Judge Blocks Trump Admin’s Driver Data Grab | Dover News
A federal judge has halted the Trump administration’s attempt to seize sensitive personal data from 17 million commercial driver’s license holders, blocking access to Social Security numbers and other private records. Twenty-one states, including Delaware, sued, arguing the move violates privacy laws and amounts to extortion. Delaware’s AG called it outrageous and illegal. The order also prevents the feds from withholding over $10 million in funding to the AAMVA, the organization managing these records.
