. Put it this, put it this way, Chewy. I'll, I'll take the research one. Put it this way. We can do some research. I know a guy.
• 13:07
[laughs] You know a guy. Send me a pic- I will... send me a picture so I can give it to him and get him started. Yeah, there's two of them right now- I'm, I'm gonna print this...
• 13:15
that, that are, um, the one's an Eagle- Oh, Jesus... and one's, one's one that was made in New York. They're all metal. These are not the plastic crappy ones. They have been retrofitted with the LED bulbs. Sure.
• 13:24
They don't have the original nice glass reflector with the incandescent in there, but they're, they're the, they're the real deal. They've been sitting over some city not too far from us for 50 years, you know.
• 13:35
That's cool. Right on. And they're all ready to go. That's, that's, that's even cooler, yeah. They're, yeah, they're wired for 110, so- Yeah. Yeah. Of course...
• 13:41
and you can switch the jumper in 'em to do whatever you want with it. There's no sequencer in 'em, but you can get those pretty cheap, so. So anybody wants a traffic signal, [laughs] let me know. [laughs] But anyway.
• 13:54
And, and welcome to Tradie. Right. Welcome to Tradio. [laughs] Tradio. Oh, is there, if there- Patents that, man... wait a second. Is there not- Copyright that. All right.
• 14:03
I'm gonna divergent 'cause that's a good word, Tradio. But let me tell you about one- [laughs]... that we coined, uh, just the other day. It's, it's, uh, uh, I don't even know if we can say this on the radio. Ploob.
• 14:17
Ploob? [laughs] I can't, I can't do it. I can't. I don't wanna know what this is. Yes. Well, it's just somebody said poop is lube. You have to now. [laughs] What? Was it- From this point-... fucking Lunds? Poop is lube.
• 14:30
Poop is lube. It was Lunds. It's just ploop. It was Lunds. I came, I came up with ploop. Oh. Well, it wasn't- Well, you were thinking of Lunds... it wasn't Lunds though, but- That's fucking disgusting...
• 14:37
I just came up with the word ploop. I didn't come up with the idea of poop is lube, but. Oh, ploop. I thought you said cloob, ploop. Ploob. P-L-U-B-E. Okay, gotcha. Yeah. P-L-O-O-B or 'cause you gotta have the poop in.
• 14:46
I don't know. Whatever. Oh. Anyway- Oh, yeah. Hey, let's get back on track- Yeah, yeah. We'll be back... with Chewy and his Single Speed- Speed... USA report. [laughs] As we add Lunds ass slide down the, you know, his...
• 15:02
[laughs] So let's see. Um, the weather was good. The band was fantastic. Of course, it was, uh, uh, DNF out of the cities with, uh, with, uh, Hollywood and, uh, his crew. Uh, they were fantastic.
• 15:15
Um, I know for a fact, and like more, we, we got more information to pick up and stuff, but the two things that really came out of the Nordic Coast was we dragged Sav back into the world of bicycling. Ah.
• 15:27
I saw him playing the banjo, so does that count? Yes. Yeah, he was up on the station. He was out the night before. He was at the bar with us twice.
• 15:36
Like, that's more times than he's been at the bar since he's moved down there, I think. Wow. So it was, uh, it was a coup for us. Um- Yeah. Tops in Glasses was a fantastic sponsor.
• 15:45
Not only here to brag about Top of the Glass with him as a sponsor, but that's a lot of fucking beer- Mm-hmm... for people to be riding bikes and drinking in the wood, and we did a wonderful job on it. Nice.
• 15:54
Um, and then the big- and the cooler thing is is, uh, the town of Decorah loved us.
• 16:00
You know, it's, it's kind of funny about this 'cause it's been gone for a few years and, and the last week, like, man, if you think about the one we did in, uh, Austin, Texas, it was way out in the middle of nowhere, and not everybody went to the bar that night, so it wasn't as crazy as some of them have gotten.
• 16:15
But, um, there was 175 bicycles riding around town all weekend. Wow. That's fantastic.
• 16:22
From, let's say Thursday, from, from Thursday until Monday, Monday morning, let's say, 'cause there's some guys who had a coffee and breakfast Monday morning, but, um, and, you know, and it was... And
• 16:33
one of the bars told me they did more business on Friday and Saturday nights than they did all of Nordic Fest. Wow. Wow. And I was- That's impressive...
• 16:40
I was at those bars for, no, I was, I was at those bars at Nordic Fest, and it was wall-to-wall people. Gotta do, like, an- So-...
• 16:46
gotta do, like, an economic impact, uh, version of, whoa, how much we, how much was spent by the people here on- The weekend, yeah... you know, the, the staying, the beer- There was, however-...
• 16:55
and the gas they buy and the, the food they eat and the- I, I, yeah, you know, going out to eat all the time, you know, like, uh, you know, it w- it was fun because all the regulars were there.
• 17:04
DJ Jake, um, Dave Butler, uh, Sammy, that, that crew that I've always traveled to, Single Speed USA and Single Speed Worlds, they were all there. Um, hamster.
• 17:16
Um, they, but it was the usual crew, and those guys make a, those guys, DJ's, I don't wanna say he's grown up. Um, but he's- Growing old? He's, he's, he's less firecrackery. [laughs] I don't know how else to put it.
• 17:30
He, um, uh, was... And he's got a kid. Maybe that's why. I don't know. He, he tries to be responsible. But, you know, he did a really good job.
• 17:39
So if you go to Single Speed USA's webs- or Facebook page, he did the collage of pictures that are out there, and there's a shitload of pictures, and they're really good.
• 17:47
Um, I think Hollywood's got a bunch on their, on their page. The, the picture taking was fantastic. I think, um, uh, Keen Overfilled was telling he's gonna do an article for a magazine. Uh,
• 18:02
someone else was gonna do an article, I think. I already read, uh, a preview- Was there a vulture? There was a- Yeah, he's being attacked by a vulture or something. I hear a "Caw, caw" in the background there, baby.
• 18:12
[laughs] It's a- Um, and y- and you know what?
• 18:14
And this is, this is really hard for me to say- Gomez wrote, had a really nice writeup for us too Yeah, I just, I was gonna mention that Gomez had one of the first stories- Yeah... out there about...
• 18:24
What I kinda liked about- Yeah, yeah... his story was that, um, he didn't go there to do it as a reporter for a big time fat bike website. He went there to do it- Mm-hmm...
• 18:35
as a guy riding his bike, and that's, kinda came across in the article I thought. That's pretty awesome. Yeah. I'll check that out. And, and, and, and, and that, and from what I saw- It's official though...
• 18:43
because, and I saw him a lot, uh, that's exactly what he was doing. He was just riding around talking to people.
• 18:46
It's, it's a little bit different, but it's almost like when I first met him in Colorado the first time, and that's kinda how he was out there. And it, and it just seemed like the same thing.
• 18:54
I thought he did an excellent job and, you know, so that was, that was kinda cool. Well, you know- Um. Okay, so here's the thing.
• 19:00
I mean, it- Maybe with, along with losing all the weight he lost, his head shrunk just a little bit. Maybe. [laughs] I think, I think- Oh, gee, is there some like weird Grinch parallel going on here?
• 19:12
His head definitely looks bigger, right, yeah. [laughs] Yeah, it's kinda, it's, it's, yeah. Yeah, and I, I was glad- I, I was, I was glad to read it...
• 19:19
you know- I was happy to see that he was happy, and I, you know, whatever... I think he had a good time too.
• 19:24
You know, last time I saw him on a ride, like similar to this, like eight or nine type ride, he didn't seem like he was having fun. So I think he's having a good time, so I'm really glad of that.
• 19:33
Um, it's gonna be in Kansas City next year. This is a good thing. Uh, well. Maybe my daughter won't be moving that weekend again. Oh, Kansas City, Kansas or Kansas City, Missouri? Missouri. We- Missouri.
• 19:45
Listen, listen, this was, there is a very long story about this. [dog barking] Way too long. Get that bird, doggy. And, uh, sorry about that. Keep going. We've got a neighbor dog, we'll get this going.
• 19:57
Is that the, is that the other caller with the dog? So, so, [laughs] yeah. So we're gonna go, it's gonna be in Kansas City next year. Um, I think they specified Missouri. We're not positive yet.
• 20:11
Oh, well that's, that, that's an interesting distinction. I'm, I, well, well, no, I'm pretty sure it's Missouri, but we're, that doesn't mean that we're gonna let them know that we know that that's where we're going.
• 20:21
[laughs] Well, Burn- Maybe, maybe we can have more fun... Burnsie's not there anymore. D- is he, well, he's gotta be part of that though still, right? The Single Speed Pirate crew. I, I kinda, yeah, I think he is.
• 20:32
At, just the way they were talking, yeah, he is. Um, he was like a last minute no-show, as were some other people. Yeah, well, like Dirty. Um. Dirty was a distinct, besides me, no-show, Gre- uh, Sten.
• 20:43
[laughs] But, uh, but, but Dirty, but Dirty didn't show either, did he? Uh, no, he wound up doing, helping out at some kids thing, so I'll have to give him a pass.
• 20:53
I'd like to give him shit about it, but if he's helping out a kids event, I'm not gonna give him any crap about that. Yeah, that's cool. Right, right. Yep, yep. But he's getting responsible too- Yeah...
• 21:01
for crying out loud. I got, I... Everybody's responsible now. Yeah. No, I think he's- What's going on with this? Yeah.
• 21:05
I'm pretty sure he, I'm pretty sure he just used that excuse not to come, but, you know, it's okay, give him any shit about it.
• 21:11
I mean, he said, I mean, he said he did, did something for little ladies on tricycles, and I'd have kicked his ass, but, you know.
• 21:17
[laughs] Well, you know, when, when we had him out at, uh, Interbike, we had to pay him to be there, so maybe he needs an appearance fee. Mm-hmm. No. That's never gonna fucking happen.
• 21:29
[laughs] He's a, he gets his, he gets his- Come play, coming out playing... weekly Europe, but. Da, da, da, da. Get the cape. Oh, no. Oh, yeah. Oh, oh. Oh, no, I can make it. I can make it.
• 21:38
I'm gonna need like $28 to show up. Thanks. Yeah. Yeah, it's gonna be good. Gas money.
• 21:42
Although, although if we were, if we did it like say over by Rushford or Waynesboro, which is a shitload of rattlesnake, I would pay him to come and do it, 'cause that dude's good with a rattlesnake.
• 21:51
I watched him in, I watched him at 24 hours of Ol' Pal Pueblo, and he was kinda like the rattlesnake herder for the, for the race, and he's good. So- Wow... I would pay him for that.
• 21:59
So do you think he could tell the difference between like a corn snake or a king snake and a rattlesnake? 'Cause I know a guy that can't, and he blasted one with a.357. I'm like, "That wasn't a rattlesnake, dude."
• 22:10
[laughs] That's, um, personally- Like, it looked like one... a rattlesnake and don't get me... A little bit of a rattlesnake, it's just not- He can just go, "And mother crawling king snake." [sighs] Hmm.
• 22:21
South Dakota, though, they blast everything over there. Yeah. So yeah, so, so, uh, sup- and supposedly there was negotiations that went on, and so 2024 it'll be in New England someplace. Yeah.
• 22:39
When- Yeah. It's already been determined? I was, I wasn't involved, but kind of, yeah. Yeah. It was- Hopefully not New Amsterdam. Um. Constantinople. Um, well, I don't know. I have no New York's market.
• 22:51
It will not be back in Maine, I know that for sure. That's no good for business with the tourists. It's not coming back anywhere near where it was at before. I can, I can see- I'm not sure... I don't know.
• 22:56
So I, I just did this today, 'cause we have the shit we're doing, which the list is really short now. Uh, Kegel Foundation Slow Roll this weekend. Steel Is Real, don't know, but we're- Oh, it should be...
• 23:09

• 23:18
November now, not October, not August, not- Oh, what? No. Is it in Austin again? And that's, and that's- Well, maybe... and that's my point exactly.
• 23:25
They keep canceling because of rain and other pandemicy kinda shit, and that's my point.
• 23:30
I'm, I'm, I, I was talking to Carrie a couple months ago, and she said when they switched it from October, November, I said, "I'm out." And I said, "I can't go because I have ha- hiking tours then."
• 23:40
But I said, "Even with all that, I'm out." That's like the sixth time they moved the date. That's bullshit. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Man, cool, what are you, NASA? Keep moving the damn [laughs]... The launch window is moving.
• 23:51
Yeah, like boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. At least, yeah, there's some vectors or whatever. All right, so I don't- Yeah... Chewy, do you, have you- Dealing with that shit...

• 24:08
So Shoresy's, the bird in Shoresy that's like a parrot, I did not realize that the name of the parrot was Big Sexy until this weekend. No. That it's, it's name, and it says- Tit Fucker or something all the time.
• 24:19
Tit Fucker. Yeah. It's like- Yeah, yeah... Tit Sexy is the name of the bird. It... Right. That's awesome. [laughs] Yeah. I totally forgot about that. I did, I... So you mentioned that the connection wasn't there.

• 25:07
This is the teaser. And it's great that it made the community a- This is the teaser... jump to change. Hell yeah.
• 25:12
I mean, it, it's, uh, it, it's, you know- Well, the thing about Decorah is, and Lunt's has proved this in the past, that it could have gone either way.
• 25:19
Could have been like, "Oh, they were really happy to have us," or they're like, "That guy can never come back to town again." See- Well- Was it Dave Lunt? Well, not this weekend, but in the past. Not this weekend.
• 25:28
I mean- Yeah. It's like you're lucky you're not sitting in the pokey right now, 'cause- Right... we don't put up, we don't cotton to that kind of stuff here in this here town. Yep.
• 25:36
You're going to just sit in that, that damn jail like Barney. Or not Barney or whatever. Who's the drunk in, uh, Andy Griffith? Yeah. Who is the drunk? It's not, it's not Andy. Wilbur. Wilbur now.

• 26:05
[laughs] I don't know why Andy Griffith came up this week, but here's the thing about that show. Guess who the only married person on that show was? Otis. Exactly.
• 26:15
[laughs] Every- everybody else was really freaking happy. [laughs] He's like, "Oh, shit. I don't want to go home. Just say you arrested me. I just didn't have-" Nobody else on the show was married. Isn't that weird?
• 26:25
I just hate Florida. I think that's kind of- I remember, I, I read so- Obviously Andy had been, but- I read something, I read something- Things ha- yeah...
• 26:32

• 26:40

• 26:52
No, there wasn't. Oh, there was. No. Where was she? Those were the good old days. This is, this is- There was no divorce back then. Oh, this is fertile. [laughs] You were subservient to your man. Yeah.

• 28:32
I just read one that was set in kind of River West, which was like, yeah, you don't turn right onto Hummel, you turn left. I was getting kind of pissy about it, but the story was pretty good.
• 28:40
Anyway, uh, this is a family that lived in Milwaukee growing up and spent their summers in Cape Cod 'cause their parents were teachers, in an old house that had been there for three generations already.
• 28:52
But the fact that she was a PH- That's the first time I heard about a PhD in creative writing, and I don't think that's a bad thing. No. I just want to know how you do that. Go to school. I guess, for, like, eight years?
• 29:05
No. No. Uh, to get a PhD, no, you're probably looking at... I mean, well, you gotta get your undergraduate, your graduate, and your PhD. Right. I think I can audit- Yeah, probably eight years...

• 29:41
if you're trying to pull it that way... I love UWM. He- But I think you should do it... he pissed all over Wisconsin for years. I know he did. Right. So now he gets a doctorate, and I love Wisconsin. Where's mine?
• 29:53
Well, you'll- Just saying... okay, you'll close the gap- Oh, great... in terms of time. [laughs] Can we get a, like, 30, 40 year gap close or just a couple years? I don't know. [laughs] I'm not that damn dialed in, man.
• 30:03
I've stayed- All right. Well, figure- I've stayed very low on the totem pole for a damn reason. I'm just saying. [laughs] Figure it out. I... You figure it out. [laughs] Figure it out. [laughs] It, man.

• 30:44
I don't think you, I don't think many cities have anything like it. No. And if they- That's-... do, it would be kind of a sad, sack of- Yeah, this is gorgeous. You know who should get a PhD in Beer Alley building?
• 30:55
Macaulay Culkin. Chewy. [laughs] And you know, th- that's the thing. Macaulay Culkin's middle name- Macaulay... is Macaulay Culkin.
