- 2:28SPEAKER_03: Um my computer's like locking up at the moment.
- 2:34SPEAKER_06: So I'll be quiet for the freeze.
- 2:36SPEAKER_03: This is how we get things started around here.
- 2:39SPEAKER_03: I'm I'm uh I'm getting a bell in my ear every time I try and click something.
- 2:44SPEAKER_03: Like I got something open and I can't find out I can't find where it is.
- 2:48SPEAKER_03: It's so uh hold on a second here.
- 2:51SPEAKER_03: Let me just uh do this and uh and uh do do this.
- 2:58SPEAKER_06: So he's eventually gonna freeze and then we're gonna lose him, and then I'll stay by the shawl and tell you what you guys uh you guys um here's here's what happened.
- 3:09SPEAKER_03: So I went looking for that video we were talking about just before we started.
- 3:14SPEAKER_03: And I went to open- Oh, there it is.
- 3:16SPEAKER_03: There, that's what I'm that's what's going on there.
- 3:22SPEAKER_03: So let me just close that.
- 3:26SPEAKER_03: And uh there we go.
- 3:27SPEAKER_03: We're good.
- 3:28unknown: Okay.
- 3:29SPEAKER_03: Let's uh can we start this all over?
- 3:31SPEAKER_06: Yeah, hold on, come o'clock already.
- 3:33SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 3:33SPEAKER_03: No, no, no.
- 3:34SPEAKER_03: We won't play the music or anything like that.
- 3:36SPEAKER_03: But but uh uh let's try this.
- 3:38SPEAKER_03: Welcome, you sick twisted freaks to the uh Alpha Men podcast, season six, episode three from the uh Granted Capital of the World.
- 3:46SPEAKER_03: My name is TJ Michaels, my partner in crime from Trinity, North Carolina.
- 3:50SPEAKER_03: We call him Baby Huey.
- 3:51SPEAKER_03: John Stacy is here.
- 3:52SPEAKER_03: How are you, my friend?
- 3:53SPEAKER_03: Doing well.
- 3:54SPEAKER_06: Yeah, coming from surgery, but I'm feeling better.
- 3:56SPEAKER_06: Back to work.
- 3:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and we got some guests tonight.
- 3:59SPEAKER_03: Uh Liam uh Web Liam the Web guy is with us, and uh and sometimes Randy is with us right now as well.
- 4:07SPEAKER_03: And uh we're gonna we're gonna get to those two in uh in just a moment, but um they opened a spirit Halloween shop in Barrie, Vermont, John.
- 4:16SPEAKER_06: Really?
- 4:17SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 4:17SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:21SPEAKER_03: Uh the uh what what is Joanne's Fabrics went out of business.
- 4:27SPEAKER_03: And they opened a spirit Halloween shop.
- 4:29SPEAKER_03: What's that?
- 4:30SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 4:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Joanne's gotten a wow.
- 4:32SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, they went bankrupt.
- 4:34SPEAKER_03: Hobby lobby put them.
- 4:35SPEAKER_03: Hobby, well, my wife is a huge Hobby Lobby person.
- 4:39SPEAKER_03: So uh Joanne Fabrics went deep six.
- 4:42SPEAKER_03: That's what happened.
- 4:42SPEAKER_06: So Hobby Lobby's up there now?
- 4:45SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, yeah, in the mall where JC Penny's used to be.
- 4:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 4:48SPEAKER_03: They went out.
- 4:51SPEAKER_03: JC Penny is gone.
- 4:52SPEAKER_06: I have been the mall up there in years.
- 4:54SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 4:55SPEAKER_03: So wow.
- 4:56SPEAKER_03: So my wife went and I went down just because we were curious.
- 4:59SPEAKER_03: We don't we don't really dress up for Halloween anymore or do any of that stuff.
- 5:02SPEAKER_06: Our kids are all grown, but not with your face, you don't need to.
- 5:05SPEAKER_06: That's true.
- 5:06SPEAKER_03: Absolutely true.
- 5:07SPEAKER_06: Fix your camera.
- 5:09SPEAKER_03: Fix my low.
- 5:13SPEAKER_03: Alright.
- 5:14SPEAKER_03: So um we went down because um, you know, we were just bored.
- 5:19SPEAKER_03: And I got all those animatronics in there and all that other stuff, and we thought, well, we'll just go down and take a walk around.
- 5:25SPEAKER_03: Could use a new wig for the uh man court segment, you know.
- 5:29SPEAKER_03: Uh but uh we went in and I was shocked.
- 5:34SPEAKER_03: Like, you know how every year it's gotten worse and worse and worse, and women like are dressing like sexier and sexier and sexier.
- 5:45SPEAKER_03: You know, like they're saying this year you should start thinking about what you're gonna do now because you're not gonna be able to pull off this year the usual sexy TSA agent.
- 5:57SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 5:57SPEAKER_03: Uh that's it's it you're getting too old, or because TSA agents have become a protected species this year.
- 6:04SPEAKER_03: I don't know why, but um, they're saying sexy costumes for Halloween are out this year.
- 6:12SPEAKER_03: All right, new new survey people were asked uh the most overdone costumes and the most popular answer was the sexy version of anything.
- 6:25SPEAKER_03: 29%.
- 6:27SPEAKER_03: You know, runner up was pirate costumes.
- 6:30SPEAKER_03: 25% said, Yeah, we've had enough of those.
- 6:33SPEAKER_03: 22% said Joker costumes should be retired this year.
- 6:38SPEAKER_03: Others receiving votes included cowboys and cowgirls.
- 6:42SPEAKER_03: Uh, not the really, not the really bad football team, just actual cowboys and cowgirls.
- 6:47SPEAKER_03: Uh Harley Quinn, Hippies, Minions, Mimes, and Where's Waldo has uh apparently with the American public run its course.
- 6:55SPEAKER_06: You could never go around.
- 6:57SPEAKER_03: They got me thinking about the top five least sexy Halloween costumes for this year.
- 7:04SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 7:05SPEAKER_03: Like the um sexy Lindsay Clancy outfit.
- 7:09SPEAKER_03: Um that's not gonna make it.
- 7:13SPEAKER_03: The the sexy$1.50 Costco hot dog.
- 7:17SPEAKER_06: Well, what's wrong with that?
- 7:18SPEAKER_06: I like that one.
- 7:20SPEAKER_03: The sexy Ebola patient.
- 7:25SPEAKER_03: Or maybe maybe the sexy flock camera.
- 7:34SPEAKER_03: I guess I'm returning to the fish nets.
- 7:37SPEAKER_03: The uh sexy flock camera would be one.
- 7:42SPEAKER_03: And number one, top five least popular sexy Halloween costumes this year, sexy Mitch McConnell.
- 7:49SPEAKER_03: Just uh not a good idea.
- 7:51SPEAKER_03: Dang.
- 7:51SPEAKER_03: Not gonna be anyway.
- 7:55SPEAKER_03: Uh listen, we've got um a lot going on, and uh that's why we wanted to have Randy and Liam with us tonight as we get ready.
- 8:04SPEAKER_03: It's crazy to say this, but our 25th anniversary of Pack the Pantry stuff a truck, the uh Pack the Pantry Food and Funds Drive is uh coming up uh November 19th through the 21st, and everybody at Alpha Men Central has been working really kind of around the clock, except John.
- 8:26SPEAKER_03: Uh and working and working really, really hard uh to get everything done.
- 8:34SPEAKER_03: And and so uh Liam is our web guy.
- 8:37SPEAKER_03: And Liam, you've been you've been really busy.
- 8:40SPEAKER_03: And Randy is our designer, he designs like uh all of the stuff that goes out there uh to the public uh that's that's not AI, that John claims he does.
- 8:51SPEAKER_03: Um and uh Randy, you you got the collection kit done, am I right?
- 8:58SPEAKER_03: We're done.
- 8:59SPEAKER_05: I think as of 10 minutes ago, we are done.
- 9:01SPEAKER_03: Okay, we are done.
- 9:03SPEAKER_03: We are officially done.
- 9:04SPEAKER_03: And here's the deal um each and every year we um we produce this event for the Salvation Army um emergency food shelf.
- 9:14SPEAKER_03: And it's an organization that reaches uh so many people, and through three days of this event, we're we're able to fund them almost for the entire year.
- 9:24SPEAKER_03: Um, and in years past, Randy, you and I we had a radio station behind us.
- 9:30SPEAKER_03: We had all kinds of resources.
- 9:32SPEAKER_03: Uh, we could do all this stuff.
- 9:34SPEAKER_03: We still do have a radio station behind us in Star 92.9, we just don't work there anymore.
- 9:42SPEAKER_03: So uh we kind of have to put this thing together all ourselves and buy our lonesome, and we're really thankful that that Star 92.9 uh trusts us enough.
- 9:53SPEAKER_03: That's probably a mistake, uh, to um uh uh to do this event with them each and every year.
- 10:00SPEAKER_03: But we we have to go out, every single thing that's provided to make this event work, and and we're talking about what, like the the the uh blue compass RV that um that we live in for four days, uh the Bellavance truck, uh the scaffolding on the back of the truck that helps us get in and out comes from uh Sunbelt Rentals, the lighting, all everything down to the food that feeds our volunteers.
- 10:29SPEAKER_06: Yeah, the barriers that we got, yeah.
- 10:31SPEAKER_06: I mean we got the internet from T-Mobile, from Lazy Dog.
- 10:36SPEAKER_03: Everything is donated.
- 10:38SPEAKER_03: Everything.
- 10:39SPEAKER_03: Um truck we we don't we don't pay for anything, including all of the coverage that um we get from Star 92.9, which uh we love those guys, you know.
- 10:51SPEAKER_03: Uh Mary Sensi and Mike and Mary and uh and they're great, and and Ken Barlow and all of those folks.
- 10:57SPEAKER_03: Um we don't pay for that either.
- 10:59SPEAKER_03: There's there's one thing, however, that we cannot get donated.
- 11:05SPEAKER_03: And um that is a digital marketing campaign uh through social media and uh uh and all of that that that you can't just go to Google and say, hey, will you donate a bunch of ads to us?
- 11:18SPEAKER_03: It doesn't happen that way.
- 11:20SPEAKER_03: And so we rely uh each and every year on a bunch of sponsors uh who help us defray the cost of the one thing that we purchased to make the whole event work.
- 11:34SPEAKER_03: And uh we call them caring community partners, and they really are.
- 11:37SPEAKER_03: And and first up is Preston's Kia and uh Preston's Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram.
- 11:43SPEAKER_03: And uh Brian Preston and the gang over there, uh we we went to them and said, We need your help this year, and uh they stepped right up and they're ready to go, and um you know they they helped us out, but we have so many different people, John, who who come through.
- 11:57SPEAKER_06: Um I'm bringing up the sponsor list right now for me a second.
- 12:00SPEAKER_06: Somebody's just outloading.
- 12:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Wilkins, Harley, Davidson, and uh the folks at uh Gill's S Point Tire on the Barrymont Pelier Road.
- 12:10SPEAKER_03: And I mean, there are so many people that have come together to help us make this thing happen each and every year.
- 12:17SPEAKER_03: These guys right here.
- 12:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah, there you go.
- 12:20SPEAKER_03: There's all of them.
- 12:21SPEAKER_03: Believe it or not, it takes that many different local businesses to pull this thing off.
- 12:27SPEAKER_03: And we are so thankful and uh and grateful for them.
- 12:30SPEAKER_03: And one of the things, and we always do this uh every year, is uh when we talk to our community partners, and they come back year after year because we really do take care of them.
- 12:43SPEAKER_03: We we uh underpromise and over-deliver.
- 12:46SPEAKER_03: I get I guess yeah, is that how you put it, Randy?
- 12:49SPEAKER_03: Underpromise and over-deliver.
- 12:51SPEAKER_03: And um, you know, we uh we have to include them in in everything, and we want to because they really are part of the thing, and that means we have a thing called a collection kit, and so everybody's logo has to go on that collection kit, and then it has to be laid out correctly and everything else, and that's what Randy does, okay?
- 13:12SPEAKER_03: Uh, and then you know it has to go up online so you can download it, okay?
- 13:17SPEAKER_03: And uh and the web page this year, Liam's doing all of that, okay?
- 13:23SPEAKER_03: And the social media stuff is there, and Grok is doing all of that.
- 13:29SPEAKER_03: Um I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
- 13:35SPEAKER_03: Chat GPT is doing all of that.
- 13:38SPEAKER_06: Here's a web page that Liam has put together for us.
- 13:41SPEAKER_06: Uh it's called the VTPacthepantry.com.
- 13:45SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 13:45SPEAKER_06: Um we got the countdown clock going here.
- 13:47SPEAKER_06: We got the logos, we got the description of what's going on.
- 13:50SPEAKER_06: Um, we're still working on the QR code.
- 13:53SPEAKER_06: We know it works, but we have to check a couple things in the background.
- 13:56SPEAKER_06: But just below that is uh the download and print pack the pantry collection kit that Randy built and Liam put together here for us.
- 14:02SPEAKER_06: Uh, we're gonna have more stuff to the page.
- 14:04SPEAKER_06: We're gonna keep driving Liam nuts with different changes.
- 14:07SPEAKER_03: Liam, can we get like a big button that says download the collection kit?
- 14:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we're gonna have uh Chat GPT since uh John doesn't do anything around here.
- 14:17SPEAKER_04: Uh makeup.
- 14:19SPEAKER_03: I didn't get to what John does.
- 14:20SPEAKER_03: All right?
- 14:21SPEAKER_03: Hold on a minute.
- 14:21SPEAKER_03: I'm getting there.
- 14:22SPEAKER_03: Give me a second.
- 14:24SPEAKER_03: John has been really busy over the past couple of weeks uh whining and picking his nose.
- 14:31SPEAKER_03: So um, yeah.
- 14:33SPEAKER_04: You gotta be gotta be good at something.
- 14:38SPEAKER_03: Well, you know what they say.
- 14:40SPEAKER_03: I know what they say.
- 14:41SPEAKER_03: You can pick your nose, you can pick your friends, but you really shouldn't pick your friends' nose.
- 14:46SPEAKER_03: Just saying.
- 14:47SPEAKER_03: So uh, John John has uh John has uh mastered the algorithm of social media.
- 14:57SPEAKER_03: Uh or so he says.
- 14:58SPEAKER_03: He tells me about it about every 30 seconds.
- 15:01SPEAKER_03: Um and uh all of the stuff that you're seeing coming through on our Facebook page is is John pulling the strings on that.
- 15:09SPEAKER_03: Okay, so John uh actually is God, I hate to give him credit.
- 15:14SPEAKER_03: I really do I have to give him Randy, do I have to give him credit?
- 15:19SPEAKER_03: I mean I mean really really chat GPT's doing all the work.
- 15:26SPEAKER_03: I mean, you know what I mean?
- 15:27SPEAKER_03: It's like no, John's doing John's John's doing stuff.
- 15:32SPEAKER_03: And look, uh, I started putting this thing together in early August.
- 15:36SPEAKER_03: So, I mean, it is a uh it it takes a long, long time to put this whole thing together.
- 15:42SPEAKER_03: And so having said that, we really do need you to do a couple of things.
- 15:48SPEAKER_03: Alright.
- 15:49SPEAKER_03: One, we want you to go to vtpackthepantry.com.
- 15:54SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 15:55SPEAKER_03: And uh and the reason we want you to do that is because Liam's worked really hard on it and he's really really proud of it.
- 16:02SPEAKER_03: And and and it should be noted.
- 16:05SPEAKER_03: Alright.
- 16:06SPEAKER_03: Um, the other part is our collection kit is there.
- 16:09SPEAKER_03: Randy, tell people what the collection kit is.
- 16:12SPEAKER_05: It's got everything you need to start a collection with your uh school, business, wherever, any group, social group that you have.
- 16:20SPEAKER_05: Um it's got it's got the posters, it gives you ideas on how you can collect some fun things to do to make your collection fun and uh to get people to donate.
- 16:29SPEAKER_03: Uh yeah, and it it has a letter that you can distribute to co-workers or or people within your organization or at your school.
- 16:36SPEAKER_03: Um, it it also, I noticed this year, you went all out on this thing.
- 16:40SPEAKER_03: It's got like the steps on how to organize your your canned food drive, four easy steps.
- 16:47SPEAKER_03: And uh, we also have a QR code in there for you to share your progress with us on the uh pack the pantry Facebook page, uh, which is uh which is pretty cool.
- 16:57SPEAKER_03: And um uh it literally, here's the deal.
- 17:01SPEAKER_03: Uh normally when people do canned food and uh drives, they s they they set out all these barrels and they drive around for weeks dropping barrels off.
- 17:10SPEAKER_03: Um if you watch the news and you've seen that lady on the news where she goes, I ain't got no time for that.
- 17:16SPEAKER_03: I ain't got no time for that.
- 17:18SPEAKER_03: Okay, so the idea behind the pack the uh collection kit is you go to the website, you download it right to your computer, you print it out, you grab a box from the break room at work, you decorate your own box, and you start filling it, and it's got signage and you know all the information you need to get things going.
- 17:39SPEAKER_03: It's got tips on theme days and all kinds of other stuff.
- 17:43SPEAKER_03: It's it's really remarkable.
- 17:45SPEAKER_03: And Randy uh is like one of the hardest guys working on this whole thing right now, unlike Jeremy.
- 17:53SPEAKER_06: It's hard to get a hold of, but yeah.
- 17:54SPEAKER_03: He is hard to get a hold of, and sometimes you don't want to get a hold of him, all right?
- 17:59SPEAKER_03: Because you've asked him to make seven different changes, and well, we'll be honest, you get you you get a little moody, right?
- 18:09SPEAKER_03: Here's the here's the I mean I would too if somebody asked me to do change it seven times.
- 18:15SPEAKER_05: But unfortunately, I don't I'm fully moody.
- 18:19SPEAKER_03: No, no, no.
- 18:19SPEAKER_03: I'm not looking, I'm not I'm not criticizing you at all.
- 18:22SPEAKER_03: Listen, if you'd asked me to do what I asked you to do, I'd have been like no.
- 18:30SPEAKER_03: Um but uh you know what we all believe in this, and that's why we get it done every year.
- 18:35SPEAKER_03: And we go through what we go through and making sure that everybody's happy and that everybody who has invested in us and in this event, and in less four less fortunate central Vermont families, because that's who it benefits, um, a hundred percent of it all stays local.
- 18:51SPEAKER_03: Uh, if you invest in us, we're gonna make sure it's right, everything's right.
- 18:56SPEAKER_03: And um, and and that's how it works.
- 18:59SPEAKER_03: Uh example, one of the changes we had to make today.
- 19:03SPEAKER_03: Uh, we got um news from Gill's S Point Tires.
- 19:08SPEAKER_03: And uh they came on this year as a sponsor, and we're happy to have them, and we're excited to have them.
- 19:14SPEAKER_03: Um, but you know, in the shaking things around, one of us jumped online, it's probably John, let's be honest, and just grabbed and just grabbed a logo.
- 19:25SPEAKER_06: All right?
- 19:25SPEAKER_06: I did, I did.
- 19:26SPEAKER_06: That was my fault.
- 19:28SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 19:29SPEAKER_03: Well, he was responsible for the war, too.
- 19:31SPEAKER_03: Um all of them, basically.
- 19:35SPEAKER_03: Uh and and the the logo we we grabbed was not Gill's S point tires, it was just S point tires.
- 19:45SPEAKER_03: So when I showed it to Gill's S point tires, they went, hey, where's the where's the Gills and Gill's S point tires, right?
- 19:54SPEAKER_03: And so we had to change that, right?
- 19:57SPEAKER_03: So, you know, all of those things happen, and uh we want to make sure that um uh that they're happy and and and everybody's happy.
- 20:04SPEAKER_03: Because listen, at the end of the day, it's 25 years.
- 20:10SPEAKER_03: And Liam, I know you were around a little bit last year poking around with 802 Scoop and and the folks over there whom we love as well.
- 20:18SPEAKER_03: We want to thank uh uh Ray Lee and uh Michael Bootin for all of the help that they give us each and every year.
- 20:24SPEAKER_03: But um uh, you know, uh I know you were you were poking around a little bit last year, but for Randy and John and I, um, well, Randy, it's the beginning.
- 20:38SPEAKER_03: In the beginning, Randy, you were like six, so yeah.
- 20:41SPEAKER_03: Um very simple.
- 20:42SPEAKER_03: I can't I don't think we could say 25 years for Randy.
- 20:46SPEAKER_03: This is my 14th, 14th for you.
- 20:50SPEAKER_06: 25 for me.
- 20:52SPEAKER_03: Can I tell the Randy radio story?
- 20:54SPEAKER_03: Which one can the first time I met Randy Le Prat?
- 20:58SPEAKER_03: Oh no.
- 21:00SPEAKER_03: First time I met Randy LeBrad.
- 21:02SPEAKER_03: Okay, uh, we were not Frank FM, we were work FM, and we were top 40, and we did a promotion where we gave away a bunch of tickets to see Britney Spears, the Black Onyx tour, and we took a bus, so good, and we took a bus to see Britney Spears, the Black Onyx tour, and my oldest daughter at that time was like, Oh my god, I love Britney Spears, I love Britney Spears.
- 21:32SPEAKER_03: So I got because I had connections with the record company, I got like front row seats for me and my daughter.
- 21:41SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 21:42SPEAKER_03: But but we get on the bus, and there's Randy, young Randy, sitting with his mother, and he was the he was the biggest Britney Spears fan I met on that trip.
- 21:57SPEAKER_03: I mean, he was all about it.
- 22:00SPEAKER_03: And how old were you then?
- 22:04SPEAKER_03: 10?
- 22:05SPEAKER_03: 10 years old?
- 22:07SPEAKER_03: He was 10 years old.
- 22:10SPEAKER_03: Are you older than my oldest daughter, or are you younger?
- 22:13SPEAKER_03: How old is she?
- 22:15SPEAKER_03: Uh, I think she's 30, 29, 30, somewhere around there.
- 22:19SPEAKER_03: I'm older.
- 22:20SPEAKER_03: You're older?
- 22:21SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 22:21SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 22:22SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 22:23SPEAKER_03: I will tell you this.
- 22:24SPEAKER_03: We went and we were so close.
- 22:28SPEAKER_03: Brittany came out on stage, and my daughter's there like this.
- 22:33SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 22:34SPEAKER_03: And she comes out in this latex suit.
- 22:38SPEAKER_03: Like, I could tell what religion she was.
- 22:40SPEAKER_03: That's that's how tight the suit was, right?
- 22:43SPEAKER_03: She comes out, my daughter's like, and I'm sitting next to my daughter, like, it was really a weird moment, okay?
- 22:55SPEAKER_03: And I kind of immediately went, all right, you're with your daughter, knock it off.
- 22:59SPEAKER_03: You know what, you know, you know what I mean?
- 23:02SPEAKER_03: So uh that's kind of the deal.
- 23:04SPEAKER_06: But listen, um We have some big announcements though for for Pack Packed the Panther this year.
- 23:10SPEAKER_06: We do.
- 23:10SPEAKER_06: Again.
- 23:11SPEAKER_06: We got Santa.
- 23:14SPEAKER_03: We do have Santa coming Friday night live and direct from the North Pole.
- 23:19SPEAKER_03: And uh he is gonna take photos with the kids, and the kids are gonna be able to tell Santa what they want for Christmas this year, and on top of that, um, it is a great opportunity to show kids at the same time what giving and the holiday spirit is all about because you can bring that donation down, whether it's a couple of cans or a bag of food or whatever.
- 23:44SPEAKER_03: We'll let the kids put the food on the back of the truck.
- 23:48SPEAKER_03: Obviously, help them to make sure that you know everything's safe, but um, it's a great way to show them what giving is all about.
- 23:57SPEAKER_03: And so Friday evening, live and direct from the North Pole, the big guy, and when I say the big guy, I mean Santa, not John, uh, is gonna be there.
- 24:07SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 24:07SPEAKER_06: So uh that's Liam.
- 24:12SPEAKER_06: They're both coming, they said.
- 24:13SPEAKER_06: So we also have who else is coming?
- 24:17SPEAKER_03: Uh uh the 802 Ghostbusters.
- 24:23SPEAKER_03: 802 Ghostbusters are coming, yes.
- 24:25SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 24:26SPEAKER_03: And they were so they were so fun last year.
- 24:28SPEAKER_03: They really were.
- 24:29SPEAKER_03: Awesome.
- 24:30SPEAKER_03: Um, they're from Rutland, they drive a long way, an hour and a half, hour and 15 minutes to get here, you know, and they come, they came last year, it was their first year last year, and they had a blast.
- 24:43SPEAKER_03: And at the end of it, I said, so uh, because I do this with everybody, can we count on you next year?
- 24:50SPEAKER_03: And they were like, absolutely, absolutely.
- 24:54SPEAKER_03: So we asked, and and and uh they're gonna be there uh I believe Saturday around noon, maybe 11, 11 a.m., 12 uh the November the uh 21st.
- 25:06SPEAKER_06: Last year they said noon and they showed up like 11.
- 25:08SPEAKER_06: They showed up like an hour early.
- 25:09SPEAKER_06: And it was cold, they were still hanging out.
- 25:11SPEAKER_03: That's all right.
- 25:12SPEAKER_03: They're wearing jump, they're wearing overalls, they're wearing jumpsuits.
- 25:14SPEAKER_03: They're they're fine.
- 25:16SPEAKER_06: We're still waiting on uh the 50 501st.
- 25:20SPEAKER_03: 501st, the Green Mountain Squad, um, the the folks who uh uh do the Star Wars stuff, uh the stormtroopers from Star Wars.
- 25:31SPEAKER_03: Um they said they were coming back last year.
- 25:33SPEAKER_03: We've contacted them.
- 25:34SPEAKER_03: We're just waiting for a confirmation, and they uh will be there probably Saturday morning.
- 25:39SPEAKER_03: So um we like to make Pack the Pantry kind of the idea behind it is like the circus has come to town.
- 25:48SPEAKER_03: There's always something happening, you know?
- 25:50SPEAKER_06: And uh I've asked uh up weather, not groups like that, but you know, uh the governor.
- 25:57SPEAKER_06: I've seen if he can come being a 25th anniversary.
- 26:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we've invited Governor Phil Scott.
- 26:02SPEAKER_06: I've invited some race race car teams to see if they can come.
- 26:06SPEAKER_06: Okay, it's all w weather dependent, so yeah.
- 26:09SPEAKER_06: And uh we have a new dress out.
- 26:12SPEAKER_03: We have a new sponsor this year in real bounce.com, and weather provided, we might be able to get him, you know, a bouncy fun house one one of the days.
- 26:20SPEAKER_03: I you know, we'll see.
- 26:21SPEAKER_03: Awesome.
- 26:21SPEAKER_03: We'll see.
- 26:22SPEAKER_03: We'll see.
- 26:22SPEAKER_03: Um, but he's uh uh Rick Choquette, real good friend of mine, and um thanks Rick for stepping up and and and helping out.
- 26:29SPEAKER_03: We uh we appreciate it.
- 26:31SPEAKER_03: That's the thing.
- 26:32SPEAKER_03: Um, over 25 years, you've heard us on the radio and all over the place.
- 26:37SPEAKER_03: And um, you know, look, my wife and kids don't even listen to me.
- 26:42SPEAKER_03: I'm not sure why you listen to me about this.
- 26:44SPEAKER_03: Um uh, but for some reason uh we've been able to be a bunch of guys with big mouths who inspire people to come together and um uh to really take care of our own because we really do live in a special place, and all of this food, a hundred percent of it, uh goes to less fortunate Central Vermont families.
- 27:06SPEAKER_03: And we're talking about single moms and dads who are trying to get back on their feet.
- 27:10SPEAKER_03: We're talking about the elderly, uh, we're talking about people who are struggling.
- 27:14SPEAKER_03: Um, and uh having to make that decision of uh do I purchase my prescriptions this week or do I buy food?
- 27:22SPEAKER_03: Do I purchase heating oil or do I buy food?
- 27:25SPEAKER_03: Um, you know, do I pay my rent or do I buy food?
- 27:28SPEAKER_03: And listen, we understand the times that we are living in.
- 27:35SPEAKER_03: Look, I've been to the grocery store.
- 27:37SPEAKER_03: I'm not immune to it either.
- 27:39SPEAKER_03: I look at the prices and I go, Good lord, how can you ask that for a package of Oreos?
- 27:47SPEAKER_03: You know?
- 27:47SPEAKER_03: Um, I understand.
- 27:49SPEAKER_03: Everything is expensive, and uh a lot of us, uh I would dare say the majority of us have a lot less walking around money than than we had last year, all right, and the years prior.
- 28:03SPEAKER_03: All right, but um, you know, inflation hits people the hardest who are already in trouble.
- 28:13SPEAKER_03: And what is a problem for those people becomes an absolute crisis when inflation hits.
- 28:21SPEAKER_03: And so this year uh we're gonna we're gonna ask you to help us ram it full, okay?
- 28:28SPEAKER_03: Uh, because we've got uh our friends at Preston's, Kia, Chrysler, Dodge Jeep, and Ram uh with us this year, and they are going to give us, no, I'm not give us, they're going to loan us for the event.
- 28:42SPEAKER_03: I have to be careful how I say this because John immediately you go, man, I got a new RAM truck.
- 28:47SPEAKER_03: Holy cow, that is awesome.
- 28:49SPEAKER_06: Driving home.
- 28:51SPEAKER_03: I fly up.
- 28:51SPEAKER_06: I'll drive home.
- 28:53SPEAKER_03: They're going to let us use the Preston's Ram truck to pick up any delivery that gets too large.
- 29:01SPEAKER_03: So we're going to be able to go out and and actually, you know, if you can't get to us and you have a donation, and you know, we'll we'll send the Preston's Ram pickup after it.
- 29:11SPEAKER_03: Okay?
- 29:12SPEAKER_06: Now and go are they going to set the truck up at the dealership beforehand?
- 29:18SPEAKER_06: I'm not calling them out.
- 29:19SPEAKER_06: I was just wondering if it's something that's going to show up, like kick it off thing.
- 29:22unknown: I don't know.
- 29:24SPEAKER_06: I'm not calling you guys out at all.
- 29:25SPEAKER_06: I'm just sure if that how it worked.
- 29:28SPEAKER_03: There's going to be a ram pickup truck with us over at uh Market 32.
- 29:32SPEAKER_03: Gotcha, gotcha.
- 29:33SPEAKER_03: And they are doing their own internal fundraising and canned food drive at Preston's.
- 29:38SPEAKER_06: That's what I was that's what I was wondering if if they're like the challenge.
- 29:40SPEAKER_03: What I'd like Preston's to do, and um, you know, Prestons, uh they're they're great people.
- 29:46SPEAKER_03: I'd love to get them to get uh a challenge going with all the other car dealerships in the area and see if we can see if we could get like we used to, yeah.
- 29:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:57SPEAKER_03: So um that that would be great.
- 29:59SPEAKER_06: But how how far along do you think we're gonna be by Friday night?
- 30:02SPEAKER_06: We'll do a little prediction for four of us.
- 30:04SPEAKER_06: We hope prediction.
- 30:06SPEAKER_03: Uh I think panels.
- 30:08SPEAKER_06: Oh, we lost Randy.
- 30:09SPEAKER_03: Go ahead, Randy.
- 30:10SPEAKER_03: You start.
- 30:10SPEAKER_03: Oh, we lost Randy?
- 30:12SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 30:13SPEAKER_03: Well, Liam, this is only your like first or second year, right?
- 30:16SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 30:17SPEAKER_04: I was only poking around the first uh last year.
- 30:21SPEAKER_06: I will show you in the truck.
- 30:23SPEAKER_06: So if you look at the truck picture here, yeah, there's panels on each side of the truck.
- 30:27SPEAKER_03: There's John sleeping again.
- 30:28SPEAKER_03: Look at it.
- 30:29SPEAKER_03: You're sleeping too.
- 30:31SPEAKER_03: No, I'm resting, I'm resting my eyes.
- 30:34SPEAKER_03: There's a difference.
- 30:35SPEAKER_03: We always do that.
- 30:36SPEAKER_03: I'm not no, no, no, I'm not sleeping there.
- 30:39SPEAKER_03: Yeah, sure.
- 30:40SPEAKER_06: You take more naps than I do there.
- 30:41SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I'm usually but uh so we usually have Randy go out and do a live.
- 30:46SPEAKER_03: I'm also 15 years older than you.
- 30:48SPEAKER_06: Anyway, he does he does a live footage from the truck every year, Liam.
- 30:53SPEAKER_06: And we have him count the panels, and panels on the right hand side, left hand side as well.
- 30:58SPEAKER_06: Saying how many panel, how many panels are we in?
- 31:00SPEAKER_06: And we always get our hopes up.
- 31:02SPEAKER_06: We're not, you know, like this today.
- 31:05SPEAKER_06: We're gonna have 10 panels.
- 31:07SPEAKER_06: But what's what's let's do a little recorded guess of how many panels do you think we're gonna have by Friday night?
- 31:15SPEAKER_06: Friday night or Thursday night?
- 31:17SPEAKER_06: Friday night.
- 31:18SPEAKER_06: Thursday night we always have heart attacks and say we're never gonna make it.
- 31:21SPEAKER_03: Well, but here's the deal.
- 31:22SPEAKER_03: Last year we did something brand new, thanks to uh our friends at Sunbelt Rentals.
- 31:27SPEAKER_03: We're gonna do it again this year.
- 31:29SPEAKER_03: Um the first day is always really first day is always really slow.
- 31:34SPEAKER_03: Because you can tell people over and over and over again that you're doing it, uh, and they don't react instantly.
- 31:40SPEAKER_03: And the people who started collecting with the collection kits at work church or school, they want to wait till Friday afternoon, till the end of the work week to bring their stuff down.
- 31:49SPEAKER_03: So Thursday.
- 31:50SPEAKER_06: William Sound Elementary School is coming on board there.
- 31:53SPEAKER_06: Started the collection kit starting Monday morning.
- 31:55SPEAKER_03: Awesome.
- 31:56SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 31:57SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 31:58SPEAKER_06: All right, and my sister Abigail's running it.
- 32:02SPEAKER_03: So uh is she like reliable, like more reliable than you?
- 32:08SPEAKER_03: Yeah, she's a very good idea.
- 32:09SPEAKER_03: Okay, good.
- 32:10SPEAKER_03: All right, good, good, good.
- 32:11SPEAKER_03: All right, I'm just worried about that.
- 32:13SPEAKER_03: Um, so uh uh you well you just totally blew my whole train of thought here.
- 32:21SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's good.
- 32:22SPEAKER_03: So Thursday's generally slow, but last year the folks from uh Sunboat Rentals gave us a cherry picker.
- 32:29SPEAKER_03: And we did the five foot, we did the maybe we'll do it three foot this year.
- 32:33SPEAKER_03: I'm not sure which one we're gonna do.
- 32:34SPEAKER_03: We did three foot and five foot or five foot last year.
- 32:37SPEAKER_03: I don't remember what it was.
- 32:38SPEAKER_06: Brandon I went up a hundred feet, didn't we?
- 32:40SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
- 32:41SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we went all the way up there.
- 32:45SPEAKER_03: Brandon I went the furthest.
- 32:47SPEAKER_03: Yeah, okay.
- 32:48SPEAKER_03: Yeah, whatever.
- 32:49SPEAKER_03: That's not true.
- 32:50SPEAKER_03: Not true.
- 32:51SPEAKER_03: I'm a former fireman.
- 32:52SPEAKER_03: I am not afraid of that.
- 32:53SPEAKER_06: You do not, Brandy.
- 32:55SPEAKER_06: You want to confirm this?
- 32:56SPEAKER_03: Oh, we went higher for sure.
- 32:58SPEAKER_06: Yes, we did.
- 33:01SPEAKER_06: You were like, nope, nope, too scary, nope.
- 33:04SPEAKER_06: I ain't doing this, nope.
- 33:05SPEAKER_03: 25 years to this.
- 33:06SPEAKER_03: Maybe I'm just done with this.
- 33:08SPEAKER_03: Anyway, um, so we last year uh on the first day to encourage first day donations, uh, everybody who brought uh a bag of groceries, uh, we took the cherry picker up while we were live on Star 92.9, um, five feet.
- 33:26SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 33:27SPEAKER_03: And then once we got all the way to the top, we flipped the script and said, bring us another bag of groceries and we'll come down five feet until we were on the ground.
- 33:35SPEAKER_03: Uh we were we were up in the air from about 8.30 in the morning, and I think I think the the lift finally hit the ground about 6.15 that night.
- 33:44unknown: Yeah.
- 33:45SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 33:45SPEAKER_06: It was it was a long, it was a long day.
- 33:47SPEAKER_06: I was kind of when he said, you know, every time we bring a bag of grocery, I'll come back down further.
- 33:51SPEAKER_06: I was kind of like, I hope they don't bring any groceries.
- 33:54SPEAKER_06: So he stays up there.
- 33:55SPEAKER_06: But yeah, no, I know.
- 33:56SPEAKER_06: Well, we appreciated it.
- 33:58SPEAKER_03: My wife was handing John money.
- 34:00SPEAKER_03: Don't bring him down.
- 34:01SPEAKER_03: Just here's 20 bucks.
- 34:05SPEAKER_03: Leave him up there.
- 34:05SPEAKER_06: Here's 20.
- 34:06SPEAKER_06: It was windy up there too.
- 34:07SPEAKER_03: John John made like$150 off my wife by just leaving me in the air up there.
- 34:12SPEAKER_03: Anyway, um, so uh last year we had a a record first day.
- 34:18SPEAKER_03: Well, not a record, but we had a better first day than we've had probably in 15 years.
- 34:23SPEAKER_03: And it really so we're gonna do that again this year.
- 34:25SPEAKER_03: So you're asking me, what do I think?
- 34:28SPEAKER_06: How far are we gonna be?
- 34:30SPEAKER_06: Friday?
- 34:30SPEAKER_06: Well, we use we can do Thursday if you want.
- 34:33SPEAKER_06: No, let's do Friday.
- 34:35SPEAKER_06: Okay, Friday.
- 34:36SPEAKER_06: Friday.
- 34:38SPEAKER_03: I think it's gonna be look at everybody's working really hard.
- 34:41SPEAKER_03: Randy's working hard, Liam's working hard, I'm working hard, Chat GPT is working hard.
- 34:48SPEAKER_03: I think um I think it's gonna be huge this year, and I say how many total panels are there?
- 35:02SPEAKER_03: I think there's I think there's three I think we're gonna be by Friday evening, I think we're gonna be nine panels.
- 35:17SPEAKER_03: I think by from that's that's Friday at six pm.
- 35:23SPEAKER_03: Like no, like ten.
- 35:24SPEAKER_03: That's ten.
- 35:26SPEAKER_03: That's yeah, that's like Friday.
- 35:28SPEAKER_03: We're you know, other than the stuff that comes to us overnight.
- 35:31SPEAKER_06: All right, TJ, nine panels.
- 35:34SPEAKER_06: Nine panels.
- 35:35SPEAKER_06: That's what we'll do.
- 35:36SPEAKER_03: Liam?
- 35:37SPEAKER_04: I think by Saturday you guys are gonna be stacking food on top of each other.
- 35:41SPEAKER_04: I think the truck's gonna be full by Saturday morning at 8.
- 35:45SPEAKER_04: That'd be fantastic.
- 35:47SPEAKER_03: We need to know what Friday when an estimate.
- 35:49SPEAKER_03: There's 13 panels in the truck.
- 35:51SPEAKER_03: How many far back will we be by Friday night at 10 o'clock?
- 35:57SPEAKER_03: 13.
- 35:58SPEAKER_03: Huh?
- 35:59SPEAKER_03: 13.
- 36:00SPEAKER_03: Thinks we're gonna be full.
- 36:01SPEAKER_03: We're gonna call the second truck.
- 36:03SPEAKER_03: I I do have we have gone to two trucks in years past.
- 36:06SPEAKER_03: I do always have a second truck on standby.
- 36:09SPEAKER_03: Um, you know that this year, and Randy, you know this because I I know what you do for a living now.
- 36:16SPEAKER_03: You you know, you deal with a lot of people who are you know you know struggling, and um look, the cost of heating oil is astronomical this year.
- 36:27SPEAKER_03: Um, and what does that mean?
- 36:30SPEAKER_03: That that means that the emergency food shelf is going to get hit twice as hard this year, and that means that our effort needs to be twice as big, twice as strong, twice as successful.
- 36:44SPEAKER_03: And so, Liam, I hope you're right.
- 36:47SPEAKER_03: Uh I I have told the folks at Bellavance, as I do every year, have a second truck on standby because um if we need it, we're gonna we're gonna keep going, you know.
- 36:58SPEAKER_03: So what's your what's your thought, Randy?
- 37:03SPEAKER_05: I think it's gonna be a tough year, but I think we can do it.
- 37:07SPEAKER_05: What's your number?
- 37:08SPEAKER_05: My number?
- 37:10SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna go, I don't know.
- 37:13SPEAKER_06: I'm gonna go eight.
- 37:14SPEAKER_06: Um I got eight?
- 37:16SPEAKER_06: I'm going eight.
- 37:16SPEAKER_06: I'm I'm feeling the tough year thing too.
- 37:19SPEAKER_06: Even though it's 25th anniversary, I'm gonna say by Friday night 10 o'clock, I'm gonna say I'm gonna go the lowest and say six.
- 37:31SPEAKER_06: I hate and I hate to say that because it it really hurts my heart.
- 37:34SPEAKER_06: And you got Randy can vouch for this and you too, you feel this too.
- 37:40SPEAKER_06: But when TJ and I get in that trailer and look and it's it's a tough year, it hurts.
- 37:45SPEAKER_06: It stings.
- 37:46SPEAKER_06: It's not that nobody can do it, it's just it's here's the thing what do you call it?
- 37:53SPEAKER_03: Here's why here's why y'all are did I just say y'all?
- 37:57SPEAKER_03: Here's why here's why here's why you all are wet blankets, okay?
- 38:02SPEAKER_03: This whole thing 25 years ago started when I took it to the radio stations up on Jake Street in Perry, Vermont, which by the way are no longer there, which is why Randy and I don't have jobs.
- 38:20SPEAKER_03: That's why we're here, which is why we're here.
- 38:25SPEAKER_03: Um and uh and I took it to the management at the radio station, a guy who who now actually owns Star 92.9, Ken Barlow.
- 38:36SPEAKER_03: And uh I said, This is what I want to do.
- 38:40SPEAKER_03: And he looked right at me and goes, You're crazy.
- 38:44SPEAKER_03: There's no way you'll do that.
- 38:47SPEAKER_03: You can't do that.
- 38:49SPEAKER_03: Not e it'll never happen.
- 38:52SPEAKER_03: And I said, watch me.
- 38:57SPEAKER_03: And it's 25 years later, and so um, look, I understand the economics of this year.
- 39:07SPEAKER_03: We are not asking anybody to do things that um uh that they can that they can't afford to do.
- 39:15SPEAKER_03: We don't want you any do anything that you shouldn't do.
- 39:18SPEAKER_03: But um nobody can do everything, but everybody can do something.
- 39:23SPEAKER_03: Okay, and the smallest donation.
- 39:26SPEAKER_03: Wait, Randy, you know this and and and and John.
- 39:29SPEAKER_03: We have little kids walk up to us with one can in their hand every year.
- 39:34SPEAKER_03: Yep, absolutely.
- 39:34SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 39:36SPEAKER_03: And it it it will melt your heart.
- 39:39SPEAKER_06: Well, you hear the mom mommy says, I can't we can only give you this.
- 39:43SPEAKER_06: Can this help?
- 39:44SPEAKER_06: Yeah, absolutely.
- 39:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and that's the great thing about pack the pantry, is you know what?
- 39:50SPEAKER_03: It's about neighbors helping neighbors, and no one can do everything, but everyone can do something, and it does take everyone's help to make it happen.
- 40:00SPEAKER_03: So uh we're hoping you're gonna help out this year.
- 40:04SPEAKER_03: Go to VTPackThePantry.com.
- 40:09SPEAKER_03: You can download the collection kit right now.
- 40:12SPEAKER_03: Do it right now.
- 40:14SPEAKER_03: Um and you just print it.
- 40:16SPEAKER_03: What do you you haven't done it yet?
- 40:19SPEAKER_03: Seriously.
- 40:20SPEAKER_03: VT Pack the Pant.
- 40:22SPEAKER_03: What do you do it now?
- 40:24SPEAKER_03: Okay?
- 40:24SPEAKER_03: All right, print it out and uh and get collecting.
- 40:29SPEAKER_03: And um we're gonna have well, uh listen, I think you're all wrong.
- 40:33SPEAKER_03: I think we're going to have a mega year.
- 40:37SPEAKER_04: I think we're gonna have two trucks out there.
- 40:39SPEAKER_04: There you go.
- 40:40SPEAKER_06: Two I like you, I like it.
- 40:42SPEAKER_06: I hope we're also we're also gonna do uh before I forget sidetracked.

- 51:39SPEAKER_03: I've never heard of it.
- 51:40SPEAKER_03: Probably too young for Romancing the Stone.
- 51:42SPEAKER_03: I was too.
- 51:42SPEAKER_03: Romancing the Stone was a great movie.
- 51:45SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 51:46SPEAKER_03: And it was in that 1984 year when like Back to the Future and Top Gun and like you know, there were so many great movies that year.
- 51:57SPEAKER_03: Um but Michael Douglas having an affair with Kathleen Turner is about as sexy as hearing your grandpirants talk about their sex life these days.

- 52:27SPEAKER_03: Uh Netflix is making a Sesame Street movie.
- 52:32SPEAKER_03: But um experts warn be careful watching it with your kids.
- 52:38SPEAKER_03: I guess there's a scene where Oscar likes taking it in the can.

- 53:08SPEAKER_03: If you're watching tonight, tell me where that movie is from.
- 53:11SPEAKER_06: That's not Willy Walker.
- 53:12SPEAKER_03: I don't know what that is.
- 53:13SPEAKER_03: Nope.
- 53:15SPEAKER_03: That is no.
- 53:17SPEAKER_03: Nope.
- 53:19SPEAKER_03: That is from Bob and Doug Mackenzie's Strange Brew.
- 53:25SPEAKER_03: You know the guys on at Christmas time, they're like, the 12th day of Christmas, me.
- 53:31SPEAKER_03: Oh beer.
- 53:32SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 53:32SPEAKER_03: Those guys?
- 53:33SPEAKER_03: SCTV.
- 53:35SPEAKER_03: That's the scene where he was trapped in a beer vat and and and so he didn't drown, he drank the entire thing.
- 53:42SPEAKER_03: So he's all blown up.
- 53:44SPEAKER_03: And then like after that, he's like, it's Rick Moranis who went on to be in Spaceballs and Ghostbusters and everything else.
- 53:51SPEAKER_03: But he goes, his line in the movie at this point is, oh my god, I got a pea so bad I can taste it.
- 54:00SPEAKER_03: It's a great movie.
- 54:02SPEAKER_03: Uh definitely not highbrow, but uh worth the watch.
- 54:07SPEAKER_03: It's like one of those movies, it's so bad it's good.
- 54:09SPEAKER_03: So uh Mia Goth has filed for divorce from uh Shia Laboo under the reason for seeking divorce.
- 54:17SPEAKER_03: She wrote, um, I think it's obvious, isn't it?
- 54:22SPEAKER_03: Obvious.

- 54:34SPEAKER_03: I don't know if you saw that.
- 54:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I did.
- 54:36SPEAKER_03: And he decided it was okay because he followed that imitation chugging of a beer by doing an imitation of asking a designated driver to take him home.
- 54:44SPEAKER_03: So all's good.
- 54:46unknown: You know.
- 54:48SPEAKER_03: CBS fired Tony Romo four games into the NFL season this week.
- 54:54SPEAKER_03: You know, just another cowboy failing to make the playoffs.
- 54:58SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 55:00SPEAKER_06: Wow.
- 55:03SPEAKER_06: Dude, that Romo is awesome.
- 55:05SPEAKER_06: That is harsh, man.
- 55:07SPEAKER_06: You know what?
- 55:08SPEAKER_06: You suck, yeah, duckass.
- 55:11SPEAKER_06: That was that was a good one.
- 55:13SPEAKER_03: And finally, Jack Black uh played Ozzie Osbourne songs with his cover band.
- 55:19SPEAKER_03: Now, this may be news to a lot of people.
- 55:21SPEAKER_03: Jack Black has a cover band called Do you know the name of it?
- 55:25SPEAKER_03: Ozzie.
- 55:26SPEAKER_03: Jack Sabbath.
- 55:28SPEAKER_03: Oh clever.
- 55:30SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 55:31SPEAKER_03: And it was just like seeing Ozzie.
- 55:34SPEAKER_03: If instead of heroin and liquor, Ozzie had been addicted to like prime rib and Snickers bars.
- 55:38SPEAKER_03: It was it was almost the same thing.
- 55:43SPEAKER_06: Imagine have him as a friend.
- 55:45SPEAKER_06: His energy.
- 55:46SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 55:47SPEAKER_06: Oh my god.

- 56:06SPEAKER_07: The Alpha Men podcast keeps for the old cutter side.
- 56:24SPEAKER_07: Bring it on.
- 56:28SPEAKER_03: Random facts?
- 56:32SPEAKER_03: Five random facts.
- 56:33SPEAKER_03: Pretty quick.
- 56:34SPEAKER_03: Because uh, even in this gathering of brothers, you should at least learn something.
- 56:38SPEAKER_03: So let's get right to it.
- 56:40SPEAKER_03: Number one is what?
- 56:42SPEAKER_06: Oh.
- 56:46SPEAKER_03: Apparently they're not so random tonight.
- 56:49SPEAKER_06: No.
- 56:50SPEAKER_06: They're pretty good ones, though.
- 56:52SPEAKER_06: Alright.
- 56:52SPEAKER_06: So I wasn't ready for that, so I had to switch my screen here because I can't remember all this at the right now.
- 56:57SPEAKER_06: I'm not that smart.
- 56:58SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 56:59SPEAKER_06: We know Chat GPT.
- 57:01SPEAKER_03: We know, we know.
- 57:03SPEAKER_03: Did you just say you're not that smart?
- 57:05SPEAKER_06: Compared to Chat Gat GPT.
- 57:07SPEAKER_03: Yeah, we know.
- 57:10SPEAKER_06: All right.
- 57:11SPEAKER_06: In honor of October.
- 57:12SPEAKER_06: This is October for you people who don't know.
- 57:14SPEAKER_06: This is the month of October.
- 57:16SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 57:16SPEAKER_06: The prefix occ means eight, obviously.
- 57:19SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 57:20SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 57:20SPEAKER_06: Like octopus.
- 57:21SPEAKER_06: Right.
- 57:22SPEAKER_06: Octagon sides.
- 57:24SPEAKER_03: Yeah, right, right, right.
- 57:25SPEAKER_06: All right.
- 57:25SPEAKER_06: So why isn't October the eighth month instead of the 10th?
- 57:31SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 57:31SPEAKER_03: That's a good question.
- 57:34SPEAKER_03: That is it.
- 57:34SPEAKER_03: Wait a minute.
- 57:35SPEAKER_03: So October, you would think it would be eighth month, because Octagon, Octopus.
- 57:41SPEAKER_03: But it's not.
- 57:41SPEAKER_03: It's the 10th month.
- 57:43SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 57:44SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 57:44SPEAKER_03: So shock me.
- 57:45SPEAKER_03: Shocked me.
- 57:46SPEAKER_06: This one's pretty cool.
- 57:47SPEAKER_06: The ancient Roman lunar calendar only has 10 months.
- 57:51SPEAKER_06: So, you know, think about it, it'd be like December for us.
- 57:54SPEAKER_06: But the winter season was excluded from that.
- 57:58SPEAKER_06: Later, January and February were added to cover the gap.
- 58:00SPEAKER_06: Then January 1st became the beginning of the year.
- 58:03SPEAKER_06: And all the previous months were pushed back.
- 58:05SPEAKER_03: Were pushed back.
- 58:06SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 58:07SPEAKER_03: Alright.
- 58:07SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 58:08SPEAKER_03: Well, that makes sense.
- 58:10SPEAKER_06: But yeah, I mean, yeah, we if you once I read that fact, I was like, that makes sense.
- 58:14unknown: All right.
- 58:15SPEAKER_06: That makes sense.
- 58:15SPEAKER_06: Why would it be the 10th?
- 58:16SPEAKER_03: If you're watching tonight, did you know that?
- 58:18SPEAKER_03: Like, come on, somebody fess up.
- 58:20SPEAKER_03: Somebody's gonna say, I already knew that.
- 58:22SPEAKER_03: No, I'll be oppressed.
- 58:24SPEAKER_03: You didn't know that.
- 58:25SPEAKER_03: Stop it.

- 58:40SPEAKER_06: Yep.
- 58:41SPEAKER_06: He he couldn't play the guitar.
- 58:45SPEAKER_06: He had no skill to play the guitar.
- 58:48SPEAKER_06: You just blew my mind.
- 58:51unknown: Yeah.
- 58:51SPEAKER_03: So I mean, so the guy who invented the electric guitar couldn't play it.
- 58:57SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 58:58SPEAKER_03: Not a.
- 58:59SPEAKER_03: How the hell does that happen?
- 59:02SPEAKER_06: I mean, looking at Skydrivers, some of those guys think they can drive and they really can't.
- 59:06SPEAKER_03: That's true.
- 59:08SPEAKER_06: Money buys you seats.
- 59:10SPEAKER_06: So fact fact number three.
- 59:12SPEAKER_06: All right.
- 59:13SPEAKER_06: Giraffes and mice have the same number of vertebrates in their neck.
- 59:20SPEAKER_06: Seven.
- 59:20SPEAKER_06: Shut up.
- 59:22SPEAKER_06: A little mouse to a big old giraffe has seven vertebrates.
- 59:27SPEAKER_06: Huh.
- 59:27SPEAKER_06: Is that insane?
- 59:29SPEAKER_06: Who knew?
- 59:30SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 59:31SPEAKER_06: I didn't like it.
- 59:32SPEAKER_06: Until I read it.
- 59:33SPEAKER_06: Alright.
- 59:34SPEAKER_06: So Listerine mouthwash was marketed as a feminine hygiene product in 1930.
- 59:40SPEAKER_03: Stop it.
- 59:41SPEAKER_03: Come on.
- 59:42SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 59:43SPEAKER_03: That has to, dude, that has to burn like crazy.
- 59:46SPEAKER_06: It was designed.
- 59:48SPEAKER_06: That's what it was for.
- 59:49SPEAKER_06: To clean.
- 59:50SPEAKER_06: And I quote, deodorize your lady parts.
- 59:53SPEAKER_03: Dude, do you know how bad listering burns?
- 59:57SPEAKER_03: Like if you have like an open sore in your mouth or something like that?
- 1:00:01SPEAKER_03: Can you imagine how that feels on your hoo-ha?
- 1:00:04SPEAKER_06: Come on, man.
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_06: As soon as I read that I was thinking they have bubblegum flavored.
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_06: What if you have uh wow?
- 1:00:12SPEAKER_06: All right.
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_03: So the fish here, but here's the thing.
- 1:00:15SPEAKER_03: We're talking 1910s, 1920s, right?
- 1:00:19SPEAKER_06: 1930s.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_06: Probably.
- 1:00:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, somewhere around there.
- 1:00:22SPEAKER_03: Uh women were tougher.
- 1:00:26SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 1:00:26SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_06: They couldn't talk about it, but they were tougher.
- 1:00:29SPEAKER_03: They were like, hey, I think I got something going on downstairs.
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_03: Oh, here, put this list to read on it.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_06: Oh, that's gonna burn.
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_06: It burns just thinking about it, man.
- 1:00:42SPEAKER_06: Wow.
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_06: All right.
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_03: All right, final one.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_06: But but at least the man later had a fresh, fresh breath.
- 1:00:49SPEAKER_03: Oh, dude, did you really?
- 1:00:51SPEAKER_03: I wasn't gonna go there.
- 1:00:53SPEAKER_03: All right, so I really do.
- 1:00:58SPEAKER_03: You Brad Pitt who played uh Rayleigh over at 802 Scoop right now is ripping her hair out.
- 1:01:03SPEAKER_03: She's like, oh my god.
- 1:01:06SPEAKER_03: Anyway, go ahead.
- 1:01:09SPEAKER_06: Well, Brad Pitt Brad Pitt, I could see her doing it too.
- 1:01:16SPEAKER_06: Um Brad Pitt, the guy who played uh the guy who he played Achilles and the movie Troy.
- 1:01:21SPEAKER_03: Yeah, he used Listerine on his feminine feminine, probably.
- 1:01:25SPEAKER_06: Anyway, he actually injured his Achilles' attendant during the filming.
- 1:01:31unknown: Okay.
- 1:01:32SPEAKER_03: Oh, so Achilles, the movie Troy.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_03: So Brad played Brad Brad Pitt played Achilles in in Troy, and while filming the movie, he tore his Achilles, which comes from Achilles running that marathon and tearing his anyway.
- 1:01:50SPEAKER_03: That's why it's called an Achilles.
- 1:01:52SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 1:01:53SPEAKER_03: All right, I didn't know that either.
- 1:01:55SPEAKER_03: There you have it.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_03: I can just, I can just see Rayleigh over at 802 Scoops right now.
- 1:02:05SPEAKER_03: She's like, oh my gosh, what have I done?
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_03: Um that's it.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_03: Five random facts delivered straight to your thick skull tonight.
- 1:02:14SPEAKER_03: See, actually learned something.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_03: There you have it.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_03: It's uh John's random facts on the Alpha Men podcast.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_03: Open season.
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_03: Season's officially open.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_03: Nothing is protected, no topic gets a free pass, no sacred cows, no participation trophies.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_03: If it moves, we're shooting at it, and we're shooting from the hip tonight.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_03: All right, we have four different topics.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_03: Tonight's targets.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_03: Is the cost of living crisis the only thing that actually decides elections now?
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_03: Or are culture war issues still more powerful than people admit?
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_03: From the manosphere tonight.
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_03: Is a guy who still works with his hands, hunts, fixes his own truck more of a real man than a guy with a six-figure desk job and a gym membership?
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_03: Entertainment sports, has the NFL become too soft and over-officiated?
- 1:03:34SPEAKER_03: Or are the constant protect the quarterback rules actually saving the league's product?
- 1:03:40SPEAKER_03: And finally, is artificial intelligence going to create more high-paying jobs for regular people, or is it quietly replacing the middle class work that used to build real careers?
- 1:03:53SPEAKER_03: Now, here's the deal tonight.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_03: We're not doing this alone.
- 1:03:56SPEAKER_03: Drop your comments or hot as takes in the comments as we discuss them, and they will show up live on the screen.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_03: Pick a side, pick a target, call us out, defend the indefensible.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_03: No warm-up, no disclaimers.
- 1:04:08SPEAKER_03: The season is open.
- 1:04:09SPEAKER_03: We're going hunting, so let's get into it tonight.
- 1:04:13SPEAKER_03: First topic is the cost of living crisis the only thing that actually decides elections now, or are cultural war issues more powerful than people admit.
- 1:04:29SPEAKER_03: Culture war issues would be defined as oh goodness.
- 1:04:37SPEAKER_03: Any kind of identity politics.
- 1:04:49SPEAKER_06: A little bit, like just uh because it's such a great area for me.
- 1:04:54SPEAKER_06: Because you look at the grocery, you look at your grocery bills, you look at you know the cost of fuel and all that stuff, and then you look at the other side of I have I have values and beliefs of certain things I think no matter what they are should be done.
- 1:05:08SPEAKER_06: But it's like, what the hell?
- 1:05:10SPEAKER_06: What do you do?
- 1:05:10SPEAKER_06: I mean, it's that's the part I'm kind of up.
- 1:05:14SPEAKER_06: I have to hear your side to see where maybe I'll agree with you, maybe I won't.
- 1:05:18SPEAKER_06: I like I like not agreeing with you, but well, let's break it down.
- 1:05:21SPEAKER_03: Let's break it down, let's break it apart here.
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_03: All right, is the cost of living crisis the only thing that actually decides elections?
- 1:05:28SPEAKER_03: What have you heard ad nauseum nonstop for about six months straight now?
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_03: You've heard affordability, affordability, affordability, affordability.
- 1:05:46SPEAKER_03: Every politician out there is talking about affordability.
- 1:05:52SPEAKER_03: Now, for those who are new to us, John is in Trinity, North Carolina tonight, and I am in Barrie, Vermont.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_03: John actually grew up in Barrie, Vermont, so he's from here.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_03: So when I say things like this, he understands, but um let's just take the cost of your groceries.
- 1:06:18SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:06:18SPEAKER_03: You're not happy with it.
- 1:06:20SPEAKER_06: Three,$400 a freaking week.
- 1:06:22SPEAKER_03: Not happy with them.
- 1:06:23SPEAKER_03: I don't think there's anybody out there that goes, hey, you know what?
- 1:06:28SPEAKER_03: I'm really happy with the prices at the grocery store.
- 1:06:31SPEAKER_03: Nobody's saying that.
- 1:06:32SPEAKER_03: Right?
- 1:06:34SPEAKER_03: What causes the prices at the grocery store to go up?
- 1:06:38SPEAKER_03: Fuel.
- 1:06:39SPEAKER_03: Fuel.
- 1:06:39SPEAKER_03: Energy.
- 1:06:40SPEAKER_03: Energy drives the price on dun dun dun everything.
- 1:06:45SPEAKER_03: It never goes.
- 1:06:46SPEAKER_03: Everything.
- 1:06:49SPEAKER_03: Okay?
- 1:06:50SPEAKER_03: From the clothing you buy to the goods and services that you do to the groceries that you buy.
- 1:06:55SPEAKER_03: And of course your gasoline and your electric bill and everything else.
- 1:07:00SPEAKER_03: So when the cost of energy is high, then that's when you start hearing politicians talk about affordability.
- 1:07:11SPEAKER_03: Now we are in Iran.
- 1:07:17SPEAKER_03: We've got uh the Strait of Hormuz thing going on.
- 1:07:22SPEAKER_03: There are a lot of economists saying this week, had we not shut down all of the refineries that we closed in the United States in the last five years, okay, that the United States may very well have been isolated from a gas price increase due to the war in Iran.
- 1:07:43SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:07:45SPEAKER_03: Um and so now we're looking at this gas price thing because it's controlling everything.
- 1:07:52SPEAKER_03: And I'll just give you this example.
- 1:07:55SPEAKER_03: And you know this because you grew up here.
- 1:07:59SPEAKER_03: In the state of Vermont, the legislature has been controlled for the last 30 years by a supermajority led by the Democrats.
- 1:08:15SPEAKER_03: Uh we have a governor in our state who sometimes drives me crazy.
- 1:08:20SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:08:21SPEAKER_03: Uh he's not as conservative as I'd like him to be.
- 1:08:26SPEAKER_03: Um he does things sometimes that I'm not real excited about.
- 1:08:30SPEAKER_03: However, he has used his veto to stop the insane policies that have cost Vermonters and caused this affordability crisis here.
- 1:08:44SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:08:45SPEAKER_03: He's used his veto pen sixty eight times.
- 1:08:52SPEAKER_03: And the second highest use of the veto pen by a governor isn't even close.
- 1:08:57SPEAKER_03: It's like twenty-three.
- 1:08:59SPEAKER_03: Oh wow, so he's checked out.
- 1:09:02SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 1:09:03SPEAKER_03: So our governor has tried every single way to prevent stupid climate change initiatives that raise the price of energy, dumb regulations, private pet policies, that that you know, our identity politics and all of that other stuff.
- 1:09:27SPEAKER_03: And the bottom line is yes, we're in Iran.
- 1:09:34SPEAKER_03: Yes, Ukraine is bombing Russian oil refineries, that's raising the price.
- 1:09:41SPEAKER_03: Iran is raising the price, okay?
- 1:09:45SPEAKER_03: But I would remind people that four years ago we had a guy that campaigned and won the election and said he was going to put the fossil fuels industry out of business.
- 1:10:00SPEAKER_03: They slow rolled permits, they stopped drilling in Anwar, they closed the XL pipeline, they shut down refineries, they took a country that was energy independent and deep sixed it so that they could push their green energy electric cars.
- 1:10:19SPEAKER_03: All right?
- 1:10:21SPEAKER_03: So now you ask yourself, because right now, the gas, I don't know what it you did.
- 1:10:28SPEAKER_03: You buy gas today?
- 1:10:28SPEAKER_03: What is it in North Carolina?
- 1:10:32SPEAKER_03: It's$5.39 a gallon where I got gas, which actually is about 10 cents cheaper than it was a couple days ago.
- 1:10:39SPEAKER_03: $539.
- 1:10:40SPEAKER_03: Or$4.39.
- 1:10:41SPEAKER_03: Sorry.
- 1:10:41SPEAKER_03: Sorry,$4.39.
- 1:10:43SPEAKER_03: Sorry.
- 1:10:44SPEAKER_03: Sorry.
- 1:10:45SPEAKER_03: $4.39.
- 1:10:46SPEAKER_03: Sorry.
- 1:10:47SPEAKER_03: Uh my oil, heating oil, my heating oil was$4.89 a gallon.
- 1:10:57SPEAKER_06: It's$3.89 a gallon here, and our governor just our governor just uh waived uh tax, fuel tax sure for the next for the next 60 days here.
- 1:11:09SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 1:11:09SPEAKER_06: So it's gonna be it's gonna be about 280 or 290 a gallon.
- 1:11:14SPEAKER_06: But here's my point.
- 1:11:16SPEAKER_03: Okay, the highest price of gas ever recorded, average, the highest average price of gas recorded ever in the United States was June of 2022, and it was five dollars and nine cents a gallon.
- 1:11:32SPEAKER_03: And we weren't at war with Russia, or we weren't at war with with uh Iran.
- 1:11:38SPEAKER_03: And there there weren't refineries in Russia being bombed, and there weren't that was all artificially inflated.
- 1:11:45SPEAKER_03: We sold off our oil reserves, we closed the pipelines, we stopped offshore drilling, we stopped drilling in Anwar, we slow rolled permits for the oil companies, we did everything we could do to present the Green New Deal and inflate gas prices.
- 1:12:07SPEAKER_03: And that's why Joe Biden's inflation numbers were at like 20%.
- 1:12:15SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:12:18SPEAKER_06: So now we've got Well, the midterms coming up, and you keep because we're gonna we're kind of getting further deeper into the rabbit hole than we want to on this, I think.
- 1:12:25SPEAKER_06: Yeah, but and I know how you are with politics, so you'll keep going deeper and deeper on the policy and stuff.
- 1:12:31SPEAKER_06: So I'm trying to get you back on track.
- 1:12:32SPEAKER_03: So here's this whole topic was Let me let me let me sum it up with this.
- 1:12:37SPEAKER_03: If you're upset with the cost of living, if you're upset with the price of gasoline, are you really gonna give your vote to the people who want to bankrupt the oil companies and put them out of business?
- 1:12:49SPEAKER_06: Well, let me ask you this.
- 1:12:51SPEAKER_06: Would you accept lower prices from a candidate you strongly disagree with?
- 1:12:57SPEAKER_03: Uh depends.
- 1:13:01SPEAKER_03: Are they socialists?
- 1:13:03SPEAKER_03: Are they gonna fundamentally change the constitution of the United States?
- 1:13:09SPEAKER_06: I'm saying, would you I mean would you accept lower prices?
- 1:13:11SPEAKER_03: Are we gonna no longer be a free country?
- 1:13:15SPEAKER_03: Are they gonna seize the means of production?
- 1:13:17SPEAKER_03: If that's the answer, yeah.
- 1:13:21SPEAKER_06: So it comes down to the cultural side of this is where I said it in the beginning.
- 1:13:26SPEAKER_06: You got you got your beliefs, and you also have your wallet.
- 1:13:29SPEAKER_06: And you gotta have the wall hot the wallet side of the housing, groceries, utilities.
- 1:13:33SPEAKER_06: You know, we have that side, but we also have the cultural side, our beliefs of what topic of like immigration, abortion, guns, uh, whatever.
- 1:13:43SPEAKER_06: Well, here's the deal.
- 1:13:44SPEAKER_06: It's that turning point.
- 1:13:45SPEAKER_03: I'll pay$50 a gallon for a gallon of gas before I'll elect a socialist.
- 1:13:52SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 1:13:53SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 1:13:54SPEAKER_03: I got you.
- 1:13:55SPEAKER_03: I'm with you on it.
- 1:13:55SPEAKER_06: I'm not disagreeing with you at all.
- 1:13:57SPEAKER_06: I'm just saying that that was a good question.
- 1:13:58SPEAKER_06: I thought about anyway.
- 1:13:59SPEAKER_06: I was like, what would be my turning point, you know, to make that switch?
- 1:14:05SPEAKER_06: What issue would make you switch your vote?
- 1:14:07SPEAKER_06: That's that's where what what where's your line?
- 1:14:10SPEAKER_06: That's that's the question.
- 1:14:12SPEAKER_03: That's I don't know, to be honest with you.
- 1:14:14SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 1:14:14SPEAKER_03: It's a hard one.
- 1:14:15SPEAKER_03: It's a hard one.
- 1:14:16SPEAKER_03: No, I like in normal times, I could probably answer that.
- 1:14:20SPEAKER_03: I can't answer that right now because the Democrats are so freaking crazy.
- 1:14:27SPEAKER_03: This Democrat Socialists of America thing, where they want to abolish the Senate, abolish the House, abolish the presidency.
- 1:14:35SPEAKER_03: They want to they wanna they wanna have no police.
- 1:14:38SPEAKER_03: They want to.
- 1:14:39SPEAKER_03: I mean, you you can go on to the Democrat Socialists of America's website and read what their policy is.
- 1:14:45SPEAKER_03: And it's it's anarchy.
- 1:14:48SPEAKER_03: It is it's you know, so we all have that line though.
- 1:14:53SPEAKER_03: I don't really care.
- 1:14:54SPEAKER_03: I don't really care how expensive things get, um, as long as the Democrats are going, yeah, come into our tent, you know, we love you socialists.
- 1:15:06SPEAKER_03: I I'm not there, yeah.
- 1:15:09SPEAKER_06: So with you on it, I'm with you on the whole thing.
- 1:15:11SPEAKER_06: I just want to when I when I saw that question about this, and I was like, what line would be what issue would switch my phone?
- 1:15:18SPEAKER_06: I'm like, what would it be?
- 1:15:19SPEAKER_06: Because I am 100% with you on the you know the whole socialist thing and the constitution.
- 1:15:23SPEAKER_06: I have the constitution right here.
- 1:15:25SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 1:15:26SPEAKER_03: That sucks.
- 1:15:27SPEAKER_03: That's the thing.
- 1:15:28SPEAKER_03: The people who who want want the people who want socialism, the people who are swayed by AOCs and Bernie Sanders and all of those other people, either they weren't taught the constitution in high school, or they were asleep.
- 1:15:46SPEAKER_06: But what if what if Bernie Sanders had that one policy that changed the thing, your vote?
- 1:15:52SPEAKER_03: Can't do it.
- 1:15:53SPEAKER_06: That's that's the hard part.
- 1:15:54SPEAKER_06: That's the hard part.
- 1:15:55SPEAKER_03: I don't like that.
- 1:15:56SPEAKER_06: We all have we all have that one line that we would probably cross for.
- 1:16:00SPEAKER_03: I don't like his hair.
- 1:16:03SPEAKER_03: It's uh not gonna do it.
- 1:16:04SPEAKER_03: All right, on to the manosphere tonight.
- 1:16:06SPEAKER_03: Topic number two.
- 1:16:07SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 1:16:08SPEAKER_03: I think this one is gonna be a fairly easy, easy one.
- 1:16:11SPEAKER_03: We'll move through fairly quickly.
- 1:16:13SPEAKER_03: But uh is a man who still works with his hands, hunts, and fixes his own truck more of a real man than a guy with a six-figure desk job and a gym membership.
- 1:16:27SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 1:16:29SPEAKER_03: You're just going with yes?
- 1:16:32SPEAKER_06: That's it.
- 1:16:33SPEAKER_03: There's gotta be more to it than just yes.
- 1:16:35SPEAKER_06: I'm a blue-collar.
- 1:16:37SPEAKER_06: I I've worked, I have worked the white-collar life, I've lived in the white-collar corporate world, but I'm a blue-collar to heart.
- 1:16:45SPEAKER_06: And like I always give you shit about, you know, working a desk, blah, blah, blah, and stuff like that.
- 1:16:51SPEAKER_06: You know, no real work, try to, you know, try to run a payroll, manage six employees.
- 1:16:55SPEAKER_06: I mean, but this is the hard part.
- 1:16:59SPEAKER_06: Yes, I think you should you know how to hunt, fix your own shit, work on your own stuff.
- 1:17:04SPEAKER_06: But we also need the people behind a desk to help us blue-collar people do their work.
- 1:17:10SPEAKER_06: So on the side of things, yes, I think if I had to pick one side, yes, you you're more of a man if you're a blue-collar worker.
- 1:17:16SPEAKER_03: But we need but here's the deal.
- 1:17:19SPEAKER_03: Here's the deal.
- 1:17:19SPEAKER_03: Go ahead.
- 1:17:20SPEAKER_03: I I I've hunted.
- 1:17:23SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I I I've I work with my hands.
- 1:17:26SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 1:17:27SPEAKER_03: Um, and um it may not fix my own truck.
- 1:17:33SPEAKER_03: Okay, it may have me there.
- 1:17:35SPEAKER_06: No, but it comes down to the final the final circle of the whole thing.
- 1:17:38SPEAKER_06: There's so many spider webs on that.
- 1:17:40SPEAKER_06: The final thing is to be a man.
- 1:17:42SPEAKER_06: And it's not being a man, but it's being a man, I guess it is.
- 1:17:45SPEAKER_06: Take care of your family.
- 1:17:47SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 1:17:48SPEAKER_06: Keep to your word.
- 1:17:49SPEAKER_06: Keep to your word.
- 1:17:50SPEAKER_06: You're right.
- 1:17:51SPEAKER_06: And and be respect be respectful until it's time to be respectful.
- 1:17:55SPEAKER_03: I joke a lot about my wife.
- 1:17:57SPEAKER_03: Um, uh, to me, though, she is uh the most beautiful woman on the planet and a princess, and even though she drives me insane and we've been married going on 26 years now, um, there's not anything I wouldn't do for her.
- 1:18:13SPEAKER_03: And there's not anything I wouldn't do for my children, and there's not anything I wouldn't do for John's children because they're actually my children.
- 1:18:21SPEAKER_06: Send me some money.
- 1:18:24SPEAKER_03: His wife just told him she's a cheap.
- 1:18:26SPEAKER_03: His wife just hasn't told him yet.
- 1:18:28SPEAKER_03: Uh, all right.
- 1:18:29SPEAKER_03: Uh, entertainment sports.
- 1:18:31SPEAKER_03: Has the NFL become too soft and uh overofficiated?
- 1:18:37SPEAKER_03: Or are the constant protect the quarterback rules actually saving the product?
- 1:18:44SPEAKER_03: And the reason I put this in here this week is um Do you remember NFL Films on HBO?
- 1:18:52SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 1:18:52SPEAKER_03: NFL Films presents, right?
- 1:18:56SPEAKER_03: And they'd roll out, it was it was before man, it was before 20 on 20 by ESPN.
- 1:19:04SPEAKER_03: It was what's that?
- 1:19:05SPEAKER_03: It was listening.
- 1:19:07SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 1:19:08SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 1:19:09SPEAKER_03: So uh NFL Films on HBO, the guy with the really big deep voice, he'd come on.
- 1:19:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah, NFL Films presents, and then they'd go into this massive thing about Dick Budkiss, you know, and right, like, and you looked, you watched, and you was like, you were like watching John Madden from like the late 60s and early 70s, and like, you know, the the and here comes Dick Budkiss and he's missing three teeth, and like he he looks like a freaking like an ogre, you know what I mean?
- 1:19:41SPEAKER_03: And you look at that old tape of the NFL and you go, man, those guys were tough son of a bitches, right?
- 1:19:54SPEAKER_03: Those are real bad.
- 1:19:55SPEAKER_03: Like, like they were there was no, there was no, oh, I think I I think I I I think I have a stinger.
- 1:20:04SPEAKER_03: I gotta sit out through the rest of the game.
- 1:20:07SPEAKER_03: There was none of that, man.
- 1:20:09SPEAKER_03: There was there was like there's guys that like broke their arm and kept playing.
- 1:20:16SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 1:20:18SPEAKER_06: Yeah, and like look, I I look at it as I look at it as this would be a dad's side of me.
- 1:20:25SPEAKER_06: What if Connor became a professional football player?
- 1:20:28SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I I'd want all the protections there because it's my son.
- 1:20:31SPEAKER_06: I mean, I want I don't want to see him get his head scrambled like like Skeet.
- 1:20:34SPEAKER_06: What's his name?
- 1:20:34SPEAKER_06: Skeedabo or whatever his name is.
- 1:20:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but them giant helmet things they make they wear, they look stupid, dude.
- 1:20:40SPEAKER_03: They do, but you know that's it's that's I think I think we have a photo of one of them.
- 1:20:46SPEAKER_06: The man side of me wants to um oh yeah, these things are here.
- 1:20:53SPEAKER_06: What wants to see the the hits, but now I look at it as should we keep the ban on dangerous hits or just keep the calls consistent?
- 1:21:03SPEAKER_06: You know, it's like it seems like some quarterbacks are more protected than others.
- 1:21:10SPEAKER_03: So you've heard the argument for years, uh, why don't you put a bunch of skirts on those guys?
- 1:21:17SPEAKER_03: Like, ah, you know, right?
- 1:21:18SPEAKER_03: I mean, like, look, obviously, even back in the days of Dick Budkiss, all right, who was a monster on the field, even though he was a monster in his day, now the amount of weights and training and everything else that these guys who are in the current NFL do.
- 1:21:45SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 1:21:46SPEAKER_03: If they stood like you think of the biggest guy on the Cowboys, all right?
- 1:21:51SPEAKER_03: All right, if you stood that guy next to Dick Buckis today, he would probably dwarf Dick Butkis.
- 1:21:57SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 1:21:57SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 1:21:59SPEAKER_06: They're more tuned now than they were everywhere.
- 1:22:01SPEAKER_06: Now, pure strength, you've put them on a push and pull and they pushed each other.
- 1:22:06SPEAKER_06: I think the guys from the 60s, 70s, 80s would push any line back.
- 1:22:10SPEAKER_06: But on speed, endurance, and outs, I believe the guys now smoke them.
- 1:22:15SPEAKER_03: Well, and the play selection, the play calling, like back in the back in the 60s and 70s, they weren't running quarterback options.
- 1:22:23SPEAKER_03: They weren't running these big sweeping round-the-end plays.
- 1:22:26SPEAKER_03: They were they were playing smash mouth football, they were playing power eye football.
- 1:22:32SPEAKER_03: The quarterback snaps the ball, and the tailback comes from behind him and straight up the gut through the in between the center and the guard, and you know, you know, that was that was, and now you've got these guys running options and all this other stuff, and and so it is more dangerous.
- 1:22:50SPEAKER_03: It is there's a lot more stuff, but your quarterback back in the 60s, 70s, and even the 80s wasn't being paid 60 million dollars a year to be an interception machine, too.
- 1:23:05SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 1:23:06SPEAKER_06: I think I think all quarterbacks should should wear those helmets.
- 1:23:10SPEAKER_03: No, I can't do it.
- 1:23:13SPEAKER_06: Just a quarterback though.
- 1:23:14SPEAKER_03: Look, dude, I don't care how safe they are, they look dumb.
- 1:23:18SPEAKER_03: Man, they look like it's like watching a cartoon.
- 1:23:21SPEAKER_03: You know, I mean, it's like just take that off.
- 1:23:24SPEAKER_06: All the quarterbacks just wear those, nobody else can wear those.
- 1:23:27SPEAKER_03: Everybody's gonna send me emails now going, it protects their school.
- 1:23:31SPEAKER_03: And yeah, I get it.
- 1:23:32SPEAKER_03: I get it.
- 1:23:33SPEAKER_03: It still looks dumb.
- 1:23:34SPEAKER_03: All right, still looks dumb.
- 1:23:36SPEAKER_03: All right, finally, is artificial intelligence gonna create more high-paying jobs for regular guys, or is it quietly replacing the middle class workers that used to build real careers?
- 1:23:51SPEAKER_06: Well, the I mean, the bottom line of the whole thing, that's a huge topic, especially in my industry now, is AI is gonna create demand for some fields.
- 1:23:58SPEAKER_06: I mean, there's no doubt on that.
- 1:24:01SPEAKER_06: But it's also gonna squeeze others.
- 1:24:02SPEAKER_06: I mean, new jobs somewhere is is gonna change more AI, and some jobs that are more AI, right now, we're probably gonna change to more of the guys who are you know the doing the stuff.
- 1:24:20SPEAKER_06: I mean, like routine office tasks, like automated stuff, retaining all that, you know, paperwork and stuff.
- 1:24:26SPEAKER_06: AI can do that stuff a hundred times faster, the crunch numbers faster.
- 1:24:30SPEAKER_06: Now, can AI go frame a house?
- 1:24:34SPEAKER_06: No, but they can build a house with a with that spray stuff, whatever they do.
- 1:24:38SPEAKER_03: I saw a thing the other day that it's like a robot 3D printer like thing.
- 1:24:44SPEAKER_06: Oh, yeah.
- 1:24:44SPEAKER_06: Oh yeah.
- 1:24:45SPEAKER_06: I've seen them here in Charlotte.
- 1:24:47SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:24:48SPEAKER_03: And they're building houses with that.
- 1:24:50SPEAKER_03: Like you set the thing up and it just builds the walls.
- 1:24:52SPEAKER_03: Boom.
- 1:24:53SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:24:53SPEAKER_03: You know?
- 1:24:54SPEAKER_06: Um, there's there's gonna be a squeeze for one side to the other.
- 1:24:57SPEAKER_06: Um, but it now it gets to the question of with this all coming up in the next 10, you know, five, ten, fifteen years.
- 1:25:04SPEAKER_06: It's gonna happen, it's gonna change.
- 1:25:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:25:06SPEAKER_03: Listen, if you lose your job, just start a podcast.
- 1:25:09SPEAKER_03: There's all kinds of money in that.
- 1:25:11SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 1:25:12SPEAKER_06: What now the qu the the the question is now, what do you what do you push your kids to do?
- 1:25:16SPEAKER_06: Do you push them to create to the trades, to college, to tech?
- 1:25:19SPEAKER_03: I mean, uh, I think we are always gonna need plumbers.
- 1:25:24SPEAKER_03: I think we're always gonna need um uh yeah, I think we're always gonna I think there are certain things that are insulated.
- 1:25:34SPEAKER_06: Yeah, but that's the boom.
- 1:25:35SPEAKER_06: That's with this boom coming up.
- 1:25:37SPEAKER_06: Where do you push your kids to?
- 1:25:38SPEAKER_06: What do you say?
- 1:25:39SPEAKER_03: Electricians, plumbers, electricians, um data centers.
- 1:25:44SPEAKER_03: Yep, uh HVAC people.
- 1:25:46SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's what I do.
- 1:25:48SPEAKER_03: Um, you know, uh those those are those are big careers.
- 1:25:52SPEAKER_03: Don't go into radio.
- 1:25:54SPEAKER_03: It's over.
- 1:25:56SPEAKER_03: Just telling you.
- 1:25:57SPEAKER_03: Spotify.
- 1:26:00SPEAKER_03: And don't start a podcast.
- 1:26:02SPEAKER_03: Because we were tonight um uh kind of celebrating pre-show.
- 1:26:06SPEAKER_03: We we've made exactly one cent on Rumble.
- 1:26:11SPEAKER_03: It says earnings one cent.
- 1:26:14SPEAKER_03: That's awesome.
- 1:26:16SPEAKER_03: Anyway.
- 1:26:18SPEAKER_03: Uh all right.
- 1:26:19SPEAKER_03: Well, uh, there you have it.
- 1:26:21SPEAKER_03: You still got a comment or a take?
- 1:26:22SPEAKER_03: Drop it into well, I hate to go backwards, but Michelle says um 360, what, 369?
- 1:26:30SPEAKER_03: Is that what that says?
- 1:26:31SPEAKER_06: Yeah, 369 for guys.
- 1:26:33SPEAKER_06: They did the same thing in Ohio she lives in.
- 1:26:36SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 1:26:36SPEAKER_06: Um they dropped it.
- 1:26:38SPEAKER_06: AI can't fix a toilet.
- 1:26:39SPEAKER_06: AI can fix a toilet, probably.
- 1:26:41SPEAKER_06: You wait.
- 1:26:43SPEAKER_03: Well, AI can't unclog a toilet.
- 1:26:46SPEAKER_06: You wait.
- 1:26:46SPEAKER_06: There'll be there'll be some little thing that's gonna be like an automatic fucking.
- 1:26:51SPEAKER_03: Well, we'll see.
- 1:26:52SPEAKER_03: We'll see.
- 1:26:53SPEAKER_03: Uh drop your comments if you still have uh a way to weigh in on what we've talked about tonight.
- 1:26:59SPEAKER_03: Uh, no warm-up, no disclaimers.
- 1:27:01SPEAKER_03: Season is open, and uh now the season is closed.
- 1:27:05SPEAKER_03: That's open season on the Alpha Men podcast.
- 1:28:06SPEAKER_01: Welcome to man court, where bad decisions are put on trial and common sense is the only law we pretend to follow.
- 1:28:12SPEAKER_01: Step forward and plead your case.
- 1:28:14SPEAKER_01: Just know the verdict was probably decided before you started talking.
- 1:28:24SPEAKER_03: I don't know where my uh my mallet went.
- 1:28:27SPEAKER_03: Gavel.
- 1:28:29SPEAKER_03: My gavel.
- 1:28:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:28:30SPEAKER_03: I don't know where my gavel went.
- 1:28:32SPEAKER_03: I don't know what to do with it.
- 1:28:34SPEAKER_03: Uh mancourt.
- 1:28:36SPEAKER_03: Now in session.
- 1:28:39SPEAKER_03: And uh, well, uh lost my script.
- 1:28:48SPEAKER_03: Anyway, uh, you can send your domestic disputes.
- 1:28:51SPEAKER_03: We'll haul them into mancourt for rolling uh with the guidance of the freak jury that'll hold up at any bar in America.
- 1:28:57SPEAKER_03: If you've got a problem that needs solving, you can visit any of our social media pages and drop your mancourt dilemma in a DM.
- 1:29:04SPEAKER_06: And you can join us in the comment section.
- 1:29:06SPEAKER_06: Uh comment wherever you guys are at.
- 1:29:08SPEAKER_06: Uh, give us the plaintiff your advice.
- 1:29:10SPEAKER_06: Just hit hit the comment button and uh we'll uh put it on the screen and we'll discuss it.
- 1:29:15SPEAKER_03: It fell off the other side of my desk.
- 1:29:18SPEAKER_03: Just found it.
- 1:29:19SPEAKER_03: Got it.
- 1:29:20SPEAKER_03: There we go.
- 1:29:21SPEAKER_03: Uh let's dive into tonight's case where bad decisions are put on trial.
- 1:29:25SPEAKER_03: And common sense is the only law we pretend to follow.
- 1:29:28SPEAKER_03: So, uh, John, what is our docket number?
- 1:29:31SPEAKER_06: Uh be 261013.
- 1:29:34SPEAKER_06: Our plaintiff is Sam from Fort Wayne, Indiana.
- 1:29:38SPEAKER_06: It's called the case of just being honest is not the hottest.
- 1:29:43SPEAKER_03: All right, Sam writes, dear judge TJ and baby Huey.
- 1:29:46SPEAKER_03: Found the show last year.
- 1:29:48SPEAKER_03: I've been a regular ever since.
- 1:29:49SPEAKER_03: Here's my problem.
- 1:29:50SPEAKER_03: Wife and I have been married 11 years, solid marriage, two kids, usual chaos.
- 1:29:55SPEAKER_03: About six months ago, she started this new honesty kick.
- 1:30:00SPEAKER_03: Oh boy.
- 1:30:02SPEAKER_03: After watching some self-help podcast.
- 1:30:05SPEAKER_03: Now, every time I do something slightly imperfect, she hits me with I'm just being honest.
- 1:30:13SPEAKER_03: I know somebody else who does that.
- 1:30:18SPEAKER_03: Examples, we're not married.
- 1:30:22SPEAKER_03: We just happened to do a show together.
- 1:30:25SPEAKER_03: Uh she hits me with, I'm just being honest.
- 1:30:28SPEAKER_03: Examples, I put the laundry in the wrong basket.
- 1:30:32SPEAKER_03: I get, I'm just being honest.
- 1:30:34SPEAKER_03: She never paid attention to how I organize things.
- 1:30:37SPEAKER_03: I suggest Mexican for dinner.
- 1:30:39SPEAKER_03: I'm just being honest.
- 1:30:40SPEAKER_03: You always pick the same three places.
- 1:30:44SPEAKER_03: I forget to take the trash out one night.
- 1:30:46SPEAKER_03: I'm just being honest.
- 1:30:47SPEAKER_03: It's like you don't care about the house.
- 1:30:50SPEAKER_03: It's constant.
- 1:30:51SPEAKER_03: I can't open my mouth without getting the just being honest treatment.
- 1:30:56SPEAKER_03: Last week I told her I was tired after work, and she said, I'm just being honest.
- 1:31:00SPEAKER_03: You always seem tired when I need help with the kids.
- 1:31:08SPEAKER_03: I tried to talk to her about it.
- 1:31:10SPEAKER_03: She said, I'm being too sensitive.
- 1:31:14SPEAKER_03: And honestly, it's important in a marriage.
- 1:31:18SPEAKER_03: And that honesty is important in a marriage.
- 1:31:21SPEAKER_03: Am I the asshole for wanting to help stop using just being honest as a free pass to criticize everything I do?
- 1:31:29SPEAKER_03: Or is this just modern marriage and I need to man up and take it?
- 1:31:34SPEAKER_03: Can you guys in the freak jury help a brother out?
- 1:31:36SPEAKER_03: Honestly, Sam, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
- 1:31:41SPEAKER_06: Alright, freak jury.
- 1:31:43SPEAKER_06: Give us your comments, your thoughts, and what's what's what's your take on it?
- 1:31:48SPEAKER_03: Do you know you say that to me all the time?
- 1:31:50SPEAKER_03: I'm just being honest.
- 1:31:52SPEAKER_03: I'm just being honest.
- 1:31:55SPEAKER_06: Very straightforward.
- 1:31:56SPEAKER_06: I gotta bullshit you.
- 1:31:57SPEAKER_03: Like I started reading, I started reading this and I'm thinking, my wife doesn't say I'm just being honest, but I know somebody who does.
- 1:32:05SPEAKER_03: I'm like in everything I do, and we're not married.
- 1:32:10SPEAKER_03: Anyway.
- 1:32:12SPEAKER_03: Ah, here's the thing.
- 1:32:13SPEAKER_06: I'm honestly, I'd be honest.
- 1:32:16SPEAKER_06: Um God.
- 1:32:19SPEAKER_06: It's it's it's not intentional we say it.
- 1:32:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:32:22SPEAKER_03: So I mean it's No, I want you to lie to me.
- 1:32:26SPEAKER_06: And sometimes to being honest, we are lying.
- 1:32:30SPEAKER_00: Anyway.
- 1:32:32SPEAKER_06: I mean, just being blunt.
- 1:32:33SPEAKER_06: I mean, I'm more blunt.
- 1:32:34SPEAKER_06: I'm a very blunt person, you know that.
- 1:32:35SPEAKER_06: And it sounds like she's I think this is her way of being honest, but without being blunt.
- 1:32:43SPEAKER_06: I just say what's your thoughts?
- 1:32:46SPEAKER_03: I think she's a winch.
- 1:32:49SPEAKER_03: Fair.
- 1:32:50SPEAKER_03: I do.
- 1:32:50SPEAKER_03: I mean, here's the deal.
- 1:32:52SPEAKER_03: You have to why why does just be like Sam, why does just being honest hurt him?
- 1:32:59SPEAKER_03: All right, why why is he irritated with it?
- 1:33:02SPEAKER_03: Because it's intent versus impact.
- 1:33:05SPEAKER_03: Okay?
- 1:33:06SPEAKER_03: True honesty builds like safety and connection, while weaponized honesty, and that's done to criticize or shame or hit humiliate or to control them.
- 1:33:20SPEAKER_03: And I think that's what's going on here.
- 1:33:23SPEAKER_03: Alright?
- 1:33:24SPEAKER_03: Like, look, you gotta have some tact, okay?
- 1:33:31SPEAKER_03: You can't just deliver blunt truths without empathy, uh, timing, or or or or care when you're talking to your spouse.
- 1:33:40SPEAKER_03: Alright?
- 1:33:42SPEAKER_03: You know, it it doesn't solve the problem, it makes it worse.
- 1:33:47SPEAKER_03: Alright, but uh we're interested to see what the uh freak jury says tonight.
- 1:33:51SPEAKER_03: You've got a comment, you can make it anytime in the comment sections, and uh it will show up on the screen.
- 1:33:56SPEAKER_03: Now, when you say, I'm just being honest to me, I know you're being a douche.
- 1:34:03SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 1:34:04SPEAKER_03: Fair.
- 1:34:05SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 1:34:06SPEAKER_03: But imagine if your wife, everything you do, all of a sudden out of her mouth was, oh, that really sucks, John.
- 1:34:14SPEAKER_03: I'm just being honest.
- 1:34:16SPEAKER_03: It wouldn't take too long before you're like, crap, is there anything I do that's good?
- 1:34:22SPEAKER_03: You know?
- 1:34:23SPEAKER_03: I think that's being a bitch.
- 1:34:25SPEAKER_03: I think that's right.
- 1:34:27SPEAKER_03: I think that's where Sam is tonight.
- 1:34:30SPEAKER_03: I don't even think we need the freak jury on this one.
- 1:34:32SPEAKER_03: I know.
- 1:34:34SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 1:34:35SPEAKER_03: I I just I look at it, you know what?
- 1:34:41SPEAKER_03: Court has heard the evidence, verdict.
- 1:34:44SPEAKER_03: Sam is not guilty of being too sensitive.
- 1:34:47SPEAKER_03: His wife, however, is guilty of weaponizing honesty in the first degree.
- 1:34:55SPEAKER_03: All right?
- 1:34:56SPEAKER_03: Mandatory 30-day honesty filter probation.
- 1:35:02SPEAKER_03: Any sentence that begins with, I'm just being honest, must now be followed by either A, an actual compliment, or B a concrete offer to help fix the things she's complaining about.
- 1:35:15SPEAKER_03: Okay?
- 1:35:16SPEAKER_03: Failure to comply in results will lose will result in uh loss of remote control privileges and mandatory rewatch of every episode of This Is Us while Sam drinks beer in peace.
- 1:35:28SPEAKER_06: Just definitely makes her happy, just being honest.
- 1:35:32SPEAKER_03: There you go.
- 1:35:33SPEAKER_03: You can send your own cases to the Apple Men podcast, go to our Facebook page and send us a DM.
- 1:35:39SPEAKER_03: Court is adjourned.
- 1:35:41SPEAKER_03: Till next week.
- 1:35:42SPEAKER_03: You're attacking us, you give us a question organization.
- 1:35:45SPEAKER_02: You are attacking our news organization.
- 1:35:47SPEAKER_02: Give us a chance to ask a question, sir.
- 1:35:49SPEAKER_02: Go ahead, sir.
- 1:35:54SPEAKER_02: You are fake news.
- 1:36:04SPEAKER_06: I didn't think you're gonna make it.
- 1:36:06SPEAKER_00: I feel like a McIntyre.
- 1:36:10SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 1:36:11SPEAKER_06: I I never tell you to change because I want to see you sit there after that.
- 1:36:14SPEAKER_06: I do more costume changes this show than we're now.
- 1:36:17SPEAKER_03: Um, all right.
- 1:36:18SPEAKER_03: Here we go.
- 1:36:20SPEAKER_03: Uh, real or fake news.
- 1:36:22SPEAKER_03: Uh part of the show where I feed Baby Huey four of the most insane headlines from this week.
- 1:36:27SPEAKER_03: Only, much like the actual news media, three of them are 100% made up bull crap.
- 1:36:32SPEAKER_03: But one is gloriousity and embarrassingly real.
- 1:36:37SPEAKER_03: And your job, baby Huey, is to wade through the fake news and identify the real news story.
- 1:36:43SPEAKER_03: It's free to play our home game, by the way.
- 1:36:45SPEAKER_03: Just type in the comments what story you think is the real news.
- 1:36:48SPEAKER_03: Because let's face it, John could use all the help he can get.
- 1:36:51SPEAKER_03: Are you ready?
- 1:36:53SPEAKER_03: All right.
- 1:36:55SPEAKER_03: Here we go.
- 1:36:56SPEAKER_03: You do not get to use Google.
- 1:36:57SPEAKER_03: Headline number one.
- 1:37:00SPEAKER_03: The most popular toy this year is Buttface.
- 1:37:07SPEAKER_03: That's headline number one.
- 1:37:09SPEAKER_03: The most popular toy this year is Buttface.
- 1:37:14SPEAKER_03: Headline number two.
- 1:37:16SPEAKER_03: Tech company unveils smartphone specifically designed for people who can't remember their passwords.
- 1:37:23SPEAKER_03: That's headline number two.
- 1:37:27SPEAKER_03: Sounds like there's a market for that.
- 1:37:31SPEAKER_03: Headline number three, scientists develop AI that can tell when your wife is actually mad at you.
- 1:37:40SPEAKER_03: I want that.
- 1:37:43SPEAKER_03: Headline number four, grocery store tests self-checkout machines that charge customers for asking employees for help.
- 1:37:53SPEAKER_06: Must be in California.
- 1:37:56SPEAKER_03: So, headline number one, this year's most popular toy is butt face.
- 1:38:03SPEAKER_03: I love saying that.
- 1:38:05SPEAKER_03: Never seen, never heard of a butt face.
- 1:38:07SPEAKER_03: Headline number two, tech company unveils smartphones specifically designed for people who can't remember their passwords.
- 1:38:12SPEAKER_03: Headline number three, scientists develop AI that can tell when your wife is actually mad at you.
- 1:38:17SPEAKER_03: And headline number four, grocery store tests self-checkout machines that charge customers for asking employees for help.
- 1:38:29SPEAKER_03: Which one?
- 1:38:31SPEAKER_03: Baby Huey.

- 1:39:49SPEAKER_03: What the hell?
- 1:39:51SPEAKER_03: Reports are it's the most popular toy of the year.
- 1:39:54SPEAKER_03: Technically, it's a squishy toy called Chester Cheeks.
- 1:39:59SPEAKER_03: It's a naked backside with a face.
- 1:40:02SPEAKER_03: He has hands, feet, and a tuft of hair on top of his um butt head.
- 1:40:09SPEAKER_03: He's mostly a face, but he's wearing undies or shorts at his waist.
- 1:40:14SPEAKER_03: Oh, and he's also wearing headphones for some reason.
- 1:40:17SPEAKER_03: Not sure why.
- 1:40:19SPEAKER_03: Speaking of sounds, Chester Cheeks makes a variety of fart noises when you squeeze him or when you spread his cheeks.
- 1:40:28SPEAKER_06: What the hell?
- 1:40:31SPEAKER_03: With this description, you can see why this cracks up kids of a certain age.
- 1:40:35SPEAKER_06: Like they're oh, I'm I'm it's in my cart now for Connor for Christmas.
- 1:40:39SPEAKER_03: And to be honest, I want one now too.

- 1:40:43SPEAKER_06: 30 bucks in my cart right now.
- 1:40:46SPEAKER_03: He also dances when he presses head while bouncing and tooting at the same time.
- 1:40:52SPEAKER_03: The good news, it's not a gaming console.
- 1:40:54SPEAKER_03: There's no indication that they're gonna be hard to get, and they're not hundreds of dollars.
- 1:40:59SPEAKER_03: You you get one on Amazon 30 bucks, and they're also at Target and Walmart.

- 1:41:22SPEAKER_01: Dumbass.
- 1:41:23SPEAKER_02: You dumbass.
- 1:41:34SPEAKER_03: Welcome to the Red Foreman Awards on the Alpha Men Podcast, the only award show where the trophy is a size 12.
- 1:41:40SPEAKER_03: Steel-toed boot delivered straight to the ass, brought to you by Point Place's patron, Saint of Dumbassary himself, Red Foreman.
- 1:41:47SPEAKER_03: Tonight we're handing out the golden formans to some of the most impressively stupid criminals walking the planet.
- 1:41:54SPEAKER_03: These uh people didn't just break the law, they set it on fire, danced on it, then asked for a participation trophy on top of it.
- 1:42:01SPEAKER_03: So uh let's all award Red Foreman Award number one, the Golden Gonad Award for extreme dumbassery goes to Alberto Castillo of Miami, Florida.
- 1:42:17SPEAKER_03: Now, Alberto, this fine-feathered genius, allegedly arrived at the Miami International Airport with 10 live birds stuffed into plastic containers and then sewn into his underwear.
- 1:42:31SPEAKER_03: And because apparently one guy wasn't enough to make airport security question humanity, another traveler reportedly showed up with 11 birds of his own.
- 1:42:40SPEAKER_03: But congratulations, Alberto.
- 1:42:43SPEAKER_03: You turned your underwear into an international bird sanctuary.
- 1:42:47SPEAKER_03: Those guys are worried about uh getting caught with their pants down.
- 1:42:51SPEAKER_03: You're worried about getting caught with your pants chirping.
- 1:42:56SPEAKER_03: Unless we're some good money or something.
- 1:42:58SPEAKER_03: Red Foreman number two tonight, the Donut Destruction Award for questionable life choices.
- 1:43:05SPEAKER_03: The winner is 67-year-old Lane Wilkerson Lorraine Wilkerson of Indiana.
- 1:43:11SPEAKER_03: There you see her.
- 1:43:12SPEAKER_03: Looks like a happy young lady.
- 1:43:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 1:43:16SPEAKER_03: She has words.
- 1:43:18SPEAKER_03: Lorraine allegedly got behind the wheel while intoxicated and decided the perfect place to do donuts?
- 1:43:24SPEAKER_03: The front lawn of the county courthouse.
- 1:43:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah, not a parking lot, not an empty field, the courthouse lawn.
- 1:43:33SPEAKER_03: And uh at 67, most people are thinking about retirement.
- 1:43:36SPEAKER_03: Lorraine's out here auditioning for a starring role in Cops, Lawn and Order.
- 1:43:42SPEAKER_03: But if you're going to commit a crime, maybe don't use the front yard of the people who prosecute the crimes, Lorraine.
- 1:43:47SPEAKER_03: So uh yeah, you're a dumbass this week.
- 1:43:51SPEAKER_03: Award number three, the Couch on the Prowl Award.
- 1:43:56SPEAKER_03: For engineering without a working brain cell.
- 1:44:01SPEAKER_03: The winners are uh two adult unnamed men.
- 1:44:06SPEAKER_03: I know it's more fun when they're named.
- 1:44:09SPEAKER_03: Charlotte, North Carolina is the place.
- 1:44:10SPEAKER_03: Police reportedly stopped two men transporting a couch on two lime electric scooters down a busy road.
- 1:44:21SPEAKER_03: Two scooters, one couch, zero evidence that either man had ever met a physics teacher.
- 1:44:31SPEAKER_06: My old Glasshore Commander office was on the street.
- 1:44:34SPEAKER_03: Very busy street, very rough area, too.
- 1:44:38SPEAKER_03: These boys invented a new form of public transportation.
- 1:44:41SPEAKER_03: The uh the love's the love seat low rider.
- 1:44:44SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 1:44:45SPEAKER_03: The only thing missing was a third guy riding behind him holding a sign that says wide load, narrow minds, you know.
- 1:44:52SPEAKER_03: Um next up, the crossword crook award for criminal career planning.
- 1:45:00SPEAKER_03: That winner is Ronald Vlodich of Florida.
- 1:45:05SPEAKER_03: Yes, the Ronald Vlodic of Florida.
- 1:45:08SPEAKER_03: Uh rest easy, Florida residents.
- 1:45:10SPEAKER_03: The crossword bandits reign of terror is over.
- 1:45:15SPEAKER_03: Yes, police allege Ronald Vlodic allegedly skipped out on bar tabs and left crossword puzzles behind as a calling card.
- 1:45:27SPEAKER_03: He did it over and over and over again.
- 1:45:31SPEAKER_03: Kind of like the Batman movie with Jim Carrey in it.
- 1:45:35SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 1:45:36SPEAKER_03: Eventually, social media helped identify him.
- 1:45:40SPEAKER_03: He's reportedly caught and uh riding away from the bar on a bicycle.
- 1:45:44SPEAKER_03: He also faced DUI-related charge involving said bicycle.
- 1:45:48SPEAKER_03: He left puzzles at the scene like some kind of bargain bin Sherlock Holmes.
- 1:45:54SPEAKER_03: But here's a crossword clue.
- 1:45:56SPEAKER_03: Ronald Four Letters, where you might end up after a string of bad decisions.
- 1:46:01SPEAKER_03: Answer Jail.
- 1:46:05SPEAKER_03: That's not even the Sunday puzzle.
- 1:46:08SPEAKER_03: Yep.
- 1:46:09SPEAKER_03: And finally, the Shrimp and Siren Award for the most expensive way to avoid a dinner bill.
- 1:46:18SPEAKER_03: This goes to 26-year-old Abdul Rashid of Georgia.
- 1:46:23SPEAKER_03: Now, Abdul, allegedly faked a medical emergency, called 911 all to avoid paying a$63.77 Red Lobster dinner bill.
- 1:46:37SPEAKER_03: Responders arrived and reportedly found him just fine.
- 1:46:41SPEAKER_03: He then faced allegations involving theft of services and misuse of 911.
- 1:46:46SPEAKER_03: Dude, you called emergency services over a$63 bill.
- 1:46:52SPEAKER_03: You turned seafood dinner into a legal seafood boil, I guess.
- 1:46:56SPEAKER_03: You know, a shrimp cocktail may have been the cheapest part of your evening.
- 1:47:00SPEAKER_02: Dumbass.
- 1:47:02SPEAKER_03: Next time order water and bring a wallet.
- 1:47:04SPEAKER_03: All right?
- 1:47:05SPEAKER_03: There you have it.
- 1:47:06SPEAKER_03: Five winners, five spectacular failures of judgment.
- 1:47:11SPEAKER_03: Birds in the underwear, donuts on the courthouse property, couch on scooters, crossware puzzles at the scene, and a red lobster bill that needed an emergency response.
- 1:47:20SPEAKER_03: Lesson here is simple.
- 1:47:22SPEAKER_03: If you're going to do something stupid, at least have the decency to make it entertaining for the rest of us.
