- 2:49Speaker 2: show now, Angie Gillan Water Canal, Charleston, Humaine, association with
- 2:53Speaker 2: this week's Adopt Me please put it. The week brought
- 2:55Speaker 2: to you by Almost Heaven Interiors, located in South Charleston,
- 2:59Speaker 2: and as always are Critter's Pick is posted Dave Allen
- 3:02Speaker 2: Radio on Facebook and also the WHS network Facebook page
- 3:05Speaker 2: and Dave Alan on x Ang. Welcome to the show.
- 3:09Speaker 5: Hi, good morning. I'm happy to be here.
- 3:11Speaker 2: I saw you on TV just a couple of days ago.
- 3:13Speaker 2: See you were coming to Queen of All Media. You
- 3:16Speaker 2: cannot just contain you to radio. Now you're branching out
- 3:20Speaker 2: into television.
- 3:22Speaker 5: Yeah, that's the goal, is to just be on every
- 3:25Speaker 5: sort of media that I can. Newspaper is next.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Well, I don't know about newspaper. That may not be
- 3:32Speaker 2: the best route for you to go. Uh, just kidding
- 3:35Speaker 2: with our friends in the newspaper business. All right, So
- 3:37Speaker 2: our pictures posted. As I said, we got a lovely
- 3:40Speaker 2: kiddy by the name of Jay. Tell us about Jay.
- 3:44Speaker 5: So Jay, if you saw our Facebook post this week
- 3:47Speaker 5: about a dog and around fourteen cats being dumped overnight
- 3:50Speaker 5: at a shelter, Jay is part of that crew. He
- 3:54Speaker 5: is a very very very sweet kitten. He from what
- 3:57Speaker 5: we've observed, the situation in which he arrived to Kasey
- 4:02Speaker 5: Ha is not like put a damper on his spirit
- 4:04Speaker 5: in any way. He's very playful, he's very sweet. His
- 4:08Speaker 5: eyes go to different directions, which which is super cute.
- 4:12Speaker 5: So he is part of that crew and about four
- 4:15Speaker 5: months old, and I think he would fit perfectly with
- 4:18Speaker 5: any type of family. He's clearly lived with cats before,
- 4:21Speaker 5: clearly lived with at least one dog before, and I'm
- 4:24Speaker 5: sure kids would be no problem.
- 4:26Speaker 2: And we talk all the time about the classic West
- 4:29Speaker 2: Virginia brown dog, so I guess Jay would be the
- 4:31Speaker 2: West Virginia orange cat.
- 4:34Speaker 5: So orange cats have that reputation of being like chaos coordinators,
- 4:38Speaker 5: so I would say West Virginia chaos orange coordinator cats.
- 4:43Speaker 2: He's a great cat. And you mentioned him being dumped
- 4:47Speaker 2: at the shelter, and that's what I want to talk
- 4:49Speaker 2: to you about. And I mentioned a little bit on
- 4:51Speaker 2: the show yesterday and she talk about issues with people
- 4:55Speaker 2: just you know, dumping animals at the shelter, you know,
- 4:58Speaker 2: over nights when you're not there, just talk about the issue.
- 5:02Speaker 5: So this is always a pretty sensitive subject. There are
- 5:05Speaker 5: many different opinions that could be had about it. And
- 5:08Speaker 5: Kseyha we share the opinion that we are super grateful
- 5:11Speaker 5: that you are attempting to get these animals to safety.
- 5:15Speaker 5: That is first and foremost. Again, we are very thankful
- 5:19Speaker 5: that people are trying. However, leaving them overnight at our
- 5:22Speaker 5: gates puts them at risk for getting loose out of
- 5:26Speaker 5: however they are secured, possibly being hit by a car,
- 5:30Speaker 5: possibly you know, running into the woods, running into a
- 5:33Speaker 5: wild animal in the woods, getting lost, and not being
- 5:36Speaker 5: able to find their way back to Kseha. It also
- 5:39Speaker 5: exposes them to the elements. Right now, we're dealing with
- 5:42Speaker 5: not as extreme heat, but we are still dealing with
- 5:45Speaker 5: higher temperatures, you know, and of course there are you know, thunderstorms, lightning, storms, snow,
- 5:51Speaker 5: all of that can play a factor in other months.
- 5:54Speaker 5: So it's always if you're in a situation where you
- 5:57Speaker 5: need to give up your pets, so you have these
- 5:59Speaker 5: animals that you know they're not yours, you need something
- 6:01Speaker 5: to do with them, it's always best to come and
- 6:03Speaker 5: talk to us. And again I appreciate the fact that
- 6:06Speaker 5: everyone is trying to get these animals to say, if
- 6:09Speaker 5: you do the right thing, that is commendable, I will
- 6:12Speaker 5: I will give everyone that, but again, please come talk
- 6:16Speaker 5: to us, we can work something out that is not
- 6:19Speaker 5: leaving these animals overnight exposed to different different things.
- 6:22Speaker 2: I mean, it's a good idea in theory, and I
- 6:25Speaker 2: want to think, I want to think that maybe people
- 6:27Speaker 2: are doing it from a good place, but still just
- 6:30Speaker 2: do it during during business hours and it's they're not
- 6:33Speaker 2: going to bring you in and ask you ten thousand questions,
- 6:36Speaker 2: but you know, you probably do have some questions, like
- 6:38Speaker 2: you know, you know, questions that you find out the
- 6:41Speaker 2: hard way. Whereas if if somebody you know, knocks on
- 6:44Speaker 2: your door and says, look this cat, this dog that
- 6:47Speaker 2: they've been around my house, they seem to be friendly.
- 6:50Speaker 2: You know, it just helps you guys out. You know,
- 6:52Speaker 2: it helps you guys out in the long ground. And
- 6:54Speaker 2: as you said, you leave them out there, and you've
- 6:56Speaker 2: got a picture, I think, post it on your Facebook
- 6:58Speaker 2: page about the shelf or Facebook page. Just leave them
- 7:01Speaker 2: out there. They're they're very vulnerable and even if they're
- 7:04Speaker 2: in a cage or something you got, you know, the
- 7:07Speaker 2: right animal can come in there and they're they're kind
- 7:09Speaker 2: of sitting ducks without being ducks.
- 7:12Speaker 5: Yes, absolutely, I would agree. And also the I didn't
- 7:16Speaker 5: mention this, but knowing these animals histories, if somebody has them,
- 7:20Speaker 5: for example, even just their names can help their journey
- 7:23Speaker 5: through Kha be much less stressful. If we can call
- 7:26Speaker 5: these animals by their name and like give them treats, toys,
- 7:30Speaker 5: or just you know, do things that they like. If
- 7:32Speaker 5: it's you know, this dog likes going on car rides,
- 7:35Speaker 5: we can you know, make that happen for them to
- 7:37Speaker 5: make their journey less stressful. So coming in and talking
- 7:40Speaker 5: to us is always the best approach. We can't take
- 7:42Speaker 5: the animal immediately. Everyone knows that we have been very,
- 7:45Speaker 5: very very jam packed with our spacing. So if we
- 7:50Speaker 5: can't take them right away, we will give you supplies
- 7:52Speaker 5: and resources to do what we can while we wait
- 7:57Speaker 5: for you to bring the animal in.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Speaking of the numbers, talk about the numbers of cats
- 8:00Speaker 2: you have right now.
- 8:02Speaker 5: So just in the last week, there have been at
- 8:06Speaker 5: least fifty two cats that have arrived to Kha one
- 8:10Speaker 5: way or another. So right now we are staying under
- 8:14Speaker 5: the six hundred number, which is great, But there are
- 8:19Speaker 5: many many dogs in our kennels that are co housing,
- 8:22Speaker 5: so there's at least two dogs to the already. You know,
- 8:25Speaker 5: small kennels that we have, So while the numbers are
- 8:28Speaker 5: staying under six hundred, it's it's not great for our
- 8:33Speaker 5: spacing and what we're what we're doing at KHA.
- 8:37Speaker 2: So what are you in need of besides adoptions and
- 8:39Speaker 2: fosters right now? As far as materials, obviously with that
- 8:42Speaker 2: many cats, some cat food would go a long way.
- 8:45Speaker 5: Cat food, cat litter, the cardboard trays that canned goods
- 8:48Speaker 5: come in, we are we use those as litter boxes
- 8:51Speaker 5: and we are working through those very very quickly. And
- 8:54Speaker 5: then for the dogs of obviously dry food, Purina products,
- 8:59Speaker 5: any brand of wet food, and leashes and collars, because
- 9:03Speaker 5: when dogs du leave four day trips or with their adopters,
- 9:06Speaker 5: we send them out of the door with a leash
- 9:08Speaker 5: and a caller.
- 9:09Speaker 2: So any of those things would go a long way.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Of course, you can't go wrong with cash either, you know,
- 9:14Speaker 2: or something like that. What you got going on with
- 9:17Speaker 2: Allen's homemade ice cream tomorrow.
- 9:20Speaker 5: So we are very excited. We have partnered with Ellen's
- 9:23Speaker 5: in the past. We will be down there tomorrow for
- 9:26Speaker 5: an adoption special. Is Worth this year three branded tickcones
- 9:30Speaker 5: for canines, but last year it was called cups for
- 9:33Speaker 5: Puffs and essentially we'll be down there with some adoptable pets.
- 9:38Speaker 5: Ellen's is also selling a T shirt and if you
- 9:41Speaker 5: want to purchase the t shirt, that is our unique
- 9:44Speaker 5: Ellen's Cross KHA. Sure the money will benefit animals at KHA.
- 9:53Speaker 2: All right, good stuff, And what are the hours down
- 9:55Speaker 2: there again at Ellen's, So we'll.
- 9:57Speaker 5: Be down there tomorrow from twelve twelve noon to two.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Well, all right at Allen's here in Charleston Kegs for Canines.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Talk about that because that's coming up here in the
- 10:06Speaker 2: month of August.
- 10:07Speaker 5: Yeah, actually at the end of August, we are getting
- 10:11Speaker 5: down to the wire on that. Tickets are on sale,
- 10:14Speaker 5: so be sure to get them before they sell out.
- 10:16Speaker 5: White tuxes and tails, did be sure to grab your
- 10:19Speaker 5: tickets for that again, drinking beer, petting dogs, and helping
- 10:23Speaker 5: shelter animals in the process. So quite literally, couldn't be easier.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Well, you know, Steve Animal and I are going to
- 10:29Speaker 2: be there because you mentioned those two things. We're there
- 10:32Speaker 2: every year. We're looking forward to with seeing you down there.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Steve and I will will be there and we'll probably
- 10:36Speaker 2: get a couple of other the hooligans from here to
- 10:38Speaker 2: come down there with us. As well a couple of
- 10:41Speaker 2: texts for you. One says, not just for Angie, but
- 10:43Speaker 2: for any politician listening, what else can possibly be done
- 10:47Speaker 2: to finally put a stop to dumping and abandoning innocent animals?
- 10:50Speaker 2: There are really no consequences for those that do this.
- 10:52Speaker 2: This is the only thing I would support. Flock cameras
- 10:55Speaker 2: for interesting take.
- 10:56Speaker 5: There, Yeah, very interesting. Okay, So I don't have all
- 11:01Speaker 5: the answers. I don't know what's possible within our region
- 11:04Speaker 5: of you know, making you know laws and all that. However,
- 11:08Speaker 5: I will say access to spain Nooter is a big
- 11:12Speaker 5: one right now, and what I think is a big
- 11:15Speaker 5: reason as to why we're seeing all these animals dumped.
- 11:17Speaker 5: So just making spain Hooter more accessible, making spain Hooter
- 11:22Speaker 5: a little bit more affordable, I think that would make
- 11:24Speaker 5: a huge difference in the amount of and I do
- 11:27Speaker 5: put air quotes around this, in the amount of unwanted
- 11:29Speaker 5: pets that are in our region.
- 11:31Speaker 2: All right, So I'm gonna I'm gonna throw this one
- 11:33Speaker 2: on Della get Kaylee Young because I know that she's
- 11:35Speaker 2: an animal person, and so Delegate Young, if you're listening,
- 11:38Speaker 2: you have a task to work on all right. One
- 11:41Speaker 2: other text for you before we let you go says,
- 11:43Speaker 2: do you have a progress report on the new shelter?
- 11:45Speaker 2: Has ground even been broken yet?
- 11:48Speaker 5: So we are beginning the capital campaign, so that will
- 11:53Speaker 5: I don't I don't have all the details, but I
- 11:55Speaker 5: will share them. I will get those and come back
- 11:57Speaker 5: next Friday with those details. But we are starting capital
- 12:00Speaker 5: campaign in order to get the new shelter constructed. You
- 12:03Speaker 5: should be able to see that within the very very
- 12:07Speaker 5: very close future and the progress being made on that.
- 12:10Speaker 2: All right, Angie, I appreciate it as always, and good
- 12:14Speaker 2: luck with everything at Ellen's tomorrow and we'll talk next week. Thanks.
- 12:16Speaker 5: Yeah, absolutely sounds great.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Ange Gil Litwater Canal, Charleston You Maine Association nine nineteen.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Jay is our adopt Me Police Pet of the Week.
- 12:25Speaker 2: Jay is four months old. He's a cat and he
- 12:27Speaker 2: was dumped at the shelter gates with a bunch of
- 12:29Speaker 2: other animals. Great looking cat. Go check out the picture.
- 12:33Speaker 2: It's posted Dave Allen Radio on Facebook, the WCHS network
- 12:37Speaker 2: Facebook page and also at Dave a seventy on X
- 12:41Speaker 2: And he's around four months old and obviously he's good
- 12:43Speaker 2: with other cats. Seems to be good with dogs. He
- 12:45Speaker 2: actually came in with a dog. So there you go.
- 12:48Speaker 2: You're looking for a kitten. I don't know, four months old.
- 12:51Speaker 2: They may not really I guess they're considered kids. Anyway,
- 12:53Speaker 2: Jay is your critter. Please go adopt Jay. Every Friday

- 15:09Speaker 10: You may think speeding a little isn't really speeding, but
- 15:12Speaker 10: even a few miles over the limit has consequences. First,
- 15:15Speaker 10: there's the fine. Your first offense could cost you one
- 15:18Speaker 10: hundred dollars plus court costs, and you'll pay a lot
- 15:21Speaker 10: more if it's your second or third offense. Eventually you
- 15:24Speaker 10: can lose your license or even go to jail, and
- 15:27Speaker 10: those are minor consequences. Speeding causes ten thousand deaths each year,
- 15:32Speaker 10: So next time you think a few miles over isn't
- 15:34Speaker 10: a big deal, think again. This message is brought to

- 16:59Speaker 11: Yeah, you mentioned it. This is the final evening. It
- 17:01Speaker 11: is season twenty two, week number ten, the finale. It's
- 17:04Speaker 11: also back to School Night, so families, moms, dad, grandma's, antsnucles,
- 17:08Speaker 11: bring your kiddo's and your grandchildren down to Hadad Riverfront
- 17:13Speaker 11: part showing bomb stage will be hopping and popping, but
- 17:15Speaker 11: we're going to have lots of really cool activities and
- 17:18Speaker 11: some free stuff for the kiddo's get ready for school.
- 17:21Speaker 11: I can't leave us back to school night. It feels
- 17:23Speaker 11: like back to school night with the weather out there.
- 17:24Speaker 11: I know it's going to get warmer yet, but it
- 17:26Speaker 11: feels a little follish out there this morning, which I love.
- 17:30Speaker 11: We're going to get things started at six thirty for
- 17:32Speaker 11: the first time in the history of Live on the
- 17:34Speaker 11: Levee day, we're opening up and nobody better to open
- 17:37Speaker 11: up and get the party started and get the vibes going.
- 17:40Speaker 11: The positivity that this guy brings is just remarkable, so
- 17:43Speaker 11: we invited him to get things started at six thirty.
- 17:46Speaker 11: So djj's got an hour tonight.
- 17:48Speaker 2: All right, I want to talk to you a little bit.
- 17:50Speaker 2: You know, you're one of the most sought after DJs
- 17:53Speaker 2: in the state and probably well beyond the state of
- 17:55Speaker 2: West Virginia. Of course, how'd you get into this?
- 17:58Speaker 12: I started DJ in in as a child, and I've
- 18:02Speaker 12: been doing it using my uncle's gear and doing block
- 18:06Speaker 12: parties with my cousin and traveling around West Virginia. Moving
- 18:10Speaker 12: down to Beckley for college is really where it started
- 18:12Speaker 12: taking off and started taking it serious. And then once
- 18:14Speaker 12: I landed in Charleston, it was definitely inevitable that that's
- 18:18Speaker 12: what I really wanted to do for a living.
- 18:20Speaker 2: And approximately how many gigs do you do a year?
- 18:24Speaker 12: Approximately, I'm going to say north of seventy because I
- 18:28Speaker 12: do a lot of smaller events as well.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Probably do a multiple one day. You do multiple events too,
- 18:33Speaker 2: I mean I've seen you everywhere.
- 18:35Speaker 12: Yes, there's been times where I'll set up in the morning,
- 18:37Speaker 12: especially some of your like five k walks, some of
- 18:39Speaker 12: your early morning brunch things, and then somebody wants to
- 18:42Speaker 12: do something later in the evening, and if I've got
- 18:44Speaker 12: the ability in the time, I'll put both of them
- 18:47Speaker 12: right on the calendar.
- 18:47Speaker 2: And here's the thing that I like about you, because
- 18:49Speaker 2: I've worked so many events with you over the years,
- 18:51Speaker 2: is that you tailor your show for what the crowd is.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Sometimes you're just kind of in the background, you know,
- 18:57Speaker 2: playing some music, you know. Another times you're really trying
- 19:01Speaker 2: to get the party going. So, if you got an
- 19:03Speaker 2: event coming up, as you said, if it's if it's
- 19:05Speaker 2: a five K, if it's a whatever, this is the
- 19:08Speaker 2: guy you need to get because I mean, you can
- 19:10Speaker 2: you you adapt your show to the crowd that you're playing.
- 19:14Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 19:14Speaker 12: And it's taking some time to get a lot of
- 19:16Speaker 12: our local and regional folks to understand that a DJ
- 19:20Speaker 12: can be utilized for that as well. There was a
- 19:23Speaker 12: time where and you still have to be patient and
- 19:25Speaker 12: educate people to say, well, you know, I can play
- 19:27Speaker 12: the background jazzy brunch sounds. It doesn't have to be
- 19:31Speaker 12: a party. We can have a mixer, we can have
- 19:33Speaker 12: very low key atmosphere and I can do that. So
- 19:37Speaker 12: just taking time to educate people to not be afraid
- 19:39Speaker 12: to book a DJ for something that's not a party, all.
- 19:42Speaker 2: Right, And how can people get in touch with you?
- 19:44Speaker 12: Connect me everywhere at play dj EJ. That's p l
- 19:47Speaker 12: a y dj EJ, PLAYDJJ dot Com, play DJJ on Instagram, Facebook.
- 19:54Speaker 2: And now tonight when you're going to be opening up,
- 19:56Speaker 2: And we'll talk about that a little bit later on,
- 19:57Speaker 2: but I want to talk about how you planned to
- 20:00Speaker 2: perform tonight because first night the Jimmy said it's the
- 20:02Speaker 2: first time that they did the first in the history
- 20:04Speaker 2: of that they've ever done a DJ. What can people
- 20:06Speaker 2: expect when they come out to night?
- 20:07Speaker 12: This is exciting, This is a big deal for DJs,
- 20:09Speaker 12: and it's a great week to be a DJ. Look
- 20:11Speaker 12: at all the cool things that Woody Woods is doing
- 20:12Speaker 12: this weekend as well, and.
- 20:13Speaker 2: All the Greenbrier with New York Giants Camp.
- 20:17Speaker 12: Nick Scott's at the New York Giants Camp, which I'll
- 20:19Speaker 12: be there next week as well, playing their training camp.
- 20:22Speaker 12: So it's a great week and a great time for
- 20:24Speaker 12: DJ's in Appalachian region.
- 20:26Speaker 2: So as far as performance goes.
- 20:28Speaker 12: I'm a turntablist, so I'm going to have actual the
- 20:31Speaker 12: turntables out. You're gonna see me mixing, scratching and playing songs,
- 20:36Speaker 12: not just press and play hanging out and let it
- 20:39Speaker 12: be pre recorded. Everything I'm going to be doing today
- 20:41Speaker 12: is going to be authentic, true DJ and real DJing
- 20:44Speaker 12: for lack of better terms, but respect to the culture
- 20:46Speaker 12: and to the craft of what DJs are and manipulating
- 20:49Speaker 12: the music and watching and reading the crowd.
- 20:52Speaker 2: And it's changed so much over the years. Uh And unfortunately,
- 20:56Speaker 2: and you're you're too classic of a guy to take
- 20:58Speaker 2: shots at anybody, but I'll will uh not anybody in particular. Now,
- 21:02Speaker 2: it's just things. I mean, the Internet has made everybody
- 21:05Speaker 2: think that they're a DJ, and I'm not a DJ.
- 21:06Speaker 2: I used to do it years ago. I'm actually carried
- 21:09Speaker 2: like record players and records and CDs and the whole deal.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Respect Yeah, we're talking about the nineteen eighties. But but
- 21:16Speaker 2: it's made every anybody think they can go online. They
- 21:18Speaker 2: can order something from Amazon that's got you know, one
- 21:20Speaker 2: thousands on library. And that's the DJ that's the easy part.
- 21:23Speaker 2: The entertaining is knowing when to play what and how
- 21:26Speaker 2: to mix it and to and how to talk to people.
- 21:28Speaker 2: That's where the entertainment part comes up.
- 21:30Speaker 12: That's been a whole conversation for the last ten years,
- 21:33Speaker 12: and especially where a lot of jobs are coming and
- 21:37Speaker 12: going and people are searching for new avenues to make money.
- 21:40Speaker 12: DJing is absolutely attainable, right, It's it's something that anybody
- 21:44Speaker 12: can technically buy stuff and get into. But you will
- 21:47Speaker 12: find out that reading in the crowd, that's the foundational
- 21:50Speaker 12: elements of even back in the disco days, back in
- 21:53Speaker 12: the early days of.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Hitting and you're talking gym's language. Now you have these babies. Yep,
- 21:58Speaker 2: you have to read that crowd.
- 22:00Speaker 12: And that is one thing that you can teach, but
- 22:03Speaker 12: is a practical skill that you just have to master
- 22:06Speaker 12: over and over and over. And if you want to
- 22:09Speaker 12: get better at becoming a better DJ, I could be
- 22:12Speaker 12: as technical as I want to be. But if I
- 22:14Speaker 12: don't play to the crowd and read the crowd and
- 22:17Speaker 12: play the right song at the right time, all the
- 22:19Speaker 12: techniques don't matter.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Yeah, and you can't go in and every time was
- 22:22Speaker 2: a set playlist because you think, okay, well this didn't work.
- 22:24Speaker 2: We were just talking about that in the green room.
- 22:26Speaker 2: You go, you gotta kind of you know, vary a
- 22:28Speaker 2: little bit. You play four or five songs, you I gotta,
- 22:30Speaker 2: I gotta pivot, And it says.
- 22:31Speaker 11: This guy reads the room better than anyone I've ever met.
- 22:34Speaker 11: He literally reads the audience and goes like a float chart,
- 22:37Speaker 11: well at school, in this way, better go that's the
- 22:38Speaker 11: way we're going this way, now, better come this way.
- 22:40Speaker 2: So he does a great job. All right. So after
- 22:42Speaker 2: DJ Yeah, Jim.
- 22:43Speaker 11: And then it's Taylor's Story tonight at eight o'clock. So
- 22:46Speaker 11: it's kind of perfect for back to school. This young lady,
- 22:49Speaker 11: her name is Shannon, Shannon Burstford. She's a Canadian, but
- 22:52Speaker 11: she looks, she sings, she acts. It's a tribute to Taylor.
- 22:55Speaker 11: She says, I'm not Taylor. I just love Taylor's music.
- 22:58Speaker 11: I'm gonna sing Taylor's songs. I'm gonna dress like Taylor.
- 23:01Speaker 11: She kind of looks like Taylor. So she's got costume changes,
- 23:04Speaker 11: she's got the live musicians and her backdrop. She's got
- 23:07Speaker 11: four musicians behind her. She choreographs it. I mean it's
- 23:11Speaker 11: it's staged. I mean it's a show. It's high energy.
- 23:14Speaker 11: And she calls it the unofficial Live Tribute Concert to Taylor.
- 23:19Speaker 2: She's got everything.
- 23:20Speaker 11: That Swifties are going to enjoy it. All the Swifties
- 23:24Speaker 11: are going to enjoy it. Are folks over at Moses?
- 23:26Speaker 11: I think Merredith over here on the East, the East
- 23:29Speaker 11: Washington Dealership. She's gonna spearhead this, but Moses is going
- 23:33Speaker 11: to be there.
- 23:33Speaker 2: They're gonna be doing.
- 23:33Speaker 11: Little friendship braces for all the all the folks. Allah.
- 23:37Speaker 11: It's the friendship brace. You make your own and you
- 23:40Speaker 11: wear it. And so most of this is going to
- 23:42Speaker 11: be making some friendship braces, but there's gonna be all
- 23:45Speaker 11: kinds of other vendors there getting kiddos ready for school,
- 23:48Speaker 11: So there'll be lots of pencils and lots of pens,
- 23:50Speaker 11: lots of notebooks, lots of school supplies, lots of fun
- 23:53Speaker 11: activities for the children, the inflatables and the games and
- 23:56Speaker 11: the face painting and the phone phone machines, and of
- 23:58Speaker 11: course I mentioned the friendship bracelets them and lots of
- 24:01Speaker 11: fun things. All of our food vendors will be there.
- 24:03Speaker 11: The Spirited Beverages will be there with four points by Sheridan.
- 24:07Speaker 11: But she'll take center stage Schoenbaum Stage at eight o'clock
- 24:10Speaker 11: after DJJ placed from six thirty to seven thirty. We
- 24:13Speaker 11: take that little break and thank everyone, and then Taylor
- 24:17Speaker 11: Story Shannon Burstford will take center stage and she'll do
- 24:20Speaker 11: a full ninety minute set of course we'll have some
- 24:23Speaker 11: fifty to fifty folks there selling fifty to fifty tickets.
- 24:26Speaker 11: Will do that drawing right after Taylor's story about nine
- 24:29Speaker 11: thirty will wrap up. Season twenty two been a remarkable
- 24:32Speaker 11: I think it's been a great year as far as
- 24:34Speaker 11: the entertainment value. The city did a great job. And
- 24:38Speaker 11: you've had been on the city manager, he's involved with that.
- 24:40Speaker 11: You've had John ingram On, John's involved with it. But
- 24:43Speaker 11: we really stepped up. I think this year the city
- 24:45Speaker 11: did a nice job with the quality of entertainment. You
- 24:49Speaker 11: might not have known everybody that was down there, but
- 24:51Speaker 11: when you came down there, you're like, Wow, these are
- 24:54Speaker 11: really good musicians. They're really professional, they're very entertaining. Alan
- 24:58Speaker 11: Stone last week brought the house down. It's just fantastic.
- 25:01Speaker 11: So the Purple experience was good.
- 25:02Speaker 2: We've had really really good acts.
- 25:05Speaker 11: Twice we had to move indoors and that was intimate
- 25:08Speaker 11: and also very nice. So the city did a really
- 25:11Speaker 11: superb job with the season. Indoors or outdoors, of course,
- 25:15Speaker 11: this thing is Taylor made no pun, intended to be
- 25:17Speaker 11: outdoors and tonight's I think it's going to be the
- 25:20Speaker 11: best weather night of the year. It's going to be warm,
- 25:24Speaker 11: not too hot. Humidity will be nice, nice little breeze
- 25:27Speaker 11: off the Majestic Canal River. I think our mountains are
- 25:30Speaker 11: going to resonate with some great vibes with DJEJ and
- 25:33Speaker 11: then Shannon as Taylor's story, and I think a lot
- 25:36Speaker 11: of folks will be singing along. I'm one of them.
- 25:38Speaker 11: I'm a swifty I'm just gonna say it out loud.
- 25:40Speaker 11: For an old man to be as swifty, it's pretty cool.
- 25:43Speaker 11: And I just I respect her. I've seen her documentaries.
- 25:45Speaker 11: She's a brilliant artist. She's an unbelievable songwriter, and she
- 25:50Speaker 11: outworks everybody. She's just she's really I think she's great.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Listeners have heard me say this, And you be in
- 25:57Speaker 2: a real music I mean, you're a music fan and
- 25:59Speaker 2: you can you know, I can talk music to DJJ.
- 26:03Speaker 2: The thing about Taylor Swift is it's not really my thing,
- 26:06Speaker 2: but I will say I got mad respect for her.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Mad She has been at the top of her game
- 26:11Speaker 2: for twenty years. Wow, go ahead and tell me another
- 26:15Speaker 2: artist that's been at the top of their game without
- 26:17Speaker 2: ever going off the charts for twenty years. I'll wait.
- 26:21Speaker 2: The Beatles no Elvis. No, I mean I'm a good point.
- 26:25Speaker 2: I mean when you said nobody has has dominated the
- 26:30Speaker 2: charts like Taylor Swift has for twenty consecutive years.
- 26:33Speaker 3: And she's still there.
- 26:34Speaker 2: And some have had it and they kind of went
- 26:36Speaker 2: away and then they came back, and you know, much
- 26:38Speaker 2: respect to them, She's unmatched. I mean, and plus she
- 26:41Speaker 2: writes her own stuff and she owns her own stuff.
- 26:44Speaker 2: I mean, I got a lot of respect.
- 26:45Speaker 12: For She's a phenomenon when you look at how much
- 26:48Speaker 12: she's evolved from where she started, and like you said,
- 26:51Speaker 12: writing her own stuff and owning her own stuff, and
- 26:54Speaker 12: how she even switched genres will say, but I always
- 26:57Speaker 12: appreciated the fact that she was in the country space
- 27:01Speaker 12: and then she dabbled more into the pop space and
- 27:03Speaker 12: then did a little club and then did some things
- 27:05Speaker 12: with hip hop artists. That is what she is, an
- 27:08Speaker 12: absolute artist. She's not just one dimensional. Two dimensional.
- 27:12Speaker 2: Yeah, somebody ask if you would take requests tonight, no
- 27:15Speaker 2: line dances, no line, that's the only thing that's out.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Then I pleaded the fifth. Okay, that's a boy. How
- 27:22Speaker 2: many times you gonna do it? Fauci? No, I'm kidding.
- 27:27Speaker 2: I try to have a little fun on Friday, to
- 27:28Speaker 2: get away from the serious stuff is best I can. David,
- 27:31Speaker 2: think it's gonna be a fun night, don't you mean
- 27:32Speaker 2: sha Yeah, I think so. And the weather's as you said,
- 27:35Speaker 2: it's gonna be a little bit warm, yeah tonight.
- 27:37Speaker 13: Uh.
- 27:38Speaker 2: But you know that's why, that's why you got to
- 27:40Speaker 2: You got plenty of places to get water. And if
- 27:41Speaker 2: you want an adult beverage, you can get that as well.
- 27:43Speaker 2: We'll have the food vendors are.
- 27:45Speaker 11: They've had a wonderful year offering up all kinds of different,
- 27:48Speaker 11: eclectic kind of foods and it's just a wonderful experience
- 27:53Speaker 11: to be down there. The vibe is still amazing. People
- 27:56Speaker 11: still tell me, I know, there's lots going on in
- 27:58Speaker 11: the city, and the mayor has done a great job
- 27:59Speaker 11: bringing and the cycling in and the regatta and everything
- 28:03Speaker 11: that we do and at Slack Plaza and best of all,
- 28:05Speaker 11: and there's so many things happening all over our great town.
- 28:09Speaker 11: The Mayor's in city Hall and her staff, they've done
- 28:11Speaker 11: a wonderful job bringing things into the area. But so
- 28:15Speaker 11: many people tell me that Live a Levee is still
- 28:17Speaker 11: like their flagship, like that's the thing like I's going
- 28:20Speaker 11: with that.
- 28:20Speaker 2: That's the flagship off too. It's that after work and
- 28:23Speaker 2: you have so many people that work in Charleston that
- 28:25Speaker 2: may not even go home if they live somewhere in
- 28:27Speaker 2: the outlying areas, they just you know, maybe go out
- 28:29Speaker 2: to dinner somewhere, maybe they wait and grab something off
- 28:31Speaker 2: one of the food trucks that's there, or and it's
- 28:34Speaker 2: kind of like, okay, it's it's kind of a it
- 28:37Speaker 2: is a party, and I know it's especially going to
- 28:39Speaker 2: be a party with you there tonight, but it's kind
- 28:40Speaker 2: of like this is it's the weekend Fridays here.
- 28:43Speaker 11: That was the vision of Tom Lane, the father of Live,
- 28:46Speaker 11: A levee president of city council twenty three years ago,
- 28:49Speaker 11: said David Mogard. David, what can we do to keep
- 28:52Speaker 11: folks in town after five o'clock? Hang out, get a bite, deep,
- 28:56Speaker 11: have a pop, enjoy some music. What can we do?
- 28:59Speaker 11: And that's how Live he got started. Humble beginnings. We
- 29:02Speaker 11: had I think we had six the very first year,
- 29:04Speaker 11: we didn't have had ed Riverfront Park. I think a
- 29:07Speaker 11: pickup truck, would you know, pull in a hay trailer
- 29:09Speaker 11: or something that somebody would get up on the hay
- 29:11Speaker 11: trailer and played about twenty five or thirty people. Then
- 29:14Speaker 11: that the pickup truck would move away. And then United
- 29:18Speaker 11: States Senator Bird came here for a Fourth of July
- 29:20Speaker 11: party before we had the park, and he was he roasted,
- 29:25Speaker 11: and he called Mayor Jones. Mayor Jones will tell you
- 29:27Speaker 11: a great story. Senator Bird said, Hey, I've got some money.
- 29:30Speaker 11: I'm gonna ear Mark. We need a canopy. We need
- 29:33Speaker 11: something down there. I keep the son out of my
- 29:34Speaker 11: eyes when I come and visit Charleston, West Virginia.
- 29:37Speaker 2: And that's how we got the park. We got the
- 29:40Speaker 2: park because of Senator Bird. One.
- 29:43Speaker 11: It's too hot. I'm sweating my rump. Ro stop over year.
- 29:47Speaker 11: I need a shade next time I come back. He
- 29:49Speaker 11: called Danny. Danny called David Mogard. Mogard's like, well, we
- 29:52Speaker 11: need you know X amount of money. Next thing you know,
- 29:54Speaker 11: we have had ed river Front Park. Thank you very much,
- 29:56Speaker 11: Senator Bird.
- 29:57Speaker 2: We love you. That should be that's going to be
- 29:59Speaker 2: in your book, right. I have some stories I can
- 30:01Speaker 2: tell you.
- 30:02Speaker 11: Know I do because you and I often talked about
- 30:04Speaker 11: getting the Danny Joneses and the people that have been
- 30:07Speaker 11: around the city of Charleston and just sit around like
- 30:10Speaker 11: this for hours and tell stories. There's so so many
- 30:13Speaker 11: great ones that people just don't know how things unfolded
- 30:16Speaker 11: and how we got to where we are today.
- 30:18Speaker 2: The only thing is we bring in Tony the Taylor
- 30:20Speaker 2: that's not going to go on the radio, just so
- 30:22Speaker 2: you know that was not going to go on.
- 30:24Speaker 11: We have we'll have to we'll have to get that
- 30:26Speaker 11: and we have to can that interview, and then we
- 30:29Speaker 11: just have to edit.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Yeah, director's cut, yes, right, directors got Ryan will spend
- 30:35Speaker 2: Ryan's going to spend more time, uh in editing it
- 30:39Speaker 2: than what the actual show was probably all right, all right, guys,
- 30:43Speaker 2: remind people again.
- 30:44Speaker 11: Things will get started at six thirty with DJ EJ
- 30:46Speaker 11: down it had ed river Front Park. He'll be on

- 34:01Speaker 2: a moment, just to just to say thank you for
- 34:04Speaker 2: everything that you've done. That's very kind. Yeah, I think
- 34:07Speaker 2: you've done more for me than than I for you
- 34:10Speaker 2: giving me up, I don't want to say anything. Yeah, well,
- 34:12Speaker 2: you know, giving me an opportunity to come in and
- 34:15Speaker 2: talk about the various community things that we've done, whether
- 34:18Speaker 2: it's you know, walktober for WVU Medicine, Galisano Children's Hospital,
- 34:23Speaker 2: or our drop events with Union Mission, the Turkey drop
- 34:27Speaker 2: and drop your socks and drop your snacks and the
- 34:29Speaker 2: flood Relieve drops, don't forget drop your pants.
- 34:33Speaker 19: That's what are we gonna do when he's not gonna
- 34:37Speaker 19: be here? I mean, nobody here else, nobody else has
- 34:39Speaker 19: any ideas. He's the guy with all the ideas and
- 34:42Speaker 19: the silly costumes that go with them.
- 34:44Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, the six foot turkey costume. Man, did you
- 34:48Speaker 2: leave that for ut please? By the way, that's Stephen Jenny.
- 34:50Speaker 19: Yeah, just so you know, well, I thought there was
- 34:52Speaker 19: some gathering over here, so I I and now I
- 34:55Speaker 19: feel like I just came over here and crow barden
- 34:57Speaker 19: my way into his goodbye show.
- 34:58Speaker 2: No, that's all right.
- 35:00Speaker 13: Here.
- 35:00Speaker 2: Here's the thing. Woody is getting ready for Woody Fest.
- 35:03Speaker 2: You know tomorrow that Uh? I jokingly to Antoine out,
- 35:06Speaker 2: so I said, is there a concert or something tomorrow?
- 35:08Speaker 2: Just is there something going on tomorrow? I thought he's
- 35:11Speaker 2: gonna hit me. Yeah, splinter, we call Antoine split. Actually
- 35:14Speaker 2: his own dad calls him splinter now splinter uh and
- 35:17Speaker 2: the animal has a live broadcast out of tractor Pros today,
- 35:21Speaker 2: so he does. So. So you got me and you
- 35:23Speaker 2: got Stephen j Three Hall of famers, well two and
- 35:26Speaker 2: a half, none of the Hall of Famer yet.
- 35:28Speaker 19: Well, if you hang around, you hang around long enough
- 35:31Speaker 19: to run out of people in the well.
- 35:33Speaker 2: I mean, I don't think that was ever going to happen.
- 35:36Speaker 2: That's not the kind of thing.
- 35:37Speaker 19: Well, there's always that you can come back about that.
- 35:40Speaker 2: Well, I mean it's happened before I boomeranged once. I
- 35:43Speaker 2: mean great, of course, as you mentioned it. I mean,
- 35:46Speaker 2: you're gonna be remembered for your show on KWS, but
- 35:48Speaker 2: also for what you did outside the studio. The guy
- 35:51Speaker 2: behind the snack dropped the sock drops, your walk from
- 35:55Speaker 2: Charleston to Morgantown. This seemed like a really good idea
- 35:58Speaker 2: at the time, but when you pulled it off, and
- 36:03Speaker 2: community is very important to you, it is. I believe
- 36:07Speaker 2: that's why we're here. We get to do a lot
- 36:09Speaker 2: of cool stuff. And you know, there's combined probably there's
- 36:14Speaker 2: nearly two hundred years of radio just in this room
- 36:17Speaker 2: right now, and I wonder I feel well, I'm about
- 36:20Speaker 2: half of it, right, Yeah, Marconi was his first intern.
- 36:26Speaker 2: For those of you playing our home game anyway, So
- 36:29Speaker 2: we've all gotten to do lots of cool things and
- 36:31Speaker 2: meet wonderful people and have experiences beyond what we could
- 36:36Speaker 2: have imagined when each of us was I'm going to
- 36:38Speaker 2: guess about nine or ten listening to the radio at home,
- 36:42Speaker 2: you know, the one speaker transistor under the pillow late
- 36:45Speaker 2: at night, thinking man, it'd be really cool to do that,
- 36:47Speaker 2: and then we've gotten to do it. The balance for
- 36:52Speaker 2: all of the cool stuff we've gotten to do is
- 36:55Speaker 2: should be helping our friends and neighbors. There are more
- 37:00Speaker 2: more media options than there have ever been. Folks have
- 37:03Speaker 2: lots of choices, and as I'm sure you guys know,
- 37:06Speaker 2: people can get music anywhere. If they want to hear
- 37:08Speaker 2: Bruno Mars or they want to hear Luke Bryan, there
- 37:11Speaker 2: are a multitude of places they can go get it.
- 37:15Speaker 2: But when they want to connect to their community, when
- 37:17Speaker 2: they want to be part of something, when they want
- 37:19Speaker 2: to sing along and know that folks may be in
- 37:22Speaker 2: the car next to them on I sixty four crossing
- 37:25Speaker 2: the bridge are singing along listening to the same song
- 37:28Speaker 2: when they when they want that fabric or potholes the
- 37:32Speaker 2: correct time. Yes, you do it with the right rhythm.
- 37:36Speaker 2: You can get the swear words in between the lyrics.
- 37:38Speaker 18: You can't.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Yeah, she said, with a little experience, I think local
- 37:45Speaker 2: radio is where you want to go, and especially with
- 37:48Speaker 2: WVRC media. We are here. We are proud to live
- 37:52Speaker 2: here too. That is not something we just say. We
- 37:54Speaker 2: are not run out of San Antonio or Atlanta, or
- 37:57Speaker 2: New York or Los Angeles. We are right here in
- 38:01Speaker 2: our community, rolling up our sleeves, doing these things to
- 38:05Speaker 2: hopefully make life a little better for our friends and neighbors,
- 38:08Speaker 2: whether that's three minutes at a time in the morning.
- 38:11Speaker 2: For I go back to the stat all the time,
- 38:13Speaker 2: only nine percent of people love what they do for
- 38:15Speaker 2: a living. I means ninety one percent of the folks
- 38:18Speaker 2: who are out there, ten out of eleven are just
- 38:21Speaker 2: going to work because they got bills to pay, in
- 38:22Speaker 2: kids to feed. And if we can make that trip
- 38:28Speaker 2: better within three minutes of them turning on the radio, terrific.
- 38:31Speaker 2: If we can make their neighborhood better, terrific. If we
- 38:33Speaker 2: can make kids healthier and happier and thriving through the
- 38:38Speaker 2: Children's Miracle Network even better. That's the whole reason why
- 38:43Speaker 2: I continue to get up in the morning at I'm
- 38:44Speaker 2: not a morning person.
- 38:45Speaker 19: Now, let me ask you this because I've said the
- 38:48Speaker 19: same thing essentially when you started this, and by the way,
- 38:52Speaker 19: it was a fifth grade obsession with me is when
- 38:54Speaker 19: it started. Yeah, I never imagined it would end up
- 38:58Speaker 19: being what you just described. I just thought I want
- 39:01Speaker 19: to go on the radio and play these songs that
- 39:03Speaker 19: I like. Yeah, and I think that'd be fun. And
- 39:06Speaker 19: it turned into something that I could have never imagined.
- 39:09Speaker 2: I found myself saying recently that I was a kid
- 39:12Speaker 2: who didn't get enough attention for my satisfaction and I
- 39:16Speaker 2: thought I had something to say. It has very much
- 39:19Speaker 2: evolved into I get to speak for our community. I
- 39:24Speaker 2: get to be the voice for a whole lot of
- 39:26Speaker 2: people because they let me play with these toys, they
- 39:29Speaker 2: put this microphone in front of me, they give me
- 39:31Speaker 2: a big transmitter, and I get to do stuff to
- 39:35Speaker 2: help people.
- 39:35Speaker 19: It's the feeling of getting the help someone that I
- 39:38Speaker 19: mean again, it's it's not not any I never thought
- 39:41Speaker 19: I would be doing things that I do or or
- 39:44Speaker 19: want to try to do, and the same thing for
- 39:46Speaker 19: you and then Jenny, and I'm sure Dave too. You
- 39:49Speaker 19: just didn't start that way. No, but I'm glad it
- 39:52Speaker 19: ended this week.
- 39:53Speaker 2: No, yeah, it was about music and girls and free food.
- 39:56Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, and free food and you know, no,
- 40:01Speaker 2: but to me, it's just about the food. Yeah, I'm
- 40:04Speaker 2: here for the tics, but it ain't nothing wrong with that.
- 40:07Speaker 2: But that's the case. But you're gonna be going to
- 40:10Speaker 2: South Carolina, which is where you were originally from, because yes,
- 40:14Speaker 2: Indiana is where I people think that you're from, but
- 40:17Speaker 2: you really you're a South Carolina guy who ended up
- 40:19Speaker 2: in Indiana, and so but that's where that's where you're going.
- 40:21Speaker 2: I did the most time in Indiana. I was born
- 40:24Speaker 2: in the Other Charleston and this is the only place
- 40:26Speaker 2: in the world where you refer to South Carolina as
- 40:27Speaker 2: the Other Charleston. But when I was six, was sent
- 40:30Speaker 2: to live with my grandparents in southeastern Indiana, so I
- 40:34Speaker 2: grew up there mostly. My two bachelor's degrees are from
- 40:37Speaker 2: Butler University. My my master's degree is actually from Notre Dame.
- 40:41Speaker 2: So there's a lot of Indiana connection. In fact, I
- 40:44Speaker 2: had about a decade's worth of my career at one
- 40:47Speaker 2: station before this vagabond thing really took over.
- 40:50Speaker 19: Dude, you've got two degrees and a master's and you're
- 40:53Speaker 19: doing this.
- 40:54Speaker 2: So I get asked a lot. I have a bachelor's
- 40:57Speaker 2: in journalism with a minor in music. I have a
- 41:00Speaker 2: bachelor's in history with a focus in economics. I have
- 41:02Speaker 2: a master's of Global Affairs.
- 41:05Speaker 19: I'm impressed, I really am.
- 41:06Speaker 2: I didn't mean to sound like Andy's Marine. Well, minor
- 41:10Speaker 2: league baseball player, broken down, old catcher, broken down, old marine.
- 41:14Speaker 2: I have a CDL, I have a valid teaching license.
- 41:17Speaker 2: I have a Series seven and actually went to cabinet
- 41:20Speaker 2: makers School for a little while. So what are you
- 41:22Speaker 2: three hundred years old? It feels like it. But I
- 41:27Speaker 2: tell you all that to tell you that I can
- 41:28Speaker 2: do a lot of things, and I choose to do this,
- 41:31Speaker 2: that this, this is a vocation, This is a calling
- 41:34Speaker 2: for us, all right. So I remember when you came
- 41:37Speaker 2: back the second time Coop did an interview with you
- 41:40Speaker 2: on the show. I was off that day, but I
- 41:42Speaker 2: was driving back to Charleston and I was listening to it.
- 41:44Speaker 2: Coop did a great job of letting everybody get you know,
- 41:47Speaker 2: because I didn't know I didn't know you as we
- 41:49Speaker 2: are passing across you, but I listened to the interview.
- 41:53Speaker 2: But here's what Coop didn't do. He didn't do what
- 41:56Speaker 2: I do with all of the new hires in the building,
- 41:59Speaker 2: and that is to welcome them into the studio to
- 42:02Speaker 2: play ten questions. All right, so Rob Real, on your
- 42:05Speaker 2: last day with us at Charleston, You're gonna play ten questions.
- 42:07Speaker 2: I'm going to present you with ten questions. You are
- 42:10Speaker 2: to answer in a rapid fire style. Please verify that
- 42:12Speaker 2: you have not seen the questions. I have not seen
- 42:13Speaker 2: the questions. Say I've been buried in the mayonnaise jar
- 42:16Speaker 2: under Franken Wignell's porch. In my hand, I hold ten questions,
- 42:20Speaker 2: ten prepared in a lab somewhere near Amandeville. And to
- 42:24Speaker 2: your listeners, to our listeners, yes, do not try this
- 42:27Speaker 2: at home. And as always, please no wager, no wagering.
- 42:30Speaker 2: All right, are you ready? I'm as ready as I
- 42:33Speaker 2: get coffee, caffeinated or non caffeinated, hotter iced, Doctor Pepper
- 42:37Speaker 2: zero favorite US President, Oh James K.
- 42:40Speaker 10: Polk.
- 42:42Speaker 2: Of course it is. He's the only president who accomplished
- 42:45Speaker 2: all four of his major campaign promises. All right, you
- 42:47Speaker 2: order a burger? What goes on it? Pepper jack, cheese, bacon,
- 42:51Speaker 2: and maybe some if there's a spicy ranch or aole.
- 42:55Speaker 2: Name any sitcom star of any era that you'd like
- 42:57Speaker 2: to hang out with. Dick and your second grade teacher's name, password,
- 43:05Speaker 2: missus passwords. Actually I skipped the second grade, of course
- 43:08Speaker 2: you did, so.
- 43:09Speaker 1: I know mine.
- 43:10Speaker 4: If you want to ask Missus Phillips, Missus Methuselah, Sorry
- 43:19Speaker 4: that one, Missus Klein?
- 43:21Speaker 2: All right, Genny, who is yours? I don't remember? Okay? Uh?
- 43:25Speaker 2: Back to food. You're order a milkshake? What flavor is it?
- 43:28Speaker 2: Twek or milkshake? Butterscotch? Actually, let's say scotch is not
- 43:33Speaker 2: an option, but butterscotch is. You're driving coast to coast
- 43:37Speaker 2: and only can listen to one artist? Who is it?
- 43:39Speaker 2: The Eagles, cats are dogs both. You are known for
- 43:43Speaker 2: your nearly one thousand baseball caps. Well, what's the oldest
- 43:46Speaker 2: one in your collection? Uh? Wow, that's tough because one
- 43:51Speaker 2: of the reasons I collect them is my mother tossed
- 43:54Speaker 2: my caps when I was overseas, the few that I had,
- 43:57Speaker 2: and so I started hanging on to them. Probably one
- 44:01Speaker 2: of my fatigue caps the Red Marine Corps with the
- 44:05Speaker 2: gold insignia and USMC. That's all right. Finally, question, a
- 44:09Speaker 2: talent you have other than radio that sets you apart
- 44:12Speaker 2: from other people. I didn't know talent was required. I mean,
- 44:20Speaker 2: I can make a lot of ridiculous voices. The talent
- 44:23Speaker 2: you have other than radio, I don't know, Jenny, what
- 44:27Speaker 2: stopped everybody? Jenny, Well, he's a health and fitness smart
- 44:30Speaker 2: all talent. I don't know about that. All right, I'll
- 44:34Speaker 2: go back to the cabinet maker thing. I built nearly
- 44:36Speaker 2: every piece of furniture that's in my former residence. I'd
- 44:40Speaker 2: tell you more, but my divorce lawyer says I'm not
- 44:42Speaker 2: allowed to. You completed ten questions. I've completed more than that.
- 44:49Speaker 2: What does he win the gifts? Apparently? Well? I got
- 44:54Speaker 2: some pictures, Yes, a nice little frame of the we
- 44:57Speaker 2: call ourselves the Four Horsemen. Yes, it's very nice. Animal
- 45:00Speaker 2: and Shockley, you know, the Mountain Misfits. And then I
- 45:03Speaker 2: play the part of Bender, Yeah, which I have more
- 45:05Speaker 2: of that voice going today. All right, Rob has been pleasure,
- 45:09Speaker 2: my friend, it has it has been. It has been
- 45:11Speaker 2: my honor to be a part of this. All right,
- 45:14Speaker 2: good luck, thank you, and uh when I go down
- 45:16Speaker 2: to Saint Simon's, which I frequently do, I say frequently,
- 45:20Speaker 2: like once a year. That's radio. That's frequently more frequently
- 45:23Speaker 2: than we do.
- 45:24Speaker 15: Well.
- 45:25Speaker 2: I passed right through Columbia, I mean yeah, I passed
- 45:29Speaker 2: right through. My seventy seven goes right through there, and
- 45:31Speaker 2: I got a great Mediterranean place. I'm ready to show
- 45:33Speaker 2: and asked Rob if I could crash on his couch
- 45:36Speaker 2: instead of getting a hotel. He said, ruth an can,
- 45:39Speaker 2: but you can't. Yeah, said what Yeah, I mean I
- 45:42Speaker 2: only it's only a studio, so yeah, she can. Okay,
- 45:45Speaker 2: you know, all right, go do something with your life.
- 45:50Speaker 2: But Dave Allen show on five Edyeline brought to you
