- 0:00Hello friends! Welcome back to Wonderfully Made,
- 0:04Bible Stories for Children. I'm so glad you're
- 0:08here. Last time, we met Deborah, a wise and brave
- 0:13woman whom God chose to lead His people. Today,
- 0:17we meet another judge. But this one didn't feel
- 0:21brave at all at first. His name was Gideon. and
- 0:27his story shows us that God's power works best
- 0:30when we feel weak. Are you ready for his story?
- 0:34Let's jump in. After Deborah helped Israel win
- 0:50peace, the people lived happily for a while.
- 0:54But soon, they forgot about God again and started
- 0:58doing what was wrong. Because of this, God allowed
- 1:02their enemies, the Midianites, to come and take
- 1:06over. The Israelites were so scared, they hid
- 1:10in caves and mountains. The Midianites stole
- 1:14their crops and animals and left them with almost
- 1:17nothing. So, the Israelites cried out to God
- 1:22again. And God in his kindness answered one day
- 1:27a young man named gideon was hiding in a winepress
- 1:31secretly threshing wheat so the midianites wouldn't
- 1:35steal it suddenly an angel of the lord appeared
- 1:39and said the lord is with you mighty warrior
- 1:44gideon did not believe the angel because the
- 1:48midianites had done many bad things to israel
- 1:52But the Lord told him, Go in the strength you
- 1:56have and save Israel out of Midian's hand. Gideon
- 2:01replied, But how can I save Israel? My clan is
- 2:07the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in
- 2:10my family. He was nervous. Was this really God?
- 2:16So he asked God for a sign, and then another
- 2:20sign. and god answered both times god was very
- 2:24patient with gideon finally gideon believed god
- 2:29and gathered a big group to fight but god had
- 2:33a surprise he told gideon that his army was too
- 2:36big too big that's not something soldiers usually
- 2:42hear god didn't want israel to think they had
- 2:46won by their own strength So he told Gideon to
- 2:51send soldiers home, first those who were afraid,
- 2:55and then more based on how they drank water from
- 2:58a stream. At the end, only three hundred men
- 3:02out of the twenty -two thousand Gideon had picked
- 3:05were left. That night, God gave Gideon one more
- 3:09sign to help him be brave. Then, with just three
- 3:14hundred men carrying trumpets, torches, and jars,
- 3:18they surrounded the Midianite camp in the dark.
- 3:22When Gideon gave the signal, they blew their
- 3:25trumpets, smashed their jars, and shouted. The
- 3:38Midianites were so scared and confused, they
- 3:41ran away and turned on each other. Israel didn't
- 3:45even need to fight. God had saved them with just
- 3:49300 men and one faithful leader. Let's think
- 3:59about a few things together. Have you ever felt
- 4:04too small to do something big God wanted you
- 4:07to do? If God calls you something brave, strong,
- 4:15or kind, even before you feel it. Can you believe
- 4:19him? What do you think God sees in you? Sometimes
- 4:30we feel too small, too weak, or too afraid. But
- 4:36that's okay. God's strength is perfect, even
- 4:40when we feel unsure. When we trust him, He can
- 4:44use us for big things, just like Gideon. Thanks
- 4:50for joining me today. Next time, we'll meet Samson,
- 4:54a man with incredible strength who forgot where
- 4:57his power really came from. What can we learn
- 5:01from his rise and fall? Don't miss it. Until
- 5:06then, remember, you are wonderfully made and
- 5:10God has a special purpose for you. Bye for now.
