- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat, where we have devotional conversations
- 0:06rooted in Scripture and relevant for today, January 5th.
- 0:11Divine GPS. Have you ever trusted your own
- 0:14sense of direction only to realize later you were
- 0:16completely wrong? Proverbs chapter 3 verses 5 to 6
- 0:21invites us into a different way of living.
- 0:23Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your
- 0:26own understanding. Acknowledge Him in all your ways
- 0:29and He will make your path straight.
- 0:32Trusting God doesn't mean turning off your brain.
- 0:34It means recognizing that His perspective is bigger than
- 0:37yours. In Matthew chapter 2, the wise
- 0:40men followed a star they didn't fully understand simply because
- 0:44God was guiding them. When God warned them in a dream
- 0:47not to return to Herod, they listened and changed direction.
- 0:51Their obedience protected them and kept God's plan moving
- 0:54forward. Sometimes God's guidance leads
- 0:57us down unexpected roads, but those roads are always covered
- 1:00by His care. When you trust God's direction,
- 1:03even detours have purpose. Even unfamiliar paths can lead
- 1:07to joy, growth, and protection. You are never lost when God is
- 1:11leading, even if the journey feels uncertain.
- 1:14Let's pray. Heavenly Father, help me trust
- 1:16You with all my heart. Teach me to release my need to
- 1:19understand everything and follow your guidance.
- 1:22Instead, when you call me to change direction, give me
- 1:25courage to obey. Lead me on paths of peace and
- 1:27purpose as I walk with you in Jesus name, Amen.

- 2:59heart and don't lean on your own understanding.
- 3:02In all your ways. Acknowledge Him and He will make
- 3:04your paths straight. Matthew Chapter 2 World English
- 3:08Bible Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days
- 3:12of King Herod, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem,
- 3:16saying, Where is he who is born King of the Jews?
- 3:19For we saw his star in the east, and have come to worship him.
- 3:23When King Herod heard it, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with
- 3:26him. Gathering together all the chief
- 3:29priests and scribes of the people, he asked them where the
- 3:32Christ would be born. They said to him in Bethlehem of
- 3:35Judaea, for this is written through the prophet.
- 3:37You, Bethlehem, land of Judah, are in no way least among the
- 3:41Princess of Judah, for out of you shall come a governor who
- 3:43shall shepherd my people Israel. Then Herod secretly called the
- 3:47wise men and learned from them exactly what time the star
- 3:51appeared. He sent them to Bethlehem and
- 3:53said, Go and search diligently for the young child.
- 3:56When you have found him, bring me word, so that I also may come
- 3:59and worship him. They, having heard the King,
- 4:02went their way, and behold, the star which they saw in the East
- 4:06went before them until it came and stood over where the young
- 4:08child was. When they saw the star, they
- 4:11rejoiced with exceedingly great joy.
- 4:13They came into the house and saw the young child with Mary his
- 4:17mother, and they fell down and worshipped him.
- 4:19Opening their treasures, they offered to him gifts, gold,
- 4:22frankincense, and myrrh. Being warned in a dream not to
- 4:26return to Herod, they went back to their own country another
- 4:29way. Now when they had departed,
- 4:31behold, an Angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream,
- 4:34saying, Arise and take the young child and his mother, and flee
- 4:38into Egypt, and stay there until I tell you, for Herod will seek
- 4:42the young child to destroy him. He arose and took the young
- 4:46child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt, and was
- 4:50there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled.
- 4:52Which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet saying Out
- 4:56of Egypt I called my son. Then Herod, when he saw that he
- 4:59was mocked by the wise men, was exceedingly angry and sent out
- 5:04and killed all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all
- 5:07the surrounding countryside from 2 years old and under, according
- 5:11to the exact time which he had learned from the wise men.
- 5:14Then that which was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet was
- 5:16fulfilled, saying a voice was heard in Rama, lamentation,
- 5:21weeping and great mourning. Rachel weeping for her children.
- 5:24She wouldn't be comforted, because they are no more.
- 5:27But when Herod was dead, behold, an Angel of the Lord appeared in
- 5:30a dream to Joseph in Egypt, saying, Arise, and take the
- 5:34young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel.
- 5:38For those who sought the young child's life are dead.
- 5:41He arose and took the young child and his mother and came
- 5:44into the land of Israel. But when he heard that Archelaus
- 5:47was reigning over Judea in the place of his father Herod, he
- 5:50was afraid to go there. Being warned in a dream, he
- 5:53withdrew into the region of Galilee and came and lived in a
- 5:56city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled, which was
- 6:00spoken through the prophets, that he will be called a
- 6:02Nazarene. Thanks for joining us on Bible
