- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up, everyone, and welcome to another episode of the
- 0:03Epstein Chronicles. I don't think I'm telling you folks anything
- 0:07new when I tell you that the modeling world is
- 0:10filled with a bunch of ced disgusting people. And it's
- 0:15not just men. You have people like Faith Kates who
- 0:19knew exactly what Epstein was and simply didn't care. I mean,
- 0:25after the allegations from Virginia first came out, Faith Kates
- 0:29was still advising Jeffrey Epstein on what he should do,
- 0:33how he should move, who he should talk to, what
- 0:36sort of events he should go to, and the kind
- 0:40of donations that he should be making to insulate himself
- 0:43from the allegations that are being made. And this comes
- 0:47on top of what we already knew from two thousand
- 0:50and nine. So keep that in mind when Faith Kate
- 0:53says she has no idea what Jeffrey Epstein was, because
- 0:57in my opinion, not only did she know what Jeffrey
- 0:59Epstein wan was, she helped enable them. Today we have
- 1:04an article from the Guardian and the headline Faith Kates
- 1:08the woman who introduced models to dear friend Jeffrey Epstein.
- 1:12This article was authored by Lucy Osborne, a female executive
- 1:18at the top of the modeling industry, had a close
- 1:21friendship with Jeffrey Epstein and introduced him to women on
- 1:24the agency's books. A Guardian investigation has found so not
- 1:29only was she introducing him to women, she was introducing
- 1:32him to women that were working for her, women that
- 1:36were part of her agency, and women that she obviously
- 1:39had a responsibility to. But that didn't matter to Faith Kates.
- 1:43Did it as long as her buddy, good old Jeffy
- 1:47is having a great time and he's meeting new women
- 1:49who cares about all these other girls who were abused,
- 1:52who are their lives ruined to somebody like Faith Kates,
- 1:56That doesn't matter. Until last November, Faith Kates ran Next
- 2:02Management Modeling in Talent Agency, which is represented the likes
- 2:06of Alexa Chung, Mila Djoviovic, and Billie Eilish, a position
- 2:12that she held for decades as founder of the business.
- 2:15She stepped down quietly just weeks before the first major
- 2:19Epstein files were released, saying she intended to focus on
- 2:23charity work. Oh that's always the excuse. Did you see
- 2:27the charity work that I did for so and so,
- 2:30I help so and so over here, and that means
- 2:32that I'm a good person, right, No, it doesn't mean
- 2:35you're a good person. All it means is that you
- 2:37know that that strategy has worked throughout the history, and
- 2:40you're going to try and employ it as well. But
- 2:42I think that people are a hip to that sort
- 2:44of nonsense these days, and they know that these kind
- 2:46of rich people are always trying to drape themselves in
- 2:50armor made out of charitable giving. Links between Kates and
- 2:57the late sex offender have previously been reported, but analysis
- 3:01of documents published by the US Department of Justice reveals
- 3:04a much deeper relationship than previously known, with emails showing
- 3:09Kate's secretly took business advice from Epstein and discussed multimillion
- 3:13dollar loans. And if you notice, that's an ongoing theme
- 3:17when it comes to all these people in Jeffrey Epstein,
- 3:20they all wanted something from them, and they were willing
- 3:22to look the other way in order to achieve their goals.
- 3:25And that's why I find it so laughable when they
- 3:28come out after the fact and act like they had
- 3:30no idea who Epstein was, what he was doing, or
- 3:34the fact that he was an absolute sick degenerate. They
- 3:37all knew, they just didn't care. Kates appears to have
- 3:42met Epstein regularly, including on one occasion with the then
- 3:46Prince Andrew at a New York department store in December
- 3:49of twenty ten, the week of Andrew mount Batten Winsors
- 3:53now infamous visit to the city to supposedly call off
- 3:56his friendship with a financier. Oh yeah, yeah, we know,
- 4:00that's exactly why he went to New York. What you
- 4:04wouldn't fly across the Atlantic to go and tell some
- 4:06child molester you couldn't be his friend anymore. Come on,
- 4:11don't you have any honor? Don't you have any kind
- 4:14of compassion for a guy like Jeffrey Epstein. Well that's
- 4:19what Prince Andrew wants us to believe. That he flew
- 4:22all the way across the Atlantic because he no longer
- 4:25wanted to be friends with Jeffrey Epstein, but he just
- 4:28decided to stick around for a few days and sleep
- 4:31on old boys couch. Kate's sixty eight offered her support
- 4:36and unconditional friendship. After Epstein was first convicted for soliciting
- 4:40a child for prostitution in two thousand and nine, she
- 4:45was still sending friendly emails weeks before he was arrested
- 4:48again in twenty nineteen. More troubling is that, across their
- 4:54nearly forty year relationship, it seems Kate's connected a number
- 4:57of her models with Epstein, raised serious questions for the
- 5:01woman who has been responsible for the careers and ultimately
- 5:05the welfare of thousands of young women. There's no evidence
- 5:08to suggest that Kate's was aware of Epstein's offending prior
- 5:12to his two thousand and nine conviction. Okay, no evidence,
- 5:16no smoking gun, But I don't think it's that big
- 5:19of a leap to think that all these people that
- 5:21were around him knew what he was doing. And you're
- 5:24gonna have a real hard time convincing me otherwise. The
- 5:29revelations prompted Next, which until now is not commented on
- 5:33its founder's relationship with the sex offender, to thoroughly distance
- 5:37itself from her. In a statement to the Guardian, a
- 5:40spokesperson said the company was working to end all legal
- 5:43ties with Kates, and that her relationship with Epstein was
- 5:47completely and absolutely unknown to Next management and its top executives.
- 5:53We had no idea. We all have Epstein amnesia. Jeffrey Epstein.
- 5:58Who's that never heard of the guy? It's always the
- 6:02same nonsense, always the same line, always the same playbook,
- 6:05and it's always met with the same response, Oh well,
- 6:08they didn't know. Come on, how's anyone supposed to know. Meanwhile,
- 6:13everybody knew, including people working at airports, people that lived
- 6:17around Jeffrey Epstein, and certainly people that were at parties
- 6:21with them. A spokesperson for Kate's said that she never
- 6:26put a model in harm's way by sending them to
- 6:28an inappropriate go sees or meetings, adding Epstein was a
- 6:33master manipulator. People around him knew only what he wanted
- 6:37them to know. Oh, that's the new narrative. Have you
- 6:40noticed that everybody is calling him a master and manipulator
- 6:43all of a sudden. Let me translate that for you.
- 6:46Master manipulator means somebody I wanted money from and somebody
- 6:51I got money from. And now that he's dead and
- 6:55that people are asking questions about our relationship, I'll just
- 6:59say that I got manipula. He's not alive to argue
- 7:02the point. He's not alive to say that that's not true.
- 7:06So that's going to be the narrative, and you see
- 7:11that becoming a big talking point for a lot of
- 7:14these people. Oh, he manipulated me, he was the world's
- 7:17greatest manipulator. Or was it that you were just greedy?
- 7:23There are more than five thousand mentions of Kate's in
- 7:26the files, although some are duplicates. The emails between the
- 7:29two are frequent. The messages are often effusive in tone,
- 7:33with Kate's regularly telling Epstein how good of a friend
- 7:37he was, at one point telling him I really do
- 7:39love you like a brother. One of the first emails
- 7:43in the file was sent while Epstein was in prison
- 7:46for a soliciting prostitution from a minor. Kate's wrote, I
- 7:50am and will always be your friend, unconditionally, will always
- 7:54be there for you. Yo. Can you imagine somebody that
- 7:58gets arrested for what Epstein was rested for, somebody that's
- 8:01accused of what Epstein's accused of, and that's the message
- 8:05you send them. Epstein's interest in the modeling industry is
- 8:08demonstrated in the discussions between the two. In his diary
- 8:13shows him schedule to meet Kate several times at the
- 8:16company's New York office during the twenty Tens. Kates began
- 8:20connecting Epstein the Next models years earlier. According to interviews,
- 8:24by the nineties, the industry had developed a practice of
- 8:28introducing models to businessmen unconnected to the fashion world. Oh,
- 8:32I wonder why. I'm sure it was for conversation, right,
- 8:35I'm sure it had nothing to do with a bunch
- 8:37of disgusting, degenerate old men trying to get their grubby
- 8:40paws on young women. I'm sure that had zero to
- 8:43do with it. Huh. It was at one such dinner
- 8:47organized by Kate's in ninety two that Stacy Williams remembered
- 8:51being introduced to Epstein. Williams, then one of NeXT's top models,
- 8:56said that about three months later, she was taken by
- 8:59Kates to a party hosted by Donald Trump at the
- 9:01Plaza Hotel, where she met Epstein again. Williams went on
- 9:06to have a relationship with Epstein. She said it was consensual,
- 9:10but that some of the events that took place within
- 9:12the confines of the relationship were not, including when she
- 9:16alleged she was groped by Trump and what she believed
- 9:19was part of a twisted game between the two men.
- 9:22The president has denied the allegations. I mean, at some
- 9:25point we have to say to ourselves, is everybody just
- 9:28lying or is it true that Donald Trump is just
- 9:32a degenerate? And considering the body of evidence that we have,
- 9:35I'm gonna go with Donald Trump's to degenerate. More than
- 9:39a decade later, Kate's allegedly arranged for another of her
- 9:42top models, Barbara Stoyanov, to meet Epstein. Stoy enough was
- 9:47already working for Victoria's Secret as a lingerie model, but
- 9:51her dream was to become a Victoria's Secret Angel, one
- 9:54of the official faces of the company. Stoyanov told The
- 9:58Guardian that Kate suggest at Epstein could help, and that
- 10:02she later met him a next office in New York.
- 10:05He told me to stand up and woke my dress
- 10:08up to see my legs. Then he asked me to
- 10:10lift my dress from behind to see how my butt was.
- 10:14She said, it's like buying a horse. I have zero
- 10:18idea why anybody will let their child get involved in modeling.
- 10:22It is unbelievably disgusting. The whole industry is just gross.
- 10:29At the time, she said she thought nothing of the request.
- 10:33It was normal for a lingerie brand, because it was
- 10:35normal for a lingerie brand to want to see a
- 10:38model's body. Years later, when she saw Epstein news coverage,
- 10:42she felt disgusted. A spokesperson for Kate's said the meeting
- 10:46never happened and added her supposed interview with Epstein in
- 10:50the middle of Next class enclosed offices is not credible.
- 10:53On its face. She's not credible, but Kates is sorry.
- 10:58I don't believe that. Listen, anybody who was paling around
- 11:03with Epstein for all those years, anybody that was sending
- 11:07emails to Epstein like that, I don't believe them. And
- 11:10I believe that they know a lot more than they're
- 11:12letting on. And they're lucky that I'm not the prosecutor,
- 11:16because I charge everybody with rico and then I'd let
- 11:18the chips fall where they may, you know, like they
- 11:21do to the rest of us. God forbid you get
- 11:23involved in some kind of quote unquote illegal gambling. Oh,
- 11:26they're gonna come kick in your door. But if you're
- 11:28faith Kate's setting young girls up with Epstein, no big deal.
- 11:32Come on, there's no evidence for that. Over the next
- 11:36years that followed, Stoyanoff, who was signed to Next for
- 11:39about fifteen years, said she saw Epstein with Kates numerous
- 11:43times at their offices. In around May of two thousand
- 11:47and four, Kate's allegedly sent former Next model seeing a Chech,
- 11:51then twenty, to Epstein's New York home to ask if
- 11:54he would help her travel to fashion shoots in his
- 11:56private jet. Chech remembers she wrote his address on a
- 12:01yellow post it note, how could you send people, young
- 12:05girls to Jeffrey Epstein? It is just unconscionable. After Chech arrived,
- 12:11she said that he asked to look at her hands.
- 12:13She recalled that he then said, ugh, your nails are
- 12:17so dirty. You're not the kind of girl we take
- 12:19on the jet. She said. She left in tears, and
- 12:22it wasn't until years later that she realized the man
- 12:25who insulted her was Epstein. It was like a brick
- 12:28in my stomach realizing I dodged a bullet, she said.
- 12:32Sarah az If, a former Next Model who now runs
- 12:35Model Alliance, which campaigns against systemic sexual abuse in the
- 12:39fashion industry, wasn't sent to Abstein by Kate's, However, she
- 12:44said she believed Kates or someone else at the agency
- 12:48gave him her home address. In two thousand or two
- 12:50thousand and one, when she was eighteen or nineteen. She
- 12:54had previously been introduced to Abstein by a fellow model
- 12:57and recalled him taking an interest in her school. Later,
- 13:01she received a letter from him that said, Sarah, there
- 13:04are great writing courses at the new school my treat
- 13:08Zif said she believed Epstein was offering to pay for
- 13:11her education at this New York school. She didn't take
- 13:14them up on the offer, later earning degrees from Harvard
- 13:17and Columbia. I know that the model who invited me
- 13:22to meet Epstein did not have my address, Ziff told
- 13:25The Guardian. I do know that Next had that address
- 13:29on file. None of the models the Guardian interviewed alleged
- 13:32that they were abused by Epstein. Too high profile, he
- 13:36knew better. What he was looking to do is bring
- 13:40girls in to the inner circle, new recruiters, new people
- 13:44to be part of his sexual Ponzi scheme. That's what
- 13:46he was looking for because at this point, remember Epstein
- 13:51was already bringing girls in from Europe. We're talking about
- 13:55vulnerable girls here, Brazil, Europe, etc. So that was his
- 14:00mo at that time. An NEXT spokesperson said, at all
- 14:04times conducted its operations with integrity and with the highest
- 14:07regard for the safety of all of our models. Emails
- 14:11in the DOJ files suggests that Kate's continued to connect
- 14:14models to Epstein during the twenty tens, even after his
- 14:18first prison sentence, and that you would meet women at
- 14:21Epstein's request or connect them to other agents. In twenty eleven,
- 14:25Epstein email Kates a numbered list of three women's names.
- 14:29A few hours later, Kate responded, I can get two.
- 14:33That's what you asked for asked me for. Standby. I
- 14:37can get two. That's what you asked me for. Standby
- 14:39two for what faith? Kates. That same year, Epstein appears
- 14:44to ask his assistant to get names of girls from
- 14:47Kate's for a gala event dinner, and he email Kates
- 14:52asking if she had any aspiring actresses for dinner with
- 14:55the Hollywood director Woody Allen another fantastic guy. Huh, let
- 15:01me just have relations with my stepdaughter. In twenty seventeen,
- 15:08they discussed a former Next model who is now an
- 15:11established internet personality. Kate's described her as stunning and sent
- 15:16them her bust, height, and weight measurements, along with what
- 15:19appears to be a number of photographs of her, which
- 15:22are redacted in the files. That same year, they discussed
- 15:26another model who did not realize her name was in
- 15:29the files until she was contacted by the Guardian. The model,
- 15:33who was still represented by Next and did not want
- 15:36to be named, said, I felt shocked and grossed out, Like,
- 15:40why's the biggest predator of our time typing out my name?
- 15:43What was this for? Imagine being just some random model
- 15:46and somebody hits you up and they're like, hey, your
- 15:48name is in those Epstein files. You know that, right?
- 15:50I can imagine the panic. What do you mean my
- 15:52names in those files? I had nothing to do with Epstein?
- 15:55And then you find out that he was like creeping
- 15:57on you talk about gross. Even as women started to
- 16:03go public with disturbing allegations against Epstein, Kates continued to
- 16:07offer her support. She appeared to tell them that women
- 16:10coming forward with allegations about him were doing so only
- 16:14to sell their stories to the press. Money motivates people,
- 16:17she wrote. Later, in response to another abuse allegation against Epstein,
- 16:22she told them she should be so lucky. People are nuts.
- 16:27She should be so lucky, so lucky to be abused
- 16:30so lucky to have Epstein molest them when their children
- 16:35or young adults boys, some people have all the law. Huh,
- 16:39Faith Kates after extensive coverage of Virginia Roberts allegations in
- 16:45twenty eleven, she advised them to lay very low and
- 16:48donate the projects that would do good for others. This
- 16:52will make people talk about you in a positive way,
- 16:55she wrote, see what I mean about the armor. Oh,
- 16:58let's just go and donate some money and that makes
- 17:00everything better. That same year, Epstein appears to have donated
- 17:06fifty thousand dollars to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, of
- 17:10which Kate's was president, and gave Kate's a product handbag
- 17:13for her birthday. She emailed them, thanking them for the
- 17:17bag and for being my friend, signed with her signature
- 17:20line of Kisses. The following year, he gave her a
- 17:23twelve thousand dollars stove for Christmas. So does anyone really
- 17:28think that Faith Kate's cared about these women over her
- 17:32buddy Jeffrey Epstein, because I'm not seeing that. It was
- 17:38around the same time that epstein offer of significant investments
- 17:41appear to have begun. In July of twenty ten, he
- 17:45emailed her about buying a five million dollar property together
- 17:49for her and her family. Kate spokesperson insisted that no
- 17:53investments from Epstein ever materialized, and The Guardian has seen
- 17:57no evidence to suggest she received any loan. In emails
- 18:01from September twenty ten and across the following months, Kate
- 18:05seemed desperate for the purchase to go ahead. Are you
- 18:09avoiding me? This is what I didn't want to happen.
- 18:12I need to talk to you today as I don't
- 18:14want to lose this apartment. It's perfect for me and
- 18:16my family and my kids are excited. Epstein replied in Paris.
- 18:22Do not tell the broker how high you're willing to go.
- 18:24It will cost an extra half million if we are
- 18:26not careful. Kate wrote, I can't lose this, not for
- 18:31me and my kids. Three months later, she wrote, Jeffrey,
- 18:34please be upfront with me. I understand that if you
- 18:37can't do this financially at this moment, but please just
- 18:40return my calls. I won't ever let something like this
- 18:43come between thirty years of friendship. So it looks like
- 18:47Epstein was dicking her around, right, Yeah, sure, I got you.
- 18:51I'll buy this apartment for you, then he goes her.
- 18:55Beginning in twenty fifteen, Kate's appears to have accepted guidance
- 18:58from Epstein about the mom agency, and over the next
- 19:02three years he and sometimes his accountant, Richard Kahn, seemed
- 19:05to have acted as advisors. Email suggests that Epstein directed
- 19:09Kates on how to buy out next then co owners,
- 19:13the private equity firm Golden Gate Capital. He offered her
- 19:16six million dollar loan to do so, which he told
- 19:19her must be kept secret. Epstein wrote, I will lend
- 19:23you only the six million offered to buy Golden Gate
- 19:26out for five to start. My name cannot be involved,
- 19:29of course. Two years later, Epstein continued to act as
- 19:33an advisor, decats behind the scenes on how to make
- 19:36the deal happen. He appeared to send her a script
- 19:39of what to say to Neil Attenborough, the managing director
- 19:42of Golden Gate. In another email, Epstein says, let's get
- 19:46rid of Neil. A spokesperson for Golden Gate said Jeffrey
- 19:50Epstein's identity and advisory role were proactively concealed from the
- 19:54Golden Gate Capital team throughout the Cell process. Well that
- 19:58all tracks that was Epstein's m come in as a
- 20:02shadow donor, not let anybody know that he was involved,
- 20:05and keep it moving. A spokesperson for Kate's said none
- 20:10of the loans suggested by Epstein materialized, and Epstein never
- 20:14had a financial interest in Next. In the months after
- 20:18Epstein killed himself in prison allegedly and in jail in
- 20:23August of twenty nineteen, Next bought out gold Gate as planned.
- 20:27A spokesperson for Next said the final deal happened without
- 20:31CON's involvement. Miss Kate's long standing and highly personal relationship
- 20:36with Epstein were unknown to Next management until recent disclosures
- 20:40of the Epstein documents. The spokesperson said her actions were
- 20:45neither authorized by nor known to Next, and were at
- 20:48all times her own. The spokesperson added, to the extent
- 20:53Miss Kate's independent actions impacted or involved Next clients and employees,
- 20:58we are deeply sorry. Well that fixes everything. They're sorry, folks.
- 21:03I guess all these girls can just you know, pick
- 21:05up the pieces and move on and be fortified by
- 21:08the fact that these people are sorry. Meanwhile, back here
- 21:11in reality, nobody cares about your apologies, and nobody cares
- 21:15about your revisionist history. You all knew what the deal
- 21:18was you know what Epstein was doing and you knew
- 21:20the scope of it. So look all these modeling agencies
- 21:23that were involved with Jeffrey Epstein, all these modeling agencies
- 21:26in general, in my opinion, they should all be looked
- 21:29at because the sad truth is Jeffrey Epstein wasn't the
- 21:32first diddler and he won't be the last. All the
- 21:37information that goes with this episode can be found in
- 21:40the description box. What's up everyone, and welcome back to
- 21:43the Epstein Chronicles. Hope everybody's having a great Friday morning
- 21:48so far, and hopefully all of you are going to
- 21:52have this weekend off. For those of you who celebrate Easter,
- 21:56hope you guys get to celebrate it with your families, friends,
- 21:59loved ones, whatever. And for those of you who don't, well,
- 22:02I just hope you have a fantastic weekend. As for
- 22:05our topic for today, we're going to talk about Jean
- 22:09Luke Brunell and how some of the biggest retailers in
- 22:14the industry were spooked by this guy's relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.
- 22:19With the allegations against Jean Luke Brunell, but yet somehow
- 22:23the company MC two, their modeling agency. They still had inroads,
- 22:28they were still getting work, they were still sending girls
- 22:31to these different gigantic retailers. And as you'll see in
- 22:35this article, Jean Luke Brunell's partner was very, very concerned,
- 22:42so concerned in fact, that he stayed in business with
- 22:45Jean Luke Brunell. All Right, So this article is from
- 22:49Fortune dot com and the headline is major retailers had
- 22:53tremendous concerns about fashion model scouts ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Well,
- 22:59not a concerns enough to stop doing business with them, huh.
- 23:02Not concerns enough to sen Jean Luke Brunell and MC
- 23:06to pack in. Huh. You see, it's only when this
- 23:10stuff is brought to light that these people have concerns, right,
- 23:15It's never when they're actually getting into bed with these scumbags,
- 23:18when everybody knows who they are. Look, you really mean
- 23:22to tell me there weren't rumors around Epstein and Jean
- 23:26Luke Brunell when these people originally got into business with them.
- 23:31The only time it's a problem is when it's exposed.
- 23:35This article was authored by Kim Bassen, Jordan Hallman, and
- 23:40Bloomberg and It was originally published August nineteenth of two
- 23:45thousand and nineteen. Several of the biggest retailers in the US,
- 23:51including Nordstrom's, Macy's, Sacksvith Avenue, and Nieman Marcus, were named
- 23:56as previous clients by the president of a modeling agency
- 24:00with deep ties to Jeffrey Epstein, as allegations of sex
- 24:03trafficking swirled around. The financier and the firm, You mean
- 24:07the pedophile, And it's funny that they say, oh, he
- 24:10has deep ties to Epstein. Well, the owner of the company,
- 24:13Jean Luke Brunell, started the company with seed money from
- 24:16Jeffrey Epstein. But let's not act like Jean Luke Brunell
- 24:19is some good guy that you want to be associated with. Either.
- 24:23Even if he wasn't rolling around with Epstein, this guy
- 24:25would have still been molesting people in raping people. Additionally,
- 24:31store officials five years ago were worried about Epstein's association
- 24:35with the agency, According to an internal agency letter, The
- 24:39agency MC two Model Management is owned by industry veteran
- 24:44Jean Luke Brunell. His relationship to Epstein, who committed suicide
- 24:49last week, allegedly is documented at least as far back
- 24:53as two thousand and two, when flight Logs placed Brunell
- 24:57on Epstein's private plane for a flight from Floor to
- 25:00the Bahamas. Look, we all know now how deep that
- 25:05relationship was, how close Epstein and Jean lu Brunell were,
- 25:11and that Jean lu Brunell served a key role within
- 25:15Epstein's criminal enterprise. This guy was getting girls, securing girls
- 25:20from all over the world, mainly war torn nations, places
- 25:24like Eastern Europe, on the Balkans, you name it, any
- 25:28place where there's strife, strife and suffering, you could be
- 25:32sure that Jean Luke Brunell and scoundrels like him are
- 25:35there looking to exploit that. So Jean lup Brunell has
- 25:38been doing that forever for Jeffrey Epstein. And let's not
- 25:41forget all of the rumors and what we have heard
- 25:44about Nadia Marchinkova. Epstein bought her from her parents, the
- 25:50whole sordid tale, and all of that was facilitated by
- 25:55Jean Luke Brunel. Jelllog show. Brunell visited Epstein while he
- 26:03was serving a thirteen month sentence for procuring an underage
- 26:06girl for prostitution, Brunell also housed models in Epstein's Manhattan apartments,
- 26:12according to a sworn deposition by a former company bookkeeper. Look,
- 26:16we all know that it was the apartment building on
- 26:19sixty six. They would bring these girls in and they
- 26:22would give them these stories about how they're gonna be
- 26:25these huge models in America, how they're gonna work for
- 26:27all of these companies. But instead they'd be forced to
- 26:32go out as escorts for Epstein's buddies, for Jean Luke
- 26:36Brunell's buddies. Pretty amazing that nobody else has been wrapped
- 26:42up in this. Huh. I guess there were no Johns.
- 26:44I guess nobody was buying the services. And this is
- 26:46all a figment of everybody's imagination. By twenty fourteen, Brunell's
- 26:54business partner Jeff Fuller was concerned that the relationship with
- 26:57Epstein could be damaging. Oh fourteen, huh this Fuller, Gentleman
- 27:03Jeff Fuller real quick to catch on. In a letter
- 27:06reviewed by Bloomberg News, Fuller told Brunell that he was
- 27:09getting a tremendous amount of worries from our clients about
- 27:13the ties to Epstein. Then went on to list as
- 27:16clients nord Trom Incorporated, Macy's Incorporated, Sacks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, J. C.
- 27:22Penny Company, Cohle's Corporation, Target Corporation, Sears, and Belk. So
- 27:29all of those companies that were getting girls from MC two,
- 27:33more than likely at some point we're using trafficked girls.
- 27:38That's just the reality of the situation. If Brunell is involved,
- 27:42you can almost guarantee that there's traffic girls involved as well.
- 27:47That same year, Nordstrom executives wrote a letter offering her
- 27:50full support and unqualified support for Brunel's full and full
- 27:56and unqualified support of Brunell's application for an visa the
- 28:01work permit the US government awards to extraordinary individuals. Well,
- 28:05we all know how extraordinary Jean Luke Brunel is. Funny
- 28:10that he was able to facilitate this as well and
- 28:13get this kind of waiver. I'm sure it has nothing
- 28:17to do with, you know, a little back room greasing
- 28:20of the palms or anything like that. While the retailers
- 28:24are said to have been clients of MC two aren't
- 28:27accused of wrongdoing, they join a long and growing list
- 28:30of powerful people and institutions in Epstein's orbit. Look, is
- 28:35there anywhere that this dude and his corrosive disgustingness didn't
- 28:42seep into? Is there any part of the establishment, Because
- 28:47every time you turn around, there's a new part of
- 28:49the establishment that Epstein has his fingerprints all over. Nordstrom
- 28:56declined to comment for this story. It last worked with
- 28:59MC two in January of twenty seventeen, according to a
- 29:03person familiar with the company's model booking. J C. Penny
- 29:07and Target declined to comment for this story. Nieman, Marcus, Cole,
- 29:11Sears and Belk they didn't respond to requests, of course
- 29:14not why would they. Look, the last thing you want
- 29:17is your name associated with Jeffrey Epstein. But you know
- 29:19a good way to avoid that, Well, don't be associated
- 29:23with Jeffrey Epstein. Sachs doesn't currently work with MC two,
- 29:28according to a person familiar with the company's booking. Macy's
- 29:32also said MC two is not on its active roster,
- 29:35though it had been used on a handful of very
- 29:38small projects. Company spokeswoman Blair Rosenberg set in an email
- 29:43the person who engaged them was not aware of the concerns. Oh,
- 29:46I'm sure nobody. Look, nobody knew these guys were pillars
- 29:50of the community, you know, real salt and earth types.
- 29:55There was never any suspicion that Epstein or Brunel were
- 29:59per Give me a break. There was so many tells,
- 30:04so many signs, and people who missed those signs I
- 30:11believe missed them willingly because they knew they were going
- 30:14to benefit financially. Nordstroom shares rose two point two percent
- 30:22to twenty five twenty five dollars and eighty seven cents
- 30:25on Monday at nine thirty eight am in New York.
- 30:29J C. Penny was little changed. Blah blah blah. Still
- 30:32we're gonna skip that part. Don't need any of that.
- 30:33Those were old numbers of what the stock was doing
- 30:36in twenty and nineteen. Earlier accusations against Brunel. In December
- 30:41twenty fourteen, Brunell was accused of trafficking underage girls to
- 30:45farm them out to friends, including Epstein, according to court
- 30:49documents filed by one of Epstein's accusers. Brunell denied all
- 30:53trafficking claims in twenty fifteen and hasn't released a public
- 30:58statement since. Oh yeah, well, well we all know that
- 31:00he is a very honorable guy and That's why, you know,
- 31:04very honorable men like him, they end up killing themselves
- 31:07in prison when they're under all kinds of charges of
- 31:10human trafficking and rape and assault and all kinds of things.
- 31:15He had no idea what was going on. He wasn't involved.
- 31:19This dude was a key component, one of the sickest
- 31:22of the group. In fact, Brunell and MC two came
- 31:27back into the spotlight last month after allegations against Epstein
- 31:31resurfaced and cast a shadow on longtime associate Les Wexner,
- 31:37the CEO of L Brands, which owns Victoria's Secret. Wexner
- 31:42says his relationship with Epstein ended nearly twelve years ago,
- 31:45but the modeling agency and its owner had business relationships
- 31:49that extended far beyond L Brands. Yeah, you think, advocating
- 31:55for models. It's not clear how extensively or for how
- 31:59long the retail worked with MC two, but the connections
- 32:03draw fresh scrutiny to the relationship retailers have with the
- 32:07modeling industry, which is largely unregulated. Retailers often work with
- 32:13several modeling agencies, using a casting director to determine who
- 32:17to book for fashion shows, catalog shoots, and other projects. Meanwhile,
- 32:22a lot of these girls are being abused and trafficked. Look,
- 32:25I have zero faith in the modeling industry. Just about
- 32:30everything I've learned about the modeling industry has sickened me.
- 32:34And I've said it once and I'll say it a
- 32:36million more times. If I had a daughter or a
- 32:38son who wanted to be in that industry, I would
- 32:42not leave them alone for one minute while they were
- 32:45underage with one of these people. Never once. Maybe I'm
- 32:49being too cautious or going overboard or whatever, but I've
- 32:54seen enough, folks, I've pulled that curtain way back, and
- 32:58the eyeful that I have received in the past three
- 33:00years enough to turn anyone's stomach. Sarah Ziff, executive director
- 33:07of modeling advocacy group The Model Alliance, says retailers have
- 33:12the same obligation to models that apparel makers have to
- 33:15garment workers. Retailers have an interest and responsibility to make
- 33:20sure that abuses aren't happening on their watch. He said,
- 33:23it's a workforce that's uniquely vulnerable, and there's a lack
- 33:27of accountability, and you wonder why all of these dudes
- 33:29get involved in the world of modeling or pageants or
- 33:33you know, talent shows or whatever, and inevitably all of
- 33:38these dudes that get involved are like these old, gross
- 33:41ass creepy dudes. The fuck does John Luke Brunel know
- 33:44about beautiful women and modeling? You see? You see this guy.
- 33:48He looks like he's ripped right from the pages of
- 33:51some bad British comic as one of the villains. Don't
- 33:55know women trying to hang out with this dude. If
- 33:57it wasn't for his modeling business, the dude would never
- 34:01have a woman. In fact, some stores have policies in
- 34:08place to protect employees, including contractors like models, from abuse,
- 34:13a fact which concerned mc to President Fuller. According to
- 34:17his email, of course it did look and this Fuller
- 34:21guy to act like he had no idea. You mean
- 34:23to tell me you're in business with Jean Luke Brunel
- 34:26and you have no idea who he is or what
- 34:28he's up to, or where the seed money came for
- 34:30your company? Okay, buddy, sure, we believe you. It really
- 34:36worries me as some of those companies have associated themselves
- 34:41from what they believed to be questionable companies. Fuller wrote
- 34:45in a two thousand and four email to Brunell. So far,
- 34:48that has not been a problem, but it could come
- 34:51up in the future. It hasn't been a problem yet,
- 34:53and it's because the doors weren't blown open yet. But
- 34:56these companies knew. They're not stupid. They all had a
- 35:00access to the internet. They all knew when Epstein got arrested.
- 35:02They all heard the rumors. They didn't care Brunell's ascendancy
- 35:08as a model scout. Brunell cannot be reached for comment
- 35:11through multiple calls to MC two. Well breaking news. You're
- 35:15not going to be able to reach him any time
- 35:17soon either, unless you got a direct line to Hell.
- 35:20He began his career in Paris in the mid seventies.
- 35:23In the eighties, he worked with Eileen Ford's modeling most
- 35:26prominent executive. She severed ties to Brunel after allegations of
- 35:31sexual assault surfaced in a nineteen eighty eight report on
- 35:34his operations in Paris by the CBS news investigative program
- 35:39sixty Minutes. No big deal though, Macy's will still work
- 35:42with you. Nieman, Marcus Sachs, j C. Pennies Sears, Come
- 35:46on down, sexual assaulters, We welcome one in all in
- 35:53nineteen ninety five, he founded an agency called Karen Models
- 35:56of America, which later became MC two, and at time
- 36:00at some point became friends with Epstein, who invested one
- 36:03million dollars in his modeling business. According to a twenty
- 36:07ten deposition by a former company bookkeeper, The agency has
- 36:11denied receiving such funds. Oh yeah, I'm sure that Jeffrey
- 36:16Epstein and Jean Luke Brunell only met at this time.
- 36:21These guys have been friends way longer than that. Look,
- 36:24this was all part of the scheme, part of the plot.
- 36:27They needed Brunel. He was a key component for what
- 36:30they had to do. He was bringing these girls in
- 36:33and he was bringing them in at a huge clip
- 36:36and the cover was, Oh, they're coming in for modeling gigs.
- 36:39Oh let me get a visa for them. But the
- 36:41reality was something much much darker. Brunell visited Epstein while
- 36:47he was in jail in two thousand and eight, according
- 36:50to visitor logs, and flight records show that he traveled
- 36:53on Epstein's private jet along with Glenn Maxwell, the woman
- 36:56accused in civil lawsuits of procuring teenage girls for the
- 37:00pedophile Yeah. Well, a little bit more than that now
- 37:03huh going to prison for the rest of her life
- 37:05for human trafficking while Jean Luke Brunell is burning for eternity.
- 37:12Epstein also allowed the agent to house models and a
- 37:15handful of Manhattan apartments. According to the bookkeeper's statement, one
- 37:19Nordstrom executive vouched for Brunel and his skills as a
- 37:23model scout. In twenty fourteen, Lisa Maslow, Nordstrom's lead model booker,
- 37:29sent a letter to US Citizenship and Immigration Services in
- 37:33support of Brunell's application for a visa. In her letter,
- 37:36she wrote that mister Jean Luke Brunell is an art
- 37:40director and talent coordinator of the highest caliber, whose technical
- 37:44excellence and creative vision have lifted him to the top
- 37:47of his profession. I'm sure it had nothing to do
- 37:49with his exploitation of women or the fact that he
- 37:52had Jeffrey Epstein and all of Epstein's powerful friends backing him.
- 37:58Nordstrom declined to make Maslow available for an interview. Maslow
- 38:02didn't respond to phone calls or social media messages seeking comment.
- 38:06Why should they? Why should there be any accountability? In
- 38:10twenty fifteen, Brunel sued Epstein claiming that his former friend
- 38:14had ruined his reputation to the point that it was
- 38:17nearly impossible to run his modeling business. The suit was
- 38:21thrown out because Epstein was never served. You know, it's
- 38:24because Brunell knew the score, Bro, You were just as
- 38:27deep in it as Epstein, running around talking about your
- 38:30reputation's been sullied. MC two continues to do business out
- 38:36of offices in Miami. In Tel Aviv, Brunell was searching
- 38:39for potential models on behalf of MC two in Eastern
- 38:42Europe Shocker, Ukraine huh shocker, and Russia, Oh another Shocker
- 38:47as recently as twenty fifteen. According to a promotional video
- 38:51recorded that fall, my business partner Jean Luke Brunell is
- 38:55one of the last legendary agents in the business, and
- 38:58he's highly involved in the the recruitment and scouting of
- 39:01some of the best girls that we've been launching currently.
- 39:04Fuller says in the video, we're launching just like a
- 39:07whole new crop of girls right now. Oh, isn't that great.
- 39:11I'm sure all of those girls had fantastic experiences mister Fuller.
- 39:20Brunell has since disappeared from the public eye, his current
- 39:23whereabouts remain unknown. Well, I guess that's not the case anymore, huh.
- 39:27We all know where he's at now. But when this
- 39:30article was first published, there was a lot of talk
- 39:34about where Jean Luke Brunell was. Was he with Glenn Maxwell?
- 39:38Were they hiding out together? Where the hell were these people?
- 39:42As we all know, well we found out, didn't we.
- 39:45Jean lu Brunell ended up getting held in Paris, and
- 39:49of course Maxwell ends up getting popped in New Hampshire.
- 39:52But folks, it's just another example of how disgusting the
- 39:56modeling industry is, and all of these retailers use these models.
- 40:01There needs to be some accountability because it is a
- 40:06fact that these girls from MC two that were being
- 40:09brought in by Jean Luke Brunell, maybe not all of them,
- 40:12but a large number or at the very least some
- 40:16were trafficked and were being victimized by Epstein, Brunel and
- 40:22who knows who else. So these retailers, these big time
- 40:26places like you know, Sacks Fifth Avenue, they're gonna have
- 40:30to do a better job. And the modeling industry itself
- 40:34needs to be regulated because we all know they can't
- 40:39regulate themselves, all right, folks. That's gonna do it for
- 40:43this episode. Obviously, more is certainly on the way. If
- 40:47you'd like to contact me, you can do that at
- 40:49Bobby Capucci at proton Meld.
