- 0:37Speaker 4: Oh, you've been coughing I've been drinking life Oh, you've
- 0:53Speaker 4: been nauseous And so I drink to health Oh, you're
- 0:56Speaker 4: kidding yourself Yo!
- 0:58Speaker 2: Yo! Yo!
- 0:58Speaker 5: Welcome to O-T-V.
- 1:00Speaker 6: I'm with Jeff.
- 1:01Speaker 5: Here on this Thursday morning. Only a couple of sleeps away.
- 1:08Speaker 7: Two sleeps. That's a couple. Unless you take a nap.
- 1:12Speaker 7: Then you're three.
- 1:12Speaker 5: I don't trust people to take naps.
- 1:15Speaker 7: I do.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Here you go.
- 1:17Speaker 8: I told you. We're going to poke the bear.
- 1:19Speaker 7: Here we go. Naps are great. Yeah, for children. Or
- 1:28Speaker 7: as you say, kids. A lot of people say kids.
- 1:32Speaker 9: I used to love a nap. I'm not a big
- 1:34Speaker 9: nap person anymore. I feel like I wake up and
- 1:36Speaker 9: I'm like, ugh.
- 1:38Speaker 7: You can't be too long.
- 1:39Speaker 8: While you're napping, the whole world's moving. You can't go
- 1:41Speaker 8: into REMs. While you're sleeping, the whole world's moving too, bud.
- 1:46Speaker 7: Wow.
- 1:46Speaker 8: No.
- 1:47Speaker 7: Not the whole world.
- 1:48Speaker 9: Maybe like the other side of the world is.
- 1:52Speaker 7: Literally, the world's moving. Yeah.
- 1:54Speaker 10: True. It do always be moving.
- 1:55Speaker 7: It do always be moving. You want to get literal
- 1:57Speaker 7: for sure.
- 1:58Speaker 8: The Bible does tell you to rest.
- 2:04Speaker 5: It doesn't say nap. He's going to rest in a chair. Anyways.
- 2:13Speaker 10: I found all 78 people on staff.
- 2:15Speaker 7: You did? Okay, good.
- 2:17Speaker 2: Oh, wow.
- 2:19Speaker 9: And they also actually have three interns, so it actually
- 2:22Speaker 9: gets to 81 total people.
- 2:24Speaker 10: On the staff.
- 2:25Speaker 7: Oh, okay. That'll get us past Christmas.
- 2:30Speaker 10: We're doing a staff profile?
- 2:32Speaker 7: I think we were going to. I mean, they deserve
- 2:34Speaker 7: a little moment. Right?
- 2:35Speaker 10: Yeah, I think so.
- 2:36Speaker 7: I think everybody. They work hard. Very hard. I think
- 2:41Speaker 7: they deserve a little time. A little spotlight.
- 2:45Speaker 6: We probably skip one of them. One guy on the
- 2:48Speaker 6: staff is definitely at his moment in the sun here already.
- 2:50Speaker 10: Who?
- 2:52Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 2:53Speaker 7: We're going to talk about him. Full profile. Full bio.
- 3:01Speaker 8: We haven't completely flushed that out yet, but we're going
- 3:04Speaker 8: to do a coach's spotlight. You're on the show. We're
- 3:06Speaker 8: going to do it every day. Highlight one coach. That's
- 3:11Speaker 8: going to take us through Christmas.
- 3:13Speaker 10: Past Christmas, apparently.
- 3:15Speaker 7: Past Christmas. Well, they're the interns.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Hey, Jake.
- 3:18Speaker 7: What's up, buddy?
- 3:18Speaker 5: Hey, what's going on? How we doing?
- 3:20Speaker 7: Man. There's actually just... There's bad energy over here.
- 3:23Speaker 5: I tried to... I was pulling up the show, and
- 3:26Speaker 5: I kind of always forget that Moscona does a show
- 3:29Speaker 5: during our show.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 3:31Speaker 5: It pulled up. Like, I was trying to get to
- 3:32Speaker 5: our show, and I guess ESPN and.
- 3:36Speaker 10: It'd be your own people.
- 3:36Speaker 7: You know, the algorithm.
- 3:38Speaker 5: It'd be your own people.
- 3:38Speaker 6: He locked us out.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:40Speaker 7: It's just pretty funny, actually.
- 3:43Speaker 5: He does this shit during the show.
- 3:47Speaker 10: We're only in competition with ourselves.
- 3:49Speaker 7: It's okay.
- 3:50Speaker 10: We're just trying to be better than the last version
- 3:53Speaker 10: of ourselves.
- 3:54Speaker 7: Yeah. Be better today than you were yesterday.
- 3:56Speaker 10: And guess what?
- 3:56Speaker 9: We have good mics in the first segment.
- 4:01Speaker 5: I'm choosing violence all day today. Just the way that
- 4:04Speaker 5: I woke up. I'm about to get our link. and
- 4:06Speaker 5: go to his show, and put our link in this show.
- 4:10Speaker 7: In the comments.
- 4:11Speaker 5: In the comments. I'm doing it right.
- 4:12Speaker 7: I'm doing it right now.
- 4:13Speaker 10: I respect it.
- 4:14Speaker 7: Boom.
- 4:15Speaker 5: Jacob Pester 1822.
- 4:17Speaker 7: Copy. Paste.
- 4:18Speaker 5: In the Moscona with the YouTube slash watch.
- 4:23Speaker 7: I respect it.
- 4:24Speaker 5: It's my mood all day. I don't know what it is.
- 4:26Speaker 5: I don't know if we're getting close to the game day,
- 4:27Speaker 5: but I woke up pissed off.
- 4:29Speaker 10: I like that we're choosing violence.
- 4:31Speaker 7: Yeah. Let's see how it goes. Is there anything that
- 4:35Speaker 7: we can do? no it's not bad.
- 4:37Speaker 10: It's not you don't rage bait.
- 4:39Speaker 7: Him oh he's been doing that for 20.
- 4:41Speaker 10: Years like you're asking and you're the number one offender.
- 4:45Speaker 6: Right like are you the reason he woke up mad
- 4:47Speaker 6: no but you're not gonna help no but you're not
- 4:50Speaker 6: gonna help.
- 4:50Speaker 8: The situation I do I do like to stir a
- 4:52Speaker 8: pot I do like to stir a pot from a.
- 4:55Speaker 7: Distance too real nice subtleties well he started out hot
- 5:01Speaker 7: with that nap situation though I think he he.
- 5:05Speaker 10: Might need a nap He said, you ought to be literal.
- 5:07Speaker 5: Whoa, I posted it in there, and I think it
- 5:09Speaker 5: went away.
- 5:10Speaker 7: No.
- 5:11Speaker 10: He deleted it?
- 5:11Speaker 5: I think he deleted it.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Wow.
- 5:15Speaker 6: Hang on, I'm not going to go look.
- 5:17Speaker 5: Yeah, it's not there.
- 5:18Speaker 7: I definitely posted it, too, because I saw it pop up.
- 5:21Speaker 9: Hey, but somebody just said no audio, so we're sabotaging
- 5:24Speaker 9: him somehow.
- 5:25Speaker 5: Man.
- 5:28Speaker 2: I did.
- 5:28Speaker 5: I posted the link in there.
- 5:30Speaker 6: I'm dead. Let's see.
- 5:32Speaker 7: That's good clean fun, everybody.
- 5:33Speaker 10: It is good clean fun.
- 5:34Speaker 5: That's crazy that he did that. Anyways.
- 5:37Speaker 6: I don't see it. Get them out of here.
- 5:44Speaker 7: Hey, now go do it to MSJ.
- 5:46Speaker 5: They don't have one, do they?
- 5:47Speaker 6: Probably not.
- 5:48Speaker 10: They're not cool enough to do that. They're losers.
- 5:51Speaker 7: Yeah. Dial up.
- 5:53Speaker 10: We like always lose to them. They're losers.
- 5:55Speaker 6: When you're as renowned, Matt, in the radio world as
- 6:00Speaker 6: MSJ is, do you need another source?
- 6:03Speaker 7: That's a great point. Now, they do advertise on our
- 6:05Speaker 7: YouTube streams.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Do they?
- 6:07Speaker 7: The law firm does? Remember that one time their ad
- 6:10Speaker 7: popped up?
- 6:11Speaker 5: I think they did. There was one time I did
- 6:12Speaker 5: see them.
- 6:13Speaker 7: It's very pointed.
- 6:14Speaker 10: Oh, hell no.
- 6:16Speaker 7: I've only seen it once, though.
- 6:17Speaker 5: I've only seen it once.
- 6:20Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 6:22Speaker 5: You know what I did really enjoy, though, even though
- 6:24Speaker 5: today's going to be violent? What? I did love seeing
- 6:28Speaker 5: all of the stuff for game day being put up.
- 6:30Speaker 10: Yes.
- 6:31Speaker 5: You know what I mean? Not college game day, but
- 6:33Speaker 5: actually just a football game in Baton Rouge game day.
- 6:37Speaker 5: All the signage and the things that you see during
- 6:40Speaker 5: football season. People pointing to different directions like they're doing
- 6:45Speaker 5: something out there. Like this goes here.
- 6:47Speaker 6: Matt moving furniture.
- 6:47Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 6:48Speaker 6: It's okay.
- 6:48Speaker 7: Take it. Look, I would assume the.
- 6:50Speaker 5: They were doing more than that.
- 6:51Speaker 7: I would assume the RVs are starting to roll in
- 6:54Speaker 7: as well.
- 6:54Speaker 5: A couple.
- 6:55Speaker 7: There was a couple.
- 6:55Speaker 6: Today will be the big RV day.
- 6:57Speaker 7: Big move in. It's exciting. It is upon us, everybody.
- 7:02Speaker 7: It is upon us.
- 7:04Speaker 2: How fun.
- 7:04Speaker 7: Like we said, three sleeps.
- 7:07Speaker 6: I hate that.
- 7:09Speaker 5: Yeah, what?
- 7:11Speaker 10: Three sleeps. It's very, like... Remember?
- 7:14Speaker 7: The nap.
- 7:15Speaker 6: The nap, because I was like, I'm not a math whiz,
- 7:19Speaker 6: but it's two sleeps.
- 7:20Speaker 10: Yeah, he's taking a nap.
- 7:21Speaker 7: He was just trying. He was really reaching. I was
- 7:24Speaker 7: just recalling. I said it earlier.
- 7:26Speaker 5: Yeah, pretty mad.
- 7:28Speaker 9: Mackie in the chat just said, just posted there's breaking
- 7:31Speaker 9: news on Off The Bench.
- 7:35Speaker 10: Yes, we are breaking news right now. Breaking news.
- 7:38Speaker 5: Yes, well done, Matt.
- 7:40Speaker 10: That Dylan Raiola.
- 7:42Speaker 7: Oh, what?
- 7:43Speaker 10: Going to Oregon.
- 7:44Speaker 5: Going to Oregon.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Are you serious? Crazy.
- 7:46Speaker 7: Breaking news.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Breaking.
- 7:51Speaker 7: I love that. It's like days later.
- 7:57Speaker 6: Was it days or was it an hour later? No,
- 7:59Speaker 6: but it was a good hour 45.
- 8:01Speaker 10: We had definitely already mentioned it.
- 8:02Speaker 7: Oh, you definitely did.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 8:04Speaker 9: Also, you did that to me with like Bryson Martinez too,
- 8:07Speaker 9: I'm pretty sure.
- 8:07Speaker 8: Yeah. Sometimes I'm so locked into my studies of sports
- 8:12Speaker 8: that I don't hear what anybody else says. Hey, today
- 8:18Speaker 8: I'm very excited because finally, it's bold prediction Thursday.
- 8:27Speaker 6: I'm so excited.
- 8:28Speaker 5: How many do you have?
- 8:29Speaker 7: I'm working on a few. You're working on them?
- 8:32Speaker 8: So we were going to do it last Friday, and
- 8:34Speaker 8: then Dev came in, started drinking some beers, and we
- 8:38Speaker 8: just didn't do it.
- 8:39Speaker 10: Respect your body.
- 8:40Speaker 8: Respect your body. Shout out. Then it got pushed to Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,
- 8:46Speaker 8: now Thursday. So we're going to do it today.
- 8:49Speaker 10: It got pushed Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
- 8:51Speaker 9: Wait, so how are you doing research if we were
- 8:54Speaker 9: supposed to have a Friday?
- 8:55Speaker 10: I already have mine.
- 8:56Speaker 8: I already had some Friday, but, you know, I was
- 8:57Speaker 8: going to fly by the seat of my pants a
- 8:59Speaker 8: little bit. There was two I had last week that
- 9:01Speaker 8: I'm not sure if I'm going to stick with.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Okay.
- 9:07Speaker 7: Still trying to decide.
- 9:08Speaker 6: Is it the?
- 9:10Speaker 7: I think I'm going to stick with that one.
- 9:11Speaker 6: I was about to say, if you ain't sticking with it,
- 9:13Speaker 6: I'll take it.
- 9:13Speaker 10: Just stick with that one.
- 9:14Speaker 8: Yeah, so Taylor and I, last Friday we came in,
- 9:17Speaker 8: and randomly we had the same bold prediction as each other.
- 9:22Speaker 7: And so we paper, rock, scissors for it. And obviously
- 9:25Speaker 7: I won't.
- 9:25Speaker 6: And that gets it.
- 9:26Speaker 7: I had a shot rock. Like, who goes scissors? First one.
- 9:34Speaker 7: Somebody that's not very experienced. Yeah, you think I was
- 9:37Speaker 7: going to go paper?
- 9:38Speaker 10: Do you even rock, paper, scissors?
- 9:39Speaker 7: You think I was going to go paper first rule?
- 9:41Speaker 7: I don't think so. Beta move. Sorry.
- 9:45Speaker 6: I was like, you know, I got a one in
- 9:48Speaker 6: three shot at this.
- 9:49Speaker 7: Yeah, no.
- 9:50Speaker 6: I didn't think too far ahead.
- 9:51Speaker 7: Always go rock. Okay.
- 9:52Speaker 6: I'll write that down.
- 9:59Speaker 7: Thabo goes paper.
- 10:01Speaker 10: Oh, yeah.
- 10:01Speaker 7: First. Out of the gate.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:03Speaker 7: He always goes paper.
- 10:08Speaker 6: But he would have a long explanation as to, like,
- 10:10Speaker 6: why he went paper.
- 10:12Speaker 7: Paper, I don't know.
- 10:14Speaker 10: Wait, so you say always go rock?
- 10:16Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 10:16Speaker 10: Okay, I think that's what I naturally always go.
- 10:19Speaker 7: Right, because it's the strongest.
- 10:22Speaker 10: Obviously.
- 10:22Speaker 6: When your hand's always in the rock, too.
- 10:24Speaker 2: True.
- 10:24Speaker 6: If you actually do nothing. It's the laziest.
- 10:28Speaker 10: Dang.
- 10:29Speaker 7: It's not fair.
- 10:31Speaker 10: Keep calling you lazy.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 10:36Speaker 7: Anyway, I win most times. Oh, rock, paper, scissors you're
- 10:44Speaker 7: talking about. Yeah, Russian bow.
- 10:50Speaker 10: They said, Scone's talking bald. They talking rock, paper, scissors.
- 10:55Speaker 10: Fair enough. Can't even argue with that.
- 10:57Speaker 7: Yeah, that's fair.
- 11:02Speaker 5: Said all the OTB posts in Scone's chat are gone.
- 11:05Speaker 7: That is crazy, like, thinking about him going through it.
- 11:08Speaker 6: In real time.
- 11:10Speaker 8: Let me tell y'all something. I can feel feelings right now.
- 11:15Speaker 8: The feeling over here is pretty intense. We're just going
- 11:23Speaker 8: to smile through it.
- 11:24Speaker 5: I guess y'all didn't get to drive in and see
- 11:27Speaker 5: kind of everything get set up.
- 11:29Speaker 7: Like, it's my favorite part.
- 11:30Speaker 10: I saw it yesterday. Yeah, it gets me.
- 11:32Speaker 7: It's like my favorite part.
- 11:33Speaker 10: I'm like, it's here.
- 11:33Speaker 7: Of pregame.
- 11:34Speaker 9: It's like when people start putting Christmas decorations out and
- 11:37Speaker 9: you're like, ooh, Christmas is here.
- 11:38Speaker 6: You just feel colder.
- 11:39Speaker 8: You're like, oh, yeah.
- 11:40Speaker 9: I started seeing, like, the sports properties, like, barrier up.
- 11:44Speaker 10: And I was like, ooh, we here.
- 11:46Speaker 9: Because I had to go to court to table yesterday.
- 11:48Speaker 9: So I had to drive through there. And I did
- 11:51Speaker 9: see everything starting to get set up. I saw they
- 11:53Speaker 9: were starting to set up college game day a little
- 11:55Speaker 9: bit too. So it's going to be exciting.
- 11:58Speaker 8: I feel like I drove on campus maybe five times
- 12:06Speaker 8: in the last 12 months. It's just not like, cause you're,
- 12:09Speaker 8: you go there all the time cause of school, but
- 12:11Speaker 8: it's like opposite side of town for me.
- 12:12Speaker 7: I don't really ever go there.
- 12:13Speaker 8: Except for games or like we went there for one
- 12:17Speaker 8: of the shows, but it's never like, I just don't
- 12:19Speaker 8: ever go.
- 12:20Speaker 7: Drive over there to go through campus.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:24Speaker 7: Which every time I go over there, I'm like, man,
- 12:26Speaker 7: this is great. I love it here.
- 12:27Speaker 1: I know.
- 12:28Speaker 7: I know.
- 12:28Speaker 10: All the trees.
- 12:29Speaker 7: I get to see it every morning. I know. It's
- 12:33Speaker 7: a good thing.
- 12:33Speaker 1: It is.
- 12:34Speaker 10: I'm going tonight. Lane Kiffin show tonight.
- 12:38Speaker 5: Oh, it's going to be on Court to Table.
- 12:40Speaker 10: It's at Court to Table.
- 12:41Speaker 7: That's right.
- 12:41Speaker 10: But I do the show from the stadium.
- 12:45Speaker 7: Oh, that's right.
- 12:45Speaker 5: You do it from the stadium.
- 12:47Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 12:47Speaker 10: The studio in there.
- 12:48Speaker 5: 900 credentialed people for this game.
- 12:58Speaker 6: Now, those are the ones that got approved?
- 13:01Speaker 7: I think so.
- 13:02Speaker 6: Because that seems like a lot to be approved.
- 13:03Speaker 5: Now, that's including College Game Day and the TV trucks.
- 13:08Speaker 6: And I think SEC Network's coming out too.
- 13:10Speaker 5: Yeah, but still.
- 13:12Speaker 7: What's a standard for amount for LSU?
- 13:14Speaker 2: Not 900.
- 13:14Speaker 10: 900 is a lot of media members.
- 13:16Speaker 5: That's almost 1,000. When do you stop?
- 13:23Speaker 2: A thousand?
- 13:24Speaker 6: No.
- 13:24Speaker 9: But my thing is I feel like the sidelines at
- 13:28Speaker 9: LSU games are already mega crowded to the point where
- 13:33Speaker 9: people that are trying to do their job can't do
- 13:35Speaker 9: their job, which I get it.
- 13:37Speaker 10: You want recruits out there. You want the brand. I
- 13:39Speaker 10: understand that.
- 13:40Speaker 9: But 900 people out there, you're not going to be
- 13:43Speaker 9: able to move.
- 13:45Speaker 7: That's credentialed.
- 13:46Speaker 10: That's what I'm saying.
- 13:47Speaker 5: Yeah, like, so technically they, I mean, there's different levels
- 13:50Speaker 5: to where you can go, where you can stand, all
- 13:52Speaker 5: that different stuff. But you've been on the field pregame
- 13:55Speaker 5: before a big game. Like, that compared to directional school U, like,
- 13:59Speaker 5: it's completely different. And it can get chaotic down there
- 14:02Speaker 5: in a big game.
- 14:02Speaker 8: So we'll have people, you know, that'll call Lacey or
- 14:06Speaker 8: I and be like, hey, we're coming for this game.
- 14:08Speaker 8: You know, is there any way we can get on
- 14:10Speaker 8: the sideline for the game? And I'm like, you don't
- 14:13Speaker 8: want to do that.
- 14:14Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 14:15Speaker 8: Because, like, now it's an awesome experience, especially for people
- 14:17Speaker 8: that haven't done it or touched the grass in Tiger Stadium.
- 14:20Speaker 7: And I get that.
- 14:21Speaker 8: But it's also, like, worse than going to Reggie's in 2004.
- 14:28Speaker 7: Pretty much. Like, it's very packed. You can't really see
- 14:32Speaker 7: anything either.
- 14:35Speaker 5: But, but, you say all that and I agree with you,
- 14:40Speaker 5: but if you could bottle up the energy down there
- 14:42Speaker 5: and sell it.
- 14:42Speaker 7: Oh, it's electric. Name your price. Yeah.
- 14:46Speaker 10: For real.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 14:49Speaker 5: I don't want to, like, over-speak on what I think
- 14:53Speaker 5: it's going to be.
- 14:54Speaker 8: You have a little bit more free walking than most
- 14:58Speaker 8: people because you can walk anywhere. Like, usually the credentials
- 15:02Speaker 8: that you get, like, if you've got people coming in,
- 15:04Speaker 8: it's like you've got to stay in one section. And
- 15:06Speaker 8: you're about tenth back from the sideline.
- 15:09Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 15:10Speaker 11: Mm-hmm.
- 15:10Speaker 7: Yeah, fair.
- 15:11Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 15:11Speaker 7: Yeah, you get to walk like where other people are.
- 15:14Speaker 7: You get to spread your wings a little bit.
- 15:16Speaker 5: Well, I just like to walk because I like to
- 15:17Speaker 5: talk to the coaches before I go to the broadcast booth.
- 15:21Speaker 5: I want to get a feel of how they're feeling,
- 15:25Speaker 5: try to pick their brain on give me a guy
- 15:26Speaker 5: to kind of circle that maybe we haven't circled. I
- 15:29Speaker 5: like to go speak to the opposing coach, which I
- 15:31Speaker 5: don't know that I'll be able to really. Eventually, now
- 15:35Speaker 5: that I'm not on college radio, eventually those relationships might
- 15:38Speaker 5: go away. But I'd like to go talk to the
- 15:40Speaker 5: other coach and kind of see where they're at.
- 15:43Speaker 10: Oh, you know who we talked to yesterday?
- 15:44Speaker 1: Who?
- 15:45Speaker 10: Eric McLean.
- 15:46Speaker 5: Oh, EMAC?
- 15:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:48Speaker 10: And then I was like, oh, we should have him on.
- 15:49Speaker 10: But then I didn't want to have him on AFR
- 15:51Speaker 10: and then have him on here again.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:53Speaker 5: Actually, it's funny you say that. I was going to
- 15:55Speaker 5: have EMAC on tomorrow, but now I'm not.
- 15:59Speaker 10: You can have him on tomorrow.
- 15:59Speaker 7: Nope. Classic EMAC.
- 16:05Speaker 6: Matt, you definitely know.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 16:07Speaker 6: Who that is, I can tell.
- 16:08Speaker 10: He's been on this show, Matt.
- 16:09Speaker 7: Coach, former coach.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Nope.
- 16:13Speaker 5: What'd you say?
- 16:14Speaker 10: Coach, former coach.
- 16:17Speaker 5: No, he's actually younger than us.
- 16:18Speaker 7: Yep.
- 16:19Speaker 5: Blake Clemson, yeah.
- 16:24Speaker 7: Wide receiver. Offensive lineman.
- 16:27Speaker 10: He a big guy.
- 16:29Speaker 7: Started tight end, then moved to O-line. See, I told you.
- 16:31Speaker 7: I told you.
- 16:33Speaker 2: No, you didn't.
- 16:36Speaker 6: You're like, ah, receiver adjacent.
- 16:38Speaker 7: The Mac.
- 16:39Speaker 5: Eric McLean, yep.
- 16:42Speaker 10: Good dude.
- 16:46Speaker 7: Right? McLean or McLean?
- 16:48Speaker 10: It's spelled like McLean.
- 16:50Speaker 7: M-A-C. That's a more rare version.
- 16:54Speaker 2: True.
- 16:54Speaker 9: Who do y'all think is going to be the biggest
- 16:58Speaker 9: celebrity here on Saturday?
- 17:01Speaker 7: Plain.
- 17:02Speaker 10: Since they have 900 people credentialed. Shaq?
- 17:06Speaker 9: No.
- 17:07Speaker 5: I mean, Shaq's literal biggest. Shaq's so famous. Boosie's famous.
- 17:12Speaker 5: But those people have LSU ties.
- 17:14Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 17:15Speaker 5: But I think it feels like there's going to be
- 17:17Speaker 5: somebody that doesn't have LSU ties.
- 17:19Speaker 10: Like who?
- 17:19Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 17:20Speaker 5: You never know sometimes. When LSU's good, you never know
- 17:24Speaker 5: who's going to show up. I'll never forget in 2019,
- 17:29Speaker 5: walking into a locker room and chatting it up, and
- 17:31Speaker 5: I look over and Vince Vaughn. He's like just sitting
- 17:34Speaker 5: over there.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. He was like.
- 17:37Speaker 5: Then he came to the Peach Bowl. Then he came
- 17:40Speaker 5: to the Natty.
- 17:41Speaker 6: He's a little bit of an adopted LSU fan.
- 17:43Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 17:43Speaker 6: I've heard him talk about it a little bit.
- 17:45Speaker 8: I was in the suite with him at the Natty Championship.
- 17:48Speaker 8: For a little bit. He was there for a little bit.
- 17:50Speaker 7: So, like, sometimes.
- 17:51Speaker 10: Did you meet the president?
- 17:52Speaker 7: Like LSU. Huh?
- 17:53Speaker 10: Did you meet the president?
- 17:54Speaker 2: Uh-uh.
- 17:55Speaker 7: He was a couple down from us.
- 17:57Speaker 10: Oh, because I saw that Vince was in the suite
- 18:00Speaker 10: with him.
- 18:00Speaker 6: Did he just walk in and say hey?
- 18:02Speaker 8: I think he kind of just like went to wherever
- 18:04Speaker 8: he wanted to and he was in that one for
- 18:05Speaker 8: a little bit.
- 18:08Speaker 7: All right.
- 18:09Speaker 10: Very tall.
- 18:09Speaker 7: Very tall. Who? Vince. Yeah, he's tall. He's a tall fellow.
- 18:15Speaker 2: All right.
- 18:16Speaker 5: We got to take a break.
- 18:18Speaker 7: We'll see. Maybe Elon will be there.
- 18:22Speaker 10: There is a star base.
- 18:23Speaker 7: Star base. That might be a good pool. What if
- 18:26Speaker 7: he's the guest? What if he's a guest picker?
- 18:29Speaker 10: You think Elon knows ball?
- 18:31Speaker 7: No, not at all. He knows how to read a note.
- 18:34Speaker 7: He knows Mars.
- 18:36Speaker 5: In front of him.
- 18:37Speaker 2: True.
- 18:37Speaker 5: Pick this game.
- 18:38Speaker 7: That would be cool. All right. No LSU ties.
- 18:42Speaker 10: I'm sold on Elon Musk.
- 18:43Speaker 7: But Louisiana ties now. Yep. All right, we got to
- 18:47Speaker 7: take a break.
- 18:48Speaker 5: More OTB when we come back here live from the
- 18:50Speaker 5: Raising Cane Studios.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 18:53Speaker 10: Cannonball.

- 19:02Speaker 5: We have a little bit of heat. I don't know
- 19:04Speaker 5: if you know that here. A little bit of humidity
- 19:06Speaker 5: here in South Louisiana. And a lot of times that can, well,
- 19:09Speaker 5: it can lean on your pool a little bit. And
- 19:11Speaker 5: if it's not built right, it can crumble said pool.
- 19:14Speaker 5: But when you work with Russell Pool Company, they've been

- 19:41Speaker 8: You won't do a belly flop. They're doing that. Well,
- 19:43Speaker 8: you're going to be doing belly flops at the Flynn

- 20:06Speaker 1: Purple and gold to the core. This is Off the
- 20:09Speaker 1: Bench with Hester and Flynn. Baton Rouge's go-to for all
- 20:13Speaker 1: things Louisiana sports.
- 20:37Speaker 5: Oh, what's the theme today?
- 20:39Speaker 3: Oldies.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Oldies.
- 20:41Speaker 7: Little temptations.
- 20:43Speaker 9: This is like the second time you asked for it,
- 20:44Speaker 9: so I'm like, I'm going to, we'll do oldies today.
- 20:47Speaker 7: This one starts out a little instrumental, but that's a banger.
- 20:49Speaker 10: And that's how I fast forwarded like two minutes in.
- 20:53Speaker 5: We have Motown Wednesdays on NFL, so.
- 20:55Speaker 7: Ooh, I like that.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Ooh.
- 20:56Speaker 7: I like that.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:58Speaker 7: That's good. Well, I grew up. When I was a kid, man,
- 21:01Speaker 7: I loved.
- 21:01Speaker 5: You're lucky you got it in, because I was going
- 21:04Speaker 5: to ask for a little dad rock, a little Three
- 21:05Speaker 5: Doors Down today.
- 21:07Speaker 10: We can do that tomorrow.
- 21:08Speaker 5: Well, I won't hear it tomorrow.
- 21:09Speaker 6: You can hear some of it. You could just play
- 21:12Speaker 6: any Three Doors Down song.
- 21:14Speaker 7: Fangers. In Livingston Parish.
- 21:17Speaker 5: No, in Caddo Parish, too, then.
- 21:20Speaker 7: Not that different.
- 21:22Speaker 5: How much time have you spent in Caddo Parish?
- 21:25Speaker 7: I know a lot.
- 21:26Speaker 5: A night and a half?
- 21:26Speaker 7: I know a lot of peeps. similarities are eerie. Are they?
- 21:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 21:35Speaker 7: You're not even from a parish because you're not from here. No,
- 21:38Speaker 7: it's a county.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Yep.
- 21:41Speaker 7: I'm from a parish now.
- 21:42Speaker 5: You're not from there. You live there. You rent space.
- 21:46Speaker 5: Saturday night in Baton Rouge, LSU and Clemson. Coming up.
- 21:51Speaker 7: Legally.
- 21:51Speaker 5: A few different layers that are going to make this
- 21:54Speaker 5: game intriguing. The obvious one, debut of Lane Kiffin here
- 21:59Speaker 5: at LSU. They didn't bring Lane Kiffin in here to
- 22:02Speaker 5: obviously just win games. The expectation is to compete for championships,
- 22:06Speaker 5: and this first impression is going to be big. Last
- 22:09Speaker 5: year you beat Clemson 17-10 on the road in Clemson,
- 22:12Speaker 5: South Carolina, and now you have got college game day,
- 22:17Speaker 5: a huge national scene. Now the game might not be
- 22:21Speaker 5: talked about like the actual game portion of it as
- 22:24Speaker 5: much as it was last year. There's so many things
- 22:26Speaker 5: on the outside being talked about. about this game, but
- 22:29Speaker 5: it still doesn't change the fact that it's going to
- 22:30Speaker 5: do a massive, massive number on TV. So I can't
- 22:35Speaker 5: imagine a bigger opening night than LSU and Clemson and
- 22:39Speaker 5: what that's going to be. Let's go around because like
- 22:42Speaker 5: in the last couple of weeks, we've kind of gone around.
- 22:44Speaker 5: We've tried to like maybe give him a name that
- 22:47Speaker 5: isn't on the marquee, like a name that's not going
- 22:50Speaker 5: to be the first one that a lot of people mentioned.
- 22:52Speaker 5: We're trying to go into the roster and hey, look
- 22:54Speaker 5: out for this guy. Look out for that guy. But
- 22:57Speaker 5: what about the first guy that you're watching? Be it
- 23:01Speaker 5: the best player on the team or the 105th player
- 23:04Speaker 5: on the team. Where are your eyes going to go first?
- 23:07Speaker 7: Quarterback. Quarterback.
- 23:09Speaker 11: 100%.
- 23:10Speaker 8: I mean, it's where your eyes go first on every
- 23:13Speaker 8: football game that you watch. I mean, besides the center,
- 23:16Speaker 8: it's the only position that.
- 23:17Speaker 7: Touches the ball.
- 23:18Speaker 5: Unless you're watching, like, the Trent Dilfer-led Baltimore Ravens in
- 23:20Speaker 5: that Super Bowl.
- 23:22Speaker 8: Yeah, but then you're just making sure he doesn't trip
- 23:25Speaker 8: at that point. But it's the only position besides the center.
- 23:28Speaker 8: That touches the ball every single play. That's why it's
- 23:30Speaker 8: always Revere. That's why it's overpaid. That's why it's most
- 23:34Speaker 8: important position in the game that in the most popular
- 23:37Speaker 8: sport in our country. So yeah, all eyes have to
- 23:42Speaker 8: be there and he's brand new and we know what
- 23:45Speaker 8: Lane Kiffin does with quarterbacks in his offense. They thrive
- 23:48Speaker 8: in his offense.
- 23:49Speaker 5: That's what I was going to say. So you bring
- 23:50Speaker 5: in Sam Levitt and This is a completely rebuilt LSU offense.
- 23:54Speaker 5: I think we all know that, but you combine Levitt
- 23:56Speaker 5: with Lane Kiffin and then.
- 23:58Speaker 8: Is this the most highly touted quarterback that he's ever
- 24:01Speaker 8: had as a transfer at any program?
- 24:04Speaker 6: Coming in, yeah.
- 24:05Speaker 7: Coming in, yeah.
- 24:05Speaker 5: I would think so. And Lane's always been really good
- 24:09Speaker 5: at creating quarterback-friendly throws, getting playmakers into space. It's a
- 24:13Speaker 5: very quarterback-friendly offense if you play within the offense and
- 24:16Speaker 5: you don't.
- 24:17Speaker 7: Try to do too much. But I would agree. I
- 24:19Speaker 7: think this is probably.
- 24:21Speaker 5: the biggest that he's had, at least as far as
- 24:23Speaker 5: like preseason expectation, nobody knew who Trinidad Chambliss was last year.
- 24:27Speaker 7: Nobody really knew what Ferris state was.
- 24:30Speaker 5: No friends and family knew that was about it. And
- 24:32Speaker 5: then he turns into a household name by the end
- 24:34Speaker 5: of it. And he's had good quarterbacks. So I don't
- 24:36Speaker 5: want it to sound like he hasn't had good quarterbacks,
- 24:38Speaker 5: but he hasn't had one that's been to a college
- 24:40Speaker 5: football playoff like Sam Levitt. So like, I don't necessarily
- 24:46Speaker 5: think Levitt's going to throw for 400 yards on Saturday,
- 24:48Speaker 5: but at, Is it, can he command the offense?
- 24:51Speaker 7: Can LSU get in the right play? Can he avoid
- 24:54Speaker 7: negative plays?
- 24:55Speaker 5: And when Clemson does bring some pressure, because they will
- 24:58Speaker 5: bring pressure, can he use that athletic ability that we've
- 25:01Speaker 5: seen in his past to make a play, to make
- 25:04Speaker 5: them pay when they bring pressure so they don't bring
- 25:07Speaker 5: it all night long because he's going to show you
- 25:10Speaker 5: what he can do with his legs as well.
- 25:11Speaker 8: It's about, for Sam on Saturday night, it's about controlling emotions.
- 25:16Speaker 8: You're in a new, you're the number one. player ranked
- 25:20Speaker 8: in the portal. You had an injury that you're overcoming,
- 25:24Speaker 8: so you really haven't played a ton of football the
- 25:27Speaker 8: last 12 months. You're very highly touted. You understand the
- 25:32Speaker 8: noise that's around the program. You understand the noise. You
- 25:34Speaker 8: can't shelter these kids anymore like you used to from
- 25:38Speaker 8: that outside noise. We used to have to get our
- 25:41Speaker 8: information of watching college game day, like the morning of
- 25:44Speaker 8: while we're eating eggs before our game. When we're finding
- 25:46Speaker 8: out Coach Miles is going to Michigan. Watching watching herb street,
- 25:49Speaker 8: announce it. Like you can't shelter them with social media
- 25:51Speaker 8: and everything. So he's going to understand that he is
- 25:54Speaker 8: going to feel an energy Saturday night that even with
- 25:59Speaker 8: the playoffs, he might've never felt before.
- 26:02Speaker 7: That's how different that's how different that Valley is.
- 26:06Speaker 8: And it's going to be the opening game. So it's
- 26:08Speaker 8: about controlling his emotions. Cause if he can do that,
- 26:12Speaker 8: he has been identified by Lane and his staff as
- 26:15Speaker 8: having the the mental capabilities, the physical capabilities, and his
- 26:21Speaker 8: skill set fitting into their system. So I trust their
- 26:25Speaker 8: evaluation because they have earned that trust through the history of.
- 26:30Speaker 7: Their coaching tenures. So I trust that.
- 26:34Speaker 8: Now, can he control his emotions, play within the system,
- 26:38Speaker 8: not try to do too much? A mistake is going
- 26:42Speaker 8: to happen. It's the first game. There's going to be
- 26:44Speaker 8: dumb things that happen on both sides of the ball.
- 26:47Speaker 8: Really dumb things. It's college football. They're all brand new
- 26:50Speaker 8: coaching staff. It is brand new players playing with each other.
- 26:54Speaker 8: There's going to be stupid mistakes made Saturday. Everybody is,
- 26:57Speaker 8: all over the country. You just got to make less
- 26:59Speaker 8: than the other. And you have to be able to
- 27:02Speaker 8: bounce back. And as a quarterback, you cannot press. When
- 27:05Speaker 8: things go bad, you can't press. When things get too
- 27:08Speaker 8: hyped up, you can't just try to throw it deep
- 27:11Speaker 8: because I want to make a play in front of
- 27:12Speaker 8: this crowd, blah, blah, blah. Control your emotions. You got
- 27:15Speaker 8: the skill set. You have the play caller. You have
- 27:18Speaker 8: the offense. You got the talent around you. Let it
- 27:20Speaker 8: come naturally. Let it come to you. Plays will present themselves,
- 27:24Speaker 8: and when they do, take advantage of them, but don't
- 27:26Speaker 8: try to force it.
- 27:28Speaker 5: Alondra and Tay-Tay, would y'all maybe have a different answer,
- 27:31Speaker 5: or is it Sam Leavitt? Because a lot of times
- 27:33Speaker 5: we try to find four different guys. I'm not trying
- 27:36Speaker 5: to do that here because I want to be authentic
- 27:38Speaker 5: in my answer, and it is Sam Leavitt.
- 27:39Speaker 9: Yeah, I think it's Sam, but if I'm going different,
- 27:43Speaker 9: I'm really, really excited to see Trey Desgreen. like trade
- 27:46Speaker 9: as green in that seven, an.
- 27:47Speaker 5: Actual offense in an actual, I don't even mean that
- 27:50Speaker 5: like throwing shade, just, but.
- 27:52Speaker 10: There's so much more.
- 27:54Speaker 5: You know what I mean?
- 27:55Speaker 9: There's like so much more that you're going to be
- 27:57Speaker 9: able to do with trade as with Lane Kiffin and
- 28:00Speaker 9: Charlie Weiss, Jr. Leading the offense, but in a quarterback,
- 28:04Speaker 9: that's not injured. Um, but I'm just very excited to
- 28:07Speaker 9: see trade as like, he is said to have a
- 28:10Speaker 9: great season. That seven just looks and feels so right
- 28:14Speaker 9: on him. Like, I feel like that seven made him
- 28:15Speaker 9: flip a switch here. He had a switch, but that seven,
- 28:18Speaker 9: it just looks so good. So I'm excited to go
- 28:21Speaker 9: different from Sam Leavitt. Cause obviously like that's where your
- 28:24Speaker 9: eyes are going to go, but I'm very excited for
- 28:26Speaker 9: trade as green this season.
- 28:27Speaker 5: I like it.
- 28:28Speaker 7: Dylan Jones.
- 28:30Speaker 6: I want to see what all this hype is about.
- 28:32Speaker 6: Cause like we've seen him at practice, but like when
- 28:33Speaker 6: media is out there, it's, It's touch and go. It's 7-on-7.
- 28:36Speaker 5: I also, and I'm sorry to cut you off, but
- 28:40Speaker 5: you've been on that train, the Dylan Jones, for the
- 28:42Speaker 5: entire time. But I think when Tay-Tay says hype, I
- 28:45Speaker 5: don't want it to sound like it's like people are
- 28:47Speaker 5: hyping him up and he hasn't earned it because a
- 28:50Speaker 5: lot of times that's what hype is.
- 28:51Speaker 6: Coaching staff has hyped this guy up.
- 28:53Speaker 5: Because of him earning it. Because let's be honest with
- 28:57Speaker 5: our audience. There was no way that he was supposed
- 28:59Speaker 5: to be the starting running back to start the season.
- 29:02Speaker 2: Right.
- 29:02Speaker 5: No way, no how. You had two guys that you
- 29:04Speaker 5: fought to bring back in NIL situations, and he was
- 29:08Speaker 5: just kind of a, oh, we got a running back
- 29:09Speaker 5: from Wisconsin type guy. So the hype has been earned
- 29:13Speaker 5: at least.
- 29:13Speaker 6: When he came in, it was like, oh, you got him.
- 29:15Speaker 6: You got Stacey Gage. You got Ray St.
- 29:17Speaker 7: Guillory.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Great.
- 29:17Speaker 6: You got a bunch of depth pieces to go behind
- 29:19Speaker 6: these two. And immediately in spring, he was starting. Kiffin's
- 29:23Speaker 6: raved about him. Charlie Weiss has raved about him. The
- 29:25Speaker 6: guys on defense have raved about him. I'm excited to
- 29:28Speaker 6: see what all this is about.
- 29:30Speaker 8: Immediately starting. Spring is crazy to me, right? I think
- 29:34Speaker 8: it was the second week of spring he was taking
- 29:36Speaker 8: one rep.
- 29:37Speaker 7: It's got to be, right? One of two things happens.
- 29:42Speaker 8: You're either special, special, or the other guys are so
- 29:45Speaker 8: far from special.
- 29:47Speaker 6: It could be a.
- 29:47Speaker 5: Combination of both. Yeah, but we've seen the other two.
- 29:51Speaker 7: We've seen the other two.
- 29:52Speaker 5: And we have.
- 29:53Speaker 8: So we know that's not the case. So it must
- 29:56Speaker 8: be in the positive direction. He must be special, special.
- 29:59Speaker 9: I was going to say, and you got to think
- 30:00Speaker 9: about the fact that he was going up against Caden Durham.
- 30:04Speaker 10: Yeah, that's true. It's faster.
- 30:06Speaker 5: It demands more of you in the run game.
- 30:11Speaker 10: Yeah, true.
- 30:12Speaker 5: Because you have to be able to show that you
- 30:14Speaker 5: can run zone schemes inside and out.
- 30:17Speaker 10: Get back.
- 30:17Speaker 7: Gap schemes.
- 30:19Speaker 5: You can do all of those things. You can pass protect.
- 30:22Speaker 5: You can catch the football. where last year you just
- 30:25Speaker 5: had to be able to run inside zone. Now, I
- 30:26Speaker 5: give those two backs a lot of credit because there
- 30:28Speaker 5: wasn't a lot in front of them, and they still
- 30:30Speaker 5: both averaged over four yards to carry. But to me,
- 30:35Speaker 5: because you fought hard for Harlan Berry and Caden Durham
- 30:38Speaker 5: to be back on this roster, and they're going to play.
- 30:40Speaker 5: They're going to be sitting on the sidelines.
- 30:42Speaker 7: They're going to play.
- 30:44Speaker 5: But he showed you something early, very early on in spring,
- 30:49Speaker 5: and then continued on through fall camp, that makes you
- 30:52Speaker 5: feel like within your offense, he does more special things
- 30:55Speaker 5: than anybody else on the roster.
- 30:57Speaker 6: He came and talked to us last week. It was
- 30:58Speaker 6: last Thursday for player interviews, and he said, running the
- 31:01Speaker 6: ball is the easiest part of my job. He's like,
- 31:03Speaker 6: it's everything else that I want to separate myself. Pass catching, blocking,
- 31:06Speaker 6: helping out the quarterback in any way. So he's obviously
- 31:09Speaker 6: just a smart guy that can do a little bit
- 31:11Speaker 6: of everything.
- 31:12Speaker 5: I also think, and Matt might disagree with this because
- 31:16Speaker 5: I played running back, but when you have a new
- 31:19Speaker 5: quarterback back there, and you have a circus that's going
- 31:23Speaker 5: to be going on within the stadium, a lot of
- 31:26Speaker 5: times the quarterback and the running back, there's a communication
- 31:29Speaker 5: portion of it where the quarterback, if he tells the
- 31:33Speaker 5: running back something and you two are on the same page,
- 31:36Speaker 5: it can help a bad situation out. It can be
- 31:39Speaker 5: something small like, hey, watch out for the backside, free safety. Hey,
- 31:43Speaker 5: I want you to get out on this one. Just go.
- 31:46Speaker 7: Free release.
- 31:46Speaker 5: Run a Texas route. Whatever that might be. And then
- 31:49Speaker 5: they're on the same page. And the quarterback knows, okay,
- 31:53Speaker 5: there's craziness around me, but me and this guy, we're
- 31:56Speaker 5: working together. And I feel good about, hey, him picking
- 31:58Speaker 5: up that backside free safety because I told him, I
- 32:01Speaker 5: alerted him, he understood, and here he goes.
- 32:03Speaker 8: Yeah, it's a very settling thing for a quarterback to
- 32:09Speaker 8: have a, just how short, how small it is, have
- 32:14Speaker 8: some sort of conversation with your running back every play.
- 32:18Speaker 8: especially this day and age where you're in shotgun every play,
- 32:20Speaker 8: it's easy because he's right next to you normally. We
- 32:23Speaker 8: always made it a point in Green Bay, and I
- 32:26Speaker 8: was taught this from Aaron, on every single pass play,
- 32:31Speaker 8: remind your running back what he has. Whether he's blocking,
- 32:35Speaker 8: whether he's got some sort of check down, or what
- 32:38Speaker 8: route he has. It's not necessarily, you might have the
- 32:41Speaker 8: smartest running back in the world. It's not necessarily tell
- 32:43Speaker 8: him what to do. It's settling in a In a
- 32:47Speaker 8: stadium where you've got 90,000 people yelling at you, it's
- 32:50Speaker 8: settling to have someone there that you're having a conversation with.
- 32:53Speaker 8: It makes you feel a little bit less isolated. But
- 32:55Speaker 8: more importantly, it's the last thing on your mind as
- 32:58Speaker 8: a quarterback, what the running back has. So you're either
- 33:01Speaker 8: telling yourself, it reminds you that you are protected on
- 33:05Speaker 8: the left or the right or whoever he's got if
- 33:07Speaker 8: you have a blitz coming, or it's the last thing
- 33:09Speaker 8: you think of. The check down is the last thing
- 33:11Speaker 8: on my mind. So I'm always reminded where an outlet is.
- 33:15Speaker 8: So don't push something that you don't have to. It
- 33:17Speaker 8: always reminds you to get to your check down faster
- 33:20Speaker 8: because it's the last thing on your mind. So it's
- 33:22Speaker 8: from a, like a, just from a settling your nerve situation,
- 33:25Speaker 8: you're having a conversation with your teammate right there in
- 33:27Speaker 8: the middle of every, in the middle of all the chaos,
- 33:30Speaker 8: while the, while the clock is running right before the snap. And,
- 33:32Speaker 8: but then you're also reminding yourself where you're protected or
- 33:35Speaker 8: where your check done is.
- 33:40Speaker 5: And sometimes I know we gotta take a break. Sometimes
- 33:43Speaker 5: the route that you had called, he sees it differently.
- 33:47Speaker 5: And he tells you to run a different one because
- 33:49Speaker 5: he feels like he knows where the hole in the
- 33:51Speaker 5: defense is going to be, and you just do it.
- 33:53Speaker 5: Quarterback's got the last say on that, and some of
- 33:56Speaker 5: the biggest plays I had in Denver were Peyton just
- 34:00Speaker 5: telling him, hey, go here, run this, do that. And
- 34:03Speaker 5: then the running back coach would yell at you, and
- 34:05Speaker 5: you'd say, Peyton told me to do it, and he'd say,
- 34:07Speaker 5: good job.
- 34:08Speaker 7: Yep. So you fake clap, and then you're like, okay,
- 34:10Speaker 7: run an angle. Then you real clap. All right, we've
- 34:13Speaker 7: got to take a break.
- 34:14Speaker 5: But we'll keep talking LSU Clemson because– We've got to
- 34:17Speaker 5: get into some of the other things in this game,
- 34:20Speaker 5: including some Clemson players to look out for.
- 34:22Speaker 7: We'll do that when we come back here on OTB.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 34:27Speaker 5: I go to Trash Rangers and TrashRangers.com, a residential commercial
- 34:31Speaker 5: trash pickup service. They've got the roll-off dumpsters. They've got
- 34:34Speaker 5: the normal dumpsters. They've got a little bit of everything
- 34:36Speaker 5: there at Trash Rangers. Sanitation department, do you need a
- 34:41Speaker 5: portable restroom for your job site or for your event?
- 34:45Speaker 5: Don't worry, they have got you covered, and they're going
- 34:47Speaker 5: to drop it off, pick it up, just like they
- 34:49Speaker 5: do with the roll-off dumpsters. Even if you undersell what
- 34:52Speaker 5: you have, got a little bit more trash than you thought,
- 34:56Speaker 5: they'll empty your dumpster and then bring it back to you,
- 34:59Speaker 5: put it right back where it was. The customer service,
- 35:02Speaker 5: all the things that they offer, nobody's better.
- 35:03Speaker 7: TrashRangers.com.
- 35:04Speaker 8: That's right, TrashRangers.com, Louisiana's most reliable trash removal service, and,
- 35:09Speaker 8: you know, they got A couple of different options for you.
- 35:12Speaker 8: They got the residential service. They got the commercial trash
- 35:15Speaker 8: removal service. And they got those roll-off dumpsters. And you're
- 35:18Speaker 8: probably tired of hearing me talk about those roll-off dumpsters.
- 35:20Speaker 7: But it is that good. The service is that good.
- 35:22Speaker 7: The pricing is that good. Go to TrashRangers.com.
- 35:36Speaker 1: From the locker room to the airwaves, it's Off the
- 35:39Speaker 1: Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Letters about to fall.
- 36:09Speaker 3: 13-month-old baby.
- 36:13Speaker 4: Broke the looking glass.
- 36:17Speaker 2: Seven years of bad luck.
- 36:22Speaker 5: All right, welcome back in OTB. Taking a look at
- 36:28Speaker 5: LSU versus Clemson coming up on Saturday. Will help. For
- 36:34Speaker 5: the Clemson Tigers, probably the guy that LSU needs to
- 36:37Speaker 5: know where he's at the most. He is a true
- 36:41Speaker 5: pro edge rusher. He will be an NFL player. Probably
- 36:44Speaker 5: not going to wait too long to hear his name called.
- 36:47Speaker 5: And he can be a game changer. Now, LSU faced
- 36:50Speaker 5: him a year ago. LSU had a pretty good plan
- 36:53Speaker 5: against him. But he's a player that can change a game.
- 36:56Speaker 5: You've got to know where he's at, where he's coming from.
- 36:59Speaker 5: And you've got to make sure that you have a
- 37:00Speaker 5: game plan to stop him. In one of those situations,
- 37:03Speaker 5: I feel like that guy is not going to be
- 37:05Speaker 5: the reason that I lose, right? If somebody else steps
- 37:08Speaker 5: up and they make the play, then I tip my
- 37:10Speaker 5: cap to them, but it can't be Will Helt that
- 37:12Speaker 5: does it. So he's like the one guy. Now, it's
- 37:15Speaker 5: not the only player that they have. I mean, they're
- 37:17Speaker 5: pretty good at linebacker as well. But as we all know,
- 37:20Speaker 5: like an edge rusher can disrupt a game. LSU's offensive
- 37:24Speaker 5: line certainly has a tackle position, feels more solidified than
- 37:27Speaker 5: it did a year ago.
- 37:29Speaker 7: So it's going to be good on good.
- 37:31Speaker 5: If he lines up on Seton, it's going to be
- 37:33Speaker 5: two guys that are going to play on Sundays. But
- 37:36Speaker 5: that's the guy that I think, looking at Clemson, looking
- 37:38Speaker 5: at their personnel, that you have to make sure that
- 37:41Speaker 5: you handle up front.
- 37:42Speaker 8: Yeah, and I find it hard to believe that any
- 37:47Speaker 8: one defensive end is going to consistently have a big
- 37:54Speaker 8: impact against a Lane Kiffin run offense. Now, I think
- 37:59Speaker 8: that scheme and one-on-one battles and matchups and good linebacker
- 38:03Speaker 8: and safety play can have a really big impact on it,
- 38:06Speaker 8: but a defensive end or a pass rush position, just
- 38:09Speaker 8: because of the speed of which.
- 38:10Speaker 5: You go, it's.
- 38:13Speaker 8: Going to wear defensive ends out with the pass rush,
- 38:17Speaker 8: and that's what it's designed to do.
- 38:19Speaker 7: It takes away a lot of the threat of the
- 38:21Speaker 7: pass rush.
- 38:21Speaker 8: Now, are we going to have no sacks? No, that's
- 38:24Speaker 8: not the case. But is any one defensive end going
- 38:27Speaker 8: to be able to disrupt an entire game? It's hard
- 38:31Speaker 8: to do versus an offense that goes that fast, and
- 38:34Speaker 8: I think LSU fans will see that throughout the duration
- 38:37Speaker 8: of the season.
- 38:38Speaker 7: I think it starts this weekend.
- 38:40Speaker 8: Yeah, defensive ends get paid a lot of money at
- 38:42Speaker 8: the next level because they can disrupt the game. But
- 38:47Speaker 8: there's really no team in the NFL that goes fast
- 38:49Speaker 8: like this. It's not the type of offense that is
- 38:51Speaker 8: run in the NFL. So at the collegiate level, You
- 38:55Speaker 8: go this fast, it's hard to be disruptive in that way.
- 39:00Speaker 8: So I think a good player, got to know, he
- 39:03Speaker 8: might get a sack. He might have his plays. But
- 39:07Speaker 8: for LSU to have to worry about that one guy
- 39:10Speaker 8: the entirety of the game, I just don't think really
- 39:13Speaker 8: lives in the college level when you run this type
- 39:16Speaker 8: of fast-paced offense.
- 39:20Speaker 7: He graded out it.
- 39:21Speaker 5: 85 last year on Pro Football Focus.
- 39:24Speaker 7: I mean, so we're talking about, like, a really good player.
- 39:26Speaker 5: Like, to Matt's point, like, it's on you to make
- 39:30Speaker 5: sure that he doesn't affect the game that much. Like,
- 39:32Speaker 5: the thing that you do worry about with an edge
- 39:33Speaker 5: rusher is the game's close, he comes off the edge,
- 39:36Speaker 5: sack fumbled, big turnover. Like, that's how an edge rusher
- 39:39Speaker 5: can affect a game and affect it in a very
- 39:42Speaker 5: big way.
- 39:43Speaker 8: It is that, but it's also, like, A really good
- 39:46Speaker 8: defensive end is always hitting the quarterback every single play.
- 39:50Speaker 7: The quarterback's always rushing. He's always in his lap.
- 39:52Speaker 8: Yeah, he gets the sacks, and he creates maybe that
- 39:54Speaker 8: game-changing sack-fumble play. But one sack-sack-fumble doesn't mean to me
- 39:59Speaker 8: he is disrupting the entire game, right? And good defensive
- 40:03Speaker 8: ends do that. Every time you have third down, the
- 40:06Speaker 8: offense goes into the huddle. The defense goes into the huddle.
- 40:09Speaker 8: They're sitting there. They're cracking their neck in the huddle.
- 40:12Speaker 8: They're rolling their shoulders. They're getting ready for that. explosion
- 40:16Speaker 8: off the line of scrimmage. On this offense, you can't
- 40:18Speaker 8: do that. The second down, it doesn't matter if it's
- 40:20Speaker 8: third and eight. After second down, you're getting back and
- 40:23Speaker 8: putting your hand in the dirt and getting ready to go.
- 40:24Speaker 8: You don't have time to think about the explosiveness. You
- 40:29Speaker 8: just have to kind of react in this offense. It's
- 40:31Speaker 8: hard to affect the game for four quarters at a
- 40:33Speaker 8: defensive end.
- 40:34Speaker 5: All right, so three people to watch on Clemson's defense
- 40:37Speaker 5: when you're in Tiger Stadium or watching on TV on
- 40:40Speaker 5: Saturday night will help. Edge rusher, number 13. Let's go
- 40:44Speaker 5: to the next level. Sammy Brown, linebacker, wearing number 47.
- 40:48Speaker 5: Limited athletically, but certainly is a thumper right there in
- 40:51Speaker 5: the middle of their defense. Then you go to the
- 40:54Speaker 5: back end. Corey Myrick coming over from Southern Miss. Now,
- 40:57Speaker 5: he was a really good player at Southern Miss. That's
- 40:59Speaker 5: a completely different conference. Is the Sunbelt a good conference?
- 41:02Speaker 7: It is.
- 41:03Speaker 5: Very competitive. It's a step up. It's a different level.
- 41:06Speaker 5: But you're talking about somebody that graded out with an 87.3 grade.
- 41:10Speaker 5: Last year, he was one of the big gets in
- 41:12Speaker 5: the portal for the Clemson Tigers. So in the back end,
- 41:15Speaker 5: that's who I'm watching for from Clemson. All right, we
- 41:18Speaker 5: will step away. More OTB when we come back your
- 41:20Speaker 5: way here live from the Raising Cane Studio.
- 41:22Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 41:23Speaker 5: All right, go to pelicanroof.com, pelicanroof.com. That is, of course,
- 41:26Speaker 5: the website for Pelican Roofing. It's in Baton Rouge. It's
- 41:29Speaker 5: in Lafayette. And they have offices in both cities, in
- 41:32Speaker 5: both locations. They don't drive back and forth on the basin.
- 41:35Speaker 5: They are there for you in those local communities. They've
- 41:38Speaker 5: always got some great stuff going on. the Veterans Day
- 41:40Speaker 5: Roof Giveaway, Mother's Day Roof Giveaway, the Run with Rufus
- 41:43Speaker 5: they do every single year. And they also, as you know,
- 41:47Speaker 5: they have five-star work on your roof. And that's not
- 41:49Speaker 5: us saying that. That is the Internet saying that. It
- 41:52Speaker 5: typically hates everything, but it loves Pelican Roof. Check out
- 41:55Speaker 5: those over 600 five-star reviews. Those come in organically. That's
- 41:59Speaker 5: not cherry-picked. They come in as they are reviewed, and
- 42:02Speaker 5: you'll be blown away with the customer service and the
- 42:04Speaker 5: work you can get done.
- 42:04Speaker 7: Go to pelicanroof.com today. That's right.
- 42:06Speaker 8: They are the name you think of when you think
- 42:09Speaker 8: of the highest quality roofs in Louisiana. So shingles, metal roofs,
- 42:13Speaker 8: slate roofs, whatever it is. They got financing options as well.
- 42:16Speaker 8: They'll walk you through the entire step of the way.
- 42:20Speaker 8: Pelican Roof, where everybody needs a roof.
- 42:22Speaker 11: Sitting in the morning sun.
- 42:35Speaker 2: I'll be sitting when the evening comes.
- 42:39Speaker 1: Tigers turn talkers. This is Off the Bench.
- 42:43Speaker 11: Then I'll watch them roll away again.
- 42:49Speaker 2: I'm just sitting on the dock of a bay.
- 42:53Speaker 11: Watching the tide roll away. I'm sitting on the dock
- 43:00Speaker 11: of a bay.
- 43:02Speaker 2: Waste of time. I left my home in Georgia.
- 43:11Speaker 5: All right, welcome back in, OTB. Here live on this
- 43:15Speaker 5: Thursday morning. One of the things that we haven't spent
- 43:20Speaker 5: any time on is the specialists for LSU. Kicker, punter, returner.
- 43:32Speaker 5: You had the same kicker for a long time. You
- 43:35Speaker 5: knew who the returner was going to be going into
- 43:38Speaker 5: the season. Now Chadwick's going to be coming back, and
- 43:43Speaker 5: he had a good year last year. You're going to
- 43:46Speaker 5: have a new kicker, though. So that's another part, you know,
- 43:49Speaker 5: when you're playing a big game like this to pay
- 43:51Speaker 5: attention to, watch out for. I know you've got multiple
- 43:55Speaker 5: on the roster, but that's all going to be a
- 43:58Speaker 5: new process. And, again, when you have– Did Ramos end
- 44:03Speaker 5: up like as the all-time leading scorer?
- 44:06Speaker 6: I believe he did, yeah.
- 44:07Speaker 5: He beat Colt David, right? So that's some production that
- 44:12Speaker 5: you're going to be.
- 44:12Speaker 7: Losing out on.
- 44:13Speaker 5: So another thing to pay attention to on Saturday is
- 44:16Speaker 5: that entire process.
- 44:19Speaker 6: Well, and Clemson on the flip side, their kicker's back
- 44:21Speaker 6: for his third year.
- 44:22Speaker 7: And they got Rich Passaccia coaching their special teams. Yeah,
- 44:26Speaker 7: that's pretty good.
- 44:27Speaker 5: Long-time NFL coach.
- 44:29Speaker 7: Yeah, that's pretty good.
- 44:30Speaker 5: Special teams coordinator in a lot of different places. Was
- 44:32Speaker 5: the interim head coach for the Raiders.
- 44:34Speaker 8: I'd say pretty much unanimously respected from every NFL player
- 44:38Speaker 8: in the last 30 years.
- 44:40Speaker 7: Yep.
- 44:41Speaker 5: One of my all-time favorites. A lot of the sayings
- 44:44Speaker 5: I have are from that man.
- 44:45Speaker 7: Right.
- 44:46Speaker 8: She can't win the Kentucky Derby with a jackass. Clemson
- 44:51Speaker 8: just ain't as talented as LSU.
- 44:54Speaker 10: And Dabo's a jackass.
- 44:56Speaker 7: There you go.
- 44:56Speaker 2: Got him.
- 44:57Speaker 7: Got him. Watch out, Knees.
- 45:02Speaker 5: You want him to do it at home, though, not away.
- 45:04Speaker 7: I do. I do. I do. I want to do
- 45:06Speaker 7: it on that hill. And then he rolls a couple
- 45:07Speaker 7: more times.
- 45:10Speaker 5: So, Scott Starzik's going to be, I'm assuming, your kicker.
- 45:15Speaker 5: I mean, he's going to get the first opportunity at it.
- 45:17Speaker 5: We're at number 80.
- 45:19Speaker 7: What's the last name? Starzik.
- 45:26Speaker 5: Arkansas. AR Kansas.
- 45:29Speaker 7: Okay.
- 45:30Speaker 5: As Les would say.
- 45:31Speaker 7: Okay.
- 45:31Speaker 2: Okay.
- 45:34Speaker 5: They can.
- 45:38Speaker 6: They got a lot of options.
- 45:40Speaker 5: Trey Wilson's done it in the past.
- 45:43Speaker 6: Wilson's done it. They've had Watkins back there. They've had
- 45:45Speaker 6: Dylan Jones back there at times. I mean, there's four
- 45:49Speaker 6: or five guys they could run out there.
- 45:53Speaker 7: Right, Matt? Oh, yeah, for sure. A lot of them.
