Transcript
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville, Jack Horse fans, welcome into Duval Daley, presented by Genjag.com.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Aluga, thanks so much for being here Wednesday, October 1st, yes, we are already in the second month of the 2025 NFL season.
- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: And with that, we are taking a look around the web at Power Rankings.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_00]: Started this last week, I believe, and we're just looking at NFL.com.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_00]: Eric Edholm, ESPN.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: Profitball focus, Yahoo, and the athletic.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: In my opinion, those are the three biggest power rankings that come out every single week.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: And so we're looking at each of those and we're just kind of taking a look at where the Jack Wars are at and the power rankings.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: What is the national narrative on?
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: your favorite football team, these Jacksonville Jack Wars really appreciate you being here.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll just check out jing Jack.com's last shot pickups in New Dove all gear.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll start with NFL.com Eagles, Bills, Lions, Rams, Seahawks all the way up at five.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: That is incredible.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: Packers at six after a loss to the Browns.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: And then a tie with the cowboys, I guess I understand a little bit of uneasiness there, but I wouldn't be worrying about them too much.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: Buccaneers at seven, I think that's a little high.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: Chargers at eight, chief set, nine.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: And a lot of people will be mad about the chief two and two at nine.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not, I just think, you know.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: the chiefs are inevitable until they're not.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: The cult at 10 at 3 and 1, commanders at 11 at 2 and 2, they've been dealing with quarterback injury, 12 and for Broncos, 2 and 2.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguar's 3 and 1 at 13.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know why the Broncos should be in front of the Jaguar's right now.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_00]: I definitely don't.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: But we have Eric at home saying this was a gutsy hardvot roadwin over the 49ers with the Jaguar's defense amazingly turning in their four straight game with three or more turnovers forced and they needed every single one of them along with Parker Washington's part return touchdown.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: to pull off the 26 to 21 victory.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: That's now 13 takeaways on the season, and several of them have come at critical times.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_00]: The question is whether Jackson will maintain this absurd pace.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: The obvious answer is no, and the devins of injuries are starting to add up.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar's can't afford to lose Trayvon Walker for an extended period of time and hope for the devins to be this impactful.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: Going forward, the offense has given the team some
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguars pass game has to get better.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think the penalties have to be turned down a bit on offense.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think defensively as we talked about earlier.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: No, they're probably not going to average 3.25 takeaways per game over the next.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: 13 games.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: No, they're probably not, but can they average over two?
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they can and I think that they will and they did most of the damage against the 49ers without Trayvon Walker in the game, by the way, not saying that it's not a big deal of the end up missing him for any period of time.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: It absolutely is a big deal, and they have to overcome it.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: But I think they have the tools to be able to hold the fort to, you know, kind of steady
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: earlier and I talked about yesterday I think that this defense can still maintain.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: So 13 to me, a little bit low.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think they should be ahead of the Broncos.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: I think they should probably be ahead of the commanders.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: Colts.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: If they had to play right now, I'd pick the Jack Wars.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: Chiefs, very interesting one.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Chiefs deserve probably to be where they are.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: Probably even higher.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Buccaneers are too high.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: I think the C Hawks are too high.
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: But good thing is, Jaguar's gets play Seahawks, very soon.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguar's gets to play the Chiefs very soon.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: They'll play the Colts twice, they'll play the Broncos.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll find out, and obviously things will change between now and those games.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: So Jaguar's play the Seahawks, not very long from now, a couple weeks.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: They play the Chiefs on Monday night.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, we'll find some things out.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_00]: But I think 13's a little bit low.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: All right, what do we got here?
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: ESPN Eagles, Bills, Lions, Rams, Chargers, Buccaneers all the way up at six.
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry, I don't really believe in the Buccaneers.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: They have a lot of injuries on the offensive line that have really hamstrung them in my opinion, and then they also have just
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think a little bit of a difficult path to really threading the needle and winning the NFC.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: I don't see it.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: Kansas City Chiefs at seven, Packers at eight.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Packers should be higher.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: Seahawks at nine, Colt at 10.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: Steelers at 11, I think they should be significantly lower.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're frauds.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: 49ers at 12, Broncos at 13, Jaguar's at 14.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: How are the 49ers ahead of the Jaguar?
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: like look and they're up from 18 to 14 so they did bump them up I get that but like the jags have the same record they just beat them in their own building and yeah you can say the 49ers have injuries just the jackwares had injury issues as well
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so the Jaguar is at 14.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar is lead the NFL and called and accepted offensive penalties.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: That includes 10 holding penalties, second most in the league behind Tampa Bay.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of funny.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: And seven false starts, that's keeping Liam Cohen's offense from getting into rhythm and plays a large part and the Jaguar is only converting on 35.2% of their third downs, 25th in the league.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I agree with all that stuff.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: And so the weight ESPN,
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: Picks of blur about their power rankings is they have like a topic.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: And so the topic for this week was the biggest issue on offense penalties.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: So that's why the entire blur from Mike Duraco is about penalties.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: So don't just blame Mike for only talking about that.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's the assignment here for these ESPN writers.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_00]: All right, oh, oh, we saw that one.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: All right.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chief Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles, Rams Los Angeles, Chargers San Francisco 49ers, Commanders, Bucks, Broncos, Seahawks, Jags.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: You know, 49ers all the way up at eight with the Jaguars at 13 is mind blowing to me.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: As the weeks progress, the Jacksonville Jack Wars offense continues to put the pieces together.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: The rushing attack is 11th in EPA per play, following the 26 to 21 roadwind against the 49ers in the passing game arguably looked as good as it has all season.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: And that's with Brian Thomas Jr.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: and Travis Hunter, still finding their roles in the offense, following an excellent roadwind that Jack Wars are now three and one.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: They sure are three and one, aren't they?
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: Up three spots.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: Put some respect on their name, man.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: That's crazy.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: Crazy in my opinion, have the 49ers eye.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: All right, what do we got here?
- 7:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yahoo, I like how Yahoo starts at the bottom.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: Titan Saints, Jet's Dolphins, Panthers Giants, Bingo's Browns, Raider's Cowboys Texans, Patriots,
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: Falcons, Bears, Cardinals, Vikings, Commander, Steelers, Ravens, 49ers, okay.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: So the 49ers are behind the Jaguars and this one by one spot.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars are at 12 up from 16.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: There is room to grow for the Jaguars.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's an important point.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence is not playing well, Brian Thomas Jr.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: has just 164 yards.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: They're still figuring out how to use Travis Hunter and still Jacksonville is three and one after a nice one at San Francisco.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: And the Jaguars are tied for first in the AFC South, a big home game versus Kansas City awaits.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think Trevor Lawrence is.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: not playing well, can he be playing better?
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, can his receivers be playing better?
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, can the penalties help him out?
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, all of these things can be true.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: In our final, if we can get our computer to load here, the athletic, New York Times, athletic, whatever you wanna call it.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bill's Detroit Lions, has everyone been exactly the same Rams,
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: I don't buy it, I do not buy it.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: Jag wars, seven, goodness gracious.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: Jag wars at seven.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: They were at 16 last week.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: They just beat the 49ers.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: Rookie Spotlight is on Travis Hunter.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: As promised, the Jag wars have tried a little bit of everything with the second pick.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: He has played 250 snaps so far, according to true media, 150 doing offense, 95 on defense at the round special teams.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: On Sunday, he concentrated on offense, playing 38 snaps there against only nine on defense and had three catches for 42 yards, including a career along 28 yarder.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: He is a team second leading receiver with 13 catches for 118 yards and has 11 tackles on defense, fourth round, back, facial, two, and has 21 carries for 80 yards.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for reciting stats and not any analysis at all, the athletic, but at least the athletic has the Jaguars up at seven, which honestly might be a little high.
- 9:12[SPEAKER_00]: I still think everybody is overrating the buck in years a little bit.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_00]: Do I think that would be a playoff team?
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: Do I think that they're going to win more than one playoff game?
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: 49ers are still too high in my opinion.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: Colts down at 11.
- 9:30[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, cool, the Jaguars are at 7.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: But some actual analysis would be cool.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: And I know this is like the same thing as the...
- 9:40[SPEAKER_00]: ESPN one where they have like an assignment that they have to talk about, it's the rookie spotlight, but it'd be nice to just talk some ball instead of spewing statistics with no context or analysis.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: That's my opinion.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Jags 7 is the highest.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: What did we see was 14 the lowest?
- 10:06[SPEAKER_00]: 13 something like that?
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: calculated this out earlier, what the average was.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: The average is 11.8, so 12.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think they should be in the top 10.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: Their force in turnovers, they're stopping the run, which no one is talking about.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: How good they've been stopping the run against opposing running backs.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: I have Virginia only 3.4 yards per carry allowed.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_00]: They're multiple in their fronts.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: They're multiple in their coverages.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: They are extremely difficult to prepare for, offensively.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: Their running game is on point.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: They've got some players in the past game playing really well.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_00]: past protections, getting the job done, Britain's strange.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: They did not have down me brown back last week, hopefully he'll be back, but you still have BTJ and Travis Hunter who can elevate Trevor Lawrence, who can elevate?
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: There should be higher.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: There should be higher.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_00]: What do y'all think?
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know in the comments section below.
