- 0:55[SPEAKER_01]: Welcome back to the show, Sarah.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much for having me.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's always nice to talk to you because you're incredibly informed and you have an interesting point of view.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_01]: But before I know we're going to talk about some of the things that you've written recently, but evidently you are a rebellious bird feeder.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my god.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm a feeder or something.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: I can't know.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: I can't believe you're asking me about this.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: This is so funny.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: I keep meaning to do like an Instagram video about it, because I mentioned bergate and like one of my recent, yeah, one of my recent rant things.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: So, okay.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: I have a really good friend in Oklahoma and when I was home for the holidays last we were chatting about crows and both of us had been watching like a bunch of different videos about crows and they're really, really smart.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: They recognize people for years at a time.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: There are people who have end up having relationships with them that carry on generations.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_00]: Like, there are, so there's a small flock of, actually, I don't know, that it's that small, but in Rockville, Maryland, there's this flock of crows that has nested in this one area for so long that when somebody tried to build in this area that community was like, what are you doing?
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: like they've lived here before the United States was founded.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: Like wow, wow.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like, and they can actually track back like these crows have been here forever.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: And okay, so my friends and I were talking about this and we're like maybe we should like try and defend some crows and do like our own fun experiment.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: And see if they bring us stuff for, you know, because they tend to like find shiny things and they'll bring them to a human and especially if they feed them so I started feeding the crows and somebody in my building.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I guess flagged it for the property manager and it was like, oh my god, this woman who's a female, like he called me a female.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: So he was like, oh my god, she's feeding the wildlife.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: And the way that he was talking about it made it really kind of sound like I was feeding like the deer and the neighborhood cats and dogs and like stray rats or whatever.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: And it's like,
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: it's a bird feeder, bro.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's not, it's not what you think.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: Like this is not, and so so I've kind of been sort of laying low.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: Like I've been trying to deal with, like, election is in, you know, 19 and a half days and holy crap and yet I got it.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: So, but
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, I talked to my mother and she contributed to the fight back for Bird's Fund, and I now have six bird feeders in my living room and likes 30 pounds of bird seed.
- 4:05[SPEAKER_00]: So, and basically what I was going to do is we, my building is in a neighborhood, it looks out over a neighborhood lots and lots of houses, so I was just going to go to the neighbors and be like, hey, do you mind if I hang this third feeder?
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: on your back fence, like I don't want it to cause any problems anywhere in your house, but you share a lot of these people share the alleyway with their back fence, and so I could just hang it.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I'm not screwing anything in.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not like mounting anything.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: Just going to hang a bird feeder.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: And an explain, you know, like I love the birds.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, that's since our kitty past, you know, like that has been my entertainment.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: So that has been, that has been bird gate.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, that's insane.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_00]: But it's, it's just, it's crazy because then I ended up emailing my property manager and I was like, the way that the dude described it is he was like, I saw this female doing this thing and I approved her.
- 5:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I approached her and asked her what she was doing and she told me this and I was like, okay, well, first of all, no one has ever approached me.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: No one has ever asked me anything.
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: And the only people I've talked about it to, there are two people.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: There's my next door neighbor who is this sweet old lady and would not call you a female.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: And there's this dude that I was riding in the elevator up with while carrying a bag of bird seed.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, there you go.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: And so it's like, I know exactly who this is.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: And when I named the unit number to the property manager, I was like, it was this person.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_00]: Why didn't he lie?
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: Why didn't he lie about this situation and say that I was feeding wildlife?
- 5:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: And she was like, there's no way he could have been talking about you.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: That makes no sense.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: Because you're just feeding the birds.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, exactly.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: But who asked what it had been?
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: Like he he he he was literally after this conversation the next day She sends out this building.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: Why do you know why you got a yuck.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_00]: My um you know shit stir it's the freaking birds.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: Man.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's just birds don't live Sarah alone
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: It's like we've Britney alone or like we've the crowds alone.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: They just need to eat through the winter of what got there.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: There is a squirrel though.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: We have a squirrel named Kevin that, yeah, that we've been thrown a couple and not to everyone.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I used to, when I lived in California, I had like a little patio in the squirrel would come up and I named her.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_01]: I named the squirrel Rachel.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know what sex this squirrel was, but I just right.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_01]: Rachel was a great name for her.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_01]: So I've decided that Rachel is a girl and she was so cute and she would like I had some cats and so the cats would watch her And eventually, I mean, they were like literally not even a foot away from each other and the squirrel didn't care And then eventually the squirrel just would come up and write up to the window and look at my cats and it was like it was so cool Oh my god, and it's always funny like cats will sometimes when they're watching birds or squirrels They make that little like chirping sound and it's so precious
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know what's funny.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: I actually saw a video where somebody slowed that down and if you slow it down and slow motion, it sounds like the cat is doing an evil laugh and it's like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa,
- 7:42[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wow.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_01]: That's hilarious.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: This is bird day bird dates.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we'll segue into Donald Trump because again, I am I'm not going to forget.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_01]: I want to ask you about what you're writing, but I do want to talk about Donald Trump because first of all, you know, I love to talk about his poor family health.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not only going to focus on that, but I am going to focus on his atrophied brain.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: I keep you
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: urging people, go look what, just go to Google and write healthy brain versus atrophy brain.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: It has an atrophy brain right now, then I'm not trying to be funny.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's the truth.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: So look at the difference and the brain kind of shrinks, right?
- 8:24[SPEAKER_01]: Because it's just losing it's, I don't know, ability to function properly.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: Well, everybody's brain shrinks after you know that they 25 so I'm talking about like if you're going to look at the difference between a healthy brain in a 70 year old man and an atrophy brain right there that's what I'm talking that's the that's what I mean.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_01]: And so that it's becoming smaller and you know, it's not just because it's losing moisture, but it's it's clearly drying up right so last okay he's been saying such horrible things because he always says horrible things and I think I think the point to this that I'm going to make is that moving forward every day gets progressively worse for him.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_01]: So he keeps saying weird shit like the other day he was praising that man's body and his how he I check out his ass and everything and let's not forget that before the election he was pretending to give a microphone a blow job and he was going on and on and on about how big Arnold Palmer's dick was.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_01]: So
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: There's, oh, and then I just want to throw this in there because epistemic crisis doctor who is on Instagram and talks about his health he was talking about the fact that Donald Trump and why he was such good friends with Jeff Jeffrey Epstein and he said they were friends because they had this in common for for Donald Trump and also Epstein sex is not it's not like the libido issue like it is for most people it's about exerting control so therefore gender does not matter.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't matter what gender you are.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's about exerting control.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, they can have a sexual orgasmic release, but it's not the same thing as somebody who's not trying to control someone else.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's just like, two people who are attracted to each other and then they go and they have some fun.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: That's different than what Donald Trump is doing and that's what the doctor was explaining.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: And I just thought that was interesting because in the movie, the apprentice,
- 10:26[SPEAKER_01]: nuanced scene where Roy Cohen was having sex with a man and Donald saw them and was kind of interested.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it was very nuanced because you'd have to kind of get, it was a very small little act.
- 10:41[SPEAKER_01]: on Sebastian Stan, I think, is the guy who played Trump.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_01]: So it was so small, but you could see it because there was an interest.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: And so it basically suggested to you that he might have some of those tendencies, but I think it's interesting in the way that the doctor frames it, that it's not so much about, oh, I'm attracted to this man or this woman.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_01]: I need to dominate.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: I want to be powerful.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_01]: And for them, that's what it's all about.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: So he reads.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: So in his speeches that he's giving his rallies, his, oh my god, his crazy fucking rallies.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: So last night, he says, I guess it was last night.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's called the cognitive,
- 11:24[SPEAKER_01]: A cognitive test is very standard test, but tough, very tough.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: There are a few people in this audience that can, once you get past the first question, they show you a lion, a bear, a giraffe, and a snake, and they say, which one was the lion?
- 11:40[SPEAKER_01]: Biden was unable to answer that, and quote.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_01]: So it's a very standard test, and it's very tough.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_01]: They show you a lion, a bear, a giraffe, and a snake, and they say,
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: My God.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: So I think what's going to happen.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: He said some other shit, he keeps saying stupid shit.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I think what's going to happen as long as he's alive, right, and continues to get worse.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's a good chance of he could be blurting out crimes.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_01]: He could be blurting out things because he's just losing his whatever is left of his filter.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: And yes, he has a filter because he's not blurting up those crimes right now.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: But so I just want to get your take on all of this.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_00]: So there are also a couple of psychologists, and there's a body language expert, and then I also follow a guy who is a cultism expert.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: And so I watched their explainers a whole lot, and one of the things that the body language expert, and I've written about some of the things that he's observed, he usually watches Trump's speeches,
- 12:49[SPEAKER_00]: That's where you're going to get the perfect example of both physical and mental impulses.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: Like, that's where it's going to be the most visible.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: And you see these physical ticks that Trump has, where like his shoulder will jump or his arm will jump.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_00]: And what I had never noticed before until this week is any, he showed this on the video is,
- 13:17[SPEAKER_00]: is Trump starts slurring his words right after he has one of those physical ticks.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's interesting.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_00]: And so there was like, um, like, whenever Trump sort of turned to the side and you could see his back shoulder kind of jumping, like he was twitching.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_00]: And then he said some things that were kind of garbled, you know, I should do that.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_00]: It just doesn't print out.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, it's just oddly pronounced.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: And so I had never noticed that before.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_00]: And now that I've started watching for it, now it's like I can't stop seeing it.
- 13:53[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know this doctor's name?
- 13:56[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, crap.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I got my pen and no pen.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_00]: Garrison, doc, he goes by Dr. G on, um, on YouTube, but I think it's John Paul Garrison.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and he is a psychologist or psychiatrist, um, he focuses on, um, what is he call it, nonverbal communication.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_00]: There's something like that.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but he, uh, so I've been, you know, just seeing his stuff for a while, but once you start paying attention to it, you know, it's kind of like, wow, this is, this really is happening.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_00]: And I think the other piece of it is for anybody who reads his quotes from those rallies versus hearing them.
- 14:43[SPEAKER_00]: it really shows it highlights the kind of the insanity of the way his brain is working and how he's jumping from thing to, and it's just very, I mean, obviously any English major who's around James Joyce is like, oh, I recognize that.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_00]: But, but he, um, the thing that Dr.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_00]: Gears
- 15:13[SPEAKER_00]: or the increase in impulse, and the more that you're brain atrophies.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: And so the impulses of saying things that he's thinking out loud like, you know, the sky's ass or, you know, she was hotter, you know, I moved on her, you know, like,
- 15:35[SPEAKER_00]: All of that, I think, comes from is connected to all of this, and it's, I mean, I think I've told you before my grandfather had dementia and we never could really figure out.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: Even after death, when it was tested, he did not have Alzheimer's.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_00]: It didn't have a Louis Vuitton dementia, but there was something very strange going on that nobody could ever figure out.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_00]: And so I watched, I used to hold up flashcards for him.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_00]: And so I would see if he could do the states and capitals, versus flashcards for multiplication tables.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_00]: And he could not do the states and capitals, but he could do all of the multiplication tables.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_00]: And for me, both of those things are memorization and so I'm like, how is it that if you've memorized all of this stuff, you know, you still can't.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you still only one of those out of the other is you're able to like shout out off the top of your head.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_00]: And so I, I just, you know, immediately I'm thinking of Trump and his visualizations and different, you know, the animals he has to identify.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm just kind of wondering, like, how is that versus the piece of the test, that is the test your short term memory?
- 17:03[SPEAKER_00]: And that's the person, woman, man, camera TV part, where they ask you.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_00]: And honestly, this is not like a unique to Trump thing any time you do a physical for Medicare.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_00]: they give you this test.
- 17:17[SPEAKER_00]: Because they're trying to create a baseline.
- 17:18[SPEAKER_00]: What's been unique about Trump is they give it to him multiple times a year.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_00]: But I remember like my mom and my mom had to have one the first time after she got a medicare.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_00]: She was like oh my gosh they they asked me the person woman man camera TV question.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_00]: Which is they're just saying, I'm giving you a list of four things, hold these things in your brain.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to ask you what they were again later on.
- 17:45[SPEAKER_00]: And my mom told me what they were.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_00]: And then immediately later after we were talking, I completely forgot what they were.
- 17:52[SPEAKER_01]: But I remembered the person, woman, man, camera TV.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_00]: Because I was like, how was too focused on, you know, whenever I'm old?
- 18:07[SPEAKER_00]: Just for, just for Grins, and then they'll be like in 12-year-olds.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_00]: Doctor, who's like, I've never been here before.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: You know, right?
- 18:14[UNKNOWN]: Oh my god.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wow.
- 18:17[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I don't know.
- 18:18[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I mean, I have been on Trump Death Watch for a while.
- 18:22[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know what it's going to happen, obviously.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_01]: But we can all see that it's going to happen, right?
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I don't know.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's sooner than it was.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_00]: It turns out we all die.
- 18:30[SPEAKER_00]: It turns out.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: So, yeah, breaking it.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: And on top of it, he's not doing well.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_01]: I think that, you know, based on his age, his symptoms that we can see that we can't verify but we can see, and all of that.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we know that the end is not, but is that in five years, is that in two years?
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_01]: But I do think though, he is as much,
- 18:51[SPEAKER_01]: destruction that happens as a result of him and his words and his actions is the best thing for the Democratic Party.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_01]: Mainly because we've already established, I've probably said it with you and on every other show, that independence really helped decide elections and independence that are
- 19:18[SPEAKER_01]: So, and people are not showing up to as rallies at the same numbers, that we're seeing all over the place.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: I think today I just, I don't know what the percentage was, but in Ohio, early voting is significantly since 2022.
- 19:32[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so let's see, which I don't remember which states these are, but
- 19:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yesterday there was a state.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, I can't remember it.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it was North Carolina.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_01]: But I think it was like they had 130,000 votes early voting in 2022 and now it's 185,000.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_01]: And then there was goodness.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm not sure it's a police don't quote me on the North Carolina.
- 19:53[SPEAKER_01]: But it was there was another another state.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_01]: that, you know, I see things when I'm scrolling and I didn't keep them so pardon me for my ignorance, but it was just another state that the early voting just far surpassed 2022.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_01]: I would really like to see the difference that between 2018 because I, you know, we had a big 2018.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_01]: So and he was president then too.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_01]: So this, you know, they're going off of the last midterm.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_01]: But I would just like to see and I think it's important to base it on that because Biden was president So we've had a different motivation So especially from Republicans, but I think you know, we're seeing here that Donald Trump is absolutely a detriment to his own party and It makes me feel I know that they're letting Republicans are kind of letting go.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_01]: They've given up
- 20:46[SPEAKER_01]: It says, like, here I've got this, this is from wire.com, white two white, oh no, Trump White House AIDS.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_01]: See almost no paths to a public and seeking control of the house.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_01]: And they're just basically trying to save the Senate majority.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_01]: So what I want to ask you about, and I've asked you about this before, but I'm going to ask you again, how do you feel about the Senate?
- 21:07[SPEAKER_00]: I do feel a little bit better about it than I have in the past.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that is coming from mostly from Texas, honestly.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_00]: But the other part is Kansas.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_00]: the the degree to which Republicans are racing to throw more money into Kansas kind of and and I would say Iowa as well like both of those and then at least Jordan had a focus group this morning that she showed.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_00]: that were all ex-Trump voters and and I think they like the way that they're talking about the Senate candidates are very much they don't trust the Republican.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_00]: They see her as being just another you know millionaire who's trying to make money off of her position.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_00]: They aren't necessarily
- 22:07[SPEAKER_00]: But they were leaning more toward him than her and they were kind of like just completely against her.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_00]: And if that kind of carries, like if that's the way things are going to break, where undecided or independence are like, I don't really like her.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_00]: I'm fine voting for him, whatever.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_00]: You know, there's that piece of it.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_00]: And then there's the Republicans that are so hacked off that they'll leave it blank.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_00]: And those two factors, you're seeing in Texas, in particular, that I'm going to leave it blank from Republicans, and then from like Kansas, and I think there are more Republicans willing to cross the line.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_00]: But I think those two are a better indicator of where we're going to be then looking at something like
- 23:00[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Georgia or North Carolina where Republicans have already pulled out, you know, like, they've, they've, they've seeded that already, but it's going to come down to like the biggest piece of this will be, and I've talked about this in a couple of people, if we can take back a few of these red states, I don't think the Senate is going to move much in the six years that follow just looking at the seats that are up for reelection in 28 in particular.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_00]: at a little bit into 30, but 28 in particular, there's no movement.
- 23:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's maybe one seat, like if maybe if they went after Ron Johnson, they could flip that and Wisconsin, but everything else, there's no movement in these states.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_00]: They're solid red or solid blue.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_00]: And so that when you start thinking about the Supreme Court is a really big deal, because if your, because Alito's already made it pretty clear, I'm not retiring.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not retiring.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so that means he and Thomas have got a stick around for six more years.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know that they can.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, really.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it really will, they will die there before they'll leave, yeah.
- 24:20[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, like both of them are going to be like 82 and 86.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god.
- 24:28[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and, and just to add what you're saying, Tallarico raised 64 million dollars in quarter three, which was the most of any
- 24:42[SPEAKER_01]: So I mean, I find him to be utterly fascinating.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_01]: And, oh my god, the idea that, you know, I was hearing from certain neighbors, and they know who they are, that there was gonna be some big October surprise on Talleriko.
- 24:57[SPEAKER_01]: And this was what it was.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: It was a made up bullshit thing of having to go to a mental hospital.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_01]: And then the hospitals like, yeah, he's never been here.
- 25:06[UNKNOWN]: So.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_01]: and then I think didn't they have like a footage or something of his home at the time in question and he was there.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_01]: Tell her he was at his home with the flu, as he said.
- 25:19[SPEAKER_00]: With the flu.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_00]: Which reminds me to get my flu shot.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_01]: Um, don't only do not get your flu shot and your COVID shot at the same time.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
- 25:29[SPEAKER_01]: No, I definitely don't I think that this year and I was like, oh my god, but I'm such a whimp.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_00]: I just needals fruit can be out.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_00]: And so it's like I can eat it.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, they don't bother me.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's just it was the next day.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_01]: I thought I was going to die.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_01]: I because I had gotten my last year.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_01]: I got flew in RSV together.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_01]: And this year, I kept confusing it and thinking that I had COVID and flew together.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_01]: So I thought, OK, I'm going to get my COVID and flew together again.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_01]: So I go on.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_01]: I get and then, oh my god.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_01]: it started the night before or the night that I got it, I should say.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_01]: And I did not feel good.
- 26:03[SPEAKER_01]: And I went to bed and then I woke up and I thought I was going to die.
- 26:07[SPEAKER_01]: I thought I was going to die all day.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_01]: And pretty much nothing helped.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_01]: I just felt so horrible.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_01]: It lasted two days only the second day was much more bearable.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_01]: I was just kind of worn out.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_01]: But it was so uncomfortable.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_01]: I hated it.
- 26:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm never doing that again.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_01]: I will always space those shots out again.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_01]: Other shots you can get together.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you know, like I said, the RSV and the flu didn't really affect me.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_01]: I get a little tired from the flu shot, but it was like the COVID and the flu together, that oh, I know some people can't.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_01]: I can't.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_00]: I just can't deal with the needles.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_00]: So that many needles nowadays, I just want to go away.
- 26:44[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to have a total panic attack about it.
- 26:48[SPEAKER_00]: I will say the HPV vaccine.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_00]: That one worked badly.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, yeah, and I had read a couple of things online about it.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_00]: But since they raised the age that you could get it, I was like, oh crap, you know, before I turn whatever.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_00]: I need to make sure that I got this thing.
- 27:07[SPEAKER_01]: No, let me ask you this, when you say it hurt, was it like burning when it went in?
- 27:10[SPEAKER_01]: Is that what you're saying?
- 27:12[SPEAKER_00]: No, it was, um, it, my whole arm hurt like for a good couple days after.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_00]: Because sometimes, like the, the COVID shot would make my arm hurt, um, but it'd be like a, you know, a nighter or whatever.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_01]: And and I always like do the whole mover arm around and rub it and you got to got it and it's still Mindless mind her to worse the never so I mean I've also had the shoulder pain from or the pain of the injection where the injection site, but this was the worst so yeah I lesson learned But I do I do not want to forget so I want to know what what you've been writing about
- 27:59[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I don't know if anybody watched the the press briefing this week, but boy was laugh.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_00]: That was entertaining.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_00]: What I actually found more entertaining than the press briefing is the inevitable White House leaking that came after.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_00]: That has been a site to behold just how quickly the White House staff was to throw her under the bus.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_00]: And my sort of conspiracy theory, so there's a bunch of stories today on Susie Wiles, one of them being, so yesterday there was a thing about her daughter and her relationships with Russians, and then, but this morning there was a thing in Politico's playbook about the Trump is kind of thinking about throwing her out and that it's time for a change or whatever.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_00]: And what is funny to me is the hiring of Katie, what's her name?
- 28:59[SPEAKER_00]: Zachariah.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_00]: Zachariah.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_00]: Katie Zachariah, the hiring her of her Trump basically went around whilst back and did it anyway.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_00]: And so it made me start wondering this morning,
- 29:13[SPEAKER_00]: you know, it's very clear she was not ready for that press briefing.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_00]: And I wonder if that was part of Susie Wild's plot to get rid of her is, oh, yeah, we're so great.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's exciting to have you.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_00]: Why don't you go out there and do the briefing.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_00]: knowing very well that she was clearly not prepared for them, but then the next piece of it, the whole lawyer questions, like what was what was so funny is when, because everybody started asking those, you know, like she's been saying for years on Fox News, I'm a corporate lawyer, I'm a corporate lawyer, I practice corporate law.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there is just a super cut a video from that.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_00]: And she, oh my god, it's when they asked her, you know, where, where, where are you barred, like where did you get your bar?
- 30:03[SPEAKER_00]: License.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_00]: She made some comment about China and you could see Trump like he had
- 30:12[SPEAKER_00]: he had sort of turned to her to see what her answer was going to be and started to turn back and then like, did a double take.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_00]: Where he was just like, he turned back a little bit and then he, and it was like, why?
- 30:24[SPEAKER_01]: That makes no sense.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_01]: Like, even his afterfree brain knew that.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_00]: It was like, hang on a minute.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_00]: And so that, of course, obviously, like immediately I started thinking,
- 30:36[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, wait a minute, you can't get your law license in China unless you're a citizen of China.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_00]: And if you're, if you have dual citizenship of, of the US and China, why do you have dual citizenship?
- 30:49[SPEAKER_00]: And what are your relationships like in China?
- 30:52[SPEAKER_00]: And have you passed through, you know, the DOD background checks?
- 30:56[SPEAKER_00]: And immediately I just went to, oh, my god, security threat, right?
- 31:01[SPEAKER_00]: So, um,
- 31:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that whole cluster was a site to behold.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and now that the Wall Street Journal is reporting that she's never passed the bar that she found the test in 2011 in California, once she moved to China, she served in an international legal consultant which did not require passing the bar.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_00]: So, um, and what is interesting to me is that, um, I guess whenever you're in China,
- 31:33[SPEAKER_00]: they will often times, if you have somebody, if you're a spouse of somebody working for a Chinese company, the CCP or the Chinese government will just get your spouse a job somewhere, and apparently anybody who's gone to law school, they turn you into like some kind of international intern, you know, it's like a paid internship, and you don't, I mean it's, it's, you know, like a
- 32:00[SPEAKER_00]: um, which doesn't require you to at least stand up and court and say anything.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_01]: So, yes, that whole thing, and not only that, I mean, all these women look like fucking Ivanka.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, that's the piece of it that's kind of gross.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: It is.
- 32:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's just gross.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: Whether it's Caroline Levitt, Natalie Harp, Katie Zechariah, or Zechariah, or whatever her name is, all of these women, they're all these Fox News Barbie dolls that look like a bonka, and it's disgusting.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_01]: Ew, the whole thing just creeps me out.
- 32:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's weird.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_00]: It makes me wonder,
- 32:42[SPEAKER_00]: You know, how much of Trump's hiring process is really just about that whole central casting thing.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_00]: Because that clearly, that clearly has been the thing with Pete Higgs-Seth, right?
- 32:58[SPEAKER_00]: And now I think Hagsat is sort of endeared himself to Trump by, by constantly saying, you know, look, I'm a media target just like you, like they're coming after me, just like you.
- 33:09[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that makes Trump identify with him and want to kind of protect him more.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_00]: When any other president would see, you know, what Hagset has done and his complete screw up, Trump's old own screw up and in Iran and saying, oh, this is going to be great.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_00]: I can just throw this guy under the bus and make him take responsibility for my own screw ups.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_00]: which if I were him, that's what I'd be doing right now.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but he's, he's got a demented brain and he's an ego pig, and he's a malignant narcissist.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_01]: So he doesn't think like regular people think.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was gonna say like if it's a, that would be admitting defeat, I think.
- 33:48[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_00]: He can't, I don't think he's ready for that, yeah.
- 33:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, he's never ready for that.
- 33:52[SPEAKER_01]: Although, did you hear there's, they're not gonna be live streaming.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, you shouldn't.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_01]: That's good.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure even Republicans, a lot of Republicans were like no and I'm so glad that that didn't happen or it's not going happen because I think that even though it's just one more horrible thing to add on it would have been something that I know too many people will it would have enjoyed watching and I don't think we need that at all right now that is something that would hurt us.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_01]: in a way that I can't really, you know, I don't know who would even be.
- 34:24[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure you could have experts talking about the damage that it would do, but it would just, it would be so much, and it would be that nuanced kind of damage, because I don't know, with young, young people would be watching this, you know, and yes, so what it would do to their fucking brains.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_00]: Well, another thing I heard Mark Hurtling talking about it, retired lieutenant general, Mark Hurtling said, you know, there's two pieces of this.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_00]: One, there's the imagine you are the soldier who has who's doing this.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_00]: You know, nobody really fully understands what it feels like to take somebody's life until they do it and what impact that will have on them and he said the other piece of it he said is that this turns into a huge propaganda opportunity for everyone in the Middle East who are part of these terrorist groups who have been saying for years this is a war.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_00]: of Islam against the West, and here's a perfect example of it, you know, this is what they're doing to our people, and it becomes a recruitment opportunity for terrorist groups.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_00]: I think the real reason that Trump decided that they didn't, that he wasn't in a live stream, it is he found out that the guy is like a 60-year-old man in a wheelchair and he's paralyzed.
- 35:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think in his head, he had this idea of this, you know, World War II scene like black and white movie where this looks romanticized and instead it's going to be like some, you know, old dude who can't even stand up.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_00]: And that just doesn't the optics of that are really, really bad.
- 36:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it doesn't matter how horrible the guy was.
- 36:07[SPEAKER_01]: The fact that he's like not even able to stand on his own.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that optics.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, I would say too, I mean, just the dangers of all of that, like you have to have a certain kind of execution chamber, I guess.
- 36:27[SPEAKER_00]: And I mean, immediately I first thought firing a gun at something metal just seems like a really bad idea.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_00]: thinking of the wheelchair and what Ricochet could do.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 36:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, on my brain, it was going all kinds of different places.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_00]: Like, how is this going to work?
- 36:44[SPEAKER_00]: The only place they usually do this is Leavenworth, is it Fort Leavenworth?
- 36:47[SPEAKER_00]: So how?
- 36:49[SPEAKER_00]: You know, did they like have a chamber that they like extricate and take down to Fort Hood?
- 36:54[SPEAKER_00]: Like how is this going to work?
- 36:56[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but yeah, the whole piece of it just seems kind of horrific in general.
- 37:04[SPEAKER_00]: Like I, it's weird to me that people would watch that.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_01]: I know, but they would, but they would, and that's what's so gross, you know, I mean, and yes, it would have all kinds of effects on, you know, I mean, depending on who you are, everybody's got a different brain and point of view and, you know, it, we already have people leading this country who are, they're, they're pedophiles, they're rapists, they're sex traffickers, and now we're going, you know, now to have a live stream.
- 37:36[SPEAKER_01]: of, you know, people actually taking delight in the murder of somebody else, the execution of so.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's so incredibly damaging to psyches.
- 37:48[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, I mean, there's the national psyche, there's the collective, and then there's the individuals.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_01]: And we, you know, I know that it's not going, whatever happens is not going to end.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_01]: Like Donald Trump dying or getting kicked out of
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: We have a lot of issues that we have to deal with in this country primarily because Republicans have had too much power and not, you know, they're disgusting.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's just so sad what I mean, Lindsey Graham was right when he predicted that the, you know, they would lose their party and they pretty much did.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if they're ever going to be able to get it back.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_01]: I do think that when we win.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully, it would be great if we could win in the Senate, because I think what's going to happen is we're going to see more Republicans no matter who's president, whether it would be JD events or Trump or whoever.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think we're going to see more Republicans working with Democrats because they want to keep their jobs because it's so I mean, look Susan Collins has proved how addicting power is.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_01]: So it's not even, I mean, they get money and everything like that, but I think it's more about the power, they get all these perks, they get treated a certain way and they get really used to it.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think they want to give up that power and they recognize that Trump is just the albatross around their next.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_01]: And so I think that we're going to see more Republicans working with Democrats so they can save their positions.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I'm right about this maybe I'm wrong, but I think that's true to some extent what I what I hope will happen is that is that folks understand like Republicans start to understand that it is not that they're just so far removed from the public.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_00]: And when I see when I saw the debate with Susan Collins, that's the one thing that I really like hit me as I was like,
- 39:38[SPEAKER_00]: Do you?
- 39:38[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's just it is when she, when Troy Jackson made like some comment about how, you know, she's been on the government paycheck for so long and she's never not held there.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_00]: And she goes, that's not true.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_00]: I spent a year without healthcare and I was just like, oh, for the love of God.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, in the 90s in the 90s.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no, it's just like, God, this is so bad.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_00]: You have, first of all, you have no clue.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_00]: what you just said and how stupid it was.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_00]: But you have no clue what that looks like to people who have gone so long with that health insurance or who are facing like a $1,000 premium spike.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_00]: Which everybody is because they've lost their their subsidies.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_00]: And so that piece of it and it seems like the more
- 40:31[SPEAKER_00]: Chris Collins in Georgia, watching that debate.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_00]: And but John Offsuff just talking about like, you have literal Nazis working for you.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_00]: And Collins is like, his Collins is like, well, so what if they're Nazis?
- 40:45[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, go my God, did you use not hearing yourself?
- 40:48[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no, no, no.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and was it Collins who was talking about the poor forgotten white man?
- 40:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was like, oh, for the love of the poor forgotten Nazis.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're just feeling left out.
- 41:04[SPEAKER_01]: That's what's happening.
- 41:06[SPEAKER_00]: And so I honestly wonder, like, is this because Elected officials, and this is obviously a bipartisan issue.
- 41:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like, is our elected officials so far removed from the average person that they just don't have a clue.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_00]: And one of the things I read in like Kim Paxton is that another really good example of that.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_00]: But I read an interview with Texas Monthly didn't interview with the former speaker, Republican speaker, where he was kind of walking through this idea of, you know, the Republican party is basically a band nest and they were talking about issues that nobody cares about.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_00]: And none of the money that they have spent.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_00]: just like $350 million at this point that they've dumped into the Texas Senate.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_00]: He's like not one that is that is not moved to the needle one bit in Texas and it's because they're talking about issues that do not matter to people.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_00]: And the way that he was describing it and talking about it seemed like he has a finger on the pull on somebody's pulse.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_00]: You know versus the their
- 42:19[SPEAKER_00]: on the elected Republic and party who has their finger on doners, you know, on the millionaires and billionaires.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'll trump has again, all he's got on Tala Rico is that he's a gay vaguen right.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that has been so crazy.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_00]: And just, I mean, I think that the former speaker was saying is he was like, he was actually one of the Republicans who said I'm not voting for kin packs.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_00]: He said, I will, I don't think I'll vote for Talleriko, but I will not vote for Ken Paxson.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_00]: I will leave it blank.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we're talking some peached Ken Paxson.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 43:00[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, it's fucking, let me ask you this though.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_01]: Do you think that I know, OK, again, I know you're not an oracle, but I'm just like wondering in your gut, how do you feel about Troy Jackson in versus Susan Collins?
- 43:12[SPEAKER_01]: Do you think he's got a shot?
- 43:18[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's the problem as I've read all this stuff.
- 43:21[SPEAKER_00]: OK. And I do.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_00]: And I do.
- 43:24[SPEAKER_00]: like I'm already starting to kind of do analysis ahead of time and because I'm going to I'll be working election nights I'm like okay so what is the what is the state of the race?
- 43:33[SPEAKER_00]: What does this look like and there still is a as of you know polls in the last week or so there's still a chunk of people who are still undecided it's a very small chunk and they are within the margin of error and so it can really could flip either way
- 43:51[SPEAKER_00]: And that is weird to me, it will all come down to turn out in that state.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_00]: Every single ounce of it will be about turn out.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_00]: And if people are more angry at Susan Collins, they are more likely to vote versus supporters of her who are just like,
- 44:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly, because if you, if you have a passionate kind of point of view, you're more likely to be motivated to action rather than just, you know, okay.
- 44:24[SPEAKER_00]: And that is where I've kind of been approaching some of these races where it seems, it's that idea of the early voting numbers, like you were saying, if early voting numbers in that state are sky high, she's out, you know, like I think you could figure this out in a couple of
- 44:41[SPEAKER_00]: and a couple of weeks, do you think that where she is?
- 44:44[SPEAKER_01]: Do you think on an election night we're going to know fast?
- 44:49[SPEAKER_01]: My mother is, so that's why I'm asking you.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_00]: I think yes on Collins, there will be some races that I don't necessarily know that we'll get right away, Texas will go late just because there's so many time zones.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, like you go all the way into mountain times zones, and you don't only know what they have planned, you know, the repository.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, we're already seeing the craziness in California, and there's a the attorney general is moved on this idea that I guess the DOJ is like you will hand us over all of these names or we're going to seize your ballots and so they're going to court like as soon as possible over that like they've already California's already filed the suit.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_00]: But, I mean, there's going to be more hijinks like that.
- 45:50[SPEAKER_00]: I will be curious to see if they have hijinks in places like Kansas and Iowa.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_01]: Uh-huh.
- 45:57[SPEAKER_00]: Um, more traditionally.
- 45:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_00]: But the thing is, I don't know that I feel like it's so last minute that I don't know what kind of infrastructure Republicans have built to dispatch to those red states.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_00]: I think for places like Maine, Ohio, like places they know are battlegrounds.
- 46:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think they've already got people on the ground ready to dispute stuff.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_00]: They've got, you know, they already have plans in place to try and
- 46:28[SPEAKER_00]: stick people in polling places to question, you know, every democratic comes across the board.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know the extent to which they have planned for this in Kansas and I am.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's a good point, right?
- 46:40[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, I think especially for states like Kansas and Iowa, we're going to have the results that night.
- 46:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 46:49[SPEAKER_00]: Trying to think about other states that we that may take a while.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I can guarantee that Alaska is going to take for freaking ever.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be like LA level forever.
- 47:05[SPEAKER_01]: And I swear I'm not looking forward to that night.
- 47:09[SPEAKER_01]: I know that I'm just I'm going to have a stomach ache.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_00]: Honestly, I think we're going to win Alaska.
- 47:15[SPEAKER_00]: I think you're really hot on.
- 47:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I really do.
- 47:18[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not necessarily because dance Sullivan number one is so terrible.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're going to split votes with the two Sullivan's.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't remember if there's a, I don't remember who, there's not like a third, another person in that race.
- 47:38[SPEAKER_00]: There's just that three, right?
- 47:40[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, I'm not following that race, so I don't know.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_00]: But I think Mary Partola takes that.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think she really does.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_01]: That's awesome.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_00]: And not necessarily because Dan Sullivan is like, you know, shit the bed over it, she is just really, really well-liked.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, just interviews with people really talk about her being, you know, a great person and really responsive and constituent services.
- 48:05[SPEAKER_00]: And so, I mean, especially with smaller states like that, stuff like constituent services is a big deal.
- 48:11[SPEAKER_00]: Like that stuff matters.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_00]: And when you have the National Republican Party and all of your messaging is about the transgender.
- 48:21[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_00]: And people are like, yeah, I just paid $7 for Freaking.
- 48:26[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't give a shit.
- 48:28[SPEAKER_01]: Would your lie about, I think like the Republican lie is that you go to school and come home a different sex or some sort of different gender, right?
- 48:38[SPEAKER_01]: Or a cat.
- 48:39[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_00]: Remember that one?
- 48:41[SPEAKER_00]: That was weird.
- 48:44[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I do.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_00]: So, yeah, I think, I think, uh, Alaska goes.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_00]: One of the interesting things I saw earlier this week is there was a Republican poll that came out about the Arkansas Senate race, and there have been some very, very nice well-intentioned, you know, liberal podcasters who have invited on the woman who's running against Tom Cotton.
- 49:07[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but she is not a well-funded candidate.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_00]: She is not a well-known candidate.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_00]: She is a farmer who a soybean farmer.
- 49:17[SPEAKER_00]: So you know where why she's running, right?
- 49:20[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and she's she seems great, but it is very much, um, like, you know, people just don't know her and she's not going to be on TV.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_00]: Arkansas 64 to 33 against Harris.
- 49:40[SPEAKER_00]: Right now, Tom Cotton is polling at 50% and she's I think 39.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't think that there's going to be some huge swaying where she wins, but just the fact that he as a Republican
- 49:54[SPEAKER_00]: has fallen that far.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not like he's he's done anything really publicly crazy.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_00]: He's been pretty quiet for the last year or so.
- 50:05[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, the fact that the even a Republican polling firm is seeing a swing like that is like whoa, that that blows my mind.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_00]: And I think we'd heard a couple of things from Republican caucus meetings a month or so ago where they were telling Republicans in the caucus meeting if your if your district is an R plus 10 you're losing.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_00]: And when I heard that they were saying that I was like, I'm going to hold I'm going to hold out on that and see what numbers actually look like.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_00]: So, but after seeing that, do you pull a from markets, I was like, seriously.
- 50:44[SPEAKER_00]: Dude.
- 50:47[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, it's, you know, we keep doing this, you know, we're always at the election time.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_01]: Please, let's change, I mean, in 2020 we thought we were out of the woods, but Trump was still there, and obviously we weren't out of the woods, and I don't, I'm not saying we're necessary, I don't think this one election is going to solve everything, obviously, but I do think that this is, you know, going back to that Ruth Bader Ginsburg quote that, you know, the pendulum always swings in the opposite direction, so we have been going in this direction for a while, even though
- 51:18[SPEAKER_01]: it kind of slowed down with Biden.
- 51:21[SPEAKER_01]: It didn't stop.
- 51:22[SPEAKER_01]: It did gain momentum although while he was present, I think it slowed down for the election.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_01]: But then for for for for myriad reasons,
- 51:31[SPEAKER_01]: people never give the Democrats the credit they deserve for all the good that they do.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_01]: And the public doesn't, and I'm not trying to make Democrats into be, you know, this wonderful savior of everything, but between these two parties, yes, they're the ones doing things for people.
- 51:48[SPEAKER_01]: And it just doesn't get reported on as much as it should because of corporate media and the
- 51:56[SPEAKER_01]: You know, we're always, you know, hoping we win the selection and I do think, you know, whether whatever election it is, but I think, and I'm hoping I'm right about this, that, you know, there is this collective desire for change and it I think.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_01]: The way that things have been set up prior to Donald Trump made a lot of that change very difficult over turning citizens united getting money out of politics all these kinds of things all these things that sounded wonderful but like in that current system wasn't really going to happen, but now he's destroyed things so badly.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_01]: that it's given that opportunity, you know, people are really going, you know what?
- 52:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think I do want universal health care.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_01]: I think I do want to have some of these things that I've been hearing about, but you know, some of these on the fence is especially the middle of the road people who are afraid of that shit.
- 52:49[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're like, okay, things are so bad now.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like, what I'm trying to say is I do see a benefit in all of this destruction because it gives us an opportunity, but then it is up to
- 53:00[SPEAKER_01]: It is up to us to change things.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_01]: Otherwise, Republicans are just going to keep doing what they're doing, and we'll be stuck in this loop forever.
- 53:08[SPEAKER_01]: But I think that there is an out if we can get our shit together as a, you know, I know that people are still going to have their jobs and their kids and they're not going to be always paying attention to politics, but as long as they're uncomfortable, they are moved to action.
- 53:23[SPEAKER_01]: And so I think so many people in this country right now are extremely uncomfortable, whether you're worried about somebody you know or love or care about being, you know, sent to some random fucking country because they have the wrong skin color or whatever it is they've decided.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_01]: kind of going away or getting a lot worse, you know, I mean, you're getting groceries, but you can't afford them.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_01]: So I do think that this might have a laugh that this will not be the deciding election in changing the country, but I think it's the start.
- 54:03[SPEAKER_01]: I hope it's the start of the Pendulum swinging in the other direction, because we've seen that happen in the past.
- 54:11[SPEAKER_01]: we've seen sweeping changes that have benefited and have last for generations.
- 54:16[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's the best we can hope for.
- 54:18[SPEAKER_01]: But I do think that's where we're going.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_01]: So I want to end this show on the kind of like a positive, I think everything we've been talking about has been pretty positive.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_01]: But it's like in the bigger picture, I do think that I'm gonna say hope.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_01]: I hope we're on this trajectory that we are finally finished with this bullshit of we can't afford everything.
- 54:42[SPEAKER_01]: When we can afford a war is all the time.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_01]: But we can't afford you know, school or education.
- 54:50[SPEAKER_01]: We can't afford this and we can't afford.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, we can.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_01]: We can't afford a fucking all of it.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I think people are finally starting to wake up to an on top of it.
- 54:58[SPEAKER_01]: We've got all these young people who are looking at a future that looks fucking bleak, especially now that California is literally falling into the ocean.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you saw that report, but like the Pacific Coast Highway, and I can't remember exactly where it is.
- 55:12[SPEAKER_01]: But there is a part of Pacific Coast Highway that is, there's this big split in it.
- 55:16[SPEAKER_01]: Have you seen that?
- 55:20[SPEAKER_01]: Now I have it on my, I'm going to get the article here.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_01]: I have it on my blue sky and Orange County.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it says Laguna.
- 55:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the large crack in the cliff side be beneath Pacific Coast Highway in Laguna.
- 55:34[SPEAKER_01]: And so you can see this huge crack in it's there's the there's PCH.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, all these young people are looking around and saying,
- 55:44[SPEAKER_01]: the crazy weather and the crazy climate and all these things we're losing so I think the young people are waking up to the idea that okay you know we got to participate and we're going to see a lot of youth participating moving forward because they are absolutely affected and they're not comfortable so this is where I'm going to shut up and let you say whatever you need to say
- 56:06[SPEAKER_00]: I really do hope that, I mean, I'm always hopeful that young people will get out and vote.
- 56:12[SPEAKER_00]: What has been interesting is that they have been willing to support Donald Trump.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_00]: At least I don't like white, male, young voters have been eagerly supporting Donald Trump.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_00]: It is very clear that they are just as furious as other demographics are at this point.
- 56:27[SPEAKER_00]: And it does sort of see, it has this rock bottom feel to it.
- 56:32[SPEAKER_00]: where, um, honestly, for the last couple of years, like, I've been vacillating between, should we just have a race to the bottom and then rebuild?
- 56:43[SPEAKER_00]: Or, you know, should we, should we continue to fight back, um, against corruption and bad policies that hurt people?
- 56:52[SPEAKER_00]: And,
- 56:53[SPEAKER_00]: all of the of an difficult, you know, as a as a humanist, you know, just somebody who appreciates and cares about other people to see so many folks suffer.
- 57:05[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, it's really hard.
- 57:07[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, you're just, it's upsetting to know what they're doing, that what ice is doing.
- 57:11[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, there's just so much awfulness.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_01]: And it does, you know, move, you know,
- 57:16[SPEAKER_01]: How can I say, when people are uncomfortable, that's when they're motivated.
- 57:21[SPEAKER_01]: So into action.
- 57:23[SPEAKER_01]: Otherwise, they'll just, well, you know, I mean, even during COVID, everybody was like, they were protesting, you know, everything that was happening, but we were all for the most part, not everyone, but I mean for the most part, we all got to stay home and like watch Netflix.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't, it wasn't,
- 57:43[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, how can I, I think, I don't know what, I'm not making the point that I want to make here.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_01]: But the idea here is that when you're super, super, super, super uncomfortable, that's when you're moved to act.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that there were certain people who just accepted the fact that, okay, well, you know, I don't care if I get sick.
- 58:01[SPEAKER_01]: I'm probably not going to, they were listening to all the bullshit.
- 58:04[SPEAKER_01]: And I, you know, whatever, I'm just going to give up on trying to make that COVID.
- 58:08[UNKNOWN]: Thank you.
- 58:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think, I mean, I would link it to the 9-11 elections.
- 58:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Republican Party did a really good job making people...
- 58:17[SPEAKER_01]: There you go.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 58:19[SPEAKER_00]: And so, it's the extreme of emotion.
- 58:22[SPEAKER_00]: If people are afraid, they're going to vote one away.
- 58:24[SPEAKER_00]: If people are angry, they're going to vote this way.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_00]: It is an extreme emotion election, and for, you know, most Americans, it's a change election.
- 58:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, and that's one thing, the Republicans understand that they focus on emotion, where Democrats often oftentimes try to focus on the facts, which obviously we should be focused on the facts, but what motivates people are emotions.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_01]: That's what makes you act.
- 58:53[SPEAKER_01]: And so I love for Democrats to get a little bit more emotional.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 58:59[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's because they're obviously smart.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_01]: And they obviously are on the side of science and facts and all of that.
- 59:04[SPEAKER_01]: But sometimes when you just when you show up to an emotional fight with a fact, the emotion often wins.
- 59:11[SPEAKER_01]: And even if it's not the truth.
- 59:13[SPEAKER_01]: So there you go.
- 59:15[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_01]: Well, thank you Sarah once again for all of your wisdom and humor and and
- 59:26[SPEAKER_00]: I do need to go out there and like set up some of the I haven't I just haven't done it this week.
- 59:30[SPEAKER_00]: We had so much rain early on.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't I have not I had not fed the crows and you don't see the crows.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_00]: I feel bad to go make them happy and you're amazing and I really love doing your show.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_00]: It brings me so much joy.
- 59:46[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I'm glad I'm glad that I bring you joy.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_00]: You bring me joy, too.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I see you're making the rounds on the MSW media podcast.
- 59:55[SPEAKER_01]: I know you were on Jody's podcast the other day.
- 59:58[SPEAKER_01]: The politics card.
- 59:59[SPEAKER_01]: It's a crazy week.
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_00]: We're just like, holy cats, you guys.
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know, and I almost told it was like, I didn't know Bob was going to have on Sunday.
- 1:00:06[SPEAKER_01]: And I left him alone, but I thought you better not invite Sarah.
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_01]: She's like mine.
- 1:00:11[SPEAKER_01]: Mine is way.
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_00]: So the week of births of birth.
- 1:00:16[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 1:00:16[SPEAKER_01]: Well, tell everyone we're to find you.
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 1:00:20[SPEAKER_00]: So I've been doing a bunch on Instagram lately.
- 1:00:22[SPEAKER_00]: A bunch of videos.
- 1:00:24[SPEAKER_00]: So Sarah Burris on Instagram.
- 1:00:27[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm always making jokes on on blue sky as well.
- 1:00:30[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Sarah Burris on everything.
- 1:00:33[SPEAKER_01]: Sarah Barerson, everything.
- 1:00:34[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Sarah, it's always a joy to talk to you.
- 1:00:36[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just, I genuinely appreciate your point of view.
- 1:00:40[SPEAKER_01]: And I love that you were a reporter, because you come at things with a perfect, you were a reporter who's a Democrat, but you have a very, I like your technical way of looking at things.
- 1:00:50[SPEAKER_01]: So thank you again.
- 1:00:51[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know if we're going to be able to talk before the election, but if we don't, we'll absolutely be talking right after.
- 1:00:57[SPEAKER_01]: Cool.
- 1:00:58[SPEAKER_01]: Awesome.
- 1:00:59[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you have a good one, and we'll talk to you.
- 1:01:01[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
