  Speaker 1: Hey, y'all. You know, I want to remind everybody today

  Speaker 1: that you got to keep pressing forward, man. I know

  Speaker 1: it gets difficult out there sometimes, but you got to

  Speaker 1: keep pressing forward. There's nothing else for you to do.

  Speaker 1: The option of quitting, turning back, giving up, it cannot

  Speaker 1: be there. The thoughts can pop into your head, but

  Speaker 1: when they do, you got to pray about it. But

  Speaker 1: you got to keep pressing forward. You got to keep

  Speaker 1: it moving, man. I don't care how dark and dirty

  Speaker 1: it get for you. You got to somehow summon it

  Speaker 1: up within you to keep it moving, to keep pressing forward.

  Speaker 1: Because the only way you're going to get it is

  Speaker 1: you got to stay in the race. You know, you've

  Speaker 1: heard it said a thousand times, the race isn't given

  Speaker 1: to the swift, but to him that endureth to the end.

  Speaker 1: You got to stay with it, whatever it is. I

  Speaker 1: don't know what it is for you, but whatever it is,

  Speaker 1: you got to stay with it. Because quitting, quitting don't

  Speaker 1: may be nearer than it seems. There's a poem I

  Speaker 1: learned in college under some stressful situations. I'll just say

  Speaker 1: it like that. There is a stanza in this poem

  Speaker 1: called Don't Quit that says, Often the goal is nearer
• 1:30
  Speaker 1: than it seems to a faint and a faltering man.

  Speaker 1: And often the struggler has given up when he might

  Speaker 1: have captured the victor's cup. And he learns too late

  Speaker 1: when the night came down how close he was to

  Speaker 1: the golden crown. Now, that's just a stanza in it.

  Speaker 1: The poem is much longer than that. I know the

  Speaker 1: of encouragement. I want to show you an analogy that

  Speaker 1: I the trip down this morning when I was thinking

  Speaker 1: about something I wanted. And I was thinking, you know, okay,

  Speaker 1: if you have a job, the way you have to

  Speaker 1: do your job, your job forces you to do this.

  Speaker 1: So you can't just randomly do this on your job.

  Speaker 1: A job forces you to plan ahead a little bit.

  Speaker 1: You know, a job requires that you go through the

  Speaker 1: procedures in order for something to happen that you want

  Speaker 1: to happen. Example, you want a vacation. You have to

  Speaker 1: put in for that vacation. That's what it's called on

  Speaker 1: your job. Just put in. You may dress it up
• 3:24
  Speaker 1: some other way, but common sense. You have to put in.

  Speaker 1: You got to do that because the job requires it.

  Speaker 1: You got to put in for your vacation. If you

  Speaker 1: want a promotion and you see it posted somewhere that

  Speaker 1: we now have a position opening, you got to put

  Speaker 1: in for that.

  Speaker 2: You just can't sit back and hope they pick you.

  Speaker 1: Because they're probably going to pick the person who wants it,

  Speaker 1: who shows the initiative to go get it.

  Speaker 2: So you have to put in for a promotion on

  Speaker 2: a lot of jobs.

  Speaker 1: If you want some days off, a couple of days here,

  Speaker 1: a couple of days there, you got to put in

  Speaker 1: for that. But all of these are things that you want.

  Speaker 1: You want vacations. You want a day off here and there.

  Speaker 1: You want some promotions. If you want a raise, you

  Speaker 1: have to go in and request a raise. It requires

  Speaker 1: an action on your part, on your job. And guess what?

  Speaker 1: We've all accepted this as this is the way it's done.

  Speaker 1: You want a raise? You have to put in for

  Speaker 1: a raise. You want a raise? You got to go

  Speaker 1: in and have a meeting and take a request immediately.

  Speaker 1: So you can show your value to get the raise.

  Speaker 1: You want a vacation time? You got to put in

  Speaker 1: for that. And then they got to, they could tell you, yeah.

  Speaker 1: And then you want a promotion? Same thing. You want

  Speaker 2: Same thing. Okay.

  Speaker 1: That's the deal with your job. Well, that's the deal

  Speaker 1: with your life too. That exact picture that I painted

  Speaker 1: for you, that you're also very much aware of, that

  Speaker 1: you're very crystal clear on the rules and regulations that

  Speaker 1: you have no problem following them. The same rules for

  Speaker 1: your life. What you mean by that, Steve? You got

  Speaker 1: to put in with God. You got to put in

  Speaker 1: for what you want with God. And it's as simple

  Speaker 1: as that. You put in. You want some more of this,

  Speaker 1: some more of that. You got to put in with God.

  Speaker 1: You put in with your job. You go down there

  Speaker 1: and ask that man what you want, and you ain't

  Speaker 1: got no problem following the rules.

  Speaker 2: Well, put in with God. What you want?

  Speaker 1: What's your list? What's your request? What do you really want?

  Speaker 1: How much money are you really trying to make? Where

  Speaker 1: are you really trying to live? What kind of career

  Speaker 1: and job would you really like to have? What kind

  Speaker 1: of person would you really like to be? What type

  Speaker 1: of family are you hoping and wishing for? What's the

  Speaker 1: relationship you're looking for? What you want, you got to
• 5:35
  Speaker 1: put in for that. You got to put in. You
• 5:37
  Speaker 1: got to go to.

  Speaker 2: God and put in for that.

  Speaker 1: See, we'll follow the rules set to us up, set
• 5:42
  Speaker 1: us up and set up by us in a system.

  Speaker 1: But we simple rules are putting in for your life, man.

  Speaker 1: We don't even do that. I wish I would put

  Speaker 1: in for a job and not put in for God.

  Speaker 1: You got to be kidding me. You think this man

  Speaker 1: that has this company has more to offer to you

  Speaker 1: in terms of vacation promos and raises than God got

  Speaker 1: for you for your life? Man, you keep putting too

  Speaker 1: much faith in man. That's what's wrong with us. I

  Speaker 1: sure hope he give me this raise. I don't even

  Speaker 1: go to people with that. I go to God about it.

  Speaker 1: Then God touched them people's hearts. Then when I walk

  Speaker 1: in there, it's already done. That's how you capture this thing, folks.

  Speaker 1: It's not a magic trick. It's just a real simple understanding.

  Speaker 1: Why would you not put in with God if you're
• 6:26
  Speaker 1: going to put in on your job? That don't make
• 6:27
  Speaker 1: no sense. Where you get the job from? Where your

  Speaker 1: boss get his position from? Where did this company come from? See,

  Speaker 1: when you peel back the banana, it all make a

  Speaker 1: lot of sense, don't it?

  Speaker 2: It really does. And I'm just a common sense guy.

  Speaker 2: You know, look, I don't have the education that a

  Speaker 2: lot of people have.

  Speaker 1: But I got a sure, sure enough bunch of life experience, though. Oh,

  Speaker 1: I've been I've been getting smacked and knocked down the

  Speaker 1: majority of my life.

  Speaker 2: Oh, I may look good to you now. It looked

  Speaker 2: like he got his shine going on.

  Speaker 1: And I am grateful to God for my life that

  Speaker 1: I got now because this show ain't the one I had.

  Speaker 1: But I got news for you. It ain't the one

  Speaker 1: I thought I was going to have until I put

  Speaker 1: in for it. I ain't seen none of this until

  Speaker 1: I put in for it. And, you know, as I

  Speaker 1: saw it shaping and forming, then I said, God, could

  Speaker 1: that really be happening? I wonder if you could make

  Speaker 1: me this. Lord, I was wondering, man, could I really

  Speaker 1: have a syndicated radio show? Lord, make it happen. If

  Speaker 1: it's in your way, I'll put it in for it.

  Speaker 1: Now I'm working my tail off now because that's a

  Speaker 1: part of it. See, but then God tells you that too.

  Speaker 1: He says faith without works is dead. I'm working my

  Speaker 1: behind off, but the big thing is I put in

  Speaker 1: for it. So I got a bunch of more stuff

  Speaker 1: that I done put in for God. I can't tell

  Speaker 1: y'all what it is, but Oh Lord have mercy.

  Speaker 1: I'm putting in for all the blessings. That's due me.

  Speaker 1: If God's passing out a raise in blessings, I'm lined up.

  Speaker 1: He want to send me on a bigger vacation. I'm

  Speaker 1: lined up. He passing out extra checks down at the job.

  Speaker 1: I'm lined up because I'm putting in. Why don't you
