- 0:00Speaker 1: Now the Mark Simone Show on seven ten woor filling
- 0:05Speaker 1: in for Mark, here's Ken Rosatto.
- 0:08Speaker 2: It's so nice to be with you on a beautiful Friday.
- 0:11Speaker 2: My goodness. I heard Mark talking about it yesterday, saying,
- 0:14Speaker 2: if you like summer weekends. I can't even attempt the
- 0:17Speaker 2: great Mark Simone's voice, but he was saying, if you
- 0:19Speaker 2: like summer weekends, this is the perfect summer. And I'm
- 0:21Speaker 2: thinking hyperbole. I love my Mark Simone, but he's got
- 0:24Speaker 2: to be exaggerating that. I talked to a couple of
- 0:27Speaker 2: my meteorologists friends and said, no, no, no, Mark's got
- 0:29Speaker 2: his finger on the pulse. He's right if you're going
- 0:31Speaker 2: to pick at a few days of the entire summer,
- 0:34Speaker 2: you know, not that we could forecast six weeks from now,
- 0:38Speaker 2: but it looks like this. Is it Friday, Saturday, Sunday sunshine,
- 0:42Speaker 2: not that humid low eighties. It's one of those days
- 0:45Speaker 2: you just love to walk around. I mean, if you're
- 0:47Speaker 2: in Manhattan, you walk around, fresh air, sunshine. If you're
- 0:50Speaker 2: in suburbia, forget it. I am in the middle of
- 0:53Speaker 2: moving from northern New Jersey to central New Jersey, and
- 0:57Speaker 2: I woke up in central New Jersey today in a
- 1:00Speaker 2: valley area, and it was fifty seven degrees there, and
- 1:04Speaker 2: I think it only got down to the sixties in Manhattan,
- 1:06Speaker 2: but it was fifty seven. I walked outside, got a
- 1:09Speaker 2: little scared of that because I kind of like the
- 1:11Speaker 2: warm weather, but it was just so beautiful and fresh.
- 1:14Speaker 2: So I hope you enjoy this beautiful weekend. For those saying,
- 1:17Speaker 2: who the heck is this prattling on on the Mark
- 1:19Speaker 2: Simone Show, this is Ken Rozotto. I was the morning
- 1:22Speaker 2: anchor and for a while, noon anchor two at Channel
- 1:26Speaker 2: seven in New York. He remembered me there. I was
- 1:28Speaker 2: there for decades and decades. I was also a morning
- 1:32Speaker 2: anchor at Good Day in New York on Channel five.
- 1:34Speaker 2: I was on Channel fifty five, which is now owned
- 1:37Speaker 2: by CBS. It wasn't when I was there, but it's
- 1:40Speaker 2: now owned by CBS. So there's a lot of New
- 1:43Speaker 2: York history with me with television, but a lot of
- 1:45Speaker 2: people don't realize I did radio for a lot of
- 1:47Speaker 2: years before that too, in and around the New York
- 1:49Speaker 2: City area. So it's nice to be back behind the
- 1:52Speaker 2: microphone filling in for probably and arguably one of the
- 1:56Speaker 2: greatest talk radio people of any time, Simone, and I'm
- 2:01Speaker 2: honored and humbled to be sitting here these days. What
- 2:04Speaker 2: I do for a living, I host a daily show
- 2:06Speaker 2: on a New Jersey based TV news channel. It's a
- 2:09Speaker 2: streaming channel, which is where it seems TV is going today.
- 2:13Speaker 2: It's called on New jerseynj dot com. Is how you
- 2:17Speaker 2: could get it anywhere in the country, but if you're
- 2:19Speaker 2: in New Jersey you could see it easily. It's on
- 2:22Speaker 2: New jerseynj dot com. We had a lot of talk
- 2:26Speaker 2: about today. Our phone lines are wide open. Give us
- 2:28Speaker 2: a call. We could take part together in the conversation.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten. Eight hundred
- 2:36Speaker 2: three two one zero seven ten. Well, let's start talking
- 2:40Speaker 2: about Iran. Last night was the thirteenth night where the
- 2:44Speaker 2: US has literally pounded Iran. And I know, with the
- 2:48Speaker 2: the last month or two, the President has made a
- 2:50Speaker 2: lot of threats and we don't see really what has
- 2:53Speaker 2: happened over there. But now we're getting video trickling in
- 2:57Speaker 2: and it looks like it's no longer just threats. They
- 3:00Speaker 2: are pounding they the US military is pounding Iran mercilessly now,
- 3:06Speaker 2: going after targets that normally would be avoided because I know,
- 3:10Speaker 2: you know, to President Trump doesn't like to impact the
- 3:13Speaker 2: regular citizenry of a country. In this case, he doesn't
- 3:17Speaker 2: want to, and I don't want to put words in
- 3:19Speaker 2: his mouth. I'm just speaking on what he said. He
- 3:21Speaker 2: doesn't like impacting the everyday people. The people of Iran
- 3:25Speaker 2: are fantastic people. If you know any Iranian Americans, you know,
- 3:29Speaker 2: I know six people who, in fact they call themselves
- 3:32Speaker 2: Persian because well, Persian is a subset within Iran anyway,
- 3:36Speaker 2: not everybody in Iran is Persian, but the ones that
- 3:40Speaker 2: I know are all Persian, and they don't even want
- 3:42Speaker 2: to call themselves Iranian Americans for one hundred reasons, but
- 3:45Speaker 2: they are. They will tell you if you talk to
- 3:48Speaker 2: them that the current people running Iran are insane and
- 3:53Speaker 2: they don't care about their own people. They don't care
- 3:56Speaker 2: if their own people get killed because they are theocrats.
- 3:58Speaker 2: They are believed in an administration run entirely for the
- 4:04Speaker 2: glory of their God, and it doesn't matter if people
- 4:07Speaker 2: get killed because this is part of the process for them.
- 4:10Speaker 2: We believe that America's founded under God, whether you realize
- 4:14Speaker 2: it or not. We say one nation under God for
- 4:17Speaker 2: a reason, because in our founding, the founding fathers say
- 4:20Speaker 2: that God led them to this and helping and help
- 4:23Speaker 2: them to create the system that we have in the
- 4:26Speaker 2: United States today. And if you look at the checks
- 4:28Speaker 2: and balances, the way things are set up, it makes
- 4:31Speaker 2: a lot of sense. If you don't believe in a God,
- 4:33Speaker 2: then we have a whole lot of luck that has
- 4:36Speaker 2: brought us to two hundred and fifty years of a
- 4:39Speaker 2: wonderful country. If not, I say, the greatest country on
- 4:41Speaker 2: the planet. You could try to differ with me. We
- 4:43Speaker 2: could have a debate on that, but I don't think
- 4:45Speaker 2: you'll win. This is the greatest country ever on the
- 4:49Speaker 2: face of the earth for a thousand reasons. It is
- 4:51Speaker 2: not a perfect country, but nobody was perfect except for
- 4:54Speaker 2: one person, I believe, and they nailed them to a cross.
- 4:57Speaker 2: But that's another day, another story. Outside of that, I
- 5:00Speaker 2: would say that the United States, whenever it has had warts,
- 5:03Speaker 2: it has exposed those warts and tried to do whatever
- 5:06Speaker 2: possible to change the warts and fix them. So that's
- 5:11Speaker 2: the difference between the US and other countries. But we'd
- 5:13Speaker 2: like to hear what you have to say about it.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Eight hundred and three to two one zero seven ten.
- 5:17Speaker 2: So again with Iran, what has happened is now we
- 5:20Speaker 2: are escalating. It seems to going after bridges and power plants,
- 5:24Speaker 2: things that sadly will impact the rank and file people
- 5:27Speaker 2: of the country. But it seems that unless there's pressure
- 5:30Speaker 2: from the people internally on the government the things, they
- 5:33Speaker 2: are just going to continue. As is. The negotiators I
- 5:37Speaker 2: put in the air quotes lie to us during the
- 5:39Speaker 2: negotiation process. They smile and say one thing and then
- 5:43Speaker 2: go back and do something entirely differently. In fact, as
- 5:46Speaker 2: President Trump has pointed out many times, they will talk
- 5:49Speaker 2: to us in a negotiation setting, and the second they're done,
- 5:52Speaker 2: they go outside and talk to the lemmings in left
- 5:55Speaker 2: wing media in America and tell them just the opposite.
- 5:57Speaker 2: And then the left wing media takes their word and
- 6:00Speaker 2: doesn't take our word for it, which is crazy, the
- 6:02Speaker 2: fact that they look at the enemy foreign government and
- 6:06Speaker 2: believe them and take their word as more credible than
- 6:09Speaker 2: the United States because they hate Trump so much. And
- 6:12Speaker 2: that's what has happened with much of our quote unquote
- 6:15Speaker 2: mainstream media shifting gears now seven to ten wo R
- 6:19Speaker 2: the Voice of New York Ken Rozanno win from Mark
- 6:21Speaker 2: on Friday and Mayor Mom Donnie, he is, you know, urging.
- 6:25Speaker 2: He has urged New Yorkers to do all sorts of things.
- 6:28Speaker 2: He's sold New Yorker's a bag of goods in terms
- 6:31Speaker 2: of promising free buses didn't happen, free grocery stores didn't happen.
- 6:37Speaker 2: All sorts of freebies not going to happen. Rent freezing, Okay,
- 6:41Speaker 2: So he appoints people to the Rent Control Board and
- 6:44Speaker 2: they say that we will freeze the rents. And now
- 6:46Speaker 2: you have landlords who will likely win in court, who
- 6:49Speaker 2: are suing the Rent Control Board because you cannot impose
- 6:53Speaker 2: on the one side, massive fees and regulations and then
- 6:58Speaker 2: on the other side not allow those landlords to increase
- 7:02Speaker 2: the rent because they got to get the money from somewhere.
- 7:04Speaker 2: They're not in business renting property for charity sake. That's
- 7:09Speaker 2: not why they bought property, nor should they be expected
- 7:12Speaker 2: to be there for charity's sake, even if they just
- 7:15Speaker 2: are allowed to break even. But the idea that you
- 7:17Speaker 2: should impose rules on landlords. And by the way, the
- 7:21Speaker 2: biggest landlord in the city is the city. And guess
- 7:24Speaker 2: who usually breaks all the rules in terms of maintaining
- 7:27Speaker 2: their buildings. Yeah, you got it. The city Mamdani. Do
- 7:31Speaker 2: you get arrested for having buildings not kept up to speed? No,
- 7:35Speaker 2: you don't, but you'll go after the landlord who maybe
- 7:38Speaker 2: was left the building by a father or grandfather whatever,
- 7:43Speaker 2: left the building after the passing of that relative and
- 7:46Speaker 2: could barely afford to pay the inheritance taxes, etc. And
- 7:49Speaker 2: now you come after them and say, okay, now you
- 7:51Speaker 2: have to produce all of this for the individuals who
- 7:54Speaker 2: live in that building, and you're not allowed to collect
- 7:56Speaker 2: enough rent to run it. But you have to follow
- 7:57Speaker 2: all these rules because if you don't, the city he'll
- 7:59Speaker 2: come in to take over your building. That's the way
- 8:03Speaker 2: that the liberal mindset works, because the liberal mindset, the
- 8:07Speaker 2: super liberal, the socialist mindset is that everything belongs to
- 8:10Speaker 2: the collective, to the people, and you're lucky if you
- 8:14Speaker 2: are allowed to kind of hang on to it for
- 8:16Speaker 2: a little bit and make a few dollars on it.
- 8:18Speaker 2: But don't forget the city or the people own everything.
- 8:22Speaker 2: And that's the sickness that is socialism. It has never worked,
- 8:25Speaker 2: it never will work because it takes away incentive if
- 8:29Speaker 2: you're going to wake up tired one day, you feel achy,
- 8:33Speaker 2: Why would you get out of bed and go to
- 8:34Speaker 2: work if you're going to get exactly the same pay
- 8:37Speaker 2: at the end of the day as the guy who's
- 8:39Speaker 2: been up working twenty hours, sweating, breaking his bones. Why
- 8:43Speaker 2: why would you bother getting out of bed. There's got
- 8:46Speaker 2: to be a reward system, all right. When you negotiate,
- 8:51Speaker 2: I put in air quotes with your child. You say, hey,
- 8:53Speaker 2: if you do X, Y and Z, mommy'll give you
- 8:55Speaker 2: a treat. Daddy will take you such and such, We'll
- 8:57Speaker 2: take you to the park. That's the way we work.
- 9:00Speaker 2: We work with incentive. Okay, we know that there's something
- 9:03Speaker 2: good that comes of what we do. As adults. We
- 9:06Speaker 2: eat vegetables in many cases, not because we think they're
- 9:09Speaker 2: all yummy, but because we know we need them. Now
- 9:11Speaker 2: I've learned to think they're yummy. But it took me
- 9:13Speaker 2: a while when I was again A gouldn't stand my vegetables.
- 9:16Speaker 2: But you know that, hey, it's going to be good
- 9:17Speaker 2: for us, So you do that for the reward, all right.
- 9:20Speaker 2: That's what we do. And that's why socialism does not
- 9:23Speaker 2: and never will work, because the reward system is gone
- 9:28Speaker 2: eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten, eight
- 9:30Speaker 2: hundred three to two one zero seven ten. It's Ken
- 9:33Speaker 2: rosottowin for Mark on your Friday. So mam DONI going
- 9:38Speaker 2: back to him and talking about, of course Benjamin Thatt
- 9:41Speaker 2: and Yahoo, the Prime Minister of Israel coming here in September,
- 9:44Speaker 2: as he always does to speak to the UN General
- 9:47Speaker 2: Assembly or to be part of it. He usually does speak.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Now you have Mamdani. First, he was saying that he
- 9:53Speaker 2: was threatening to arrest the Prime Minister. Of course, he
- 9:57Speaker 2: has no authority to arrest anyway. He has to have
- 9:59Speaker 2: the ny PD do it. But he is the boss
- 10:02Speaker 2: of the NYPD. And you can imagine the conversation see
- 10:05Speaker 2: and Commissioner Tish may have had behind closed doors, and
- 10:07Speaker 2: Commissioner Tish being the only adult of the two of them,
- 10:10Speaker 2: Commissioner Tish would have said, I'm not gonna do it.
- 10:13Speaker 2: I'm not going to have our men and women put
- 10:15Speaker 2: their careers at stake. Can potentially be arrested by the
- 10:18Speaker 2: FEDS for breaking the law because you say so. So
- 10:22Speaker 2: it ain't gonna happen. So I don't know that that
- 10:25Speaker 2: was the conversation. But my guess is it went something
- 10:28Speaker 2: like that, and Mom Donnie then comes out after years,
- 10:32Speaker 2: Remember he has threatened to have Netanyahu arrested from when
- 10:35Speaker 2: he was an assemblyman. When when Mom Donnie was an assemblyman,
- 10:40Speaker 2: he was talking about this and urging it, and as
- 10:43Speaker 2: he was running for mayor he was urging it. And
- 10:45Speaker 2: now that he is mayor, you know, he came out
- 10:47Speaker 2: and said that he will do whatever he can possibly
- 10:50Speaker 2: do to arrest I keep mixing them up. I don't
- 10:53Speaker 2: know why, but to arrest yeah, well, I guess somebody
- 10:57Speaker 2: got to him and said, you can't do that, and
- 10:59Speaker 2: if you do that, you could be arrested by the Feds.
- 11:01Speaker 2: So now he makes his proclamation that we've tried everything
- 11:04Speaker 2: and exhausted everything and we can't arrest net Yahoo. However,
- 11:09Speaker 2: the good Mayor has come out and urged New Yorkers
- 11:12Speaker 2: to take to the streets in protests when Netting Yahoo
- 11:15Speaker 2: is here. Now, freedom of speech, right, You're allowed to assemble,
- 11:20Speaker 2: You're allowed to protest, you can do that. But the
- 11:23Speaker 2: people whom he is speaking to are not the good kind,
- 11:27Speaker 2: you know, stand there and be quiet and hold a
- 11:29Speaker 2: sign up protesters. These are the agitators. These are the professionals.
- 11:34Speaker 2: These are the people who get paid by the Sorrows
- 11:37Speaker 2: backed groups and get busted in from all over the country.
- 11:40Speaker 2: These are the people who shout in the faces of
- 11:42Speaker 2: ordinary New Yorkers trying to get to work. These are
- 11:45Speaker 2: the people who glue themselves to buildings and cement themselves
- 11:49Speaker 2: to roadways to prevent your passage, to just be pains
- 11:52Speaker 2: in the ass to anybody just trying to do their
- 11:55Speaker 2: job and live as ordinary New Yorkers, to try to
- 11:58Speaker 2: make a point, and they're in a minuscule minority, but
- 12:02Speaker 2: that doesn't matter. They make their presence known in such
- 12:06Speaker 2: a way that it is frustrating and annoying to everyday people.
- 12:10Speaker 2: And this is what Mamdani is urging now. He's urging
- 12:13Speaker 2: that the everyday New Yorkers take to the streets and
- 12:15Speaker 2: protest against the presence of Netanyahu in the fall. And
- 12:19Speaker 2: now the head of the New York at Police Benevolent
- 12:21Speaker 2: Association is saying, you're now going to put the NYPD
- 12:26Speaker 2: in danger because they're the ones who are going to
- 12:28Speaker 2: have to deal with these lunatics. Okay, look, if you
- 12:31Speaker 2: don't like this, let's just have the un no longer
- 12:34Speaker 2: be here. It probably would make sense anyway. You know,
- 12:37Speaker 2: Mamdani loves the Hague so much. Why did you put
- 12:41Speaker 2: the UN right next to the Hague? Go over somewhere
- 12:43Speaker 2: in the middle of Europe, where nobody wants to be,
- 12:45Speaker 2: in the middle of the fall, and that's where you
- 12:48Speaker 2: could have your protests. New York is too densely populated
- 12:52Speaker 2: a city to have it here anyway. It's ridiculous, But
- 12:55Speaker 2: that's what this mayor is calling for, as if we
- 12:57Speaker 2: don't have enough issues, and as if it's not crazy enough.
- 13:00Speaker 2: In September when the UN is in session. Now, Mom
- 13:03Speaker 2: Donnie is urging New Yorkers to come out in protest.
- 13:06Speaker 2: What do you think about it? Eight hundred three to
- 13:08Speaker 2: two to one zero seven ten. Eight hundred three to
- 13:11Speaker 2: two one zero seven ten. So you hear about the
- 13:13Speaker 2: lunatict went on the stabbing spree on the Upper West
- 13:16Speaker 2: Side yesterday. Curtis and Larry talked about this this morning.
- 13:19Speaker 2: It happened just about a mile or so up the
- 13:21Speaker 2: street from where I worked for twenty years at Channel seven.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Channel seven used to be at sixty seventh in Columbus,
- 13:27Speaker 2: right by Central Park West to block Over and this
- 13:31Speaker 2: happened in the eighties, I think about eighty seventh Street.
- 13:34Speaker 2: So apparently a man, the man who police identified his
- 13:38Speaker 2: fifty one year old security guard named Raoul Morales, who
- 13:42Speaker 2: himself lives on the Upper West Side. Police say he
- 13:46Speaker 2: stabbed two men randomly unprovoked, first a fifty seven year
- 13:50Speaker 2: old Asian man, then a fifty year old Jewish man
- 13:53Speaker 2: in separate unprovoked attacks, and witnesses say the man shouted
- 13:57Speaker 2: a La hu ak bar during both incidents and then
- 14:00Speaker 2: allegedly barricaded himself in his own apartment. The NYPD arrested
- 14:05Speaker 2: him and maybe charging him with hate crimes. Now the
- 14:08Speaker 2: good news is both victims are expected to survive, and
- 14:11Speaker 2: investigators say they're looking into Morales's mental state. You think,
- 14:15Speaker 2: I mean, who just goes out and stabs people randomly unprovoked?
- 14:19Speaker 2: You got to wonder, And while I don't know, and
- 14:23Speaker 2: what I'm about to saying go off on this tangent.
- 14:25Speaker 2: I don't know whether Morales smoked marijuana or not. I
- 14:29Speaker 2: don't know, but I will say this, in New York,
- 14:33Speaker 2: where you probably have two to three times the per
- 14:36Speaker 2: capital rate of people who are mentally unstable versus other
- 14:39Speaker 2: cities and other places in America. I've read those statistics.
- 14:42Speaker 2: I can't cite them right now, but I will find
- 14:45Speaker 2: them for anyone who wants to challenge me on that.
- 14:48Speaker 2: You have to wonder why it's happening and where marijuana
- 14:52Speaker 2: use has been tolerated for decades, including public marijuana use
- 14:56Speaker 2: for the most part, you could say can can My
- 14:58Speaker 2: kid got arrested in thatineteen ninety two for having a
- 15:02Speaker 2: tenth of announced. Yes, that did happen too. I'm not
- 15:04Speaker 2: saying that everybody was able to smoke marijuana anywhere, but
- 15:08Speaker 2: marijuana sales today are not what they were fifty years ago,
- 15:12Speaker 2: and it's not the same marijuana, and the THHC levels
- 15:15Speaker 2: are so much higher. So now the little dirty issue
- 15:18Speaker 2: nobody wants to talk about is that now that marijuana
- 15:22Speaker 2: is legalized, we have a lot of effects happening. You
- 15:25Speaker 2: know that today's strong marijuana can lead to psychosis, can
- 15:29Speaker 2: lead to schizophrenia, can trigger psychotic episodes. Not my opinion,
- 15:34Speaker 2: You can google it. Go to the Google and check
- 15:36Speaker 2: it out. It increases anxiety and panic, exactly the opposite
- 15:40Speaker 2: of what you think marijuana does. Regular use can cause
- 15:43Speaker 2: high rates of depression, mood instability, thoughts of suicide. It
- 15:47Speaker 2: can cause cognitive, cognitive and memory impairment. And unlike everything
- 15:52Speaker 2: we were told that it is not addicting, well just
- 15:55Speaker 2: the opposite. In fact, we're told now that cannabis use
- 15:59Speaker 2: disorder can lead to dependence, addiction, and withdrawal symptoms, and
- 16:04Speaker 2: this can even lead to insomnia, severe mood swings. And
- 16:08Speaker 2: these are all the same people who were vilifying cigarette
- 16:11Speaker 2: smoking all these years, saying it causes lung cancer. Those
- 16:14Speaker 2: people stay amazingly quiet when you ask them if the
- 16:17Speaker 2: disgusting smell of marijuana use impacts our lungs like cigarette
- 16:20Speaker 2: smoke did. Right, Well, let me ask you something. If
- 16:23Speaker 2: smoking a filtered cigarette can lead to lung cancer, and
- 16:27Speaker 2: you don't really necessarily take a deep drag of a
- 16:29Speaker 2: cigarette like you would marijuana, then why do you think
- 16:33Speaker 2: taking a deep drag of an unfiltered marijuana cigarette and
- 16:37Speaker 2: holding that thick smoke in your lungs in order to
- 16:41Speaker 2: get the effect, and doing that over and over again,
- 16:43Speaker 2: why do you think that's not going to impact your
- 16:45Speaker 2: lungs and cause lung cancer. And every time I've had
- 16:48Speaker 2: a doctor on the show that I do in New
- 16:50Speaker 2: Jersey and the topic of lung cancer came up. They've
- 16:54Speaker 2: alway said, well, there's really no nexus between marijuana use
- 16:57Speaker 2: and lung cancer. Well, actually that is now not true.
- 17:00Speaker 2: There's actually a publication called lung Cancer. Yes, you could
- 17:04Speaker 2: use the Google to look that up too, and it
- 17:07Speaker 2: shows that people with cannabis use disorder. That means if
- 17:09Speaker 2: you smoke on a fairly regular basis, you have at
- 17:12Speaker 2: least four times the risk of developing lung cancer smoking
- 17:16Speaker 2: marijuana compared to non users. So enough of the myth
- 17:20Speaker 2: that pot is somehow good for you. And in states
- 17:23Speaker 2: where it was thought that licensed dispensaries would bring a
- 17:26Speaker 2: fortunate tax revenues hasn't happened. As California, the dispensaries are
- 17:29Speaker 2: actually suing the state because they're allowed to uh to
- 17:33Speaker 2: stay open, but illegal dispensaries right next door are allowed
- 17:38Speaker 2: to sell pot and they're not being taxed. So now
- 17:42Speaker 2: the legal dispensaries who have to follow the regulations and
- 17:44Speaker 2: get tax are suing the state. It's a mess. And
- 17:47Speaker 2: yet Governor Gavenussom out there says nothing, why am I
- 17:50Speaker 2: bringing this up? Because it comes down to the mental
- 17:54Speaker 2: health situation and no one's going to tell me that
- 17:57Speaker 2: the increased use of marijuana does not impact people's mental
- 18:00Speaker 2: health in the city of New York. All right, we
- 18:02Speaker 2: want to hear what you have to say right now.
- 18:04Speaker 2: The numbers eight hundred three to two, one zero seven ten.
- 18:07Speaker 2: We will take your calls beautiful sunshine today through Sunday
- 18:09Speaker 2: temps low eighties and zoron mom Donnie's threats to arrest
- 18:13Speaker 2: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Ettia, who we will continue talking
- 18:16Speaker 2: to that about that with Fox News legal analyst Greg Jarrett.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Just a little bit calls next though, eight hundred three
- 18:22Speaker 2: to two, one zero seven ten.
- 18:24Speaker 1: This is the Mark Simone Show on seven ten. Wr
- 18:28Speaker 1: Ken from Mark Today, Here's Ken Rosatto and.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Very good to be with you on a beautiful Friday.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Straight to our busy phones. Let's go to Bill in
- 18:37Speaker 2: New Jersey.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Good morning, Bill, Hey, Ken, how are you truly good
- 18:41Speaker 3: to hear you again? Thank you for being on the show.
- 18:45Speaker 3: And two quick points. The knucklehead and mayor of New
- 18:49Speaker 3: York City. The average American would realize, and you don't
- 18:54Speaker 3: have to be a lawyer to realize this, that you
- 18:56Speaker 3: cannot file a suit against a man and another against another
- 19:00Speaker 3: country and bring him to justice in your country. The
- 19:03Speaker 3: venue is all out of wack. He doesn't know what
- 19:05Speaker 3: he's doing. He's an educated idiot, and unfortunately you have
- 19:10Speaker 3: many educated idiots in Manhattan that voted for this embecile.
- 19:15Speaker 3: So the whole place is going to hell.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Well, you know, think about this, if I could just
- 19:20Speaker 2: jump in build that in Manhattan. You know that in
- 19:22Speaker 2: New York, not just Manhattan, but in New York. Do
- 19:24Speaker 2: you know that fifty percent of the people here and
- 19:26Speaker 2: I chuckle because it's just an I'm incredulous to it,
- 19:29Speaker 2: fifty percent are not born here. Now take that as
- 19:34Speaker 2: you will. But the reason why that matters if fifty
- 19:37Speaker 2: percent of the people come from a place where things
- 19:40Speaker 2: are done differently and we don't have the same rules
- 19:43Speaker 2: as them, et cetera, in the same traditions, is it
- 19:46Speaker 2: shocking that fifty percent of the people might say, go ahead,
- 19:49Speaker 2: arrest them. Who cares because they don't understand that that's
- 19:52Speaker 2: not what we do here.
- 19:55Speaker 3: I think I think that what you just said, Well,
- 19:58Speaker 3: I hope I'm wrong. We will eventually change the culture
- 20:02Speaker 3: and take away America for what it really truly stands for,
- 20:07Speaker 3: because we will they will vote for people like this
- 20:10Speaker 3: who want to change everything and everything that America stands for.
- 20:14Speaker 3: And it's damn scary.
- 20:16Speaker 2: These real people who hate America. Bill, that's the key.
- 20:19Speaker 2: They don't like America as it is. They want to
- 20:21Speaker 2: change it. And remember that communism only works for the communists.
- 20:24Speaker 2: That's the problem, Patton Scars. They always say good morning
- 20:27Speaker 2: to you.
- 20:28Speaker 4: Hey, hey, Ken, how are you doing good? Thank you good.
- 20:32Speaker 4: I called Mark last week and I said, you know,
- 20:34Speaker 4: usually when the host is on vacation, they have the
- 20:37Speaker 4: B team, but you are not only the eight, You're
- 20:40Speaker 4: the A team. You're the A plus team.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Oh man, thank you so much, and listen and I
- 20:43Speaker 2: say it all the time, and I mean it. Mark
- 20:45Speaker 2: knows it because I've already kissed his ring a few times.
- 20:48Speaker 2: I am the biggest Marximone fan. I don't think there's
- 20:50Speaker 2: a listener right now who's a bigger Marx Simone fan
- 20:53Speaker 2: than me. I think that's why it works, because I
- 20:55Speaker 2: love the men so much that I'm just humbled to
- 20:57Speaker 2: be sitting in the seat. But I appreciate your kind work.
- 21:00Speaker 5: I just have one other quick question for you, if
- 21:01Speaker 5: I may, Yeah, go right ahead, Oh yeah, when there's
- 21:07Speaker 5: regular contributors that appear on the radio weekly. I know
- 21:11Speaker 5: Warner Wolf comes on a thing. Are they compensated?
- 21:15Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 21:16Speaker 2: That's a very good question. Yeah, do you know this
- 21:19Speaker 2: is I don't know. I'm just looking at our engineer.
- 21:22Speaker 2: I really don't know. I'm only I'm only a freelancer.
- 21:24Speaker 2: I come in, and I mean when we when you
- 21:26Speaker 2: are a fill in host, you do get compensation. Sometimes
- 21:29Speaker 2: sometimes they don't. I mean it's you could be a
- 21:31Speaker 2: guest or a freelancer whatever, but you know it's it's
- 21:35Speaker 2: we do it. I think for the most part, we
- 21:37Speaker 2: do because we love it. You know, I come in.
- 21:39Speaker 2: I wouldn't care. We don't let the boss hear this.
- 21:41Speaker 2: I wouldn't care if the boss didn't give me a penny.
- 21:43Speaker 2: You know, I'm thrilled to come in and feeling. But yeah, honestly,
- 21:48Speaker 2: with Wonder and all, I don't know not something. But
- 21:50Speaker 2: some of them, if you ask the bosses, get write
- 21:52Speaker 2: a little note, they'll probably talk to you about it.
- 21:54Speaker 4: Yeah, Okay, I'm just curious because some of them are
- 21:57Speaker 4: are just ordinary, but some of them are really like superstars,
- 21:59Speaker 4: and they really it's just a joy listening to them.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean like I mean, we have two guests
- 22:05Speaker 2: on during this show in the next two hours. They
- 22:08Speaker 2: don't get compensated. These are their Newsmaker types. They don't
- 22:11Speaker 2: get compensated. But I don't know. I can't. It's not
- 22:14Speaker 2: that I'm trying to hide the answer. I just don't
- 22:15Speaker 2: know the answer. But that's a good question.
- 22:17Speaker 4: Okay, all right, Well, keep up the good work.
- 22:19Speaker 6: Ken.
- 22:19Speaker 5: We love you.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Thank you, Pat. That's very very kind. You made my
- 22:22Speaker 2: day and you made my mother smile. I appreciate it.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Thank you, my friend. Have a good day.
- 22:27Speaker 4: Okay, you too, fine.
- 22:28Speaker 2: Now all right, we go to Joe Elmwood Park. Good
- 22:30Speaker 2: morning to you.
- 22:32Speaker 7: Good morning, Ken. We have a quick history lesson. There
- 22:35Speaker 7: was a man in the eighteen nineties who wanted to
- 22:37Speaker 7: build a amusement park and he fixed an election, and
- 22:41Speaker 7: he wound up and sings saying hard labor for six years.
- 22:45Speaker 7: So that's to Phil Murphy and our dear sweet helicopter
- 22:50Speaker 7: governor bird brain Shirley.
- 22:53Speaker 2: And that's what the kindest part of your heart I'd
- 22:55Speaker 2: like to hear what the bad part of your heart
- 22:57Speaker 2: has to say about her. There you go. Well, we're
- 22:59Speaker 2: gonna be talking about her later in the next hour.
- 23:02Speaker 2: I got somebody from Njadvance Media, that's the folks at
- 23:06Speaker 2: NJ dot com and whatnot. We're going to be talking
- 23:07Speaker 2: about the good governor of New Jersey, Joe. Thank you
- 23:10Speaker 2: so much for calling. We appreciate it. And it is
- 23:13Speaker 2: now ten thirty five. For those of you listening, this
- 23:16Speaker 2: is Ken Rostto in for the great Mark Simone, and
- 23:19Speaker 2: coming up we have well you haven't heard the last
- 23:22Speaker 2: of Mayor mom Donni's threads to arrest Israeli Prime Minister
- 23:25Speaker 2: Benjamin Ya. We're going to talk to Fox News legal
- 23:28Speaker 2: analyst Greg Jarrett about it.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Now more of the Mark Simone Show on seven ten
- 23:34Speaker 1: wor filling in for Mark. Here again is Ken Rosatto a.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Witch on a beautiful Friday. Again, if you're just tuning in,
- 23:42Speaker 2: you say, wait a minute, we're going to get the
- 23:44Speaker 2: rain later, Sanders. No, it's beautiful today, Tomorrow's Sunday sunshine,
- 23:49Speaker 2: not too hot, not too humid, heights only in the
- 23:51Speaker 2: low eighties. Enjoy what probably is gonna be the best
- 23:54Speaker 2: summer of the entire weekend. Ken Rosotto went former New
- 23:56Speaker 2: York City news anchor Channel seven for twenty years five
- 24:00Speaker 2: anchoring good to New York before that. But it's nice
- 24:03Speaker 2: to be with you today. And if you have had
- 24:06Speaker 2: your head in the sand and haven't been paying attention.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Mayor Zorn Mumdani has been threatening to arrest Israeli Prime
- 24:13Speaker 2: Minister Benjamin Ettannyah who for several years now, even from
- 24:16Speaker 2: his days as a New York State Assemblyman. He cited
- 24:19Speaker 2: the International Criminal Court which issued a twenty twenty four
- 24:23Speaker 2: arrest warrant for NETANYAHUO over the war in Gaza. Remember
- 24:26Speaker 2: Hamas invaded Israel October seventh of twenty three, slaughtering over
- 24:30Speaker 2: twelve hundred innocent people, many in their sleep. So all
- 24:34Speaker 2: Prime Minister Netanya who did was respond to that. Now,
- 24:37Speaker 2: the US does not and has never submitted to the
- 24:40Speaker 2: decisions of the ICC, but without any authority to do so,
- 24:44Speaker 2: Mamdani has threatened to arrest Netanyaho when he comes to
- 24:47Speaker 2: the US for the UN General Assembly in September. With
- 24:50Speaker 2: US right now, Fox News legal analyst Greg Jarrett here
- 24:53Speaker 2: to talk about it. Truly, one of my favorite people
- 24:55Speaker 2: on Fox News.
- 24:55Speaker 3: Greg.
- 24:56Speaker 2: I now will bother on and on about how much
- 24:59Speaker 2: I love Watch, but it's good to have your answered.
- 25:02Speaker 6: Thank you can. I appreciate it.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Well, So, you see a guy like this, I call him,
- 25:06Speaker 2: I call him the boy mayor. You see a guy
- 25:09Speaker 2: like this who stupidly comes out and publicly proclaims that
- 25:13Speaker 2: he will have Net and Yahoo arrested, which number one,
- 25:16Speaker 2: he as a mayor can't do. It's up to the
- 25:18Speaker 2: police commission in the police department, and they're not going
- 25:21Speaker 2: to be so stupid, knowing what the law is to
- 25:23Speaker 2: do that. Why would he even come forward and say that.
- 25:27Speaker 6: Well, as one of the great American philosophers, Forrest Gump said,
- 25:32Speaker 6: you know, stupid is as stupid does.
- 25:34Speaker 3: And you're right that.
- 25:37Speaker 6: This is a boy mayor who never held a real job,
- 25:42Speaker 6: never built anything, never accomplished anything. He's he's young and
- 25:47Speaker 6: doesn't know much. But you know, I think even a
- 25:50Speaker 6: high school civic student, you know, would red flag this
- 25:55Speaker 6: idea of arresting that and Yahoo recognizing there's got to
- 26:00Speaker 6: be something wrong with it, and there's several things wrong
- 26:03Speaker 6: with it. First of all, a municipal mayor does not
- 26:07Speaker 6: have the authority to arrest anyone. Second of all, as
- 26:11Speaker 6: you point out, the ICC is a joke. America never
- 26:16Speaker 6: signed on to it. In fact, we rejected it, and
- 26:21Speaker 6: in past a law that you know makes it illegal
- 26:27Speaker 6: for anybody to follow its dictates. And the third, if
- 26:34Speaker 6: Mondoni were dumb enough, then he might be to try
- 26:38Speaker 6: to detain or arrest Yahoo. Mondomi would find himself arrested
- 26:46Speaker 6: by the FBI and prosecuted by the EJ for kidnapping,
- 26:51Speaker 6: because there's a specific federal law that you know says
- 26:55Speaker 6: that internationally protected people who were guessing the UNITEDS dates,
- 27:02Speaker 6: he cannot be taken into custody. If they are, it's kidnapping.
- 27:06Speaker 6: And if you conspire with others to do so, as
- 27:10Speaker 6: it appears Mondoni was trying to do, and you take
- 27:15Speaker 6: an avert act, that's conspiracy to commit kidnapping. I am
- 27:21Speaker 6: sure that after Mondomi hauled off and issued the threat
- 27:26Speaker 6: of arresting net Nyahu, that the lawyers that work for
- 27:30Speaker 6: his administration yanked him into a nearby office and said,
- 27:35Speaker 6: you can't do this for the reasons I just explained,
- 27:39Speaker 6: and then sheepishly Mondane had to back off of his
- 27:44Speaker 6: ridiculous idea. And now he's got a new idea. He
- 27:48Speaker 6: is encouraging people to take to the streets, which risks
- 27:54Speaker 6: the safety of the NYPD to protest Nahou's So you know,
- 28:01Speaker 6: this is what you get when you elect a boy
- 28:04Speaker 6: mayor andn't known anything.
- 28:06Speaker 2: I think I find it ironic that this is the
- 28:09Speaker 2: same guy who refuses to enforce federal law when it
- 28:13Speaker 2: comes to things like illegal migrants, which is something that
- 28:16Speaker 2: we are subordinate to and subjected to in the City
- 28:20Speaker 2: of New York. But yet he wants to follow international
- 28:23Speaker 2: law which we have never signed on to and enforced that.
- 28:27Speaker 2: From New York City's perspective, it just is mind boggling
- 28:30Speaker 2: that this is the person in charge of the city.
- 28:33Speaker 6: Well, it really is. And of course he loves to
- 28:37Speaker 6: confer sanctuary status to people who are here illegally breaking
- 28:43Speaker 6: the law. And I argued a long time ago and
- 28:47Speaker 6: in several different columns, that it's high time for the
- 28:50Speaker 6: federal government to go after sanctuary jurisdictions because it's a
- 28:57Speaker 6: crime to harbor people who are here illegally. It's a
- 29:04Speaker 6: further crime to interfere obstruct in federal enforcement of immigration laws.
- 29:12Speaker 6: But that's what we have seen in places like New
- 29:16Speaker 6: York and out in California, where they openly defy federal law.
- 29:23Speaker 6: And provide sanctuary. And you know, there are several ways
- 29:27Speaker 6: you can go after these people, both civilly but also criminally,
- 29:31Speaker 6: and maybe it's time that people be prosecuted.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Well, the fact that you have local municipalities all over
- 29:37Speaker 2: the country, the sanctuary cities and states saying that we
- 29:41Speaker 2: are under no obligation to enforce federal law. That's up
- 29:45Speaker 2: to you. Okay, Well, kidnapping is a federal law, yet
- 29:48Speaker 2: local police enforce that, and so is harboring a fugitive,
- 29:53Speaker 2: kidnapping and taking people across state lines. How about bank robbery?
- 29:57Speaker 2: That's a federal offense, right, the FBI gets involved in that,
- 30:01Speaker 2: but yet they'll follow the law from a local perspective.
- 30:04Speaker 2: And of course I know you're a lawyer, Greg, and
- 30:06Speaker 2: lawyers will say yes, but Ken, that's because they are
- 30:08Speaker 2: simultaneous local and state laws. Yes, but you involved the
- 30:12Speaker 2: FBI for those things. Don't tell me the local police say,
- 30:16Speaker 2: oh no, FBI, you can't get involved in this bankrupt er.
- 30:18Speaker 2: Of course they do, but when it comes to something
- 30:21Speaker 2: they don't like, they then selectively choose not to have any.
- 30:25Speaker 6: Part of it. Yeah, I think a lot of it.
- 30:28Speaker 6: And look, I speak as a lawyer for forty six years.
- 30:32Speaker 6: You know, a lot of it comes down to a
- 30:34Speaker 6: lack of knowledge of the law, which is why you
- 30:39Speaker 6: know politicians generally have a faylanx of lawyers to advise them.
- 30:43Speaker 6: And I'll give you another example. You know, wealth taxes,
- 30:48Speaker 6: which you know Rocanna is pushing representative from California a
- 30:54Speaker 6: far less liberal, but Mondommie is well, you know in
- 30:57Speaker 6: New York at some point in time, you know there
- 31:03Speaker 6: will be lawsuits filed to stop it because wealth taxes
- 31:09Speaker 6: are a violation of the Constitution, and in particular the
- 31:13Speaker 6: sixteenth Amendment, which imposed income tax. But you know, wealth
- 31:18Speaker 6: tax is not income. It's assets that go up and down.
- 31:25Speaker 6: You're not taxing somebody when they take the income that's
- 31:32Speaker 6: part of their wealth invested in tax and bonds and
- 31:35Speaker 6: businesses and so forth. And a constitution says direct taxes
- 31:40Speaker 6: must be apportioned by state population. Well that's not what
- 31:45Speaker 6: this wealth tax is. So you know, this is a
- 31:51Speaker 6: violation of Supreme Court rulings. It's a violation of the
- 31:54Speaker 6: sixteenth Amendment. I think it's only a matter of time
- 32:00Speaker 6: when the you know, wealth tax goes the way of
- 32:03Speaker 6: the Dodo bird, because it's blatantly unconstitutional.
- 32:06Speaker 2: Now, let's penalize people for their success and working hard
- 32:09Speaker 2: to contribute to society. And in this case, as you
- 32:12Speaker 2: point out, this is not We're not talking about taxing
- 32:14Speaker 2: income from their successes. We're talking about assuming, at this
- 32:18Speaker 2: point in time what their total worth is and taxing
- 32:22Speaker 2: it based on that, which tomorrow the buildings I own
- 32:24Speaker 2: could all burn down and they could be worthless. So
- 32:27Speaker 2: you can't tell.
- 32:28Speaker 6: It exactly exactly. And you know, what they fail to
- 32:33Speaker 6: recognize is that wealthy people invest in businesses that drive
- 32:40Speaker 6: jobs and innovation. You take that away and it harms
- 32:47Speaker 6: jobs and innovation and businesses, which hurts society as a whole.
- 32:52Speaker 2: Oh stop your logic.
- 32:53Speaker 6: Nice, yeah, stop it, you know, I mean it really is.
- 32:58Speaker 6: It's fundamental economics and it's fundamental law. And these people
- 33:04Speaker 6: who push this, like Mantami and you know, the Squad
- 33:11Speaker 6: and Rocanna and Gavin Newsom, the governor of California, their
- 33:16Speaker 6: bereaft of knowledge of both fundamental economics and the law.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Unfortunately, they're like candy to children. They speak to the
- 33:23Speaker 2: lowest common denominator and get people agitated and all excited.
- 33:27Speaker 6: It holds really well for them, which is why they
- 33:30Speaker 6: do it, because they only care about perpetuating their own
- 33:33Speaker 6: power and elevating it.
- 33:35Speaker 2: All right, Well, we are unfortunately at a time I
- 33:37Speaker 2: could talk to you all day, my friend. I appreciate
- 33:39Speaker 2: you taking the time today. Fox News Legal analyst Greg Jarrett, Attorney,
- 33:44Speaker 2: brilliant man. Thank you for coming on this.
- 33:46Speaker 6: Morning, Ken, thanks for having me on.
- 33:48Speaker 2: Take care you bet you too, all right, and when
- 33:50Speaker 2: we come back, we'll take your calls. Eight hundred and
- 33:52Speaker 2: three to two one zero seven ten for seven to
- 33:54Speaker 2: ten wor Live from.
- 33:56Speaker 1: The WR Life Back Studios for Mark Today.
- 34:01Speaker 6: Here's Can Rosattawa.
- 34:03Speaker 2: It's so good to be with you. Unfortunately, not enough
- 34:06Speaker 2: time to squeeze in a call here, but we will
- 34:08Speaker 2: have beautiful sunshine today through Sunday, not that humid high's
- 34:11Speaker 2: low eighties. Coming up later in the show, we're going
- 34:14Speaker 2: to talk to Brent Johnson, politics reporter for NJ Advanced
- 34:17Speaker 2: Media about liberal New Jersey Governor Mikey Cheryl's recent admission
- 34:21Speaker 2: that at least sixty six hundred illegal aliens were on
- 34:24Speaker 2: the voter rolls. Ken Rosattawn seven to ten wor the
- 34:27Speaker 2: Voice of New York right back after the news,
