- 2:19Show with Jimmy Fallon, America's Got Talent. Been on Conan O'Brien, talented
- 2:24comedian at the Dallas Comedy Club this weekend in d f Ellam. Funny happens
- 2:29here Dallas dash Comedy Club dot com. So I ran a poll on Twitter
- 2:42the night of Thanksgiving, and that was asking the very very important question who
- 2:51looked better the Dallas Cowboys or Dolly Parton. I like how you guys had
- 3:04different answers there, because Dolly Dolly Parton's opponent is far more significant in that
- 3:09it's age time and age are a far better opponent than the Washington Redskins.
- 3:15Yes, can I just say it? Yeah, and I'll be I'll be
- 3:23the one to do it. I'll honest. I you know, I don't
- 3:30care how how good a shape you're in, just don't wear that outfit at
- 3:38seventy seven. Just don't just don't. I don't, it's not I just
- 3:42that's I can't un see it now. And for me, like the Donalds
- 3:46cow Wood cheerleader uniform is like I see it on Halloween and it's always like,
- 3:53you know, not a seventy seven year old. Why was she holding
- 3:58onto the wall so? Like? What was going on? Like what she
- 4:00having a hard like I'm trying to figure out. The voice was impeccable and
- 4:04her singing skill never never questioned, but I just thought like I was worried
- 4:10for her because at one point, the reason that she was holding onto the
- 4:14mirrored wall is because the stage that was built for her was not eighty eight
- 4:18compliant and did not have those metal handy rails that they're supposed to. And
- 4:30also even though they couldn't see them, I think that her trying to wear
- 4:33the Cowboys cheerleader boots might have been a little too much. She could have
- 4:39been wearing white crocs with like the white leather uppers or something just look like
- 4:46the cheerleader boots. No one would have ever known. You never saw really
- 4:48below her knees anyway. Yeah, I think it would have been awesome,
- 4:53Like if there was a chairlift that brought her up onto the state, that
- 4:55would have been fantastic too. No, but she, I mean, she
- 5:00seems again, she seems in very good health and she looks good, and
- 5:02God bless her surgeon and the many people, the team that it takes to
- 5:09make all of that happen, the whole thing. But it just Uh,
- 5:13I was worried just for her age and holding onto the wall, and she
- 5:16was trying, and then uh, here's the thing. And I don't know
- 5:20if we can call it out. Don't sing queen, don't, don't do
- 5:25it, don't do it, don't don't I know, don't don't do it
- 5:29because Freddie and Mercury had a difficult time singing his own songs. Yeah,
- 5:33live, because studio when you're doing an album versus live are two vastly different
- 5:41things. But the way I typically judge an artist is how much you sound
- 5:46like the album version of you in person. If you can sound very close
- 5:51to how you sound on the album in person, you get my stamp of
- 5:56approval. Whether or not I even like the music, I just want to
- 5:59know do you sound close to it. If you do, my hats off
- 6:01and take my money. And my girlfriend looked at me and said, you
- 6:05know, Freddy would have loved the fact that Dolly Parton was singing his songs.
- 6:11And I said no, no, I said no. I said no
- 6:15because I said he would want to be the only queen there. And that's
- 6:17just a fact. He named the band, so he knew exactly. Like
- 6:24I know, there's a lot there's a lot of people that will disagree with
- 6:29me, and that's fine. I was just like, that's just not a
- 6:32good We are the champions, let's not let's not do that. But that's
- 6:38I mean, she's promoting her new album. Yeah, was there not a
- 6:42different song? I mean, it's all she's covering rock hits, so I
- 6:46I don't know all the content of the album, but yeah, hey,
- 6:50you know, well you're seventy seven, and especially you also remember that stage
- 6:56is something they erecked and move out there very quickly, so it may not
- 6:59have been the most stable of things. That's what I was wondering. Was
- 7:01it too, like limited space from where the lights were to where the back
- 7:06of the stage was, so she couldn't really move but she was holding onto
- 7:11the wall and I was like, well, then just don't move, so
- 7:15I don't know her voice. I mean, just incredible. I mean,
- 7:19she's always been just such a gifted singer and brilliantly and she's just a good
- 7:25human, that's the other thing. She's phenomenal. So she did a very
- 7:29brilliant thing before the before the show at halftime Cowboys versus Commanders, which of
- 7:34course, obviously the Cowboys kick the crap out of the Commanders forty five to
- 7:38ten. Yeah, she donated a million dollars to the Salvation Army. So
- 7:46you, in effect, at that point, you're buying any sort of criticism
- 7:50away. You like, look, you can criticize me holding onto the wall.
- 7:55You can say, ooh, what's you know a seventy seven year old
- 7:58woman doing wearing a cheerleader out fit. You can say, which some people
- 8:01did, Okay, the lip sinkings over whatever. But at the end of
- 8:05the day, she gets to say, I donated a million dollars to the
- 8:09Salvation Army. Shut up. Yeah, yeah, I mean that's true.
- 8:13And then yeah, you look like Fuddy Mercury left his estate to his cats.
- 8:16So you're like, okay, Dolly, part of that million dollars is
- 8:22great. But she also she donated a million dollars to the outfit that came
- 8:26up with the COVID vaccine, so we can also thank Dolly for that.
- 8:31So uh yeah, yeah, I mean, great humanitarian, great artist.
- 8:37She was singing over her own track, which I mean, I think we
- 8:39all figured that out by the first minute in her singing yeah, And guess
- 8:45what, that's totally fine. Every major star does that these days because they
- 8:48they pick and choose, they have a live mic, but then they sing
- 8:52to their own backing track. It's still them singing. Yeah. That's the
- 8:56nature of the game these days because it is so important nowadays to put on
- 9:01such a phenomenal concert because that's where the artists makes so much of their money.
- 9:05Now it's not so much on the album sales anymore. It's on those
- 9:07tours. It's on those individual shows. So you want to put on the
- 9:11best show possible. Whereas obviously Dolly's different. She's seventy seven. She's not
- 9:16running around doing dance routines the way Beyonce and Taylor Swift are. Yeah,
- 9:20so that's why they will sing to their backing tracks, because they're going to
- 9:24be out of breath for a good chunk of the concert, but they still
- 9:28want to be able to sing at points where they can and talk to the
- 9:33audience. Yeah, and so I think it's more accepted nowadays. Yeah,
- 9:37uh yeah, one hundred percent. You know, even Michael Jackson, who
- 9:43had one of the greatest voices, would sing over his own tracks and sometimes
- 9:48he would just mute his mike and lipsing because the dancing was so difficult.
- 9:50But no, I mean I thought it was a good halftime show. I
- 9:54thought it was. I was. I was worried because I was like,
- 9:58I don't know if there's enough room, or if she is just unstable in
- 10:01the shoes or it's just age. But overall, yeah, I mean it
- 10:07was and regardless you want to talk about brilliant. Could you even monetize the
- 10:13amount of social media exposure she's gotten in the last twenty four hours. Nope,
- 10:20yeah there's yeah, there's no Yeah, that's yeah. I mean,
- 10:22brilliant marketing, brilliant whoever, whoever her PR people are. It was.
- 10:28It was great. It was just the whole thing was fantastic. I mean
- 10:31overall, I was just worried, like I just didn't like the Queen cover.
- 10:35I didn't Nine to five was cool. I've never seen the movie.
- 10:41I just know the song at times out. You haven't seen any of the
- 10:45major white people's staples, Raj. Yeah, I kind of grew up with
- 10:48Indian people, So my mom is that why on your Instagram? Even posting
- 10:54all the Bollywood superhero movies that I've only seen at Alamo draft House before the
- 11:00actual movie comes on. I it's the Bollywood, It's the Bollywood Batman,
- 11:05which, don't get me wrong. Yes, that's an electric dance that that
- 11:11Bollywood Batman is doing. Yeah, Bollywood Superman can certainly cut a rug too.
- 11:18Yeah. You know, I find I love my people, I love
- 11:24the industry. I have friends that are film actors in India and when I
- 11:33just see stuff like this and I'm like, what are we doing? Like
- 11:35who greenlit this? Like who went here's a bag of money, go make
- 11:39that movie. Make sure he's in the Superman costume, get him the But
- 11:46what I love is that they don't waste money on the costumes themselves, because
- 11:50like the Batman costume, the Superman costume, the things that you that you
- 11:54see in the Bollywood versions of these films, those are the same costumes that
- 11:58we go by spirit Halloween yes, and and and this is so that's why
- 12:05I'm convinced my people came up with Spirit Halloween the store because I see those
- 12:11and these are all like eighties and nineties, and I'm like, they had
- 12:13this before the store existed. So that was some somewhere there was an Indian
- 12:16guys like we got a market, like we can we can sell these?
- 12:22Yeah, so that I did. We watched a lot of Bollywood. My
- 12:24dad was the first one to show Indian movies in the theater here in in
- 12:31North America. It was the first guy to do movies here. So I
- 12:35grew up watching a lot of those. My dad never came home like,
- 12:37you know what we should watch today? Nine to five? That was not
- 12:41a That was not a movie though, Like I would watch the Bollywood version
- 12:46of that though, yeah, I mean if there was, If there was
- 12:48a Bollywood version of it, I'm sure we watched it. I don't know
- 12:52what the movie's about, I do, I do. It probably wasn't nine
- 12:56to five because the Indian people don't know forty hour work weeks. It might
- 13:03be more like it might be just called Monday through Sunday nine to nine.
- 13:11But isn't it Dabney Coleman was Yes, yeah, Tomlin, Jane Fonda.
- 13:16It's basically about a misogynist boss who Yeah, I did see, I did
- 13:22see the scene where they kill him, like they all fantasize about killing him
- 13:26whatever it was. Trey said that again, a misogynist boss whatnot who terrorizes
- 13:31say the whole thing again. Well, no, now I don't know what
- 13:35I said. No, it's good. I'm not setting you up for anything.
- 13:39Oh, it's a misogynist boss who terrorizes his three uh female employees.
- 13:45Basically, if I remember, I haven't seen nine to five in years,
- 13:48but had you not said female, we all would really identify with that film.
- 13:50Well, that's that's why I wanted you to restart it. I got
- 13:56it back looking at looking at Dolly Parton's rock Star album, which I remember
- 14:01hearing about this, uh maybe a couple of years ago, at least at
- 14:07least a year and a half ago, when the when the news came out
- 14:09that she was going to be doing a rock album because at the time,
- 14:13working at you know, ninety seven to one The Eagle in Dallas, it's
- 14:16a rock station. Dolly Parton's going to do an entire album of massive rock
- 14:20hits. We heard about it, right me take it to the track list,
- 14:24because RAJ, you were saying that she had no business, you know,
- 14:26trying to cover Queen, trying to do Friddy Mercury's voice, which,
- 14:31by the way, very few people in the world could do that. I
- 14:35didn't say she had no business. I said I didn't like, Oh you
- 14:39did, I didn't. I didn't. I didn't like that she covered Queen.
- 14:43It was it was it's just you just don't like there's certain songs you
- 14:46get it's difficult, right, and another and you know who else you know,
- 14:48another singer that I would throw into that pantheon of unless you have equal
- 14:54vocal talent, don't even try, would be a Steve Perry from Journey,
- 14:58Right. Yes, that's one of the other things that she covers on her
- 15:01album. She actually does open Arms by Steve Perry other other So let's as
- 15:11much as I love Steve Perry, let's not forget he got replaced by you
- 15:15know, some tie guy that they've you know, saw on YouTube doing karaoke.
- 15:20First, first of all, Trey, he's still a pen oh my
- 15:22bad. Second of all, all that proves is there are only two people
- 15:28were aware of on this planet that confront for journey two Yeah, two people
- 15:35out of like seven something billions. Still pretty good? Is Steve Perry still
- 15:39maybe crying in a corner into his piles of casual maybe a little bit,
- 15:45but still that's that's one other guy his voice. But he lost his voice.
- 15:50No, that wasn't true. That was a big, big smear tactic
- 15:56from the rest of the band. He was. They were going on tour
- 15:58because they wanted. So he wrote a lot of the songs, right,
- 16:02I think almost all of them. So the royalties, he gets a bigger
- 16:06chunk right than the rest of the band. So the rest of the mend
- 16:08you make your money, like you were saying, Dan, touring and making
- 16:11sure the concerts are amazing. And he was working out in Hawaii getting ready
- 16:17for this tour because they are exhausting. So these guys do like Cardio and
- 16:21they get in the gym and they work out. He was he was running,
- 16:26luckily, he was near his house. He was running up the side
- 16:30of a small mountain and his hip locked and he couldn't move, and turned
- 16:37out he has a degenerative bone disease or whatever it was for his hip.
- 16:42So he had to have a hip replacement, which was going to delay the
- 16:45tour another six to eight months, and the band was like, fu,
- 16:49we need to make money and found Arnell Pernaeda is the guy's name, and
- 16:56he's a karaoke He was just a karaoke guy in the Philippine who made his
- 17:00money, uh doing the voice of Steve Perry. So that's how they replaced
- 17:07him. So uh yeah, that's other tracks on Yeah, some other tracks
- 17:11on Dolly's rock album. Freebird by Lynyrd Skinnard. Okay, that's fine,
- 17:17Magic Man by Ann Wilson, Let it be Paul McCartney Ringo Star, Every
- 17:22Breath You Take by Sting. That's not a vocally challenging song necessarily compared to
- 17:26some of these others either or by kid Rock. Oh no, definitely not
- 17:33an operatic version. What else hit? I've never heard of that particular song.
- 17:41I mean, honestly, if I'm going to, you know, if
- 17:45I'm going to pay for Dolly parton covering a kid rock song, we all
- 17:48can agree it's gonna it's got to be Bob with THEBA, right yeah,
- 17:52yeah, or just don't do anything with kid Rock he's terrible, or she
- 17:59can sing to Bob while she shoots cases of bud light with an automatic weapon
- 18:03and then gets spotted probably drink. Yeah, my money is on Doling Dolly
- 18:08being more accurate than than Kid Rock. Absolutely, is there any doubt that
- 18:14you give an automatic weapon to Dolly Parton, She's going to be more accurate
- 18:17with it than she used to shoot muskets. So yeah, most people don't
- 18:29realize that that she was. She was the songs to set the front of
- 18:33of pickets charge you're listening to. The Treehouse is online. That Treehouse on
- 18:45air dot com this week at the Dallas Comedy Club from the Tonight Show Conan
- 18:55O'Brien and America's Got Talent, it's DJ Dimmers. I love when I'm in
- 18:59a public place and I do something amazing and somebody sees it. You have
- 19:03like a random moment of greatness and there's witnesses. Doesn't even have to be
- 19:07anything vague like you have you like a knock your hat off your head and
- 19:10you like catch it behind your bag. Somebody sees it, like whatever.
- 19:17I was at an airport and I was going through security and they wouldn't let
- 19:19me take my water through. Very dangerous and so I chrugged my water and
- 19:25then I was looking around for the nearest recycle bin. I found it was
- 19:27like fifteen feet away, and I was like, I'm going for it,
- 19:33and so I started aiming at There was no water left in this, you
- 19:36know, it required a lot of precision, very light, and then the
- 19:38actual bin just had a tiny little circle, just big enough for a can
- 19:41or a bottle to go into a high degree of difficulty. But I'm like,
- 19:45I'm doing this, I'm going for it. I throw it, perfect
- 19:47rotation right in the hole just disappeared, and I mean they were like everybody
- 19:52in line saw the whole thing go down, and uh, you know,
- 19:56yeah, yeah, thank you, thank you. Yeah. I don't I
- 20:03don't want to make up a story and say they all started clapping or something,
- 20:06but uh, they wanted to. What a rash. That was eight
- 20:15years ago. I still think about it every day. That's DJ Dimmers this

- 21:36or cookdfw dot com. So we need to, uh, we need to
- 21:41address the snoop in the room because last week, last week, we got
- 21:48bamboozled, we got snookered or snoopered into believing the announcement that Snoop Dogg posted
- 21:56on Instagram, saying that he was quick smoke and asked for privacy at this
- 22:03time. Yeah, he was not actually quitting marijuana. He's just promoting a
- 22:12smokeless fire pit. It was pretty good I got when he said, please
- 22:19respect my privacy, my fani. No, no, don't give him credit.
- 22:22He made fools out of us. We have to be angry. I
- 22:26am mad, but if we're being psychologically accurate here, I'm not mad at
- 22:30him. Deep down, I'm mad at myself for believing it and not looking
- 22:34at it with more, you know, with a with a more discerning eye,
- 22:38without suspicion. Because the idea that someone, as we discussed at length
- 22:45last week, a man that smokes in the neighborhood of eighty one joints a
- 22:48day and employees a small country for people to keep him supplied with marijuana,
- 22:55which would have a massive effect not only on the California economy, but the
- 22:59US as a whole. It was silly of us and me to buy hook
- 23:06Line and singer that that he was quitting marijuana overnight. Instead, He's basically
- 23:11pitching a smokeless fire pit. And I'm stupid. Yeah, but you get
- 23:17me think about where it really is it is remarkable that he has come to
- 23:22a point that a mid fifties rapper has become such a cultural icon that he
- 23:29just puts out that little video and it's all everyone can talk about. I
- 23:33mean it's on every national newscast, it's everywhere. Yeah. But the thing
- 23:38I still can't grasp and I have, you know, I have friends,
- 23:41as I'm sure you all do that that are big smokers of of the weed
- 23:48we do. His name is. You don't have to pretend you can't hear
- 23:53you a half pound a day as much beard animal yay weed. I mean
- 24:06that's an enormous amount. Yeah that I imagine Snoop Dogg would say that about
- 24:12you if he heard how much you would drink in a day. Well and
- 24:18fair enough and yeah, but I mean even a half pound, that's a
- 24:22lot. Like yeah, I mean even even the big smokers. I have
- 24:27to be like, yeah, no, I'd be dead. Yeah no.
- 24:30I mean I you have to basically be successful enough to where you're like,
- 24:37I don't need to work anymore, so now I can dedicate all of my
- 24:40day to smoking weed. That's what that is. You don't you got to
- 24:44put in an eighteen hour day yeah, it really probably is the hardest he's
- 24:48ever worked. Yeah, there's a there's a Bollywood actor who smokes. They
- 24:52say, they say, uh, it's been He's known to smoke four packs
- 24:56of cigarettes a day. And I'm like, when do you get time to
- 24:59act more doable? Okay, I guess I've never done that, trying to
- 25:08smoke four packs of cigars in a day. But yeah, and I will
- 25:12give credit to Trey. He was trying to like he found this sounds stupid,
- 25:18but the softer side of snoop uh, He's like, you know,
- 25:22he's a grandpa. Maybe he wants to be a little more in tune with
- 25:26his grandchildren, Like Trey was trying to justify. He Actually he has talked
- 25:30about stuff like that. Like I said, there was a brief period where
- 25:34he did quit, and but it wasn't he didn't make an announce or anything
- 25:40else like I said. It was. I want to say it was one
- 25:41of the guys from Earth Wind and Fire that had to talk to him.
- 25:45It was talking to him. It was like, you know, you need
- 25:47to knock that off. I used to do the same thing, and definitely
- 25:55not the Wind either. I don't really think it could be earth either,
- 26:02because you got to grow it somewhere. What's the other element that we're missing?
- 26:10Water for the dry mouth, you can, you know. But yeah,
- 26:18I mean like Trey was trying to find these and it was very sweet.
- 26:21And then I saw the announcement. It was like, oh, for
- 26:22a fire pit, hilarious. And then I started thinking about Trey when he's
- 26:26like, you know, maybe he just wants to hang out with his grandkids,
- 26:27and I was like, and it turns out, though, we don't
- 26:30have to take that sweetness away from Tray Raj. And this is what I
- 26:33mean by that. What Trey said about the softer, gentler side of Snoop
- 26:37Dogg's still accurate by promoting a smokeless fire pit, because then that way,
- 26:45you know, Snoop can still enjoy his marijuana around the fire pit. And
- 26:51what good is a fire pit if it's just you. You need to have
- 26:53friends and families surrounding it. So it's Snoop smoking his weed, showing his
- 26:59great kids how to properly you know, roll joints. Yeah, but it's
- 27:04it's without the irritation of a smoke from a fire pit getting in the way.
- 27:10Yeah, that's what I think the smoke was fire pit, except for
- 27:12when you add Snoop then it's just it's just a fire pit with with different
- 27:17kind of smoke. I mean, this is this is the guy that was
- 27:19the face of gangster rap thirty years ago and is now. You know,
- 27:25he's still married to his high school sweetheart, dad granddad, buddies with mar
- 27:30I mean, he's besties with Martha Stewart. Like, yeah, you are
- 27:33talking about I mean, like I said in the in the early nineties,
- 27:38I mean I never forgot like MTV News would cut in and do specials back
- 27:42if anyone remembers when you know Kurt Loder all about you know, Snoop's murder
- 27:48trial everything else. I mean, he was the face of gangster rap.
- 27:51He was like enemy number one. Now he's best he's with the whitest woman
- 27:55of white women. And when you say and when you say gangster rap,
- 27:57it's just it's so white. I appreciate its time. That is what it
- 28:06what it was filed under. I agree with you. It's an automated term,
- 28:10but at the time, that's what it was. Yeah, yeah,
- 28:12yeah, I mean in Trey's defense, there was there was one other white
- 28:17man that would say gangster rap with way more whiteness, and it was in
- 28:19fact Kurt Loader. Yeah, that is true. Uh he was he was
- 28:26old then he was. I don't know if was the A of MTV,
- 28:33yes, but I don't know. If you know this, Kurt Loader was
- 28:37the story runner for Walter Cronkite. If that if if you want to age
- 28:41yourself like I just did right now, he was the story runner for Walter
- 28:45Cronkite. I'm like, how do you get the job at MTV when you're
- 28:47like, what's your resume? I used to work for Walter Cronkite, you
- 28:51know what? Getting here? Loader? You know what, though, I
- 28:55can understand why, I can understand why Bob Pittman, who's you know,
- 28:57the current you know, head of I heart Radio, iHeart Media and at
- 29:02the time helped to create MTV, I could see why it passed down to
- 29:07let's get a Kurt Loader in here to give us, to give this network
- 29:11some credibility. He was the guy that that tore the news off of the
- 29:15eight p printer and took it to Walter Cronkite. That's all the credibility we
- 29:18need. Throwing him on TV and just make sure he loves guns and Roses.
- 29:25Yeah, bre Straits, I'll make sure you bump Paul Short. You
- 29:34know. It was him and Tabitha Sworn. Tabitha Sworn, Yeah, and
- 29:40they were like two MTV news. I wonder what happened to them. I
- 29:44don't may have died recently, did he really? I don't think so.
- 29:48I think I think he's no, maybe he's like seventy or I think maybe
- 29:53maybe or something. He's either dead or I know I saw his name.
- 30:02You know, it's just one of those names I haven't seen. And you're
- 30:03and if you're of our age that like no one else would give two rats
- 30:08ass about Kurt Loder, but for us, we grew up on that crap.
- 30:12But he also was there for so many years. He was also the
- 30:15one that broke the news, broke all the major breaking news on MTV,
- 30:19including things like Kurt Cobain being dead. Yep, yeah, he's not dead.
- 30:26He's just seventy eight. Coincidentally, just one year older than Dolly Parton.
- 30:33Yeah. Yeah, I'm looking at the I'm looking at his up not
- 30:41even updated headshot, his headshot from twenty fifteen. Yeah, Dolly's fine.
- 30:49Kurt Loader looks like he's the cryptkeeper. He was. Yeah. So at
- 30:53this point, anyone complaining that Dolly Parton at seventy seven shouldn't be wearing a
- 30:57Dallas Cowboys cheerleader costume should think, well, the alternative could be Kurt Loder,
- 31:03and I don't Here's one thing I've always wondered about Dolly Parton. How
- 31:07is her plastic surgeon not the number one? Like? How does everyone in
- 31:11Hollywood not go? Can I have his number? Uh? I'm sure she's
- 31:15got several. I'm sure, I'm sure that she's all. I mean,
- 31:19you look at some of the people that have had bad work, and she's
- 31:22been had like, she's had work done, I would saying, yeah,
- 31:26and still looks good compared. And then you look some of the people,
- 31:32i mean, Meg Ryan comes to mine, or just some of the people
- 31:34that have bad bad If there was ever a time that I would consider plastic
- 31:41surgery, the people as much as I despise them, that I would go
- 31:45to to try to find out who their surgeons slash surgeons are is the Kardashians.
- 31:49You go to them first. They have the most experience, they have
- 31:53the most obviously a wonderful success rate. Yes, but see, but this
- 32:00is with Dolly, Unlike the Kardashians, there is a time element there that
- 32:05we don't have. You don't have the full study on the Kardashians yet,
- 32:07But Dolly, you're talking about a good thirty forty years of work and she's
- 32:12still and you if you didn't really know who she was, you would not
- 32:15go, oh my god, she's been reconstructed. Yeah. I think she
- 32:21had that fight a little bit. I think she had the first boob job
- 32:24ever I want to give her. I think she I think she invented them.
- 32:30She's just like, figure out how to put these in me? You
- 32:32know what, that's actually not a bad theory. Maybe, Yeah, I
- 32:37don't know anybody else. Herself was her own searcheon. She didn't trust anybody
- 32:44else. She puts her musket down and fills up a water balloon, takes
- 32:51the billy knife out. You know what, I'm not ever going to try
- 33:01to verify that. That, to me is the new history. You're listening
- 33:16to The Treehouse. Visit us online that Treehouse on air dot com. Let's
- 33:25talk to Daniel Cook from COOKDFW Roofing and Restoration eight three three COOKDFW for your
- 33:30free roof inspection the website to see all the fantastic work that they do is
- 33:35COOKDFW dot com. Daniel, you were telling me a little while ago that
- 33:38you saw that the actual bar from the set of Cheers sold at auction for
- 33:44some huge amount. So I'm curious if there was something for sale from one
- 33:49of your favorite TV shows, what would it be that you would actually bid
- 33:52on at an auction. Oh my gosh, Dan, it has to be
- 33:54Star Wars. I mean, just the age I am and going to the
- 34:00original Star Wars I still remember because I grew up in Denton. I still
- 34:02remember going to the theater in Downtown on Downtown and watching Star Wars in the
- 34:08theater. I can still remember doing that, and that was something that stayed
- 34:13with me. And then every episode that ever came out, Empire Strikes Back,
- 34:15returned to the Jedi, and then I met several of those actors when
- 34:20they were doing their little tours. I met Shebaka, I met the guy
- 34:22that did Darth. I mean, so I met all and have to be
- 34:25Star Wars, I would have to say, man, and that stuff goes
- 34:29for a lot of money. I think somewhere that like one of the x
- 34:34Wing x Wings or something like that just sold an auction for like a million
- 34:38dollars that was on a set. That's one of those things where if I
- 34:42had like Elon Musk money, instead of wasting it on a social media platform,
- 34:45I'd go buy an X Wing and then take it to Lockheed Martin and
- 34:49say make it fly. Yes, that'd be so freaking off. I almost
- 34:53want to go to Disney World just to go and look at the Star Wars
- 34:58thing. Dude, I think that would be so awesome. I'm with you.
- 35:00So I was really excited when they announced the the Star Wars you know,
- 35:04attractions stuff at at Disneyland and Disney World. And one of the first
- 35:07things I wanted to do, uh and I will do someday is I want
- 35:12to get a drink at the Cantina bar, the one from the original Star
- 35:15Wars. I think that's awesome. You still got that ring tone, don't
- 35:20you? Absolutely that is my ring tone. The Cantina song from Star Wars
- 35:24is absolutely my ring tone. When I have my volume on, when I
- 35:30send a text message, it's the It's the x It's the X Wing shooting
- 35:35noises. When I get a when I get an email, it's Chewbacca doing
- 35:37the roar. Yeah, all of it. Love it man. By the
- 35:42way, Daniels, since part of your business is restoration, you do a
- 35:45lot of remodeling inside the home, Like you could build yourself the cantina bar
- 35:50if you wanted to and just don't tell your wife. I would think that,
- 35:52or I was also thinking maybe like a facade of like the Millennium Falcon
- 35:57or something. I would like a Millennium Falcon themed bathroom and the toilet is
- 36:00Han Solo's seat that I will then use, and then when I flush the
- 36:06toilet, you go into hyperdrive. Oh god, all right, I'm gonna
- 36:13looking. We're gonna figure out how alight I smell a team up here?
- 36:16All right? Be sure to give Daniel Cook a coffee, a free roof
- 36:20inspection, or if you too want a Millennium Falcon themed bathroom to see if
- 36:22you can figure it out for you. Eight three three cookdfw orcookdfw dot com.

- 36:31That is the phone number to reach Brooks Plumbing. I know some people
- 36:35know that phone number pretty well because Jacqueline, If I'm being honest, I've
- 36:37heard that your plumber is really get around. They do. They're very popular.
- 36:42I have a story. So today I get a phone call from a
- 36:45homeowner and he says, I need an appointment. I'm having issues with my
- 36:47sewer. I've only lived in the house two months and it is backing up
- 36:51everywhere. He gives me his address and I said, oh, we've been
- 36:53to your house and he says no, I've only owned the house for two
- 36:55months. And I go, oh, well, let's see what we did
- 36:58the first time we were there for the other guy. Come to find out,
- 37:01just five months prior, we looked at the sewer and it leaked badly.
- 37:07We very rarely recommend that you replace everything, but the sewer system was
- 37:13so defective we were suggesting a whole home reroute. The seller sold the house
- 37:19knowing it was defective and made it the new guy's problem. But we've been
- 37:23around since nineteen fifty six, strong chance, especially if it's an established house,
- 37:29not necessarily a new build. Maybe we've been there before. So I
- 37:31was able to look at the buyer and go, hey, look, I
- 37:34can tell you you own this property. I can tell you what we found
- 37:37the first time we were there. And so I was able to say,
- 37:39you need to get with your realtor, you need to see if your disclosure
- 37:43paperwork said all of this stuff that your seller maybe didn't bother to tell you.
- 37:49Now here's the thing. The seller of this home was a licensed real
- 37:53estate agent, meaning they should have known better. They bought the house with
- 37:58the intention to flip it. Flipped it, and because I'm nosy, I
- 38:01got into the Dallas Permit Department and looked, and they never pulled any permits
- 38:07for the remodel that they did. So I was able to screenshot that and
- 38:09send it to the buyer, my nice young man, and go, I'm
- 38:13your biggest cheerleader. You need me, you call me. That is outstanding
- 38:16service. That's why we love and promote Brooks Plumbing. So you give Jacqueline
- 38:21a call. She will fight for you. Sounds like a lawyer, I
- 38:23but she's you know, she's the queen of plumbing in Dallas, and she's

- 39:17out of Texas, but you'll never take way. Hang on, You'll never
- 39:21take the Texas out of the Texan. Yeah, that's that's Jacqueline's man Colby.
- 39:27Okay, let's just say he turned a few heads when he showed up
- 39:30to Hawk's Nest Beach wearing cowboy boots and jeans, okay, and a King
- 39:37Ranch baseball cap. I mean, the only thing he was missing was just
- 39:44a straight up Texas flag of some sort sticking out of some place. But
- 39:50it was awesome someplaces terrible with the come and take it sign right underneath.
- 40:00Let's fly. Don't go there. It does on some streets. It's a

- 40:52coming up Saturday, December ninth, another road show, but not just any
- 40:58Treehouse Podcast roadshow. Ow. Oh, we don't just do the same thing
- 41:01over and over and hope that you keep coming out because we're desperate for ratings,
- 41:07I mean downloads. What we want you to do is come have an
- 41:09actual good time and get something new and different with each time that you come
- 41:15see us in person. So for this Treehouse Podcast roadshow, you're not only
- 41:22getting just one new thing, You're gonna get a couple of new and different
- 41:24things. Number one, it is our Christmas party. It is the Treehouse
- 41:30Podcast Christmas road show party at Shaker Tins in Dallas, across the street from
- 41:37the Galleria. Go to Shakertins dot com. You can find out the location
- 41:43info or obviously just thrown into your maps app type in Shaker Tins. It's
- 41:46the midtown location. That is Saturday, December ninth, from four to seven
- 41:51pm. Part of that road show will include since it's a Christmas party,
- 41:57it will include a toy drive benefiting the war Center, which is just a
- 42:01couple of miles west of that Shaker Tins. They serve a very underserved community,
- 42:07which is special needs children. And so what we're asking for you to
- 42:10do, and I say underserved because the state really likes slashing state budgets for
- 42:16taking care of special needs kids. If you don't believe me, look it
- 42:20up. It's true. So places like the Warren Center help to fill that
- 42:24gap from the lack of funding at the state level and getting families to help
- 42:29they need for their special needs children. So what we're asking you to do
- 42:34at the Treehouse Podcast roadshow on Saturday, December ninth, four to seven pm
- 42:38at Shaker Tins. Midtemp is bringing a toy, a developmental toy for special
- 42:46needs kids birth to age three, Earth to age three. So whatever toy
- 42:52you bring, they will find a place for. But if you can think
- 42:57about, you know, like the things that would really help a child develop,
- 43:01so that you know from birth to age three and those there are some
- 43:06great places you can go to. You can look on Amazon as well.
- 43:09Is it lake Shore? The lake Shore stores have great options. What is
- 43:15what we're talking about? What kind of gifts are they? Because I've never
- 43:20had the children, so I don't know what that is. So it's a
- 43:23lot of things that were building blocks type things. Yes, ros, you're
- 43:28right on top of You're right there. Basically all the a lot of the
- 43:30toys I had to play with with my recent neurological pathology testing are the toys
- 43:37that we're asking you to bring to this road show. I really wish I
- 43:43was kidding and they were making that up. That made my day. So
- 43:49just imagine developmentally challenged two year old sitting next to me as I'm going through
- 43:53my testing and the child beating me. Yeah, just a two year old
- 43:59going to this guy needs help. You can give them my spot in mind.
- 44:04He clearly needs so anyway, bring bring a new toy for for a
- 44:10child birthday age three that can help them learn and help them to progress on
- 44:15their on their on their journey, and we'll take those to the Warren Center
- 44:21for those children that he didn't want them, which would be great. And
- 44:23another aspect of the road show that we will be doing at Shakerton's is a
- 44:30roast of me, which still sounds weird to say because I don't even like
- 44:34celebrating my birthday. But Roger's like, no, we should roast you.
- 44:36And I think it's really just an excuse for Roger to say mean things about
- 44:38me. Yes, but I'm a team player. If it put but if
- 44:44it puts butts in seats, I'm for it. Just all I ask is
- 44:47is please don't be cruel. No, it's all it's all in good fun.
- 44:53See they say that, but I also know that I've seen the roasts
- 44:57on Comedy Central, and those a lot of those were not in quote unquote
- 45:00good fun. They wanted to destroy William Shatner, they wanted to destroy Chevy
- 45:07Chase, and they did well, I mean where we're going for the persona
- 45:13helps me a little bit. I hope we're going for more of the Dean
- 45:16Martin type roast. I would like that. Let's all get drunk and enjoy
- 45:21each other's company. We give each other a hard time the way that we
- 45:22do normally, and no one is left crying in the corner afterwards. Yeah.
- 45:28I mean, they went after William Shatner, as they should, for
- 45:31just having released the album that he released in the seventies. Well, Shatner's
- 45:37always been known as an ahole, Like everyone hates them that one, but
- 45:40some of the other I don't care who it is, they're just mean.
- 45:44I mean, there is a fine line between funny and mean. I mean,
- 45:49Chevy Chase is also an a whole. Yeah, well, and it's
- 45:52very hard to work with. And that's why I'm saying, please don't do
- 45:54that to me, because I don't think i'm those guys. No. I
- 45:58mean, oh, that wouldn't even sound like fun. That would just sound
- 46:04like you'd have to go out of your way to do something like that,
- 46:07and we wouldn't be able to have on the Fly or the roast of Dan
- 46:10O'Malley. Instead, it would just be we're just gonna make Dann cry.
- 46:14Now, don't get me wrong, I'm sure some people would show up to
- 46:15witness that I have to be there, and I don't. I don't.
- 46:19I don't want to. I don't I don't want to cry. No,
- 46:22that doesn't sound like fun. We're just gonna hang out, have some cocktails
- 46:25and uh and and and make fun of you with the jumbo pencil. You
- 46:31know. The good news is though, as you can say, and you
- 46:34can write this one down for later is or maybe I'll use it. You
- 46:37could actually say all the terrible things you want about me, but by the
- 46:40next morning, I'm not gonna remember that anyway. Yeah, so anyway.
- 46:45Treehouse Podcast road shows Saturday, December ninth at Shaker ten's four to seven pm.
- 46:49Another new aspect of this that we're excited about is the fact that it's
- 46:52on a Saturday, so we don't have to worry about really rush hour or
- 46:53anything. You don't have to worry about getting out of work early. You
- 46:57can make plans to come enjoy the entire show. So the show will for
- 47:00basically four to six. They will do the roast immediately afterwards, bring a
- 47:04toy for a special needs child birth to age three. So we got the
- 47:09charity component obviously, and it's our Christmas party. There are other companies in
- 47:16this world that their idea of a Christmas party is simply to tell the employees
- 47:22they have to show up to entertain the clients. It's no longer a company
- 47:24party. It's a client party, which is no fun. We here in
- 47:30the Treehouse like to bring everybody in and have a party and have a good
- 47:34time and commiserate and enjoy the holidays or as Raj refers to them, December.
- 47:38Yeah, that's it was just it's a Thursday, but Mary Thursday.
- 47:45T you guys, Thank you, Roch, You're welcome. And there's and
- 47:50if you're like me, and we've discussed this before, there is plenty of
- 47:53parking like me that I'm telling you. If if you invite me somewhere and
- 47:59I have to, I'm on my second loop, I'm going home. I
- 48:04don't care what it is. I understand, I understand, I've been there.
- 48:07Yeah. The other night I met some friends over at the sidecar social
- 48:10uh, and I said, I'm gonna give it two laps, guys,
- 48:13And it was all my buddies before the Thanksgiving, Holidays and want and Christmas
- 48:17coming up, and you know, everybody's gonna be busy with their families.
- 48:21And I said, I'll do two loops and they're like, what happens after
- 48:23that? I'm like, I will leave, but it's all of us.
- 48:25And I was like, send me pictures. I'm out side. Yeah,
- 48:30I was somewhere else. Yeah, I'm that. I'm that old where I'm
- 48:34like it used to be like, so, who all's going? What kind
- 48:37of music is it? What? What the how's the food? Now I'm
- 48:40just like, is there parking? And if there's not. If there's not
- 48:44parking, I'm not coming. Uh. And So when I went to Shaker
- 48:46Tins to evaluate the the joint, I was casing the joint for Dan.
- 48:53I specifically walked around the parking garage to make sure that it was all parking,
- 48:59and then behind to the building is because it's Saturday, it's all parking
- 49:02back there as well. So yeah, there you go. Ample Parking.
- 49:07We should have we should have Brad from Shaker Tin's add that to the flyer,
- 49:12Ample Parking. Ample park Yeah, that's the name of my old people
- 49:15band. That's what we call Ample Parking. I do think I have one
- 49:21request for our Christmas party slash Treehouse Podcast roadshow at Shaker Tins on December ninth,
- 49:30and that is in our group text. Raj, you sent a photo
- 49:35of your turkey on Thanksgiving, Trey, we mentioned it in the Treehouse Plus
- 49:39episode. You sent a photo of the tenderloin that you made for your family,
- 49:45and I was very impressed. It's been a long time since I've had
- 49:50a good tenderloin so well, and Dan, you can testify this. Raj
- 49:54doesn't know that my meat is delicious. Jesus ch yes, but I was
- 50:00the tender look. I think I just realized another phrase we need to add
- 50:07to the flyer for the for the road show. We just added a meet
- 50:15and greet. I can't anymore. No, that would actually be hysterical.
- 50:37Trey's meat on a tray shaking hands. Remember the old Bachelor party movie the
