- 0:00Chapter 51 of Jeremiah. This one's another interesting
- 0:04one because there is a definite prophecy about Nebuchadnezzar
- 0:12and Babylon being destroyed at that time.
- 0:15But this is also another one of those prophecies that appears to
- 0:19have some similarities to future prophecy, and maybe in our
- 0:24future too. And as we've noticed in the
- 0:26Bible, history repeats itself. So let's get started with a
- 0:30prayer first. Dear God, please be with us as
- 0:33we read through this chapter and give us wisdom and insight from
- 0:37the Holy Spirit. Answer questions we may have and
- 0:40let us know the what you want us to take away from this.
- 0:45We ask this in Jesus name, Amen. So this is what the Lord says.
- 0:51See, I will stir up the spirit of a destroyer against Babylon
- 0:58and the people of Leb Kemi. I'm going to pause right there.
- 1:03The very first sentence that this has a lot of we have to go
- 1:10back again and I I repeat this so often, but I think it's so
- 1:14important that Ephesians 612 how we are not wrestling against
- 1:19people, but there is a spirit behind these things and this is
- 1:22what God is saying. See, I will stir up the spirit
- 1:28of a destroyer. So we are mind body in spirit
- 1:34and so our spirit is influenced in the spiritual realm just like
- 1:39with God and worshipping God. It says those who truly worship
- 1:42me will worship me in spirit. I hadn't looked that up but I
- 1:46was just that just came to me right now as I'm starting to
- 1:49read this. So The Who we worship is is a
- 1:54spiritual thing. And because a spirit is
- 1:58something unseen, we can't always recognize it.
- 2:05So. But I want to give some other
- 2:07examples in future. In the future.
- 2:12It says in Revelation Chapter 9 verse 11, they had as king over
- 2:18them the Angel of the abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon
- 2:25and in Greek is Apollyon. That is destroyer.
- 2:31So there's an Angel of the abyss and the name is ultimately
- 2:36Destroyer. That's what this name is.
- 2:39And so it says God is saying, see, I will stir up the spirit
- 2:44of a destroyer. So this again, it's showing how
- 2:49the spiritual realm like God stirs up the spirit and the
- 2:53spirit influences people. Now when we go to a another
- 2:58verse and about when God has done this before in Exodus he
- 3:05did this so in second Kings chapter 19 verse 35, it says
- 3:10that night the Angel of the Lord, an Angel is sometimes
- 3:15called messenger. The Angel of the Lord went out
- 3:19and to death. 100 And oh I'm sorry, this is not this is not
- 3:24the the Exodus, but there is an Angel of death in Exodus.
- 3:28So I take that back. This is about during a battle
- 3:33and it was written twice 1st and 2nd Kings 1935 and secondly in
- 3:42Isaiah 3736 where God used an Angel and he put to death
- 3:49185,000 in the Assyrian camp when the people got up the next
- 3:54morning there were all these dead bodies.
- 3:56So this is where God supernaturally defended Israel
- 4:00and took care of it that way. I had meant and I I didn't look
- 4:05at it this in Egypt during the Exodus when the first born were
- 4:12killed that was the Angel of death as well.
- 4:15So I want to look that up to get those actual verses for that.
- 4:21Gosh, I can't find it first born.
- 4:27All right, I am not finding it, but the let's see, I'll look at
- 4:34Passover because that's when it was, was Passover, Passover,
- 4:44Exodus 12. Oh no, that's this.
- 4:51It is the Passover sacrifice that OK, so Passover is
- 4:54reminiscent of it where it's when the Angel of death passed
- 4:59over the homes of the Israelites, so that not, you
- 5:05know, the ones who had been marked by the blood of the lamb,
- 5:07which was again symbolic of Jesus.
- 5:11And it protected them. The blood of the lamb on their
- 5:14doorpost protected the people who were in Egypt from the Angel
- 5:21of death. And I, I wanted to find that
- 5:24actual verse here, but I just am not finding it, which is OK.
- 5:40So it's OK. It is in Exodus chapter 12.
- 5:49And he gave them warning. Well, it talks about it's that's
- 5:55talking about Passover, the actual festival and remembering
- 6:00it, the actual event. I'm not, I should have looked it
- 6:06up because this is not working well in a live podcast.
- 6:09So anyway, just it is in the Bible that there was this, this
- 6:15Angel of death that went throughout Egypt and killed the
- 6:18first born. But anyone who had their door,
- 6:21their doorways marked with the blood of the lamb, as God had
- 6:25told them to do, they were all spared.
- 6:27And so this is, you know, another time what I was trying
- 6:32to get to was another time when God sent a destroyer and two to
- 6:40take care of business for him. And then there is another one in
- 6:46first Kings chapter 22, verse 22, where God does this again
- 6:52and actually will start at at verse 20.
- 6:56And the Lord said who will entice Ahab?
- 7:00Ahab was a king into attacking Rhemoth Gilead and going to his
- 7:06death there. One suggested this and another
- 7:10that. Finally a spirit came forward,
- 7:15stood before the Lord and said, I will entice him.
- 7:20By what means, The Lord asked. I will go out and be a deceiving
- 7:26spirit in the mouths of all his prophets.
- 7:29He said. You will succeed in enticing
- 7:33him, said the Lord. Go and do it.
- 7:36So now the Lord is deceiving spirit in the mouths of all
- 7:39these prophets of yours. The Lord has declared, declared
- 7:42decreed disaster for you. So this shows again how this is
- 7:47in the presence of the Lord. So it was Mike, Micaiah
- 7:54continued. Therefore hear the word of the
- 7:56Lord. I saw the Lord sitting on his
- 7:58throne with all the multitudes of heaven standing around around
- 8:03him on his right and on his left.
- 8:05So this prophet had a, a vision where he saw the Lord and he
- 8:13was, you know, asking like who's going to entice him?
- 8:18So these are things that this prophet saw and God actually did
- 8:27this like God is in control. So God gave this spirit the
- 8:31authority to go and do this. So again we see that God is
- 8:35doing it again. He's saying, see, I will stir up
- 8:38the spirit of a destroyer. So God uses people, spirits who
- 8:47have desires of their own to accomplish his purpose, like he
- 8:52needed this to happen to accomplish his purpose.
- 8:56And so he allows the free will of something other.
- 8:59But it doesn't mean that they go without harm.
- 9:02Like they can do what they want to do, but that doesn't mean
- 9:05that they won't be punished. We'll see this later for if it
- 9:10something, you know, evil. So anyway, this is, let's see,
- 9:17it says what is what? OK, Why say Leb Kamae instead of
- 9:22Babylon? We don't know.
- 9:24The phrase can be literally translated.
- 9:26The heart of those who rise against me.
- 9:30Other cryptograms, OK, it talks about it's a cryptogram, so it
- 9:35gives a special name, but it means a heart of those who rise
- 9:39against me. So so God is going against the
- 9:43people whose hearts are turned against him and it says I will
- 9:48send foreigners to Babylon. Now we have to also remember
- 9:52that ancient Babylon is modern day Iraq.
- 9:56We talked about that in the last chapter 2 So I will send
- 9:59foreigners to Babylon to winnow her and devastate her land.
- 10:03They will oppose her on every side.
- 10:07So again, think about this. They're opposing on every side.
- 10:10And when we, you know, it talks about an alliance coming against
- 10:17Babylon and, and we'll see that a little bit later as well.
- 10:23So it's going to be kind of surrounding her on every side.
- 10:26In the day of her disaster. Let not the Archer string his
- 10:30bow nor let him put on his armor.
- 10:33Do not spare her young men, completely destroy her army.
- 10:39They will fall down. Slain in Babylon, fatally
- 10:42wounded in her streets. For Israel and Judah have not
- 10:47been forsaken by the Lord, their the, the by their God, the Lord
- 10:52Almighty, though their land is full of guilt before the Holy
- 10:56One of Israel. So right here God is saying that
- 11:00even though Israel is guilty, they have not been forsaken.
- 11:05They have not been forgotten. God is still standing up for
- 11:08them even though even through their guilt because God stands
- 11:13by his word, people may not, but God does so then continuing it
- 11:18says flee from from Babylon, run for your lives.
- 11:23Do not destroy, be destroyed because of her sins.
- 11:29So here is another place where it has somewhat of a repetition
- 11:35because it talks about the sins like idolatry, a false God.
- 11:42Again, this is very repetitious throughout the history of the
- 11:45Bible is seeking other things, going to other entities instead
- 11:51of going to God. And that's how people get
- 11:54destroyed when they worship something else.
- 11:57And in this case, we're going to see kind of like we talked about
- 12:00in the last chapter, how there are spiritual entities that
- 12:04people worship, maybe knowingly or unknowingly, or they're
- 12:07influenced by them. And this is a warning to all
- 12:10people that we all need to turn to God and, and to be when we
- 12:16turn to God, we're protected in that way.
- 12:18Like God is in control of everything that goes on.
- 12:22And he will be the one that can keep us from harm, can protect
- 12:27us, but we have to stay close to him.
- 12:29We can't be half in, half out and be worshipping other
- 12:34entities like we were talking about before.
- 12:37There's all these different names that these other gods, you
- 12:41know, like Baal, Baal, Marduk, Kemesh, Molek, Ishtar, Inana,
- 12:48Ashtarath, all those things. Those are all like other
- 12:52entities, I think spiritual entities that made themselves
- 12:58known to others and presented themselves like gods to people.
- 13:02And people worship them because as we learned in the prior
- 13:06chapter, they were making cakes and praying to the queen of
- 13:10Heaven. And then they they stopped it
- 13:14for a bit. But when they stopped it, things
- 13:17didn't work out well for them. So then they went back to this
- 13:21and God was just so frustrated with them.
- 13:23They were thinking that and they were thinking they were being
- 13:28punished because they stopped worshipping basically, or the
- 13:33Queen of Heaven. But in reality they were being
- 13:36punished because they were doing that.
- 13:38And so they had no discernment. They didn't know what was going
- 13:41on. But again, God repeatedly allows
- 13:45for destruction of people who are worshipping something else
- 13:51other than God. So it's a word of warning to all
- 13:53of us that we need to be very careful that we don't put
- 13:56something as a greater priority than God.
- 14:00So it says here, it is the time for the Lord's vengeance.
- 14:04He will repay her what she deserves.
- 14:07Again, we have to remember that God is just and it's very much
- 14:12like we see that I I this verse came to mind about what Jesus
- 14:18said and a little bit later. Like do unto others as you would
- 14:22have them do unto you. And I think there is much more
- 14:26to that. I mean, it's like, OK, everybody
- 14:28be kind because you want other people to be kind to you.
- 14:31Well, that's one way of looking at it.
- 14:33But the other way is that God is just.
- 14:35And if we are doing evil things to other people, then the way
- 14:40the Bible shows us, it looks like that stuff will be done to
- 14:45us. The stuff we do to others is
- 14:48going to come upon us, whether it's in this life or at
- 14:51judgement time. God will have justice happen.
- 14:58So, you know, it says like it is time.
- 15:01So there's a specific time that God waits for these things to
- 15:04happen. It is time for the Lord's
- 15:06vengeance. He will repay her for what she
- 15:08deserves. Now as far as judgment goes, it
- 15:14does seem that, you know, God doesn't usually do a well, He
- 15:19does have a final judgement at some point, but he often gives
- 15:23us many warnings before his final judgement.
- 15:27And we don't know when that's going to be for each of us, like
- 15:31when our own life ends, because that's when judgement will occur
- 15:34for us. But along the way, God will give
- 15:39us opportunities and sometimes we ignore them, but we, if we
- 15:43were wise, we would listen when we get that feeling of I should
- 15:49be doing this and it's something that God says is good.
- 15:53You know, when we get that feeling, we need to follow
- 15:56through with doing what we, what we get the feeling about when
- 16:01it's in accordance with God's word, because that's probably
- 16:05the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God trying to influence us,
- 16:10trying to get us to wake up, but we don't always respond to it.
- 16:14And that's like these people of Israel.
- 16:16If we quit, if we stop responding to God, it's only
- 16:19going to be destruction that occurs.
- 16:23And that's historically repeated throughout the Bible.
- 16:26So it says, you know, God, God repays for what is deserved.
- 16:33Now he also, what I was going to say is that when he forgives us,
- 16:37it says he remembers our sins no more.
- 16:40So I don't believe that after we've been forgiven, we will be
- 16:44punished for what we've done there.
- 16:47But there may be some natural consequences as a result of what
- 16:52we did, like the the natural consequences of what we did
- 16:56don't just disappear. They they've, you know, happen
- 17:00and we just have to live with that.
- 17:02But as far as once somebody is repentant God, when they turn to
- 17:07God, the way I understand scripture is that it says like,
- 17:11I will remember their sins no more.
- 17:13So if he's forgotten our sins and because of what Jesus did on
- 17:17the cross for us, it seems like he's not going to punish us for
- 17:22that. And if we are in Christ, we are
- 17:25covered by the blood of Christ. Christ's sacrifice covers our
- 17:29you know, just like the the Israelites were protected by the
- 17:33blood of the lamb during the Passover in Egypt when all the
- 17:36first born were killed, we also will be protected by the blood
- 17:41of Jesus Christ when it comes to destruction.
- 17:47So there are, that's a great reward that we don't suffer the
- 17:53wrath of God from the things that we've done.
- 17:57Like we don't get what we deserve.
- 17:59We don't get the vengeance of God because we've trusted in
- 18:05Jesus and he took the wrath of God for us on the cross.
- 18:11That's what he did there. So continuing on in verse 7,
- 18:15Babylon was a Gold Cup in the Lord's hand.
- 18:19She made the whole earth drunk. The nation strank her wine.
- 18:23Therefore they have now gone mad battle Babylon will suddenly
- 18:29fall and be broken. So I'm going to pause there
- 18:33because there are some things that we should make a note of.
- 18:39So in Revelation chapter 17, this is when Babylon is talked
- 18:44about, and it's very similar. Again, this is the future.
- 18:49When I talk about Revelation, this was a vision that occurred
- 18:53to one of Jesus's disciples, John, and it was while he was on
- 18:57the island of Patmos. He had this vision.
- 19:00He had these appearance from Jesus and these things were told
- 19:05to him. So this is much later.
- 19:09So what in Jeremiah's time, this is BC the Book of Revelation was
- 19:14written around 90 AD. So there are, you know, this is
- 19:19like Jeremiah was like in the five hundreds BC and then
- 19:24Revelation. So that's what fight like almost
- 19:26600 years apart, these two visions, but they really tie
- 19:31together not yeah, I guess it is 2 visions because Jeremiah had
- 19:36this, you know, he was told, I don't know if it was a vision,
- 19:39but he was told what God was saying about what he was going
- 19:43to do with Babylon. And then John has a vision where
- 19:49he actually sees things and Babylon is referenced again.
- 19:53So if you want to read about Babylon in the in the New
- 19:56Testament, what John saw from the island on Patmos, it's in
- 20:00found in Revelation chapter 17. And when it describes her, it's
- 20:07very similar to what's described here.
- 20:09So 1st I'm going to read Jeremiah 51 again.
- 20:12Babylon was a Gold Cup in the Lord's hand.
- 20:14She made the whole earth drunk. So when it says, here's what it
- 20:20says. The Revelation 17 verse 4, the
- 20:23woman which is Babylon was dressed in purple and scarlet
- 20:27and and was glittering with gold, just stones and pearls.
- 20:31She held a golden cup in her hand, filled with the abominable
- 20:37thing, abominable things, and the filth of her adulteries, the
- 20:42name written on her forehead. It's a Mystery Babylon, the
- 20:47great mother of prostitutes and of the abominations of the
- 20:52earth. I saw the woman was drunk with
- 20:56the blood of God's holy people, the blood of those who bore
- 21:01testimony to Jesus. When I saw her, I was greatly
- 21:05astonished. So then it continues and it it
- 21:10tells it's then it says like the then the Angel said to me, why
- 21:15are you astonished? I will explain to you the
- 21:17mystery of the woman and of the beast she rides, which has the
- 21:24seven heads and 10 horns. So this is very complex
- 21:29spiritual part of things. And just like we were talking
- 21:33before, I'm drawing this conclusion with Babylon being
- 21:39Ishtar, R Inana or the queen of R Astarte, or I think it might
- 21:45be Astra 2, which is Ishtar, all of those names and the queen of
- 21:51heaven. Like it really does seem like
- 21:54there is this like somewhat feminine, but it was almost like
- 21:59androgynous. And again, when God calls
- 22:02certain things certain kinds of sexual sin abominations, it
- 22:07seems like this entity very much represents that.
- 22:12And it says like she's the mother of prostitutes and of
- 22:15abominations of the earth. The things that God said is a is
- 22:19an abomination. So, and it's like sexual type
- 22:23sin and, and also it's tied with wealth and riches, you know, the
- 22:28way that she's dressed with gold and purchase stones and pearls
- 22:31and, and she's, you know, I guess has a vengeance on God's
- 22:37holy people because she's drunk on the blood of them.
- 22:42Like it was, you know, it's kind of like, almost like that
- 22:45Jezebel kind of spirit. Jezebel was the wife of Ahab,
- 22:48the king of Israel, the northern 10 tribes of Israel.
- 22:52So she, he Ahab was evil. He listened to his wife who had
- 22:58a very bad, but she was probably influenced by this spirit as
- 23:02well. And so it seems like this
- 23:05Babylonian spirit is something that God is warning us about and
- 23:09it's connected to evil. You know, at one point I was
- 23:12thinking, you know, it was Satan, but it seems so, you
- 23:15know, maybe it is Satan appearing as an Angel of light,
- 23:20and not that this is appearing as an Angel of light, but he can
- 23:23masquerade as something else. But then it also, it could be
- 23:28another entity besides Satan, which when you read in
- 23:32Revelation, it does seem like there are different entities.
- 23:37So there's this woman, which is Babylon, or I think like Ishtar,
- 23:43Inana, all those things, some like goddess of, you know,
- 23:47whoever who she is, I have no idea.
- 23:49But she's been named throughout the Bible and, and she's somehow
- 23:53connected with Babylon, you know, and, and if they give
- 23:57land, if God does divide up the land into principalities in the
- 24:02heavenly realms and certain entities have control over the
- 24:06land, which it seems like that's how God operates from what's
- 24:09written in the Bible, then she could very well have her place
- 24:14in her venue is probably Babylon or Iraq.
- 24:20And that's where she, that's like her headquarters or where
- 24:23she is. And she's, she's ruling from for
- 24:27a certain amount of time that God's allowing and, and in fact,
- 24:32it says it even shows God's mercy here because it says we
- 24:36would have healed Babylon, but she cannot be healed.
- 24:41You know, maybe she can't be healed because she just
- 24:43completely rejects God and wants to be God, just like Satan.
- 24:49You know, he, he's had, I mean, it's not the end of the earth
- 24:54yet, but God has written the prophecy that, you know, he's
- 24:58going to end up in the burning lake of sulfur because God
- 25:03already knows his heart. He knows what choices he's going
- 25:06to make. And Satan, I guess, believes
- 25:09he's going to be able to battle God, which is foolish.
- 25:13Like it's kind of like when God said, you know, can the clay
- 25:17tell the Potter what to do? It's the Potter that tells, you
- 25:21know, that forms the clay. So Satan was created.
- 25:24He's he's not, he's not God. And so I don't know why he
- 25:29thinks he can overcome it, but he's going to attempt.
- 25:34And that's what Bible prophecy tells us.
- 25:36So we know the like God's God knew the end from the beginning,
- 25:40and he knew what choices, what he could foresee, what would
- 25:45happen, and whether people would change or not.
- 25:48And so again, Babylon is like one of those people who just
- 25:51won't change. And there are people who are
- 25:54also like this that reject God and they just won't change.
- 25:58There won't be a greater convincing argument that anyone
- 26:03can give that's going to sway somebody's minds, some people's
- 26:06minds. They're just not going to
- 26:07change. It's, you know, God wants us all
- 26:11to talk to people about that. So hopefully they can come to
- 26:16the truth and make their own decision.
- 26:19But no one can force somebody to believe something that they
- 26:22don't believe. And so some people will believe
- 26:25this and other people won't. But this is kind of the secret
- 26:30of what's going to happen. Not really a secret because it's
- 26:32published, but it's a secret because many people don't read
- 26:36the Bible, so they don't know what's coming up.
- 26:38But again, this is like a spiritual thing.
- 26:42And Babylon is talked about in Revelation 17, and it's very
- 26:46similar to what Jeremiah saw. That's the point I'm trying to
- 26:49get across now. There's something else that says
- 26:51Babylon will suddenly fall and be broken.
- 26:55And so I had looked up to find out like how Babylon was
- 27:03conquered and it wasn't a sudden thing.
- 27:06The Medes started it. Then the Persians came along
- 27:10too. Now the Medes and the Persians
- 27:11were part of modern day Iran. So just, you know, they're very,
- 27:18they're close, I guess, in proximity to the land territory.
- 27:25But it, you know, in the Bible, it'll say maybe, you know, the
- 27:28Medes did this or the Medes and the Persians, which I think it
- 27:31does say. So it wasn't necessarily the
- 27:37solely the Medes according to history that conquered.
- 27:42And that's why I also think that this is a foreshadowing of a
- 27:49future fulfillment, just because Babylon's talked about, again,
- 27:52you know, 600 years later as a future thing that will happen.
- 27:58And there are many similarities between what Jeremiah prophecies
- 28:03about Babylon and what John saw in his vision about Babylon.
- 28:07But they were at two different times.
- 28:09So this is definitely about Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon,
- 28:15being conquered by certain people.
- 28:19But I think there's also something future that's woven
- 28:22into it. And that's why prophecy can be
- 28:25so complex in understanding because it like it says Babylon
- 28:30will fall suddenly. Apparently Babylon didn't fall
- 28:34suddenly. It was the Medes, then the
- 28:36Persians, then it kind of like just disappeared and it just
- 28:39kind of fell away. But in Revelation chapter 18
- 28:44verse 10, it talks about destruction being suddenly like
- 28:49in one hour. So that is a different kind of a
- 28:56a disappearance of Babylon. And so I think that again, for
- 29:03that reason, that perhaps it is something that is yet yet to
- 29:12happen. So in Revelation 18, verse 10,
- 29:15what it says, terrified at her torment.
- 29:18This is talking about Babylon's fall.
- 29:20They will stand. This is talking about people
- 29:22standing far off and crying. Woe, woe to you great city, you
- 29:29mighty city of Babylon. In one hour your doom has come.
- 29:35The merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her because
- 29:39no one buys their cargoes anymore.
- 29:41And then it goes on to describe a lot of things and it says they
- 29:48let's see the verse in in verse 9, it says how the kings of the
- 29:54earth shared with her luxury, but they will see the smoke of
- 29:58her burning. They will weep and mourn over
- 30:01her. So this is something that people
- 30:04of the earth will see. There's going to be this fiery
- 30:07destruction, which this does, this prophecy from Jeremiah does
- 30:11talk about a fire that's going to happen.
- 30:15And anyway, so again, God's mercy, it says we would have
- 30:23healed Babylon, but she cannot be healed.
- 30:26Let us leave her and each go to our own land for her judgement
- 30:31reaches to the skies. It reaches as high as the
- 30:36heavens. Is that like also symbolic of
- 30:40the tower of Babylon? You know, they wanted to reach
- 30:42to the heavens. So verse 10, the Lord has
- 30:46vindicated us. Come, let us tell in Zion what
- 30:50the Lord our God has done. Sharpen the arrows, take up the
- 30:54Shields. The Lord has stirred up the king
- 30:58of Medes. So that's northwestern Iran.
- 31:01That's the modern day land of the territory of Medes because
- 31:06his the Lord's purpose is to destroy Babylon, which is modern
- 31:11day Iraq. The Lord will take vengeance,
- 31:15vengeance for his temple. Now the temple was destroyed by
- 31:21King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. He took a lot of things out of
- 31:26the the first temple and took it to the Babylonians, to Babylon.
- 31:34He took those things there. So lift up the banner against
- 31:39the walls of Babylon, reinforce the guard station, the watchman,
- 31:43prepare and ambush. The Lord will carry out his
- 31:47purpose, his decree against the people of Babylon.
- 31:51You who live by many waters and are rich in treasures.
- 31:56Your end has come the time for you to be destroyed.
- 32:00Now you who live by many waters. That also reminded me of
- 32:04Revelation 17, because it says in there, I'll have to find that
- 32:11one again. I have all these different tabs
- 32:14open. So it again like it it just
- 32:18references so many different parts of the Bible that makes it
- 32:25challenging to get to the text that I want to get to.
- 32:28So you who live by many waters. So when it describes her, it
- 32:34says let's see, I want to find the part where it talks about
- 32:41that when it maybe it's like the.
- 32:51OK, it says then in verse in Revelation 17, verse 15.
- 32:56Then the Angel said to me, the waters you saw where the
- 33:00prostitute sits, that's Babylon, are peoples, multitudes, nations
- 33:08and languages. So this is, you know, in the
- 33:12Tower of Babel. That kind of makes sense too,
- 33:13because remember God confused their language and that's where
- 33:16all the different languages came about.
- 33:18But the waters you saw. So this is like a a symbol of
- 33:23where the prostitute sits are people, multitudes, nations and
- 33:31languages. So it's like this, this
- 33:33prostitutes in the middle of a whole bunch of people,
- 33:36multitudes, nations. So again, if this is a spirit of
- 33:40like Ishtar or Inana, and it is just everybody who focuses on
- 33:46wealth and on sexuality against what God defines as appropriate,
- 33:53any kind of like sex stuff, sexual sins and those kinds of
- 33:56things, anything like that. And Even so far as abortion,
- 34:02just because of Molech and everything that God is, all of
- 34:07these like little G gods that are opposing God, it's a
- 34:11spiritual influence. And it's still the way I see the
- 34:15world today. It it seems very active and
- 34:18alive. The spiritual influence is still
- 34:20happening in our world. And it it does say, like I said
- 34:25in Revelation 17, this is what John saw and was documented
- 34:29around 90AD. So he saw that this entity was
- 34:35something, this Babylon was something surrounded by all
- 34:38kinds of people's nations and everything.
- 34:40Like it went everywhere, this spirit.
- 34:42And again, the idolatry seems to be the thing that God gets most
- 34:47upset about because of who he is.
- 34:51So you who live by many waters, so the waters are referring to
- 34:55people's multitudes and nations. And so I see that also in here,
- 35:01another commonality the Lord Almighty has sworn by himself, I
- 35:05will surely fill you with troops as with a swarm of locust, and
- 35:09they will shout in triumph over you.
- 35:11And that's kind of interesting too.
- 35:13I didn't look that up, but in the Book of Revelation it does
- 35:17talk about these warriors that look like locusts.
- 35:22And I think often armies of people are described as locusts
- 35:27throughout the Bible. Though he made, going back to
- 35:30verse 15, he made the earth by his power.
- 35:33He founded the world by his wisdom, and stretched out the
- 35:37heavens by his understanding. When he thunders, the waters in
- 35:41heaven roar. He makes clouds rise from the
- 35:44ends of the earth. He sends lightning with rain and
- 35:47brings out the wind from his storehouses.
- 35:50Everyone is senseless and without knowledge.
- 35:53Every Goldsmith is shamed by his idols.
- 35:56The images he makes are a fraud. They have no breath in them.
- 36:02Now I want to pause on this one too, because this is a number
- 36:06another similarity in the found in the Book of Revelation and
- 36:12what happens in the future. So these images back in the day
- 36:16of Jeremiah, they had no breath in them.
- 36:19They were they were a fraud. But what is coming to the world
- 36:25is written about in Revelation chapter 13, and I'm trying to
- 36:31find that. OK, so the second beast, this is
- 36:34the beast that comes out of the earth and it's it's the false
- 36:38prophet was given power to give breath to the image of the first
- 36:46beast so that the image could speak and 'cause all who refused
- 36:53to worship the image to be killed.
- 36:56So isn't that kind of interesting that this thing is
- 36:59like going to appear to like come alive and it's going to an
- 37:04image is going to be able to speak.
- 37:07And the way that it does is from power that comes through this
- 37:16false prophet. This false prophet is given
- 37:18power. I believe the power is given to
- 37:22them by Satan. And so again, this is, you know,
- 37:29the the beast in Babylon, the Babylon the prostitute is
- 37:34writing is sitting on the beast, so it sound and it says that the
- 37:38beast hates her. The beast does not like Babylon,
- 37:42but Babylon is controlling the beast of some sort.
- 37:45If it's writing, if it's sitting on top of it, it's somehow over,
- 37:50you know, overpowering. Is it in control?
- 37:52Is it controlling the beast? The beast is actually made of of
- 37:55human beings. And so, but whatever it is, they
- 38:00don't like of Babylon who was in control.
- 38:04So the beast actually turns on Babylon.
- 38:08So that's another thing that I just that came to mind as I'm
- 38:12speaking. This was, you know, is this
- 38:15beast going to be made-up of Iran?
- 38:19That's just a question. I have no idea.
- 38:25But you know, the beast turns on Babylon.
- 38:27So does history repeat where ancient Babylon was conquered by
- 38:32the Medes and the Persians? Will the future Babylon, the
- 38:37beast, when it turns on it, is it going to be a beast entity
- 38:40that's made-up of Iran? Like I said, that just came to
- 38:44my mind as I was talking. So who knows?
- 38:47But it's just something to keep in the back of our minds as we
- 38:49see things play out in the world because some of these things
- 38:53really seem like they're forming right now.
- 38:56So verse 18, they are worthless, the objects of mockery.
- 39:00When their judgement comes, they will perish.
- 39:03He who is the portion of Jacob is not like these, for he is the
- 39:08maker of all things, including the people of his inheritance.
- 39:12The Lord Almighty is his name. Now to me this is talking about
- 39:16Jesus verse 19, and Jeremiah is talking about Jesus says the
- 39:20portion of Jacob. Now the way I see the portion of
- 39:24Jacob is I think about he's a part of Jacob and he's a
- 39:30descendant from the tribe of Judah.
- 39:32So he came from from Jacob and that's Jesus and it's, you know,
- 39:38then it says for he is the maker of all things.
- 39:40So he's the creator, including the people.
- 39:43He creates people. The Lord Almighty is his name.
- 39:46So this is God and he is a portion of Jacob.
- 39:50So that's the way I see it is he's a descendant from Judah,
- 39:53from the tribe of Judah. Now the study Bible has a
- 39:56different explanation. It says who is the portion of
- 39:59Jacob and it says God. Jacob was the key patriarch in
- 40:03the history of Israel and God was the inheritance, the
- 40:07possession or portion of Israel. The word portion has legal
- 40:11implications that relate to the special relationship between God
- 40:16and his chosen people. So.
- 40:21I don't know which is correct, but that's just what came to me
- 40:23as I'm reading this. So verse 20 you are this is like
- 40:28God. I mean, this is to me.
- 40:31This is like the Father talking to the Son in my understanding
- 40:36of this. So listen to the verse 20.
- 40:39You are my war club, my weapon for battle.
- 40:42With you I shatter nations. With you I destroy kingdoms.
- 40:47With you I shatter horse and rider.
- 40:49With you I shatter chariot and chariot and driver.
- 40:52With you I shatter man and woman.
- 40:54With you I shatter old man and youth.
- 40:56With you I shatter young men and young woman.
- 40:59With you I shatter shepherd and flock.
- 41:01With you I shatter farmer and oxen.
- 41:03With you I shatter governors and officials.
- 41:08Well, this could be him talking to or about you know, I mean
- 41:15just because it came right after he who is the portion of Jacob
- 41:21is not like these. So he explains all of these
- 41:24things and then it says you are my war club.
- 41:27So I guess it, you know, it could mean the Medes and
- 41:34Persians, but it could also mean Jesus when he comes back with
- 41:39the wrath of God, you know, and it could again mean both.
- 41:43It could mean the Medes and the Persians initially, and then it
- 41:47could mean Jesus later when he comes back with God's wrath for
- 41:52all nations. Just something to keep about.
- 41:56Actually, here's what the study Bible says about this.
- 42:00Who was God's war club? Some think this refers to
- 42:03Israel, whom God used to defend His Holiness by engaging in the
- 42:08fight against sin and Satan. Others think it refers to Cyrus,
- 42:14whom God used to destroy Babylon.
- 42:17Still others think this refers to Babylon whom God had used as
- 42:22an instrument of judgement on Judah and so I had so look at
- 42:27you can see how many different opinions there are and I just
- 42:29threw out another one that maybe he's because it was just talking
- 42:33like I think it's Jesus that he was talking about in verse 19
- 42:37and then in verse 20. I feel like this is what's going
- 42:42to happen here. So before your eyes.
- 42:45I will repay Babylon and all who live in Babylonia for all the
- 42:50wrong they have done in Zion, declares the Lord.
- 42:54I am against you, you destroying mountain, you who destroy the
- 43:00whole earth. So that's another thing that
- 43:05Babylon does. She makes drunk the whole earth.
- 43:09She's like destroying the whole earth and and it's like she sits
- 43:13on hills on the seven hills or mountains where she dwells on
- 43:19the mountains and not in a literal sense, but mountains are
- 43:25sometimes like the strongholds and it there there's another
- 43:34verse that's really interesting. It's Revelation 18, verse four.
- 43:39I heard another voice from heaven saying, come out of her,
- 43:41my people, so that you do not share in her sins, so that you
- 43:45will not receive any of her plagues.
- 43:49For her sins are piled up to heaven and God has remembered
- 43:52her crimes. So again, remember that this is
- 43:56what it says about Babylon, literal Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar.
- 44:03It says, you know, it rises as high as the heavens and then the
- 44:07future Babylon, it says the same thing about her sins.
- 44:11It it just, to me, it sounds like we are talking about the
- 44:14same entity here and it's just repetitious.
- 44:18But the spiritual entity who influenced Nebuchadnezzar, who
- 44:23influences someone in the end times as well, and God's going
- 44:29to destroy it. Eventually I will stretch out my
- 44:33hand against you, roll you off the cliffs.
- 44:37So it this is where it talks about dwells on the mountains.
- 44:40In Revelation 17, it talks about Babylon doing that and make you
- 44:44a burned out mountain. No rock will be taken from you
- 44:49for a cornerstone nor any stone for a foundation for you will be
- 44:54desolate forever. So all throughout history,
- 44:57Babylon has been influencing people and causing people to go
- 45:02against God. But this is what I really took
- 45:05away from that was this word cornerstone, because that is how
- 45:10Jesus is described. He is the rock, He is the
- 45:14cornerstone, He is the foundation.
- 45:17And so it it brings about a lot of there's 12 verses that talk
- 45:22about the cornerstone. So in Psalm 118, verse 22, the
- 45:30stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.
- 45:33We'll see later. This is talking about Jesus,
- 45:36Isaiah 28, verse 16. So this is what the sovereign
- 45:40Lord says. See, I lay a stone in Zion, a
- 45:44tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure
- 45:48foundation. The one who relies on it will
- 45:50never be stricken with panic. That's trusting in Jesus.
- 45:54Jeremiah 51, That's what we were reading.
- 45:57The next it's Zechariah 10, verse 4.
- 46:00From Judah will come the cornerstone, from him the tent
- 46:05peg, and from the battle bow. From him the battle bow, from
- 46:10him every ruler. So from Judah will come the
- 46:14cornerstone again. Jesus came from the tribe of
- 46:17Judah. That's written in Zechariah
- 46:19chapter 10 verse 4. Then Matthew chapter 21 verse
- 46:2342. Jesus said to them, have you
- 46:26never read in the Scriptures? The stone the builder rejected
- 46:29has become the cornerstone. The Lord has done this and it is
- 46:32marvelous in our eyes. And in Mark chapter 12 verse 10,
- 46:38haven't you read the passage of Scripture?
- 46:39The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.
- 46:43Luke chapter 20, verse 17, Jesus looked at them and asked then
- 46:47what is the meaning of that which is written?
- 46:50The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone.
- 46:54It might be good to kind of go back to that.
- 46:58Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces.
- 47:00Anyone to whom it falls will be crushed.
- 47:03The teachers of the law and the chief priests looked for a way
- 47:06to arrest him immediately because they knew he had spoken
- 47:09this parable against them, but they were afraid of the people.
- 47:14So it doesn't really say that they understood what he meant,
- 47:19but they knew it was against him and is very interesting because
- 47:24everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces.
- 47:29That's almost like, you know, taking up your crucifix or
- 47:32taking up your own cross and, you know, dealing with that.
- 47:37And anyone on whom it falls will be crushed.
- 47:40It's like Jesus, you know, it also goes back to the book of
- 47:43Daniel where you know the stone comes out of this the statue
- 47:48dream that he has and it crushes the toes of this huge statue
- 47:52which you know is this about Babylon and about the other gods
- 47:57idolatry like Jesus is going to crush it.
- 48:03So in Acts chapter 4 verse 11, it says Jesus is the stone you
- 48:11builders rejected, which has become the cornerstone.
- 48:16And Paul says in Ephesians chapter 2 verse 20 built on the
- 48:20foundation of the apostles and the prophets with Christ Jesus
- 48:24himself as the chief cornerstone.
- 48:28And first Peter chapter 2 in a couple verses 6 and seven it
- 48:32says this for in Scripture it says, see I lay a stone in Zion,
- 48:36a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who
- 48:40trusts in him will never be put to shame.
- 48:43Now to you who believe this stone is precious, but to those
- 48:48who do not believe the stone the builders rejected has become the
- 48:54cornerstone and and a stone that causes people to stumble and a
- 49:01rock that makes them fall. They stumble because they
- 49:05disobey the message, which is also what they were destined
- 49:10for. So that's what happens to people
- 49:15who refuse Christ is that they will not be in eternity with
- 49:22God. So let's see, going back to I'm
- 49:29finding where I was in here. So Babylon's not going to have a
- 49:33cornerstone. Then verse 27 from Jeremiah 51,
- 49:39lift up a banner in the land, blow the trumpet among the
- 49:43nations. Again, here's this trumpet
- 49:46reference and the trumpet is like a war cry calling out like
- 49:52a long time ago when God assembled the tribes, there were
- 49:55certain trumpet calls, 1 sound that would mean they were going
- 49:59out to war. Another sound was to gather
- 50:03people, and I think that has prophetic significance as well.
- 50:07So it says prepare the nations for battle against her, summoned
- 50:10against her, these kingdoms. Now wait, we're hearing who
- 50:14these kingdoms are that are coming against Babylon.
- 50:17And we know it was an alliance, and it says Ararat, Minnie and
- 50:24Ashkenazes. So I looked up where these were
- 50:28and let's see. Ararat is like in Turkey, and
- 50:34that's like where actually Noah's Ark has been discovered,
- 50:37so on the mountains there. So it's Turkey, modern day
- 50:41Turkey. And then Minnie was in
- 50:44northwestern Iran and then Ashkenaz is kind of western
- 50:52Germany. So it almost sounds like the
- 50:54alliance is Iran, Germany and Turkey.
- 51:00And that's kind of interesting. And Germany's not really
- 51:02factoring into what's happening today.
- 51:04But if Germany starts coming into play with what's happening
- 51:08today with alliances, boy, you know, we should reflect back on
- 51:13Jeremiah 51. But so it's, it talks about
- 51:17those three and Germany where Ashkenazi, Ashkenazi or
- 51:23Ashkenazi. That's, this is really
- 51:26interesting because it also says that Ashkenaz, his name is
- 51:31related to the Assyrian. And a lot of times it talks
- 51:36about the Assyrian out of the north and it talks about like in
- 51:40the last days. And so a lot of people have
- 51:44certain beliefs about the Assyrian.
- 51:46But when you read what it says about Ashkenaz in the Hebrew
- 51:50Bible, is one of the descendants of Noah.
- 51:53Ashkenaz is the first son of Gomer and a Gephetic patriarch
- 51:59in the table of nations in rabbinic literature, the
- 52:02descendants of Ashkenaz were first associated with the
- 52:05Scythia. And that was let's, let's see
- 52:12there's a little bit more Scythian cultures then later
- 52:15with the Slavic territories and from the 11th century onwards
- 52:21with Germany and Northern Europe or the Indo European people in a
- 52:28manner similar to Zarfat. It's in Lebanon are Serafod and
- 52:37that's the Iberian Peninsula referring to present day Spain
- 52:41and Portugal. So his name is related to the
- 52:46Assyrian? How?
- 52:49I don't really know the Scythians.
- 52:52They were. Let's see.
- 52:53The Scythians assists were also known as known as the Pontiac
- 52:56Scythians. They were an ancient, ancient
- 53:00Eastern ironic equestrian nomadic people who migrated
- 53:06during the 9th to 8th centuries BC from Central Asia to the
- 53:11Pontiac Steep in modern day Ukraine and southern Russia,
- 53:17where they remained until the 3rd century and they expelled
- 53:21the Gemara and they were another nomadic people.
- 53:28So but it, it says from the Armenian highland of the upper
- 53:32Euphrates area. So it, it does get really
- 53:35interesting. So whether it's Germany, I mean,
- 53:37you can see it's a lot of Europeans that are.
- 53:42That may be why, you know, a lot of times people associate the
- 53:48Antichrist with someone of European descent.
- 53:51So I guess, you know, the Assyrian could be like in
- 53:55Turkey, it could be all of these different Slavic territories,
- 54:00European territories. There's lots of possibilities.
- 54:04And so the only one like this, Ashkenaz, I guess we could look
- 54:10into that a little bit more or just keep that kind of open.
- 54:13It could mean a lot of different things, but it looks like Iran
- 54:18and Turkey and somebody else or the alliance that go against
- 54:21Babylon, go against Iraq. So maybe see what happens in the
- 54:27future. Pay attention to it because it
- 54:29just seems like that's that's a possibility.
- 54:34Because I did look up to say was Ashkenaz involved in the
- 54:41destruction of ancient Babylon? And the answer that I got was in
- 54:46the biblical book of Jeremiah, the ancient Kingdom of Ashkenaz
- 54:50is prophesied to be among the peoples who would attack
- 54:53Babylon. Historically, troops from the
- 54:56people identified with Ashkenaz, known as Ashkuza or Scythians in
- 55:02Assyrian records, were likely part of the larger Persian army
- 55:07that conquered Babylon, which occurred without significant
- 55:10resistance or the city's widespread destruction.
- 55:15So again, this is saying this is kind of lumping them in with
- 55:19Iran. So it could just be Turkey and
- 55:21Iran and with the ancient or there could be another third
- 55:26party. But just I guess, something to
- 55:31pay attention to. It's definitely Iran, There's no
- 55:34question about that, because of Medes and Persia and stuff like
- 55:37that. And Babylon, I mean, that's
- 55:39historical and it's also like prophetic.
- 55:42So the question is, what is Ashkenaz for the future?
- 55:46And, you know, are we making too big of a deal of it?
- 55:50Is it really ultimately a group of people who are part of, you
- 55:55know, the Iranian area that did this back then and that's why
- 56:01they're called out? I don't know.
- 56:03So again, with prophecy, you just have to it doesn't it
- 56:07surely doesn't seem like it's like very definite.
- 56:11It seems like and it was an assumption that was made.
- 56:14So again, just keep your eyes open on it.
- 56:17So appointed commander against her, send up horses like a swarm
- 56:20of locusts, prepare the nations for battle against her.
- 56:24The king of Medes, their governors and all their
- 56:27officials and all their countries.
- 56:29They rule the land trembles and rise for the Lord's purpose
- 56:33against Babylon, Against Babylon.
- 56:36Stand to lay waste the land of Babylon so that no one will live
- 56:40there. Babylon's warriors have stopped
- 56:43fighting. They remain in their
- 56:45strongholds. It almost sounds like a
- 56:47spiritual stronghold. Their strength is exhausted.
- 56:51They have become weaklings. Her dwellings are set on fire.
- 56:56The bars of her gates are broken.
- 56:59So again, that brings me to Revelation 18-8, where it says
- 57:05that Babylon is going to be put on.
- 57:07You know, it's going to be on fire, and it's going to be this
- 57:09alarming thing that people are going to stand and see and be
- 57:12like, whoa, look at what just happened.
- 57:15And from history, it doesn't sound like that's how Babylon
- 57:19was conquered back then. It seemed like it was more of a
- 57:22gradual thing that occurred over time.
- 57:25So that's again another reason why I think this is both, you
- 57:29know, Jeremiah's time and a future prophecy.
- 57:33Verse 31, one Courier follows another, the messenger and
- 57:36messenger follows messenger to announce to the king of Babylon
- 57:41that his entire city is captured, the river crossings
- 57:45seized, the marshes set on fire, and the soldiers terrified.
- 57:50This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel says.
- 57:53Daughter Babylon is like a threshing floor at the time it
- 57:59is trampled. The time to harvest her will
- 58:03soon come. OK.
- 58:05Does that refer to the end times?
- 58:08Does that refer to the grape harvest in Revelation chapter 14
- 58:14where it's a wine press? Those are just things that I
- 58:19wonder as I read this if this is a future event and that is the
- 58:24final time for Babylon to be ultimately destroyed because
- 58:30that's that's when it sounds like it finally happens is in
- 58:37the Book of Revelation is when it actually finally happens.
- 58:43So Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon has devoured us.
- 58:46He has thrown us into confusion. He has made us an empty jar like
- 58:50a serpent. So again, we see that if you
- 58:54want to talk about what comes from a person that identifies
- 58:58the spirit behind it, it says like a serpent.
- 59:01So the serpent has always been tied to evil, tied to Satan, and
- 59:09so Satan is somehow connecting. Is it a spiritual thing, like a
- 59:13serpent? He has swallowed us and filled
- 59:15his stomach with our delicacies, and then he has spewed us out.
- 59:20Well, there's an interesting verse in Revelation too, that
- 59:24talks about this, this, the beast and the woman Israel.
- 59:29And it talks about the dragon who is Satan, and it talks about
- 59:34him spewing against her. And let's see, this is OK.
- 59:42It says, OK, so this is more about the serpent and the whole
- 59:50spewing. There's a lot of interesting
- 59:54things about here. There's it occurs 16 times the
- 1:00:00serpent's talked about and it might just be worth talking
- 1:00:02reading through these things. So in Genesis chapter 3 verse
- 1:00:05one now the serpent was more crafty than any of the other
- 1:00:08wild animals the Lord had made. He said to the woman, did God
- 1:00:12really say you must not eat from any tree in the garden?
- 1:00:15So the serpent is Satan. We'll see later, but.
- 1:00:19In verse 2, the woman said to the serpent, we may eat fruit
- 1:00:23from the trees in the garden, and then there's more that comes
- 1:00:26and then the certain says you will not certainly die.
- 1:00:30The serpent said to the woman, you know, that's just like Satan
- 1:00:33saying to all of us, you know, you could sin, you're not going
- 1:00:36to die, you're not going to, you know, all this stuff.
- 1:00:39Then the Lord said to the woman, what is this you have done?
- 1:00:42The woman said the serpent deceived me and I ate, and
- 1:00:46that's what Satan does. So the Lord said to the serpent,
- 1:00:49because you have done this cursed are you above all
- 1:00:52livestock and all wild animals, you will crawl on your belly and
- 1:00:56you will eat dust of all the days of your life.
- 1:00:59So this serpent, I don't think it was a snake to begin with
- 1:01:05because this is what he said to this is going to be the
- 1:01:08punishment of the serpent, but it was probably something else.
- 1:01:13We could look into what it actually the actual word for the
- 1:01:18serpent is Nahas and it's like serpent.
- 1:01:22It is snake fleeing serpent. So there's a lot of description
- 1:01:28on that. And I I'm not going to even get
- 1:01:31into all that. But anyway, it's the Bible is
- 1:01:36true and we just have to maybe understand or take time to
- 1:01:40understand it when there's anything confusing in there.
- 1:01:45So it does talk about in Job, which is supposedly the oldest
- 1:01:50book in the Bible. By his breath, the skies became
- 1:01:53fair. His hand pierced the gliding
- 1:01:55serpent. So this is the that ancient
- 1:01:58thing. The serpent's also connected to
- 1:02:00Leviathan in the book of Job, and then it says that you will
- 1:02:07tread on the lion and the cobra. You will trample the great lion
- 1:02:11and the serpent. That's in Psalms 91.
- 1:02:15And then in Isaiah 14 it says do not rejoice, all you
- 1:02:20Philistines, that the rock that struck you is broken from the
- 1:02:25root of that snake will spring up a Viper.
- 1:02:29Its fruit will be a darting venomous serpent.
- 1:02:33So this is some serpent that, you know, is continuing in the
- 1:02:36land of the Philistines, which is where that historical land
- 1:02:40is, Gaza. So it seems like is this a
- 1:02:43spiritual, you know, the stuff that has happened in Gaza into
- 1:02:47Israel's certainly seems like there's some evil spiritual
- 1:02:51influence there. Okay, so in Isaiah, this is the
- 1:02:55one who makes the connection about Leviathan and the serpent.
- 1:02:59It says in that day the Lord will punish with his sword.
- 1:03:02This is chapter 27 of Isaiah verse one.
- 1:03:06In that day the Lord will punish with his sword, his fierce,
- 1:03:09great and powerful sword, Leviathan, the gliding serpent,
- 1:03:13Leviathan the coiling serpent. He will slay the monster of the
- 1:03:18sea. So is again, is that a metaphor?
- 1:03:24Is that really Satan? And he's the monster of the sea.
- 1:03:27The beast comes up out of the sea and so does the sea mean
- 1:03:33multiples of people and nations and things like that.
- 1:03:36Just something to think and reflect on and pray about.
- 1:03:41Jeremiah 46, it says Egypt will hiss like a fleeing serpent as
- 1:03:46as the enemy advances they will come against her with axes like
- 1:03:49men who cut down trees. So again, Egypt also has this
- 1:03:53this spiritual thing going on and that makes a lot of sense
- 1:03:56too, because of their religion and the the way that they
- 1:04:00worship. It's not the true God.
- 1:04:03So that makes a lot of sense. And then Jeremiah 51, which
- 1:04:07we're reading, and then Amos Chapter 9, verse three, though
- 1:04:16they hide themselves on the top of Carmel, there I will hunt
- 1:04:19them down and seize them. Though they hide from my eyes at
- 1:04:22the bottom of the sea, there I will command the serpent to bite
- 1:04:26them. That's interesting too.
- 1:04:29And then in Revelation chapter 12, it says the great dragon was
- 1:04:34hurled down that ancient serpent called the devil or Satan, who
- 1:04:41leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth and
- 1:04:45his angels with him. So there's the fallen angels and
- 1:04:50the great dragon. We see that Satan's the dragon,
- 1:04:54he's a serpent, he's called the devil, there's all these
- 1:04:57different names, and he also has angels who side with him and
- 1:05:01work with him. Here's the part that I wanted to
- 1:05:04talk about, the spewing of the water that we were on.
- 1:05:07So Revelation 12/15. Then from his mouth, the serpent
- 1:05:12spewed water like a river to overtake the woman and sweep her
- 1:05:18away with the torrent. The woman is Israel.
- 1:05:22And it's just the, you know, the, the, the pressure that is
- 1:05:27put on by Satan against Israel. And he's spewing water like a
- 1:05:34river, but then it says the ground open up and protect it.
- 1:05:36So, you know, it's just giving this like picture of what's
- 1:05:42happening from a symbolic way. In Revelation 20, verse 2, it
- 1:05:46says he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent who is the devil
- 1:05:52or Satan, and bound him for 1000 years.
- 1:05:56So when Christ begins to reign, Satan is going to be bound for
- 1:06:001000 years and he's not going to have that opportunity to
- 1:06:05influence people like he has right now.
- 1:06:08Satan's also called the ruler of the air today.
- 1:06:11So there's there's just a lot to take in and a lot to absorb when
- 1:06:15you read the Bible and and we don't all get it correct, but
- 1:06:23it's certainly interesting and worth exploring more.
- 1:06:25So this is, you know, what triggered all this was the verse
- 1:06:29that says like a serpent, he has swallowed us and filled his
- 1:06:32stomach with our delicacies and then has spewed us out.
- 1:06:35May the violence done to our flesh be on Babylon, say the
- 1:06:40inhabitants of Zion. Zion is Jerusalem.
- 1:06:43It's kind of like the heavenly Jerusalem.
- 1:06:46So this again is, you know, do unto others as you would have
- 1:06:49them do unto you, because unrepentant people are going to
- 1:06:52have the things that they do to others happen to them in final
- 1:06:55judgment because God is just. So may our blood be on those who
- 1:07:00live in Babylonia, says Jerusalem.
- 1:07:03Therefore, this is what the Lord says, See, I will defend your
- 1:07:07cause and avenge you. I will dry up her sea and make
- 1:07:13her springs dry. So again, right now the
- 1:07:17Euphrates River runs through Babylon and it is drying up, and
- 1:07:21even the groundwater is decreasing as of 2025.
- 1:07:25So you can look that up. Babylon will be a hoop, a heap
- 1:07:30of runes, a haunt of jackals, an object of horror and scorn, a
- 1:07:34place where no one lives. Her people all roar like Young
- 1:07:38Lions. They growl.
- 1:07:41They growl like lion Cubs, but while they are aroused, I will
- 1:07:48set out a feast for them and make them drunk so that they
- 1:07:52will shout with laughter, then sleep forever and not awake.
- 1:07:59So God has a plan for all this. He's going to turn.
- 1:08:03You know, they, I don't know they, they certainly do that
- 1:08:06with their terror. When they invaded Israel in 2023
- 1:08:11on October 7th, they were they had taken, there was evidence
- 1:08:16apparently that came out later that they were on some kind of
- 1:08:20drug called Capticon, I think is if I'm saying it right.
- 1:08:23And it just caused them basically to be emotionless,
- 1:08:28like to feel nothing. But they went out and they raped
- 1:08:30people and they killed people and they did horrific things to
- 1:08:32people and, and they were like laughing and cheering and
- 1:08:38celebrating and calling their parents and saying look what
- 1:08:42I've done, mom. I mean, they had recordings of
- 1:08:44people who we did that. And so this kind of sounds like,
- 1:08:48you know, they, it says, I will set out a feast for them and
- 1:08:53make them drunk so that they shout with laughter, then sleep
- 1:08:57forever and not awake. So there's, you know, this is
- 1:09:02like this is death is what I see this as.
- 1:09:05And then there's this also the great supper, or I don't know
- 1:09:08what it's called. It's not.
- 1:09:11There's a supper of great kings that happens in the Book of
- 1:09:14Revelation, Revelation 19, verse 17, that God summons or the
- 1:09:20Angel summons these birds of prey to come and eat the great
- 1:09:24supper of all of these kings and officials, all these rebellious
- 1:09:28people against God. I mean, yeah, Revelation will
- 1:09:32show you a lot of things that are yet to come.
- 1:09:37Verse 40, I will bring them down like lambs to the slaughter,
- 1:09:41like Rams and goats. And this was kind of interesting
- 1:09:44because then I draw a conclusion.
- 1:09:46Not a conclusion, but I draw a. It made me think about Daniel 8,
- 1:09:51where the ram versus the goat. And this is like Iran and Turkey
- 1:09:57going against each other. So I don't know if they were
- 1:10:01always Iran was always the ram was always symbolic of Iran, and
- 1:10:08the goat was always symbolic of Turkey.
- 1:10:11That's just something else to keep in mind.
- 1:10:13But it just made me think about that says how Shishak will be
- 1:10:17captured, the boast of the whole earth seized, how desolate
- 1:10:21Babylon will be among the nations, The sea will rise over
- 1:10:26Babylon. Again.
- 1:10:27I think this is symbolic of people, just like Revelation
- 1:10:301715 says it really represents ungodly people.
- 1:10:34And also in Jude chapter one verse 13, it also says something
- 1:10:40similar to that about the sea being ungodly people.
- 1:10:44So her towns will become desolate, a dry and desert land,
- 1:10:48a land where no one lives, through which no one travels.
- 1:10:52I will punish Bell and Babylon. Remember, these are, this is the
- 1:10:56male God. I mean, this is the false God
- 1:11:00connected with Baal Marduk, fallen angels, you know, Satan.
- 1:11:04Is this the, is it Satan and another Angel or is it Satan
- 1:11:07appearing as two different things?
- 1:11:09I don't know. It doesn't really matter.
- 1:11:12But somehow they're connected because God is talking about
- 1:11:16Babylon and he's also talking about Bell in Babylon and make
- 1:11:21him spew out what he has swallowed, spewing, you know,
- 1:11:24this is what he swallowed. This is tied to the serpent,
- 1:11:27which is tied to the Satan. So it does seem like it's Satan
- 1:11:32and something else. The nations will no longer
- 1:11:35stream to him again. Idolatry and the wall of Babylon
- 1:11:39will fall. Come out of her my people.
- 1:11:42Run for your lives. Run from the fierce anger of the
- 1:11:44Lord multiple times in prophecy. Revelation 18, four says come
- 1:11:50out of her my people. Zechariah 2 verse 7 says that.
- 1:11:53Isaiah 4824 also says that. Then it says do not lose heart
- 1:11:59or be afraid when rumors are heard in the land.
- 1:12:01One rumor comes this year, another the next, rumors of
- 1:12:06violence in the land and ruler against ruler.
- 1:12:09This sounds so much like what Jesus said.
- 1:12:11There will be wars and rumors of wars in Matthew chapter 24 from
- 1:12:16the time. For the time will surely come
- 1:12:19when I will punish the idols of Babylon.
- 1:12:22Her whole land will be disgraced, and her slain will
- 1:12:26all lie fallen within her. Then heaven and earth and all
- 1:12:32that is in them will shout for joy over Babylon.
- 1:12:37For out of the north, destroyers will attack her, an alliance,
- 1:12:42you know, out of the north. And that's what it says in the
- 1:12:45future is going to happen. And in the Book of Revelation,
- 1:12:47it does talk about heaven and earth rejoicing, fallen.
- 1:12:51Fallen is Babylon. That's what it says in the Book
- 1:12:53of Revelation. Babylon must fall because of
- 1:13:00Israel's slain, so because of the people.
- 1:13:06This is saying why again God is providing justice.
- 1:13:09There was no repentance. Babylon could have been healed
- 1:13:12but never repented, but always kept going against Israel.
- 1:13:16So Babylon must fall because of the slaying it did with Israel,
- 1:13:22just as the slain in all the earth have fallen because of
- 1:13:27Babylon. So Babylon again, if it's the
- 1:13:30spiritual thing, like I think it is Ishtar or Inana, the names
- 1:13:34that were called that it was called a long time ago.
- 1:13:39If it it causes because it's the mother of prostitutes and of
- 1:13:44abominations, it causes people to do those kinds of thin
- 1:13:48things. It's a spiritual thing.
- 1:13:51You who have escaped the sword, leave and do not linger.
- 1:13:55Remember the Lord in a distant land and call to mind Jerusalem.
- 1:14:01We are disgraced, for we have been insulted and shame covers
- 1:14:05our faces because foreigners have entered the holy places of
- 1:14:09the Lord's house. Now, again, this could have a
- 1:14:12double fulfillment because King Nebuchadnezzar is the one who
- 1:14:17destroyed the first temple that Solomon built.
- 1:14:22And so this is, you know, and then I also think about, you
- 1:14:25know, could it also be a double fulfillment Where in the future,
- 1:14:30this House of prayer for all nations, we can see that the
- 1:14:35world is, you know, especially Israel has been pursuing this
- 1:14:39for quite a long time. The Third Temple, they have all
- 1:14:43the pieces that are going to go inside the third Temple.
- 1:14:46It's really just waiting for this temple to be built and
- 1:14:50there's just a lot of preparation happening.
- 1:14:53I guess there has been for a long time and lots of talk about
- 1:14:57it. There's actually signs that are
- 1:14:58going up in Israel and, and mass transits that are being prepared
- 1:15:03for this, for bringing people to the temple.
- 1:15:07And is this going to be some ungodly temple that gets built?
- 1:15:11And is it going to worship all gods, saying that they're all
- 1:15:16the same? We'll just have to wait and see
- 1:15:19how that unfolds. That's what people are thinking
- 1:15:21today. But again, does this prophecy in
- 1:15:24Jeremiah 51 have double fulfillment?
- 1:15:28Even if Babylon ascends to the heavens and fortifies her lofty
- 1:15:32stronghold, I will send destroyers against her, declares
- 1:15:35the Lord. The sound of a cry comes from
- 1:15:38Babylon, the sound of great destruction from the land of the
- 1:15:42Babylonians. The Lord will destroy Babylon,
- 1:15:45He will silence her noisy, dim waves of enemies.
- 1:15:49So again we see that this is like a personification of waves
- 1:15:52of the sea. But these are enemies.
- 1:15:54Waves of enemies will rage like great waters.
- 1:15:59So this, the water is the sea of the people is our people.
- 1:16:03The waves of enemies will rage like great waters.
- 1:16:06The roar of their voices will resound.
- 1:16:08A destroyer will come against Babylon.
- 1:16:11Her warriors will be captured, their bows will be broken.
- 1:16:15And again, is this alliance? Is that the beast alliance?
- 1:16:20Because there's going to be like 7 kings with 10 crowns, like
- 1:16:28three of them get uprooted and the one that replaces them is
- 1:16:32the Antichrist. So this is like an alliance of a
- 1:16:36lot of people that don't like Babylon that come against
- 1:16:41Babylon. So let's look at, let's think
- 1:16:44about this in our modern day. Just speculate if if this
- 1:16:50there's a a great alliance that comes against Babylon, but this
- 1:16:55great alliance is actually the beast.
- 1:16:58Just something to study more right now and really look at
- 1:17:02more detail about what it says of who the beasts are.
- 1:17:05Now the beast actually comes up out of the earth.
- 1:17:08So there is something that I think is spiritual involved with
- 1:17:11this because it I think it might have some spiritual or fallen
- 1:17:15Angel thing because because it comes out, there's that maybe
- 1:17:21that's what's influencing it because it's like something from
- 1:17:24the past that comes up and it's like at the midpoint of the
- 1:17:30final week of the tribulation or the final week of Daniel.
- 1:17:35I don't say it's the tribulation.
- 1:17:37I say it's like midway sounds like halfway in between this,
- 1:17:40this beast comes up out of the abyss, but it it has like these
- 1:17:46kings that are part of it and they give their authority over
- 1:17:49in the devil or Satan gives its power to this beast.
- 1:17:53And this is it's kind of that one world government that people
- 1:17:58have been talking about for years and years and years.
- 1:18:01So again, we don't have all the answers, but there's like these
- 1:18:05clues that you can look at and you can kind of see something's
- 1:18:09kind of taking shape right now. So for the Lord is a God of
- 1:18:15retribution. He will repay in full.
- 1:18:17I will make her officials and wise men drunk, her governors,
- 1:18:21officers and warriors as well. They will sleep forever and not
- 1:18:26awake. It's like eternal death.
- 1:18:29And you know, like going down to the pit declares the King, whose
- 1:18:33name is the Lord Almighty. So there's think stuff about
- 1:18:37going down to the pit, which is, you know, like what is gained if
- 1:18:46I am silenced, if I go down to the pit, the dust, the dust,
- 1:18:51will the dust praise you? Will it claim, proclaim your
- 1:18:54faithfulness? That's from Psalm 30.
- 1:19:00Let's see, Isaiah 3818 says, for the grave cannot praise you,
- 1:19:07death cannot sing your praise, those who go down to the pit
- 1:19:11cannot hope for your faithfulness.
- 1:19:15Ezekiel says verse or chapter 26 Verse 20 Then I will bring you
- 1:19:22down with those who go down to the pit, to the people of long
- 1:19:27ago. I will make you dwell in the
- 1:19:29earth below as in ancient ruins, with those who go down to the
- 1:19:34pit, and you will not return or take your place in the land of
- 1:19:38the living. Ezekiel 31 verse 16 I made the
- 1:19:44nations tremble at the sound of its fall, when I brought it down
- 1:19:47to the realm of the dead to be with those who go down to the
- 1:19:52pit. Then all the trees of Eden, the
- 1:19:54choices in the best of Lebanon, the well watered trees were
- 1:19:58consoled in the earth below. This is like in a picture of
- 1:20:02hell. Ezekiel 32 says Son of man for
- 1:20:06the hordes of Egypt, whale for the hordes of Egypt, and
- 1:20:10consigned to the and consigned to the earth below, both her and
- 1:20:15the daughters of mighty nations, along with those who go down to
- 1:20:20the pit. Ezekiel 32 verse 24 says Elam,
- 1:20:26which is Iran, is there with all her her hordes around her grave.
- 1:20:32All of them are slain, fallen by the sword.
- 1:20:35All who had spread terror in the land of the living went down
- 1:20:40uncircumcised to the earth below.
- 1:20:43They bear their shame with those who go down to the Ezekiel 32A
- 1:20:50Bed is made for her among the slain, and with all her hordes
- 1:20:54around her grave. All of them are uncircumcised,
- 1:20:58killed by the sword, because their terror has spread in the
- 1:21:02land of the living. They bear their shame with those
- 1:21:05who go down to the pit. They're laid among the slain.
- 1:21:09And it says there's two more verses.
- 1:21:11Ezekiel 32 Edom, which is modern day Jordan is there, her kings
- 1:21:16and all her Princess. Despite their power, they are
- 1:21:19laid with those killed by the sword.
- 1:21:22They lie with the uncircumcised, with those who go down to the
- 1:21:26pit. Ezekiel 32 verse 30 says all the
- 1:21:30promises of the north and all the Sidonians are there.
- 1:21:35They went down with the slain in disgrace, despite the terror
- 1:21:40caused by their power. They lie uncircumcised with
- 1:21:44those killed by the sword and bear their shame with those who
- 1:21:48go down to the pit. So we there are terror groups
- 1:21:52today that are in the world and are destroying people.
- 1:21:56And it seems like all of these who produce terror in the day of
- 1:22:02in the land of the living right now are going down to the pit.
- 1:22:05That's what it says. So that's a word of warning.
- 1:22:08All these, these people who do these terror things, they have
- 1:22:11this imagination, a deception probably from Satan that tells
- 1:22:15them they're going to get 72 virgins when they do this stuff.
- 1:22:19They're completely wrong. They're going down to the pit.
- 1:22:21The Bible was written first. Their book came about 600 years
- 1:22:26later. So word of warning to so many
- 1:22:30people about everybody needs to know what's in the Bible.
- 1:22:35Verse 58, this from Jeremiah 51. This is what the Lord Almighty
- 1:22:39says. Babylon's thick wall will be
- 1:22:42leveled and her gates, her high gates set on fire.
- 1:22:46The people's, the peoples exhaust themselves for nothing.
- 1:22:49The nation's labor is only fuel for the flames.
- 1:22:53This is the message Jeremiah the prophet gave to the staff
- 1:22:56officer Soraya, son of Neriah, the son of Messiah.
- 1:23:01Messiah when he was, when he went to Babylon with Zedekiah,
- 1:23:06king of Judah. In the fourth year of his reign,
- 1:23:09Jeremiah had written on a scroll about all the disasters that
- 1:23:12would come upon Babylon, All that had been recorded
- 1:23:15concerning Babylon. He said to Saraya, When you get
- 1:23:20to Babylon, see that you read all these words loud.
- 1:23:23Then say, Lord, you have said, you will destroy this place so
- 1:23:28that neither people nor animals will live in it.
- 1:23:30It will be desolate forever. When you finish reading the
- 1:23:34scroll, tie a stone to it and throw it into the Euphrates.
- 1:23:38Then say, so will Babylon sink to rise no more because of the
- 1:23:45disaster I will bring on her, and her people will fall.
- 1:23:49The words of Jeremiah end here. So that's the end of chapter 51.
- 1:23:54So there's quite a lot to to talk about, to talk about, to
- 1:24:03study, to reflect on in this chapter.
- 1:24:07And it, Jeremiah 51, ties into lots of the books of Revelation.
- 1:24:14I could read more from the Book of Revelation, but I think it
- 1:24:16might even be confusing. But it ties into the prophecies
- 1:24:20in the books of Isaiah where it talks about the rock being cut
- 1:24:24from the stone and that being the cornerstone.
- 1:24:27Jesus talked about the wine press where Jesus is actually
- 1:24:33trampling and he's going to come against.
- 1:24:36That'll be the vengeance of God, the wrath of God.
- 1:24:40Just about where this this serpent could you know, it is
- 1:24:45Satan and who leads the whole world astray.
- 1:24:48It kind of talks about that with Babylon too.
- 1:24:52Is that you know, is, is the Babylon spirit the same as
- 1:24:55Satan? Are they different spirits?
- 1:24:57Is 1 like a female or an androgynous one?
- 1:24:59Or if they both one and the same just a deception?
- 1:25:03I don't know, but it, you know, it says that Satan's the one who
- 1:25:08leads the whole world astray in chapter in Revelation chapter
- 1:25:1412. And let's see, I'm just going
- 1:25:18through all the tabs that I have opened.
- 1:25:20And you know, Revelation 17 is another one just to really study
- 1:25:27and try to understand that, or at least commit it to memory so
- 1:25:32that when you see things happening, you might all of a
- 1:25:34sudden say that this really is something we should pay
- 1:25:39attention to. So the beast is something else.
- 1:25:43That is, there's a lot of verses that talk about the beast.
- 1:25:48It's in, let's see, 36 exact phrases in the New International
- 1:25:55Version. And it starts in like Daniel
- 1:26:00Chapter 7 that talks about the beast.
- 1:26:03Then it goes into Revelation Chapter 11, Revelation chapter
- 1:26:0813, a lot in chapter 13, Revelation 14151617 and 19 and
- 1:26:2220. So all of those chapters talk
- 1:26:26about the beast and it gives us clues about that.
- 1:26:29I think this podcast is really long, so I'm not going to read
- 1:26:33through that. But if you just go to an
- 1:26:35electronic Bible and search the beast, you will be able to see
- 1:26:42all of these things and read them.
- 1:26:44And then just to familiarize yourself with all the different
- 1:26:49characteristics of the beast. And the fall of Babylon is
- 1:26:56recorded in Revelation chapter 18.
- 1:26:59Again, I think that ties to Jeremiah.
- 1:27:03And let's see what other verses that I had here that were
- 1:27:08important for us to go over. I think I probably covered them
- 1:27:15all. So it's, it's long enough.
- 1:27:17Again, these are hard to keep short, short when there are so
- 1:27:20many different books that tie together.
- 1:27:23So I hope that this was beneficial and that you learned
- 1:27:28something from it. And if you do, please subscribe
- 1:27:31and share this with other people so that they can if you found it
- 1:27:35beneficial that other people can also find this.
- 1:27:39Thank you.
