- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's best music is Magic.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Magic. 94.9.
- 0:04Speaker 1: And welcome to a new episode of Scotty and Abby Unfiltered.
- 0:07Speaker 1: It's finally time to hear what the heck went down
- 0:09Speaker 1: on this blind date.
- 0:10Speaker 2: It's finally time. Well, I'm not going to give details
- 0:12Speaker 2: on the date because I don't like to put men
- 0:14Speaker 2: on blast. Okay.
- 0:15Speaker 1: No, I respect that because you've always said, and I
- 0:18Speaker 1: love this rule, and you and your friends have talked
- 0:19Speaker 1: about this. If a guy's willing to either talk to
- 0:23Speaker 1: you at a bar, ask you out, like they don't
- 0:25Speaker 1: deserve to be belittled because that's the thing that we
- 0:27Speaker 1: fear the most.
- 0:28Speaker 2: I stand by that rule.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Yeah. That's very valid. Yeah.
- 0:30Speaker 2: I'm not going to.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Yeah. So, yeah.
- 0:33Speaker 2: I will say he texted me yesterday and he's like,
- 0:35Speaker 2: did you guys talk about it on air? And I
- 0:37Speaker 2: was like, I haven't personally talked about it.
- 0:39Speaker 1: That's good. I don't know if they talked about it
- 0:40Speaker 1: on the show. Yeah.
- 0:40Speaker 2: It doesn't mean the bone hasn't talked about it, but
- 0:42Speaker 2: I don't think. The only people that would have something
- 0:45Speaker 2: to say are Patrick and Moe and their part-timers.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Yeah, so they are going to do probably, when do
- 0:52Speaker 1: they usually go? Saturdays?
- 0:53Speaker 2: They do a show on Saturday, I think.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Okay, so then this upcoming Saturday they'll probably talk about it.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Or maybe Spike will talk about it with Drew. Maybe
- 0:59Speaker 3: Spike talked about it yesterday with Drew.
- 1:01Speaker 1: Oh, was he? Okay, was he on the date too?
- 1:03Speaker 2: Spike was there, yeah.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Okay, I barely ever see Spike. Spike is one of
- 1:06Speaker 1: the guys on the bone. I never see him anymore.
- 1:08Speaker 2: But I don't really know what Spike would say other
- 1:10Speaker 2: than what happened when the date ended and i just
- 1:12Speaker 2: went back over to the table and i gave them
- 1:14Speaker 2: the debrief the only thing i could imagine that they
- 1:17Speaker 2: would talk about is what happened after the date.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Probably whatever you said was probably debriefed.
- 1:24Speaker 2: So i guess i could tell you what happened after
- 1:26Speaker 2: the date so i'll kind of give you the spark
- 1:28Speaker 2: notes version okay one and two five the bone they
- 1:31Speaker 2: wanted me to come give them content so i don't
- 1:33Speaker 2: know why i'm giving them free access to my daily
- 1:36Speaker 2: life i went on um The guy who was filling
- 1:39Speaker 2: in for our afternoon guy. And they basically did this
- 1:41Speaker 2: telethon trying to get me to be on a date.
- 1:43Speaker 2: They're like having guys call in. I chose somebody else.
- 1:47Speaker 2: They chose this guy for me. I was like, whatever.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Typical bone taking away women's autonomy.
- 1:51Speaker 1: The one person that I actually maybe have wanted to
- 1:56Speaker 1: go on a date with. Yeah.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I was like, this guy sounds nice. And they're like, no,
- 1:59Speaker 2: not him. So anyway, they set me up on this date.
- 2:02Speaker 2: It's at Noble Crust, one of our clients. I happen
- 2:04Speaker 2: to like Noble Crust.
- 2:05Speaker 1: So I was like, whatever.
- 2:06Speaker 2: I'll get a free brunch out of it. So I
- 2:08Speaker 2: show up to the state. He's very nice, handsome dude.
- 2:12Speaker 2: It was a totally fine situation. I end the date
- 2:14Speaker 2: after like an hour and a half. So I go
- 2:16Speaker 2: back over to the table where our sales team and-
- 2:23Speaker 2: spike from 1025 the bone Patrick from 1025 the bone
- 2:26Speaker 2: they're all sitting there and they've been like kind of
- 2:28Speaker 2: peeking in on the date like I was I could
- 2:31Speaker 2: see Patrick over the guy that I was on the
- 2:33Speaker 2: date with shoulder and I didn't really see them making
- 2:36Speaker 2: a big fuss but I will say when he got
- 2:38Speaker 2: up to go to the bathroom about halfway through the
- 2:39Speaker 2: date Scotty came in like not the Scotty Scotty Scotty
- 2:43Speaker 2: came in and went how's it going he seems nice
- 2:46Speaker 2: you seem like you're having a good time and I
- 2:47Speaker 2: was like yeah, what's going on? And she's like, we're
- 2:49Speaker 2: going to bring you over mimosas.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Uh, yeah, it was just funny. Um, it's like your parents,
- 2:56Speaker 1: like chaperoning on a trip. Like, are you okay, sweetie?
- 2:59Speaker 2: She really swooped in out of nowhere. I was like, girl,
- 3:01Speaker 2: she was literally like Houdini. But what was funny was
- 3:04Speaker 2: I went over to Patrick and, um, I'm at the
- 3:07Speaker 2: table with all the people that were watching us. And
- 3:09Speaker 2: I had told Patrick this thing that I just, I
- 3:13Speaker 2: just sometimes want to squish men's cheeks and go, you
- 3:15Speaker 2: guys are so cute and so naive because we were
- 3:18Speaker 2: talking about how he was observing me and trying to
- 3:21Speaker 2: get a vibe whether or not I was having a
- 3:22Speaker 2: good time. And I said, well, Patrick, the thing about
- 3:24Speaker 2: being a woman is you're never going to know if
- 3:26Speaker 2: I'm having a good time or not. Because I'm not
- 3:29Speaker 2: going to put myself in a position to look like
- 3:31Speaker 2: I'm having a bad time if I think I'm in danger.
- 3:34Speaker 1: That's a very valid point.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Or if I just don't want to make it unpleasant
- 3:37Speaker 2: for you.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Yeah, you don't want to make them sad or uncomfortable.
- 3:40Speaker 2: But sometimes I will say there have been one or
- 3:42Speaker 2: two dates in the last year that I've been on
- 3:44Speaker 2: where I have honestly just said I cannot bring myself
- 3:47Speaker 2: to fake it at this moment. Because I think women
- 3:50Speaker 2: spend so much of their life. faking their emotions and
- 3:52Speaker 2: trying to make people comfortable. I'm kind of, as I'm
- 3:54Speaker 2: getting closer to 30, I don't have the energy for
- 3:56Speaker 2: that anymore because I'm trying to preserve the Botox in
- 3:59Speaker 2: my face. I don't want to emote more than I
- 4:00Speaker 2: have to. And so I told Patrick, I said, listen,
- 4:04Speaker 2: if you, if you saw me and I'm not saying
- 4:06Speaker 2: this was my experience on the date, but I'm like,
- 4:08Speaker 2: just cause you see me smiling and laughing on a
- 4:10Speaker 2: date and like engaging with this guy, that doesn't mean
- 4:14Speaker 2: I'm having a good time. It means I'm trying to
- 4:16Speaker 2: make somebody else comfortable. And I said, you could be
- 4:19Speaker 2: sitting in front of a hot girl and she could
- 4:21Speaker 2: be acting like she's having a good time, but she
- 4:23Speaker 2: might not be having a good time. And Patrick goes, well,
- 4:25Speaker 2: that's so funny you say that because every time I've
- 4:28Speaker 2: been in front of a hot girl and they look
- 4:29Speaker 2: like they're having a good time, they're.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Having a good time.
- 4:32Speaker 2: And I'm like, Patrick, it's almost like that's the point.
- 4:34Speaker 1: That's literally it. I mean, that's so true. And I
- 4:37Speaker 1: could speak for a lot of dudes like that's also
- 4:39Speaker 1: what gets us like. Our brains are like peanuts sometimes.
- 4:43Speaker 1: And we're like, well, I guess she likes me. I
- 4:45Speaker 1: guess she wants me to talk to her. I don't know.
- 4:47Speaker 1: I guess it's like you all deserve to have more
- 4:50Speaker 1: chances to just. Emote exactly what you're feeling. But I
- 4:53Speaker 1: understand what you're talking about. Like, I don't want to
- 4:55Speaker 1: put myself in danger. I don't want to have a
- 4:56Speaker 1: guy like there's so many instances where a guy will
- 4:58Speaker 1: get all upset if you say no. So you're just
- 5:01Speaker 1: going to play the game.
- 5:02Speaker 4: You got to play the game to keep yourself and
- 5:04Speaker 4: your other safe survival instincts. But it's also just people
- 5:06Speaker 4: pleasing instincts. Women don't want other people to feel uncomfortable.
- 5:10Speaker 4: So I'm going to he he ha ha laugh laugh
- 5:12Speaker 4: and not make you feel weird. And so I was
- 5:14Speaker 4: telling Patrick that and I was like, oh.
- 5:15Speaker 1: You sweet.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Sweet summer child women have been faking everything for years.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Oh that's so it's so crazy to think because then
- 5:22Speaker 1: you think back on your past experience you're like how
- 5:24Speaker 1: many of those things were fake how many.
- 5:26Speaker 2: Everything nothing is real nothing is nothing is real this
- 5:29Speaker 2: actually is the matrix this is the matrix so we're
- 5:32Speaker 2: sitting there where i'm rehashing what happened i was telling
- 5:34Speaker 2: them all the things that we talked about blah blah
- 5:36Speaker 2: blah blah blah And he said, well, you're going to
- 5:39Speaker 2: see him again. I said, probably not. And he goes, well,
- 5:43Speaker 2: Patrick goes, I am determined to find you a man today.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Like you came here expecting true love. We're going to
- 5:49Speaker 2: find you true love.
- 5:51Speaker 1: You're like, actually, I came for a brunch.
- 5:53Speaker 2: I was like, I was like, Patrick, I don't know
- 5:54Speaker 2: how to tell you this. I came because I'm a
- 5:56Speaker 2: team player. I came because I am open to love.
- 6:00Speaker 2: And also I love free alcohol. So I was like
- 6:03Speaker 2: willing to get a free brunch. So he goes, well,
- 6:06Speaker 2: what about the waiter? Like, are you, the waiter sounds
- 6:09Speaker 2: like he's your type. And I'm not going to talk
- 6:12Speaker 2: about the waiter at all. But I was like, Patrick, like,
- 6:20Speaker 2: let's just, sometimes we've just got to accept defeat.
- 6:23Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 6:23Speaker 2: Like, sometimes we don't have to force something. He goes, no, no,
- 6:25Speaker 2: you don't understand.
- 6:26Speaker 1: I'm going to find you, love.
- 6:27Speaker 2: I think the waiter's into you. And he goes.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Waiter.
- 6:30Speaker 2: And he goes, me and the waiter were in the
- 6:31Speaker 2: same fraternity. And I was like, well, how did you
- 6:33Speaker 2: find that out?
- 6:34Speaker 1: What the hell? How did that come up?
- 6:35Speaker 2: And he goes, I'm going to go. I'm just going
- 6:37Speaker 2: to go check in with him. So I'm like, whatever.
- 6:39Speaker 2: I'm sitting there with Scotty and Spike. And we're just like,
- 6:41Speaker 2: we're continuing our conversation.
- 6:42Speaker 1: You're a hell of a team player.
- 6:43Speaker 2: About five minutes later. Well, you know, I'm a team
- 6:46Speaker 2: player after about one and a half glasses of rosé.
- 6:48Speaker 1: That's true. And you're like, hey, fine.
- 6:50Speaker 2: So Patrick leaves at some point. He goes to find
- 6:53Speaker 2: wherever the waiter went. And he comes back over with
- 6:57Speaker 2: a napkin that has the name of the waiter and
- 7:00Speaker 2: his number on it. I'm like, Patrick, we're still having brunch.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I've got to see this man. Like, what am I
- 7:08Speaker 2: going to do now? Say no to this guy? Because
- 7:11Speaker 2: I will say the one thing I will tell you
- 7:13Speaker 2: about the date that I went on. is he asked
- 7:16Speaker 2: me out like three different times during the date. And
- 7:20Speaker 2: I was like, well, let's say I was going to,
- 7:23Speaker 2: regardless of what my answer was going to be, this
- 7:25Speaker 2: is just awkward no matter what.
- 7:26Speaker 1: There's no win there.
- 7:27Speaker 2: If I say no and it's halfway through the date,
- 7:30Speaker 2: we're just going to sit here and be like, well,
- 7:31Speaker 2: I'm fucking leaving. It's a waste of time. And so
- 7:33Speaker 2: that's how I felt about the waiter or whatever. giving
- 7:37Speaker 2: him or giving me his number because I'm like, now
- 7:40Speaker 2: what am I supposed to do with this? Now I
- 7:42Speaker 2: have to act like I'm interested in him. Now I've
- 7:44Speaker 2: got to be like, ha ha, laugh, good time because
- 7:46Speaker 2: I don't want him to spit in my food or
- 7:48Speaker 2: the Aperol Spritz that I just ordered.
- 7:50Speaker 1: That's so funny because that's the game that the waiters
- 7:52Speaker 1: and waitresses are playing too. Yeah. I'm going to be
- 7:54Speaker 1: overly happy. And overly supportive and loving.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Oh, do you think I got played? Do you think
- 7:58Speaker 2: he just gave me his number?
- 7:59Speaker 1: I don't... Well, maybe. Yeah.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Well.
- 8:03Speaker 1: You know, what is he supposed to say?
- 8:05Speaker 2: That's what I mean. No. So Patrick, I guess, went
- 8:07Speaker 2: over and these were Patrick's exact words. He goes, in
- 8:10Speaker 2: the fraternity, we would say the same thing over and over.
- 8:12Speaker 2: I'm like, Patrick, you're like 60. I feel like the
- 8:15Speaker 2: lingo's changed since then.
- 8:17Speaker 1: But a great head of hair. That man's got a
- 8:18Speaker 1: hell of a head of hair.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Man's has the flow that you're after.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Ah, yeah.
- 8:22Speaker 2: So he goes over to the waiter and I guess...
- 8:25Speaker 2: Just said, so Abby. So Abby. And the waiter goes, yeah.
- 8:29Speaker 2: And then Patrick goes, I can't even say it with
- 8:32Speaker 2: a straight face. He goes, are you bout it, bout it? Oh, no.
- 8:36Speaker 2: I'm like, who says that? And then I guess the
- 8:39Speaker 2: waiter goes, I'm bout it, bout it.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 8:41Speaker 2: They're just grunting. And so then he put his number
- 8:45Speaker 2: on the napkin and then brought it back over to me.
- 8:46Speaker 2: And I was just like, Patrick, what am I supposed
- 8:48Speaker 2: to do with this now? And so then the waiter
- 8:49Speaker 2: comes back over. I'm like, I'm just going to pretend
- 8:51Speaker 2: that this is not sitting in front of me.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Yeah. Let's just crumble this up really quick.
- 8:55Speaker 2: I can't remember if the waiter said something, but the
- 8:57Speaker 2: waiter then came back over and was like, yeah, like,
- 8:59Speaker 2: you know.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Bout it, bout it. Bout it, bout it.
- 9:02Speaker 2: And I was like, can you be bout bout bringing
- 9:04Speaker 2: me another drink? Please, sir.
- 9:07Speaker 1: How uncomfortable. It's so similar to like family gatherings too.
- 9:11Speaker 1: Like when you're the one single person in your family
- 9:13Speaker 1: and everywhere you go is now a dating experience. It's
- 9:16Speaker 1: like when you say like when your family comes to
- 9:17Speaker 1: town and you all gallivant throughout the different areas of
- 9:20Speaker 1: Tampa because you're looking for somebody off. I don't even know.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Not Wall Street, but like a finance bro. Yeah. Finding
- 9:25Speaker 1: the best finance person.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Off Water Street.
- 9:27Speaker 1: Yeah, like guys, I don't always need to be on
- 9:29Speaker 1: the prowl. I'm good. I'm good. We're making this weird.
- 9:32Speaker 2: Well, because here's the thing. They put all their effort
- 9:33Speaker 2: in the wrong areas. Like put your effort in when
- 9:37Speaker 2: I want to make a move, but I'm like nervous
- 9:39Speaker 2: about making a move.
- 9:40Speaker 1: That's right.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Whereas don't just go approach some random man across the
- 9:43Speaker 2: bar because we just want to make something happen today.
- 9:45Speaker 2: For example, like an example of where there could be
- 9:49Speaker 2: some effort. My mom will text me every now and
- 9:51Speaker 2: then and she'll be like, This has happened several times
- 9:53Speaker 2: at this point. She'll be like, oh, I'm at DI
- 9:55Speaker 2: Coffee right now. There's the most beautiful man with long
- 9:57Speaker 2: brown hair and backwards hat. it's you know my type
- 10:00Speaker 2: or whatever and i'm like okay that's that's so great
- 10:03Speaker 2: can can you say something like what am i supposed
- 10:05Speaker 2: to i'm in bed right now i'm hungover i'm not
- 10:07Speaker 2: getting out of bed right now For a man who's
- 10:09Speaker 2: going to be gone in 10 minutes.
- 10:11Speaker 1: Right here, right now. Put on some pants and get
- 10:13Speaker 1: over here.
- 10:14Speaker 2: I'm like, do you want me to get married or not?
- 10:15Speaker 2: Say something.
- 10:16Speaker 1: I have this amazing daughter. She would love to get
- 10:19Speaker 1: coffee with you sometime. I like that as a wing woman.
- 10:23Speaker 1: I could see that being a great play and just
- 10:25Speaker 1: kind of getting a little intel because you have to
- 10:27Speaker 1: have that person that's just fearless to start conversations.
- 10:30Speaker 2: If you see a guy, you know he's my type.
- 10:32Speaker 2: If you want to put yourself on the line for
- 10:33Speaker 2: me when I'm not in the room, I so appreciate that.
- 10:37Speaker 2: But let's not force things.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Yeah, not with a waiter in the room.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Don't put me in an uncomfortable situation. Don't approach the
- 10:43Speaker 2: whole half of the XYZ Tampa Bay blank team at
- 10:47Speaker 2: this dive bar and be like, do you want to
- 10:49Speaker 2: date my daughter?
- 10:49Speaker 1: That's so funny. It's kind of like what I did
- 10:52Speaker 1: when we first started going out when you got here,
- 10:54Speaker 1: when we went out to the pool party.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Yes, you have to know somebody's wing woman language.
- 10:58Speaker 1: And I was like, all right, I'm just going to
- 11:00Speaker 1: step on it.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Alright, you're like the third string pitcher. You're like, I'm
- 11:05Speaker 2: just gonna step up to the plate here.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Alright, you guy, girl, you guys, don't come. Hey, bada bada.
- 11:12Speaker 1: I'm gonna go head over here. Enjoy.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Scotty's just like, you're a boy, you're a girl.
- 11:17Speaker 1: Do something. Now fuck.
- 11:20Speaker 2: No, no smash.
- 11:22Speaker 1: It's funny to see it played out from other people,
- 11:23Speaker 1: because now I can recognize it in myself.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because, see, like, when I wing-woman'd you,
- 11:28Speaker 2: I was like, you're interested. Brianna's interested. Okay, I just
- 11:32Speaker 2: need to just, you know, connect the dots. And then
- 11:35Speaker 2: once you guys connect the dots, you guys can connect
- 11:37Speaker 2: whatever else.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right. You know?
- 11:40Speaker 2: Like, that's on you now.
- 11:41Speaker 1: You know, it's like that game Connect Four. So it's
- 11:43Speaker 1: like everything goes at that point. I don't mind what happens.
- 11:48Speaker 1: You know what?
- 11:48Speaker 2: Usually in Florida, it's just Connect Three. Well.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Depends where you're at.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Depends what city you're in.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Well, that's, I mean, I'm sure everyone has good intentions.
- 11:56Speaker 1: I love that they did that for you with the
- 11:58Speaker 1: sales team. That's funny.
- 11:59Speaker 2: They're very nice. They're very sweet. They're trying.
- 12:01Speaker 1: They love you. Like, they truly love you.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Well, they need to love me more. They're not selling
- 12:04Speaker 2: me enough.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Well, they love you for love. They don't love you
- 12:07Speaker 1: for finances.
- 12:08Speaker 2: They don't love me for finance. So I appreciate that
- 12:09Speaker 2: they like my company.
- 12:12Speaker 1: But yeah.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Start putting your money where your heart is.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Where do you want them to sell you to? Anywhere.
- 12:19Speaker 2: We had a team happy hour yesterday that you missed again.
- 12:23Speaker 2: So did Alexia. I wasn't going to go to this one,
- 12:25Speaker 2: but I was like, fuck it, I'll go. And Strawberry John,
- 12:29Speaker 2: who's our big boy manager, who's in charge of all
- 12:31Speaker 2: the stations, he was telling all the sales team, he's like, yeah, Abby,
- 12:35Speaker 2: I was just doing some intel on all of our
- 12:37Speaker 2: social platforms and we had to submit something to corporate
- 12:41Speaker 2: or whatever. We were trying to see who has the
- 12:42Speaker 2: most social reach. And do you know who had the
- 12:44Speaker 2: most social reach? And I was like, Alexia? And he's like, no,
- 12:47Speaker 2: it was you. And I just looked at all the
- 12:49Speaker 2: salespeople and I said, wow, that's crazy.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Imagine what I could do for your clients.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Imagine what could happen.
- 12:56Speaker 2: With all the reach that I have.
- 12:58Speaker 1: I know. On social. It's so hard because I feel
- 13:01Speaker 1: like they're spread so thin.
- 13:03Speaker 2: I know. I get it. It's tough. Their jobs are hard.
- 13:05Speaker 2: They've got bills to pay, just like I have bills
- 13:07Speaker 2: to pay.
- 13:07Speaker 1: You do. And a nice client partnership would be fantastic.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Like would do.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Anything for money. No, literally. Like, I mean, I'm approaching
- 13:17Speaker 2: that age to where I'm like, man, fuck dreams. I
- 13:19Speaker 2: just want to be financially independent.
- 13:22Speaker 1: It's an interesting thought because I have so many dreams,
- 13:24Speaker 1: but I also recognize that money does help those dreams
- 13:27Speaker 1: like flourish. Like a little extra cash takes a little
- 13:30Speaker 1: bit of the stress off so now you can focus
- 13:31Speaker 1: on the dream.
- 13:32Speaker 2: I know. Think of all the dreams I could accomplish
- 13:33Speaker 2: if I could just settle for some dude.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Oh, well, I guess. Yeah.
- 13:38Speaker 2: That's what I'm thinking.
- 13:38Speaker 1: I feel like I'd get bored. I'd be like, ah, well,
- 13:42Speaker 1: I'm here on my yacht. In, I don't know, name
- 13:44Speaker 1: a fancy place.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Saint-Tropez?
- 13:46Speaker 1: That place. I don't even know where that is.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Saint-Tropez, a place I may or may not be going
- 13:49Speaker 2: to next year. Oh. Girls Gone Getaway.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Girls Gone Getaway. Lean in. Lean in. Be all rich,
- 13:55Speaker 1: sitting in your house. Yeah. It would be nice for
- 13:57Speaker 1: a little bit.
- 13:58Speaker 2: I think it'd be fun for like a year, and
- 13:59Speaker 2: then I would have FOMO. I'd be like, dang, I
- 14:01Speaker 2: just want to be with someone hot.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Yeah. Somewhere hot. Doing something hot.
- 14:05Speaker 2: I know.
- 14:05Speaker 1: That hot people do.
- 14:06Speaker 2: That's why I'm like, dang, do I have to be rich,
- 14:08Speaker 2: funny- And interesting, just so I can date someone I'm
- 14:11Speaker 2: sexually interested in.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Yeah, now you have to do it all. You have
- 14:14Speaker 1: to do it all this day of age.
- 14:15Speaker 2: So annoying.
- 14:15Speaker 1: You've done a good job supporting yourself so far.
- 14:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm having a little help from the parents right now.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 14:21Speaker 2: Shout out to the house that I'm trying not to
- 14:23Speaker 2: get kicked out of.
- 14:24Speaker 1: How's the camera situation at the house?
- 14:27Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, I never really talked about this.
- 14:29Speaker 1: I mean, that's your call.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, we're kind of out of the woods,
- 14:32Speaker 2: so I think people will find this funny.
- 14:34Speaker 1: I think so, too.
- 14:37Speaker 2: I'm not going to get into the weeds.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Yeah. Um, but your actions are funny.
- 14:42Speaker 2: While I was in Italy, we had a kerfuffle and
- 14:45Speaker 2: I kind of snapped with my living situation just because
- 14:50Speaker 2: I feel a little bit like I'm living in the
- 14:51Speaker 2: Truman show because there's cameras all over the house and
- 14:55Speaker 2: my parents will say, we don't watch the cameras. I'm like,
- 14:58Speaker 2: I know you watch the cameras because you mentioned to me,
- 15:00Speaker 2: you're like, oh, I like the outfit that you're wearing.
- 15:02Speaker 2: You mean like it's getting to the point or like,
- 15:04Speaker 2: you know, they'll send me, they'll send, you know, our
- 15:07Speaker 2: family therapist clips of what's on the ring camera.
- 15:11Speaker 1: You can't tell me you don't watch.
- 15:12Speaker 2: You can't tell me that you're not looking at the
- 15:14Speaker 2: ring camera. If you're screen recording what's on the blink camera. Yeah.
- 15:18Speaker 2: And so I kind of just snapped on my light
- 15:21Speaker 2: went out. Hang on.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Now that we're, oh, I guess this would be a
- 15:26Speaker 3: good time to mention that we're on YouTube now.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Yeah, shout out to Abby getting us up on YouTube.
- 15:30Speaker 2: I'm just going to start linking the general YouTube thing
- 15:34Speaker 2: because I don't know what the schedule is going to
- 15:36Speaker 2: look like with how things are posted just because my
- 15:38Speaker 2: internet's really slow. And so if I don't post it here.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Your internet at home?
- 15:42Speaker 2: Yeah, because I'm using my phone hotspot on my laptop.
- 15:46Speaker 2: That's a whole other story. It's boring technical issues. So
- 15:49Speaker 2: I've got to upload things with my hotspot. It's a
- 15:52Speaker 2: whole thing. Anyway, what was I talking about?
- 15:54Speaker 1: We're on YouTube.
- 15:56Speaker 2: I'm going to link it in the episode description for
- 16:00Speaker 2: all of the podcast episodes. So you'll just see all
- 16:04Speaker 2: of them. And whatever the most recent podcast episode.
- 16:05Speaker 3: Will be, the one that's up.
- 16:07Speaker 1: There you go. Okay, that's awesome.
- 16:08Speaker 2: If you would like to watch us, which I would
- 16:10Speaker 2: prefer that you didn't, because I feel like everybody's watching
- 16:13Speaker 2: me everywhere.
- 16:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Which kind of goes into it to where I kind
- 16:17Speaker 2: of snapped because I was in a kerfuffle with my family.
- 16:19Speaker 2: And I was like, and I live in their house
- 16:22Speaker 2: and they have all this leverage over me to where
- 16:24Speaker 2: they can just kind of do whatever because I live
- 16:26Speaker 2: in their house and they're watching me and they can
- 16:28Speaker 2: listen to me at work and they can watch me
- 16:30Speaker 2: on the podcast where I was just kind of like,
- 16:31Speaker 2: I have nothing. I just, you know, I'm approaching 30
- 16:35Speaker 2: and I just feel like everybody's in my fucking business.
- 16:38Speaker 2: And to be fair, some of that is voluntary. Like
- 16:41Speaker 2: a lot of my life is whoring out my personal
- 16:44Speaker 2: details for entertainment and that's on me. But then it
- 16:47Speaker 2: gets to the point where like there's sort of nothing
- 16:50Speaker 2: that's mine. I have no I don't have the luxury
- 16:53Speaker 2: of having like a lot of secrets or privacy because
- 16:56Speaker 2: everything is just for public consumption. Not everything. And I
- 16:59Speaker 2: don't mean that, but like it. There's certain things that
- 17:02Speaker 2: I make the cognizant choice to share. Sort of like
- 17:05Speaker 2: an artist writing a song or whatever. Me telling a
- 17:08Speaker 2: story on a podcast. But then when it got to
- 17:10Speaker 2: like my living space and just sort of feeling like
- 17:14Speaker 2: everybody's everywhere all at once, I just kind of freaked out.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Hit your threshold.
- 17:17Speaker 2: And so I covered up the ring cameras with duct tape.
- 17:23Speaker 1: I love this. I mean, it's literally you like that's
- 17:25Speaker 1: a moment like we all have a snap moment.
- 17:27Speaker 2: I snapped that I can't. I reached the depths of
- 17:32Speaker 2: my soul. You don't even understand. Like I was at
- 17:34Speaker 2: the bottom of the barrel. And I don't know if
- 17:36Speaker 2: you you listening at home have ever just had a
- 17:38Speaker 2: bottom of the barrel moment where you just want. When
- 17:41Speaker 2: I tell you I wanted to take a sledgehammer to
- 17:43Speaker 2: the ring camera. I went I literally lost my mind.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Were you like running around the house? Are you like
- 17:50Speaker 1: screaming in this moment of like? What the fuck?
- 17:53Speaker 2: I think internally I had like my little Lizzie McGuire
- 17:55Speaker 2: cartoon running around my head where I was just like,
- 17:57Speaker 2: fuck everybody. I'm going to light this place on fire.
- 18:00Speaker 2: And so I covered up the ring cameras with duct tape.
- 18:03Speaker 2: And this is what really sent me over the edge.
- 18:05Speaker 2: I covered up the ring camera with duct tape. And
- 18:09Speaker 2: then I went to work and I came back from
- 18:12Speaker 2: work and the duct tape had been removed because my
- 18:15Speaker 2: family lives in Tampa. So I'm assuming somebody got the
- 18:18Speaker 2: message that, um, the duct tape needed.
- 18:20Speaker 1: To be removed yeah it's not a neighbor coming by thinking.
- 18:23Speaker 2: That felt so violating because it felt like drawing a
- 18:26Speaker 2: boundary and your parents just going like no fuck you
- 18:29Speaker 2: like you're our kid we're gonna do whatever you want
- 18:30Speaker 2: and i understand it's their house i understand like there's
- 18:33Speaker 2: a level of like cerebral understanding but also like give
- 18:36Speaker 2: me just like a little bit give me give me
- 18:38Speaker 2: a week of you just not fucking staring.
- 18:40Speaker 1: At me all the time try to understand where i'm
- 18:41Speaker 1: coming from.
- 18:43Speaker 2: So then i did what any self-respecting human being would
- 18:46Speaker 2: do And I didn't take it laying down, and I
- 18:49Speaker 2: got another piece of duct tape. And I wrapped it
- 18:53Speaker 2: around the ring camera. And I left for a walk
- 18:57Speaker 2: the next day or whatever, came back from work, and
- 19:00Speaker 2: the duct tape was gone.
- 19:01Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sure you're losing your freaking mind at this point.
- 19:04Speaker 2: I can't even tell you, the colors I saw weren't
- 19:08Speaker 2: even human at that. I didn't see red. I didn't
- 19:10Speaker 2: see blue. I saw some kind of third world UFO thing.
- 19:15Speaker 2: color that has never been seen by humans before like
- 19:17Speaker 2: that's how livid I was I'm like just give me
- 19:22Speaker 2: some space for the love of God and so for
- 19:26Speaker 2: the third and final time I go into the house
- 19:29Speaker 2: I get my duct tape and I go to the
- 19:31Speaker 2: ring camera and I look that ring camera dead in
- 19:33Speaker 2: the eye because I know they're watching me we don't
- 19:35Speaker 2: like the ring camera I know you're watching me and
- 19:38Speaker 2: I said I swear to God if you remove this
- 19:41Speaker 2: piece of duct tape one more fucking time I will
- 19:45Speaker 2: take a hammer to the ring camera and you will
- 19:49Speaker 2: literally never see me again until somebody comes and installs
- 19:52Speaker 2: it or whatever. And so then I put the duct
- 19:55Speaker 2: tape back over it, and that duct tape stood until
- 19:58Speaker 2: our next therapy session.
- 19:59Speaker 1: That's good, though. God dang, but it only took three times.
- 20:02Speaker 2: It's just kind of like what... What bothered me is
- 20:06Speaker 2: your daughter's clearly, like, going through something.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Yeah, like, not well in this moment.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Maybe now's not the time to, like, push another button.
- 20:12Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Like, let's just take a
- 20:14Speaker 2: step back. Just deep breath.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Hmm.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Our daughter seems really upset. Like, let's just consider for
- 20:20Speaker 2: a fact that maybe watching her on the ring camera,
- 20:22Speaker 2: not the most important thing right now.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Yeah, that's actually kind of pushing her over the edge
- 20:26Speaker 1: a little bit.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Yeah, so then what pissed me off is they sent
- 20:29Speaker 2: that video to our family therapist, and they're like, look
- 20:32Speaker 2: at how crazy our daughter is. She thinks we watch
- 20:34Speaker 2: her on the ring camera, and clearly we don't, even
- 20:36Speaker 2: though we found.
- 20:36Speaker 1: This video for her. Even though here's the video of
- 20:39Speaker 1: it happening. Here's the video of it happening.
- 20:40Speaker 2: And so, you know what? One day I will get
- 20:42Speaker 2: that ring footage.
- 20:46Speaker 1: And to be able to share.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Here's the thing. I just know that I probably look
- 20:50Speaker 2: like there's a demon behind my eyes in there, just
- 20:52Speaker 2: because I really felt like a caged animal. That's the
- 20:56Speaker 2: best way for me to describe it.
- 20:57Speaker 3: 100%.
- 20:57Speaker 2: I felt like you raised me, you caged me, you
- 21:01Speaker 2: called me crazy. That's how I felt.
- 21:03Speaker 1: And there's no escape.
- 21:04Speaker 2: And there's no escape.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Where am I supposed to go?
- 21:07Speaker 2: Where am I supposed to go?
- 21:08Speaker 1: That's the question. I think that's the part that it's like,
- 21:10Speaker 1: it's so hard. It's like, we're doing it because we
- 21:13Speaker 1: love you. We're doing it because we want to know.
- 21:14Speaker 1: But it's also like, I just need a second. Just
- 21:16Speaker 1: let me breathe.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Yes.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Let me get myself back together. Yes. And then we
- 21:19Speaker 1: can have this conversation.
- 21:20Speaker 2: That's not love. That's control.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Correct.
- 21:23Speaker 2: That's not respecting boundaries. And I just think, even though
- 21:26Speaker 2: I live in your house, I do deserve some boundaries.
- 21:30Speaker 1: And cut this if you need or don't answer if
- 21:32Speaker 1: you need. But like when, that video gets shown to
- 21:34Speaker 1: your therapist. Does your therapist go, she's at her limit?
- 21:38Speaker 1: Does she like kind of see where you're coming from?
- 21:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:41Speaker 2: So I don't want to talk about what we've spoken
- 21:43Speaker 2: about because my parents, again, listen to everything. So I
- 21:48Speaker 2: don't want to talk about what has specifically gone in
- 21:50Speaker 2: our sessions or what my therapist has said. But there
- 21:54Speaker 2: were definitely moments in the conversations we were having where
- 21:58Speaker 2: I'm like, just, what was really painful in one of
- 22:03Speaker 2: the conversations we were having was I'm like, I'm clearly
- 22:06Speaker 2: like emotionally yelling, not like physically yelling, sometimes physically yelling.
- 22:11Speaker 2: I'm clearly like shouting with my emotions right now. And
- 22:15Speaker 2: I feel like no one's listening. Like, I feel like
- 22:17Speaker 2: you're hearing me, but I feel like nobody is even
- 22:20Speaker 2: attempting to understand me because you're so blinded by your
- 22:25Speaker 2: justification for things and not even just giving me the
- 22:29Speaker 2: consideration of, we understand why she's this emotional about something.
- 22:34Speaker 2: And I think that's what really bothers me. Cause if
- 22:37Speaker 2: your parents at the people who gave, who like created
- 22:39Speaker 2: you and raised you, aren't even taking the time to
- 22:42Speaker 2: understand you or even just remotely go, you know, I
- 22:46Speaker 2: do understand where you're coming from. That doesn't mean I
- 22:48Speaker 2: agree with you, but I understand, but it just, it
- 22:51Speaker 2: just felt like, I'm yelling, yelling, yelling, yelling, yelling, and
- 22:54Speaker 2: everyone's going, okay, but.
- 22:56Speaker 1: You're like, you're not hearing me!
- 22:57Speaker 2: And I think everybody has had one of those arguments
- 23:00Speaker 2: or fights where it's just kind of like, I feel
- 23:02Speaker 2: like I'm in a glass cage of emotion, and I'm
- 23:06Speaker 2: trapped in the glass cage, and no one wants to
- 23:08Speaker 2: open up the glass cage and go, I see how
- 23:09Speaker 2: it feels in your glass cage. Just know how... Why
- 23:12Speaker 2: does no one care how it feels in my glass cage?
- 23:14Speaker 2: Just because it doesn't make sense to you doesn't mean
- 23:16Speaker 2: that it's not very real to me.
- 23:18Speaker 1: Yeah, like looking at your situation and realizing, wait a second, okay.
- 23:21Speaker 1: It's like you said, I'm going through a lot. Somebody
- 23:23Speaker 1: just give me a second.
- 23:23Speaker 2: And so that's what bothered me was I'm being called
- 23:27Speaker 2: crazy instead of going, how did we get to this reaction?
- 23:32Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 23:32Speaker 2: The narrative is always painted around my reaction because I'm
- 23:35Speaker 2: so emotive. And I have such strong feelings and I'm,
- 23:39Speaker 2: I'm just not someone who, I mean, I will shut
- 23:41Speaker 2: the door and like, you know, cry when I, when
- 23:43Speaker 2: I need to and go away when I feel like
- 23:44Speaker 2: that's appropriate. But sometimes I'm like, if I just feel
- 23:46Speaker 2: like I'm not being heard, you're going to hear me.
- 23:48Speaker 1: I think that's a, that's the biggest thing that we
- 23:50Speaker 1: see from people. It's like just trying to understand, trying
- 23:53Speaker 1: to like just do a little more of Intel of, Hmm,
- 23:56Speaker 1: we didn't just get it. Like this moment didn't just happen.
- 23:58Speaker 2: It didn't just happen.
- 23:59Speaker 1: The eruption didn't just happen.
- 24:00Speaker 2: And nobody ever wants to talk about how we got
- 24:02Speaker 2: to the happen. Like that's what bothers me is like,
- 24:06Speaker 2: I've always felt like just because I'm the kid, I'm
- 24:09Speaker 2: not taken seriously. And that's really frustrating because I'm like,
- 24:13Speaker 2: I'm not 15 or, you know what? I was, I
- 24:15Speaker 2: loved who I was at 15. I'm not nine anymore.
- 24:18Speaker 2: You know, I like, I am at a place where
- 24:21Speaker 2: I'm able to articulate how I'm feeling, why I'm feeling,
- 24:24Speaker 2: how I got here. And I'm not just lashing out
- 24:28Speaker 2: like I'm some 12 year old who got told they
- 24:30Speaker 2: can't go to the sleepover.
- 24:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:31Speaker 1: You know? Like you don't, and I say this very
- 24:34Speaker 1: on purpose, like you don't feel crazy, right? For having
- 24:37Speaker 1: those emotions.
- 24:37Speaker 2: I do feel crazy.
- 24:38Speaker 1: You still do.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Sometimes I, um, okay. I'm going to get really emotional. Sorry.
- 24:52Speaker 1: It's okay.
- 24:52Speaker 2: I'm going to get really emotional. I feel so crazy.
- 24:58Speaker 2: because um when i have people who can bear witness
- 25:04Speaker 2: to what i experience i don't feel crazy and i've
- 25:08Speaker 2: been i've been in situations where like i brought in
- 25:10Speaker 2: friends to like be like hey like here's what happened
- 25:14Speaker 2: or like i'll bring them to certain environments where i'm
- 25:16Speaker 2: like i feel this way am i wrong am i
- 25:18Speaker 2: am i gaslighting myself into feeling this way and That's
- 25:22Speaker 2: when I feel the most emotionally articulate because I'm like, okay,
- 25:24Speaker 2: I'm not crazy. And I feel like I can articulate
- 25:27Speaker 2: this well.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Like somebody else could see it. Yes.
- 25:30Speaker 2: And so I'm really grateful for my friends who have
- 25:32Speaker 2: been in my life who have witnessed or felt certain.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Things that I'm like, yes, that's exactly how I feel.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Thank you for telling me that I'm not crazy. And
- 25:41Speaker 2: I think has kind of launched me to being a
- 25:43Speaker 2: little bit more vocal about articulating my emotions in certain scenarios.
- 25:47Speaker 2: But what I was talking about with my therapist yesterday,
- 25:49Speaker 2: which I will talk about, is despite feeling like everybody
- 25:57Speaker 2: is everywhere all at once watching me, whether it's at
- 26:01Speaker 2: work or at home, I am always by myself emotionally.
- 26:07Speaker 2: Like there's no one to just kind of like, like, sorry,
- 26:11Speaker 2: I'm going to get really upset. Like I go to
- 26:16Speaker 2: bed alone. I wake up alone on the weekends. I'm
- 26:21Speaker 2: fingers crossed hoping there's someone I can hang out with.
- 26:24Speaker 2: When I'm upset, hopefully there's someone to answer my calls.
- 26:29Speaker 2: And my family, I feel especially alone because my brother
- 26:35Speaker 2: and I aren't close and my parents are a team.
- 26:37Speaker 2: And so I think part of me feeling really crazy
- 26:41Speaker 2: sometimes just comes from a place of never feeling like
- 26:44Speaker 2: there's anybody in my corner. And I'm really struggling with
- 26:49Speaker 2: that because it's just been, I just spent my whole
- 26:53Speaker 2: life and it's just not changing anytime soon. And I'm
- 26:58Speaker 2: so lonely because I'm constantly moving that it's hard for
- 27:02Speaker 2: me to keep friends. Um, because distance, I think makes
- 27:07Speaker 2: it very easy for people to cut you off and
- 27:10Speaker 2: not saying that's anyone listening. That's not like a dick
- 27:12Speaker 2: at anyone in Atlanta.
- 27:13Speaker 1: I'm just saying it's harder to keep that like it
- 27:17Speaker 1: was when you were right there.
- 27:18Speaker 2: Yeah, your friendships are just different when you don't live
- 27:21Speaker 2: in the same city. Like, even people that I consider
- 27:23Speaker 2: to be my best, best friends. Like, my best friend
- 27:25Speaker 2: who lives in Miami, I love her. She'll be in
- 27:28Speaker 2: my wedding, all the things. I feel, you know, she's
- 27:32Speaker 2: so close to me, but I also don't see her
- 27:33Speaker 2: every day. And, you know, to some extent, you feel
- 27:36Speaker 2: sometimes emotionally closer to people you just see on a
- 27:40Speaker 2: daily basis, even if you wouldn't consider them, like, a
- 27:42Speaker 2: best friend, if that makes sense.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Yeah, because when you see friends that are at a distance,
- 27:45Speaker 1: it's like, It's been even like, let's say, a couple months.
- 27:48Speaker 1: There's so much to unpack in a couple months. When
- 27:50Speaker 1: you see somebody every day, it's like, oh no, this
- 27:52Speaker 1: is how I am today. Let's just focus on right now. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 27:56Speaker 2: I can't even remember where I was going with this.
- 27:59Speaker 2: But where was I going with this?
- 28:01Speaker 1: The trouble of being alone in your corner.
- 28:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I just don't ever feel like there's anybody in
- 28:06Speaker 2: my corner and moving here has been tough because you
- 28:10Speaker 2: have to, again, rebuild your relationships again and You know,
- 28:15Speaker 2: it's just incredibly isolating to constantly feel like you're the
- 28:20Speaker 2: only person truly advocating for yourself or looking out for you,
- 28:24Speaker 2: for yourself. And I'm just sick of it. I'm just
- 28:27Speaker 2: over it. And it makes everything else feel so much
- 28:31Speaker 2: harder because you don't have somebody in your corner who
- 28:35Speaker 2: can help bring you back down to earth when life
- 28:37Speaker 2: feels like you're in a glass cage of emotion. Like
- 28:39Speaker 2: there's nobody who wants to be in the glass cage
- 28:41Speaker 2: of emotion with me because I'm not. Because there's nobody who.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Like, I don't have a best friend here that has
- 28:51Speaker 2: known me for years who understands my history or my
- 28:53Speaker 2: past or whatever. All my close friends are sort of
- 28:56Speaker 2: scattered throughout the country. And I'm not dating anybody who would,
- 28:59Speaker 2: I guess, kind of take that place. And it takes
- 29:01Speaker 2: time for close girl friendships to build to that. So
- 29:04Speaker 2: it's just tough. And I'm just struggling. Yeah.
- 29:08Speaker 1: I mean, it's very understandable, especially... In those intense emotions. Yeah.
- 29:12Speaker 1: And you just want someone to say, I see you,
- 29:14Speaker 1: I hear you, I understand you. Yeah. You're not crazy
- 29:16Speaker 1: for feeling this way. That validation. But also someone just
- 29:20Speaker 1: to decompress with. Yeah. Like, who do you go to
- 29:23Speaker 1: if everybody else has somebody in their corner and you're
- 29:26Speaker 1: over here like, okay, yeah, but what about me?
- 29:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Everybody has their default person. And it's not that I
- 29:30Speaker 2: don't have people that I enjoy hanging out with, but
- 29:32Speaker 2: there's a different kind of isolation that comes when you
- 29:34Speaker 2: text a group chat and go, hey, I have a
- 29:36Speaker 2: spare lightning ticket. Does anyone want to come to the
- 29:38Speaker 2: lightning gate with me? And going, oh my God, if
- 29:41Speaker 2: no one can go with me, do I even get
- 29:42Speaker 2: to go to this thing that I want to go
- 29:43Speaker 2: to or am I going to have to go by myself?
- 29:44Speaker 2: You know, it's just, it sucks. You know, like Saturday,
- 29:47Speaker 2: for example, I went on the date and then, you know,
- 29:49Speaker 2: I go home to my empty apartment and I go,
- 29:51Speaker 2: I kind of want to watch the Gator game somewhere,
- 29:53Speaker 2: but like, I don't really want to go sit by myself,
- 29:55Speaker 2: but I did go sit by myself. And instead of
- 29:58Speaker 2: me sitting with friends watching the Gator game at the
- 30:00Speaker 2: dive bar down the street, it's me crashing a 40-year-old's
- 30:03Speaker 2: birthday party watching the Gator game.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Was it a 40-year-old that you knew?
- 30:07Speaker 3: No.
- 30:09Speaker 2: I literally sat down at a bar. I was like, damn,
- 30:10Speaker 2: there's a lot of old people here.
- 30:11Speaker 1: Happy birthday, Dave.
- 30:13Speaker 2: 40 is not old. No, it was some 40-year-old named
- 30:17Speaker 2: Brandon celebrating their birthday.
- 30:20Speaker 1: Well, first off, thank you for being vulnerable with that
- 30:23Speaker 1: because I think a lot of people go through that
- 30:25Speaker 1: and they don't express it. It's hard.
- 30:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:27Speaker 1: To like go and you've done it so many times now,
- 30:29Speaker 1: moving to a new location, having to readjust, having to
- 30:32Speaker 1: go through these same struggles. And every time I feel
- 30:35Speaker 1: like it gets a little more exhausting because you're like,
- 30:37Speaker 1: how many times do I have to do this? Because
- 30:40Speaker 1: you do build those connections. When you were in Atlanta,
- 30:42Speaker 1: how was your living situation there? Did you just have
- 30:45Speaker 1: like your own place? Was it like something that that
- 30:48Speaker 1: you really could tell the difference? Versus like where you
- 30:51Speaker 1: live now versus where you live there. Yeah.
- 30:53Speaker 2: You know, I really didn't feel that lonely in Atlanta.
- 30:56Speaker 3: I think because I worked on such a big team
- 30:58Speaker 3: that like, I mean, half of my day was having.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Not forced conversation, but you're like literally forced to have
- 31:03Speaker 2: a conversation every single day. So I never really felt
- 31:06Speaker 2: lonely in Atlanta. There were things that I struggled with
- 31:09Speaker 2: when I moved to Atlanta where I lost friends. a
- 31:12Speaker 2: big friend group back in my hometown when I moved there.
- 31:15Speaker 2: And I was in a pretty deep depression after that.
- 31:17Speaker 2: That was a big struggle for me. Um, cause I
- 31:20Speaker 2: got this two bedroom apartment thinking, you know, I, for
- 31:24Speaker 2: the first time in my life, I have a really
- 31:26Speaker 2: close friend group that I, I really feel connected to everybody.
- 31:29Speaker 2: I'm going to get a guest bedroom. They can come
- 31:30Speaker 2: visit me. And you know how many times they came
- 31:32Speaker 2: to visit me? Well, before like I got cut off
- 31:34Speaker 2: zero times. My best friend in Virginia came and visited.
- 31:37Speaker 2: My mom came to visit. But, like, those were the
- 31:39Speaker 2: only two people that would come and stay in that
- 31:41Speaker 2: guest room. And every single month that I paid rent,
- 31:43Speaker 2: I was like, are you fucking kidding me?
- 31:44Speaker 1: Yeah, like, I have this whole freaking room here.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Which I don't regret it. I love that apartment. Like,
- 31:48Speaker 2: it gave me great space to be able to, like,
- 31:49Speaker 2: get a second cat. Like, no regrets. But I remember thinking...
- 31:53Speaker 2: I've built this place. I've built this physical space for
- 31:56Speaker 2: people that I really care about and no one wanted
- 31:59Speaker 2: to come up and use it. Those were moments that
- 32:02Speaker 2: I felt really lonely, but now I just like had,
- 32:04Speaker 2: I felt like I've just blended in in Atlanta very easily. Yeah.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Like there's still people even that you just could connect
- 32:10Speaker 1: with quicker.
- 32:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 32:10Speaker 2: And this is just tougher too, because again, we don't
- 32:12Speaker 2: work on a big team. Like that's why I go
- 32:14Speaker 2: to the big, the happy hours because I miss working
- 32:16Speaker 2: on a big team and I miss having all those connections.
- 32:19Speaker 2: But also like, I think It feels even more isolating
- 32:22Speaker 2: coming to a place where like my whole family's here.
- 32:24Speaker 1: Like it almost makes you feel.
- 32:24Speaker 2: More alone when everyone else is doing their own thing
- 32:26Speaker 2: with their people. I texted my brother that if he
- 32:29Speaker 2: wanted to go to a Zac Brown band concert a
- 32:30Speaker 2: couple weeks ago.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:31Speaker 2: And he goes, well, my wife's working. And I was like,
- 32:34Speaker 2: just because your wife's working doesn't mean you can't.
- 32:35Speaker 1: Yeah, you and I could go.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Yeah. He's like, well, I'm in Clearwater. I'm like, well,
- 32:39Speaker 2: you can leave Clearwater. It's your favorite fucking band.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Are you kidding me?
- 32:43Speaker 2: Not that I, you know, I'm dying to hang out
- 32:45Speaker 2: with my brother, but, you know.
- 32:46Speaker 1: You're throwing it out there. You're doing your part.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Yeah. You're constantly making the ask for people or you're
- 32:53Speaker 2: constantly surrounded by people, but at the same time, not. Yeah.
- 32:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 32:57Speaker 1: It's like you said, it makes you feel even lonelier. Yeah.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Because you're like. All right, guys. But then in these cases,
- 33:04Speaker 1: it even makes it, I guess, more forced because you're like,
- 33:07Speaker 1: nobody's seeing my perspective in these moments. And that sucks because. Somebody,
- 33:12Speaker 1: please just see my side. I know. That's why, I mean,
- 33:14Speaker 1: I don't think, one, you're crazy at all.
- 33:16Speaker 2: I'm not crazy.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Like, I know, I know. But I know in those moments, like,
- 33:20Speaker 1: especially if you're like, who do I decompress to? I
- 33:22Speaker 1: have all these thoughts. And then you say it out loud.
- 33:24Speaker 1: You're like, I hope somebody understands. Us listening, we know
- 33:28Speaker 1: that none of that sounds crazy at all. I think
- 33:30Speaker 1: we'd all react a very similar way.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Because you don't have the other side, which is their
- 33:34Speaker 2: justification for it. Do you know what I mean? Like,
- 33:37Speaker 2: their side, where you just hear... an albeit biased side
- 33:41Speaker 2: of just my emotions and my opinion, whereas everybody always
- 33:44Speaker 2: has a counter to it. It's like, well, this is
- 33:46Speaker 2: why we do blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Or this
- 33:48Speaker 2: is why blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 33:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:50Speaker 2: And so I'm sure if the other side was here,
- 33:52Speaker 2: you would maybe side with them. I don't know.
- 33:54Speaker 1: Well, welcome into the studio. No, that'd be so.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Mr. and Mrs. Murphy calling in from Napa, California.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Is that where they are right now? They're going to
- 34:02Speaker 1: do a little wine tour?
- 34:03Speaker 2: They're currently in Napa, so shout out to them having
- 34:06Speaker 2: the time of their lives.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Enjoy... We do have such a weird position. And my family,
- 34:10Speaker 1: it took a long time to understand, like, you like
- 34:13Speaker 1: putting your life out there like that. You enjoy sharing everything.
- 34:16Speaker 1: And honestly, yes, because there's so many things that vary
- 34:21Speaker 1: in very similar circles. You want to either feel validated
- 34:25Speaker 1: for feeling good. Or maybe you just want to express
- 34:27Speaker 1: and this has become their way of expression. But that
- 34:30Speaker 1: does make it hard in your position because you're like,
- 34:32Speaker 1: a lot of the things that I'm going on in
- 34:33Speaker 1: life are deeply personal.
- 34:35Speaker 2: There's so much I would love to talk to you about.
- 34:37Speaker 2: Not necessarily you, but you listening. But it's just not,
- 34:43Speaker 2: you got to have some boundaries. Oh, yeah. I got
- 34:46Speaker 2: to keep some boundaries in my life or it's not
- 34:48Speaker 2: even boundaries. Like I think if I could put people
- 34:50Speaker 2: in like a geo fence and they would never know
- 34:51Speaker 2: that I was going to talk about it or they
- 34:53Speaker 2: wouldn't have to hear, I'd be happy to talk about it.
- 34:56Speaker 2: But there's also just some things that I think you
- 34:58Speaker 2: need to work through before you can give the purpose
- 35:00Speaker 2: behind why you're sharing it. Yeah.
- 35:02Speaker 1: You know, right.
- 35:02Speaker 2: Like I think some things, if I shared them right now,
- 35:05Speaker 2: it'd be too messy. Whereas this is the stuff, this
- 35:07Speaker 2: is kind of like my, my current temperature check on
- 35:09Speaker 2: where I'm at emotionally, where like, it's so funny. I'll
- 35:12Speaker 2: get so many DMs. People will be like, you look
- 35:14Speaker 2: so much happier now that you're in Tampa. I'm like,
- 35:15Speaker 2: you guys have no idea like how many nights I'm
- 35:18Speaker 2: just like in my house and just like fucking not miserable.
- 35:21Speaker 2: I don't want to say I'm miserable as I'm like,
- 35:23Speaker 2: everything's awful. But you probably question everything when you're like,
- 35:26Speaker 2: when you're like crying on the inside and people are like,
- 35:28Speaker 2: you look so happy. I'm like, no, I'm not.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Oh my God. The amount of times that that happened
- 35:33Speaker 1: in like, just like past relationships. Yes. That was hard.
- 35:36Speaker 2: You guys look so happy.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Oh my God. Where's the ring? All these things. And
- 35:40Speaker 1: inside I'm like, We, we hate each other. What the, what?
- 35:44Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 35:45Speaker 1: That was honestly so scary in the past and I'm
- 35:47Speaker 1: not going to specify on anybody or any situation, but
- 35:50Speaker 1: it's like people say that and you're like, well, this
- 35:52Speaker 1: is going to shatter some people's concepts when I actually
- 35:54Speaker 1: open up and tell how I really am feeling. Like
- 35:58Speaker 1: that perception is crazy, but it's also, it's hard because
- 36:02Speaker 1: then people paint you in a certain light. You're like, huh?
- 36:05Speaker 1: How do I tell you the truth? How are you
- 36:07Speaker 1: going to react to... Like, are you going to be mad?
- 36:10Speaker 1: Are you going to feel like I lied? Like, what
- 36:11Speaker 1: is that truth going to look like?
- 36:12Speaker 2: Like, you think because you.
- 36:13Speaker 3: Went through a breakup, people are going to think something
- 36:16Speaker 3: about you? I.
- 36:17Speaker 1: Well, I mean, I remember in past breakups, I remember
- 36:22Speaker 1: thinking people were going to be so upset. And I
- 36:26Speaker 1: think upset at me.
- 36:27Speaker 2: Like, your audience?
- 36:29Speaker 1: Yeah, like my audience. Like, I don't think my people... Well, actually,
- 36:31Speaker 1: I think some friend groups, yeah.
- 36:33Speaker 2: Why do you think your audience would be upset with you?
- 36:35Speaker 1: Because they... They hate change. They hate things coming to
- 36:39Speaker 1: an end. It's heartbreaking for them to see. Gotcha.
- 36:42Speaker 2: So, like, if a favorite celeb couple breaks up, you're like, no,
- 36:45Speaker 2: I loved you two together.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Yeah, like, you fit so perfectly. Or also, like, that
- 36:48Speaker 1: somebody needed to be blamed for the reason. That was
- 36:52Speaker 1: also a big fear in the past. Yeah. Like, are
- 36:55Speaker 1: people going to, like, just all of a sudden point
- 36:56Speaker 1: the finger at me and be like, how dare you?
- 36:59Speaker 1: And I'm like, what?
- 37:01Speaker 2: You stole her youth. I'm like, what do you want? Ah!
- 37:06Speaker 1: But I think that's a story that we tell ourselves
- 37:08Speaker 1: and didn't happen like that. And I'm so grateful that
- 37:10Speaker 1: people are so understanding and could see both sides very mature.
- 37:14Speaker 1: But it's like that same situation where it's like, you're
- 37:16Speaker 1: so happy here. And you're like, I mean, yeah, there's moments,
- 37:19Speaker 1: moments of happiness, but also a lot of moments of
- 37:21Speaker 1: just like deep realization of life and just figuring it
- 37:25Speaker 1: out and navigating. But also it's like, how do you
- 37:26Speaker 1: share that without being like, wah, wah.
- 37:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm really trying not to be the wah, wah girl.
- 37:32Speaker 1: This is a chapter.
- 37:33Speaker 2: It's a chapter and I was trying to reflect I'm
- 37:35Speaker 2: like when was the last I don't think this has
- 37:37Speaker 2: probably been the hardest year of my life and I
- 37:39Speaker 2: think I kind of had this blind up um blind
- 37:42Speaker 2: optimism that I'm like after a year because it's coming
- 37:44Speaker 2: up I think this is basically a year since I've
- 37:46Speaker 2: known since I was gonna have to move I was
- 37:48Speaker 2: like after a year I feel like it'll be like
- 37:49Speaker 2: pressing the reset button and I think when I got
- 37:51Speaker 2: back from Italy and it wasn't the reset button I
- 37:52Speaker 2: was like okay here we go but my first year
- 37:56Speaker 2: um in Atlanta was tough too but it was tough
- 38:00Speaker 2: because of health reasons and friend reasons and all things
- 38:03Speaker 2: like felt like I couldn't really get under control, to
- 38:06Speaker 2: where I'm like, I feel like this is a little
- 38:07Speaker 2: bit more in my control, and so I'm like, am
- 38:09Speaker 2: I not doing enough to, I don't know, is it
- 38:11Speaker 2: my own fault? I don't know.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Yeah, but you also, you don't want to burn yourself
- 38:14Speaker 1: out trying to do everything, because that's so easy, because
- 38:16Speaker 1: I wouldn't be like, go to this, and go to that,
- 38:18Speaker 1: and do this, and try this, but at the same time,
- 38:20Speaker 1: you're like, am I doing that? Nope.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Have you ever been depressed, and someone just says, just
- 38:23Speaker 2: try harder.
- 38:24Speaker 1: Just try harder. Be happy.
- 38:27Speaker 2: I'm trying.
- 38:27Speaker 1: I'm depressed. Guys, I am trying. Yeah, and that's, it's
- 38:31Speaker 1: literally a daily battle. It's like, today, I will do
- 38:34Speaker 1: one step. And this will be the step. I might
- 38:37Speaker 1: try this. I will go on a walk for this
- 38:38Speaker 1: because you are doing all those things. You do go
- 38:40Speaker 1: out to a lot of events. You have friends that
- 38:42Speaker 1: you're now starting to build stronger relationships with. That's awesome.
- 38:46Speaker 1: And it just takes time.
- 38:47Speaker 2: We are getting on the other side. And I do
- 38:48Speaker 2: remember my first year in Atlanta was tough. But then
- 38:51Speaker 2: like after about a year and a half, I would
- 38:53Speaker 2: have stayed in Atlanta forever. So I'm just trying to
- 38:55Speaker 2: like cross my fingers that. I just have six months
- 38:59Speaker 2: left of depression.
- 39:00Speaker 1: There you go.
- 39:01Speaker 2: That's it.
- 39:01Speaker 1: We'll put a time cap on it. Six months until
- 39:03Speaker 1: it's over.
- 39:04Speaker 2: No, it'll probably be fine. And the fall is going
- 39:06Speaker 2: to be super fun. Like, I'm already having a great
- 39:07Speaker 2: time doing all the events and going to all the games.
- 39:10Speaker 1: That's true.
- 39:11Speaker 2: I like living in a city where, like, you have football.
- 39:13Speaker 2: And we're going to have such a good football season. Florida.
- 39:15Speaker 1: That's crazy. Like, to just take that in a different direction.
- 39:19Speaker 1: I said it to Brianna. I was like, you guys
- 39:21Speaker 1: are back.
- 39:22Speaker 2: We're so bad.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Florida has kind of like, I mean, we beat y'all.
- 39:26Speaker 1: USF beat y'all last year. I was like, hell yeah.
- 39:28Speaker 1: But y'all. y'all have like serious it's fun to be
- 39:32Speaker 1: a fan now again.
- 39:33Speaker 2: It's so much more fun it's it's fun to be
- 39:36Speaker 2: a fan in general so that's helping me get out
- 39:37Speaker 2: of my depression the fact that like uf is having
- 39:39Speaker 2: such a good season that'll be so fun to go
- 39:41Speaker 2: to those tailgates and then like The Bucks tailgates have
- 39:44Speaker 2: been fun. The open part, the lightning games have been fun.
- 39:47Speaker 2: I think we're doing like a taste test tomorrow. Are
- 39:50Speaker 2: you coming to that?
- 39:50Speaker 4: Yes.
- 39:51Speaker 1: I'm glad you reminded me. I will be at that. Yeah.
- 39:53Speaker 2: Tomorrow we're like eating all their concession food.
- 39:55Speaker 1: That's right. And it's good though. Like that's the thing
- 39:57Speaker 1: about the lightning. It's like every single concession, they have
- 39:59Speaker 1: like fancy Italian, they have sushi, they have steak, like everything.
- 40:03Speaker 1: yeah everything's nice.
- 40:04Speaker 2: I was like don't bring us the peasant food bring
- 40:06Speaker 2: us the club food we're accustomed.
- 40:08Speaker 1: To i'm telling you right now they ain't bringing you
- 40:09Speaker 1: just like lizzie to throw down and if it is
- 40:11Speaker 1: it's gonna be like remember we're sitting there at the
- 40:13Speaker 1: game they brought over it was like a crazy cone
- 40:15Speaker 1: of like i don't know like meatballs yeah but like
- 40:19Speaker 1: crafted from like top chefs and sprinkled with the finest
- 40:22Speaker 1: parmesan i was like damn Y'all took something ordinary, and
- 40:25Speaker 1: you made it extraordinary.
- 40:26Speaker 2: They're like, this cheese is from the Highland Cows in
- 40:28Speaker 2: Plant City.
- 40:29Speaker 1: In Plant City. Our bangs cows. Have you gone there yet?
- 40:32Speaker 2: No. I really want to, though. I need to.
- 40:34Speaker 1: I was looking at their pictures, and I was like,
- 40:36Speaker 1: that's super cute. Because now we're getting to a temperature
- 40:38Speaker 1: where it's like, you could be outside. It'll be fun
- 40:40Speaker 1: to actually do the activity.
- 40:41Speaker 2: But here's the thing. Who do I go to see
- 40:44Speaker 2: Highland Cows with?
- 40:44Speaker 1: That's a good question.
- 40:45Speaker 2: You know what I mean? That's the kind of thing
- 40:47Speaker 2: I would drag some guy named Jared to. You know
- 40:49Speaker 2: what I mean? Like, I need to find some... I
- 40:51Speaker 2: got back on hinge.
- 40:53Speaker 1: No, you're not getting back on hinge.
- 40:54Speaker 2: No, I did. I'm talking to a guy. I think
- 40:57Speaker 2: he might be. No, there's always something wrong with them. No.
- 41:01Speaker 1: Well, there's always something wrong with everybody. I have plenty
- 41:03Speaker 1: of things wrong with me that I'm sure like Brianna's like,
- 41:06Speaker 1: Oh look, you know what I did yesterday? It was,
- 41:07Speaker 1: Oh my God. Cause I don't want to give my
- 41:09Speaker 1: girlfriend the ick. So like she was working at my
- 41:12Speaker 1: apartment and she works for a news station. So she's
- 41:14Speaker 1: cutting videos and like listening very intently. But I just
- 41:17Speaker 1: got home and I was super hungry and had some
- 41:19Speaker 1: chicken in the fridge. And I know when I eat chicken,
- 41:21Speaker 1: I'm like a caveman with it. I go in with
- 41:24Speaker 1: my hands, and I'm just throwing it in my mouth.
- 41:26Speaker 1: And so I go to the corner of the kitchen.
- 41:28Speaker 1: I have a very small apartment. So the living room
- 41:30Speaker 1: is about three feet from the kitchen. You have a curtain.
- 41:32Speaker 1: You close the curtain. I was hurled over the counter,
- 41:37Speaker 1: and I'm just ingesting all this chicken. And she looks
- 41:40Speaker 1: at me, and she's like, what the hell are you doing?
- 41:42Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm eating. I don't want to sit next
- 41:46Speaker 1: to you. And what, you're hearing all the.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Giving me all this food. I'm like, I'm not trying
- 41:50Speaker 1: to give the egg.
- 41:51Speaker 2: You do have the weirdest food habits.
- 41:53Speaker 1: I do. I admittedly, like if there's something wrong with people,
- 41:56Speaker 1: it's the way I eat. I eat very like plain,
- 41:58Speaker 1: just plain. I don't know, I guess gross at times.
- 42:02Speaker 1: You know, I bought yesterday, I bought a turkey leg
- 42:04Speaker 1: from Publix just so I could heat that sucker up.
- 42:06Speaker 1: And I'm going to call it caveman meals. Every now
- 42:09Speaker 1: and then, or every week, I'm going to do a
- 42:10Speaker 1: caveman meal.
- 42:11Speaker 2: That's a good series for people who are trying to
- 42:13Speaker 2: do the carnivore diet.
- 42:13Speaker 1: Yeah, like I'm just going to heat up this turkey
- 42:15Speaker 1: leg and I'm just going to sit there and I'm
- 42:16Speaker 1: just going to gnaw on a bone. Everyone has something
- 42:19Speaker 1: wrong with them. That's mine.
- 42:21Speaker 3: But I mean, like, for example, the last date that
- 42:23Speaker 3: I went on that got me off hinge, I was like,
- 42:25Speaker 3: this is a gay man.
- 42:25Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 42:26Speaker 2: So it's not like, oh, he eats really sloppily. Like,
- 42:30Speaker 2: when you're in love, you can look over that. I
- 42:32Speaker 2: can't look over the fact that this man has better...
- 42:36Speaker 2: Has better nail polish on.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Than I do.
- 42:37Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 42:38Speaker 1: He smells better. He looks better. His hair is better. Yeah,
- 42:41Speaker 1: he's not for me. Yeah. Who's the guy that then, like,
- 42:45Speaker 1: you haven't seen anything wrong with him. Yet. Yeah.
- 42:48Speaker 2: I saw, I liked his profile picture. I can't tell
- 42:51Speaker 2: how old the photo is. That's my one concern. I
- 42:55Speaker 2: feel like we're getting to that age where people start
- 42:56Speaker 2: posting old photos. And I'm, I'm always, I'm always getting hotter.
- 43:00Speaker 2: So I'm constantly always posting new photos of myself.
- 43:02Speaker 1: That's right. You know what? At least that's going up.
- 43:05Speaker 2: This guy is cute. Here's the possible pitfall.
- 43:10Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
- 43:11Speaker 2: He says he's 5'11. And there's nothing wrong. Listen, I'm
- 43:14Speaker 2: into 5'11. The problem is if you say you're 5'11,
- 43:17Speaker 2: you're not 5'11.
- 43:20Speaker 1: With how much is this talked about, I hope every
- 43:22Speaker 1: guy has it ingrained in their head not to lie
- 43:24Speaker 1: about it. You would think. It's like the hat thing. Guys,
- 43:27Speaker 1: if you're going to wear a hat all the time,
- 43:29Speaker 1: be honest. Do you have hair under that thing?
- 43:31Speaker 2: Don't be a hat fish. But he looks relatively normal.
- 43:35Speaker 1: And his photos, like, I mean, do like the scale
- 43:37Speaker 1: to proportion. Is he standing next to a car or
- 43:39Speaker 1: a building?
- 43:40Speaker 2: Well, here's him standing next to his mom.
- 43:42Speaker 3: He looks tall next to his mom, but his mom
- 43:44Speaker 3: could be like four feet tall.
- 43:46Speaker 1: No, he doesn't look short. I'm saying he's probably. Here's
- 43:48Speaker 1: the thing. As long as he's taller than you, does
- 43:50Speaker 1: that matter?
- 43:51Speaker 2: As long as he's, listen, it's less about height.
- 43:54Speaker 1: He looks like a very nice young man.
- 43:55Speaker 2: He looks like a job standing gentleman.
- 43:58Speaker 3: This is what I want to ingrain in men's mind.
- 44:01Speaker 2: It's kind of less about the height and more about
- 44:04Speaker 2: the feeling that women have when they're with you. And
- 44:07Speaker 2: so you don't need to be six foot seven to
- 44:10Speaker 2: make a woman feel kind of like dainty and, um,
- 44:15Speaker 2: I don't know what's the right word. Like we just
- 44:17Speaker 2: kind of want to feel like you, You're a dude.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I know what you mean. You know what
- 44:21Speaker 1: I mean?
- 44:22Speaker 2: Because I've dated guys who are 6'5, but they're, like, scrawny.
- 44:25Speaker 2: And so, like, don't get me wrong, I like that
- 44:26Speaker 2: they're tall, but at the same time, I'm like.
- 44:29Speaker 2: I remember I was dating a guy who's tall, not scrawny,
- 44:34Speaker 2: but he was definitely, like, thin. And he tried to, like,
- 44:38Speaker 2: lift me up on the kitchen counter. And he struggled.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Oh, no. Do you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 44:44Speaker 2: And so, like, I had to, like, lifted myself up.
- 44:47Speaker 2: And so then I was like, it's not that that
- 44:49Speaker 2: gave me the ick, but in the back of your mind,
- 44:52Speaker 2: it's kind of like, okay.
- 44:54Speaker 1: Okay.
- 44:54Speaker 2: Do you know what I mean?
- 44:55Speaker 1: No, I get it, because I'm, like, for a guy, I'm...
- 44:58Speaker 1: I know my height. So I've always done the opposite.
- 45:00Speaker 1: I'm like, well, I'm going to be as strong and
- 45:02Speaker 1: as big as I can be.
- 45:03Speaker 2: If you can't grow vertically, grow horizontally.
- 45:05Speaker 1: That was always my method. I was like, you're going
- 45:07Speaker 1: to know that I'm a powerful man around you. Like,
- 45:09Speaker 1: that's my favorite thing that I will look over and
- 45:11Speaker 1: I'm not tall, but I like when I have a
- 45:12Speaker 1: moment I could just look over Brianna and I'm like,
- 45:15Speaker 1: I got you.
- 45:15Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I mean. So girls want to feel
- 45:17Speaker 2: that way. Like this guy could get me if he
- 45:19Speaker 2: needed to. Like if I, if I fell, if I
- 45:22Speaker 2: fell down, he's not going to like fall down with me.
- 45:24Speaker 2: He's going to be like, Oh God, I got you.
- 45:26Speaker 1: I got you. He's probably going to carry you. Like
- 45:27Speaker 1: have you ever seen that video? Oh, I don't know.
- 45:30Speaker 1: There's a guy that picks on people on Instagram, but
- 45:32Speaker 1: it was a guy like, He couldn't carry his wife
- 45:34Speaker 1: after the wedding and he had to have his best
- 45:36Speaker 1: man carrier. Yes.
- 45:38Speaker 2: No, nobody.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Yes. I know.
- 45:40Speaker 2: I know that's horrible, but like, yes.
- 45:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:43Speaker 2: I want to, I want to feel like you can
- 45:44Speaker 2: carry me and I'm not going to be like, Oh God,
- 45:46Speaker 2: I need to loosen.
- 45:46Speaker 1: No. Yeah. It's like, Oh my God. To have your
- 45:48Speaker 1: best man do it or have somebody else do it.
- 45:50Speaker 2: I'm like, that's, that's a sign right there. So anyway,
- 45:53Speaker 2: it looks like he works out. He looks normal. The
- 45:55Speaker 2: only thing that kind of gave me the ick and
- 45:57Speaker 2: I know this sounds dumb. This, I know this sounds dumb.
- 46:00Speaker 1: That's valid.
- 46:01Speaker 2: He used the smiley face with the semicolon and the parentheses.
- 46:07Speaker 2: He said, hello, parentheses, colon. And he did it backwards, too.
- 46:12Speaker 2: It's not even the right way.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Oh, so it's like parentheses?
- 46:16Speaker 2: It wasn't even the correct way, colon, parentheses.
- 46:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 46:19Speaker 2: It was parentheses, colon. He was like, hello, who?
- 46:24Speaker 1: I guess everyone has their thing.
- 46:25Speaker 2: So then I responded, hello, hello. And then, oh, here's
- 46:31Speaker 2: the other thing. I liked him first.
- 46:33Speaker 1: That's fine. Yeah, because he might not have seen you.
- 46:35Speaker 2: He might not have seen me. So then he responded,
- 46:37Speaker 2: because I don't know what it is. I think my worst... Okay,
- 46:42Speaker 2: here's a survey for you. This will be a good
- 46:43Speaker 2: clip for the Instagram. Abby, clip this. You, as a
- 46:47Speaker 2: heterosexual man, I would like for you to give me
- 46:51Speaker 2: your prediction. Which do you think is the photo that men...
- 46:55Speaker 2: Double-tap the most on my hinge.
- 46:57Speaker 1: On your hinge that they double tap the most bring
- 46:59Speaker 1: it Which one do you.
- 47:00Speaker 2: Think is getting the most likes and comments because it's
- 47:04Speaker 2: I think my worst photo The I think it's my
- 47:07Speaker 2: worst photo. This is the one that gets the most traction, okay?
- 47:11Speaker 1: That's the one that gets the most traction.
- 47:12Speaker 2: No. I'm giving you my profile Oh, you're giving your
- 47:14Speaker 2: permission to take my phone and scroll through okay.
- 47:17Speaker 1: Let's see. That's a really nice.
- 47:19Speaker 2: Photo the first one Yeah, my friend Tay Tay mm-hmm.
- 47:22Speaker 1: Wow, that's a good photo at the... Am I allowed
- 47:24Speaker 1: to say where they're at? Yeah, yeah, you can describe it.
- 47:26Speaker 2: You can literally show it to the camera.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Okay, so there's Abby at the Rays game. Go Rays.
- 47:31Speaker 1: That's very sporty. It's very fun. You in the dress. Ooh,
- 47:33Speaker 1: very chic.
- 47:34Speaker 2: Very chic. It's my new profile picture.
- 47:36Speaker 1: Very rich.
- 47:36Speaker 2: Me in front of the Italian sunset.
- 47:38Speaker 1: Oh, look at you on a boat. Is that a
- 47:40Speaker 1: recent one in Italy?
- 47:41Speaker 2: Uh-huh. Me and Capri. See, I'm giving you new photos
- 47:44Speaker 2: so when I show up to the date, you're like, oh,
- 47:45Speaker 2: this is what she looks like.
- 47:46Speaker 1: Yeah, like all angles. You're going to get me at
- 47:48Speaker 1: all angles.
- 47:48Speaker 2: That's nice. This is me in Nantucket with my margarita.
- 47:50Speaker 1: A little glass of wine. You... Your eyes are popping
- 47:53Speaker 1: in that photo.
- 47:54Speaker 2: I feel like me and my cousin look really good
- 47:55Speaker 2: in that photo.
- 47:56Speaker 1: That is a great photo. I'm going to say the
- 47:57Speaker 1: one that gets the most likes and attention has to be...
- 48:02Speaker 1: For sure, you at the Raze game.
- 48:03Speaker 2: Okay, that is it. I think that's my worst photo.
- 48:06Speaker 1: That's crazy. It's not your worst photo.
- 48:07Speaker 2: Can you describe the male psychology of that?
- 48:11Speaker 1: That's a tough one.
- 48:13Speaker 2: I will give you my female psychology to why I
- 48:15Speaker 2: think this photo is my worst photo. So here's my psychology.
- 48:20Speaker 2: All I see when I see this photo is how
- 48:23Speaker 2: fried my hair looks.
- 48:25Speaker 1: That's what you, oh God, we would have never seen that.
- 48:27Speaker 2: That's so funny to me because I'm like, damn, my
- 48:29Speaker 2: flat iron was on level 500.
- 48:31Speaker 1: No, we don't see any of that.
- 48:34Speaker 2: I see that. I don't think my, this isn't me
- 48:38Speaker 2: trying to be like sexual, but like I don't look
- 48:39Speaker 2: like I have like a chest in this photo. And
- 48:42Speaker 2: then my arms don't look as toned as they are now.
- 48:45Speaker 2: Like the photo right below it, like I looked more,
- 48:47Speaker 2: I look more like I lived. And then I'm not
- 48:51Speaker 2: really smiling. My smile looks kind of weird. I got, like,
- 48:54Speaker 2: a scrunchie on. Like, it just, I don't know. It
- 48:56Speaker 2: doesn't make sense to me. So, like, what's, give me
- 48:58Speaker 2: the psychology.
- 48:59Speaker 1: I would say that it's that, one, the colors of
- 49:02Speaker 1: the photo are absolutely popping.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Okay, so it's, like, the vibrancy of the photo.
- 49:06Speaker 1: The aesthetic immediately grabs our attention. Two, you're showing, and
- 49:10Speaker 1: this is this guy brain, like, you're showing a lot
- 49:11Speaker 1: of skin. Really? All your arms are out. You're even, like,
- 49:14Speaker 1: your tank tops, like. kind of showing a little bit
- 49:17Speaker 1: of your belly, like, here I am. I'm at a
- 49:20Speaker 1: sporting event. I don't have to smile.
- 49:21Speaker 2: So I guess with that psychology, I would have said that.
- 49:24Speaker 1: This photo would have gotten more traction. That would be
- 49:25Speaker 1: number two.
- 49:26Speaker 2: Okay, because this, to me, is the sexiest photo. Because it's, like, lace, black, legs,
- 49:31Speaker 2: and then... alcohol whereas I'm like I'm wearing jeans and
- 49:35Speaker 2: a tank top.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Yeah but that look for guys I don't know what
- 49:38Speaker 1: it is it's just.
- 49:39Speaker 2: That really okay I get that because there are certain
- 49:41Speaker 2: things that men will wear that it doesn't make sense
- 49:43Speaker 2: but like in your lady lizard brain you're like what's
- 49:46Speaker 2: the noise oh lord I'm so sorry to people with misophonia.
- 49:51Speaker 1: Oh yeah no um yeah I would say those probably
- 49:53Speaker 1: are the top.
- 49:54Speaker 2: Two okay well those are my top two so thank
- 49:56Speaker 2: god yeah you got the right order now that I'm
- 49:58Speaker 2: back on hinge um but to me like If I'm
- 50:01Speaker 2: a girl, or if I'm going with this and thinking
- 50:04Speaker 2: what my most liked photo would be, I put this
- 50:06Speaker 2: one because I feel like it's sexy, but you can
- 50:08Speaker 2: also see me.
- 50:09Speaker 1: Yeah, you look like a badass there.
- 50:11Speaker 2: Also, I'm like, look, I have friends.
- 50:12Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 50:15Speaker 2: And then, to me, my best photo is my new
- 50:18Speaker 2: profile picture, me in the blue dress.
- 50:22Speaker 1: I mean, they're all good photos.
- 50:23Speaker 2: Yeah. I'm like, this is the photo I want you
- 50:25Speaker 2: to see when you're on your deathbed and you're like.
- 50:27Speaker 1: My wife, my wife. I miss her so much.
- 50:29Speaker 2: I miss her so much. That to me is like, yeah.
- 50:31Speaker 1: It's very interesting because guys' brains are like, we don't
- 50:34Speaker 1: need a lot. We just need enough. We're like, nice.
- 50:37Speaker 1: It's fun.
- 50:39Speaker 3: Nice.
- 50:40Speaker 1: Nice.
- 50:40Speaker 2: So anyway, he didn't comment on that photo, but he
- 50:44Speaker 2: just said, are you a baseball girl? And I just said,
- 50:47Speaker 2: I'm just kind of a sports in general girl.
- 50:49Speaker 1: I mean, that is also a good point because it's
- 50:51Speaker 1: the one thing that we could relate to immediately.
- 50:52Speaker 2: Sports?
- 50:53Speaker 1: Sports.
- 50:54Speaker 2: And that's why I keep it in there, even though
- 50:56Speaker 2: I don't think I necessarily look great in that photo,
- 50:58Speaker 2: even though everybody else thinks I look great in that photo. Um,
- 51:01Speaker 2: I'm just like, oh, you can, if anything, just talk
- 51:03Speaker 2: to me about the Rays.
- 51:04Speaker 1: Yeah, you look like a sportsy, badass chick.
- 51:06Speaker 2: Yeah, so anyway, then he asked me out to a
- 51:08Speaker 2: playoff game. I was like, well, hell yeah, I'm getting
- 51:10Speaker 2: playoff tickets, bitch.
- 51:11Speaker 1: Hell yeah. Oh, so he already asked you out.
- 51:13Speaker 2: He already asked me out. Thank God. I can't do
- 51:15Speaker 2: the pen pal thing. I can't do the pen pal thing.
- 51:17Speaker 1: I was looking at my old messages because I was
- 51:19Speaker 1: talking about this on the show, but I did the
- 51:20Speaker 1: trend where it's like screenshot. You know, the first messages
- 51:24Speaker 1: that you have to your partner than the latest ones.
- 51:26Speaker 1: And I remember y'all giving me so much crap for
- 51:29Speaker 1: how long it took me to ask out Brianda. I
- 51:32Speaker 1: messaged her on, like, the 22nd.
- 51:34Speaker 2: Of February? Yeah.
- 51:35Speaker 1: And I asked her out on, like, the 24th. It was, like,
- 51:38Speaker 1: two days.
- 51:39Speaker 2: Two days feels like forever, though, when you're just, like, gabbing.
- 51:44Speaker 2: I give a guy 24 hours to ask me out.
- 51:46Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 51:47Speaker 1: 24 hours. I stepped by that. 48 sounded solid.
- 51:49Speaker 2: Here's the thing. She, she knew she was into you. Like,
- 51:51Speaker 2: and you guys have mutual friends. So she wasn't going
- 51:53Speaker 2: to bounce. But the thing is, is your vibe is just,
- 51:57Speaker 2: you can just tell instantly when you're, when you're next
- 51:59Speaker 2: to someone, whether or not there's chemistry.
- 52:01Speaker 1: You don't need to that point.
- 52:02Speaker 2: First, you really don't need more than five minutes to know.
- 52:05Speaker 2: And that's why I got off the apps because I'm like,
- 52:07Speaker 2: I'm spending so much of my time meeting these guys
- 52:11Speaker 2: are not so much, but I mean, that's like, two
- 52:13Speaker 2: or three hours on a weeknight probably.
- 52:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 52:16Speaker 2: Just to meet some guy who's going to make me
- 52:17Speaker 2: feel worse about myself.
- 52:19Speaker 1: You're like, wait, actually I feel like more shit. So
- 52:22Speaker 1: how long did he take? Was it 24 hours? No.
- 52:24Speaker 2: I mean, I, I think we matched, I liked him yesterday. Um, wow.
- 52:30Speaker 2: And then, or no, I liked him Sunday night and
- 52:33Speaker 2: then he responded Sunday night and then I responded Monday
- 52:37Speaker 2: morning and then we weren't really talking yesterday. He like,
- 52:42Speaker 2: He didn't respond until we went back.
- 52:44Speaker 1: Okay.
- 52:44Speaker 2: I'll just give you the play by way. Yeah. Um,
- 52:46Speaker 2: you liked his photo Sunday night and then I was
- 52:48Speaker 2: in bed. So he responded while I was sleeping. And
- 52:50Speaker 2: then the next morning I said, hello. And then he said,
- 52:54Speaker 2: baseball girl. And that was cute. Like five minutes after that.
- 52:59Speaker 2: And then like five minutes after that, I said, just
- 53:01Speaker 2: sports in general, girl. And then last night he responded,
- 53:05Speaker 2: love that. I like going to games, need a date
- 53:07Speaker 2: for them. And I said, same here. So that works
- 53:09Speaker 2: pretty well. give me your playoff tickets, bitch. And then
- 53:14Speaker 2: he said, Ray's playoff game. And I said, I could
- 53:16Speaker 2: be persuaded. Maybe meet just for drinks first, just to
- 53:20Speaker 2: make sure we don't hate each other.
- 53:21Speaker 1: That's funny, but that's so real though.
- 53:23Speaker 2: But that's exactly how I feel. Cause I'm, I think
- 53:26Speaker 2: if you've gone on enough hinge dates, you know, five minutes, like,
- 53:32Speaker 2: So I don't want to sit next to you at
- 53:34Speaker 2: a baseball game.
- 53:35Speaker 1: I know, it's already boring. For six hours. And now
- 53:36Speaker 1: we're going to sit next to each other for the
- 53:38Speaker 1: whole time?
- 53:38Speaker 2: I know. But if this works out, it would be cute.
- 53:41Speaker 2: My parents met at a baseball game.
- 53:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:45Speaker 2: Well, I mean.
- 53:45Speaker 1: I know, I'm just joking. But you can get drinks
- 53:47Speaker 1: at Ferg's. It's almost like The Bachelor. It's like you
- 53:49Speaker 1: get drinks at Ferg's, and the rose is a ticket
- 53:52Speaker 1: to the game. That's actually so funny. I'm worried that's
- 53:55Speaker 1: what he thinks I mean, though.
- 53:57Speaker 2: If the playoff gate, when's the next playoff game?
- 53:59Speaker 1: I have no idea. I don't think the playoffs have
- 54:00Speaker 1: started yet. I could be speaking out my butt right now. Yeah.
- 54:05Speaker 1: Just look up the Rays schedule.
- 54:06Speaker 2: When are the Rays playing in the playoffs? That's a
- 54:12Speaker 2: lot of pressure, though, because what if they.
- 54:13Speaker 1: Oh, this Saturday.
- 54:14Speaker 2: This Saturday?
- 54:15Speaker 1: They kick it off.
- 54:16Speaker 2: Fuck, it's a Gator game. First... It's a Gator game
- 54:18Speaker 2: and the Lightning home opener this Saturday.
- 54:20Speaker 1: So you go to the Fergs. Go to the Fergs.
- 54:23Speaker 1: You go to Fergs. You get a drink. You watch
- 54:25Speaker 1: a little bit of Lightning. I don't know. They don't
- 54:26Speaker 1: have the time yet.
- 54:27Speaker 2: Do we not get Lightning tickets?
- 54:29Speaker 1: I think we are. Mike just messaged me.
- 54:31Speaker 2: What did he say?
- 54:31Speaker 1: He said, can I swing by Re-Lightning? I don't know
- 54:34Speaker 1: what that means. Can you swing by Re-Lightning?
- 54:36Speaker 2: Yeah. So it's like when you respond to an email,
- 54:38Speaker 2: Re colon Lightning. He's replying about the Lightning thing. But he....
- 54:45Speaker 1: Oh, okay. In response to the Lightning.
- 54:47Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes.
- 54:47Speaker 1: So go to his office. Yeah, yeah. Okay, yeah. I
- 54:50Speaker 1: think we'll be good then. I don't think he's about
- 54:51Speaker 1: to bring me over to his office and tell me, no.
- 54:54Speaker 3: He's probably going to tell us no, but that's probably
- 54:56Speaker 3: what it is.
- 54:57Speaker 1: I don't maybe it's not that we just we don't
- 54:59Speaker 1: might not get the fanciest.
- 55:01Speaker 2: Girl, that's fine.
- 55:03Speaker 1: They could so okay.
- 55:04Speaker 2: They have a playoff game this Saturday They'll win that though,
- 55:08Speaker 2: so we could go on Monday or Wednesday.
- 55:11Speaker 1: Go on Monday No, or bleep. Let's find out what's.
- 55:14Speaker 2: Going on Wednesday I could do Wednesday like I'd like
- 55:16Speaker 2: to get drinks this weekend while I'm already doing something
- 55:19Speaker 2: So I don't have to go out of my way
- 55:20Speaker 2: to see this man But I would like to just
- 55:22Speaker 2: meet him immediately like I hate doing.
- 55:24Speaker 1: The oh you're talking about getting drinks like this week Wednesday.
- 55:27Speaker 2: Oh Oh, well, no, the next scheduled playoff games are Saturday,
- 55:31Speaker 2: next Monday, next Wednesday.
- 55:33Speaker 1: But I think the next Wednesday is away. Yeah.
- 55:40Speaker 2: Becoming a hockey fan is really.
- 55:41Speaker 1: I know, it's tough. Wait, did you say you're going
- 55:43Speaker 1: to the game Monday, too?
- 55:45Speaker 2: I kind of want to go to the one. I
- 55:46Speaker 2: haven't asked for tickets yet, but I kind of want
- 55:48Speaker 2: to go to that one.
- 55:48Speaker 3: Dang.
- 55:49Speaker 2: I kind of do. Playing the Flyers.
- 55:51Speaker 1: That'd be sweet.
- 55:51Speaker 2: Have you seen the drama? Side note, we do have
- 55:53Speaker 2: to wrap this up. Have you seen the drama with
- 55:55Speaker 2: the Flyers reporter dating one of the players?
- 55:58Speaker 1: No.
- 55:58Speaker 2: Okay, I'm going to show you everything afterwards we can
- 56:01Speaker 2: discuss tomorrow. And then what do we have to talk
- 56:02Speaker 2: about tomorrow? So tomorrow on the pod, they talked about.
- 56:07Speaker 2: They had Warren Sapp on.
- 56:08Speaker 1: Yeah, so Warren Sapp joined our coworkers. Like, the Mike
- 56:11Speaker 1: Calta show is one of the big shows here. It's
- 56:13Speaker 1: next door on 102.5 The Bone.
- 56:14Speaker 2: Someone that called me a four.
- 56:16Speaker 1: Yeah, that whole situation. But, like, we're friends now, family.
- 56:20Speaker 1: And they did end up talking about me to Warren Sapp.
- 56:22Speaker 1: Because it was originally going to be about the whole
- 56:24Speaker 1: case that he has with the city.
- 56:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 56:25Speaker 1: And then I definitely heard my name and situation mentioned
- 56:29Speaker 1: in there.
- 56:29Speaker 2: We don't know what they talked about yet.
- 56:30Speaker 1: I don't. I don't know the full extent of it.
- 56:33Speaker 1: Here's where I will say... It might be looking up
- 56:36Speaker 1: based off because I did hear the end of the
- 56:38Speaker 1: conversation and where I was like re-brought up into the conversation.
- 56:43Speaker 1: It didn't sound like you wanted to punch me. I
- 56:45Speaker 1: don't think.
- 56:46Speaker 2: It's like your biggest fear. This man's not going to
- 56:48Speaker 2: hit you.
- 56:48Speaker 1: I don't think he's going to hit me.
- 56:50Speaker 2: He hit enough people during his NFL career. I think
- 56:52Speaker 2: he's hit out.
- 56:53Speaker 1: You know what it is, though? I think what's deep
- 56:55Speaker 1: down is like I hate not being liked. Like it
- 56:57Speaker 1: just bothers me where I'm like, the hell?
- 57:00Speaker 2: What?
- 57:01Speaker 1: I don't want beef.
- 57:01Speaker 2: I don't think this man likes anybody though.
- 57:03Speaker 1: It's valid.
- 57:04Speaker 2: It's not like a personal thing.
- 57:05Speaker 1: But now it's like in me, you know what it is?
- 57:06Speaker 1: Now it's like, I want to win him over. I
- 57:09Speaker 1: want to now be like, I'm just going to stop
- 57:12Speaker 1: giving a shit.
- 57:12Speaker 2: Anyway.
- 57:13Speaker 1: You know what?
- 57:13Speaker 2: We got to go see Mike and then we got
- 57:15Speaker 2: to go see Jenna.
- 57:15Speaker 1: There it is. All right. Well, we'll be back tomorrow
- 57:17Speaker 1: and I'll give you the update on that because I
- 57:18Speaker 1: got to listen through and see what's waiting for me
- 57:22Speaker 1: at the Sunday tailgate.
