- 0:26Speaker 1: and for simple household makeovers as well. Joining us today
- 0:30Speaker 1: is a regular on our program. We're excited to welcome
- 0:32Speaker 1: back George Oliphant to our broadcast. He's a TV personality
- 0:36Speaker 1: and home improvement expert. He's going to share his top
- 0:38Speaker 1: tips for your home for the fall, as well as
- 0:41Speaker 1: talk about the success of his show, George to the Rescue,
- 0:43Speaker 1: as well. George, thank you again for stopping by. I
- 0:45Speaker 1: really appreciate it.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Always a pleasure to be with you, my friend.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Well, George, before we get into this segment, I definitely
- 0:50Speaker 1: want to say congratulations to you on your success. It's
- 0:53Speaker 1: been great being able to watch you, not only be
- 0:55Speaker 1: able to do something that you love, but also to
- 0:57Speaker 1: be able to help others along the way. What has
- 0:59Speaker 1: it been like for you to see the way that
- 1:00Speaker 1: people have been able to respond to the show and
- 1:03Speaker 1: the message from it?
- 1:03Speaker 2: Oh, I mean, it's humbling. It's an honor. I never
- 1:07Speaker 2: take it lightly. I know that every home is a
- 1:10Speaker 2: new project, a new journey. And, again, you wouldn't have
- 1:14Speaker 2: me coming in if things weren't, unfortunately, something had gone wrong.
- 1:18Speaker 2: So being able to come in and help families when
- 1:21Speaker 2: they're at a low and lift them up is so important.
- 1:25Speaker 2: And I know that I speak for my entire team.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Every contractor, designer, people who support us, what we do
- 1:31Speaker 2: with George Center Rescue is life-changing. And, yes, it's on TV,
- 1:35Speaker 2: but it is real people, and there's real things that
- 1:38Speaker 2: they're going through. And being able to take that home
- 1:40Speaker 2: improvement element off the plate and hopefully make their homes
- 1:43Speaker 2: meet their reality, it's truly an honor and a blessing
- 1:47Speaker 2: to be able to be the host of that show. Yeah.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Well, George, you've been able to do that even on
- 1:52Speaker 1: the program as you've been on with us over the years.
- 1:54Speaker 1: You know, October is recognized among other things as fire
- 1:57Speaker 1: prevention month. So I have to ask you, what can
- 1:59Speaker 1: you suggest for our audience to help with fire safety
- 2:02Speaker 1: this year?
- 2:03Speaker 2: Let's just start with the basic, you know, the elephant
- 2:05Speaker 2: in the room, smoke alarms, smoke alarms, smoke alarms, smoke
- 2:08Speaker 2: alarms save lives. But homeowners, and I'm guilty of this too,
- 2:11Speaker 2: often ignore maintenance. They disable them. They delay battery checks
- 2:16Speaker 2: and changes. But just in time for Fire Prevention Week
- 2:19Speaker 2: comes the new first alert smoke alarm that's designed to
- 2:22Speaker 2: help solve these everyday pain points. My favorite feature is
- 2:26Speaker 2: the new soft cue replacer reminder. Instead of waking up
- 2:29Speaker 2: in the middle of the night, that low battery chirp,
- 2:31Speaker 2: which we've all done, and we just find it and
- 2:33Speaker 2: we pull out the battery and we're like, okay, enough,
- 2:35Speaker 2: but we don't go back and do it. What they
- 2:37Speaker 2: do now is they have a new, the alarm will
- 2:39Speaker 2: give you a gentle tone three to five days before
- 2:42Speaker 2: the battery becomes critically low. So you kind of have
- 2:44Speaker 2: that lead way of like, okay, I've got to get
- 2:46Speaker 2: this done, but it's not the eh, eh, eh, you
- 2:48Speaker 2: know what I'm talking about. Right. It also has an
- 2:50Speaker 2: easy-to-read LED indicators that show alarm and battery status. So
- 2:56Speaker 2: there's no questioning what's going on with my smoke alarm.
- 2:58Speaker 2: It's a convenient testing button that's nearly three times larger,
- 3:02Speaker 2: an easy side-load battery drawer for easy changes, which just
- 3:05Speaker 2: makes changing that battery so much easier. And First Alert
- 3:08Speaker 2: is America's number one most trusted and reliable fire safety brand.
- 3:12Speaker 2: And these new alarms are available at Lowe's stores nationwide.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Love that. Great tip. I just changed the batteries in
- 3:19Speaker 1: my parents' smoke detectors, so I totally know the importance
- 3:23Speaker 1: of that.
- 3:24Speaker 2: You're a good son, and it is so important. I mean,
- 3:27Speaker 2: I can't emphasize enough how important it is to have
- 3:30Speaker 2: working smoke detectors. Exactly.
- 3:32Speaker 1: So let's talk about then another big thing, which is
- 3:34Speaker 1: the air. How about air filtration? What can you suggest
- 3:37Speaker 1: for our audience when it comes to that, George?
- 3:40Speaker 2: It's just as good, as important as that working smoke detectors.
- 3:44Speaker 2: It's important to have good air in your home. And
- 3:46Speaker 2: as temperatures cool, we spend more time indoors. Fall is
- 3:50Speaker 2: a great time to check and replace your HVAC air filters.
- 3:54Speaker 2: With seasonal allergens circulating, regular filter changes can help capture
- 3:58Speaker 2: airborne particles while supporting HVAC performance. For premium filtration, I
- 4:04Speaker 2: highly recommend the Filtrete MPR-1900 Allergen Bacteria Viruses and Air
- 4:09Speaker 2: Pollutants Air Filter. It is one of the brand's most
- 4:12Speaker 2: advanced options, and it's certified asthma and allergy friendly and
- 4:16Speaker 2: designed to capture more microscopic particles, including allergens and bacteria,
- 4:21Speaker 2: while being noticeably less restrictive than filters by other manufacturers
- 4:25Speaker 2: based on ratings from the California Energy Commission. And this
- 4:28Speaker 2: is the filter that I put in homes after I
- 4:30Speaker 2: finish a rescue to make sure that the air in
- 4:32Speaker 2: those homes is as clean as can be. Now, you
- 4:35Speaker 2: don't want to forget to replace your air filter regularly.
- 4:39Speaker 2: For most one-inch filters, they should be changed every three months.
- 4:42Speaker 2: My rule of thumb is change them with the season. Spring, summer, winter, fall,
- 4:46Speaker 2: change out your air filter. If you have a thicker one,
- 4:49Speaker 2: a four-inch or thicker filter, those should be changed at
- 4:51Speaker 2: least every 12 months. But consider changing your air filter
- 4:55Speaker 2: more often if you have pets, if you have concern
- 4:57Speaker 2: of allergens or somebody in your house does, if you
- 5:00Speaker 2: have frequent HVAC usage, or if you're doing an ongoing
- 5:03Speaker 2: home renovation, hence with George's Rescue. That's why I always
- 5:06Speaker 2: change out a filter when we're done. and if you
- 5:09Speaker 2: live in a dusty environment.
- 5:11Speaker 1: That's a really great tip. I think that's one of
- 5:13Speaker 1: the things we don't think enough about, but definitely when
- 5:16Speaker 1: it comes, as you're mentioning, to the air quality, it
- 5:18Speaker 1: definitely helps. You mentioned earlier about, of course, the weather cooling,
- 5:22Speaker 1: and so that's always going to be a big thing.
- 5:23Speaker 1: People are thinking about, yes, we're enjoying the cooler air,
- 5:27Speaker 1: but what do you recommend for heating our homes during this.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Time, George? Well, easier upgrades begin with a system that's
- 5:32Speaker 2: designed to simplify installation. And my idea is Evox G-Cube
- 5:37Speaker 2: air handling unit features a compact modular configuration that makes
- 5:41Speaker 2: replacing aging heating and cooling equipment so much easier. Year-round
- 5:45Speaker 2: comfort means staying comfortable through the summer heat and the
- 5:48Speaker 2: cold winter weather. So the Evox G-Cube uses advanced inverter
- 5:52Speaker 2: technology to deliver efficient cooling and dependable heating year-round. Comfort
- 5:57Speaker 2: should be felt, not heard. Evox G-Cubed is engineered for
- 6:01Speaker 2: quiet operation, helping homeowners feel comfortable without the noise from
- 6:05Speaker 2: their heating and cooling system.
- 6:06Speaker 1: George, you always come through with some great tips. Again,
- 6:09Speaker 1: congratulations on the success of George for the Rescue. Thank
- 6:12Speaker 1: you so much for these tips for our audience. Where
- 6:14Speaker 1: can they go for more information, George?
- 6:16Speaker 2: You can always visit the brand sites that I was
- 6:19Speaker 2: talking about, or you can always go to my social.
- 6:21Speaker 2: I'm going to be posting everything today or tomorrow that
- 6:24Speaker 2: we talked about. But firstalert.com, philtreat.com, and mydeacomfort.us.
- 6:29Speaker 1: And we'll make sure the link comes up as well. George,
- 6:31Speaker 1: thank you again for stopping by. I really appreciate it.
- 6:33Speaker 1: I'm looking forward to our next chat together.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Me too, buddy. Me too. Can't wait.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I appreciate you. And we thank your audience for tuning
- 6:39Speaker 1: in to another great segment of Conversations Live. Until next time,
- 6:42Speaker 1: I'm your host, Cyrus Webbing. As always, enjoy your day,
- 6:44Speaker 1: enjoy your life, enjoy your world. Thank you for being

- 6:49Speaker 1: today amazing.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Take care.
