- JB: Right. I'd like to welcome everybody back to another episode of Sports Talk with J B and I'm your host J B and today we got our special guest on the show. No stranger to the show. Go ahead and introduce yourself for me, buddy. Troy: Shar from the woods. JB: guy who's a big LeBron James fan. That's what his jersey's just for him. Troy: Man, we know that ain't for sure. JB: Yeah. Troy: Everybody else knows. JB: All right, y'all just like I said, this is a special show for us. this is the second night in the road that we're gonna go live. So we're trying to start a new for football season. So we're gonna be talking sports first. We're gonna talk some college football breakdowns, what's happening around the NFL, some quarterbacks, the Jags, maybe a little bit of cowboys, the Broncos and Chiefs. We're gonna be getting into a little bit of serious talk about these sports. And also, and towards the end of the show, we're gonna do some we're gonna change the show up a little bit and talk a little bit hip hop. Who's the greatest? Talk about the top fifty rappers of all time. So I want to get Troy's opinion on that and see where he's where he's at with that one. So for now, let's go on and get started. Troy, let's start with the college football first. what are your thoughts about the top ten? I'll go ahead and give you the top ten starting from ten right fast. We got Alabama at ten, Texas AM at nine, LSU at eight, Penn State, Ohio State, Miami, Indiana, Notre Dame, Georgia and Texas. Now we know Ohio State was number one last week until Texas came back and hit that beat that ass. So you think any of those teams, you with the with the numbers I gave you just now, you feel like everybody's good where they at or somebody need to be Troy: No, I I I wouldn't have put Texas like I wouldn't have put Texas on winning that game. Like that was a shocker. You know what I'm saying? With any other game, like that Texas game, that was a shocker. I thought Ohio State was gonna run over that. But, you know, it's football, so you know. Never JB: Anything can happen. Troy: yeah, most definitely. So I I was I was shocked on that one. And you know, RT did all right, but he still To me, he's not that that dude like people want him to be, but you know. JB: Right, I agree. I said Texas was was down what twenty one nothing, came back and won twenty three n twenty three to twenty one. Troy: Right. JB: But like another thing you say by Archie, he he was looking see what his numbers was. He was twenty three of thirty seven for a hundred and ninety five yards, one touchdown and one interceptions. That's he got the win Troy: Okay. JB: you know, it was a ugly w I guess it was a ugly stats wise, but he got the win he did took deal to take the Troy: Right. JB: win, but I'm on with you on that on that's that's That that that's not good. I would've but I guess since they beat the number one team, they rewarded them with that. And again, remember it's still it's still early. Troy: yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Most definite. Without a doubt. JB: I think that there was a big statement though, coming back down from twenty perts, twenty one perts Troy: Yeah. JB: to beat Ohio State, the number one team. But that that looked at I guess that's pretty good. Let's talk Tigers, man. you feel like the Tigers are there was a lot of hype about them before the s before the season started. You think you feel like they're overrated or they right with me. Troy: I'm not I might tell you for me, I just think they gotta get their their running game. 'Cause you can't keep on putting that ball in that in the quarterback hand and think he gonna run the ball. They they gotta find a a true running back who gonna you know put the you know put him on their back. You know. Once they do that, they'll be all right. I think they got a good they got a r good receiving core and that tight end green. man, that that boy true. You know, so They once they get that, you know what I'm saying, together, I they'll be all right. You know. So and they defense not bad. They got some dogs over there too, but they just gotta get that, you know what I'm saying, that that running game, you know, together. But 'cause they start off well, but then after halftime they kinda like, you know, went you know, playing, you know, like they went to cruise control and then, you know what I'm saying, they try to step it up again, but Yeah, they gotta, you know, once they come to to to SEC play, they gotta they gotta step it up 'cause Mississippi State, shit, they they got a good quarterback, shit, Alabama and a boy from from A and So they gotta do their thing. JB: Yeah, he I definitely agree with you. I think they're for now they're good that's that's a good number for and number eight. like I said, they gotta continue to get better, improve. And 'cause they was already saying, well people were saying that they're probably the num the best team in the c you college football. Now go ahead and improve it. I know they're gonna make the playoffs. It's no doubt, so I'm not worried about Troy: More often. JB: that. And again, it's still early. but as usual, it's that top ten is always nice. You can't count a lot of these teams out at all. Troy: about a title but the whole Penn State, I don't know, you know. I just felt like well even with Indiana, I just think like, you know, they they was alright, you know. They were just, you know, they put a lot of hype on them, but we don't see this shit, you know. So JB: Right. That's actually that's if not anybody would have been out I I didn't agree with was that one been stayed in my opinion. I'm with you on that one. So let's go to this next question I got for you. Were you with all the concept with all the hype about NFL players going back to to college, how you feel about that situation? With I know a boy he he'd have been signed back with but you know how you know what I'm talking about. At the beginning he was pushing back. Troy: Once you declare for the draft, that's it. You can't go back. It don't matter if you've got another year or not. Once you once you know I'm saying sign that paper, you're gonna have a draft, that's it. I don't understand why they feel like you can go back. Why would you want to go backwards? You know? Like, yeah, all right, you got cut from a team, you don't think another team won't go pick you up? Like, come on, man, I don't like that. Now I I don't know why they even put that rule in you know what I'm saying into play like JB: with you on like you said, once you go once you s declare yourself, I know they changed it a little bit where you can long I know one time it was where you you can declare but long as you don't get a law I guess a a agent Troy: Yeah, eight too. JB: you can go back. 'Cause you feel like it's I guess this question there you feel like it's cheating 'cause you didn't had all this practice in preseason with a with a protein. Now you Troy: No, I don't think it's cheating. I just think, you know what I'm saying? Like you declare, like you saying, I I forfeit my my my you know I'm saying my right. I'm not gonna go back to college next year. I'm gonna go to the draft. So once you do that and you get drafted or you go under an unrestricted free agent, that's it. You shouldn't you you shouldn't be able to go back to college and play on the team. No, man, like that's that's crazy. Like I don't care what it you know I'm saying, what happened, like yeah, you ain't make the team You make that particular team, that don't mean somebody else can come pick you up. So that's what you gotta do. But that's what's wrong with this new generation. They gotta you know they don't know how to grind. You know what I'm saying? They wanna get it easy. Or if I don't make it, if I don't do well here, I gotta go somewhere else. man, like I don't like that. I'm old school. JB: Yeah, that that portal from here to here. Troy: Yeah, I JB: Yeah, that was like I say I was only No, that's two different things I'm thinking about, but yeah, it's it's like you say this is so different. I'm that old school too, but I guess these players don't know what they need to do, I guess. So I guess I don't know. That's a crazy one. All right, So that's trend that's that's trans that's transform trend more is right. Let's move on to the NFL talk a little bit NFL. The Jags. I know they beat Arizona. or they lost. They beat Arizona. Troy: Depira JB: They didn't beat on who they who who they beat on. Troy: Shit, who would have maybe the Browns. JB: Yeah, that's right. We talked about that. The Browns. Were you impressed with the win o over the Browns or is the Browns? Troy: Nah man, like you you can't discredit them because they're an FL team. So they they came out and they played, they played ball. Like so I I give credit when credit's due. They did their thing. Only I don't like, you know, they trying to mess over Travis. You know, I don't like that part. You know, you only give him so many few what you gave him, what, three, three snaps, three, four snaps on defense? Yeah, I'm s no on offense, like come on man, like that dude's a playmaker. JB: Almost seem like trying to see who else can do that. Almost seem like they're going away from that type of player. I I can't remember the last real player that played both sides like that besides Woodson. Troy: But then they ain't play it, they ain't play it as as much. They played it a little, but they ain't do it like on a Travis level. You know what I'm saying? When in college, but I think is if if Travis can go, let him go. JB: Right. Get your it I think I think in a couple of years they won't probably be like, look, you you might have to put you might have decided which way you wanna be full time. But that's what they was trying to do to him anyway. Seemed like no they want him to play one position. Troy: Yeah. And like he said, I think he was like on a pivot not too long ago. And he was like, you know, the thing is, once he gets on the field, he can't keep still. Like you putting him just on defense, he you know I'm saying, I I can't keep still I need to I need to be doing something. That's why he wanna play both sides. And again, if you do twenty plays and test the C exactly, to give him one game to let him do it. It's just JB: See what he can see what he can do, Mike. All Troy: I just leave her. JB: right. I agree with you. So I I of course actually back to the Jags, the the whole corporation. They they went thirteen and four last year. Do you think teams you think everybody's taking them serious or they just like you need to prove it to me in the p when they count in the postseason? That's when everybody counts 'cause every anybody can have a great nice anybody, but you had a great record but now show them what you can do in the in the postseason. Troy: No, but again it's just you know, a lot of teams once they do sell one year, everybody like, okay, now we gotta dial in. So I think like this year gonna be different. You know, with with Cleveland, you know, they just they they look bad. So that and and that was all all the way around, you know what I'm saying? They look bad. So you just can't put it on the offense, you know what I'm saying? Deep and shit. defense did it too, so we put it on everybody. JB: Exactly. Yeah, I'm we'll we're gonna see especially with with Lawrence. I th I know we talked yesterday about about Herb what is his name? Herbert step taking that next step. Troy: No. JB: I think Jason should be I'm not Jason, Lawrence should be c he should be in that same boat too 'cause he'd been the lead I think about seven years too. Troy: Yeah, 'cause him and just Justin Fields and the Olympus came in at the same time. So yeah, it's about time. You know. JB: Yeah, he should be on the least that list that we talked about yesterday too. it's it's time for him to take that step. My my if not even elite, just take just get in that middle b where he's at now in that elite elite quarterback. Troy: Mm-hmm. JB: It takes a lot to be in that elite status. Not too many in that in that situation. Let's let's move on to the next team we got. Let's let's talk about that the Chiefs. The Chiefs and Broncos. I'm not sure if you watch the game, but do you feel like from the from looking at the the Broncos offense, you feel like you think or it might be still two might be true? This is one game, don't wanna overreact. You think Sean Payton should take that playbook, that play calling back and and keep and do Troy: Yeah, without a doubt, 'cause that's what he do. That's what he known for. Like I don't understand why would he get at that that up anyway. You know? Man, if I was the offensive board in there, I'm like, man, he'll take it. You know? I'ma keep the the title, but you do it 'cause if something happened, it's gonna be on you, not me. So but that's what that's what he does. Sean Payton is a is a mastermind when it comes to calling plays. So I feel like he should, you know what I'm saying, get his place and start doing it itself. JB: I agree. Because he on the Broncos offense only put up one hundred and seventy six yards total to Kansas City's Troy: Yeah, I don't know. JB: three hundred and ninety two yards. So I I'm I'm with you that man. Per Peyton he's one of those those legends that's known for putting up numbers and coming up with some players that make you sh scratch your head, Troy: Yeah, right. JB: keep defensive coordinators like up all night as later than they are already. So I'm with you on that one. so Kansas City With them I know we talked a little about this yesterday, but with them adding Walker Man, I I think that I think me personally, I think that helps out Patrick Mahomes to recover during the season. I know I know he came back a little Troy: Yeah, a hundred percent. JB: early, but but that takes a lot off this man where he don't have to even though he didn't look like it, he was still running and diving and and everything the other night. But I think that getting him a running game, man, that really helped him out. Troy: Most definitely. And I I I don't understand why Seattle would let him go. JB: Right. That was crazy. Troy: But yeah, man, that dude, yeah, Walker, he listen, and the thing is it it it all depends on what the receivers do with Kansas City. You know what I'm saying? If the receivers play well and Kelsey have a good yet, 'cause last year he have a good yet for me. I just feel like once he got with with Taylor, I think he kinda you know, started, you know, he was tripping. You know, he he had the I hate to say, he got his wife The white boy swag back and left the, you know, you know, the color side on us, you know. But yeah, once like if the all if the receivers play well and 'cause, you know, my homes gonna be my homes. If the receivers play well, man, I can see them going back to Zubo. Without a doubt. JB: yeah, that's what I said. I'm not with with the with the running back they got now and Patrick Mahomes, I'm not betting against them. I'm not betting against Troy: There. JB: him at all. I'm I I think they're gonna be back. They're gonna be back representing the AFC in in the Super Bowl. Troy: Yeah, what JB: And I was I was I was kinda excited to see Ch Kelsey caught a nice little pass, but I think like about forty yards, about fifty forty f forty or fifty yards, something like that. That looked I was like, all right, Kelsey's trying to be getting it back. Troy: Yeah. JB: jump back to Denverside Boat Nicks. he struggled I know I I know I said the numbers earlier, he struggled I think a hundred and seventy six yards total. he struggled real bad. and I I think again that's part of that 'cause he d he to me, I don't know about the U trail, but he did not look comfortable that game. Compared to the Boatniks that was Troy: Yeah. JB: in the playoff last year in season, I know we just thought about the new offensive coordinator, but He just didn't look comfortable behind that center. Troy: Yeah, right. And hopefully, you know what I'm saying, like he just had like a I guess that week one jitters, you know, but yeah, like hopefully, you know what I'm saying, this week, week two, you what I'm saying, he play a little better. But yeah, man, you can't you it it then you know with a whole nother, you know, scheme that you're doing, if it the scheme ain't the same, you know, it it might take a little time. So that that's gonna play a part too. So hopefully, you know. JB: I'm I'm glad you I'm glad you you brought up might take a little time. Let's talk let's talk about do you think your p do you feel like them not a lot of starters not playing in preseason Judging from a lot of offensive offensive I'm gonna say offensive t teams, it put up some big numbers. I think this one of the highest scoring weekends, start open weekends in a long time. But do you feel like that hurts the chemistry or player spirit all the way around where you don't get starters not you better get the starter playing one one one series. Troy: Again, you know, I'm old school, right? So I I like that how it used to be, you know, they used to get the you know, you play a a a series, you know what I'm saying? First first game, second game, you know, the the last game you play a whole half. You know what I'm saying? And I feel like and that's I think that's where you get all, you know what I'm saying, all the jitters and you know, you work out different things. Like, you know, I'm old school. That's that's what I believe that's how it should be. You know? JB: Yeah, I'm I'm with you on that one 'cause that's how you get the chemistry and it and also you you s I won't I don't wanna say it's the injuries 'cause 'cause lately it been a lot of injuries. I know one year it was a lot of players getting hurt. Troy: That's another thing. That's another thing. They can enter so much because they're badly practicing. Man, what they're being passed one day a week. Man, back in the days, man, boys were in practice every day. You know what I'm saying? And then I just think the way these cats train and you know what I'm saying is they they ain't right, man. Like especially like in the knee area from the knees to the Achilles, man, that's that's what's killing everybody. JB: Right. I was looking at the the injury list. It was a lot of hamstring injuries. it was something else, a lot of strains. So again, I know practice is practice, but nothing like that real time that real time action. 'Cause it to me like to me it hurts again, they practice and practice, but it hurts the quarterback to the quarterback and receiver, that's you gotta have that that that chemistry. I I I feel like if it hurts it hurts the chemistry 'cause Now you're going out there and and one of and playing against another scrimmage against another team, you have no shoulder pads on. It's just like seven on seven football. So I think you gotta get like you said, gotta get tackled, get hit on that ground and like play a play Troy: Yeah. JB: a quarter, play a half. That helps. 'Cause you get probably what, about five series, four about four series. If you play if you play Alika. Troy: Yeah. And like I say, like I say the la I feel like the you know I'm saying either you don't want to do it the last game, you can do because the last game a lot of times it'd be you know you gotta see who you gonna keep you know, you who you're definitely gonna cut or whatever. But I think you should do the first game, you should play all the stars the first half, right? And then the second game you play them a series. And then you know I'm saying so you only were playing three three seasons, right? All right, so I would do the first game, I would play first half, second game, I'm playing a series, then the third game, I I'll sit y'all down. You know what I'm saying? But you you know I'm saying you then got some reps and you didn't took a hit and you know what I'm saying? But not playing at all like that's nah that ain't good. JB: Yeah, I agree with you. I agree with you on that one. So what you thought about your dog Aaron Rodgers? Troy: Man, I'm about to talk, I ain't even see him play, right? I ain't even gonna lie, I Pittsburgh. I you know, and then the thing is, I be forgetting that he is he with Pittsburgh. So, you know, you know, I don't know, I ain't even see him play. So I can't even really talk about him, you know. So just hopefully, you know, he does better than what he did last year. Because he JB: Yeah. Troy: he he he's he played like shit. JB: I ain't gonna lie. This this this had there's some good quarterbacks. I'm s I'm gonna say this quarter there's some quarterbacks put up some good numbers from from Shuck to Bryce who I'm leaving out. pretty much everybody, I'm gonna say they had some I was I was shocking with a lot well I have my stats in front of me, but I was shocked with some of the the quarterback at play act the quarterback plays play quarterback play I seen over the weekend. From that to running backs Troy: Yeah. JB: to a couple of receivers. Again, I I know we talked about the preseason not helping, but some of them players look look look good and some of was like, yeah, you can tell. Especially I think he hurt more defense. 'Cause seem like Troy: Yeah. JB: defense has got their asses whipped this weekend. not Troy: Fine. Yeah. JB: too many of held it down bes like the forty niners did. And you know Troy: But I'm about to tell you, bro, I was surprised with like the Packers, I was surprised with, you know what I'm saying, with the Rams, Cleveland. I I ain't gonna lie, I was thinking Cleveland was gonna be like, you know, even though our offense might be, but our defense was gonna show up, they ain't show up at all. JB: Right. Nope. Troy: You know, so like that was disappointing. You know what I'm saying? But I ain't gonna lie who our whole defense did, you know, shit, Seattle. JB: People I guess people forget about Seattle was in I don't say they forget but they don't get Troy: but JB: they don't get too much what praise Troy: Yeah. JB: you know, they don't talk about Seattle too much like they talk about some of these teams. Like Troy: Yeah, man, Seattle man. Seattle was playing broad. JB: Yeah. So I guess another another another one on if you saw the the Kyler Murray hit, you thought that was a think that was a dirty hit from Troy: And see how we need them. JB: From watching from what Ted was saying on on ESPN he was like, You can as a D B I mean as a as a defensive player you can you can you can you know where you're gonna hit that player at. And he felt like it was a dirty play, a dirty play. But Rex Ryan was like, nah, that wasn't dirty, it was just a a tackle. Troy: again, I I you know, me this person, you know, I'm old school. So they ate this had a game so soft. Man, listen, when I played botany when I was growing up, middle school coach said you gotta knock that nigga dick in the dirt. So that's how I'm looking at it. Like I want you to I want I want you to hit somebody. I don't want you to have to be soft with them. So I think like that's the problem. Like they be wanna be so soft with these players. Man, hit JB: So if if you can change I know you I know you're saying old school, if you can change one thing about was about what was if you can change one thing in NFL today and bring some of that old school back, what would it be? Troy: The target on JB: So we thought we would tag it. Troy: I ain't talking about I ain't talking about like you know you gotta be clothes lining people, you know what I'm saying? But I I need you like like the physical hits, like you know, the Ryan Clark hits. I need, you know, you know what I'm saying? Ryan Clark, Sean T, you know, I need James Harrison. JB: Yeah, not and not the same out. At water. Troy: And I I need those type hits. You know what I'm saying? Like, you know, I don't want you to come across the middle. You come across remember you already know what's around. You know what I'm saying? But just the physical play and then all that, you know what I'm saying? You you hit a quarterback a certain way, that's a penalty. And like, man, come on, bring some of that back. JB: Yeah. I you're right 'cause nobody fears going across that middle no more at all. Man, they hit that middle like it's like it's nothing. At one time you had to be a certain type of you had to have a certain type of yeah, you'd be certain you had to be Troy: Yeah. JB: a certain animal to come across that middle. 'Cause you knew you was gonna get hit. A lot of them a lot great even a lot of great receivers didn't go across that middle like that. It was Troy: I don't know, man. Listen, man, when people like, like I said, Ryan Clark, I forgot about your LaPartner, Brian Dawkins, JB: Yeah. Troy: Sean, man. Listen, you be scared to go across that middle, because you already know. And then I used to like that part of them boys go across the middle and they get the alligator arm. They'd be like, nah, I ain't gonna catch that. You know, JB: Yep. Exactly. Troy: that's the part I like, man. Like, yeah. And now you can't really touch nobody. And it's just, I need that old school. JB: Right, 'cause I think they changed so much because of they want the offense to shine more. You can't Troy: Yeah. JB: you can't touch nobody. Like you said, you quarterback you can you gotta lay down and fold his make give a pillow. Receivers got it easy. But you 'cause right now it's like you you damn you gotta be a hell of a cornerback to even stay with some of these great receivers that 'cause you know you can't touch like I used to I'm on school. I Troy: Listen, man. JB: like the Dion's the Darrell Woodson's, even Reavers, Charles Woodson, Rod Woodson, them boy that's that's that's a different type of generation in Troy: Yeah. most definitely. But then the thing is, like you cornerback they they be trying to downplay him, but that's the hardest position on the field. JB: Mm. And I I figured that out since my boys cause you know, my my kids used to be all of was at one time of their life was receivers. But then I turned I I started transitioning to that that D B corner, I mean that D B parent. Man, I man, watching my boys play, Junior, Jonathan, and and Jeremy, man, I was like, especially watching Junior Jonathan shoot you. Jonathan night even in college, still doing his thing, shutting stuff down on on his on his part. But where to see the stuff that he they got to Them cornerbacks, like you said, I know quarterbacks the hardest on receiver. I mean on offense, but that cornerback, you you have no plays off. You go to sleep one time. I mean you you one play you take off, you're looking at the back of that receiver's jersey. So you gotta be your shit. Troy: Yeah, yeah. JB: So I'm I'm with you on that one. so if you had to let's talk corners back, cornerbacks. if what cornerback in today's game you you think can can I I wanna say can play in in back in let's say in prime area. You have y you see a cornerback can do what Charles Woodson, Dion and Reaves did. Like in you go you go here, I'm a ch I'm I'm I'm gonna follow you instead of you go on that side, I'm standing over here. Troy: Sure, true. Like do do the truth. But that what he like, six one, six two? You know, you know, I like him. JB: What about the one we just got the biggest contract? what is his name? Gonzalez for New England. Troy: New England? yeah. Dude Dog. Here dog. I like the boy who went down last year. He in Houston. Sting me. JB: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Forgot about him. Troy: Yeah, he can play Ward in Cleveland. You know what I'm saying? JB: You know I think got exposed? Sauce. he he had his first year. Troy: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. JB: He was the pole in he I don't know, when they when they when they changed that rule a little bit, he had to really show his skills and technique. And I know he got hurt last year, but Troy: about a tight JB: it it it exposed him. Troy: he kind of reminded me of Richard Sherman, I live. He reminded me of Richard Sherman a little in Nazmi Nas Nasmi Asmawa, who used to play JB: But I'm coming through the signal went out. Troy: with with Oakland. JB: There you go, yeah. My Troy: Nasmi he reminded me of I love Richard Sherman and Nasme I Nas Nasme Osman Rock. You know when he used to play with with Oakland, but then he had left Oakland and went somewhere else. And when JB: Yeah. Troy: he went yeah, when he psh man, that boy was trash after that. Like even though 'cause like he was in that system, that JB: Mm-hmm. Troy: system worked for him. And I I I feel like sam the same way about Richard Sherman, like When he was in Seattle, that system worked for him. You know what I'm saying? Because, you know, he used to be getting work, but you know, but he always had a man over top. So but yeah, that's how sauce going there. But yeah, I'm saying he just tall. He feel one of them other tall corners, you JB: right. Troy: know, so JB: I know we thought I know we joke about it yesterday. you think Odell, if he's if he gives give him a chance from what you've seen, even I'm I'm gonna go back to the last last year and a half watching his workout routine. You think if the Giants really get his man because I he was in and out, you think the Giants really get Troy: Say Barbara. JB: that man a chance, he he still got it. I don't think he Troy: Yes. JB: I know they they consider Over sometimes over thirty is is old in the NFL but what do you buy thirty? Troy: Dude, but he still got it. He got me at like 32. But dude, still JB: Yeah, part of three thirty four. Troy: he still involved, right? Like you saw him in a preseason. JB: Mm-hmm. Troy: Like like the one play, yeah, he came off the line, he made a little move and went up the field. And the corner or the safe didn't even it was like what the hell? You know what I'm saying? Like he still got it, right? He just like when he was in Baltimore last year. He was doing what he had to do. You know what I'm saying? Man, I'm about to tell you if it the injuries played a big part with him. You know, if he wouldn't have got injured so much, man, listen, bro, do do is nice. JB: Yeah, yeah. Hell yeah, he was he was the one. I Yeah. Troy: Yeah, but it just that the end, but I'm about to tell you, bro. Hard bar, man, hard bar know how you how you can play. So you know what I'm saying? You just and again, you man, get at boy three, four, five targets. You know what I'm saying? You can run him that post in, you know what I'm saying? Going up, man, come on, he can run the route tree. So, you know what I'm saying? Come on, cause every day, the whole game, you know, I'm saying they're gonna at some point. Neighbors ain't gonna be doing what he doing because he's gonna get double. JB: Right. Yeah, 'cause he still a the the one of the c one of the touchdowns that the Giants got against the Cowboys, he took two people with him and lively went to the back end zone six. Troy: Right. JB: So he's still that that they still respect him. But I'm I'm with you. I'll I'd I'd love to see a comeback Troy: Yeah, you got to. JB: player. Troy: You gotta respect his game, bruh. Cause it's not like he a slouch, like he just like he fought it forty one, forty two trying to, you know what I'm saying, get out there. Nah, bruh. Like that boy, he still can run, like catch the ball, you know what I'm saying? So you gotta give him, you know, his props. JB: So let's let's let's go to another player. Miles Garrett, he got hurt game one. I I think they say he might be out for a couple of games. So you think that changes from everybody thinking of I he's gonna be out for a few games, not the whole season, but y you think that changes the what everybody feels about the Rams at the beginning of the Troy: No, no, because my thing is if if what you call him come back, he don't he probably happen. If big JB: Right. He was doing it. Troy: nine and once nine and nine come back, but he sh about listening. JB: He was doing it without Garrett, so imagine when them two together. Troy: Man, that board, man, A D comeback, man, listen, bruh. That threw a piece by itself. JB: Right. Troy: And then, you know what I'm saying? My thing is with Miles Carrot, I'm gonna tell you was just, you know, he was going JB: He Troy: against Trent. JB: was gonna get my my boy Trent from Niners. Troy: You know, listen, bruh. Trent ain't ain't really letting too many people do. You know what I'm saying? And the crazy part is he started off on you know I'm saying the defense left side. He was going against their right tackle in the beginning. But then he moved over. It went by Trent. You know what I'm saying? So but shit, trim handling his business. So JB: Right. This actually I know it's just only one week, but I mean I'm I'm I'm excited about this football. I'm excited about football, period. Troy: Yeah, but JB: So you have to you have to you have to I know you if you had to do a comeback player of the of the year, who who would you like to see that comeback player and get that time? I know we but for me, I already know it's gonna be Patrick. no he wasn't out for a whole season. He got her in the playoffs. So nah, Troy: Yeah. JB: nah, that's that's take him out. So I actually don't that's the only player I was thinking about besides love Troy: Yeah. JB: love to see Odell. Troy: Yeah, that's good. That for me that that'll be the person for me. You know what I'm saying? To see him, you know, really, you know, get his judge due because like a again, he just been getting hurt. That that that injury bug been, you know what I'm saying, really playing a number with him. Again, when he was in the Rams, he got hurt in the Super Bowl. when he was gonna win V P. You know what I'm saying? I believe he'd have won V P if he would have got hurt. So, you know, when he was in Cleveland he was doing this thing at this him and him and your boy couldn't get along. So but I hope, you know, he do well. JB: All right, so all right, fans, all right. All right, all right, fans. We're gonna switch it up a little bit. We're gonna do something different. So You want you probably see me and him on a lot of these shows. So we're gonna make this grow. But Troy: Yes, sir. JB: but we need y'all to help us out to hit these numbers. So we appreciate y'all. But we're gonna switch it up a little bit. We're gonna go on to a different topic. Like I said before, the the clippers are still running, but we're changing the soundtrack. It's official time for the barbershop after hours. Right now we're gonna talk a little hip hop. True, I'm not sure if you saw the top fifty, the top fifty rappers of all time. I don't wanna go through I'm not gonna go through all of Here we go, top ten. I'm gonna start off from ten. I'm gonna start off from eleven, 'cause I know this your boy. No, I'm gonna go twelve. I'm gonna do twelve. Andre three thousand is twelve, ye is is eleven, Nikki's thir Nikki's ten, Snoop is nine, Drake is n eight, Wayne is seven, Biggie's is six, is five, Pac is four, Nas is three, Kendrick is two, and Jay is one. And this is from the billboards and vibe top fifty. You have an issue with that? Troy: Now, first of all, JB: Mm. Troy: how you got Kendrick? And two. JB: Right. Troy: Like my thing is like Kendrick ain't put in that much work to be to. Like, yeah, he he can rap, but he ain't too. JB: All right. I'm I'm gonna challenge y'all. Troy: And then you got Nikki. Then you got Nikki. Come on, man. JB: Now, Nikki I understand why, 'cause Nikki broke a lot of records. Now, I won't go back and challenge you on the Kendrick thing. You said not enough. So what you think about Biggie? 'Cause Biggie really didn't put out a lot of Troy: I gotta tell you, I don't feel but Big ain't not a top five for me. And I feel like he more of a top five for New York rappers. You know, people be like, yeah, he like like nah his body of work ain't that much. And then you know what I'm saying, yeah, he you know, he a good storyteller, whatever like that, but nah, it wasn't enough for me. I I I guess from I'm from down south, but like Big ain't. In top five of me. JB: Let's do this. for me, I I don't agree with the top ten, twelve, whatever I read to you at all. I'm with you with the Kendrick thing. I think Kendrick's a good artist. but he's he's not my top ten. I would've took Kendrick out of mine's big, okay. But I would have left I would have moved I would've moved somebody like face for me, face and my top ten. If you're going by with What legends do, should put L L up there. L Ice Cube. Get some great ones. So give me your top Go ahead. Troy: But my thing is like how they got Andre, but yeah, like we had this talk at the barber shop, right? And one of my barber was like, Andre is in his top. But to me, he's not in my top five. Like he he can rap, don't get me wrong, but I don't see him in my time. JB: He's not in my top five either. I I guess Troy: And then especially on what he on right now. JB: Blue blue. Troy: L listen bruh, listen. Listen. My fiance brought us had got some tickets, right? She was like, yes, Andreak. So it was like, Okay. Bruh. That was the worst fucking concert ever. She was like, You ready to go? I was like, Hell yeah. Man, that shit was so whack, bruh. JB: So wait, wait, did he rap or he just did the flute? Troy: No, he just played the flutes and shit. Then he brought so I don't you know if everybody knows Sean Bon Short, he brought him out, right? And they was playing, but I'm like, dude, what is this shit? You know what I'm saying? Like he brought he brought like they had a a couple of guys who played in the second line of band, he brought them out. You know what I'm saying? They played a song, but I'm like, before all them, that shit was so whack. JB: Damn. I d I know I'd have I know how to been pissed off. I'm I'm coming to see Andre and you you playing the instrument. Yeah, he you can got one. Troy: listen. Will's falling asleep in that thing. And then like the town before him before he got there, it was like they was weird too. And I was like, 'cause she was like, I have to I just saw me say Andrew and I I was like, never again. JB: Yeah, I'm I I'll make sure I missed that one. Troy: Yeah. JB: let me answer this question. Do you feel like it's a difference between the greatest rapper and the greatest lyricist? You got some rappers that can rap but Troy: Yeah. But they don't got no substance. Yeah, JB: Exactly. Troy: most definitely. But that's that's when you put like like I feel like you know, Kendrick, J. Cole, Wiley, Nas, you know, Sometimes Wayne, Jay-Z, you know what I'm saying? They have something in their music. They JB: Kim, Rem another one every sister. Troy: Yeah, they you know I'm saying you hear it, you know what I'm saying, like they paint a picture for you. JB: Right, right. Troy: But all of them they got some of them like you know, they just be rather that's like young boy for me. Right? I can't get with him because I don't understand what he be saying. You know, like the note cap and I'll be like, you know, I'm like, what what are they talking about? I don't understand the music. JB: You know, you're not a young boy fan, bro? Troy: You know. Man, listen, young boy got he got I think two songs that I like, but one of them is the one with him and Kevin Gates. I think like that's like my all-time favorite. But it again it's because he got Kevin Gates in it. You know what I'm saying? But like no young boy, I'm not a fan. Cause I don't really know what he'd be talking about. JB: I'm a fan to some of his music. I can some of the stuff I can get to and I'd be like, All right, all right. I'm not gonna lie. I got probably like maybe twenty twenty of songs in it in my playlist on Spotify. So I I I I fuck with him. So next question I got for you. what what matters to you the most? The lyricists, the world I we say it a little bit. The w lyric the l lyricists, word play, storytell, punchline, the scheme. Troy: For me, Arlene. 'Cause you gotta have you gotta have bits and pieces of all that. You know what I'm saying? I need a punchline for it, I'd be like, you're that I I want p I I need to go back on it and be like, that yeah, that you know I'm saying you gotta have all that, you know? So when you when you do that, you know what I'm saying, you gotta put, you know, certain people in that in that, you know what I'm saying, in that room, you know, like, all right, yeah, that shit was fired. You know, so JB: I'm I'm with you on the album. I l wanna hear all that stuff. I like I like rappers that when you listen to it, sometimes you gotta listen to it two and three times, maybe four times, maybe five, like that's Troy: Yeah. JB: what you say. I know we was over the we was going to the to Jonathan's game Saturday and we had I had ape shit on with Beyonce and Jay. And when Jay said I hope I don't mess the lyrics up, he said, So who been lying to you, King? Wifey thought she he said lying king. And I said, No, that's what Hove did. I forgot how the lyrics go before that, but man, I like when I hear people like him, Wayne, and a couple of other ones be like, Yeah man, nobody else can put that or say it like they said it. and again you have a couple that can do it, but I like that wordplay where you be like Troy: Yeah, yeah, yeah, most definitely. But that's just like you know, I ain't gonna lie, like I was listening to Rod Wave earlier. Now I ain't gonna lie, do do is fire, right? But that's like one of the news, you know, schools that I like because like I can understand what he's saying. Even though you know what I'm saying, everybody like he's still in you know, he's still in their music, you know, whatever. But do get do be Do got some nice shit though, bruh. JB: Right. Man. So if you can give me your give me your probably get your top three. Can somebody be an all time great lyricist without having a huge caralog catalog? How many albums you think or how much they need to put in? I'm I'm not even talking about features. Give me an L how many albums you think Troy: I'm about to say I'm about to tell you you gotta put in work, you know what I'm saying? Like work, you gotta put in, you know what I'm saying, you gotta JB: Sure. Troy: be out there, you gotta be, you know. Yeah. JB: Yeah. Troy: And you know, and my thing is like that's like with you know with with Kendrick King he ain't got a lot yet, you know what I'm saying? I feel like his to me, his first album was his best. That's just my opinion. JB: Yeah, that that's Troy: You know. JB: right, 'cause again I was I'm a f I'm actually I'm I I've I'm a fan with him but I'm just not like something when I get in the car, I gotta throw that Kendrick on. That's just that's just not me. But Troy: Yeah, yeah. It all depends on certain things you wanna hear from You know what I'm saying? You might pick a song here, song there, but you ain't I can't go play your whole album. JB: Right. So that's let's do this for me. Give me your top your top give me your top three storytellers. y if you got you got five you can do five, but give me top three. Troy: said you gotta go with like J Nas kiss what else could I put up in that? That's for I don't know, I can't think it I feel mad that because in time. JB: And I think my my top three will be pretty much gonna be top probably top three in damn near everything, but I go face, course J. I'm not gonna slide, Cube a good storyteller. I'll throw cube in there and Troy: No. JB: I. Troy: I I can also put like again, like Rye Wave can tell stories, Riley, Kevin Gates. Like don't you know. JB: Yeah. Troy: So yeah. JB: Yeah, Gates Gates Gates have some five albums too. Right. So with all that said, give me your top let's do this your top five greatest rappers of all time. You don't have to do no one two three, one through five of your mountain just just five of Unless you want to do Troy: So now I I'ma I'ma go, you know Jay Z Eminem Jay Z Jada Kiss. Kanye and Fair. 'Cause I was watching something it was saying, who's better out rapping out of fab and mace? JB: Val was nice too. That's that's a good one. Troy: But I you know what I'm saying, just me personally, I just feel like a lot of people, you know, have Fab, you know what I'm saying, he underrated. Cause Fab JB: Yeah. Troy: put out, you know what I'm like all his music and the, know what I'm saying, like I'm out of this play, like when he first came out, you like, no, I ain't gonna play I can't play the whole album. But when it started coming to like the mixtapes, like the soul tape and you know what I'm saying Some other stuff, man, like listen, five. Fab as the man, bruh. I'm about to tell you though, you know who else? I'll be you know what I'm saying? Well I'll be sleeping on some time. But like his first couple of albums was Drake. It's Drake. JB: Yeah. I'm Troy: Yeah. JB: a fan of him I I ain't gonna sit here and lie to you. I I stay having him on. Yeah, he Troy: But I I I like more his old his you know I'm saying the beginning stuff. You know what I'm saying? When he first started coming out, you know, that's when I was really a fan. Like this you know, all those other antics he be doing, that I I I JB: And I ain't gonna lie, I think he's a he's he's great at promotion stuff he doing like that album that he three albums just dropped, that was that was some fire marketing. They get out of his last I think they said to get out of his contract, then you look at what is spell when you put together and all that stuff. So I I I I kinda like it. before I get to my top five, let me ask you this. You think you think people sleep on TI? Troy: Therefore. Cause I'm out of tell you. That T I versus Tip. Dog, that album was fire. You know what I'm saying? And not not this last album, but the one before that. I ain't gonna lie, like he got a song with him and Killer Mike. man, that's psh that's my shit. I just saw It was like a cipher with Kilamite, Demani, Tia Sun and JB: Mm-hmm. Troy: in Tia. JB: Mm-hmm. I'm gonna pull that one up. Troy: Duh. Duh, listen to what I'm telling you. Killer Mike killed it. He started off. Then Demoney came. Demine murdered it. But then T.I. came and he just, you know what I'm saying? He put the finish and move on. JB: Yeah, I'm about to check that one out. I was Troy: Yeah. JB: 'cause I always hear people talk about even his own sons didn't have him in his top five. I don't know if you saw that. He was like, Damn. Troy: like TR TR one of them dudes, bruh like people sleep, but TR like he he been consistent for a long time. JB: Mm-hmm. Troy: He's been consistent a long time. So yeah, TR yeah, I put TR you know top. You know? 'Cause he got some wordplay, he can you know, he he tell you the stories and everything else too. So yeah. JB: I agree. See, we're gonna come back to we're gonna I do my top, we're gonna go to underrated. But my top five I have again everybody's my top five, not y'all top five. So my top five could be all my new ornaments rappers if I wanted. But I I go J Troy: You gonna put turk up there? JB: Kirk don't know me, but I need him. Hey, Troy: Mm. JB: not you two. You two. But I had to go probably I go J Wayne. I gotta throw X in there. I'll be listening to his music a lot too. who else I have? Let me see. J X. I mean J Wayne X Face. I can list the face all day too, that's another one. That's who I listen to now. Yeah. Probably go be honest with your I'm I'm I'm gonna go ahead and put I wanna see. I'm gonna go ahead and put Drake in my top five. Like I said I'll I've worked with him. I'll listen to a lot of his music and he make that music I like to hear that that this year, then he gonna come back and sing to you. Sing to sing to the women. Troy: Yeah, like I say, you know, it just I don't got him in my top five, but he, you know, he in my top ten. JB: How you feel about Pusher? Think I know everybody says he he's lyricist and all that stuff, but you think he got a lot of hype behind him or he he that dude? Troy: Well, I like I like pushing man. Push it like I just feel like pusha more of a rap battle you know, he he he rap battle, that's that's what you you know, that's where he li I like him. You know, when you talk about, you know, pushing, moving, weight and all that, yeah, that's where he at. 'Cause he's gonna story tell about that. You know, he g he a good storyteller about stuff like that. You know, with the rap beep, you know, yeah, man. Pusha push it nice. I mess with him. JB: Right. So give me give me your who you who you feel like one of the most underrated underrated rappers who don't get that credit that they Troy: Fair. JB: have. For me for me, Juve, but that when people talk about Juve, bro, that dude he he can rap all kind of styles to me, man. That dude he just don't get his credit, for some reason. Troy: Yeah. Yeah. Cause I guess I guess because he's from he's from here. You know, and then JB: Yeah, stop. Troy: what I feel like once he left Cash Money, he didn't really have that that big push behind him. So he was doing you know what I'm saying? He wasn't well he came out with one album or two, but he wasn't really, you know, 'cause he was just really doing everything else, you know, his his old school shit, you know what I'm saying? It's new sh old stuff. But Hey man, Juven man, he Juve got them the bars. JB: Right. Man actually this, you think like you said, he when he left, he his his albums, he was cause he was dropping albums. I like Mardi Gras. Marty Gras a nice album for me. You think it was cause we were so used to hearing him on a Manny Fresh beat when he went to using these other producers, it just didn't sound like the old Juvie we knew. Troy: Probably, probably, probably. Yeah, because Juba man, dream of that dude now. And you see what he doing now with the album he just dropped like that boy. You know what I'm saying? Well out of everybody who dropped, man, he got the he he got the best album. JB: I agree. My my wife would tell you I wear that shit out. I wear it out. Troy: Like he got the he got the best album. Like everybody else is that shit is, you know, I ain't gonna lie. For me, Wang shit was the worst. JB: Yeah, I I w I couldn't get into it. And then it everybody keeps saying get past the beats but try to. It just wasn't what I what I needed. Troy: Yeah. Yeah. JB: Yeah, and I don't know why probably 'cause I'm a fan I want your top five New Orleans rappers also. But for me, like I used to talk about the people who dropped albums, I like the VG album, but it it's it's kinda like he was still trying to fit in. Sometimes the old stuff, Troy: I might tell you, bro. JB: sometimes you had a new stuff. Troy: Yeah, he he gotta he gotta he still gonna do, you know, his you know how he was rapping before, but he gotta he he gotta learn how to switch that shit You know what I'm saying? But my top five New Orleans rivalry, for me, Mac is one. Mac, Wayne, Julie, mix mystical. In And so just learn. JB: Yeah, mine's go. that's a good list. Real good list. I'm gonna go, Of course Wayne, Juve, Mystical. I like Kango Slim, me. Kango Slim. 'Cause to me, Kango is doing sh shit that you see, that's another one who sleep on. he don't get his his props like he he deserved too. shout out to Kango, man. That he 'cause from he was doing the the shit that doing too, from the singing to the rapping. He was doing that shit back in the nineties. Troy: And right. JB: It wasn't a lot of people that was doing that style. that he was doing at at one time. But I'll say Kango and and S I said Slim already, I said Wayne, Juve, Kango, Mystical, and Slim. Soldier Slim. That'll be my top five. yeah, but them dudes, we we got some talent i in that city, bro. It Troy: lesson, bro. Like I said, I like Mac because Mac now Mac was a storyteller too, so Yeah. JB: Yeah, Mac Mac Mac my animal. Troy: I I mess with Mac. I you know what I'm saying? I I roll with Mac. Like I said, Mac, Wayne, Julie, you know what I'm saying, Soldier's film, Mystical, you know what I'm saying? So yeah, that's my type. That's what I like, you know, so JB: One one of mona f one of my favorite story songs that Mac have the storytell, what is is it called that slow your roll? When he's when the young man when the when the guy went to jail, he said fifteen with a sixteen with a life sentence. He's in the he's in the cell with the nigga, the cousin that he killed. Now tell me how you feel, to look dead in the face. Troy: Yeah. JB: in that in that fire. Troy: Man. Matt, man. Listen. I I I listen to Matt till this day. Listen. But again, I like that old school. You know what I'm saying? But the last album he had, he got a song with it's it's Matt 3D naughty, fiend and currency, I think it is. Duh, when I tell you that thing, but fiend at the end, man, fiend boy, fiend murder that shit. JB: Right. That's another one that you sleep in October. Troy: That's another one. That's another one. Fiend Fah. He don't get the he don't once he left no limit, it's like, you know, you see him, but you don't really, you know, but man, fiend that dude too. JB: Yeah. Man. So before I I gotta before we get to leave out of the top five, what a b give me your top three women, d this top three women artists of all time, female rappers. Troy: You gotta go Foxy, Mia X. And E for me. JB: I thought you was gonna say Glorilla Cardi B and Troy: no, no. I'm not now listening now, you know I hey, you know, I'm a Cardiff fan, son. But she can't mess with she can't mess with me accent. You JB: no, no, no, not at all. Troy: know what I'm saying? Like like, you know, and my thing is I used to like Nikki when she first came out. I used to like all the antics, like, you know what I'm saying, how she used to be? Well, I just felt like she changed and when she changed, it changed that music. JB: think after she left Young Money, that would change? 'Cause that's kinda like when all this BS started happening, it seemed like Troy: And that's when she and then to me it's like she started trying to be a mean girl. You know what I'm saying? Like she ain't like she ain't like this one, she don't like I don't like you doing all that for what, man? Just rap, you know. Like we don't care about all that. You know what I'm saying? Like that's like that's why I like Cardi. Cardi like man, look, I'm trying to, you know, I'm trying to get on. So, JB: Eat gonna eat. Troy: you know. Most definitely. JB: had. I think my my top three will be of course Mir, my number one. Mirror Mir, I would say I like MC Light. I mean. So I wanna put it in my three. No, she's not gonna be my three. But gonna make sure this after this. I I wanna say Mia, C Lite. I'm I'm a I'm I I think I go hits wise. I'm trying to see. Foxy was good, got some nice hits. Eve did a thing. Probably go. Damn, that's a hard one, man. I'm gonna go Eve. That'll be my top three. Troy: Yeah, like I I ain't really no Lil' Kim fan like that. I don't think she was Yeah, I tend not to JB: I was about to I was about to act. Troy: say she more of a a New York, you know what I'm saying? That's like more New York, you know, type shit. Not ignorant, that ain't what I like. So JB: So what do we consider 'cause this is the one I was I was I was struggling on. But again, does she go back to not putting out enough music? Lauren Hill. Is she is she the rapper? Troy: And I I think that's the part that I understand. Like people be like, yeah, she like two. You put out what, two albums? JB: Mm-hmm. I think it was Mrs. State. Troy: Like I don't feel like she Yeah, I don't feel like she all that to me. You know what I'm saying? That's just my opinion. Like sh yeah, she good, but I don't like like how they be hyping up, nah, I don't believe in that. God done. JB: I I like some of my music. It's not like again, something I've just come on and put in. It gotta be a good little hit. But stuff that I do here it'd be some fire stuff, but that first album I I'm trying to I I wanna mess up the album. I think it's Miss Education or Miss Sutton. Troy: Listen, again, you know what I'm saying? I'm not taking JB: That was Troy: down from her, not taking on from her, but in the beginning, when she first came out, she was like, you know, doing her thing. But then, you know, like the music started falling off. Like, you know, like what are we doing? But people be like, yeah, 'cause she JB: So let's get down to this last subject topic we have. Wayne versus Jay. If you we're gonna w we're gonna go we're gonna do two different maybe three questions on this one. If you let's go off a Lyricist. Lyricist, I say the whole bag we talked about every everything. From back from storytelling, punchlines, to everything you say you wanted in one rapper. Who would you go? I'm not we should talk about Troy: Taking G over with me. JB: Yeah, I'm with you on that one. Troy: And the reason why, all right. If you just go by albums, not no mixtape, cause Jay wasn't a mixtape dude, right? JB: That's why I say let's not go off let's not even talk talk about the albums yet. Troy: That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. I would take I would take Jehovah Wayne. JB: I'm with you on that one. I I would like I I I need you to explain, but this one of those no need to explain. But man, so yeah, Jay was it's Jay. You see where he's at now and Wayne not too far from far behind him at all. Troy: I'm about to tell you the thing is with Wayne and again, this is just my opinion. What are you telling me this? What was Wayne's best JB: Call Troy: album for you? JB: it a three. Troy: Okay. JB: Yeah, w yeah I say call to three probably was for me. Troy: So for me, all right, name your top t all right, your top three wing albums. JB: One called a one, two, and three. Yeah. Troy: Okay. JB: Yeah. Mix wheezy, right? Troy: Yeah, no no no no no no no mix no mix. We're talking about JB: Yeah that Troy: albums. JB: Yeah that'd be my my I said one, two, and three. because I didn't care for that five hundred degrees shit that he did with cash money. Block is hot was nice. I forgot about Block is hot. Troy: It was alright. It was alright. JB: It w yeah, it was our right. It was the what we was getting 'cause you know but that'd be my top three Wayne's albums. Actually that's my question. Troy: Now I'm gonna take the Carter Five wasn't bad, right? Now I'll go back and play the Carter Five before I play, you know what I'm saying? Like one Carter Three was to me was the best. Carter Three and then five was straight. But you got some of that, you know, people like all Wayne Nego. No, some of all his albums wasn't like that last one. That shit was trash. You know what I'm saying? But everybody going off of of the mixtape Wayne. You know what I'm saying? When you rapping over other people beats, I'm talking about like your own shit. Like, man, nah. Wayne, he good, bruh, but he, you know. JB: think he got to that point where he was like, I'm wheezy, I'm just gonna put this out and give you a couple bars here and there. Cause 'cause it seemed like he I don't want to say he ran out of stuff to talk about because the man owned like twenty thousand damn songs and a lot of them songs he didn't rap about the same stuff. I'm gonna say same line yeah, I'm I'm right on that one. I I'm thinking. But yeah, I'm with you on that one on Jay so we we kind of got into it. So what Who had the best catalogue between him and w him and Jay, album wise? Troy: Changing. JB: Which what's what's your what's your number one album for Jay? Troy: So That full full full. that I I felt like that was the grown the grown man G. JB: man, yeah, that's what I was gonna say. Troy: Yeah, you know about a car. I'ma say the four four four the American gangster. I ain't gonna lie, to this day I can play that and listen to the whole thing and without skipping. the blueprint one and two. JB: I was gonna see I'm seeing I think mine's would be the blueprint, one in blueprint, black album. Troy: the dynamic stick. Yeah, the b yeah, the black album. I like I love the bad black album too. But that full four full, like dude, like that was like the grown man. You know what I'm saying? And the black album when he was about to leave, and you know that American JB: Yeah. Troy: Gangster too, bro. The American Gangster, man, that sh bro, you can play that just like all right. You can do a whole workout on that album. JB: They gonna have me do listen to that tomorrow at the gym. Matter of Troy: selling JB: fact, I am gonna I gotta I'm gonna get on that that album. So let me see what the next question I got for you. We tell your lives, we talk about that pretty much all this. Troy: But what what Wayne what Wayne So you saying one, two and three of the card, you can listen from the front to the fr from the beginning to the end? JB: Call the three, yeah, for me. That's call I'm trying to remember. Yeah, call the three. That's the one he had The baby piece of Troy: See, I'm gonna tell you, I can't I can't picture I can't picture it right now. I might have to go back and listen to it. You know what I'm saying? But like I said. Huh? JB: That's one three P right. I'm up on it. That's one with three P, right? 'Cause I'm on it. Fight the tonight Troy: I don't remember. See, I can't I can't. JB: hold the the right in this model. Troy: I don't know. I like I said I'm gonna have to go back and listen to it, but I ain't gonna lie, like I like the song. I think Carter Five. I think Carter Five for me, that's probably one of my I like 'cause the one with him and resume his daughter, the JB: Mm-hmm. Troy: one when he damn. yeah, I think so. Yeah. JB: Call the three had Millie on it, right? Millie. Mr. Officer. Mrs. Officer. Yeah, yeah, Carter Three for me. I I I think I put that again. Troy: But fine. But fine for me. I like five. I it yeah, it's fine. JB: So Troy: So JB: we we what other I we talked about Wayne and Jay, but what other artists you feel can give them a that be in that give them a run for their money? You can if you can think of one artist that's that can that'll be on that can give them a run 'cause I know everybody was talking about those two. Troy: Either is it gotta be the Kanye or a drink. They don't want to. JB: Same thing. That's why I go with you. Definitely. Troy: Because if you really look at it in a catalog between the both of them, you know what I'm saying? Like that'll be the only two. JB: That's that's the only that's what that's what that was my answer too, ask you at right here. So who you think was the bigger the bigger influencer between those two, Wayne and J? But generations Troy: Bought to say I would say Wang because he got niggas getting the tattoos in their face. JB: Age. Troy: You know what I'm saying? Like the the the earring, the lip rings, the eye rings, and you know what I'm saying? He started that shit the with the dreads from the braids to the dread. Like he started that. You know what I'm saying? With the the wallet chains and you know what I'm saying, just the whole, you know, okay. You know what I'm saying? Wang JB: For two look. Troy: yeah. You know what I'm saying? Witcher Carlum did, you know, add his shit too. Jay Z, but Wayne was more influencer than than than Jay JB: Yeah. Troy: was. 'Cause Jay went from jerseys to button ups, you know what I'm saying? But JB: But I was about to hit it. Troy: what but Wayne heat man had in there when skinny jeans and you know skateboard shoes, you JB: Like. Troy: know, stuff like that, you know what I'm saying? So yeah, most most definitely Wayne. JB: I'm with you on that. Wayne was a bigger influencer. Body marked up like the Subway in Harlem. so yeah, but like you said, Jay was Jay was Jay Jay had a lot of dudes, man, switch that that jersey, put them jerseys up and put that suit on, that shirt. so but yeah, but Wayne, I think Wayne got that one. So I think that's Troy: Yeah, we're having a thought with that soon. JB: So I think that's pretty much it I got for you this one. so again, man, I wanna thank you for f for stepping in for me, man. I appreciate that. before we go, you know, I always ask this, anything you wanna promote or anything you got going on? Troy: Man, all thing I got going on. We got about to get married on in two weeks. You know, JB: They're right. Troy: yeah, man about, you know, about to get that be off the show, bout to get married. JB: Hey, I'm gonna give you this advice. Give you this advice about this ring. Buy you about five I got six of these things. I don't lose but I have no excuses not to have it on. I got six rings, different colors. So get your get you a couple of those rings, even get you a couple of rubber band ones. But you get Troy: Yeah. JB: get you one that's for going out and one for every day. Troy: Yeah, I I so I got one for going for you know from every day and I got you I'm gonna go have two. I ain't losing nothing. But I got that going on and you know I'm saying at the end of the month and then my church having a we having a men's conference next week, Thursday, Friday and Saturday at House Olaf in the East. JB: yeah, man, I'm proud of you, man. You taking that big step. Troy: Yes, sir. JB: And nothing like nothing like that marriage life, man. But that's that's the talk. Troy: Massa.
