- 0:19SPEAKER_00: And now, here's Stephen Jeff.
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: Well, thanks, Johnny and Jeff.
- 0:25SPEAKER_00: Great to be back.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah, how's it going, Steve?
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: Another exciting week.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: You know, I spent a lot of time watching TV because you know, I find as I get older, it's easier to not move at all.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: Or just at very as little as possible.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: And so I kind of was sitting watching TV.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: And, you know, wouldn't you know watching TV, I really have started to like watching golf.
- 0:44SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: The reason I I've started to like golf is I figure if I'm sitting there doing nothing, I want to watch four or five hours of a bunch of people doing as little as possible.
- 0:56SPEAKER_02: Well, and those people are actually doing more than golfers like us who go out and golf and drink the whole time.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: You know, and sit on sit on their fat asses.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: But I digress, you know, I was watching this golf tournament, and you know, of course, Tiger Woods is back.
- 1:11SPEAKER_02: You know, I saw that, and I have kind of lost track of him.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Police did too, but don't so don't feel bad.
- 1:17SPEAKER_02: I saw Norm McDonald once, and he was talking about how shocked he was that somebody like Tiger Wood would cheat on his wife, somebody who's young, good looking, rich, and a celebrity, and all women love him, and he would cheat on his wife.
- 1:31SPEAKER_02: How shocking.
- 1:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:33SPEAKER_02: Well, I know that's that's never happened.
- 1:35SPEAKER_02: Never.
- 1:35SPEAKER_02: That's never happened to him.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: No, not me either.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: I'll tell you.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: I you despite all those, let's face it, Jeff, the millions of fans, the millions of listeners.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: You know, no.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: Anyway, Jeff, I was watching Tiger was playing in the US Open.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: Just it was good to see him back, you know, just something.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: There's even I he's had some issues, but you know, just the stabilizing thing of seeing a familiar guy out there, a guy who's been around, a guy who's been really been through some things and is still around and is back.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: It was kind of good.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: He's really is one of the all-time greats and one of the top celebrities in the world.
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: I don't think golf would be what it is today if it wasn't for Tiger Woods, you know.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: And golf is getting even better because I saw an interview with Stevie Wonder.
- 2:18SPEAKER_02: Great celebrity.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: You may be asking yourself what that has to do with golf.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: And yes, major talent, Stevie Wonder.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: But I saw his interview, said that he had challenged Tiger Woods to a golf contest and he actually beat him.
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: You know, you might find that hard to believe.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: Is that even possible?
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: Here's how he explained it.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Because, of course, the host on this talk show, which by the way, I started watching talk shows because I really wanted to watch people that sat there and did nothing, and that was good for a while.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: But I found, you know, the more they talked about politics, the more active they got.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: And that's the way too active.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: No, I didn't want to be that active.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: So golf was a perfect, but but it, but I digress.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: But anyway, yeah.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: So I was watching this interview and he met Tiger at a celebrity party, and he mentioned that, hey, I'm an excellent golfer.
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: And of course, Tiger didn't believe it either.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: He said, Well, he's Stevie Wonder.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: This guy is a you know, I mean, really a musical legend.
- 3:08SPEAKER_00: I mean, why what are you gonna say?
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm not gonna insult the guy.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Come on, you know, guys of huge talent.
- 3:13SPEAKER_00: He said, Yeah, I can play golf.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm actually a really good golfer.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: So Tiger's wondering, how do you do that?
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: So Stevie Wonder says, when I tee off, I have a guy call me from the green, you know, yell out, not call on the phone, but yell out from the green.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: He says, I have a really sharp sense of hearing.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: And when he calls out, that helps me aim.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: I take aim, I I can hit the green.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: So Tiger is really impressed.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: I says, All right, you know, and so Stevie says, All right, let's play a round of golf, you know.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: And Tiger says, Okay.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: So Stevie says, How about if we play for$10,000 a hole?
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: Both of those guys probably could afford that.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: But Tiger says, Oh, you know, listen, I can't play you for money for a whole, you know,$10,000, especially$10,000 a hole.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: I can't play you for money.
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: You have a sight handicap, you know.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: I I just said, no.
- 4:01SPEAKER_00: Stevie says, no, no, I'm I'm good, I'll do it.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: Let's do it.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: You pick the place and I'll pick the time.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: So Tiger Woods says, All right, you gonna be that way?
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: All right, Pebble Beach.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: Hey, you want to play a pebble beach, sightless?
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: All right, let's try that.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: I'll put that one on.
- 4:17SPEAKER_00: So he says, All right, what time should we go, Stevie?
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: And Stevie says, midnight.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: You know, funny guy.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: Yo, musical genius and funny guy.
- 4:26SPEAKER_02: And two, and two kings of their industry.
- 4:28SPEAKER_02: You know, you had oh, absolutely, uh, yeah, Tiger who reinvented golf.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: Gosh, did golf ever need reinventing?
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: You remember golf when we were kids?
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: It was all these old guys that just drank all the time and went out and played and just hacked up the course.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: Wait, wait, that's kind of what you were talking about.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: The uh well, anyway, forget that.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: Forget that.
- 4:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, what is cool though is you're you are talking about two celebrities, and I always wonder, Steve, like what's the difference between us and them?
- 4:56SPEAKER_02: Like, you know, how they live, you know, where what their houses are like, like what they eat, what what their their hobbies are.
- 5:03SPEAKER_02: Sounds like golf is their hobby, but yeah, just to get an insight would be amazing.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: When you used to say that because when I was getting my car repaired, and you know, I did have to get up out of the chair to go take my car in.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: But luckily at the car place, they had bunches of chairs and they had three or four TVs.
- 5:20SPEAKER_00: I mean, it was really it was very convenient.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: And so I was watching this TV show.
- 5:24SPEAKER_00: It was a talk show, no golf was on, unfortunately.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: It was early in the morning.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, what are you gonna do?
- 5:29SPEAKER_00: So no golf.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: So I was watching this talk show Celebrity Lifestyle of the Rich and Famous and their garbage.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: It was hosted by this guy, um, Slayne Brothers.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: No, no, wait, wait, Blaine Struthers, I think was his name.
- 5:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, uh huh.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: It was fascinating.
- 5:44SPEAKER_02: I think that's amazing, and you know, you could make an argument that everything flows through garbage, right?
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: Whatever that person's consuming, and garbage flows through everything.
- 5:54SPEAKER_02: It does, it does, it does.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: It's a yin and a yang at the same time, which is so cool.
- 5:59SPEAKER_02: Totally, yes.
- 6:00SPEAKER_02: It so I I would be very interested in what is in a celebrity's garbage versus like my garbage.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: Well, and and you know, the interesting thing, this show is on channel 108, it's actually the same channel that has council bluffs tonight.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: Well, yeah, they did that commercial a while back, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: All night, every night, you know.
- 6:21SPEAKER_02: So that's cool.
- 6:22SPEAKER_02: So I'm fascinated.
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: This repair took forever, you know.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: They kept saying, Hey, we're close, we're close.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: It was like two hours later, we're close.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: It's like, how do you know come on?
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: How far away is this thing?
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: I mean, what are you clay?
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: You're close to like the moon.
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: I mean, how where are we going on this?
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: Right, right.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: So hey, but so I watched a bunch of it.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: It was on right after Affairs of the Rich and Famous, and then this show was on, and then right after it was another show, Armpit Hairs of the Rich and Famous.
- 6:49SPEAKER_02: I watched that one, Steve.
- 6:50SPEAKER_02: That was Steve, that's one of my favorite shows.
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: I'll tell you, that one I thought it was gonna be grossed out, but no, no, no.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: I was fascinated.
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: That one, we got to get that guy on too.
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: That was that was a really interesting show.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: We really do.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: I was watching this, the one about the garbage, and I contacted the show and I asked Mr.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: Struthers if he'd come in and join us today.
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: So Blaine Struthers and not Slaying Brothers, I'm sorry.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: Blaine Struthers, welcome to the Steve and Jeff Show.
- 7:15SPEAKER_01: Well, hello, Steve and Jeff.
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: How are you?
- 7:17SPEAKER_00: Good to good to be here, Blaine.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: I uh I gotta tell you, that was a fascinating show.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: Now, how long have you had that show on the air?
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: Oh man, you know, we were up real early in the channel 108 days.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: Uh, it's been 17 years, 17.
- 7:31SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, we've had 17 seasons, and not British seasons, you know, nonetheless eight eight shows as a season bullshit.
- 7:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: We're all the way in, you know.
- 7:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you could have a British show could have like four or five seasons per year, right?
- 7:45SPEAKER_00: I know it's just come on.
- 7:47SPEAKER_02: Well, and the obvious question that comes to mind is is this new garbage on every episode?
- 7:52SPEAKER_02: Because garbage that's been around for 17 years, I gotta think, is pretty stinky.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: Well, it would tell you a lot, though.
- 7:59SPEAKER_02: It would, it's like barking a tree.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's what I do.
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: Um, every year I just count the rings on my truck, and it's like a little time capsule of trash.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: Why garbage?
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: When did you realize that garbage was where it was at for entertainment?
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: And the way I understand it, you actually sell this garbage.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: Oh, absolutely.
- 8:18SPEAKER_01: This started off uh as more of a side hustle, to be honest with you.
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: And people always assume that I grew up poor and that I had to sift through garbage, you know, to make a living, but that's actually not true.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: I grew up very wealthy because let's face it, wealthy people throw out higher quality garbage that is much more sellable.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 8:39SPEAKER_01: The poorer the neighborhood, the less garbage.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: Rich people throw out all kinds of stuff.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: Oh, you go to a poor neighborhood and you tell me how many slightly gently used Gucci purses you're gonna find.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: Big zero is big fat zero.
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: You go to the right neighborhood, ooh, they're all over the place.
- 8:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you take a power washer to anything and you can get it uh sellable.
- 9:00SPEAKER_02: So I think what you're saying, and this is maybe my misconception here, you're not going through and collecting garbage that you're going to reuse.
- 9:07SPEAKER_02: You're not reusing them, you're selling them, and they're famous.
- 9:12SPEAKER_01: It's a little bit of both.
- 9:13SPEAKER_01: I mean, you know, if I think I can get some good cash for it, it goes straight to eBay.
- 9:18SPEAKER_01: I have to wait until I actually get a pair of shoes to sell them, but until I get an actual pair, I just wear, you know, the onesies.
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: Maybe they don't match, but so what?
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: You're walking through garbage, doesn't matter.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: You gotta wear you gotta have your work shoes on, you know.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: They are my work shoes.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: Is there one particular type of garbage that you really focus on or really like to find?
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: Or yeah, I mean, you probably are kind of a garbage generalist as far as the approach, but is there a type that you really boy?
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: I hope they got blank in there, whatever it is.
- 9:50SPEAKER_01: You know, there's a there's a lot of different takes on it.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: Uh, of course, you're looking for anything that you can sell, but um, truth be known, I really like the food rappers because that's how you really know your neighbors when you when you say rappers, you're not talking about like musicians, like musicians, like no Stevie Well who's not a rapper because their garbage probably would be pretty cool.
- 10:13SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: Oh, you know, I did go by Snoop Doggs one time and I I sifted through his garbage.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: I bet you got a contact high, I bet, didn't you?
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: Uh-huh.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: Oh dude, I couldn't I couldn't drive the rest of that day.
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: I was like on the curb just sitting there.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: Oh, really?
- 10:30SPEAKER_01: It was great.
- 10:31SPEAKER_01: As soon as I find out where Willie Nelson is, I'll follow that to her bus.
- 10:35SPEAKER_01: Let me tell you.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, oh, absolutely.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:37SPEAKER_02: It kind of reminded me of the follow-up question, which was who was the first celebrity that you went through their garbage and found something that was valuable that you ended up reselling.
- 10:47SPEAKER_01: Well, this predates the show by a few years, but I actually did go through uh I get I went through OJ Simpson's garbage.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: I did.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: Oh you found Cudler.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: Lots of gloves, some gloves, lots of lots of gloves.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you know, a lot of stuff.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: A little bit.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: Maybe a few people.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: One used machete.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: Um Kato Kalen at the bottom.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: Sleeping.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: Sleeping.
- 11:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:13SPEAKER_01: I just had to kind of sift around him.
- 11:16SPEAKER_01: He wasn't coming to.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: So that was that was the first.
- 11:20SPEAKER_01: And people were telling me, it's like, you wouldn't believe the garbage that they sell on eBay these days.
- 11:26SPEAKER_01: Now, I didn't know that they were using that as kind of a pejorative.
- 11:29SPEAKER_01: I thought they meant literally.
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: You thought they were just like garbage.
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I thought that was garbage.
- 11:33SPEAKER_01: And right.
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: Lo and behold, I put that out there, and you start selling a half a dozen Snickers wrappers from Mel Gibson's house.
- 11:42SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 11:43SPEAKER_01: And people are bidding on that.
- 11:45SPEAKER_00: You know, though you raise a great point there, Blaine.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: It's like when people use words that mean something other than what they sound like they mean, that is so confusing for people.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: I'm going through a tough stretch.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: What does that mean?
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: You're you can't reach the ceiling.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: I mean, I I don't know.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: What do you I don't know?
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: I don't know what that means.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: So people should use words that mean what the words say, right?
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: I think so.
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: I I couldn't agree more.
- 12:10SPEAKER_01: I mean, you know, that whole tough stretch, I'm wondering, gosh, are you in the last furlong of a horse race?
- 12:14SPEAKER_01: What's going on with you?
- 12:15SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 12:16SPEAKER_02: And we've co-opted the term garbage, right?
- 12:18SPEAKER_02: To mean almost anything.
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: It's like swear words, like the F-word, right?
- 12:22SPEAKER_02: F-word can mean anything.
- 12:23SPEAKER_02: Garbage could almost mean anything.
- 12:25SPEAKER_02: Back in the old days, we knew what garbage was and who garbage was.
- 12:29SPEAKER_00: I think it all started talking about the old days.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: I think it all started with that phrase garbage in, garbage out.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: I mean, because they weren't literally putting garbage into the computers.
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: Ironically, that was the first name of my company.
- 12:41SPEAKER_01: Was garbage in, garbage out.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: That is a great name.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 12:45SPEAKER_01: And then people thought it had to people thought I was coding software, and it was like, no, that's where I landed on trash styles.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: Trash styles of the rich and famous, yeah.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: Who's the most famous?
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: I mean, of course, you got OJ Simpson there, but who is the most famous celebrity garbage that you've ever acquired?
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: And if we can ask, what was it?
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: That's the fun part.
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: The name is fun, but then what they threw away is actually even more fun.
- 13:10SPEAKER_02: And what you sold it for because Steve, I think we need a little extra revenue for this program.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: And well, when you say extra, there's money.
- 13:19SPEAKER_00: Wait, extra means there's already some, right?
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, but I digress.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: We'll we'll we'll talk offline.
- 13:25SPEAKER_00: But anyway, so who's who is the most famous and what was it and what'd you sell it for?
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: There was one time, and I gotta admit, back in the 90s, I was being pretty stealthy.
- 13:36SPEAKER_01: And you know, in the 90s, he you had a different level of security about, and I was able to get onto the grounds of the White House.
- 13:44SPEAKER_01: And uh I got into um President Clinton.
- 13:50SPEAKER_02: He had some interesting stuff in his garbage.
- 13:53SPEAKER_00: A used cigar, you know, who knows?
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: It was the humor.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: I got a humidor out of there.
- 13:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, right.
- 13:58SPEAKER_01: I still have a humidor full of condoms.
- 14:01SPEAKER_01: And actually, wow.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: Was it autographed or did it have like a presidential seal on it or something?
- 14:08SPEAKER_01: It had a uh little hole in it that was made from one of Hillary's shoes.
- 14:13SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: Uh the story.
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 14:20SPEAKER_02: Any religious items in Bill's?
- 14:23SPEAKER_02: I'm just thinking like maybe like a yarmulke or you know, something like Jewish related.
- 14:28SPEAKER_02: I don't know why I'm thinking that.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: He's not our first Jewish president.
- 14:31SPEAKER_00: That was wait, who was that?
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: That was um President Greenberg.
- 14:35SPEAKER_02: It was President Greenberg's.
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: It was right after Mickey Cohen who had converted.
- 14:39SPEAKER_00: But he but I digress.
- 14:40SPEAKER_02: I used to have a guy that I worked with who was married to a woman who was Irish and he was Jewish, and he was saying that she was Jewish by intercourse.
- 14:49SPEAKER_02: You could maybe make that argument with Bill Clinton with Perhaps, perhaps or by oral.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: In fact, I I used to know a guy who said that his wife was Italian by injection.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: Kind of the same thing, you know.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: But anyway, we have really digressed here, Jeff.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's beyond the catchphrase.
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: We are way out there.
- 15:06SPEAKER_02: I did notice that you have a box with you.
- 15:09SPEAKER_02: Um I was wondering what would I would assume it's garbage.
- 15:13SPEAKER_02: I was wondering though, the first part of our show took a little long.
- 15:17SPEAKER_02: That whether you went through like our garbage, like in the studio, and maybe some of our former guests, you might have found something from Steve, your mom may have oh, yeah, you know, thrown something in there, maybe an old vodka bottle or something like that.
- 15:30SPEAKER_02: But yeah, is is that what you brought?
- 15:32SPEAKER_02: Is some some garbage or from the studio and from the houses?
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: Um the houses, yes.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: I I got to the Steve and Jeff Houses.
- 15:41SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 15:42SPEAKER_01: And one of the ways that I'm able to pull this off is that I really do look like a raccoon.
- 15:49SPEAKER_01: So, you know, nobody nobody suspects anything.
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: They just, you know, I put on my raccoon costume and sift through the garbage, and everybody just thinks, oh, it's nature's taking this course, but no, it's me.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: Well, too bad you weren't here last week because we could have introduced you to a cat and you could have gotten into the furries or us group.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: Maybe you could go to the next meeting with us.
- 16:09SPEAKER_00: We're going, I think it's the 11th or something.
- 16:10SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: We're going to some meeting of this guy wear the raccoon outfit.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: They'd love it.
- 16:15SPEAKER_01: I'm busy on the 11th, but I'll cancel those plans.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, absolutely.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: Anyway, anyway, I interrupted you.
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: Go ahead.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: Let's see.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: Uh, I didn't label everything, but here I've got uh several prosthetic noses.
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: At least I think they're prosthetic.
- 16:30SPEAKER_01: Those doesn't ring a bell.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: Most people only throw out a bottle of rogaine at a time, but this uh like there's a cost co size box of empty rogaine bottles.
- 16:42SPEAKER_01: I found that.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: Well, Jeff, Jeff, you were talking about you get the case discount, right?
- 16:46SPEAKER_02: I do, and you know, I'm mad at Kathy because sometimes those bottles are they're not completely empty, so you know, there's sometimes there's a little bit left, and I really need something like that.
- 16:57SPEAKER_02: As far as the nose, that's old news, you know.
- 16:59SPEAKER_02: I've I've got a new nose, Steve knows that.
- 17:02SPEAKER_02: You know, although just a little heads up, if you're selling it, Jennifer Aniston may have had that nose, you know, at least one of them could be Jennifer's, and I bet that would sell for a pretty penny.
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: Thanks for the tip.
- 17:14SPEAKER_01: I was thinking that one smelled a little more like friends, so yeah, it was kind of a friendly smelling nose.
- 17:21SPEAKER_01: And see, the last thing, all right.
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: You got some uh well, it looks like some shoes that I they're kind of small for my feet, but boy do they make me tall.
- 17:29SPEAKER_01: They're those kind of uh platform elevator shoes.
- 17:32SPEAKER_02: Oh have to come clean.
- 17:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that those are probably my they're they're just they just weren't tall enough, you know.
- 17:40SPEAKER_02: You you get on those rides, you know, you go to those fairs and they say you have to be 44 inches, and you know, so I got those shoes because I didn't want to be left behind while everybody else was, you know, going on the roller coaster, but I only got up to like 42 inches with those shoes, so I threw those out.
- 17:56SPEAKER_00: We've seen this proven with us.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: I am, as you know, a little bit taller than you, and you've lost almost all your hair, and I've lost only like a lot of my hair.
- 18:06SPEAKER_00: So, see, it it the hair loss is less higher up, so you do want to be higher up.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: It's something about the thin air.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: I I don't know.
- 18:15SPEAKER_00: I don't know why it works, but it it somehow does.
- 18:17SPEAKER_02: Is that not the most unfair thing in the world to not only be short but to not have enough hair that it adds a couple inches?
- 18:24SPEAKER_02: You know how you see like basketball players, they have their hair is like really tall and it makes them a lot taller.
- 18:30SPEAKER_02: I you know the only place I have hair is on my back.
- 18:33SPEAKER_02: I have to lean forward to you know have that stick up, and that doesn't really help your height, you know.
- 18:39SPEAKER_02: It doesn't do much for it.
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: What else did you find?
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: And this this is all from Jeff's house, right?
- 18:44SPEAKER_01: Well, I I didn't just go to Jeff's house.
- 18:47SPEAKER_01: I mean, here I've got several vodka bottles, not the good stuff either.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: I might I must say this isn't like smearnoff.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: No, you're doing pop off there, right?
- 18:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, pop off and drop off.
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: Trust me, you drink enough pop-off, you will drop off.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: Whether you want to or not, you will drop off.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: And a very slinky, very, might I say Ava Gardner type sexy uh lingerie.
- 19:17SPEAKER_00: Oh, well, Steve, listen, I can explain.
- 19:20SPEAKER_00: That's clearly not mine.
- 19:22SPEAKER_00: Clearly not mine.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: I had it there because sometimes my mom would like to come over and she, if she'd stay overnight, she'd have a few drinks, she'd stay overnight, and she'd have something to wear, you know?
- 19:33SPEAKER_00: So I I just kept it there, you know.
- 19:34SPEAKER_00: It's not clearly not something I wear.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I believe that.
- 19:39SPEAKER_01: No, that would be the chaps without a backside in them, is uh what I'm guessing.
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: Oh my own name here.
- 19:45SPEAKER_00: And and we can play golf at midnight, but but I digress.
- 19:49SPEAKER_02: Now I'm I'm wondering, would it be more valuable?
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: Would something like that nightgown be more valuable if it was something Steve wore as opposed to his mom?
- 19:59SPEAKER_01: Steve is a celebrity, right?
- 20:02SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, solid, solid B list, solid B list celebrity like that.
- 20:07SPEAKER_01: Um, if we had a signed affidavit and if we could do that uh, what do they call the provenance?
- 20:13SPEAKER_01: Provence, provenance, I can't remember whatever they do there on that uh garbage show on PBS where people bring in their garbage and they appraise it.
- 20:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, antiques garbage show, whatever they're okay.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, if we had a picture and a sign of Steve in that nightgown with a signed affidavit from Steve, I'm thinking mid-six figures.
- 20:36SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 20:37SPEAKER_01: Not including the sense.
- 20:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: Well you have quite a figure, you know, Blaine, for that much money, I'd be willing to pretend if you will.
- 20:51SPEAKER_00: I could pretend that that's not mine and pretend to put it on and pretend to take a picture.
- 20:57SPEAKER_00: I'd hate to go through all that, and then we get to the bidding, and they say, Hey, best I can do is a free nightgown.
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: You know, I I'd I'd just rather have, you know, I mean, I'd like to know the money's gonna be there.
- 21:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you you're pretty confident it'd be there.
- 21:11SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm not Sotherby's or anything like that, but it's not the first time I've been through you guys' garbage.
- 21:17SPEAKER_01: Ah, and um oh just studied it.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: It's very big sellers, it's very big sellers.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 21:25SPEAKER_00: So you sold our stuff before.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: Anecdotal purposes, yes.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: Legal purposes, nah, not yet.
- 21:33SPEAKER_00: I know I haven't seen any revenue from that.
- 21:36SPEAKER_00: I'm thinking you probably haven't either, Jeff.
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: Is that correct?
- 21:41SPEAKER_02: I have not, and I I don't want to get into the details of like you owing us money for capitalizing on our celebrity, but maybe there's a way we can kind of make this work for everybody, Steve.
- 21:51SPEAKER_02: I think we're doing sort of a a redo of our website.
- 21:55SPEAKER_02: Maybe there should be like an eBay component to it, you know, where we sell some of Our clothes, some of the food, and stuff like that, and maybe we share the revenue.
- 22:04SPEAKER_02: Claire would also be a part of this too.
- 22:06SPEAKER_02: Our producer.
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: Do you have anything from Claire?
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: We've talked about merch, and we always thought, oh, we get t-shirts or cups or whatever.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: What about our what about garbage?
- 22:16SPEAKER_00: We don't even have any production costs.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: We already got it.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: This is the merch.
- 22:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and what about Claire?
- 22:20SPEAKER_02: So we don't want to leave her out.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: Oh, Miss Claire, please.
- 22:23SPEAKER_02: Miss Clor, Miss Claire.
- 22:25SPEAKER_02: Did you have a chance to go through any of her stuff?
- 22:26SPEAKER_02: Anything you found interesting?
- 22:28SPEAKER_01: Just a lot of contracts signed by top-notch celebrities.
- 22:34SPEAKER_01: We're signing contracts.
- 22:35SPEAKER_01: Uh, Miss Claire's got Kathy Griffin.
- 22:38SPEAKER_01: She's got her under contract.
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: Sadly, because I don't think they're going to be able to execute this contract.
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: We had OJ.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: He has exercised the escape clause, if you will.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: He has.
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: And she was getting ready to handle a lot of comedians.
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: Um, Gilbert Gottfried had a contract in there.
- 22:55SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: Bob Sagan had a contract in there.
- 22:57SPEAKER_01: Louis Anderson's contract.
- 22:59SPEAKER_02: These are people that aren't alive anymore.
- 23:01SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 23:02SPEAKER_00: Uh people who probably died shortly after the contractual period.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: Or maybe even during the contractual period.
- 23:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the other weird thing that I find in there is are a lot of insurance policies.
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: So I don't know.
- 23:17SPEAKER_01: She's always careful.
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: She is always careful.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: You know, Jeff, you don't eat any of the food that stays in the studio, do you?
- 23:24SPEAKER_02: Not since we did that would you rather remember that, Steve?
- 23:28SPEAKER_02: And the would you rather show a little dark, you know?
- 23:31SPEAKER_02: It got me a little scared.
- 23:32SPEAKER_00: I have not I haven't even brought my own food in here because I'm afraid there's like some error error cell lizer or something.
- 23:39SPEAKER_02: That's right.
- 23:39SPEAKER_02: So yeah, no, I I I try to be a little careful, but uh yeah, I'm sure Claire's listening to this episode, so I trust her completely.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: Oh, absolutely.
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, oh, just because she's got all these dead comedians' contracts and she's got insurance policies on them doesn't mean that there's any sort of plot.
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm not one of these, you always look for the conspiracy.
- 24:03SPEAKER_00: No, come on.
- 24:05SPEAKER_00: Sometimes things just happen, you know.
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, and sometimes the earth is just flat.
- 24:12SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's just the way things work.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: I could I couldn't have put it any better.
- 24:16SPEAKER_00: So are there other celebrities that you've been working on lately that would be interesting for the audience that our millions of listeners would really key in on and say, Oh, hey, I'd be interested in that.
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: Well, I have been uh following, of course, the the the presidential candidates.
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: Uh been able to get uh some RFK's garbage.
- 24:36SPEAKER_02: No, I bet there's a lot of garbage.
- 24:38SPEAKER_02: There's quite a bit of garbage.
- 24:39SPEAKER_02: There's quite a bit of garbage, quite a bit, yeah.
- 24:41SPEAKER_02: It's quite a bit of garbage, but it's biodegradable, I would think.
- 24:44SPEAKER_02: I would hope he's very much into the environment, I know.
- 24:48SPEAKER_02: So I know you know it's probably very healthy for you.
- 24:51SPEAKER_00: Well, and you gotta be careful handling it because I guarantee you it's not vaccinated.
- 24:54SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 24:55SPEAKER_02: No, did you have a chance to go through the the president's garbage?
- 24:58SPEAKER_02: Because I imagine there's probably a number of things in there, you know, like his prep work for the debate and stuff like that.
- 25:05SPEAKER_02: Maybe things that were thrown away.
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: I did get a hold of it.
- 25:07SPEAKER_01: It was after the debate, it was from um one of his preppers.
- 25:12SPEAKER_01: It was all the talking points, but they were had all been crossed off in red ink and and just kept I don't know what this code meant to them, but in the margin it just said WTF, WTF, working through funds.
- 25:27SPEAKER_01: I don't know, work through fun, work through fun, work through fun.
- 25:31SPEAKER_02: And I'm guessing work the frustration, and I'm guessing that Trump had the best garbage ever.
- 25:36SPEAKER_02: Oh, of all no one's ever had garbage like nobody's had garbage, and nobody's gone through his garbage like you have.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah, oh absolutely.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: It's the most beautiful garbage, it's the most beautiful, perfect garbage.
- 25:47SPEAKER_01: Everybody's talking about it.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: A lot of people want to get into that garbage.
- 25:51SPEAKER_01: They do.
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's the that's the thing.
- 25:53SPEAKER_01: That's why honestly, it kind of left Trump's garbage alone ever since he got that apprentice show because it's just a line.
- 26:01SPEAKER_01: If you want to get to Trump's garbage, you gotta elbow out Amarosa.
- 26:06SPEAKER_01: You gotta get a good hip check in on Ron DeSantis.
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: You probably have to move dozens of boxes with nuclear codes in them and stuff.
- 26:14SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's just so much work, you know.
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: I mean, how are you gonna find it all?
- 26:17SPEAKER_01: Well, and you can't sell that stuff.
- 26:19SPEAKER_01: There's only one buyer.
- 26:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's like Vlad, I'm not gonna get you that box nuclear codes.
- 26:25SPEAKER_02: One last thing, just hypothetically, if Steve and I were able to acquire some garbage, like say the next person we interview, they take a break and we give them some something to eat, maybe some that maybe has a little laxity, maybe Claire could put something in there or whatever.
- 26:40SPEAKER_02: Oh, I know she could.
- 26:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah, she would.
- 26:43SPEAKER_02: So, what would you pay us for something like that?
- 26:45SPEAKER_02: What does that look like in terms of like dollars?
- 26:48SPEAKER_01: You're trying to pre-plan garbage.
- 26:50SPEAKER_02: Is there something like that that lowers the value, doesn't it?
- 26:53SPEAKER_02: Does it?
- 26:53SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, just kind of this garbage game.
- 26:56SPEAKER_01: You'll ruin the patina.
- 26:58SPEAKER_01: And if you ruin the patina on it, you know, then people are like, oh, this isn't really garbage, is it?
- 27:03SPEAKER_00: It's gotta have a nice patina.
- 27:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, edit this out, Steve.
- 27:07SPEAKER_02: Edit this out that we don't want to.
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, oh yeah.
- 27:09SPEAKER_00: No, I'll oh, I'll cut all this out.
- 27:10SPEAKER_00: And and you know, speaking of cut out, it looks like unfortunately we are gonna get thrown out of eccentric Lady Nan studios in a minute.
- 27:16SPEAKER_00: But listen, Blaine, I just want to thank you for coming in.
- 27:19SPEAKER_00: And you know, I know you spend all your time with garbage, but we have some really nice stuff for you.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: Johnny, what do we have for Blaine?
- 27:26SPEAKER_00: Right, Steve?
- 27:27SPEAKER_00: Blaine won't complain when he takes delivery on a 10-year supply of used food wrappers in vibrant colors and formerly wrapping everything from cookies to placenta.
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: Wrappers in many languages and touching on as many ethnic styles as we could copy.
- 27:43SPEAKER_00: Yours from our friends at Appropriation Station.
- 27:46SPEAKER_00: They now, legally, have it all.
- 27:50SPEAKER_00: And from the occasionally good people at Tomco, the classic Kato Kalen action figure restored to its 1994 condition.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: Watch this footnote to a tragedy jump from sleeping to sitting to sitting to one side, all with patented hand-and-glove technology.
- 28:07SPEAKER_00: Try the variety of mood settings as you push Kato from buzz to bait with one jab.
- 28:12SPEAKER_00: Tomco, toys for the truly board.
- 28:16SPEAKER_00: And least but not last, we have for Slayne, Blaine, the home version of the Steve and Jeff Show, which someone threw out.
- 28:25SPEAKER_00: Most of the pieces are intact, which makes this a modern antique classic.
- 28:30SPEAKER_00: This has been a compost production in association with Landfill Media.
- 28:34SPEAKER_00: Be sure and follow or subscribe to the Steve and Jeff Show wherever you listen to podcasts.
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: Just a review while you're there, too.
- 28:42SPEAKER_00: This is Johnny Speaking.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: I drive the trash from Steve's mom's house to a dumpster behind a taco bell so people like Blaine can't see what we're up to.
- 28:52SPEAKER_00: Wouldn't they like to know?
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: Oh, I better catch Blaine before he leaves.
- 28:57SPEAKER_00: I gotta get that negative tape back.
- 29:00SPEAKER_00: Good night.
