- 0:17Speaker 1: Welcome to jag Zam today.
- 0:18Speaker 2: I'm Conownie Stevens, Ryan Sexton, and John Osier are with
- 0:21Speaker 2: me today as we get ready for the home opener
- 0:23Speaker 2: here at EverBank Stadium this weekend. The Jags are gonna
- 0:25Speaker 2: take on the Browns and they're gonna both teams are
- 0:27Speaker 2: gonna try to get in the win column for the
- 0:29Speaker 2: very first time. We'll start out with our big things today.
- 0:31Speaker 2: Number one is desperation. Both of these teams had a
- 0:34Speaker 2: really rough Week one and so they're gonna go into
- 0:37Speaker 2: this matchup hoping to get their first win of the season.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Doug Peterson talked about what he wants to see from
- 0:41Speaker 2: his team this week so that they know they're ready. Well,
- 0:45Speaker 2: we just.
- 0:45Speaker 3: Again we the mistakes that we made, the subtle things,
- 0:48Speaker 3: the communication issues offensively, even some of the communication things defensively.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Have we have we corrected those right, and we won't
- 0:57Speaker 3: know again until we get out on the practice field.
- 1:00Speaker 3: So those are the things that and then ball security.
- 1:02Speaker 3: You know, we got to create takeaways and we got
- 1:04Speaker 3: to take care of the football and you know, I
- 1:07Speaker 3: think if we do that, you know, it definitely helps
- 1:11Speaker 3: your cancer.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Ran they're going into this maybe desperate. It's not the
- 1:14Speaker 2: word you want to use. Urgency, a sense of urgency
- 1:16Speaker 2: they're going to have to have if they want to win.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, the interesting part gives We're one play
- 1:20Speaker 4: away from the Jaguars not having to talk about desperation,
- 1:23Speaker 4: which they were asked about in the locker room.
- 1:25Speaker 5: Right.
- 1:25Speaker 4: If Javon Holland doesn't punch the ball away from Travis
- 1:27Speaker 4: Etn at.
- 1:28Speaker 6: The goal line, the Jaguars in all.
- 1:30Speaker 4: Likelihood win that game, and we're talking about the chance
- 1:32Speaker 4: to go to and oh instead of the potential to
- 1:35Speaker 4: go oh in two. So here's the number since the
- 1:38Speaker 4: merger in nineteen seventy, right, there have been four hundred
- 1:41Speaker 4: and seven teams that have started oh in two, but
- 1:43Speaker 4: only thirty nine of those have made the playoffs. That's
- 1:46Speaker 4: less than ten percent. So the odds are stacked against you,
- 1:50Speaker 4: especially in a loaded AFC with trips to Buffalo for
- 1:54Speaker 4: Monday Night football and Houston to finish out this month.
- 1:59Speaker 4: The Bengals did it, so it's not like it's impossible,
- 2:02Speaker 4: but it really stacks the deck against you. So choose
- 2:05Speaker 4: your word a must win opportunity, right, Maybe that's the
- 2:08Speaker 4: best way to call it.
- 2:10Speaker 5: Yeah, you gotta win.
- 2:11Speaker 7: And I've always thought teams that lose in week one,
- 2:18Speaker 7: if you come back strong in week two sort of shows.
- 2:20Speaker 5: Who you are. I think this is an opportunity for
- 2:22Speaker 5: the Jaguars to do that.
- 2:24Speaker 7: I expect him to play well, but if you go
- 2:27Speaker 7: zero and two, it's not good. And I think they
- 2:33Speaker 7: will show that they are a strong team and it
- 2:37Speaker 7: will show that they deserve this.
- 2:39Speaker 5: Preseason stuff we got.
- 2:42Speaker 7: I thought Doug Peterson all week has been a little
- 2:46Speaker 7: frustrated with the media because I think he's looking at
- 2:48Speaker 7: it and saying, look, we have to finish games. It's
- 2:53Speaker 7: not that complicated. I don't know how else to say this.
- 2:57Speaker 7: We have to finish games or we and we will
- 3:01Speaker 7: be fine if we do right, if we want, we
- 3:03Speaker 7: will be owned to.
- 3:05Speaker 5: Listen, guy.
- 3:06Speaker 4: In twenty twenty two, the Daguars started off two and
- 3:09Speaker 4: one and then lost five games at the end of
- 3:11Speaker 4: five consecutive games, and this was the exact same line
- 3:14Speaker 4: of conversation.
- 3:15Speaker 6: Just finish, You're right there. Just finish. It feels like
- 3:19Speaker 6: deja vous all over again.
- 3:21Speaker 2: Right, sounds really simple when we say it like that, right,
- 3:23Speaker 2: just win, just finish.
- 3:24Speaker 1: It's fine.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Well, we have to see them actually do it on
- 3:26Speaker 2: the field, so hopefully they'll do that in game number two.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Home field advantage is are big thing number two today
- 3:31Speaker 2: because obviously we.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Want to win at home, but it wasn't really a
- 3:34Speaker 1: haven for the team.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Last year there were three and five, John, How important
- 3:37Speaker 2: is it? Obviously we know they need to win, but
- 3:39Speaker 2: also just making home a home field advantage again for that.
- 3:42Speaker 5: Well, I think it's really important.
- 3:44Speaker 7: I can't say it's everything, because you can do it
- 3:47Speaker 7: the other way, but it's so much harder to do
- 3:49Speaker 7: it being a great road team and then not coming
- 3:51Speaker 7: back and hold and serve at home.
- 3:54Speaker 5: It's a little.
- 3:55Speaker 7: Strange because in twenty twenty two it was such an
- 4:01Speaker 7: incredible home atmosphere, Brian, I thought it was the best
- 4:05Speaker 7: home atmosphere I haven't seen every season. You've seen every season.
- 4:08Speaker 7: You had home games that were unbelievable in twenty twenty
- 4:11Speaker 7: two and you felt like, you know, they sort of
- 4:14Speaker 7: owned Everybank Stadium. Some of this is circumstance. They had
- 4:18Speaker 7: a lot of games at home at the end of
- 4:19Speaker 7: the season when things were going against him anyway, so
- 4:22Speaker 7: it's not like, oh, they're terrible at home, but you
- 4:24Speaker 7: got to get it back.
- 4:25Speaker 6: Listen that twenty twenty two seasons.
- 4:27Speaker 4: People who are watching this will remember the Baltimore game,
- 4:30Speaker 4: which was one on the two point conversion at the
- 4:31Speaker 4: very end of the ball game when Zay Jones pulled it.
- 4:33Speaker 4: In the Cowboys game that was won at overtime with
- 4:36Speaker 4: the dramatic play made by Rayshawn Jenkins, and then those
- 4:39Speaker 4: two prime time Saturday nights back to back with a
- 4:41Speaker 4: dramatic win also caused in large part by Rayshawn Jenkins
- 4:44Speaker 4: over the Titans, and then everybody remembers Riley Patterson's field
- 4:48Speaker 4: goal to be the Chargers. This can be an amazing
- 4:51Speaker 4: place to play football.
- 4:52Speaker 6: You got to earn it right.
- 4:53Speaker 4: The way last season ended didn't leave a great taste
- 4:56Speaker 4: in a lot of people's mouth. The way that last
- 4:58Speaker 4: week ended didn't either. So this is an important game
- 5:01Speaker 4: for this team to come out prove to the faithful
- 5:05Speaker 4: in that stadium that they're back.
- 5:07Speaker 6: And ready to play.
- 5:09Speaker 4: This would go a long way towards creating sort of
- 5:11Speaker 4: a downward flow of just absolute momentum in home situations
- 5:16Speaker 4: for them this year.
- 5:17Speaker 7: You know one thing, on that guy, I'll take any
- 5:21Speaker 7: win they can get right, But those last five games
- 5:24Speaker 7: of twenty twenty two that Grim was talking about, they
- 5:26Speaker 7: came from ten points down in every one of those games.
- 5:30Speaker 7: Boy wouldn't the Jaguars love and need just a solid
- 5:34Speaker 7: We am I saying he can ever trail, but to
- 5:36Speaker 7: have a solid win where Again, I think this is
- 5:39Speaker 7: a game they need to flex and show. Hey, sometimes
- 5:42Speaker 7: you lose in week one, but we're a strong team.
- 5:45Speaker 7: We're the team we think we are. If they're the
- 5:47Speaker 7: team they think they are, they got proven on Sunday.
- 5:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I think a no doubt or where they just
- 5:51Speaker 2: lead from start to end would change a lot of minds,
- 5:53Speaker 2: change a lot of conversations around here. Our final big
- 5:56Speaker 2: thing today is going to be matchups. We played Cleveland
- 5:58Speaker 2: last year, the guys played Cleveland last You're a very
- 6:00Speaker 2: different matchup because of the players involved in that and
- 6:03Speaker 2: what we've seen from these teams.
- 6:04Speaker 1: One thing is the same though.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Miles Garrett is still a game wrecker still out there
- 6:07Speaker 2: on the field. Doug Peterson talked about what it takes
- 6:09Speaker 2: to play against him.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Hard to just blok him one on one, even with
- 6:14Speaker 3: offensive tackle. I mean it's it's a challenge, particularly on
- 6:18Speaker 3: third down or second law when you're you know, when
- 6:20Speaker 3: they think you're going to pass, it's uh, you know,
- 6:24Speaker 3: you've got to You've got to spend the resources to
- 6:28Speaker 3: slow him down. You give him, give them a lot
- 6:30Speaker 3: of respect. And that's that's what teams do, right, I mean,
- 6:33Speaker 3: that's what team You see it on film all the time,
- 6:35Speaker 3: and and it's just it's the respect of who the
- 6:38Speaker 3: player is.
- 6:39Speaker 2: You know, double team seems like it might be the
- 6:43Speaker 2: name of the game, but sometimes that doesn't even get
- 6:45Speaker 2: it done. Brian, what's it going to take to try
- 6:47Speaker 2: to keep Miles Garrett from going crazy?
- 6:48Speaker 4: And it's gonna take everybody on the protection scheme, whether
- 6:51Speaker 4: that's the back or the tight end or whoever stays
- 6:53Speaker 4: to execute their assignment. Famously, at the end of that
- 6:57Speaker 4: game in Miami last week, the back on that third
- 7:00Speaker 4: down play that it looked like Anton Harrison got beat.
- 7:03Speaker 4: It was the backsfolt Aaron had or not. He had
- 7:07Speaker 4: Anton the inside position and someone was supposed to have
- 7:11Speaker 4: the outside position. He let him go because he expected help.
- 7:14Speaker 4: You can't have that against Miles Garrett, who has six
- 7:17Speaker 4: straight seasons with at least ten sacks and at least
- 7:20Speaker 4: fourteen in the last three.
- 7:21Speaker 6: The guy John is an.
- 7:23Speaker 4: Incredible blend of height, of length, of size, of incredible bend.
- 7:29Speaker 6: Right. I mean, the guy can get so low or
- 7:31Speaker 6: he can just run over you. He is a great
- 7:33Speaker 6: football player.
- 7:34Speaker 7: Yeah, Bucky Brooks and I were talking on a huddle
- 7:37Speaker 7: up on Wednesday and we sort of came to the conclusion, Look,
- 7:41Speaker 7: it's a quarterback driven lead. This guy might be the
- 7:44Speaker 7: best football player on the planet who doesn't played quarterback.
- 7:47Speaker 7: There's other guys in the conversation that he's certainly on
- 7:50Speaker 7: the list. The good news is when you're playing a
- 7:54Speaker 7: team with a great player, as long as he had
- 7:57Speaker 7: a quarterback, you can minimize it. And again I think
- 8:01Speaker 7: they can. They're gonna have to double, they're gonna have
- 8:04Speaker 7: to chip. You can't leave this guy one on one.
- 8:06Speaker 7: But you can work around one great player. But they're
- 8:09Speaker 7: a very good defense even besides him.
- 8:10Speaker 4: And just to flip the script for a moment, you know,
- 8:12Speaker 4: the Jaguars have two very good pass rushers that they're
- 8:14Speaker 4: excited about as well three with Rick Armstead, who notched
- 8:17Speaker 4: his first Jaguar sack last week in Kai. Both starting
- 8:20Speaker 4: offensive tackles were limited in practice this week for the Browns,
- 8:24Speaker 4: one with a knee, one with an elbow. Maybe the
- 8:28Speaker 4: Jaguars can flip the script and make life very difficult
- 8:31Speaker 4: for Deshaun Watson, who the Cowboys put on the ground
- 8:34Speaker 4: six times on Sunday.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Sure that will be part of the game plan. Stay
- 8:37Speaker 2: with us here on Jagzam. Coming up after the break,
- 8:38Speaker 2: we're gonna talk more in depth about what Cleveland's bringing
- 8:41Speaker 2: a talent, what the Jags are going to try to do.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Tagsam Rocky by Fields Auto Group. You can see Fields first,
- 8:50Speaker 2: Jacksonville's premier luxury auto group.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Go to Fields Auto dot com. Welcome back into Jagzam.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Here we're gonna break down this matchup against the Lynn Browns.
- 9:00Speaker 2: This is a team that the Jags played last year,
- 9:02Speaker 2: probably a game we would like to forget. That was
- 9:04Speaker 2: a tough one, I think the start of the skid
- 9:06Speaker 2: there in December. But this is going to be completely
- 9:08Speaker 2: different this time around because of the players involved. Obviously,
- 9:11Speaker 2: Deshaun Watson's going to be in at quarterback and one
- 9:13Speaker 2: of the players that hurt the Jags last year, David
- 9:15Speaker 2: and Joku, their tight end, is not expected to play,
- 9:18Speaker 2: so that'll definitely affect their offensive game plan, Brian, what
- 9:21Speaker 2: should we expect from this offense? I know Deshaun Watson
- 9:23Speaker 2: in the past with the Texans has had his way
- 9:26Speaker 2: with Jaguars.
- 9:27Speaker 4: Well, it's funny I asked Doug that question yesterday because
- 9:29Speaker 4: I'm not quite sure. I mean, Nick Chubb got hurt
- 9:31Speaker 4: last year and he was their offensive personality. They were
- 9:34Speaker 4: a power running team behind a really good offensive line,
- 9:38Speaker 4: and it's set up everything else that they want to do.
- 9:40Speaker 4: But Jerome Ford is not Chubb. He's not back yet,
- 9:43Speaker 4: and everything else they wanted to do went through David
- 9:45Speaker 4: and Joku. So what you've got as a team that's
- 9:47Speaker 4: coming in here with a quarterback behind an offensive line
- 9:50Speaker 4: that doesn't seem to be playing John with a lot
- 9:52Speaker 4: of confidence right now, and without Djoku and Chobb, Amari
- 9:56Speaker 4: Cooper and Jerry Judy are excellent receivers. They're going to
- 10:00Speaker 4: try and go against Monterrek Brown and see if they
- 10:02Speaker 4: can make big plays down the field.
- 10:04Speaker 7: Well, they changed the offense in the offseason. They went
- 10:06Speaker 7: from that to a Kim Dorsey became the offensive coordinator,
- 10:10Speaker 7: and they went to a scheme that is more built
- 10:13Speaker 7: around to Shawn Watson rather than that. Even if Chubb
- 10:16Speaker 7: was there. They're running out of the shotgun a lot.
- 10:19Speaker 7: They're not a power running offense anymore. So it feels
- 10:22Speaker 7: from a distance after one game that there's still a
- 10:25Speaker 7: team trying to find its offensive identity. It clearly didn't
- 10:27Speaker 7: find it in Dallas early in the season. It's up
- 10:31Speaker 7: to the Jaguars pass rush, in my opinion, to make
- 10:33Speaker 7: sure they disrupt to Shawn Watson and for one more
- 10:38Speaker 7: week forced Cleveland into Shawn Watson to be sort of
- 10:41Speaker 7: a discombobulated team, which they were in Dallas. Not in Dallas,
- 10:45Speaker 7: but against Dallas seventeen pressures in addition to the six sacks.
- 10:50Speaker 7: This is a team, this Jaguars front is supposed to
- 10:51Speaker 7: presure the quarterback against.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Josh heinz Allan, speaking in the locker room yesterday, said
- 10:55Speaker 2: that part of their focus, most of their focus is
- 10:58Speaker 2: going to be on stopping to Shawn just from.
- 11:00Speaker 8: Last week too. Uh you know, you know Russier's having
- 11:04Speaker 8: them wrapped up and him still having that capability to
- 11:08Speaker 8: to get away. So just being dialed in on you know,
- 11:10Speaker 8: when you have him, it's gonna take probably more than yeah,
- 11:13Speaker 8: you know, one two people to get him down. So
- 11:16Speaker 8: you know, just just jump on him and hold on
- 11:18Speaker 8: for dear life. Uh, cause he still has all capability
- 11:21Speaker 8: of getting out of at any tackle.
- 11:24Speaker 2: Josh Hind's out on talking there John obviously the focus
- 11:27Speaker 2: getting to him and finishing, which they've put a lot
- 11:30Speaker 2: of focus on, and also giving him some credit cause
- 11:32Speaker 2: Josh was around in those days when Watson was coming
- 11:34Speaker 2: to town and doing the things that he was doing
- 11:36Speaker 2: with the Texans.
- 11:37Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:37Speaker 7: Well if I if you played against him or washing
- 11:39Speaker 7: him in those games, it was nightmares because you could
- 11:42Speaker 7: get pressure on him and he would escape.
- 11:44Speaker 6: Uh.
- 11:45Speaker 7: He hasn't been that guy with the Browns because he's
- 11:48Speaker 7: only played I think it's twelve games.
- 11:50Speaker 5: Thirteen if he count last week. Uh.
- 11:53Speaker 7: He wants to get back to that. He wants to
- 11:55Speaker 7: get back to playing free. When he plays free, the
- 11:59Speaker 7: po positives are that he can make huge plays out
- 12:02Speaker 7: of it. The negative has followed him in his career
- 12:05Speaker 7: is he tends to run into sacks. So if he
- 12:08Speaker 7: has a day where he's running into sacks, everything looks
- 12:10Speaker 7: like I talked about earlier, discombobulate it. If you let
- 12:12Speaker 7: him get outside the pocket, then all of a sudden
- 12:16Speaker 7: he becomes the guy he was. He hasn't been that, Brian.
- 12:19Speaker 7: And then the key for the Jags is don't let
- 12:23Speaker 7: him think he can be that. Don't give him any
- 12:25Speaker 7: sort of thing early where he feels like, Okay, this
- 12:27Speaker 7: is the kind of day that I can have.
- 12:29Speaker 6: The Drags never.
- 12:30Speaker 4: Beat him because they could never quite corral him, right.
- 12:33Speaker 4: And you saw a lot of dramatic plays he made,
- 12:35Speaker 4: but they're also the little subtle plays where he'd be
- 12:37Speaker 4: running to the sideline and you would think, all right,
- 12:40Speaker 4: we've got him for a two yard game or a
- 12:41Speaker 4: two yard loss at the last minute to turn to
- 12:43Speaker 4: throw back to the tight end or DeAndre Hopkins and
- 12:46Speaker 4: just keep pummeling you when you would think that you
- 12:49Speaker 4: would have an opportunity to get on top. I think
- 12:51Speaker 4: all of the stuff that he's got going off the
- 12:53Speaker 4: field once again, and of course the tragicity that his
- 12:57Speaker 4: father passed away, one of his best friends passed away,
- 13:00Speaker 4: a former teammate from Clemson. He's had a tough goal
- 13:03Speaker 4: of it, and it seems like everything is falling around
- 13:05Speaker 4: down around him again. I don't think you've got a
- 13:08Speaker 4: guy with a lot of confidence, John, and I think
- 13:10Speaker 4: I don't think you should have a whole lot of
- 13:11Speaker 4: confidence soon his offensive line, and I think this should
- 13:14Speaker 4: be a great game for Josh Heinz Allen and Eric
- 13:17Speaker 4: Armstead and Trayvon Walker.
- 13:18Speaker 5: Did to just take over.
- 13:19Speaker 7: I mean, the storyline in Cleveland is is he you know,
- 13:24Speaker 7: is he waiting to become Seaun Watson again or is
- 13:28Speaker 7: he an older to Shaun Watson in those days are behind.
- 13:31Speaker 5: I don't know the answer, but you know.
- 13:32Speaker 7: For the Jaguars, it's imperative that they keep that comeback
- 13:36Speaker 7: at least one more week.
- 13:37Speaker 4: The interesting thing is the story isn't isn't limited to
- 13:39Speaker 4: Cleveland anymore, right. The story was in the Wall Street
- 13:41Speaker 4: Journal this week about what a disastrous trade that is.
- 13:44Speaker 4: So he's facing it from all comers, and I just
- 13:47Speaker 4: I don't and I don't think for a lot of
- 13:49Speaker 4: reasons that he'll ever be that guy. But it doesn't
- 13:51Speaker 4: mean he can't make plays like that guy occasionally if
- 13:53Speaker 4: you give him the avenue.
- 13:54Speaker 2: And I think that's important, having that healthy respect that
- 13:57Speaker 2: he can be that guy, but not allowing him to
- 13:59Speaker 2: take over again.
- 14:00Speaker 1: On the defensive side of the ball, we.
- 14:01Speaker 2: Saw great I think I would say great mostly great
- 14:04Speaker 2: performance for them against Miami obviously a couple of breakout plays,
- 14:07Speaker 2: but they have such a dynamic offense. I was pleased
- 14:09Speaker 2: overall with Nielson's scheme that first game. But they will
- 14:12Speaker 2: be playing without Tyson Campbellho's dealing with that hamstring injury.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Touched on and already Brian, But do you think they'll
- 14:18Speaker 2: have Monterak Brown mostly in there? Darian Jones was impressive
- 14:20Speaker 2: in the little plays that he was available. Is they
- 14:22Speaker 2: going to be a team effort?
- 14:23Speaker 4: Well, I think they'll have a lot of guys ready, right,
- 14:25Speaker 4: I mean, Monterrek Brown has been here for a couple
- 14:27Speaker 4: of years. He sort of built off of that dramatic
- 14:29Speaker 4: play he made at the end of the game in
- 14:31Speaker 4: New Orleans. He has a lot of confidence. I talked
- 14:34Speaker 4: to Jerry and Jones in the locker room. He has
- 14:35Speaker 4: a lot of confidence. Of course, he had a couple
- 14:37Speaker 4: of good plays last week.
- 14:39Speaker 6: But I'll touch on something that.
- 14:40Speaker 4: John's going to hit on, and that is looking at
- 14:41Speaker 4: if your defense, your front goes out and dominates the game,
- 14:44Speaker 4: you'll be just fine in the secondary.
- 14:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:46Speaker 7: I mean that's philosophically in the NFL these days, it
- 14:50Speaker 7: seems like if you're gonna have high powered offenses, you
- 14:53Speaker 7: pressure them.
- 14:54Speaker 5: It's very difficult. We saw last week.
- 14:56Speaker 7: If you give a quarterback time fast receivers are eventually
- 14:59Speaker 7: going to be to DV. You can't cover a guy
- 15:01Speaker 7: more than four or five seconds in that situation.
- 15:03Speaker 5: So Tyson Campbell's lost hurts.
- 15:06Speaker 7: I expect Montera Brown to replace him as a starter
- 15:10Speaker 7: based on just the vibe you got from Doug yesterday.
- 15:15Speaker 7: Any test in the NFL these days is tough for
- 15:18Speaker 7: a beat up secondary. The Jaguars strength defensively is their front.
- 15:22Speaker 7: Their front needs to pressure Deshaun Watson into making sure
- 15:26Speaker 7: their receivers don't matter.
- 15:27Speaker 2: All right, Stay with us here on Jagsam coming up.
- 15:29Speaker 2: We're gonna look at what we think the headlines on
- 15:31Speaker 2: Monday are gonna be after the game. For eleven years,
- 15:37Speaker 2: Dreamfinders Home has been proud to call themselves the official
- 15:40Speaker 2: homebuilder of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Visit dreamfinders homes dot com

- 16:04Speaker 2: welcome back.
- 16:05Speaker 9: Trying to start that situation.
- 16:06Speaker 5: You know, I can't remember one, so that's why.
- 16:09Speaker 9: I try to stay that situation. Just keep taking in
- 16:12Speaker 9: one play at a time, you know. And I feel like,
- 16:14Speaker 9: just understand that the team has fuel confidence in me,
- 16:17Speaker 9: kind of just helped me. And I feel like just
- 16:19Speaker 9: everybody reaching out to me after the game. My mom,
- 16:21Speaker 9: my mom, calm me. She knew how much I wear my.
- 16:23Speaker 5: Heart on my sleeve. She's kind of recent.
- 16:25Speaker 9: I meant to shake it off and just continue to
- 16:27Speaker 9: be who you are, you know, and be where your
- 16:29Speaker 9: feet are and be great and uh, just go out
- 16:31Speaker 9: there and showing who you are in.
- 16:32Speaker 2: This week, could to say Travis VPN in the locker
- 16:35Speaker 2: room yesterday kind of back to his normal self. I
- 16:38Speaker 2: didn't down his bounce back, but we're going to need
- 16:40Speaker 2: him back to the mindset, the right mindset after that
- 16:43Speaker 2: tough game against Miami, kind of feeling.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Responsible for that. But now this is where we need
- 16:48Speaker 1: him to be.
- 16:48Speaker 4: So not every player will go into the locker room
- 16:50Speaker 4: on Wednesday when he has a day like he did,
- 16:54Speaker 4: and so I think he's a long way towards being
- 16:56Speaker 4: back towards one hundred percent, just by the fact that
- 16:58Speaker 4: he stood there and.
- 16:59Speaker 7: Smiled a different questions getting he's resilient and in a
- 17:02Speaker 7: day's sense, I think the basically, look what happened Sunday.
- 17:05Speaker 7: He didn't lose them in the game. His fumble prevented
- 17:09Speaker 7: them from clinching. At that moment they would have won
- 17:13Speaker 7: head he not fumbled, I think, But look, the bottom
- 17:15Speaker 7: line is even after the fumble, they laid by ten
- 17:18Speaker 7: and they had the Dolphins on their own twenty.
- 17:22Speaker 5: That doesn't have to be a game any fumble, nop correct.
- 17:25Speaker 2: A lot of stuff came after that play. Today, we
- 17:27Speaker 2: are going to do our best at predicting what the
- 17:29Speaker 2: headlines are going to be on Monday. So kind of
- 17:31Speaker 2: what we expect to see in the game and what
- 17:33Speaker 2: we think will take out of that.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Brian, what do you think we're gonna be talking about
- 17:35Speaker 1: on Monday morning?
- 17:36Speaker 4: I foresee raining cats on dogs, right the pun obviously
- 17:40Speaker 4: on the weather. I mean, is it ever gonna stop
- 17:42Speaker 4: raining in North Florida? I would like to drive home
- 17:46Speaker 4: without the rain or walk the dogs without the rain,
- 17:50Speaker 4: Like probably a lot of people who were watching this,
- 17:53Speaker 4: but listen, the Jaguars were much closer to coming away
- 17:56Speaker 4: with the win those three plays. Aside, the rest of
- 18:00Speaker 4: the day, we saw a lot of things to build on.
- 18:03Speaker 4: I'm not sure they can say the same thing in Cleveland,
- 18:05Speaker 4: where they were beat down at home by the Dallas Cowboys.
- 18:08Speaker 4: So I foresee the Dagwars pouring cold water on the
- 18:12Speaker 4: Browns and giving them an zero to two beginning to
- 18:14Speaker 4: their season.
- 18:16Speaker 7: Yeah, I went with brown out just because I think
- 18:19Speaker 7: this is a.
- 18:20Speaker 5: Game where you should.
- 18:24Speaker 7: If you're showing early in the season that you're a contender,
- 18:27Speaker 7: If you're a strong team, weak ones, weird in the NFL,
- 18:31Speaker 7: strange stuff can happen.
- 18:32Speaker 5: You win this game, you know, twenty.
- 18:35Speaker 7: Four to thirteen or something that feels solid, and you
- 18:40Speaker 7: just sort of make the Browns. I went brown out
- 18:43Speaker 7: because put them out of the picture, right. They don't
- 18:47Speaker 7: need to matter to you this week. It's how you play,
- 18:50Speaker 7: it's how you execute, show you're a team that can
- 18:54Speaker 7: beat a contending team at home and make.
- 18:56Speaker 5: It not be a nail biighter in the fourth quarter,
- 18:59Speaker 5: brown out.
- 19:00Speaker 7: Round out, And no matter who they played, if it
- 19:03Speaker 7: had been you know, Texans, Texans out.
- 19:06Speaker 5: Whatever, it didn't hand.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Good no brown out really works. You can tell the
- 19:09Speaker 1: journalism skills are coming in. I went with suns out,
- 19:12Speaker 1: guns out for mine. A little weather prediction as well.
- 19:14Speaker 2: I'm hoping the sun resurfaces this weekend, and I'm hoping
- 19:17Speaker 2: that offense we saw in the first half against Miami
- 19:19Speaker 2: comes back around. I think a lot of a lot
- 19:22Speaker 2: of what happened was based off that momentum swing that
- 19:24Speaker 2: we saw after the fumble. We've seen flashes of it
- 19:27Speaker 2: from Brian Thomas Junior from their running game even in
- 19:30Speaker 2: the first half, So I'm hoping we'll see a little
- 19:32Speaker 2: bit more of that offense what we saw in the
- 19:34Speaker 2: first half again this Sunday as well. I think they're
- 19:37Speaker 2: perfectly capable, don't you, Brian.
- 19:39Speaker 5: I do. I do.
- 19:41Speaker 4: I don't want to be over confident with the team
- 19:43Speaker 4: that hasn't hasn't won a lot recently, but I think
- 19:47Speaker 4: that right now they're a better football team. They're obviously
- 19:49Speaker 4: healthier on both the lines, and that matters if guys
- 19:53Speaker 4: do their job, which didn't happen in the fourth quarter
- 19:55Speaker 4: last week. If they just come out and do their job,
- 19:58Speaker 4: I think they win, and I think that they win
- 20:00Speaker 4: comfortable is not the right term. But I think they've
- 20:02Speaker 4: got a ten point winning them.
- 20:04Speaker 7: There's every possibility every matchup, strength of team, being at
- 20:09Speaker 7: home tells you that they could have a very good game.
- 20:14Speaker 7: There's no reason that they can't win this game except
- 20:17Speaker 7: for the like Brian said, they've lost six to their
- 20:20Speaker 7: last seven games. I didn't feel it, but after you
- 20:23Speaker 7: look back on it, Sunday felt like last season they
- 20:27Speaker 7: didn't execute when it mattered.
- 20:30Speaker 5: Until you do that, people are going to doubt that
- 20:32Speaker 5: you can do it. So they got to do it.
- 20:34Speaker 4: I talked to Mitch Morse the other day the center,
- 20:37Speaker 4: and he has a lot of confidence in them, and
- 20:39Speaker 4: he wasn't here for the losing right and he's witnessed
- 20:42Speaker 4: this team through training camp and he knew the backstory
- 20:46Speaker 4: and he is not concerned about this team's ability to
- 20:49Speaker 4: win a close game.
- 20:50Speaker 6: They just need to do it.
- 20:52Speaker 5: This week.
- 20:52Speaker 1: We'll prove a lot.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Absolutely, we're all going to have our eyes peeled and
- 20:55Speaker 2: hopefully we'll see what we want to see when they
- 20:56Speaker 2: take the field on Sunday.
- 20:58Speaker 1: So he was here on jag Zam one more block
- 21:00Speaker 1: and go over what we have the rest.
- 21:01Speaker 2: Of the week and what's gonna come up on Sunday.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Jags fans, if you want customized Jaguars furniture for your home,
- 21:14Speaker 2: check got zipcare dot com to browse all the customizable options.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Zip Chair is furniture for fans. Also this week's home
- 21:19Speaker 2: open or brought to you by EverBank Advantage you make
- 21:22Speaker 2: the most of your money at EverBank dot com.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Slash Jaguars.
- 21:29Speaker 10: It's a huge spark for our team, a huge spark.
- 21:31Speaker 10: And I told him, you know, I told him today,
- 21:33Speaker 10: Actually he may be a rookie, he might be quiet,
- 21:36Speaker 10: but that energy you had on Sunday, the confidence that
- 21:39Speaker 10: we saw come out of you, Uh, that's gonna help
- 21:42Speaker 10: our team. We see it and we feel it. So
- 21:45Speaker 10: whatever he's been doing, it needs to keep doing it.
- 21:47Speaker 10: And uh, he has a bright future ahead. It's only
- 21:50Speaker 10: his first game. He's gonna continue to learn, He's gonna
- 21:52Speaker 10: continue to get better and get more accustomed to the
- 21:55Speaker 10: game and our offense. So uh, man, I can't wait
- 21:58Speaker 10: to you know, play alongside him for the rest of
- 21:59Speaker 10: the sea in his Washington grove.
- 22:02Speaker 2: I think the biggest bright spots in the Jags and
- 22:04Speaker 2: in their game against Miami Brian Thomas Junior or the
- 22:06Speaker 2: rookie just so impressive right out of the gate. Even
- 22:09Speaker 2: his teammates impressed with what he was able to do
- 22:11Speaker 2: in his first NFL game, and hopefully we're seeing more
- 22:13Speaker 2: of it this week.
- 22:14Speaker 4: Well, if you're looking for a reason to believe that,
- 22:16Speaker 4: we'll see Evan Ingram and Christian Kirk get more involved.
- 22:20Speaker 4: I think the defense has to honor now Brian Thomas Junior,
- 22:23Speaker 4: his size, his speed, his clear understanding of the game.
- 22:27Speaker 6: Right.
- 22:27Speaker 4: I mean, this is not a rookie who's just running
- 22:28Speaker 4: a quick route. He is a guy who can get
- 22:31Speaker 4: it done, and that Browns defense gonna have to respect that,
- 22:34Speaker 4: which is going to open it up for one of
- 22:35Speaker 4: those other two guys.
- 22:36Speaker 5: To get going.
- 22:37Speaker 7: Yeah, he looks so much better, and I thought he would.
- 22:39Speaker 7: It looks like a pro, and he looks like an
- 22:42Speaker 7: absolute star in the mate.
- 22:43Speaker 5: So let's see what happened.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Anybody got a player they're going to watch during the
- 22:46Speaker 2: game or someone you expect to kind of bounce back.
- 22:49Speaker 5: I think Anton Harrison.
- 22:50Speaker 4: I mean you're going to watch him obviously because of
- 22:52Speaker 4: number ninety five, who lines up most of the time
- 22:54Speaker 4: to his side. But Harrison was so good in training camp.
- 22:59Speaker 4: I mean he was one of the stars of training
- 23:01Speaker 4: camp and last week it started poorly for him. Then
- 23:04Speaker 4: he didn't get help at the end of the ball
- 23:05Speaker 4: game and it looked bad for him. I expect him
- 23:07Speaker 4: to bounce back and rise to that challenge.
- 23:09Speaker 7: Yeah, I think the the group of Harrison etn Kirk,
- 23:16Speaker 7: you know, none of those guys had their best game.
- 23:20Speaker 5: Maybe throw Evaning into that.
- 23:21Speaker 6: Or Antonio Johnson and well, well we haven't.
- 23:25Speaker 7: Seen Antonio play at an absolutely high level because he's young.
- 23:29Speaker 7: Against these Browns last year, all these four other guys
- 23:32Speaker 7: have been star warts. You don't expect them to have
- 23:35Speaker 7: those kind of games. So I expect that Core grew
- 23:39Speaker 7: or you know, part of the cores to play well Sunday.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Sure, we'll keep an eye on the secondary as well,
- 23:43Speaker 2: Tyson Campbell out someone Trek Brown likely going to get
- 23:45Speaker 2: the start there, and Jari and Jones as well. So
- 23:48Speaker 2: enjoy the game this Sunday. We'll see you back here
- 23:50Speaker 2: on Jagsam on Monday morning as you go over everything
- 23:52Speaker 2: and hopefully Jaguars win.
