- Lucas: Velkommen til episode 83 of Learn Norwegian with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Lucas, I've been thinking about something we haven't covered yet. Lucas: Oh? What's that? Luna: The verb 'to make' or 'to create'. In Norwegian, that's 'å lage', right? Lucas: Exactly. 'Å lage' is a really common verb. Let's start with the infinitive: 'å lage'. Repeat after me: å lage. Luna: Å lage. Lucas: Good. Now let's use it in a simple sentence: 'Jeg lager mat' — I make food, or I'm cooking. Say it with me: Jeg lager mat. Luna: Jeg lager mat. Lucas: Perfect. 'Mat' means food. So 'Jeg lager mat' is a useful phrase if you're in the kitchen. Luna: What if I want to ask someone what they're making? Like 'Hva lager du?' Lucas: Yes! 'Hva lager du?' — What are you making? Let's hear you say it. Luna: Hva lager du? Lucas: Great. Now imagine you're making coffee. 'Jeg lager kaffe'. Try that. Luna: Jeg lager kaffe. Lucas: And if a friend is cooking dinner: 'Han lager middag'. Say it. Luna: Han lager middag. Lucas: Excellent. So we've got 'å lage' and three sentences: 'Jeg lager mat', 'Jeg lager kaffe', 'Han lager middag'. And the question 'Hva lager du?'. Luna: I love that. It feels like I can already talk about cooking.
