- 0:58Speaker 2: first episode of Austin Rizzo and Filtered. I'm Anthony Rizzo
- 1:02Speaker 2: alongside my patna, David Ross, two time World Series Champion,
- 1:08Speaker 2: one with the Red Sox, one with the Cubbies in
- 1:11Speaker 2: twenty sixteen. We just did our Lovably Reunion podcast where
- 1:14Speaker 2: we told all the stories of our ten year reunion,
- 1:17Speaker 2: and now we are getting into Rossi and I talking
- 1:21Speaker 2: the current game of baseball. We played together for two years.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Rossi was my manager for a year and a half
- 1:28Speaker 2: until he traded me, so he has the perspective of
- 1:31Speaker 2: managerial experience. I have the wanna be a manager slash
- 1:35Speaker 2: GM experience from the player side, So we're gonna be.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Debating about a lot of topics.
- 1:40Speaker 2: We're gonna be able to dissect a lot of topics
- 1:43Speaker 2: from what the managerial hat on and the players had
- 1:45Speaker 2: and hopefully take you viewers inside the clubhouse and what
- 1:49Speaker 2: guys are thinking and tune into all the races. Rossie,
- 1:51Speaker 2: I am absolutely pumped for this. We've been talking about
- 1:54Speaker 2: it for a long time and the Louble Reunion podcast
- 1:57Speaker 2: was amazing, but I'm so excited to be talking to
- 2:00Speaker 2: current state of the game.
- 2:01Speaker 4: It's gonna be great. Bro.
- 2:02Speaker 1: I love working with you and get to see your
- 2:04Speaker 1: face on the regular, so this will be fun.
- 2:06Speaker 4: Man.
- 2:07Speaker 1: You've got we both got so much baseball experience to
- 2:10Speaker 1: give back and being able to talk our great game.
- 2:12Speaker 1: That's that's done a lot for our lives and do
- 2:15Speaker 1: that with a friend that it's nice to work with.
- 2:20Speaker 1: The Levable Reunion was amazing, but this, I think is
- 2:23Speaker 1: going to take it to the next level.
- 2:24Speaker 4: I'm super excited to work with your buddies. This has
- 2:27Speaker 4: been fun.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I mean, I remember when we were
- 2:30Speaker 2: talking about doing the ten year Reunion podcast or show.
- 2:35Speaker 3: It was like, oh, well, let's just do it. See
- 2:36Speaker 3: how we like it.
- 2:37Speaker 2: It'll be therapeutic if anything, and it was turned out
- 2:40Speaker 2: being everything more than anything we could have imagine.
- 2:42Speaker 3: We loved it. I always love talking to Rossie and I.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Throughout my career and even post playing, we always talked
- 2:50Speaker 2: the game of baseball. We've Rossi has such an amazing
- 2:54Speaker 2: light of the game. I think being a catcher and
- 2:56Speaker 2: all the experience he went through being an everyday catcher's
- 3:00Speaker 2: times in a backup catcher, he was able to see
- 3:02Speaker 2: the game in a different lens and he shared that
- 3:04Speaker 2: knowledge with me and taught me so many things. So
- 3:07Speaker 2: all these topics that we're gonna get brought up throughout
- 3:10Speaker 2: you know, this playoff stretch. We're in the dog days
- 3:13Speaker 2: of summer right now. We will get into that later
- 3:16Speaker 2: in the show, but we will be able to break
- 3:18Speaker 2: down and hopefully give you fans and viewers perspective that
- 3:22Speaker 2: maybe you didn't know Rossie. I was on Twitter or
- 3:26Speaker 2: x as we call it the kids call it nowadays,
- 3:29Speaker 2: and there's a twenty years ago nostalgia video going around
- 3:34Speaker 2: of you hitting a walk off home run. We should
- 3:37Speaker 2: get the viewers familiar that you played for the Cincinnati
- 3:40Speaker 2: Reds two thousand and six.
- 3:45Speaker 4: Twenty years already.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Look at the young bug, no beard, a god hair,
- 3:48Speaker 1: Jason Isringhausen, Kristin Norfia, our teammate. Oh my goodness, this
- 3:53Speaker 1: was a h That was a back when I was
- 3:56Speaker 1: like standing straight out. At least call me the wooden
- 3:57Speaker 1: Indian on my teammates give me a hard time. I
- 4:00Speaker 1: just stiff.
- 4:01Speaker 4: Oh I had hair growing it back now, Donner?
- 4:05Speaker 1: Who else we got in there, Royce, Clayton and Carnacion.
- 4:10Speaker 3: We got all kind of guys. Is that that Great
- 4:12Speaker 3: American Ballpark was rocket Huh?
- 4:14Speaker 4: Yeah, well I think they had. I think they had
- 4:18Speaker 4: like dollar hot dog night that night because we were
- 4:21Speaker 4: chasing the.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Cards, so it sold out in like two seconds because
- 4:24Speaker 1: they were giving away cheap hot dogs.
- 4:26Speaker 4: But that was an amazing Now.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I think we were like three or four back from
- 4:29Speaker 1: the Cardinals in the in the division race, and we
- 4:32Speaker 1: had a really good team. And that was my first
- 4:35Speaker 1: walk off i'd ever hit. And I hit it, and
- 4:37Speaker 1: Jimmy Edmons was going back and I'm like, you've seen
- 4:39Speaker 1: his highlights so many times of him robin home runs
- 4:42Speaker 1: are climbing the wall, but it just disappeared and never
- 4:45Speaker 1: came down. I crushed it, and it's one of those
- 4:47Speaker 1: I didn't feel really how good I hit it, And
- 4:49Speaker 1: that was a good feeling.
- 4:50Speaker 4: That was a nice one.
- 4:51Speaker 2: And that was two thousand and six. I believe you
- 4:55Speaker 2: hit twenty pumps that year, twenty plus right, twenty.
- 4:57Speaker 4: One, twenty one. Nice year.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Yeah, that year I believe is the reason that started
- 5:04Speaker 2: your two year deal span because everyone know he can
- 5:06Speaker 2: get back to.
- 5:07Speaker 4: That twenty over form right for sure, for sure.
- 5:10Speaker 1: And my I remember my agent Ryan said, said I
- 5:16Speaker 1: had nineteen going into the last road trip. We were
- 5:18Speaker 1: going Florida, and I think we finished in New York
- 5:21Speaker 1: playing the Mets that year and I went to I
- 5:23Speaker 1: kept kept going nineteen's, not twenty nineteens, not twenty.
- 5:27Speaker 4: My first atration year it's not right. It's not twenty.
- 5:30Speaker 3: So I hit in two ninety nine is not three hundred.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I hit two off Dontrell Willis in in two upper
- 5:37Speaker 1: deckers in and o'marlin Stadium. Some of the first balls
- 5:40Speaker 1: off hit to get me twenty and twenty one. So
- 5:43Speaker 1: I was pumped when when I got twenty.
- 5:44Speaker 4: That was nice.
- 5:46Speaker 3: That's legit.
- 5:47Speaker 4: That's all half for you though, that's all half for you. Yeah,
- 5:50Speaker 4: twenty year.
- 5:50Speaker 2: I was a junior in high school in two thousand
- 5:53Speaker 2: and six, so now we're doing a podcast twenty years later.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Look at us, look at look at us, look at
- 5:58Speaker 1: me hanging around the game.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Before we get going to the show, I want to
- 6:03Speaker 2: invite our viewers to send us in a little mail
- 6:07Speaker 2: bag that can comment on YouTube or send us an
- 6:09Speaker 2: email at Rossinrizzo at gmail dot com for questions you
- 6:13Speaker 2: want to answer it. I think at the end of
- 6:15Speaker 2: our show or somewhere in our show, well we'll go
- 6:17Speaker 2: to the hotline and answer some questions.
- 6:19Speaker 3: So I look forward to that. I always like doing
- 6:21Speaker 3: question and answers with fans. So that's what we pumped.
- 6:24Speaker 2: So everyone comment on YouTube, email us at Rossinrizzo at
- 6:28Speaker 2: gmail dot com.
- 6:29Speaker 3: That's be our mail bag.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Hey, I think we need to call that in honor
- 6:34Speaker 1: of Bussy, we need to call that the ball bag.
- 6:36Speaker 1: I mean, we got a baseball podcast idea.
- 6:39Speaker 4: Yeah, send us your bus.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Our former straight coach explain that spring training every year,
- 6:45Speaker 2: I believe he he started the ball bag daily Ballbag Award,
- 6:50Speaker 2: which means every day in spring training and it rolled
- 6:53Speaker 2: into the season. He would kind of find someone who
- 6:56Speaker 2: did something like a bozo move of the day or
- 7:00Speaker 2: something that was just what are you doing?
- 7:04Speaker 3: What are we doing here?
- 7:05Speaker 1: This is the show they would like find if some
- 7:08Speaker 1: guy posted some some young kid posted something on on
- 7:11Speaker 1: Twitter at the time now x, he would like read
- 7:14Speaker 1: it to the group and like what a like or something.
- 7:17Speaker 4: About a guy parking then the wrong like a veteran
- 7:20Speaker 4: spot or what.
- 7:21Speaker 3: He would always keeping it lighthearted.
- 7:23Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was fun. I was fun. Sen
- 7:26Speaker 4: questions say, instead of the mail bag, we got the
- 7:28Speaker 4: ball bag.
- 7:29Speaker 2: All right, So let's get into a few of the
- 7:31Speaker 2: major headlines in Major League Baseball right now. For me,
- 7:34Speaker 2: the biggest one is the two best teams in baseball
- 7:39Speaker 2: are some of the lowest payroll teams. I know, the
- 7:42Speaker 2: upcoming CBA agreement is a hot topic in sports, all
- 7:46Speaker 2: of sports, not only just baseball, but the ninety million
- 7:50Speaker 2: dollar payroll. Tampa Bay Rays are by far the best
- 7:54Speaker 2: team in the American League right now, and the one
- 7:57Speaker 2: hundred and forty three million dollar Milwaukee Brewers are running
- 8:01Speaker 2: away with the National League. So it's crazy to see,
- 8:05Speaker 2: you know, the Dodgers have a four hundred plus million
- 8:07Speaker 2: dollar payroll. I feel like all of baseball, the sports
- 8:11Speaker 2: world wants the Brewers are raised to save baseball right
- 8:15Speaker 2: with their low payrolls. But it's been impressive what they've
- 8:18Speaker 2: been doing. And it's going to be a fun stretch
- 8:21Speaker 2: to see these teams continue to fight and to continue
- 8:25Speaker 2: to see if they're going to stay the best at
- 8:26Speaker 2: the end of one sixty two.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Yeah, And it always feels like the Dodgers are slow
- 8:30Speaker 1: playing their players right, like they're able to bring class now,
- 8:34Speaker 1: and you know, some of these guys back snell back
- 8:38Speaker 1: on a slower kind of trajectory when they get injured
- 8:42Speaker 1: and kind of play for that September October time of year.
- 8:47Speaker 1: They are scuffling right now and hit it a little
- 8:48Speaker 1: bit of a law here in August.
- 8:50Speaker 4: But I think my.
- 8:52Speaker 3: Perspective, you think they're in trouble, I do.
- 8:55Speaker 4: Wouldn't say in trouble. No. I think they got a
- 8:57Speaker 4: seven out.
- 8:57Speaker 1: They got swept by Arizona, and Arizona's still seven and
- 9:00Speaker 1: a half back, like they've got plenty of plenty of
- 9:03Speaker 1: tie Tani. I think Otani's still going to pitch. You know,
- 9:07Speaker 1: I saw some clips of him throwing yesterday. You know
- 9:10Speaker 1: that knee I think has really affected him in a
- 9:12Speaker 1: lot of ways. But going back to their rays and
- 9:16Speaker 1: the Brewers, it really stands out. I think when you
- 9:20Speaker 1: have your process of how you develop and how you
- 9:23Speaker 1: draft and player development in the minor leagues, and those
- 9:26Speaker 1: guys come up and contributing or or analyzing and finding
- 9:30Speaker 1: the guys that really play your brand of baseball or
- 9:33Speaker 1: we're gonna emphasize, you know, kind of their strengths and
- 9:36Speaker 1: kind of everybody tries to fix guy's weaknesses. And I
- 9:38Speaker 1: feel like Tampa Bay was from the pitching. They just
- 9:40Speaker 1: kind of maximize the strengths of some players and and
- 9:43Speaker 1: kind of let them go out and get better.
- 9:46Speaker 4: Has really worked out for them, and.
- 9:47Speaker 1: The Brewers obviously like they just feels like they haven't
- 9:50Speaker 1: hit everybody hits a law at some point in the season.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Doesn't feel like the Brewers have hit one at all.
- 9:54Speaker 1: They've been so consistent and their player development, their young pitching,
- 9:59Speaker 1: the guy is that all around the infield. I don't
- 10:01Speaker 1: have a lot of time, but yeah, they continue to
- 10:04Speaker 1: put up a lot of w's.
- 10:05Speaker 3: They just keep doing it. The Brewers just keep doing
- 10:08Speaker 3: it year in and year out.
- 10:09Speaker 2: The race too many they have a down year here,
- 10:12Speaker 2: it's oh, They're going to be automatically good next year.
- 10:15Speaker 2: It really frustrates for me. I feel like playing on
- 10:19Speaker 2: a big market. You see some big market teams starting
- 10:22Speaker 2: to operate saying, hey, why can't we be the Rais
- 10:24Speaker 2: or the Brewers and developed that way? And it just
- 10:27Speaker 2: doesn't work that way in big markets. The big markets
- 10:29Speaker 2: come with the bigger, the light shine brighter. It's it's
- 10:32Speaker 2: not as easy to play there. You do not have
- 10:34Speaker 2: as much time to develop in the big league. So
- 10:38Speaker 2: but I do I do. What I love most about
- 10:41Speaker 2: our game right now is it is so competitively balanced.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Their teams are. This is the best it's been since
- 10:48Speaker 2: I've since my time in baseball.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Well, knowing your identity, I think as an organization is
- 10:54Speaker 1: priority number one. How many times have we been you know,
- 10:57Speaker 1: we were together or even you know, and for you know,
- 11:01Speaker 1: you were still playing and I was done. But like Houston,
- 11:04Speaker 1: everybody's like, oh, this is how Houston does it, Let's
- 11:06Speaker 1: do it this way. This is how Tampa Bay does it.
- 11:08Speaker 1: List dory to follow.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Every every couple of years, you have this fad of
- 11:16Speaker 2: a new pitch right right now, it's the kick change up,
- 11:19Speaker 2: or it was when it came out. You know, it's like,
- 11:23Speaker 2: it's just such a fad league, And I mean, really,
- 11:26Speaker 2: you you have to keep up with the Joneses. Honestly,
- 11:28Speaker 2: you're gonna get left in the dust. But another major
- 11:32Speaker 2: headline is schoogl Trek scuober getting trades of the Dodgers,
- 11:35Speaker 2: making his Dodger Stadium debut, the loss of the Cubbies
- 11:39Speaker 2: and their first one. The Cubbies are one of the
- 11:41Speaker 2: hottest teams in baseball right now, but Schooble making his
- 11:44Speaker 2: Dodger Stadium debut gives up three. Probably not to his standards,
- 11:48Speaker 2: because it's a home run to Jack Caglione, which he's having.
- 11:51Speaker 2: He's having a monster year, a cagey. I love his game,
- 11:54Speaker 2: but I think that the Dodgers right now. They are
- 11:59Speaker 2: so good that they're losing what they lose eight out
- 12:03Speaker 2: of ten, and and if I feel like inside that clubhouse,
- 12:07Speaker 2: they're just like, yeah, that's cute. Everyone thinks we're we're
- 12:10Speaker 2: falling off, and they, like you said, they're just getting
- 12:13Speaker 2: guys healthy. They're not playing, they're not pitching Otani because
- 12:18Speaker 2: they just want to get him healthy for the postseason.
- 12:20Speaker 2: So it's the Dodgers, man, they are just they're gonna
- 12:24Speaker 2: be hard to beat.
- 12:24Speaker 3: They are gonna be hard to be in October.
- 12:27Speaker 1: And they're so deep, right like Will Smith's out, Dalton
- 12:31Speaker 1: Rushing is out, you know, he you know, the meniscus thing,
- 12:35Speaker 1: you know, two of their main catchers out and working
- 12:38Speaker 1: some guys back.
- 12:39Speaker 4: But I think they're gonna be fine.
- 12:40Speaker 1: They're they're so deep, you know, they're just offensively scuffling
- 12:44Speaker 1: a little bit right now, and school was gonna be fine.
- 12:46Speaker 1: I watched a little bit of his start last night.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Look like he's just a little bit. He's probably amped up.
- 12:51Speaker 1: First time in Dodger Stadium, jumpy. The fastball is a
- 12:54Speaker 1: little ratic for him. But he'll settle in and and
- 12:58Speaker 1: they're gonna be they're gonna be right when they're supposed
- 12:59Speaker 1: to become into September October, and then it's about who's hot,
- 13:04Speaker 1: as we know, like who's rolling into the postseason with
- 13:07Speaker 1: a little bit of momentum and pitchers, you know, hit
- 13:10Speaker 1: the offense kind of clicking on all cylinders, and a
- 13:13Speaker 1: pitching staff doing their job.
- 13:14Speaker 2: The beautiful part for school is he's coming in there
- 13:17Speaker 2: and it's not like he's coming in there to be
- 13:19Speaker 2: their savior. He's now just another superstar amongst their entire
- 13:24Speaker 2: superstar rosters. So he has even if he gets off
- 13:28Speaker 2: if you're a Dodgers fan and Scoobol does get off
- 13:31Speaker 2: to a rough start his first few addings, as he's
- 13:34Speaker 2: getting comfortable with his new staff, his new teammates, a
- 13:37Speaker 2: new league. You have all the time in the world
- 13:40Speaker 2: with him. Obviously they want to get that first round
- 13:44Speaker 2: by and get that locked up. But if not, they
- 13:47Speaker 2: have the pitching, they have the depth. I mean, it's
- 13:50Speaker 2: it's August eleventh, it's the dog days of summer on
- 13:54Speaker 2: a team that has won back to back World Series titles.
- 13:57Speaker 2: They are going through the motions. I would say, if
- 14:00Speaker 2: you ask them, I would imagine inside of the clubhouts.
- 14:03Speaker 2: They're they're not they're they're grinding every day, they're working
- 14:06Speaker 2: as hard as they can.
- 14:06Speaker 3: But once once in a few weeks, once they could
- 14:09Speaker 3: see the light at the end of the tunnel.
- 14:11Speaker 2: I think this Dodgers team will be clicking on also,
- 14:13Speaker 2: and there's like we've seen the last few year.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Yeah, and then last comment for me on the Dodgers
- 14:19Speaker 1: is it when you're going bad, every team goes through
- 14:22Speaker 1: a stretch where it's just not going well. Like in
- 14:25Speaker 1: that Arizona series, Otani, Freeman and Bets were three for
- 14:30Speaker 1: thirty three and they got swept by the Dodgers, right
- 14:32Speaker 1: Edwin Diaz blew two saves, Like some of these things
- 14:35Speaker 1: aren't gonna happen. Those guys are gonna, they're gonna. You're
- 14:38Speaker 1: gonna go through ups and downs. But when it's going bad,
- 14:41Speaker 1: it's going bad as every team and you can't explain it.
- 14:44Speaker 1: Like look at the Coves who are so hot now
- 14:46Speaker 1: and they lost you know, two ten game losing streaks
- 14:49Speaker 1: out of the season. So everybody kind of goes through
- 14:50Speaker 1: the ups and downs, which is so impressive about you know,
- 14:53Speaker 1: the Milwaukee Brewers, as we were talking just how consistent.
- 14:56Speaker 2: They've been well, I think too. When everyone plays the Dodgers,
- 14:59Speaker 2: you go Dodger Stadium, where the Dodgers come to you,
- 15:01Speaker 2: that's your that circle on the calendar. All the pitchers
- 15:05Speaker 2: are throwing their hardest stuff. Everyone's hyped up, the adrenalins
- 15:08Speaker 2: higher for the opposing team. And when you're on the
- 15:12Speaker 2: big market team like the Dodgers, when I was on
- 15:14Speaker 2: the Yankees of the Cubs, it was you knew you
- 15:16Speaker 2: were getting their best stuff every day. So when you
- 15:19Speaker 2: go through the skin it it gets magnified a little more,
- 15:22Speaker 2: but it's it's all.
- 15:23Speaker 4: Part of the grind, no doubt, no doubt, no doubt.
- 15:28Speaker 3: How about let's talk about it.
- 15:30Speaker 4: We got Yeah, let's talk about the Cubbies a little bit.
- 15:34Speaker 4: And there you go, bro talking about Otani. Wow, I mean,
- 15:40Speaker 4: what a what A done?
- 15:42Speaker 3: That is going to be?
- 15:43Speaker 2: I feel like, and obviously I may be a little
- 15:46Speaker 2: biased in Chicago here, but I feel like what PCA
- 15:50Speaker 2: is doing, man, is just the growth he's made this
- 15:53Speaker 2: year has been insane. He's it Honestly, it's really not
- 15:59Speaker 2: about me, and I don't want to talk about me,
- 16:01Speaker 2: but here we go. What he's doing the adjustments he's
- 16:05Speaker 2: made against lefties this season has been tenfold. He's walking more.
- 16:11Speaker 2: I believe it's helping him face right hand and pitching
- 16:13Speaker 2: as well. I mean, he's made real adjustments. His walk
- 16:16Speaker 2: rate is through the roof compared to what it was.
- 16:18Speaker 2: What was he walking at a three percent clip when
- 16:20Speaker 2: you had him as your as your player, as your
- 16:22Speaker 2: young rookie ross he so.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, he just got a he didn't get He
- 16:26Speaker 1: only got like fourteen at bats for me, so he
- 16:28Speaker 1: was he would we were, we were all grinded at anytime.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Yeah, he's a anytime you could have a anytime you're
- 16:36Speaker 2: on base, can be around eighty to one hundred points
- 16:39Speaker 2: higher than your average. For me, that's where you start
- 16:42Speaker 2: separating the good players to the elite players. And I
- 16:46Speaker 2: mean he's what twoity six, three eight and a five
- 16:48Speaker 2: forty four slug while playing the best center field in
- 16:52Speaker 2: the game.
- 16:52Speaker 3: I mean, it's gonna.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Be maybe the defender in the game, right, Yeah, Yeah,
- 16:57Speaker 1: for sure, I think I think the really you know, obviously,
- 17:01Speaker 1: Pete's got to continue to carry that through the season,
- 17:05Speaker 1: and I don't see any signs of him not being
- 17:07Speaker 1: able to do that.
- 17:08Speaker 4: The trick is.
- 17:09Speaker 1: I think Otani separates himself when it comes to pitching.
- 17:13Speaker 1: He comes back and pitches and is dominant like he
- 17:15Speaker 1: was before the knee started popping up and he stopped
- 17:18Speaker 1: pitching before the All Star break.
- 17:20Speaker 4: I think that's going to be the real separator.
- 17:21Speaker 1: But PCA has had a phenomenal year up to this point,
- 17:26Speaker 1: and what's impressive to me is the adjustments he's made,
- 17:31Speaker 1: Like you're talking about controlling the strike song, but getting
- 17:33Speaker 1: off to a rough start being around those guys in
- 17:35Speaker 1: the WBC, I think God a real impact on him,
- 17:38Speaker 1: and no doubt how those guys were the superstars right
- 17:41Speaker 1: and then going in struggling a little bit and making
- 17:43Speaker 1: some adjustments and then just like putting the guys on
- 17:47Speaker 1: their back. We talk all the time about what successful
- 17:50Speaker 1: teams have, and obviously the Cubs have been really successful.
- 17:55Speaker 1: They had their horses or horses, and PCA has stepped
- 17:58Speaker 1: up and turned himself into an MVP candidate along with
- 18:02Speaker 1: all the great players they have around him. But he
- 18:04Speaker 1: is that horse. I mean, we had Chris Bryant in
- 18:07Speaker 1: twenty sixteen that won the MVP and was a guy
- 18:12Speaker 1: that showed up every single day, and his performance and
- 18:16Speaker 1: his versatility and his base running skills.
- 18:18Speaker 4: I don't think got enough love.
- 18:21Speaker 1: But he was a guy that you two at the
- 18:23Speaker 1: top of our order, really performed day in and day out,
- 18:28Speaker 1: and that just eats the consistency and the winning and
- 18:30Speaker 1: builds the confidence of the group.
- 18:32Speaker 3: No doubt.
- 18:32Speaker 2: I mean, for me, right now, he is the MVP
- 18:35Speaker 2: of the National League. I think that what he's done
- 18:37Speaker 2: this year. Otani has been banged up, He's not hitting
- 18:40Speaker 2: as good as he is, but I know, I know,
- 18:42Speaker 2: the pitch hitting is just what Otani has been doing
- 18:46Speaker 2: is unheard of. But again, in this game, I feel
- 18:49Speaker 2: like we just kind of get bored of the superstars,
- 18:51Speaker 2: the boring players, and for sure.
- 18:52Speaker 3: You know Pa now.
- 18:54Speaker 2: I mean, for me, what I'm impressed most by is
- 18:57Speaker 2: his adjustment off lefties and being around the team a
- 19:01Speaker 2: little bit more talking to him, a little bit more,
- 19:05Speaker 2: talking to John Mayley, their hitting coach, their assistant hitting
- 19:07Speaker 2: coach in Chicago, just the adjustments and talking to Pete
- 19:11Speaker 2: about hey approach and why he always asked me why
- 19:14Speaker 2: I sit so close to the plate, and how to
- 19:16Speaker 2: to take pitches and the reason you take pitches.
- 19:19Speaker 3: So he I was so impressed.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Of him, all the questions that he asked me and
- 19:23Speaker 2: all the right questions, and then seeing him in game
- 19:27Speaker 2: and being up close seeing him take his approach into
- 19:31Speaker 2: the game, and over the last few months watching him
- 19:34Speaker 2: continue to just grow confidence in his approach. You literally
- 19:38Speaker 2: see him blossoming. You literally, I see the development right
- 19:42Speaker 2: in front of my eyes. It's crazy to see.
- 19:45Speaker 1: He's the most exciting player in the game. For me,
- 19:47Speaker 1: it's like must watch TV when he's on field.
- 19:49Speaker 2: So yeah, I mean with you, he's yeah, he he
- 19:53Speaker 2: and he loves the smoke.
- 19:54Speaker 3: He loves he wants all of it.
- 19:56Speaker 4: He loves.
- 19:59Speaker 2: The Cubs right now are one of the hottest teams
- 20:02Speaker 2: in Baby, I mean Cubs in the National League, Red
- 20:03Speaker 2: Sox in the American League. If if you're Cubs fan,
- 20:07Speaker 2: this week summertimes Chicago Cubs, Cardinals, this weekend, you have
- 20:13Speaker 2: the Aaron Water Show this weekend. You have David Ross
- 20:16Speaker 2: calling the game on Saturday on ESPN this weekend, and
- 20:20Speaker 2: then you have.
- 20:21Speaker 1: Roll right Sunday Sunday, ABC Sunday Sunday ABC Sunday.
- 20:25Speaker 2: And then you roll right into the White Sox at
- 20:30Speaker 2: Wrigley where all the drama coming off you know sm
- 20:36Speaker 2: I d from Pete to the fans, so that the
- 20:41Speaker 2: White Sox are really good. That rivalry is going to
- 20:44Speaker 2: be get your popcorn for that. That's going to be
- 20:47Speaker 2: must watch. So this is the if you're in Chicago
- 20:51Speaker 2: baseball fan, Cubs fan, this is the mecca of the schedule.
- 20:54Speaker 2: In my opinion, It's a dog days of summer. It's
- 20:57Speaker 2: August falls kind of right around the corner. I know
- 21:00Speaker 2: we don't talk about that in Chicago, but enjoy this
- 21:03Speaker 2: upcoming week. I know for me, I can't wait to
- 21:05Speaker 2: watch that series against the Cardinals and even more excited
- 21:08Speaker 2: for next week's series against the White Sox.
- 21:11Speaker 4: Sure to a goot. Time to be in Chicago, that's
- 21:13Speaker 4: for sure.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Yeah, you're gonna boat. You're gonna get on a boat
- 21:16Speaker 3: this weekend.
- 21:18Speaker 4: I got it.
- 21:19Speaker 1: I got my little ones, got a little volleyball tournament.
- 21:22Speaker 1: So I'm getting in late Saturday, Sunday, maybe Sunday after
- 21:25Speaker 1: the game late and then I'm back back home being
- 21:28Speaker 1: dad on Monday.
- 21:29Speaker 4: What else we got here?
- 21:30Speaker 3: Another another?
- 21:32Speaker 4: I want to go ahead.
- 21:34Speaker 2: I like Philadelphia Phillies. Yes, Kyle Schureberg, Philadelphia Phillies, Right,
- 21:41Speaker 2: Bryce Harper, another stud Bryce Harper at the deadline basically
- 21:47Speaker 2: said to Dave Dombrowski and the organization, Hey, we need help.
- 21:50Speaker 2: We think we deserve help, which is controversial in the clubhouse, right, Rossie,
- 21:56Speaker 2: I mean you managed. Don Mattingly's response was a head
- 22:00Speaker 2: scratcher for me being a player. But they go out
- 22:04Speaker 2: and get help, they all get Luis their eyes, and
- 22:07Speaker 2: he's really gonna I feel like turn that that lineup
- 22:10Speaker 2: and just make it a lot deeper with a lot
- 22:13Speaker 2: more room for error.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Throughout that lineup now, but you got to build on
- 22:17Speaker 1: your strengths, right, Like. I think the tricky part is
- 22:19Speaker 1: there's a lot of moving parts. I think there's like
- 22:21Speaker 1: four guys switching position. Credit to Bryce Harper, your highest
- 22:25Speaker 1: paid player, your face of the franchise, him and Schwarber
- 22:29Speaker 1: being able to win, willing to move positions to accommodate,
- 22:33Speaker 1: you know, some of the moving parts, and then what
- 22:34Speaker 1: they're picking up. So I think that's a pro move.
- 22:36Speaker 1: I'm with you on the Mattingly stuff like that whole
- 22:39Speaker 1: thing is just kind of handled a little bit weird.
- 22:41Speaker 1: I think you're when you're in the playoff hunt as
- 22:43Speaker 1: a player, you're expecting help, you know, I don't think
- 22:46Speaker 1: it's any offense to two guys that are there, or
- 22:50Speaker 1: you're just thinking like, hey, we can't improve in some areas,
- 22:54Speaker 1: and that's the front office's job, and they actually should
- 22:57Speaker 1: take a lot of pride in that because they don't.
- 22:59Speaker 1: They don't have any impact really in season up to
- 23:03Speaker 1: that point, like major impact. So but yeah, I think
- 23:06Speaker 1: from a managerial standpoint, Don Scott has got his hands full.
- 23:10Speaker 4: He's moving. I think Ball moved.
- 23:12Speaker 1: From third to first, to Rise goes to second, Stott
- 23:15Speaker 1: goes to third, and Harper to write. So I mean
- 23:18Speaker 1: we've got all kind of moving parts, and you got
- 23:21Speaker 1: guys going to probably put in some extra work defensively
- 23:24Speaker 1: in August, which is always a little bit tricky. But
- 23:26Speaker 1: their identity has been offense this this entire year, pitching
- 23:29Speaker 1: an offense, so defense was never a strong suit for
- 23:32Speaker 1: them this year. And I think they've got the pieces,
- 23:36Speaker 1: seem to be off to a good start since a
- 23:38Speaker 1: trade deadline.
- 23:39Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, all right, Rossie, let's take you back.
- 23:42Speaker 2: I want you to put your player hat on. It's two,
- 23:45Speaker 2: all right, fifteen, No, it's twenty sixteen. We have expectations
- 23:49Speaker 2: to win the World Series at the trade deadline. I
- 23:52Speaker 2: go out in the media and say, we need help.
- 23:55Speaker 2: What are you saying to me as my veteran on
- 23:58Speaker 2: that team.
- 24:00Speaker 1: I just think there's like better ways to phrase that,
- 24:03Speaker 1: Like it'd be great if they added somewhere, but we
- 24:05Speaker 1: leave that up to the front office, you know, like
- 24:07Speaker 1: that's their job now. Now they're in their season and
- 24:10Speaker 1: and you know, I think front offices have a lot
- 24:14Speaker 1: on their plate when it comes to how many guys
- 24:16Speaker 1: are coming or trades or moving pieces, and who are
- 24:19Speaker 1: prospects they believe in, who are who they're willing to
- 24:22Speaker 1: trade or they're not willing to trade the future. You know,
- 24:24Speaker 1: we go into looking back on sixteen and theo Epstein
- 24:28Speaker 1: had so much belief in us he gave up Labor
- 24:30Speaker 1: Torrez for Erodist Chatman. Yes, if I say that, right, yeah, yeah,
- 24:37Speaker 1: you're you're you're smashing on Ron Dolan and Strophie and
- 24:40Speaker 1: all those guys for sure. I think the one thing
- 24:42Speaker 1: I would say to a veteran player is or to
- 24:45Speaker 1: a player like you, is just like, hey, man, like
- 24:48Speaker 1: if somebody asked you, I was, I was, like, I
- 24:50Speaker 1: believe in every guy in this room, Like we're we're
- 24:52Speaker 1: the best team in baseball right now, and if the
- 24:55Speaker 1: if the front office feels like they can upgrade in
- 24:58Speaker 1: some spot, that's awesome.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I love it. I actually loved it.
- 25:03Speaker 3: I understood.
- 25:05Speaker 2: I don't think Bryce was throwing any shade at any
- 25:07Speaker 2: individual players on his team, but look, I mean, him
- 25:12Speaker 2: and Dombrowski seemed from afar, seemed to have a little
- 25:15Speaker 2: bit of a little beef honestly, right seven from last
- 25:19Speaker 2: year saying he's not elite anymore, and that got dragged
- 25:22Speaker 2: into the media a little bit. And then Bryce wearing
- 25:25Speaker 2: the shirt in the off season and just Bryce wants
- 25:28Speaker 2: to win, man like his He's done everything, He's won MVP,
- 25:31Speaker 2: he's an All Star, he's hit tons of homers, he's
- 25:34Speaker 2: made a ton of money. Hit The last thing on
- 25:36Speaker 2: his checklist of baseball conscious is winning a World Series, right, So.
- 25:43Speaker 3: I love it.
- 25:44Speaker 2: And then on the other end, that on Donnie's part,
- 25:48Speaker 2: the way that he answered it, I remember, just sitting
- 25:51Speaker 2: there watching, I was scratching my head. I'm like, that's
- 25:55Speaker 2: not how you protect your superstar player by any means.
- 25:57Speaker 2: And I mean, Donnie's son is the GM, so maybe
- 26:04Speaker 2: he's protecting the general manager but his response. I mean
- 26:08Speaker 2: as a player, if you said that about me or else,
- 26:10Speaker 2: as my manager, I would be in your office right
- 26:12Speaker 2: away saying what the what are you saying?
- 26:15Speaker 4: Sure, sure, saying yeah, I saw Donnie's comments. It was
- 26:19Speaker 4: a little bit. It's a little yeah.
- 26:21Speaker 1: I felt the same way as like, wait, that was
- 26:23Speaker 1: the That was the worst way to handle that, you know.
- 26:25Speaker 2: Yeah, It's like you could say, I like what he
- 26:28Speaker 2: said about he's not going to comment on guys, because
- 26:30Speaker 2: if he does, some guys gets in their job right.
- 26:33Speaker 3: You can sensitive that as a big leader.
- 26:35Speaker 2: But the way he started it with like just calling
- 26:37Speaker 2: out Bryce saying, oh well, Bryce seems to be into it.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Every player is a GM come the trade deadline, every
- 26:45Speaker 2: single one of them. Hey, even on other teams off,
- 26:48Speaker 2: imagine if this team gets that right, you're just you
- 26:51Speaker 2: talk about it. You know what's coming. It's not we're
- 26:54Speaker 2: not naive to it.
- 26:55Speaker 1: But sure, well, and if you the thing about managing
- 27:00Speaker 1: is you've got two sides. You've got your player side
- 27:02Speaker 1: that you here all the time, and then in your
- 27:04Speaker 1: office there's like front office, and they may be bitching
- 27:06Speaker 1: about something or something that's not going right in trade talks,
- 27:09Speaker 1: or whatever, so like he could have just gotten out
- 27:12Speaker 1: of that meeting or trying to stand up for those
- 27:14Speaker 1: guys knowing they're working hard and not working out and
- 27:17Speaker 1: not being able to make the moves they want to make,
- 27:19Speaker 1: or you know, but I'm with you the wording that
- 27:21Speaker 1: he used and how he could have went straight into
- 27:23Speaker 1: like you know, every play everybody plays GM right now,
- 27:26Speaker 1: and every every player wants the best guy on the market.
- 27:29Speaker 1: There's not one team out there that didn't want Trek Scuball.
- 27:33Speaker 1: You know, every team wanted him. But is that realistic
- 27:36Speaker 1: and is that a knock on anybody else in the staff. No,
- 27:38Speaker 1: It's just like, we want the best player possible to
- 27:41Speaker 1: help us win a World Series, and that's how we're wired.
- 27:44Speaker 1: And I don't know that every front office and every
- 27:46Speaker 1: organization is thinking about winning the World Series every single year.
- 27:50Speaker 1: I think, you know, they kind of hedge their hedge
- 27:52Speaker 1: their vets a little bit.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, honestly, what the Phillies there getting arise
- 27:57Speaker 2: is its lengthened their lineup. And then the Cubs too,
- 28:00Speaker 2: bro like them going and getting Gausman and Clay Holmes
- 28:04Speaker 2: and then the dude in the bullpen who throws one
- 28:07Speaker 2: hundred and five. I mean, they've really they the Cubs
- 28:11Speaker 2: had the best deadline I've seen them.
- 28:15Speaker 3: Having a long time.
- 28:16Speaker 2: I was joking with some friends and I don't know
- 28:18Speaker 2: if Cubs fans are gonna like like this, but.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Did Bruce Levine save the Cub season by sending out
- 28:24Speaker 3: his tweet? I mean, j jed jed oh.
- 28:29Speaker 2: They mean it was almost uncharacteristic of the moves they made,
- 28:32Speaker 2: and I'm so happy as a fan watching it's it's
- 28:35Speaker 2: gonna be fun to watch the Cubs down in the stretcher.
- 28:39Speaker 4: Yeah, Wrigley's rocking.
- 28:41Speaker 1: They needed pitching, and they went out and got two
- 28:44Speaker 1: really good, good starters and some bullpen help.
- 28:46Speaker 4: I think.
- 28:46Speaker 1: I think also like the underlying stuff when you go
- 28:49Speaker 1: into that, you know you've got Colin Ray, Javier Sad
- 28:53Speaker 1: going to the bullpen, which gives you a lot of
- 28:55Speaker 1: depth for those games and might get out of hand
- 28:56Speaker 1: or some real link down there from those guys. So
- 28:59Speaker 1: it just deepened your whole staff and coming back becoming yeah,
- 29:03Speaker 1: carere yeah and uh and closer plenty. Yeah, boy's been locked.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Yeah plenty. That's the one they need to bro.
- 29:13Speaker 3: They have, they have legit.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Matt Boyd since coming back Matt Boyd since coming back
- 29:18Speaker 1: from there, is il Stent has been lights out. He's
- 29:21Speaker 1: I feel like he's he's kind of Harry the group.
- 29:24Speaker 1: And Colin Ray doesn't get enough love for the Cubs
- 29:27Speaker 1: because he kept that ship steady when everybody was hurt,
- 29:30Speaker 1: and he kept posting and kept them in a lot
- 29:32Speaker 1: of games. Uh, he's not going to wow you, but
- 29:35Speaker 1: I feel like he's one of the best competitors that have.
- 29:37Speaker 2: If you asked me four or five weeks ago, even
- 29:40Speaker 2: really before the deadline, if the Cubs how a legitimate
- 29:44Speaker 2: chance of winning the World Series, I would have said no.
- 29:47Speaker 2: I mean, they're a good team, but they're pitching just
- 29:50Speaker 2: wasn't deep enough in my opinion, to win a seven
- 29:53Speaker 2: game series at the end of the season. And it's
- 29:56Speaker 2: credit to Jed in the front office to going out
- 30:00Speaker 2: and identifying their needs and not just getting one guy.
- 30:03Speaker 2: They injected a new life into that clubhouse. And that
- 30:07Speaker 2: feeling of getting dudes traded over, I mean, that's belief.
- 30:13Speaker 2: That's belief in the offense, that's belief in the defense.
- 30:16Speaker 2: I mean, the defense is the best in the game.
- 30:18Speaker 2: It's one of the best defenses I think to ever
- 30:20Speaker 2: play the game. They are so good and then they
- 30:22Speaker 2: go out and get two nasty sinker ball pitchers. Gosman
- 30:26Speaker 2: is nasty and he's proven in the playoffs. Clay Holmes
- 30:29Speaker 2: is nasty and healthy. I mean, you have boys.
- 30:35Speaker 1: I was around Clay Holmes in WBC and that I
- 30:38Speaker 1: mean when he's right, he is filthy. He's a big human.
- 30:41Speaker 1: You've been around you, you play with him?
- 30:43Speaker 4: Right?
- 30:43Speaker 3: Yeah? I love massive big.
- 30:47Speaker 1: I thought I thought Judge was big, but he's a big,
- 30:51Speaker 1: big dude.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Mannas gonna love Chicago. I've told him all the time
- 30:55Speaker 2: he would love Chicago. So I'm happy for him and
- 30:57Speaker 2: his wife that they got traded over there for him
- 31:00Speaker 2: to showcase again on another big, big market. He Yankees, Mets,
- 31:05Speaker 2: now the Cups. He's played in the highest level. He's
- 31:07Speaker 2: closed in the highest level situation. So I mean, bro,
- 31:10Speaker 2: They're then stacked up in a in a seven game series.
- 31:13Speaker 2: Now they're they're gonna be hard to beat. In my
- 31:16Speaker 2: Their their offense is so well constructed, their their lineup
- 31:20Speaker 2: construction that they just grind man and they win. And
- 31:25Speaker 2: I don't think anyone on the team is too flashy
- 31:27Speaker 2: even PCA with everything he's doing. It's not like he's
- 31:30Speaker 2: the flashy player. He's just there are a bunch of grinders. Man.
- 31:33Speaker 3: I love this team right now?
- 31:35Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, for sure. Well enough love for the cubbies.
- 31:38Speaker 1: Let's get to our sponsors who help us have this
- 31:42Speaker 1: amazing show. Corona sponsored PLA of the Week now that
- 31:48Speaker 1: in our terms is playa. But we want to say
- 31:53Speaker 1: if they ply A of the week for the most
- 31:57Speaker 1: outstanding players, uh this week and we're kind of highighlighting
- 32:00Speaker 1: will you're a bray you for the Boston Red Sox.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Absolute animal. He's been going off all year. He started
- 32:07Speaker 1: in WBC for Venezuela and actually has been carrying this
- 32:12Speaker 1: Red Sox offense along with a lot of our buddies.
- 32:15Speaker 1: But he's had a phenomenal week. He plays an amazing
- 32:18Speaker 1: right field. Three home home runs this week. Nine RBIs
- 32:24Speaker 1: just you know, in that Red Sox deep lineup, he's
- 32:28Speaker 1: been a staple at the top and you know, just
- 32:31Speaker 1: got to highlight him for our PLIA of the.
- 32:32Speaker 3: Week, PLI of the Week. I'll tell you what.
- 32:35Speaker 2: I'm in Nantucket right now, a little vacation and I've
- 32:38Speaker 2: had about probably ten to twenty coronas a day if
- 32:43Speaker 2: you do the math.
- 32:44Speaker 3: There been here for a week.
- 32:46Speaker 2: What a special ireland here in Nantucket, Massachusetts talking about
- 32:51Speaker 2: the Red Sox are player ply of the week. So
- 32:55Speaker 2: but yeah, well he's been amazing man. And his defense
- 32:59Speaker 2: is just the city is an absolute cannon. Their defensive
- 33:04Speaker 2: alignment in Femway is incredible. He plays shallow right where
- 33:10Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm I'm this This Red Sox team, man,
- 33:12Speaker 2: they are fun to watch it. Their turnaround is there's
- 33:17Speaker 2: just there's no way anyone saw this coming.
- 33:20Speaker 1: ROSSI no, no, And we were there, uh doing that
- 33:24Speaker 1: that Yankee series, both of us for ESPN and and NBC,
- 33:29Speaker 1: and like it felt like they were dead and they
- 33:32Speaker 1: got swept. The Yankees got hot and they have been rolling.
- 33:35Speaker 1: He has been a big part of it. Wilson Catreres.
- 33:38Speaker 1: You know they up and down.
- 33:40Speaker 4: Well, hey, talking about Braid going.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Out and getting adlete Rushman, we're talking about the Red
- 33:45Speaker 1: Sox having needs. Uh Yankees needed a catcher they got nobody. Uh,
- 33:50Speaker 1: Tampa Bay upbraided at the catcher position. You know, they've
- 33:56Speaker 1: we're talking about moves. Craig Buzzer went out and the
- 34:00Speaker 1: need for their team and went out and filled it
- 34:03Speaker 1: with an apparently giving away some really good prospects. So
- 34:07Speaker 1: the Red Sox are real. I think they're coming to
- 34:08Speaker 1: and Adley's not even there yet. I think he's actually
- 34:11Speaker 1: scheduled to be today or tomorrow be activated. So next
- 34:15Speaker 1: time we gop on here, well talk talk how he's
- 34:18Speaker 1: been playing for them and how that moves working out.
- 34:21Speaker 3: Been another big move.
- 34:22Speaker 2: And then obviously Addley being familiar with the Al East
- 34:25Speaker 2: and knowing the gauntlet that it takes to win in
- 34:27Speaker 2: the Al East when he got called up with the Orioles,
- 34:30Speaker 2: he basically the timeline he got called up, they started
- 34:34Speaker 2: winning a ton of games, and I know the last
- 34:36Speaker 2: year and a half hasn't gone according to their their.
- 34:39Speaker 3: Projections and plans.
- 34:40Speaker 2: But him coming over to the Red Sox, letting him
- 34:43Speaker 2: get acclimated, I'm sure it'll take him a little bit.
- 34:45Speaker 2: Hopefully he gets right into it and makes the race
- 34:48Speaker 2: that much more exciting. But man, what Wilson conceris is
- 34:53Speaker 2: doing with their pitchers to him, They got the characters right,
- 34:56Speaker 2: They got totally the big the big Left. He's a
- 35:00Speaker 2: character that seems like fans in Boston just absolutely love
- 35:04Speaker 2: love him for me.
- 35:07Speaker 1: You can talk about to change his scenery a little
- 35:09Speaker 1: bit like going from a place she loved in Chicago,
- 35:12Speaker 1: but going getting traded to New York who was in
- 35:15Speaker 1: the race, Like talk about that, like a change of
- 35:18Speaker 1: scenery and getting back into that competitive Nature's gotta be no, no,
- 35:22Speaker 1: super exhilarating.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Yeah, these guys are the Rays, obviously are the Rays.
- 35:28Speaker 2: And they're just gonna play their brand of baseball that
- 35:30Speaker 2: they play, and they're gonna always pitch. They're always gonna
- 35:33Speaker 2: be fundamentally sound. Kevin Cash does an amazing job managing
- 35:37Speaker 2: what he has there, and they're always good. Now, the
- 35:40Speaker 2: Yankees are the Yankees, and they're always going to be
- 35:44Speaker 2: usually the favorites in the Al East and the Red
- 35:46Speaker 2: Sox this year, with the way this season has gone,
- 35:50Speaker 2: they go on this massive street. They sweep the Yankees,
- 35:53Speaker 2: They get embarrassed to the Rockies a few weeks ago.
- 35:57Speaker 2: They come into the Yankees series at home and they
- 35:58Speaker 2: end up souping the Yankees a four game set, a
- 36:01Speaker 2: couple of national television games, and that springboard of them
- 36:04Speaker 2: to a fifteen game win streak, and then they lose,
- 36:08Speaker 2: and then they go on to win more, and now
- 36:10Speaker 2: post All Star Break they're winning. They've won. I think
- 36:13Speaker 2: they had the best record post All Star break, right,
- 36:15Speaker 2: So this team is real and they had the emotional streak.
- 36:19Speaker 2: And usually after emotional streaks. You saw with the Cubs
- 36:22Speaker 2: over this year when they streaked and won ten games
- 36:25Speaker 2: in a row, then they lost ten games in a
- 36:26Speaker 2: row and they won ten. It's like when you're on
- 36:28Speaker 2: teams that are really good for me, ROSSI and you manage.
- 36:32Speaker 2: So maybe you're different. But looking back now from all
- 36:36Speaker 2: the years I played, I'd rather go ten and two
- 36:41Speaker 2: over the course of twenty thirty forty games or ten
- 36:45Speaker 2: and three then win ten twelve in a row. Because
- 36:48Speaker 2: you win that many games in a row, it starts
- 36:50Speaker 2: getting too emotional and you're playing at such an high
- 36:53Speaker 2: emotional level that you can't sustain that emotional level for
- 36:57Speaker 2: the rest of the season. So I feel like it's
- 37:00Speaker 2: almost good to lose a game here and there and
- 37:01Speaker 2: then just keep going and keep trekking.
- 37:04Speaker 1: Yeah, it's all about the momentum and and and they've
- 37:07Speaker 1: been getting The Red Sox had great starting pitching, but
- 37:09Speaker 1: they definitely came together. Uh you know, I think a
- 37:12Speaker 1: little bit with the They've got five Venezuelan players on
- 37:16Speaker 1: the team, and all that stuff was going on in
- 37:18Speaker 1: Venezuela with the earthquake and just some some crazy stuff
- 37:21Speaker 1: in the government over there. So those guys, Wilson and
- 37:24Speaker 1: Will you're you know, they've got a number of guys
- 37:27Speaker 1: that you could feel that it was way heavy on
- 37:30Speaker 1: them when we were there, and then you know, it
- 37:33Speaker 1: feels like they've kind of come together in a great way.
- 37:35Speaker 1: And then they go and get as fun to watch,
- 37:38Speaker 1: you know, fun to watch, he added, he added a
- 37:41Speaker 1: great piece.
- 37:42Speaker 4: So the Yankees, for.
- 37:43Speaker 3: Craig, get the deadline right.
- 37:46Speaker 2: The Yankees didn't go and make massive moves upgrade their bullpen.
- 37:50Speaker 2: I know they got some hitters, but I feel like,
- 37:52Speaker 2: as a Red Sox, you just sent a good you're dangerous,
- 37:54Speaker 2: you're playing with house money. It's a it's a younger team.
- 37:57Speaker 2: Guys are getting a runway. Caleb Durbin has completely anchored
- 38:01Speaker 2: that lineup as well with him and Wilson. So I mean,
- 38:04Speaker 2: that's gonna be a fun stretch here down the stret.
- 38:06Speaker 1: You know, it's crazy they don't have Roman Anthony healthy.
- 38:10Speaker 1: If he's a too or crochet like this I hadn't.
- 38:16Speaker 1: I don't know the update on Crochet, but I know
- 38:21Speaker 1: Roman Anthony's rehabbing and you know they're hoping to get
- 38:25Speaker 1: him back.
- 38:25Speaker 4: I don't know if that's that's possible, but that's that's
- 38:29Speaker 4: an exciting two players that all of a sudden.
- 38:32Speaker 1: You add those two guys to the roster and get
- 38:35Speaker 1: into the postseason like that's a dangerous dangers. Neutrapole is

- 40:44Speaker 1: and the Red Sox pitching. Peyton Totley six innings, two hits,
- 40:48Speaker 1: fourteen k's on Friday Night from the Red Sox.
- 40:51Speaker 4: Like this guy.
- 40:52Speaker 2: I love Beast, I love im saying I've been getting
- 40:56Speaker 2: targeted on his his content that he's been just his
- 41:00Speaker 2: postgame interviews and bro, he is just a genuine guy
- 41:04Speaker 2: that I feel like fans can gravitate to.
- 41:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like he's the guy you want to
- 41:11Speaker 1: throw a couple of beers back with, you know what
- 41:13Speaker 1: I mean? You want to sit around and and pound
- 41:16Speaker 1: some some coronas with that guy. He's talking about players, players,
- 41:21Speaker 1: He's one of those.
- 41:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:22Speaker 1: The miz has been delan, the mizs been locked in.
- 41:27Speaker 2: Yeah, every day time he pitches, and I just saw
- 41:29Speaker 2: that they're going to now try to pitch him every Sunday.
- 41:33Speaker 2: Just kind of load management here down this stretch. But bro,
- 41:38Speaker 2: fastest player in MLB history to reach two hundred strikeouts.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Second fastest, second second fast crazy, it's crazy.
- 41:47Speaker 2: I mean, he's he in my opinion, he has the
- 41:49Speaker 2: sign young locked up right. Obviously, he's got to stay
- 41:52Speaker 2: healthy here down the stretch, and hopefully he does, because
- 41:55Speaker 2: it's you want to see this guy in the playoffs.
- 41:58Speaker 2: You want to see him on the biggest stage throwing
- 42:00Speaker 2: one hundred and five. Him versus PCA in the NLCS
- 42:07Speaker 2: this year. Hopefully I'm manifesting that and PCA takes them deep, hopefully,
- 42:11Speaker 2: or or Happer and I got Happer or Nico right.
- 42:13Speaker 4: But.
- 42:16Speaker 2: Man, Bro, he just keeps doing it. One hundred and five,
- 42:19Speaker 2: one hundred and five, one hundred. It's not a it's
- 42:21Speaker 2: not ninety nine, it's not ninety eight. He's change up
- 42:23Speaker 2: is ninety eight? Rossie, what are we doing?
- 42:25Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 42:25Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's why I'm sitting here. We're talking to you, Bro,
- 42:29Speaker 1: he's really good.
- 42:30Speaker 3: And the other end go ahead, yeah they oh, they're there.
- 42:35Speaker 2: And you have Schlitzler for the Yankees, who is just dominating.
- 42:39Speaker 3: Bro.
- 42:39Speaker 2: He's he's tall, he's got the extension, he's got he's
- 42:44Speaker 2: got that chip on his shoulder that just for me
- 42:47Speaker 2: is like, this is who I.
- 42:48Speaker 3: Want in a big game.
- 42:50Speaker 2: I feel like maybe he scuffles every once in a
- 42:52Speaker 2: while and then he comes back and just.
- 42:53Speaker 3: Says, fuck you, I'm the best picture, yeah for sure,
- 42:56Speaker 3: and just dominates.
- 42:58Speaker 1: He things like that guy you don't want to piss
- 43:00Speaker 1: off and take his focus to the next level. What's
- 43:03Speaker 1: impressive to me about him is like, if there is
- 43:05Speaker 1: a guy you would love to catch, it's just all
- 43:07Speaker 1: hard right, cutter sink or four team pretty much, you know,
- 43:11Speaker 1: is eighty percent of his pitches and just just coming
- 43:14Speaker 1: right at you and going hard.
- 43:16Speaker 4: It seems like a lot of fun.
- 43:17Speaker 1: I think he's you know, Dylan Ceeze is having a
- 43:19Speaker 1: great year and leading the league in strikeouts, but and
- 43:23Speaker 1: with you know, he was on the IL.
- 43:25Speaker 4: I think for a couple of weeks.
- 43:27Speaker 1: But I think cam in New York is my favorite
- 43:31Speaker 1: for the cy young in the American League.
- 43:32Speaker 4: He's been impressive.
- 43:34Speaker 2: I would have to say so too, right, because it
- 43:36Speaker 2: has to I know, I know a lot of the
- 43:38Speaker 2: time it goes it doesn't go off wins and losses
- 43:42Speaker 2: in your team. But the Yankees are right in the
- 43:44Speaker 2: thick of winning the division. They're gonna make the playoffs,
- 43:48Speaker 2: where the Blue Jays this year have falling off and
- 43:52Speaker 2: are kind of in a downward spot.
- 43:53Speaker 4: So think about this.
- 43:55Speaker 1: I mean, let's like we talk about there's been so
- 43:58Speaker 1: many great pitchers and some veteran guys like Schooble that
- 44:00Speaker 1: have been around, but Peyton Totley, Jacob Azarowski and Cam Schlittler,
- 44:06Speaker 1: all three of these pitchers are in their rookie or second.
- 44:09Speaker 4: Year and dominating the league.
- 44:11Speaker 1: Like, there's a lot that we talk about and the
- 44:15Speaker 1: league talks about about how pitching development is is going
- 44:18Speaker 1: the wrong way, and I don't know how anybody can
- 44:21Speaker 1: say that with Obviously there's some injuries that I think
- 44:24Speaker 1: that we've got to figure out, but the way they're
- 44:26Speaker 1: developing pitching right now, the stuff's getting better. They're getting
- 44:30Speaker 1: in the zone. I know it's a little erratic, but
- 44:32Speaker 1: they're setting up with this elite stuff. It's not the
- 44:34Speaker 1: way I was came up with guys on the edges
- 44:37Speaker 1: and sinker slider type stuff.
- 44:38Speaker 4: But it's real power stuff.
- 44:40Speaker 1: And you know, from the three guys we talked about,
- 44:42Speaker 1: it's pretty impressive that what the run they're on at
- 44:46Speaker 1: their age right now.
- 44:48Speaker 2: Bro, it's insane. These these dudes. Everyone always asks me,
- 44:52Speaker 2: right now, oh do you miss it? Or is the
- 44:53Speaker 2: game easier? I'm like, no, I go I watched I
- 44:57Speaker 2: watch these teams and Brewers had guys rolling out there
- 45:00Speaker 2: all Their average fastball is one hundred miles an hour
- 45:03Speaker 2: in a game this year. What the game? The picture,
- 45:08Speaker 2: the development is better than ever. The information that these
- 45:10Speaker 2: guys are getting is better than ever. And I think
- 45:14Speaker 2: it's only going to get harder to hit in this league.
- 45:17Speaker 2: I mean, these pictures once they can, which they're never
- 45:22Speaker 2: going to figure out how to solve the chess piece
- 45:24Speaker 2: of thrown to hitters because we always say pictures, you know,
- 45:27Speaker 2: we give them, We don't ever give them that much credit.
- 45:30Speaker 2: But bro, the development of these guys, you got to
- 45:33Speaker 2: give credit to all these pitchers for diving deeper into
- 45:38Speaker 2: their development, diving deeper into their mechanics, going to the
- 45:42Speaker 2: drive lines or all these other places. And then the
- 45:45Speaker 2: organizations as well catching up and hiring these guys internally,
- 45:49Speaker 2: hiring these guys to literally go in slow motion and
- 45:54Speaker 2: see how you release the ball and saying, hey, you
- 45:58Speaker 2: release the ball like this, If you move the seams
- 46:01Speaker 2: a little bit, your ball should probably start doing this
- 46:04Speaker 2: more right, and.
- 46:04Speaker 4: Its seams shifting.
- 46:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it's the science behind it was is absolutely insane,
- 46:11Speaker 2: and I do believe that's maybe why you're seeing a
- 46:14Speaker 2: little bit more injuries right now, because guys are continuing
- 46:18Speaker 2: to try to throw new pitches. And when you try
- 46:21Speaker 2: to throw a new pitch, if you're a young player
- 46:22Speaker 2: and you're just experimenting throwing new pitches, it takes time
- 46:27Speaker 2: for your muscles to adapt to that. So you can
- 46:29Speaker 2: get away with being young and dehydrated or or whatnot,
- 46:35Speaker 2: or or not having caught up on your sleep. But
- 46:37Speaker 2: eventually you keep messing with throwing in a different way
- 46:42Speaker 2: and messing these muscles up.
- 46:43Speaker 3: In one day, your your arm just pops. You know that.
- 46:46Speaker 2: I think that could be an issue there. But Bro,
- 46:50Speaker 2: the development and the modern day picture is fun to watch,
- 46:55Speaker 2: and I think as we evolve more, you're going to
- 46:58Speaker 2: see these guys getting deeper in the game. Understand, maybe
- 47:01Speaker 2: Biz doesn't have to throw it one O five, you
- 47:03Speaker 2: can he could tame it back to ninety eight and
- 47:06Speaker 2: go eight or nine, seven, seven to eight innings instead
- 47:09Speaker 2: of maybe five or six innings.
- 47:11Speaker 1: We got to get our guy Adam Outovino on here.
- 47:13Speaker 1: I work with him ESPN. He is a wizard when
- 47:16Speaker 1: it comes to talking. Sorry stuff, but.
- 47:18Speaker 4: I'm with you, Yeah, I'm with you.
- 47:21Speaker 1: It's it's like, what's cool about the evolution and being
- 47:26Speaker 1: able to be in the game for a little while
- 47:27Speaker 1: and manage and still being a part of it. It's
- 47:29Speaker 1: like all these got me Sureser's doing it now. It's
- 47:32Speaker 1: like all these guys come up with real elite stuff
- 47:34Speaker 1: and it's middle and just blowing doors, and then they.
- 47:36Speaker 4: Start as the stuff deteriorates.
- 47:38Speaker 1: If you're able to stay healthy and have a long
- 47:41Speaker 1: career and be in the league for ten twelve years,
- 47:44Speaker 1: it's now we're on the edges.
- 47:46Speaker 4: Now we're back door and stuff.
- 47:48Speaker 1: Like Johnny Lester used to be ninety seven blowing doors
- 47:51Speaker 1: and then at the end he's sinking it, he's cutting it.
- 47:53Speaker 1: Change up, back door cutters. You know, you start to
- 47:57Speaker 1: use the edges a little bit more. But that's after
- 47:59Speaker 1: a long, really long career and being in the game.
- 48:01Speaker 2: For speaking of Johnny us our boys up to be
- 48:05Speaker 2: on the Hall of Fame ballot next year, and uh,
- 48:08Speaker 2: I know now being a member of being a member
- 48:11Speaker 2: of the media, ROSSI well, he's he's getting inductive to
- 48:14Speaker 2: the Cubs Hall of Fame at the end of August.
- 48:17Speaker 2: That's in a couple of weeks, right, Yeah, I'm excited
- 48:19Speaker 2: for that one, him and his family. But being a
- 48:24Speaker 2: member of the media, ROSSI for me and I'm gonna
- 48:27Speaker 2: tell I'm gonna hold you accountable.
- 48:28Speaker 3: Is this.
- 48:28Speaker 2: Make sure you tell all the writers that they need
- 48:30Speaker 2: to vote for him to get him in first Battle
- 48:32Speaker 2: Hall of Famer. I mean, he's a three time World
- 48:35Speaker 2: Series champion, his playoff pedigree is unmatched. Just a little
- 48:39Speaker 2: unsolicited love for our guy, Johnny Lester, even though he
- 48:42Speaker 2: calls me a moron when he does interviews, but I.
- 48:47Speaker 3: Still love him. Who do you got?
- 48:50Speaker 2: Who do you got? Let's give me give me some
- 48:52Speaker 2: of your give me some of your power rankings.
- 48:55Speaker 1: ROSSI power rank A L I'll go, I'll go raise.
- 49:02Speaker 1: I think the Rays are you know, the additions they've made.
- 49:05Speaker 1: Hopefully they can figure out Peralta get him back on track.
- 49:09Speaker 1: But I think it's raised Red Sox Yankees. Now, when
- 49:13Speaker 1: the Yankees get Judge and Stanton and Bellinger back, I
- 49:16Speaker 1: think the Yankees got the best pitching staff in the
- 49:19Speaker 1: league and especially in the American League. If not the game,
- 49:22Speaker 1: but they're really really deep with with Cole Freed cam
- 49:28Speaker 1: you know, they may get ron domback. It's a it's
- 49:32Speaker 1: a it's a deep lineup and the bullpen's been great,
- 49:35Speaker 1: so it probably goes somewhere in that order.
- 49:37Speaker 4: White Sox.
- 49:39Speaker 1: I really like the Astros and how hot they're getting
- 49:41Speaker 1: their their pitching. You know, they didn't really go deepen
- 49:45Speaker 1: the starting staff, which hurts a little bit. I think
- 49:48Speaker 1: that's probably where I'm you know, leaning.
- 49:52Speaker 4: N L.
- 49:53Speaker 1: Brewers for sure. I've got the Braves ahead of the
- 49:57Speaker 1: Dodgers right now. I know the Dodgers are probably two
- 50:00Speaker 1: and will be too when they get everybody healthy. But
- 50:03Speaker 1: I love, I love with the Braves. And they went
- 50:05Speaker 1: out and tried to get de Gram looked like it.
- 50:08Speaker 1: He poot pooed that trade. But Brewers, Braves, Dodgers, Cubs.
- 50:14Speaker 4: Phillies, Diamondbacks, Dimonbacks, sneaky hot. That's deep. Yeah, that's a
- 50:20Speaker 4: little deep.
- 50:22Speaker 2: Danel Race is gonna be a goallet that playoffs and
- 50:25Speaker 2: then now that you are going to have to be
- 50:26Speaker 2: the play at such a high level in the.
- 50:30Speaker 1: And that's gonna be a who's hot, right, That's why
- 50:32Speaker 1: it's like you, I've just been watching because that you
- 50:35Speaker 1: watch the Dodgers so much. But the Diamondbacks are kind
- 50:38Speaker 1: of sneaky good and Marte hadn't been playing well for him,
- 50:42Speaker 1: and well, you know, like.
- 50:44Speaker 2: The American League, right the Yankees, my opinion, the Yankees
- 50:48Speaker 2: are number one powerhouse. I mean, they have a deep,
- 50:52Speaker 2: real pitching staff that they can end up moving guys
- 50:56Speaker 2: to the bullpen. Guys are gonna be getting healthy at
- 50:58Speaker 2: the right time. It's it almost they almost remind me
- 51:01Speaker 2: of what the Dodgers are doing, where they're gonna have
- 51:04Speaker 2: all their guys pretty much lined up to be healthy
- 51:06Speaker 2: going into the playoffs, which they're gonna Boonie's gonna have
- 51:10Speaker 2: a lot of a lot of toys to be playing
- 51:14Speaker 2: with there, which is nicer for him. I don't think
- 51:16Speaker 2: he's ever had that kind of depth before. So, but
- 51:20Speaker 2: I mean, you look at the American League Central. You
- 51:23Speaker 2: have a good week and you're the favorite to win
- 51:27Speaker 2: the American League Central. Right now, it's the Tigers are
- 51:31Speaker 2: hot again. There are a few games back. The White
- 51:33Speaker 2: Sox are in first place. I love the tweet that
- 51:37Speaker 2: John Hayman wrote out saying what a world we live in?
- 51:39Speaker 3: That the White Sox.
- 51:41Speaker 2: Have a first round by and the Dodgers don't if
- 51:43Speaker 2: the playoffs were to start today, right, So yeah, I
- 51:47Speaker 2: mean these teams, I think I think these American League teams,
- 51:52Speaker 2: the Rangers, right, this is kind of how they snuck.
- 51:56Speaker 1: Yeah, but Eve's right there in the in the central,
- 51:58Speaker 1: like you're wouldn't it be crazy if the Detroit gets
- 52:03Speaker 1: in with and they traded Scooble and.
- 52:08Speaker 2: The Splitty they did a few years ago and all
- 52:12Speaker 2: the pitching chaos at they traded guy.
- 52:16Speaker 3: They traded off Casey.
- 52:17Speaker 4: Mayes, thank you, thank you Warrior.
- 52:20Speaker 2: Sorry case They traded off a few guys at the deadline,
- 52:23Speaker 2: and they go into the pitching chaos and and win
- 52:26Speaker 2: a series or two in the playoffs. So for me,
- 52:28Speaker 2: in the American League gets the Yankees, the Rays, the
- 52:33Speaker 2: Red Sox, and then the Astros.
- 52:37Speaker 3: Don't sleep on the people are sleeping on the Astros
- 52:39Speaker 3: and they're just yeah, you're around. It's got to be
- 52:43Speaker 3: the front runner for m v P right in the
- 52:45Speaker 3: American League.
- 52:46Speaker 4: Triple crown, right, Yeah, like he's he's he's there. He's
- 52:49Speaker 4: like that guy.
- 52:52Speaker 2: The National League. Ah, you just you can't throwing the Dodgers.
- 52:57Speaker 2: They just went out and got the best picture available
- 52:59Speaker 2: on them market. Their playoff rotation is their their rotation
- 53:03Speaker 2: right now is insane, and they're going to be getting
- 53:05Speaker 2: guys healthy. So for me, it's Dodgers, Brewers, Cubs, Tubbies.
- 53:14Speaker 2: I know you're going Cobbies, Cubs, Phillies, Braves. And the
- 53:17Speaker 2: reason I throw the Braves is because they've just been
- 53:21Speaker 2: so under the radar that.
- 53:25Speaker 3: I just feel like you need a little bit of
- 53:26Speaker 3: that smoke.
- 53:28Speaker 4: You're right, the Braves, I get, they fly on the radar.
- 53:31Speaker 1: I just I don't trust the Phillies, the defense and
- 53:34Speaker 1: and some of that that that you know, the Phillies.
- 53:37Speaker 2: For me, the Phillies lineup is going to have to
- 53:39Speaker 2: be clicking in the playoffs and get hot because sure,
- 53:43Speaker 2: I mean, but bro Shorter. Shorter is what third all
- 53:47Speaker 2: time in the playoff home run list. You know, the
- 53:50Speaker 2: guy's a proven winner. Don't sleep on this being Shorb's
- 53:54Speaker 2: year two. I've been saying it to him since Indiana
- 53:57Speaker 2: won the national championship. He's yeah, deal, ten year reunion.
- 54:05Speaker 2: Maybe Phillies won the World Series. So but I mean,
- 54:08Speaker 2: the Phillies have the pitching though.
- 54:09Speaker 3: You know what I mean going into a a series.
- 54:15Speaker 3: Those guys are nasty.
- 54:16Speaker 4: Sort series for sure.
- 54:19Speaker 1: Before we get get out of here, I want to
- 54:21Speaker 1: bring up you've got the Field of Dreams game coming
- 54:26Speaker 1: up with the Twins and the Phillies.
- 54:30Speaker 3: Yeah, we even talk about the twins and what do
- 54:33Speaker 3: you talk about the Twins?
- 54:35Speaker 1: Yeah, they're super sneaky, but you get them in Iowa
- 54:40Speaker 1: at the Field of Dreams. Are you pumped about that?
- 54:42Speaker 1: I got to manage I mean you you've already played in.
- 54:45Speaker 1: I got to manage it. Like what a cool scene.
- 54:48Speaker 1: MLB puts on an amazing event. What they're able to
- 54:51Speaker 1: do in that environment in the middle of nowhere is
- 54:54Speaker 1: absolutely insane. Being able to give you a weight room
- 54:59Speaker 1: and showers and a locker room and the food. I
- 55:01Speaker 1: mean it's all first class and and just the middle
- 55:03Speaker 1: of a cornfield.
- 55:04Speaker 4: I'm I'm pumped to watch that. Are you pumped to
- 55:07Speaker 4: be on that broadcast?
- 55:08Speaker 3: Yeah? That's gonna be fun. I was.
- 55:11Speaker 2: I was on a flight recently, flying and I was
- 55:15Speaker 2: I watched The Field of Dreams. I haven't seen it
- 55:17Speaker 2: in a few years, and my son was right next
- 55:20Speaker 2: to me sleeping.
- 55:21Speaker 3: He's one years old.
- 55:22Speaker 2: And it gets towards the end of the movie and
- 55:24Speaker 2: were just on a family vacation and my you know,
- 55:28Speaker 2: they start playing catch the father son moment playing catch,
- 55:31Speaker 2: and I'm literally in tears on this plane, Anthony Junior
- 55:36Speaker 2: next to me. I hope my son wants to play
- 55:38Speaker 2: catch with me one day, all in my back of
- 55:41Speaker 2: my head saying I can't wait to get home.
- 55:42Speaker 3: I can play catch with my own dad in the street.
- 55:45Speaker 4: Right, so so cool.
- 55:47Speaker 3: And then being on Netflix, it'll bring you to tears.
- 55:50Speaker 4: It'll bring you to tears for sure.
- 55:51Speaker 2: Being on the global platform and just being able to broadcast, Bro,
- 55:56Speaker 2: the broadcasting world has been fun. This like talking the
- 55:59Speaker 2: game with you. You and this show is gonna be
- 56:01Speaker 2: a lot of fun because we can just be unfiltered
- 56:04Speaker 2: and talk how we want. But probably get to sit
- 56:07Speaker 2: on a cast with l Duncan, who is amazing leading us,
- 56:11Speaker 2: Barry Bonds and Albert Puhos.
- 56:13Speaker 3: I'm gonna thread with them and a group text and it's.
- 56:17Speaker 2: Like, Bro, what like how where what do I bring
- 56:20Speaker 2: to this table? These dudes have seven hundred plus home
- 56:22Speaker 2: runs Albert. Albert has four hundred more home runs than
- 56:26Speaker 2: me in his career. Right, seven of three I have
- 56:28Speaker 2: three right, and he's so humble and down the earth,
- 56:31Speaker 2: and Barry's been so fun to work with.
- 56:33Speaker 1: And then now you know how I feel when I
- 56:36Speaker 1: walk into a room.
- 56:37Speaker 4: It's good. Everybody.
- 56:39Speaker 1: Everybody's up here, and I'm like, oh, two twenty, backup catcher.
- 56:43Speaker 1: But I just try to smile and laugh and try
- 56:46Speaker 1: to be everybody's friends.
- 56:47Speaker 2: So I'm excited to call it. And then you are
- 56:51Speaker 2: in Chicago this weekend. Cubs Cardinals called Cardinals, Baby whoo.
- 56:56Speaker 1: I've got Yankees Seattle tomorrow Wednesday.
- 57:01Speaker 4: Tomorrow tomorrow, Yeah, tomorrow Wednesday. That's gonna be a good series.
- 57:07Speaker 1: The offenses haven't been Yeah, the offenses haven't been rolling,
- 57:11Speaker 1: but you know, the Yankees been pitching well, and Seattle,
- 57:15Speaker 1: you know, on paper, God, they're like they're so impressive,
- 57:18Speaker 1: they just haven't be able to put together. And my guy,
- 57:21Speaker 1: Kyle Rally is scuffling. So it's gonna be fun to
- 57:24Speaker 1: be on that. And then back to Chicago Sunday. Uh,
- 57:27Speaker 1: my kids school starts back, so I gotta get in
- 57:28Speaker 1: dad mode, get get lunches packed, we got get locked.
- 57:31Speaker 4: We gotta lock it in. Bro. We've got to really
- 57:33Speaker 4: focus right now. A sixth grader.
- 57:36Speaker 2: I'll be Sunday night baseball in Houston too with NBC,
- 57:41Speaker 2: So hey, maybe maybe we got to fill in some
- 57:44Speaker 2: segments of uh, did we really say that on air?
- 57:49Speaker 3: You know, when you're when you're talking.
- 57:51Speaker 2: Since I know, for me, at least since I'm new,
- 57:53Speaker 2: I'll say stuff sometimes I'll be like, really.
- 57:56Speaker 4: Just what that that?
- 58:01Speaker 1: And it's not about me segment? So whatever, like somehow
- 58:04Speaker 1: coming it's not about me segment? And then did we
- 58:06Speaker 1: just say that on air? And get a little clep.
- 58:09Speaker 4: That'll be fun? Man, Well listen first one in the books.
- 58:12Speaker 1: I've enjoyed the heck out of this, and I hope
- 58:15Speaker 1: our listeners give us feedback, give us the ball bag questions.

- 58:24Speaker 1: And bro, I'm excited about this journey we're about to
- 58:27Speaker 1: go on.
- 58:27Speaker 2: And I also want to give an amazing shout out
- 58:29Speaker 2: ross you to our amazing producer Chris Trand helping us
- 58:32Speaker 2: with a rundown on the show, helping us kind of
- 58:35Speaker 2: stay somewhat online here.
- 58:37Speaker 3: I know you and I can get on our rants.
- 58:39Speaker 3: But man, it' sh gonna be fun.
- 58:40Speaker 2: I hope, I hope we gain a few new fans,
- 58:43Speaker 2: and I hope we continue to talk to.
- 58:46Speaker 3: The game of baseball and the game of life.
- 58:48Speaker 1: ROSSI yeah, ball bags, go to YouTube, comment or email

- 58:57Speaker 1: bag questions or comments in.
- 58:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I say, I'm excited to see some of the
- 59:01Speaker 2: random I mean, we want to talk about all the teams,
- 59:04Speaker 2: ah and be nice, break people, yeah, be nice, beat
- 59:08Speaker 2: be assholes, be unfiltered whatever.
- 59:11Speaker 3: But we could break down. We can break down mask
- 59:14Speaker 3: with scenarios, managerial decisions. We we have a lot of
- 59:18Speaker 3: experience roster. You managed. I think I managed in my day,
- 59:22Speaker 3: but uh, I.
- 59:23Speaker 4: Just definitely you definitely managed. First. First first merch shirt
- 59:29Speaker 4: is be unfiltered. I like that, Yes, merch shirt.
