- 0:01All right, we are back with episode #53 so exciting to say
- 0:07that of the Adventures and Adversity Podcast.
- 0:10For those of you who have not tuned in before, this is a
- 0:13podcast where we feature real people, true stories, and daily
- 0:18inspiration to help all of us, myself included, turn life's
- 0:23adversity into an adventure. Right, So all kinds of amazing
- 0:29people on this podcast, and one of which is here today, I wanted
- 0:33to introduce Jason Heinrichs. Thank you so much, Jason.
- 0:37I'm, I'm really, really excited to talk.
- 0:40I know we're gonna talk about a lot of really, really
- 0:43transformative things today. So yeah.
- 0:45Thanks for having me. Yeah, so Jason and I got
- 0:49connected via the wonderful world of the podcast world, the
- 0:53sort of growth, everyone who's searching for something world,
- 0:58right? And we were just talking before
- 1:00about how we've both been on this journey with reconnecting
- 1:03with God and what does that mean with our personal life and
- 1:08family life and all the things we've been through, right?
- 1:11So Jason, if you don't mind, this is my favorite part of the
- 1:13podcast where I get to make my guests blush a little bit when I
- 1:17read about them in front of them, if that's OK to introduce
- 1:20you. So Jason, you have a lot of
- 1:24different facets to you, right? You have been very successful in
- 1:28the professional business world. You've worked for Cutco, right?
- 1:33Many, many, lots of you founded 40 Forge.
- 1:37You are author of the book Wake Up Jesus People, which I am
- 1:40going to ask you a lot of questions about today.
- 1:44You've trained thousands of people in sales, management,
- 1:47presentation and leadership, right?
- 1:50And I think the coolest part about that is this.
- 1:54All that personal professional success has led to this amazing
- 1:58sort of faith transformation that has this kind of informed
- 2:03the rest of your life and what you do.
- 2:04Yeah. Thank you.
- 2:05That was perfect. Cool.
- 2:08So where can we start, Jason? Tell me a little bit for my
- 2:11audience, Tell me a little bit about yourself.
- 2:14And we're just going to go all over the place.
- 2:16I just wanted to. I always do.
- 2:18Sure. So I'm married for nine years
- 2:20now. I have two boys, a three-year
- 2:23old and a five year old. We currently live in Green Bay,
- 2:26WI and we are moving on Sunday to Seattle to help start a
- 2:32church. And we've been leading our young
- 2:34adults ministry out here, my wife and I for a couple years.
- 2:37We've been loving the church we're going to for about 10
- 2:39years now. We just want to help bring that
- 2:41message out there also. And it's that's been a whole
- 2:44story of its own, but that's been more bubbling up here over
- 2:48the last few years. God work on us, preparing us for
- 2:51that. But in my 20s, so as Bree said,
- 2:55I'm in direct sales. I sell Cutco cutlery.
- 2:56So I've been doing that for about 21 years now.
- 2:58And in my 20s, it was my drug, it was my my idol.
- 3:03It was grind time, it was getting after it.
- 3:07And it's my 20s. It was focused on on, on success
- 3:11and sales and wealth, ego, all of that.
- 3:14And then it's definitely for my faith. 1 foot in the world and 1
- 3:18foot out and in my 30s got a little more serious, right?
- 3:22I got married and started doing things a little different,
- 3:25stopped parting as much. And then I still doing a lot in
- 3:29the in the world of business, but I'm just really recommitted
- 3:32to my to my faith and dove back in.
- 3:35And then over the last few years, it's just been
- 3:38transformative to see really God working on me and my heart of
- 3:42building my own Kingdom to transitioning to building his
- 3:45Kingdom. And here we are now.
- 3:49I love that and it's I think a lot of people listening, however
- 3:54they stumble upon this podcast, they have gone through what
- 3:58sounds like you have gone through as many different sort
- 4:01of life phases where, you know, maybe success and money and
- 4:05productivity, which is very common, right?
- 4:08Was your idol. And then now it's like that that
- 4:11you get into a point, you know, 20s, thirties at different
- 4:15points in life where you're like, wait, this is something's
- 4:19off, right? So do you like looking back?
- 4:23Tell me a little bit about your journey.
- 4:26So obviously in the world success, professional success,
- 4:30you know, it's a great thing, right?
- 4:32Like, I think wherein lies the problem is when that is your
- 4:36only thing, is that what governs you, right.
- 4:39So take me back to, was there a moment when you were, you know,
- 4:44doing well, when you were like, was there like a record
- 4:47scratching moment where you're like, wait, this is not working
- 4:50for me or something? Yeah, there's a lot.
- 4:53And I would say one, I would say for your listeners, for anyone
- 4:56who's trying to build wealth, build a business, there's
- 4:58nothing wrong with that. But when it becomes your sole
- 5:01focus and your idol and it is replacing your happiness and
- 5:04your joy and being a good parent, being a good, a good
- 5:07significant other, that's when he comes a total issue.
- 5:10And what what happened in my 20s, I'd say is just I was just
- 5:14on the train of working hard and grinding it out and hitting
- 5:17accolades and trophies and awards.
- 5:20And it really didn't start until my 30s where I really started
- 5:26kind of cleansing myself of it. I was working my way up to this
- 5:29next promotion, going from a district manager to a division
- 5:33manager. And so that was the big goal, to
- 5:35get that promotion from like a territory to like a whole state.
- 5:39Yeah, working on that, grinding it out.
- 5:40A big mission was hit $1,000,000 in sales.
- 5:43It was my goal like every year for like 8 years straight.
- 5:47And finally in 2017 we hit it. So you get you get a cool, you
- 5:51get a cool watch, there's some other accolades and it's really
- 5:54cool. And then after a week you're
- 5:56like, all right, what's next? So after a couple years, I got
- 6:01promoted to the division manager position and it's a really great
- 6:04position, Bree. It was just a lot for me and it
- 6:07wasn't really stealing me. It was robbing me of my peace
- 6:10and my joy because I was getting that title and not all this
- 6:14other responsibility. And I got promoted in 2019.
- 6:17And as you're figuring out this new role, 2020 happened with
- 6:20COVID. So we went from an almost all in
- 6:22person organization to then all virtual.
- 6:26And then we also had our first child in 2020 and then had
- 6:31another child a couple years later figuring out the marriage
- 6:34thing. And so it really became a wake
- 6:37up call, I would say kind of bouncing around here is
- 6:42originally when I was getting these promotions and these
- 6:44accolades and realizing, OK, there's more.
- 6:47I know I love God, but he's not number one.
- 6:49I'm a workaholic and I'm putting all my trust and all my worth in
- 6:54my sales for that week or for that year or my title.
- 6:57And then so ever since COVID hit and kids hit, there was this
- 7:00slow, just slow progression of wanting to spend more time with
- 7:04the family and pursuing more of a joy in life than building, you
- 7:08know, my Kingdom through work. So let's say that was that was a
- 7:13big moment. First of all is as all those
- 7:16things happened. And then really three years ago
- 7:20is when I, well, so I've also threw out that time to help numb
- 7:25myself or to like take a break. I was like self medicated with
- 7:30either a weed gummy or a few drinks at night to relax and to
- 7:34just feel I need to turn it off. I need to turn that brain off.
- 7:37It's just, there's just, I need to stop this thing from working
- 7:42so I can be focused with the family and present, which I
- 7:45really wasn't. I wasn't getting drunk or blazed
- 7:47or anything, but it's definitely feeling it.
- 7:49And now it's probably 5 or 6 nights a week.
- 7:52And that was for probably 15 years, so probably 10 years.
- 7:57And then I had a friend from church who challenged me and
- 8:01said you shouldn't be doing that.
- 8:03He's he's, he was, he's a recovered addict.
- 8:05And then also through some marital counseling that my wife
- 8:08and I were going through, we brought it up as a thing.
- 8:12And she's like, yeah, those are some, there's some addictive
- 8:15tendencies. And I just, it really hit me to
- 8:19realize what's this path I'm going on?
- 8:22I'm working so hard and then I'm self medicating.
- 8:25I'm not happy like I, I am, but not enough with just myself and
- 8:30and my and my situation and my faith.
- 8:32It's like I needed other things. And then so really a few years
- 8:36ago was when my friend challenged me and my wife
- 8:40challenged me and I stopped. Now I stopped having my drinks
- 8:43at night, stopped having weed gummies, and then yeah, I then I
- 8:48just, it was a big cleansing. So that was a big God moment.
- 8:51And then another big God moment around the same time Bri was, I
- 8:55asked for a demotion essentially.
- 8:58I told my boss two years ago, hey, this DVM position is really
- 9:02working for me. I'm not the leader I need to be
- 9:04or I'm not good at it or just taking too long to build.
- 9:08It's too stressful. It's not worth it.
- 9:10I don't think I'm leaving the company, but I believe this is
- 9:13my last year in my role. And then he said, OK, we'll see
- 9:19then after a year. Yeah, people.
- 9:21Were like, he made a easy right? Yeah, yeah.
- 9:23And then then he demoted me, which was great after that year.
- 9:27And that was about a year and a half ago.
- 9:29And it's been, man, who I am now, my mentality, my peace and
- 9:33joy now is just so awesome, so great compared to where I was
- 9:38two to three years ago. And to see God work all the way
- 9:41through that to where I'm in a position now to go to where
- 9:43we're about to go, it just is got all over it.
- 9:47But also it was a lot of tough decisions, a lot of wake up
- 9:50calls. Yeah, so, and thank you for
- 9:54being so candid about all of that.
- 9:56Like really the heart of this podcast, I know is really being
- 9:59vulnerable about some moments that, you know, people might not
- 10:03ever even know that you're struggling because, right, all
- 10:05the all the boxes on the outside are checked, right?
- 10:08You're doing well. This, this, this, and I can
- 10:11completely relate to that where you're just like, wait, what am
- 10:14I doing? Like what is this?
- 10:15If it's, if you have, if you're losing your mental health or
- 10:19you're, you're having physical health issues or just
- 10:21something's off. I think at the end of the day,
- 10:25when you're not full of joy, that's that's what we're here
- 10:29for. And I think I've learned through
- 10:31reconnecting with God, you know, through the dark times that God
- 10:35wants you to experience joy, right?
- 10:39And all these things get in the way.
- 10:41And then really the ultimate answer is turning back to God
- 10:44because he, he, he guides us through everything.
- 10:47I do have a question. And I, I was watching some
- 10:49YouTube videos and you said you're in a great place.
- 10:52And I, and I'm I know a part of that or big part of that has to
- 10:56do with what you call the sacred starts.
- 11:00So tell me about that because you basically like you've gone
- 11:03from now where you guys are starting a church.
- 11:06You started 40 Forge. You wrote a book called.
- 11:13Your book is called. I'm going to let you say it.
- 11:15Yeah, wake up, Jesus, people. Wake up Jesus people.
- 11:19Founder of 40 Forge. And it's what I think is super
- 11:22cool is you're taking all those skills, right, that you've
- 11:26learned over the years of sales, connecting with people, solving
- 11:29problems, finding solutions. Seems like it has this whole
- 11:32frame of God now. Yeah.
- 11:36Which is amazing. Yeah, overcoming adversity is I
- 11:40was, I was how this was kind of birthed was I had I was dating a
- 11:45girl got engaged pretty quick. We're about to get married two
- 11:48months before and we were both pretending to be someone who we
- 11:51weren't. And I wanted to pursue the
- 11:52positive, the faith, all the future dreams and everything.
- 11:56And she just really wanted to party.
- 11:57And our whole, our whole like relationship was based on
- 12:01pleasures and fun. And so two months before God
- 12:04woke me up and gave me the courage to call it off.
- 12:07I knew it, I could see the red flags, but I just, I was hoping
- 12:11she'd change and hoping to get better.
- 12:12It didn't. So in that time of, of the fall
- 12:15of 2012, free was a big wake up call.
- 12:19And so I was down the dumps. I called everything off.
- 12:22It was, it was, you know, I was definitely in a down time and
- 12:26from what I thought was going to be happening.
- 12:28So that's when I just dove into morning routines.
- 12:31I went to Tony Robbins conference, I dove back into
- 12:33church and from there in the fall of 2012, I've been
- 12:36practicing morning routines. And so it's been life changing.
- 12:39It's been amazing starting my day with Jesus and exercise.
- 12:44And I'll go into it a little bit, but basically it's been
- 12:47basically me working on trying to figure out what's the best
- 12:50for me. And there's a lot of great books
- 12:51out there, morning routines. This is just mine.
- 12:54That's a Jesus version of it where I don't know many Jesus.
- 12:58I haven't really read a Jesus book about a morning routine.
- 13:01I've read a lot about how to read the Bible better, how to
- 13:03pray better, you know? Like, yeah, not like a whole
- 13:08thing, yeah. So I call it the sacred start.
- 13:11Why It's sacred? Because it is is a time that is
- 13:13set apart. It is holy.
- 13:16It is just you getting yourself right with Jesus in the morning
- 13:21and the sacred start and includes things like
- 13:24affirmations from scripture, prayer, journaling, exercise,
- 13:30and Bible reading. So every morning and I talk
- 13:33about an hour in the morning, wake up because you want to, not
- 13:38because you have to get that, get that morning right and get
- 13:42the exercise in the Jesus time and all that.
- 13:44That's how you start the day really determines how the rest
- 13:46of the day goes. You think about most of society,
- 13:49we're hitting snooze four or five times, rushed, stressed off
- 13:53to work. It's just a mess.
- 13:55And then we say we want to spend time doing the things that are
- 13:58important to us, like Jesus time or exercise.
- 14:01And and we don't, but those are so healthy for us and and we
- 14:05don't make time for it. So it's more of like, how does
- 14:07it look to be a practicing daily Jesus person?
- 14:12So start your day off for me, 5:00 AM every day I'm up, I'm
- 14:15doing it for about two 2 1/2 hours and it's just where I've
- 14:19gotten to because I just it fills me up like I.
- 14:21So good. It feels so good.
- 14:23It's so great. And then I know the whole day
- 14:25ahead of me is great and I know I need to be done by 7:15 when
- 14:28the boys wake up because then there's no, there's no like
- 14:31there's chaos. And so that's been a practice
- 14:34for the last really 13 years now.
- 14:36And then it's it's all in the book.
- 14:38It's a half the book about evening and morning routines and
- 14:42some of those disciplines. And please, can you hold up the
- 14:45book? Yeah, I would love.
- 14:47And I'm going to put all in the show notes, a direct link to
- 14:50where you can purchase this. I am going to purchase this as
- 14:53well because honestly, I can't, I can't say enough about the
- 14:58morning, the sacredness of mornings.
- 15:01And when I heard you say that on one of your YouTube videos, I
- 15:03was like, it, it, it's life altering.
- 15:06There's some energy in the morning where it's almost like
- 15:10anything that you are trying to heal from.
- 15:12It's just this time where it's like you feel like you're the
- 15:15only one in the world. And then but it's, it's sacred.
- 15:19It, it, I think that's a great. It is literally feels sacred.
- 15:23And you, you come into that 715. My moment is 7:00-ish.
- 15:28My two kids, 8 and 10, where I'm like, okay, yeah, the quiet time
- 15:32will be over, but you come in literally with a completely
- 15:36different lens. It's just you're not the same.
- 15:39Yeah, especially like you said, you can get out into like nature
- 15:42and see the sunrise and it says God made this, this beauty that
- 15:48how many of us are not enjoying because we're on our cell phone
- 15:50and in front of a screen all the time.
- 15:52We're not actually enjoying these things that are good for
- 15:54us that he designed for us and created for the oxygen and the
- 15:58sun and just the peace. And here in the during the birds
- 16:01chirp like it's just so like you said, it's sacred, it's
- 16:03peaceful. We also during the winter time,
- 16:06we love turn on the fireplace and just it's so great to start
- 16:09your day that way. Yeah, it's the stillness, right?
- 16:12And I think as someone who tends toward like fast moving, high
- 16:16energy energy, high productivity, high achievement,
- 16:19you know, output, especially if you're listening to this and
- 16:23that is your sort of default. It's even more important to
- 16:26connect and slow down Because for me, I, my brain it, it, it
- 16:32won't calm down unless I say, OK, we're going to sit down now.
- 16:35And then when you sit down, I mean, whoever's listening to
- 16:38this, whatever your faith is for me, like coming back to God,
- 16:43raised Catholic, just consider myself a kind of born again
- 16:47Christian. Like I'm, I'm hoping to get
- 16:49baptized again in the next year just because the stillness and
- 16:54the time that you set aside is completely transformative.
- 17:00So it sounds like you've built your whole life now around
- 17:05providing tools and safe spaces for people to, like, cultivate.
- 17:10Yeah, a life that involves Jesus more.
- 17:12Right? Like, wake up Jesus, people.
- 17:14How did you come up with that title?
- 17:16Yeah, well, if I back it up just a moment clue when you're
- 17:19talking about, I just want to mention priorities.
- 17:22You know, if you are, you know, obviously we are biased and we
- 17:26love Jesus, but you know, whatever your faith is here.
- 17:28It's like starting your day off right with that and with the
- 17:31priorities here that I've learned from church as it goes,
- 17:33God and then me selfishly me and then wife, kids and then
- 17:38spiritual family or family. So I need to treat it in that
- 17:42order. And for me for a decade and 1/2
- 17:43it was work and then me and then I think God was in there like in
- 17:49the top five. But why isn't we actually
- 17:51practicing it you somewhere. But now that I filtered through
- 17:55that, it's like I'd have to think I need to get from the
- 17:57source, my joy, my peace, my energy from God and to make sure
- 18:02I'm best and right to be my best for my kids, my wife, and then
- 18:06all my everyone else below that. And so with that, if that's my
- 18:10number one priority, I need to make sure it's done every day.
- 18:13And I know throughout the day, I'm going to get tired, I'm
- 18:15going to get distracted. I'm going to get, you know, off,
- 18:17you know, I'm going to get derailed.
- 18:19So when I get it done in the morning, not only does it make
- 18:22me best, it also gets out of my brain of another thing I need to
- 18:26check off of. Oh, I got to read my Bible
- 18:27later. Oh, I got to go exercise later.
- 18:29Then it's on your mind all day and you're worried and you're
- 18:32like, Oh my gosh. And it's just it's stressing you
- 18:34out almost. So also why you want to do it in
- 18:37the morning and why the titles wake up.
- 18:39So there's two reasons. So good transition. 2 reasons.
- 18:44I called it wake up Jesus people because I simultaneously want to
- 18:48help people wake up. If you're there's a lot of
- 18:51people right now who are just searching for that God designed
- 18:54this with a God shaped hole in our heart.
- 18:55So we're searching it for it in drugs, alcohol, relationships,
- 19:00status, income, and it's never enough.
- 19:03And then until you fill it with God, you still have that aching
- 19:07and that and that and that desire for more because it's
- 19:10it's not fulfilling as God is. So it's like, wake up.
- 19:15There's all these amazing Jesus people.
- 19:18And again, like you mentioned, Catholic, Lutheran, non
- 19:21denominational, whatever. What if we all woke up and
- 19:23united as one? What if we all rally together
- 19:27and love each other and talked about the 80 to 90% we can agree
- 19:31upon instead of the 10 to 20% we disagree upon?
- 19:35That's exactly the devil wants is to split us apart and divide
- 19:38us and so we can unite and wake up as warriors and know that
- 19:41this is a battle right now. When we're visiting earth right
- 19:45now, it is a spiritual battle and we are visiting.
- 19:49We're not. We're citizens of heaven.
- 19:50We're just visiting now for our 80 to 100 years on this earth.
- 19:53What are we going to do with it? And there's too many people in
- 19:56the stands that are just like I was in my 20s, a Sunday
- 20:00Christian who they go check it off, but they're not really
- 20:04walking with God. They're not really getting the
- 20:06most out of the relationship that God designed it to be.
- 20:08And so they're just, they're sleepwalking, they're zombies.
- 20:11So it's like wake, wake up. Let's be a bold warrior for
- 20:14Christ and let's unite together in that.
- 20:18And then simultaneously, like we already talked about it, it's
- 20:21get your butt up. Like stop sleeping and stop
- 20:23scrolling till midnight or watching TV.
- 20:25Like let's get up, let's win that day and let's wake up and
- 20:29rise so we can be good for everyone else in our life and be
- 20:32that like that light for everyone and be the example of
- 20:36Jesus as we do like. I love that answer because it it
- 20:39literally reframes of like when people say like I put my I'm
- 20:43putting God first, then myself, then sort of trickles into
- 20:47family. You go wait a second.
- 20:48At first it seems like, OK, my family is way down here, but who
- 20:54you who you become when you put God first, it'll trickle down in
- 20:58in a completely different way. It's literally.
- 21:01You're more graceful. You're happier.
- 21:04I mean the marriage and the parenting can go so much better
- 21:07if you start with that. It's it's literally it's it's
- 21:10quite life altering and I'm really excited to dive into your
- 21:14book because I'm at the point where I've, I think I started
- 21:19the morning thing for like not knowing how transformative would
- 21:23be kind of thinking, OK, yeah, I'm gonna well, I was going
- 21:26through some trauma too. So I was like, I'm up anyway.
- 21:28Like, you know, I was dreading the day.
- 21:31I remember like looking through the couple two years ago,
- 21:34remember looking through the shutters and just being like,
- 21:37oh, there's light. Like just I was like, I don't
- 21:39want to get up, you know. And then when you're up though,
- 21:41you're kind of like, wow, this is like something feels
- 21:45different. Like they're.
- 21:46And I think that's when God's presence was coming in because I
- 21:49was pretty broken. And it was like, what feels
- 21:52different in this? There's something special about
- 21:54this time. And then it all started, the
- 21:57healing started. So like people, it's not just
- 22:00about getting up early. It's literally it, it's life
- 22:03changing. And that's the premise of your
- 22:05book, like waking up metaphorically, literally, you
- 22:09know. So take me through parts of your
- 22:12book. So you've got yeah, kind of walk
- 22:14me through if someone's interested in getting this, what
- 22:17can they expect? Yeah, let's take a look.
- 22:19So Section 1 is a time to wake up.
- 22:23So some of the some of the titles are a new beginning,
- 22:28right? Talk about my story a little
- 22:29bit, the cost of being lukewarm and what happens if you're kind
- 22:33of half in, half out and then awakening as a warrior also
- 22:36known who's around you, who's influencing you?
- 22:39Pursuing joy, the long lasting joy instead of the instant
- 22:42pleasure and gratification and then setting life priorities,
- 22:45which I kind of went over to. So that's like, hey, let's wake
- 22:48up. That's a time to wake up.
- 22:50And here's here's why. And then Section 2 is
- 22:53disciplines of the Mighty. And so that's all about how your
- 22:57mornings critical the components of a sacred start the necessary
- 23:01night evening routines, talking about discipline, talk about
- 23:05starting your day of Jesus, talking with other just
- 23:08disciplines like and and fasting and worshiping.
- 23:16And then the final section is the life of the brave, just
- 23:19helping people dream again and have dreams and goals and
- 23:22reminding them to be courageous, talking about the 44's challenge
- 23:25to get them jump started into their new their new life.
- 23:28And then the final mission, which is being loving God and
- 23:31loving people and getting the word out.
- 23:33So that's a really quick overview of the of the.
- 23:37I love the cover. If you got to show that cover a
- 23:39little bit because it's, you know, what really kind of
- 23:43strikes me is in my journey again, grew up Catholic and was
- 23:49very just sort of like rule based, you know, kind of trying
- 23:52to do this, do that. And you know, but my parents dad
- 23:55was raised Catholic, mom was Episcopalian and really the the
- 23:58heart of it was they were trying to give me core values, right
- 24:01about treating yourself well, treating others well, loving
- 24:04God. What I found in the last six
- 24:06months that I have realized, but I didn't understand that this is
- 24:10literally a spiritual battle. Like I used to think, Full
- 24:14disclosure. And I tell my friends from
- 24:16church this, I go, guys, I used to think people like you were
- 24:20kind of crazy. Like when you talked about in in
- 24:22a nice way, kind of like, yeah, you're using the word demonic.
- 24:25Like take it down. Like, come on, stop.
- 24:27Like it's not that bad. And now I'm like, no, this is
- 24:32real. Like the energies and the there
- 24:34there is it is a spiritual battle.
- 24:37So tell me about like. Yeah.
- 24:39When did you realize that and how does that differ from like,
- 24:43how does that inform how you move through the world, knowing
- 24:46that it's like a spiritual battle versus not just like
- 24:49getting? Totally.
- 24:51Yeah. I always thought the Holy Spirit
- 24:52was weird. My Nana is Assemblies of God, so
- 24:55she'd speak in tongues and run around with tambourines and
- 24:58stuff and just wasn't my thing. I didn't get it.
- 25:00And then my parents raised me. Well, it was really good.
- 25:04But we were not a nominational. Yeah.
- 25:07And so, yeah, I would say I knew about it, but I didn't really
- 25:10experience it and really understand like, yeah, this is
- 25:14there's a whole spiritual realm. There's there's angels and
- 25:17demons. This is real.
- 25:19The devil is trying to do everything he can to distract us
- 25:22and take us. So we're not a part of God's
- 25:26Kingdom. So just the more podcasts I've
- 25:29listened to, the more Bible reading I've done, the more
- 25:31sermons I've listened to, the more things I've experienced.
- 25:34And also the more I really just tapped into the Holy Spirit just
- 25:37in the last like few years, yeah, I knew he was there.
- 25:41But like when I actually like worship and raise my hands and
- 25:44feel that presence and feel those moments of peace or joy,
- 25:50it's just how you just can't explain it.
- 25:52And so really just the last few years, Bree, there's been more
- 25:55of me experiencing it and realizing, yeah, we are this is
- 25:58a battle right in the Bible, the armor of God.
- 26:01Talk about armoring up there is there is so much evil out there
- 26:06and all social media and everything we hear now of like
- 26:10all the think of all the horrible stuff that's going on,
- 26:13all the sex trafficking, all of the the evil things people are
- 26:17doing. You could we could get into.
- 26:19I don't want to get into politics, but like political
- 26:21stuff and then this stuff, it's like this.
- 26:24This is not a normal human behavior.
- 26:27They are. They are, they are.
- 26:29It's it's, yeah, I believe it is, yeah.
- 26:34Yeah, so. Well, and it's when you look at
- 26:37it that way for me, it's like, I think adversity in any form of
- 26:44life. You know, I've had all kinds of
- 26:46guests on this podcast and I always say anyone can be a guest
- 26:50as long as you're a human being. Because with becoming a human,
- 26:53with a being a human comes adversity, right?
- 26:55And like the Bible says, like it will, you're going to have
- 27:00tribulations, right? But what was it one of the most
- 27:03common? Tell me if I'm right, because
- 27:04I'm I always say I'm like a baby Christian.
- 27:07I'm like, they're like good job because I'm like, wait, I
- 27:10learned that when I was 10 in church.
- 27:12But I don't know. I don't think else they said the
- 27:14term don't be afraid or do not be afraid or fear.
- 27:17Not something like that is all through the Bible.
- 27:20All through the Bible. Yep.
- 27:22Be courageous. Don't be afraid.
- 27:24I'm with you. So yeah, God does not say like,
- 27:28so he created, you know, the world and there's going to be
- 27:31natural disasters, there's going to be life.
- 27:34People are going to die. Like you're going to have
- 27:36stress, you're going to have ups and downs.
- 27:37Things are going to happen when you're just like, what the heck?
- 27:41And so he doesn't promise it's going to be perfect life.
- 27:45But hey, you will go through trials and tribulations.
- 27:47But I'm always there with you through the ups and downs.
- 27:50I'm always there with you this while you're visitors on Earth.
- 27:54Like this is not, this is not what it's designed to be.
- 27:57This is what humans have done to this place.
- 28:00That's why I keep trying to save everyone and I keep trying to
- 28:03warn everyone I'm coming back at some point.
- 28:05And there's a real heaven in hell.
- 28:06So like, follow me. Love God, love people and know
- 28:11that I'm with you through the ups and downs, through the sad,
- 28:13through through the through the just miss like not
- 28:16misunderstanding, but through the through the things that
- 28:19don't make sense. Yes, yeah.
- 28:22And that's beautifully said. Can you tell me for somebody
- 28:25who's maybe maybe where I was two years ago when I was and
- 28:30just, I think all of us can relate to that on your knees
- 28:33moment where you're just like, I don't know, man, I don't know
- 28:36about this one. Like there's too much like I
- 28:40remember being in this room actually, but then feeling like,
- 28:44wait, there's some somebody's here, something's here.
- 28:49Like I'm not, This is so I feel so desperate, but I feel a
- 28:53presence here with me being like, just breathe, call your
- 28:59friend, just breathe right for you.
- 29:03If someone's listening going like how do I know if God's
- 29:06there? Like what does God, What does it
- 29:07feel like for them? What how do you know?
- 29:10And tell me if this is just a very personal question, but how
- 29:12do you how? How do you experience God's
- 29:15presence? Yeah, so I would say I'm someone
- 29:18who I know my wife has visions and my wife hears from God.
- 29:22I know for me I don't as much. So I also say there's a lot we
- 29:27don't know, but there's also everyone's a little bit
- 29:30different. So some people, they experience
- 29:32them through just those feelings, right?
- 29:34And things that we think just might be our conscience, you
- 29:37know, Well, that could be the Holy Spirit, right?
- 29:39And actually I'm in a guy's group, like a ACEO group of, of
- 29:43entrepreneur Jesus guys. And I was just talking about,
- 29:47yeah, I don't really hear from God.
- 29:48Then I mentioned all the things that that I experienced.
- 29:51He's like, you totally do. You're under spiritualizing it.
- 29:55And then also the another like dinner, a dinner, meeting with
- 30:00some other friend, couples from church.
- 30:03You're talking about how like, yeah, I don't know if I really
- 30:06see visions or I don't really hear from God as much.
- 30:09But then I'm telling them what I believe is going to happen.
- 30:11What, you know, what I believe is going to happen with the
- 30:14church or with these people or whatever.
- 30:15It may be a situation that usually comes true.
- 30:19They're like, that's yeah, you're hearing from from God.
- 30:21So I don't audibly hear from him, but I would say just that
- 30:25peace and joy that I feel when I'm in prayer, when I'm in the
- 30:30Bible, when I'm worshiping, I feel at most when I'm
- 30:33worshiping. And side note, you think about,
- 30:36you know, the, the, the the devil was the worship leader up
- 30:41in heaven before he, you know, came down and took third of the
- 30:45angels with him. So think about just the music
- 30:47that is like demonic and all that out there.
- 30:50Like we are being controlled our feelings with music.
- 30:52And so I feel it most when I'm at church in worship, hands
- 30:57raised, just submitting to to God and not worried about anyone
- 31:01around me and just feeling that sometimes it's tingly, but a lot
- 31:05of times it's just this overwhelming.
- 31:06It's like a flow of like of just like just peace and joy and
- 31:13little tingly. That's how I would say I
- 31:15experience him most. I love that.
- 31:19And that's that's what I have started to feel going to church
- 31:22since April. I went on this retreat, had a
- 31:26really amazing experience with these women and then went to
- 31:30church and was like, whoa, what is this mute this music?
- 31:34It just was like so vulnerable and so real.
- 31:39And you can just feel everybody's bringing whatever
- 31:42adversity, whatever pain they have.
- 31:43And you're just, it's a beautiful experience.
- 31:46Like the music, you know, I also experience a lot, like through
- 31:51just connecting with people. And I get chills a lot.
- 31:53Like I'm like, it's not cold. There's no way, like even a lot
- 31:58just now, I get floods of chills all the time when I'm like, but
- 32:03no, I just love, I love hearing how different people experience
- 32:09God because, yeah, a couple people at my church, one of them
- 32:12sees angels, one of them, she hears things.
- 32:17Another one has visions. And people are like, oh, yeah, I
- 32:20don't. But I know they know.
- 32:22They can feel how people feel and intuitively know when to
- 32:25call. And hey, I was just thinking
- 32:27about you. When that person's like having a
- 32:29breakdown, you know, it's all these little connections and
- 32:31intuitions. It's actually God.
- 32:34We talked a little bit before. So you are.
- 32:37Tell me more about this new church.
- 32:39Sure. So you've got the book, you've
- 32:41got 40 Forge, you've got YouTube channel, you have Instagram, all
- 32:48these different ways you are helping to spread the word of
- 32:52God and also bring your skills through your sales career.
- 32:56And you're just mentoring, connecting with people.
- 32:59It it sounds like you're at a really exciting time in life.
- 33:03I am, yeah. Very exciting time.
- 33:05But what's been exciting about it is this just submitting and
- 33:11two years ago about when I got that demotion and I said, all
- 33:14right, perfect, I'm going to stop building my Kingdom and
- 33:17start building God's Kingdom more as a focus.
- 33:19It's just been, it's amazing how God has worked in, in and
- 33:24through myself and my wife. And so just what's happened with
- 33:27your young adults ministry? Yeah, the growth with those
- 33:30people and the growth in the numbers has been awesome.
- 33:33The courage and commitment to writing the book and the journal
- 33:37and the 40 Forge program, It's just, yeah, it's like all led to
- 33:40this point. And so we're doing something
- 33:43crazy. We never like in this how I know
- 33:44it's God, because if if it's going to happen on my own will
- 33:48versus God has to be in this for it to happen.
- 33:51It really helps me be excited. I'm still nervous.
- 33:55I'm still scared, but it's like if all these people in the Bible
- 33:59can do these life or death commitments or have these
- 34:03challenge or courageous moments, I can't move, you know, 30 hours
- 34:09away to help build a church that we love and are a part of.
- 34:14Why not? So, yeah.
- 34:15So three years ago our pastors came to us and said, hey, we're
- 34:18looking to plant churches. We've gotten a vision.
- 34:20We want to go to five cities. I think it's so Vancouver and
- 34:24then Detroit, LA, Portland, Seattle.
- 34:28So they, they had a, they had a little meeting and said, hey,
- 34:31who's opened maybe helping us expand?
- 34:34So our title of the church or our, our mission statement is to
- 34:37bring the life giving message of Jesus to the 92-O and beyond.
- 34:40That's our area code 92 O. And so we had a beyond crew and
- 34:45we were open to it three years ago.
- 34:46And then they were looking around trying to find out the
- 34:50the next city and trying to find leases and all that.
- 34:52And there's a couple years of just like nothing, nothing.
- 34:55So we thought, OK, I'm thinking God, all right, this is like an
- 34:58Abraham moment where you want to see if he'd sacrifice his son
- 35:01Isaac. Is he really going to do it?
- 35:03Is he committed? OK.
- 35:04And then he didn't have to God, God stopped it.
- 35:07Just wanted to see if he's all in.
- 35:09So I'm like, all right, sweet. And I do not like change.
- 35:12I don't like I'm all about convenience.
- 35:15And I had a hard time moving 30 minutes from a city away to
- 35:19where we are now when after wife and I got married and we were
- 35:22looking for for a home. So that now we are open to going
- 35:26across the country is is all God.
- 35:28And yeah, basically got real like four months ago where a
- 35:31pastor's like, hey, we got a a lease is ready to be signed.
- 35:35Are you guys really in or not? Because we'd love some help.
- 35:38So we're like, Yep, we're in. And that's been so cool to see
- 35:42God work and see everything that's happened brief from three
- 35:46years ago to now. And it's like God was like, hey,
- 35:50are you all in Cool. Now we're going to start working
- 35:52on you. So clear out the, the drinks and
- 35:55the gummies, clear out my, my pride and my focus on my title
- 36:00and building my Kingdom. And then get, get some content
- 36:03out, I guess with books and journals and then young adults
- 36:07ministry and watch my wife and I work together and grow this
- 36:11thing and impact people. So we have more confidence and
- 36:14courage to help the church that's going to be out there.
- 36:17Just it's all God all the way through it.
- 36:19And that's just us, let alone the other people involved in
- 36:21that. So we're so excited to take the
- 36:23road trip out there and see what see what happens.
- 36:27And again, with just submitting and surrendering and going.
- 36:30All right, God, what's next? It's exciting.
- 36:33And it's there's no pressure. Everything's off because it
- 36:36doesn't matter. It's all God's plan.
- 36:38He's not going to call us out there for it to crumble or for
- 36:41us to struggle. There's going to be ups and
- 36:43downs, right? There's anything but.
- 36:46Yeah, it's all right. What are you up to?
- 36:47God? This is we see.
- 36:49We see what you've been doing. Let's let's go.
- 36:52Really cool and, and, and what a great service to do.
- 36:57I know all of those cities and well, every city in the world
- 37:00needs more of God, but in particular, you know, the cities
- 37:04in America that really need some extra love, right?
- 37:07And then because because it is a battle zone down here in a lot
- 37:11of ways. And you know, it's just once you
- 37:16get on this road. And I think I'm at the very
- 37:18beginning because this podcast has evolved into it was funny
- 37:22when I was at this retreat in April, just kind of reminds me
- 37:26of like your journey where you're like, OK, it's been a
- 37:29podcast about adversity. And everyone knows I've been
- 37:31always been spiritual and into quotes.
- 37:33But I was at the retreat and this this girl said she goes,
- 37:37oh, is it like a Christ LED podcast?
- 37:39Is it like Christ centered? Is it?
- 37:40And I remember being like, I think it is now after this
- 37:43experience, like, and then literally a week later I was
- 37:46adjusting the design on Canva and I was like, you know what,
- 37:50putting a cross up there because I took this hike on this.
- 37:52It's a whole story when I was like, it is now like you just is
- 37:57now after I've experienced, I experienced the Holy Spirit
- 38:00there and I'm like, whoa, I get it now.
- 38:03I get what everyone was talking about.
- 38:05I didn't get it. I didn't feel it before, but I
- 38:07wasn't open to. I was like, it's when you submit
- 38:10and you go all right, like I, I can't, I'm screwing myself up
- 38:15here. I need I need you.
- 38:16He's like, all right, let's go. Yeah, finally, Bree, let's go.
- 38:22It's like I've been waiting. Tell me what you think about
- 38:25this. I heard again, I'm all over the
- 38:27place, but I think essentially this is all the conversation of
- 38:31what your book is about. You know, wake up Jesus, people.
- 38:34What your church is about, what all your content is about is
- 38:38like getting back to God and incorporating God into your
- 38:41daily life, right? Would you say, tell me about
- 38:45this? Because people say, you know,
- 38:48how do you have such faith if you know God brought you, you
- 38:51know, you came to God through this horrible situation or
- 38:54experience like that doesn't sound very loving.
- 38:57And I heard someone say like, yeah, because I you finally pay
- 39:02attention. That's the little things, the
- 39:05little God nudges. They're like, OK, she's not
- 39:07getting it. And then it, it, it, it's in
- 39:12your broken moments. It's interesting how you find
- 39:15God. What do you think about that
- 39:18when people. Say, yeah, I would say yeah, for
- 39:20sure God wants. I mean, we are his children.
- 39:23He wants us just to love him and to follow him.
- 39:26It hurts him so much to see us living in sin and to be making
- 39:31mistakes. And again, all the commandments
- 39:34and things, if you look at it more of, of like success tips
- 39:38versus rules, it changes the whole game.
- 39:41Yeah. And there's a lot of
- 39:42denominations or, or just people who think, oh, it's all about
- 39:46the rules and regulations. No, those are guardrails for us
- 39:49to protect us in this world because it's not easy.
- 39:52And here's how to let you know. Be be great and enjoy this time
- 39:58while you're here. And then follow my ways.
- 40:01And he'll speak to you and the, the, the road map is there in
- 40:04the Bible and a lot of a lot of Bible believe in churches have
- 40:07it there with the support for you.
- 40:08But until you hear him, it's going to keep getting worse.
- 40:12And so he's going to send some feathers right your way.
- 40:15And if you bucked him off, you're like, Oh, no, those no,
- 40:18those are just in my way. And if you're getting bricks
- 40:20thrown at ya and you're still not stopping or listening like
- 40:23that Mack truck is going to come in and and get them is going to
- 40:27knock you out. And most of the time it's when
- 40:29you're so broken, you're on your knees and you're just like
- 40:32submitting and going, OK, I've tried this on my own, I'm done.
- 40:37God, I need you. And so I don't believe
- 40:42necessarily that he causes all of that, but it's, it's allowed
- 40:46until for the greater good of waking someone up.
- 40:49So like my wife, her mom died of breast cancer a while ago and
- 40:54that was such a transformative moment for her.
- 40:56She was spiritual and like she was into like some of the like
- 41:00the tarot cards and all that stuff too.
- 41:02And like all like this chakras, like the spiritual stuff.
- 41:06But it was she was searching and with her mom's faith and then
- 41:10her mom passing away, horrible thing.
- 41:13But if that created my wife and my wife's family and everyone we
- 41:18influenced to be in heaven, it's all for the greater good and her
- 41:22mom's in heaven smiling down her going keep going, keep keep
- 41:26doing it. And my wife now she she's on
- 41:28staff as a pastor as well. And so it's like you think about
- 41:32that. She would not one we wouldn't be
- 41:34married because she wouldn't be. We connected over Jesus right
- 41:37away. That was the foundation of my
- 41:39next person because I had to call off the other Yeah,
- 41:43wedding. But it's like God's going to
- 41:46speak to you, however he needs to get your attention.
- 41:49And as you're going through these tough moments, it also
- 41:52allows you to be a messenger for him because now you know exactly
- 41:58what they've gone through, right?
- 42:00Your best audience, the best person you can help is someone
- 42:02who was you. And so there's some of the
- 42:05phrases you like, quotes. It's God uses your mess for his
- 42:10message, right? He uses people who have gone
- 42:14through something help people who are going through something,
- 42:18right. It's just it's all part of, you
- 42:21know, helping everyone wake up, follow him and it's sometimes
- 42:26people you need a couple map trucks so they.
- 42:31Absolutely no 100% and we had talked a little bit before we
- 42:37got on the podcast. For me, that Mack truck moment
- 42:40was just kind of realizing the situation I was in with like a
- 42:45narcissistic abuse, abusive relationship that I was just
- 42:51entangled in. And looking now two years later,
- 42:56I mean, the level of joy and depth I have now is I couldn't
- 43:02have been here, right? So it was a tough way to get
- 43:05there. However, I know it's for the
- 43:07greater good now. I know because I see who I've
- 43:10become. I'm a different person.
- 43:12I see where the podcast is going.
- 43:14I just see the he always, they always say, right, God takes it
- 43:18something that was meant for harm and turns it into good.
- 43:21And I see that now. And we had briefly talked about
- 43:24you have experience with the effects of a narcissist,
- 43:31anything that you are comfortable sharing.
- 43:33A lot of the audience the podcast is recovering from
- 43:36narcissistic abuse, or maybe they don't even know they're
- 43:39experiencing it, but. Sure what?
- 43:42What has been your experience and how has God helped you
- 43:45through that? Yeah.
- 43:46So if you have someone in your life who is, yeah, who's a
- 43:51narcissistic person, it's, I feel like everything God's at
- 43:56the center. So I'm going to go back to, to,
- 43:58to God here is like man just to pray for them and to pray for
- 44:02the peace and joy and pray that they are going to find Jesus.
- 44:07And if they already know Jesus, that therapy is going to help
- 44:10and things are going to happen to help them.
- 44:13But also you got to set boundaries.
- 44:15So there's been multiple talks about boundaries and about what
- 44:20is acceptable behavior. And if they don't like, it's
- 44:23like, sorry, this is these are the boundaries we're, you know,
- 44:28in our relationship for this to continue.
- 44:31This is going to be what's expected.
- 44:34Yeah. And so, yeah.
- 44:36And just treating that person with love, knowing that we are
- 44:39all, we're all human and we're all broken from the sin in the
- 44:44world and from our parents who did their best.
- 44:47And so if you're dealing with someone, whether it's a loved 1,
- 44:50you know, a parent, a friend, it's like knowing like, OK, this
- 44:54is probably stemmed from something, some kind of abuse,
- 44:57most likely. Yeah, back.
- 44:59And like, hurt people hurt people, right?
- 45:02And there's a lot of people that are stuck in there when they
- 45:04were hurt or abused at three years old or 10 years old.
- 45:08And so it's like they're just doing their best with the tools
- 45:10that they have and that stunted growth has caused them to like
- 45:15react a certain way and be narcissistic or be the way they
- 45:18are. So of course, I'd say to
- 45:20encourage them to get help, speak to them in truth and love
- 45:26and give them grace because half the time they don't even know
- 45:28that they're doing it. And if they're doing it and
- 45:31you're not saying anything, that's your fault.
- 45:33Be right. It's like you got to tell them
- 45:34and let them know because we all have those blind spots and some
- 45:37people it's the narcissistic tendencies or it's just
- 45:42something else. They're struggling.
- 45:43With anything they need to be well people, I think part of
- 45:47being a Christian right is speaking your truth, speaking
- 45:52the truth and I think I always think about like part of my
- 45:57spirituality and thank you for kind of sharing that is just
- 46:01trying trying to cultivate that forgiveness.
- 46:05I will say it's quite challenging when you've gone
- 46:08through narcissistic abuse, but I am going to continue trying my
- 46:13very best because I know that if you really want to be like
- 46:16Jesus, I have to get there. And I have to see anyone who's
- 46:22hurt me as this little child because we are all little
- 46:25children. Like God wants us to come to him
- 46:27that way. So if I've been given grace, I
- 46:30have to give grace. And I'm getting there.
- 46:32I'm getting there, but I have a ways to go.
- 46:35Yeah. And for me, it's easy to forgive
- 46:37them, but not to forget. And this will get triggered.
- 46:41And what I have to also remember is like they've come, they've
- 46:44they've made progress. They've come a long ways in some
- 46:46of the conversations in the boundary threat.
- 46:49So it's like, let's give them grace.
- 46:51Let's pray that I don't get triggered.
- 46:53Let's also pray that they remember some of the things we
- 46:55talked about and that, you know, that's better.
- 46:57But it is a process. It's like anything.
- 46:59And so, yeah, I mean, really with God, it's it makes it
- 47:03possible. I know I mean bless you if if
- 47:06you can do it without God, but man, there's so many things I
- 47:08cannot do unless if I had God. Yeah.
- 47:13And what I, what I've realized and I think what your book is a
- 47:17great tool, I think for somebody, for any of my
- 47:20listeners that are going through that, just that reclaiming of
- 47:24self, whether it was narcissistic abuse or anything,
- 47:26being lost in your job and being like, OK, if you're listening to
- 47:29this and you're like, OK, I'm open, I'm open.
- 47:31You need God and you need sort of a framework to get you to
- 47:35just get you moving literally from the beginning of the day.
- 47:39So I can imagine if you're doing these exercises in the morning
- 47:43and having that sacred start, if and when you are triggered by
- 47:47you, I mean me, you, you're like, wait, I prayed about this
- 47:52this morning. I talked to God about this.
- 47:54We went through this scenario already.
- 47:56Here it is, right? Oh yeah.
- 47:59Oh yeah. On the way, on the way to
- 48:00advance or on the way to to meeting that person.
- 48:02It's like praying at the Holy Spirit works miracles that this
- 48:06person doesn't get under your skin or that you can just show
- 48:10them so much love and grace and that they also aren't as bad as
- 48:14they used to be. Yeah, I got to tell you, I have
- 48:17started praying before meetings like I have.
- 48:20I have my corporate job. I work for service now.
- 48:22And this is this is as my inner critic tells me, this is my
- 48:26little wannabe podcast on the side.
- 48:28People used to ask me, oh, you have a I'm like, no, I'm not
- 48:30really. It's just I'm just it's nothing,
- 48:33you know? But now I'm like, yes, it is a
- 48:34podcast and I talk about God and it's great.
- 48:37Like you have to, you know, love yourself.
- 48:40But where was I going with that? There was a point to that
- 48:43question. I've found myself integrating
- 48:47God into not just the Sunday Christian, but literally being
- 48:51like, OK, I have a big meeting or a meeting in general.
- 48:54I prayed before this part. I pray before it all now, but I
- 48:58used to think it was funny. I'd be like free, you're praying
- 49:00before a call about an IT issue or whatever.
- 49:03I'm like, no, I'm praying. Help me connect and be authentic
- 49:07and send a message that if you don't know what people are going
- 49:10through on the other side of the call.
- 49:12So talk to me about talk to me about how people can or how in
- 49:17your experience, how saying little prayers are talking to
- 49:21God throughout the day. So you have the sacred start.
- 49:24How do you incorporate God in those busy moments when you're
- 49:28doing this? You're on a call, you're moving
- 49:29the kids, you're planning the church, you're How do you keep
- 49:34him as a constant stream? Sure, a few ways.
- 49:37So the the main thing for me as I think about it is worship
- 49:40music. I don't really listen to
- 49:42anything except for worship music and it's just in the car
- 49:44around the house while I'm working out everything.
- 49:47It's worship music and it's just So what it fills my mind and my
- 49:51body with my soul with makes me better prepared to go into those
- 49:55calls and to those moments of parenting or whatever it may be.
- 49:59Definitely. I prayed, yeah, I prayed before
- 50:00this podcast. I prayed before all the moments
- 50:02because I want the power of the Holy Spirit to come through and
- 50:05for me to also be prepared and remember what's important here
- 50:09and not be all about me, you know, but how can I serve and
- 50:13you know, going into tough conversations with my spouse or
- 50:16tough work meetings for sure. I want, if I'm a Jesus believing
- 50:20person, I want all the help I can get.
- 50:23And if you think about prayer, you know a lot it's and there's
- 50:26some cool things in social media now and the way AI works, things
- 50:29you can see like some cool visuals of like you praying and
- 50:33like, you know, angels coming in, stop in.
- 50:36I love that one. It's literally you praying on
- 50:39your bed and angels drop in and start fighting and I'm.
- 50:43And that's what it's like. They are sent on a mission.
- 50:45When you pray, it's like little arrows of angels being sent on a
- 50:49mission. And there's unbelievable things
- 50:51happening, I mean, all the time, But now even more, we're aware
- 50:54of it because of social media and and the Internet of like
- 50:57there's miracles happen all day, every day.
- 50:59And how many people had to pray for that, right?
- 51:02There's the, I forgot to say it, maybe Mark Patterson, but just
- 51:06basically like the unfortunate thing is how many answered
- 51:10prayers are waiting that just were never prayed?
- 51:12How many dreams were never accomplished because they were
- 51:15never prayed. And so the more you can pray
- 51:17before anything, even if it's a placebo effect, right?
- 51:21If you go in knowing I got Jesus on my side, I'm ready to roll.
- 51:25I'm going in this with more love or more confidence.
- 51:27Whatever it is, you'll do better.
- 51:30It's such a, it's such a great, great energy because that Jesus
- 51:35energy that just there's no condemnation.
- 51:39It's all love it, but it's strength.
- 51:42It's all of those things, right? And I know we're coming up to
- 51:47the top of the hour here. I'd say another little fun thing
- 51:50if I can add, but I'll do and I'm looking for long syndrome.
- 51:53I have them on my desk, but I'll have in my car or my backpack.
- 51:57I know those little tiny Jesuses.
- 51:59You've seen those. Yes, those are awesome.
- 52:01I love. I got one on the retreat.
- 52:05That's so funny that you said I'll.
- 52:07Plop them around little restaurants or at the gym or at
- 52:10a conference and it's awesome. It's so fun.
- 52:13So it also keeps on your mind. You're like, how can I give a
- 52:16little Jesus to to someone or just it's just a fun little
- 52:20reminder as well. And those little things, no,
- 52:23they're sound like a powerful prayer.
- 52:25But hey, it's just that Jesus is on your mind, is a part of your
- 52:28life, and you're trying to also let others know.
- 52:31Yeah, no, amazing. And I, I, I, I know I always say
- 52:37this at the end of every podcast, there's so many like
- 52:40tunnels I want to go down. And you know what we're going to
- 52:42have to do when you're settled in Seattle, we'll have to do
- 52:45another podcast, maybe from your new church telling us how our
- 52:49things are going. And no, I just again, I want to
- 52:541st thank you for connecting, for coming on the podcast, for
- 53:00telling your story. And also just I want to remind
- 53:05people of the resources that are available, right?
- 53:08So look in the show notes, your book Wake up Jesus people, Jason
- 53:13Heinrichs, you have 40 forge a page on Instagram.
- 53:18Then you have your page. I'll put all the links to your
- 53:21YouTube, all the things, but I think your message is God is God
- 53:27is here for us, we are here for each other.
- 53:30And I think if we're all like tapped into God, there's so many
- 53:33amazing things we can do. Yeah.
- 53:35Right. So anything you want to leave us
- 53:38with beyond that? I would say if you are, yeah,
- 53:42I'd say whether it's my resources or other resources,
- 53:46there's so many great resources out there.
- 53:48And the biggest resource is your local church.
- 53:51And you're looking to just check this thing out, this Jesus thing
- 53:55out. Like there's a great local
- 53:56church near you with your denomination that you can go
- 53:59check out, check out other churches, check other
- 54:00denominations. And if, if, if some church hurt
- 54:04or some person hurt you or stopped you from pursuing him,
- 54:08that's not God, that's a hurt person or that's a bad church.
- 54:13So just know that the, the community, that peace, the joy,
- 54:18the people to do life with is is at your local church.
- 54:21And so get in, get involved, meet people, join life groups,
- 54:25buy resources, because this is the most important decision you
- 54:30can ever make. And sometimes you just got to be
- 54:33hit with a few bricks and a few Mack trucks before, you know,
- 54:36you check it out or get reinvested or reignited.
- 54:39But you know, my hope and pray that all of you listening don't
- 54:42get hit by map trucks and you you go check things out or you
- 54:46just there's a lot of things that are confusing.
- 54:48There's a lot of things I don't have answers to, but just go to
- 54:52church, see how you feel. Do you feel better?
- 54:54Are the people nice? Can you find extra friends?
- 54:58Just go check it out because he loves you.
- 55:01He's waiting there for you and we're all on a journey just
- 55:04trying to do our best as well. Well, please go check it out.
- 55:08Wake up, Jesus, people. I know I'm gonna be ordering it
- 55:12and I'm gonna be posting. You know what?
- 55:13I'm gonna post a few reels. I'll do my sacred start and I'm
- 55:17gonna be accountable because, you know, you got to.
- 55:21You got to do what you say you're going to do.
- 55:23Yeah. Well, thank you, Jason.
- 55:25And I can't wait for this to come out.
- 55:27I know it's going to really touch some people who might be
- 55:29going through some stuff. Yeah.
- 55:31Thanks, Bree. Thanks for having me.
- 55:32You take care.
