- 0:02A person elevating themselves in their mind and thinking that
- 0:05they are a big deal. We spoke about, you know, the
- 0:10original thing, elements of humility.
- 0:12Then how you move in your mind and it keeps you grounded.
- 0:15It keeps you relatable. It keeps you connected by
- 0:17realizing that you have every one of us has some sort of
- 0:21background flaw and God orchestrates orchestrates that
- 0:24orchestrates it that way by design.
- 0:27He gives every person some, like I said, funny uncle, difficult
- 0:31grandparents, even a child. Child is not super proud of
- 0:35something going on in their life.
- 0:37So that exactly something to go on in their life that's a little
- 0:40bit embarrassing to keep them grounded, to keep them low key,
- 0:44to keep them human, to keep them relatable because it makes them
- 0:47where they are. Otherwise they would start
- 0:48elevating themselves in their mind and then they'd be lost.
- 0:51Now we said ha ha. For example, wisdom, being very
- 0:57smart makes people very arrogant, makes people think
- 1:00that they're above a cut, above wisdom.
- 1:07Thinking that you're smart is one of the things that really
- 1:10lives people up in their mind and makes them think their big
- 1:14deal. This is a gift and the greatest
- 1:20part of yourself, which means this is a gift in your essence.
- 1:24You know, if a person's wealthy, if you're very good about
- 1:26themselves, I think they're a big deal.
- 1:28But there's a lot of aspects to say to themselves, OK, listen,
- 1:31I'm wealthy, but it's not me. And I can see there's a
- 1:33separation between my wealth and myself.
- 1:35And people can poke a hole in the arrogance that may come from
- 1:40my wealth because they'll say it wasn't him, it was his father,
- 1:43it was a company, it was his life, it was the one deal
- 1:47they're going to break. Poke a hole when it comes to
- 1:50your wisdom, which is you, yourself.
- 1:52It's harder for people to poke a hole in that gift.
- 1:56And therefore it's easier for me to believe that I am actually
- 1:59special because of this thing that exists in my own mind.
- 2:04And that's more dangerous because the more you think it's
- 2:07you, the harder it is for you to separate from it and the harder
- 2:12it is for you to keep yourself grounded.
- 2:13I know I said this is your own mind and you think to yourself,
- 2:17if I, if someone says I'm very smart and then you try to tell
- 2:20them it's not you, it's from Hashem, it's hard for them to
- 2:24see because you're telling me that my own existence, my own
- 2:27mind isn't me. How do I celebrate to do?
- 2:30Of course, everything's from my show, everything from my show,
- 2:33but it OK, then that's what's harder to do.
- 2:37There is no wise man and rabbi even who doesn't make mistakes,
- 2:47who doesn't need to come on to others to teach him.
- 2:50Every wise man makes mistakes in intellect.
- 2:54Every wise man makes mistakes and come to his mind.
- 3:00I feel a bit of it. Tell me, Dove, sometimes this
- 3:02wise man needs his students to help him out.
- 3:05He needs his students to teach him right from law and can based
- 3:09on that, we want to tell him as smart as you think you are and
- 3:12as much as you think it's you because it's harder to separate
- 3:15and say to yourself, I'm a smart, but it's God.
- 3:18We have an easier approach. Do you approach you?
- 3:20You're smart, sure, be also very dumb.
- 3:23You're smart, but you also have a full you have an area that you
- 3:27don't know. You have a topic and you're in a
- 3:30little bit somewhat ignorant and and you have aspect that is more
- 3:35to learn. And we try to keep ourselves
- 3:38humble by being real. And can how am I going to be
- 3:44arrogant with my wisdom when there are parts, I can put them
- 3:47on this table right here, right now, and I can prove to you
- 3:50there are certain parts that I don't know anything about.
- 3:52All right, really. That's sure.
- 3:54So if that's the case, so then how can I be arrogant?
- 3:57How can a person only look at the view of where he's smart and
- 4:03not look at the view of the full reality?
- 4:05Just be real firm. And all you need to do is he
- 4:08said he made a joke with the wife.
- 4:10All you need is someone out there who knows your full
- 4:12picture, who knows where you're weak, and they'll show you the
- 4:17complete picture and they'll take down that arrogance,
- 4:20although the arrogance is kind from a source that's so
- 4:23connected to you. It's so hard to separate.
- 4:25It's so hard to keep myself humble if I'm smart in this
- 4:28topic, but at the same time I'm staring at one topic.
- 4:31Look at the truth. Look at the full fiction.
- 4:33Vulnam, Michel Bao, Serhaya Shah, someone who's of a
- 4:38straight mind, a feeling. Zahaliotrakam Gadol Uma flag.
- 4:44Even if he's a wild genius, permit kishi is taqel Viet bonin
- 4:49yer eshen Macomb lagava. Wait, nasut.
- 4:54Even if this man is a wild genius, he's knows everything.
- 4:57Talika hakam, the kubal, he knows the whole bit.
- 5:02Doesn't matter. It's very easy to keep him
- 5:05grounded. It's very easy to keep that
- 5:08person, to avoid that person becoming arrogant.
- 5:12Now what arrogance are we referring to?
- 5:14The arrogance of wisdom is I know better arrogance.
- 5:18The most dangerous arrogance out there is when someone thinks
- 5:21they know better. Because when you know better,
- 5:23you're not listening, you don't hear anything.
- 5:26No new information comes in. The application of the wisdom is
- 5:31very dangerous because when someone thinks that they're
- 5:34wise, they keep themselves exactly the same because there's
- 5:39no new information coming in. I'm working with the information
- 5:42I have because no one can tell me anything new.
- 5:44Ta da. I know worldliness, I know I'm
- 5:47gifted in every area. I know business, I know this, I
- 5:50know marriage, I know children. I know the whole bit.
- 5:53You're not willing to learn from others also, right?
- 5:55And then you won't change. So the difficulty and the danger
- 5:59of the arrogance of wisdom, as you've seen some people who
- 6:03think that they're smart, you've seen it, I've seen it.
- 6:05We don't continue with the warning.
- 6:07These arrogant people, they continue to take in information,
- 6:09but they keep it on the same stream.
- 6:11And that stream is just adding fuel to mine.
- 6:14Knowing everything. They don't really open up the
- 6:17door to change. They never are willing to see a
- 6:21mistake. They keep their, you know, the
- 6:24overall base at Bay and that is I have a base of a lot of
- 6:28information. I have a pile on to that.
- 6:30I'm not going to learn anymore, but my learning is not going to
- 6:33come from a hungry place of availability to change.
- 6:36My learning is not going to come from vulnerability.
- 6:38It's not going to come from the ability to be wrong.
- 6:41No, no, no, it's only right and I'll add more to my rightness.
- 6:46That's all it is. That's the mindset of such a
- 6:48person. If that's the mindset of person,
- 6:51you'll notice they don't change, not an iota, zero.
- 6:56They don't change it all. They don't change your opinion.
- 6:59They don't change their approach to life.
- 7:01They don't change anything we do because in our and even though,
- 7:04as David's saying, which is right, well, they are, they're
- 7:07they're students of the game. They want to learn more.
- 7:10You're willing to learn more, but it stays in the same thread
- 7:13and the same theme, which is I know everything plus that and I
- 7:17know everything plus that. It doesn't become an
- 7:20availability and a vulnerability to change.
- 7:23That's how dangerous arrogance and wisdom is.
- 7:27Whereas the flip side is that you can be very smart.
- 7:30You can know a lot. You do know a lot.
- 7:32You have a whole life experience.
- 7:34But at the same time, you want to be a student.
- 7:36You want to be a Talmid Hakam. Hakam is a wise man at Talmid as
- 7:41a student, the greatest of our grades, we refer to him as a
- 7:45tamid Hakam. That's the greatest I've.
- 7:47I've raised there. A tamid.
- 7:48They're a student. Yeah.
- 7:49You're forever a student to the game.
- 7:51You know what I know? Like we mentioned the other day,
- 7:53a ball player who thinks he knows it all, he comes out of
- 7:57the draft, he's the first pick pick in the draft or is early on
- 8:01he believes he already made it right.
- 8:04He go look at his perspective one of two ways.
- 8:06Either you could tell him you are just getting started, you're
- 8:11a beginning, you're a fresher to his new league and it's a whole
- 8:15new set of rules and workouts and you have to deal with all
- 8:18new different challenges. The NFL is nothing like college
- 8:22football and the NHL is nothing like college hockey.
- 8:25That's a whole different game. You need to beef up and study
- 8:27the game. Or he can think.
- 8:30He already reached the finish line.
- 8:32He graduated, all right. Graduating college is what is
- 8:35the end or the beginning. That's how you look at it.
- 8:38Arrogant guy. I just graduated with straight
- 8:42whatever from the top college. I'm already set.
- 8:46No, no, no, you're just getting warmed up, right?
- 8:48And now you're getting started. You have student loans to pay.
- 8:52You have exactly, you have some work to get involved in.
- 8:55You have to start creating relationships and actually
- 8:57practicing it and playing at all your wisdom.
- 9:00You have to apply it. You're not the end.
- 9:03You're at the beginning. Every single graduation that we
- 9:06have in our structure can be seen as ends or beginnings.
- 9:10It's all about how a person plays the game and how he looks
- 9:13at it. Arrogant or humble and the same
- 9:16thing is true with wisdom. You learned a lot in your life.
- 9:19You know a lot. You have your parents
- 9:21upbringing, you have your own personal experiences.
- 9:25You have the businesses you've been in, you have the school
- 9:27that you went to. You have the learning that you
- 9:29do every day. You have life that you have is
- 9:32very, very exact approach to by now you have an approach.
- 9:37You understand people, you know right from wrong, you know
- 9:40what's coming. You can read the news and you
- 9:42have your own translation of what's really going on.
- 9:44You ever read, you develop the Reed, see that as a complete
- 9:48picture, or see that as a student of the game, hungry for
- 9:52more? The latter you're going to grow
- 9:54and grow and grow The former. There's nothing going to change
- 9:58in us. And we don't want to be a person
- 10:00who doesn't change. We want to be a person who
- 10:02remains humble, who remains hungry, who remains growing, who
- 10:07remains constantly evolving in a good way.
- 10:10That's the idea. All right, That's the concept.
- 10:12Can you name me Shahu? A guy who's honest with himself,
- 10:18who's smart. He knows a lot.
- 10:22He knows more than the average Joe.
- 10:24And I'll say Ella should hook to all lawsuit.
- 10:28All his mind is doing, actually. He's just doing what he's
- 10:31naturally gifted by. He shouldn't be overly proud of
- 10:35himself. He just allowing his mind to be
- 10:38cut off. He's like a bird that flies.
- 10:42A bird reaches his prey and reaches the other birds.
- 10:44He's able to fly. Why is he able to fly 'cause he
- 10:47was born with wings. Nabluk, a guy with a basic mind
- 10:51who uses his mind, is using the gift that God gave him right
- 10:55off. She might be a loaf that he
- 10:58should develop a car. He's able to fly because that's
- 11:00his nature without a shorter morcher and an ox that can pull
- 11:03because that's his nature. The visual.
- 11:05Who can? That's his makeup.
- 11:08Bishu Raham, who? The visual tip, all MI viola's
- 11:12it. When a guy is wise, he should
- 11:14realize that is my nature. I have this sermon mental
- 11:18makeup. So relax.
- 11:20I shouldn't be overly excited about myself.
- 11:22It's my Rook. I feel very good about myself
- 11:25and I'm able to develop and process and think and learn and
- 11:29build and make companies and do all that.
- 11:31But that's really, if you think about it, just the basic flow of
- 11:35how I was made-up. A bird was born with winks.
- 11:38Ox is born with strength. I as human being was born with a
- 11:41mind and therefore it's God's given and it requires a lot of
- 11:47development. I am just starting what I'm
- 11:50holding right now. This is baseline.
- 11:52This is the makeup of a human being.
- 11:54If that's the case, I have a calm down.
- 11:58I'm going to chill out when it comes to how proud I am with
- 12:01every smart move that I make and I realize how much did I really
- 12:05deviate from the plan anyhow, is that the plan was set up.
- 12:09God gave me the wisdom. He put me in the right
- 12:11schooling. He put me in the right family.
- 12:13He connected me to the right people.
- 12:15He gave me the desire for more wisdom.
- 12:17Maybe He pumped me around a bunch of friends who are a
- 12:20little smarter to make me a little hungrier, right?
- 12:24He put me in a family that I don't have a good opinion.
- 12:26I'm embarrassed, right? He put me in a certain
- 12:29schooling. He guided me along this path.
- 12:31I'm a bird with wings that went to wing school.
- 12:34What am I? And because of that, calm down.
- 12:38I calm down when I'm proud of myself that I have the right
- 12:41opinion. Or as if someone doesn't see it
- 12:43that way. He's prone to think that every
- 12:47time he says something smart, it's like he made a creation
- 12:51with his own gifts. He created wisdom and he came up
- 12:54with a genius idea, this guy. And now he knows.
- 12:57Wow. And every time he made a move in
- 13:00business, he feels to himself like, I knew how to do that.
- 13:04And the danger and the arrogance and the remaining the same,
- 13:10that's really what he's prone to, is all coming from the fact
- 13:14that he thinks he's behind the wheel.
- 13:17And he developed Wisdom A and wisdom B and wisdom C.
- 13:21So on the one hand he thinks he set, on the other hand, he
- 13:24thinks it's all coming from him. And both those things are
- 13:27mistakes. 1 you never set when it comes to wisdom.
- 13:32Be very honest with yourself, as smart as you are, you, everyone
- 13:36of you can prove to me that there's an area I don't know and
- 13:39every and I can prove to you and this area you don't know, right?
- 13:42And that's not meant to humiliate a person.
- 13:45It's meant to humanize a person and to keep us grounded, hungry,
- 13:49growing, developing deep. That's Part 1.
- 13:52At the same time, also realizing that our wisdom is really just
- 13:58our natural development or whatever we do have, besides the
- 14:02fact that there's more to go and we have to be hungry and
- 14:04therefore change. What we do have is actually
- 14:08we're just walking along the path that was carved and formed
- 14:12in front of us. We're not really doing that much
- 14:15special. Yeah.
- 14:16We put in the time and the effort and we like to learn.
- 14:19And we're, we're a student of the game.
- 14:21All that's correct. But even as we're doing that, it
- 14:24came from a natural makeup. We have wings.
- 14:28We like to, we like to spread them.
- 14:30We have a brain, it likes to be spreaded more few if that's the
- 14:35case, that's where it came from. Basically, I shun created a path
- 14:37for you to give you wisdom. It's all God-given.
- 14:40You didn't create that decision or create that idea or come up
- 14:45with that hop with that thought and that opinion and that
- 14:48statement. It's all naturally God-given.
- 14:51God creates for you to make up of your approach to everything.
- 14:56And I'll prove it to you, Sir, many, many of your opinions came
- 15:00from your experiences, not even your learning your experiences.
- 15:04And they made you very smart in a certain areas.
- 15:07You bought a house once. You know what it means to buy a
- 15:11house. Next time you're buying a house,
- 15:14you're looking at the other guy who's who's overpaying for this
- 15:17and for that. And you're looking at him and
- 15:18he's saying to yourself, I know how to do this.
- 15:21I've been down this rodeo and know exactly what's going on.
- 15:24You don't buy this. So you buy that way, right?
- 15:26You have wisdom. Where did that come from?
- 15:30It came from your learning, but also came from life itself.
- 15:33So I shimmed throughout you a piece of experience that went
- 15:37into your machine, that became wisdom, came out on the other
- 15:41side as wisdom, right? That's how life works.
- 15:45Or you've dealt with someone who's got you wants in business.
- 15:48You know how it works. You know when it looks too good,
- 15:50it smells too good, it is too good.
- 15:52You know that. You see another guy, he's about
- 15:54to invest, and you go over to him and say stutterson, No,
- 15:57there are no red flags on this guy right now, but I can
- 16:00guarantee you I'll put money down.
- 16:03This is not going to work access.
- 16:04How do you know I know? How do you know?
- 16:07I have a feeling, You have a feeling.
- 16:09I'm going to trust your feeling. I'm going to take away the
- 16:10opportunity at 8% because you're feeling.
- 16:13I have a feeling and you say you're feeling.
- 16:16And lo and behold, you're right. Where'd that wisdom come from?
- 16:20It came from your life salad. Your life mixed.
- 16:24So I shouldn't provide it for you.
- 16:26Schooling in investment, schooling in homebody, schooling
- 16:32in childbearing, schooling in marriage.
- 16:35Hashem gave it to you because He gave you the certain kind of
- 16:38wife and the certain kind of child and the certain kind of
- 16:39this and the certain kind of that.
- 16:41See, your wisdom itself, even the actual horma, is built on
- 16:46God's gifts. And that should tell us that is
- 16:50not myself making every time we make a decision.
- 16:52That's smart. We believe it's a bria.
- 16:55I created a new creation. No.
- 16:58You flex your arm. You have a body with an arm.
- 17:01You have a body with a mind. You flex your arm.
- 17:04You blink your eyes. You had a thought to Todavar.
- 17:07If that's the case, I should see that it's God-given just like a
- 17:12bird, and nothing is a bird flexing his wings.
- 17:14It's very cool. A bird can fly.
- 17:16If you got up and flew, I'd be amazed, right?
- 17:20I know we have AI that allows it, but I'd be amazed the bird
- 17:23can fly. It's no big deal because it's
- 17:26natural gifts. The same thing is true with
- 17:29myself. If I have a smart thought, it's
- 17:32like a bird flying. It's my natural gifts that God
- 17:35created for me and therefore I should calm down when I'm able
- 17:40to express those gifts. Now, I'll be overly excited and
- 17:43don't let it come to my head because when it does, I have all
- 17:46the challenges that I'm prone to.
- 17:48When a guy is too small for himself and he believes that he
- 17:52knows everything, I'm not hungry, I'm not changing, and I
- 17:55argue. That's the fear.
- 17:57Start with this.
