• Look at that, but let's go back to love. All right, it's been one of those weird recording things. You'd think we would have had this down pat right, Andrew. But no. 100. It's in flight? 1? 1? I think so. Unless you count the pilot and the OnePrime Plus specials and live stuff. And we had a Part A and Part B on another show, didn't we? Yeah, we did. Yeah, we split it up just to completely screw our own analytics that we really pay attention to that. We 're probably at more like 1 officials. Or three and a few One Pluses. Yeah, that's right. And just to be upfront for everyone listening, we're not sure if Jason's coming today, not because we've kicked him out or he doesn't want to host anymore, but He's actually traveling and he thought he might be able to join from the road, but then he told us beforehand that he was stuck in some kind of storm while driving. Anyway, we said drive safely, but we don't know. If he'll be coming or if he's alive. And then also to make things more complicated, usually we record with Zoom hosted by Jason. So we don't have that. So we've hosted a different Zoom, but now your video has blown up. So we don't actually have any video queues that we usually rely on to understand when the other person is going to talk. So it's like a real definite audio podcast at this point. Yeah, basically, people have subscribed to listen to a phone conversation between And and Mike. Oh my gosh. That is weird when you put it like that. Yeah, okay. We're just having a chat. Yeah, it's like, hey, how are you going, Andrew? How's the fam? Oh, they're pretty good, yeah, yeah. I went to a basketball game last night. It was a good game. Lots of fun. That fantastic. Yeah, yeah. That's great. It was great. We ate twisties. Life's pretty straight without them. Are we talking original or chicken? The only one, original. Chicken tw are a curse on humanity. But cheese twisties, it was the family pack. So big, couldn 't get through them all. Oh. Because you go to a basketball game, not only do you you had the twisties, but you have to get hot chips at the game. Ah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's just irritating How much air is in a family pack of twisties these days? Quite a lot. But there's still like but there were still enough twisties. They're so yummy. And they're so mo. I just love how they are completely random in their shape. Like, for anyone in a different country who doesn't have access to Twisties, they're not a standard kind of chip shape. They're just. gl of just random just chunks of stuff, aren't they? Yeah, it's like cheese powder around a yeah, around like a little crinkly thing. Very odd. I wanted to get cheesels, but they'd sold out. There were no cheesels in the store. Do you stick them on your fingers? I don't anymore. My fingers are too they don't really fit. But I put them on the tips sometimes, still, but they don't slide down like a ring. I don know if that's shrink of the cheesel. That they've made them a little bit smaller, or whether my hands have just grown. Yeah, it's really for children 's fingers, isn it? The cheesel experience. Yeah. Although you also have quite large hands, so maybe it's just a problem that you fixed. It could be, it could be. But I like them both. But it was, yeah, so I was disappointed to miss out on the chees But to get the twisty, which I hadn had in a while, was a pretty good trade-off. Very good. Very good. Well, no doubt this chat, once Jason eventually joins or hears it back as a listener himself, he's going to do that thing that he does where he just buys up all of the import kind of market supply of the Australian snack that we mentioned. You know how he's done that with different biscuits and things? Now it's just going to be all cheesels or tw. Available in the U, we'll be going straight to Portland, Oregon. Just don't get the chicken ones. It's a waste of time. Yeah, the chicken ones, I like the chicken ones, but it's funny how they taste absolutely nothing like chicken. But once you've tasted it. you know they're chicken twisties, and that's the flavour of chicken in your mind. Yes, yeah, yeah. And I can't stand that flavour. It just makes me want to gag. Do not like it. Right, well you can send them all to me. I'll eat them. While we were on Food Corner, I had a thing in the show notes at the end of the show, but seeing as we're talking about food, can I bring it up? Elevate, yep, elevate it, bring it up, go for it. Something that I had never experienced before. I didn't know was a thing in the world. Really? Did not know. I'm seeing the word here. I'm flabber, but that's good. Apparently, I think they're all over TikTok. So everybody else. I mentioned it to a couple of people and they're like, Yeah, yeah, we know what you're talking about. This thing is called a cr. So you know what a cron is? Yes, I've I am married to Natasha and she's like a dessert. Specialist. She knows where to find things. So I don know if I was just ahead because of her. But yes, go on. So I don't know if this is like if there is a quintessential cr or whether that there are variations of cr, but I just want to talk you through the cr that I had. It was bought for me, so it was a total surprise. And it was just presented to me as this a treat that might be enjoyed. So it's apparently a croissant doughnut. Is where the word cron comes from. And so it's this the puffy pastry outside, almost shaped like a cupcake. but with the the the crispy croissant pastry, the soft in the middle, really yummy. But then inside that was chocolate mousse. Does that check out with your understanding of a cr? Yeah, I think it's one of those things where, as you've said, the crucial element is the croissant mixed with the don. But you could embellish Fillings or mousse or things on top because they can be flavoured differently, right? So, this, yeah, so this was filled. The interior of the cron was filled with this chocolate mousse. And it was the mousse quality, I guess it would come down to a lot. How good is your mousse filling? And this moose filling was sensational. It was light and fluffy and delicious. And it got all over my nose because, kind of, as I went to try and eat it. It's like, do you eat it like a don, like a chomp, or do you break it apart with your fingers and then place it? And I didn't know. I had no cron experience. So I initially just tried eating it like a don, like just sh shoved in my gob. And what happened there is I had the explosion of mousse that hit my nose. Um, so I wow, I had to transition to more of a um tearing off situation, but then you're still having to deal with the moose, so you're kind of scraping it with a bit of the cr, and then you're kind of sucking on it, and it's it's very awkward food to eat. But it was quite delightful in taste. I have to say, despite the fact that listeners are essentially enjoying a glorified phone conversation between you and me right now, that is the most. Visual visceral food explanation, I we've had on the podcast. I don't think I've heard the words moose explosion come out of your mouth before. Probably not. But You may again, because I am now on the hunt for Perth S Cron. Now, this was actually purchased. You on the hunt for high-quality moose. This was actually in Albany that I got it. So I. If I want to get that one again, I will have to travel for four and a half hours in a car. Oh my goodness. So it's probably not that is it that good? Maybe. Well, I mean, be open to other things as well, because there's also the cr. Natasha introduced me to that. And then that's the croissant and the muffin put together. And then, of course, as you've really expertly explained, they're They're different foods that are combined, right? But then that's also the question of how do you eat this thing? You weren't sure what to do because you think cr, oh, it's like a don, but then you've got the flaky pastry. You've got the mousse, as you said. So. Did you end up besides having things on your nose? Did you end up with flaky bits of pastry on your pants or loose on your shoulders And now I'm wondering whether it's exactly how I finished, but now I'm wondering maybe I didn't have a cron, maybe I had a cr. Because it was shaped a bit like a muffin. Yeah, I I think it's the croissant element is more about the pastry itself rather than the shape, whereas the muffin is more muffin esque. So I think you from what you've described, it does sound more like a A cr. But look, I mean, this is a call to other people out there who are listening. What other weird food combinations have you tried? What fusions are out there? What if McDonald start making them? And then there'd be the McCruffin and the. McCron. Do you think they would do a sausage and egg McCruffin? That would be a little bit disturbing. And then what if you know how movies have a MacGuffin? Oh my goodness. This is just getting out of hand. We should move on. The word min All right, I don know if you can see the show notes right now, but this is a really boring topic that I thought I'm going to bring up anyway, because you know, we are tech adjacent and Apple was that inspiration. It's about three h late as well, by the way. Yeah, yeah. So, for everyone who can't see our show notes in Prot, thank you, Jason. I've written, finally, I found a decent iPhone 13 min case. Now, you had a mini, didn't you? I did, a long time ago. Somebody actually just reminded me of the fact that I had a mini, and again, they took the opportunity. Despite it being two or three years on, to laugh at me for having such a tiny phone. I'm like, I don't have a tiny phone anymore. But they still took the opportunity to laugh at me about remember the time you did have a tiny phone. Well, I have a tiny phone and I love it and I'll be holding onto it as long as possible. But yeah, when I say I've found a decent 13 min case, what I mean is For a while, I tried using it without a case. I really love the iPhone, or any phone for that matter, without a case. But then you, oh, I should get a case. And then I did get a case, and it was the do you know, moment they do all the camera accessories and sales? No. Sorry, mate. No, anyway, they make a decent iPhone case that has like a drop-in thing for to go around your camera lenses where you can actually attach mobile lenses. We've talked about this before. Yeah. Yeah, and I did like a demo on our very, very occasionally populated YouTube channel where I did a demo and I love the anamorphic lens that goes in there. Yep. But despite the fact that it's great for those lens accessories, I don't really like the case itself for an everyday thing because it's kind of chunky and it's like I feel like it's un the phone So then I got off that, and then I'm always worried that I'm going to drop it because you know, running around with kids and stuff. And then I thought, you know what? I'm actually going to try and find one. Well. Let me tell you, if it's any sign that the iPhone min kind of 12 13 series were unpopular, it's this. Trying to find any case, not just the JB Hi-Fi's and the bigger chains and franchises and stuff, but even little Just those iPhone kind of service kiosks that are every two meters in any kind of no, nothing at all. They have the most obscure Otter box heavy duty through to minimalist cases for every iPhone that's ever existed. But you look at them and say, Do you have something for a min? And they look at you like you have three heads, like you're just a diseased Kind of that remains that remains a product in our line. No, it's like that was never a product in our line. What are you talking about? So I was like just pacing around and then I went, you what? I'm just gonna deal with it. I gonna live the caseless life and move on. But then I went, no, I'm gonna make this happen. And would you believe it? eBay provided the goods. And it was in the form of. I can't even tell you what it is because the pictures that I found online, you know, when you see pictures that look like Obviously, faked renders, or that doesn't look like it's it looked horrible, but it was like nine Australian dollars with free postage, and the description was sl mat Hard ultra-thin phone case cover for iPhone 16, 15, 14, Pro Max 13, 12, 11. Wow. Ultra-thin, shockproof. I like, what the hell's this? Why not? Nine bucks, I'll give it a go. So, this is new. Sorry, so to interrupt. This is new, not. eBay as in second, like somebody else. No, it 's meant to be new, but there are so many pictures about how it's like super thin, like under a millimeter, anti-fingerprint. It's just ridiculous. But let me tell you, it is the greatest case I have ever owned in my years of iPhone ownership. Wow. And I'll include a link in the show notes so people can see it. People will go, is that it? It's super boring. It wouldn't serve everyone's purposes. But you know what? It's exactly what I want. It's an ultra-thin case that protects the phone, isn't too thick. It has the little lip for the camera lenses and the front screen. And that's it. It's completely no fuss. What's it made of? Is it like a plastic or is it a. It's plastic, but it kind of has that matte finish. And yeah, you kind of get like a bit of a fingerprint smudge on it. But I just want something that protects the phone and is small. I don't want it to compromise the min experience. So, thank you, user with letters and numbers that make absolutely no sense with a 9.3 positive rating. You have made Martinfeld very happy. Well, I I still believe casel is the ultimate way to go, and I've continued to use my phone caseless a fair chunk of the time, but since I've gotten become an e-bike guy which we've talked about, I had to get a mount for my phone to go on my bike. So I chose the peak design solution. So I have a a peak design Case for my what is it, 15 Pro. And it's very good because it has this amazing mounting system where it really locks in and you don't have to worry that your phone's going to sort of fall off the mounting system. So I've been it's pretty good. It's a nice case. It's got a nice um nice sort of fabric sensation to it. But I still think Casel is the way to go. So now that you're decking out your e-bike, you've got your little phone mount for navigation and calls and whatever you do on there. Have you got a little mounted S or some little lightning bolt stickers to show how fast you are or something like that Well, as a matter of fact, I've got um For my birthday, my partner got me panniers. I don't know if I'm pronouncing that right. Panni panni? The little bags that go on the side. Oh, right. You know, a little and they're they're like, yeah, so they sort of clip onto the back bit of your bike, and then you can unclip them and they become like a little Should bag. So if you go into the shops, you can load it up. That 's pretty handy. So yeah, I'm like man about town with the bike. So you're like a personality on tour. Yeah, yeah. What I just need to get mounted up is like a um again, you're too far too young to remember this, but Back in my days when I was a young boy, the cool thing to do was you would put a um you'd put a ghetto bl on your bike, probably in the you know, on the f you'd either oc strap it to the front or the back. And go right around with a ghetto bl blaring your best music. Double tape deck, maybe. People still do that sort of thing, but even just from phones. Or like Bluetooth speakers I've seen. It not the same though, is it? What? It's like no, I know, but the behavior persists, right? Yeah, yeah. But there's something elegant about the ghetto bl with sixteen D-sized batteries in there. That would last about an hour. But it was a good hour. It was a good hour. Elegance is the first word that comes to my mind. Yeah. Maybe you could put a sht i Hi-F to your back man. That's a great suggestion. Look, I do have just the one. I reckon Jason with his now what Was it 12 or 13 iPod Hi's he has? He could probably rig up something. Well, friend of the show, Nick Tan is still trying to get me to buy an iPod Hi-Fi. He saw advertised. On one of the sites in Perth, and he thinks that I should buy it. And I'm resisting strongly. I saw him at the basketball last night, and he said, Hey, have you bought that i Hi-Fi yet? I was, Stop it, Nick. I'm not doing it. Well, I'm going to be on your case as well. And you know Jason will be. He'll go like thermon on you for the iPod HiFi. I know. I know. I just don 't need any more. I actually just bought a T V today. I don't need any more. I a TV. Yeah, tell me more. I didn't even want any more. I didn't want it. It just landed in your lap. It money flew out. Yeah, I don't want a TV. And then, as with all this stuff, I. Impulse well, I didn't I didn't imp fetch it, I was buying it for Lisa, my partner, who wanted it. And I was like, ah, we don't need another TV, another thing to deal with. Don't get a T V, we need a T V. All right, fine, buy a T V. What sort of T V are we talking about here? I don't know. It was just an E off-y end of deal. It's like, it doesn't need to be great. It was an LG. Something which I'm going to tell you. Hang on. I only bought it like 3 Oh, wait. We've just had, it says Jason is entering the waiting room. We have to admit him for this. And it could actually be a live depreciation spreadsheet update. Yes I going to get him right there. Bring him in. Okay, Jason is joining. Jason, just to let you know if you can hear us, that Zoom is recording, but you should hit go on your own recording if you can hear us. I can hear you, and I have hit record. Excellent. We've got the cameras off, just so you know, because my camera wasn't working for some reason. But how are you going? You're alright after the storm? Yeah, mine's off because I'm in the dark, so it's really not very exciting. How are you guys doing? Is the show still going, or did you cancel it? Yeah, it still going. Oh, okay. I am not moving currently. I am plugged into a giant wall socket. Charging the car, talking to you both. Brilliant. And you've joined just in time because Andrew bought a new TV. What? Tell me more. It's true. It's true. It I was just saying it was an impulse purchase with no research whatsoever. Wait, sorry, who is this again? I know. And do you know the best thing about buying it? The only reason I succumbed, it wasn't really my desired purchase. It was Lisa's desired purchase. But I said, look, I can put this on the depreciation spreadsheet and talk about it on the show, so I'm willing to do it. Is that all it takes now? To buy something. You're getting into my territory, and you're getting very dangerously close to the sun. Well, you just missed it, Jason. But we were just talking about how Nick Tan, friend of the show, is trying to get Andrew to buy an iPod Hi-Fi. So. While the E mood is striking, Jason, get Andrew to buy an iPod HiFi. I've been trying. I really, really want him to have one because I feel like if he has one, he'll understand and the trif will be complete. Sonic pleasure. Maybe I should. Well, okay, what's what you're not going to tell me any details? You're just going to leave me hanging? Now I'll tell you that, T. I don know what it is. I did zero research. Actually, I know. I tell a lie. I did one percentage point of research. I put the model number in to r. that TV review website, and I found their review of the twenty twenty model. I bought the twenty twenty five model, but the twenty twenty model said It's okay. And it had like a six point seven out of ten rating. Thank you for that. I was like, well, that sounds good enough for me. So it is the L G n I think it I don know if it's nan or is it n a n zero. It 's a bit oh no, it's nan l nan eighty A the A I L E D four K U H D Smart T V twenty twenty five. Oh, sorry, did you did you fin was that the end of the title? I thought there'd be more. That was very short for a T V model. I did an online order and then I didn't think this is how much I didn't think it through. I chose click and collect and then realized that I would have to strap it into the back of a car, my work ute. And it's raining today, and I don't know how to tie knots. And so there's no way that I would actually successfully get this. Ethernet cable. Come on. That's what I. You must be picking it up from an electronics store, and surely they have. Some 50-foot Ethernet cables there, you should be good to go. So, didn't I tell the story? Maybe I did on an episode ages ago, but this is before we actually started hemispheric views. This is before this whole universe, right? Listeners. We were very fortunate that a family member, my how would you explain? It just Natasha's grandfather bought us our T V When we got married, he was, I going get you this. I, okay, no worries. Well, he didn have to, but thank you so much. We were very grateful. And he went there, and the TV was too big to fit in his car. So he put it on the back seat. And then gaffer taped the door shut, and the people at the shop were saying, You can't pick it up this way. We will not sign it off as delivered. And he's, I get stuffed, like with, you know, just just piss off I I'm going and like tap the door shut and then the invoice and like delivery receipt thing or pick receipt was covered in this writing. Like we advised the gentleman customer that he should not take this, but he insisted and has taped the door shut. So Andrew, you 're in a long line of uh Suss delivery and pick people. Well, yeah, basically I got scared out of trying to pick it up. I was like, no, no, so I've switched well, yeah, switched it's been switched to Delivery. So I get it in a couple of days' time. And where did you buy it? JP Hi-Fi, of course. Okay. Perfect. I had a voucher, a $10 birthday voucher. Oh. Oh, that would have taken a huge slice out of it Yeah, I mean, you what, ten dollar let's see, let's two two thousand dollars minus ten dollar. Yeah, that's like basically Half off. Exactly. And then I realized there's no I have no stand to put this T V on, so I had to go to IKEA and click and collect an IKEA stand. The good thing is Another birthday voucher from Ikea. Have we said happy birthday yet? I'm not sure if we have. Have we covered that? Yeah, last time I think we did it. Okay, okay. Well, happy birthday anyway, and congratulations on your new T V slash T V stand slash two line items in the spreadsheet slash Dude, oh, wait, that means you get to take a TV out of the spreadsheet or no? No, this is an additional T V. Okay. All right. Well, you know, you can hope and you can dream. Yeah, but there's only one light on furniture isn't it's instant write-off on the furniture. I'm not going to depreciate a crappy IKEA thing. I'm not crazy. I know everybody really cares about T V, so I I have to ask, um, did we s did we mention the size of the T V and also the screen technology? Was this an OLED? Or you said nano. Does that mean it's one of those like micro LEDs? I don't even it's probably macro LED. It was cheap, right? It's just like the it's just four big pixels that alternate colors. Did you just make that up? Is that even a thing? It's the TV of last resort, okay? That's all this is trying to be. But it's so it shows you an impression of your TV shows. Is that the idea? It's very impressionistic. I't know. A, of course, L E D 4K UH and it is 55 inch. Okay, right. LG, though. That's very good. LG is alright, isn't it? I mean, it's got AI. What else could you really want? That's what I figured. And now I've got to t decide whether I fish another old Apple TV out of the. I don't think I've got any more Apple TV 4Ks though, so I might be living with it. Speaking of. Things I have for sale. Would you like to purchase one? I haven't, I've got an extra one, turns out. Oh, a 4K one? Hell yeah! Oh, yeah, oh, yeah, absolutely. Oh my god. Are you click and collect that one too, Andrew, mistakenly? Might as well. But you run NTSC and I'm a PAL. We're in a PAL country. So it's just like the cellular Apple Watch thing all over again. Just go for. Potato Pal. But I'm not kidding actually, Jason. We might need to ship that. Okay. I'll get a shipment ready whenever I get home. Okay, just get your dates right on the invoice this time. Okay. And look, we did cover we did cover at the beginning of this recording, Jason, before you We're very grateful you joined, that you're traveling, all right? You're on the road. So we're not looking at you at the moment, we're looking at the fabulous Mr. Rossetti again, the return of Mr. Rossetti. How have your travels been? What's happening? Good, good. Yeah, we're just uh we did a road road trip this time instead of flying. It was it's been good. We went down to California for the week. Visit some family, do some family stuff, and now we are on our way back. We were going to make it. It was a two-day trip on the way down. It was planned to be a two-day trip on the way back, and then about Quarter of the way through, we decided, you know what? We're just going to go straight through. So we are just driving straight through. It should be Let's see, seven to seven would be twelve. I don't know. I can't do math right now. It's probably going to be about seventeen hours, I think. I'm just plugging this into Apple Maps just to get a sense of your travel. I'm saying you're going from California to Portland. Okay, yeah, eight hours, forty two minutes. Is that all? Well, California is pretty long. It's kind of like the rest of the West Coast, so it's Depends on where in California you're coming from. I just said California. It'll know. Yeah. Yeah, of course. Yeah, obviously. Yeah, it would know. Yeah, so good. All things are going well. We're just, like I said, Stopped off to grab some dinner and a quick charge and talk to you guys. And I have to ask you because we've spoken since the last episode went out, but it's been kind of quick messages and you've been traveling. Yeah. And I'm reminded because we're looking at Mr. Rossetti. on the call right now. When you were doing the show notes the last episode, you know, I've done the edit and we've all moved on. What ran through your mind when you heard What had happened to your voice? Oh, oh, you mean because of the new microphone? Yeah, I thought the new microphone sounded o okay. I don't think it quite brought the the low end that I'm used to with the with the other end, the other microphone that I've that I've been using. So I think I'm going to switch back because it just sounded a little bit A little bit high-pitched, I thought. I don't know if either of you had a thought on that, but to me, it just didn It was subtle. It was subtle. Yeah. But if you know, you know, if you're an audiophile, as both of you are. You could just tell there was just a little bit of a a little bit of a high end there that was just a little too much. So I think I have switched back. But it was probably. all-time top three funniest things that's ever happened in the last five years of this show. So thank you for that I'll be honest, I felt like you just walked straight into it. I was, I don think either of the either of them are expecting this. And when you were just like, oh, do I sound the same? Do I sound the same? I was, oh. Yeah, that sounds good. And then Andrew responded to you at one point, just going, Ooh. And I just thought, that sounds very essential. We have to go low now. So I just couldn resist. Well, that was that's it was great because it was the gift that kept on giving because it went one way and then it went all the way the other way for a little while and then back. And it's just like you never, you just didn't know what was going to come next. It was great. It was a roller coaster of laughter. And I thought, you know, co-hosts aside, of course, you two are important. I like, listeners are either going to go, wow, we enjoyed this. Thank you, Martin, or please, Martin, never edit it again. Because, you know, I like to just tease people sometimes. I think, do you remember the episode where we had. The transitions flip-flopping around and short and then long and then reversed and stuff. I thought, you know what, people have to work when they listen to this show. It's not some easy walk in the park, it's not pure entertainment. You've got to really have a go at this. There's some effort, all right? Well, I mean, what I want to say, Jason, is thank goodness you're here, but that is actually a note that Andrew has left there. What do you want about, Andrew? What is the thank goodness you're here Thank goodness you're here. Gaming corner. Oh, I saw this on the old tim. Yeah, tell us more. Yeah, I'll put it into Discord because I'm not really a gamer, but this one, this is one of the games that Panic have produced. And I saw previews of it when they were first releasing it and sort of looked at it. I was like, I do not understand this game at all. It looks interesting. And quir and strange, but I don't get what the game is. And so I've just kind of had it on the back burner the whole time. And then, um I got one of their emails the other day and it reminded me like a marketing email and it reminded me that it existed. And I thought, you know what? This game, it'd been in my mind. I enjoyed Firewatch when that came out. I'm going to give another one of their games a try. So I was like, which platform should I buy it for? Because there's on a few. And I like, I'm going to get the PlayStation version. And because I like the Play cont. And it was $2. So I went in and I still, as I was buying it, I looked again at the pictures and watched a little bit of the video. Still absolutely zero idea what this game Like what the mechanics were of it, I couldn't understand it, but I was like, I just going to trust it and buy. So I bought, and I've only played, I've played it for about an hour. I don't think the game's very long, so I have no sense of how far through it I am, but I feel like I'm probably a fair way through. I don't think it's very long, but it is delight. It 's so weird and so funny. It's and I think it's the sort of game Martin would actually like because it's set in this sort of fiction I think it's fictional, but it almost feels realistic. English town. And so they all speak with this very thick or broad accent that's almost like Northern English. And it's very funny and very cutes. It 's kind of like a puzzle platformer. But also, what appeals to me is because I'm not a gamer, it has it uses two buttons. You can jump and you can punch, and then obviously move left and right and up and down. And that's it, and that's all you need. So, for somebody like me who grew up with a you know, an Atari 2600 where there was one button and a joystick. It is perfect. And I am loving it. The dialogue is great. It sets a vibe, it sets a tone. So, you kind of get transported into this world through the clever use of video and audio, and it's just an absolute delight. I love it. Thank goodness you're here. Well, that's a good explanation. Yeah, that was fabulous. I want to play it now. So, thank you for the not only Gaming Corner, but Gaming Corner review. It's. Yeah, I don't know if I've done a good job of still describing what sort of game it is. I guess it is a play You said you can punch and you can jump. What more do you need? And you can punch everything and everything kind of like you don't destroy things, but you just punch like there'll be a bag of trash and you punch it. and like a ferret will jump out of the trash. Or you can you punch it you punch a lampp and it just sort of crinkles. It's really quite fun. That would make the world more interesting, wouldn't? If you just punched things and then animals just randomly came out. It's great. It's great. It's delightful. And whenever you turn into a new y you end up at a new location and and the another character will say, Oh, thank goodness you're here Oh, that's nice. I love it. So you must play. Everybody must play. It's $2 Australian. So for Jason, well, they probably give it to you. Yeah, it's just free. That's how it works. Yeah, totally. It's definitely on my list now, for sure. Well, you've probably got your Switch with you because you wouldn't travel anywhere without it, right? So you can just download it on that. I would. I would not, except the problem is that the only game I play now is No Man's Sky, and I don't do anything else. So it's kind of a problem. I didn't know anything about that game. Oh, don't don't even look at it. Don't look it in the eyes, or you'll be hooked. It's like Medusa. You'll just turn to stone, and all you will do is play that game. Oh, goodness. Well, I don't want that. I want, thank goodness, you're here. I actually wanted, I wanted to accelerate. I wanted to go to something that I think, Jason, you had in the notes last time because I'm kind of curious about this, what you mean about it. You wrote. Web rings question mark. How about podcast rings? Oh, yeah. No, no, no, no Stop, stop. I'm stopped. It's is it isn't it podcast str? Possibly? Podcast strings. Yeah, that that's much easier to say, Andrew. Let's go with that. Podcast strings? Podcast strings? What are they, Jason? That rolls right off the right off the old tongue. Okay, so there's the web ring idea, right? Where there's the little well, web ring, as it as the name states at the bottom, where you kind of click it and go to another random blog, website, whatever. That's cool. But it got me thinking, why is there nothing like that for podcasts? Like the whole thing about kind of indie podcasting Is word of mouth. Obviously, there's not, you know, billboards for this show specifically, but for many of them. But how could, and outside of putting, you know, links to another podcast. On your website, how could you integrate something like a web ring into a podcast show to where? Maybe you talk about three of them at the end of every show, or like link or like talk about the links to them or something. But I feel like there's got to be a better way for smaller Indie shows to kind of help promote other ones that maybe each of us likes or something, or not an ad, because there's obviously podcast ads. I'm not talking about ads. I'll never do ads. But just some way to kind of give a, hey, this is another cool show. Maybe you should go check it out. What do you guys think about that? How would that work? I do like that idea. Yeah. It's kind of yeah, it interested me when I saw it. I thought that's the sort of thing you were getting at because You know, the research that I'm doing that just never ends. Hopefully, next year we'll see. You know, you've heard of it, really specific stories. There was an interview show and then just writing endlessly after that, still going. And I thought, wow, that's actually a really cool idea. In terms of referring and building the community and helping people get to things instantly. And the thing that I find a bit difficult about it is that Generally, you're going to have to have some sort of visual affordance short of just going, you know, maybe Andrew says, Oh, I love this podcast, go and check it out. And then you rely on people to rem and then go and find it. Otherwise, you're going to have to have something like in the links and show notes like you normally would. Or maybe, you know, how I suppose on YouTube people say Oh, click on the link above, and they point to where in the video player the thing pops up. Maybe if there was something that were added to apps that essentially plonked a live link within the podcast artwork viewer or something in the timeline, maybe that would work. I suppose you're going to have to do something maybe unless you two can come up with something else that visually replicates what exists on sites like YouTube or something. It's not something that can be audio only, other than just a mention. Yeah, I guess it's kind of the the medium of podcasting, once again, is so incredibly I mean, it's simple, which is great, but it's so incredibly limiting. On stuff like this, that it makes it difficult to try to go outside the box of just basic RSS feed, and that's kind of it. Yeah, like on a video podcast, which is now, I suppose, the norm for lots of people on YouTube, they would be doing something like this already. But they would just be thinking of it like, oh, when you add a link to a YouTube video as the creator. But I do like that idea of it being something that. In a circular fashion, kind of leads people around a community a little bit more deliberate, or is maybe designed as a deliberate feature. Well, the problem with that, though, Martin, is that a YouTube podcast is not a podcast, that's a YouTube video. Well, getting controversial now. I mean, I prefer and agree with the audio thing, but I don't want to start a war here. I get a lot of marketing email telling me that our podcast could really Really, get taking off if we just went to YouTube. Well, you know what, in its current status as nothing more than a Zoom call with Mr. Rossetti, your illustrated Andrew and me standing in front of a sign that says my own name, that would be riveting visual content. I think I've noticed a little bit tangential to this, but I use Pocketcasts at the moment, and it's recently introduced a you might like feature. So when you look at the details of a podcast, it gives you what it thinks you might also like based on that podcast. It's not exactly a ring, but it's also it's some sort of recommendation engine. I don't know how they're I guess they're looking at who subscribes to it and then kind of plucking other shows from people's lists, maybe? I don't quite know how it's like Andrew listens to this show and also these other two, so therefore maybe you'll like those other two kind of thing. Yeah. Yeah. But I'm just having a look. I'm not I'm not convinced by it because I'm looking hemispheric views. And then you might like. And the list includes the Open AI podcast. Well, that's just so incredibly within our sphere, obviously. The AI Daily Brief. What? Acquired. It does have Darknet Diaries and search engines. There okay. I'll listen to I actually listen to those. It's funny because like I use Overcast, but I looked in Apple Podcasts recently just because I like to see if people leave us reviews and people do leave some nice comments. And that was a bit more Accurate, I would say. It had stuff like, you know, Relay FM shows, acc tech podcasts and stuff. And we're not purely Apple shows, or we don't necessarily do things the exact same way as every other thing, but the interest is more aligned than open AI, right? You know what I mean? Like we're part we're more connected to that community of people and their commentary on Apple and other stuff than It's actually about AI. I had no idea there were so many AI podcasts. AI and I. Oh, that's a catchy name. Maybe you can watch a YouTube podcast about AI on your AI TV. With macro LEDs I'll start with this podcast that's recommended, A Beginner's Guide to AI. Perfect. And then I'll go to AI. AI and I mentioned that. There's some Australian AI. This is this day in AI. So many AIs. I can't keep up. Yeah. Accidental Ted Tech Podcast is also recommended to me. So there you go. And the talk show. But that's actually with real people who. Probably have more educated views on AI. So, like, the idea of a recommendation I think is good, but it I it falls into the loss of control for me again, to where I just want there to be a way That we like a endorsement from a person about a person would be so ideal. So, if you could just endorse me. I don't know if there's any websites to do that for endorsing. If you can endorse me for endorsing, that would be great. I reckon that's actually a LinkedIn skill. We'll have to look up endorsing as a skill. So that's what brings. I would love to hear what people think about that. Like if at the end of every maybe not every show, but let's say, I don't know, once a month. Which I guess would be every other show for us. We said, you know, if we each said, hey, here's a pod, or maybe not even on a schedule, just every once in a while, at the end of an episode, we'd, you know, one of us would say, hey. Here's a podcast that I like. Go check it out. I don know. Would that be annoying? Would that be weird? Or, like, I don know. I'm curious what people think. I'm stuck in a rut with my podcast. I haven't found anything new in ages. To the point where I'm not sure anything new is being produced. Have you heard of Hemispheric Views? You should maybe give that a shot. Just a recommendation. That's a bit weird. I don't really understand what it's about. It 's about AI, mostly. Well, I'll finish off with a recommendation. It's not so much in the indie podcast sphere, but it would be remiss of me as the Resident Matrix fan of this show, not to bring up something about the Matrix. I heard. A fantastic podcast between Neil de Tyson and Lawrence Fish about the Matrix. And we can stick it in the show notes if you interested if there are any Matrix people out there. Basically, Neil, as the host, was gushing about how The Matrix is his favorite film, and they just did this deep dive on the mythology and Lawrence Fishburne's enthusiasm, you know In playing Morpheus, and it's just all those layers and layers of philosophy and science interwoven through the movie. So, again, not an indie podcast recommendation in that strict sense, but that would be my first. Pod str recommendation for something that aligned with my interest. That sounds incredible. There we go. He's delivered on the brief. Well done, Martin. Thank you. Now the good news is with the editing this time, I'm going to be it's my turn to edit this show, and I'm going to be editing for the first time on Jason's old iPad. It will be it is an M4 iPad. So I'm moving up from M1 editing to M4 editing. So this should be a piece of camera Does that mean my new piece of Does that mean you'll do it four times as fast? Well, I would think so. Got a brand new pencil, which probably isn't as good as the old one. Um, so I'll see how I go. I haven't even taken that pencil out of the box. Hopefully, it works. Well, best of luck, we should let you get to it, because I know the moment we hang up, you're going to start, right? Oh, instantaneously. I hope, Jason, yeah, burn your in burn your data uploading straight from Cellul. Because I don't you don't make me wait. I I don't I think we have well, I have un on my pho I think we have un yeah, I'm pretty sure it's un. I'm connected to the car, so I think it should be fine. Hang on, you are you us Are you using your car as your Wi-Fi hotspot? Yes. And he's trying to charge it. We need to let him off this call. Go, go. What world are we living in? His car is his um is his mobile hotspot. Basically, yeah, and and mobile charger. Because my laptop's plugged into the car as well, because it was dead. So I've got my laptop. Sitting at around 13% charging and on the hotspot, and it's working great. I it's a shame I'm not picking up that T V in my Ute now because then I could pick it up and then I could drive over to you, park in front of you, we could turn the T V on, and you could have like a drive in theatre experience. It would be amazing. Yeah. But no, someone had to get it delivered. If only I could get across that Indian Ocean. It's a tricky one. All right, well, good luck with charging, Jason. This has been fun. Well, sorry, Mr. Rossetti. Thank you. I'm glad I was able to join you guys. I was afraid I wasn't going to make it. So were we. Thank you for accommodating my ragged schedule. That's all right. Do better next time. I'll try. Well, this has been a fun phone conversation, Jason. We were joking that listeners were just listening to a phone call between me and Andrew, but now it's been a conference call with you, Jason, in the US. So thank you for joining us. Not quite the three-way phone booth, but we're getting closer. Alright, well, uh do I do I still count did you guys count in properly? Yeah, I counted in. It was weird. I didn't like it. So I need you. Okay. Okay. I'm going to count down. I'm probably delayed, but here we go: in mobile three, mobile two, mobile one, mobile stop.
