- 0:00Speaker 1: Some celebrity news you like that, gus.
- 0:03Speaker 2: So, for the past few months, we've all been following
- 0:06Speaker 2: that Nancy Guthrie case over in the US.
- 0:08Speaker 3: Now the missing mom of the Today Show host Rod.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Yes So to recap in case you've never heard anything
- 0:14Speaker 2: about this. So Savannah Guthrie is the Today Show host
- 0:17Speaker 2: over in the US, but on a much even grander
- 0:19Speaker 2: scale than our Today Show here, Like it's a big deal,
- 0:23Speaker 2: and there's a lot of attention on Savannah. I guess,
- 0:25Speaker 2: which maybe why they picked her mum. We don't know
- 0:27Speaker 2: why they picked her mum. But basically, these people, we
- 0:30Speaker 2: still don't know who they are, went into her eighty
- 0:32Speaker 2: four year old mother's house and abducted her mother, who
- 0:36Speaker 2: has never been seen again. No remains have been found.
- 0:40Speaker 2: They just don't know what happened to her. They found
- 0:43Speaker 2: a glove at one point, they found like footage from
- 0:45Speaker 2: her ring cam which shows like a guy in a mask,
- 0:49Speaker 2: which we can only assume is the guy that took her.
- 0:51Speaker 2: But aside from that, it's kind of been dead end
- 0:53Speaker 2: after dead end. The other thing with this case that
- 0:55Speaker 2: made it a little bit hard is there were ransom
- 0:57Speaker 2: notes being sent to all these different publications like TMZ
- 1:00Speaker 2: was the main one, but a lot of the ransom
- 1:02Speaker 2: notes were fake, so these other people tried to jump
- 1:05Speaker 2: on board and tried to get money and fake ransom notes,
- 1:08Speaker 2: so it's just a mess. There were all these videos
- 1:11Speaker 2: online from Savannah pleading with these people to return her mother,
- 1:14Speaker 2: who's also got health issues as well, so she's like,
- 1:16Speaker 2: if we don't get her back, she doesn't have a medication,
- 1:18Speaker 2: she won't survive. The latest is now a ransom note
- 1:22Speaker 2: investigators believe is actually credible, says that her mother died
- 1:27Speaker 2: accidentally in this kidnapping plot. So apparently they took her mother,
- 1:32Speaker 2: she died maybe from these health related issues, and in
- 1:35Speaker 2: this ransom note, they apologized for her death.
- 1:38Speaker 4: Oh we're sorry.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Basically, scumbag takes an eighty four year old woman.
- 1:45Speaker 1: And the elderly are so defenseless.
- 1:49Speaker 2: And then also they said although we're sorry we killed her,
- 1:53Speaker 2: they said we still want money for her remains.
- 1:56Speaker 1: They asked for Yeah. Wow, so they asked for a price.
- 2:00Speaker 2: And obviously I don't know what's happened beyond that, but
- 2:03Speaker 2: it's just it's an awful story, Like imagine living your
- 2:06Speaker 2: whole life and then at eighty four years old.
- 2:08Speaker 1: This is the way you go.
- 2:09Speaker 4: Yeah, we had a story recently and it might be
- 2:12Speaker 4: in front of courts, so I'll be careful looking at
- 2:16Speaker 4: our sensor. You remember there was a man.
- 2:18Speaker 1: That mistaken identity that you're talking.
- 2:22Speaker 4: Yeah, you know the one I'm talking about. It that
- 2:23Speaker 4: they sound they sound that he'd been like a golf
- 2:27Speaker 4: club or something. You have to say legend. Yeah, that's
- 2:31Speaker 4: that's the thing. Maybe they'd plan to kidnap her and
- 2:33Speaker 4: try and get a ransom, and obviously she's passed away
- 2:36Speaker 4: and awful, right like absolutely horrible, and not knowing there
- 2:40Speaker 4: would still be Samantha Guthrie would still be holding out
- 2:43Speaker 4: hope that her mum's alive. Of course, you know what
- 2:45Speaker 4: I mean. Even with that letter, perhaps that's put it.
- 2:48Speaker 3: To rasking money for remains. It's got to be like
- 2:52Speaker 3: the sickest thing I've ever heard. You just you a murderer,
- 2:55Speaker 3: and then you think you should be rewarded.
- 2:57Speaker 4: The lowest of the lower.
- 2:59Speaker 2: But also for so Vanagar three, I feel as if
- 3:02Speaker 2: you'll never quite have closure.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Yeah that's what I'm saying. You'd still kind of think.
- 3:07Speaker 2: And then how yeah, maybe she's not dead, like you
- 3:10Speaker 2: almost need to pay.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Not stop saying she should.
- 3:12Speaker 2: I don't know, you get the remain just be like, okay,
- 3:15Speaker 2: now I can just accept what happened, even though it's horrible.
- 3:18Speaker 1: It's the only way you can move on when you
- 3:20Speaker 1: know for sure.
- 3:21Speaker 4: You know, in Australia we're doing Missing Persons Week or
- 3:23Speaker 4: whatever it is every year. And the thing I've seen
- 3:26Speaker 4: people interview when loved ones have gone missing is the
- 3:29Speaker 4: fact that you never have closure, like you were saying that,
- 3:32Speaker 4: or you never quite know, you know, you still think.
- 3:35Speaker 4: There's like mothers and their teenage daughter went missing, and
- 3:38Speaker 4: thirty years later they're like, is she still out there?
- 3:40Speaker 4: Where is she?
- 3:40Speaker 3: What?
- 3:41Speaker 1: HAPs and crazier things have happened, by the way, where
- 3:43Speaker 1: they are.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Still you'd just be walking around all day long like
- 3:47Speaker 3: everyone you see, you'd be like them.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Yeah. But it's similar here with like William Tyrrel and
- 3:52Speaker 2: all those ones who were never found. Yeah, because they
- 3:54Speaker 2: keep reopening the case, they've got new evidence.
- 3:56Speaker 1: We see it on the news and they'll be like, oh, like,
- 3:58Speaker 1: it's just it's really hard. It got something to lift
- 4:01Speaker 1: us up, dude. This one's quite funny. I think so
- 4:03Speaker 1: t pain, you know, how good is song song? Are
- 4:10Speaker 1: you a drank?
- 4:12Speaker 4: Oh?
- 4:12Speaker 1: I love this song? Bartender or tipsy? I'm in love
- 4:16Speaker 1: with the stripper.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Yes, you're naming songs that aren't in our library.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Oh by your drank would be in there. You is
- 4:23Speaker 2: a you the letter bye you were drank?
- 4:26Speaker 4: No?
- 4:26Speaker 1: Well wow, okay, I'm embarrassed for you.
- 4:30Speaker 2: So anyway, why I'm talking about him is because he
- 4:33Speaker 2: was calling out door Dash on Twitter yesterday.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Because this is what happened is so silly.
- 4:38Speaker 2: So whoever runs the door Dash Twitter account was giving
- 4:41Speaker 2: updates on the World Cup. Now there's a new Zealand
- 4:45Speaker 2: soccer player named Tim Pains. They mistook Tea Pain's account
- 4:50Speaker 2: for Tim Pain's account, so they just kept tagging him, going,
- 4:54Speaker 2: te Pain, you gave everything out there tonight. We saw it,
- 4:56Speaker 2: and te Pain retweeted it, going, I literally don't play soccer.
- 5:00Speaker 2: They posted another one and he's like, who do you
- 5:02Speaker 2: think you're tagging?
- 5:04Speaker 1: They posted another one. He's like, stop tagging me in
- 5:07Speaker 1: all these posts. So obviously like.
- 5:08Speaker 2: An intern or someone just kept going and kept going,
- 5:12Speaker 2: and yeah, he's just kept retweeting him.
- 5:14Speaker 1: So very funny
