- 2:08Speaker 3: to be in New Orleans, dude. It's like seventy five
- 2:09Speaker 3: degrees all week long, big game right by Bourbon Street.
- 2:12Speaker 3: Everyone's having a good time. We got the barstool, guys
- 2:14Speaker 3: hanging out the birthplace of Jazz, the birthplace allegedly the
- 2:18Speaker 3: birthplace of Jazz. I don't think it is, though, Mississippi
- 2:22Speaker 3: Delta Cha GPT told me I took a class. Shout
- 2:27Speaker 3: out Bruce com Forth, my teacher. He asked me not
- 2:29Speaker 3: to take the class. I don't think it is. I
- 2:31Speaker 3: think it's like a common misconception. And what do you
- 2:34Speaker 3: think is the Mississippi Delta.
- 2:36Speaker 2: See, look, the birthplace of jazz is wildly recognized as
- 2:39Speaker 2: New Orleans.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Well yeah, but I feel like Bruce com Forth, my
- 2:42Speaker 3: blues teacher at Michigan, ship on that and he was like,
- 2:46Speaker 3: a lot of people think it's this, but it's actually
- 2:47Speaker 3: the Mississippi Delta. Robert Johnson he sold to sold the
- 2:50Speaker 3: Devil at the cross Roads, those types of things, right crossroads. Uh, sure,
- 3:00Speaker 3: Motown's Memphis. No, I could tell that that was Motown
- 3:12Speaker 3: Records isn't Memphis. I'll say this, listen, this is not
- 3:18Speaker 3: a history podcast. This is a sports podcast. Our guest today,
- 3:21Speaker 3: we're the two stars, the hosts, a part of my tape,
- 3:24Speaker 3: the sports podcast in the world, just absolutely gracing them
- 3:28Speaker 3: with our presence. Hey, if you want to be in
- 3:31Speaker 3: the intro, you can go ahead and sit here. That
- 3:37Speaker 3: is that Detroit. That was a crazy mess. It was
- 3:39Speaker 3: a crazy mess.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Big cats here fun fact Motown is in Detroit. Cat
- 3:47Speaker 2: GPT is correctt.
- 3:49Speaker 3: GBT, Yes, but dude, great podcasts A lot of fun,
- 3:54Speaker 3: some some good bro time, talking a little bit of ball,
- 3:56Speaker 3: talking about the p m T how they started, when
- 3:59Speaker 3: they got to PFT and Big Cat, the way they
- 4:02Speaker 3: met absolutely beautiful.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I do feel like we got into some good storytelling,
- 4:05Speaker 2: Yes do you think so, Bigcat. I feel like we
- 4:07Speaker 2: got into some good depths of the origin story of
- 4:10Speaker 2: both Big Cat and PFT finding a pardon my take
- 4:15Speaker 2: the surgeons of that while they're in the company and
- 4:17Speaker 2: you are a younger company that just got acquired by
- 4:20Speaker 2: Penn at the time, or churnin my.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Fault, taking the leap of jumping into the podcast as
- 4:24Speaker 3: quickly as they did once PFT got to New York.
- 4:28Speaker 3: Just a crazy thing.
- 4:28Speaker 2: Yeah, how Busting with the Boys can still can still
- 4:31Speaker 2: try to succeed outside of Barsols Sports by following everything
- 4:34Speaker 2: that they do. Yep, we'll just have to drop our
- 4:36Speaker 2: episodes a day later. But a lot of good stuff,
- 4:39Speaker 2: a lot of good stories. If you are in New
- 4:40Speaker 2: Orleans this week, highly recommend what is it the Acmeat
- 4:43Speaker 2: Oyster House. A lot of meat on those oysters, a
- 4:47Speaker 2: very good oysters.
- 4:48Speaker 3: So one place will is eaton as we've been here.
- 4:50Speaker 3: We got here at ten o'clock today.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Are you more of a raw or chargrilled oysters?
- 4:54Speaker 3: I am more of a chargrold guy. I do like oysters.
- 4:57Speaker 3: It's not my favorite thing in the world. Like I
- 4:58Speaker 3: see the way you sell you and J Pece salivate
- 5:00Speaker 3: over it. I like a char char boiled. This is
- 5:03Speaker 3: called trouble char grilled, char grilled, charboiled whatever. Rockefeller style.
- 5:07Speaker 3: I like a little I like a little bit of
- 5:09Speaker 3: parmesan on there, some herbs, some butter. That's what I
- 5:11Speaker 3: like on.
- 5:11Speaker 2: My You like a little Southern mix in your.
- 5:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I like some fixings on top of my oysters.
- 5:16Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying, the whole fixing thing. And that's
- 5:17Speaker 2: why I like the raw, because I feel like you
- 5:19Speaker 2: have a variety of things that you can do with
- 5:21Speaker 2: said oyster versus just having it one style.
- 5:23Speaker 3: And I love your heads it. Let me take you
- 5:24Speaker 3: a little bit further. I like to get my charuboil
- 5:26Speaker 3: oysters to already have fiixins on them, and I think,
- 5:28Speaker 3: take more fixins and I put those fix on the top.
- 5:31Speaker 2: All Right, we got an episode out that I think
- 5:33Speaker 2: you'll love and enjoy with parton my take, and we
- 5:38Speaker 2: will kick that off right after this ad.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Read right after we're gonna do it. I read right
- 5:41Speaker 3: after it's been five minutes.
- 5:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you can jump into I think everybody's exciting.
- 5:45Speaker 3: To be honest with you, I'm nervous to read this
- 5:48Speaker 3: ad in front of big cat.
- 5:50Speaker 2: You think so hey, you can't do it on that
- 5:51Speaker 2: it's the one on the screen.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Gosh, that's a bigger one. That's a big one.
- 6:01Speaker 2: You don't read the screen.
- 6:03Speaker 3: No, I can't read this. I can't see it.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Come on, dude, you gotta read the screen. You do
- 6:06Speaker 2: it every week on the bus.
- 6:07Speaker 3: My eyes are getting worse. Dude, you're getting worse.
- 6:09Speaker 2: You do it every week on the bus.
- 6:11Speaker 1: This is the first word. Is that the word that
- 6:13Speaker 1: you're worried about?
- 6:14Speaker 3: No, no, no, just reading in general public and then my
- 6:17Speaker 3: eyes have gotten worse. Uh were.
- 6:21Speaker 1: Dude.
- 6:22Speaker 3: We don't have this episode to bring you Draft Kings.

- 7:37Speaker 3: Did you like that? L I X I oh see
- 7:42Speaker 3: the episode We're rolling now? It's good you Big was.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Our was our first Super Bowl episode last year and
- 7:48Speaker 2: the audio was just weren't on.
- 7:50Speaker 3: It was insane who was the guy who's the audio
- 7:54Speaker 3: guy that did that.
- 7:55Speaker 2: We don't we don't want.
- 7:59Speaker 3: You, but like that was a really bad fuck up. Dude.
- 8:03Speaker 6: Look the jps here we had a sound guy Scottsdale
- 8:08Speaker 6: that I think he screwed up the audio of the
- 8:11Speaker 6: post Eagles chief super Bowl where Max was like super
- 8:14Speaker 6: super sad and it just disappeared. And I think was
- 8:18Speaker 6: it the handka to spend that's that's the luxury where
- 8:24Speaker 6: me and a big catterat where now like show is
- 8:26Speaker 6: over like that and there's a big, big fuck up.
- 8:29Speaker 6: We're just like, well, at least we don't have to
- 8:30Speaker 6: do ship.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Yeah, And then you said you're like, all right, we're
- 8:34Speaker 2: never going to get a contractor in this remote location again,
- 8:38Speaker 2: Well we do.
- 8:38Speaker 5: We do sound guys every time we do these trips,
- 8:40Speaker 5: and it's funny because they just become like part of
- 8:42Speaker 5: our show for an entire week. This week we have
- 8:45Speaker 5: a guy named Ian who was wearing he was wearing
- 8:47Speaker 5: a legit trained doctor hat.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Yeah. I don't know what was going on.
- 8:50Speaker 3: He wasn't just put it on just but.
- 8:53Speaker 1: We got some yeah, weird guys.
- 8:54Speaker 5: There was that guy in Houston who was like like
- 8:57Speaker 5: where do you live He's like, I live in the woods.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Like, okay, it was like one hundred and two degrees.
- 9:04Speaker 6: He was wearing black jeans, long sleeved black shirt every day,
- 9:08Speaker 6: same outfit, and he just went home to the woods.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:11Speaker 5: And there was that other guy who laughed at all
- 9:14Speaker 5: of our jokes, and we're like, we want to keep.
- 9:15Speaker 1: This guy right.
- 9:16Speaker 5: He would literally like laugh out loud, which you're I
- 9:18Speaker 5: don't think you're supposed to do his sound.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Well, we're recorded, but it adds a nice elbow. Is
- 9:23Speaker 1: sick jokes anymore?
- 9:25Speaker 2: Yeah, Because you listen to like two Bears or any
- 9:28Speaker 2: of those comedic podcasts and you hear the laughing in
- 9:30Speaker 2: the background, it's like, oh yeah, brings the show to
- 9:33Speaker 2: life a little.
- 9:33Speaker 6: Have you ever tried to watch an episode of Friends
- 9:35Speaker 6: without the laugh track?
- 9:37Speaker 1: On? No very depressive?
- 9:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I did see.
- 9:39Speaker 3: I did see a clip on Instagram the other day
- 9:41Speaker 3: of like it was a scene of Friends with Ross,
- 9:43Speaker 3: but they edited out all the characters so it was
- 9:45Speaker 3: like ross Es schizophrenia. It was hilarious. There was no laugh track.
- 9:48Speaker 1: What with these mics that we were holding.
- 9:50Speaker 5: We're just trying to see if we have like feats
- 9:52Speaker 5: of strength something because I'm it's wait.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Dude, twenty five, you show up and would you show up?
- 9:58Speaker 1: You can get traded for being fat? Now do you
- 10:00Speaker 1: guys know about Luca?
- 10:01Speaker 2: Yeah, we heard about Luca. We heard about the Luca trade.
- 10:03Speaker 2: I saw that.
- 10:06Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't know, like JJ wasn't told ahead of time.
- 10:10Speaker 6: Do they respect JJ enough?
- 10:12Speaker 2: Do they respect any of those guys enough? Didn't wouldn't
- 10:15Speaker 2: Jason Kidds just sitting at the podium. Yeah, I didn't
- 10:17Speaker 2: care about any of it.
- 10:18Speaker 6: Yeah, I was sad he was just sitting there with
- 10:20Speaker 6: a thousand yards stare. Why was he even there? But
- 10:23Speaker 6: the GM made this crazy deal and then he just
- 10:26Speaker 6: had Jason Kidds sitting next to him, like, if you
- 10:28Speaker 6: have any questions for Jason, feel free, you know, chime in.
- 10:31Speaker 6: And Jason was like, you, dude, you you ruined my life.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Or Jason might have just wanted to sit there and
- 10:35Speaker 2: be like, I have to sit on this so people
- 10:37Speaker 2: know I had nothing to do with it.
- 10:38Speaker 6: Have you ever seen those those like press conferences that
- 10:42Speaker 6: people do if they get caught doing something like really
- 10:44Speaker 6: fucked up cheating on their wife, and they bring their
- 10:47Speaker 6: wife with them and have them sit there. Oh yeah,
- 10:50Speaker 6: that's what this was with Jason Kidd.
- 10:52Speaker 5: Kobe had got the big ring. Yeah, you got it,
- 10:54Speaker 5: like the biggest ring ever for Vanessa.
- 10:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:58Speaker 2: Gregor's wife was next to him during the lawsuit. Yeah,
- 11:01Speaker 2: walking everywhere around.
- 11:02Speaker 3: What a rider die for that?
- 11:03Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah is that Robbie Fox. That is tough. I
- 11:07Speaker 1: mean Tiger had to do.
- 11:08Speaker 5: Yeah, Tiger had to do a press conference being like,
- 11:10Speaker 5: I love sex, what are you gonna do?
- 11:12Speaker 1: I think his mom was at that one. I think so, Yeah,
- 11:16Speaker 1: his mom was. He's like, mom, you know me?
- 11:19Speaker 2: Yeah, Well yeah, morning. Uh love having you guys on.
- 11:26Speaker 2: I was texting with you guys last week. It wouldn't
- 11:28Speaker 2: feel right if we went five years and didn't have
- 11:30Speaker 2: the actual part of my take both of you together. Yeah,
- 11:32Speaker 2: big cat, we've had one who completely botched audio pft
- 11:35Speaker 2: still yet to ever even be on.
- 11:36Speaker 5: The Also, I was on the bus in Tennessee when
- 11:38Speaker 5: you guys tried to smoke us out.
- 11:40Speaker 1: It's like a thousand degrees. Brandon literally got a migraine
- 11:43Speaker 1: from it.
- 11:43Speaker 3: That was on the gravel right.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, that was those early days.
- 11:46Speaker 6: Yeah, I am a little bit disappointed that I will
- 11:49Speaker 6: never be on the bus. I've always wanted to do
- 11:52Speaker 6: a podcast inside a moving vehicle. It's been my dream,
- 11:55Speaker 6: and unfortunately it's very fun. I'll never get there doesn't
- 11:58Speaker 6: even move.
- 11:58Speaker 2: I hate to let you down. It's not it doesn't move.
- 12:00Speaker 6: Yeah, oh really, well yeah we could tell it though.
- 12:03Speaker 1: I mean, Vanny. Vanny's gonna be back soon.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Yeah, you guys got to watch out in a big way.
- 12:08Speaker 5: Danny's gonna Vanny's getting refurbished Vann. He's gonna be able
- 12:11Speaker 5: to it. Was it was dead, so Vanny. We bought
- 12:16Speaker 5: Vanny was it seven years ago? First five hundred bucks. Uh,
- 12:22Speaker 5: did a bunch of stuff out of it, did interviews,
- 12:24Speaker 5: did Grit Week, and then I kept on paying the
- 12:27Speaker 5: car insurance and it was just like this is stupid.
- 12:29Speaker 5: We're never using it doesn't work anymore. So we told
- 12:31Speaker 5: Billy to scrap Vanny. We're like taking the scrap yard.
- 12:35Speaker 5: Here's the title, turn it in. He's like, got it,
- 12:37Speaker 5: got it, got it. He's like, all right, all done,
- 12:39Speaker 5: Title's done. You don't have to pay insurance anymore. And
- 12:42Speaker 5: then two years past and Billy hit us up and
- 12:44Speaker 5: was like, hey, what do you guys want me to
- 12:45Speaker 5: do with Vanny, Like, what do you.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Mean you said you scrapped it? He's like, yeah, I didn't.
- 12:50Speaker 1: I just I just kept it.
- 12:51Speaker 3: He just.
- 12:54Speaker 6: He essentially, I mean he found a parking spot for
- 12:56Speaker 6: it that it sat there unbothered for a couple of years.
- 12:59Speaker 6: So as far as I'm turned, like, good job.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:01Speaker 5: It's basically like what when they do, like a movie
- 13:04Speaker 5: or a show does a lazy thing where they kill
- 13:06Speaker 5: off a main character and then their twin brother shows up.
- 13:09Speaker 5: That's what happened with Van. Actually it's not dead. So yeah,
- 13:12Speaker 5: we're gonna get Vanny back on the road.
- 13:14Speaker 2: How long was Vanny? How long was Vanny alive before
- 13:16Speaker 2: he was dead?
- 13:17Speaker 1: Like?
- 13:17Speaker 2: How often did you guys?
- 13:19Speaker 1: We used it?
- 13:20Speaker 2: I remember Bo went on that right, but went on.
- 13:22Speaker 5: We went to Youngstown for a Bacie tournament. We went
- 13:24Speaker 5: and interviewed JJ watt and Wisconsin blew Attire. After that
- 13:28Speaker 5: we went to the tournament draft and then actually go ahead, Yeah,
- 13:32Speaker 5: we went to danny Woodhead. We got we went to
- 13:33Speaker 5: the draft. Driving back from the draft and Philly got
- 13:36Speaker 5: pulled over. Only time it's ever worked. Cop was just
- 13:39Speaker 5: like he came up to us and was just like
- 13:41Speaker 5: oh fuck, it's you guys. And he's like, all right,
- 13:44Speaker 5: just be safe, Like, okay, you pulled over. I think
- 13:47Speaker 5: none of the tail lights were on. I mean, yeah,
- 13:51Speaker 5: it's not very safe. There was a hole in the
- 13:54Speaker 5: floor of Vannie, so when you're driving on the highway
- 13:56Speaker 5: you could just see I was like in the middle area.
- 14:00Speaker 5: We also, we were driving once back from Youngstown. All
- 14:03Speaker 5: four tires blew out at the exact same time, going
- 14:06Speaker 5: seventy miles.
- 14:07Speaker 1: No way.
- 14:09Speaker 5: It turns out when you buy a van for five
- 14:11Speaker 5: hundred dollars, that's what you're you're gonna have some problem.
- 14:13Speaker 3: But did you guys drive yourself or did you have
- 14:15Speaker 3: it sent places?
- 14:16Speaker 1: No, we drove it. We all got in there and
- 14:18Speaker 1: drove it. Well, big Cat drove it.
- 14:21Speaker 6: Big Cat has an issue with anybody else.
- 14:23Speaker 1: I like to drive. Yeah, the driver get carsick.
- 14:27Speaker 6: The first trip we ever took on the I think
- 14:29Speaker 6: it was the r V, it was like, I'd like
- 14:31Speaker 6: to drive.
- 14:31Speaker 1: Big Cat was just like what I get car?
- 14:34Speaker 6: I drive?
- 14:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:35Speaker 6: I was like oh okay, yeah, yeah.
- 14:38Speaker 2: I'm kind of like, you know, women's equal rights, like
- 14:42Speaker 2: my wife will split.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, your your wife will drive you around?
- 14:47Speaker 3: Yeah? Not you right, Yeah, I think my wife is
- 14:50Speaker 3: driven me one time and then.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Eight years have been married, right, Taylor.
- 14:54Speaker 3: I kind of actually I kind of wish like that
- 14:56Speaker 3: because I get Taylor.
- 14:58Speaker 2: I would love to be when you were you were,
- 15:01Speaker 2: you were the mail and happens all right, I know anything.
- 15:05Speaker 1: The one hundred and forty million, you got, that's because it's.
- 15:09Speaker 2: Anytime we do get in the car, I know I'm
- 15:11Speaker 2: good because I know he'll drive.
- 15:12Speaker 3: I love driving. I do.
- 15:13Speaker 2: And my wife too, I mean, you know, yeah, she's like,
- 15:17Speaker 2: all right, I'm driving this time because you gotta deal
- 15:19Speaker 2: with the kids in the back.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:21Speaker 1: That sucks. Yeah, that does suck. When you're driving with kids.
- 15:24Speaker 1: You can just be like I'm driving, Yeah, Like I gotta.
- 15:27Speaker 3: Focus on space.
- 15:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 15:29Speaker 3: We went to thirty eight. We did the whole drive
- 15:31Speaker 3: from Nashville. There was like eight hours and that's the
- 15:33Speaker 3: whole time talent was out there working with the kids,
- 15:35Speaker 3: and I'm like, I gotta focus, Onta, I gotta focus
- 15:37Speaker 3: right here, save for this family safe the entire time.
- 15:39Speaker 3: I'm actually doing most of the work.
- 15:41Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, exactly, Like you're the hero there. Speaking of
- 15:43Speaker 5: the one hundred and forty million, have these guys like
- 15:45Speaker 5: spent any of it? Is it like good Fellas where
- 15:48Speaker 5: you know JP one comes in with a mink coat
- 15:50Speaker 5: and you're like, guys, the deal hasn't even done.
- 15:52Speaker 3: Yeah, back, deal hasn't even started.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Back you got to go back to which was JP one?
- 15:57Speaker 3: That's JP one? What's JP two?
- 15:59Speaker 1: Just right down the wad?
- 16:02Speaker 5: And then there's Shirm who you gotta watch out for sure,
- 16:04Speaker 5: there's no doubt about it. Sam thinks he's a little
- 16:06Speaker 5: bit of a star. Doesn't follow me back, which is
- 16:10Speaker 5: just a total funk you to me. I followed him really? Yeah, yeah,
- 16:15Speaker 5: he's sure.
- 16:17Speaker 3: I think it's had a million follows.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Sure thinks that he's he's next up.
- 16:21Speaker 5: He is going to watch out for he's looking, he's looking.
- 16:26Speaker 5: He's like, oh well, Taylor's got a lot of injuries.
- 16:29Speaker 5: It might be me sitting in that bust with Will.
- 16:33Speaker 3: Is that true? Yeah?
- 16:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I like your stuff.
- 16:39Speaker 3: Speaking of spending money, and before this deal was even
- 16:42Speaker 3: done anything deal? Sure?
- 16:44Speaker 2: You know a deal?
- 16:48Speaker 1: Are the NFL contract?
- 16:50Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 16:50Speaker 1: We were.
- 16:51Speaker 3: So we were at the shop and Sham doesn't lift
- 16:52Speaker 3: far away and he talked to our shoves really small
- 16:54Speaker 3: and Sherman was talking about getting a communal what moped
- 16:57Speaker 3: for the shop?
- 16:58Speaker 2: Yeah, scooter, like a motorized scooter.
- 17:00Speaker 3: It's like, sure, we don't like there's literally you walk
- 17:02Speaker 3: ten steps at the end of the shop, right, that's
- 17:04Speaker 3: all you. It'd be great, but the guys morale.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Knowing that you take, guys can give you advice watching
- 17:10Speaker 1: missing with Yeah, I listen. If we did truth here
- 17:13Speaker 1: and with all the jps, that'd be like, sure's problem
- 17:16Speaker 1: because to show up. Yeah, we're just gonna basically try.
- 17:20Speaker 3: To create because that's a well known fashion.
- 17:24Speaker 1: I think you can do it.
- 17:25Speaker 6: Yeah, I think they're keeping you down.
- 17:28Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 17:29Speaker 1: Yeah, how much they painting?
- 17:32Speaker 3: Sure enough?
- 17:34Speaker 1: What about to keep him quiet enough? Okay, interesting, we'll
- 17:40Speaker 1: give me a call. Well, once you follow me, you
- 17:42Speaker 1: can d m me.
- 17:43Speaker 3: Literally, as soon as this whole split up between barcelonas happened,
- 17:48Speaker 3: Shirm's gonna come and be like, hey, I'm going to
- 17:50Speaker 3: if there was like was.
- 17:52Speaker 2: The one too he was ready to give Jackie's like
- 17:54Speaker 2: I'm gonna give jack that Chevy Silverado. Yeah, you're just
- 17:57Speaker 2: kicking our guys off.
- 17:58Speaker 5: One in my when you guys, uh completely screwed over
- 18:03Speaker 5: Jack and didn't give a Chevy Silverado, which justice for Jack?
- 18:05Speaker 5: That was bullshit, that's I was. There was a moment
- 18:10Speaker 5: there was like there was a twenty minute moment where
- 18:13Speaker 5: I was like, I might just buy Jack a Chevy Silverado.
- 18:16Speaker 5: Big dick these guys, and I was like, wait, that's
- 18:18Speaker 5: not that funny for like seventy thousand dollars.
- 18:23Speaker 1: But there was a moment where I was like.
- 18:25Speaker 3: This would have been the ultimate. It would have been
- 18:26Speaker 3: the ultimate.
- 18:27Speaker 5: F Then I was like, maybe I'll just random one,
- 18:29Speaker 5: and it's like that's not funny. So you know, they
- 18:31Speaker 5: deserve you deserve a Chevy silver I would get you on, Yeah,
- 18:35Speaker 5: I would if he still worked still worked.
- 18:36Speaker 1: At I'm you have two trucks?
- 18:40Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah.
- 18:42Speaker 6: I wish that there was like an account that, you know,
- 18:43Speaker 6: there was to follow NBA players and let you know,
- 18:46Speaker 6: like who they're following now online. I wish that there
- 18:49Speaker 6: was one that did that for podcasts or like sum
- 18:51Speaker 6: now follows and then everybody's like, what does this means?
- 18:55Speaker 1: Not happening, that's happening.
- 18:58Speaker 6: What was the account that Kuzma followed?
- 19:01Speaker 1: What was her name?
- 19:03Speaker 3: Damn?
- 19:04Speaker 1: You know it was even better than that, So what
- 19:06Speaker 1: is what is this?
- 19:06Speaker 3: This account that says who follows who? Because said you
- 19:08Speaker 3: know that the account, and I said yes, but I truly
- 19:10Speaker 3: actually have no idea.
- 19:11Speaker 6: They just like follow NBA players and every time they've
- 19:14Speaker 6: got like a bot written for it, and every time
- 19:15Speaker 6: an NBA player follows somebody new, they put out a
- 19:17Speaker 6: post like this person just followed this person.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Sometimes it happened to in the NFL with like if
- 19:22Speaker 2: a trade might happen, Like when a j was unfollowing
- 19:26Speaker 2: the Titans. Unfollowing the Titans, He's officially unfollowed the Titans. Yes,
- 19:29Speaker 2: did you guys ever shopping you ever?
- 19:31Speaker 3: Never the unfollowed? Never to the delete posts of all
- 19:35Speaker 3: the things you follow?
- 19:36Speaker 6: Barstool, what's that whatever?
- 19:39Speaker 3: Will?
- 19:39Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 19:40Speaker 3: When I was, I came up, we got to keep
- 19:41Speaker 3: our creativity alive and going yeah takes doing, Yeah, they
- 19:46Speaker 3: got a vandage.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Should yeah we should block them.
- 19:49Speaker 2: I don't whatever washing. Whenever Washington unfollowed, I was pretty heartbroken.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah when they told you.
- 19:57Speaker 2: Yeah, whenever I went to the Titans like they they
- 19:59Speaker 2: unfollow me, and I was like, oh sad boy for
- 20:01Speaker 2: a little bit exactly, like I'm still cool with everybody
- 20:04Speaker 2: over there. You know, you still support the boys though, right, yeah, yeah,
- 20:07Speaker 2: I'm not like uh you know, I'm not. I'm not
- 20:10Speaker 2: like with Washington the vyum with Nebraska.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 20:13Speaker 6: With Washington they win some games every now and again.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Or what I'm saying.
- 20:19Speaker 6: The difference is Washington they win some games.
- 20:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 20:22Speaker 2: Now they're in the driver's sea.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Ye. Are we worried about Rayel looking a little pudgy.
- 20:27Speaker 2: No, that's I think he goes better with wat.
- 20:30Speaker 3: You saw them getting Pat Mahomes ship for me having
- 20:32Speaker 3: a dad bod.
- 20:33Speaker 5: I understand that's the three Mahomes. You can have a
- 20:36Speaker 5: dad body when you have three Super Bowls and follow me.
- 20:39Speaker 2: Rail is gonna be nice. Rail is gonna be nice.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Okay, I'm just saying.
- 20:42Speaker 2: And number one transfer class in the Big ten.
- 20:44Speaker 3: I know you saw that's not according to HU three.
- 20:47Speaker 3: We had this conversation on the plane.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Yeah, but we don't have to get into it on threes,
- 20:51Speaker 2: like only compassing transfers who also left twenty four to
- 20:54Speaker 2: seven is just your transfer class that comes in there.
- 20:57Speaker 3: So wouldn't the argument be all encompassing them.
- 21:00Speaker 1: No, it's very simple. You go, what.
- 21:02Speaker 6: Wisconsin give ranking.
- 21:04Speaker 3: Wisconsin's like fifteenth deal. What are you guys dealing with
- 21:08Speaker 3: It's just no, We're.
- 21:10Speaker 6: Just we're going.
- 21:11Speaker 5: We just they keep scheduling the hardest schedule in the world.
- 21:15Speaker 5: Everyone name a team we play it. Oregon, yes, Alabama, yes, Michigan, yes, yes,
- 21:24Speaker 5: it's it's the hardest schedule.
- 21:26Speaker 3: He has have too many whites. Like, whites are definitely
- 21:28Speaker 3: making a comeback in football, but not this.

- 22:18Speaker 2: do you think we who would be on like the
- 22:20Speaker 2: all white team if we did like football fell?
- 22:22Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 22:22Speaker 6: Do you think that they would beat the all black thing?
- 22:25Speaker 1: I don't know. We'd have to do. We have enough time.
- 22:27Speaker 1: How long does this podcast go?
- 22:28Speaker 3: As long as you want to be something a great
- 22:30Speaker 3: original idea?
- 22:31Speaker 6: Who starts at at quarterback? We're going to Josh or Joe?
- 22:35Speaker 2: I think, yeahsh either one.
- 22:37Speaker 5: You let him battle it out for a couple We
- 22:39Speaker 5: got a problem though, with cornerbacks. We got Cooper Dejean.
- 22:43Speaker 5: I don't think we have problems Ethan Bonner, Ethan Bonner.
- 22:46Speaker 5: And then who's our edge Rusher's gonna be TJ?
- 22:49Speaker 2: You got Max.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Hutchinson.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Okay, what about wide receivers?
- 22:54Speaker 3: Lad, the confis definitely in there.
- 22:56Speaker 6: We got We're just we're just.
- 23:04Speaker 3: It's a good break.
- 23:07Speaker 1: We're not running back running back is.
- 23:12Speaker 6: I don't know. I'm going to leave that up to him.
- 23:13Speaker 3: I think we definitely can claim him.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Yeah you can.
- 23:16Speaker 6: I don't feel comfortable claiming people really.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, I think yeah, what we do for running back?
- 23:24Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, but I don't know. I don't know.
- 23:29Speaker 1: You're retired, No, he's not retired. Yeah, here's a question.
- 23:34Speaker 3: We were talking about this before the show. Do you
- 23:35Speaker 3: think who has a better career, Ashton Genty or scatter Bo.
- 23:39Speaker 5: Probably Genty that I don't know, he's better.
- 23:44Speaker 6: I mean, I I love watching Scatterbo. Feel like if
- 23:47Speaker 6: he goes, if he goes to Denver, Sean Payton is
- 23:50Speaker 6: going to be like Taysom Hill is back. Yeah, it's
- 23:54Speaker 6: younger and he's might maybe not quite as good a passer,
- 23:58Speaker 6: but this this kid is going to get the ball gives.
- 24:00Speaker 3: You saw the giving aainst Texas.
- 24:02Speaker 1: He had a great pass Ye.
- 24:05Speaker 5: Yeah, Scatibo is good. I mean that all the there's
- 24:07Speaker 5: so many running backs in this draft.
- 24:09Speaker 3: Yeah. The thing too, the thing that got me on
- 24:11Speaker 3: Scatabo because the Ashton Genty to me was like, obviously
- 24:13Speaker 3: you have the best career of all of them. But
- 24:15Speaker 3: then Scatabo and his pre his pregame press conference being
- 24:19Speaker 3: like I'm gonna bury Texas, I'm gonna go go to
- 24:21Speaker 3: work on them, basically giving all the Bolton bar material
- 24:24Speaker 3: in the world and then actually doing it. Yeah actually,
- 24:28Speaker 3: and then all of a sudden he started going crazy.
- 24:30Speaker 3: He's throwing up a little bit little boot and rally.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Damn do you guys ever have uh, do you ever
- 24:36Speaker 2: feel real tension between the whole Jane Daniels.
- 24:40Speaker 1: No, I can't.
- 24:41Speaker 6: I don't really feel intention because I'm just too busy
- 24:43Speaker 6: being happy.
- 24:43Speaker 2: There were are there any days that you come in
- 24:46Speaker 2: and you're kind of like, I'm not gonna say a
- 24:47Speaker 2: whole lot because I you know, the work speaks for its.
- 24:50Speaker 1: No, because I don't.
- 24:51Speaker 6: I don't think about how big Cat thinks about my
- 24:55Speaker 6: quarterback at all. I am. I love watching Jayde play
- 24:58Speaker 6: and there's nothing that can like, I'm not gonna come
- 25:00Speaker 6: and be like, man, maybe I shouldn't talk about Jaden
- 25:02Speaker 6: as much because Big Cat's sad. No, I fucking love
- 25:05Speaker 6: Jayden Daniels.
- 25:06Speaker 1: He is the best.
- 25:06Speaker 6: I've never had as much fun watching a quarterback as
- 25:09Speaker 6: I have with Jaydon Daniels. Now, Big Cat might be
- 25:11Speaker 6: upset that I that I'm so happy, No, but frankly
- 25:15Speaker 6: I didn't care.
- 25:15Speaker 5: I was for a little bit and then I just
- 25:18Speaker 5: and Jane Daniels like I reached a point where I
- 25:20Speaker 5: was just like, he's fun to watch and I can't
- 25:23Speaker 5: really there's nothing you.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Can do about it, you know what I mean?
- 25:25Speaker 5: Like, like, I don't like when there's a lot of
- 25:29Speaker 5: people like, oh, first read guy or this or that,
- 25:31Speaker 5: it's like, oh, he's got a Cliff Kingsbury.
- 25:33Speaker 1: It's like, dude, he's just good, you know.
- 25:35Speaker 5: And hopefully Caleb Williams progressive because that's the other The
- 25:38Speaker 5: one thing I will say is the Internet and this
- 25:40Speaker 5: has nothing to do with Jadan Daniels, but the internet
- 25:42Speaker 5: has shit on Caleb to a point where it's like
- 25:44Speaker 5: if you if you pold people, you'd be like, he
- 25:47Speaker 5: had a terrible season. It's like, no, he didn't. He
- 25:49Speaker 5: had He had a pretty good season for a rookie.
- 25:51Speaker 5: Given the fact that his OC got fired, his next
- 25:54Speaker 5: OC became head coach. Three weeks later, his head coach
- 25:57Speaker 5: got fired.
- 25:58Speaker 1: I don't know. I think he's gonna be all.
- 26:00Speaker 3: I because everyone said he's gonna be the greatest thing
- 26:04Speaker 3: in the world.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Yeah, there was a lot of hype. I mean that
- 26:06Speaker 1: was years.
- 26:06Speaker 5: People basically said he's gonna be Jada Dane two years.
- 26:09Speaker 5: The two years thing always is tough. We just had
- 26:11Speaker 5: Andrew luck on and we were talking to him about it. Like,
- 26:13Speaker 5: when you're the number one, the consensus number one pick
- 26:16Speaker 5: for two years running, people get exhausted of you, and
- 26:19Speaker 5: they tear you down and they you know, Andrew Luck actually.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Had a great answer. You're just like, no, I was
- 26:23Speaker 1: that good.
- 26:26Speaker 5: He's like, yeah, I earned that, And I was like,
- 26:28Speaker 5: that's I want that answer, you know what I mean,
- 26:30Speaker 5: Just like, no, I didn't even think about it because
- 26:33Speaker 5: I knew I.
- 26:33Speaker 1: Was that good.
- 26:34Speaker 3: I wish he was still playing so bad. I know,
- 26:36Speaker 3: actually I'm happy he's not.
- 26:37Speaker 1: I'll put it this way.
- 26:38Speaker 6: If somehow it started to interrupt, if they put Caleb
- 26:40Speaker 6: back somehow into the draft for next year, knowing what
- 26:44Speaker 6: we already know about Caleb, and for whatever reason they
- 26:46Speaker 6: were like, no, Chicago Bears, you're not allowed to have
- 26:48Speaker 6: this guy anymore. He's going back into the draft. He
- 26:50Speaker 6: would go number one, Yeah, he would. He's better than
- 26:52Speaker 6: Shador and Cam.
- 26:53Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:54Speaker 3: I guess it's like, yeah, you could say that.
- 26:56Speaker 1: I think JJ McCarthy would probably go ahead of the
- 26:59Speaker 1: JAB wrong. Yeah, probably, he probably didn't.
- 27:02Speaker 3: He was in a tough spot.
- 27:03Speaker 1: Imagine we literally played this scenario and he didn't go. Yeah,
- 27:11Speaker 1: I actually think he's gonna be good. Jar.
- 27:13Speaker 3: Think about JJ is like his season roller coaster, Like
- 27:16Speaker 3: he gets hurt. Everyone's real sad, Oh, the Minnesota's gonna
- 27:18Speaker 3: be really bad. Then Sam Donald goes off and they're
- 27:21Speaker 3: going to keep Sam. Jj, you probably get traded, and
- 27:23Speaker 3: then the playoffs happened and Sam ships the bed like.
- 27:26Speaker 1: That were never going to keep saying. I mean they
- 27:27Speaker 1: were maybe gonna franchise.
- 27:29Speaker 3: Legit conversations going on.
- 27:31Speaker 1: They were never.
- 27:31Speaker 6: I think if he if he had beaten the lines,
- 27:33Speaker 6: if he had won his opening round playoffs, if he
- 27:35Speaker 6: had like lit it up in the playoffs, I think
- 27:37Speaker 6: they would give him a contract.
- 27:38Speaker 1: I think they would have franchised.
- 27:39Speaker 6: How do you walk away from that?
- 27:43Speaker 5: Yeah, you have a cheat code with JJ McCarthy on
- 27:45Speaker 5: a rookie deal, like you can make your team so
- 27:47Speaker 5: much better.
- 27:47Speaker 3: But if you have that good of a record and
- 27:49Speaker 3: then you go to JJ Sam.
- 27:51Speaker 5: You franchise tame do it again, because it's like the
- 27:53Speaker 5: Daniel Jones DANL. Jones had one good year and then
- 27:56Speaker 5: they're like, oh, this is gonna be this is the
- 27:58Speaker 5: year that he figured it out. No, he had a
- 28:00Speaker 5: you know, a year that was outside of what his
- 28:02Speaker 5: normal was.
- 28:03Speaker 2: If you guys, if the Bears got the redraft from
- 28:05Speaker 2: this last class, do you still want Caleb over Jayden.
- 28:07Speaker 5: No, you'd probably take Jane. I mean, I still believe
- 28:10Speaker 5: in Caleb, but I mean Jayden was incredible this year.
- 28:12Speaker 3: Incredible.
- 28:13Speaker 1: I mean, I'm curious I can't fight anymore.
- 28:16Speaker 3: He was.
- 28:17Speaker 1: He went to the NFC Championship ifty.
- 28:18Speaker 3: Did you get a little nervous though that the last
- 28:20Speaker 3: time the Washington team had that rookie? That's not mean,
- 28:24Speaker 3: that's actually I mean it mean.
- 28:27Speaker 6: It's mean because obviously I get very nervous about it
- 28:29Speaker 6: all the time. I live every yame. Every time he
- 28:33Speaker 6: gets tackled, I'm I say fuck every time somebody hits him.
- 28:37Speaker 6: And there he takes some hits where it seems like
- 28:41Speaker 6: his knee is gonna break, like he got hit by
- 28:42Speaker 6: the Falcons one time, just bent over his leg and
- 28:45Speaker 6: I was like, well, there goes my happiness.
- 28:48Speaker 3: I got it.
- 28:48Speaker 6: I got another like solid fifteen weeks end this season.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Who's running this, by the way, sure sure we didn't
- 28:55Speaker 1: know who rg thie was?
- 28:59Speaker 3: Mike Doggery.
- 29:00Speaker 6: Yeah, talking about of course, I get very nervous all
- 29:03Speaker 6: the time with him all the time, because if you
- 29:05Speaker 6: get one bad hit, it can it can screw everything up.
- 29:08Speaker 6: But I think I think the way that he plays
- 29:11Speaker 6: is a little bit different from Robert. I think that
- 29:13Speaker 6: his rookie year already way better as a pocket passer.
- 29:16Speaker 6: So when he runs, yes, he takes big shots. That
- 29:19Speaker 6: makes me very scared.
- 29:20Speaker 3: But even when he runs like he'll take big shots,
- 29:23Speaker 3: but there's other times where he can tell it's over
- 29:25Speaker 3: where Argie threw trying to try to dive, he just
- 29:27Speaker 3: kind of gets down. Yeah, he's smarter about it. Seems
- 29:29Speaker 3: like he's a little smarter about his mortality.
- 29:31Speaker 1: So let me ask you.
- 29:32Speaker 6: This will especially because as a linebacker you can't really
- 29:35Speaker 6: hit quarterbacks right. But Lamar Jackson does this and Jayden
- 29:40Speaker 6: does this too. Instead of sliding, sometimes they like dive
- 29:44Speaker 6: at the legs of the linebackers, like head first, shoulder first.
- 29:47Speaker 6: I feel like that's a very smart move because it's
- 29:50Speaker 6: like you're not going to absorb that hit where you're sliding,
- 29:52Speaker 6: your head's close to the ground, you get like one
- 29:55Speaker 6: little deflection and bounces off the turf. As a quarterback,
- 29:58Speaker 6: I feel like the dive at the defenders legs is
- 30:00Speaker 6: a better move.
- 30:01Speaker 2: I honestly agree. And I guess my thought is is
- 30:05Speaker 2: like when did did quarterbacks fumble the ball all the
- 30:08Speaker 2: time before, Like, you know, if Lamar and Jane are
- 30:11Speaker 2: kind of normalizing diving forward, isn't that the whole risk
- 30:14Speaker 2: of like why guys don't dive in the first place.
- 30:16Speaker 2: And I have no basis on that other than I
- 30:19Speaker 2: don't remember quarterbacks fumbling a lot when they were diving,
- 30:21Speaker 2: except for outside of when you're playing mad and you
- 30:23Speaker 2: seem to always smumble when you dive.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Yeah, every time.
- 30:25Speaker 6: There was There was one play where RG three was
- 30:28Speaker 6: he was diving forward, I think it was his second year,
- 30:30Speaker 6: and he just dove forward and then just left the
- 30:33Speaker 6: ball on the ground back to the huddle and the
- 30:35Speaker 6: other team just picked it up like that, and RG
- 30:38Speaker 6: three was like, yeah, that's a sucky rule until he
- 30:40Speaker 6: like blamed the rule afterwards and then they changed it.
- 30:42Speaker 1: That was the old Plasko, right. Was he the first
- 30:44Speaker 1: to do it?
- 30:45Speaker 3: Did he just drop the ball?
- 30:48Speaker 5: I want to say, went down and just just dropped
- 30:52Speaker 5: it because he's like, it's over by the way, it was.
- 30:56Speaker 1: Mis Thick Overload was who Kyle Kuzma followed.
- 31:00Speaker 7: And there's like Kyle Kuzma's now following mis Thick Overload,
- 31:05Speaker 7: and then everyone retweeted, and then he and the it
- 31:07Speaker 7: was like four hours later, like Kyle Kuzma has unfollowed
- 31:10Speaker 7: mis thick over.
- 31:11Speaker 3: That's so tough, y.
- 31:13Speaker 2: Know, how sick was it when you guys uh had
- 31:16Speaker 2: your appears on Hard Knocks, We're with You, with You
- 31:19Speaker 2: out of Camp Barstool?
- 31:21Speaker 5: That was very you remember though, I'm I'm so paranoid
- 31:24Speaker 5: that like any media outside of like Barstool is gonna
- 31:28Speaker 5: just like rip us somehow, because we've been burned so
- 31:30Speaker 5: many times. So I was just like they're like, oh, yeah,
- 31:33Speaker 5: we want to put you in there, and I'm like, oh,
- 31:34Speaker 5: they're gonna be like here it goes. They're just it's
- 31:36Speaker 5: it's not like burned. It's just gonna be like they're
- 31:39Speaker 5: not gonna say, oh, pardon my take. They're gonna be
- 31:41Speaker 5: like in the controversial you know blog Barstool Sports, right
- 31:45Speaker 5: like the world outside of your Yeah, cause we've had
- 31:48Speaker 5: that a million times where it's like someone will come
- 31:50Speaker 5: and be like, oh, I want to do a piece
- 31:51Speaker 5: on you guys, and it's just all hip piece.
- 31:53Speaker 2: I feel like it's kind of turned for you guys,
- 31:56Speaker 2: Like between that you guys being on the the Nickelodeon
- 31:59Speaker 2: when we were streaming.
- 32:00Speaker 1: I was crazy.
- 32:01Speaker 3: Ask you about that.
- 32:02Speaker 1: They had no idea, So you're just watching the game
- 32:04Speaker 1: and all of a sudden we were like, what the
- 32:07Speaker 1: fuck it was.
- 32:07Speaker 6: Adam Scheffer's soner Too, had introduced us. That would be
- 32:10Speaker 6: funny if she was like and problematic.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that was crazy. That was awesome.
- 32:17Speaker 3: What if all the things you guys have been doing
- 32:19Speaker 3: this for so long? What is like the coolest thing?
- 32:20Speaker 3: You guys were like, holy shit, look.
- 32:22Speaker 1: At that good question. Been doing this?
- 32:26Speaker 5: I think probably anytime, like the like the Spotify thing
- 32:31Speaker 5: that happened last week where I don't know if you
- 32:33Speaker 5: guys saw they gave Spotify is doing like plaques now,
- 32:36Speaker 5: So they did Joe Rogan and like a try crime
- 32:40Speaker 5: podcast had like five hundred million downloads and then we
- 32:43Speaker 5: get a silver plat because we're like two hundred and fifteen.
- 32:45Speaker 5: It was like us and like three other crime podcasts.
- 32:49Speaker 5: Those moments are always like holy shit, like that's very
- 32:51Speaker 5: crazy and.
- 32:52Speaker 3: That's big time.
- 32:53Speaker 2: You guys have lived in that Spotify top three for
- 32:55Speaker 2: I mean as long as I can remember.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's been We've been pretty fortunate.
- 32:59Speaker 6: I was gonna say, maybe the cool thing is at
- 33:01Speaker 6: the at the start of the football season this year.
- 33:03Speaker 6: I think it was opening Sunday. I wake up in
- 33:06Speaker 6: the morning and I have a text on my phone.
- 33:08Speaker 6: It's sent to me in Big Cat from Chris Berman. Yeah,
- 33:11Speaker 6: just wishing us a happy start to the regulation. Yeah,
- 33:14Speaker 6: like enjoy this boys picks off today. And I'm like, wait, Chris,
- 33:18Speaker 6: like the guy I used to tune in and watch
- 33:20Speaker 6: every Sunday morning, is like reaching out and personally welcoming
- 33:24Speaker 6: me to the twenty twenty four NFL season.
- 33:26Speaker 3: That is awesome.
- 33:27Speaker 5: Yeah, it's like like Boomer Like even Jerry O'Connell, who
- 33:31Speaker 5: we interviewed, Jerry O'Connell. The first time we interviewed him,
- 33:34Speaker 5: we just said yes because we we had like kind
- 33:36Speaker 5: of a policy where it's like if the person, if
- 33:38Speaker 5: it's in person, we'll just say yes and see how
- 33:40Speaker 5: it goes. And like an interview like that, we're like,
- 33:43Speaker 5: he doesn't know sports, he's just gonna talk about acting.
- 33:45Speaker 5: And then he's become like a like institution in the
- 33:49Speaker 5: fabric of like our little world.
- 33:50Speaker 1: Yeah, we type of things are so cool.
- 33:52Speaker 6: We tried to cancel that interview, yeah, the very first one. Yeah,
- 33:55Speaker 6: because me and Big Cat love to cancel plans.
- 33:57Speaker 1: It is. It's the most fun.
- 33:59Speaker 6: And uh we finally got a booker that that would
- 34:02Speaker 6: slip the cancel plans hold and shout out Kelly. She
- 34:06Speaker 6: would like holdus accountable. And we told her like the
- 34:08Speaker 6: morning of yeah, I don't really want to do this
- 34:10Speaker 6: interview today, and she was like, you're doing this fucking interview. Yeah,
- 34:13Speaker 6: I booked it, like okay, yes, ma'am. And Jerry came
- 34:17Speaker 6: in and just blew us away. We're like, we love
- 34:19Speaker 6: this guy, yeah, and yeah he's Jerry's a good guy.
- 34:22Speaker 1: You guys don't like canceling plans.
- 34:24Speaker 5: Best feeling when you like forget plans when you have
- 34:26Speaker 5: like an interview where it's like, all right, I want
- 34:29Speaker 5: to do this interview, but it's not like a I
- 34:30Speaker 5: have to do this interview and it's like, oh, the
- 34:32Speaker 5: person can't do it.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Another hour of just doing nothing. I could do anything
- 34:37Speaker 1: with this free hour.
- 34:40Speaker 3: That one chair in the gambling cave.
- 34:42Speaker 1: It's the same.
- 34:43Speaker 5: It's the same thing of like trying to find a
- 34:44Speaker 5: movie on a Friday night with your wife being like
- 34:47Speaker 5: oh what are we getting there?
- 34:48Speaker 1: Like, ah, fuck it, I don't want to.
- 34:49Speaker 5: Watch a movie, and like you know, give up two hours,
- 34:52Speaker 5: Let's just watch seven episodes of the Office, Like, oh,
- 34:57Speaker 5: I don't have time to sit down and watch a movie.
- 34:59Speaker 5: Let me just sit down for three and a half
- 35:00Speaker 5: hours and watch South Carolina and Clubs.
- 35:02Speaker 6: Like, who do you guys have scheduled for Friday of
- 35:04Speaker 6: this week?
- 35:05Speaker 3: Fridays we're leaving?
- 35:07Speaker 1: Oh potentially, so that's it. We'll never see you again.
- 35:11Speaker 3: That well, that's up to you.
- 35:12Speaker 1: We're doing a four day work week. It's actually coming
- 35:14Speaker 1: up to you, guys.
- 35:15Speaker 3: That will be an open door policy.
- 35:16Speaker 6: Then then tour stayed open planning program.
- 35:20Speaker 2: There's some program going on Friday morning, and we might
- 35:23Speaker 2: have an interview.
- 35:24Speaker 3: Wait, because if it doesn't happen, it's I know, it
- 35:29Speaker 3: may be.
- 35:29Speaker 6: A big interview.
- 35:30Speaker 3: So I mean, yeah, yeah, potentially.
- 35:32Speaker 6: Bryson who Bryson, Oh, Bryson d Chambo? Yeah, there you go.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Come on, who is that Bryon Chambo?
- 35:44Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 35:45Speaker 2: Come on, man, there.
- 35:47Speaker 5: He is right there, bro Yeah yeah yeah, Bryce Shamba
- 35:50Speaker 5: its bombs.
- 35:51Speaker 1: Wait, So when does the deal actually end?
- 35:53Speaker 2: The end of this month, the end of February. So
- 35:56Speaker 2: so this is like the week of like the going
- 35:58Speaker 2: away week. It feels like it's over after this week,
- 36:01Speaker 2: but it's technically not over until the.
- 36:02Speaker 1: End of February. Got it? And then what is going
- 36:04Speaker 1: to change? Is anything going to change?
- 36:06Speaker 2: Not really?
- 36:07Speaker 6: No, Okay, it's like you got you're going from wearing
- 36:11Speaker 6: the green dot to now coaching the team.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought about that. Yeah, do you get mad?
- 36:17Speaker 1: Will has CEO of busting on his LinkedIn.
- 36:23Speaker 3: Someone told me the other day too, Wills.
- 36:26Speaker 5: Someone posted Will's uh, Will's uh, Like you see some
- 36:30Speaker 5: of the bios in the list of things that he
- 36:32Speaker 5: did in college, and it was like he put himself.
- 36:36Speaker 1: He was like, you know, worked with clients and then
- 36:39Speaker 1: parentheses beast.
- 36:42Speaker 2: Something like parking the car.
- 36:45Speaker 3: Linked in like a week ago.
- 36:46Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, Will Ceo. So nothing's gonna change.
- 36:50Speaker 3: No, nothing is going to change.
- 36:51Speaker 1: These guys all all good.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Yeah, they're getting a pay raise the rocks after this conversation,
- 36:57Speaker 3: but there's negotiations going on.
- 37:01Speaker 6: You're they like that people get today?
- 37:05Speaker 1: Did they buy you guys lunch?
- 37:07Speaker 3: Yeah? I get you has coffees.
- 37:08Speaker 1: No, he says no. You say yes, and he knows
- 37:11Speaker 1: we get them lunch. Who brought the last catered lunch?
- 37:16Speaker 2: You brought it to the show?
- 37:18Speaker 3: Who did them some cat bagels last week.
- 37:21Speaker 6: Think about us, think about us as we take care
- 37:23Speaker 6: of our but we take care of I just I
- 37:24Speaker 6: just dropped one hundred twenty bucks on lunch for all
- 37:26Speaker 6: the boys.
- 37:27Speaker 1: Yeah, wow, because I believe in them.
- 37:28Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, we take care of her.
- 37:30Speaker 6: We got five, Yeah, we get five guys. I had
- 37:33Speaker 6: Smashburger the other day. Guy, have you had Smashburger? Smash
- 37:38Speaker 6: Burger is really I think Smashburger's next up.
- 37:41Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 37:42Speaker 1: I go five guys in and out?
- 37:45Speaker 3: We're doing this.
- 37:45Speaker 1: I think in and out's over it.
- 37:47Speaker 3: This is the first time.
- 37:51Speaker 2: What we're just spitball.
- 37:53Speaker 1: We're just talking.
- 37:54Speaker 6: No, but you guys, have you have you had smashed
- 37:57Speaker 6: five guys?
- 37:57Speaker 1: Are you guys?
- 37:57Speaker 2: Now?
- 37:58Speaker 6: I've never had smash Burger.
- 37:59Speaker 3: No, there's a time.
- 38:00Speaker 1: Very good.
- 38:00Speaker 5: All right, So yeah, let's talk about burger. So I
- 38:03Speaker 5: didn't in it out? Have you guys done this? I'm
- 38:07Speaker 5: sorry if you guys don't. Yeah, Okay, In and out
- 38:11Speaker 5: I mean I get in some weird energy here. In
- 38:14Speaker 5: and out is the best burger. But the fries are.
- 38:16Speaker 1: A little overright, I agree with all that.
- 38:18Speaker 6: Okay, the fries at five guys are so good. And
- 38:20Speaker 6: they give you so much of them. Yes, they fill
- 38:22Speaker 6: up the bat.
- 38:24Speaker 3: But the burger, we're talking about burger.
- 38:25Speaker 1: We're just talking about We're talking about the burgers going out.
- 38:28Speaker 3: Yeah, it has to be I really thought about.
- 38:32Speaker 6: I think five guys is better burger. They get all
- 38:34Speaker 6: the toppings on there, the topics.
- 38:36Speaker 3: That's what I remember the conversation a long time ago
- 38:39Speaker 3: about this. But if you give me too many options
- 38:41Speaker 3: for the burger, now that we have a problem because
- 38:42Speaker 3: I get too excited about the options.
- 38:44Speaker 1: And then we just know what you want. I need to be.
- 38:46Speaker 3: Told how to have my burger. What was the other
- 38:48Speaker 3: your little sub combinations? Yeah, and give me like four
- 38:51Speaker 3: or five combinations. I'll pick one you like.
- 38:52Speaker 6: Choke me out, Ronald McDonald will tell me what I
- 38:55Speaker 6: want to tell me what I around on the lead?
- 38:57Speaker 2: What was? Oh?
- 38:58Speaker 5: Do you guys think that the NFL players would be
- 39:01Speaker 5: better at NBA or the NBA players.
- 39:06Speaker 3: Prepared for this podcast than he did.
- 39:08Speaker 2: He couldn't wait.
- 39:09Speaker 1: We told me he couldn't find us all the debates,
- 39:11Speaker 1: I mean, sprinkle it.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Just replay the hits.
- 39:14Speaker 6: Yeah, offensive tackle, yeah, I think yeah, that seventy with
- 39:20Speaker 6: your your your heaviest.
- 39:22Speaker 3: Three sixteen, three sixteen the episode heaviest ever was what
- 39:26Speaker 3: did that feel? So it was terrible? I was more
- 39:28Speaker 3: like A, I mean three, I'll wait to three twelve.
- 39:31Speaker 3: I got over three twelve.
- 39:31Speaker 1: I was like, I gotta did you tell the story?
- 39:33Speaker 5: It might have been someone else like saying like in
- 39:35Speaker 5: college you had to wake up in the middle of
- 39:36Speaker 5: the night to eat.
- 39:37Speaker 3: Oh, yeah it was. That's brutal shots of olive oil.
- 39:40Speaker 3: But Peter take at the alfredo pasta chicken.
- 39:44Speaker 1: Oh, Lebron would be a great tight end. That's true
- 39:49Speaker 1: in high school.
- 39:50Speaker 3: Yeah, he did.
- 39:51Speaker 2: When the football guys were at the game the other
- 39:53Speaker 2: night and he's like standing next to him, that is like.
- 39:55Speaker 1: A I don't think though.
- 39:57Speaker 5: Tell me this. If you put Wemby he's seven what
- 40:01Speaker 5: seven or something? Seven six wings, you put Wemby goal
- 40:06Speaker 5: line package, he just takes one step and he throw
- 40:09Speaker 5: it up to him. Who's defending that? But do you
- 40:12Speaker 5: like the ball?
- 40:13Speaker 1: That's pass interference?
- 40:14Speaker 3: No? Not if he's on a defensive lineman. You say
- 40:17Speaker 3: defense lineman, No.
- 40:18Speaker 5: No, no, I'm taking he's tight end. He's out wide. He
- 40:21Speaker 5: put him out wide. He's a wide receiver. All right,
- 40:23Speaker 5: and he just takes a step and you just throw
- 40:25Speaker 5: the ball up. He's got his hands go up to
- 40:27Speaker 5: like ten feet that he can touch the rim, standing
- 40:31Speaker 5: on his standing on.
- 40:32Speaker 3: Two time basketball players are brought up in football. I
- 40:34Speaker 3: think a Draymond Green in the spring game at Michigan State.
- 40:37Speaker 1: What happened then?
- 40:38Speaker 3: He didn't get bullied? He got bullied, He was out wide.
- 40:41Speaker 3: He got hemmed up by someone. Waste.
- 40:42Speaker 1: You don't think NBA guys could play I do not.
- 40:44Speaker 6: Think what about the white guys in the NBA. If
- 40:48Speaker 6: you were to make a team of all white NBA
- 40:50Speaker 6: players playing football, yeah.
- 40:52Speaker 2: I don't think quality basket a quality football team.

- 43:20Speaker 3: No, dude, I gotta do you guys make your pancakes.
- 43:23Speaker 3: I'm panicking.
- 43:23Speaker 2: Butler Wait, wait yeah, Butler, what you know?
- 43:29Speaker 1: Butler? Wait?
- 43:31Speaker 6: What Butler?
- 43:32Speaker 2: Jimmy Yeah?
- 43:34Speaker 1: Seven seven everyone calls him Butler, Butler.
- 43:40Speaker 3: It's Chris bo. No, he's not.
- 43:43Speaker 1: It's like seven years ago.
- 43:44Speaker 3: Question, dumb question, Damn bro.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Singing some I don't know.
- 43:54Speaker 2: LaMelo ball Yeah, Bronnie Bronnie.
- 43:59Speaker 1: Yeah that cot one more one more. He's like, did
- 44:08Speaker 1: I heard say Lebron Anthony Davis.
- 44:10Speaker 5: Yeah, we go fuck yeah, hey Browny.
- 44:17Speaker 3: Sports podcast man, we do all.
- 44:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm gonna out of here.
- 44:22Speaker 3: Yeah, you can't wait to see him. Wait, so guy,
- 44:27Speaker 3: I'm gonna get the NBA this off season and trying
- 44:29Speaker 3: to figure it out. Okay.
- 44:30Speaker 5: Yeah, so so three years, one hundred and forty million,
- 44:33Speaker 5: are you guys gonna come back?
- 44:35Speaker 1: Mark?
- 44:36Speaker 2: Mark Titis is on the case right saying just one
- 44:38Speaker 2: hundred and forty million.
- 44:39Speaker 5: You just started saying it, and I was so drunk.
- 44:41Speaker 5: I was like, you will lie to me? What the fuck?
- 44:46Speaker 2: Hey, by the way, you see what I'm rocking. Yeah,
- 44:49Speaker 2: I stepped in cake and hey those are nice.
- 44:51Speaker 3: You actually got them for that?
- 44:52Speaker 1: Yeah, but there, that is awesome. I stepped in cake
- 44:55Speaker 1: and threw them out. So people were mad at me for.
- 44:57Speaker 2: I see I had the cake on the bottom. I
- 44:58Speaker 2: just I still took.
- 44:59Speaker 1: Him to him out.
- 45:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 45:01Speaker 1: It was good, had a really good time.
- 45:04Speaker 3: I was how was Will's heartfelt message?
- 45:06Speaker 5: It was good, except we were so drunk and we
- 45:08Speaker 5: had a random guy in the background.
- 45:11Speaker 1: It was I mean, we all knew it was going
- 45:12Speaker 1: to get to the heartfelt spot.
- 45:14Speaker 6: I gotta be honest, I don't remember the heartfelt conversation
- 45:16Speaker 6: at all.
- 45:17Speaker 1: Really, I'm not not a word.
- 45:19Speaker 6: I'm sure if it got played back from it and
- 45:21Speaker 6: be like, oh yeah, this sounds familiar.
- 45:22Speaker 3: But when I saw it on Twitter, will post it
- 45:24Speaker 3: and I was like, oh God, this is gonna be
- 45:26Speaker 3: tough to watch. I thought it was beautiful. Yeah it was.
- 45:28Speaker 5: It was just you know, we all knew it was
- 45:30Speaker 5: gonna go that way. He's like, you get drunk with
- 45:32Speaker 5: your boys to drink someone's vomit and then you say
- 45:34Speaker 5: you love bro.
- 45:35Speaker 2: I forgot that. We did the vomitry.
- 45:37Speaker 3: Did you drink any Yes.
- 45:39Speaker 2: This cat Deutsch he can guy that. Yeah, he can
- 45:42Speaker 2: eat a bunch of ice cream and then he throws
- 45:44Speaker 2: it up and he's like, I swear it tastes like
- 45:46Speaker 2: a milkshake.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:47Speaker 2: They had pass it around and he's doing everybody's doing
- 45:49Speaker 2: like a spoon tasting of this milk.
- 45:51Speaker 1: We all tried it. Yeah, he did you do it?
- 45:53Speaker 5: He told us like six hours before when we did
- 45:56Speaker 5: the regular react that day, and when he told us,
- 45:59Speaker 5: we're just like, well, it's gonna lead to me eating
- 46:01Speaker 5: someone's vomit later. Yeah, And that's how it did Yeah,
- 46:04Speaker 5: are we where are we at with beer Olympics? Are
- 46:08Speaker 5: we invited?
- 46:08Speaker 3: Are you guys going to commit?
- 46:10Speaker 1: Yeah? We committed?
- 46:15Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, we.
- 46:19Speaker 1: Never backed out.
- 46:20Speaker 3: There's there's countless clicks. I don't know, I'm not gonna
- 46:23Speaker 3: do it.
- 46:25Speaker 1: List and then we stayed. We we never said we're.
- 46:28Speaker 3: Out you guys are you guys were patting us on
- 46:30Speaker 3: the head.
- 46:30Speaker 1: We never said we were out here.
- 46:31Speaker 5: Yeah, did we complain about having to do it and
- 46:35Speaker 5: can yeah?
- 46:36Speaker 2: Be real shame. But I remember Big Cat texting me
- 46:38Speaker 2: and he was like, hey, no more bad vibes, no more,
- 46:41Speaker 2: no more bullshit, Like I'm in, We're in the foxhole.
- 46:44Speaker 2: And I remember being like, I'm really happy you're saying
- 46:46Speaker 2: this because when Dave pulled all that production, it's like
- 46:49Speaker 2: we were in hell. Yeah, and then the first movie,
- 46:55Speaker 2: we have to do something is a good move.
- 46:58Speaker 1: We had a lot of fun. If you're doing it again, I.
- 47:00Speaker 5: Think this is the last one, right, allegedly. I mean,
- 47:02Speaker 5: I can't drink beer anymore, Like I drink ten beers.
- 47:06Speaker 5: I puked, So I'm in.
- 47:07Speaker 1: But I'm pute.
- 47:09Speaker 3: I just make yourself puked though.
- 47:11Speaker 1: I know I just can't. I'm just old, are you
- 47:14Speaker 1: guys are used to always?
- 47:15Speaker 6: I mean, where's he going to be in Nashville.
- 47:18Speaker 3: It'll be in Nashville. I'm in my backyard.
- 47:20Speaker 1: I mean, can we not do the three beer chug
- 47:23Speaker 1: to start? No, that's hard for me.
- 47:24Speaker 3: Here's the thing, be qu Elson. Yeah, but I think
- 47:28Speaker 3: the three beer chug is so elite. I think it's
- 47:32Speaker 3: a it's a it's a great like, let's get going.
- 47:34Speaker 1: Yeah, you're right, we're getting to spread. Here's my you have.
- 47:38Speaker 6: You have offensive linemen out there, and they're able to
- 47:40Speaker 6: drink these beers.
- 47:42Speaker 2: Would you be Quintin Elson?
- 47:45Speaker 1: So many times you was just like, dude, I got it.
- 47:47Speaker 3: The most infuriated I was. And that whole thing was
- 47:51Speaker 3: the end of the night when Will was pissing me
- 47:52Speaker 3: off beyond belief because I just want to finish the
- 47:54Speaker 3: game because it's dark. The whole goal going to Beer
- 47:56Speaker 3: Olympics was, Hey, we got to finish before dusk. That
- 47:58Speaker 3: is like pretty much the goal. And I'm already mad
- 48:00Speaker 3: at Will because he's yelling at the other people, and
- 48:02Speaker 3: then out of.
- 48:03Speaker 1: Nowhere you come.
- 48:07Speaker 3: And you start whistling everything that I'm thinking, Dude, I'm
- 48:10Speaker 3: about to beat this guy was working for it.
- 48:13Speaker 2: I know he's helping us.
- 48:14Speaker 3: Stop.
- 48:14Speaker 5: You guys were doing a huddle and I whistled you
- 48:16Speaker 5: and gave you a technical and you're like, what's that for?
- 48:18Speaker 5: Is like I thought you guys were kids and Taylor.
- 48:21Speaker 5: Taylor looked at me and I was just like you
- 48:24Speaker 5: outright so mad? Yeah, Will thought it was on his side.
- 48:27Speaker 3: It was he's helping us, Taylor, he's helping us.
- 48:30Speaker 1: He's helping us.
- 48:31Speaker 3: Like bro, he's not down.
- 48:33Speaker 6: I want to do barstool Columbia, the Cocaine Olympics, the
- 48:37Speaker 6: Cigarette Olympics. Such a great idea would be incredible to
- 48:40Speaker 6: like trick shots, blowing rings with a big bong hit
- 48:43Speaker 6: of just cigarette smoke.
- 48:45Speaker 5: Can you just make a rule though, next year if
- 48:47Speaker 5: I puke, I can keep playing because like that's the
- 48:49Speaker 5: thing is like I'll puke, but it's just to get
- 48:51Speaker 5: more room, like I can keep drinking after.
- 48:53Speaker 2: It, like your stomach's I want to say something like
- 48:55Speaker 2: you know, Ike, and then I just I wanted to
- 48:57Speaker 2: keep drinking, and they're like, you can't get back in
- 48:59Speaker 2: the game. Puke was supposed to be okay, back to
- 49:02Speaker 2: two years ago. I want to say Hardy's wife puked
- 49:06Speaker 2: and people were up in arms about people puke and
- 49:08Speaker 2: they're like that shouldn't be allowed. One.
- 49:12Speaker 5: I mean at that point when I puked this time,
- 49:14Speaker 5: it was like twelve beers in an hour and a half.
- 49:16Speaker 1: It's like, I need some more room.
- 49:17Speaker 2: You know who I feel like it has to play?
- 49:18Speaker 2: You know how I feel like he has to play?
- 49:19Speaker 3: Who has to play? Max?
- 49:21Speaker 1: Yeah, he's our shirt. It's your sure, Yeah, that's our shirt.
- 49:26Speaker 3: If Sham defected to barstool in a month, what would
- 49:29Speaker 3: you do with shir Would you replace anything?
- 49:32Speaker 1: Whatever?
- 49:32Speaker 3: Replace on every every show, every single show.
- 49:37Speaker 6: Was so sick to him, Cut him loose, yeah whatever
- 49:40Speaker 6: you Yeah, you have our support.
- 49:43Speaker 3: You can't have him do that.
- 49:43Speaker 1: Whatever you need.
- 49:45Speaker 3: It's a bad idea. I've seen this guy.
- 49:47Speaker 1: No, he's sure free reign, you get anything he wants.
- 49:52Speaker 3: Dank Sure, that sounds kind of nice.
- 49:54Speaker 1: I'd probably leave to pretty good idea.
- 49:56Speaker 3: That idea. You'd come back to us in a month,
- 49:58Speaker 3: be like they gave me way.
- 49:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 49:59Speaker 6: One thing about good managers, you hire talented people and
- 50:01Speaker 6: you let them do their thing and you trust them.
- 50:03Speaker 1: That's what we would do. We don't put them in.
- 50:05Speaker 3: A have to.
- 50:07Speaker 1: You can't can't open.
- 50:10Speaker 3: The box a little bit, you can't put it all
- 50:11Speaker 3: the way.
- 50:11Speaker 1: No, I want them flying everywhere. Let them right.
- 50:15Speaker 5: Yeah, just write down the number and slide me number
- 50:19Speaker 5: and I'll let you know if we can do it.
- 50:24Speaker 5: The Olympics, Yeah, I think, are you in because I
- 50:28Speaker 5: because I heard it was the last one. I have
- 50:29Speaker 5: to be there for the last men. I mean I
- 50:31Speaker 5: wanted to be the last one because I want to
- 50:33Speaker 5: go and just be like, let's one rule.
- 50:35Speaker 3: Do this one rule. And this is me just looking
- 50:37Speaker 3: at no Vegas. No no Vegas for sure, but keep
- 50:40Speaker 3: it up in mind. We can't let it will be
- 50:43Speaker 3: doing part of my take after the Olympics.
- 50:45Speaker 1: Listen. Incredible for all of us because there was we.
- 50:49Speaker 3: Were upstairs and you're like, hey, will come and show
- 50:51Speaker 3: you I do it even in my junks. Your brothers
- 50:53Speaker 3: were I'm doing this.
- 50:56Speaker 1: That was a very regrettable episode of brothers don't do
- 51:00Speaker 1: it often.
- 51:01Speaker 3: That was very well.
- 51:05Speaker 6: Have you heard from JJ Reddick since that podcast?
- 51:07Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 51:08Speaker 5: What he said on the mat he did, we didn't
- 51:12Speaker 5: cut it. It actually might have been yes, And I
- 51:15Speaker 5: had to tell him. I was like, you actually know,
- 51:18Speaker 5: I'm sorry, we'll call No, you haven't talked to me.
- 51:21Speaker 5: I was like, I'm sorry, we'll called you. We're cutting this,
- 51:23Speaker 5: and then in his head he's like, well I know
- 51:25Speaker 5: these guys, they don't cut anything. It's like no, no,
- 51:28Speaker 5: I like, I'm actually sorry. And so we had like
- 51:30Speaker 5: a back and forth. It was just like will what
- 51:32Speaker 5: are you doing? Why are you know?
- 51:40Speaker 1: Podcast?
- 51:41Speaker 2: Whatever he needs he knows I got him sure.
- 51:43Speaker 1: Let me see the number. We'll get a number.
- 51:45Speaker 6: We'll get mad at us for just we were talking
- 51:47Speaker 6: about the Lakers. He's like selling you guys, don't look
- 51:49Speaker 6: JJ ready to fight us. It's a fox old guy.
- 51:54Speaker 1: Let's see what.
- 51:57Speaker 6: Because he does organic, because he's talented, that's it. That's
- 52:02Speaker 6: it doesn't matter.
- 52:04Speaker 1: That's no problem.
- 52:06Speaker 3: It doesn't matter.
- 52:06Speaker 5: Approve no, no, no, no, double it. That's betweens. I thought
- 52:11Speaker 5: it would be double. I was expecting double. That bad
- 52:14Speaker 5: negotiating on his app. This is we got sure them.
- 52:16Speaker 1: On a cheap deal.
- 52:17Speaker 3: It's locked.
- 52:20Speaker 1: If he wants to that number is to move.
- 52:23Speaker 3: Damn. You don't want get lost it like that Younglis Chicago.
- 52:27Speaker 1: You gonna hit on your on every single day.
- 52:31Speaker 5: A lot of stuff, dude. He asked for fifty K.
- 52:35Speaker 5: You guys pay him thirty? How many him thirty?
- 52:40Speaker 3: How many?
- 52:41Speaker 1: Is gonna have a great article about this, It's gonna.
- 52:44Speaker 2: Be how many different guys have you had work on
- 52:46Speaker 2: part of my take, like behind the scenes or producer
- 52:48Speaker 2: or whatever.
- 52:48Speaker 6: It is really not that many when you when you
- 52:51Speaker 6: think about all the years interns counting to Yeah, Darren
- 52:54Speaker 6: Ravel No, Dana was an intern, uh Ken jack mm hmm.
- 53:01Speaker 1: Hank. So the first like two years, Hank had to
- 53:03Speaker 1: do everything, which was crazy. So it was like the
- 53:06Speaker 1: beginning of part of my take.
- 53:07Speaker 5: We we got very big, and we all moved to
- 53:10Speaker 5: New York and it was like kind of a everyone
- 53:13Speaker 5: was trying to find their spot in barstool and we
- 53:16Speaker 5: kept on being like, I think this is working.
- 53:18Speaker 1: I think this is pretty big.
- 53:19Speaker 5: We need some more help, And we didn't get more
- 53:21Speaker 5: help for a while, and then finally we got Liam
- 53:25Speaker 5: Bubba and then Max and then now we have Memes, Pug,
- 53:35Speaker 5: Shane Jackson, I think seven of us now, so it's
- 53:38Speaker 5: pretty like grew.
- 53:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not like all the jps you guys got.
- 53:42Speaker 2: How How fast did you guys start blowing up for
- 53:47Speaker 2: when was your very first episode was that in the
- 53:49Speaker 2: in the van.
- 53:50Speaker 6: No, it was in my in my living room in Austin.
- 53:53Speaker 1: I would say it was probably like two much.
- 53:57Speaker 5: It was actually the very biggest for the moment was
- 54:00Speaker 5: we had a guy named Kyle wilcher On who played
- 54:04Speaker 5: a Kentucky then transferred to Gonzaga, and Gonzaga I think
- 54:07Speaker 5: was maybe the two seed that year in the tournament
- 54:10Speaker 5: good basketball player. He came on and he told us
- 54:13Speaker 5: that Adam Morrison had a apocalypse bunker, and that got
- 54:17Speaker 5: picked up by everyone and it kind of like blew
- 54:19Speaker 5: us up. And then Adam Morrison was like, no, I
- 54:22Speaker 5: don't like people think I'm crazy. And then we had
- 54:24Speaker 5: Adam Morrison on. He became a friend, which was pretty cool.
- 54:27Speaker 5: So that was like the first big pop. And then
- 54:29Speaker 5: it was Joe Buck and SVP. Later that summer Blake
- 54:33Speaker 5: Griffin Yeah we love our Blakes. Yeah, Mortals like so
- 54:38Speaker 5: it was probably like six months that it was like,
- 54:40Speaker 5: oh shit. And then there was also this weird thing where, uh,
- 54:45Speaker 5: the old the way they used to do the old podcast.
- 54:47Speaker 5: It was like was it through iHeart yeah something it
- 54:49Speaker 5: was it was somewhere podcast won. It was something where
- 54:53Speaker 5: the numbers were not real, like they were just inflated.
- 54:56Speaker 1: So I remember I think our Jim Harbaught episode, they.
- 54:59Speaker 5: Were like like four million people listened to it like
- 55:02Speaker 5: that's not possible.
- 55:05Speaker 1: There's just no way that happened.
- 55:07Speaker 5: And then they like adjusted it and it was like actually
- 55:09Speaker 5: it was like you know, seven hundred thousands, Like okay,
- 55:12Speaker 5: that's a realistic number.
- 55:13Speaker 1: That's so pretty good. Yeah, yeah, I remember.
- 55:14Speaker 2: Was it just audio?
- 55:16Speaker 5: H Yeah, it was. We don't we didn't do YouTube
- 55:18Speaker 5: for because we only had Hank.
- 55:21Speaker 6: No, we had we had a video for Harball, right, yeah,
- 55:24Speaker 6: for some of the for some of the special ones.
- 55:25Speaker 5: Yeah, a trip, and we do like clips and stuff,
- 55:27Speaker 5: but yeah, Hank, because it was just Hank, we didn't
- 55:29Speaker 5: do YouTube.
- 55:30Speaker 6: The only video clips that we'd ever have would be
- 55:32Speaker 6: like occasionally somebody was a kinjack that would make the
- 55:35Speaker 6: videos that went along with it. Yeah, So it was
- 55:37Speaker 6: like not even stick figure animation. It was just like
- 55:40Speaker 6: here's a picture of Big Cat as he's talking, his
- 55:42Speaker 6: picture of me. Here's a picture of whatever it is
- 55:44Speaker 6: that we're talking about, like Chris Jones with his stick
- 55:46Speaker 6: popping out, and we make a video that way. But yeah,
- 55:49Speaker 6: it was not like a video podcast at all at
- 55:51Speaker 6: the start. I remember when when I first moved to
- 55:53Speaker 6: New York, because I moved there from Austin, Texas, and
- 55:56Speaker 6: like Barstool is now, it's massive in Austin, it wasn't
- 55:59Speaker 6: that big from what I saw at the time back
- 56:01Speaker 6: in like twenty fifteen, twenty sixteen. But when I moved
- 56:06Speaker 6: to New York, I went out for wings at this
- 56:09Speaker 6: place called Woji's, which is my favorite wing place in
- 56:11Speaker 6: New York. And I go there like the first week
- 56:14Speaker 6: I'm in town, and the server comes up to me
- 56:17Speaker 6: and he's wearing a shirt that says gas and beers
- 56:20Speaker 6: and chuck and nuts, and that's what Ryan Whitney had
- 56:23Speaker 6: told us on the pod like three weeks ago. Were like,
- 56:25Speaker 6: that's a great saying, let's make T shirts out of it.
- 56:27Speaker 6: I was like, holy fuck, this guy has like our
- 56:29Speaker 6: obscure T shirt. He's like the first waiter that I
- 56:32Speaker 6: see in New York. And little did I know that
- 56:34Speaker 6: that was going to be, like, you know, a very
- 56:36Speaker 6: common thing. But when I saw it, I was like,
- 56:38Speaker 6: this is kind of crazy.
- 56:39Speaker 1: This guy.
- 56:40Speaker 6: This guy knows about the spit in Situate, Massachusetts.
- 56:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 56:43Speaker 5: Yeah, So that was, Yeah, those little moments where it's like,
- 56:46Speaker 5: oh shit, starting to get recognized.
- 56:48Speaker 2: Now when you guys are blowing up kind of like grassroots.
- 56:52Speaker 2: Like was it like social media like Twitter and stuff
- 56:56Speaker 2: where you guys are getting everything out there? Is it
- 56:57Speaker 2: like redded Are these back channels?
- 56:59Speaker 5: No, it was mostly just social media and like word
- 57:01Speaker 5: of mouth. And I think we were just we were
- 57:03Speaker 5: very lucky that we came around in a time twenty
- 57:06Speaker 5: sixteen where there weren't a ton of podcasts and we
- 57:09Speaker 5: were very unique in the fact that we were two
- 57:12Speaker 5: dudes just having fun with sports and do it. Like
- 57:15Speaker 5: Another one that was I feel like is like a
- 57:17Speaker 5: seminal moment is I don't know if you guys, you
- 57:19Speaker 5: guys probably don't know anything about to say. But this
- 57:22Speaker 5: guy named foul Ball Guy catches basically a million foul balls.
- 57:26Speaker 1: Like he's the best to ever do it, literally to
- 57:28Speaker 1: ever do it.
- 57:30Speaker 6: He does clinics on how to catch it.
- 57:32Speaker 1: He's the best. He'll go to a game and he'll
- 57:34Speaker 1: get like five foul balls.
- 57:36Speaker 3: Mentally, he just finds the right seat.
- 57:37Speaker 1: He knows where he's sitting.
- 57:38Speaker 5: He became home run Guy because he started catching home
- 57:40Speaker 5: runs too Zach Campbell. So there was a over the summer,
- 57:45Speaker 5: there was a baseball game in an Army base MLB game,
- 57:49Speaker 5: and it was tickets were only for like veterans and
- 57:53Speaker 5: active service members, and he somehow got in. And then
- 57:59Speaker 5: it became this huge, huge controversy where the other guy
- 58:01Speaker 5: we had in our back pocket, Marlins Man, who would
- 58:04Speaker 5: just go to games and just be seen sitting in
- 58:06Speaker 5: the front row. He'd go to like a World Series
- 58:08Speaker 5: game and he would just be sitting in the front
- 58:10Speaker 5: row with his Marlin shirt on.
- 58:12Speaker 4: Uh.
- 58:12Speaker 5: So they had a beef and then we had them
- 58:14Speaker 5: both on to squash the beef. And it's really stupid
- 58:17Speaker 5: saying it out loud, but like, those are the moments
- 58:19Speaker 5: that I think helped those growths. People are like, what
- 58:22Speaker 5: is this show? Like, what the They were really.
- 58:25Speaker 1: Mad at each other. They were so many Marlin, what
- 58:27Speaker 1: was the beast? Marlin's man.
- 58:29Speaker 5: So, Marlin's man, he never makes it about himself. He
- 58:31Speaker 5: just likes to go to games, sit front row beyond
- 58:33Speaker 5: TV believers.
- 58:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 58:36Speaker 5: So, and he was mad because the game at the
- 58:41Speaker 5: base would have been prime Marlin's Man sitting on TV.
- 58:44Speaker 5: But he was like, I'm respecting the troops. I'm not
- 58:45Speaker 5: going to try to get a ticket. A foul ball
- 58:47Speaker 5: guy did get atriot. So he was just like this bullshit,
- 58:50Speaker 5: I should have been there again, not making about himself,
- 58:53Speaker 5: just sitting on.
- 58:53Speaker 3: So he was met that guy was there and he
- 58:55Speaker 3: wasn't there.
- 58:56Speaker 6: I think that he stood for integrity. He was just
- 59:00Speaker 6: upset that foul ball guy was there.
- 59:02Speaker 3: So when it was all said and done, where do
- 59:04Speaker 3: you guys stand on a foul ball guy?
- 59:05Speaker 1: In Marlon Mann?
- 59:06Speaker 5: I love the foul ball Guy is a controversial figure,
- 59:08Speaker 5: but I think it's one of those things you gotta respect.
- 59:10Speaker 1: Great.
- 59:11Speaker 5: Yeah, Like he's the best. He's the best to do it.
- 59:14Speaker 5: He's the best it's ever been. People get mad at
- 59:16Speaker 5: the best. That's just the crossy bears.
- 59:19Speaker 3: Now, if you're taking Marlon Man and foul ball guy,
- 59:22Speaker 3: you put him in a dark room.
- 59:22Speaker 1: Who's coming out Marlins Man? I think guys got it.
- 59:26Speaker 6: He's like a little just if Marlin's Man brings his cats.
- 59:29Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going he's got cats.
- 59:31Speaker 6: Oh he's got eight giant cats.
- 59:33Speaker 1: Yeah, coon cat.
- 59:33Speaker 6: I'm talking about Like these cats weigh twenty five thirty
- 59:36Speaker 6: pounds each.
- 59:37Speaker 5: And Marlins is a survivor. Yes, marlins Man almost died
- 59:40Speaker 5: in a plane crash. Marlin's man almost got aboarded.
- 59:44Speaker 3: Like at birth.
- 59:44Speaker 5: Yeah, he told us all this. Yeah yeah, so he's
- 59:47Speaker 5: a survivor. He's a survivor. But yeah, twenty sixteen to sell.
- 59:52Speaker 1: Merch with the barstool logo on it, that was him.
- 59:56Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, it's huge and that really turned the
- 59:59Speaker 3: company around.
- 1:00:00Speaker 6: Yeah, a lot of this company this is this is
- 1:00:03Speaker 6: the barstool signed. Yeah, he gave me like that. I mean, no,
- 1:00:07Speaker 6: you can't do it.
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: It's only well I'm still here right the money.
- 1:00:12Speaker 6: Yeah, you're going stool down, stool it's always this is
- 1:00:16Speaker 6: stool down.
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: This right now.
- 1:00:19Speaker 6: Yeah, and also be Olympics.
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: Look at this bang crowd.
- 1:00:24Speaker 5: He just tracks the balls better than anyone. And people
- 1:00:26Speaker 5: claim he steals it from kids. He never steals it
- 1:00:28Speaker 5: from kids. He wears like he does all the tricks.
- 1:00:31Speaker 5: He'll go he'll go to like batting practice and he'll
- 1:00:34Speaker 5: have both jerseys, so he'll switch the jerseys and be like, oh,
- 1:00:37Speaker 5: can you give me, you know, like Mike Trout and
- 1:00:39Speaker 5: his Angels jersey, Like Mike Trout, can I get one?
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: And then he'll switch it and be like a Yankees jersey.
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: He's like Aaron Judge. Can I have one look at him?
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: This respect? Great? Wait? Is that a kid that he's mossing? Yeah,
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: but he never took it from kids. Gotta kids got
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: to hit the weight room, kids got to learn what
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: are you gonna do? Look at this right over the kids?
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: You know, the kids gared of it? Bang here a kid?
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: So what are you guys doing before? Pardon my take?
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: I like, how did you guys come across each other?
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: Because weren't you you were? Were you right for Pro
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: Football Talk?
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: No?
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: No, I was.
- 1:01:15Speaker 6: I was writing for Kissing Susie Colber and s B
- 1:01:19Speaker 6: Nation and they were just sports blogs.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: Okay, so yeah, I was.
- 1:01:23Speaker 6: I was blogging for them. I talked about a little
- 1:01:26Speaker 6: bit with with Rousillo. But I was a used dog
- 1:01:28Speaker 6: salesman in Austin and then I upgraded to selling software
- 1:01:32Speaker 6: and then I just hated my job, and.
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: So I started this Twitter account like as a.
- 1:01:36Speaker 6: Diverse to do something creative, make myself laugh. And then
- 1:01:39Speaker 6: eventually I was like, I hate this job. It crushes
- 1:01:42Speaker 6: me every day. I just want to try to write.
- 1:01:44Speaker 6: And so then I was blogging at the time, so
- 1:01:47Speaker 6: like full time, probably like seven eight blogs a week,
- 1:01:51Speaker 6: which forgot like big cat, that's that's rookie numbers because.
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: We had a lot. Yeah, I was just blogging.
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: So you were blogging for barstoo for PFT was yeah.
- 1:02:00Speaker 5: So I was at Barcel from twenty twelve and we
- 1:02:03Speaker 5: had to do like it was a blog.
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: It was a blog every.
- 1:02:07Speaker 5: Forty minutes starting at nine am until five and then
- 1:02:11Speaker 5: after our blog. So I'd write like ten blogs a
- 1:02:13Speaker 5: day and then we I followed PFT, he followed me.
- 1:02:17Speaker 5: I was like, this guy's hilarious.
- 1:02:19Speaker 2: You just came across him on the internet.
- 1:02:20Speaker 5: Well, we started getting people started saying that we were
- 1:02:24Speaker 5: like copying each other. They'd be like, oh, that's a
- 1:02:26Speaker 5: joke he would have made. That's joke he would have made.
- 1:02:28Speaker 5: And then he was in Chicago for a wedding and
- 1:02:30Speaker 5: I was like, let's grab a beer and uh we
- 1:02:34Speaker 5: we hit it off hanging out, and then we were
- 1:02:37Speaker 5: at a point at Barcel where it was like there
- 1:02:39Speaker 5: was like eight of us and it was still we
- 1:02:41Speaker 5: were so small. So I just told like, I remember
- 1:02:44Speaker 5: we had the beer, and I was just like, if
- 1:02:46Speaker 5: we ever get to a point where like we're hiring, like, you're.
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: The first person I would want us to hire.
- 1:02:51Speaker 5: And then when we got bought by Churnin and did
- 1:02:54Speaker 5: the whole move to New York, I told David.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: I was like, we gotta hire this guy.
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: Is Turnin era or is this where big vision? They're like, Hey,
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: we're gonna start getting in the podcast world.
- 1:03:02Speaker 5: They yeah, podcasting, So KFC radio. Kevin started like podcasting
- 1:03:07Speaker 5: at Barstool, which he should get a ton of credit
- 1:03:10Speaker 5: for because at the time Dave was like, this is
- 1:03:12Speaker 5: a dumb idea. So I did KFC Radio with Feidelberg
- 1:03:16Speaker 5: and Kevin for a few years. So yeah, Kevin, Kevin
- 1:03:19Speaker 5: had the vision to do it early on. And then yeah,
- 1:03:23Speaker 5: when when we got bought and we all moved to
- 1:03:26Speaker 5: New York, I was like, we got to hire a
- 1:03:27Speaker 5: PFT hired him, hired Caleb, hired a few different people,
- 1:03:32Speaker 5: and then we started like the minute I think it
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: was like maybe one month into him getting hired, we
- 1:03:36Speaker 5: started part of my take and then the rest is
- 1:03:38Speaker 5: kind of history.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: Now on KFC Radio, are you guys, is that like
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: sports centric or are they No, it was more lifestyle
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: and then you were like, hey.
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: It was more Yeah, it was more like we would
- 1:03:48Speaker 5: do dumb hypothetical shoot the ship and then yeah, so
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: then and then we started Barstool. When we got bought
- 1:03:55Speaker 5: and all moved to New York, we started adding podcasts
- 1:03:58Speaker 5: and yeah, it became kind of the I don't want
- 1:04:01Speaker 5: to say we're a podcast company, but obviously that's a
- 1:04:04Speaker 5: big part of it.
- 1:04:05Speaker 6: So I went back because I haven't looked at these
- 1:04:07Speaker 6: probably since they were sent. But the first DMS between
- 1:04:10Speaker 6: myself and Big Cat twenty fourteen, April seventeenth, I guess
- 1:04:17Speaker 6: the site that I was working for, it looks like
- 1:04:18Speaker 6: they got bought by another site. So Big Cat thought
- 1:04:21Speaker 6: I was moving to New York and I was like, no,
- 1:04:24Speaker 6: I'm in Austin. And then he says, do you write
- 1:04:27Speaker 6: chess as freelance? Do you have a regular job outside
- 1:04:29Speaker 6: of writing? I was trying to hire them right away.
- 1:04:30Speaker 6: I say, I'm freelance. I used to have an outside job,
- 1:04:33Speaker 6: trying to make this my career. Big Cat says, that's awesome.
- 1:04:35Speaker 6: Start your own site or find a full time gig somewhere.
- 1:04:38Speaker 6: I said, I've got an ebook coming out in a
- 1:04:40Speaker 6: couple of weeks. If that does well, there are publishers
- 1:04:43Speaker 6: who are interested, but right now just scraping by. That
- 1:04:45Speaker 6: was goodel Vers Obama the battle for the future of
- 1:04:47Speaker 6: the NFL.
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: Are you a Southern guy? Originally?
- 1:04:52Speaker 6: Barstool South has always been a priority. Wouldn't have to
- 1:04:55Speaker 6: hire AFT?
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: And then I was.
- 1:05:00Speaker 6: And he says, well, if you're ever interested in barsols,
- 1:05:02Speaker 6: shoot me an email. Gives me the email. We're always
- 1:05:04Speaker 6: looking for writers. Have goals on opening a Southern site.
- 1:05:07Speaker 6: And he says, and even if not, email me. I
- 1:05:11Speaker 6: have a guy who would be funny if you try
- 1:05:12Speaker 6: to start your own website. And then Big Cat sent
- 1:05:18Speaker 6: me a picture of him meeting Adam Schefter.
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: Oh what was that?
- 1:05:24Speaker 6: Oh?
- 1:05:24Speaker 5: I think that was outside of the Super Bowl. I
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: like tracked him down and maybe I don't even know
- 1:05:29Speaker 5: where it was.
- 1:05:30Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, awesome. Let's meet at the Theory Bar on
- 1:05:34Speaker 6: stateon Hubbard. It's a block from your hotel one thirty.
- 1:05:37Speaker 6: I say, sounds good. I'll be the white guy drinking
- 1:05:39Speaker 6: a beer found me showing and that was it.
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: Yeah, that was it. That was it.
- 1:05:45Speaker 5: And then the first time that he came and hung
- 1:05:47Speaker 5: out with us was twenty fifteen, is actually my thirtieth birthday.
- 1:05:50Speaker 5: His the day after and we went out and I
- 1:05:53Speaker 5: introduced him to Dave and I was like, Dave is
- 1:05:55Speaker 5: PFT super talented, Like you know, like how you miss
- 1:05:59Speaker 5: I was like to Dave, I was like, you know
- 1:06:01Speaker 5: how you misspell stuff and like fucked things up like
- 1:06:03Speaker 5: PFD does that, but he's doing it on purpose.
- 1:06:07Speaker 6: As Wow, yeah, I think that's San Francisco way back
- 1:06:10Speaker 6: in the day.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:06:11Speaker 5: So yeah, and then yeah, and then and then Dave
- 1:06:13Speaker 5: was like, yeah, let's do it. And then we hired
- 1:06:15Speaker 5: a bunch of people and it was kind of a
- 1:06:17Speaker 5: rocket ship and then we hired.
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: You guys, when you guys, when you get hired there
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: and you say one month, how how long did it
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: take you guys? It took you guys one month, but
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: like how quickly were you like we got to do
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: a podcast?
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: Oh?
- 1:06:26Speaker 6: No?
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: I when we hired when when I told Dave we
- 1:06:28Speaker 5: got to hire a PFD, I was like, we're.
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: Doing doing a podcast?
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: Yeah, we're nice.
- 1:06:32Speaker 5: And the and actually an interesting part of this whole
- 1:06:34Speaker 5: story is Hank was like very close to putting barstool
- 1:06:39Speaker 5: at the time because so he went so Hank didn't.
- 1:06:43Speaker 5: He went to college for a year and then started
- 1:06:45Speaker 5: at Barsol when he's nineteen. I've known Hanks, he's nineteen
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: years old. He uh we did this thing called the
- 1:06:51Speaker 5: Dixie Tour where he Caleb uh bus boy Benny and
- 1:06:56Speaker 5: they went down to the South. They went like campus
- 1:06:58Speaker 5: to campus, big football games whatever. So Hank like spent
- 1:07:02Speaker 5: three months, four months just getting fucked up being on
- 1:07:05Speaker 5: the road, being like this is what real college looks like.
- 1:07:09Speaker 5: And after the Dixie Tour he kind of like sat
- 1:07:12Speaker 5: me down. He's like, I'm thinking about maybe like going
- 1:07:13Speaker 5: back to college or doing something like kind of having
- 1:07:15Speaker 5: almost like a little mini life crisis. And I was like, dude,
- 1:07:19Speaker 5: just stick with me for like another year. We're about
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: to get bought by Churnin. We're about to hire this
- 1:07:26Speaker 5: guy PFT. I want you to produce the podcast. And
- 1:07:30Speaker 5: that was the best decision he ever made. But yeah,
- 1:07:32Speaker 5: he was very close. He was like we had a
- 1:07:34Speaker 5: heart to heart where he was like, I'm thinking about
- 1:07:36Speaker 5: leaving barstool and like doing something else. I don't know
- 1:07:38Speaker 5: if I could do this, And yeah, so that was
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: a good safe What was he thinking, like film school?
- 1:07:42Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:07:43Speaker 5: I think he was thinking film school and he just
- 1:07:45Speaker 5: kind of was like not lost, but just a little.
- 1:07:48Speaker 5: It also was tough because he was in that Milton
- 1:07:50Speaker 5: office and that wasn't they say Milton tough for a reason.
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: It was like you're thrown into the ringer where it's
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: just like, you know, it's a pressure cooker.
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: Is the Milton office that it was a dentist office
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: that Gus posted something last week. I want to say
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: it was maybe when Smokes was talking about work hours. Yeah,
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: but there was like a clip from like way back
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: in the day whitting the guy was like he was
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: late a couple of days in at the door, fights
- 1:08:16Speaker 2: walks in the door and I thought it was so funny. Yeah,
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: but that's the Milton office. That's the Milton office. So yeah,
- 1:08:21Speaker 2: that was like Gas, Dave, hank Lewis, and there was
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: other people like you know, Coley was there for a
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: little bit weird haircut, Seth was there, Pirate Simon. So yeah,
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: it was kind of like a whole mishmash and that
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: was that was the first barstool office that wasn't Dave's
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: just apartment. And before before part my take, what was
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: the biggest thing going with barstools then?
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: Was it just a blog?
- 1:08:47Speaker 5: It was blog it was run down, run down, run
- 1:08:50Speaker 5: so rundown meet Kevin and Dave. Yeah, I guess that
- 1:08:56Speaker 5: ass was pretty big. That ass was pretty big. We
- 1:08:58Speaker 5: should bring that back we shut But yeah, it was
- 1:09:01Speaker 5: the rundown was like the big thing that was in
- 1:09:03Speaker 5: KFC radio.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: But that those are the big things.
- 1:09:05Speaker 5: That were kind of like our first foray into video
- 1:09:08Speaker 5: and audio and all that stuff.
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: Was it awkward when part of my take transcended as
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: fast as as you guys did, like more from I
- 1:09:16Speaker 2: guess your position. Yeah, coming into a new gig and
- 1:09:18Speaker 2: probably learning about it on the fly.
- 1:09:20Speaker 6: I'm still learning about like the past relationships that I
- 1:09:26Speaker 6: had no idea about. Like occasionally Hank Will mentioned something
- 1:09:29Speaker 6: was like oh I didn't know that about pirates sound.
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: Yeah, it was awkward. I'll say it. It was awkward.
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: It was.
- 1:09:35Speaker 5: It was awkward in the fact that when we got
- 1:09:37Speaker 5: to New York, everyone was kind of looking for their thing,
- 1:09:41Speaker 5: and we had our thing very quickly. So it was
- 1:09:44Speaker 5: like it was before Dave's like pizza reviews like blew up,
- 1:09:47Speaker 5: you know what I mean. So it was it was
- 1:09:49Speaker 5: just this weird time where I think everyone was really
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: hungry and and and like wanting to work really hard
- 1:09:55Speaker 5: and try to find something that worked, and we just
- 1:09:58Speaker 5: were lucky enough to find the thing that worked before
- 1:10:01Speaker 5: everyone else. So I think there was a little tension there.
- 1:10:03Speaker 5: But then as time went like everyone kind of found
- 1:10:06Speaker 5: their lane and it dissipated, so like naturally dissipated. But
- 1:10:09Speaker 5: I mean you can understand, like if everyone's going to
- 1:10:12Speaker 5: one place, everyone's moving their family and doing everything, and
- 1:10:17Speaker 5: one a couple guys are like hit the ground running
- 1:10:21Speaker 5: and just have this like shooting star success, it's gonna
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: cause a little tension.
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: Yeah, But I mean.
- 1:10:27Speaker 5: The crazy thing about Barstool, I think it's like attestament
- 1:10:30Speaker 5: to it is like Dave is still doing it. I'm
- 1:10:32Speaker 5: still here, Kevin's still here, like Fidelberg, Hank, like Gaz,
- 1:10:36Speaker 5: all these guys that were original guys.
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: There's a loyalty to Barstool that I.
- 1:10:41Speaker 5: Don't think you find it many other companies, and I
- 1:10:45Speaker 5: think it's pretty special.
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: Yeah, not to bring up the L word for you guys.
- 1:10:48Speaker 5: Sorry, I told you guys, though I had a hard
- 1:10:53Speaker 5: tart with both of you. I told you guys straight
- 1:10:55Speaker 5: up when you when you were talking about leaving, like
- 1:10:59Speaker 5: I can't I can't sit here and be like, man,
- 1:11:02Speaker 5: how could you guys do this? Because I came into
- 1:11:05Speaker 5: barstool and PFT as well, Because PFT even though I
- 1:11:08Speaker 5: was at Barcel for four years before and PFT is
- 1:11:10Speaker 5: still like play ten.
- 1:11:12Speaker 6: I think maybe we had shirts. Yeah I was like twelve,
- 1:11:15Speaker 6: maybe yeah, right, So PFT even though it's like I
- 1:11:18Speaker 6: still don't consider myself like I'm not an OG. Right,
- 1:11:21Speaker 6: so much stuff happened, but.
- 1:11:23Speaker 5: He's as close to an og as you get because
- 1:11:24Speaker 5: it's been you know, I was at Parcel four years
- 1:11:27Speaker 5: for PFT game, but PFT has been at Parcel for
- 1:11:29Speaker 5: nine years, you know what I mean. So but I
- 1:11:32Speaker 5: told you guys, like you can't compare it because I
- 1:11:36Speaker 5: this is my life's work. This is like my family,
- 1:11:39Speaker 5: This is my you know, all these people that I've
- 1:11:42Speaker 5: been working with and like they don't depend on me,
- 1:11:45Speaker 5: but like part of part of it all working is
- 1:11:48Speaker 5: is me staying here and Dave's staying here in PFT
- 1:11:50Speaker 5: staying here. We're in a different circumstance than you guys,
- 1:11:53Speaker 5: you know what I mean. Like if I were hired
- 1:11:55Speaker 5: at Barcel in twenty twenty and had this success, I
- 1:11:57Speaker 5: probably would have left too, you know what I mean,
- 1:11:59Speaker 5: I probably would have got and offered something and been like,
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: I don't have the same years of of everything built up.
- 1:12:05Speaker 5: So but I I mean, I'll never I mean I'll
- 1:12:08Speaker 5: never have another boss. Besides Dave, my agent, hates when
- 1:12:11Speaker 5: I say that, but I say it, and I don't
- 1:12:13Speaker 5: give a fuck because it's just like.
- 1:12:14Speaker 2: Do you ever Obviously this is an awkward question. I'm
- 1:12:16Speaker 2: putting you in a tough spot, but do you guys
- 1:12:17Speaker 2: ever think like, hey, pardon my take, was its own thing?
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: Not in a way of like you wish it did happen,
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: But I'm sure there there had to have been times
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: along the way, especially because when the ESPN thing pretty
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: sensitive when it started, and you guys were bummed, but
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: ultimately it's like you're going with the brain, You're going
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: with the team.
- 1:12:32Speaker 6: And we were also like super naive at the time,
- 1:12:35Speaker 6: so we we thought this was gonna be cool. Hey,
- 1:12:37Speaker 6: we're gonna be on TV. That's awesome TV. At the time,
- 1:12:40Speaker 6: like it was still the big thing, right, and we
- 1:12:44Speaker 6: had a couple of people tell us, like Dave was
- 1:12:46Speaker 6: was insistent that they were trying to hire us. Yeah,
- 1:12:48Speaker 6: I me and Big Kel were like, I don't think so.
- 1:12:49Speaker 6: I think they just want to I just want to
- 1:12:51Speaker 6: do a show with us, which is cool. They were
- 1:12:53Speaker 6: definitely and you're thinking there were a million percent Like
- 1:12:57Speaker 6: John Skipper brought us into his office and sat us down.
- 1:12:59Speaker 6: It was like feeling this out, figure out, like am
- 1:13:02Speaker 6: I gonna make these guys an offer or what like
- 1:13:04Speaker 6: it was. It was done like kind of behind the back,
- 1:13:07Speaker 6: and we were like, why is everything so secret?
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: We were so dumb.
- 1:13:10Speaker 5: We were like, we're so behind Dave's back kind of
- 1:13:12Speaker 5: well yeah, I mean he asked us personally to go
- 1:13:15Speaker 5: there and it wasn't like a meeting set up through
- 1:13:17Speaker 5: Eric or Dave, and we were just like, oh okay,
- 1:13:19Speaker 5: like we the all the other meetings were done like Erica,
- 1:13:25Speaker 5: and this was done outside of that. And I think
- 1:13:27Speaker 5: back to it and it's like we were so naive,
- 1:13:30Speaker 5: we were so stupid. We we I learned so much
- 1:13:33Speaker 5: from that experience, the biggest one being like if a
- 1:13:36Speaker 5: deal takes eight months nine months to actually happen, they
- 1:13:40Speaker 5: you probably shouldn't do the deal, because it was like
- 1:13:43Speaker 5: that was that was how long it took to get
- 1:13:45Speaker 5: from like ESPN being like, oh we want to do
- 1:13:46Speaker 5: a TV show to like getting through all the hoops
- 1:13:50Speaker 5: and clearing everything. It's like, if you have to clear everything,
- 1:13:53Speaker 5: you probably aren't going to have our back when the
- 1:13:55Speaker 5: ship hits the fan. And it turned out to be
- 1:13:57Speaker 5: very true, but yeah, we were. We were like, no,
- 1:14:00Speaker 5: ESPN doesn't want to hire us, that's crazy. We're just
- 1:14:01Speaker 5: gonna do this show and it's gonna be awesome and
- 1:14:03Speaker 5: it's gonna make Barstool bigger.
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: Right, way wrong, very wrong about that.
- 1:14:07Speaker 5: And then and they didn't have our back at all,
- 1:14:09Speaker 5: And that was the biggest lesson is like Barstool has
- 1:14:11Speaker 5: our back, Our fans have our back. We don't need ESPN,
- 1:14:14Speaker 5: we don't need a TV show, we don't need all
- 1:14:15Speaker 5: this stuff. Our fans are here, They're gonna stick with
- 1:14:18Speaker 5: us no matter what. So why like I actually when
- 1:14:21Speaker 5: we and I know it sounds cliche and I think
- 1:14:23Speaker 5: both PF and I have said this many times, but
- 1:14:25Speaker 5: like going through the Barstool Van Talk thing was the
- 1:14:28Speaker 5: best thing for us because once it the dust settled,
- 1:14:31Speaker 5: we realized, like we have the number one sports podcast.
- 1:14:35Speaker 5: We don't need anything else. We have our fans right here.
- 1:14:37Speaker 5: We don't need to go anywhere else. We have it
- 1:14:39Speaker 5: to them, We give it to them. We don't have
- 1:14:41Speaker 5: anyone telling us what to do. Why would we ever
- 1:14:43Speaker 5: mess that up? So every offer since then has been no, thanks.
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: Yeah. If that never happens, you guys might be sitting
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: here today being like what if Yeah, what if ESPN
- 1:14:52Speaker 3: does come or right or whatever?
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: And we've had times like I mean, pft's contract's been up.
- 1:14:57Speaker 5: I've never become a free agent because I I just haven't.
- 1:15:01Speaker 5: But like there's and we're very open with each other
- 1:15:04Speaker 5: about it, Like he's when his contract's been up. He's
- 1:15:06Speaker 5: just like, I'm gonna at least take some calls like
- 1:15:08Speaker 5: I have to. And it's like, yeah, you have.
- 1:15:10Speaker 6: To take You take the meetings, and then they throw
- 1:15:13Speaker 6: big numbers in front of you.
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: At least that is how I felt.
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: Like.
- 1:15:16Speaker 6: You think about the number, You're like, that's a cool
- 1:15:17Speaker 6: number to hear, like that's amazing, and then I think about, Okay, well,
- 1:15:21Speaker 6: i'd also be leaving part of my take if that
- 1:15:23Speaker 6: were to happen. The show means a lot to me.
- 1:15:25Speaker 6: We started it, we've seen it grow, we put so
- 1:15:28Speaker 6: much effort into it. I love these guys. I love
- 1:15:30Speaker 6: our fans, I don't like I feel a sense of
- 1:15:33Speaker 6: responsibility to them too, where it's like I had bands
- 1:15:36Speaker 6: and shows that I love growing up and if they
- 1:15:39Speaker 6: split up, like it really like affected you a little
- 1:15:42Speaker 6: bit committed to it. There's a lot of people out
- 1:15:44Speaker 6: there that feel that way, and like that was a
- 1:15:46Speaker 6: big part of saying like, no, I don't necessarily need
- 1:15:50Speaker 6: to chase this huge number Parsceol. By the way, it's
- 1:15:52Speaker 6: not like Barstol wasn't paying fair like they they made
- 1:15:55Speaker 6: good offers, but they were you know, other companies were
- 1:15:57Speaker 6: trying to throw big, big dollars and I was just like,
- 1:16:01Speaker 6: you know what. Number one, I don't feel like breaking
- 1:16:04Speaker 6: up this podcast. I don't feel like ending it. We're
- 1:16:06Speaker 6: not done here. And number two, it would come with
- 1:16:09Speaker 6: a lot more responsibility. And part of making this decision
- 1:16:13Speaker 6: for me was you have to know what you like
- 1:16:15Speaker 6: to do, and I like doing the show. I like
- 1:16:18Speaker 6: the creative aspect, I like everything that goes with that.
- 1:16:21Speaker 6: I don't think I'm good at starting my own company,
- 1:16:24Speaker 6: you know, I don't think I'm good at hiring people
- 1:16:27Speaker 6: and and like, you know, keeping tabs on the administrative
- 1:16:31Speaker 6: side of all that. That to me doesn't sound like fun,
- 1:16:33Speaker 6: and I think that the show that I would create
- 1:16:35Speaker 6: would suffer because I'm not, you know, just totally locked
- 1:16:38Speaker 6: in on the creative aspect. And so it was a
- 1:16:40Speaker 6: combination of all those things. And also like there's no
- 1:16:42Speaker 6: better job in the world in my opinion than than
- 1:16:44Speaker 6: doing part of my taking. So yeah, it became The
- 1:16:48Speaker 6: first time was like kind of hard to say no.
- 1:16:50Speaker 6: The second time I was like.
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: I don't.
- 1:16:52Speaker 6: I don't even stake the meetings, like we're going to
- 1:16:54Speaker 6: figure something out. It'll happen.
- 1:16:56Speaker 5: Yeah, And I think too when you look back at
- 1:16:58Speaker 5: other shows, was whether it be like Mike and Mike
- 1:17:01Speaker 5: or Jesus and Marrow and like no offense to those guys,
- 1:17:04Speaker 5: but you can see what happens with the break or
- 1:17:07Speaker 5: like Mike Our Francess and Mad Dog, like Belichick and
- 1:17:11Speaker 5: Brady you can see. But all these breakups you can
- 1:17:14Speaker 5: see exactly what happens. There's one person that thinks they're
- 1:17:16Speaker 5: the star and they're like, I want to go get
- 1:17:19Speaker 5: my thing. I'm bigger than you and this whereas like
- 1:17:23Speaker 5: I know, like personally, I think PFT feels the same way.
- 1:17:27Speaker 5: If we split up, would I be able to have
- 1:17:29Speaker 5: a successful podcast. Yeah, but it would be like sixty
- 1:17:33Speaker 5: percent of or fifty percent or forty percent of what
- 1:17:35Speaker 5: part of my take is. We would never separately be
- 1:17:38Speaker 5: able to reach one hundred percent of what part might take.
- 1:17:43Speaker 6: Yeah, that was a big part of it. Like if
- 1:17:45Speaker 6: I were to leave, I could start a show. It
- 1:17:46Speaker 6: could be good, but it would never and honestly, it
- 1:17:49Speaker 6: would never surpass what part of my take was, and
- 1:17:51Speaker 6: I would always be trying to chase that.
- 1:17:53Speaker 5: Right, Right, it's not a healthy us each of us separately,
- 1:17:57Speaker 5: if you if you just said round numbers, like if
- 1:18:00Speaker 5: you're going one hundred percent, I think each of us
- 1:18:02Speaker 5: separately would reach seventy percent of our audience right. Separately,
- 1:18:06Speaker 5: we would never get a hundred, right, And like, so
- 1:18:08Speaker 5: it's the powers together, is like you like, I just
- 1:18:11Speaker 5: know that's what it is.
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: Neither of us are the star so to speak, you
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: know what I mean?
- 1:18:16Speaker 5: Like we're like, oh, it's because of me, it's the
- 1:18:18Speaker 5: whole thing, right, And it's all the guys too. Like
- 1:18:21Speaker 5: the great thing about our show too, is like Hank
- 1:18:23Speaker 5: is a very big part of it. He gets like
- 1:18:26Speaker 5: he actually gets upset because we we like like when
- 1:18:29Speaker 5: it comes to like money and stuff or like things
- 1:18:31Speaker 5: are splitting up, we'll split it a third third. With Hank,
- 1:18:34Speaker 5: he's like, I didn't do shit. We're like, dude, but
- 1:18:36Speaker 5: you're like, you're a big part of this. You you
- 1:18:39Speaker 5: built this with us in Max and means all these guys, Yeah,
- 1:18:43Speaker 5: did you hear that?
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: Hank?
- 1:18:46Speaker 5: He does, so he gets mad at us when we
- 1:18:48Speaker 5: do like I mean it's not for it's not we're
- 1:18:49Speaker 5: not talking about like our contracts. We're talking about like
- 1:18:52Speaker 5: when we have revenue splits for things, we always make
- 1:18:54Speaker 5: sure everyone else gets them because like we.
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: Can't do this with just the two of us, like
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: it's the whole team.
- 1:19:00Speaker 3: But if you get so that's awesome because I agree
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: with you, like having the chemistry is way more than
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: just going off and trying to do your own thing right.
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: Part of my take has been on the top for
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: so long, like what what's the next thing? You guys
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: are trying to chase, Like what is the next Like, oh,
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: this would be awesome to achieve this.
- 1:19:13Speaker 6: I don't know that we think that way. I think
- 1:19:16Speaker 6: we let the show evolve naturally depending on what's happening.
- 1:19:18Speaker 6: You can plan everything out and if it doesn't happen organically,
- 1:19:22Speaker 6: then it's not going to be that successful. But yeah,
- 1:19:24Speaker 6: we're just going to keep doing what we do and
- 1:19:26Speaker 6: try to find like the most natural paths for us
- 1:19:30Speaker 6: to evolve. It Like, if there's new platform that comes
- 1:19:32Speaker 6: out that we have to be on, then we'll find
- 1:19:35Speaker 6: somebody that knows about that platform and we'll figure out
- 1:19:37Speaker 6: how to optimize that. But I don't think that we've
- 1:19:40Speaker 6: never sat down and had like a strategic like two
- 1:19:43Speaker 6: year what's our what's our two year plan? Well?
- 1:19:45Speaker 5: Yeah, and I think it's a very it's a weird
- 1:19:48Speaker 5: feeling because in the media business, in sports and anything
- 1:19:52Speaker 5: in business ever, a lot of people are always like
- 1:19:55Speaker 5: what's the next thing, what's the next thing, what's the
- 1:19:56Speaker 5: next thing? You see like someone a media person like
- 1:19:59Speaker 5: STARTUPO and they're on ESPN and they're doing this, and
- 1:20:02Speaker 5: it's like they're climbing the ladder.
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: The bb the barstool.
- 1:20:05Speaker 5: Van Talk's experience kind of told us like, hey, we're
- 1:20:09Speaker 5: good where we're at on the ladder, you know what
- 1:20:11Speaker 5: I mean, Like we're never gonna be movie stars, We're
- 1:20:14Speaker 5: never gonna have, you know, a Netflix show. But I
- 1:20:17Speaker 5: don't give a fuck like where we're like it's I
- 1:20:19Speaker 5: think it's a very great feeling to have to be
- 1:20:22Speaker 5: like at peace at what you have and not constantly
- 1:20:26Speaker 5: being like, what's the next thing. I haven't thought about
- 1:20:28Speaker 5: what's the next thing since barstool Van Talk, and it's
- 1:20:31Speaker 5: been the best feeling in the world, because what's the
- 1:20:34Speaker 5: next thing? It's Sunday night, Tuesday night, Thursday night.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: We're gonna record.
- 1:20:38Speaker 5: Yeah, And I you know, obviously, in the back of
- 1:20:40Speaker 5: my head, I'm like, we're getting older. Eventually we'll hit
- 1:20:42Speaker 5: a point where people start mocking us and be like,
- 1:20:45Speaker 5: you're the old guys.
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: But we also have an audience that's grown old with us,
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: you know what I mean. So, and I.
- 1:20:51Speaker 5: Welcome the time when we just get mocked for being
- 1:20:54Speaker 5: old and forgetting shit. Guess what, We're gonna keep doing
- 1:20:57Speaker 5: it and it's still gonna be fun. If I'm having
- 1:20:59Speaker 5: fun and I'm laughing, making me laugh, I'm making him laugh,
- 1:21:01Speaker 5: We're gonna keep doing it.
- 1:21:02Speaker 6: And if people are busting bulls for being old, it
- 1:21:04Speaker 6: means they're still paying attention, We're still listening, right, and
- 1:21:07Speaker 6: they're busting their balls because it's fun to make fun
- 1:21:10Speaker 6: of people. That you listen to. Right, I get that
- 1:21:12Speaker 6: you can't take everything seriously. It's when they just stop
- 1:21:15Speaker 6: commenting altogether, right, that would be the That would be bad.
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: That would be the moment.
- 1:21:18Speaker 5: But even when they stopped, we'll probably keep doing it,
- 1:21:20Speaker 5: like we we joke about it all the time.
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: If we stopped.
- 1:21:23Speaker 5: If you told us barstool just cease to exist tomorrow,
- 1:21:26Speaker 5: part of my take cease to exist tomorrow, what would
- 1:21:28Speaker 5: you do? And the honest answer is I'd probably call
- 1:21:31Speaker 5: up p FD, Hank and Max and be like, hey,
- 1:21:34Speaker 5: you guys want to come over and watch some football,
- 1:21:35Speaker 5: and then we would just do the podcast just sitting there,
- 1:21:38Speaker 5: Like when we flew here yesterday. We just did a
- 1:21:40Speaker 5: full podcast.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: On the plane.
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: Yeah, like just talking.
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: You know, I can tell you from experience, it's not
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: that bad when people make funny for forgetting stuff.
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's true.
- 1:21:50Speaker 3: Yeah, you don't do it too.
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: You don't have to be.
- 1:21:54Speaker 3: Goldfish.
- 1:21:55Speaker 6: What do you think we should do with the will
- 1:21:56Speaker 6: Compton Museum?
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: I kind of like the rout he's going, He's just
- 1:21:59Speaker 2: add more company.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: Yeah, we're just gonna have all the will Compton.
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: It's such a it's such a weird.
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: You know.
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: When he brought it up the first time, it is
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: a very like It's like, yeah, I love that it
- 1:22:07Speaker 2: got built in uh in the first place. But if
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: he did away with it, it's like, no, it's forever,
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: no matter what, we were never going to do away
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: with it.
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: But I do like all I.
- 1:22:15Speaker 2: Told him, I was like, just protect that unless you
- 1:22:17Speaker 2: give it back to me. But protect that that redskins.
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: Yes, I got that.
- 1:22:21Speaker 5: But yeah, I do think that in like ten years,
- 1:22:23Speaker 5: if we have like fifty Will Comptons, just more or less,
- 1:22:27Speaker 5: it's all, it'd be very funny. Yes, I mean just
- 1:22:31Speaker 5: I who oh. And when Andrew Luck was here, I
- 1:22:35Speaker 5: gave him a tour of the Will Compton Museum and
- 1:22:37Speaker 5: I was like, and here's Will's jersey from Titans. Then
- 1:22:39Speaker 5: here's other Will Compton at a TCU tailgate, and it's.
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: Just like ridiculous, that's awesome. Yeah, what did you.
- 1:22:45Speaker 3: Think about the museum? He liked it, he did.
- 1:22:47Speaker 2: Did he remember me as a player?
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: Yes?
- 1:22:54Speaker 6: Did you ever play against him?
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: Uh?
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: Don't you remember?
- 1:22:59Speaker 2: Yeah? I don't know the Colts, Yeah, I think we
- 1:23:03Speaker 2: Twenty eighteen was this last year.
- 1:23:05Speaker 8: I'm trying to think of twenty fifteen, we played the
- 1:23:07Speaker 8: NFC PF T would probably I'm trying to remember if
- 1:23:10Speaker 8: you if that team played the Cold.
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: But he was injured a couple of the years for
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: like full years.
- 1:23:14Speaker 3: Yeah, but we and twenty fifty Yeah, you know what
- 1:23:16Speaker 3: all the NFC East because I was an AFC sound.
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: We did play at Indianapolis one time because that is
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: where I got a spinal cord concussion. Oh that's running down,
- 1:23:24Speaker 2: running down on kickoff.
- 1:23:25Speaker 3: Yeah, spinal cord. The spiders for concussion just sounds way
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: worse than any concussion.
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: It's like where the I don't even know the word,
- 1:23:32Speaker 2: but they narrow, like in your spine, like the fluid
- 1:23:35Speaker 2: lines that go down they kind of narrow, and they
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: get an MRI to see if there's anything off with it.
- 1:23:41Speaker 3: Came out clean.
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: Your body just goes like like a metal pole just
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: hits a you know, our bat just hits a pole.
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: It just rattled.
- 1:23:47Speaker 6: Did they give you that that injection that's like it
- 1:23:50Speaker 6: makes you cold?
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: You know they put you in a medical mountain.
- 1:23:53Speaker 3: The little ice pick that goes up you talking about the.
- 1:23:56Speaker 6: Die No, No, it like it like lowers your body temperature.
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: Like tomorrow when he went through his thing.
- 1:24:02Speaker 5: They like put him in a medically induced coma where
- 1:24:04Speaker 5: his body temperature was like eighty eight.
- 1:24:06Speaker 3: No ship, yeah, I heard.
- 1:24:09Speaker 6: And they got the clone out.
- 1:24:10Speaker 3: The biggest injury you as I've ever sustained.
- 1:24:13Speaker 5: I tore up my ankle real bad, like ligaments, tendons.
- 1:24:16Speaker 5: I still have terrible. I went actually to this place
- 1:24:18Speaker 5: called stretch Lab where they just stretch you out sure
- 1:24:22Speaker 5: and they do a test in front of a computer
- 1:24:24Speaker 5: and it shows like your weaknesses. And I was pretty
- 1:24:27Speaker 5: good overall, and then it was just two red circles
- 1:24:29Speaker 5: around my ankles and.
- 1:24:32Speaker 6: So I got I've broken probably like eight or nine ribs,
- 1:24:37Speaker 6: I think, and one at one time. No, no, like
- 1:24:40Speaker 6: over the course of my life.
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: Herniated disk that was bad?
- 1:24:44Speaker 3: Are no joke?
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't probably hernia that one I was.
- 1:24:49Speaker 5: I was literally We actually did a They came over
- 1:24:52Speaker 5: to my house because I couldn't get off the floor
- 1:24:54Speaker 5: for three days. We did a podcast from my house.
- 1:24:57Speaker 5: I was just sleeping on the floor. I just kept
- 1:24:59Speaker 5: on telling my wife. I was like, just fucking shoot
- 1:25:01Speaker 5: me play.
- 1:25:02Speaker 3: The Cardinals one time and I did something to like
- 1:25:04Speaker 3: my s I joint and we stayed in Arizona for
- 1:25:07Speaker 3: the week before we went to San Francisco, and I
- 1:25:10Speaker 3: I literally just brushing my teeth, Yeah, getting out of bed,
- 1:25:12Speaker 3: any kind of movement. I was like, this is the
- 1:25:14Speaker 3: worst thing ever. Yeah. The only thing that helped us
- 1:25:16Speaker 3: like kind of walking. So I'd stand up all day
- 1:25:18Speaker 3: walking a little, and then once I got to bed,
- 1:25:19Speaker 3: I was like, I just I prayed to God I
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: can walk when I get up in the morning.
- 1:25:23Speaker 5: When I heard nim I just the last time I
- 1:25:24Speaker 5: was playing basketball and I was like I felt it,
- 1:25:27Speaker 5: Like I felt it like a real like knife in
- 1:25:30Speaker 5: your back. I was like, no, I'm good. I kept playing,
- 1:25:32Speaker 5: got it in an uber home, got out of the
- 1:25:34Speaker 5: uber and literally could not move. I stood at like
- 1:25:37Speaker 5: the lamp post for thirty minutes because I couldn't move.
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: I was it was yeah back injury.
- 1:25:43Speaker 5: The NFL ye like yeah, like, you guys just did
- 1:25:48Speaker 5: that question to fucking make us look like yeah, I
- 1:25:53Speaker 5: think as I said, I was like, yeah, these guys
- 1:25:55Speaker 5: are easy. I'm talking about spinal concussion. That is like
- 1:25:59Speaker 5: I went for a loose ball and pick up and.
- 1:26:02Speaker 6: It was like I got internally decapitated. We had to
- 1:26:05Speaker 6: put my head back on inside my neck. I've had
- 1:26:09Speaker 6: four concussions, But how many do you guys, Yeah, well
- 1:26:13Speaker 6: four diagnosed I've had, But how many would you guys say,
- 1:26:18Speaker 6: you're at.
- 1:26:18Speaker 3: I I honestly, I don't know.
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: The only time I ever got held out the rest
- 1:26:21Speaker 2: of the game and we were already in the fourth
- 1:26:23Speaker 2: quarter and it was the last game of the season.
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: I passed my baseline in the locker room and was
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: ready to go back out there.
- 1:26:29Speaker 3: But they're like, you know, basically.
- 1:26:31Speaker 2: A minor concussion a mile of concussion. Yeah, but probably
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: several I mean I had that. I had that instance
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: where I'm like stiff internally for a minute several times.
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: But every time, like I passed the test on the
- 1:26:44Speaker 2: sideline and you're kind of just you're you're back with it,
- 1:26:47Speaker 2: or so I think I am, and you're just like,
- 1:26:49Speaker 2: you know, you get back. I don't know how many diagnosed.
- 1:26:52Speaker 3: I've had, like three or four maybe diagnosed, like how
- 1:26:56Speaker 3: to sit out those types of things. But there's always
- 1:26:58Speaker 3: the you're in the middle of the game, you take
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: a hard hit, you're kind of like, that was crazy, Yeah,
- 1:27:03Speaker 3: that was wild.
- 1:27:04Speaker 6: They wake up the next day and you know that
- 1:27:06Speaker 6: something's not right, Yeah, that's the worst part.
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: That's kind of how like the first I think we're
- 1:27:09Speaker 3: talking about a couple of weeks ago. The first couple,
- 1:27:11Speaker 3: like the first week of camp. I feel like it's
- 1:27:14Speaker 3: just one long concussion because you have like your helmet
- 1:27:16Speaker 3: on all week and you're like it even hurts to
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: have the helmet on. Then you have headache the next
- 1:27:21Speaker 3: day you're next door and so like, and then after
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: a week you're like, Okay, this is my new normal,
- 1:27:25Speaker 3: it's my new baseline. Yeah, And then I would always
- 1:27:27Speaker 3: go through like as soon as the season ended, I'd
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: have like three weeks of fog where I'd be like
- 1:27:31Speaker 3: kind of like tired, lethargic. I'm like putting words together
- 1:27:34Speaker 3: was more tough than usual, and then all of a sudden,
- 1:27:37Speaker 3: like three weeks and I'd be like, Okay, I feel fine,
- 1:27:38Speaker 3: it's all. It's all good now.
- 1:27:39Speaker 6: Every time you can't remember something in the back of
- 1:27:42Speaker 6: your head or you're like, oh fuck, that's a concussion.
- 1:27:43Speaker 3: As I get older, it is.
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: Yeah, sometimes.
- 1:27:48Speaker 6: It's normal to forget stuff. It's you're psyching yourself out
- 1:27:51Speaker 6: when you're like, oh.
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: It's so interesting, like being a young football player compared
- 1:27:55Speaker 3: to being an old like as you get older, because
- 1:27:56Speaker 3: when you're young, like truly, if you died on the
- 1:27:59Speaker 3: grid eye, if you like went and there, like they
- 1:28:01Speaker 3: checked your pulson, like he's done with us like that,
- 1:28:04Speaker 3: you literally think yourself like I I only praying today's
- 1:28:07Speaker 3: that day for me. Yeah, And then as you get older,
- 1:28:09Speaker 3: you have kids or whatever, and you're like holy shit,
- 1:28:11Speaker 3: because they're like a what if something actually happened? Yeah,
- 1:28:15Speaker 3: starts now that I'm done. I was talking to JP
- 1:28:17Speaker 3: by this earlier today, like I feel like I have
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: to constantly stay ahead of the sticks. Is a part
- 1:28:21Speaker 3: of like nutrition and all that stuff, because it's like
- 1:28:24Speaker 3: you're going to decay eventually. Just try to outlast it
- 1:28:26Speaker 3: as long as possible. Yeah, scared, So I'm like super
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: hyper sensitive.
- 1:28:29Speaker 6: But one thing I noticed growing up because I played
- 1:28:31Speaker 6: I played like different sports. I played a little bit
- 1:28:34Speaker 6: of football, I played soccer, I played basketball, I played baseball.
- 1:28:38Speaker 6: Every coach in every sport besides football knew that concussions
- 1:28:42Speaker 6: were bad. I swear to God, this was not like
- 1:28:45Speaker 6: people say, like knowing what we know now about concussions
- 1:28:48Speaker 6: and that they're not good. It's like I remember being
- 1:28:50Speaker 6: eight years old and somebody would get hit in the
- 1:28:52Speaker 6: head and the coach would be like, no, we got
- 1:28:54Speaker 6: to make sure you don't get concussed. You got to
- 1:28:55Speaker 6: sit out for a little bit, like going through high
- 1:28:57Speaker 6: school on the high school soccer team, you got a
- 1:28:59Speaker 6: freshman year, somebody got a concussion. Coach is like, you're
- 1:29:01Speaker 6: sitting out two weeks. We can't risk that. And then
- 1:29:04Speaker 6: in football they'd be like, yeah, we don't know, like concussions.
- 1:29:07Speaker 6: It could be a good thing, could be a bad thing,
- 1:29:11Speaker 6: Like it was the only sport that did not like
- 1:29:13Speaker 6: even wrestlers. Wrestlers wuld be like, yeah, you can cuss,
- 1:29:16Speaker 6: you can't wrestle.
- 1:29:17Speaker 5: And I just think you're like a pussy if you
- 1:29:19Speaker 5: don't like yeah, truly old clips like I do a
- 1:29:23Speaker 5: radio hit in Chicago with Wattle and Sylvie and Sylvie
- 1:29:26Speaker 5: or sorry. Wattle played for the Bears and there's a
- 1:29:28Speaker 5: clip of him it was John Madden, Uh broadcast a game.
- 1:29:32Speaker 5: He got cost like five different times and John Madden's like, oh,
- 1:29:34Speaker 5: he's got the cobwebs again. It's like this is insane.
- 1:29:38Speaker 3: That video of like Kiko Alonso playing and then he
- 1:29:41Speaker 3: like walks over the other sideline. Yeah, he's just so
- 1:29:44Speaker 3: like not there. Guys like, oh, don't know what sideline
- 1:29:47Speaker 3: he's on it?
- 1:29:47Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, he's like crawling off on his elbows. And
- 1:29:51Speaker 6: then I was like, it looks to be a little
- 1:29:53Speaker 6: shaken up.
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: Yeaheah, get those cops.
- 1:29:56Speaker 2: Wild Man was crazy.
- 1:29:57Speaker 5: But I know you guys had a last question before
- 1:30:00Speaker 5: I have a question for you will before we This is, Oh,
- 1:30:03Speaker 5: you go for the last question.
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: I was gonna ask because you talked about the first time.
- 1:30:06Speaker 2: I wanted to. I wanted to know if there's ever
- 1:30:08Speaker 2: been like a friction between you guys. You talked about
- 1:30:10Speaker 2: the first time you were negotiating. It was very hard
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: to say no is every time you thought he was
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: leaving or vice versas. The first was kind of weird
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: having just entering into whatever, whether it's text conversation or
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: in person.
- 1:30:22Speaker 5: I don't I want to say it was weird the
- 1:30:23Speaker 5: first time that he had to like talk to people.
- 1:30:27Speaker 5: It wasn't like because we talked about it, like we
- 1:30:30Speaker 5: had a very open conversation about it. It's like, yeah,
- 1:30:32Speaker 5: you have to do this, And it wasn't like tension.
- 1:30:34Speaker 5: It was more just like bummed out, like this would suck. Yeah,
- 1:30:38Speaker 5: it sucks, you know what I mean. Like, it wasn't like,
- 1:30:40Speaker 5: oh fuck, he's gonna like I can't believe he's gonna
- 1:30:42Speaker 5: do this. It's more like, I know how the business works.
- 1:30:45Speaker 5: If someone offers him something crazy that he can't turn down,
- 1:30:48Speaker 5: this is gonna bum me out real bad.
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: So it's more having that like hover over your head. Yeah.
- 1:30:52Speaker 6: And the first time I got dragged out, I think
- 1:30:54Speaker 6: for like six months, the whole negotia. Yeah, and that
- 1:30:58Speaker 6: that drags you down. And and it's like everything's developing
- 1:31:01Speaker 6: on both sides, Like barstool was changing. It was like
- 1:31:04Speaker 6: right before the pen deal, I think, And so things
- 1:31:06Speaker 6: were changing on that end, things were changing with the
- 1:31:08Speaker 6: companies that were offering me stuff on the other end.
- 1:31:10Speaker 6: And it was just like I would I would make
- 1:31:11Speaker 6: sure to tell big Cat like once a month, Hey,
- 1:31:14Speaker 6: here's where we're at, just so you know, this sucks.
- 1:31:17Speaker 6: And then finally when you make the decision, it's like, okay, that.
- 1:31:19Speaker 2: How we were coming into the office, know, and then
- 1:31:22Speaker 2: it's all up in the air.
- 1:31:24Speaker 6: I don't think it was weird at all. I just
- 1:31:26Speaker 6: didn't like when I was thinking about it too much.
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: Yeah, And I.
- 1:31:29Speaker 5: Will say the pen deal kind of sucked in the
- 1:31:31Speaker 5: fact that I wasn't allowed to say anything to anyone,
- 1:31:34Speaker 5: so it was just Dave, Eric and I. No one
- 1:31:36Speaker 5: else knew because it's a publicly traded company, so it
- 1:31:39Speaker 5: was like very.
- 1:31:40Speaker 8: And you're in with barbol you say anything because the
- 1:31:42Speaker 8: stock nothing literally nothing, Like we had to signed all
- 1:31:45Speaker 8: this paperwork, so like I couldn't tell PFT until like
- 1:31:48Speaker 8: the day before was announced, and that sucked.
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: But it also was.
- 1:31:51Speaker 5: Like I don't I in my head, I'm like, it
- 1:31:54Speaker 5: is good for all of us. We're all gonna, you know,
- 1:31:56Speaker 5: make some money off this. So it's like if I
- 1:31:59Speaker 5: say something thing to someone and it sucks up this.
- 1:32:02Speaker 1: Deal, I'll never I'll never be able to deal with, Right, So.
- 1:32:05Speaker 5: That did suck that whole, like having to not tell
- 1:32:09Speaker 5: literally a soul.
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: Yeah, Like I think the only the only people who knew.
- 1:32:13Speaker 5: Were Dave Erica and then I told my wife that
- 1:32:15Speaker 5: was it, Like there wasn't anyone else.
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: So that that did suck.
- 1:32:18Speaker 5: But it worked out, and then it didn't work out,
- 1:32:21Speaker 5: and then it worked out again.
- 1:32:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: I mean, you guys probably would have been hired if it.
- 1:32:24Speaker 3: Wasn't for Penn probably would have been hired, would not
- 1:32:27Speaker 3: have we signed right before the pen was done.
- 1:32:32Speaker 2: Yeah, sign well, big cat saying to this point, obviously
- 1:32:35Speaker 2: do you take on investor money and everything else? They
- 1:32:37Speaker 2: have the funds.
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: When did you guys sign twenty.
- 1:32:39Speaker 2: February February twenty twenty that we are like a few
- 1:32:42Speaker 2: weeks later you guys.
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: Well, we had it had been it works for like
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: six months the Super Bowl. Yeah anyway, Yeah, but.
- 1:32:49Speaker 5: Like Penn coming on to barstool, their big thing was
- 1:32:53Speaker 5: like we have we're a billion dollar corporation. We're going
- 1:32:57Speaker 5: to invest in the company. So, like your guys, deal
- 1:32:59Speaker 5: probably is because Penn Box.
- 1:33:01Speaker 2: Our first deal though was just pure split revenue.
- 1:33:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: Yeah, we just had.
- 1:33:07Speaker 2: A conversation about MG and we were like, oh yeah,
- 1:33:10Speaker 2: we're just like, hey, we'll take a higher rev share
- 1:33:13Speaker 2: because they was like, look, you guys already have a
- 1:33:15Speaker 2: little something going on. We don't want your i P.
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: That's also in all the Caller Daddy stuff was going down. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: he said, you guys can keep your i P. We
- 1:33:21Speaker 2: can talk about an MG and then splitting fifty to fifty.
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: So we decided to take like higher.
- 1:33:25Speaker 5: It was all revenue split our yeah, but Penn was
- 1:33:28Speaker 5: able to We were able to take chances on a
- 1:33:30Speaker 5: lot of other stuff, which was awesome.
- 1:33:31Speaker 1: All right, is you ready for my question?
- 1:33:33Speaker 2: I'm ready your last the last question, my last question.
- 1:33:38Speaker 3: Yeah, I just want to know about pop punk, what
- 1:33:40Speaker 3: the what the future holds for pop punk?
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: That's a good question.
- 1:33:42Speaker 3: We're smarting out.
- 1:33:43Speaker 6: Kids, so uhair we got we got Frankie having a
- 1:33:48Speaker 6: kid I think in what May, yeah, and then Roan
- 1:33:51Speaker 6: having kids in May too, and it swinds yeah, which yeah,
- 1:33:56Speaker 6: and so we found out how to say it, like
- 1:33:58Speaker 6: right at the same time, we were doing a punk
- 1:34:00Speaker 6: practice and then Frankie is up there and he's singing
- 1:34:03Speaker 6: like that Creed song with arms Wide Open or My
- 1:34:06Speaker 6: Sacrifice or something like that. And then he's like, and
- 1:34:08Speaker 6: by the way, guys, I'm singing this song because I'm
- 1:34:10Speaker 6: about to be a dad in May. And then Roan's like,
- 1:34:13Speaker 6: oh shit, so you're the first trimester right now. And
- 1:34:17Speaker 6: I was like there was some quick math from rowing
- 1:34:19Speaker 6: over there, like how does he know what fucking trimester
- 1:34:21Speaker 6: you're in right now? Like forty five minutes later, Roan
- 1:34:24Speaker 6: gets on the mic. He's like, guys, I'm also.
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: Going to be a dad and all, and we're having twins.
- 1:34:29Speaker 6: Just completely Alpha and Frankie shot to no, we got it.
- 1:34:34Speaker 6: We got a couple of songs that are in the
- 1:34:35Speaker 6: tank that we've recorded sound pretty good. We're gonna shoot
- 1:34:38Speaker 6: some music videos for him and then maybe play some
- 1:34:40Speaker 6: festivals this summer.
- 1:34:41Speaker 3: I love it. Second part question is if you guys
- 1:34:44Speaker 3: are ever back in Nashville. I want to come back
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: on stage.
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:34:46Speaker 3: I enjoy that so much. Yeah, being able to sing
- 1:34:50Speaker 3: that's my favorite genre of music. I love it. I'm
- 1:34:53Speaker 3: all about it. I don't care if I sound good
- 1:34:54Speaker 3: or not. I am all about that.
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: Okay, you're in love it, yep.
- 1:34:58Speaker 3: So Beer Olympics for sure. So it sounds like we're
- 1:35:01Speaker 3: not even leaving bar Storre anymore.
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:35:03Speaker 5: My last question for Will, because we're probably never gonna
- 1:35:07Speaker 5: speak again, do you do you want one last time
- 1:35:12Speaker 5: for p F T and I to explain to you
- 1:35:15Speaker 5: why you go for two down fourteen with like five minutes?
- 1:35:20Speaker 5: You want us to explain it to you because I
- 1:35:23Speaker 5: like its from now when this decision or next season
- 1:35:27Speaker 5: when the situation comes up.
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: And you're like, what the fuck why are they doing this,
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: We're not picking up the call. We're not gonna help you.
- 1:35:33Speaker 2: You don't have to. I still just tweet it out.
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: Okay, well, we're not gonna help you through this.
- 1:35:36Speaker 2: You can explain it, but we've also talked about it,
- 1:35:39Speaker 2: and you and pf T can explain those rules to me.
- 1:35:42Speaker 2: Every coach that's come through has talked about that's not true.
- 1:35:46Speaker 2: They can shove analytics up there ast.
- 1:35:47Speaker 1: That it's not analytics, it's just math.
- 1:35:50Speaker 2: I understand them.
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: You don't understand.
- 1:35:53Speaker 2: There's no there's no math for moment.
- 1:35:55Speaker 6: Do you know that any you know anything? There will
- 1:35:59Speaker 6: is doing the thing where you use You use the
- 1:36:01Speaker 6: term analytics to describe a number that you don't like. Yes,
- 1:36:04Speaker 6: but you use all the numbers that you do like,
- 1:36:05Speaker 6: all the corrects, like if you will, let me ask
- 1:36:07Speaker 6: you this. You're down by twenty one points, it's the
- 1:36:09Speaker 6: third quarter. What's your percentage of run versus pass?
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: Gonna be high pass? That's analytics.
- 1:36:15Speaker 6: And here he goes to the fucking stat nerd over
- 1:36:17Speaker 6: here doing analytics.
- 1:36:18Speaker 1: On us and the crunching numbers. Nerd boy, Yeah, look,
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: I don't math.
- 1:36:23Speaker 6: It's never won a Super Bowl?
- 1:36:24Speaker 3: Will get them.
- 1:36:26Speaker 6: They don't even use numbers for the Super Bowls. It's
- 1:36:29Speaker 6: it's math numbers.
- 1:36:30Speaker 2: I understand it's math, bro, but it's like, Uh, if
- 1:36:34Speaker 2: you don't get it, you're gonna have You're gonna that
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: doesn't mean you're going to get it the.
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: Next Statistically, if you trust those, it's.
- 1:36:41Speaker 9: Fifty to fifty if you have a good play. Yeah,
- 1:36:45Speaker 9: but and what about it? Just think of the negative,
- 1:36:48Speaker 9: not the positive. Mike Vrabel, the guy you love, did
- 1:36:52Speaker 9: this against the Dolphins and it won them the game.
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: I know Taylor knows that was Yeahami two years ago were.
- 1:37:02Speaker 3: This is what.
- 1:37:05Speaker 2: Dan Campbell Lions a couple of years ago when they're
- 1:37:08Speaker 2: instead of instead of kicking a field.
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: Goal, something different, talking talking to another.
- 1:37:14Speaker 2: That's another down.
- 1:37:16Speaker 5: Fourteen with with with three possessions left the game five minutes,
- 1:37:21Speaker 5: six minutes, you score a touchdown, you go for two.
- 1:37:26Speaker 6: Why would you do that, because if you guess you.
- 1:37:30Speaker 5: Win the game touchdown stopping the ball again, you don't
- 1:37:34Speaker 5: do it three persessions. When people ask like, would you
- 1:37:37Speaker 5: do it in the third quarter? No, it's a very
- 1:37:38Speaker 5: specific set of circumstances where you're down fourteen and there's
- 1:37:43Speaker 5: say five minutes left. You know, the only way you're
- 1:37:45Speaker 5: gonna win this game is you got to score, stop
- 1:37:47Speaker 5: and score. You can't let them score again. So you're
- 1:37:49Speaker 5: gonna have to make up those fourteen go for two
- 1:37:52Speaker 5: the first time. If you don't get it, you go
- 1:37:54Speaker 5: for to the second time. Statistically speaking, most NFL offenses
- 1:37:58Speaker 5: have two point plays that are over fifty percent, So
- 1:38:00Speaker 5: you're having two chances over fifty percent chance you're gonna
- 1:38:02Speaker 5: get one of them.
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: But if you get the first one, you can win
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: in regulation.
- 1:38:05Speaker 6: And does it always work, No, it doesn't. Sometimes sometimes
- 1:38:08Speaker 6: it does get it right here, but it will work
- 1:38:10Speaker 6: more often than do that.
- 1:38:11Speaker 5: Going for two with how much time? Two forty left,
- 1:38:15Speaker 5: they're down eight, so they just scored. It was twenty
- 1:38:18Speaker 5: seven to thirteen, so they were down fourteen, they got
- 1:38:22Speaker 5: the touchdown, they went for two, twenty seven to twenty one.
- 1:38:24Speaker 5: Then they stopped, got a touchdown, kicked the extra point.
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: One in regulation.
- 1:38:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I don't hate that all right, Okay,
- 1:38:32Speaker 2: let's go. The time we started to go back and forth, though,
- 1:38:35Speaker 2: was not over a well, no Campbell specific, it was
- 1:38:38Speaker 2: analytics overall field goal moment as.
- 1:38:41Speaker 5: What and I truly believe in did Dan Campbell, Like,
- 1:38:44Speaker 5: I think there's a shock factor when he goes for
- 1:38:46Speaker 5: these when you're sitting on your couch, But if you
- 1:38:49Speaker 5: talk to anyone on the lines, they're like, we know
- 1:38:51Speaker 5: we're going for it, Like we know we're doing this.
- 1:38:53Speaker 5: There's we're playing pedal to the medal. You can disagree
- 1:38:56Speaker 5: with the pedal to the medal, but he's consistently that
- 1:38:59Speaker 5: way all the time. He's not going off gut vine, right,
- 1:39:01Speaker 5: He's not like, oh the team exactly. It's like we're
- 1:39:05Speaker 5: gonna fucking go for it and we're gonna step on
- 1:39:07Speaker 5: their throat, right, so and.
- 1:39:08Speaker 2: They don't get it.
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: You're like, look at the against the Lions.
- 1:39:12Speaker 6: And look at the Commanders this year in general, if
- 1:39:15Speaker 6: you want to talk about like the upside of doing it.
- 1:39:16Speaker 6: Dan Quinn was as a great I think he was
- 1:39:19Speaker 6: more aggressive. Yeah, and it worked and we got to
- 1:39:23Speaker 6: the fucking NFC Championship game, like Washington did that the
- 1:39:26Speaker 6: command because.
- 1:39:27Speaker 3: Of the aggressive nature the Eagles was crazy.
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: But the Commanders Lions game, Yeah, they're nine point dogs.
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: They go forward on their first fourth down.
- 1:39:36Speaker 5: They don't get it. Marcus Mariota, like they everything gets
- 1:39:38Speaker 5: sucked up. Dan Quinn wasn't like, oh ship, you know,
- 1:39:42Speaker 5: he didn't get it. No, he went and then they
- 1:39:44Speaker 5: got the next three of them.
- 1:39:45Speaker 6: You know what the Dans do really good. They put
- 1:39:47Speaker 6: themselves in the mindset of an opposing teams fan, which
- 1:39:51Speaker 6: more coaches should do. Correct Like if you're watching at
- 1:39:54Speaker 6: home and you're a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and
- 1:39:57Speaker 6: that first drive, I know we got our asses kicked,
- 1:39:59Speaker 6: but that first drive, marching down the field, we keep
- 1:40:02Speaker 6: going for it on fourth down. Eagles fans are like,
- 1:40:05Speaker 6: I wish they'd fucking kick a field goal. Yeah, I
- 1:40:07Speaker 6: wish they punt, you know. And if you can convert
- 1:40:09Speaker 6: on those like, think about how how defeated they are
- 1:40:12Speaker 6: when we do the thing that they don't want us
- 1:40:14Speaker 6: to do. That's how more coaches should should look at it,
- 1:40:17Speaker 6: Like what is he afraid of? On the other side?
- 1:40:19Speaker 6: Is he is he happy that I'm kicking the ball?
- 1:40:22Speaker 6: If so, fucking go for it, well you're nuts out.
- 1:40:24Speaker 3: This is football, to be honest with you, Like that
- 1:40:27Speaker 3: made so much time. Yeah, the Commanders first drive, they
- 1:40:34Speaker 3: go for it twice on fourth down. I just said this.
- 1:40:36Speaker 3: In the third time, they end up kicking the.
- 1:40:37Speaker 6: Field Yeah, yeah, you should have gone for it.
- 1:40:39Speaker 3: The four.
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: I think that was like and that's.
- 1:40:43Speaker 6: It was still short. But that's where the math comes
- 1:40:44Speaker 6: into it, where that field goal you have a higher
- 1:40:47Speaker 6: percentage of making that than you would kicking like a
- 1:40:49Speaker 6: fifty one numbers again, but yeah, I would have been
- 1:40:52Speaker 6: fine with going for that, would have been Okay, numbers,
- 1:40:53Speaker 6: don't be scared.
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: Yeah, they're your friend.
- 1:40:55Speaker 3: I'll be scared.
- 1:40:56Speaker 6: Yeah, what's your favorite number?
- 1:40:57Speaker 3: Seventy seven? Fifty one?
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: Okay, it's pretty good. It's pretty good answer, simple, good answers.
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: But I mean the Eagles, like.
- 1:41:06Speaker 6: Like the middle of the field area fifty one.
- 1:41:09Speaker 2: You think I have a brain to think like that.
- 1:41:11Speaker 1: That's not that hard.
- 1:41:14Speaker 3: She just brought it out of nowhere too.
- 1:41:16Speaker 5: Yeah, Eagles and are two of the most aggressive teams.
- 1:41:20Speaker 5: The Eagles specifically, they're very aggressive.
- 1:41:25Speaker 2: You look im, I'm with you.
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: Here's some deep math. Sounds like you want to I.
- 1:41:29Speaker 2: Don't want to punt.
- 1:41:30Speaker 3: I like the three taking the three over going for
- 1:41:33Speaker 3: giving your fun hypothetical.
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: He knows he knows the crystal a lot of these coaches,
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: and you go for it in that hypothetic, have to
- 1:41:41Speaker 1: go for.
- 1:41:41Speaker 2: I know I'm looking. I'm looking for a d to
- 1:41:43Speaker 2: where the math comes in and you're like, all right,
- 1:41:45Speaker 2: we're gonna pump the ball. That's what Ultimately, I want
- 1:41:46Speaker 2: to see my homes down for inside the ten a
- 1:41:50Speaker 2: minute twenty left, two time outs.
- 1:41:52Speaker 3: I just I want to see that only quarterback to
- 1:41:54Speaker 3: go seven and Eagles should go.
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: For like the Eagles should any chance they get in
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: five their own forty five.
- 1:42:00Speaker 5: Yeah, but I know it's stupid, like if you, uh,
- 1:42:02Speaker 5: if Eagles are let's say up seven, they go up
- 1:42:05Speaker 5: seven with a touchdown. Like I'm not a fan of this,
- 1:42:08Speaker 5: but when it comes to Patrick Mahomes, I would be
- 1:42:10Speaker 5: go for two to make it two possession games, because like,
- 1:42:12Speaker 5: if you keep it a one possion game with Patrick Mahomes,
- 1:42:14Speaker 5: he's gonna kill you.
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: He's gonna kill you.
- 1:42:16Speaker 5: And I normally would say, go go kick that act
- 1:42:19Speaker 5: go up eight so that they have to score and
- 1:42:21Speaker 5: they get a two point conversion. But with Patrick Mahomes, specifically,
- 1:42:24Speaker 5: if you have a chance to go up two scores, you.
- 1:42:26Speaker 3: Have to do it. If he's got the ball in
- 1:42:28Speaker 3: his hands, last the last position in the game of ball,
- 1:42:30Speaker 3: his hands and it's a one score game.
- 1:42:33Speaker 6: So but think about this. Now, a lot of these
- 1:42:35Speaker 6: coaches that are going forward short, they're calling plays on
- 1:42:38Speaker 6: second down knowing they don't have to get ten.
- 1:42:42Speaker 1: That's what Campbell does. It opens up the play book.
- 1:42:45Speaker 3: Yes, right, yeah, yeah, Now you don't have to get
- 1:42:47Speaker 3: a certainly sifitting four yards per.
- 1:42:48Speaker 5: Carry right when it's when it's still, when it's third
- 1:42:53Speaker 5: and eight, you don't say we have to throw it
- 1:42:54Speaker 5: to the sticks. You have to just throw it.
- 1:42:56Speaker 3: You gotta calls.
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: Yeah right, I like it.
- 1:42:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't hate it.
- 1:43:00Speaker 6: Like we converted.
- 1:43:01Speaker 3: So punting is going to die soon. The commander.
- 1:43:07Speaker 2: I still disagree with her not going for a versus
- 1:43:09Speaker 2: taking the three. What do you mean obviously he's not
- 1:43:13Speaker 2: a guaranteed.
- 1:43:14Speaker 5: Played to win the game in what situation he played
- 1:43:16Speaker 5: win basically Detroit last year he was.
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: But it worked.
- 1:43:20Speaker 3: No, I didn't it worked.
- 1:43:22Speaker 6: They didn't execute he did it. He dropped the play
- 1:43:24Speaker 6: that he was wide open.
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: Part of the process. You also, you also just assume
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: every field goal is made.
- 1:43:33Speaker 2: Yeah you don't.
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: You you don't use the numbers.
- 1:43:36Speaker 5: When it comes to the field, Like I remember the
- 1:43:39Speaker 5: Lion's kicker last year, it was like outdoors over forty
- 1:43:41Speaker 5: five yards.
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: He was like, fifty. You don't use those numbers.
- 1:43:47Speaker 5: You're just like.
- 1:43:49Speaker 1: Kickers, Brandon Aubrey, you do. It's all there, It's sixty years.
- 1:43:53Speaker 3: He got fair.
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: That's fair.
- 1:43:55Speaker 6: I think another big part of it with the commanders
- 1:43:57Speaker 6: was we didn't really trust our defense.
- 1:43:59Speaker 1: So it's like that's all.
- 1:44:00Speaker 5: Also like you saying, you guys was sucked up at
- 1:44:02Speaker 5: the end of the season. It's like we can't. We
- 1:44:04Speaker 5: can't expose them that.
- 1:44:05Speaker 3: Have been so great to see Hutchinson come back for
- 1:44:07Speaker 3: that Super Bowl.
- 1:44:09Speaker 2: What a story that would We'll bring up this, uh
- 1:44:11Speaker 2: this twist questions got it for?
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: This is the last time Shirm is ever gonna pull
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: up anything for this podcast.
- 1:44:19Speaker 5: Yeah you want to you guys, by the way, you
- 1:44:21Speaker 5: guys can all write down numbers. We'll I'll tell you
- 1:44:24Speaker 5: all is a package?
- 1:44:26Speaker 1: Okay, all right? Done? Whatever it is by a dollar,
- 1:44:32Speaker 1: no deal. Oh I like that.
- 1:44:35Speaker 2: This twist question.
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: Right down your number, right down your number right now?
- 1:44:38Speaker 1: If it's one dollar over Shirm terms of telling everyone
- 1:44:43Speaker 1: your number.
- 1:44:47Speaker 2: This twisted question is brought to us by Twisted Tea.
- 1:44:50Speaker 2: Twisted teas a refreshing hard iced tea, maybe a real
- 1:44:52Speaker 2: brood treat, real brood tea and five percent and very
- 1:44:58Speaker 2: twisted tea goes down smoo. There is no carbonation, which
- 1:45:02Speaker 2: makes it easy to drink all day long. Twist the
- 1:45:04Speaker 2: tea feels fun and celebrates extreme fandom on game day,
- 1:45:07Speaker 2: and it is the perfect alcohol or beverage for game day,
- 1:45:10Speaker 2: whether tailgating in the parking lot, watching at a bar,
- 1:45:12Speaker 2: or watching with friends at home. Twisted tea is there
- 1:45:15Speaker 2: to turn up your game day. Keep it twisted with
- 1:45:16Speaker 2: the boys and grab a refreshing twisted tea.
- 1:45:21Speaker 6: Well, I'm gonna defend you. There's a lot of people
- 1:45:24Speaker 6: that are like, well, Will Compton dumb jock.
- 1:45:26Speaker 1: Dumb jock.
- 1:45:27Speaker 6: Will was never good enough to be a jock. Okay,
- 1:45:33Speaker 6: so just chill the fuck out your trolls. Back off,
- 1:45:38Speaker 6: back off.
- 1:45:40Speaker 2: Oh my god, if there was a podcast even the
- 1:45:44Speaker 2: bar still sports that you somewhat enjoyed working with, what
- 1:45:48Speaker 2: would be your advice for them in the future as
- 1:45:50Speaker 2: they pursue a new opportunity.
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: This is very clearly about Brendan Walker.
- 1:45:54Speaker 6: See if prepares to leave.
- 1:45:56Speaker 1: I would first say you're making a terrible mistake.
- 1:45:59Speaker 6: No kidding, Uh what would be I would I would
- 1:46:03Speaker 6: wish them good luck and I would say, uh, maybe
- 1:46:08Speaker 6: maybe start your own meme coin.
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: Really bring the community to get smart smart, Yeah.
- 1:46:14Speaker 3: I feel and it's always one step ahead.
- 1:46:17Speaker 1: Yeah, uh real advice.
- 1:46:19Speaker 5: I would say, the outside world gets very noisy and
- 1:46:22Speaker 5: you just have to like you guys know, with the
- 1:46:24Speaker 5: locker room, it's as long as the people inside the
- 1:46:29Speaker 5: room are feel good about what they're doing making each
- 1:46:31Speaker 5: other laugh. Everything else is just noise. It really is like,
- 1:46:36Speaker 5: it's as long as we make each other laugh, and
- 1:46:39Speaker 5: Max and Hank and Memes and all, well we all
- 1:46:41Speaker 5: make each other laugh.
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: Whatever.
- 1:46:43Speaker 5: People, people are gonna nitpick every little thing you do
- 1:46:45Speaker 5: in this profession and it's just noise.
- 1:46:48Speaker 1: Yeah, that's it.
- 1:46:49Speaker 6: Don't try to chase anything. Yeah, focus it cats right, focus.
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: On like and you can't listen.
- 1:46:55Speaker 5: When you listen to the noise, you you then change
- 1:46:58Speaker 5: how you act, you know what I mean. Like, there
- 1:47:00Speaker 5: is such a thing as too much feedback where it's
- 1:47:02Speaker 5: like if one person says, oh I didn't like this
- 1:47:04Speaker 5: or I didn't like that, then you change it. Like
- 1:47:06Speaker 5: there's there's there are people I can guarantee you I've
- 1:47:10Speaker 5: shut off most of the outside noise. But there I
- 1:47:13Speaker 5: can guarantee you there are awls who don't like our
- 1:47:17Speaker 5: fastest two minutes. Oh yeah, And imagine if we listen
- 1:47:20Speaker 5: to them and not listen to the silent majority of
- 1:47:24Speaker 5: people who love it and who like they're they're not
- 1:47:27Speaker 5: saying anything because they love it, you know what I mean.
- 1:47:29Speaker 5: It's the vocal minority that you can't let them dictate
- 1:47:32Speaker 5: how you do your content.
- 1:47:33Speaker 6: It's also something that we forget all the time that
- 1:47:35Speaker 6: there are a lot of people that listen to the
- 1:47:37Speaker 6: podcast that don't tweet at us, right, they don't have
- 1:47:40Speaker 6: social media, that don't comment on YouTube, that don't the majority, yeah,
- 1:47:43Speaker 6: the majority.
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: So like you're not hearing feedback from them.
- 1:47:47Speaker 6: You're hearing feedback from people that like, are very active
- 1:47:49Speaker 6: and part of that, which is great. Like sometimes it's
- 1:47:51Speaker 6: good feedback, but you can't don't don't change what you're
- 1:47:55Speaker 6: trying to do because like, oh, there's five people that
- 1:47:58Speaker 6: told us.
- 1:47:59Speaker 5: This sucks, right, I love, I mean, I love the
- 1:48:02Speaker 5: people who interact with the show on Twitter, Reddit or
- 1:48:04Speaker 5: wherever they're they're doing the YouTube comments. But like, you
- 1:48:08Speaker 5: have to remember that ninety nine point of the people
- 1:48:11Speaker 5: are listening are not on those things and if you
- 1:48:14Speaker 5: if so, if you listen to just those things, you're
- 1:48:16Speaker 5: just gonna cater to the point one percent and then
- 1:48:19Speaker 5: it's gonna change everything you do.
- 1:48:22Speaker 3: Greatest podcast, don't listen to the noise.
- 1:48:25Speaker 1: Just be your be yourself. Boys.
- 1:48:27Speaker 6: You could also do like a caller daddy and just
- 1:48:28Speaker 6: pivot to talking about trauma.
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I get real deep.
- 1:48:32Speaker 6: With Also, I'd love to hear that.
- 1:48:33Speaker 5: I would say for you guys specifically, like just wait
- 1:48:36Speaker 5: for us to do stuff and then just rip it off.
- 1:48:38Speaker 2: Oh, we'll be out there. I think we're going to
- 1:48:39Speaker 2: three days a week.
- 1:48:40Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, what did he say?
- 1:48:42Speaker 5: Really?
- 1:48:43Speaker 2: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday.
- 1:48:44Speaker 3: That's that's what we're just talking about. A couple of
- 1:48:46Speaker 3: days ago we're gonna do.
