- 0:36Speaker 3: I don't think you're familiar with this person, but this
- 0:38Speaker 3: is courtesy of AM five, seventy LA Sports and the
- 0:40Speaker 3: Dodgers Audio Network.
- 0:42Speaker 2: You want baseball news. He doesn't even know who Kyle
- 0:45Speaker 2: Tucker is.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Tucker lines with in the center for the base at
- 0:49Speaker 3: Dodgers are gonna win it.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Here comes old tiny round third. He'll store top out that.
- 0:55Speaker 3: Second walkoff win of the season for Tucker four career
- 1:00Speaker 3: walk off.
- 1:01Speaker 4: Hits, and the Dodgers come back for the eleventh time
- 1:04Speaker 4: this year and win the ball game of five to four. Wow. Yeah,
- 1:11Speaker 4: he had to go to LA for anyone to care
- 1:13Speaker 4: about who he is. I mean, how about that?
- 1:15Speaker 1: The way I know him is he's the guy the
- 1:17Speaker 1: Mets didn't get because the Dodgers are bad for baseball.
- 1:20Speaker 4: That's how I know. How about that? How about that?
- 1:23Speaker 4: I was gonna say, do you know that?
- 1:24Speaker 5: You?
- 1:25Speaker 3: How crazy would it be if everybody listening or everybody
- 1:28Speaker 3: doing that broadcast is like, Man, I'm gonna make sure
- 1:31Speaker 3: Stu Gatts knows who Kyle Kyle Tucker is in a
- 1:34Speaker 3: very subtle way by driving a How about that?
- 1:37Speaker 2: You want baseball news? He doesn't even know who Kyle
- 1:40Speaker 2: Tucker is.
- 1:41Speaker 4: How about that?
- 1:42Speaker 1: We'll get to Ike and the update here in just
- 1:46Speaker 1: a second before we do it. I don't think we
- 1:48Speaker 1: have imaging for this. We should, though, mikey A has
- 1:51Speaker 1: a fantastic stat of the day.
- 1:54Speaker 6: Yes, according to tick Pick, it is now cheaper to
- 1:59Speaker 6: get a Taco Bell crunch Wrap Supreme than it is
- 2:02Speaker 6: to go to the Mets gate.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Wow.
- 2:08Speaker 5: Is that inflation or bad on the Mets part?
- 2:11Speaker 4: That's bad baseball.
- 2:13Speaker 3: It's with the fees too, So wait, which is more expensive?
- 2:16Speaker 3: The crunch wrap? Supreme is more expensive than a Mets ticket.
- 2:20Speaker 6: Yes, the crunch Wrap Supreme is a six dollars and
- 2:23Speaker 6: thirty nine cent purchase. Well, you can get to the
- 2:26Speaker 6: Mets game for six dollars.
- 2:27Speaker 3: Even Look, I know this is a Mets joke, sure,
- 2:30Speaker 3: but the things I used to be able to buy
- 2:32Speaker 3: a Taco Bell for six dollars and thirty nine six
- 2:34Speaker 3: I mean I could feed my whole fan.
- 2:36Speaker 4: A week's worth of food, exactly.
- 2:38Speaker 3: This inflation is more obvious at Taco Bell than anywhere
- 2:40Speaker 3: else in the world.
- 2:43Speaker 4: Just so we're clear here.
- 2:45Speaker 1: You can go to Taco Bell, go through the drive
- 2:48Speaker 1: through ad, spend less money there than you would if
- 2:51Speaker 1: you went to City Field to a metskan No more
- 2:54Speaker 1: more money there than if you went to City Field
- 2:56Speaker 1: and a metskin. Wow, you to see my order, Stew,
- 3:01Speaker 1: It's well over six dollars.
- 3:03Speaker 4: I don't want to see it.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Phillies fire their manager. Enough, the Phillies fire their manager.
- 3:08Speaker 1: The Mets need to follow suit.
- 3:12Speaker 4: Taco Bell, Sam over there. I'm sorry, I I think
- 3:16Speaker 4: my dog ate Taco Bell. Oh my god, No, you
- 3:19Speaker 4: don't want to see my receipt? I get it. Blame
- 3:23Speaker 4: the dog. Mikey, how about that. I do want to
- 3:26Speaker 4: see it now? Why it was? It is that next time,
- 3:28Speaker 4: I'll send you a picture.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Okay, all right, So big news here for the show
- 3:34Speaker 1: is he he left frantically yesterday. He was in a
- 3:37Speaker 1: he was in a rush. He was hoping one of
- 3:40Speaker 1: two things would happen. Either it would rain, and by
- 3:43Speaker 1: rain I mean poor, because he had to make it
- 3:46Speaker 1: to the softball game, or hopefully enough people by the
- 3:49Speaker 1: time he got back to his house to get his glove,
- 3:52Speaker 1: get his stuff, enough people had committed to the softball game,
- 3:56Speaker 1: where is he wouldn't have to attend the softball game.
- 3:58Speaker 4: Neither of those things happened.
- 4:00Speaker 3: I am told I was hopeful that either enough people
- 4:02Speaker 3: or not enough people would show up and we had
- 4:05Speaker 3: to forfeit and Stu Gatts. Yes, leading up to the game,
- 4:09Speaker 3: like mere moments before the game, yes.
- 4:11Speaker 4: We had eight.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Oh, I was pumping my fist because we need ten
- 4:15Speaker 3: to play. But out of nowhere two people showed up
- 4:19Speaker 3: right before first.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Pich And so the audience knows Taylor has dragged Israel
- 4:23Speaker 1: goodie eras into a softball league and a team that
- 4:25Speaker 1: he wants no part of, and in exchange is he
- 4:28Speaker 1: has dragged Taylor into a flag football league that he
- 4:31Speaker 1: wants no part of. And so that's where we're at.
- 4:34Speaker 1: They've played a couple of games here. There have been
- 4:36Speaker 1: a couple of rain outs. There have been some I
- 4:38Speaker 1: don't know. They had a bye week, they had two
- 4:40Speaker 1: bye weeks.
- 4:41Speaker 5: A mercy rule, mercy rule, yes.
- 4:43Speaker 4: But they don't have a win. Do we now have
- 4:45Speaker 4: a win? Guys? We got a win? Baby?
- 4:47Speaker 5: Oh wow, we did.
- 4:49Speaker 4: Wow, tayl you want to set this one up.
- 4:54Speaker 5: So Stu. We are down nine to five going into
- 4:57Speaker 5: the fifth and final inning.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Why this is a free agent team, right, So Taylor
- 5:01Speaker 3: asked me to play because he and I and his
- 5:03Speaker 3: buddy Ian were playing, and I was like, let me
- 5:05Speaker 3: get a few pals to play with us too. So
- 5:07Speaker 3: we got like six people or five people that we know,
- 5:09Speaker 3: but everybody else in the squad, including the really good player,
- 5:12Speaker 3: we don't know them.
- 5:13Speaker 5: Yeah, we have one kid that just hits home runs.
- 5:16Speaker 4: Yeah, it's I mean, that's it.
- 5:19Speaker 5: So we're down nine to five going into the fifth
- 5:21Speaker 5: and final inning. We get the bases loaded and let
- 5:26Speaker 5: me let me go back two innings because we had
- 5:29Speaker 5: the bases loaded no outs in the third inning, they
- 5:32Speaker 5: struck out the side.
- 5:34Speaker 4: I was one of those. They killed them, you struck out.
- 5:38Speaker 3: I went up with a I went up with a
- 5:40Speaker 3: bases load my first at bat, no second and bat first,
- 5:43Speaker 3: bat camera, okay, first and bata, bases loaded, no outs.
- 5:47Speaker 3: It is literally one two three, my third at bat
- 5:51Speaker 3: all time in life. Okay. And so it's so funny, Taylor,
- 5:56Speaker 3: because we got that one guy who's like telling you, hey,
- 5:58Speaker 3: look for the good one, wait for the good one.
- 6:00Speaker 4: I have no idea what the good one looks like.
- 6:02Speaker 4: I hate me.
- 6:02Speaker 3: I'm sitting up there in my third and bat ever,
- 6:05Speaker 3: and yeah, I struck out. I saw a high pitch coming,
- 6:07Speaker 3: and I was like, I see a lot of people
- 6:09Speaker 3: swing and do something with these high pitches.
- 6:10Speaker 4: Let me see if I can.
- 6:11Speaker 1: So I hate that guy. I can't stand that guy.
- 6:14Speaker 1: It's maya bad it's not yours. But I do see Taylor,
- 6:16Speaker 1: who I love being that guy.
- 6:19Speaker 5: So I was a third base coach when the basses
- 6:22Speaker 5: got loaded in the third inning, and I held the
- 6:24Speaker 5: guy at third after that hit because I was like,
- 6:28Speaker 5: we don't want to run into any outs. And then
- 6:30Speaker 5: I looked at who was coming up in the lineup,
- 6:31Speaker 5: and I said, shoot, I probably should have sent him.
- 6:34Speaker 5: So let me give a compliment, sandwich. Take your chances
- 6:38Speaker 5: with that guy getting a run, right, I'm going to
- 6:39Speaker 5: give a compliment sandwich to is he okay, wow a sandwich?
- 6:43Speaker 5: First off, is he showing up?
- 6:46Speaker 4: Okay?
- 6:47Speaker 5: Credit?
- 6:48Speaker 4: Oh boys, let's hear it.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Let's hear him out. Showing up is one slice of
- 6:57Speaker 1: brad go ahead.
- 6:57Speaker 5: Because at one point is he was walking back from
- 7:00Speaker 5: the dugout and he said, I heard him say. I
- 7:03Speaker 5: don't know if he said this to somebody or was
- 7:05Speaker 5: just kind of talking to himself. I don't know why
- 7:07Speaker 5: I signed up for a sport I've never played, I.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Said, I said, and it was so Taylor could hear me.
- 7:11Speaker 3: I said, it's so ridiculous that I've signed up for
- 7:13Speaker 3: a sport I've never played before.
- 7:15Speaker 4: Just like that.
- 7:16Speaker 5: So that's the first layer of the compliment sandwich.
- 7:18Speaker 4: Okay.
- 7:18Speaker 5: The second layer is where you get to some constructive criticism.
- 7:24Speaker 5: The high pitch, that is, he swung at yes, Stu gotts. Yeah,
- 7:28Speaker 5: he left his feet to swing out. We talked about
- 7:32Speaker 5: this because tippy toes, he jumped me. He jumps I
- 7:35Speaker 5: did not I absolutely did not.
- 7:38Speaker 4: I did not jump. I would cut you. I mean,
- 7:40Speaker 4: but I guarantee it looked terrible. But I did not
- 7:44Speaker 4: leave my feet. That's absolutely ridiculous.
- 7:46Speaker 5: Absolutely in my mind, you left your feet.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Okay, that's fine. But the third at bat, so all right,
- 7:51Speaker 3: first and bat striking.
- 7:52Speaker 4: Well, that's one.
- 7:54Speaker 7: Closing out the compliment sandwich. Okay, so Ian's a friend
- 7:57Speaker 7: of yours. He's at the game. Did you get there?
- 7:59Speaker 4: Oh? Yeah, Oh? Ian did show up? Now, okay, wonder
- 8:02Speaker 4: you wont Yeah? I wanted to see it, right. That guy,
- 8:04Speaker 4: he thinks he's the greatest.
- 8:05Speaker 1: He does nothing, But like Ian, I want to see
- 8:08Speaker 1: if Taylor and Ian were laughing after the game.
- 8:10Speaker 4: That is he got was off his knee swinging at
- 8:13Speaker 4: a pitch.
- 8:13Speaker 5: Now, we're not laughing at anybody. We're supporting people. That's
- 8:17Speaker 5: why we won this game. We're fighting. And speaking of Roommdian,
- 8:21Speaker 5: he's been the star of the softball this softball saga,
- 8:24Speaker 5: my Jewish former roommate who wears a Dominican Republican hat
- 8:28Speaker 5: to the game. He made seven errors in game one
- 8:31Speaker 5: after being touted as this gold glover with his girlfriend
- 8:34Speaker 5: and attendant. Worst case scenario for him yesterday was that
- 8:37Speaker 5: we won while he was in Italy.
- 8:38Speaker 4: Okay, so he's the star of this winless team.
- 8:40Speaker 2: I mean.
- 8:42Speaker 5: He is the poster child for this winless team.
- 8:45Speaker 4: One soo one Soto.
- 8:49Speaker 5: So let me finish the compliment, Sandwich. We're getting up
- 8:54Speaker 5: with the bases loaded again in the fifth inning, down
- 8:57Speaker 5: five or down four runs, four to tie, five to win.
- 9:00Speaker 3: We were told time was running out and we knew
- 9:02Speaker 3: this was most likely going to be our.
- 9:04Speaker 4: Last at bat.
- 9:04Speaker 5: Games are times, yes, yes, yeah, it's time, not innings.
- 9:08Speaker 4: Is he likes that though at least he knows the end.
- 9:12Speaker 5: So as he gets up with the bases loaded.
- 9:14Speaker 7: Again, and in my mind, I'm just striking out because
- 9:18Speaker 7: he jumped for a pitch. Okay, in my mind bases loaded,
- 9:21Speaker 7: no outs, yes, in my head, is he If we're
- 9:25Speaker 7: being honest here, I said, we'll take a strikeout now.
- 9:29Speaker 4: Well it's a good time for one. Yes, we're being honest.
- 9:31Speaker 3: On my first at bat, I was like, I'll take
- 9:34Speaker 3: a strike out here because I don't want to ground
- 9:36Speaker 3: into a double play exactly. And so so the second
- 9:39Speaker 3: at bat, this is my third at bat of the
- 9:40Speaker 3: second time, basis load my second at bat, I literally
- 9:43Speaker 3: hit a ball that was this far from each foul line,
- 9:47Speaker 3: so it was right at my feet basically, and I
- 9:50Speaker 3: was like, well, that's fair.
- 9:50Speaker 4: Let me see if I can beat this thing up.
- 9:52Speaker 4: And I didn't beat it out.
- 9:53Speaker 3: So the third at bat, I'm like, all right, listen,
- 9:56Speaker 3: this picture is clearly choking.
- 9:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:00Speaker 3: He kept telling him, he kept hearing from his teammates.
- 10:02Speaker 3: We need these outs, buddy, we need these outs. And
- 10:04Speaker 3: the guy right before me worked a walk.
- 10:07Speaker 4: Plus it's the third time you're seeing him.
- 10:09Speaker 5: So through the order, exactly, is he like the eighth
- 10:13Speaker 5: batter up this inning at this point, like this kid's
- 10:16Speaker 5: arm is about to fall off his body.
- 10:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:18Speaker 3: So I was assuming the game would be over before
- 10:20Speaker 3: I had to go back to underhand. And so I
- 10:23Speaker 3: get up there and I look at the guy, the
- 10:25Speaker 3: pitcher's face and like he's a little rattled. But he
- 10:28Speaker 3: looks at me and says, oh, this guy.
- 10:30Speaker 4: I'm good. So I'm like, we'll see who wins this
- 10:34Speaker 4: battle of wits here. You're the guy in the lineup.
- 10:36Speaker 4: When he comes up, everyone's in peace.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Well, I will say there's another guy in the lineup,
- 10:40Speaker 3: but I don't want to call him out. He might
- 10:42Speaker 3: be worse than me, and I know his little Tapa
- 10:45Speaker 3: Tapa guy.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Yeah, the Tapa Tapa guy is good though.
- 10:49Speaker 4: I like that. I mean, you put it in the
- 10:50Speaker 4: right place. You got yourself a single, I mean straight
- 10:53Speaker 4: up into the air.
- 10:53Speaker 5: Yeah, it's good. Like your feet, blood, sweat, and tears
- 11:02Speaker 5: were left on that field yesterday. Now some people are
- 11:05Speaker 5: saying that blood was exclusively from me.
- 11:08Speaker 4: We haven't gotten to that party.
- 11:09Speaker 5: That would be correct, because nobody stew has ever run
- 11:13Speaker 5: into a fence harder than I did trying to catch
- 11:16Speaker 5: a home run that was like forty feet past the wall.
- 11:20Speaker 5: But I first rule you learn as an outfielder, find
- 11:23Speaker 5: the wall. I disregarded that wall because I found the wall.
- 11:28Speaker 5: It was just my face finding the wall.
- 11:29Speaker 4: Yes, but you're Andrew Jones.
- 11:31Speaker 3: I mean, in fairness to Taylor, it's a chain li
- 11:35Speaker 3: like fence with absolutely no color on it. You can
- 11:38Speaker 3: see right through it. And so unless you're feeling that
- 11:41Speaker 3: three feet of warning track, you have no idea where
- 11:45Speaker 3: that fence is.
- 11:47Speaker 7: You gotta put some padding on the fence. No, I mean,
- 11:50Speaker 7: and the kids. First at bat, Stew he hit a
- 11:52Speaker 7: home run. So now I'm going into it. He hit
- 11:54Speaker 7: a home run that grazed off the top, So now
- 11:57Speaker 7: I'm thinking, okay, if he does that again, I could
- 12:00Speaker 7: at least try to make a play on it. The
- 12:02Speaker 7: second the ball went off the bat, I took off
- 12:05Speaker 7: like a bat out of hell, trying to catch this ball,
- 12:08Speaker 7: and the only thing that stopped me was the.
- 12:10Speaker 5: Chain link fence. They were laughing. The other team was chuckling.
- 12:17Speaker 4: I wasn't right the comeback, Yeah, but who had the
- 12:20Speaker 4: last laugh? Taylor?
- 12:21Speaker 3: Well, here's how we had this last laugh. You're ready,
- 12:24Speaker 3: So I go up and bassis loaded again.
- 12:28Speaker 4: Still no doubt he I mean, how many ducks did
- 12:30Speaker 4: you leave on the pard?
- 12:30Speaker 3: And I look here, me and I stare at that picture,
- 12:33Speaker 3: and I'm like, okay, I think he's more nervous than I.
- 12:36Speaker 3: And I wasn't even nervous. I was like, I've already
- 12:39Speaker 3: done here. I've already done three embarrassing things. I struck out,
- 12:42Speaker 3: I hit a one inch dribbler, and I misplayed a
- 12:44Speaker 3: ball in right field, which we're not going to talk about.
- 12:46Speaker 4: And you jumped.
- 12:47Speaker 5: I didn't jump.
- 12:49Speaker 3: So I'm like, all right, let's see first pitch. I'm
- 12:52Speaker 3: like I'm taking first pitch regardless, and it was only
- 12:55Speaker 3: about two feet short or two inches short. I was like,
- 12:57Speaker 3: all right, maybe he's back on his game. Let me
- 13:00Speaker 3: be aware here for this second pitch.
- 13:02Speaker 4: Stude. The second pitch was so short.
- 13:04Speaker 1: I was like, yes, this guy, this guy like his drugs,
- 13:08Speaker 1: arms treath after the game.
- 13:10Speaker 3: And so I knew he would try to get it
- 13:12Speaker 3: up on the next one. But I'm just like, I
- 13:14Speaker 3: think this guy's been pitching inside a bit much. I
- 13:16Speaker 3: think I might let this one go too. It's a
- 13:18Speaker 3: little higher, and I watch it drop, it's like one
- 13:21Speaker 3: inch inside. I'm like, yeah, that's a walk. That's an RBI.
- 13:24Speaker 3: I have contributed to the softball.
- 13:26Speaker 4: Yes, and then the very you say you worked a walk,
- 13:30Speaker 4: you just didn't swing.
- 13:32Speaker 7: Yeah, that direct or jump or jump never left his shoulder, Mikey.
- 13:36Speaker 3: But that third pitch was very enticing, Mikey. It was
- 13:40Speaker 3: very enticing, and my eye said, no, no, let that
- 13:43Speaker 3: one fall, Mikey Is.
- 13:44Speaker 5: He could have took that at bat from the dugout
- 13:46Speaker 5: and we would have got the same results.
- 13:48Speaker 4: Today.
- 13:50Speaker 3: All I know is the box score says bb RBI is.
- 13:54Speaker 1: He was so excited about his RBI I responded to
- 13:56Speaker 1: him in the group text saying walk shood count as
- 13:58Speaker 1: an RBI, and I said.
- 13:59Speaker 4: Shut up. Agreed.
- 14:02Speaker 6: I have tailorized the third base coach not doing any signs,
- 14:06Speaker 6: just yelling red line.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Red lie, so that that takes us, that brings us
- 14:12Speaker 3: to within a run. The next batter, I'm on first base,
- 14:16Speaker 3: and of course I have to ask my first base coach.
- 14:17Speaker 4: Are we allowed to take leads?
- 14:18Speaker 5: No?
- 14:19Speaker 1: Okay, So you're on first base here, you guys are
- 14:21Speaker 1: making the comeback. First base is a very unfamiliar spot for.
- 14:24Speaker 4: You, any base, very unfamiliar. What do I do here? Right?
- 14:27Speaker 3: And so I think it's maybe second pitch, our number
- 14:30Speaker 3: ten hitter whose name.
- 14:32Speaker 4: Was Bam, the guy should be batty.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Fourth just laced a double, might have even gone across
- 14:40Speaker 3: against the fence. I'm not even sure. And two runs score,
- 14:44Speaker 3: and as that final run is scoring, the.
- 14:48Speaker 4: Umpire goes time.
- 14:50Speaker 5: Man.
- 14:50Speaker 4: That was it. That was the game. We won, nine
- 14:52Speaker 4: to eight. I was shocked. I was.
- 14:54Speaker 3: I hustled my ass to second base and I'm like,
- 14:56Speaker 3: what just happened?
- 14:57Speaker 4: Did we win?
- 14:58Speaker 3: And like I'm walking off the field and I'm like, oh, no,
- 15:00Speaker 3: time ran out? We lost and then our team's happy.
- 15:03Speaker 3: I'm like, we actually won. What the heck has happened?
- 15:06Speaker 4: Great time? Oh my god? I contributed.
- 15:08Speaker 5: It was like ten people that, like you could very
- 15:11Speaker 5: clearly tell, are not used to winning in softball because
- 15:14Speaker 5: everybody's kind of looking around, like the umpires like you
- 15:17Speaker 5: just walked them off. And everybody on our team was like,
- 15:19Speaker 5: you sure.
- 15:20Speaker 4: What do we do to get that right? There's time.
- 15:24Speaker 5: The other team was so mad. We're in like full uniforms, like.
- 15:28Speaker 4: Oh my god, two home run guy was two home
- 15:31Speaker 4: run guy.
- 15:31Speaker 5: They really let two home run guy down.
- 15:33Speaker 1: So Taylor's been, uh, he's been trying to take rules
- 15:35Speaker 1: from soccer and implement them into sports here in the
- 15:38Speaker 1: United States, right, And so I'm thinking and Mikey tried
- 15:41Speaker 1: to do it with the Savannah Bananas and their extra
- 15:44Speaker 1: innings and how they go about it yesterday and put
- 15:46Speaker 1: it into Major League Baseball.
- 15:47Speaker 4: Yes, Mikey, you know what other baseball is timed? Right? Well,
- 15:50Speaker 4: Savannah Bananas.
- 15:52Speaker 1: You wish it was shorter, but Mikey, uh, well, he
- 15:58Speaker 1: tried to do that yesterday. How would you guys feel
- 16:02Speaker 1: about a clock in Major League Baseball? Like it's like
- 16:06Speaker 1: a no like a two and a half hour game
- 16:09Speaker 1: clock or a two hour game clock, and the umpire
- 16:12Speaker 1: just sprints onto the field and says time.
- 16:16Speaker 4: I mean that's it would bring some urgency to the game.
- 16:18Speaker 4: I like it.
- 16:19Speaker 3: Did you imagine a world series ending with an umpire
- 16:22Speaker 3: just running onto the field and be like time, win
- 16:26Speaker 3: it again?
- 16:26Speaker 1: And then times for each game are different, so the
- 16:29Speaker 1: players have no idea how much time they have remaining.
- 16:32Speaker 4: I mean, that's urgency. How about that? Huh? I don't
- 16:35Speaker 4: love it. No one likes them.
- 16:38Speaker 5: I feel like we haven't talked enough about how hard
- 16:41Speaker 5: I ran into that fence.
- 16:43Speaker 4: I didn't know. I had no idea that he was bleeding,
- 16:46Speaker 4: Like it was that bad. Do you have imprints from
- 16:48Speaker 4: the fence on your chest or I mean I.
- 16:50Speaker 5: Had, I had like compression like leggings on just in
- 16:54Speaker 5: case I have to like make a dive or something.
- 16:56Speaker 4: Slide into a base.
- 16:57Speaker 5: Yeah, well, never slide into a base.
- 17:00Speaker 4: But it's embarrassing, Anthony.
- 17:03Speaker 5: But Stu, I'm walking. I'm hobbling back to the dugout.
- 17:07Speaker 5: I'm not kidding. It feels like I got in like
- 17:09Speaker 5: a mini car crash.
- 17:11Speaker 4: That's how bad it hurts.
- 17:13Speaker 5: I look down at my leggings and they are just
- 17:16Speaker 5: dripping in blood.
- 17:17Speaker 4: Right, it's a.
- 17:19Speaker 3: Very k we left it all, Kurt Gibson. Gibson, I'm
- 17:23Speaker 3: thinking of you're thinking of bloody suck like that.
- 17:28Speaker 4: You can't stand. Yes, I'm not alone, No one can stand.
- 17:35Speaker 4: So is it not kosher to a slide and suftball?
- 17:40Speaker 5: It's yeah, it's just a very like try hard.
- 17:42Speaker 4: Well, well, Anthony is very try hard Anthony. I could
- 17:45Speaker 4: see doing it. You can't do it, Taylor can't do it.
- 17:47Speaker 4: Anthony can do it. Anthony.
- 17:50Speaker 5: I have to tell you, Anthony might be one of
- 17:52Speaker 5: the like most impressive physical specimens I've ever seen, because
- 17:57Speaker 5: I was trying to think of like what it reminded
- 17:59Speaker 5: me of, and with his stature, it kind of reminds
- 18:03Speaker 5: me of Mighty Mouse, Yes, because he comes in very
- 18:05Speaker 5: small and Stu.
- 18:07Speaker 4: He popped down run Yes, Stu.
- 18:09Speaker 5: He hit one yesterday, Yeah, probably like two fifty, like
- 18:13Speaker 5: three hundred yes where he almost hit it out And
- 18:16Speaker 5: I was like, oh my, I'm looking at him as
- 18:17Speaker 5: he's rounding the bases. I'm like that kind of guy
- 18:20Speaker 5: should never have that kind of power. He was like
- 18:22Speaker 5: Jose two Van.
- 18:23Speaker 1: They don't need to tell me he's a sneaky good athlete.
- 18:26Speaker 1: Anthony's house all. He's smaller than May five. So the
- 18:29Speaker 1: first time, well the only time that he came to
- 18:31Speaker 1: Parkland Golf and played golf with us, I am telling
- 18:34Speaker 1: you he's so unsuspecting in terms of being that good.
- 18:37Speaker 4: Of an athlete. He steps up to the first tea.
- 18:40Speaker 1: And I'm like, Anthony's not good at golf. That's what
- 18:42Speaker 1: I'm thinking.
- 18:43Speaker 4: The entire time.
- 18:44Speaker 1: He rips one two ninety right down the middle of
- 18:48Speaker 1: the first hole of my course, and I think he
- 18:50Speaker 1: was like, I don't know, plus two for the round.
- 18:52Speaker 4: He was great.
- 18:53Speaker 5: So Anthony is our second basement. Our defense yesterday was unbelievable,
- 18:57Speaker 5: Like we turned multiple double plays, had a couple of
- 18:59Speaker 5: diving catch is one one was by me, Yes, that
- 19:02Speaker 5: that is correct way to go Andrew. There was there
- 19:04Speaker 5: was one play where Anthony's playing second is he's playing
- 19:08Speaker 5: right fields where a ball gets hit into almost no
- 19:11Speaker 5: man's land behind second base and I'm just looking at
- 19:14Speaker 5: Izzy and I'm.
- 19:15Speaker 4: Like, oh my god, please, I never would have gotten
- 19:17Speaker 4: to that.
- 19:18Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm like, I'm there's no chance. I'm praying that
- 19:20Speaker 5: Anthony could do something to bail him out here. Yeah,
- 19:22Speaker 5: and he makes such an unbelievable over the shoulder catch
- 19:26Speaker 5: to end the inning. I was like, oh my god,
- 19:28Speaker 5: gold glove forget Yeah, like right yea. Ian's mad right
- 19:32Speaker 5: now because he wanted to come back to the infield.
- 19:35Speaker 5: And I was like, we got somebody big Rob now
- 19:37Speaker 5: playing and he was like, wait, you think I lost
- 19:39Speaker 5: my my spot at first base. I was like, you
- 19:41Speaker 5: have somebody named big Rob somebody.
- 19:42Speaker 4: N I mean you got big robbed? Yeah.
- 19:46Speaker 5: Two in the soccer game. By the way, Now what
- 19:49Speaker 5: goals Galore.
- 19:50Speaker 4: Wown an explosion too? Is this the Is this the
- 19:56Speaker 4: most goals ever scored in a soccer game?
- 19:59Speaker 5: I'll look that him break.

- 20:51Speaker 1: we don't anymore. So eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Let's now go to Taylor's beef with Barnes and Nobles.
- 20:57Speaker 4: Izzy.
- 20:58Speaker 1: I was supposed to start the show with us yesterday.
- 21:00Speaker 1: I promised Taylor that I would lead the week with it,
- 21:04Speaker 1: and I forgot to do it. Taylor was in Barnes
- 21:06Speaker 1: and Nobles. He took a picture of Steve Summers's book.
- 21:08Speaker 1: He was an overnight host for WFA and he wrote
- 21:10Speaker 1: an autobiography. I told Taylor to get him on the
- 21:13Speaker 1: show immediately. He's a legend, that guy. But what is
- 21:16Speaker 1: your beef here with Barnes and Nobles Tailor.
- 21:19Speaker 5: Yeah, so you could classify it as a beef, an altercation,
- 21:22Speaker 5: or a confrontation. Either any of those words is going
- 21:26Speaker 5: to describe what happened to me at Barnes and Noble.
- 21:28Speaker 5: I go to Barnes and Noble normally to Peru's books
- 21:31Speaker 5: I want to read, and then normally I find them
- 21:34Speaker 5: cheaper somewhere else. This trip, since I'm about to I
- 21:38Speaker 5: was about to fly back from New York back to
- 21:41Speaker 5: Fort Lauderdale, I said, let me just get a book here.
- 21:45Speaker 5: I go to the register and I say, do you
- 21:47Speaker 5: guys price match Amazon? The lady looked at me with
- 21:51Speaker 5: such disgust and said, absolutely not. And I'm insulted you
- 21:55Speaker 5: even asked, and I said, she said that. I said, ma'am, respectfully,
- 22:01Speaker 5: you're not some mom and pop shop. What is me
- 22:05Speaker 5: type store? Your Barnes and Noble.
- 22:06Speaker 3: Give me a break, She missus Barnes that she's personally
- 22:09Speaker 3: getting offended.
- 22:10Speaker 4: She's just the cash here there, h missus Noble.
- 22:17Speaker 5: It didn't even seem like that ridiculous of a question.
- 22:20Speaker 5: I feel like most companies, most major corporations, price match
- 22:24Speaker 5: the Targets and the Amazons. She she might as well
- 22:27Speaker 5: have called store security on me to escort me out.
- 22:30Speaker 5: I said, you know what, Steve Sommer's me here, you there,
- 22:34Speaker 5: I'm not even gonna get the book now, forget it.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Yes, I'm with her, but i'm with her. It's insulting
- 22:37Speaker 1: their Barnes and Nobles.
- 22:39Speaker 4: I mean, but what was Amazon before Amazon? They were
- 22:41Speaker 4: a book joint like they.
- 22:44Speaker 3: So, yeah, if you would ask if any place of
- 22:46Speaker 3: Barnes and Nobles do you match, I'm gonna ask Amazon.
- 22:49Speaker 4: Yeah. But all these places hate Amazon. I mean they
- 22:52Speaker 4: like them. Perhaps they in free sales.
- 22:53Speaker 1: They make it easier, the transaction is easier, but less
- 22:56Speaker 1: people in the store.
- 22:57Speaker 3: You know, You're right Barnes and Nobles probably looking at
- 22:59Speaker 3: Amazon saying, man, you used to do books and now
- 23:01Speaker 3: we're still.
- 23:02Speaker 4: We're the only ones who are do just books. Now
- 23:04Speaker 4: we should be big.
- 23:04Speaker 1: I am telling you I used to go to a
- 23:06Speaker 1: Barnes and Nobles on a Thursday afternoon.
- 23:09Speaker 4: It was calartic. There would be thousands of people in there.
- 23:11Speaker 4: I go there.
- 23:12Speaker 1: Now I have the whole store to myself. I mean thousands, thousands.
- 23:15Speaker 5: Yes, yeah, I'm I'm with stew If you tell me, hey,
- 23:20Speaker 5: you have an hour to kill in a store, it's
- 23:22Speaker 5: Barnes and Noble almost every time.
- 23:24Speaker 4: It would take me an hour to find the book
- 23:26Speaker 4: I'm looking for in there.
- 23:27Speaker 5: That's part of the journey.
- 23:29Speaker 4: I'm not looking for books.
- 23:30Speaker 5: I mean, why are you in there? There's normally like
- 23:33Speaker 5: a Starbucks.
- 23:34Speaker 4: There's a Starbucks.
- 23:35Speaker 5: They got a magazine section.
- 23:36Speaker 4: Yep, they have fantasy magazines. Fantasy is fantasy football. Okay,
- 23:40Speaker 4: you got to be specific.
- 23:41Speaker 1: There have Starbucks its fantasy fantasy football magazines.
- 23:44Speaker 4: The the I can't oh, the Lindy Index, I.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Think, yeah, classic they have that.
- 23:50Speaker 4: They have Starbucks, they have the Rice Krispy treats me.
- 23:53Speaker 3: Barnes and Nobles. Can't be the angry man yelling at clouds.
- 23:56Speaker 3: That is such a nonsense response from that cash registered lady,
- 24:00Speaker 3: cash registered lady.
- 24:02Speaker 4: It was missus Noble.
- 24:03Speaker 5: Yeah, I was gonna call her a librarian, but she's
- 24:05Speaker 5: not technically a librarian. She she just works at the store.
- 24:09Speaker 5: Stu PSG Bayern, Munich just went to halftime. But PSG
- 24:12Speaker 5: right before the break scored again three two three two.
- 24:15Speaker 4: That's never been done before the soccer three goals before
- 24:18Speaker 4: they have record.
- 24:20Speaker 5: Soccer is having a moment right now.
- 24:22Speaker 4: Tortured fan base. That's more goals that we'll see in
- 24:26Speaker 4: the entire World Cup soccer's having a moment.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Be sure to catch live editions of Stu Gotson Company
- 24:34Speaker 2: Live weekdays at three pm Eastern twelve pm Pacific.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Joe Shanet gonna join us the general manager of the
- 24:42Speaker 1: New York Football Giants in about fifteen minutes. We'll get
- 24:47Speaker 1: to some MBA here in just a second. Let's take
- 24:49Speaker 1: a call here eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Let's go to Dennis. Who's in Vermont today? Dennis, go ahead,
- 24:54Speaker 1: You're on Fox Sports Radio. Dennis Sam talked to me.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Please go ahead, Dennis, Yeah, go ahead, Dennis. Dennis, get
- 25:04Speaker 1: the hell out of here and never come back. He
- 25:07Speaker 1: had a take on the Kentucky Derby. Is that this
- 25:09Speaker 1: weekend horse racing is debt.
- 25:10Speaker 4: That's my take. We're still waiting around for Dennis there.
- 25:14Speaker 4: Huh could take Dennis? So is he?
- 25:23Speaker 1: The NBA playoffs continued last night the first ram. I
- 25:26Speaker 1: was up late watching Nuggets and t Wolves. That series
- 25:30Speaker 1: is chippy, I mean it really is. The Nuggets played well,
- 25:33Speaker 1: Joki played well, but the Pistons, man, I mean, this
- 25:37Speaker 1: is this is not surprising to me. It should not
- 25:39Speaker 1: be surprising. To anyone the p and Pistons stands for phonies.
- 25:45Speaker 4: Pretenders.
- 25:45Speaker 8: Yeah, so they are down now three to one to
- 25:50Speaker 8: the Orlando Magic in that series heads back to Detroit
- 25:55Speaker 8: for a game six.
- 25:58Speaker 1: But it's interesting because it's rare to see, even though
- 26:01Speaker 1: no one really believes in the Pistons, it is odd
- 26:04Speaker 1: to see an eight seed be this dominant over a
- 26:07Speaker 1: one seed.
- 26:07Speaker 3: I forget that that's what the seeding is, right, because
- 26:09Speaker 3: you go into the series and we already had our
- 26:12Speaker 3: doubts about Detroit because they spent a lot of time
- 26:14Speaker 3: without Kate Cunningham because of a punctured lung, and we're like, okay,
- 26:17Speaker 3: maybe they're not that great even if they do have
- 26:19Speaker 3: a somewhat healthy cade. But when you look at Orlando, like,
- 26:25Speaker 3: first of all, they were supposed to be better than
- 26:27Speaker 3: this to begin with, right, They were supposed to be
- 26:29Speaker 3: a team that you know, got Desmond Bain, was supposed
- 26:31Speaker 3: to be maybe a top four seed in the Eastern Conference.
- 26:34Speaker 3: So them sort of finding themselves here is you know,
- 26:38Speaker 3: convenient for them and not.
- 26:39Speaker 4: Great for the Pistons. But this was certainly a series
- 26:43Speaker 4: at the Pistons.
- 26:44Speaker 3: Especially given the way that the Magic ended the season
- 26:47Speaker 3: looked like they were supposed to win and sort of
- 26:49Speaker 3: re establish themselves as the number one seed. But the
- 26:53Speaker 3: more you watch them play, and I mean, you guys
- 26:56Speaker 3: know ten day Tony over at the LeBatard Show, like
- 26:58Speaker 3: he and I had a little but would you say
- 27:00Speaker 3: or a little just debate on Cad Cunningham because I
- 27:03Speaker 3: watched so much Kid Cunningham his rookie year because I'm
- 27:06Speaker 3: the biggest sar Thompson fans, So I was watching all
- 27:08Speaker 3: their games and that team was terrible, and Cad my
- 27:11Speaker 3: assessment of him at the time was he's just okay,
- 27:14Speaker 3: Like he's good. He's not going to be your number
- 27:17Speaker 3: one player that's going to lead you to a championship.
- 27:19Speaker 3: Obviously last year a lot of egg on my face,
- 27:22Speaker 3: a lot of it, yes, holomlet, yes.
- 27:25Speaker 4: And so it's off that by the way it is.
- 27:27Speaker 3: And so watching last night and even in the first
- 27:31Speaker 3: you know, four games of this series, I'm like, there
- 27:33Speaker 3: he is. That's the Caid Cunningham that I remember watching
- 27:36Speaker 3: all those all those games in this first season, because
- 27:39Speaker 3: he's allowing too much of the defense to dictate what
- 27:42Speaker 3: he does. Like whatever shot you allowed me to take
- 27:44Speaker 3: I'll take that shot. Some of his go to shots,
- 27:48Speaker 3: his floaters in the paint weren't there.
- 27:49Speaker 4: Like this dude, he settled for threes last night. He
- 27:52Speaker 4: took a lot of settled a lot.
- 27:53Speaker 3: He had the eight turnovers, He's had ridiculous amounts of turnovers.
- 27:56Speaker 3: He's supposed to be a bucket getter and he's just
- 27:59Speaker 3: not right. And the pressure on Kate Cunningham is different
- 28:02Speaker 3: than other guys because or some other guys, because when
- 28:06Speaker 3: you go from Caid to their number two offensive option,
- 28:10Speaker 3: it's such a huge drop stude. You know who that
- 28:12Speaker 3: is their number two offensive.
- 28:14Speaker 4: Option, Tobias Harris. That's think about that, yes, like you're
- 28:17Speaker 4: that's a bad second. It is? And how did they
- 28:19Speaker 4: get the one season?
- 28:21Speaker 3: Because Caid's been that good, the defense has been that good.
- 28:24Speaker 3: Jalen Duran is walking around like he's an embarrassing like
- 28:28Speaker 3: his lunch money got stolen, like I have no and
- 28:31Speaker 3: everybody's saying, oh, because Wendell Carter Junior is dating Angel Reese,
- 28:34Speaker 3: who Jalen Duran used to date, and now that's got
- 28:37Speaker 3: Jalen Duran in some sort of a spin cycle, and
- 28:39Speaker 3: I'm like, there's no way that man is that weak
- 28:41Speaker 3: minded that he goes from All star to a guy
- 28:43Speaker 3: who can't do anything in a playoff series. So it's
- 28:46Speaker 3: just very confusing because it's not who they've been all
- 28:49Speaker 3: season long. Cate has been way better, Jalen Duran has
- 28:52Speaker 3: been way better. And there was a stretch yesterday during
- 28:55Speaker 3: the key part of the game Stu Gotts where this
- 28:57Speaker 3: lineup Dannis Jenkins to Bias Harris, Isaiah Stewart, Duncan Robinson
- 29:03Speaker 3: and Kris Lavert Karris LeVert. That team doesn't make the playoffs,
- 29:09Speaker 3: much less a number one seed, so it's just a
- 29:11Speaker 3: very unrecognizable one seed.
- 29:13Speaker 1: So Cad had a chance last night as the superstar
- 29:15Speaker 1: of that team, as the number one guy in a
- 29:17Speaker 1: must win game, to you know, give him a game
- 29:20Speaker 1: that you would expect from your number one guy, and
- 29:22Speaker 1: he's seven of twenty three. Jalen Durn, I know you
- 29:24Speaker 1: said Tobiases is the second leading scorer on that team,
- 29:27Speaker 1: the second scoring option. I think Jalen Durn is the
- 29:30Speaker 1: second most well known players.
- 29:32Speaker 4: That should be their second option.
- 29:34Speaker 1: He should be ashamed of himself in a game that
- 29:37Speaker 1: you have to win on the road, to be outplayed
- 29:40Speaker 1: by Wendell Carter Junior.
- 29:43Speaker 4: That's an embarrassment. I mean, seriously, Jalen Durry.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Needs to be better. I don't think the Pistons win
- 29:49Speaker 1: this series. I'm guessing you think the Pistons still win
- 29:51Speaker 1: the series.
- 29:51Speaker 3: Well, Taylor can take it from here, because there is
- 29:54Speaker 3: you know, a previous playoff series where famously Orlando was
- 29:57Speaker 3: up three to one and Tracy McGrady was talking like
- 30:00Speaker 3: the series was over, and then it ended, but just
- 30:03Speaker 3: not the way Tracy McGrady was hoping it would.
- 30:05Speaker 5: Yeah, So, twenty three years ago, to be exact, the
- 30:08Speaker 5: eight seed Orlando Magic took a three to one series
- 30:11Speaker 5: lead on the one seed Detroit Pistons. The Magic were
- 30:15Speaker 5: led by Tracy McGrady. They were coached by Doc Rivers.
- 30:19Speaker 5: The Magic would blow the three to one lead, the
- 30:21Speaker 5: first blown three to one lead of Doc rivers career,
- 30:24Speaker 5: first of many. Yeah, but Stu. To get over the hump,
- 30:29Speaker 5: Orlando has to exercise their demons. I was, Sam, give me,
- 30:33Speaker 5: give me the exercising demons music.
- 30:35Speaker 4: Game of music.
- 30:38Speaker 5: All right, honeys, turn, what's up? Grab a towel, let's sweat, because.
- 30:42Speaker 4: This isn't just the what is happening.
- 30:44Speaker 5: This is exercising demons.
- 30:47Speaker 4: I get it.
- 30:48Speaker 5: We're gonna start with a light jogg in place, heal
- 30:51Speaker 5: the burn, baby you, Orlando Magic, they've been carrying baggage,
- 30:54Speaker 5: emotional baggage, years of almost years of not yet, but
- 30:58Speaker 5: not today. No, no, no oh. We're going to.
- 31:01Speaker 3: Touches, step and touch, step and touch every step.
- 31:08Speaker 5: We're shaking off a misshot goodbye bad memories. Those pistons
- 31:13Speaker 5: they're tough, they're gritty, but the Magic said, we're done
- 31:18Speaker 5: being haunted. It's our time, our time to shine. We're
- 31:23Speaker 5: going jumping jacks.
- 31:24Speaker 4: Now, jumping jackon, Reach up and reach up.
- 31:27Speaker 5: We're gonna grab that confidence. Pilo's flexing. Ye Suggs is flying.
- 31:33Speaker 5: The whole team is saying, these demons evicted.
- 31:36Speaker 4: Sweetheart, Sugs are terrible.
- 31:39Speaker 5: Now kick now, kick now, kick, We're gonna kick those
- 31:43Speaker 5: doubts out the door, faster, faster. This is what it
- 31:48Speaker 5: looks like when a team stops hoping and starts believing.
- 31:52Speaker 4: Yes. Is this inspired by Richard Simmons.
- 31:55Speaker 5: I believe a breath inhale the moment, exhale the past,
- 32:00Speaker 5: because the Magic aren't just playing basketball, they're exercising their demons.
- 32:05Speaker 4: Oh they are, and you're out of breath. Yes, just
- 32:10Speaker 4: one of the good stuff exhaled the bats Mikey.
- 32:12Speaker 1: I am so proud of him. He just brought exercising
- 32:15Speaker 1: demons to life.
- 32:16Speaker 4: This is amazing. I mean, I'm floor by all of them.
- 32:22Speaker 4: I had no idea what was coming.
- 32:24Speaker 3: I just knew that he had something on the Magic's
- 32:27Speaker 3: de ja vu, And I'm glad we talked about it
- 32:30Speaker 3: for a while because now he's got to catch his breath.
- 32:32Speaker 5: Yeah, my apple watch said, hey, you probably need to chill.
- 32:34Speaker 5: I'm probably out for the rest of the segment.
- 32:36Speaker 4: Yes, and exercise demons for too long. I should have
- 32:39Speaker 4: saw it coming. He texted me about it right before we.
- 32:42Speaker 5: Did it, and the text, the text very clearly said
- 32:46Speaker 5: very little confidence.
- 32:49Speaker 1: How do you feel now do you feel? I mean,
- 32:52Speaker 1: we got behind you, We supported it.
- 32:53Speaker 5: I mean, yeah, Mikey didn't get up out of his chair,
- 32:55Speaker 5: he didn't do one of those.
- 32:56Speaker 1: I mean, it takes a lot from Mike Yeah, exactly,
- 33:01Speaker 1: that's on you. He'd still be getting out.
- 33:04Speaker 4: I'm still leading the compliment sandwich. They're thin bread on
- 33:07Speaker 4: that sandwich. Oh my god, is he another desperate team
- 33:12Speaker 4: Last night the Denver Nuggets. They played like a desperate team.
- 33:16Speaker 4: It's you know what, it's really amazing.
- 33:18Speaker 1: I was thinking about this that Djokich has been this
- 33:21Speaker 1: bad in this series. Now, he was great last night,
- 33:24Speaker 1: and that was predictable that he would be great last
- 33:26Speaker 1: night because he's great, But he was so bad for
- 33:29Speaker 1: a three or four game stretch in that series. That
- 33:32Speaker 1: man has shot over fifty percent from the field every
- 33:36Speaker 1: month for the last eight NBA seasons, and he was
- 33:39Speaker 1: below forty percent headed into last night's game in that series.
- 33:44Speaker 1: That's how bad he has been. And when you consider
- 33:47Speaker 1: the Nuggets are the better team. The Nuggets are healthy,
- 33:50Speaker 1: they have home court advantage, and Minnesota is playing without
- 33:53Speaker 1: their best player.
- 33:54Speaker 4: It's amazing. The Timberwolves are up three too, It's incredible.
- 33:58Speaker 3: And they're probably gonna lose because they're down their best
- 34:01Speaker 3: player and Dante DiVincenzo. And I just want to add
- 34:03Speaker 3: that somehow, some way, the Orlando Magic won that game
- 34:06Speaker 3: by shooting thirty three percent and Jalen Sugs was one
- 34:09Speaker 3: of thirteen from the field.
- 34:10Speaker 4: Yes, and we've got to go to break
