- 0:26Speaker 1: It is time to believe your worries outside and life
- 0:30Speaker 1: with us inside the Treehouse. Today is Monday, December ninth,
- 0:36Speaker 1: twenty twenty four. I'm Daniel Malley along with Trade Trendholme
- 0:41Speaker 1: today ready to start this show and this week very
- 0:53Speaker 1: very strongly. Okay. We find it important to bring you
- 1:03Speaker 1: not just important stories. Anybody can do that, Oh No,
- 1:08Speaker 1: we want to make sure we bring you stories that
- 1:12Speaker 1: mean something to you that you can take in and
- 1:20Speaker 1: take with you and then share that with others, share
- 1:26Speaker 1: it with your what's.
- 1:28Speaker 2: That life lessons? You know, things inspirational.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Yes, including sometimes life lessons and definitely inspiration. You will
- 1:36Speaker 1: find inspiration here inside the Treehouse. That's for damn sure.
- 1:45Speaker 1: Like in the case of a previous story, we told
- 1:47Speaker 1: you there's been a new wrinkle added to it, Okay,
- 1:54Speaker 1: So it's important that you know and remember that just
- 1:59Speaker 1: a couple of months ago we told you about the
- 2:02Speaker 1: cocaine sharks off the coast of Florida. Well, first came
- 2:09Speaker 1: the cocaine sharks. Now it's the fentanyl dolphins. So while
- 2:16Speaker 1: you've got cocaine sharks off the coast of Florida, apparently
- 2:20Speaker 1: our dear Texas coast now has FENTONYL dolphins that we
- 2:24Speaker 1: have to be concerned about. I wish I was making
- 2:29Speaker 1: that up. Yeah, I have a pretty solid idea of
- 2:35Speaker 1: what a shark on cocaine's gonna act like. And that's terrifying.
- 2:42Speaker 1: I don't really know but know much about, you know,
- 2:45Speaker 1: the FENTONYL stuff other than that's just that's what they
- 2:48Speaker 1: use in you know, anesthesiology.
- 2:52Speaker 2: Right.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Yes, it's incredibly I mean it's I'd love to say
- 2:58Speaker 3: it's the strongest eat drug out there now, but it's not.
- 3:01Speaker 3: There's something even worse. But the slightest amount can kill you.
- 3:07Speaker 3: And you know, I knowing a little bit about dolphins,
- 3:16Speaker 3: I feel like dolphins are horny little bastards. And you know,
- 3:24Speaker 3: I feel like, now there's an epidemic of dolphins. Are
- 3:28Speaker 3: something's roofing the dolphins. Who's the dealer? Who is the
- 3:33Speaker 3: deep blue dealer?
- 3:36Speaker 1: Now that that is a big question, my friend, the
- 3:41Speaker 1: deep blue dealer. I like that fentanyl has been detected
- 3:45Speaker 1: in Texas dolphins. Researchers found pharmaceutical drugs in thirty Gulf
- 3:51Speaker 1: of Mexico dolphins that they tested, which goes to show
- 3:55Speaker 1: the FENTONYL crisis in the United States is affecting more
- 3:58Speaker 1: than just humans. It's not just on our streets, but
- 4:02Speaker 1: it's in our waters. Researchers at Texas A and M
- 4:06Speaker 1: Corpus Christie had detected traces of fentanyl in the blubber
- 4:09Speaker 1: of more than two dozen common bottlenose dolphins in the
- 4:12Speaker 1: Gulf of Mexico. In a new study titled Pharmaceuticals in
- 4:17Speaker 1: the Blubber of live, free swimming common bottle nose Dolphins
- 4:20Speaker 1: Pretty creative title. Researchers analyzed samples from three sites around
- 4:23Speaker 1: the Gulf of Mexico, including Redfish Bay and Laguna Mandre
- 4:26Speaker 1: in Texas. Other dolphin tissue samples were collected from the
- 4:29Speaker 1: Mississippi Sound in twenty thirteen. The study was recently accepted
- 4:33Speaker 1: by the journal Eye Science. It's not clear how fentanyl
- 4:37Speaker 1: ended up in the dolphin systems, however, According to a
- 4:41Speaker 1: professor of marine biology at Texas A and M Corpus
- 4:45Speaker 1: Christie and principal investigator of this study, she said, pharmaceuticals
- 4:48Speaker 1: have become emerging micro pollutants globally, with their presence being
- 4:52Speaker 1: reported in freshwater ecosystems, rivers at oceans worldwide. The thing
- 4:59Speaker 1: that I worry about is how, right, because the cocaine
- 5:05Speaker 1: sharks in Florida, we pretty much know how because uh,
- 5:08Speaker 1: cocaine coming in from other countries via water, just like
- 5:13Speaker 1: in Bad Boys Too, are getting dumped into the ocean
- 5:16Speaker 1: at the site of Coastguard, right, mm hmm. Maybe it's
- 5:19Speaker 1: the same thing with the dolphins here. They're seeing uh,
- 5:24Speaker 1: you know, the authorities and they're they're and the drug
- 5:29Speaker 1: smugglers are freaking out. So maybe they're dumping some of
- 5:31Speaker 1: that fentanyl overboard and it's attracting the dolphins.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Maybe, yeah, that would be the most likely.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Or like what was the story last week of the
- 5:43Speaker 3: the meth onesie. I mean, maybe there's a fentanyl wetsuit
- 5:48Speaker 3: that people are wearing.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Maybe maybe, Like at this point, you really can't rule
- 5:56Speaker 1: anything out. People are doing some weird stuff lately, there's
- 5:58Speaker 1: no doubt about that. And drugged ub creatures in the ocean,
- 6:08Speaker 1: or things we don't want people make fun of, like well,
- 6:12Speaker 1: like people started making fun of not wanting to have
- 6:16Speaker 1: paper straws. And the reason why, you know, paper straws
- 6:19Speaker 1: were a thing because environmentalists are saying, look, turtles are
- 6:21Speaker 1: getting straws in their noses. It's not because they were
- 6:24Speaker 1: doing cocaine. It's because you know, they were floating around,
- 6:27Speaker 1: they swam up their damn nose.
- 6:28Speaker 3: Well you say that, but now maybe maybe the turtles
- 6:35Speaker 3: are blowing rails.
- 6:41Speaker 1: You know what, You're right they think at this point,
- 6:43Speaker 1: we have to consider all options. I mean, you really can't.
- 6:50Speaker 1: You really can't take anything off the table. A good
- 6:53Speaker 1: scientist is going to say, we have to consider all
- 6:56Speaker 1: the variables, right, Yeah, and you said it. I mean,
- 7:00Speaker 1: you know, turtles doing ray.
- 7:16Speaker 4: You're listening to the Treehouse.
- 7:18Speaker 5: Visit us online at Treehouse on Air dot com.
- 7:29Speaker 1: What's your dealer's name, Leatherback.
- 7:41Speaker 6: You're in the treehouse.
- 7:43Speaker 7: Visit us online at Treehouse on Air dot com.
- 7:48Speaker 1: You can check out Treehouse on Air dot com and

- 7:53Speaker 1: right hand corner of Treehouse on Air dot com. Click
- 7:55Speaker 1: on that microphone. Leave us a message and we will
- 7:57Speaker 1: get it right here deep in the treehouse and maybe
- 8:01Speaker 1: even share it on the show. It's Treehouse on Air
- 8:04Speaker 1: dot com and talk back to us right here inside
- 8:07Speaker 1: the treehouse. This is the tree House. I'm Daniel Malley
- 8:11Speaker 1: along with Trey Trenholme today, and there's been a big
- 8:14Speaker 1: alert over the last handful of days from the FBI
- 8:18Speaker 1: telling us all, whatever you do, stop texting. And that's
- 8:25Speaker 1: a headline grabber. So I've read a few stories on
- 8:28Speaker 1: this tray. I'm not sure if you've seen this, but
- 8:30Speaker 1: I've been curious about it, because what is it. I
- 8:33Speaker 1: will tell you the FBI is urgently warning iPhone and
- 8:39Speaker 1: Android users to stop sending texts. There are some exceptions, however,
- 8:45Speaker 1: Apparently we're undergoing one of the largest intelligence compromises in
- 8:49Speaker 1: US history. A massive cyber attack on telecommunication companies such
- 8:54Speaker 1: as AT and T, which is what I use, and
- 8:56Speaker 1: Verizon has led to officials warning against sending texts. They
- 9:01Speaker 1: say there's one thing you can do to protect your data, though,
- 9:05Speaker 1: and that is to use encrypted messages. Now encrypted messages.
- 9:10Speaker 1: The ways you can do that, from what I've read,
- 9:14Speaker 1: is you can use What's app. It does auto encryption.
- 9:19Speaker 1: You don't have to be a hacker or an employee
- 9:21Speaker 1: at the NSA to encrypt your messages. Apparently the app
- 9:24Speaker 1: will do that for you. Also, apparently, if you're an
- 9:28Speaker 1: iPhone user and you're texting another iPhone user, the I
- 9:32Speaker 1: message texting that is apparently automatically encrypted. But if you are,
- 9:39Speaker 1: if you are sending a text from your Android to
- 9:42Speaker 1: an iPhone or an iPhone to an Android, that's regular
- 9:46Speaker 1: simple texting, and apparently that's bad.
- 9:48Speaker 6: Okay.
- 9:52Speaker 1: Two US officials, a senior FBI official who has not
- 9:56Speaker 1: to be named, and Jeff Green, who said, use my
- 9:58Speaker 1: name all you want. He's the executive assistant director for
- 10:01Speaker 1: cybersecurity at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, which I've
- 10:05Speaker 1: never heard of until today. He recommended using encrypted message
- 10:09Speaker 1: apps to those who want to minimize the chances of
- 10:12Speaker 1: their communications being interrupted. Okay. Speaking to NBC, he said,
- 10:16Speaker 1: our suggestion that we've told folks internally is not new.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Encryption is your friend, whether it's on the text messaging
- 10:23Speaker 1: or if you have the capacity to use encrypted voice communication.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Even if the adversary is able to intercept the data,
- 10:29Speaker 1: if it is encrypted, it will make it impossible. So
- 10:31Speaker 1: who is the adversary? The hacking campaign, which apparently was
- 10:35Speaker 1: nicknamed salt Typhoon, has managed to infiltrate eight major telecommunication
- 10:40Speaker 1: and infrastructure firms in the United States. Apparently there's been
- 10:43Speaker 1: a concentration of it around the Washington, DC area, which
- 10:46Speaker 1: makes me think, well, they're not coming after me. What
- 10:48Speaker 1: do I know. I'm in Texas and I think they
- 10:54Speaker 1: said that this group has ties to China. That was
- 10:57Speaker 1: another story I saw. So apparently China is once again
- 11:01Speaker 1: attacking our phones and our networks, trying to find out
- 11:03Speaker 1: stuff about us, and I don't know what, because when
- 11:09Speaker 1: I start thinking about this, what's on my phone that
- 11:12Speaker 1: I'm sending that some enemy of the state is gonna want?
- 11:19Speaker 1: I mean, I sent my wife the hug sleep sleeve
- 11:23Speaker 1: from Shark Tank. She sent me a photo of our
- 11:27Speaker 1: Christmas tree. I sent her a photo of our dog.
- 11:31Speaker 1: She sent me a photo of the cat. If they
- 11:36Speaker 1: want to infiltrate the Treehouse group chat, it's basically going
- 11:40Speaker 1: to be a lot of Spaceball's clips going back and
- 11:42Speaker 1: forth between me and Trey, and I don't know how
- 11:46Speaker 1: China is going to weaponize any of that. I'd be
- 11:48Speaker 1: actually kind of curious to see it. So at the
- 11:52Speaker 1: end of the day, what are the hackers going to
- 11:54Speaker 1: see in my text messages other than dog video Christmas stuff?
- 12:03Speaker 1: There's about thirty videos of a waterfall in the state
- 12:07Speaker 1: of Washington that I took this summer that I don't
- 12:09Speaker 1: think are gonna be helpful in invading America. But they're
- 12:12Speaker 1: on there. What are they going to see? What are
- 12:14Speaker 1: they gonna get?
- 12:15Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean pictures of Daisy for me, some work stuff, well,
- 12:22Speaker 3: wine order.
- 12:23Speaker 2: I mean, I I'm with you.
- 12:25Speaker 3: When I hear these things, I'm like, Okay, they can
- 12:28Speaker 3: look at my stuff. They're gonna just be bored out
- 12:32Speaker 3: of their mind if they they're coming. You know my direction.
- 12:35Speaker 1: I know, I kind of look at it this way.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Instead of locking up all your data, unlock it, go unencrypted.
- 12:44Speaker 1: You have that little slide piece on your laptop, webcam
- 12:48Speaker 1: open that bad boy up, leave your phone open all
- 12:50Speaker 1: the time on the camera setting. Basically, flood the hackers
- 12:56Speaker 1: with so much bolt they'll never be able to get
- 12:59Speaker 1: to any thing useful. All they'll be able to do
- 13:02Speaker 1: is see a bunch of photos of Trey's dog, Daisy.
- 13:05Speaker 1: They'll see some photos of whippets that my wife has
- 13:07Speaker 1: sent me. The dogs, not the drugs, Spaceball's clips between
- 13:13Speaker 1: me and Trey. They won't be able to find any
- 13:16Speaker 1: usable data in any of that. Basically, everything we do
- 13:20Speaker 1: and say in the tree House is now a national
- 13:24Speaker 1: security bullet that we are offering up to the United
- 13:28Speaker 1: States government to use against hackers. Just send all our
- 13:32Speaker 1: shows to them. They will never have time. Once they
- 13:36Speaker 1: try to sift through all of our stupid they will
- 13:38Speaker 1: give up and say, these people have nothing we want,
- 13:40Speaker 1: Let's leave them alone.
- 13:42Speaker 3: I was having this discussion with my stepmom and talking
- 13:49Speaker 3: about TikTok hang on Okay, and you know, the.
- 13:55Speaker 2: There's been this big thing of oh.
- 13:56Speaker 3: China's using TikTok to infiltrate you know, like, what in
- 14:00Speaker 3: the are they gonna go through? How much crap are
- 14:03Speaker 3: they willing to go through to think they're going to
- 14:05Speaker 3: find a nugget of intelligence on TikTok.
- 14:08Speaker 1: All they're going to see is a bunch of our
- 14:10Speaker 1: kids lighting themselves on fire. They're going to see that
- 14:13Speaker 1: girl we talked about the other day showing people shopping
- 14:17Speaker 1: hacks at Target, which are actually just shoplifting. What else
- 14:20Speaker 1: is on TikTok recently?
- 14:24Speaker 3: My algorithm, it's the same as Instagram boobs and animals,
- 14:28Speaker 3: funny you know, boobs and funny animal you know, heartwarming
- 14:31Speaker 3: animal stuff, occasional, you know, questionable jokes.
- 14:37Speaker 1: You know what, This all makes sense because if you
- 14:39Speaker 1: really want to distract one of our enemies. What can
- 14:41Speaker 1: you flood them with cute dog content, paige spar nak
- 14:47Speaker 1: and off color humor.
- 14:50Speaker 3: We know you can distract an entire North Korean army
- 14:53Speaker 3: just with porn.
- 14:58Speaker 1: I think we've got this figured out.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like, congratulations, China, you figured out we're really dumb.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Exactly. We'll just make ourselves so undesirable. They'll just lead
- 15:15Speaker 1: like those people are.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Just lead them alone. They can sneak up on us.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Just uh, you know, distract people with boobs and uh,
- 15:26Speaker 3: next thing, you know, they're right on the coast.
- 15:30Speaker 2: How they get there? Oh wait, more boobs.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Distracted, they just can't do anything. Look. I don't want
- 15:39Speaker 1: to toot our own horn too much here, but I
- 15:41Speaker 1: really feel like we've hacked the hackers.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Yeah that's I mean. And if you are, if you're
- 15:48Speaker 3: that important, God bless you.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Well here's the thing. Even our elected officials are all
- 15:54Speaker 1: distracted by boobs. Yeah, that is, if they're not currently
- 15:59Speaker 1: boobs themselves.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Very true.

- 16:45Speaker 1: I'm Dan along with Trey, happy to be here with you.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Yay Monday. That's okay though, because you're only two full
- 16:52Speaker 1: weeks away from a holiday break. God knows we all
- 16:55Speaker 1: could use it, and there's something that might happen over
- 16:58Speaker 1: the holidays, people looking for things to do now. I
- 17:03Speaker 1: want this set just because you're single and Trey, I'm
- 17:05Speaker 1: not just speaking to you specifically here, although you're included
- 17:07Speaker 1: in this because you are single. But just because you're
- 17:10Speaker 1: single doesn't necessarily mean you're lonely. Like Trey, Trey is
- 17:13Speaker 1: kind of living his best life. I mean he's he's
- 17:15Speaker 1: got He's got Daisy as dog is his best girl
- 17:18Speaker 1: and has been throughout his entire life. There's no doubt
- 17:20Speaker 1: all other bitches come after Daisy. H. Then you also
- 17:24Speaker 1: got Julius, the cat who sort of like your orange bro.
- 17:28Speaker 1: And and then you got your jobs. You got your
- 17:31Speaker 1: work at at you know your you're managing you know,
- 17:34Speaker 1: a hot night spot and which gets you some social
- 17:38Speaker 1: time outside of the home. And then the rest of
- 17:40Speaker 1: the time you call home, you watch them Netflix documentaries,
- 17:42Speaker 1: you cut up with your friends here inside the treehouse.
- 17:44Speaker 1: It's a pretty good gig, right, Yeah, if if you
- 17:49Speaker 1: find somebody that piques your interest enough to where you
- 17:53Speaker 1: feel like breaking that pattern and going out with them,
- 17:58Speaker 1: would you be cool with that first date being at
- 18:02Speaker 1: Chick fil A?
- 18:05Speaker 2: Sure?
- 18:06Speaker 1: Okay? Would you be okay with a first date being
- 18:09Speaker 1: at Dairy Queen some steak, fingers and gravy, maybe a blizzard.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Yeah, if you can find one around here, sure.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Sonic drive in. Maybe get you a chili dog in,
- 18:28Speaker 1: some tater tots, also a sweet treat.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Not so, what I'm gonna say I'm gonna say no
- 18:37Speaker 3: to Sonic is just because they need be eating in
- 18:38Speaker 3: the car and awkward conversation.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Got well, they do have the patio tables, all right.
- 18:44Speaker 1: What about Pizza Hut? Now this one's weird because Pizza
- 18:47Speaker 1: Hut I don't think it's Pizza Hut that currently has
- 18:51Speaker 1: any walk in locations, but Pizza Inn has someone in Dfwy.
- 18:56Speaker 1: I think there's one a Mesquite. We talked about recently,
- 18:58Speaker 1: there are a few pizza inns you could go in
- 18:59Speaker 1: and do the.
- 18:59Speaker 3: Buff if i've especially if I found a Pizza Hut
- 19:02Speaker 3: that still was old school and had the inside dining
- 19:05Speaker 3: yeah out all over it.
- 19:06Speaker 2: If she doesn't like it, she'd sit in the car.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Along with that, along with that sort of tinted faux
- 19:15Speaker 1: patio dining from the eighties in the.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Early nineties, brown roof with the red thing. Yes, yes, yes.
- 19:24Speaker 1: The reason why I bring this up is because Chick
- 19:26Speaker 1: fil A has topped the list of preferred first date
- 19:30Speaker 1: spots for American men. Yeah Dating News. They surveyed three
- 19:37Speaker 1: thousand participants in According to their results, the survey found
- 19:41Speaker 1: that sixteen percent of men favored Chick fil A, along
- 19:44Speaker 1: with Dairy Queen, Sonic and Pizza Hut, ranking among the
- 19:49Speaker 1: top choices for a first date. Number five on that
- 19:52Speaker 1: list McDonald's number six, which makes sense for everybody, especially
- 19:57Speaker 1: in this day and age, when you have your first
- 19:58Speaker 1: meet cute ir al is the coffee shop. That's number six.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Number seven is a movie marathon at home. That is
- 20:07Speaker 1: not a first date thing that honestly, a movie marathon
- 20:12Speaker 1: is just like that's what you do with the family
- 20:14Speaker 1: and the kids weighed on the line. One movie. That's
- 20:17Speaker 1: a date more than one. That's a big commitment. Number
- 20:24Speaker 1: eight a food truck. At least that's a little more
- 20:26Speaker 1: creative and the food can be you know, interesting. Number
- 20:30Speaker 1: nine a creative picnic. I don't know what they mean
- 20:32Speaker 1: by creative picnic. I mean, to me, picnic is just
- 20:34Speaker 1: you're just eating outside. I don't know how creative you
- 20:37Speaker 1: can get with that. Well.
- 20:38Speaker 3: I mean, if you're going to the trouble of putting
- 20:40Speaker 3: together a picnic basket, I think you get creativity points
- 20:46Speaker 3: just on the top.
- 20:47Speaker 1: And and but what if you know what if you
- 20:49Speaker 1: take any of these other spots on the list and
- 20:52Speaker 1: throw them in the picnic basket at number nine, like
- 20:55Speaker 1: a Chick fil A in the basket, I think that
- 20:56Speaker 1: sounds pretty good.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:57Speaker 3: I mean, if if you go to the trouble of
- 20:59Speaker 3: put a blanket together and the utensils and everything else
- 21:02Speaker 3: that actually have a picnic good on you, you should get
- 21:05Speaker 3: bonus points.
- 21:07Speaker 1: Also, i'd recommend some amdro just to help keep the
- 21:11Speaker 1: ants away. Just a suggestion. Also some Skeeter Sprae. Yeah,
- 21:19Speaker 1: get you some off, get you some cutter, something with
- 21:23Speaker 1: a high amount of deat, lots and lots of dat
- 21:28Speaker 1: and finally just a generic drive through. So that's the
- 21:30Speaker 1: top ten top ten first date spots according to men.
- 21:34Speaker 1: And it's not just the dudes, because apparently women are
- 21:37Speaker 1: kind of okay with this as well. The preference for
- 21:39Speaker 1: fast food venues is echoed by women. Sixty six percent
- 21:43Speaker 1: indicated they would agree to a first date at establishments
- 21:46Speaker 1: like McDonald's. By the way, I'm not sure if I
- 21:49Speaker 1: mentioned it on the men's list, McDonald's number five. Where
- 21:54Speaker 1: was the It was a national survey, so I cannot
- 21:58Speaker 1: give you geographical areas on this, and I'm with you.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Does it when women When sixty six percent of women
- 22:03Speaker 1: say they're okay with a fast food first date spot,
- 22:05Speaker 1: I smell a stinky.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that is I think I believe guys.
- 22:16Speaker 3: Yes, in this day and age, especially because where I
- 22:20Speaker 3: think there is such a gap, and I see it
- 22:22Speaker 3: more in younger uh, younger people of expectations versus reality
- 22:29Speaker 3: when it comes to what people make, what they're willing
- 22:32Speaker 3: to spend, what everything else, and especially on the female side,
- 22:39Speaker 3: not bagging on them, but especially a lot of younger
- 22:41Speaker 3: females think, you know, their guys should be making you know,
- 22:45Speaker 3: they need to be making big money just to date them.
- 22:48Speaker 2: Yeah, and I I mean, I trust me.
- 22:50Speaker 3: I see it every day and in what I do
- 22:53Speaker 3: and running a high end cocktail lounge, and so yeah,
- 23:00Speaker 3: I've really I think there are a lot of women
- 23:03Speaker 3: who were, you know, thinking they're giving the the answer
- 23:07Speaker 3: people wanted to hear, but not the answer that's the truth.
- 23:11Speaker 1: In other words, a big old stinky. You remember the
- 23:16Speaker 1: scene in Jurassic Park when Jeff Goldbloom walks up on
- 23:19Speaker 1: the Tri Tri Serrah toops or the or the I
- 23:21Speaker 1: think it was the t Rex.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Mm hmmm.
- 23:24Speaker 1: That's what we're all smelling.
- 23:31Speaker 4: Al b phone, you're listening to the Treehouse.
- 23:39Speaker 5: Pause it us online that Treehouse on air dot com.
- 24:01Speaker 6: You're in the tree House.
- 24:04Speaker 7: Visit us online at the Treehouse on air dot com.
- 24:11Speaker 1: This is the tree House. I'm Dan along with Trey,
- 24:15Speaker 1: very excited to be with you today. We've already covered
- 24:17Speaker 1: a lot of excellent ground, and we're about to cover
- 24:19Speaker 1: something even more compelling. I know that's hard to believe,
- 24:24Speaker 1: and I don't want you to think that I embellished
- 24:26Speaker 1: lots of stuff. I think I try to just hit
- 24:29Speaker 1: it just right on point as much as I can.
- 24:31Speaker 1: I try not to over sell, and I try not
- 24:33Speaker 1: to undersell, but just kind of hit it right there
- 24:36Speaker 1: on the head But I want you to lean in
- 24:39Speaker 1: very carefully here and pay attention because I'm going to
- 24:41Speaker 1: ask Trey a very very interesting question. Okay, so here
- 24:46Speaker 1: we go, Trey, are you ready for your interesting question?
- 24:48Speaker 6: I am.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Does this sound like fun to you? A naked teacher
- 24:56Speaker 1: was arrested with weed and sex toys.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Male or female?
- 25:05Speaker 1: Well, you've found me out because that right there was
- 25:11Speaker 1: a veiled sexist quiz because I'll admit when I first
- 25:17Speaker 1: saw the headline, I failed it because when I first
- 25:20Speaker 1: saw a naked teacher arrested with weed and sex toys,
- 25:22Speaker 1: I thought yeah, yeah, and then I found out it
- 25:27Speaker 1: was a dude.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a one.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Sounds like a good time one, sounds like a felony.
- 25:37Speaker 1: You don't know how accurate you are, my friend. I'm
- 25:43Speaker 1: gonna ask you one additional question. It's not very compelling,
- 25:46Speaker 1: it's more super super super obvious, but I'm going to
- 25:50Speaker 1: ask it anyway because it's fun. In What state do
- 25:53Speaker 1: you think this occurred?
- 25:57Speaker 2: Has to be Florida?
- 25:58Speaker 1: That is correct. Yes, not just any teacher, but a
- 26:02Speaker 1: Florida teacher. And it's not just a Florida teacher found
- 26:07Speaker 1: naked with weed and sex toys, Oh no, because Florida
- 26:11Speaker 1: man plus Florida teacher takes it to a whole new level.
- 26:17Speaker 1: So this headline more accurately should be stated as a
- 26:23Speaker 1: naked Florida teacher has been arrested with weed and sex
- 26:26Speaker 1: toys at the elementary school. So yeah, there's a that's
- 26:32Speaker 1: that additional layer of felony sandwich there. His name is Joe.
- 26:48Speaker 1: I will say this though. While he was found naked
- 26:52Speaker 1: with drugs at an elementary school in Florida, it was
- 26:56Speaker 1: on Thanksgiving break, so it's not like all a bunch
- 27:03Speaker 1: of kids were.
- 27:03Speaker 3: Around, so kind of like like last week, I think
- 27:09Speaker 3: it was we discussed the police officer that was so
- 27:14Speaker 3: you know, in an altered state that he was directing traffic, uh,
- 27:19Speaker 3: when there was no cars around.
- 27:21Speaker 2: All right, it was at a school.
- 27:22Speaker 3: It was the directing traffic at a school and the
- 27:24Speaker 3: school was out something like that.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Yes, it was the deputy who was at one point
- 27:31Speaker 1: named Deputy of the Year, was off duty and drunk.
- 27:38Speaker 1: While he was off duty. He was a small town deputies,
- 27:40Speaker 1: so he still had his squad car. But he was
- 27:42Speaker 1: so drunk. I guess he thought he was on duty
- 27:44Speaker 1: because he started directing traffic at an intersection and it
- 27:48Speaker 1: was in the middle of the night. There were no cars.
- 27:52Speaker 3: So yeah, so I mean sadly, the fact that school
- 27:59Speaker 3: wasn't in sech does make it uh less cringe.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, it's not like it was in the middle
- 28:07Speaker 1: of study hall.
- 28:13Speaker 4: You're listening to the Treehouse.
- 28:15Speaker 5: Visit us online at Treehouse on Air dot com.
- 28:38Speaker 6: You're in the Treehouse.
- 28:40Speaker 7: Visit us online at Treehouse on Air dot com.
- 28:47Speaker 1: Be sure to check out all things Treehouse at Treehouse
- 28:50Speaker 1: on Air dot com. I've actually changed up a few
- 28:52Speaker 1: things on the website recently. You can also donate to
- 28:54Speaker 1: the RMS Treehouse Listeners Foundation right there on the website,
- 28:58Speaker 1: and all the ways to do that are on the website.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Go to Treehouse on Air dot com. That is once
- 29:04Speaker 1: again Treehouse OnAir dot com. This is the tree House.
- 29:10Speaker 2: You're welcome.
- 29:15Speaker 1: It is Monday, December ninth, twenty twenty four. Birthdays today.
- 29:22Speaker 1: Simon Helbert turns forty four. Not only is he best
- 29:26Speaker 1: known as Howard Wallowitz on the Big Bang Theory. I
- 29:29Speaker 1: think that maybe one of the only ways he's known.
- 29:35Speaker 1: I think the only thing I've I can recall off
- 29:37Speaker 1: the top of my head that he was in was
- 29:41Speaker 1: a show called Studio sixty on the Sunset Strip. I think,
- 29:46Speaker 1: if I remember correctly, he was in that, because I
- 29:47Speaker 1: don't know if you ever saw the show. It was
- 29:50Speaker 1: starring Bradley Whitford from The West Wing along with Matthew
- 29:56Speaker 1: Perry from Friends Fame. May He Not Rest in Peace?
- 30:00Speaker 1: And it was sort of based on Saturday Night Live,
- 30:03Speaker 1: and it was written and created by Aaron Sorkin, who
- 30:05Speaker 1: also did The West Wing and If You Good Men Anyway,
- 30:08Speaker 1: I believe he played a cast member on that show,
- 30:10Speaker 1: and it was supposed to be a skit show sat
- 30:12Speaker 1: just like Saturday Night Live. And I think I think
- 30:15Speaker 1: he was on that and that was where he was
- 30:17Speaker 1: able to showcase some of the different impressions he can do,
- 30:19Speaker 1: because if you watch Big Bang Theory, he'll do the
- 30:22Speaker 1: Raj Like Big Bang Theories, Raj not ah Raj. Raj
- 30:26Speaker 1: is from his keet and somewhere on I thirty five.
- 30:30Speaker 1: If you see him, just you know, point him in
- 30:33Speaker 1: the direction of the trio, so we still have that
- 30:34Speaker 1: brown alert out. So he'll do like the accent, he'll
- 30:38Speaker 1: he'll he also does a killer al Pacino accent, which
- 30:43Speaker 1: he's done on Big Bang Theory. Anyway, That's the only
- 30:46Speaker 1: thing I can think of when it comes to Simon Helberg.
- 30:49Speaker 2: And the things that he's He's also.
- 30:52Speaker 3: A classically trained, like concert pianist.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Yes, like I'm trying to think of the.
- 31:06Speaker 3: I can't believe the competition that's in that DFW every year,
- 31:09Speaker 3: and I just drew a blank on it. But I mean, yes,
- 31:13Speaker 3: of that caliber pianist.
- 31:15Speaker 1: And look at me being cultured. Uh yeah, and uh
- 31:20Speaker 1: i'd know some.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Uh and also like a black belt in uh some
- 31:27Speaker 3: form of martial arts. He's kindly yeah, kind of a
- 31:30Speaker 3: fast and evidently was like a black belt at like
- 31:34Speaker 3: ten years old or something. I remember reading about it.
- 31:36Speaker 3: I was like, holy crap, that's uh.
- 31:39Speaker 1: He's a renaissance man.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:41Speaker 1: And it also goes to show you how good of
- 31:43Speaker 1: an actor he is because that one. And I know,
- 31:45Speaker 1: I know our Raj doesn't like Big Bang Theory, but
- 31:46Speaker 1: he's not here, so uh, you and I do. So
- 31:49Speaker 1: we're gonna enjoy this moment because that episode where Raj
- 31:53Speaker 1: and Wallowitz are fighting are supposed to be fighting in
- 31:57Speaker 1: the gym, and Wallowitz is doing those arms and his
- 32:00Speaker 1: wrestling singlet. That does not look like somebody that knows
- 32:03Speaker 1: a lick of martial arts. So that's a good actor.
- 32:06Speaker 3: Now I remember, Actually I I looked it up because
- 32:09Speaker 3: there's an episode where they're playing Dungeons and Dragons and
- 32:13Speaker 3: he's like the dragon or the master of the thing.
- 32:16Speaker 3: And the impressions he does throughout of it with Pacino
- 32:18Speaker 3: walking all and there was a couple more. I'm like,
- 32:21Speaker 3: holy crap, because they're good. Yeah, I mean especially the
- 32:26Speaker 3: one Pacino is excellent. But most people are so hacky
- 32:30Speaker 3: when they do their Christopher walkin impression, and his was
- 32:33Speaker 3: really good, and you're right. His ability to do to
- 32:37Speaker 3: mimic Raj was also the.
- 32:42Speaker 1: And you're right because the way that he does his
- 32:45Speaker 1: Christopher walking is a tried and true version. It is
- 32:49Speaker 1: an honest to god impersonation. It is an impression of
- 32:52Speaker 1: Christopher walking that Simon Hilbert does. And you said, it's
- 32:55Speaker 1: not a hacky version like so many other people. My
- 32:58Speaker 1: Christopher walking totally hacky. Honestly, it may not even be
- 33:01Speaker 1: fair to hacks to call mine hacky. Mine's just okay.
- 33:07Speaker 1: I want you to I want you to ask me
- 33:09Speaker 1: a yes or no question? Okay, and I will give
- 33:11Speaker 1: you my Christopher Walking impression. Okay, just whatever comes to mind,
- 33:20Speaker 1: Just a yes or no question.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Do you love your wife?
- 33:28Speaker 1: Nooel, thank you? I do one word, and that's it.
- 33:41Speaker 1: I can't say yes, I can't say I don't know,
- 33:43Speaker 1: I'm not sure I'll get back to you, none of that.
- 33:45Speaker 1: All I can say in the voice of Christopher Walking
- 33:48Speaker 1: is and only now. Aren't you glad you listened today?
- 34:01Speaker 7: Visit us online a treehouse on air dot com.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Aren't you glad you listened today?
- 34:07Speaker 6: No, you're in the tree house.
- 34:21Speaker 7: Visit us online a treehouse on air dot com.
- 34:27Speaker 1: You are inside the treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley along with
- 34:30Speaker 1: Trey Trendholm today one last little thing to tell you
- 34:35Speaker 1: about here inside the tree house before we take off
- 34:37Speaker 1: for the day. Actually, I'm gonna say it's two things.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Number one.
- 34:40Speaker 2: Yes.
- 34:40Speaker 1: In that entire last break, I was trying various words
- 34:44Speaker 1: to sound like Christopher Walking, and still the only word
- 34:47Speaker 1: that I can say that sounds anything remotely close to
- 34:50Speaker 1: Christopher Walking is no, and that's really it. Like Trey
- 34:55Speaker 1: asked me the question again, and I'll try to give
- 34:57Speaker 1: you a different answer in my Christopher Walking voice, and
- 35:00Speaker 1: I'll show it and you'll hear how bad it is.
- 35:02Speaker 1: Go ahead, same.
- 35:05Speaker 2: Question, do you love your wife?
- 35:09Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 35:12Speaker 6: Wait?
- 35:12Speaker 1: Was that okay? It was okay, It's okay, see you
- 35:15Speaker 1: at best. It's it's it's okay at best with any
- 35:17Speaker 1: other word. But if I say, now you know exactly
- 35:21Speaker 1: who that is, but all the rest of it, I die.
- 35:26Speaker 1: I'm just I'm trying to think about the things I
- 35:27Speaker 1: could read, Like what's one of the stories into before me?
- 35:30Speaker 1: See if I can do it in a Christopher Walking voice.
- 35:33Speaker 1: Here we go. The survey found sixteen percent of men see, No,
- 35:37Speaker 1: it's terrible. It's not even worth doing. That's why I
- 35:40Speaker 1: don't do it. I will say this if our brown alert,
- 35:43Speaker 1: if our brown alert is ever answered and we find
- 35:46Speaker 1: raj our Rage actually does a really good Christopher walkin,
- 35:54Speaker 1: maybe if we all do Christopher Walking voice at the
- 35:56Speaker 1: same time, he'll follow. All right, one last little bit
- 36:03Speaker 1: to tell you about inside the Treehouse for today. And
- 36:10Speaker 1: I'm sorry when I do this. Sometimes I save the
- 36:12Speaker 1: best story for last and because I like to go
- 36:15Speaker 1: out on a high note, and I'd like to point
- 36:17Speaker 1: out that this was not a high note for this guy.
- 36:19Speaker 1: But we are really, really kind of men of questionable
- 36:25Speaker 1: character sometimes, and this is a great example of that.
- 36:30Speaker 1: A twenty two year old man fell down and abandoned well,
- 36:34Speaker 1: and no one in a nearby village came to save
- 36:37Speaker 1: him for three days because they thought he was a ghost. Now,
- 36:55Speaker 1: I don't know if this matters or not, but this
- 36:57Speaker 1: happened in the country of Thailand. It happened in Tyler, Okay,
- 37:02Speaker 1: because I feel like if this happened in say, Tyler, Texas,
- 37:05Speaker 1: someone might have checked on it. But in Thailand, I
- 37:07Speaker 1: guess maybe they believe in ghosts a little bit more
- 37:10Speaker 1: than our East Texas brethren. Because here, I'm gonna set
- 37:13Speaker 1: the scene for you.
- 37:14Speaker 2: Here you go.
- 37:15Speaker 1: A twenty two year old man in northern Thailand fell
- 37:18Speaker 1: forty feet down an abandoned well and survived, but he
- 37:21Speaker 1: could not get out, so he started screaming for help.
- 37:24Speaker 1: No one came. The well is in a remote forest,
- 37:28Speaker 1: but there is a small village nearby where people should
- 37:30Speaker 1: have been able to hear him. So why did they
- 37:32Speaker 1: not come to his rescue. It turned out several people
- 37:35Speaker 1: in the village did hear him, but they didn't investigate
- 37:38Speaker 1: because they just assumed he was a ghost and they
- 37:41Speaker 1: thought the forest was haunted. He was stuck in that
- 37:45Speaker 1: well for three days before police who happened to be
- 37:49Speaker 1: driving by heard his screams and were brave enough to
- 37:53Speaker 1: infiltrate the haunted forest. He told him he'd only been
- 37:56Speaker 1: yelling once an hour to conserve energy, so it's lucky
- 38:00Speaker 1: that they were driving by at that exact moment. It
- 38:03Speaker 1: took thirty minutes for people to get him out. He
- 38:05Speaker 1: was covered in bruises, had a closed head injury, and
- 38:09Speaker 1: a broken wrist. They're ceiling up the well to make
- 38:11Speaker 1: sure no one ever falls in again. And now I say,
- 38:16Speaker 1: I don't think this would happen in Tyler, But according
- 38:18Speaker 1: to a poll, sixty one percent of Americans believe in ghosts.
- 38:26Speaker 2: I just they did.
- 38:31Speaker 3: Did they really think it was a ghost or was
- 38:35Speaker 3: he just like the village idiot?
- 38:36Speaker 1: And they were like, or is it Thailand's version of
- 38:41Speaker 1: Timmy on Lassie? That efing guy?
- 38:48Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 38:53Speaker 1: Oh god, all right, thanks hanging out with us inside
- 38:55Speaker 1: the treehouse today. We will see you tomorrow back here,
- 38:58Speaker 1: same time, same channel inside the tree house, see it
- 39:02Speaker 1: out h
