A federal judge has halted the Trump administration’s attempt to seize sensitive personal data from 17 million commercial driver’s license holders, blocking access to Social Security numbers and other private records. Twenty-one states, including Delaware, sued, arguing the move violates privacy laws and amounts to extortion. Delaware’s AG called it outrageous and illegal.
