- 0:38Music.
- 0:48She's a happy girl.
- 1:02Are you tired and weary? The Bible not only tells us not to be weary in well-doing,
- 1:08but shows us that our strength comes from God, whose strength never fails.
- 1:14Philippians 4.13 tells us that we can do all things through Christ, which strengthens us.
- 1:20And Romans 5.6 reveals to us that when we were at our weakest,
- 1:24God was at his strongest.
- 1:27Nothing in our lives will ever render us as helpless as the burden of sin.
- 1:32Romans 5.6 tells us that for when we were yet without strength,
- 1:36in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
- 1:39So join us in this broadcast of Woman at the Well Ministries as Kim walks us
- 1:43through the Holy Scriptures, revealing God's promise to be our strength.
- 1:47Hello, and thank you for joining us in this broadcast of Woman at the Well Ministries.
- 1:52And as always, it is a pleasure to spend the next few moments with you,
- 1:56just looking at the treasures that God has for us in his holy word.
- 2:01It is the only book that you can read, and each time you read it,
- 2:05it comes alive in new and different ways.
- 2:07It is the only book that is always right for whatever need you have in your
- 2:14life. and I'm just so excited that you've chosen to spend the next few moments with us.
- 2:20We're talking about Christ, our eternal strength.
- 2:23And I know that each of you that I'm speaking to right now have found yourselves
- 2:27in places where you just felt like you couldn't go on and you felt like you
- 2:32just couldn't take another step.
- 2:34And you were pretty sure that the task that lay before you, the path that was
- 2:40laying in front of you was one you just could not go any further on.
- 2:46But my friends, I have good news for you, because the Bible has given us promises.
- 2:52That not only should encourage us and inspire us to continue on,
- 2:57but shows us exactly how we can grasp what he has for us so that we have what we need for the journey.
- 3:08Remember that in Jeremiah 29, 11, that the Lord says he has an expected end
- 3:12for us and he knows the plans that he has for us.
- 3:15You see, my friend, he has set us on a journey, created, handpicked,
- 3:21and completely supplied for all of our needs.
- 3:25You see, I'd like to submit before you this little scenario.
- 3:29When as a family we get ready to go on vacation, my family may not be like yours,
- 3:34but if it's a long road trip, we spend an inordinate amount of time making sure
- 3:39we have enough snacks in the car.
- 3:41And we make sure that there's enough drinks to drink. And we make sure that
- 3:45they're strategically placed in the car so that we can reach them.
- 3:49And we make sure that we have paper towels. And should we have something that
- 3:53needs a knife to be peeled, we make sure we have a knife.
- 3:56And if we have three or four people in the car, which we generally do when we
- 3:59travel, we make sure we have something that each person likes.
- 4:03And then some of us are hot-natured and some of us are extremely cold-natured,
- 4:07so we make sure that we have a little blankie for those in the back who need
- 4:10a little cover to keep themselves warm.
- 4:13And then sometimes we'll make sure we have just the perfect pillow so that we
- 4:16can just settle in for a nice ride.
- 4:19And then some of us don't travel well, so we make sure there are little things
- 4:23to keep them occupied and to play with and to read and to do whatever they can
- 4:27in the car so that everything is fine.
- 4:29And then we make sure, if there's any room left, that we have all the provisions
- 4:33we're going to need for the weeks that we're going to go away on vacation.
- 4:37And we make sure that we've got our clothes, and we generally go to a hot climate
- 4:41or to the beach, so we make sure that we have suntan lotion,
- 4:45and we check a list, and we make that list, and we check it and we go over and over.
- 4:49And before we embark on that trip.
- 4:53We have done everything we could to see to it that we have all that we need.
- 5:01Friends, we're just mere mortal people setting out on a vacation.
- 5:06How much more complete, efficient, abundantly adequate do you think God has
- 5:18planned for the journey he created for you?
- 5:21How much more do you think
- 5:24his provisions are completely all
- 5:28you need for that journey that he
- 5:31has carved out for your life i can only supply a few bottles of water he is
- 5:39the living water i can only have what i place in the car as i journey down unless
- 5:46i stop and go out and get something and bring it in.
- 5:48He is the great I am, so he has everything I need.
- 5:52I can only get where I'm going if I have some sort of directions to get me there.
- 5:58He is the way.
- 6:01Friends, we know how much time we spend making our journey,
- 6:08little adventure, our trip, as fun
- 6:11and as filled with what
- 6:14we expect as possible how much
- 6:17more and how much better added
- 6:20is he than we are how much
- 6:24more time and how many more blessings and provisions does he have awaiting us
- 6:31so my friend the next time that you embark upon one of life's journeys whether
- 6:38it be the path of sickness the path of health,
- 6:42the path of wealth or the path of poverty, whether it be a path that is going
- 6:49through the valley or one climbing up the mountain or one standing on the mountain.
- 6:53Take one moment of your time and reflect back at how much time you prepare for
- 7:01one little week's vacation and then realize how much planning God has gone into
- 7:08the journey of your life.
- 7:11And then you truly can do what he says. The supplication and thanksgiving,
- 7:15let your requests be made known unto God and the peace of God that passes all
- 7:19understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
- 7:23You see, what I'm telling you is, is that when we allow Christ to be our strength,
- 7:27faith, then our journey goes smoother.
- 7:31When we allow Christ to be the one in control, we get to the place we're supposed to get.
- 7:39And when you're at your wit's end and you're without any strength left in you
- 7:43and you feel like you can't go on, that's probably the very first time you've
- 7:49been in the place you're supposed to be.
- 7:51Because he says, when I am weak, then he is strong.
- 7:57I will ask you, please, to turn to Romans chapter 5, beginning at verse 1 and including verse 6.
- 8:04Therefore being justified by faith
- 8:07we have peace with god through our lord jesus
- 8:10christ by whom also we have access by
- 8:13faith into this grace wherein we stand and
- 8:17rejoice in hope of the glory of god and
- 8:20not only so but we glory in tribulations also knowing
- 8:24that tribulation worketh patience and patience experience and experience hope
- 8:31and hope maketh not a shame because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts
- 8:37by the Holy Ghost, which is given unto us.
- 8:41But when we were yet without strength, in due time, Christ died for the ungodly.
- 8:50Friends, Romans 3.23 says that we've all sinned and come short of the glory of God.
- 8:56My friends, we were the ungodly. So let's get that straight.
- 9:01Our works are as filthy rags, and nothing we do has any merit or any worth without Jesus Christ.
- 9:10And all the works that we do in the flesh will burn as hay and stubble.
- 9:14Only the things done for Christ will last.
- 9:19As we begin to look at this passage of scripture, I want you to see that we are justified by faith.
- 9:26I believe that one of the most precious words in all of God's Bible is the word justified.
- 9:33I was but a small child when I had a minister explain to me that justified means
- 9:39just as if I never sinned.
- 9:42You see, when I stand before Jesus Christ, without him cleansing my heart and
- 9:50saving my soul and wiping away my sins, I am unworthy to stand in front of him.
- 9:57I have no right, no access, nothing to be face to face with the God of the universe.
- 10:04But once I come to him through faith, you see, he says anything done without faith is sin.
- 10:12And he says, but without faith, it is impossible to please him.
- 10:15And you must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
- 10:20Well, when I have placed my faith in him, for by grace are you saved through
- 10:25faith and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not of works,
- 10:30lest any man should boast.
- 10:32When I take him at his word and realize that he said, for God so loved the world
- 10:36that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not
- 10:40perish, but have everlasting life.
- 10:42I can stand before him just as if I had never sinned, because when he sees me,
- 10:49he sees the blood, and it's the shedding of his innocent blood upon me and my
- 10:54heart when I come repentant to him at the throne of his mercy and grace that
- 10:59allows me to be cleansed from all unrighteousness.
- 11:03And through my face, he doesn't see a scarred, marred individual.
- 11:10Individual, he sees his creation in his image.
- 11:16And I believe he sees the reflection of his nail-scarred hands when he looks at me.
- 11:23I believe his image is imprinted upon my heart.
- 11:27And I believe when he sees me, all he sees is the potential of me when he's in me,
- 11:34not the worthlessness of flesh
- 11:37and bone as we begin to look we
- 11:40see that we have a peace with God how
- 11:44could you not feel a calming peace knowing what we just spoke of that because
- 11:51of Jesus Christ's sacrificial death on the cross of Calvary because he loved
- 11:59me before I could ever love him you,
- 12:02He chose to bear my sin debt. He paid my sin debt.
- 12:08The God of the universe, leaving the splendor of heaven, to walk and talk among
- 12:15men, to deal with the yuckiness of this life,
- 12:19to be tempted yet like as we are, yet without sin, to endure all of the temptations
- 12:26and all of the struggles that we as a collective people will endure.
- 12:32So that when we come boldly to the throne of God as we're invited to in Hebrews
- 12:364, we have confidence and know that not only is he capable of supplying our.
- 12:42Need, but he fully understands what we need.
- 12:46Because he's been there, done that, and got the scars to prove it.
- 12:50He wears them in his body.
- 12:54That's peaceful because I have the confidence of knowing that through Jesus
- 12:59Christ, I have access to the Father. And that brings me peace.
- 13:05And we have access by this faith into his grace.
- 13:10I hope sometime that God gives me opportunity to teach lessons on grace.
- 13:17Grace has been defined as unmerited favor and love of God. You see,
- 13:26it's being in God's favor or one of his elect.
- 13:29Do you realize that when you come to Jesus with a repentant heart and ask him
- 13:35to be your Savior, that you are now born into the family of God?
- 13:40And you talk about a crest, a family crest.
- 13:45All the jewels and all the family crests in
- 13:48this world cannot hold a light to the
- 13:51glory of the crest of christ you
- 13:55see those are nail scars in his
- 13:59hands those are nail scars in his
- 14:02feet that's a scar down his side
- 14:05and he said i bear the marks of the body
- 14:08i bear them in my body now
- 14:12that's a family crest and i
- 14:16am heir with jesus christ
- 14:19he's my father and listen
- 14:22closely i'm in his bloodline because his blood washed away my sins and flows
- 14:31freely through my body in the form of the holy spirit who chose to dwell in my heart Tch.
- 14:40To be my comforter, my personal teacher,
- 14:44who prays for me when I can't pray for myself, who makes moanings and groanings
- 14:49to Jesus, who is sitting as my advocate at the throne of God,
- 14:57praying for me to have access to this because of faith.
- 15:02You see, you begin to see that I'm walking in flesh and bone,
- 15:07but my strength isn't in me.
- 15:10My strength is in Jesus Christ, who in Philippians 4.13 said that I,
- 15:17me, Kim Miller, could do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
- 15:22And to bring it home so that you understand very clearly how good he is at supplying
- 15:28your needs, as he says in 4.19 of Philippians, and how he can strengthen you.
- 15:33Let's just take a small look at what you're listening to. a young lady in Milton,
- 15:40West Virginia, who God said, teach what I put on your heart.
- 15:46Speak the words that I give you boldly and without any kind of shame.
- 15:55Just tell them what you and I chat about in the wee hours of the night.
- 16:01Talk to them about what we talk
- 16:04about when we're driving down the car let
- 16:08them know what i said to you
- 16:12about the things i have
- 16:15for them there's no other
- 16:18way i could have your ear right now other
- 16:22than that god said i'll supply the
- 16:25people you obey the call friends he
- 16:29strengthens he strengthens at
- 16:33this stage of my ministry i still work full-time
- 16:36in another job i still live a life but i'm able through his strength and his
- 16:42supplications and the supplies that he gives me to keep programs coming on the
- 16:51air because all i do is trust and obey.
- 16:56For there's no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey.
- 17:02And the strength comes every single time. As we move a little further,
- 17:09we see that he says, and not only so.
- 17:12Excuse me, let's back up. He says, wherein we stand and rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
- 17:17We rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.
- 17:23Where's your hope? My hope is in Jesus Christ and his righteousness.
- 17:27I don't have a hope so salvation in that I hope I get to heaven.
- 17:32I hope I've done it right. I hope I didn't get it wrong.
- 17:35I have a hope that gives me inspiration and encouragement that motivates me,
- 17:42that gives me peace and joy and comfort in knowing that I am looking for that
- 17:46blessed hope and the appearing of Jesus Christ that he tells us in Titus 2.
- 17:53Friends, it's real, and that realness gives me hope. We have a hope.
- 18:01And then he says, and not only so, but we glory in tribulations also,
- 18:07knowing the tribulation work with patience.
- 18:08And patience experience and experience hope
- 18:12he's done it before he'll do it again i've been
- 18:15in the valley i know that he was there i needed him in the wee hours of the
- 18:20night i needed him when i was at the end of my rope i've seen it happen i've
- 18:24watched his hand of miracles i've seen him supply when no one else could see
- 18:28i've watched things happen that only divine intervention can make.
- 18:34So if he's done it before and he never changes, he's the same today,
- 18:37yesterday, and forevermore.
- 18:38Then I have the experience to know that when the rubber meets the road,
- 18:42when things are getting absolutely difficult in my life, when I'm in the midst of the fiery furnace,
- 18:47you can look and see that there's a fourth man in the fire, and it's likened
- 18:51unto the Son of God, and he's holding my hand, and he's leading me forward,
- 18:55and he's showing me the way, and he's covering me every step of the way.
- 19:01Because just like the Hebrew children, when I pass through to the other side.
- 19:08There'll be no smoke on me.
- 19:11Friends, there'll be no touch of hell on me.
- 19:15I won't spend a few days in hell to get myself cleaned up and then get to heaven.
- 19:21That doctrine is so wrong. And there's so many people that are in hell today
- 19:26believing that they were okay to do whatever they wanted to do because their religion taught them.
- 19:31That if they would just hang on that
- 19:35three days in hell and they'd be fine and they'd rise and they'd go again folks
- 19:39hell is real it's real bad and it's
- 19:42forever but you don't have to go there because it
- 19:45was created for the devil and his angels not for you oh friends
- 19:49when tribulations come you can
- 19:53have hope because you're not alone he said
- 19:56hey be of good cheer greater is you that is in greater is
- 19:59he that is in you than he that is in the world he said hey i'll
- 20:03never leave you nor forsake you he said hey come follow me get it he's in front
- 20:08of you and he's better than any windshield you'll ever see he doesn't crack
- 20:12he doesn't break and he never gets dirty there's never any gunk on him the gunk
- 20:18on us we get a little dirty like peter and we have to come and be washed.
- 20:23Oh, but when he's leading the way, talk about drafting.
- 20:27If we could just sit so close to Jesus that we drafted through this world.
- 20:33Oh, what a difference our lives would be.
- 20:37And hope maketh not ashamed. When you believe in him and you know who he is
- 20:41and you place all of your trust in him, you won't be ashamed.
- 20:45You'll be like the Apostle Paul who says, I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.
- 20:49Because you'll realize that there's never been anything better.
- 20:53There's never been anything stronger.
- 20:55There's never been anything more fun. There's never been anything more reliable.
- 20:58There's never been anything more faithful.
- 21:00There's never been anything more valuable, more precious, more wonderful than
- 21:05Jesus Christ and a personal relationship with him. And you'll want others to have it.
- 21:10You won't be ashamed because that strength of Jesus Christ is pumping through your veins.
- 21:17Oh, my friends, if we read a little further, look at this.
- 21:22He says, And hope maketh not a shame, because the love of God is shed abroad
- 21:27in her hearts by the Holy Ghost, which is given to us.
- 21:32If that isn't love, he's so attached to me, Kimberly Miller,
- 21:40that he couldn't stand to be away from me.
- 21:44So you know what he did? he sent the holy spirit to dwell in my heart that i'd
- 21:51never be alone and he would be my comforter,
- 21:54and i would have straight access to the throne of god straight access to jesus
- 22:00christ and then he put a big stamp on me you see i carry my father's last name
- 22:06because i've never been married.
- 22:09And my last name is Miller, and that was my daddy's. And everywhere that I went,
- 22:13people could recognize that I was my daddy's because I had his name on me.
- 22:19Listen to me. Listen to me.
- 22:22I belong to the God of the universe because my daddy was mine because I was born into his family.
- 22:31His blood runs through me in some form.
- 22:35Leon Miller is non-mistakably my father because I look like him. I have his mannerisms.
- 22:40You can tell who I am and whose I was.
- 22:44Listen to me. The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts.
- 22:51And when he sees me, he sees the blood. And there's no mistaking who I am.
- 22:58And friends, the final part of this passage, when I had no strength and when
- 23:05I have no strength now, Listen, Christ died and he was victorious.
- 23:10And that same power that rose him up from the dead, I have straight access to.
- 23:14And when I'm dead on my trespasses and sin, I was raised by him.
- 23:19And friends, listen to me. When I am dead, dog tired.
- 23:25If I'm in his strength, I have access to him. And guess what?
- 23:31In due time, in due time, he died for me.
- 23:36When I was without strength. So when I'm without strength, He prevails.
- 23:42There is a strength, an eternal strength, and it's found in Jesus Christ.
