• 0:40
SPEAKER_04: My name's Dakota, I'm one third of your host at Project Geek Cology, and I'm joined as always with Anthony, and you know, I I don't know how long I'll be able to record tonight.
• 0:51
SPEAKER_04: You know, my my stomach is hurting a little bit.
• 0:54
SPEAKER_04: I ate this like moth frog thing.
• 0:57
SPEAKER_04: And yeah, you know, just not no you don't recommend it.
• 1:02
SPEAKER_03: Did you do it willingly or was it thrust upon you?
• 1:06
  SPEAKER_04: Uh I think I dreamed it, but you know, I I don't know.
• 1:11
SPEAKER_04: I I really I I could not tell you if it was a dream, if I was hallucinating, or if I just if it was willingly or against my my wishes.
• 1:21
SPEAKER_04: But you know, I'm just gonna I'm gonna send that over to to Rich, you know.
• 1:25
SPEAKER_04: You know, uh did did I did I say Anthony?
• 1:28
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, this is Anthony.
• 1:29
SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna send it over to Rich.
• 1:36
  SPEAKER_05: Juicy Hayes IPA.
• 1:39
  SPEAKER_05: Uh that's unofficially.
• 1:40
SPEAKER_03: I am obligated to say that we are unofficially sponsored.
• 1:43
SPEAKER_03: We we have not had any communications with Voodoo Ranger.
• 1:46
  SPEAKER_03: Rich, how are you?
• 1:48
SPEAKER_05: Uh unofficially, officially, I'm doing well, and uh I'm very excited to join you guys for what is sure to be an infuriating show.
• 1:57
SPEAKER_05: Uh and uh hey listen, you know what?
• 2:01
  SPEAKER_05: I'm not Mr.
• 2:03
SPEAKER_05: C is not the only one who's got a Dougie.
• 2:06
SPEAKER_05: I'll just leave it at that for now.
• 2:08
SPEAKER_03: Guys, uh, if you haven't picked it up by now, which you probably haven't, if you haven't actually read the name of this episode, um we are covering two things uh this week.
• 2:18
SPEAKER_03: Fire Walk With Me, the Twin Peaks film that came out in 1992, and the first eight episodes of Twin Peaks The Return, uh, which came out in 2017.
• 2:31
SPEAKER_03: Uh we decided to jump forward with Twin Peaks The Return, which is the follow-up to obviously the Twin Peaks series that only lasted two seasons.
• 2:43
SPEAKER_03: But uh our co-hosts really wanted to watch uh Twin Peaks the Return, or Twin Peaks Fire Walk With Me as well, just so that they get a more rounded uh vision.
• 2:53
SPEAKER_03: And I I I think that that was the right move because there's actually some things in the return that are directly linked to Fire Walk With Me, and you would have missed out on some of that, uh, those logic leaps.
• 3:04
SPEAKER_03: So uh I'm glad you guys uh forced that and pushed through so that we could, you know, cover both Fire Walk With Me and the Return today.
• 3:13
SPEAKER_03: Uh but before we do any of that, let's briefly discuss uh some of the stuff that we've been up to this week.
• 3:19
  SPEAKER_03: And you know what?
• 3:20
SPEAKER_03: We haven't even introduced our special guest who's been on the show from the past three episodes.
• 3:26
SPEAKER_03: Um I'm so sorry, Jen.
• 3:33
SPEAKER_01: I just like looked over at Dakota, like we're sitting next to each other, and I was like, nobody said hi to me yet.
• 3:40
SPEAKER_01: Guys, uh hi guys, I'm Jen.
• 3:43
  SPEAKER_03: It's okay, Jen.
• 3:45
SPEAKER_03: Uh it was it wasn't it wasn't intentional.
• 3:48
SPEAKER_03: You're just not one of the OGs at this point.
• 3:50
  SPEAKER_03: Thanks.
• 3:51
SPEAKER_01: I really love this warm welcome.
• 3:53
SPEAKER_01: Jimstone McGone talking about the chance.
• 3:57
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 3:58
SPEAKER_04: Actually, technically, Jen Jen was one of the OGs for a little while.
• 4:02
  SPEAKER_04: For a bit.
• 4:03
SPEAKER_01: I feel like I was actually, quite frankly, the first OG because Dakota and I started our YouTube channel together first.
• 4:09
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, snap.
• 4:10
  SPEAKER_03: She's bringing she's bringing a pre-project ecology.
• 4:13
SPEAKER_03: Anyway, we have a big show ahead of us.
• 4:16
SPEAKER_03: Anthony, what have you been up to this week?
• 4:18
  SPEAKER_03: Nothing?
• 4:19
  SPEAKER_03: Cool.
• 4:19
SPEAKER_03: Rich, what have you been up to?
• 4:21
  SPEAKER_03: I was kidding.
• 4:22
SPEAKER_03: Anthony, what are you what's up?
• 4:25
SPEAKER_04: Honestly, just been nerd nerding it out with uh with the the World of Warcraft, been continuing my my deep dive.
• 4:33
SPEAKER_04: I sent you the three books.
• 4:35
SPEAKER_04: You had the three chronicles, yeah.
• 4:37
  SPEAKER_04: Those like lore books.
• 4:39
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah, man.
• 4:40
  SPEAKER_04: They're really nice.
• 4:41
SPEAKER_03: Are they are they large novels or are they like source books?
• 4:46
SPEAKER_04: So so they read out kind of like a it's like a history, you know?
• 4:50
  SPEAKER_04: So it's like I'm reading history.
• 4:54
SPEAKER_04: So it's not it's not covering like one specific person, it's covering just like you know, kind of Azeroth and like some of the the people in Azeroth, but there are like actual books that that'll cover um like actual you know events and and stories and and characters that are in the actual world World of Warcraft universe.
• 5:16
  SPEAKER_04: So I don't know.
• 5:17
SPEAKER_04: Like I I I kind of I kind of have like the the itch to to know a little bit more.
• 5:22
  SPEAKER_04: You gotta scratch it.
• 5:23
SPEAKER_04: Um especially the the Warcraft like before while like you know the OGs, Warcraft uh 1, 2, and 3.
• 5:31
SPEAKER_04: Oh, does it go into the street?
• 5:32
SPEAKER_04: There's a lot of yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 5:34
SPEAKER_04: It it it goes into some like early like Warcraft stuff.
• 5:37
  SPEAKER_04: So very cool.
• 5:39
  SPEAKER_04: It's um yeah, it's cool.
• 5:40
  SPEAKER_04: I I'm I'm enjoying it so far.
• 5:42
SPEAKER_04: The book is really cool, it's really nicely done and has some like really awesome art in it too.
• 5:48
SPEAKER_04: So I'm I'll I'll have to I'll have to send send some pictures of some cool stuff to y'all.
• 5:54
SPEAKER_04: You know, may maybe one of these days.
• 5:57
  SPEAKER_04: No, it'd be tough.
• 5:58
SPEAKER_04: It'd be tough to to cover World of Warcraft.
• 6:01
SPEAKER_04: Um but yeah, so that that's mostly what I've been up to.
• 6:05
  SPEAKER_04: How about you, Rich?
• 6:07
  SPEAKER_05: I've had a weird week.
• 6:09
SPEAKER_05: In 43 years of life, I've been gifted three cardboard cutouts of myself.
• 6:15
SPEAKER_05: Uh two in the last week.
• 6:18
SPEAKER_05: Uh uh it was a uh kind gesture by a coworker.
• 6:22
SPEAKER_05: Uh it has been really weird.
• 6:25
SPEAKER_05: Um, I just have a cardboard cutout my size of me in the back of my classroom.
• 6:30
SPEAKER_05: I can't bring it home because my wife doesn't want it in the house.
• 6:35
SPEAKER_05: Kids are just taking selfies on it.
• 6:37
SPEAKER_03: One rich is too many.
• 6:39
  SPEAKER_05: Kids are taking selfies.
• 6:41
SPEAKER_05: So the kids I don't know now know about it, so they're just walking into my room and like seeing it.
• 6:46
SPEAKER_05: And uh the best part is that the next month I have a what's called an unannounced observation window.
• 6:54
SPEAKER_05: This means that an administrator from any building in the district can come observe me, and I now have a life-size replica of myself on the other side of the room.
• 7:07
SPEAKER_05: A top of the room.
• 7:10
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, uh, or uh, yeah, like a uh uh uh a Dougie.
• 7:13
SPEAKER_05: Uh you have your own Dougie, okay.
• 7:16
SPEAKER_01: It is like really lifelike, and multiple times today when I like entered Rich's room, or if I was sitting and turned to look at something, I was scared.
• 7:26
SPEAKER_01: Like it it frightened me.
• 7:28
SPEAKER_03: So so Rich, I I've known about it for a while.
• 7:31
  SPEAKER_03: Uh the the cutout.
• 7:32
SPEAKER_03: Jen sent me a picture of it, uh I think like over a week ago.
• 7:36
SPEAKER_03: Um she sent yeah, she said.
• 7:38
SPEAKER_03: I need to see this.
• 7:40
SPEAKER_03: Here, I'll I'll I'll I'll put it in in our group chat.
• 7:42
  SPEAKER_03: But anyway.
• 7:43
SPEAKER_04: I need I I need to see the other one.
• 7:45
SPEAKER_03: It looks just like him.
• 7:46
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 7:47
SPEAKER_03: Um, but it's I thought it was just a picture of you and Rich like standing next to each other.
• 7:52
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I sent him the picture and I said, Don't tell Rich.
• 7:55
  SPEAKER_01: It's a surprise.
• 7:56
SPEAKER_01: And then Dakota like took a while to respond, and apparently he was like, Why would I not tell Rich about a picture of you and Rich?
• 8:05
SPEAKER_05: It was uh it was quite a thing.
• 8:07
SPEAKER_05: It was revealed during a uh a uh what was called an emergency department meeting, so it was a little bit overwhelming.
• 8:15
SPEAKER_05: Uh, but it is kind of hilarious, and uh, I'm going to embrace it.
• 8:19
SPEAKER_05: Other than that, and and like nerdom, I've just uh I got to uh I binged uh Wonderman.
• 8:26
  SPEAKER_01: What did you think?
• 8:26
  SPEAKER_05: I think it I I love it.
• 8:28
  SPEAKER_05: It's fantastic.
• 8:29
  SPEAKER_05: I uh yeah, it's it's great.
• 8:32
SPEAKER_05: I mean Ben Kingsley's great in it.
• 8:34
SPEAKER_05: I love his character of Trevor Slattery.
• 8:37
  SPEAKER_05: It's it's uh it's it's highly recommended.
• 8:40
SPEAKER_05: I I wish they would have given it more press.
• 8:42
  SPEAKER_05: It's kind of upsetting.
• 8:44
SPEAKER_05: And um there's one big question I have though, it's like I just don't know where it fits on the timeline of MCU stuff.
• 8:52
SPEAKER_05: And I I wish there was a guy that I knew personally that could maybe clarify for people where it fits on the timeline, but I'm not sure if we're ever gonna find that person.
• 9:03
SPEAKER_05: Anyway, I'm gonna kick it to uh Dakota.
• 9:06
SPEAKER_05: Uh what how's your week been?
• 9:08
SPEAKER_03: Uh my week's been pretty good.
• 9:10
SPEAKER_03: I got laid off on Friday.
• 9:15
  SPEAKER_03: But you know what?
• 9:17
SPEAKER_03: It happens to me pretty often, so I I don't really care.
• 9:21
SPEAKER_03: Uh it's just part of the job.
• 9:22
SPEAKER_03: Um so now I'm just gonna freeze.
• 9:26
SPEAKER_01: You're making you're making me sound terrible.
• 9:29
  SPEAKER_03: I know.
• 9:30
  SPEAKER_03: I I sound I sound like a terrible guys.
• 9:38
SPEAKER_05: I know what he's saying and just the words though.
• 9:41
  SPEAKER_05: Like, I can't.
• 9:43
SPEAKER_05: Okay, I gotta calm down.
• 9:45
SPEAKER_04: But was it because it was so nonchalant?
• 9:47
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I had a great week.
• 9:49
SPEAKER_04: I got and then and then I got late on Why Noah doesn't bother him because he he's uh he's a union uh I get I get sent right back out whenever he can easily get a job tomorrow.
• 10:02
SPEAKER_03: If they if they have work for me, they'll send me out to another company.
• 10:04
SPEAKER_03: But uh in the in the interim, I uh I'm going I'm excited to like get started on my project that I told you guys about last week.
• 10:13
SPEAKER_03: I won't bore you with the details, but I'm I've I've batched all the content that I want to release in February into like one big script so that I can read it um and then cut it into individual like bite-sized uh shorts that I can put on you know whatever Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, whatever.
• 10:35
  SPEAKER_03: So I'm I'm excited about that.
• 10:37
  SPEAKER_03: It's it's uh a new thing for me.
• 10:40
SPEAKER_03: Uh I want it to look professional, but uh it'll be nice having you know 20 to 40 second videos to edit instead of 20 minute videos, you know?
• 10:52
SPEAKER_03: So that that should be fun.
• 10:54
SPEAKER_03: Um other other than that, yeah, I I we we just finished watching the first app of Wonder Man and really good so far.
• 11:01
  SPEAKER_03: Very, very excited.
• 11:03
SPEAKER_03: I too hope to discover uh where it fits on the MCU timeline.
• 11:09
  SPEAKER_03: I guess I guess we'll never know.
• 11:12
  SPEAKER_03: It's the optimistic approach.
• 11:14
SPEAKER_03: According to Disney Plus, it's the latest thing.
• 11:18
SPEAKER_05: Uh that yeah, because I I tr I trust Disney Plus.
• 11:20
  SPEAKER_05: Come on, Dakota.
• 11:21
SPEAKER_05: Like we need to dust it off, bring it out of retirement, like you know, put on a cape and let's get back to it, buddy.
• 11:26
SPEAKER_03: I I guess that might be in the cards, you know.
• 11:30
  SPEAKER_03: We'll we'll see how long I'm unemployed.
• 11:34
SPEAKER_03: Alright, um, yeah, I did we do anything else?
• 11:37
SPEAKER_03: Oh, we watched the studio, uh, which is also kind of like Wonderman because Wonderman is is you know, while while it has a superhero twist and it exists in the world of Marvel, it's about uh an actor, Simon, who is trying to get a role in uh Major Motion Picture.
• 11:55
SPEAKER_03: Uh The Studio is a show by Seth Rogan, it's a comedy, but it's kind of based on like what the studio heads do on a daily basis, like the the shenanigans that they get up to, the the type of nonsense that they uh uh have to deal with, you know, with actors, with other directors, with uh it's it's just a very funny show and it's incredible uh filmmaking.
• 12:20
SPEAKER_03: Like I'm I'm so so impressed by the filmmaking.
• 12:23
SPEAKER_03: Like there's an episode called The Warner, and it's it's the idea that like there there are shots in movies that are one takes and they last a really long time, and it's part of the artistry of like creating this one or like and so there's there's a whole episode about uh Seth Rogan's character, uh who's like a producer in a big motion picture studio, going onto a set and like trying to experience this one or um everything that he does, all all the uh all the stuff that he introduces to the set basically ruins their opportunity to film the oneer.
• 13:03
  SPEAKER_03: So it's it's just it's a comedy and a tragedy all at once.
• 13:07
SPEAKER_03: A comedy of errors, a comedy of errors, but the entire episode is filmed in one shot, so it itself is a winner of a wonder.
• 13:17
  SPEAKER_03: It's it's really it's really cool.
• 13:19
SPEAKER_03: Like the the the way that they did that.
• 13:20
  SPEAKER_03: So I'm I I really recommend the studio.
• 13:23
SPEAKER_03: It's uh Apple TV series.
• 13:24
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean you and I've been watching the same stuff, so I think you covered it really.
• 13:28
  SPEAKER_03: I think I covered it.
• 13:29
  SPEAKER_03: Um yeah.
• 13:30
SPEAKER_01: Other than that, I've just been on Pinterest, just curating my little pin boards.
• 13:35
  SPEAKER_01: Dakota doesn't understand.
• 13:36
SPEAKER_01: I just like to to organize pictures on this website, and he he doesn't get it.
• 13:41
SPEAKER_01: He doesn't really get it.
• 13:42
  SPEAKER_03: I've looked at it.
• 13:43
SPEAKER_03: It uh doesn't make much sense, but you know I'm just like a little robot.
• 13:46
SPEAKER_01: I'm like a little have your flop robot organizing my photos into different folders.
• 13:52
  SPEAKER_04: Yep.
• 13:54
SPEAKER_04: Look look, as as Twin Peak Twin Peaks Enjoyers, we know that nothing needs to make sense for you to enjoy.
• 14:01
  SPEAKER_03: Amen, brother.
• 14:02
SPEAKER_03: Uh I love whenever Anthony said uh as Twin Peaks Enjoyers, and and Rich just looked at the camera and shook his head dejectedly.
• 14:11
SPEAKER_01: Another thing I've been up to is going into my local deli where I'm treated like a celebrity, right?
• 14:16
  SPEAKER_01: Rich.
• 14:17
SPEAKER_01: Every time we go to the deli, everyone like knows my name.
• 14:20
SPEAKER_01: They go, Hey Jen, how's it going?
• 14:21
  SPEAKER_01: Jen?
• 14:22
  SPEAKER_01: You gotta pick up?
• 14:23
SPEAKER_01: And then they all and we all chat and we have fun.
• 14:26
SPEAKER_05: I've never seen, never seen anything like it.
• 14:29
SPEAKER_05: Uh uh although I will share a small short anecdote that unfortunately Jen uh was in charge of the orders the other day, and as she's trying to place the order on the way to the uh store, this deli in question, I um I just start yelling stuff.
• 14:44
SPEAKER_05: I I just start I start yelling stuff in the car.
• 14:46
  SPEAKER_05: I'm like, I'm Jen Stone McGonagall.
• 14:48
SPEAKER_05: I teach at Hogwarts, and she's trying to place the order, and we walk up there, and the poor guy at the counter is just like, Would you guys like any sauce for your chicken nuggets?
• 14:56
SPEAKER_05: And our one coworker goes, one.
• 15:01
SPEAKER_05: And he he's really confused.
• 15:04
SPEAKER_05: And then and then I bound around, and then Jen goes, Rich, what kind of sauce do you want?
• 15:10
  SPEAKER_05: I go, sauce.
• 15:12
SPEAKER_05: Uh and then uh the guy looks dumbfounded.
• 15:16
SPEAKER_01: It was like he like our friend went one, and then I got so irrationally angry because I was so mad at Rich talking over the call on the car that I was like, I'm not making conversation.
• 15:26
SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm just trying to get the sauce, like figure out which one you want.
• 15:29
SPEAKER_01: Like I got genuinely mad and the guy started cracking up laughing.
• 15:32
SPEAKER_01: And then Rich walks over and I'm like, what sauce do you want?
• 15:35
SPEAKER_01: He's like, sauce, and then the deli man lost it.
• 15:39
SPEAKER_01: We it was just absurd.
• 15:41
SPEAKER_01: It was just an absurd day to be honest.
• 15:42
SPEAKER_03: All right, all right, let's let's rein ourselves in your sauce tour.
• 15:48
SPEAKER_03: I don't have access to the deli, it's very far away from me.
• 15:50
SPEAKER_03: I am I am landlocked in my home while I'm unemployed.
• 15:54
SPEAKER_03: Um and I'm snowlocked, it snowed so much out here this past weekend.
• 16:00
  SPEAKER_03: My back hurts.
• 16:01
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's crazy.
• 16:02
SPEAKER_03: Anthony, we got 30 inches.
• 16:04
  SPEAKER_03: 3-0.
• 16:05
SPEAKER_04: Dude, dude, we're our our temperature this weekend is actually about to drop into like below our 30.
• 16:12
  SPEAKER_04: Sorry.
• 16:12
SPEAKER_04: You that's unheard of in South Florida.
• 16:16
SPEAKER_04: You know that these people are about to dress up like they're in Russia.
• 16:20
  SPEAKER_04: Canada Gooses.
• 16:21
  SPEAKER_04: Okay.
• 16:21
SPEAKER_04: Like the Yeah, I mean, you're not gonna see a face because like they're gonna be in parkas and like ski masks.
• 16:31
  SPEAKER_04: It's it's gonna be insane.
• 16:33
SPEAKER_05: I did land in Orlando once, and I think the high that weekend was like 61.
• 16:38
SPEAKER_05: And the cab driver, the Uber driver, just like apologized the entire way on the way to the hotel.
• 16:43
SPEAKER_05: He's like, I'm very sorry about this.
• 16:44
SPEAKER_05: He's like, it should not be this cold.
• 16:46
  SPEAKER_05: He's like, I'm not sure.
• 16:47
SPEAKER_05: He's like, You're coming from New York?
• 16:48
SPEAKER_05: He's like, it's the same temperature there.
• 16:50
  SPEAKER_05: He's like, That's wild.
• 16:51
  SPEAKER_05: He's like, I'm so sorry.
• 16:52
SPEAKER_05: And I'm like, This is not your fault, my friend.
• 16:54
SPEAKER_04: Like, I'm just you know, like, I'm sure you control my travel, but not my weather.
• 16:59
SPEAKER_04: You didn't realize that he was the weather wizard.
• 17:02
SPEAKER_01: In Twin Peaks, he would have actually controlled the weather.
• 17:05
  SPEAKER_04: Oh, a hundred percent.
• 17:06
SPEAKER_04: You'd be like, bad weather working.
• 17:08
SPEAKER_01: Wouldn't have been a cab driver, and then you would see like a flash of light.
• 17:12
  SPEAKER_01: I apologize, guys.
• 17:13
SPEAKER_05: You know, I've been having such a good time talking to you, but I guess we should uh probably start doing what I don't want to do, and that's uh talk about Twin Peaks.
• 17:22
SPEAKER_05: What how do you guys want to start this?
• 17:23
SPEAKER_05: Are we gonna go with Fire Walk With Me, the most logical uh collection of David Lynch's thoughts that ever been put to film, or do you want to start with the insanity that is the return?
• 17:34
SPEAKER_03: Let's do Fire Walk With Me first.
• 17:36
SPEAKER_01: Last time, or like the when I watched Firewalk With Me for the first time, which was also the last time that I watched it before this, I was just like overwhelmed with like just sadness.
• 17:49
SPEAKER_01: I was like, this was like one of the saddest things I've ever watched.
• 17:52
  SPEAKER_01: This was genuinely horrible.
• 17:54
SPEAKER_01: And I thought, well, now that I know the story, maybe it'll be an easier watch.
• 17:59
  SPEAKER_01: Absolutely not.
• 18:00
SPEAKER_01: Still devastating, still very sad, still not a good time.
• 18:05
SPEAKER_03: There's that scene where uh early in the film Laura like sees Bob in her room and runs out and like hides underneath a bush, and then she sees her father walk out of the house, and the just gut-wrenching crying uh that that she experiences is just like it's so horrible.
• 18:26
SPEAKER_03: It's like the most horrible thing ever.
• 18:28
SPEAKER_04: And it it it is, and I I I feel like Firewalk with me was an essential watch because the original series kind of gives them a break, you know, like you don't understand what exactly was going on, and then you realize like how horrific things were in this movie, you know?
• 18:51
SPEAKER_04: So and it and then you and then you realize that Laura understood who Bob was and that there was some weird but but she also was like she was also kind of confused because she was like, Okay, it's Bob, but then wait, is it my dad?
• 19:08
SPEAKER_04: You know, that kind of it it it's it's crazy, and then and then you could tell when Bob would kind of drop in and drop out.
• 19:18
SPEAKER_04: And I I've I felt so bad for Leland.
• 19:21
SPEAKER_04: This man was like when he's Bob, like you know, obviously Bob knows everything, but like when he he allows Leland to kind of like poke it in, it's like amnesia, he doesn't know what happened.
• 19:33
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's a it's a really weird and you we were talking about it a couple weeks ago, or like at the the midway points of season two, um, where Rich, you actually made the the connect the mental connection of um dissociative identity disorder D I D.
• 19:52
SPEAKER_03: And it kind of plays out like that in a little in a in a weird way, even though it's it's not because we know that there are like entities in this in this world that are malevolent.
• 20:05
  SPEAKER_05: But what'd you say?
• 20:06
  SPEAKER_05: Oh, nothing.
• 20:07
SPEAKER_05: I was just asking if you had a light.
• 20:09
  SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, I I I don't I don't have a light.
• 20:12
SPEAKER_04: And then and then also the another reason why I think it was essential is because you see like what kind of like degeneracy that Laura was like partaking in.
• 20:27
SPEAKER_04: And obviously part of it is I mean a lot of it is what was going on in the in the home.
• 20:35
SPEAKER_04: It was like you know, coping with what was going on, and then also like I guess a way of like survival in in in a way it was it's it's kind of crazy.
• 20:45
SPEAKER_03: I saw it as like an escape, you know, like she she right.
• 20:49
SPEAKER_03: She went to like the most extreme place possible.
• 20:53
  SPEAKER_04: 100%, yeah.
• 20:54
SPEAKER_04: And then the actress swap with Donna was a little off-putting.
• 21:01
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I agree.
• 21:02
SPEAKER_01: They just have to like repeatedly say her name to get you to remember that it's Donna.
• 21:08
  SPEAKER_04: It's like who's this person?
• 21:09
SPEAKER_01: And then she's like, Donna, and you're like, oh right, it's Donna.
• 21:12
  SPEAKER_01: Donna Hayward.
• 21:13
SPEAKER_03: It's weird though, because like it's a different hairstyle and everything.
• 21:17
SPEAKER_03: Like it's a completely different looking person.
• 21:19
SPEAKER_03: Like it doesn't look anything like the original actress.
• 21:22
SPEAKER_04: So the the the thing is, is that I feel like if one person could find a way to make something like that work, it would be David Lynch in this type of show.
• 21:34
SPEAKER_04: Like, yeah, no, no, that's that that's Donna.
• 21:37
SPEAKER_04: You know, yeah, yeah, that that's definitely Donna.
• 21:39
  SPEAKER_04: It's a whole other person, but it's Donna.
• 21:42
SPEAKER_04: But it's like in Twin Peaks, something like a crazy just change of person could work.
• 21:49
SPEAKER_04: And honestly, like and he would find a way to make it.
• 21:55
SPEAKER_03: You know, like I I by by the end of the movie, I didn't question that it was Donna.
• 21:58
SPEAKER_03: You know, like I knew that this was Donna.
• 22:00
  SPEAKER_03: Character.
• 22:01
SPEAKER_03: But uh Rich, we haven't we haven't heard much from you.
• 22:04
SPEAKER_03: Um in our text history, uh you mentioned that you were starting to get Twin Peaks, or like you you felt like you were starting to not necessarily enjoy it, but be on board with it during Firewalk with me.
• 22:21
SPEAKER_03: Explain explain your rationale there.
• 22:23
SPEAKER_05: Oh well, first just before I forgot just end this thread there.
• 22:26
SPEAKER_05: Um I didn't care about the Donna Switch because I felt like by like season two, I felt like Laura Flynn Boyle was just like doing a caricature of like Oh, I'm so breathless.
• 22:38
SPEAKER_05: Like she's like breathless uh Mahoney, whatever, in Dick Tracy.
• 22:43
  SPEAKER_05: I just couldn't I couldn't, I couldn't Madonna's character.
• 22:46
SPEAKER_05: Sorry, that's a really just the old reference to um a movie that came out in '93.
• 22:51
SPEAKER_05: But it just it was she just became very more soap opera-ish than I did I liked in the first season.
• 22:58
SPEAKER_05: I thought she was more normal.
• 22:59
SPEAKER_05: So this uh this kind of wise wise cracking uh portrayal was fine with me.
• 23:05
SPEAKER_05: I I would I was uh did not uh I was a little uncomfortable, ladies and gentlemen, did not see the uh the the the roadhouse.
• 23:15
  SPEAKER_05: I I've been alive for a long time.
• 23:17
  SPEAKER_05: That's a wild place.
• 23:20
SPEAKER_05: And and I'm sorry, I don't all the drugs in the world do not make me believe that she would hook up with Jacques Rona Ronald.
• 23:28
SPEAKER_05: Like that like like that like and there's so much I mean there's his like mouth is the grossest.
• 23:38
SPEAKER_01: He's always like his mouth is like so small for his big head, and it's always just like like it pure like pursed in like a really gross way.
• 23:47
SPEAKER_05: Like I know this is not I maybe I'm wrong about this.
• 23:50
SPEAKER_05: I swear that in the return, he's like in it, but like not him.
• 23:56
SPEAKER_05: I'm I'm I'm a little is it is it supposed to be him?
• 23:59
SPEAKER_05: No, I thought he was dead.
• 24:00
SPEAKER_05: Oh he says like it's another brother.
• 24:04
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and a third brother that looks exactly like him.
• 24:07
SPEAKER_03: Because like Leland killed him in the hospital, right?
• 24:09
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he's definitely dead.
• 24:10
SPEAKER_03: So I I don't really I don't remember if there was like any rationale behind it, but like there was.
• 24:17
SPEAKER_01: It was he was on the phone and he's like, This this has been in this bar has been in our family for genera in the Ronal family for generations.
• 24:24
SPEAKER_01: You're supposed to think it's like a relative, kind of like how Laura's cousin is identical to her.
• 24:29
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 24:29
SPEAKER_01: I think this is an additional relative who is identical.
• 24:32
SPEAKER_01: I think David Lynx just like really respects the actors he works with and is like, just bring them back.
• 24:37
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I I think that's ultimately what happened where he just wanted to bring back as many actors as possible.
• 24:42
SPEAKER_03: And yeah, I I guess I guess that would make sense.
• 24:44
SPEAKER_03: They they even bring back characters from Firewalk with me that are fairly minor characters in the return.
• 24:52
SPEAKER_01: Um I love that actor so much.
• 24:58
  SPEAKER_01: I love that guy.
• 24:59
SPEAKER_04: I I don't think we ever like mention that I feel like David Lynch's voice like throws me off.
• 25:06
SPEAKER_04: It's like I don't feel like that voice would come out of the Angelo Battlemente.
• 25:11
  SPEAKER_04: I cannot with him.
• 25:13
SPEAKER_04: Even when he's not speaking loud, that's his normal speaking voice.
• 25:16
SPEAKER_04: It's just when he when he's in his character, it's just louder because he's like his character is deaf.
• 25:21
SPEAKER_01: But that's his like normal speaking voice, and I'm like also like another That's how we actually think about him is like he gives like a lot of his actors like little pet names.
• 25:31
SPEAKER_01: So like Laura Dern, uh her name is Tidbit, so like Tidbit, you're gonna have them running for the bleachers, or I forget what he says.
• 25:42
SPEAKER_01: And like, like um, what's the guy who plays Dale Cooper?
• 25:46
  SPEAKER_01: What's his name again?
• 25:47
  SPEAKER_05: Um Kyle McGaughlin.
• 25:49
SPEAKER_01: Kyle McLaughlin, he calls him Kale.
• 25:51
SPEAKER_01: Like he had like little nicknames for everybody.
• 25:53
SPEAKER_01: He also like brought actors from other films of his.
• 25:56
SPEAKER_01: So he brought Laura Dern, who was in Blue Velvet when she was very young.
• 26:00
SPEAKER_01: He also brought in Naomi Watts, who was in Mahuland Drive.
• 26:04
  SPEAKER_01: True, yeah.
• 26:04
SPEAKER_01: So he was just bringing in actors that he likes.
• 26:07
SPEAKER_01: He's like, I'm David Lynch, and I'm gonna bring in the people that I know I enjoy working with, and that's that.
• 26:12
SPEAKER_03: And he must have really liked Kyle McLaughlin.
• 26:14
  SPEAKER_01: He loved Kyle McLaughlin.
• 26:16
  SPEAKER_03: Three times, I mean.
• 26:16
  SPEAKER_03: Three of them.
• 26:18
  SPEAKER_03: Three of them.
• 26:19
SPEAKER_03: Let's uh let's continue with uh Fire Walk with me and then and then we'll turn it over to the return because that that is a whole other beast.
• 26:26
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but uh definitely different.
• 26:27
SPEAKER_01: Wait, I thought when you said three of them, I thought you were talking about Blue Velvet, Fire Walk With Me, and Dune.
• 26:32
SPEAKER_01: But it's actually just that there's three versions of it.
• 26:36
SPEAKER_01: Yes, and this yeah, that's what I'm saying.
• 26:39
  SPEAKER_03: I don't think so.
• 26:41
SPEAKER_05: Um so I really I mean I thought Firewalk with me, it's just it's laid out so much better.
• 26:49
SPEAKER_05: I'm sorry, look, I I get it, I get it, I get it, I get it, I get it.
• 26:52
SPEAKER_05: I think that you're supposed to watch the first season and then hate yourself, and then you watch you watch and then you get to firewalk with me, and and now you're like, oh my god, everything is revealed, except for one thing that we'll talk about later, and I'm actually legitimately happy to talk about it.
• 27:09
SPEAKER_05: But really, I I just thought that fire uh let's keep that one for later.
• 27:16
SPEAKER_05: All right, uh, all right.
• 27:19
SPEAKER_05: Alright, uh and but the everything look now I get it.
• 27:24
SPEAKER_05: Okay, Bob is real, he's an entity, he's a little he's a literal actual thing that can take over people and make them evil.
• 27:34
SPEAKER_05: I still don't understand why Bob wants to hook up with Jacques Renew, but like and I I just I can't get over the roadhouse.
• 27:41
  SPEAKER_05: I'm sorry.
• 27:45
SPEAKER_03: She's never been taken over by by Jacques Renault.
• 27:48
  SPEAKER_03: No.
• 27:51
SPEAKER_05: I mean I think he's been intimately uh associated.
• 27:54
SPEAKER_05: Uh and also, did she just get angry at Donna for wearing her clothes?
• 28:00
SPEAKER_05: Like she was like, uh my friend's whoring it up and about to uh give herself up in a weird way.
• 28:06
SPEAKER_05: Uh but wait, she's wearing my top?
• 28:08
SPEAKER_01: I think it was like symbolic of like don't put on the roles that I put on in society, not like not like her physical.
• 28:16
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, like don't don't try to be me.
• 28:18
  SPEAKER_03: I think that's what it was.
• 28:19
SPEAKER_01: But it what's what annoys me so much about that scene is like why did Laura even let her get there and you know there's a large deal.
• 28:25
SPEAKER_01: You like let her take drugs and then you get mad at her.
• 28:29
SPEAKER_03: But we we know You know, like what did you think?
• 28:31
SPEAKER_03: She was just gonna sit in the corner while everybody else was naked and dancing, like we've known that um she has destructive tendencies and she wants to corrupt other people.
• 28:42
SPEAKER_03: Well yeah, it's like she corrupted Bobby.
• 28:44
SPEAKER_03: We we know that that is like a uh canonical thing.
• 28:48
SPEAKER_03: Rich Rich is just like It's in Bobby.
• 28:51
SPEAKER_05: Like I it didn't take much to let that let that out of you know, let that horse out of the gate.
• 28:55
  SPEAKER_05: Like, come on.
• 28:56
SPEAKER_03: You know, okay, speaking of horse, you know what actually is pretty like interesting?
• 29:03
SPEAKER_03: Like watching Fire Walk With Me gives us a better read on uh Bobby's reaction to the police investigating him at school in the first episode of Twin Peaks.
• 29:14
SPEAKER_03: Because he's he's acting really suspicious, he's acting really guilty, but he obviously doesn't know that Laura's dead at that point.
• 29:21
SPEAKER_03: But just a couple days earlier, he just shot that that one guy.
• 29:25
SPEAKER_03: Um and it was the cop in the beginning.
• 29:28
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 29:29
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it was a cop, yeah.
• 29:31
  SPEAKER_03: I'm I'm so surprised.
• 29:34
SPEAKER_01: I don't think we noticed that the first time we watched it, and then you're the one who noticed it this time.
• 29:37
  SPEAKER_01: I I don't I genuinely don't think I would have had any idea.
• 29:40
SPEAKER_03: So if you guys want, uh I don't think we need to cover it, but there's there's a thing called uh the missing pieces, and it's it's like a 90 90 minutes of deleted scenes for this movie that flesh out some of like the in-between stuff.
• 29:59
SPEAKER_05: So yeah, like I'm saying, so when you said to when you said that I couldn't watch past episode eight, right?
• 30:09
SPEAKER_05: And you knew that we had 30 inches of Mother Love and Snow dropped on us, you didn't tell me that I could watch this extra bit of information.
• 30:21
  SPEAKER_03: We like forgot.
• 30:22
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we forgot.
• 30:23
  SPEAKER_03: And it's it's it's basically it's it's almost like a whole other movie.
• 30:27
SPEAKER_01: But it does feel like I wish that they like I wonder if somebody online made a version of the stuff.
• 30:32
SPEAKER_01: There is a version online where actually it's because it makes a lot more sense with those scenes too.
• 30:38
SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't think that the movie, like the like the straight up Firewalk with me really explains how what was her name?
• 30:46
  SPEAKER_01: Teresa Banks.
• 30:47
  SPEAKER_03: Teresa Banks, yeah.
• 30:48
SPEAKER_01: Teresa Banks was blackmailing Leland Palmer.
• 30:50
SPEAKER_03: Before Leland Palmer kills her.
• 30:52
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 30:52
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 30:53
SPEAKER_03: It doesn't go into that.
• 30:53
SPEAKER_01: It also doesn't really explore There's like one line in the actual movie that says that, but she was.
• 30:58
SPEAKER_03: Uh Firewalk with Me doesn't explore um David Bowie's character all that much, but The Missing Pieces does.
• 31:04
SPEAKER_01: Um apparently David Bowie thought he was gonna have like a really significant role in the movie, and then he saw it.
• 31:12
  SPEAKER_01: He's just like hallwayman.
• 31:14
  SPEAKER_01: He's hallway man.
• 31:16
  unknown: So weird.
• 31:18
SPEAKER_01: I love I love like both David Lynch and David Bowie.
• 31:21
SPEAKER_01: So this like seeing them work together just brings me a lot of joy.
• 31:25
SPEAKER_03: Uh final thoughts on Firewalk With Me, or if you have anything else to say before we jump into the return.
• 31:32
SPEAKER_03: Uh Anthony, did you did you enjoy Firewalk with me?
• 31:35
SPEAKER_04: Was it just kind of like a necessary evil that you had to sit through, or it it it was definitely a pretty heavy sit-through, but I do think that it was necessary, and it showed, you know, it showed exactly what happened, how Laura got was killed, and it played out everything that was actually told in the seasons.
• 31:58
  SPEAKER_04: Remember?
• 31:59
SPEAKER_04: They were talking about the night that Laura was with um with Leo and Jacques and Um Ronette, and it actually showed everything playing out.
• 32:10
SPEAKER_04: So I I really do think that that was necessary.
• 32:14
SPEAKER_04: Um, but yeah, it it it was it was definitely rough, it was heavy, it's not like you know, that light-hearted, um that light a little bit of that like it doesn't have that light-hearted vibe that the original series has.
• 32:27
SPEAKER_01: So yeah, it was I I did like how it showed how like Jacques Renault said that it was Leo who hit him in the head with a bottle, but then when we see this, it was actually Leland, and then he sneaks around and Leo just walks out, and his friend was gonna head with the bottle, and he's like, bye.
• 32:45
SPEAKER_01: And he runs off, he's just like he grabs his old shoes and runs off.
• 32:49
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he needs some new shoes.
• 32:51
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that was a rough sequence.
• 32:53
SPEAKER_04: Oh, and I think that you get a little bit more of the white lodge in this too, actually.
• 32:57
SPEAKER_04: There's like entities from the White Lodge in this.
• 33:00
  SPEAKER_00: Yes.
• 33:01
  SPEAKER_00: I I do.
• 33:04
SPEAKER_05: Look, as somebody who very often would fall asleep to just like seven episodes of SVU, you know, uh like she's only 16, you sick F you know, like uh just like that, like the guy yelling that stuff over.
• 33:18
  SPEAKER_05: I don't know, man.
• 33:19
SPEAKER_05: Like I I just I feel like this was just a like a really heavy episode where I see gets upset about the guy who does something offensive in the like, you know, like Lelandia, that was your daughter, bro.
• 33:32
  SPEAKER_05: Like I it didn't, I don't know.
• 33:34
  SPEAKER_05: I maybe I'm just like emotionally uh I don't know, stunted.
• 33:40
  SPEAKER_05: Desensitized.
• 33:41
SPEAKER_05: I've watched so much of that SVU stuff that this just was like, oh, this is a logical explanation of everything that occurred.
• 33:50
  SPEAKER_05: Maybe as a m as a monster, I I don't know.
• 33:52
SPEAKER_05: I'm exposing myself as a monster in this podcast when when Laura when Laura's on the grass, like I just I couldn't I couldn't help it.
• 34:01
  SPEAKER_05: I was I started laughing.
• 34:03
SPEAKER_05: Like it was too long.
• 34:04
  SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
• 34:05
  SPEAKER_05: It was very odd.
• 34:07
SPEAKER_05: I uh and then also now see when it's if it was like DID I thought that like that it's sadder, right?
• 34:15
SPEAKER_05: But now it's not sad, it's like this evil demon.
• 34:19
SPEAKER_05: Like it's it's becoming like an episode of charmed and less like you know, when I first watched it, I was like convinced that this was just a mental disorder that Leland had, and he was just using this as an explanation for his terrible behavior with his daughter.
• 34:36
SPEAKER_01: It took like all my willpower not to cut you off and say hi to Chewie.
• 34:39
SPEAKER_01: I was like, Chewy, yeah, no, my I haven't seen Chewie in like years.
• 34:44
SPEAKER_05: My very cute dog is walking by as I'm laughing about a woman being upset about the fact that her dad is possessed by the demon and actually attacking her.
• 34:51
  SPEAKER_03: But yeah, you're a monster, yes.
• 34:53
  SPEAKER_03: You are a monster.
• 34:54
SPEAKER_05: But I I it all I think it all worked.
• 34:56
SPEAKER_05: Uh for me, it worked very well.
• 34:59
SPEAKER_05: And what my favorite thing was is that there weren't scenes of dialogue that seemed like the actors didn't know that they were talking to each other.
• 35:07
SPEAKER_05: But luckily we had uh Twin Peaks to return, and uh boy, boy, uh I felt like Lucy.
• 35:15
SPEAKER_05: Uh I was legitimately scared.
• 35:18
  SPEAKER_01: I didn't I didn't see how phones work.
• 35:21
  SPEAKER_05: There's so much, guys.
• 35:23
SPEAKER_05: I don't even know where to go.
• 35:24
SPEAKER_01: You couldn't grasp how cell phones operate.
• 35:27
SPEAKER_05: When she just straight, like just that that guttural scream, I didn't know why she was screaming.
• 35:34
SPEAKER_05: Like it took me a second to understand.
• 35:37
SPEAKER_05: I thought she had like suddenly gone to the Black Lodge and we didn't understand what was happening.
• 35:41
SPEAKER_05: Like, I didn't it took me a while with before like to really comprehend that she didn't understand cell phones, like to the point where it shocked her every time.
• 35:52
SPEAKER_01: I feel like we need to talk about the most important part of the return that we have seen so far, which is Michael Sarah's scene.
• 36:01
SPEAKER_01: What did you guys think of Michael Sarah's Twin Peaks debut?
• 36:06
  SPEAKER_03: Oh my gosh.
• 36:07
SPEAKER_03: I think it's so funny because they call him um what's his name?
• 36:12
  SPEAKER_03: It's uh something Brando.
• 36:14
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's literally like engraved on his jacket.
• 36:17
  SPEAKER_01: Why can't I remember it?
• 36:19
  SPEAKER_01: It's Wally Brando.
• 36:21
  SPEAKER_03: Well, yeah, Wally.
• 36:23
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's well, he does a Marlon Brando impression.
• 36:26
SPEAKER_03: Uh as as as his character.
• 36:29
SPEAKER_03: This these people, this town, it really means a lot to me.
• 36:33
SPEAKER_03: Uh it's like the worst scalp.
• 36:35
  SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
• 36:35
  SPEAKER_03: I I don't know, I don't know how to speak of Marlon Brando's voice.
• 36:38
  SPEAKER_03: But that was hilarious.
• 36:39
SPEAKER_03: I I love that scene so much just because completely it it kind of just closes the loop of uh Andy and Lucy's child in the stupidest way possible.
• 36:51
SPEAKER_04: And uh I don't know, I feel like Michael Sarah was a good casting for their son because he always plays those like awkward, weird characters, and like that that was exactly what was needed, and he like fit that bill, you know.
• 37:06
  SPEAKER_05: And Rich loved it.
• 37:08
SPEAKER_05: I no, you know what?
• 37:10
SPEAKER_04: The mic ri Rich is celebrating was great.
• 37:13
  SPEAKER_05: I I thought it was great.
• 37:14
SPEAKER_05: I I'm just like I'm flashing to like Hawk, Lucy, and Andy sitting around the table with the evidence, and I don't know if anybody was talking to one another.
• 37:26
SPEAKER_05: Like they they were just saying things in the vacuum, and like Hawk was ignoring or not, like Lucy just seems completely off the deep end and disconnected from reality.
• 37:37
  SPEAKER_05: I don't know what's happening with her.
• 37:39
SPEAKER_05: She seems even loonier than she was earlier.
• 37:42
SPEAKER_05: Uh I uh also like what what happened to so Harry Truman is sick in the show.
• 37:50
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he he didn't make it back to uh record for this, but apparently he like the character was was sick in universe, so this is his brother.
• 38:00
SPEAKER_05: His brother, uh and then he's married to the blonde lady, right?
• 38:06
  SPEAKER_05: Who's kind of crazy?
• 38:08
SPEAKER_03: Just comes in randomly and starts yelling about random stuff.
• 38:10
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that's the one she's another one who for a while I was like, does nobody hear what she's I didn't understand what was happening.
• 38:16
SPEAKER_05: Like she would just say things and they're like, oh yeah, like no big deal, and I didn't understand what was going on with her.
• 38:22
SPEAKER_01: Well, apparently, like her son killed himself, and so she's just like kind of she like kind of spiraled after that.
• 38:29
SPEAKER_05: But that's also the sheriff or constable, I don't know,'s son, right?
• 38:35
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
• 38:35
SPEAKER_01: That but he seems I guess he's just handling it better.
• 38:39
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 38:39
  SPEAKER_01: Connected to reality.
• 38:40
SPEAKER_01: People all react to death differently.
• 38:43
SPEAKER_01: It's not true, but how is that not true?
• 38:48
SPEAKER_01: I mean, you saw that meeting, we all reacted to death quite differently.
• 38:53
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 38:53
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I I did I did miss Harry, and I kind of I did some some like research, and the reason why he he's not there is because he like retired from acting and just didn't have any interest in coming back.
• 39:08
SPEAKER_04: So I mean I respect that, but I definitely miss miss that character because I enjoyed him a lot in the original series.
• 39:15
SPEAKER_03: And there's a lot of actors that did come back.
• 39:17
SPEAKER_03: Like uh Log Lady, uh the actor for Log Lady came back.
• 39:22
SPEAKER_03: She was actually like very sick.
• 39:24
SPEAKER_03: She died like right after she filmed that role.
• 39:28
SPEAKER_03: But uh, it is really it's nice seeing her in that role one more time, I guess.
• 39:35
SPEAKER_03: So it it obviously meant a lot to her to come back to it, just to, you know.
• 39:40
SPEAKER_05: The unraveling of her prediction or her advice to Hawk, which was like, it's going to be something in your you know, related to your heritage.
• 39:51
SPEAKER_05: And I thought it was the caves the entire time.
• 39:53
SPEAKER_05: I'm like, bro, the caves, like just go to your caves, man.
• 39:56
SPEAKER_05: Like, you gotta know about your Kawachi caves or whatever.
• 39:58
SPEAKER_05: I know that's that's from Smallville, but I'm just gonna use the same term.
• 40:01
SPEAKER_05: But then the confluence of events of like he drops a nickel and then like goes into the stall and picks it up, and it's like, I don't Native American nickel?
• 40:10
  SPEAKER_05: I don't I don't know.
• 40:11
SPEAKER_05: And then he like looks to the door and there's like a little tiny insignia, and the the you know, the bathroom stall was made by a company that's like named after a Native American tribe, and then that's how he finds like it's it it's crazy.
• 40:29
SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't what he just had to trust his instincts, his intuition.
• 40:34
SPEAKER_05: I think that Hawk without Harry is a little weird.
• 40:37
SPEAKER_05: Like it's like he became the lead there, and I didn't think that he was I feel like he needed Harry around.
• 40:43
  SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
• 40:44
SPEAKER_05: Uh and Harry's brother didn't seem to kind of fill the role the same way for me.
• 40:48
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I did miss Harry too.
• 40:49
SPEAKER_01: I feel like he's such an important, like he's he's kind of like the most grounded character, like the most normal.
• 40:57
SPEAKER_01: And so I feel like we kind of need him to like make us feel sane.
• 41:02
SPEAKER_01: Because his reactions to stuff I think are like more similar to how the average person would react.
• 41:06
SPEAKER_04: I mean, I I do I do like that that Hawk is back or like he came back for that because I did also also really enjoy his character.
• 41:15
  SPEAKER_04: Bobby.
• 41:16
SPEAKER_04: Bobby Bobby in the in this like series, it it's it's insane because like he he's obviously like an like an older gentleman, but like whenever I see him, I still see like that young kid.
• 41:30
SPEAKER_04: Like he it's like he really he brought that character back, you know, and then whenever he sees something that kind of brings him back to that trauma from from when he was younger, it's like he he he does a really good job of acting out that he feel like he's being brought back to that place, you know?
• 41:49
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and so it like the same facial expressions and everything, it's crazy.
• 41:55
SPEAKER_04: Like it there's some people who like when they age, like they don't look like themselves when they're younger.
• 42:01
SPEAKER_04: Like he looks exactly like himself.
• 42:03
SPEAKER_04: He still has a young face somehow.
• 42:04
SPEAKER_03: It's like even though you see there's wrinkles and then you know his hair is white, he still has a young face and features and everything.
• 42:10
SPEAKER_03: So that I thought that was pretty cool.
• 42:12
SPEAKER_03: Uh Rich, you're still shaking your head.
• 42:14
SPEAKER_03: You you still don't like this guy.
• 42:16
SPEAKER_03: Nah, like you know what?
• 42:17
  SPEAKER_03: It's typical.
• 42:18
SPEAKER_05: Oh, jerky guy from town who gets into trouble and does dumb stuff, ends up being the jerk cop of the small town.
• 42:27
SPEAKER_05: Like, uh like that right, like that that's just typical.
• 42:30
SPEAKER_05: Like, I was just like, when I saw he the jerk cop?
• 42:32
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I thought Chad was the jerk cop.
• 42:34
SPEAKER_05: Well, yeah, Chad's a jerk cop, but I just uh it just it this seemed like the the the life for Bobby.
• 42:40
SPEAKER_05: I was not surprised by Bobby's uh choices okay, you know, in the furling of his life and you know his trauma, whatever, man.
• 42:48
  SPEAKER_05: Like whatever.
• 42:48
SPEAKER_05: You were involved in it too, buddy.
• 42:50
SPEAKER_05: You he shot that dude.
• 42:51
SPEAKER_05: Like he just pulled the trigger for no like like he didn't have to kill that guy in that moment.
• 42:56
SPEAKER_05: Well, I think the guy was pulling out a gun.
• 42:58
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, the guy was pulling a gun on him.
• 43:00
SPEAKER_04: He was literally set there to kill Bobby.
• 43:03
  SPEAKER_04: You realize that, right?
• 43:04
SPEAKER_05: Like, I just feel like he was a little aggressive in a moment that he could have waited.
• 43:06
SPEAKER_03: I you don't wait for the gun.
• 43:08
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he would have waited, he would have been dead because he would have definitely been dead.
• 43:12
  SPEAKER_04: Freaking fun.
• 43:13
SPEAKER_04: You wait for that gun, you're dead, Rich.
• 43:15
SPEAKER_04: I'm just letting you know.
• 43:17
SPEAKER_04: You wait for that gun, you're dead.
• 43:19
SPEAKER_04: As soon as the brandish happens, that's it.
• 43:21
SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah, with with Bobby being a cop, it kind of makes me think a little bit about um that that moment that he had with his dad.
• 43:30
SPEAKER_04: Remember his dad like was thinking that like everything was gonna pan out for him?
• 43:34
SPEAKER_04: And it's like, look, like he's like a cop now.
• 43:36
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he he didn't eventually get that bright future that Major Briggs prophesied he would, basically.
• 43:43
SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, and it and then like this is like another thing is that you know he um part of the a part of some of the mystery is the mystery of Major Briggs' death, which you know, w which is sad sad because I I actually enjoyed that character a lot in the original.
• 44:00
SPEAKER_01: series too but at least I guess he's in in some capacity yeah in some capacity headless in some capacity with an with somebody else's head man that did did I was gone for like a minute or so did you guys you guys didn't talk talk about like the uh the scary opening episode uh in New York no oh my god but that is it's so scary it is so terrifying like uh this is why I don't like if I rewatch Twin Peaks I just re-watch the the first like I just re-watch like the first couple of seasons when I rewatch because the return genuinely frightens me and gives me nightmares and that episode in particular I was I was terrified.
• 44:42
SPEAKER_05: The scene with the glass box specifically and the guy just recording it uh endlessly uh until that that girl comes in and basically like it just attacks them and rips them to shreds yeah that that was crazy yeah that was insane I was so um that's so I you know I have this facial recognition thing so like that actress walks in and I'm like is that the youngest daughter from the nanny uh and then I was like oh this is quite awful like I did not um I can alright can we talk about this can we talk about the building can we talk about the guy can we talk about her can we talk about the guards like what does it all mean why was there that building why were the guards there why was the guy hired why was the girl there is she like what is she just thirsty like is just is is like her plot element like just her thirst for that guy or like is there something more to coffee well she had more than a thirst for coffee she she was just using the coffee to get upstairs.
• 45:42
SPEAKER_03: Right you know we're we're just so funny story Jen and I have seen a little bit past this point but we've never actually finished the return.
• 45:51
SPEAKER_03: So we we have never actually finished the return so we don't know all the answers to things and now we're kind of in the same boat.
• 45:57
SPEAKER_01: So we we we've seen a little bit past this point and we know that some storylines do converge a little bit but really I I get so scared and I start getting nightmares because I'm a big baby.
• 46:08
SPEAKER_01: I don't watch anything horror scary and I love Twin Peaks but the return just is so much scarier to it's a lot more intense for sure.
• 46:17
SPEAKER_01: But um and like literally every time it is I just like I start getting nightmares and I'm like I can't I need a I I'll say like I need a break.
• 46:24
SPEAKER_01: We'll return to this and then we don't return to the return.
• 46:27
SPEAKER_04: So this is kind of holding me so I will say so I will say that I do miss the light moments that the original series has.
• 46:37
SPEAKER_04: Like there's definitely a personal there's a difference in personality between the original series and the the return.
• 46:47
SPEAKER_04: You know obviously you're seeing a lot of similar characters but I don't know if it's because of the limit in technology back then but I I don't think that that's a hundred percent the case also because like there's not there's like there's no like music like nobody really has like their own theme song like they did and they've noticed that too yeah you just have like a lot of craziness that's happening and then when when uh Cooper kind of like leaves the Black Lodge ends up in some TARDIS freaking thing in space with a weird electrical bell looking thing on top of it.
• 47:30
SPEAKER_04: And then he ends up in going through an electrical panel and out a electrical socket.
• 47:36
SPEAKER_04: I'm like what is going on right now?
• 47:38
SPEAKER_04: But there was like there was like three Coopers.
• 47:42
SPEAKER_04: I'm like what in the and it's like the um I guess the OG one that that's completely just he he has amnesia so bad that like he just can't even talk.
• 47:54
  SPEAKER_04: Right.
• 47:55
SPEAKER_04: You know and and then I guess his evil counterpart Mr C.
• 47:59
SPEAKER_03: Yeah so Mr Mr C is the is the evil coop that popped out at the end of Twin Peaks season two who's just been living as Agent Cooper for the past but then he went AWOL and nobody saw him for 25 years.
• 48:14
SPEAKER_05: Also I think that the fact that he's got gloriously like longer hair should not make him the evil Mr C.
• 48:21
SPEAKER_05: Uh I've on a personal note I think I kind of like the hair.
• 48:28
SPEAKER_04: From from my experience I've the the only evil people that I've ever you know encountered had long hair you know and um you know so it really fits and you did just say you're a monster so it works that kind of does fit there you go Anthony your your text situation Rich where's your moose at like crack Dakota showed me your text Anthony where you were like Dakota as an electrician how do you feel about the prospect of getting sucked into an outlet it's an electrical cracks me up yeah because I'm like what is going on this man just it came out of us we were dying laughing at that yeah um as as an electrician I hope you enjoyed my messages from when I watched episode eight I didn't show those but uh yeah no I I I will say that as an electrician that's one of my greatest fears is being sucked into the panel just completely horizontally you know like your feet and then your shoes come off and you're imagining your shoes.
• 49:26
SPEAKER_05: Can I ask a question like when you said that I believed you so it's a jet it's a jest yes oh okay uh so I just have some comments about Coop um so okay oh I don't know how to do this first of all the tree I know the actor's dead but what are we doing here with this weird tree creature I'm just gonna leave that there for a second.
• 49:55
SPEAKER_05: Coop comes back to the world also I don't like the show disliking creamed corn.
• 50:01
SPEAKER_05: Like I like cream corn stop making it something that apparently all evil is represented by the expulsion of cream corn from one's body don't understand that at all and actually that's an interesting point I thank you for bringing that up because the creamed corn was the thing in the first or no season two when Donna shows up at that one place and the old lady said I asked for no creamed corn and then you know the kid had it in his hands.
• 50:34
SPEAKER_03: Yeah so it they they just don't like creamed corn I guess.
• 50:38
SPEAKER_05: David Lynch probably just had a bad dream after like he ate some creamed corn and like now it's like it's an index card.
• 50:45
SPEAKER_05: Never again Coop never again I did like I gotta say this is one of the few things I'm gonna say he like random like there was there are so many times where he says things and then it almost seems like he doesn't hear them but then kind of like there was a point where him and Albert Albert's kind of like my dude like you know what I said and he's like yeah dude right like I was like yes I was like he has been kind of faking this a little bit I so I I I did enjoy that I mean but the the 15 the convenience store got a light I don't know what you guys are doing to me but like that that went off the rails like a bad acid trip like I it and it was silence like there was no talking there's nothing you gave me nothing there was just silence Jen has worked with me for like three years have you ever heard 16 minutes of silence in me in that area never but it wasn't just silence it was just like it was like terrifying music and like rewinding sounds and like explosions and uh the fat the lady the sequins the then the the lurch and then the stars thing it looks like the melancholy and infinite sadness video from uh Smash and Pumpkins at one point where it's like steampunk but not what oh yeah we what would you think about like the the the nine inch nails transition uh music video transition from like because like it started off with uh Mr.
• 52:29
SPEAKER_04: C getting shot and those weird like dirty looking entities coming out of the woods um they're they're called the Woodsmen by the way the the woodsmen okay we okay that well that's aptly named because they literally came out what a terrifying scene too like all of a sudden just like these it was weird yeah they came out of nowhere but it's like you see one earlier like in the hallway like it's like it comes you also in Mauling oh that looks familiar and then all of a sudden nine inch nail starts playing and I'm like okay and then a nuclear explosion happens.
• 53:04
SPEAKER_03: Yeah so that was right up the the nuclear explosion that happens is is actually the the Trinity test the one that you see in Oppenheimer the first nuclear explosion.
• 53:15
SPEAKER_03: So basically the concept is you know how early on uh in in our discussion I I I alluded to the idea that um Stranger Things and Twin Peaks may have similarities in the sense that like science created the evil um or at least brought the evil to the world.
• 53:38
SPEAKER_03: So the idea here is that like the ripping of atoms uh apart that you know creates the nuclear cascade effect the which is the bomb is literally ripping tears in the fabric of reality and other entities from other planes are coming into existence or are being birthed.
• 53:59
SPEAKER_03: We actually see the literal birth of Bob in that episode.
• 54:03
SPEAKER_03: Is that what the like moth frog thing was maybe we we don't have uh we don't have solid answers to that um but the the the theory is let the the the the big theory with fans um and it's never really expressly explained but the moth frog thing that enters the mouth of that young girl like just like Rich is eating it looked like you just ate chapstick yeah it was terrible terrible idea um that girl is rumored to be Sarah uh Sarah Palmer um Laura's Laura's mother oh smokey smokey smokey smoky okay so it's essentially like she's bringing like that's kind of like the birth of evil into this world.
• 54:56
SPEAKER_03: Um I don't know yeah that's what I was wondering too right and I'm not saying we don't necessarily know that the frog is like syphilis like it just goes back and forth uh maybe well we know that Leland wasn't the first inhabitor of Bob um because Leland said that he saw the guy when he was younger when he was when he was a kid like and and they went on like family vacations that's when he first saw Bob so it wasn't like he had Bob forever.
• 55:26
SPEAKER_03: Bob existed before Leland had him but yeah so frog thing we don't really have but it's definitely like a malevolent thing like it's it's it's not a good it's not a good frog I don't think it's kind of like uh Dustin's uh what is it what does he call it in Stranger Things when he when he gets first gets like the the demogorg like the baby demogorgon he's like oh yeah he like loves him and then he's like oh yeah it's probably not a good thing because everything looks cute what what when it's young what what about the um that like whole like convenience store thing that it just kept on flashing like I was watching the band Pokemon episode that featured Porygon it was just like it just kept on I was like it just kept on flashing your heart starts racing like what's going on so interestingly um this also connects to Twin Peaks Fire Walk with me so there's a character do they explain it in Missing Pieces I forget but anyway there there's a character that says um I think it's Bowie's character actually says that they they exist above the convenience store okay so yeah it's in Missing Pieces uh the the the one of the deleted scenes of Fire Walk with me says that um above the convenience store they meet and in that room where we saw the uh the small fella talking to Bob and you know there's other things in there that are just like making weird noises um that's above the convenience store that we see uh play out in episode eight with the green formica table this is a formica table green is its color just okay I have something to say and it's not really uh deep or anything like that but during the big explosion scene my dog was sitting next to me and I don't think I've ever seen her watch TV for that long like typically she'll just kind of stare at the TV in like mild interest and then just lay down but the entire explosion scene she was like sitting up like intently staring at the at the TV and I could just see in her eyes all the explosions and I was like is this awakening something in her Bob Lunar it's Bob in my dog Luna oh god she was just like fascinated and I I was really like I kept like looking over at her like is she okay it is it is considered uh one of the greatest episodes of TV from like an artistic point of view okay yeah I was gonna say like it it has to be like oh a s that's for a specific group of collections.
• 58:12
SPEAKER_03: Correct yes you can't yeah it's definitely not as a collective no definitely as a imagine you know you're you're watching Showtime you're trying to catch the next episode of Twin Peaks and it's just the craziest thing you've ever seen on television.
• 58:29
SPEAKER_03: I kind of respect him you know so we didn't talk about it but uh Twin Peaks the Return was actually supposed to be one big 18 hour film.
• 58:38
SPEAKER_03: That was the original plan for it and it's unlike unlike Twin Peaks where you know a director directs one episode and maybe episode three and then maybe episode eight David Lynch actually directed the entire thing.
• 58:52
SPEAKER_03: So there's no change in directorial vision or written voice because it's also Mark Frost writing as well.
• 58:59
SPEAKER_05: So like it was his choice the entire time to mimic the first three seasons of Charmed um by having a musical guest uh at end every episode do you know what it was like for the first three episodes dudes when I'm sitting there like this watching this musical performance I'm like what's the nuance what's the message I'm supposed to get and then I just realized for the first three nah man it's just the band closing out the damn show and I sat there for three minutes listening to this nonsense when I wanted plot right and I'm just like what am I doing here?
• 59:34
SPEAKER_05: And it was like I at least encharmed like they would be like Sophoe what do you think as the music was going on in the background like they try I was waiting for a transition to a conversation and I sat there like a dark there was I feel like there are two episodes there are two episodes where the musical portion is accompanied with um plot elements.
• 59:56
SPEAKER_03: Yeah yeah no they're the fair but they exist but um generally speaking the none of the episodes have cliffhanger endings because they were never intended to be episodes so he was he filmed a bunch of musical scenes.
• 1:00:13
SPEAKER_04: Those are like transitions yeah he filmed musical scenes as transitions between episodes oh so so like so so it's like we we kind of caught something like that mid episode with the nine inch nails the nine inch nails is like one of those um episode end it would have been one of those episode enders or whatever I guess but yeah no I yeah I I was just like okay like and it was just like different people each time and it was like at the I guess the roadhouse yeah oh and earlier Rich you were saying something about the roadhouse like that you've never seen a bar like that um or or anything like that happen.
• 1:00:52
SPEAKER_03: So I think there's a line in that dialogue that says like when they enter the back room they're entering Canada.
• 1:00:59
SPEAKER_03: So I think it might be a bar right on the the border um between North and uh North Dakota and Canada.
• 1:01:08
SPEAKER_05: I went to school in Buffalo buddy alright I went to I went I went to um quite a number of questionable establishments all right along the New York Canadian border my friend and I will tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt I have never been in quite an establishment um I've been in some seedy places alright I'm not um you know I don't know man like this was coyote ugly but crazy I don't know like but I I don't know man I've never seen like listen man if you and like Donna's just bent over a table like the bartender's like I don't know man like that was crazy that was crazy I've never seen such such depraved behavior like debauchery yes that debauchery belongs in the champagne room maybe behind some curtains like like out in the middle of the bar like I'm trying to get a shot I'd be annoyed by these two people like hooking up this way like get out of my way I'm trying to get drunk give me some more labatics I think if you if you like enter that section of the bar it's kind of like you know that like walled off curtain section of blockbuster like you didn't go there you didn't go there unless you knew what you were after you know um and like it that's not the regular bar that's the weird bar.
• 1:02:29
SPEAKER_04: It is okay okay all right that's the weird blockbuster room I like with Rich like something so inexplicable inexplicable if you can relate it to something he understands he's like oh okay like he just accepts it's just like blockbuster not the not not the curtain I was I was never ready for that so like I go again this uh what if what if you know we didn't really like talk about you know the the whole like you know Coop the real like regular you know the real Cooper taking over Dougie's life right you know Dougie Cooper right yeah so I at this point we don't yeah go ahead I thought it was funny that like this man was just saying one words and writing scribbles and he's just like unlock like blowing people's minds like this whole like ladder he's just like and then and then like I need okay and then also I need I need that that black lodge vision that he had at the slots hello Mr Slot Mr.
• 1:03:31
SPEAKER_04: Jackpots yeah there you go Mr.
• 1:03:34
  SPEAKER_04: Jackpots hello Mr.
• 1:03:39
SPEAKER_03: Jackpots where do I go next oh my god uh I I genuinely find that part so funny we still I'm still a little bit confused at I can understand two Coopers a good and an evil one was you know taken over by uh Bob when they left the lodge it was just evil coop but sometime after that point there was another Cooper that was almost like an empty shell that began to be Dougie um was created who yeah who was created and he had that ring he he was also like a bit of a degenerate himself isn't it Teresa's ring?
• 1:04:22
SPEAKER_05: Yeah and it has like the little like logo from the caves the elk caves yeah yeah also if the spirits didn't come into the world until the nuclear testing then why are there the Kawachi caves?
• 1:04:36
SPEAKER_01: I was wondering that too and I I don't have an answer for you.
• 1:04:39
SPEAKER_05: So um they it's not that they didn't exist because Bob wears denim and I'm sure pretty sure denim like is there's a finite like there's a time period when denim started it was pretty much you know the 40s and 50s yeah um I think is it no it's actually the 1800s yeah wasn't it during the gold rush?
• 1:05:00
SPEAKER_03: True true depth so the I know my denim the creation like the atomic bomb wasn't necessarily the creation of these individuals they existed and uh the Kawachi people the Kawachi uh it's uh I keep thinking I'm confusing smallville and the skill the the Native American uh mythology that whatever whatever Hawk's tribe is um they believe in a white and a and a uh black lodge that goes back they said it's ancient so these these people clearly existed prior to this point malevolent and benevolent spirit entities but certain evils were brought into the world after the Trinity tests in New Mexico.
• 1:05:49
SPEAKER_05: So it's literally like Stranger Things where the the veil was kind of weaker they ripped it essentially they came came through into a convenience store.
• 1:05:57
SPEAKER_04: That's kinda like that that's like the like good Right?
• 1:06:00
SPEAKER_04: That goo area that um like the black lodge is around kind of.
• 1:06:06
SPEAKER_04: That's almost like the veil for for that just oil oily.
• 1:06:12
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they always say it's like burnt oil.
• 1:06:14
SPEAKER_03: Uh like it smells like burnt oil, like fossil fuels.
• 1:06:20
SPEAKER_03: So you were talking about the three the three coops, I'll call them.
• 1:06:24
  SPEAKER_03: Right, yeah.
• 1:06:24
SPEAKER_03: So we at least Jen and I don't yet have an answer as to why there was more than two.
• 1:06:32
SPEAKER_03: Because we can understand uh the the you know, Annie told Laura that the good coop is in the lodge, you know, and he was there for twenty-five years, it seems until he comes out and inhabits Dougie's body.
• 1:06:44
SPEAKER_03: We don't really understand what Dougie's doing there besides the fact that he was created.
• 1:06:51
  SPEAKER_03: Do they explain it?
• 1:06:52
  SPEAKER_03: Not that I don't know.
• 1:06:53
SPEAKER_03: Not that, not that at this point in the story, it almost seems like alright.
• 1:06:58
SPEAKER_05: They said that like what was it, like November 3rd.
• 1:07:01
SPEAKER_05: I there was a sp very specific time and date that the idea was that good coop or coop was going to switch places with bad coop.
• 1:07:12
  SPEAKER_05: Right?
• 1:07:12
SPEAKER_05: And then that never happens because they they I think because of the existence of W.
• 1:07:18
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, they mention a time like they're I think they're like it's coming soon, and it's like uh Mr.
• 1:07:25
  SPEAKER_05: C knows that it's coming.
• 1:07:27
SPEAKER_01: And so he like gets out of it.
• 1:07:29
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, when it happens, it's like then freaking uh, you know, D bag Dougie takes over.
• 1:07:35
SPEAKER_05: Like he gets swapped in, but then it's like he's discovered to be fake because he just his head is like, doesn't he like just evaporate or explode?
• 1:07:43
SPEAKER_05: Or when he's in the red when he's in the black lodge, like they're like, you're not the Mike, the one-armed man, whatever, it's like and then Dougie's head just goes and like away.
• 1:07:56
SPEAKER_01: And his whole like body like deflates.
• 1:07:58
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:07:58
  SPEAKER_01: Like a balloon.
• 1:07:59
SPEAKER_03: I I wonder if if um if Bob created Dougie so that he could get a get out of that um swap.
• 1:08:10
SPEAKER_01: To have like an alternate?
• 1:08:11
SPEAKER_03: To have an alternate, yeah.
• 1:08:13
SPEAKER_05: Like a doppelganger, a doppelganger squared, cubed?
• 1:08:17
SPEAKER_03: Uh humun uh homunculus of a doppelganger.
• 1:08:20
  SPEAKER_03: How about that?
• 1:08:21
  SPEAKER_01: What a word.
• 1:08:22
  SPEAKER_01: What a word.
• 1:08:23
SPEAKER_04: Not a fan of that one.
• 1:08:24
SPEAKER_01: Can we talk about Jade and he cloned can we talk about Jade and how like she had a client who clearly had a stroke and then she just like gives him five dollars and sends him to the casino?
• 1:08:35
SPEAKER_05: Everybody in his you know what?
• 1:08:37
  SPEAKER_05: Jade, I'm sorry, is a professional, and I don't blame her.
• 1:08:41
  SPEAKER_05: Um I don't blame her either.
• 1:08:43
SPEAKER_01: Like in all, she's actually very nice to Dougie, like she could have just left until she feels bad for him.
• 1:08:49
SPEAKER_05: If one of my Johns goes crazy, I'm not gonna go bring him back, you know, like that.
• 1:08:53
SPEAKER_05: But like what I don't understand is his the star power in this series, by the way, is crazy.
• 1:09:01
SPEAKER_05: But also, like I'm just I'm his wife the cop, like everybody, every freaking person, the the the casino owner, the limo driver, every single person is culpable.
• 1:09:16
SPEAKER_05: Like, if you if that if if Dougie if Coop comes into a school building and that many people ignored the signs, we would be in cuffs.
• 1:09:26
SPEAKER_05: We would we are mandated reporters, we would be taken away, but nobody in his world, his son likes him more because he's broken.
• 1:09:38
  SPEAKER_03: Sonny Jim.
• 1:09:39
  SPEAKER_02: Sonny Jim.
• 1:09:42
  SPEAKER_03: Oh my gosh.
• 1:09:43
SPEAKER_03: My favorite my favorite line in this I laugh every time uh is when Dougie goes.
• 1:09:50
  SPEAKER_03: Jade gives two rides.
• 1:09:54
  SPEAKER_05: I bet she does.
• 1:09:55
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I bet she does.
• 1:09:56
SPEAKER_05: And she just freakes I'm just so stupid.
• 1:10:00
SPEAKER_05: Like everybody in his life.
• 1:10:02
SPEAKER_04: She she she fell in love all over again when she when that shirt came off at the doctor's.
• 1:10:08
SPEAKER_04: She's like, oh, you lost some weight, huh?
• 1:10:10
SPEAKER_04: Also the bag of money.
• 1:10:12
SPEAKER_01: Bag of money didn't hurt.
• 1:10:14
SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah, the money, like, you know, he he um you know, he he's like fit now.
• 1:10:19
SPEAKER_04: Like I was actually, I was like, dang, okay, Kyle's actually looking fit for real though.
• 1:10:23
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's a pretty aracheous dude.
• 1:10:25
SPEAKER_03: Can can we just I want to mention like how scary uh Mr.
• 1:10:30
SPEAKER_03: C is like the evil coop.
• 1:10:33
SPEAKER_03: Like there's something he did to his face or the eyes, and it's just like an entirely different person.
• 1:10:40
SPEAKER_03: It's an entirely different role.
• 1:10:42
  SPEAKER_03: It's the weirdest thing.
• 1:10:44
SPEAKER_04: And it's crazy because Kyle is playing that role also, so it's like he's playing he's he's he's playing like just several characters.
• 1:10:52
SPEAKER_04: I mean, this man is like killing it.
• 1:10:54
SPEAKER_04: This show, like I like we're watching this show.
• 1:10:58
SPEAKER_04: This show literally has like just dozens of like just actors that like I've seen in several just out of nowhere in small roles, yeah.
• 1:11:07
SPEAKER_03: Amanda Sayfried, one of them.
• 1:11:10
  SPEAKER_01: She's awesome, right?
• 1:11:12
  SPEAKER_05: What's wrong, Rich?
• 1:11:13
SPEAKER_05: Uh her character just like annoyed me, like bad decision central.
• 1:11:17
SPEAKER_05: And she's like, oh, the drags of the drop top.
• 1:11:22
SPEAKER_05: I just um but did it really well.
• 1:11:25
SPEAKER_05: Like she did it well.
• 1:11:26
  SPEAKER_05: I I was surprised.
• 1:11:28
SPEAKER_05: I was but I was surprised by the star power.
• 1:11:31
  SPEAKER_05: I still don't understand how.
• 1:11:33
SPEAKER_05: Like, look, man, the Dougie stuff could be like or like Coop stuff could be funny for like you know half an episode, but like at some point someone doesn't notice how broken he like the guy's like no loitering, and he's just sitting like like no making a gun, stop reaching for my gun.
• 1:11:50
SPEAKER_05: Like, nope, nope, like and everyone just like coddles his ass, and like nothing is wrong with this.
• 1:11:56
SPEAKER_05: Like, it is I'm sorry, like serious red flags for anybody who who works in like numerous professions, and like it's cops, it's like doctor, like there's so many people that like just don't address the fact that he's not well, and she's like, Oh, now I gotta go do this drop off for the money.
• 1:12:18
SPEAKER_05: Guess we can't bring you to the doctor, even though you're kind of brain dead.
• 1:12:23
  SPEAKER_05: Like, it's just what I I loved it.
• 1:12:28
SPEAKER_04: I loved it when he brought those reports to his boss, and he's like, What am I supposed to do with this gibberish?
• 1:12:34
SPEAKER_04: And he's just like reading over it, and it's just like, oh, wait a second.
• 1:12:38
SPEAKER_04: It's all like essentially that started all making sense.
• 1:12:42
SPEAKER_04: But at the end of the day, it was literally still just like shibberish.
• 1:12:47
SPEAKER_03: And he's like, You did all this.
• 1:12:49
  SPEAKER_03: Thank you, Dougie.
• 1:12:53
SPEAKER_05: I'm his co-worker just like I'm his co-worker who's like, what are you talking about?
• 1:12:57
SPEAKER_05: Like, I'm the angry guy in the office, like watching.
• 1:13:00
SPEAKER_05: Like, what are you talking about?
• 1:13:03
SPEAKER_05: I'm Frank Rhimes, like from that Simpsons episode, alright?
• 1:13:06
  SPEAKER_05: Like, I just I I get it.
• 1:13:07
SPEAKER_03: Like, I didn't I'm just I really like Naomi Watson this though.
• 1:13:13
SPEAKER_01: Uh I like your little angry Tom Sizemore.
• 1:13:17
  SPEAKER_03: What did you ask?
• 1:13:18
SPEAKER_03: What did you say, Anthony?
• 1:13:19
SPEAKER_04: So Tom Sizemore also that like he's the kind of bad guy in uh in the office.
• 1:13:27
  SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
• 1:13:27
SPEAKER_03: Oh, sorry, sorry, yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 1:13:29
  SPEAKER_03: He's he's in there too.
• 1:13:30
SPEAKER_01: I would love to like meet one of the celebrities from the show because there's just so many of them, and then say, like, I loved you in Twin Peaks the Return.
• 1:13:39
SPEAKER_01: But they're like an Oscar winner, so you know what I mean.
• 1:13:41
SPEAKER_01: Like, man, I loved you in Twin Peaks the Return.
• 1:13:43
SPEAKER_01: And they had like Michael Sarah.
• 1:13:45
SPEAKER_01: Like, if I ever meet Michael Sarah, that's gonna be my go-to line.
• 1:13:48
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, not not super bad.
• 1:13:50
SPEAKER_01: No, none of the usual suspects.
• 1:13:52
SPEAKER_01: I loved you in Twin Peaks the Ratchet.
• 1:13:55
  SPEAKER_01: Like Amanda Seyfried, superstar.
• 1:13:58
SPEAKER_01: I loved you in Twin Peaks the Raton.
• 1:14:00
SPEAKER_01: You were great, thank you.
• 1:14:02
SPEAKER_04: I would say it's like not mean girls.
• 1:14:04
SPEAKER_05: Nope, no, it's Twin Peaks.
• 1:14:06
SPEAKER_05: I would say I know that's something some people will refer to you as Captain uh General Holdo, but personally, you will always be my Diane.
• 1:14:17
SPEAKER_05: Guys finally finally got Diane on the page.
• 1:14:23
  SPEAKER_05: I'm too happy, guys.
• 1:14:24
SPEAKER_05: Like, it's the only thing that made me really freaking happy, alright?
• 1:14:28
SPEAKER_05: Like, I was sitting there and then Albert's like, Diane.
• 1:14:33
  SPEAKER_05: Oh my goodness.
• 1:14:35
SPEAKER_05: I thought that I was never gonna find out who she was.
• 1:14:39
  SPEAKER_05: She's a real person, guys.
• 1:14:41
  SPEAKER_05: Like she existed.
• 1:14:43
SPEAKER_05: Oh, that was honestly for me the best moment.
• 1:14:47
  SPEAKER_05: It's all coming together.
• 1:14:48
  SPEAKER_05: It's all coming together.
• 1:14:49
  SPEAKER_05: It's the best moment.
• 1:14:49
SPEAKER_05: It's the it's the honestly the best moment.
• 1:14:51
SPEAKER_05: Like, other than like, yeah, in the return so far, you know, I'm sure we're only gonna watch what 37 seconds of like the next three episodes, and then they call it a day.
• 1:15:03
SPEAKER_05: Are we are we allowed to could to finish the series?
• 1:15:06
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, what's the end game?
• 1:15:07
  SPEAKER_01: We're allowed, yeah.
• 1:15:08
  SPEAKER_01: That's just it.
• 1:15:09
SPEAKER_01: We're just gonna watch it all tonight.
• 1:15:10
SPEAKER_03: You you can even watch the missing pieces.
• 1:15:13
  SPEAKER_03: A week too.
• 1:15:14
  SPEAKER_04: A week too.
• 1:15:15
SPEAKER_03: Um oh did you did you catch um in uh in the flashback to like the 50s, the the young boy that that says, Can I give you a kiss?
• 1:15:27
SPEAKER_03: Is uh Zolo uh Maraduena from Cobra Kai.
• 1:15:33
  unknown: Oh my goodness.
• 1:15:34
  SPEAKER_03: And Blue Beetle.
• 1:15:35
  unknown: No way!
• 1:15:36
SPEAKER_04: It's that really Oh really?
• 1:15:37
  SPEAKER_04: No, I didn't care.
• 1:15:40
  SPEAKER_03: It's a young him.
• 1:15:41
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, if you ever meet him, I would just say I I I like that my boy came back um and that he we get a little bit more of him.
• 1:15:49
  SPEAKER_04: Uh Albert.
• 1:15:50
  SPEAKER_03: I I like Albert.
• 1:15:51
SPEAKER_03: I like Albert, yeah, yeah.
• 1:15:53
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 1:15:53
  SPEAKER_04: I don't I don't know.
• 1:15:54
  SPEAKER_04: I I just I I liked Albert's character.
• 1:15:56
SPEAKER_04: Like I like the the sarcasm, the little quips that he'll he'll put out there.
• 1:16:01
SPEAKER_04: Um and but like he definitely has a a like he has a more prominent role in this one for sure.
• 1:16:09
  SPEAKER_03: Yes, yeah.
• 1:16:10
SPEAKER_03: Uh because there's a a much what's interesting is that we're only getting snippets of what's going on in Twin Peaks right now, which is kind of frustrating for me, and that's probably the most frustrating thing about this, is that so little of at least the first half of this season happens in Twin Peaks.
• 1:16:26
SPEAKER_03: But sometimes the world is just too big for a small town, Dakota.
• 1:16:31
  SPEAKER_03: I know, and that's the issue.
• 1:16:32
SPEAKER_03: Like, I I wish they would just confine all of this to Twin Peaks, but they they they made it.
• 1:16:38
SPEAKER_01: I think the whole like blue rose arc is showing that like weird stuff is happening everywhere, but there's just a high concentration in in Twin Peaks.
• 1:16:46
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 1:16:47
SPEAKER_01: Like this isn't this isn't relegated to this one place, like some of these weird things are happening.
• 1:16:52
SPEAKER_01: We didn't even talk about the principal of the school.
• 1:16:55
  SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
• 1:16:55
SPEAKER_03: We we didn't talk about the principal.
• 1:16:58
SPEAKER_01: Um the one that like he was having an affair, and then the chick got beheaded and like her body replaced with a man's body.
• 1:17:07
SPEAKER_04: Um Matthew Lillard, yes, Matthew Lillard.
• 1:17:10
SPEAKER_03: Uh he'll always be shaggy to me.
• 1:17:12
SPEAKER_05: I love Doom Twin Peaks.
• 1:17:14
  SPEAKER_05: So random.
• 1:17:15
SPEAKER_05: I mean, like, and now that's not we don't know it.
• 1:17:19
SPEAKER_03: They do go back to that storyline.
• 1:17:21
SPEAKER_05: Um so it does seem it's like a bob thing or something that we're gonna see later or something.
• 1:17:27
SPEAKER_03: We yeah, I don't really remember exactly how it worked out, but the the head that's caught off is the head of the the person that he was sleeping with.
• 1:17:38
SPEAKER_03: I think it was like the librarian at the school.
• 1:17:39
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 1:17:40
SPEAKER_03: Um but the body the body was Major Briggs.
• 1:17:47
SPEAKER_03: That that's the weird that's like the weirdest thing.
• 1:17:49
SPEAKER_05: But it's like the old, but it's the it's young Major Briggs.
• 1:17:52
  SPEAKER_05: It's like his body hasn't aged.
• 1:17:54
SPEAKER_05: Like in like 20 five 20 years or something like that, yeah.
• 1:17:57
SPEAKER_01: Or like previously they had seen friends places.
• 1:17:59
  SPEAKER_04: It hadn't been preserved.
• 1:18:01
SPEAKER_03: Unless unless it was, you know, not in the real world, because he disappeared I think he disappeared.
• 1:18:07
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:18:08
SPEAKER_01: And like we know that the white lodge and the black lodge are separate from our time because we see the characters kind of intermingling at different stages.
• 1:18:18
SPEAKER_01: Like, like Coop talks to Laura while she's still alive, but at that point for him, she's already dead.
• 1:18:25
SPEAKER_01: So like we know that time doesn't work at all, adjacent, like it's not linear at all.
• 1:18:30
SPEAKER_01: Like you can just enter at different points and leave at different points.
• 1:18:33
  SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
• 1:18:35
  SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm I'm assuming that that's when they interact.
• 1:18:38
SPEAKER_05: I'm assuming that would have been the age of what he was and well can that can that be manipulated as time travel, or is it just like square?
• 1:18:47
  SPEAKER_03: Probably, yeah, probably.
• 1:18:50
SPEAKER_03: Um, if if you would if you knew how to do it.
• 1:18:53
SPEAKER_05: If you talk to the arm or the tree or the I don't know.
• 1:18:57
SPEAKER_05: One thing that I uh like this is completely different for honestly, F you all with the tree.
• 1:19:02
SPEAKER_05: Like when I saw the tree, honestly, like that was maybe the single angriest moment I had felt like at all.
• 1:19:11
SPEAKER_05: Like I was like, what?
• 1:19:12
SPEAKER_05: It's like I and I was like, wait, are they just replacing the dead little person with a glowing brain tree?
• 1:19:24
SPEAKER_05: And then there's an evil version of it later?
• 1:19:27
SPEAKER_05: Like, is that his twin?
• 1:19:28
SPEAKER_05: Is what like I don't like how is there an eviler version of a thing that's in the Black Lodge?
• 1:19:34
  SPEAKER_01: I don't I don't know.
• 1:19:35
SPEAKER_03: You just you're gonna have to rewatch it because you you clearly missed something, but do so after you've completed the series, and then it'll all make sense.
• 1:19:43
SPEAKER_01: It'll all come together really in the end.
• 1:19:46
SPEAKER_01: Wait, can I make my point really quick?
• 1:19:48
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's like a side note um and not super important, but I thought it was cool.
• 1:19:52
SPEAKER_01: What I love about Diane's character is that we expect her based on like the only things we've heard was Coop interacting with her and not her responses at all.
• 1:20:02
SPEAKER_01: So we're expecting this like really helpful, really polite, like you know, diligent worker who like sends him his earplugs the same day, and then like we meet her, and she's really crass and tells basically everyone to go F themselves.
• 1:20:16
SPEAKER_01: And I love that for her.
• 1:20:18
SPEAKER_01: And like I love the idea of like if if that was her personality, you know, in the original Twin Peaks, when Dale's sending her, like, you know, and you've gotta see these trees and blah blah blah, and she's just like F this man, like I hate this.
• 1:20:31
SPEAKER_03: Uh we uh Anthony at the end of last episode you used a very specific word, you said uh shovel, and I said, actually, shovels are kind of important.
• 1:20:40
SPEAKER_03: What what are our thoughts on the golden shovels?
• 1:20:43
SPEAKER_03: You know, dig yourself out of the shit.
• 1:20:47
SPEAKER_04: Bro, Jerry what was it?
• 1:20:50
SPEAKER_04: No, that no, it wasn't Jerry.
• 1:20:52
SPEAKER_04: Um it was uh what what's his name?
• 1:20:56
  SPEAKER_04: The uh Dr.
• 1:20:58
  SPEAKER_05: The Doc.
• 1:20:59
  SPEAKER_05: It's golden Doc.
• 1:21:00
  SPEAKER_05: The psychologist.
• 1:21:02
SPEAKER_04: Yeah, like like he he's like some like this conspiracy theorist now.
• 1:21:08
  SPEAKER_03: He's a podcaster.
• 1:21:09
  SPEAKER_01: He's just like us.
• 1:21:10
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 1:21:11
  SPEAKER_04: He's a podcaster now.
• 1:21:13
  SPEAKER_04: He's just like us.
• 1:21:14
SPEAKER_04: Oh I like Jerry is just like extra cooked this season.
• 1:21:22
SPEAKER_04: Ben is trying to like keep it low-key, but like it's still like it's so crazy.
• 1:21:27
SPEAKER_04: Like he it still very much so feels like his character.
• 1:21:29
SPEAKER_04: Like he's like like it's like he like fought like everybody like slotted back into those roles exactly like how they were back.
• 1:21:38
SPEAKER_03: Or how they would naturally fit 25 years from now.
• 1:21:41
  SPEAKER_03: I think it's I think they did a really good job.
• 1:21:43
SPEAKER_03: Um, just just the concept itself, um, because you know, the the whole uh you'll see me in 25 years that Laura says was not meant to be literal like they were gonna bring the show back in 25 years, but they turned it into that.
• 1:22:00
SPEAKER_03: You know, they they made it a literal 25 years for Cooper to show back up into the world and um, you know, for them to finish whatever story they were gonna tell, basically.
• 1:22:11
SPEAKER_03: So I'm I'm I think it's a really cool concept of like bringing all these characters back, seeing where they are 25 years later.
• 1:22:20
SPEAKER_03: Um Nadine is still just crazy and just she loves she loves the podcast uh that this guy puts on.
• 1:22:28
  SPEAKER_03: Dr.
• 1:22:29
  SPEAKER_03: Jacoby.
• 1:22:29
  SPEAKER_03: That's what's his name.
• 1:22:30
SPEAKER_03: That's what his name is.
• 1:22:30
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, that was gonna bother me.
• 1:22:32
SPEAKER_01: Oh, I have another like point that I wanted to make.
• 1:22:35
  SPEAKER_01: Hit it.
• 1:22:35
SPEAKER_01: Did I cut you off?
• 1:22:36
  SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry.
• 1:22:36
  SPEAKER_03: No, no, I'm just I I that's basically my point.
• 1:22:40
SPEAKER_03: Just that I I really um appreciate, you know, like you can see where these characters are going, what their hobbies are.
• 1:22:46
SPEAKER_03: You can kind of tell that Jerry's kind of a uh a l kind of a drugie or is susceptible to that kind of like science.
• 1:22:56
SPEAKER_05: I would I would classify him as an explorer.
• 1:22:59
SPEAKER_05: He explores ideas and different and the wilderness and and wilderness and substances and substances.
• 1:23:05
  SPEAKER_05: He explores substances.
• 1:23:06
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, he just he takes part in the world.
• 1:23:08
SPEAKER_05: I don't think we need to, you know, be negative about his uh yeah, drug use is a harsh word, wasn't it?
• 1:23:16
  SPEAKER_01: He's a bit of a drugie.
• 1:23:17
  SPEAKER_01: Sorry, he's taking psychedelics.
• 1:23:19
SPEAKER_05: He's taking Avatar and then like watch Zootopia for 20 minutes before he realized he was in the wrong movie.
• 1:23:27
SPEAKER_05: You know, he's not like that kind of person.
• 1:23:29
SPEAKER_04: The man literally screamed on the phone that he was hot.
• 1:23:31
SPEAKER_03: I think he would have he definitely would have like shown up to the wrong movie and sat for 15 minutes.
• 1:23:36
SPEAKER_03: Anyway, I'm sorry, you you you had another point that you wanted to make.
• 1:23:39
SPEAKER_01: Oh, so um one thing that I thought was kind of cool was uh that David Lynch hired Ashley Judd, and like Ashley Judd was one of the like first actresses to come out against Harvey Weinstein in the Me Too movement, where she was like actually blacklisted from Hollywood.
• 1:23:57
SPEAKER_01: Like if like if you watch like older movies from like the earlier 90s, like you were seeing Ashley Judd everywhere, and then she just disappears, and it's because Harvey Weinstein was making advances towards her and she declined them, and then basically she got completely blacklisted.
• 1:24:11
SPEAKER_01: And like Peter Jackson and other directors were like, Yeah, we were told directly by Harvey Weinstein do not hire her, and we didn't know why, but that was the reason.
• 1:24:20
SPEAKER_01: And so, like, this came out in 2017, and that was before she spoke out against Harvey Weinstein.
• 1:24:26
SPEAKER_01: She didn't have she hadn't said anything, she hadn't cleared her name or anything.
• 1:24:31
SPEAKER_01: She was still blacklisted in Hollywood, and David Lynch is like, I like her, I'm gonna hire her anyway.
• 1:24:36
SPEAKER_01: And he just brought her in.
• 1:24:38
SPEAKER_01: Like, that's like the first time people had seen her in a while, and nobody really knew why at that point.
• 1:24:43
SPEAKER_01: So it wasn't even if he would have hired her like after, it's like, oh, like, yeah, I guess that's you know, like, nice that you're getting publicity for hiring somebody that's in the Me Too movement.
• 1:24:52
SPEAKER_01: It was like he was doing it before it was even a thing.
• 1:24:55
SPEAKER_01: He just was like, I'm not blacklisting her, I'm gonna have her in.
• 1:24:58
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he seems to kind of go against the grain in on in many fronts, um, for sure.
• 1:25:05
SPEAKER_03: But like even the character Denise, like we we spoke about last week, was it last week?
• 1:25:12
SPEAKER_03: I think it was last week.
• 1:25:12
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Denise being uh like kind of not necessarily a trans character, but trans-adjacent character, and in this one, um I think it's full-on trans at this point.
• 1:25:26
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they refer to her as a she.
• 1:25:28
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 1:25:28
  SPEAKER_03: She where is she?
• 1:25:30
SPEAKER_03: How long is she gonna keep me waiting for this meeting?
• 1:25:33
SPEAKER_03: There's a great line from David Lynch in that where you know, like he's talking about like, you know, back then I I told them to fix your hearts or die.
• 1:25:41
SPEAKER_03: Like it's so it's so David Lynch that but I I kind of like the idea of him just kind of being an advocate for life, just in general, you know.
• 1:25:51
  SPEAKER_01: Before it was cool.
• 1:25:52
SPEAKER_01: Before it was cool, before anybody else was doing again 2017.
• 1:25:56
SPEAKER_03: That really wasn't a big thing at that point.
• 1:25:58
SPEAKER_03: It was it was bigger than it was in the early 90s, but you know, it was it was it wasn't public, it wasn't a publicized thing, yeah.
• 1:26:04
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but anyway.
• 1:26:06
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 1:26:06
SPEAKER_01: I thought it was I thought that was cool.
• 1:26:08
SPEAKER_01: He was just like he was just like doing his thing.
• 1:26:11
SPEAKER_01: He didn't care if it was popular, he was like, I'll hire blacklisted people, yeah, I'll talk about you know the rights of minority groups or not minority groups, yeah.
• 1:26:20
SPEAKER_01: You know what I'm saying?
• 1:26:21
SPEAKER_01: Like he's like, I'll just talk about this and I don't care how you all feel, like this is what I'm saying.
• 1:26:26
SPEAKER_01: Crazy guy, never trying to be popular, just a surrealist artist, just making soap operas and horrors.
• 1:26:34
  SPEAKER_03: True surrealism.
• 1:26:35
SPEAKER_03: Is this the the furthest you've gone into like surrealism art, Rich?
• 1:26:40
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:26:42
SPEAKER_05: I'm not I'm a logical analytical guy, and this this is like Emily Dickinson's poetry, right?
• 1:26:50
SPEAKER_05: Like there's there's lay there's layers that you could argue are there, and then other people could be like, no, they're not there, right?
• 1:26:59
SPEAKER_05: Like it's it's like so subjective that it drives me mad, right?
• 1:27:04
SPEAKER_03: Uh right, it it is it is very subjective.
• 1:27:07
SPEAKER_03: Like everything in it is well, I interpret it this way, you know?
• 1:27:12
SPEAKER_03: So yeah, I I feel I feel your anger there.
• 1:27:15
SPEAKER_05: Uh can I ask uh a question?
• 1:27:17
SPEAKER_05: I I know that we live in a communist regime here uh in the podcast.
• 1:27:22
SPEAKER_05: Uh are we gonna finish the season next week?
• 1:27:26
SPEAKER_03: I think we answered that already.
• 1:27:27
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, I think I think we're going to finish Twin Peaks.
• 1:27:31
SPEAKER_05: Could we watch maybe just to episode 18 and then like do 20, 21, 22 the week after?
• 1:27:37
SPEAKER_03: Uh you could try, but there are only 18 episodes.
• 1:27:40
SPEAKER_05: Well, then I'm again foiled by my math bad math skills.
• 1:27:45
SPEAKER_05: I would rather not expand on that.
• 1:27:49
  SPEAKER_05: I think 22 episodes.
• 1:27:51
SPEAKER_04: The rest of the episodes it it can be that that other information.
• 1:27:55
  SPEAKER_04: What was it?
• 1:27:56
  SPEAKER_04: The the pieces.
• 1:27:57
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, missing pieces, yeah.
• 1:27:58
  SPEAKER_04: The the missing pieces.
• 1:28:00
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
• 1:28:01
SPEAKER_04: That could be an extra episode.
• 1:28:02
SPEAKER_03: Yes, you can you can catch up on there's actually a lot more lore in Missing Pieces that kind of bridges things together a little bit better.
• 1:28:12
SPEAKER_03: And it it's basically like deleted scenes from Firewalk with Me and alternate takes from Firewalk with Me that kind of just expand on what that story was and uh does a little bit more with the Keyf uh the Key for Sutherland uh storyline and interesting stuff, guys.
• 1:28:29
SPEAKER_03: Anthony, I I didn't ask you, is this is this the furthest you've gone into surrealism?
• 1:28:34
SPEAKER_04: I mean, I I feel like I've seen some stuff before that I'm like, what's going on?
• 1:28:39
SPEAKER_04: But like I think that this is the longest that I've partaken.
• 1:28:42
  SPEAKER_04: Okay, yeah.
• 1:28:43
SPEAKER_04: Or uh that I've like been in it.
• 1:28:45
  SPEAKER_04: Right.
• 1:28:45
  SPEAKER_04: You know?
• 1:28:46
  SPEAKER_04: Usually it's like I like I'll I'll like dip a dip a toe in and then like I'll I'll step out.
• 1:28:53
SPEAKER_04: But like now I've I've just been in and submerged.
• 1:28:56
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 1:28:57
  SPEAKER_03: You're in it.
• 1:28:57
SPEAKER_05: He's like Achilles and the uh Fire Sticks.
• 1:29:01
  SPEAKER_03: The Amazon Fire Sticks.
• 1:29:03
  SPEAKER_05: Yes.
• 1:29:06
SPEAKER_03: Um let's uh let's bring this to a close.
• 1:29:10
SPEAKER_03: Rich, thoughts on the first half, we'll call it half, of Twin Peaks The Return.
• 1:29:17
SPEAKER_03: Gut reaction is is okay.
• 1:29:19
SPEAKER_03: You don't have to go crazy, but yeah.
• 1:29:21
SPEAKER_05: It's almost mean that I watched Firewalk with me, which helped me understand everything in a much more like in a way that makes more sense to me, and then I put on this thing, and I don't know.
• 1:29:36
SPEAKER_05: Uh I there's so much to digest.
• 1:29:39
SPEAKER_05: I we're only halfway through, but uh that eighth episode was I don't know, man.
• 1:29:48
  SPEAKER_05: I don't I don't know where we're going.
• 1:29:50
SPEAKER_05: I I I it's a lot, and I'm kind of excited to see the end, but also scared.
• 1:30:01
SPEAKER_05: I'm scared as as to how much more I'm gonna be confused.
• 1:30:04
  SPEAKER_03: Okay, Anthony?
• 1:30:06
SPEAKER_04: It it it's definitely interesting uh because of how fresh I am off of the original series.
• 1:30:14
SPEAKER_04: I was coming in I was trying to come in the same way, but like you can't come in the same way.
• 1:30:23
  SPEAKER_04: It's a different show, yeah.
• 1:30:25
  SPEAKER_04: Right.
• 1:30:26
SPEAKER_04: So I think I I was like I I I don't know, I was I guess I was taken back with how kind of serious it it would get.
• 1:30:34
SPEAKER_04: And then I'm but it was like mostly serious.
• 1:30:37
SPEAKER_04: I mean, a lot of the I would say the funny parts were kind of like interspersed, whereas it was a lot more often than the original series, but like a lot of the times there's a lot of serious and like weird things going on in this show, like, and I felt like it was even more so because you came into the original series, there was a setup for the rest, right?
• 1:31:02
SPEAKER_04: Laura Palmer was killed, that must be solved.
• 1:31:05
SPEAKER_04: We're coming into this with the cliffhanger, right?
• 1:31:07
SPEAKER_04: That like Cooper was left in the Black Lodge, but it's like okay, but the rest of this is just it feels like nonsense, kind of, right?
• 1:31:17
SPEAKER_04: So we definitely need the rest of the series or the rest of the season because you know, after that last episode, episode eight, like my brain feels fried.
• 1:31:28
SPEAKER_03: Um, one last question, Rich.
• 1:31:30
SPEAKER_03: Do you think we're gonna get uh some solid answers?
• 1:31:34
SPEAKER_05: Why do you ask me questions like this?
• 1:31:37
SPEAKER_05: This is like I have a coworker who sometimes our supervisor will directly ask him things when our supervisor knows he's fuming and he's like, What do you think about this?
• 1:31:46
SPEAKER_05: And he just opens the floodgates.
• 1:31:48
SPEAKER_05: Like, what are you no?
• 1:31:49
  SPEAKER_05: I don't think we're gonna get any answers.
• 1:31:50
SPEAKER_05: The man writes his plot points on freaking index cards and tries to figure out how to link them together.
• 1:31:57
  SPEAKER_05: Um, I I don't know.
• 1:32:00
  SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
• 1:32:01
  SPEAKER_05: I don't like we got Diane.
• 1:32:03
SPEAKER_05: I'm very like, I'm gonna take uh I'm gonna take a win on that one.
• 1:32:06
SPEAKER_05: Like I figured out who Diane is.
• 1:32:08
  SPEAKER_05: So she's real.
• 1:32:10
  SPEAKER_05: Uh you know what?
• 1:32:11
SPEAKER_05: I want to see what happens with Albi.
• 1:32:12
SPEAKER_05: I love my man Albert.
• 1:32:14
SPEAKER_05: He's become probably my favorite dude.
• 1:32:16
SPEAKER_05: He's like, yeah, really enjoyed being in the freezing rain in New York City in 37 degrees and uh being back in my house within 15 minutes.
• 1:32:25
SPEAKER_05: Like, like like just his I just love like I he's great.
• 1:32:28
SPEAKER_05: I mean, he's kind of the same character in everything, but like I still love the actor.
• 1:32:33
SPEAKER_05: I think he's really great at that.
• 1:32:34
SPEAKER_05: And honestly, I in wrestling they call it like uh when the crowd pops for something, you know, when they react to something.
• 1:32:42
SPEAKER_05: And I popped for a lot of the character for a lot of the actors in this in this uh return.
• 1:32:46
SPEAKER_05: Uh just randomly showing up, you know.
• 1:32:48
SPEAKER_05: Uh Naomi Watts, Ashley Judd, you know, and Michael Sarah, like I was uh fairly pr pleasantly surprised with how many just kind of I thought, you know, really accomplished actors just were playing small, small roles uh in the show so far.
• 1:33:07
SPEAKER_05: So I hope the uh next uh so you said that eight it's eighteen episodes, but I know that it they got the secret three episodes, uh you know, kind of like Stranger Things with uh episode 12 that just came out.
• 1:33:21
SPEAKER_05: So I honestly think it's gonna be just as good as episode 12.
• 1:33:25
  SPEAKER_05: I mean, that's for my mind.
• 1:33:26
  SPEAKER_03: Let's let's hope.
• 1:33:28
  SPEAKER_03: Uh Jen, final thoughts.
• 1:33:31
  SPEAKER_01: Uh really enjoyed it.
• 1:33:32
  SPEAKER_01: Always a good time.
• 1:33:34
SPEAKER_01: Wish it wasn't absolutely terrifying and caused me horrible nightmares that woke me up every hour one night.
• 1:33:40
  SPEAKER_01: But you know, I'll t I'll take what I can get.
• 1:33:42
SPEAKER_01: I'm excited to finally get answers to face my fears and finish this.
• 1:33:46
SPEAKER_01: Something I've been incapable of doing for a very long time.
• 1:33:49
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we're gonna finish it.
• 1:33:51
  SPEAKER_03: We're excited.
• 1:33:52
SPEAKER_03: Guys, thank you so much for listening to us here for our 150th episode.
• 1:33:56
  SPEAKER_03: Yay! Woohoo!
• 1:33:59
SPEAKER_04: Uh yay, we have caught them all.
• 1:34:04
SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, so next episode is our Mew episode.
• 1:34:08
  SPEAKER_03: Um, 151.
• 1:34:11
SPEAKER_03: Uh little Pokemon Pokemon references for uh our millennials out there.
• 1:34:15
SPEAKER_03: Uh guys, thank you so much for listening to us here for 150.
• 1:34:19
SPEAKER_03: Be sure to check back next week for 151.
• 1:34:22
SPEAKER_03: Uh, we're gonna collect them all.
• 1:34:24
SPEAKER_03: Um, and yeah, we're gonna finish Twin Peaks.
• 1:34:28
  SPEAKER_03: Let's do it, guys.
• 1:34:29
SPEAKER_03: If you want to check out any of our socials, be sure to click down into our uh show notes below.
• 1:34:34
SPEAKER_03: And be sure to give us that five-star juicy rating.
• 1:34:38
SPEAKER_03: It has to be at least as juicy as the uh creamed corn uh that appears a couple times in this season.
• 1:34:47
SPEAKER_03: Um, at least that juicy so gross.
• 1:34:51
SPEAKER_03: Guys, thank you so much and have a great night.
• 1:34:55
  SPEAKER_01: Bye.
• 1:34:56
  SPEAKER_03: Apologies in advance.
• 1:34:59
SPEAKER_01: Hello do I have to make a weird noise or no?
• 1:35:04
SPEAKER_03: We're just gonna use that.
