Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: What's up, everybody.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Welcome back to another episode of Bucco Territory, presented to
- 0:14Speaker 2: you by the Foul Territory Network. I'm no Ohile's joining
- 0:17Speaker 2: me as always are my co hosts platinum Key aka
- 0:20Speaker 2: Mark and Josh Harrison. You know, there was one good
- 0:24Speaker 2: thing that happened this weekend, and it involved the guy
- 0:27Speaker 2: in the middle of the screen.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Everything else went bad.
- 0:30Speaker 2: We're gonna talk about the collapse that is the twenty
- 0:33Speaker 2: twenty six Pittsburgh Pirates, who have lost all but one
- 0:36Speaker 2: of their series post All Star break.
- 0:38Speaker 1: I think what five straight series?
- 0:40Speaker 2: Now Yankees, Diamondbacks, Cubs, Reds, yep, who else.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Brewers and now Mets. So six straight series losses. Jay
- 0:52Speaker 1: Hay retired as a Pirate.
- 0:53Speaker 2: We're gonna talk about that, and then we will wrap
- 0:55Speaker 2: up the show with platinum Key's Key of the Week.
- 0:57Speaker 1: But guys, I mean, there's no way to sugarcoat this
- 1:00Speaker 1: is a collapse.
- 1:02Speaker 2: They This was a team that just a couple of
- 1:05Speaker 2: weeks ago was tied for a playoff spot. They had
- 1:09Speaker 2: a big series, they had a big home stand. They
- 1:13Speaker 2: didn't do anything with that. They had eight division games
- 1:17Speaker 2: in a row, lost six of those come back home
- 1:21Speaker 2: against one of the worst teams in baseball, and quite frankly,
- 1:24Speaker 2: they got embarrassed.
- 1:25Speaker 1: They were humiliated in their own ballpark.
- 1:28Speaker 2: They had a nice win on Saturday, they tried to
- 1:31Speaker 2: build some momentum off of that, and they came out
- 1:33Speaker 2: on Sunday and they lost by ten runs in a
- 1:35Speaker 2: game that they were really never in. Mark, I'll start
- 1:39Speaker 2: with you because I have a question for Josh after
- 1:42Speaker 2: I ask you, Mark, But just I mean, you were there, man,
- 1:45Speaker 2: like you're mister positive, mister pirate fanly saw you hoisten
- 1:49Speaker 2: the hell out of that cone Saturday.
- 1:53Speaker 1: How you feeling now? Man? Is the season over?
- 1:57Speaker 3: It's very close? I mean it's over. But at the
- 2:01Speaker 3: same time, I just pulled up that graph from fangrass
- 2:06Speaker 3: playoff odds July twenty seventh. This team had above a
- 2:10Speaker 3: forty five percent chance coming into the Sunday. Prior to
- 2:14Speaker 3: the loss of the Mets, it was eight point seven percent.
- 2:18Speaker 3: So it's this team's just fallen off a cliff. Seasons
- 2:22Speaker 3: not over yet, but it's the closest it's been over
- 2:25Speaker 3: all year long, and frankly, there hasn't been a lot
- 2:30Speaker 3: encouraging to say, oh, they're about to turn this around.
- 2:33Speaker 3: It's not like these have been like close losses recently.
- 2:36Speaker 3: They've just been getting their teeth kicked in Basically. You
- 2:39Speaker 3: look at Sunday's game against the Mets. They struck out
- 2:42Speaker 3: thirteen times, had zero walks, and only had four hits.
- 2:47Speaker 3: They had one chance with a runner and scoring position
- 2:49Speaker 3: the entire game. Pitching was awful today or on Sunday
- 2:53Speaker 3: as well, but I mean the offense has just been
- 2:57Speaker 3: anemic lately. And it was another left handed pitch so
- 3:01Speaker 3: or another left handed picture. So yeah, it's I want
- 3:04Speaker 3: to be optimistic, but there's just not too much to
- 3:06Speaker 3: be optimistic for that we've seen lately, which makes things
- 3:09Speaker 3: pretty tough to be a fan right now.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Yeah, and Josh, I want to get to you in
- 3:15Speaker 2: a second, but I'll just get some quick analysis here.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Like Mark said, I mean, just nothing's working, man. I mean,
- 3:20Speaker 2: the starting rotation is just a total flop. These guys,
- 3:24Speaker 2: no one. Bubba's the only guy who can go into
- 3:27Speaker 2: the sixteen thing now, and he's a rookie. Props to
- 3:30Speaker 2: him for showing up. At least someone stepped up. I
- 3:32Speaker 2: mean everyone else just looks completely out of gas. Yeah,
- 3:35Speaker 2: from Jared to Braxton to Skemes and Carmen you know,
- 3:40Speaker 2: whatever you want to call that, but like it's just
- 3:41Speaker 2: it's just bad.
- 3:42Speaker 1: And then the offense they have nothing.
- 3:45Speaker 2: I have more to say on this, but Josh, I
- 3:47Speaker 2: want to get your perspective because you've unfortunately been a
- 3:50Speaker 2: part of seasons like this eleven, twelve, sixteen, seventeen eighteen,
- 3:55Speaker 2: they all had some points in July where you guys
- 3:59Speaker 2: were in the mix and August was unkind to you
- 4:04Speaker 2: in some of those seasons. Take us into the locker
- 4:07Speaker 2: or the clubhouse, Take us into the life day to
- 4:10Speaker 2: day of a ballplayer who's on a team like that,
- 4:13Speaker 2: where you know your season slipping away.
- 4:18Speaker 4: As you said, I've been a part of it far
- 4:20Speaker 4: too many times, but you know it's one of those
- 4:23Speaker 4: things where you're still still a professional and you know
- 4:25Speaker 4: anything can happen. Your job is to show up every day,
- 4:28Speaker 4: get what you got and help when you help your
- 4:31Speaker 4: team win a ball game. And just as quickly as
- 4:34Speaker 4: things have kind of spiraled out of control, if you
- 4:37Speaker 4: pay attention to the day to day details, things can
- 4:41Speaker 4: trend upward. Obviously, it's an uphill battle, and you know
- 4:44Speaker 4: chances are very slim. But that's where you really have
- 4:48Speaker 4: to lock in and say, don't look too far ahead
- 4:50Speaker 4: of the season, don't look too far ahead of the schedule.
- 4:53Speaker 4: We got a job to do. Show up today. We
- 4:54Speaker 4: got to keep plugging away. You know, it could be
- 4:57Speaker 4: one pitch, one at bat, one series, one play that
- 5:00Speaker 4: can make it turn around. But at the same time,
- 5:04Speaker 4: you know you haven't done yourself any favors, especially you know,
- 5:07Speaker 4: post All Star break, and you know, I can remember
- 5:10Speaker 4: one of my first years, whether it's two thousand eleven
- 5:12Speaker 4: to twenty twelve, you know, it's feeling really good around
- 5:14Speaker 4: that July time. Then we get to mid August and
- 5:17Speaker 4: next thing you know, we're hearing let's go still the chance,
- 5:19Speaker 4: and you know that's never fun to hear when you
- 5:22Speaker 4: still know you have a full month or you know,
- 5:25Speaker 4: a month and a half left of baseball and that's
- 5:28Speaker 4: where they want to stay away from. And just one
- 5:30Speaker 4: of those things where you know where you're at and
- 5:33Speaker 4: it's not a comfortable feeling, but you know at the
- 5:37Speaker 4: same time you should never be comfortable in this game.
- 5:40Speaker 4: But in this moment, this is where it's like all
- 5:42Speaker 4: the work you've done in the off season, all the
- 5:44Speaker 4: work you've done during spring training and leading up to this,
- 5:46Speaker 4: it's like, hey, we got to put up a shut
- 5:48Speaker 4: up and you know what, there's no excuses at this point.
- 5:51Speaker 5: We just got to go and do whatever we can.
- 5:53Speaker 4: And see where the chips fall after that, because, as
- 5:57Speaker 4: I said, they haven't done themselves any favors, but as
- 6:00Speaker 4: not anything that they need to sit around and be
- 6:02Speaker 4: feeling sorry for themselves because just as bad as this
- 6:05Speaker 4: spiral for them, you know you need some help ahead
- 6:08Speaker 4: of you. But teams can also spiral as well. But
- 6:11Speaker 4: that's not your job to wear about. They got to
- 6:13Speaker 4: wear about the Pittsburgh Pirates.
- 6:16Speaker 1: I'm just gonna give a harsh truth here before we
- 6:18Speaker 1: wrap this up, this segment up. The Corgious isn't good enough.
- 6:22Speaker 1: You look, I mean the.
- 6:24Speaker 2: New pieces, when they've been around, they're the difference makers.
- 6:28Speaker 2: It's Connor Griffin whenever he's healthy. It's Ryan O'Hearn, it's
- 6:32Speaker 2: Brandon Laue, it's Jake Mangam. The reality is all the
- 6:36Speaker 2: guys who were here last year have not done their part.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Brian Reynolds has been a ghost since the end of June, essentially,
- 6:43Speaker 2: especially since the all Star Break, Paul Skin So we
- 6:47Speaker 2: don't even need to go down that road. It's beyond
- 6:50Speaker 2: explanation at this point. Jared Jones, Mitch Keller, all those guys,
- 6:53Speaker 2: those were those were the three most tenured starters in
- 6:56Speaker 2: this rotation. None of them showed up this year, none
- 6:59Speaker 2: of them. Just you go down the list. I mean,
- 7:02Speaker 2: nickn Zalez, to his credit, became a much better hitter.
- 7:05Speaker 2: He couldn't figure out how to play third base. Jared
- 7:07Speaker 2: Triolo couldn't just can't figure out how to be a
- 7:10Speaker 2: consistent hitter. None of these guys, I mean, Spencer has
- 7:14Speaker 2: been considered. I mean, Spencer hasn't been great since he
- 7:16Speaker 2: came back off the IL. But then again, look at
- 7:19Speaker 2: it from his point of view. Dude just got off
- 7:21Speaker 2: the i L and they're like, hey, by the way,
- 7:23Speaker 2: we need you to carry the offense. Yeah, that's not
- 7:25Speaker 2: how this should work.
- 7:27Speaker 1: And they're going to do the same thing.
- 7:29Speaker 3: With the pizza.
- 7:30Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, especially that was going well too. You know,
- 7:35Speaker 4: for it to go cold, it's hard to expect one
- 7:38Speaker 4: guy to come and say lift us up. Yes, you
- 7:40Speaker 4: can expect a little jolt from somebody because oh we
- 7:42Speaker 4: were missing them. But like if the rest of the
- 7:45Speaker 4: lineup wasn't doing anything to begin with that one little
- 7:48Speaker 4: person or jolt is not going to be enough. And
- 7:51Speaker 4: you know you mentioned when the pitch is not doing
- 7:54Speaker 4: what it was supposed to. All year, defense hasn't been
- 7:57Speaker 4: doing it. And that was one of the fears of
- 8:01Speaker 4: this year is if the offense goes through a cold
- 8:03Speaker 4: spell or a law what is it going to look like?
- 8:07Speaker 5: And this is what we're seeing.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Yep, that's it.
- 8:10Speaker 2: It just the core was not good enough. I mean
- 8:12Speaker 2: it credit to the pirates, I guess are trying to
- 8:16Speaker 2: add on, but it just goes to show when when
- 8:19Speaker 2: you lose those additions, you revert back to what you
- 8:22Speaker 2: had before, and what you had before didn't get better.
- 8:26Speaker 2: It did not get better as a collective whole. I
- 8:28Speaker 2: mean some guys took like, yeah, O'Neal Cruiz got better,
- 8:31Speaker 2: but O'Neal Cruz can't stay healthy.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Uha.
- 8:36Speaker 5: Unfortunate situations.
- 8:37Speaker 4: I was gonna say, the depth, really, the depth we
- 8:39Speaker 4: were worried about, got tested more than they would have liked.
- 8:43Speaker 4: And the in the areas that they did it be tested.
- 8:47Speaker 4: I should say, you know what I mean because you're
- 8:49Speaker 4: talk in the middle of the field, shortstops, center fields
- 8:51Speaker 4: like okay, and then now that that just domino effects
- 8:56Speaker 4: when everything's not going well and as you said, is
- 8:59Speaker 4: trying to play a lot of catchup, but they has
- 9:01Speaker 4: no excuses. You got to show up and see whatever
- 9:05Speaker 4: you can make the most of these this last you know,
- 9:07Speaker 4: six weeks or whatever.
- 9:10Speaker 2: A guy who showed up to panc Park this weekend,
- 9:12Speaker 2: whose named Josh Harrison.
- 9:14Speaker 1: He retired to Pittsburgh Pirate.
- 9:15Speaker 2: It was the only good thing that happened this weekend
- 9:17Speaker 2: aside from a nine to nothing win that now means nothing. Essentially,
- 9:21Speaker 2: we're going to talk about Josh's retirement, him being honored
- 9:24Speaker 2: here on Bucko Territory next.
- 9:25Speaker 1: But first or we're from our sponsors.
- 9:28Speaker 6: I know this is a busy time of year for

- 10:32Speaker 2: So, Josh, I, I just got to know, like, have
- 10:35Speaker 2: have they called you and asked if I can contribute
- 10:38Speaker 2: to the rotation yet? Because you didn't bounce the first
- 10:40Speaker 2: pitch we said we were gonna do you.
- 10:43Speaker 1: That was good. I liked. I feel like you put
- 10:45Speaker 1: it right on the black. On the inner half, I.
- 10:49Speaker 2: Noticed you were you were a little anxious because you
- 10:53Speaker 2: were ready to throw and they're like Josh Harrison everybody,
- 10:55Speaker 2: and you had to like whoa and give another wave
- 10:58Speaker 2: and then you threw.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Yeah, just take us through, take us through the whole experience.
- 11:05Speaker 4: So I'll finish with the first pitch. But like, the
- 11:10Speaker 4: whole weekend was, I mean, words really can't describe.
- 11:13Speaker 5: Man.
- 11:13Speaker 4: You can hear my voice right now, still trying to
- 11:15Speaker 4: recover just the amount of love, just from the minute
- 11:20Speaker 4: that I walked into the hotel, the day that I
- 11:23Speaker 4: got there, to the leak checking out this morning as
- 11:27Speaker 4: we're recording this Sunday, you know, countless pictures, autographs, people
- 11:31Speaker 4: thanking me, thanking my parents, you know, my wife, my kids,
- 11:36Speaker 4: just you know.
- 11:37Speaker 5: Celebrating, you know, my tenure there.
- 11:41Speaker 4: And I think I said before, you know, the weekend,
- 11:45Speaker 4: that I didn't you know, I really hadn't had a
- 11:47Speaker 4: chance to process at all. And I'm still processing it
- 11:50Speaker 4: as I'm sitting here, you know, fresh off of the weekend.
- 11:53Speaker 4: But man, it was nothing short of amazing, you know,
- 11:55Speaker 4: from the first night, you know, just being there in
- 11:59Speaker 4: the second signing on Federal Street and going to the
- 12:02Speaker 4: team store, taking pictures, hearing various people come up and
- 12:05Speaker 4: you know, just share their countless memories of you know,
- 12:08Speaker 4: when they watched me, whether it was you know, in
- 12:11Speaker 4: middle school, high school, or if you know they were
- 12:14Speaker 4: at one of the games or playoff game, just you know,
- 12:17Speaker 4: reliving those memories and you know, being able to reconnect
- 12:21Speaker 4: with a lot of you know, things that I probably
- 12:23Speaker 4: hadn't thought about, you know, since I've been done, because
- 12:25Speaker 4: you know, baseball continues to go on, whether you play
- 12:29Speaker 4: in one city forever or you know, you continue to
- 12:32Speaker 4: play otherwise, you know, elsewhere. But it was definitely a
- 12:36Speaker 4: cool experience, you know, text threads with my family and friends,
- 12:39Speaker 4: you know, everybody you know coming down off of this high,
- 12:42Speaker 4: you know, just from you know, not really knowing what
- 12:46Speaker 4: to expect and leaving their own cloud nine. So it
- 12:48Speaker 4: was definitely amazing. And the Pirates one or you know,
- 12:52Speaker 4: in the midst of all the struggles, you know, at
- 12:55Speaker 4: least you know, that day wasn't spoiled by you know,
- 12:58Speaker 4: a non competitive game.
- 13:00Speaker 5: You know.
- 13:00Speaker 4: That first pitch they're like, you know, all right, take
- 13:05Speaker 4: your time out there. So I'm like, all right, They're like,
- 13:07Speaker 4: take a slow walk. So I'm like slow walking, and
- 13:10Speaker 4: I'm not really listening to what they're saying, you know,
- 13:13Speaker 4: because I'm like I'm walking as slow as I can.
- 13:16Speaker 4: So I get to the mound, the camera's there, and
- 13:18Speaker 4: I'm like, cool, point at the camera. I see them
- 13:21Speaker 4: show my videos. So I'm like, okay, maybe when the
- 13:23Speaker 4: video's done, I'll throw the pitch. So right when it
- 13:26Speaker 4: gets done, I'm like, all right, here goes nothing. And
- 13:29Speaker 4: then they announced my name again and that's when you
- 13:31Speaker 4: see me toss the ball up, like oh, I'm not
- 13:33Speaker 4: gonna throw it yet. But I was like, oh, I'm like,
- 13:39Speaker 4: you know, they didn't. They just told me to walk
- 13:41Speaker 4: out slow, take my time, and you know I heard
- 13:44Speaker 4: them saying alcohlades. But I thought when the video was over, like, okay, yeah,
- 13:51Speaker 4: I've thrown the first pitch at my college. You know,
- 13:53Speaker 4: it wasn't quite as loud as you see. You know,
- 13:55Speaker 4: there was kind of loud, and I felt like, man,
- 13:57Speaker 4: after a while, I've waved enough, and you know, the crowd,
- 14:00Speaker 4: I'm like, all right, here we go. Oh josh, let
- 14:04Speaker 4: me throw it up in here. So it's funny you're
- 14:06Speaker 4: the first person that says something to me about that too, Like,
- 14:09Speaker 4: I know you're not the only person that caught it,
- 14:12Speaker 4: but you're the first person that asked me about it.
- 14:15Speaker 2: You reminded me of like when a kicker gets iced
- 14:19Speaker 2: in the NFL and they like go through and they
- 14:21Speaker 2: just like kick the field goal anywhere.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's just like that was.
- 14:28Speaker 2: But hey man, it looked like you had a great time.
- 14:32Speaker 1: Obviously we were able to run into you just briefly.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Uh, I mean, got a question in the press conference
- 14:38Speaker 2: that was pretty great. You didn't even answer it, Bob
- 14:41Speaker 2: just stole the answer there.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Yeah, there we are.
- 14:44Speaker 4: Well, I feel like you have a two part question,
- 14:46Speaker 4: but you did kind of ask Bob though you did
- 14:49Speaker 4: kind of the question to him.
- 14:51Speaker 1: And honestly, I didn't need any quotes from you.
- 14:54Speaker 2: I mean, I've got I get Josh Harrison quotes three
- 14:57Speaker 2: days a week.
- 14:58Speaker 1: So but it was cool in you one more time.
- 15:00Speaker 1: It was cool to meet your family. Uh.
- 15:04Speaker 2: You know, I will say this, I don't know if
- 15:05Speaker 2: it was cool to see the little j Hey puppet,
- 15:07Speaker 2: but it was certainly something.
- 15:09Speaker 4: So it scared me when I saw it. I'm not
- 15:13Speaker 4: gonna lie. It was funny because I forgot all about
- 15:15Speaker 4: it and they're like, hey, sign this bat and go
- 15:18Speaker 4: take a picture on that backdrop.
- 15:20Speaker 5: And they weren't trying to scare me nothing.
- 15:22Speaker 4: It was just, you know, I'm taking a picture and
- 15:24Speaker 4: behind the photographer, I looked across the way and I
- 15:27Speaker 4: saw little j and I was like, oh, I forgot
- 15:30Speaker 4: about him. But but it was funny because they were like,
- 15:33Speaker 4: we asked if you wanted to take him when you left,
- 15:35Speaker 4: and I was like, nah, he's right where it belongs.
- 15:38Speaker 4: My kids would be a little scared.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Yeah, speaking I saw yeah.
- 15:43Speaker 2: No, I was just gonna say I saw. I saw
- 15:46Speaker 2: that everything. Josh just explained. I saw him like sign
- 15:49Speaker 2: the bat, and I saw his eyes pop up. Because
- 15:51Speaker 2: the media when we came into interview, we all walked
- 15:54Speaker 2: past it and like I totally forgot about that too,
- 15:58Speaker 2: and like we're all.
- 15:59Speaker 1: Like, what the hell is that? And I'm like Jimmy
- 16:03Speaker 1: had to remind me.
- 16:04Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, I do remember this holy cow that's
- 16:07Speaker 2: sitting in a storage closet somewhere.
- 16:10Speaker 5: Shout out to shout out to Wally the cameraman.
- 16:13Speaker 4: He uh, you know, he was the one that that
- 16:15Speaker 4: that made it and uh even saw in the segment.
- 16:18Speaker 4: You know, they had the road when Cervelli used to
- 16:20Speaker 4: do his like relationships, so like that was all Wally,
- 16:23Speaker 4: and you know he did a good job of keeping
- 16:26Speaker 4: with that.
- 16:26Speaker 3: So Josh, I want to know what was it like
- 16:28Speaker 3: for your daughters to see that, because obviously they were
- 16:31Speaker 3: pretty young when you were playing in Pittsburgh. What was
- 16:34Speaker 3: it like for them to see their dad get all
- 16:37Speaker 3: these like accolades and celebrated and that whole crowd pop
- 16:40Speaker 3: when you walked out for the first pitch, PNC got
- 16:42Speaker 3: pretty loud. So what was your family's reaction to all
- 16:45Speaker 3: of yesterday's excitement?
- 16:48Speaker 5: The family was, you know, a static.
- 16:51Speaker 4: My daughters, they were still taking it in because, as
- 16:55Speaker 4: you mentioned, they were young and towards the end of
- 16:57Speaker 4: my career. It wasn't you know that you know, it
- 17:01Speaker 4: wasn't like I was playing Pittsburgh. You know, I was
- 17:02Speaker 4: playing different teams, so it's like, you know, if they
- 17:05Speaker 4: knew me, it was from the fan base know me
- 17:08Speaker 4: playing against them, So you know, they didn't really get
- 17:11Speaker 4: a chance to really.
- 17:13Speaker 5: Embrace, you know, what home felt like.
- 17:17Speaker 4: And that's why it was pretty cool for them to,
- 17:20Speaker 4: you know, kind of experience that. Because after the game yesterday,
- 17:23Speaker 4: even leaving the game, you know, signing autographs and taking
- 17:26Speaker 4: pictures in My youngest daughter, Kensley, who's eight, you know,
- 17:30Speaker 4: dead serious, she goes, Daddy, are you a celebrity or something?
- 17:35Speaker 4: You know, and just because you know, to her, I'm daddy,
- 17:38Speaker 4: you know what I mean. And you know they've been
- 17:40Speaker 4: with me other places and people advanced for autographs, but
- 17:43Speaker 4: to this degree of where everybody wanted pictures and autographs,
- 17:47Speaker 4: you know.
- 17:49Speaker 5: You know. I think for them they were like, dang,
- 17:51Speaker 5: that daddy was cool.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Yeah, that was a bad man.
- 17:58Speaker 4: What do you mean he just coaches volleyball and he's
- 18:01Speaker 4: a dance dad. Like, what are y'all talking about?
- 18:04Speaker 2: No, they'll listen. Whenever they're on social media, they'll see
- 18:08Speaker 2: the rundown video. They'll get it, you know. Yeah, whenever
- 18:13Speaker 2: the Rundown video comes across their algorithm organically, like that's
- 18:18Speaker 2: when it'll be like.
- 18:18Speaker 5: Oh yeah, yeah, I know. So well.
- 18:22Speaker 2: I couldn't have been happier for you, Josh. It was
- 18:25Speaker 2: great to watch from Afar, great to watch it up close.
- 18:27Speaker 2: I know Mark had a great time too. It was
- 18:29Speaker 2: great that we got to see you. And I'm really
- 18:32Speaker 2: glad the Pirates could put that together. It's super deserving
- 18:35Speaker 2: and I think it was something that everyone enjoyed from
- 18:38Speaker 2: people who covered you, from you, yourself, your family, and
- 18:41Speaker 2: the fans. That stuff should happen more often for every team.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Give people the man, people who made a difference.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Yeah, and I heard from so many people like Josh,
- 18:51Speaker 3: so many people came up to me and they're like,
- 18:53Speaker 3: you have to tell Jay Hey how much he meant
- 18:55Speaker 3: to me, Like I would not be like such a
- 18:57Speaker 3: Pirates fan without him. You have to tell us, like,
- 18:59Speaker 3: I have so many stories to share off air with
- 19:01Speaker 3: you from people that came up to me. You meant
- 19:03Speaker 3: a lot to the city of Pittsburgh. And it was
- 19:05Speaker 3: just it was really cool to see that reflected throughout
- 19:07Speaker 3: the whole crowd.
- 19:09Speaker 5: No, I definitely felt it.
- 19:10Speaker 4: And as I said, the love never left because there
- 19:13Speaker 4: were some people that shared those stories with me.
- 19:15Speaker 5: And I mean as I said, I said it.
- 19:18Speaker 4: On the broadcast when I was up there with Neil
- 19:20Speaker 4: and Joe Block, you know, just appreciative Bob, the Pirates,
- 19:25Speaker 4: you know, Jimmy, Jimmy T and Joey b behind.
- 19:28Speaker 5: The scenes helping my family and stuff like it was.
- 19:31Speaker 4: It was a well loaded machine and they they really
- 19:33Speaker 4: went above and beyond and you know, retired to pirate
- 19:37Speaker 4: Pirate for life. Man, I'm excited, and you know, we'll
- 19:41Speaker 4: see where that goes with you know, the energy they
- 19:43Speaker 4: played with Saturday, bring that the last six weeks guys.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah right.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Pirate for Life, Josh Harrison is the best way to
- 19:54Speaker 2: wrap up this segment.
- 19:55Speaker 1: We're gonna take another quick break. When we come back.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Mark will wrap up today's show with is Platinum Key
- 20:00Speaker 2: of the Week here on Bucket.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Territory Science Experiment.
- 20:07Speaker 6: For the one minute, we have to tell you about
- 20:08Speaker 6: why we love Quint's electrolytes, including watermelon salt, raspberry salt.
- 20:12Speaker 6: And I'm holding a citrus salt, just opened it and
- 20:15Speaker 6: pour some powder into my water, shake it up and AJ,
- 20:18Speaker 6: why do you love it?
- 20:19Speaker 7: I love Quints because after a long night out, a
- 20:22Speaker 7: long day at the gym, a long walk in this
- 20:23Speaker 7: Florida humidity, it tastes great and it gives me all
- 20:26Speaker 7: the electrolytes I need. Why sugar free Stevy, a free
- 20:30Speaker 7: Keto approve and taste sweet because of that delicious fermented rice.
- 20:37Speaker 6: It does taste really good. I'm drinking it right now
- 20:40Speaker 6: while we talking about it. It's also made in the USA,

- 21:05Speaker 3: All right, and now my key of the week segment here,
- 21:09Speaker 3: which I'm just going to keep this quick quick. Things
- 21:13Speaker 3: feel bad right now, but it's not over yet. We
- 21:17Speaker 3: might not have baseball next year. And frankly, this is
- 21:19Speaker 3: the best Pirates team they've had in a long time
- 21:22Speaker 3: since Jay Hayes days, probably, and that's not saying a
- 21:28Speaker 3: lot right now it feels like, but this team actually
- 21:30Speaker 3: still has the slimmest of chances. We're not completely dead.
- 21:34Speaker 3: So my key of the week is just you guys,
- 21:37Speaker 3: keep your head up. Things feel bad right now, but
- 21:41Speaker 3: this team can go on and run, getting O'Neil Cruz back,
- 21:44Speaker 3: getting counter Griffin back if they can just keep their
- 21:47Speaker 3: head above water, sweep the Marlins make a big step
- 21:51Speaker 3: up finish the final six weeks of the season strong.
- 21:55Speaker 3: There's there's still a chance. It's slim, but that's my
- 21:58Speaker 3: key of the week. Is you just you have to
- 21:59Speaker 3: still believe that you have a chance to get there.
- 22:03Speaker 3: They're not dead yet. I still haven't heard Nobell. So
- 22:07Speaker 3: keep your head up, keep fighting, and let's go on
- 22:10Speaker 3: a run.
- 22:10Speaker 5: You know.
- 22:11Speaker 3: Yeah, we might have lost a series to the last
- 22:14Speaker 3: place Mets and missed a great opportunity to start that,
- 22:19Speaker 3: but we finally have a day off after seventeen days.
- 22:24Speaker 3: Use Monday to get right down in Miami and show
- 22:29Speaker 3: up against the Marlins. So yeah, that's my my key
- 22:32Speaker 3: of the week. It's hard right now to be a
- 22:37Speaker 3: Pirates fan. I get that, especially after how just anemic
- 22:41Speaker 3: things were on Friday, but or on Sunday and Friday
- 22:45Speaker 3: as well. Yeah, but they're not dead and you guys
- 22:52Speaker 3: shot in the arm with O'Neil Cruz coming back probably
- 22:54Speaker 3: for I'm guessing the Boston series and I don't know,
- 22:59Speaker 3: maybe you can just find that hot streak, find the
- 23:02Speaker 3: offensive production that has just gone missing, and hope that
- 23:08Speaker 3: hitting is contagious and they can make up for where
- 23:11Speaker 3: the starting pitching is at, because I don't know if
- 23:14Speaker 3: that's gonna improve much. So yeah, that's my key of
- 23:17Speaker 3: the week. You know what, and you thought, I mean.
- 23:22Speaker 4: I was just gonna say, yeah, I was gonna say
- 23:24Speaker 4: to go off of what you said. Well, we've already covered,
- 23:27Speaker 4: han't been there being in a situation you know what,
- 23:30Speaker 4: lizahead are you? You're talking about sweeping the Marlins. Before
- 23:33Speaker 4: you can sweep the Marlins, you gotta take care of
- 23:34Speaker 4: game one of the series right at this point, you know,
- 23:37Speaker 4: take care of game one of the series. But more
- 23:39Speaker 4: than anything, you gotta win every series from now on
- 23:42Speaker 4: out if you don't sweep, you know what I mean?
- 23:44Speaker 4: So the make the go to win a series every time,
- 23:48Speaker 4: which you should always be doing that, but lately it's
- 23:50Speaker 4: just been a just.
- 23:51Speaker 5: Win a game.
- 23:52Speaker 4: Yeah, you know what, you want a game Saturday? You want,
- 23:54Speaker 4: you want a game Saturday. Go out there, win a series.
- 23:57Speaker 4: But sweeps can happen. But to a sweep, you gotta
- 24:00Speaker 4: win a series. And that starts with game one. Reset
- 24:03Speaker 4: as you said, Reset after seventeen days and go win
- 24:08Speaker 4: game one of the series and put yourself in a
- 24:09Speaker 4: good position to make it interesting.
- 24:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:12Speaker 3: Yeah, the goal for this team was to make the
- 24:13Speaker 3: postseason period full stop. If you want to accomplish that goal,
- 24:18Speaker 3: it's now or never and it's We've been saying that
- 24:22Speaker 3: for a few weeks and it's like the most critical
- 24:25Speaker 3: series of the year and they keep losing it.
- 24:28Speaker 5: Every series from now is going to be the most critical.
- 24:31Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I mean, you've got the Marlins, the Red Sox.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Marlins are ahead of them in the wildcard race.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Red Sox are a playoff team, maybe one of the
- 24:39Speaker 2: best teams, maybe the best team in the American League.
- 24:42Speaker 4: Right right now, it really well yeah yeah.
- 24:47Speaker 2: You get a little break against the Tigers, then you
- 24:48Speaker 2: have the Dodgers and the Padres and the Cardinals, so you're.
- 24:53Speaker 3: All on the road.
- 24:55Speaker 5: Yeah so, but what better way to do it than.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Right, Yes, and we want to earn something. It's called
- 25:03Speaker 2: a subscription from you. It's free. Hit that button. Help

- 25:53Speaker 4: my post playing career. You know, they asked me what
- 25:55Speaker 4: I was doing. You know, family is always a part
- 25:58Speaker 4: of that. But at the same time, but coll territory,
- 26:00Speaker 4: you know, we rocking. Yes, And just as I said
