The CCP confines "peace" to the "One China" framework, rejecting Taiwan's claims of sovereignty or maintenance of the status quo. When Taiwan refuses these terms, the CCP resorts to military coercion, shifting the blame for conflict onto Taiwan. This disregards the democratic will of Taiwan's people, imposing a unilateral definition of "peace" that is, in essence, a threat rather than a negotiation.
