Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: It's your early morny praise party. I am Sherry Mackie.
- 0:03Speaker 1: It's time right now for today's word. Change your thoughts,
- 0:08Speaker 1: change your direction. Philippians four and eight in the Message
- 0:11Speaker 1: translation says you'll do best by filling your minds and
- 0:15Speaker 1: meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious, the best,
- 0:22Speaker 1: not the worst. You know, many of life's greatest battles
- 0:26Speaker 1: are not fought around us. Their fault within us. The
- 0:30Speaker 1: struggle often begins in our thoughts, long before discouragement shows
- 0:34Speaker 1: up in our attitude or fear affects our choices. Unhealthy
- 0:39Speaker 1: thinking quietly takes root. The enemy understands the power of thoughts.
- 0:44Speaker 1: That's why negative messages often arrive subtly. You're not enough,
- 0:48Speaker 1: You'll never overcome this, things will never change. You miss
- 0:52Speaker 1: your opportunity. You're too broken, you're too late, you're too weak.
- 0:56Speaker 1: If those thoughts remain unchecked, they begin to feel true.
- 1:00Speaker 1: What starts as a suggestion can become a belief, and
- 1:04Speaker 1: beliefs shape the way we live. Over time, wrong thinking
- 1:08Speaker 1: can become a stronghold. You may stop pursuing opportunities because
- 1:13Speaker 1: you expect failure. You may avoid relationships because you reject
- 1:17Speaker 1: you fear rejection. You may settle beneath your potential because
- 1:21Speaker 1: somewhere along the way you accepted a lie about your worth.
- 1:25Speaker 2: But here is an encouraging truth.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Every lie loses power when exposed to God's truth. The
- 1:30Speaker 1: apostle Paul urges believers to intentionally think on things that
- 1:34Speaker 1: are true, honorable, peer, and praiseworthy. Notice that healthy thinking
- 1:39Speaker 1: is not automatic.
- 1:40Speaker 2: It's a choice.
- 1:41Speaker 1: We've got to become guardians of what we allow to
- 1:44Speaker 1: remain in our minds. And just because the thought enters
- 1:47Speaker 1: your mind does not mean it deserves a permanent place.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Some thoughts need to be rejected. When fear sells you're
- 1:54Speaker 1: never making, God says I will never leave you. When
- 1:57Speaker 1: insecurity says you're not enough, God says you are fearfully
- 2:00Speaker 1: and wonderfully made. When Shane says your pastor finds you,
- 2:04Speaker 1: God says you are a new creation. God's word becomes
- 2:08Speaker 1: a medicine for wounded places in our thinking. Healing often
- 2:11Speaker 1: begins internally before it becomes visibly externally. As your thoughts
- 2:17Speaker 1: become healthier, your perspective changes, your confidence grows, hope returns.
- 2:21Speaker 1: You began to see possibilities where.
- 2:24Speaker 2: You once saw limits.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Renewing your mind is not pretending problems don't exist. It's
- 2:30Speaker 1: choosing to agree with God above fear. That process takes
- 2:34Speaker 1: consistency every day. You may need to replace worry with promise,
- 2:38Speaker 1: comparison with gratitude, and criticism with truth. Little by little,
- 2:42Speaker 1: unhealthy thinking loses its influence. Imagine what could happen if
- 2:46Speaker 1: you believe what God says about you more than disappointment
- 2:49Speaker 1: has said. Imagine living from confidence instead of condemnation. Imagine
- 2:53Speaker 1: moving forward without.
- 2:54Speaker 2: The weight of old lies.
- 2:57Speaker 1: You don't have to stay trapped by negative thinking. God
- 3:00Speaker 1: has already provided the prescription is truth. So today, be
- 3:04Speaker 1: intentional about your thoughts. Remove what weakens your spirit, hold
- 3:07Speaker 1: on to what strengthens your faith, because healthier thoughts.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Often lead to healthier living.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Oh fah, my God, thank you for the truth found
- 3:15Speaker 1: in your word and for the promises you speak over
- 3:18Speaker 1: our lives. Help us to recognize thoughts that don't align
- 3:21Speaker 1: with your truth, and give us wisdom to replace them
- 3:24Speaker 1: with what is pure, hopeful, and life giving. God, we
- 3:27Speaker 1: declare that fear, insecurity and discouragement will not control our thinking.
- 3:31Speaker 2: We knew our minds. God, strengthen our faith.
- 3:33Speaker 1: And help us to become all that you created us
- 3:36Speaker 1: to be in Jesus' name.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Now that's your word for today.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Take it obliged to your everyday life and you can
- 3:41Speaker 1: see to be encouraged and inspired. It's your early morning
- 3:43Speaker 1: praise party. I am Sherry Mackie.
