- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, it's a mess out there. We'll get to the historic,
- 0:04Speaker 1: powerful moment, President Trump speaking in the Knesset Israel this morning,
- 0:08Speaker 1: powerful speech. We'll get to that Columbus Day. The parade
- 0:10Speaker 1: is canceled. We'll explain in a moment. We'll get to
- 0:14Speaker 1: George Stephanopolos. He shocked a lot of people on the
- 0:18Speaker 1: Sunday Show yesterday, sinking to all time lows. It was
- 0:21Speaker 1: really dirty, awful Stephanopolis at is worst. We'll get to
- 0:27Speaker 1: Diane Keaton. We'll get to the mayoral race. We'll get
- 0:30Speaker 1: to Mom, Donnie Cuomo, Curtis. A lot has happened over
- 0:36Speaker 1: the weekend. We'll get to the mayoral race. The stock
- 0:40Speaker 1: market took a plunge on Friday because there was a
- 0:43Speaker 1: tariff war that suddenly shot up against China percent tariffs,
- 0:47Speaker 1: Dow dropping five hundred points. The MSNBC, CNN, Crown, they
- 0:52Speaker 1: loved it. They was great. They got to talk about
- 0:54Speaker 1: that Dow. Wait, well, the President speaking about it this morning,
- 0:59Speaker 1: reassuring people. Dal right back up to where it was
- 1:02Speaker 1: very gloomy over there at MSNBC. Right now, Hey, the
- 1:05Speaker 1: Columbus Day parade is canceled. This is very, very very unusual.
- 1:12Speaker 1: It has been canceled because of the weather. It's brutal outside,
- 1:16Speaker 1: the rain, the wind, very very high winds expected today.
- 1:20Speaker 1: They were on the phone all afternoon yesterday trying to
- 1:23Speaker 1: decide what to do. The weather forecasters said, as bad
- 1:27Speaker 1: as yesterday was, today could be worse. Kind of it
- 1:31Speaker 1: would just look horrible having a parade in that wind,
- 1:34Speaker 1: in that rain. It would look awful, just everybody getting
- 1:36Speaker 1: blown around all over the place, and it would be dangerous.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Trees fallen, anything could happen. So they made the other
- 1:45Speaker 1: final straw was Governor Hochel declared officially declared a state
- 1:50Speaker 1: of emergency in New York. And then overnight they realized,
- 1:55Speaker 1: you can't if it's a state of emergency, you can't
- 1:57Speaker 1: have a parade in the middle of that state of emergency.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Means you're supposed to stay home beyond. So the parade
- 2:04Speaker 1: is canceled. Latest word from the parade organizers is that
- 2:08Speaker 1: they're not going to reschedule. I guess it's just too
- 2:13Speaker 1: tough to do. So there is no Columbus Day Parade
- 2:15Speaker 1: this year. However, they normally would broadcast it on TV
- 2:19Speaker 1: about one o'clock, two o'clock they're still going to do
- 2:21Speaker 1: the broadcast. What they'll do is do interviews with the
- 2:25Speaker 1: Grand Marshal, the people in the parade. There'll be a
- 2:27Speaker 1: show you can watch on TV today. The Columbus Club
- 2:31Speaker 1: over there on sixty ninth Street, they're the ones that
- 2:33Speaker 1: put on the parade, so they'll do a live show
- 2:35Speaker 1: from the Columbus Club. They'll interview a lot of people.
- 2:38Speaker 1: They had a big gallat dinner Saturday night. I'll get
- 2:41Speaker 1: to that in a few moments because that has a
- 2:42Speaker 1: lot to do with the mayoral race, the behavior of
- 2:46Speaker 1: the candidates there. We'll get to that coming up. So
- 2:49Speaker 1: President Trump in Israel. It was a powerful speech. It
- 2:52Speaker 1: was great. It was a very formal teleprompter speech about
- 2:56Speaker 1: bringing peace to the world. But it's Donald Trump, so
- 3:00Speaker 1: minutes he would go off the teleprompter and throw in
- 3:03Speaker 1: a lot of stuff, some great moments. At one point
- 3:07Speaker 1: even looked at the Israeli president said you gotta pardon Babie.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Give him a pardon. The guy deserves it. Best wartime
- 3:13Speaker 1: leader ever. Remember net Yahoo was indicted a few years
- 3:17Speaker 1: ago minor little stuff. They claimed he took a gift.
- 3:21Speaker 1: They claim he gave something to a reporter in exchange
- 3:24Speaker 1: for a favorable coverage. It's not big stuff, but the
- 3:27Speaker 1: President actually sang it to him in front of the world.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Give the guy a pardon. After all he's done. The
- 3:31Speaker 1: hostages have been freed, the twenty living hostages. It's believed
- 3:35Speaker 1: there's twenty seven or twenty eight dead hostages. The body
- 3:39Speaker 1: should be released in the next day or two. The
- 3:42Speaker 1: twenty hostages were released. This is a great moment, it's
- 3:45Speaker 1: a great deal. The only criticisms some people have Israel
- 3:50Speaker 1: sure gave up a lot of prisoners in exchange for
- 3:53Speaker 1: this something that I don't know, like a thousand prisoners.
- 3:55Speaker 1: The ratio of hostages to prisoners didn't seem right to
- 3:59Speaker 1: a lot of people. Some of those prisoners released, about
- 4:02Speaker 1: one hundred of them are the worst terrorists, I mean,
- 4:04Speaker 1: really bad Hamas terrorist types. Now, the argument is that
- 4:09Speaker 1: there's about twenty five thousand Hamas terrorists out there, so
- 4:14Speaker 1: if it's twenty five thousand, one hundred, it won't change
- 4:17Speaker 1: the dynamic too much. But it's a great moment, a
- 4:19Speaker 1: great deal, historic President Trump. The broadcast the speech live
- 4:24Speaker 1: on all the networks this morning. Then when it was over,
- 4:27Speaker 1: you could see the smiles in everybody's faces, knowing peace
- 4:30Speaker 1: is here. It's a new era. It's the beginning of
- 4:33Speaker 1: a whole new era in the Mid East. Everything is bad.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Everybody was happy unless you put on MSNBC. Then when
- 4:39Speaker 1: the speech was over, they went to those guys they have,
- 4:41Speaker 1: you know, that whole panel with the glasses and the
- 4:43Speaker 1: bow ties, and they gave you that. Well, they tried to.
- 4:48Speaker 1: It was tough to make it sound negative the whole thing,
- 4:51Speaker 1: but they tried. They tried. Well, you never know, I mean,
- 4:53Speaker 1: this is we're partnering with the Saudi in these Middle
- 4:58Speaker 1: Eastern can't be counted on as a partners. So they
- 5:01Speaker 1: tried to spin it negative. It wasn't easy to do.
- 5:04Speaker 1: They really struggled. The hostages are back, but they're going
- 5:09Speaker 1: to be in medical care for quite some time. They
- 5:13Speaker 1: were kept in dark tunnels for two years, and doctors say,
- 5:18Speaker 1: besides all the physical medical problems they could be facing,
- 5:23Speaker 1: they're gonna need a lot of treatment. The mental health
- 5:25Speaker 1: problems could be huge. So they'll be treating those hostages
- 5:29Speaker 1: for a long long time. And then they keep getting
- 5:34Speaker 1: these there's power outages all over the place. I keep
- 5:41Speaker 1: getting these power company calls and we're restoring your powers.
- 5:45Speaker 1: So I think in Connecticut you got like ten thousand
- 5:48Speaker 1: outages this morning. Trees down, lines down all over the place.
- 5:54Speaker 1: So hey, you also talk about Diane Keaton, lots to
- 5:59Speaker 1: talk about or their amazing career. And then we'll get
- 6:03Speaker 1: to Eric Adams having a fight with a reporter getting
- 6:09Speaker 1: a little angry. Im speaking of angry. The Columbus Day
- 6:12Speaker 1: Parade was to be today. It's been canceled because of
- 6:15Speaker 1: the weather. But what they do is on the Saturday
- 6:19Speaker 1: night before they have a huge galla dinner. The committee
- 6:24Speaker 1: the club that puts on the parade, and it's a
- 6:27Speaker 1: great thing. Maria Bartiromo's the MC, a lot of famous faces.
- 6:30Speaker 1: It was normally at the Wall Door for somewhere, this
- 6:34Speaker 1: time at Chipriani Wall Street, which I like that Chipriani
- 6:39Speaker 1: forty second Street, but that Wall Street one is quite
- 6:42Speaker 1: inconvenient getting to. And you get down there to Wall Street,
- 6:46Speaker 1: it's like a maze of little streets and half of
- 6:48Speaker 1: them are closed off. It's a mess down there. So anyway,
- 6:51Speaker 1: but it was quite a night. Curtis showed up in
- 6:55Speaker 1: fact check my Instagram. You'll see a picture of me
- 6:57Speaker 1: and Curtis at the dinner. But Curtish showed up for
- 7:00Speaker 1: the cocktail hour and was mobbed, mobbed everybody wanted a
- 7:06Speaker 1: picture with Curtis, people who are all just surrounding him,
- 7:09Speaker 1: mobbing them everybody. The energy you could see in the
- 7:12Speaker 1: room for Curtis was amazing, just mobbed the whole night
- 7:17Speaker 1: by the crowd. And then Andrew Cuomo showed up for
- 7:21Speaker 1: the cocktail party and the dinner and it was just
- 7:23Speaker 1: the opposite. Most people just kind of looking at him,
- 7:26Speaker 1: and he looked like he was not in a good mood,
- 7:30Speaker 1: not in a good mood. He was kind of glaring
- 7:33Speaker 1: at me the whole time. I just stayed away. And
- 7:35Speaker 1: then but there were other people in the media who
- 7:37Speaker 1: he went over and confronted. It was it got kind
- 7:40Speaker 1: of ugly, fact people intervening saying, hey, not the place.
- 7:44Speaker 1: So I don't know what the hell he's so angry about.
- 7:47Speaker 1: But it didn't look good. So far, it hasn't gotten
- 7:52Speaker 1: a lot of coverage his behavior there, but it might.
- 7:55Speaker 1: It might start to him. He was quite unpleasant to
- 7:58Speaker 1: some people there. We'll wait and see what comes out
- 8:02Speaker 1: about that. But hey, and George Stephanopolis yesterday gets Vice
- 8:08Speaker 1: President Vance as the guest. Now that's kind of a
- 8:10Speaker 1: big deal for a Sunday show to have the Vice
- 8:13Speaker 1: President of the United States as your guest. You usually
- 8:18Speaker 1: treat him with the great dignity. But Stephanoppolis, of course
- 8:21Speaker 1: say left wing, totally corrupt anchor totally partisan, totally slanted,
- 8:27Speaker 1: is just badgering and banging away Advance, trying to give
- 8:31Speaker 1: him a hard time. And then apparently they decided the
- 8:34Speaker 1: thing they would get him on is Tom Holman taking
- 8:36Speaker 1: a fifty thousand dollars bribe. Now there's no evidence anywhere
- 8:40Speaker 1: of Tom Holman taking a fifty thousand dollars bribe. There
- 8:44Speaker 1: is an FBI they had some undercover guy recording a
- 8:48Speaker 1: conversation of home and accepting fifty thousand. But what it
- 8:52Speaker 1: was was, this is not while he's in government. He
- 8:54Speaker 1: was running a private business in the private sector and
- 8:58Speaker 1: somebody hired him for fifty thousand dollars. It's not a bribe.
- 9:03Speaker 1: This is what everybody in government does when they leave.
- 9:06Speaker 1: This is what all these guys do. You know, the
- 9:08Speaker 1: former Senate majority leader, the Speaker of the House, all
- 9:12Speaker 1: the top government people, cabinet. But this is what many
- 9:16Speaker 1: of them, about eighty percent of them. When they leave,
- 9:18Speaker 1: they set up a business and you can hire them.
- 9:21Speaker 1: And the reason you hire them is they got a
- 9:23Speaker 1: lot of cloud in DC. They can pick up the
- 9:25Speaker 1: phone and help you get a contract. They can help
- 9:28Speaker 1: you get a law changed, they can make phone calls.
- 9:31Speaker 1: They're like lobbyists, but they got a tremendous amount of influence.
- 9:35Speaker 1: Happens everywhere, happens here in New York City. If you
- 9:37Speaker 1: were a big deputy mayor or some big thing in
- 9:39Speaker 1: the New York City government, when you leave, many of
- 9:42Speaker 1: these guys form a company and you hire them as
- 9:44Speaker 1: your lobbyist. They can go down the city Hall and
- 9:47Speaker 1: get you your permits, or they can get whatever you need.
- 9:50Speaker 1: So it's perfectly normal. That's what Homan did in the
- 9:53Speaker 1: years he was out of government, and it's what eighty
- 9:55Speaker 1: percent of the people do when they're out of Government's
- 9:57Speaker 1: what James Comey did. They go back into the private
- 9:59Speaker 1: se Now sometimes you'll see whoa you know, he went
- 10:02Speaker 1: to work for a law firm. That's the reason the
- 10:04Speaker 1: law firm hired him or his government influence. If you're
- 10:10Speaker 1: in the US Attorney's office and you leave the law
- 10:12Speaker 1: firm will hire you, not because you're the greatest attorney,
- 10:15Speaker 1: but because you know everybody in the US Attorney's office.
- 10:17Speaker 1: You can help get a deal for the client. But
- 10:20Speaker 1: it's a silly little story. But Stephanoppolis brings it up
- 10:23Speaker 1: with the Vice president, the vice president explaining all this
- 10:27Speaker 1: to them, and Stephanopplis won't give up, and he's just
- 10:30Speaker 1: banging away at the Vice President of the United States.
- 10:33Speaker 1: And then this is where people thought it was the
- 10:34Speaker 1: lowest moment ever in the history of Sunday morning television.
- 10:38Speaker 1: He said, well, I have reporting here from Pro Publica.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Now you might be saying, what the hell is Pro Publica.
- 10:45Speaker 1: It's this far left wing blog. They call themselves journalist.
- 10:49Speaker 1: It's a news organization. It's a far left wing blog.
- 10:54Speaker 1: It's the last I mean, the fact that ABC News
- 10:57Speaker 1: is quoting this far left wing blog as some sort
- 11:00Speaker 1: of news organization is preposterous. It's backed by a couple
- 11:05Speaker 1: of left wing billionaires who pumped tons of money into it.
- 11:08Speaker 1: But the last time you ever heard it discussed was
- 11:10Speaker 1: by Keith Oberman, Remember that crazy Keith Oberman MSNBC. That's
- 11:14Speaker 1: the kind of guy was always quoting Pro public. So
- 11:17Speaker 1: it looks so low. And at one point the Vice
- 11:21Speaker 1: president said, you know, George, I'm the vice president the
- 11:24Speaker 1: United States. Here I am on television. You should be
- 11:27Speaker 1: asking me about the shutdown. You should be discussing important issues,
- 11:31Speaker 1: not going down some far left rabbit hole, which he said,
- 11:35Speaker 1: that's the reason your ratings are slipping, that's the reason
- 11:38Speaker 1: less and less people watch you all the time. Well,
- 11:40Speaker 1: Stephan Uplis got mad. Just cut him off, just cut
- 11:43Speaker 1: him off, and said I didn't I didn't a quire him,
- 11:46Speaker 1: and we have to go. And then as Vance started
- 11:49Speaker 1: to say something, Stephanoplis said, we'll be right back. Just
- 11:53Speaker 1: cut off the vice president. It was the lowest moment.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Can you imagine if Tim Russett were alive. I saw this.
- 12:01Speaker 1: David Brinkley created that Sunday morning shown. Imagine if he
- 12:04Speaker 1: came back to life and saw that, it would have
- 12:05Speaker 1: been just awful for him. So, hey, Diane Keaton, didn't
- 12:12Speaker 1: expect her to go. She was only seventy nine, I mean,
- 12:15Speaker 1: seemed okay, but apparently her health declined a lot in
- 12:19Speaker 1: the last few months. Diane Keaton, of course, the godfather.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Michael, why did you come here? Why? What do you
- 12:29Speaker 2: want of me?
- 12:29Speaker 1: After all this time you're allowed, You're going to be
- 12:31Speaker 1: calling writing I came here because I made you, because
- 12:36Speaker 1: I kept for you. Please stop at Michaels, I want
- 12:40Speaker 1: your en merriment now. In real life, the opposite happened
- 12:45Speaker 1: this Godfather's what was it seventy one, seventy two, the
- 12:50Speaker 1: sequel Godfather Too, I think was seventy four. And then
- 12:53Speaker 1: after that, Al Pacino starts dating Diane Keaton and they
- 12:58Speaker 1: get very very very serious. And this goes on for
- 13:00Speaker 1: many years, and I guess she wanted to get married.
- 13:04Speaker 1: She finally just absolutely insisted they get married. This is
- 13:07Speaker 1: after many, many, many many years of dating. Pacino did
- 13:10Speaker 1: not want to get married, did not want to commit
- 13:12Speaker 1: to that, and so she broke up with him. That
- 13:15Speaker 1: was the end of it. Pacino later said years later
- 13:18Speaker 1: that was the biggest mistake of his life, biggest regret
- 13:21Speaker 1: is that he didn't marry her. He should have done it,
- 13:23Speaker 1: he didn't do it. So now the other one was
- 13:28Speaker 1: Woody Allen. Of course, Diane Keaton and Woody Allen. They
- 13:30Speaker 1: first worked together on Broadway and there was nineteen sixty nine.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Woody Allen had a big Broadway show called Play It
- 13:36Speaker 1: Against Sam based on the movie Castle Blank, and he
- 13:40Speaker 1: auditioned a woman named Diane Keaton and thought she was phenomenal.
- 13:44Speaker 1: He said, he fell in love with her immediately. Couldn't
- 13:46Speaker 1: believe how fast he fell in love with her. So
- 13:48Speaker 1: she starred in the show with him. They later did
- 13:50Speaker 1: Annie Hall. She got the Oscar for that.
- 13:52Speaker 2: You played very well, Oh yeah, so do you. Oh god,
- 13:56Speaker 2: what a dumb thing to say, right I mean, you say,
- 14:00Speaker 2: even right.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Away, I have to say, you play well?
- 14:03Speaker 2: Oh oh god, Annie Well?
- 14:06Speaker 1: Oh well, Lotti da Lotti Da La. Well, you had
- 14:12Speaker 1: to be there at the time. Boy, that was quite
- 14:14Speaker 1: a movie. What a big film. That was her fashion
- 14:17Speaker 1: in that film, trend setting it was. She won the
- 14:20Speaker 1: Oscar for it. And of course she and Woody Allen
- 14:23Speaker 1: dated for a while. I mean, anybody can go from
- 14:25Speaker 1: al Pacino to Woody Allen. You got to give him credit.
- 14:28Speaker 1: And oh hey, take a look at my Instagram. The
- 14:31Speaker 1: last time I saw them together, they were having dinner together.
- 14:34Speaker 1: I don't know, it was like a year or two
- 14:35Speaker 1: years ago. Whenever it was, I have I put I
- 14:38Speaker 1: took a picture of them having dinner together with the
- 14:40Speaker 1: wife Sunyi. But it's up on my Instagram. Take a
- 14:44Speaker 1: look at it. Mark Simone NYC at Instagram. Woody Allen
- 14:48Speaker 1: wrote a quite a piece about her. That's out. You
- 14:52Speaker 1: can read that today. So he Mark Sanchez now says
- 14:59Speaker 1: drug substance alcohol? Is that what he's saying. He says
- 15:01Speaker 1: he's in recovery.
- 15:02Speaker 2: And now I'm just my recovery and I just wanted
- 15:10Speaker 2: to thank the first responders Esconazi Hospital. That's why you're going.
- 15:20Speaker 1: The first responders' thinking the police that stopped him from
- 15:23Speaker 1: killing the guy. I mean, the guy was beaten to
- 15:26Speaker 1: a pulp by Mark Sanchez. In fact, if you see
- 15:28Speaker 1: the pictures of this guy in the hospital, it was brutal. Sanchez,
- 15:32Speaker 1: I guess trying to recover his career. I don't think
- 15:35Speaker 1: it's gonna happen. I don't bet so. Anyway, we got
- 15:37Speaker 1: a lot to get to Michael Goodwin in a few moments.
- 15:39Speaker 1: The parade has been canceled. No Columbus Day parade. The
- 15:43Speaker 1: rain will continue. It looks like it'll ease up by
- 15:46Speaker 1: tomorrow morning. And hey, we'll take some calls. Next eight
- 15:49Speaker 1: hundred three to two one zero seven ten is the
- 15:52Speaker 1: number eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten,
