Transcript
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: taxable jackwars fans welcome in to do wall daily presented by jing Jack calm i'm Jordan allua thanks so much for being here Tuesday november 4th the trade deadline is today and james lads don't get to deal done jacoby mires coming to jackson bill from the lost baguette's raiders
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: all of the hints, and if you were reading the T-Leaves and paying attention, it was there, you know, pre-game and post-game conversations between Jacobi Myers and Jaguar's brass, the obvious connection with Jacobi Myers wanting to be traded, requesting a trade before the season.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: Raiders not doing well.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguar is needing receiver help all of it was there it made a lot of sense and it's happening Jaguars acquiring wide receiver to Kobe Myers and responding to this as the news came in I was out at publics getting into the car get the the notification from all the big national
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: National reporters Jacobi Myers had a to Jacksonville for a twenty twenty six fourth round pick and a twenty twenty six sixth round pick.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: That's a pretty big Investment overall considering
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: midseason trade player who has requested a trade team isn't doing well.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: Overall it seems like that's a pretty big price to pay.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: Now Jacobi Myers is a good football player.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: So there's a lot to get into here.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: And to me, I'm not gonna bear your lead.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think this is a necessary move and important move for the Jaguars if you watched the show earlier today.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: I talked about, I think the Jaguars should be buyers at the trade deadline.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's what James Gladstone did here.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: I will not be surprised if they make another move.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, on the defensive side of the ball, that's kind of where my heads at.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: If you are trying to
- 2:06[SPEAKER_00]: Um, if you're trying to push to make the playoffs, to win your division, to win playoff games this year, making a couple of moves is pretty necessary in my opinion.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: So there's some areas where the Jaguars are injured, there's some area where the Jaguars could use some consistency, some help, why do super was one of those bots?
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to dive into all of it.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all being here.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe, and I'll just check out GenJag.com, pick up some new Duval gear, help support the channel, look good while doing it, really appreciate y'all support.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: So.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_00]: lot to get into here.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: When you talk about Jacobi Myers and his contract, okay?
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: Jacobi Myers contract is expiring following the 2020-25 season.
- 2:45[SPEAKER_00]: So as of right now, similar to the Greg Newsom trade, this is a move specifically to help the Jack Wars win now.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: because the jar wars, if Jacobi Myers is doing well here, makes sense here, sign him to a new deal, yes.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: He's not, all that, I mean, he's 28 years old right now, he'll be 29 next year.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: He's obviously not like the youngest player you could acquire, but he's not over the hill, by any stretch of the imagination, in my opinion.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: So, 2025 is the only year they're getting for this.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: And again, a fourth and a sixth round pick.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: According to Ian Rappaport, the fourth round pick will be the higher of the two Jaguars, fourth round picks.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: And so, you're talking about giving them a fourth and a sixth, you're like, man, that's kind of a lot.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that's not nothing, early day three pick and a late day three pick, it's not nothing.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: That's true, but the Jaguars have a bevy.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: of mid to late round picks and 2026, they had.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: 13 picks, I believe, coming into this trade.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: Now they have 11, right?
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: And they still have two third round picks.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: They still have a fourth round pick.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: They still have a bunch of fifths, six, seven, like the jackboards are still loaded with picks.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't think that Jack's fans should be all that concerned about losing a fourth and a sixth considering all the draft capital they have beyond round one, which they don't have around one pick, but they have a second rounder, they have multiple third rounders.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: a lot of day three picks as well.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: So this is not to me too much of a price to pay for a receiver that will help you win games right now.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: Now.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: We do have an update from Adam Shepter on Brian Thomas Jr. as well.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: He had an ankle injury during the game against the raiders, the big win.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: And that's another part of this, like the jag wars for the second time this season.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_00]: They play a team, Colin Saunders traded with preseason, but right after that, they traded for Colin Saunders.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: Now, you play the raiders and right after that, you trade for Jacobi Myers.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: So Adam Shepter has an update on the BTJ injury.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_00]: He has a low grade high ankle sprain, but has a chance to play this week.
- 5:02[SPEAKER_00]: low grade high ankle sprain.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: That usually is like one to two weeks.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: If you had something that was a little bit more concerning with the high ankle sprain, that could be a month, that could be more than that.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: But he's dealing with a low grade high ankle sprain.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: Overall, that's good news for the
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: duration of the year for the Jack Wars.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you want to rush him back and now if you have Jacoby Myers, that could potentially help.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: So the Jack Wars do have a big time Receiver injury situation as well that needs to be addressed.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: BTJ obviously potentially questionable this week could potentially play against the Houston Texans.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: The Army Brown, concussion, also dealing with shoulder injury.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: So, is he able to get through concussion protocol in one week?
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: That's probably very much up in the air.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: Also, again, dealing with the shoulder injury.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: He was practicing full at the end of last week, thus with the shoulder, so that's something to keep in mind.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: It should probably just be about the concussion situation with him.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: Then you have Travis Hunter, who is out for at least four weeks,
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: There's no indication whether or not that he'll be out for longer than that will be out for the entire season.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: The Jack Wars really don't know at this point.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: He did undergo further testing or examination on Monday.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yesterday when Liam Cohen met with the media, they could not
- 6:31[SPEAKER_00]: give any more of an update.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't have any more of an update to give.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: And if you want the exact amount of picks now because I'm just getting this as well, the Jaguar still have for 2026 a second.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: Three-thirds, thanks to the Lions trade, a fourth-round pick still, which will be the second fourth-round pick they have, like the later fourth-round pick I should say.
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: Two-fifths still have a six and three-seventh.
- 7:00[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they have a ton of picks.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: That absolutely do.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: So, again, I would not be overly concerned with the amount of draft capital given up, considering the amount of draft capital they had for day three next year.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: Jacobie Myers, also, when you talk about the draft capital, the Jack Wars were not the only team interested in acquiring Jacobie Myers.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: There's reports that the Steelers were in on it and multiple other teams, so probably a little bit of a bidding war.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_00]: and the Jaguars won't not bidding war for Jacobi Myers.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: Who we haven't even talked about like what is his actual skill set coming to the Jaguars on this show yet we've talked about him in the past.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_00]: We could go a couple weeks ago talking about how the Jaguars could trade for a receiver.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: He's six to two hundred, so you know, pretty good size.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: Not like a big, big receiver, but you know, good size.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_00]: He, again, is about to turn 29 here soon.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: His birthday is actually this week.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: Happy early birthday, I'll turn 29.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: The biggest, the biggest, in my opinion, key trait that he has in his game is he does not drop the football.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: Career drop rate of,
- 8:28[SPEAKER_00]: 3.8.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: And of course he did drop a pass against the Jaguars, which is funny.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_00]: But his career drop rate is 3.8%.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_00]: You look at some of the guys on the Jaguars right now.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: Do you want me round as up around 17?
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas Jr., well above 10% Parker Washington above 10% you have a hundred long drop in the ball.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: You have guys drop in the football and you've had that throughout Trevor Lawrence's career.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar's lead the league in drops.
- 8:56[SPEAKER_00]: They lead the league in drops since Trevor Lawrence has been the Jaguar's quarterback.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: Jacobi Myers is going to help with the consistency of his hands.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_00]: He is also going to help as a rout runner.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: He's a very good rout runner.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: He's also going to help in the versatility department.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_00]: He has aligned about half of his snaps throughout his career in the slot.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: He can line up from the slot, he can line up outside as well.
- 9:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think that is important.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_00]: That's a key factor to consider for Jacobi Mars.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: Now, is he a super dynamic burner who's gonna take the top off the defense and be an alpha-wide receiver one?
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: Probably not, but can he be a reliable, solid hands, good route runner, chain mover, who gets the job done in a variety of ways?
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, that's what he can be for you.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_00]: He's been good in contested catch situations throughout his career.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: He's shown good hands.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_00]: Again, in the easy catch situations, he will go over the middle and catch the football.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_00]: He will catch the football while he's getting rocked.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: He saw him catch a pass on Sunday against the Jaguars, where it was a contest to grab and the defender was all over him and hit him really hard and took him to the ground and he caught the ball.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: That's the type of player you're getting in Jacobi Myers.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: play a really good wide receiver too in my opinion.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: And when you look at the Jaguars, you could potentially be a wide receiver three if you get Brian Thomas Jr. and
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter back at some point.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: You don't know about Travis Hunter.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: You will be getting BTJ back.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: You will be getting DME back.
- 10:34[SPEAKER_00]: Parker Washington is healthy.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: When we'll Tim Patrick be ready to go, he missed this week with a growing injury.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars have now spent a fair amount of capital on some veteran receivers this year, and I think for a good reason.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: They have an extremely young
- 10:50[SPEAKER_00]: receiver room.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: They kind of took a swing on Undiami Brown as a one year prove it deal.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: Can we rely on you?
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: The answer so far has been no.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: Jacobi Myers is nothing if not reliable.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: That's what he has been throughout his career.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm excited to see just a reliable, professional receiver in Jacksonville.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_00]: I absolutely am.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: Part of this is the necessity at the position because of injuries.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: Part of this I think is just he's an upgrade.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_00]: Like even if the Jack Wars didn't have the injuries, I would be excited about this trade because you'd be talking about having a receiver room.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: of Brand Thomas Jr. Travis Hunter, Jacobi Myers, Parker Washington, Tim Patrick, and then also Dehami.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, I'm not getting excited about Dehami until he gives me something to be excited about as I receive her for the Jaguar, because you haven't seen much of that excitement from Dehami.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_00]: Haven't seen much reliability from Dehami.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_00]: It feels like that's going to be somebody who is a one-year stopgap, you know, not spending a very much time in Jacksonville.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_00]: That's kind of where I'm at with Diami unless he flips a switch in a big way.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_00]: But I would rather have Jacobi Myers than deami anyways, even though deami is a little bit more of explosive player.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_00]: Jacobi is just a better football player, a better receiver, a more reliable player.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: About some more size physicality to his game.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm fired up about Jakobi.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_00]: I would still be looking, if I was the Jack Wars, I would still be looking at Titan potentially, injuries there, Britain strange when he's gonna be back.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: Even if he does come back soon, could you have a better option out there to create like a 12 personnel type of team, especially because you ever see receiver injuries, like could it be best potentially, when Britain strange his back and Brian Thomas Jr.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_00]: And Jacobi or Jacobi and Parker, who knows when Travis comes back, but a couple receivers out there with a couple tight ends, and that helps your running game, and it also, you have guys out there that can get the job known as receivers.
- 13:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think that that could be something to look at.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_00]: I definitely think they should be in on a pass rush, whether that's an edge player, an interior defensive lineman, a combination of both,
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: Whatever it may be, I think they need more pass rush.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: I'm hopeful that before the 4 PM deadline, the Jaguar is due acquire a pass rusher remains to be seen if they will be able to do that.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, we also have a Travis Hunter update.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, okay, this is great.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter, not expected to be out long term, according to Ian Rappaport.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_00]: So big updates on both of the Jaguar's top two receivers.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter not expected to be out long term.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: He is out for at least three more games but the Jaguars are expecting him back this year.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars are expecting BTJ back.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_00]: Could potentially be back this week.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars are expecting Britain's strange back very soon as well.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_00]: So you could be looking at,
- 14:03[SPEAKER_00]: three week, four weeks time.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_00]: Brand Thomas Junior, Travis Hunter, Jacobi Myers, Britain Strange, as your top four receivers, as a dramatic change from what you had this best week against the Las Vegas Raiders.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: And I think Parker Washington is a good role player, absolutely.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_00]: So that's great.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing but positive things to say about this deal.
- 14:28[SPEAKER_00]: honestly for the Jag Course.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: Now go get another one.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_00]: Go get a past Russia.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: I would like to see a safety as well.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know that it's going to happen simply because when you look at the future Caleb Ransal in the mix but I would be looking for a safety.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that they have somebody who can cover at the safety position right now.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_00]: Eric Murray is their best guy and he is more of a closer to the line of skirmish type of guy.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_00]: It can be covered too.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he's not a true center of field, right?
- 14:59[SPEAKER_00]: So I think you need some speed at safety.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think you have it.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think you need some covered shops at the safety that you don't have.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_00]: That's where I'm at.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_00]: Very excited.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to Kobe Myers to Jacksonville, though.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_00]: We'll talk to Liam Cohen tomorrow.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_00]: And it's
- 15:15[SPEAKER_00]: very excited to get his thoughts on on this trade.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, if the Jaguars potentially make another trade, we'll find out we will have you covered here at Jen Jagduvall daily.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_00]: And I put the over under a couple of weeks ago for the Jaguars trades before the trade deadline at one and a half.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_00]: They're at one now.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_00]: Are they going to hit the over?
- 15:39[SPEAKER_00]: We'll find out.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate you being here.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_00]: You all have a good one.
