- 0:15Speaker 1: Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered.
- 0:19Speaker 3: It's probably not a great look to be making out
- 0:23Speaker 3: with your head of hr if you're married with kids.
- 0:26Speaker 4: I went to the jay Z Beyonce one Beyonce.
- 0:30Speaker 5: The police were at Frienway Park. We used to have
- 0:32Speaker 5: to do all the work on the paper half, you know,
- 0:36Speaker 5: after the game was over, you know, on a Sunday night.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:39Speaker 5: Yeah, you guys got to.
- 0:40Speaker 4: Do preseason game Alex or Evan as your super Bowl
- 0:46Speaker 4: party coordinator?
- 0:48Speaker 6: Be Alex, I mean.
- 0:49Speaker 4: Evan would be like what would he do?
- 0:52Speaker 7: Do us?
- 0:52Speaker 4: Or Paul as a ping pong.
- 0:54Speaker 5: Partner being an avid Jeopardy guy. As I tell you
- 0:57Speaker 5: that it's one of my favorites.
- 0:59Speaker 4: I know you're you're eighty.
- 1:00Speaker 5: I have definitely found that I don't do as well
- 1:03Speaker 5: as I used to.
- 1:04Speaker 3: We tried prevaging and apparently not a great white shark
- 1:07Speaker 3: on the post there.
- 1:08Speaker 4: What is it?
- 1:08Speaker 6: A Mako show, a Finn Maco show?
- 1:10Speaker 4: There you go, I know my sharks.
- 1:12Speaker 1: This is Patriots Unfiltered.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Presented by Toyota's official website for deals, buy a Toyota
- 1:18Speaker 3: dot com.
- 1:21Speaker 4: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Tuesday here
- 1:25Speaker 4: at Gillette Stadium and we are training camp. Eve players
- 1:31Speaker 4: are here, but camp opens for the public tomorrow, so
- 1:36Speaker 4: can't wait for that. It's going to be crazy. So
- 1:39Speaker 4: it was exciting that first day people get here. Some
- 1:43Speaker 4: people get here early as four in the morning just
- 1:46Speaker 4: to get in line and make sure that they're front
- 1:49Speaker 4: and center and the bleachers for practice. So that'll be
- 1:53Speaker 4: fun to see. It's gonna it's gonna be good weather.
- 1:56Speaker 4: It's supposed to be nice.
- 1:58Speaker 6: Beautiful, great day to day.
- 1:59Speaker 8: Yeah, sorry, Paul, is that rubbed in as we're getting
- 2:02Speaker 8: ready to turn the page the train?
- 2:03Speaker 5: But you know, I thought you were going in another direction.
- 2:06Speaker 5: You know it's ten degrees cool, then I would like it.
- 2:08Speaker 8: Yeah, it's a little cool for you. It's only like
- 2:10Speaker 8: seventy five right now. This to me is perfect.
- 2:12Speaker 4: Oh it's it's beautiful weather.
- 2:14Speaker 6: But good start to camp for the weather. Those seems
- 2:16Speaker 6: like that. Now you can throw that back in my
- 2:17Speaker 6: face on Friday.
- 2:18Speaker 5: Yeah, it's gonna be hot if I'm sweating it all
- 2:21Speaker 5: it's supposed to be like tipping the knocking on the
- 2:23Speaker 5: door of one hundred.
- 2:24Speaker 4: Oh is that right?
- 2:25Speaker 6: It's like ninety seven?
- 2:26Speaker 4: I think did that happen?
- 2:27Speaker 6: A tough day? The weather's constantly changing Friday? Yea, I
- 2:30Speaker 6: don't know.
- 2:30Speaker 5: I like New England. If you've ever heard that phrase,
- 2:33Speaker 5: I didn't like the weather.
- 2:35Speaker 4: All right, it's Paul, it's Deuce, it's me. It's Matt
- 2:38Speaker 4: and the Booth talking Patriots talking training camp. And we're
- 2:43Speaker 4: gonna have a little game later on, and we're gonna
- 2:45Speaker 4: finally do the game where we guess the listener. We're
- 2:49Speaker 4: gonna show pictures of some of our more famous listeners
- 2:53Speaker 4: and we're gonna have to guess who's who.
- 2:55Speaker 6: So, so you guys know some of them are They're all.
- 2:57Speaker 6: I don't think I'm gonna have to just qualify I
- 3:00Speaker 6: saw from a couple of them.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I think. So we have ten here, Yeah, of
- 3:05Speaker 4: which three I met personally.
- 3:06Speaker 5: So yeah, I think I've met at least three personally.
- 3:12Speaker 4: Yeah, so I might have to accuse myself from three
- 3:15Speaker 4: of them, but I want to play the others.
- 3:17Speaker 8: I'm excited to see Christian in La I don't I
- 3:19Speaker 8: don't know what he looks like, but I imagine he's
- 3:21Speaker 8: in you know, some kind of luxurious setting and it's
- 3:24Speaker 8: gonna be trolling our other listeners, I hope.
- 3:27Speaker 6: With his picture.
- 3:27Speaker 4: So all right, So we'll play that a little later.
- 3:30Speaker 4: But first up, Mike Rabel the media today and you
- 3:33Speaker 4: guys were present, So what did you take away from that?
- 3:37Speaker 6: Ready to go?
- 3:38Speaker 8: Yeah, I think he's I think like all of us
- 3:40Speaker 8: were ready to get the train rolling. It sounded like
- 3:42Speaker 8: they like what they did in the spring. But I
- 3:44Speaker 8: always hear from Brabel it sounds like he's a teacher,
- 3:46Speaker 8: and that's to me what really where his coaching starts.
- 3:50Speaker 6: It sounds like that's what he, you know.
- 3:52Speaker 8: Sees his biggest motivation teaching these guys, you know, earning.
- 3:56Speaker 6: Their trust, developing relationships with them.
- 3:58Speaker 8: You hear him talk about that so much, and watching
- 4:01Speaker 8: him through the spring, it's clear that's what he wants
- 4:04Speaker 8: to do.
- 4:04Speaker 6: He's going to different players.
- 4:05Speaker 8: And I think, you know, I'll let Paul talk about,
- 4:07Speaker 8: you know, one of our favorite quotes that he that
- 4:09Speaker 8: he had about you know, being surprised by anything.
- 4:12Speaker 6: I think that was the question, Paul, wasn't it?
- 4:13Speaker 5: Well, it was just about like the competition level and
- 4:16Speaker 5: what does he most look forward to and you know,
- 4:18Speaker 5: in camp And it was you know, in question that
- 4:20Speaker 5: Dan Roach asked pretty late in the press conference, and
- 4:24Speaker 5: I thought it got an interesting answer, and he said
- 4:26Speaker 5: that he's always most excited to see a guy in
- 4:29Speaker 5: pads that looks better I'm paraphrasing, that looks better than
- 4:33Speaker 5: he did without pads. So in other words, the guy
- 4:37Speaker 5: comes out and he's you know, maybe more physical, a
- 4:39Speaker 5: better better tackle or better breaking tackles, better contact balance.
- 4:43Speaker 5: I think was a phrase that he used, you know,
- 4:47Speaker 5: kind of the opposite of when we talk about like
- 4:49Speaker 5: these guys look great in shorts and T shirts. Sometimes
- 4:53Speaker 5: guys look better when the pads come on. And he
- 4:55Speaker 5: said it happens every year and it's it's always one
- 4:59Speaker 5: of the most exciting things that he finds like a
- 5:02Speaker 5: notable one.
- 5:03Speaker 6: No, that would have been a good follow up.
- 5:05Speaker 9: Yeah, well, I.
- 5:05Speaker 6: Mean he also hasn't been here, so if we do
- 5:08Speaker 6: know but like.
- 5:08Speaker 8: In Tennessee, yeah, you know, well, I mean maybe somebody
- 5:11Speaker 8: like Jack Gibbons, I would say, but yeah, undrafted you
- 5:14Speaker 8: know guy, and there would.
- 5:15Speaker 6: Have been it would have been a good follow up. Question.
- 5:18Speaker 6: It was very late.
- 5:18Speaker 5: In fairness to it was very late explain.
- 5:21Speaker 8: Might have been kind of one of those guys I
- 5:23Speaker 8: would bet, an unheralded kind of guy that doesn't have
- 5:26Speaker 8: the crazy height or the crazy speed or anything. But
- 5:28Speaker 8: the sum is greater than its parts. I think that's
- 5:31Speaker 8: what what he was getting out a little bit.
- 5:32Speaker 6: But yeah, sounds like he's excited to get going.
- 5:35Speaker 8: A lot of talk about just the first few days
- 5:38Speaker 8: of practice, the ramp up period, a couple of days
- 5:40Speaker 8: of helmets, a couple of days of shells. We'll get
- 5:42Speaker 8: into pads next week. But you know, he's clearly still
- 5:44Speaker 8: excited to get into pads. But that was a lot
- 5:46Speaker 8: of the gist of it, just how are we going
- 5:47Speaker 8: to manage things?
- 5:48Speaker 5: And he did open with you know, I thought a
- 5:51Speaker 5: lot of I mean, not necessarily breaking news, but a
- 5:53Speaker 5: lot of very positive I think developments in terms of
- 5:56Speaker 5: the It sounds like everybody's here first and foremost. You know,
- 6:01Speaker 5: he talked about digs specifically. He said, it's a testament
- 6:03Speaker 5: to you know the fact that you know, I think
- 6:05Speaker 5: people know now that he is ready to go.
- 6:08Speaker 6: He didn't open on any lists.
- 6:09Speaker 5: We'll go over the individual players that are on NFI
- 6:12Speaker 5: and PUP right now, Diggs was not one of them.
- 6:15Speaker 6: So that's an update for.
- 6:16Speaker 4: An according show. And he's supports he's fully clear.
- 6:19Speaker 6: He's fully clear.
- 6:20Speaker 5: Well yeah, I mean he has to be in order
- 6:22Speaker 5: to not be on one of those lists because he's
- 6:25Speaker 5: clear to practice. So that's a really exciting development. He said,
- 6:28Speaker 5: it's a testament to how hard he's worked.
- 6:30Speaker 4: So does that mean when they put the pads on
- 6:32Speaker 4: next week he'll have pads on?
- 6:34Speaker 6: Yep?
- 6:34Speaker 4: Okay, yep, yeah.
- 6:36Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 6:37Speaker 5: Now, now Mike said that he's not saying that he's
- 6:39Speaker 5: going to play.
- 6:40Speaker 4: You know, he's a surprise.
- 6:42Speaker 5: He's clear to go every every play, it's not that
- 6:46Speaker 5: doesn't mean he's going to go every play. So I
- 6:48Speaker 5: think he's trying to nip it in the butt like,
- 6:51Speaker 5: oh he was on a pitch count or this or that.
- 6:53Speaker 5: No one's going to go every play. He made a
- 6:56Speaker 5: I thought a point to say that, So that a
- 7:00Speaker 5: good development with we see a lot of practice when
- 7:03Speaker 5: they're in shorts, but then the pads come on and
- 7:05Speaker 5: they're not. No, I mean that's not the case for
- 7:08Speaker 5: so the first day of pads I think is going
- 7:10Speaker 5: to be Monday. Yeah, I'd be surprised if he's not
- 7:13Speaker 5: in pads. I don't know how you feel about it, Mike.
- 7:14Speaker 6: Yeah, I think he's good to go to go. According
- 7:17Speaker 6: to what.
- 7:18Speaker 5: Mike said today, he's that's pretty that's amazing.
- 7:20Speaker 6: Ye, just manage him a little bit, make sure there's
- 7:22Speaker 6: no sweat.
- 7:23Speaker 5: Just think if those things get sort of cast aside
- 7:26Speaker 5: like it's all individuals. It's an individual And Wes Welker
- 7:32Speaker 5: played in the preseason games and he tore his ACL
- 7:36Speaker 5: the last game of the season and he was ready
- 7:39Speaker 5: to go. He cut two cut, seven passes and two
- 7:41Speaker 5: touchdowns in week one of the twenty ten seasons.
- 7:45Speaker 6: So it's not unprecedented.
- 7:48Speaker 5: And I also thought Mike had another subtle thing Marcus Epps.
- 7:51Speaker 5: That's what I was just gonna say, same thing. Yep,
- 7:53Speaker 5: no lists for Marcus Apps. Now he's been flying under
- 7:56Speaker 5: the radar. He's one of the lesser known free agents
- 7:59Speaker 5: that they have acquired in the off season. Well evidently
- 8:02Speaker 5: he's coming off of torn a cl two and he's
- 8:04Speaker 5: not on a list. So I kind of thought that
- 8:08Speaker 5: was Mike's way of saying, let's relax on, you know, okay,
- 8:11Speaker 5: building a statue for sure, but he did say in
- 8:14Speaker 5: complimentary fashion to Diggs, it's a testament to how already
- 8:17Speaker 5: has worked.
- 8:17Speaker 4: Yep.
- 8:18Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 8:18Speaker 8: A couple other tibets though from that where Tavai said,
- 8:21Speaker 8: expect him back out there tomorrow.
- 8:23Speaker 6: So why don't you read it the guys that are opened.
- 8:25Speaker 4: So the.
- 8:27Speaker 8: So Mac Collins, Austin Hooper, Vederian Low, and Jilanie Tovai
- 8:30Speaker 8: and he said, Tovay, we expect will be out there tomorrow.
- 8:33Speaker 6: So that, you know, kind of weird to me though
- 8:34Speaker 6: just we knew he was injured.
- 8:36Speaker 8: He probably came back, he tested, he had to start,
- 8:38Speaker 8: but then he's okay in a couple of days, and
- 8:39Speaker 8: there's probably some kind of mechanism that.
- 8:41Speaker 5: I'll get to that I'll get to that momentarily.
- 8:43Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 8:43Speaker 8: And then uh, and then Carlton Davis, Mincoln's and Webb
- 8:47Speaker 8: are the other three on the NFI list, And he
- 8:49Speaker 8: said he expected, uh was it Davis and Mincolns. I
- 8:52Speaker 8: think Davis and Mincoln's will both be out.
- 8:54Speaker 5: There, no tomorrow, Davis and Webb Davison probably mencons might
- 8:58Speaker 5: be another couple of days. Yeah, So without knowing specifics
- 9:04Speaker 5: other than Tava. We know he's dealing with a calf injury.
- 9:07Speaker 5: My guess is he wasn't physically ready to take the
- 9:09Speaker 5: conditioning run or they wanted to push him back, and
- 9:13Speaker 5: maybe he felt like he was ready and they pushed
- 9:15Speaker 5: him back to the everybody else, which is today. Because
- 9:17Speaker 5: Mike also said that the team, the team that arrived
- 9:20Speaker 5: today took the run and they just finished that they're
- 9:24Speaker 5: going to have meetings after lunch.
- 9:25Speaker 6: Blah blah blah.
- 9:26Speaker 5: So my guess is Jolani Tevi did the run today.
- 9:29Speaker 5: That's why they expect him on day tomorrow.
- 9:31Speaker 6: It's good time.
- 9:32Speaker 5: Whereas all the other injured guys. So the rookies, the
- 9:35Speaker 5: quarterbacks and guys coming off injury or dealing with injury
- 9:39Speaker 5: reported what it was it Saturday.
- 9:41Speaker 6: Yeah, Friday, Friday, Friday.
- 9:43Speaker 5: So my guess is Tovi did not take the conditioning
- 9:46Speaker 5: run that day.
- 9:47Speaker 6: He took it today. Yeah, so it's time for DIVI.
- 9:49Speaker 8: I think we're all wondering how he fits into things
- 9:51Speaker 8: right now. But interesting linebacker among this group and just
- 9:56Speaker 8: has to get out there to start camp. I mean,
- 9:58Speaker 8: it's similar to the rookies where he's in a new sea.
- 10:00Speaker 8: He needs to kind of carve out a role. Same
- 10:02Speaker 8: thing for the rookies.
- 10:03Speaker 6: Just any day those guys miss really sets them back.
- 10:06Speaker 6: So it's good sign. I mean, I think overall the
- 10:07Speaker 6: team is.
- 10:08Speaker 4: Among the wide receivers. Everybody's ready.
- 10:11Speaker 6: Everybody right, everybody's ready, everybody's ready.
- 10:13Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 10:13Speaker 5: Yeah, I think Diggs is the only one that Oh no,
- 10:15Speaker 5: Mac Collins, Oh that's still out.
- 10:17Speaker 6: Mac Collins.
- 10:18Speaker 8: He always the forgotten man. I mean Paul I or
- 10:20Speaker 8: actually who was I talking to? Yes, just it was
- 10:23Speaker 8: this morning talking about he's on pup. Maybe he starts
- 10:27Speaker 8: the season on pup. He's out for a few weeks
- 10:29Speaker 8: to begin the season.
- 10:30Speaker 6: It frees up some of the depth a little bit.
- 10:32Speaker 5: Somebody if it's one of those deals Mike and I had,
- 10:35Speaker 5: I had a good noodle session this morning.
- 10:36Speaker 6: I haven't seen each other like that.
- 10:38Speaker 11: I have.
- 10:38Speaker 5: I've missed Mike, But I do wonder if that's one
- 10:41Speaker 5: of those that you know, by some time, you know,
- 10:43Speaker 5: everybody keeps talking, well is you know, I don't know
- 10:45Speaker 5: they're going to keep five, six, maybe seven. You got
- 10:48Speaker 5: a log jam there. There's a lot of players. Maybe
- 10:50Speaker 5: this is a way to buy you some time to
- 10:52Speaker 5: see if sometimes those kind of work themselves out with
- 10:56Speaker 5: something gets injured. I feel like they did that with
- 10:58Speaker 5: Kendrick Bowen last year. I think Kendrick Bowen would have
- 11:02Speaker 5: been ready to go at the start of the season,
- 11:05Speaker 5: but they got two rookies and Jalen Polk and Javon Baker.
- 11:08Speaker 5: You know, they want to see what they can do.
- 11:11Speaker 5: They're integrating some other guys. Kashawan Boody, I think, sort
- 11:14Speaker 5: of came on as Camp went on. So let's see
- 11:17Speaker 5: if we can get those guys some playing time, see
- 11:19Speaker 5: if they can work their way into or out of
- 11:20Speaker 5: the lineup, and we'll buy ourselves some time with three
- 11:23Speaker 5: weeks now, maybe they're doing that.
- 11:25Speaker 6: I don't know what MATC. Collins is. Somebody als health's
- 11:28Speaker 6: status is.
- 11:29Speaker 4: If I thought Matt Collins was a lock and I
- 11:31Speaker 4: said yes, yes.
- 11:32Speaker 6: I would say yes. I think so.
- 11:32Speaker 8: I mean I connected to Josh, and that's part of
- 11:35Speaker 8: why it might make sense a little bit to delay
- 11:38Speaker 8: him like that.
- 11:38Speaker 6: Josh knows what he has in him, knows how he
- 11:40Speaker 6: wants to use him. There's not a lot probably to learn.
- 11:43Speaker 6: I think he's probably a lot too as just a
- 11:45Speaker 6: fifth receiver. He's got size. You saw what he did
- 11:47Speaker 6: in Buffalo last Special Team's ability really seems like a
- 11:50Speaker 6: really good guy.
- 11:51Speaker 8: I mean he I think I told the story in
- 11:52Speaker 8: here about photo day where he came in and put
- 11:54Speaker 8: some Frank Sinatra on like a day of you know,
- 11:57Speaker 8: so I think he's got one.
- 11:58Speaker 6: Of those magnetic personalities.
- 12:00Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 12:00Speaker 6: I think they have a spot for him in a
- 12:01Speaker 6: role for sure.
- 12:02Speaker 4: Yep. Other news Forged and Foxbro episode two, as you know,
- 12:09Speaker 4: dropped on last Friday. Yeah, and it's been pretty well received.
- 12:13Speaker 4: So if anyone has any comments about it, critiques, suggestions,
- 12:18Speaker 4: anything like that, let us know, happy to hear about that.
- 12:22Speaker 8: I well, I like this stuff about Morgan Moses. We've
- 12:25Speaker 8: talked about plenty of that. I mean we think when
- 12:27Speaker 8: it was I think it came off the field during
- 12:29Speaker 8: OTAs like you were in here already starting the show
- 12:31Speaker 8: and I was like, Morgan Moses is holding a session
- 12:33Speaker 8: and that whole act around him and the uncertainty, the
- 12:37Speaker 8: unstability they've had at the tackle position. That's one of
- 12:40Speaker 8: my three big questions Drake's step, what does digs do
- 12:43Speaker 8: for the offense? And are the tackle position is that
- 12:45Speaker 8: settled on the offensive side of the ball. Are Morgan
- 12:47Speaker 8: Moses and Will Campbell going to be enough of an
- 12:50Speaker 8: answer to protect Drake, to protect the edges, and as
- 12:53Speaker 8: we said, Matt Crosby right out of the shoot. So
- 12:55Speaker 8: it's it's going to be challenging right from the get go.
- 12:58Speaker 8: But those are my three big kind of ques lessons
- 13:00Speaker 8: just for this offense yet going.
- 13:02Speaker 4: It's really you know, with training camp, especially early in camp,
- 13:05Speaker 4: it's really hard to say, oh, this player is going
- 13:08Speaker 4: to have a good season. You just don't know. But
- 13:11Speaker 4: what I think we're going to be looking for is
- 13:12Speaker 4: how does a team look as a whole, how you know,
- 13:17Speaker 4: how would the offense look from a fluid standpoint? Is
- 13:21Speaker 4: it in rhythm? Is it you know, is there a
- 13:23Speaker 4: lot of stops and starts? Or is are things being
- 13:26Speaker 4: run efficiently? That's a good one for hid That's what
- 13:30Speaker 4: you're you're kind of looking for early.
- 13:32Speaker 5: Because it's not like you have to break down, you know.
- 13:35Speaker 5: Evan does a great job of sort of recognizing some
- 13:37Speaker 5: of the route schemes that they're in, the concepts that
- 13:40Speaker 5: they're doing, and you don't need necessarily to have that
- 13:44Speaker 5: to be able to say you could tell last year
- 13:48Speaker 5: and the year before that, the offense was going to
- 13:51Speaker 5: struggle based on what you saw it, just like the
- 13:54Speaker 5: fits and starts that Fred's talking about, the constant fall starts,
- 13:58Speaker 5: the sloppiness, the guys being you know, aligned, you know,
- 14:01Speaker 5: properly before the snap, not to mention their inability to
- 14:05Speaker 5: get open, which was visible to even the most layman
- 14:09Speaker 5: football watcher like me. So you could see these guys
- 14:11Speaker 5: are not separating. So if you see a change with
- 14:15Speaker 5: the discipline first and foremost in terms of false starts, alignment,
- 14:19Speaker 5: you know, timings, crisp nature of running the plays, and
- 14:24Speaker 5: then some ability to actually throw it and catch it
- 14:28Speaker 5: on a more consistent basis, that will be an improvement
- 14:31Speaker 5: because you've seen that the last couple of years in camp,
- 14:35Speaker 5: even when it's not overly competitive, you can see the
- 14:38Speaker 5: guys having trouble uncovering and we'll know it if you
- 14:42Speaker 5: see it.
- 14:42Speaker 8: What was the camp progression like for you guys watching
- 14:45Speaker 8: in the heyday of Brady?
- 14:46Speaker 6: I mean, were you watching these things surgical? I mean
- 14:49Speaker 6: was it? Did the defense punch back a lot? Like?
- 14:51Speaker 2: Was there?
- 14:52Speaker 6: You know what I mean?
- 14:52Speaker 5: Was there were they were very competitive? Yeah, but they
- 14:55Speaker 5: would be chirping. You know this legendary stories that I'm
- 14:58Speaker 5: sure you've heard a million in times of how like
- 15:01Speaker 5: Rabel was one of them, Rodney Harrison, ty Law. Those
- 15:06Speaker 5: guys used to really give Brady a hard time, and
- 15:08Speaker 5: Brady relished lighting him up.
- 15:11Speaker 4: Now now it was surgical. Now there would be stretches
- 15:14Speaker 4: where the defense would start having the edge and then
- 15:16Speaker 4: Brady getting mad and it would be time for him
- 15:19Speaker 4: to come out. He would refuse to come out because
- 15:22Speaker 4: he wanted to keep getting his reps to to make good.
- 15:26Speaker 4: That happened a few times, but most of the time
- 15:28Speaker 4: the ball rarely hit the ground.
- 15:29Speaker 6: Now, Fred's right, I mean that's general general terms. It
- 15:33Speaker 6: was surgical, no rehuddles, no lineup wrongs.
- 15:36Speaker 5: Almost almost never that yeah, because Brady wouldn't even make
- 15:39Speaker 5: false starts. Yes, like false starts happened, not like they
- 15:42Speaker 5: did last year.
- 15:43Speaker 6: That was that was a typical last year.
- 15:45Speaker 5: But they had plenty of guys, plenty of offensive linemen
- 15:49Speaker 5: taking laps for false starts in you know, the height
- 15:51Speaker 5: of the dynasty. But one thing that always stuck out
- 15:55Speaker 5: to me too is you know, like sometimes you get
- 15:58Speaker 5: some protection in camp and they're not able to get
- 16:03Speaker 5: the play and Brady would get very frustrated when he
- 16:05Speaker 5: wasn't able to get the timing of a playoff because
- 16:07Speaker 5: there was a guy in his face. And remember the
- 16:09Speaker 5: day you got really mad at the offensive line. He
- 16:10Speaker 5: yelled at them and was like calling him names and
- 16:13Speaker 5: stuff and cope. And once when they started like bickering back,
- 16:16Speaker 5: and he's like calling Fred in the semantic coalkerment, well,
- 16:20Speaker 5: you know, to tie that stuff a little bit.
- 16:22Speaker 8: To Fortune Foxboro, I caught a clip on from Felger
- 16:25Speaker 8: and Mass that I thought was a good point from
- 16:27Speaker 8: from Felger, and I noticed it too, Rabel kind of
- 16:30Speaker 8: pushing Drake May to be forceful to you know, have
- 16:34Speaker 8: that kind of presence. And I think you look at
- 16:36Speaker 8: Drake May we talk about what step is he going
- 16:38Speaker 8: to take? You lose track of you know, he's like
- 16:40Speaker 8: a twenty two to twenty three year old kid right
- 16:42Speaker 8: now and having to kind of command that Brady had,
- 16:45Speaker 8: of course developed and earned respect by winning Super Bowls,
- 16:48Speaker 8: but being able to hold his guys accountable. And I
- 16:51Speaker 8: think that's something that Mike Vrabel, you know, did himself
- 16:54Speaker 8: on the defense. But I saw in Fortune Foxborough him
- 16:57Speaker 8: pushing Drake to take those steps, and those aren't the
- 17:00Speaker 8: steps that we talk about. We talk about cutting down
- 17:01Speaker 8: interceptions and being good in you know, in the red
- 17:04Speaker 8: zone and in crunch time, but really growing as a
- 17:07Speaker 8: leader and growing in command of the team and being
- 17:09Speaker 8: the guy that demands that the that the offense is
- 17:13Speaker 8: performing at a certain level. I mean, I think that's
- 17:15Speaker 8: a big, big part of Drake's development and I.
- 17:18Speaker 6: Just you know, seeing and Felger.
- 17:20Speaker 8: Felger tied it directly to you know, that being Vrabel
- 17:22Speaker 8: having such a big hand in Drake's development. Again, we
- 17:26Speaker 8: talk a lot about Josh's development and the offense and
- 17:28Speaker 8: him grasping what might be more on his plate, having
- 17:31Speaker 8: to make calls to the line and those things. But
- 17:33Speaker 8: I think the impact that Rabel can have of you know,
- 17:36Speaker 8: really just putting a chip a little bit on drakes shoulder,
- 17:38Speaker 8: like you said, well, Brady, like demanding that it's perfection.
- 17:41Speaker 6: And jobol Pepper's favorite mind. You know, you chase perfection,
- 17:44Speaker 6: but you end up in greatness. Hopefully.
- 17:45Speaker 8: That's what we see in camp too, is that Drake
- 17:47Speaker 8: taking command and you know, calling guys out things that.
- 17:50Speaker 6: Are wrong, you know, like that's where Brady was exceptionalized.
- 17:53Speaker 4: There was one line that Rabel said. It might have
- 17:57Speaker 4: been at a press conference, but it was then forged
- 18:00Speaker 4: where he says, you know, we need talking about Drake May.
- 18:03Speaker 4: I need to encourage him. You would never hear Belichick
- 18:06Speaker 4: saying that about any quarter man. You know, Like, I
- 18:09Speaker 4: think Rabel in his mind the way he wants to coach,
- 18:12Speaker 4: he's going to be tough. But I think with a
- 18:14Speaker 4: young guy like that, and he mentions it, he's twenty two,
- 18:17Speaker 4: you know, he's young, Like you need to encourage him.
- 18:21Speaker 4: You need to accentuate when he does it right and
- 18:24Speaker 4: make sure that you're you're acknowledging, yes, you did it right,
- 18:27Speaker 4: good job, you know, as a kid, right, yeah, I think, yeah.
- 18:30Speaker 8: At twenty two, seem when I was twenty two, I'm like,
- 18:32Speaker 8: I'm like now, it's like you're still a baby, and
- 18:34Speaker 8: you know, working around NFL players and the expectations and
- 18:38Speaker 8: the pressure that's on these guys. It's it's under talked
- 18:41Speaker 8: about aspect of Drake that hopefully Brabel has impacted.
- 18:44Speaker 4: So tomorrow, tomorrow we will be out there live with Camp.
- 18:49Speaker 4: Practice starts about ten fifteen or so. We'll be on
- 18:53Speaker 4: air probably nine thirty because Rabel will have a press conference.
- 18:56Speaker 4: We'll cover that live and then we'll go into Prectice
- 19:00Speaker 4: and we'll show you everything we're allowed to show you live.
- 19:04Speaker 4: So make sure you're up, make sure you've got your
- 19:08Speaker 4: laptop warmed up, because we'll be streaming everything we can tomorrow, uh,
- 19:13Speaker 4: starting at uh around you know, nine thirty, nine fifteen, Yeah,
- 19:18Speaker 4: because Rabel's at nine thirty, so we'll be on air
- 19:21Speaker 4: nine to fifteen and we'll do Vrabel. We'll start talking
- 19:24Speaker 4: about the arrivals. We'll yeah, so we'll have all of
- 19:28Speaker 4: that tomorrow, So make sure you're you're with us.
- 19:32Speaker 6: Where are we sitting from?
- 19:32Speaker 4: Where?
- 19:33Speaker 9: Where's our perch?
- 19:33Speaker 6: Are we still up on that we were for ot.
- 19:35Speaker 4: We're a little lower well yeah, that spot in that
- 19:39Speaker 4: new spot?
- 19:39Speaker 8: Yeah, okay, yep, make sure and we'll do uh, we'll
- 19:42Speaker 8: do the wrap ups after each of the practices, so
- 19:44Speaker 8: if you aren't able to watch live, then we'll have
- 19:46Speaker 8: a quick ten minute And.
- 19:47Speaker 5: I just want to I just want to thank Mike
- 19:49Speaker 5: for allowing me to be on the Training Camp podcast.
- 19:51Speaker 6: Mike do so experience. We'll see about that, Paul, We'll
- 19:54Speaker 6: see how goes.
- 19:54Speaker 5: Now, Mike and I and Evan, we'll do every day
- 20:00Speaker 5: just a podcast training camp practice review. It's the training
- 20:03Speaker 5: camp podcast.
- 20:04Speaker 8: You don't have to I mean, there'll be a couple
- 20:05Speaker 8: of days where PU will happen right on the heels
- 20:08Speaker 8: of a practice, so we'll come right in here and
- 20:10Speaker 8: all of us will talk about it.
- 20:11Speaker 5: The goal is to get them done as quickly as
- 20:13Speaker 5: close to the end of practice as we can. But
- 20:15Speaker 5: there will be days probably that we're doing our regular
- 20:18Speaker 5: PU shows that we'll have to we probably won't have
- 20:20Speaker 5: time to do it before.
- 20:22Speaker 6: That's a good idea. I'm gonna put that in there. Yeah,
- 20:23Speaker 6: as fast as we can. Good good note, good note.
- 20:26Speaker 4: We do have people writing in.
- 20:28Speaker 5: And I'm just glad that you allowed me to be
- 20:30Speaker 5: on your show.
- 20:30Speaker 12: Have you seen any of these schedules that are circulating
- 20:32Speaker 12: with a little inside baseball for everybody? You know, all
- 20:36Speaker 12: of a sudden you are getting these schedules, You know, things,
- 20:41Speaker 12: just take things to expect during camp. Well, you know
- 20:44Speaker 12: PU live PU show on opening day and might do
- 20:47Speaker 12: so podcast after the show.
- 20:49Speaker 4: What are you going to be some friends?
- 20:52Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 20:53Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 20:53Speaker 8: I thought been formally asked yet, so maybe I got
- 20:56Speaker 8: them waiting.
- 20:57Speaker 6: I got them too excited. Maybe so I'm not I'm
- 20:59Speaker 6: not a well maybe they don't.
- 21:00Speaker 4: Need it, which is fine, but like you know, if
- 21:02Speaker 4: they do, they should at least.
- 21:04Speaker 6: Usually these things happen, They're like, hey, are you get
- 21:06Speaker 6: tomorrow to come down? And so I don't know. I
- 21:08Speaker 6: think there might be new stuff going on.
- 21:09Speaker 4: So we do have people writing in about Forge and Foxborough.
- 21:12Speaker 4: Ellen Wisconsin thought episode two was fantastic, especially with the
- 21:15Speaker 4: limited amount of football activities between the draft and release.
- 21:18Speaker 4: I do have a one big criticism. No, Paul, if
- 21:22Speaker 4: you've got a star, I use them.
- 21:23Speaker 6: I'm sorry I did.
- 21:26Speaker 5: I did issue an apology of public apology last week
- 21:30Speaker 5: for not being available for that. I was on vacation
- 21:32Speaker 5: when they needed me and just didn't work out.
- 21:35Speaker 6: I apologize for that. But Mike was on. They tried.
- 21:38Speaker 6: Mike was on talking about what happens in coaches meetings.
- 21:41Speaker 6: That's right. I mean, who better to so many.
- 21:43Speaker 5: Who better to give you insight into what goes on?
- 21:45Speaker 6: And to coaches me Mike do so.
- 21:47Speaker 4: Uh, you know, we talk hockey. Who's this? Voodoo? Writes
- 21:53Speaker 4: in Loved episode two, incorporating players from the early Dynasty
- 21:57Speaker 4: era and focusing on a specific unit of the team
- 21:59Speaker 4: was a good idea, as I liked hearing about the
- 22:02Speaker 4: offensive line operation with the new coaches now and how
- 22:05Speaker 4: the early two thousands guys like and Drewsey shared their
- 22:08Speaker 4: takes on what it's like to play for the Patriots.
- 22:10Speaker 4: Also nice to see Scars still around the building once
- 22:13Speaker 4: in a while and speaking to the players. My only
- 22:15Speaker 4: qualm would be I wish it was longer because I
- 22:18Speaker 4: love it so much. It's nice to see this new
- 22:21Speaker 4: era incorporate new ideas for the fans to experience. Also
- 22:24Speaker 4: a question, what does a successful stat line look like
- 22:28Speaker 4: this season for may Will Campbell and Stefan Diggs.
- 22:32Speaker 8: Will Campbell, I think it's easy. Seventeen starts at left
- 22:35Speaker 8: tackle and no sex. You know, yeah, well yeah, I
- 22:37Speaker 8: mean Will jump off from there. But I think that's
- 22:39Speaker 8: the best. I think seventeen starts start in every game.
- 22:41Speaker 5: That's a good one because if he's really a train wreck,
- 22:44Speaker 5: he's probably not going to stay in there.
- 22:46Speaker 6: You know, there'll be.
- 22:47Speaker 5: Some bumps and bruises along the way, But I think
- 22:50Speaker 5: that's a good one for him. Digs to me, I
- 22:55Speaker 5: mean I don't know specifics, but one hundred catches, twelve
- 22:59Speaker 5: hundred yards.
- 23:00Speaker 8: Break a thousand year. I mean, he breaks a thousand years.
- 23:02Speaker 8: Give me, I need more than a thousand year. Yes,
- 23:04Speaker 8: just pedestrian. That's the you know, the goal of just
- 23:08Speaker 8: get over that hump.
- 23:09Speaker 5: And especially in light of the fact that he is
- 23:12Speaker 5: the I think he's going to dominate the targets and
- 23:16Speaker 5: whatnot because he's the guy. He's not, you know, like
- 23:19Speaker 5: Nico Collins was with him in Houston last year, so
- 23:22Speaker 5: his numbers were down for him, but Nico Collins is
- 23:25Speaker 5: a legit number one guy on the outside.
- 23:28Speaker 6: They don't have that here.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Somebody online did a compilation of Will Campbell quotes, mostly
- 23:34Speaker 4: from college, and he had one that said, you know,
- 23:37Speaker 4: if you're a defensive lineman and your stat line is
- 23:40Speaker 4: one sack of game, you're doing really well. But if
- 23:42Speaker 4: you're a tackle and it's one sack of game, you're cut.
- 23:45Speaker 4: You know, like he he says, all the right, he's.
- 23:49Speaker 6: Got the mentality question.
- 23:50Speaker 8: You know, he just oozed his offensive lineman from the
- 23:54Speaker 8: moment they drafted him. Hopefully he solves that problem for
- 23:57Speaker 8: the next ten years and we don't have to come
- 23:58Speaker 8: in here and talk about we have no tackles.
- 24:01Speaker 6: It is nice, that is true. I never really thought
- 24:03Speaker 6: of it that way.
- 24:04Speaker 5: But a defensive end the ends of the season with
- 24:06Speaker 5: seventeen sacks is an all pro, right, And an offensive
- 24:10Speaker 5: tackle that allowed seventeen sacks is not an all pro.
- 24:13Speaker 6: Hey, No, he's probably.
- 24:14Speaker 4: Out of the league, right Sean and Freeland, Pennsylvania. I'm
- 24:19Speaker 4: glad we're talking football in that jaws. Okay, we can
- 24:22Speaker 4: go to Charles if you want.
- 24:22Speaker 6: We just were talking.
- 24:24Speaker 4: The Forge and Fox for part two was excellent. That
- 24:26Speaker 4: Dante scernekia a part was amazing. Keep up the Great Way.
- 24:28Speaker 4: If there was one critique too much Julian Edelman, Sorry
- 24:32Speaker 4: to me, he's the most overrated Patriot of all time.
- 24:36Speaker 4: And also he seems to have a knack of following
- 24:38Speaker 4: a mike he didn't like. But I digress. What does
- 24:41Speaker 4: that mean?
- 24:42Speaker 6: He likes to talk? He likes to hear himself talk.
- 24:45Speaker 4: Also, you have something to say about No, probably nothing.
- 24:48Speaker 5: I probably should say.
- 24:49Speaker 4: What do you give Jalen Polk percentage change to make
- 24:54Speaker 4: the team? So chance to make the chance to make
- 24:57Speaker 4: the team.
- 24:58Speaker 6: I'm I'm on Polk.
- 24:59Speaker 8: I'm gonna I might go down with that ship, but
- 25:02Speaker 8: I'm gonna give him a better than fifty.
- 25:04Speaker 6: Percent chance, which I don't think anyone else would do.
- 25:06Speaker 6: I would agree.
- 25:07Speaker 5: I think at this point it would be somewhat surprising
- 25:10Speaker 5: if he made the team. I mean, not stunning, but
- 25:14Speaker 5: I think Mike is right. I think most people I've
- 25:16Speaker 5: seen a handful of projections already, including from one who
- 25:20Speaker 5: I value greatly in Mike Reese, had one I think today,
- 25:24Speaker 5: and did not have Jalen him on.
- 25:26Speaker 6: I wonder about Kendrick Bourne.
- 25:27Speaker 8: I just we've had him here for a while. We've
- 25:30Speaker 8: seen him have spurts of good production. His first year
- 25:33Speaker 8: year productive. Two years ago when he got hurt, he
- 25:35Speaker 8: was having a pretty good season. I just wonder, is
- 25:38Speaker 8: that run its course? Is he still on the upswing?
- 25:41Speaker 5: Have we kind of not on by the stage of
- 25:43Speaker 5: his career? The question would be do they feel like
- 25:46Speaker 5: they have enough in some of you know, does your
- 25:49Speaker 5: guy wrestle, you know, a roll away from him?
- 25:53Speaker 6: Does Jalen Polk is he you know?
- 25:55Speaker 5: Is he better than Kendrick Bourne or Jay Von Baker?
- 26:00Speaker 5: Is he better than Kendrick Bourne? Dare I say, Efton Chisholm,
- 26:04Speaker 5: is you know I mean, I think that's a lock
- 26:06Speaker 5: that he's not better than Bourne's not better than him.
- 26:09Speaker 6: I mean, I wouldn't even.
- 26:11Speaker 8: Not to oversimplify it, but that's kind of the root
- 26:13Speaker 8: of it for me. Maybe it is but Polk versus
- 26:15Speaker 8: Born and Born a little more probably little more speed,
- 26:19Speaker 8: a little more versatility, moveing around, handed off to him,
- 26:22Speaker 8: that kind of stuff. But Polk a little bit bigger,
- 26:25Speaker 8: you know, maybe a little stronger.
- 26:26Speaker 6: I'm not sure. It's it's what's their preference. How are
- 26:29Speaker 6: they going to see the team?
- 26:30Speaker 5: You can make a very strong argument that you should
- 26:32Speaker 5: be keeping a guy like Jalen Polke over a guy
- 26:34Speaker 5: like Kendrick Bourne, not the least of which not one
- 26:37Speaker 5: that I like to use. But you can save I
- 26:41Speaker 5: don't know, six million dollars I think by letting go Born,
- 26:45Speaker 5: So I mean I don't care. Like to me, if
- 26:47Speaker 5: Born with the better player, I would keep I would
- 26:50Speaker 5: keep Born, But.
- 26:50Speaker 4: I think right now Bourne is the better player, don't you.
- 26:53Speaker 5: Yes, that's how I feel like. I think you could
- 26:56Speaker 5: make a strong argument for Mike's defense. Not that I
- 26:58Speaker 5: need to do four mic.
- 27:00Speaker 6: I like when you do because you do it better
- 27:01Speaker 6: than me.
- 27:01Speaker 5: So it's fun to listen, you take the young guy
- 27:03Speaker 5: who still has upside.
- 27:04Speaker 6: I think Bourne is a finished product. He is what
- 27:06Speaker 6: he is.
- 27:06Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, and he might be better than Polk right
- 27:09Speaker 5: right now today, but maybe in November that's not the
- 27:12Speaker 5: case anymore.
- 27:13Speaker 6: If it works out the way Mike thinks and hopes
- 27:15Speaker 6: it does.
- 27:15Speaker 8: I'm interested more on Polk is recovering from surgery, so
- 27:18Speaker 8: was limited during the spring? Is he limited when we
- 27:20Speaker 8: get out there? Does he get opportunities with Drake? May
- 27:24Speaker 8: quote from Brabel that stood out to me this year
- 27:26Speaker 8: this spring was quarterbacks tell you pretty quick who they like.
- 27:28Speaker 8: It's who they throw the ball to. And last summer
- 27:31Speaker 8: there's really no debate Drake like Jalen Polk. He threw
- 27:33Speaker 8: the ball to him a lot. So does he get
- 27:35Speaker 8: the is he healthy? Does he get the opportunity to
- 27:38Speaker 8: play with Drake and that first offense? And does he
- 27:40Speaker 8: continue to get targeted like that? If those things start
- 27:42Speaker 8: to line up, then you say maybe he can bounce back.
- 27:46Speaker 6: If he's buried on the depth chart.
- 27:48Speaker 8: Maybe it takes him a little while to actually get
- 27:49Speaker 8: the red jersey off, and then he's not even getting
- 27:52Speaker 8: the reps with Drake.
- 27:53Speaker 6: You know, then it's headed in the different direction.
- 27:55Speaker 5: I agree that it won't be that hard to figure out.
- 27:58Speaker 5: I'm not telling you you're going to get it right
- 28:00Speaker 5: in terms of your roster projection. I get these six
- 28:02Speaker 5: receivers making all these seven receivers making it, and you're
- 28:05Speaker 5: going to be right. But you will be able to
- 28:07Speaker 5: tell if Polk is not part of it, because he
- 28:10Speaker 5: was an active part of camp last year, like we
- 28:12Speaker 5: I said, and if he's not this year, I would
- 28:15Speaker 5: say the writing's on the wall. I would argue that
- 28:18Speaker 5: Booty sort of wrestled those kinds of opportunities away from
- 28:22Speaker 5: Polk last year because Booty was not, for sure a
- 28:25Speaker 5: highly targeted guy throughout camp until very late he started
- 28:29Speaker 5: to come on and as the season began.
- 28:32Speaker 6: I think the game targets are matter.
- 28:34Speaker 5: Polk started here and Booty started here, and by the
- 28:36Speaker 5: middle of September they had switched spots.
- 28:38Speaker 8: That's right for sure, for sure, and that's I mean,
- 28:40Speaker 8: that's what it's all about. Gets to the season, get
- 28:42Speaker 8: the targets.
- 28:43Speaker 4: While I'm thinking about it, I want to let people
- 28:46Speaker 4: know about this special raffle, which is pretty cool. You
- 28:50Speaker 4: can enter the Patriots road Trip Raffle for your chance
- 28:53Speaker 4: to travel to New Orleans as the Patriots take on
- 28:56Speaker 4: the Saints October twelfth. One lucky fan receive two tickets
- 29:01Speaker 4: on a private charter to the game. Tickets to the game,
- 29:04Speaker 4: of course, hotel, accommodations, and much more.
- 29:08Speaker 13: So.
- 29:08Speaker 4: You can enter for a chance to win for just
- 29:10Speaker 4: ten bucks. All your proceeds benefit the Patriots Foundation, the
- 29:14Speaker 4: Patriots Charitable Foundation. UH to purchase your tickets, go to
- 29:19Speaker 4: Patriots dot com slash community. So that's pretty cool. Travel
- 29:24Speaker 4: on the team plane. I assume they say a private
- 29:27Speaker 4: charter unless they're gonna have a second charter, which is possibility.
- 29:31Speaker 4: But you're gonna go privately. You're not gonna go commercial
- 29:33Speaker 4: to the game in New Orleans, which we've been to
- 29:37Speaker 4: New Orleans many times for games. It's probably one of
- 29:39Speaker 4: the best cities for a football game because everything is walkable.
- 29:43Speaker 5: I don't think Mike.
- 29:43Speaker 6: Isn't Is that where one of those Super Bowls was played?
- 29:46Speaker 4: Oh yeah, two of them? Never not once, Yeah, watch
- 29:50Speaker 4: it on TV though, many of them, but two that
- 29:52Speaker 4: we've been involved in.
- 29:54Speaker 6: One for me, oh yeah.
- 29:55Speaker 4: But it's a great place to watch a Super Bowl.
- 29:57Speaker 6: I was a fan at the other and.
- 30:00Speaker 5: You were like burning the midnight oil at that ninety
- 30:02Speaker 5: six one right, yeah, oh yeah yeah, talking about it
- 30:06Speaker 5: a lot of members.
- 30:07Speaker 6: I was fanboy. I had my jew jersey on in
- 30:09Speaker 6: the stands on a lot.
- 30:10Speaker 4: Of memories at that game, which we'll get into some
- 30:13Speaker 4: other time. But so go to patries dot com slash
- 30:16Speaker 4: community ten bucks. All the money goes to charity, uh
- 30:20Speaker 4: and you can win tickets to the game to New
- 30:23Speaker 4: Orleans Private the whole thing, the and the more probably
- 30:29Speaker 4: includes the sideline pass before the game to get down there.
- 30:32Speaker 4: So it's a good take for ten bucks.
- 30:35Speaker 6: Good deal, that was great, buy a ticket.
- 30:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 30:37Speaker 8: I also I can officially announce I will be speaking
- 30:40Speaker 8: before practice.
- 30:42Speaker 6: I just get that twelve nineteen. Now, we just got
- 30:44Speaker 6: the emails. So if you're gonna come Thursday, yeah, we'll
- 30:47Speaker 6: be We'll be out there. Maybe there's no better hype
- 30:49Speaker 6: man in the business than Mike do so gets you
- 30:52Speaker 6: fired up.
- 30:52Speaker 4: Do you know who you'll be with.
- 30:53Speaker 6: Put your hands, yes, I think for Mike the Salt.
- 30:58Speaker 6: So it'll be fun. I love camp, you know. It's
- 31:02Speaker 6: like Paul always says, like the first day, like this
- 31:03Speaker 6: is great the first.
- 31:04Speaker 8: Day, and then like by tomorrow afternoon, this I'll be
- 31:06Speaker 8: like the pads, let's get pads. And then it'd be
- 31:08Speaker 8: like the third paths practice, the joint, the joint, the
- 31:11Speaker 8: joint practice.
- 31:13Speaker 5: You always kind of look into what's next, but it
- 31:15Speaker 5: and once that joint practice comes and goes, then you're
- 31:18Speaker 5: just like, just get me, just get me a week. Well,
- 31:19Speaker 5: that's that's maybe the biggest thing I've taken away is
- 31:22Speaker 5: because as a back in the early days when I
- 31:24Speaker 5: was a fan, I would go to those practices that
- 31:25Speaker 5: were open to the public and watching you get the
- 31:27Speaker 5: atmosphere and everything.
- 31:28Speaker 6: But what you get introduced to are the late August
- 31:30Speaker 6: practice that.
- 31:31Speaker 8: Aren't open to the public but are open to the media.
- 31:34Speaker 8: And sometimes it's like watching paint dry. Paint dry there.
- 31:38Speaker 5: Now, if they're they're into it, they're slowan you know
- 31:40Speaker 5: how Like I think one of the shows recently, someone
- 31:43Speaker 5: wrote in and was saying how much quicker and faster
- 31:46Speaker 5: Romandre Stevenson looked and I said, no, your eyes aren't
- 31:49Speaker 5: deceiving you. They are quicker and faster. Now right now
- 31:53Speaker 5: they will hit the ground and look a step faster
- 31:57Speaker 5: than the last time you saw them because they are
- 32:00Speaker 5: because they're not worn down. Once you get to what
- 32:03Speaker 5: Mike is talking about, it's like they played a couple
- 32:05Speaker 5: of preseason games.
- 32:06Speaker 6: They really just want the seasons to start.
- 32:07Speaker 5: They're dragging, they're slowing down, and it's just a slog.
- 32:12Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 32:13Speaker 8: I mean, although they able Tod talk about the walkthrough today,
- 32:15Speaker 8: and you know, from their perspective, the walkthroughs, those slower
- 32:19Speaker 8: pace allow them to incorporate more players. They can go
- 32:22Speaker 8: two fields offense defense, so you know, you have whatever
- 32:25Speaker 8: the math is, forty four guys all out there at once,
- 32:27Speaker 8: you know, So it's a little bit helpful for them,
- 32:30Speaker 8: but you know, for us trying to read between the
- 32:32Speaker 8: lines and understand what they're trying to install, you know,
- 32:34Speaker 8: without the pace.
- 32:35Speaker 6: It's it's hard to do.
- 32:37Speaker 8: And rab Will pointed out, you know, we all want
- 32:38Speaker 8: to get to the point where you're in pads. You
- 32:41Speaker 8: got to fight with a guy, then you got to disengage,
- 32:44Speaker 8: you got to chase the ball, then you got to
- 32:45Speaker 8: run back to the huddle and do it again, and
- 32:47Speaker 8: do it again. Really laying out my experience playing football,
- 32:50Speaker 8: which was it's just so chaotic. It's not like watching
- 32:52Speaker 8: on TV. We're like, okay, second and eight it's like chaos,
- 32:55Speaker 8: and then you're like, I don't even know what the
- 32:57Speaker 8: down at distances sometimes you're just like fright, run to
- 32:59Speaker 8: the huddle.
- 33:00Speaker 5: Fight And Fred knows this because he was informed about
- 33:03Speaker 5: it by Bruce Armstrong. But do you know how like
- 33:05Speaker 5: that time between the plays and you're always like it
- 33:07Speaker 5: feels like when you're watching a game, oh it's forever. Yeah,
- 33:10Speaker 5: oh my god, when you're playing and this is at
- 33:13Speaker 5: such a low let like high school level, like we
- 33:16Speaker 5: wanted to just end it.
- 33:18Speaker 6: What is the situations that like you don't even.
- 33:21Speaker 5: Know I know, and they're just like certainly scrambled to
- 33:23Speaker 5: the huddle. You think you're going to get a delay
- 33:25Speaker 5: of game every play, I mean maybe not just a
- 33:27Speaker 5: quarterback talking. I always felt like we were on the
- 33:29Speaker 5: verge of getting That's what I was.
- 33:30Speaker 8: Gonna ask you, because I was doing it as an
- 33:32Speaker 8: offensive lineman, which is it's different. You're a lot of
- 33:35Speaker 8: fighting and the wide receivers they're sprinting.
- 33:38Speaker 6: So I wonder.
- 33:39Speaker 8: I always thought the quarterback, well, he must know, like
- 33:41Speaker 8: he's got a sense of calm, But to hear Paul
- 33:42Speaker 8: talk about it, it's being just as chaotic for you trying.
- 33:45Speaker 6: To get the calls high school, like, oh yeah, what
- 33:47Speaker 6: did you just do? Try to get the call run
- 33:50Speaker 6: over the side right right right now.
- 33:54Speaker 5: For us, it was easy because it was the same
- 33:55Speaker 5: play every play, Power I right, twenty two lead until
- 33:59Speaker 5: we really switched it up up and when power I
- 34:00Speaker 5: left twenty three lead, you go to the other side.
- 34:03Speaker 5: Once in a while, I would say it was on
- 34:04Speaker 5: two and then right, I know, I know.
- 34:08Speaker 6: I used to like first sound. First sound was great
- 34:10Speaker 6: and like easy.
- 34:11Speaker 5: First sound was like short yard and shift. It was
- 34:14Speaker 5: like a quarterback sneak. You know, you just get under
- 34:16Speaker 5: it and it go. And then they would snap the
- 34:18Speaker 5: ball and no one will be ready. Those were good
- 34:20Speaker 5: because I would get two yards without getting hits.
- 34:22Speaker 6: That always it the quarterbacks discretion. What the snap is on?
- 34:25Speaker 6: Is that?
- 34:25Speaker 8: I mean for your experience, like I have a game
- 34:27Speaker 8: time I ready did. There was never the coach was never.
- 34:29Speaker 5: Every once in a while the coach would say, hey,
- 34:31Speaker 5: you know, they're they're being aggressive. You know, they would
- 34:35Speaker 5: see stuff that maybe you didn't see, and they would say,
- 34:37Speaker 5: you know, just switch it up. Call this one on too,
- 34:39Speaker 5: you're gonna get a free five yards.
- 34:41Speaker 6: And it never worked. That's what I tell you. Anytime
- 34:44Speaker 6: you set it up, it never works.
- 34:45Speaker 8: So I tell Campbell in flag football because fourth down
- 34:47Speaker 8: in flag football, when it's like they're gonna blitz right now,
- 34:50Speaker 8: like just nobody moved and yell hot hut twice, I
- 34:54Speaker 8: guarantee you know.
- 34:55Speaker 6: They still can't see the grass. But though I guess
- 34:57Speaker 6: to reflection.
- 34:57Speaker 4: Right pass five hundred, it is the hotline eight five
- 35:01Speaker 4: five Pats five hundred. Let's get to the phones, because
- 35:05Speaker 4: you know we have to save time for the guess
- 35:07Speaker 4: the Patriots caller later in the show looking forward that
- 35:14Speaker 4: I'm a little disappointed. There's only I'm only disappointed there's
- 35:17Speaker 4: only ten. I was hoping there'd be more. More. We'll
- 35:21Speaker 4: have to do another round.
- 35:22Speaker 5: We've lost a lot of regulars, so I'm not just
- 35:24Speaker 5: people passing away or no, we have theory.
- 35:29Speaker 4: We haven't memorials where we show the pictures and you
- 35:33Speaker 4: know the class and the people that you.
- 35:35Speaker 2: Know, well, you'll never know.
- 35:37Speaker 8: That's the thing about like social media, people that you
- 35:40Speaker 8: and that one hit, that one hit.
- 35:43Speaker 4: Caller on the one. All right, let's get to the phones.
- 35:48Speaker 4: We'll start off. Let's go down to Connecticut. We'll start
- 35:51Speaker 4: with Nate. What's up, Nate?
- 35:53Speaker 6: Nate back from camp?
- 35:56Speaker 13: Yeah, how are you good?
- 35:58Speaker 6: Good hook up?
- 36:03Speaker 4: I don't know, it doesn't matter what what. I'm sorry, Nate,
- 36:09Speaker 4: Well go ahead.
- 36:09Speaker 13: Sorry, No, you're good.
- 36:11Speaker 7: My question is about the kickers. So is the competition
- 36:17Speaker 7: between Andy Boorgolis and John Parker Romo sort of gonna
- 36:21Speaker 7: be like the Nick Folks cad Island situation where you
- 36:24Speaker 7: have a rookie that you drafted. It's sort of like
- 36:27Speaker 7: a veteran. In my opinion, I feel like Andy might
- 36:32Speaker 7: have the leg up based on his career in Florida,
- 36:37Speaker 7: and John Parker Romo has sort of been like a
- 36:39Speaker 7: practice blog guy, hasn't really seen the field that much.
- 36:43Speaker 7: But yeah, thanks good.
- 36:44Speaker 4: Okay, I mean I don't really has the lego.
- 36:48Speaker 6: Yeah he better. I think Parker Romo.
- 36:50Speaker 4: Has said that's what you did.
- 36:54Speaker 8: It's he's just enough of an NFL experienced kicker to
- 36:57Speaker 8: provide some competition, somebody to go up against. But if
- 37:01Speaker 8: Borigalis doesn't win this, it's you spend a draft pick
- 37:04Speaker 8: on it.
- 37:05Speaker 6: I mean, you know, he needs to be the.
- 37:06Speaker 4: Guy you need to kickers in camp now. So, but
- 37:10Speaker 4: I would give the job to Borrialis if it was
- 37:13Speaker 4: they were choosing to Alora Borealis.
- 37:15Speaker 5: Is it.
- 37:19Speaker 6: You pronounced the G? I think so?
- 37:21Speaker 5: No, I'm asking, yeah, I think so.
- 37:23Speaker 6: I mean, I know I come across as and know
- 37:25Speaker 6: it all.
- 37:26Speaker 8: But I hate when you question like something I think
- 37:28Speaker 8: I know and then I'm like, do I know it?
- 37:30Speaker 6: I was asking, oh the G? The G is not silent.
- 37:33Speaker 6: I'm like, what I never heard, but.
- 37:34Speaker 9: A lot of people have.
- 37:35Speaker 6: Yeah, I hear it pronounced.
- 37:36Speaker 14: It be like Sam in North Carolina. I hate Sam.
- 37:47Speaker 11: I was just wanting to give flowers up and at
- 37:49Speaker 11: work ale while and been able to call me. But
- 37:53Speaker 11: the dynasty, the sound how to see. I love this
- 37:59Speaker 11: because that brought me back, like that was real nostalgia
- 38:02Speaker 11: for me, because that's when I started following the Patriots.
- 38:06Speaker 6: Thanks Tom, I appreciate it.
- 38:08Speaker 11: Just like my dad's a huge Steelers fan, so that's
- 38:11Speaker 11: when I started, like I started rooting for the Patriots
- 38:14Speaker 11: because they beat the Steelers and we're going beat them
- 38:16Speaker 11: for twenty years and go bat them again this year.
- 38:19Speaker 6: Thanks thanks for listening.
- 38:21Speaker 11: I know we need some help on the defensive line,
- 38:24Speaker 11: like Rustan Capasity. Why isn't net Judon like in a
- 38:29Speaker 11: Patriot's uniform. I mean he was great for the Patriots.
- 38:31Speaker 11: I don't know if it's that bad or fallout. I
- 38:33Speaker 11: don't know if we're gonna get trade Henderson like that
- 38:35Speaker 11: would be nice, But I'd like to see my guy
- 38:38Speaker 11: come back. What do you guys think.
- 38:40Speaker 4: I don't think so. I mean, yeah, he's off, but.
- 38:44Speaker 6: I had no interest in Judon.
- 38:45Speaker 4: No, No, he fell off and he didn't do much
- 38:50Speaker 4: down in Atlanta.
- 38:51Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean I think he fell off. I understand
- 38:55Speaker 8: what he's saying, though, because I've talked about Edgeedeff. I
- 38:57Speaker 8: also just wonder if he's the right kind of fit.
- 38:59Speaker 8: I mean, I see him as the kind of guy
- 39:02Speaker 8: that wants to stand up on the edge, and I
- 39:03Speaker 8: think you have Jennings and too Buyer two guys that
- 39:05Speaker 8: kind of do that, and there's questions about how exactly
- 39:07Speaker 8: do they fit. I want the young guy you bring
- 39:10Speaker 8: in for Juice in the pass Rush to be Braden Swinson.
- 39:12Speaker 8: I you know, I don't want to bring in old
- 39:14Speaker 8: Matt Judon. I get like, you know, he had a
- 39:16Speaker 8: good personality.
- 39:16Speaker 5: If Judeon was still productive, I would think differently because
- 39:20Speaker 5: I do think that he you know, he wants to
- 39:22Speaker 5: play like Harold Landry. He's going to be a stand
- 39:24Speaker 5: up guy in the edge and rush the passer and stuff.
- 39:25Speaker 5: But Fred's right. The last year he was with the Patriots,
- 39:28Speaker 5: who was banged up. I think he only played four games,
- 39:30Speaker 5: and then he did almost nothing in Atlanta last year.
- 39:34Speaker 5: I think he's clearly on the back nine. I think
- 39:37Speaker 5: the league is telling.
- 39:38Speaker 8: You he's got a gravity to him too that I
- 39:40Speaker 8: think Fabel wants to not have guys with gravity, right,
- 39:43Speaker 8: he wants to be the guy with gravity.
- 39:44Speaker 6: I don't want. Yeah, And I don't think that.
- 39:46Speaker 8: That would look pide Piper that that's your that's your
- 39:48Speaker 8: that would be the best word.
- 39:50Speaker 6: Piede Piper kind of guy. But you know, I loved
- 39:52Speaker 6: him when he was here.
- 39:52Speaker 8: I mean, God, if you didn't have Jude on like
- 39:54Speaker 8: twenty one to twenty two, twenty three, that was what
- 39:56Speaker 8: twenty three was here.
- 39:57Speaker 6: He didn't play.
- 39:57Speaker 5: I mean I give him credit those two years twenty
- 40:00Speaker 5: one and twenty two. I think you know, he played.
- 40:03Speaker 5: He played well for them. He gave them more than
- 40:05Speaker 5: I envisioned him giving them. I didn't think that that
- 40:09Speaker 5: was a great signing. And he was a good signing.
- 40:12Speaker 5: I but I just I think the time has passed
- 40:15Speaker 5: hard to believe.
- 40:15Speaker 8: You guys were like a year out from like that
- 40:17Speaker 8: whole debacle with him sitting in practice, and so.
- 40:20Speaker 5: I was thinking of that today and they were talking
- 40:22Speaker 5: to Michael Parsons. Yeah, they were talking about Michaeh. Parsons,
- 40:25Speaker 5: and I'm like, hello, what just happened last year? Same thing?
- 40:28Speaker 6: Yeah, you know Mayo like pleading with him.
- 40:31Speaker 8: It seems so long ago, so much has happened.
- 40:35Speaker 6: When Mayo was on that box.
- 40:37Speaker 5: Remember he was sitting on that box and Mayo was
- 40:39Speaker 5: spending all that time in front of everybody talking to him.
- 40:42Speaker 8: Yeah, it was a weird, weird situation sitting there like
- 40:45Speaker 8: shaking his.
- 40:45Speaker 4: Head, hey Evan, and then his congratulation has returned.
- 40:52Speaker 2: Practice, Evan has returned.
- 40:55Speaker 9: You were practice.
- 40:56Speaker 4: You're not supposed to be out there because Evan has
- 41:03Speaker 4: returned from getting married.
- 41:04Speaker 6: That's true.
- 41:06Speaker 4: So what was the mood? What was the mood? And
- 41:08Speaker 4: what did you see particularly on your winning night?
- 41:12Speaker 5: As he gives it a humble yeah, tell.
- 41:15Speaker 6: What I saw taking out Bobby Pins for about thirty.
- 41:17Speaker 9: Minutes Super Bowl ring style.
- 41:20Speaker 6: He's got the ring for now, and good you have
- 41:24Speaker 6: a real ring on.
- 41:25Speaker 9: Oh we were talking about anti rubber ring.
- 41:29Speaker 4: Well, it's like, listen, if you're working construction, I get it.
- 41:32Speaker 4: You know you want to have something on there to symbolize,
- 41:35Speaker 4: but you don't want something that's going to get caught.
- 41:37Speaker 5: If you never know, if you're going to be bench
- 41:38Speaker 5: pressing later in the day, like Eddie hard you might want.
- 41:41Speaker 4: To rub the ring, but like otherwise, just take off
- 41:44Speaker 4: your ring if you have to. The rubber ring is
- 41:46Speaker 4: such a hard o thing, I think.
- 41:48Speaker 6: Okay, yeah, so there, Yeah, you might want to send
- 41:52Speaker 6: that one back to Amazon.
- 41:53Speaker 9: I have both. I do have both, but both yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 41:57Speaker 9: Well the rubber ring is like twenty dollars.
- 41:59Speaker 4: No, no, why do you need that ring in the well?
- 42:03Speaker 9: Because like if we're you know, like we were on
- 42:05Speaker 9: Martha's Vineyard for our honeymoon, and we were hiking a
- 42:08Speaker 9: little bit on the beach a little bit, and like,
- 42:10Speaker 9: you know, you don't want to have like the expensive one.
- 42:13Speaker 5: Want any any women that happened to be around to
- 42:15Speaker 5: get the wrong idea?
- 42:16Speaker 4: Why do yeah, exactly why do.
- 42:17Speaker 9: You want you want me to take the ring off?
- 42:19Speaker 9: Lesson a week into our the ring wasn't coming off.
- 42:23Speaker 9: That was not the top melting. Maybe maybe in like
- 42:27Speaker 9: you know, a couple of years, I can get away
- 42:28Speaker 9: with taking the ring off.
- 42:29Speaker 4: I think right now it's glued okay.
- 42:31Speaker 9: But it was good. It was everything good, Everything went great.
- 42:35Speaker 4: I feel differently now or is it the same?
- 42:37Speaker 6: Uh?
- 42:39Speaker 9: Maybe a little bit. Honestly, I didn't think I was
- 42:41Speaker 9: going to because we already lived together and and everything,
- 42:43Speaker 9: so I didn't I didn't think that I was going
- 42:46Speaker 9: to necessarily, but it definitely you're locked in now. It
- 42:49Speaker 9: feels way more like.
- 42:51Speaker 4: You got the prenup.
- 42:53Speaker 9: Oh yeah, we want Yeah, you feel way more, way
- 42:57Speaker 9: more locked taps for what it was.
- 43:03Speaker 6: Barth involved at all in the prenup and any.
- 43:06Speaker 9: Yeah you get you get bars. No, No, we didn't
- 43:10Speaker 9: do wedding parties. You didn't do any now, we didn't
- 43:12Speaker 9: do any of that. Just too much stress, like and
- 43:15Speaker 9: you know, you know, drama and stuff like that. So
- 43:17Speaker 9: who gets picked and you know and all that crap.
- 43:20Speaker 4: That'd be funny if like he was your best man
- 43:22Speaker 4: you started bickering, like.
- 43:24Speaker 9: You know, it was definitely would have been possible. But
- 43:27Speaker 9: it was good.
- 43:29Speaker 5: So what question is technique? And you know to be like,
- 43:34Speaker 5: you're gonna lead with the left.
- 43:35Speaker 6: What are we doing? You got to be right hand.
- 43:37Speaker 9: He's a he's he's a very ball knower when it
- 43:41Speaker 9: comes to weddings, I'm sure is definitely not It's good
- 43:47Speaker 9: yea the long way, like, I have never taken two
- 43:52Speaker 9: consecutive weeks off from work since I started working, so
- 43:55Speaker 9: it felt weird. It was a long time, you know,
- 43:58Speaker 9: today was what I asked.
- 44:00Speaker 8: I was like, was just to just get whiplashed from
- 44:03Speaker 8: how quickly Evan went from the wedding to like back
- 44:05Speaker 8: to football.
- 44:06Speaker 9: Definitely, once we got home from Martha's vineyard, the realization
- 44:09Speaker 9: that it is football season is now here in our wedding.
- 44:14Speaker 9: Excitement from that has started to wear off a little bit.
- 44:17Speaker 9: We were like, oh, here we go, and Alex is here.
- 44:20Speaker 2: Yes, sorry to use the little girls room.
- 44:22Speaker 4: How close are you to getting married? Alex?
- 44:28Speaker 2: Where is your boyfriend?
- 44:29Speaker 6: What's going on?
- 44:32Speaker 9: I mean, that's not it.
- 44:33Speaker 6: That's to wait around, lock it.
- 44:35Speaker 9: Down and then keep it up.
- 44:42Speaker 4: You've talked about. I assume you're still going out with
- 44:45Speaker 4: the same guy that you've talked about, and yeah, actually
- 44:48Speaker 4: he's doing very well. So I would assume that eventually.
- 44:52Speaker 2: Right, you know, some real estate goals before that.
- 44:55Speaker 3: Some of my friends have told me their biggest regret
- 44:59Speaker 3: in life was having their wedding because now they have
- 45:02Speaker 3: a one year old and like a little condo and
- 45:04Speaker 3: they can't afford to buy a house. So maybe take
- 45:07Speaker 3: a page out of Evans book small civil ceremony.
- 45:11Speaker 4: Yeah, oh, listen, I'm up for that. You don't need
- 45:15Speaker 4: the big wedding. Just get you whatever you want, get married,
- 45:19Speaker 4: and then have a party time ranger.
- 45:23Speaker 6: Don't spend all whatever you want.
- 45:25Speaker 4: Spotify or twenty use it on a place to live,
- 45:30Speaker 4: don't use it on your wedding.
- 45:31Speaker 6: I couldn't agree, you know, especially now wedding preachy.
- 45:34Speaker 2: Yes, I am, and who these weddings are be seen now.
- 45:37Speaker 3: It's like seventy thousand to one hundred thousand dollars for
- 45:40Speaker 3: a wedding.
- 45:41Speaker 2: It's the wedding tax.
- 45:42Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 45:43Speaker 5: I think that this show would be a more hr
- 45:46Speaker 5: violation than the Coldplate concert was.
- 45:49Speaker 6: Oh boy, that was crazy. He's like, you know, so
- 45:52Speaker 6: what about you, Alex kids that what are.
- 45:54Speaker 2: You doing it?
- 45:55Speaker 9: I feel like I'm at I'm only it's kind of
- 45:59Speaker 9: like that I only got married at the wedding, and
- 46:03Speaker 9: you know that I don't have experience with a bigger wedding,
- 46:06Speaker 9: but it was, like I said to Deuce, it was
- 46:08Speaker 9: nice because like I feel like I watched my sister
- 46:10Speaker 9: go through it and all they were doing was glad
- 46:13Speaker 9: handing guests the entire time, and like they maybe spent
- 46:17Speaker 9: a total of ten minutes with her husband the entire day.
- 46:21Speaker 9: You know, like probably when they were up at the
- 46:22Speaker 9: altar was the longest.
- 46:23Speaker 4: Though they okay, you can spend the rest of your life,
- 46:26Speaker 4: but it was.
- 46:26Speaker 9: It was the smaller wedding. It was. It was nice
- 46:29Speaker 9: to you know, I actually spent the majority of the
- 46:31Speaker 9: night with Jess and it actually got to like soak
- 46:34Speaker 9: it in together a little bit more.
- 46:35Speaker 4: I'm just like like if you're if you come from
- 46:37Speaker 4: a rich family, all right, do what you want. But
- 46:38Speaker 4: I feel like us, you know, save that money, like us,
- 46:43Speaker 4: you know where you're gonna live, don't from friend I
- 46:51Speaker 4: paid for.
- 46:51Speaker 5: Yeah, that's what I'm saying from the save all that
- 46:54Speaker 5: my friend's wedding was fantastic. Well, Fred was there for one.
- 46:59Speaker 4: It was not a little it was on a boat,
- 47:00Speaker 4: New Hampshire.
- 47:02Speaker 6: Very cool, little, very cool.
- 47:03Speaker 4: Wow.
- 47:04Speaker 6: Yeah, a little bit, not a little boat. It was
- 47:05Speaker 6: on a boat.
- 47:09Speaker 3: Social media like now it's up with the Jones. It's
- 47:13Speaker 3: like content farming.
- 47:14Speaker 2: Just to have a wedding.
- 47:15Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, there's no need to get involved in
- 47:17Speaker 5: any kind of competition.
- 47:18Speaker 6: I would agree, but you should do whatever you want,
- 47:20Speaker 6: whatever you feel like it does.
- 47:22Speaker 5: It really doesn't not if you don't want to know.
- 47:25Speaker 3: There's this real talk that people think they need at
- 47:27Speaker 3: their wedding because I saw it on TikTok and my.
- 47:31Speaker 5: Only competition was yelling at Fred to tell him to
- 47:33Speaker 5: shut the TV off during my wedding.
- 47:35Speaker 6: Yeah, he was watching Did.
- 47:36Speaker 2: You Get Married?
- 47:37Speaker 14: During the during the service Saturday playoffs January during.
- 47:43Speaker 4: The playoffs plays character.
- 47:47Speaker 6: We weren't in the playoffs.
- 47:49Speaker 4: This was in the reception. It wasn't during the wedding.
- 47:53Speaker 5: Well, I didn't see you during the wedding. Yes, it
- 47:55Speaker 5: was three. It was January of three. But the Patriot
- 47:59Speaker 5: it was funny because we got engaged and the Patriots
- 48:01Speaker 5: were like four and five at the time. Yeah, in
- 48:03Speaker 5: one there was no sign of them becoming what they became.
- 48:07Speaker 5: We got engaged. We sort of set a date from
- 48:10Speaker 5: the following year and all of a sudden, the Patriots
- 48:13Speaker 5: won whatever many in a row it was that they
- 48:15Speaker 5: won the super Bowl, So for nine in a row
- 48:18Speaker 5: to finish that season to win the one super Bowl
- 48:21Speaker 5: and then two comes around and like the whole season,
- 48:23Speaker 5: I'm like, what are we gonna do? You get all
- 48:26Speaker 5: these people invited to the wedding if we go to
- 48:27Speaker 5: the playoffs and they didn't go to the playoffs. That
- 48:31Speaker 5: might come up later.
- 48:33Speaker 4: Nobody asking about that particular season, which we'll talk about later.
- 48:37Speaker 4: All right, let's do anything you need to say, Alex,
- 48:41Speaker 4: since you were like coming to the show.
- 48:45Speaker 6: But these guys did hear from Schooler and high.
- 48:48Speaker 3: Hunter, Henry and Salas and Wyatt the little pup why
- 48:52Speaker 3: cute shelter dog. As we mentioned last week, we have
- 48:55Speaker 3: a pet adoption to then tomorrow to open camp with.
- 48:59Speaker 3: So Schooler came out with one of the dogs that
- 49:02Speaker 3: will be adoptable and they let him kind of roam
- 49:04Speaker 3: around and Evan and I were talking about this on
- 49:06Speaker 3: the way here. Some of the people I didn't even
- 49:08Speaker 3: acknowledge the dog when it was at their feet, and
- 49:11Speaker 3: me and Evan were like, yep, that is everything we
- 49:13Speaker 3: need to know.
- 49:14Speaker 9: You know, I can't even give it a little pat.
- 49:17Speaker 6: So that's what you would have said to me, if.
- 49:19Speaker 4: You would know, you would have.
- 49:21Speaker 3: I think you would even pretended to be like, yeah, yeah,
- 49:24Speaker 3: wanted just to keep.
- 49:25Speaker 9: Up because of the judgmental you know, we would have
- 49:32Speaker 9: judged you.
- 49:33Speaker 4: Yeah, tells me a lot about a person I would.
- 49:36Speaker 9: I wanted to pick it up, and I thought better
- 49:38Speaker 9: of it. I was like, I'm not going to I
- 49:39Speaker 9: don't think the dog.
- 49:40Speaker 3: I mean, I think the dog was a little not
- 49:42Speaker 3: over stimulated, but there was so much to smell and
- 49:44Speaker 3: so many people to agree that anyone that tried to
- 49:47Speaker 3: pick it up it would start crying.
- 49:49Speaker 2: The schooler had it.
- 49:50Speaker 1: It was the.
- 49:53Speaker 6: Really cute yeah you know me, I'm a dog.
- 49:55Speaker 5: I'm waiting ten minutes for us to go to breaks
- 49:57Speaker 5: so I can find out who was mean to the dog?
- 50:01Speaker 9: Is the dog guy? Now? I love the dog.
- 50:04Speaker 6: Won't leave my dad along though I don't like my
- 50:06Speaker 6: dad at all.
- 50:06Speaker 4: He doesn't like it.
- 50:07Speaker 6: Well, it's just bizarre.
- 50:08Speaker 8: I was asking alex and Em for help because he'll
- 50:10Speaker 8: if he's sitting next to my dad, totally fine licking
- 50:12Speaker 8: my dad. Let him rum the second my dad tries
- 50:14Speaker 8: to stand up or like hovers over him.
- 50:16Speaker 4: He's just like, ah, it's bizarre, doesn't like you know men?
- 50:21Speaker 6: Yeah, especially standing up like somehow sitting down he'll walk
- 50:25Speaker 6: right over right now, get rubs. But standing over him,
- 50:28Speaker 6: he is ready to tangle.
- 50:29Speaker 4: Is that right?
- 50:30Speaker 6: Bite your angles?
- 50:33Speaker 9: Your dad's got an alpha, you know, just like kind
- 50:35Speaker 9: of flex on him a little bit.
- 50:37Speaker 2: What if he's afraid of you know, I know I was.
- 50:41Speaker 6: We'll get to the bottom of right, don't get to
- 50:42Speaker 6: the bottom.
- 50:43Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, let's go to Christian in l A Christian?
- 50:46Speaker 4: What nonsense are you going to say today to infuriate? Hey?
- 50:49Speaker 6: What do you look like? Christian? We're about to play
- 50:51Speaker 6: this game.
- 50:53Speaker 13: Yeah, for the big game if people can figure out
- 50:56Speaker 13: who some of these patriots people are and figure out
- 50:59Speaker 13: who Christian in LA. But first, take congratulations to Evan.
- 51:03Speaker 9: Thank you on.
- 51:03Speaker 13: Your on your your wedding. I've been married before.
- 51:06Speaker 6: It is to work, No Moss, no mos. I can't
- 51:13Speaker 6: imagine why.
- 51:16Speaker 13: It didn't work out. Because he was Miss Iceland and
- 51:18Speaker 13: she was traveling all the.
- 51:19Speaker 6: Time, miss Iceland. Wow, the legend of Christian.
- 51:23Speaker 4: Literally she was Miss Iceland.
- 51:25Speaker 9: I also travel all the time, so I don't.
- 51:28Speaker 6: Like Miss Rhode Island.
- 51:30Speaker 3: Is that why you were driving up in Oregon with
- 51:32Speaker 3: your kids last week?
- 51:34Speaker 13: That was a long time ago. That was twenty years ago.
- 51:38Speaker 13: My parents, however, had been married for almost sixty years now,
- 51:43Speaker 13: and you ask them all the time what is the
- 51:46Speaker 13: key to their marriage, and my mom and dad both
- 51:48Speaker 13: have a similar response. My mom said, it's really difficult
- 51:53Speaker 13: to argue when you're kissing or holding hands. Oh and
- 51:57Speaker 13: then my dad said that if something really comes up,
- 52:00Speaker 13: it's really one of the cut argument you have to
- 52:02Speaker 13: get through to have to talk after you guys school
- 52:05Speaker 13: around because you love each other. What's connecting about you
- 52:10Speaker 13: that you let some of the small stuff about that
- 52:12Speaker 13: really important thing go? My parents and bid the marriage,
- 52:16Speaker 13: I think it's I think it's figured it onto football.
- 52:19Speaker 13: Here's the question that I have for you guys, now
- 52:22Speaker 13: that we start training camping, you have some guys shooting
- 52:24Speaker 13: for other guys jobs and some guys trying to keep
- 52:26Speaker 13: their jobs. How is that dynamic in the locker room
- 52:30Speaker 13: with guys you know, do they like each other? Is
- 52:34Speaker 13: it hard for the coach to keep them from getting
- 52:36Speaker 13: into you know, personal or or getting their feeling hurt
- 52:39Speaker 13: and not liking each other as they're trying to coalest
- 52:42Speaker 13: as a team. That's that's kind of my my question
- 52:44Speaker 13: about you can't wait for the game go past.
- 52:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean it's I think it's a very individual thing.
- 52:52Speaker 4: You know, some guys are more open than others. And uh,
- 52:56Speaker 4: Brady is the famous one. You know, comes in and
- 53:01Speaker 4: he doesn't give him the time of day. I'm you know,
- 53:03Speaker 4: he wasn't here to help Jimmy Garoppolo. And but he's
- 53:07Speaker 4: an established veteran. I think he might be talking about
- 53:09Speaker 4: more than younger guys.
- 53:11Speaker 6: But isn't that normal.
- 53:14Speaker 5: You've played on teams, doesn't matter what level I played
- 53:17Speaker 5: on a team, and you want to play right, So
- 53:20Speaker 5: if I if I want to play, I might have
- 53:22Speaker 5: to want someone else not to play.
- 53:25Speaker 6: So he's not better than me. I should be playing
- 53:27Speaker 6: over him.
- 53:27Speaker 8: I could still name all the kids that were like
- 53:29Speaker 8: playing over me at certain points, that.
- 53:32Speaker 5: Some kid with offensive ability at the blue line that
- 53:35Speaker 5: was running.
- 53:37Speaker 6: A little more mobility than too.
- 53:38Speaker 8: I buy like vabels quarter early in the year where
- 53:40Speaker 8: he talked about like every year, I look who we
- 53:41Speaker 8: drafted and be like, these are the guys that are
- 53:43Speaker 8: coming to try to take my job.
- 53:45Speaker 6: There's no misunderstandings of how the NFL works. The best
- 53:47Speaker 6: guy was Larry Iso.
- 53:49Speaker 5: Every year he would go down, he would do the math,
- 53:52Speaker 5: he would break down the rock. And this is a
- 53:53Speaker 5: guy who was like a Pro Bowl of five.
- 53:55Speaker 6: Years in a row.
- 53:56Speaker 5: Maybe he was the parential. He was the Matthew Slater
- 53:58Speaker 5: of the early special teams, the early dynasty. His roster
- 54:02Speaker 5: spot more often than not was not in jeopardy ever,
- 54:05Speaker 5: but that's not how he looked at it.
- 54:06Speaker 6: He would do the math.
- 54:07Speaker 5: And he would say this guy, this guy, Okay, I
- 54:09Speaker 5: can make it here. And that's how he he looked
- 54:12Speaker 5: at He never felt complacent, always kind of remembered and
- 54:16Speaker 5: he would back up linebackers, special teams, ace and this
- 54:19Speaker 5: is how I have to make.
- 54:20Speaker 4: And he would be public about it. But even the
- 54:22Speaker 4: players that don't talk about that, they're doing that in
- 54:25Speaker 4: the they're doing that.
- 54:27Speaker 5: You don't think, you know, like Jalen Polk and Jabon
- 54:29Speaker 5: Baker took note that Kyle Williams was the third round pick.
- 54:33Speaker 5: Of course they did. It doesn't mean they don't have
- 54:36Speaker 5: to like each other. I mean they might like each other,
- 54:38Speaker 5: but they're competing for jobs and maybe maybe not even
- 54:41Speaker 5: more than one job, who knows.
- 54:43Speaker 4: And you know, like as growing up, as Paul said,
- 54:45Speaker 4: you always wanted to get more time. But I remember
- 54:49Speaker 4: like if I felt like I was being slighted, I
- 54:52Speaker 4: it wasn't the kid, it was the coach that I
- 54:55Speaker 4: was mad at.
- 54:56Speaker 8: You're not seeing it depends, well, I would spend a
- 54:58Speaker 8: lot of time roasting the other kid, like.
- 55:02Speaker 4: The coach's son, well.
- 55:04Speaker 6: Dad, I would hold against the coach.
- 55:05Speaker 5: But like sometimes kids just like they were like just
- 55:09Speaker 5: such suck ups, and you know, and they would definitely
- 55:13Speaker 5: like you knew that they would just like brown nosing
- 55:16Speaker 5: the coach and that's what it was working.
- 55:19Speaker 6: And I would get annoyed with the coach.
- 55:20Speaker 5: But also I definitely resented the players that did that's
- 55:23Speaker 5: dummy heroes, you know, yeah, yeah, and then they would
- 55:27Speaker 5: have to play and then prove that they couldn't play
- 55:29Speaker 5: in the game.
- 55:30Speaker 6: And then finally, what about what about kids whose dad
- 55:34Speaker 6: was friends with the coach? Everybody, everybody saw the time
- 55:39Speaker 6: on that one.
- 55:40Speaker 9: But you definitely feel it when the very first practice
- 55:43Speaker 9: in locker room after cuts, like the weight that is
- 55:48Speaker 9: lifted off a lot of the player's shoulders, even some
- 55:50Speaker 9: guys that might not be there for long still, but
- 55:53Speaker 9: at least they made that initial first cut. You can
- 55:56Speaker 9: feel that.
- 55:57Speaker 4: First year and Pop Warner in New Jersey, one of
- 55:59Speaker 4: the its comes up to me and says, you probably
- 56:02Speaker 4: get more reps if your father was more involved. What
- 56:05Speaker 4: does that have to do.
- 56:08Speaker 9: Yeah, if you.
- 56:09Speaker 4: Don't have a dad, right, Yeah, good point.
- 56:12Speaker 5: There's definitely tension though, But you were talking about the
- 56:15Speaker 5: release of the tension before you and Alex came. We
- 56:18Speaker 5: were talking about we released the tension. Kendrick Boorn. Oh,
- 56:21Speaker 5: we were talking about Kendrick Bourne. He's a guy, but
- 56:25Speaker 5: he's a guy. If he makes it, he's probably you know,
- 56:28Speaker 5: sweating it out a little bit. So there's a lot
- 56:30Speaker 5: of bodies for not a lot of spots. Who's going
- 56:33Speaker 5: to get hurt and you know who you know, who's healthy,
- 56:35Speaker 5: who's not? You know what can they save on the contract?
- 56:38Speaker 9: Those kinds of things that practice in that locker room
- 56:41Speaker 9: is always such a light, like guys are like floating
- 56:45Speaker 9: on air, you know, like you can just really feel
- 56:47Speaker 9: the tension come right out of the room after that.
- 56:50Speaker 9: Whereas and when we're in there like after a preseason
- 56:53Speaker 9: game or something like that, it's it can get hot.
- 56:56Speaker 9: You know, it can get some guys that didn't like
- 56:59Speaker 9: how they play and you know, maybe you're a little
- 57:01Speaker 9: bit different than the guys that did, and it just
- 57:03Speaker 9: it's really an interesting time of year. But to Christians
- 57:07Speaker 9: like question, I think that there's definitely some of that
- 57:10Speaker 9: that goes on. It's just natural. And then yeah, normally
- 57:13Speaker 9: when the cut down day happens and then it comes
- 57:15Speaker 9: together like then it's okay, these are fifty three guys
- 57:19Speaker 9: and this is what we're rolling with. And it's not
- 57:21Speaker 9: the Christian Gonzales Milton Williams is of the world. They're
- 57:24Speaker 9: Drake Mays. It's you know, the back end of the roster.
- 57:26Speaker 4: No.
- 57:27Speaker 6: Yeah, I think you.
- 57:28Speaker 8: Just hope as a player that the coach explains it
- 57:30Speaker 8: to you and you can see it. You know, you
- 57:32Speaker 8: understand why they're going the direction that they're going, whether
- 57:35Speaker 8: player out performed you or it's just their play style
- 57:37Speaker 8: is more than you know, you don't want to go
- 57:39Speaker 8: out of it being like I had no idea why
- 57:40Speaker 8: I was just cut I think that's when there gets
- 57:42Speaker 8: to be you know, hard feelings to say, wow, that
- 57:44Speaker 8: was a good change off.
- 57:44Speaker 6: That was like NASCAR when they put the gas in,
- 57:47Speaker 6: you know, and it's like that, how would do it?
- 57:51Speaker 9: Thank you?
- 57:52Speaker 4: Yeah, Patty's an agawam? What's up? Patty? Travis and West
- 57:55Speaker 4: Virginia says your picture is the one with the fanny pack,
- 57:59Speaker 4: so you should easy spot. What do you have to
- 58:02Speaker 4: say about.
- 58:03Speaker 13: That showing up?
- 58:05Speaker 15: I don't think that Pitcher's showing up.
- 58:07Speaker 6: You're not part of the gaddy.
- 58:08Speaker 2: I don't think did you send one in?
- 58:10Speaker 6: No, you don't play well with others. You're not part
- 58:12Speaker 6: of the game.
- 58:12Speaker 16: I did very early, But football question will be around two.
- 58:18Speaker 15: Considering that this gentleman wasn't very involved in the spring
- 58:22Speaker 15: practices because I think there were reports out there that
- 58:25Speaker 15: he wasn't fully healthy. Are you guys are a surprised
- 58:27Speaker 15: and optimistic that Jared Wilson didn't start on the puffer
- 58:31Speaker 15: the NFY list? And do you think he has a
- 58:34Speaker 15: realistic shot to beat out Bradberry? Because I do. I'm
- 58:39Speaker 15: just excited to see what this kid can do. And
- 58:41Speaker 15: considering what we went through last year with may and
- 58:45Speaker 15: Jacoby Brissette, you know, with Mayo, and this isn't a
- 58:47Speaker 15: shot at him, but saying that may outplayed him, towards
- 58:50Speaker 15: the last couple of last few weeks of camp, but
- 58:53Speaker 15: he didn't get the job. I think Brabel will get
- 58:56Speaker 15: Wilson the job off the outplays Bradberry.
- 58:59Speaker 13: That's what I want to get your guys opinion. Now
- 59:00Speaker 13: I'll take it off there.
- 59:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I have no idea, but I would think that
- 59:04Speaker 4: they love it if if he beat up Brad, I.
- 59:06Speaker 6: Think he has a chance. Yeah, it's a big X factor.
- 59:09Speaker 9: I'd say, yeah, there's a chance. I think it depends
- 59:11Speaker 9: on what they do at left guard though, because if
- 59:14Speaker 9: you're going to be starting a bunch of young guys,
- 59:16Speaker 9: then like Will Campbell's obviously starting at left tackle, so
- 59:19Speaker 9: you already have a rookie at left tackle, and then
- 59:21Speaker 9: you have a rookie at center, which is a big
- 59:24Speaker 9: between the years position. So like it's a lot of
- 59:27Speaker 9: youth on the line if you get all those guys
- 59:29Speaker 9: in there. But I definitely think he has a chance
- 59:32Speaker 9: and hopefully we see more of him. Like Patty said,
- 59:35Speaker 9: we didn't see a ton.
- 59:36Speaker 6: Like what's the cadence at left guard and center?
- 59:38Speaker 8: It was brad Berry locked in? There are they cycling
- 59:41Speaker 8: through guys at left guard?
- 59:42Speaker 6: Is cold? Strange? Locked in? There to start.
- 59:45Speaker 8: You know, all of a sudden, does Wilson enter at
- 59:47Speaker 8: left guard because they've been they don't like what they've
- 59:49Speaker 8: been seeing. Those are the interesting positions how the reps
- 59:52Speaker 8: are divvied up. I think could get a good sense
- 59:53Speaker 8: even the first couple of days of just how they
- 59:55Speaker 8: see the depth on the line and who's really going
- 59:57Speaker 8: to compete.
- 59:57Speaker 9: He was only a one year starter at Georgia too.
- 1:00:00Speaker 9: Two you know, always started one year at center at Georgia,
- 1:00:03Speaker 9: which most centers when they come out have started like
- 1:00:06Speaker 9: four or five seasons in college football before they hit
- 1:00:08Speaker 9: the NFL draft. So that's the one reason why I
- 1:00:11Speaker 9: would be just you know, pump the brakes a little
- 1:00:14Speaker 9: bit on Jared Wilson starting at center right away. Is
- 1:00:16Speaker 9: because he's really an inexperienced center relative to what it
- 1:00:21Speaker 9: normally is.
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: So yeah, all right, foods here, But before we do,
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: just want to shout out to our sponsor, Brunt Adam
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: and Louisiana says he ordered his Brunt boots for work
- 1:00:32Speaker 4: yesterday based off the recommendations. Hoping you've been telling the
- 1:00:36Speaker 4: truth about them. The curse recommendation carries a lot of weight.
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: I'll report back and how I liked them. After I
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: had some time to wear them, I made sure to
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: take their survey and said the Patriots sent me. Well,
- 1:00:46Speaker 4: thank you for that. Everybody. If you go to Brunt,
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: make sure that you use PATS as the code. Get
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: ten dollars off in football news. I'm looking forward to
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: the season, really going to be watching Kyle Williams to
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: see his development. I'm skeptical of Josh McDaniel's ability to
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: develop wide receivers, but I'm hoping it was a problem
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: of the Brady offense being too complex and not a
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: Josh problem. Well, I don't know if it was Josh's
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: job to develop wide receivers, but I you know, I
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: hear what you're saying. Patriots have had a hard time
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: developing receivers, you know some of the guys.
- 1:01:23Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: If I would put that on Josh either. But the
- 1:01:26Speaker 5: offense is the offense, right Like either way if you're
- 1:01:29Speaker 5: worried about well, either way, if you're worried about it,
- 1:01:32Speaker 5: you're gonna be worried about something, right.
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: All right, So we'll take a break. But again with Brunt,
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: they're right here in New England. They make work boots
- 1:01:40Speaker 4: in apparel that are built for the job site. It's comfortable, durable,
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: named after the real workers in the trades that help
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: design it. You can even try it out on the
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: job and if it doesn't blow your way, they let
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: you send it back. I've been getting a lot of
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: brunt ads in myst It's unbelievable. They have these new
- 1:02:00Speaker 4: work pants that I really like.
- 1:02:01Speaker 6: And just say it in your fun work I might
- 1:02:03Speaker 6: get those.

- 1:04:00Speaker 13: Huh.
- 1:04:02Speaker 10: I know, I'm gonna figure it out.
- 1:04:06Speaker 6: I know, good luck.
- 1:04:07Speaker 11: That was a good one.
- 1:04:10Speaker 10: Welcome, Welcome to training camp twenty twenty five. I know
- 1:04:16Speaker 10: Stacey kind of talked to you. We're gonna trim through
- 1:04:18Speaker 10: these just guidelines and figure out, you know, so that
- 1:04:21Speaker 10: we can all you know, you guys can get what
- 1:04:23Speaker 10: you want from practice, and we'll try to give you
- 1:04:28Speaker 10: what you can and we'll try to communicate that daily
- 1:04:31Speaker 10: and so hopefully there's not a million rules, but a
- 1:04:35Speaker 10: few guidelines that you could follow, and you know, we
- 1:04:37Speaker 10: can all work together. I understand you guys got a
- 1:04:39Speaker 10: job to do. We appreciate the job that you do
- 1:04:41Speaker 10: and the job that we have. So I got everybody
- 1:04:44Speaker 10: in here. We had an early group started a couple
- 1:04:46Speaker 10: of days ago, which was the rookie class quarterbacks and
- 1:04:51Speaker 10: then some players that may have been not full or
- 1:04:56Speaker 10: one hundred percent in the off season. That was the
- 1:04:58Speaker 10: first group, just to kind of get them in there,
- 1:05:00Speaker 10: get them acclimated. The rest of the group reported this morning,
- 1:05:04Speaker 10: went through physicals, had a great run test, just finished
- 1:05:09Speaker 10: that and then we'll start here with meetings here after lunch,
- 1:05:13Speaker 10: So a couple of players that probably are on a
- 1:05:17Speaker 10: few lists. There's two lists that we're working with now
- 1:05:21Speaker 10: as it relates to the roster. The PUP list, which
- 1:05:24Speaker 10: would be Hooper, Hollins, Verdarian Lowe, and to Vy. I
- 1:05:28Speaker 10: would expect to buy back out there tomorrow. Those other
- 1:05:34Speaker 10: three probably will be, you know, sometime after that. The
- 1:05:40Speaker 10: NFI list, which would be Davis, Lincoln's and Web. I
- 1:05:45Speaker 10: would expect Davis and Web back out there with us
- 1:05:48Speaker 10: tomorrow and then Lincoln's maybe a few more days. So
- 1:05:52Speaker 10: those are just some housekeeping items and just some list
- 1:05:57Speaker 10: that we used to start camp. So with that, what
- 1:06:00Speaker 10: he got Karen with the news that.
- 1:06:04Speaker 19: Step Up Degues has been cleared the practice suitably passing physical.
- 1:06:09Speaker 19: What does it mean to you that he's ready to
- 1:06:12Speaker 19: start a camp just eight months after BC surgery.
- 1:06:16Speaker 10: Well, I know that everybody heals differently, and especially from
- 1:06:20Speaker 10: that type of injury, but I would say that I
- 1:06:23Speaker 10: think it's just a testament to how hard he worked.
- 1:06:29Speaker 10: You know, Mark Zepps also went through that that surgery
- 1:06:33Speaker 10: and worked extremely hard, and he's he's been out there
- 1:06:36Speaker 10: the last couple of days with us as well, so
- 1:06:39Speaker 10: appreciate their efforts to get back out there and get ready,
- 1:06:43Speaker 10: and then we'll continue to monitor as we work through
- 1:06:46Speaker 10: training camp.
- 1:06:46Speaker 5: Do you still have him on any sort of like
- 1:06:49Speaker 5: pitch count or anything or is.
- 1:06:50Speaker 20: He full go?
- 1:06:51Speaker 10: Well, I mean I would say I'm going to try
- 1:06:55Speaker 10: to just explain it when he practices. When he when
- 1:06:59Speaker 10: he took the rep, it was we'll go. Everybody every
- 1:07:01Speaker 10: day is going to have a different plan. There'll be
- 1:07:04Speaker 10: some players that aren't out there for individual There'll be
- 1:07:07Speaker 10: players that are just out there for team. There'll be
- 1:07:09Speaker 10: players that are just taking some specific reps, and my
- 1:07:13Speaker 10: job is to manage that each and every day, but
- 1:07:17Speaker 10: to ensure the football team that everybody's working, whether that's
- 1:07:20Speaker 10: with with Frank or the or Jim's staff or with
- 1:07:24Speaker 10: the coaching staff on the field. So I don't see
- 1:07:28Speaker 10: any limitations right now. Is he going to take every
- 1:07:32Speaker 10: single rep of every single period. No, and I don't
- 1:07:35Speaker 10: think any player will. But you know, I think we're
- 1:07:39Speaker 10: off to a good start and encouraged by by what
- 1:07:42Speaker 10: we saw here in the last couple of days. Yeah,
- 1:07:46Speaker 10: Big Big T is here ready to go. He's been
- 1:07:50Speaker 10: out on the field with us the last couple of days.
- 1:07:53Speaker 10: Players were excited to see him. I was excited to
- 1:07:56Speaker 10: see him, and uh, you know, we'll move forward still
- 1:08:01Speaker 10: more accurately big stuff.
- 1:08:02Speaker 9: Did he pass his physical?
- 1:08:04Speaker 10: Yeah, you can't practice if you don't pass your physical.
- 1:08:06Speaker 10: That's what these lists are for. I apologize. So you
- 1:08:11Speaker 10: know that's some of the housekeeping that you go through
- 1:08:13Speaker 10: when when you're not fully cleared to start camp. Is
- 1:08:17Speaker 10: that's where you introduce some of these pup and the
- 1:08:19Speaker 10: n FI. So, uh, yeah, you can't practice without passing
- 1:08:22Speaker 10: your physical.
- 1:08:23Speaker 5: Critical This buff was when they were off in their
- 1:08:26Speaker 5: own kind of don't remember correctly, Mike said, is one
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: of the most important jumps through the year.
- 1:08:31Speaker 9: What's your level with satisfaction.
- 1:08:33Speaker 4: With these guys?
- 1:08:33Speaker 10: Well, I think just based on the conditioning test, based
- 1:08:36Speaker 10: on everybody at their weights where where we asked them
- 1:08:39Speaker 10: to be in the conversation, thought we met expectations in
- 1:08:44Speaker 10: that regard. But ultimately it's it's about the you know,
- 1:08:47Speaker 10: the football conditioning, right, the the inline combat with another
- 1:08:52Speaker 10: player and then being able to go and chase the
- 1:08:55Speaker 10: football and do it repeatedly, and a receiver to to
- 1:08:58Speaker 10: run a route downfield and not get football. But still
- 1:09:00Speaker 10: come back to the huddle and play the next snap
- 1:09:03Speaker 10: and to be able to have that competitive stamina as
- 1:09:07Speaker 10: it works through practice and then you'll see us try
- 1:09:09Speaker 10: to build those reps through practice to get close to
- 1:09:13Speaker 10: where we need to be for the game. So, you know,
- 1:09:16Speaker 10: the inline conditioning test is one thing we'll have to
- 1:09:20Speaker 10: continue to to practice the way that we want to play,
- 1:09:23Speaker 10: which is critical, uh, to to be able to create
- 1:09:26Speaker 10: our identity.
- 1:09:27Speaker 7: I was trouble.
- 1:09:28Speaker 9: I just helped you.
- 1:09:31Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:09:32Speaker 10: It is the only D line coach that I've had,
- 1:09:36Speaker 10: you know, just a great reach to every player on
- 1:09:39Speaker 10: football team. And I saw him reach young offensive lineman
- 1:09:44Speaker 10: that we're across the ball. But you know, he worked
- 1:09:46Speaker 10: with extensively in different drills or pass rush drills. You know,
- 1:09:53Speaker 10: he's got a great perspective. I think it's just helped
- 1:09:58Speaker 10: me personally to to kind of, you know, reach guys
- 1:10:02Speaker 10: that maybe I haven't been able to reach. He's been
- 1:10:04Speaker 10: a great mentor for young coaches as well. And I
- 1:10:07Speaker 10: think our players have always responded very well and his
- 1:10:10Speaker 10: units have always been prepared and productive no matter who
- 1:10:14Speaker 10: uh he was coaching. Is he like both go and
- 1:10:18Speaker 10: sell for like God? No, no, no, but no coach
- 1:10:20Speaker 10: should be full go, including this one. I haven't seen
- 1:10:26Speaker 10: any restrictions. He's not on PUP and he's not on
- 1:10:28Speaker 10: n FI like you a big uh.
- 1:10:31Speaker 17: You know, first meeting set the tone, the expectations type
- 1:10:33Speaker 17: more do you kind of relay that message as you go?
- 1:10:36Speaker 13: We started to know.
- 1:10:40Speaker 10: I mean, I think every message meeting, we try to
- 1:10:42Speaker 10: have a message and we try to not waste their time.
- 1:10:46Speaker 10: I found that consistency usually is the best, and sometimes
- 1:10:50Speaker 10: that gets redundant for some guys. But you know, the
- 1:10:53Speaker 10: things you emphasize are usually the things that you get
- 1:10:56Speaker 10: the things that you make important. So try not to
- 1:10:59Speaker 10: give them a ton of stuff, but certainly things that
- 1:11:02Speaker 10: I think that that are going to be important, for example,
- 1:11:06Speaker 10: training camp. I think our objectives that we're going to
- 1:11:09Speaker 10: talk to them about and have talked to them about,
- 1:11:11Speaker 10: is it's time to build a team. You know, we
- 1:11:14Speaker 10: have to start coming together as a football team, and
- 1:11:16Speaker 10: the groups that we're going to use, and the special
- 1:11:18Speaker 10: teams unit and the different personnel grouping on offense and
- 1:11:22Speaker 10: on defense, and that all has to come together and
- 1:11:25Speaker 10: that has to happen. The other thing is they have
- 1:11:27Speaker 10: to earn a role and that's a great time for
- 1:11:29Speaker 10: them to personally earn a role through training camp is
- 1:11:33Speaker 10: what they can do for the team, how they can
- 1:11:35Speaker 10: help us, how they can help themselves. And there's a
- 1:11:38Speaker 10: lot of different levels to what those roles are, and
- 1:11:42Speaker 10: in my fourteen year career have had plenty of them,
- 1:11:45Speaker 10: from special teams, multiple position backup to starter, you know,
- 1:11:53Speaker 10: a starter that was expected to be productive to a
- 1:11:56Speaker 10: veteran leader. So there's a multiple levels of what that
- 1:12:01Speaker 10: role will be and that's up to them to earn it.
- 1:12:04Speaker 10: And then obviously we have to prepare to win, and.
- 1:12:06Speaker 4: That will be.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: Some of the content of Patriots and now great moments
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: in history.
- 1:12:20Speaker 4: Interesting. I want to check out this caller on the
- 1:12:23Speaker 4: A Sticket Hotline, Roger, I bet you were going with
- 1:12:26Speaker 4: sweet Rogers and Foxborough. What's up, Roger?
- 1:12:29Speaker 13: Are you guys done?
- 1:12:31Speaker 9: It's hard.
- 1:12:34Speaker 18: We haven't heard from you since the preseason.
- 1:12:38Speaker 6: We're just about to talk about fullback stances.
- 1:12:41Speaker 4: We didn't, yeah, three point stances versus you know, did you.
- 1:12:44Speaker 5: Take a wide stance with Bill yesterday? Talk?
- 1:12:48Speaker 16: You know that's my take, A little.
- 1:12:50Speaker 5: Wide stance with Bill though, Yeah, I imagine.
- 1:12:53Speaker 4: Unfortunately that's the best question you asked.
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: That's an their great.
- 1:13:00Speaker 4: Moment, all right, the great Andy hart Roger. How's he doing? Still?
- 1:13:09Speaker 4: Like an EI?
- 1:13:10Speaker 5: I guess yeah, you know they're treating him okay a
- 1:13:14Speaker 5: smart as I know.
- 1:13:15Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, why you know? I don't know. You don't
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: talk to him anymore? I do, okay, I.
- 1:13:22Speaker 5: Don't generally just talk about work though.
- 1:13:24Speaker 9: Okay, right, all right, rubber ring, rubber rings.
- 1:13:29Speaker 4: So to make sure that we get this done and
- 1:13:31Speaker 4: we don't run out of time, should we get into
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: this contest, let's do it, all right, So we're gonna
- 1:13:37Speaker 4: months ago, we asked all of you, particularly are more
- 1:13:41Speaker 4: frequent callers, to send in photos of yourself because a
- 1:13:44Speaker 4: lot of times you hear a voice for a long
- 1:13:47Speaker 4: time and you make a mental picture of what you
- 1:13:49Speaker 4: think that person looks like, and then often once you
- 1:13:54Speaker 4: see the persons like, man, I didn't think you look
- 1:13:56Speaker 4: like that.
- 1:13:56Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm terrible.
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: I'm gonna character in a book movie. That's not what
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: I was picturing.
- 1:14:03Speaker 4: Right, So we asked for people to send in their pictures,
- 1:14:07Speaker 4: and a lot of you did. So we've got ten
- 1:14:11Speaker 4: and do you want me to read off who they?
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: How do you want how do.
- 1:14:13Speaker 6: We want.
- 1:14:17Speaker 4: You gotta put your mic on that.
- 1:14:19Speaker 6: This is all that.
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: Everybody else get you, guys, this is Alex's game.
- 1:14:24Speaker 4: I'm going to pass the book to her.
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:14:26Speaker 3: I was thinking the control room guys could put their
- 1:14:30Speaker 3: numbered one through ten. That is not the order of
- 1:14:33Speaker 3: the names in the name bank. So they'll put the
- 1:14:36Speaker 3: first photo on. Everyone write down and answer will say
- 1:14:40Speaker 3: who we think it is, and then we'll reveal the
- 1:14:44Speaker 3: true name like that.
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: So yeah, so here are the ten people. Uh and
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: again it's no. One not in order is Anthony and Seattle,
- 1:14:54Speaker 4: James Pettigrew, the most interesting Patriot fan of the world,
- 1:14:56Speaker 4: speiing Fresno, Barton, Poland, fidel and Tampa, Melvin and Tennessee
- 1:15:01Speaker 4: we haven't heard from in a while, Christian in La
- 1:15:05Speaker 4: who we hear from too much, Fort and Savannah, John
- 1:15:08Speaker 4: and Louisiana, and Eldred in the truck.
- 1:15:11Speaker 6: I better get Eldred in the truck.
- 1:15:13Speaker 4: So those are the ten people who we have the
- 1:15:16Speaker 4: photos of. So that's who we're that's the bank or
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: the pool that we're choosing from. So I guess let's
- 1:15:24Speaker 4: do the first one and then we have to write
- 1:15:26Speaker 4: in who we think is number one and don't say
- 1:15:31Speaker 4: it yet.
- 1:15:31Speaker 6: I don't say it, Yeah, I don't say it.
- 1:15:33Speaker 4: Yeah, say so what's the first photo? Okay? Who is that? Man?
- 1:15:43Speaker 4: Know who? It's not right, it's not.
- 1:15:46Speaker 6: I'm not going to finalize my picks.
- 1:15:49Speaker 8: Yeah, we should wait till the end because if we
- 1:15:51Speaker 8: tell him right after all right, let's yeah, just take.
- 1:15:57Speaker 4: A shoot, okay and play along. All right, So that's
- 1:16:02Speaker 4: the first picture. Okay, let's go number two, crossing names
- 1:16:07Speaker 4: over there, number two.
- 1:16:10Speaker 9: This guy is Portland, Portland.
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: It's a Portland trail blaze of Jersey.
- 1:16:16Speaker 9: That's a hint.
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: It may or may not be.
- 1:16:20Speaker 4: So I know who that is?
- 1:16:22Speaker 6: Yeah, all right, okay, okay, I don't feel great about that.
- 1:16:27Speaker 4: It's still the next one.
- 1:16:30Speaker 6: Oh p s w.
- 1:16:33Speaker 5: Hmm.
- 1:16:33Speaker 6: That's a real thing. I'm gonna yeah, yeah.
- 1:16:39Speaker 4: Okay, it so bad at this Okay, that one is
- 1:16:44Speaker 4: still four?
- 1:16:45Speaker 6: Shoot?
- 1:16:46Speaker 4: Really, oh I can't even see this one. Whoa It's
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: kind of like, oh I think I know who that is.
- 1:16:52Speaker 6: Yeah, I can't believe think fireman.
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I wonder if it's a real uniform.
- 1:16:57Speaker 5: Rooms you need to reach out of the listeners, get
- 1:17:00Speaker 5: filter or action, going, what are you doing head shots?
- 1:17:07Speaker 4: Shoot, all right, let's do the next one.
- 1:17:11Speaker 5: I know that.
- 1:17:13Speaker 6: Okay, that would be cheating. I know that one.
- 1:17:16Speaker 4: Let's do after you.
- 1:17:19Speaker 5: I'd be cheating on that one too, I know that one.
- 1:17:21Speaker 4: Oh yeah, okay. Next mm hmm.
- 1:17:29Speaker 6: That was like a nice guy.
- 1:17:30Speaker 8: Uh jeez, I'm running out of options here.
- 1:17:34Speaker 6: Which one is this one? This is the seventh posing
- 1:17:37Speaker 6: with beauty and the beast?
- 1:17:38Speaker 4: What? What is his name?
- 1:17:39Speaker 6: What's the guy.
- 1:17:44Speaker 4: Who is? Which is the caller? Is it Robin Hood
- 1:17:49Speaker 4: or the guy in the Peter pan? Who is that
- 1:17:54Speaker 4: in the background? All right? Next a cameo?
- 1:18:00Speaker 9: Somebody who you've literally met?
- 1:18:02Speaker 4: This Now I'm a little screwed up.
- 1:18:06Speaker 6: I got a good guess with this one.
- 1:18:08Speaker 9: I was going to say that that Fred and I
- 1:18:10Speaker 9: have maybe met a few of these people.
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: So it's okay, it gives you extra points.
- 1:18:16Speaker 9: We'll disqualified.
- 1:18:17Speaker 6: I met at least three, I think four.
- 1:18:19Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:18:20Speaker 6: It doesn't mean I'm gonna get him right now?
- 1:18:22Speaker 9: Me neither?
- 1:18:22Speaker 6: Yeah, only got two left?
- 1:18:29Speaker 4: Next?
- 1:18:30Speaker 9: Oh god, what is.

- 1:18:37Speaker 4: He said?
- 1:18:39Speaker 5: He says, he.
- 1:18:40Speaker 6: I'm switching to can I do that cross?
- 1:18:43Speaker 5: That's why you don't lock him in, guy, Okay, hold on,
- 1:18:51Speaker 5: holding on one left.
- 1:18:52Speaker 6: I guess it's got to be this guy.
- 1:18:53Speaker 4: Why why do I have more people than.
- 1:19:00Speaker 6: It?
- 1:19:01Speaker 5: He's spreading it?
- 1:19:03Speaker 4: All right?
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: I think game last one, last one?
- 1:19:08Speaker 9: See this is what I'm talking.
- 1:19:10Speaker 6: I feel disqualified. I'm gonna change again. I'm going to
- 1:19:13Speaker 6: change again.
- 1:19:13Speaker 4: Okay, I'm just gonna go what's what I am? Yeah?
- 1:19:17Speaker 4: All right, all right, I'm going to be wrong on
- 1:19:20Speaker 4: a lot of these.
- 1:19:21Speaker 6: I got to write them in. Now, do we like
- 1:19:23Speaker 6: back it up and show like what they were? And
- 1:19:24Speaker 6: then you tell us or I guess you can.
- 1:19:25Speaker 3: We'll put the photo, we'll put the number one back on,
- 1:19:28Speaker 3: everyone will say who they think it is, and I'll
- 1:19:30Speaker 3: do the reveal.
- 1:19:31Speaker 4: Okay, gotcha, that makes sense?
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: Okay, all right, number one.
- 1:19:36Speaker 6: We gotta get you a little one. I'm gonna say

- 1:20:07Speaker 4: I could see him married to miss Iceland.
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: Sure, I love that for him Iceland. All right, so
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: everyone got that.
- 1:20:15Speaker 6: But okay, now I haven't got wrong. Uh this one
- 1:20:21Speaker 6: I went with Anthony.
- 1:20:22Speaker 5: I did too, because I went Anthony and Seattle with

- 1:21:11Speaker 6: Wait, this is wrong.
- 1:21:13Speaker 4: No, that's right, that's right, because I remember the picture.
- 1:21:17Speaker 6: I wrote Ford. I wrote Ford. I did too, I
- 1:21:20Speaker 6: wrote John, I.
- 1:21:21Speaker 4: Said Barton Poland from Tampa forms.
- 1:21:26Speaker 6: I'm sorry I got them all wrong.

- 1:21:38Speaker 4: I just looked at it and he looked foreign. Okay,
- 1:21:41Speaker 4: that's bar and Poland.
- 1:21:42Speaker 6: I like, can he write in and tell us what's
- 1:21:45Speaker 6: going on? I did that like.
- 1:21:48Speaker 4: European.

- 1:21:56Speaker 6: Get that one?
- 1:21:57Speaker 4: Okay?
- 1:21:58Speaker 6: So I'm going to get four right then?
- 1:22:00Speaker 4: All right, all right?
- 1:22:01Speaker 6: Next next one? Melvin? Yeah, Melvin, right, Melvin.
- 1:22:05Speaker 4: Now I knew that one.
- 1:22:07Speaker 6: I recognized.
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: Everyone say Melvin, Yeah, well done, that is Melvin.
- 1:22:10Speaker 9: I knew that one.
- 1:22:12Speaker 6: Fred and I cannot take any credit for that. We've
- 1:22:13Speaker 6: met Melvin many times.
- 1:22:15Speaker 5: He's been in the studio, he's been on the Oh
- 1:22:17Speaker 5: you guys, I haven't met him, but he's been in studio.
- 1:22:20Speaker 6: He was in the stands and he waved it. Yeah right,

- 1:22:25Speaker 6: Yeah, he took us out.
- 1:22:26Speaker 9: Oh sweet, it sweeky number six.
- 1:22:31Speaker 6: It's got to be Aldred. That's that's big. Got to
- 1:22:34Speaker 6: be big, our beloved there is in the truck boom.
- 1:22:38Speaker 9: So there's a Twitter account right that has that picture,
- 1:22:41Speaker 9: but it's not Eldred.
- 1:22:44Speaker 3: Someone runs it as a burner and they're mean because
- 1:22:48Speaker 3: Eldred would never say a.
- 1:22:50Speaker 6: Lot of the stuff that he says.
- 1:22:52Speaker 4: I agree with you, I know because he called in
- 1:22:55Speaker 4: really like, that's not may.
- 1:22:57Speaker 8: I feel like we kind of played like we're coy
- 1:22:59Speaker 8: about it, strangely, like I definitely didn't think it was him,
- 1:23:02Speaker 8: but when we asked him.
- 1:23:02Speaker 6: About it, he's like, I don't know what seven?
- 1:23:06Speaker 9: What I get wrong with number seven?
- 1:23:10Speaker 4: I thought was I thought it was?
- 1:23:12Speaker 6: I said, so, I said four to but is it.
- 1:23:15Speaker 2: Anthony Anthony and Seattle?
- 1:23:17Speaker 8: Okay Anthony Anthony, boy, I switched them.
- 1:23:25Speaker 6: I was so close to having a good round.
- 1:23:28Speaker 2: Number eight.
- 1:23:29Speaker 5: Barton Poland, I said, Barton Poland. This guy European.
- 1:23:33Speaker 4: Yeah, Bart's gonna kill me because I don't, I said,
- 1:23:37Speaker 4: John and Louis.
- 1:23:38Speaker 6: Is that right?
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: So everyone had it right?
- 1:23:42Speaker 5: The guy who's actually in the picture, this is from
- 1:23:45Speaker 5: London at the at the yeah, I think.
- 1:23:49Speaker 2: I was thinking London or Germany. But that is our friend,
- 1:23:52Speaker 2: Barton Poland.
- 1:23:53Speaker 9: Okay, I remember meeting him.
- 1:23:57Speaker 6: One is definitely wrong for me.
- 1:24:00Speaker 9: Yeah, I got this.
- 1:24:02Speaker 6: I thought this was James Pettigre just because a very
- 1:24:04Speaker 6: interesting picture. But but but I did, But they changed
- 1:24:08Speaker 6: it and went to the last one. So I said,
- 1:24:09Speaker 6: John and All, which is johna Louisiana? Which is wrong?
- 1:24:12Speaker 4: I thought I thought it was Ford, So I thought
- 1:24:15Speaker 4: I didn't know. I just took a guess. I said
- 1:24:17Speaker 4: it was Ford in Savannah.
- 1:24:18Speaker 2: This is speed.
- 1:24:20Speaker 6: No, I never would have gotten that.
- 1:24:26Speaker 9: And he sounds like he has I used this.
- 1:24:30Speaker 4: Does he sound like he has?
- 1:24:32Speaker 6: Does at least Mike.
- 1:24:34Speaker 5: I had the same thought process for you, and only
- 1:24:38Speaker 5: because I know James. Oh yeah, but I would have said,
- 1:24:41Speaker 5: that's what James Pedigrew would send in.
- 1:24:43Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, this guy is playing the cello.
- 1:24:45Speaker 9: But James Petigrew sent in is very on brand. I know.
- 1:24:49Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, the dog.
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: What did you all have though?
- 1:24:53Speaker 6: So I got one to.
- 1:24:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I had James. We know it's not friend. Met him.
- 1:25:01Speaker 6: He's another one who's been.
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: Interested teams looked like I was very surprised.
- 1:25:05Speaker 4: He looks interesting.
- 1:25:06Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, he looks very interesting.
- 1:25:07Speaker 4: Do you think.
- 1:25:08Speaker 6: Look, he's the most interesting Patriots fan on the planet.
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: You know, I didn't really know, but I was pleasantly surprised.
- 1:25:15Speaker 6: That's exactly what that vie, right, I don't.
- 1:25:18Speaker 5: I don't often take my dog, but when I do,
- 1:25:22Speaker 5: he looktriots and filtered.
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: Sekis didn't have a lot an American guy like he's like.
- 1:25:30Speaker 9: He was a great time as well. He is exactly
- 1:25:33Speaker 9: what you expect, tons of energy, like bloke, aggressive energy.
- 1:25:38Speaker 6: I got I got five. I got five too, I
- 1:25:40Speaker 6: got four.
- 1:25:41Speaker 9: I got four, right.
- 1:25:43Speaker 5: But I should be disqualified. Mike was the winner because
- 1:25:46Speaker 5: I had three that I had met that I got all.
- 1:25:49Speaker 9: I think the bar I think we do this.
- 1:25:51Speaker 2: I think we do this like twice a year, one
- 1:25:54Speaker 2: sup quarter.
- 1:25:54Speaker 3: Yeah, like Nate in Connecticut, Sean and Vancouver, Patty will
- 1:25:59Speaker 3: get you in the next round.
- 1:26:01Speaker 9: I've never missed that.
- 1:26:02Speaker 6: I don't think I've met any.
- 1:26:03Speaker 4: So now we have to do Nate in Connecticut and
- 1:26:05Speaker 4: some people photos.
- 1:26:08Speaker 6: I just said, Nate and Connecticut, we're.
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: Gonna some people said in photos with their wives, well
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: not wives, plural wife and children.
- 1:26:17Speaker 5: Wives in place in Utah.
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't want to put children on the YouTube.
- 1:26:25Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: And like your wife not that the white sign that,
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: but I just didn't want to open anyone up to any.
- 1:26:33Speaker 5: It's like, remember about the Halloween you know the costume
- 1:26:36Speaker 5: pictures that we put up, and I had a home
- 1:26:38Speaker 5: thought I was in the Golden Girls. I actually reached
- 1:26:41Speaker 5: out to the other three people before I put that up.
- 1:26:43Speaker 5: I didn't want them to know. You know, not everybody
- 1:26:45Speaker 5: signs up for non stop for I do all.
- 1:26:49Speaker 4: Right, good stuff. That was fun? Fun, that was fun.
- 1:26:51Speaker 6: Did you write this all up to?
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: That's my handwriting?
- 1:26:55Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:26:55Speaker 5: Graph paper, Thank you, graph paper and very neat.
- 1:26:59Speaker 6: I know it's like artsy writing.
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: I want a handwriting competition once in fourth grade.
- 1:27:03Speaker 4: Really kind of competition.
- 1:27:04Speaker 9: I can kind of see that based off your calendar
- 1:27:06Speaker 9: on your desk.
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: Well, this is messy for me, but I did. I
- 1:27:11Speaker 2: I'm like diabolically O c D.
- 1:27:14Speaker 9: I can also see that based off your desk very anal.
- 1:27:19Speaker 4: Remember so back in my day, you know, we use pencils.
- 1:27:22Speaker 4: Do they still use pencils? And I prefer pencil number
- 1:27:25Speaker 4: because you're left mechanical pencil you do the writing and
- 1:27:30Speaker 4: you'd have all the lead.
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: Yeah, makes a great mechanical pencil that is yellow.
- 1:27:39Speaker 9: Why why.
- 1:27:41Speaker 4: Which always breaking?
- 1:27:42Speaker 2: The kids can't figure it out.
- 1:27:43Speaker 6: They want to give that number two pencils.
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: But then they're getting up to sharpen them every couple
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: of minutes.
- 1:27:49Speaker 21: I know.
- 1:27:52Speaker 4: Now Rhode Island, they have likes.
- 1:27:59Speaker 6: You can just say there can clicking and clicking and clicking.
- 1:28:02Speaker 6: It's like when Tom Hanks on Big is filling out
- 1:28:04Speaker 6: this application. Wow, what what's school stuff? That's called George
- 1:28:10Speaker 6: Washington your pledge every day every morning.
- 1:28:16Speaker 9: Nobody knows that you're talking Big.
- 1:28:18Speaker 6: Big was just like you don't watch Big Sunday night.
- 1:28:22Speaker 9: It was just Big is a classic ABC.
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: I don't have anything.
- 1:28:29Speaker 6: You don't have any TV at all?
- 1:28:31Speaker 4: Well, a lot of people don't have the networks, Yeah,
- 1:28:34Speaker 4: because they don't pay for cable or they don't you don't.
- 1:28:38Speaker 6: If you have a TV, you automatically get four or five, Like.
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: It's not basic cable. I don't even but you don't even.
- 1:28:46Speaker 5: Need like a streaming service like any TV would actually
- 1:28:50Speaker 5: get your How do they get the channels by turning
- 1:28:53Speaker 5: on the TV.
- 1:28:54Speaker 4: You need some type of reception unless you so you're.
- 1:28:58Speaker 5: Telling me, you guys pay all this money to cut
- 1:29:00Speaker 5: the cord and you don't even and you don't even
- 1:29:02Speaker 5: get ABC.
- 1:29:03Speaker 9: You don't get four or five.
- 1:29:04Speaker 6: The heck, boy, I'll tell you guys really convincing me.
- 1:29:10Speaker 2: I know what you're talking about.
- 1:29:11Speaker 3: Back in the day, when I would get grounded, I
- 1:29:13Speaker 3: would get my cable box taken away, like.
- 1:29:15Speaker 2: Just with that out of my room. But I could
- 1:29:20Speaker 2: watch the Celtics play the cable.
- 1:29:22Speaker 7: If you're cutting, you're cutting the cord.
- 1:29:24Speaker 9: That's what cutting the cord is.
- 1:29:25Speaker 4: You're cutting the cable cord from the wall to the TV.
- 1:29:27Speaker 5: Well, don't you get chance what the cable cord is cut?
- 1:29:31Speaker 6: The we can't watch TV.
- 1:29:32Speaker 2: Funny story.
- 1:29:34Speaker 4: Somebody has to be serving you the channels.
- 1:29:37Speaker 3: Funny story about my Celtic spandom. The year I became
- 1:29:40Speaker 3: all in with the Celtics was the playoffs leading to eight.
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: It's because I was in trouble and the only thing
- 1:29:46Speaker 3: I could watch in my on my TV was basic
- 1:29:48Speaker 3: cable in my room.
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: I would get my box taken away and I would
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: get my card.
- 1:29:54Speaker 6: When I was a girl had stage, my.
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: Mom would take my bedroom door off benches.
- 1:30:00Speaker 9: You were one of those.
- 1:30:05Speaker 2: It was always because my sisters and I were stealing
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: each other's clothes, So.
- 1:30:09Speaker 4: You had your door taken off the hinges so you
- 1:30:11Speaker 4: couldn't close it.
- 1:30:12Speaker 9: Correct we didn't.
- 1:30:15Speaker 4: Did you have your own bathroom, you share a bad.
- 1:30:17Speaker 3: I shared it with all three of my siblings or
- 1:30:20Speaker 3: four of us, summing it just had a modest ranch.
- 1:30:29Speaker 3: My friends that had two floors in their houses and
- 1:30:31Speaker 3: like a staircase. I thought they were rich, you know level.
- 1:30:36Speaker 3: I thought my grandparents were millionaires.
- 1:30:43Speaker 4: Anthony wants to comment on my take on rings. You said, Fred,
- 1:30:47Speaker 4: you're neglecting to consider us constant fidgets and absent minded folks.
- 1:30:51Speaker 4: I wore a gold ring for all of two weeks
- 1:30:54Speaker 4: before I dropped and lost it while fidgeting it within
- 1:30:56Speaker 4: my yard. My wife decided she wasn't dropping money on
- 1:30:59Speaker 4: another ring for me, and I've been a rubber ring
- 1:31:02Speaker 4: guy ever since. We're still married five years later. By
- 1:31:04Speaker 4: the way, it's good.
- 1:31:08Speaker 9: Some people do the tattoo. I understand what friend's saying.
- 1:31:10Speaker 9: It's not like I have a job that is like
- 1:31:12Speaker 9: labor intensive.
- 1:31:13Speaker 6: But even your hobbies aren't really later, not at all?
- 1:31:22Speaker 9: Did uh I? Did you know think about investing in
- 1:31:25Speaker 9: a Cowboy remote this offseason?
- 1:31:27Speaker 4: Cowboy?
- 1:31:29Speaker 9: That's so you can go frame by Yeah, that's how
- 1:31:31Speaker 9: the that's how the coaches watched the film.
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: Just wait for the neuralink and I'll just.
- 1:31:35Speaker 4: Plug into your brain and here's some trivia. If you
- 1:31:38Speaker 4: can remember old pf W employee Jason Ricker. Remember his
- 1:31:45Speaker 4: his wedding ring was so heavy and back then we
- 1:31:49Speaker 4: were always entering new subscribers. We'd get the batch and
- 1:31:52Speaker 4: he'd have to enter it. He would have to take
- 1:31:54Speaker 4: off his ring because it was well, he was a righty,
- 1:31:57Speaker 4: but it was like weighing him down.
- 1:31:59Speaker 9: Yeah, I was worried about that. When I was picking
- 1:32:02Speaker 9: them out, I was thinking about that, and it's like,
- 1:32:04Speaker 9: you know so much typing. I don't want to be
- 1:32:07Speaker 9: way down or haven't like watches.
- 1:32:10Speaker 4: People, you don't wear your wedding ring. I lost mine
- 1:32:14Speaker 4: and I never replaced it. But if I did replace it,
- 1:32:17Speaker 4: I would replace it with something substantial, because to me,
- 1:32:20Speaker 4: it's a you know, it's a thing that says it's
- 1:32:24Speaker 4: a symbol. Right, So rubber ring to me is like,
- 1:32:27Speaker 4: this is what you think about our marriage.
- 1:32:31Speaker 2: That's a great way to look at it. I'm going
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: to adopt that.
- 1:32:33Speaker 8: You know, I don't wear mine at all, because you know,
- 1:32:36Speaker 8: you're saying it's on the inside, my commitments on the inside.
- 1:32:38Speaker 6: I don't need to prove to anybody this.
- 1:32:40Speaker 9: Is a really good this is a really good example
- 1:32:43Speaker 9: to say, guys, but what is that?
- 1:32:45Speaker 21: What is that?
- 1:32:47Speaker 9: It's titanium? Because we looked, we looked at a bunch
- 1:32:50Speaker 9: of different ones, and I could just not stomach spending
- 1:32:54Speaker 9: the money on gold, Like I told Jess, like, don't,
- 1:32:56Speaker 9: don't do it, Like gold is crazy expensive right now.
- 1:33:00Speaker 9: And I was like, if you drop over a thousand
- 1:33:02Speaker 9: dollars on a gold ring, I am going to be mad, Like,
- 1:33:05Speaker 9: don't do that, Sterling.
- 1:33:06Speaker 4: But if she did, you would wear it proudly.
- 1:33:10Speaker 9: Of course, But it just wasn't a good financial investment.
- 1:33:13Speaker 4: I understand.
- 1:33:13Speaker 2: But I feel like if I was a guy, I'd
- 1:33:15Speaker 2: rather her buy me a Rolex.
- 1:33:17Speaker 9: That's what I said. I didn't say Rolex, but I said,
- 1:33:19Speaker 9: I'd rather you buy me a nice watch.
- 1:33:21Speaker 4: I we're talking ten thousand.
- 1:33:22Speaker 9: Things, but I would, But like, I don't know if
- 1:33:26Speaker 9: you're spending that much on a gold ring, That's exactly
- 1:33:29Speaker 9: what I said.
- 1:33:31Speaker 2: Rolex, or like a nice at least at at least
- 1:33:33Speaker 2: like an Omega watch.
- 1:33:34Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:33:37Speaker 6: Probably the reason.
- 1:33:40Speaker 4: Is you wear it every day. Like sometimes depending especially women,
- 1:33:44Speaker 4: depending on what you're wearing, you don't want to wear
- 1:33:46Speaker 4: that watch because it doesn't go with.
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: When you wear it.
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: You know that's fair.
- 1:33:51Speaker 9: Yeah, I agree with that. That's what I told her.
- 1:33:54Speaker 9: I said, I'd rather you buy me a nice watch
- 1:33:57Speaker 9: with the same money then, because this is to me
- 1:33:59Speaker 9: is just the same. It's just I have to have
- 1:34:01Speaker 9: something there to say I'm married. It doesn't matter.
- 1:34:06Speaker 6: I don't think you're not taking this seriously.
- 1:34:08Speaker 4: What do you mean?
- 1:34:11Speaker 6: What else is it's supposed to be to me, it's
- 1:34:13Speaker 6: just living in a binding lifetime contract.
- 1:34:17Speaker 2: She knows we're going to talk about the wedding.
- 1:34:18Speaker 9: So she's like, I don't understand what was wrong with
- 1:34:21Speaker 9: saying that.
- 1:34:22Speaker 6: I'm dismissive.
- 1:34:23Speaker 9: I'm not a blanky person, so I'm not like looking
- 1:34:26Speaker 9: for like something crazy.
- 1:34:28Speaker 4: Like yeah, Ja writes in for Evan, he says that
- 1:34:34Speaker 4: aggressive energy was just me flirting with you.
- 1:34:37Speaker 9: Oh what I thought of it was no, But we
- 1:34:43Speaker 9: we sat at a table with James and Claire classy
- 1:34:48Speaker 9: Claire for a while. So when I saw James's picture,
- 1:34:50Speaker 9: I was like, that's definitely James. I knew right away.
- 1:34:53Speaker 9: But it was fun. It was aggressive energy.
- 1:34:55Speaker 4: Now people are sending pictures, now you send them for them.
- 1:34:59Speaker 8: I hope that was a good even for the listeners,
- 1:35:00Speaker 8: they could probably guess you gotta be watching on video
- 1:35:02Speaker 8: to see the pictures.
- 1:35:03Speaker 3: Well, they probably feel like we do in the sense
- 1:35:04Speaker 3: of I don't want to look at these pictures now,
- 1:35:07Speaker 3: don't look.
- 1:35:08Speaker 2: Just blindly forward them to do or we'll just wait
- 1:35:11Speaker 2: six months.
- 1:35:11Speaker 9: You'll forget.
- 1:35:12Speaker 6: Anyways, it's like, that's actually your wife, fred.
- 1:35:19Speaker 5: I forgot.
- 1:35:23Speaker 4: Let's see a lot of emails coming in, a lot
- 1:35:26Speaker 4: of calls.
- 1:35:27Speaker 11: Uh.
- 1:35:28Speaker 4: That one Boston fan, that's what he calls himself for herself,
- 1:35:33Speaker 4: was thinking about Rabel last Rabel season where he played
- 1:35:36Speaker 4: seventy plus players and got into the playoffs. You think
- 1:35:40Speaker 4: that with that chip on his shoulder, that might be
- 1:35:43Speaker 4: the reason we are not going hard after players like
- 1:35:47Speaker 4: McLaurin and Hendrickson, since he thinks he can win with
- 1:35:50Speaker 4: any players.
- 1:35:52Speaker 6: I don't think that I do about that.
- 1:35:54Speaker 8: I mean, I think buying that anybody here would sign
- 1:35:56Speaker 8: up for Henderson or McLaurin today.
- 1:36:00Speaker 6: We don't know that they're not trying.
- 1:36:01Speaker 8: I mean, it's those guys are under contract, sem like
- 1:36:03Speaker 8: they're you know, it's not like you can make them an.
- 1:36:05Speaker 5: Offer, especially McLaurin. You know Henderson, there's certainly enough animosity
- 1:36:11Speaker 5: there that I think he could be had someone wants
- 1:36:13Speaker 5: to get aggressive.
- 1:36:16Speaker 2: From Flora.
- 1:36:17Speaker 5: Yeah, McLaurin, LA's going to mess with Daniel's right. I
- 1:36:20Speaker 5: had a whole thing yesterday where Adam Peters and McLaurin
- 1:36:26Speaker 5: specifically said, you know, my goal is to get it
- 1:36:29Speaker 5: worked out here. He's telling you he wants to stay here.
- 1:36:32Speaker 5: Whereas what is right now.
- 1:36:36Speaker 2: Live instagrams geotech from Florida.
- 1:36:39Speaker 6: I make Henderson may be available.
- 1:36:41Speaker 2: It's an open road.
- 1:36:42Speaker 21: Speaking of symbolism, I think the I think he's a
- 1:36:46Speaker 21: good fit for what they need and what they want
- 1:36:48Speaker 21: to do, and to bring him into that rotation seamless fit,
- 1:36:52Speaker 21: I think it'd be a great grab.
- 1:36:54Speaker 9: Yeah, I just feel like a lot of these told
- 1:36:56Speaker 9: in told outs, whatever you want to call them, I'm
- 1:36:58Speaker 9: kind of not buying them anymore. It's so seldom that
- 1:37:02Speaker 9: these guys actually get traded. Even if you formerly request
- 1:37:06Speaker 9: a trade, it often doesn't even end up in a trade.
- 1:37:09Speaker 9: It's just a negotiating tactic, bargaining chip. So you know,
- 1:37:14Speaker 9: Hendrickson maybe is a little bit more real, But I
- 1:37:16Speaker 9: still think both those guys end up playing for Washington
- 1:37:19Speaker 9: and Cincinnati at.
- 1:37:20Speaker 8: The end of how does that work though, Like, I mean,
- 1:37:22Speaker 8: the teams have I know the Patriots have cap space,
- 1:37:25Speaker 8: but you know, in terms of budget and cash spending
- 1:37:27Speaker 8: within the season, you get to July, are team still
- 1:37:30Speaker 8: budgeted to take on a contract like that, to take
- 1:37:33Speaker 8: on a Trey Hendrickson and all right, and we're gonna
- 1:37:35Speaker 8: have to give them a huge deal now too, or
- 1:37:38Speaker 8: you know, do the owners think like your money was
- 1:37:40Speaker 8: spent back, you know, by the draft.
- 1:37:42Speaker 4: Like team to team. Yeah, And like Paul will say,
- 1:37:45Speaker 4: if they really want the guy, they'll figure it out,
- 1:37:48Speaker 4: you know, if they if that means they have to
- 1:37:50Speaker 4: cut a few other people or restructure some other contracts,
- 1:37:53Speaker 4: if they really want them, they can do it. Yeah,
- 1:37:56Speaker 4: They'll have to figure it out.
- 1:37:58Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 1:37:58Speaker 9: I think that that's a a big reason why the
- 1:38:01Speaker 9: compensation in terms of the trade isn't always as high
- 1:38:04Speaker 9: as we might think is because you have to pay
- 1:38:06Speaker 9: the guy. And that as an NFL team, even though
- 1:38:09Speaker 9: as the outside looking in we might say, oh, I'd
- 1:38:11Speaker 9: give up a first round pick for Terry mccaorran in
- 1:38:13Speaker 9: the second Well, you're giving up a first round pick
- 1:38:16Speaker 9: and you're paying him thirty million dollars a year, so
- 1:38:18Speaker 9: it usually it's one or the other. If they're under contract,
- 1:38:21Speaker 9: then the team gets the draft compensation. If they're not
- 1:38:24Speaker 9: under contract, and the trade values a little bit less.
- 1:38:26Speaker 9: So like Henderson, for example, i'd be interested to see
- 1:38:28Speaker 9: what he actually got in a trade. I think McLaurin
- 1:38:31Speaker 9: would still get a lot. A prime wide receiver, I
- 1:38:34Speaker 9: think would still get a lot. But Henderson's a good player.
- 1:38:37Speaker 9: But I don't know if he's getting, you know, more
- 1:38:39Speaker 9: than like a Day two pick.
- 1:38:40Speaker 4: Yeah, what did we say he was thirty one?
- 1:38:43Speaker 6: Yeah he's thirty one.
- 1:38:44Speaker 5: Yeah, him and TJ watter a similar age. But yeah,
- 1:38:48Speaker 5: I mean I could see both sides of that. But
- 1:38:51Speaker 5: it's going to cost you the contract, so that keeps
- 1:38:53Speaker 5: the probably keeps the compensation down a little bit.
- 1:38:55Speaker 6: I keep saying I would give a first round pick
- 1:38:57Speaker 6: for McLaurin.
- 1:38:58Speaker 5: Probably wouldn't have to, probably wouldn't cost you that, but
- 1:39:02Speaker 5: I definitely would be interested.
- 1:39:03Speaker 4: In Katina and Houston writes in she says, Alex's hair
- 1:39:07Speaker 4: looks so shiny. I'm obsessed with it. What is she doing?
- 1:39:11Speaker 4: I also like her blouse. She looks great. I love
- 1:39:13Speaker 4: it when she graces the show with her presence. So, Gap,
- 1:39:24Speaker 4: what shampoo conditioner are you using?
- 1:39:26Speaker 2: I don't use hair products.
- 1:39:29Speaker 4: Okay, I use there we go, There, we go on.
- 1:39:32Speaker 3: I grew out all the blonde, so natural color going.
- 1:39:35Speaker 3: That's why it's not fried and it's shiny. Spending a
- 1:39:39Speaker 3: lot of time in the ocean during the week.
- 1:39:41Speaker 4: So you don't use hair products.
- 1:39:43Speaker 2: Yeah, like wash your hair, yes, But what I use
- 1:39:45Speaker 2: shampoo conditioners product. I'm talking product in terms of like
- 1:39:50Speaker 2: heat protector. No, no, no, I just.
- 1:39:54Speaker 6: Next level product.
- 1:39:54Speaker 4: We're man.
- 1:39:55Speaker 6: We only shampoo conditioners.
- 1:40:00Speaker 4: Angler. Yes, there's the left hand side and the right
- 1:40:03Speaker 4: hand side. The left hand side is you know, seven
- 1:40:07Speaker 4: dollars to fifteen dollars. The right hand side you can
- 1:40:11Speaker 4: spend one hundred dollars.
- 1:40:12Speaker 3: On a bottle of conditions, which want like the very
- 1:40:16Speaker 3: generic side. Okay, I try to get one that doesn't
- 1:40:19Speaker 3: have like PIFAs and the crop in it.
- 1:40:23Speaker 2: I don't know. Sometimes you use Monday conditioner Monday shampoo, Yeah,
- 1:40:26Speaker 2: of course, but I'm not strict with it.
- 1:40:29Speaker 9: Okay, you know it's just all natural.
- 1:40:33Speaker 4: What do you use evan because you have a thick head.
- 1:40:37Speaker 9: Had I don't know what it's called to be honest
- 1:40:39Speaker 9: with you. But someone recommended it to me because I
- 1:40:44Speaker 9: guess I was. I was like doing the opposite of it,
- 1:40:46Speaker 9: like my hair.
- 1:40:49Speaker 4: Hair.
- 1:40:50Speaker 9: I was like drying out my hair, but not on purpose.
- 1:40:53Speaker 9: And I had like a barber once so being like,
- 1:40:55Speaker 9: we need to get you some better shampoo because you're
- 1:40:58Speaker 9: you're drying out your your scalp here. And I was like, oh,
- 1:41:02Speaker 9: I didn't even know I was doing that.
- 1:41:04Speaker 2: So do you blow dry it?
- 1:41:08Speaker 7: With?
- 1:41:10Speaker 5: Speaking of uh, you know, hygiene and products, anybody using
- 1:41:15Speaker 5: the soap?
- 1:41:17Speaker 4: Yeah, I got, I.
- 1:41:18Speaker 9: Did, I gotta kid.
- 1:41:19Speaker 6: Yeah, I did get a review of all the bars.
- 1:41:21Speaker 5: It was fine.
- 1:41:22Speaker 4: That's good.
- 1:41:22Speaker 6: It's just I don't generally use bars soap, as you
- 1:41:25Speaker 6: guys know. And you got the soap. You can't say
- 1:41:28Speaker 6: you didn't get the soap.
- 1:41:29Speaker 2: You're doing unboxing.
- 1:41:31Speaker 6: Don't drop it. I also used the moisturizer a little bit.
- 1:41:34Speaker 6: It's good.
- 1:41:35Speaker 5: It's good stuff, and I uh one of the bars
- 1:41:38Speaker 5: of soap was a blueberry bar.
- 1:41:40Speaker 6: But I believe Casey you ate it.
- 1:41:42Speaker 5: In content, you know, in our office, you know, she
- 1:41:45Speaker 5: stole that one from me.
- 1:41:46Speaker 6: She liked the smell.
- 1:41:47Speaker 4: I was like, no, fore No. My wife was tickled
- 1:41:49Speaker 4: that came from Brute, Alabama, so.
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: She liked that.
- 1:41:53Speaker 4: Nice.
- 1:41:54Speaker 6: So I did try it. It's it's good. I got
- 1:41:56Speaker 6: to bring it home.
- 1:41:56Speaker 5: But like you know, I was telling Beth about the
- 1:41:58Speaker 5: you know, the membrane and between Yah, so you don't
- 1:42:02Speaker 5: want too many membranes, right, Yeah, so that wasn't She
- 1:42:05Speaker 5: liked that. Yeah, she thinks you're insane, but she knows you.
- 1:42:08Speaker 4: So she knows that Grant and Stockport UK all the time.
- 1:42:13Speaker 4: You guys refer to Paul shows. After listening to Patriots
- 1:42:16Speaker 4: unfilter for the last six years, I think I know
- 1:42:18Speaker 4: which shows you're referring to nine eight point five. But
- 1:42:21Speaker 4: are they actually Paul shows? Does he own them? Is
- 1:42:24Speaker 4: he the boss over there?
- 1:42:25Speaker 9: Which one are his?
- 1:42:27Speaker 6: Please?
- 1:42:27Speaker 9: Just swumming here, just Beasley Media.
- 1:42:30Speaker 2: He drives that car for modesty.
- 1:42:31Speaker 4: Paul shows are any show that will have him on
- 1:42:34Speaker 4: or might have him on in the future. Those are
- 1:42:37Speaker 4: Paul shows.
- 1:42:40Speaker 5: I had to turn one down because we got camp
- 1:42:42Speaker 5: shows popular yesterday I was it was on yesterday.
- 1:42:48Speaker 4: So Paul's been on a lot of shows, so they're
- 1:42:49Speaker 4: all his shows.
- 1:42:51Speaker 9: Him and Barth big time of year for those fillains
- 1:42:53Speaker 9: right now. You know, everybody's on vacation and stuff like that.
- 1:42:56Speaker 4: It's like, do we know anyone that knows Patriots? Yeah,
- 1:42:58Speaker 4: bringing Barth exactly.
- 1:43:01Speaker 6: Time to shine.
- 1:43:02Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely, Let's go to uh the hotline. Sean's in Vancouver.
- 1:43:09Speaker 4: What's up, Sean.
- 1:43:11Speaker 16: Mazletovvan?
- 1:43:12Speaker 9: That's great.
- 1:43:13Speaker 16: I have a question for you. I know you had
- 1:43:16Speaker 16: a civil ceremony, but did just buy an elegant dress
- 1:43:19Speaker 16: and you rented the tucks or did you just go
- 1:43:23Speaker 16: fairly uh dressed casual?
- 1:43:26Speaker 20: Or how did how did you what were you wearing?
- 1:43:29Speaker 9: What was what was I wearing? I wore a suit,
- 1:43:32Speaker 9: new suit, bought a new suit for the occasion, which
- 1:43:34Speaker 9: I thought was warranted, and just did wear a wedding dress?
- 1:43:37Speaker 4: Yeah? So not like.
- 1:43:40Speaker 9: No, like a dress like a dress like there's no
- 1:43:43Speaker 9: what's a train? Yeah I know I don't know that,
- 1:43:48Speaker 9: but we're not taught. We didn't.
- 1:43:50Speaker 11: We didn't.
- 1:43:52Speaker 9: It was very pretty. We did not like a ton
- 1:43:55Speaker 9: of money on it. It's not like she went to
- 1:43:56Speaker 9: one of those bridal places and spent like five grand
- 1:43:59Speaker 9: on a wedding dress.
- 1:44:00Speaker 16: Is we're not even five Okay? Well, yeah, here's my
- 1:44:02Speaker 16: pet Peeves like I don't understand most traditional weddings where
- 1:44:06Speaker 16: women will drop so much money on a dress that
- 1:44:09Speaker 16: they hopefully only wear once, and men rent a tuck
- 1:44:13Speaker 16: where there's so many black tie occasions to wear a tuck.
- 1:44:17Speaker 16: It's to me, should we opposite? Like I think men
- 1:44:20Speaker 16: should buy a tuck, some women should rent to dress.
- 1:44:23Speaker 9: That's a good. I wore a suit that I purchased,
- 1:44:26Speaker 9: and I did that on purpose because I think I'll
- 1:44:30Speaker 9: be wearing it probably multiple times.
- 1:44:33Speaker 6: So yeah, exactly, So Sean, are you married by any chance?
- 1:44:37Speaker 11: No?
- 1:44:38Speaker 13: No, I have never even fallen in love.
- 1:44:40Speaker 5: Oh no, I'm sad to hear that response. But like
- 1:44:44Speaker 5: the fact that you think that your wife should rent
- 1:44:47Speaker 5: a dress, would tell me probably not.
- 1:44:50Speaker 6: Keep that one in the back. I would keep I
- 1:44:52Speaker 6: would keep that one in the whole start run something.
- 1:44:54Speaker 2: But he has a dress, so there's whole websites.
- 1:44:57Speaker 4: Can people do it?
- 1:44:58Speaker 2: And also a big trend now is like you wear
- 1:45:01Speaker 2: the dress your mom or grandmother got married, or.
- 1:45:04Speaker 5: You take your dress and then you have it into
- 1:45:06Speaker 5: like a christening gown for your first born daughter.
- 1:45:12Speaker 9: Her bouquet is getting made into something into it. I
- 1:45:15Speaker 9: think a painting of some sort like.
- 1:45:19Speaker 6: The high view of a football game maybe where you
- 1:45:21Speaker 6: can see all the players.
- 1:45:22Speaker 2: So they press the flowers.
- 1:45:24Speaker 9: Yeah, you put it in a.
- 1:45:25Speaker 2: C It's like a near from from you, like the
- 1:45:29Speaker 2: one you have from your white tux.
- 1:45:32Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:45:32Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:45:34Speaker 4: Speaking of tuxes, I think we've talked about this other show.
- 1:45:37Speaker 4: Thanks Sean, appreciate the call. I'm vehemently against proms where
- 1:45:43Speaker 4: kids have to rent tuxes. I just think that's so
- 1:45:46Speaker 4: the stupidest thing.
- 1:45:48Speaker 2: Expensive are their dress codes for them. You can't just
- 1:45:50Speaker 2: wear soup no proms.
- 1:45:52Speaker 4: You don't have to wear a to but people do,
- 1:45:54Speaker 4: and they feel pressured to do that.
- 1:45:56Speaker 5: You know, well, what's the well, I' that's the same
- 1:46:01Speaker 5: for everything. It's kind of pressure to.
- 1:46:03Speaker 4: I don't think why are we adding pressure on mostly
- 1:46:06Speaker 4: their parents for having to rent them. It tucks to
- 1:46:09Speaker 4: go to a stick.
- 1:46:11Speaker 5: Proms are expensive, and I get that, but I would
- 1:46:15Speaker 5: be much more pushing back against the whole promposal thing
- 1:46:19Speaker 5: that you have to do something special on social media
- 1:46:23Speaker 5: and it has to be some elaborate like whatever.
- 1:46:28Speaker 6: Just had you want to go to the problem with me?
- 1:46:30Speaker 4: I could see if Sophia Vogara to go with you
- 1:46:33Speaker 4: but if you're I wonder why you brought that name up,
- 1:46:35Speaker 4: well because she was in the news with one Thomas Edward.
- 1:46:39Speaker 9: Brady's Patrick Thomas Edward Patrick.
- 1:46:43Speaker 4: But yeah, I don't think kids should be pressured into
- 1:46:46Speaker 4: renting tuxes to go to a dance. And then you're
- 1:46:50Speaker 4: you're with, like, what's the percentage of high school romances
- 1:46:54Speaker 4: that end up lasting? It's probably like ten percent experience if.
- 1:46:58Speaker 2: That if probably gets lower every day.
- 1:47:01Speaker 5: Yeah, I would even wonder what is the percentage of
- 1:47:04Speaker 5: high school prom dates that are actual couples, right, I'll
- 1:47:10Speaker 5: bet you that's you know, smaller and smaller.
- 1:47:12Speaker 6: I went with a girl friend a girlfriend.
- 1:47:15Speaker 9: A friend that's a girlfriend that's a girl. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:47:18Speaker 9: I had high school. But I recommend the suit route
- 1:47:27Speaker 9: for the wedding because now I have the suit, and
- 1:47:29Speaker 9: we have a lot of occasions to wear a suit too,
- 1:47:31Speaker 9: Like we if we try to Josh all, we have
- 1:47:34Speaker 9: friends that are getting married because we're that age, so
- 1:47:36Speaker 9: like we're always getting invited to weddings. So it's like now,
- 1:47:39Speaker 9: I said to the guy when I bought it, I
- 1:47:41Speaker 9: was like, this is not a one time you know.
- 1:47:44Speaker 4: As long as you can keep your figure. Well, then
- 1:47:47Speaker 4: you'll have it for a long time.
- 1:47:49Speaker 2: Oh my god, it's not so hard for me.
- 1:47:54Speaker 5: You can't work out worried, you can't need anything that.
- 1:47:59Speaker 11: Too.
- 1:48:01Speaker 4: Ryan's in Canada. Hey Ryan, Hi, how are you doing Okay?
- 1:48:08Speaker 20: So I've I've been watching the show for like four
- 1:48:11Speaker 20: years now, so probably since like Mac was drafted. No,
- 1:48:17Speaker 20: hopefully we hear some better news about the offensive here.
- 1:48:21Speaker 20: So my question is, you know, we have a really
- 1:48:24Speaker 20: elite corner group. We got Gonzales and Davis, but I
- 1:48:29Speaker 20: look at the nickelback and I don't really.
- 1:48:33Speaker 13: Know what's going on there.
- 1:48:34Speaker 20: Like we got Marcus Jones, but I find him more
- 1:48:38Speaker 20: as a special teams player on pun return. And I
- 1:48:43Speaker 20: see Alex Austin and you know, he's had his moments
- 1:48:48Speaker 20: when he gets on the field, but it hasn't been
- 1:48:51Speaker 20: much that he's been on the field.
- 1:48:54Speaker 13: So do you think we keep.
- 1:48:56Speaker 20: Alex Austin as a nickel or do you think we
- 1:49:00Speaker 20: maybe bring in another body before camp and see how
- 1:49:04Speaker 20: things go.
- 1:49:05Speaker 6: Yeah, I think there's a good subtle Questionniky spot.
- 1:49:09Speaker 9: Yeah, I think they're bigger questions with the team right now,
- 1:49:11Speaker 9: but it's certainly something to watch and They've talked a
- 1:49:13Speaker 9: lot about using a big nickel. A guy that's got
- 1:49:15Speaker 9: a little bit more size maybe plays a little bit
- 1:49:17Speaker 9: more safety as well. So you know, how are they
- 1:49:20Speaker 9: gonna mix and match up. I think Marcus Jones gonna
- 1:49:22Speaker 9: play though. I think he's gonna be when they want
- 1:49:25Speaker 9: to go man to man and play you know, three
- 1:49:28Speaker 9: true corners, then I think Marcus Jones is gonna be
- 1:49:30Speaker 9: in the slot more times than not. I would agree,
- 1:49:33Speaker 9: but maybe it will be another body that's a little
- 1:49:35Speaker 9: bit bigger that in certain packages when they want to
- 1:49:38Speaker 9: go to three safeties or they want to go to
- 1:49:40Speaker 9: more size in the slot. It's an Alex Austen, It's
- 1:49:43Speaker 9: a Craig Woodson, it's you know, someone like that. But
- 1:49:46Speaker 9: I still think Marcus Jones is the guy.
- 1:49:48Speaker 8: Or Austin frees up Gonzalez to move around a little
- 1:49:51Speaker 8: bit too. You know, maybe that's an option. But I
- 1:49:53Speaker 8: agree with everything even said it's an interesting spot Isaiah Bolden.
- 1:49:56Speaker 8: We saw him get some reps there. You know, I
- 1:49:57Speaker 8: never really played there, but there's some options. Good friends, Okay,
- 1:50:03Speaker 8: I'm not.
- 1:50:06Speaker 16: Sorry.
- 1:50:06Speaker 20: My only uh like thing about Marcus Jones is a
- 1:50:10Speaker 20: size like there's just a couple of times.
- 1:50:13Speaker 13: I mean, he wasn't like his Jonathan Jones injuries and stuff.
- 1:50:18Speaker 20: Last year, Marcus had to play outside a bunch and
- 1:50:22Speaker 20: you know, like you had Jarrett Wilson who was kind.
- 1:50:24Speaker 13: Of like at the height of vantage on.
- 1:50:28Speaker 20: So that's just like the one thing I'm kind of
- 1:50:31Speaker 20: worried about with him.
- 1:50:32Speaker 9: But right well, he's not. If he plays on the
- 1:50:34Speaker 9: inside though, then you're not thinking about like jump balls
- 1:50:37Speaker 9: down then, especially if you're a matchup specific to where
- 1:50:42Speaker 9: if he's facing off against one of those like shifty
- 1:50:45Speaker 9: slot receivers, like you're not worried so much about him
- 1:50:48Speaker 9: getting high pointed down the field. Like that's why you
- 1:50:50Speaker 9: have Carlon Davis here now, is to have another guy
- 1:50:53Speaker 9: that you can put on a six foot three receiver
- 1:50:56Speaker 9: so you're not putting a Jonathan Jones or a Marcus Jones.
- 1:50:59Speaker 9: So I think that would be what will be fun
- 1:51:00Speaker 9: about this group is that they can really match up
- 1:51:03Speaker 9: like body type wise too, not just skill level wise.
- 1:51:06Speaker 9: So I think they'll be all right.
- 1:51:08Speaker 5: The secondary is an area of strength overall. I do
- 1:51:12Speaker 5: have some some questions, but they would be more about depth.
- 1:51:15Speaker 5: Like with Marcus Jones, I agree with everything Evan just said.
- 1:51:19Speaker 5: In the slot, I think he's serviceable. I worry about
- 1:51:23Speaker 5: his durability. He hasn't really made it through seasons and
- 1:51:26Speaker 5: then to the free safety spot.
- 1:51:29Speaker 6: You know how that's going to.
- 1:51:30Speaker 5: You know, do they continue to want to play Dugger
- 1:51:33Speaker 5: and Peppers together? If so, which one of those guys
- 1:51:36Speaker 5: is more, you know, in the box than the other?
- 1:51:39Speaker 5: Is it Woodson? Is it you know Marcus EPs, the
- 1:51:42Speaker 5: guy we talked about Vrabel talked about him coming back
- 1:51:47Speaker 5: from the torn A c L as well. Jalen Hawkins
- 1:51:49Speaker 5: had some some reps there. Do they want to go
- 1:51:52Speaker 5: that way or do they want to try to see
- 1:51:54Speaker 5: if one of these extra corners is more of a
- 1:51:57Speaker 5: cover option in the back end, like Austin or Bolden,
- 1:52:01Speaker 5: one of these guys that has a little bit more
- 1:52:03Speaker 5: I think range. But the starters, you know, with Gonzales,
- 1:52:09Speaker 5: Davis and Marcus Jones, I think you could do worse
- 1:52:11Speaker 5: than that that trio around the league. I think plenty
- 1:52:14Speaker 5: of teams probably don't have as good a group as
- 1:52:16Speaker 5: those three.
- 1:52:17Speaker 4: Would you say that the majority of cornerbacks in this
- 1:52:21Speaker 4: league are under six foot.
- 1:52:25Speaker 6: Around there?
- 1:52:26Speaker 9: Six one? I think that's like if you look at
- 1:52:28Speaker 9: you know, Sir Tan Gonzo Stingley, they're all like six one.
- 1:52:33Speaker 4: When you get six one, six two and those are.
- 1:52:36Speaker 5: Yeah, I wouldn't say the majority are under six foot
- 1:52:38Speaker 5: though that's small.
- 1:52:39Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, I think six is probably about that five
- 1:52:42Speaker 8: eleven six, Yeah, Marcus Jones is like five eight.
- 1:52:46Speaker 4: Yeah, he's small. But I'm saying under six foot isn't
- 1:52:49Speaker 4: always a detriment as a cornerback.
- 1:52:51Speaker 9: No, because I think, you know, it's it's so matchup
- 1:52:54Speaker 9: specific nowadays, so like they're not you know, they have
- 1:52:57Speaker 9: the size now on the outside. And like I look
- 1:52:59Speaker 9: at a guy like Alex. If there's a week where
- 1:53:01Speaker 9: the Patriots are facing the receiver on the opposing team,
- 1:53:05Speaker 9: they're best receiver is a slot receiver, Well, you can
- 1:53:08Speaker 9: move Christian Gonzales inside to have him cover the slot
- 1:53:11Speaker 9: receiver and then put Alex Austin as another boundary corner
- 1:53:15Speaker 9: on the outside. Like that's where I feel like Alex d.
- 1:53:17Speaker 9: Austen's value is going to be, is that on weeks
- 1:53:20Speaker 9: where Gonzo's traveling inside a little bit more against a
- 1:53:23Speaker 9: certain matchup, they have that ability to have a third
- 1:53:25Speaker 9: true outside corner so that there isn't Marcus Jones that's
- 1:53:29Speaker 9: playing on the outside.
- 1:53:31Speaker 4: Mike and Main writes in he says, don't go crazy
- 1:53:34Speaker 4: when the offense struggles. Just wondering if we should put
- 1:53:38Speaker 4: a disclaimer out there for the fans. And Paul shows
- 1:53:42Speaker 4: that the defense could potentially be a top five at
- 1:53:45Speaker 4: least the top ten type defense, and the offense is
- 1:53:48Speaker 4: new with a handful of new players, hiccups should be expected.
- 1:53:52Speaker 4: Just dreading all the offense struggles again headlines in my feet.
- 1:53:57Speaker 8: Well, I mean, I get what he's saying, but at
- 1:53:58Speaker 8: the same time, to see Drake make some strides. I
- 1:54:01Speaker 8: want to see Stefan Diggs be an elite player, and
- 1:54:04Speaker 8: those are things that that should pop.
- 1:54:06Speaker 5: You know, I'm not going to pretend that it's not
- 1:54:08Speaker 5: going to be a big deal if the offense looks
- 1:54:11Speaker 5: terrible again in camp.
- 1:54:12Speaker 8: I mean, Morgan Moses isn't expected those guys either.
- 1:54:17Speaker 5: I think it should be better. You have better coaching,
- 1:54:19Speaker 5: You have a quarterback in year two who should be
- 1:54:22Speaker 5: better than he was. You have Stefan Diggs who is
- 1:54:25Speaker 5: vastly superior to anything you've had in the last couple
- 1:54:28Speaker 5: of years. You should be better well, And I don't
- 1:54:30Speaker 5: need you to light it up every day a practice,
- 1:54:32Speaker 5: but I don't care what the defense especially needs.
- 1:54:35Speaker 4: To complete passage advantage. We have now, especially me and
- 1:54:39Speaker 4: Paul Is, we've seen what a really good offense looks
- 1:54:42Speaker 4: like in camp, and we've also now seen what a
- 1:54:45Speaker 4: real bad offense looks like in camp. So we've got
- 1:54:48Speaker 4: those two, you know, polar opposites to gauge what we're looking.
- 1:54:54Speaker 5: And you also know when you watch plays and you
- 1:54:56Speaker 5: can say that wasn't a that offense wasn't bad. The
- 1:55:02Speaker 5: defense just made a really good play. You could tell
- 1:55:05Speaker 5: when Gonzo mirrors the guy down the sideline and bunts up,
- 1:55:08Speaker 5: jumps up with one hand and picks off a pass
- 1:55:09Speaker 5: like he did late in the last mini camp day
- 1:55:12Speaker 5: that we got to watch. You know, you know the
- 1:55:15Speaker 5: difference between good defense and bad offense.
- 1:55:18Speaker 6: You can tell.
- 1:55:19Speaker 9: I just don't expect the offense to be that bad,
- 1:55:21Speaker 9: like to what the emailer was saying, you know, and.
- 1:55:24Speaker 5: I think if it does look that bad, it is
- 1:55:26Speaker 5: cause for concern.
- 1:55:27Speaker 9: Sure, But McDaniels with Drake May it was Stefon Diggs
- 1:55:32Speaker 9: now here. I mean, I'm super excited to see Stefon
- 1:55:34Speaker 9: Diggs just practice, because we haven't seen that around here.
- 1:55:37Speaker 9: We haven't seen the receiver of that caliber practice and
- 1:55:40Speaker 9: training camp for the Patriots have seen it. Other teams
- 1:55:43Speaker 9: come in with receivers like that, and every time we
- 1:55:45Speaker 9: do it's you know, Devonte Adams in Vegas or AJ
- 1:55:48Speaker 9: Brown last year out there, you know against the Eagles
- 1:55:51Speaker 9: and the joint practices, it's just said, your your jaw
- 1:55:55Speaker 9: is just like on the floor, like, holy crap, that's
- 1:55:57Speaker 9: what it looks like.
- 1:55:57Speaker 8: I just say, I get the point, though. I think
- 1:55:59Speaker 8: the are tired of having a dysfunctional offense. And really
- 1:56:03Speaker 8: it's been three seasons of that, and you know, I
- 1:56:06Speaker 8: look back to twenty twenty two when that was I
- 1:56:07Speaker 8: think my third season of camp. But in hindsight, that
- 1:56:10Speaker 8: is so dysfunctional and it took some strides. The next
- 1:56:14Speaker 8: year with Bill O'Brien coming in, it looked a little better.
- 1:56:16Speaker 8: But I just I think fans are sick of it.
- 1:56:18Speaker 8: They just want a functional offense that they can feel
- 1:56:21Speaker 8: excited about, that can put points on the board.
- 1:56:23Speaker 5: It's been and you see it like the Patriots had
- 1:56:25Speaker 5: some unbelievably good defenses like two thousand and four, Yeah,
- 1:56:31Speaker 5: two thousand and four, defense didn't dominate every practice, Like
- 1:56:35Speaker 5: you can have a good defense and still complete passes
- 1:56:38Speaker 5: in practice or still you know, run a functional offense.
- 1:56:42Speaker 5: They have not had a functional offense in practice in
- 1:56:44Speaker 5: camp for the last three years.
- 1:56:46Speaker 8: Yeah, at least at least I mean no, I mean
- 1:56:49Speaker 8: twenty twenty was Cam Newton. I mean it wasn't really
- 1:56:51Speaker 8: camp because of COVID. But I mean, you know, the
- 1:56:53Speaker 8: point stands, it.
- 1:56:54Speaker 4: Never looked right no matter what they did, it just
- 1:56:57Speaker 4: didn't look like.
- 1:56:58Speaker 5: I do expect them to be better on deep than
- 1:57:00Speaker 5: they were last year. I don't, you know, not to
- 1:57:03Speaker 5: the point where you can't complete passes in practice if
- 1:57:05Speaker 5: you have a good offense.
- 1:57:07Speaker 4: Craig in Vegas wants to know if Terrell Williams is
- 1:57:11Speaker 4: back defensive coordinator.
- 1:57:12Speaker 6: He is he very the lead. You didn't I thought
- 1:57:15Speaker 6: you did mention that in your bookkeeping at the time.
- 1:57:17Speaker 19: I did.
- 1:57:18Speaker 6: I don't think I did. That was our bady, Terrell.
- 1:57:23Speaker 4: Big T.
- 1:57:24Speaker 8: This might cause him big T a lot of lot.
- 1:57:26Speaker 8: I mean, he said he's the only defensive line coach
- 1:57:28Speaker 8: he's ever had. Were able to talked a little bit
- 1:57:31Speaker 8: about how he can talk to anybody on the roster.
- 1:57:33Speaker 8: It's not just about his defensive lineman when he was
- 1:57:35Speaker 8: defensive line coach, but also helping offensive lineman.
- 1:57:38Speaker 6: So I think it's a nice boost right at the camp.
- 1:57:39Speaker 8: I mean, you hoped he would be here, a little
- 1:57:42Speaker 8: bit of a thing he had to work around in
- 1:57:43Speaker 8: the spring, but now that he's here, I think they'll
- 1:57:45Speaker 8: be okay.
- 1:57:45Speaker 9: Great reputation from a defensive line especially. I mean some
- 1:57:49Speaker 9: of the Dan Campbell, like some of the coaches he's
