Transcript
- 0:06Speaker 1: Hello, my loves it is Lala Kent. I just realized
- 0:09Speaker 1: it's eleven eleven. It's gonna be a great motherfucking podcast,
- 0:12Speaker 1: especially because my guest is probably my sole sister, because
- 0:17Speaker 1: she's just as obsessed with.
- 0:18Speaker 2: All things Bravo as I am.
- 0:20Speaker 1: I have Lara Marie Shane Halls, which I just learned
- 0:24Speaker 1: is German.
- 0:25Speaker 3: Yes, you nailed it. Great job on the pronunciation genius
- 0:31Speaker 3: literal genius.
- 0:32Speaker 1: That's absolutely Shane Halls. There's no other way to say it.
- 0:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I love it too, because you were like, is
- 0:38Speaker 3: this Russian? And I was like, how does she know
- 0:41Speaker 3: that my family are Germans from Russia? You must be
- 0:45Speaker 3: a psychic or.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Can I tell you what it is? Because Schroeder it's
- 0:50Speaker 1: spelled sort of like that, the first little part the
- 0:56Speaker 1: hsh Okay. So you've accomplished a lot. Because I'm looking
- 1:03Speaker 1: at your bio. All Jessica had to say to me
- 1:05Speaker 1: was I have this girl. You have to have her
- 1:08Speaker 1: on her podcast, on your podcast because she's obsessed with
- 1:11Speaker 1: vander Pump rules, And I'm so vain that if you
- 1:13Speaker 1: tell me that, come on to my horn let's talk
- 1:16Speaker 1: about it. But you also watch all the reality TV.
- 1:19Speaker 1: But like, I'm looking at your bio, You're a New
- 1:22Speaker 1: York Times best selling author.
- 1:24Speaker 2: You have your own podcast.
- 1:26Speaker 3: I have my own podcasts. I have two podcasts. Oh shit,
- 1:29Speaker 3: well okay, technically I have four podcasts right now, only
- 1:33Speaker 3: two of them are like in season, so I have
- 1:36Speaker 3: sexy unique podcasts.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:38Speaker 3: That began as just me talking with guests about vander
- 1:42Speaker 3: Pump Rules. I'm that show has changed my life truly,
- 1:47Speaker 3: like in like very deep ways, but also it just
- 1:52Speaker 3: has been such an outlet for me. That's a whole
- 1:54Speaker 3: other story. So it started out about vander Pump, vander
- 1:58Speaker 3: Pump vander Pump Rules, and then it's expanded into talking
- 2:02Speaker 3: about like all other reality shows. So we covered like
- 2:05Speaker 3: Rock of Love, like all three seasons Rock of Love.
- 2:08Speaker 3: We covered like Lindsay Lohan's beach House, that weird MTV
- 2:11Speaker 3: one season show.
- 2:12Speaker 1: That was so weird.
- 2:13Speaker 3: We did like Gallery Girls, which was the Bravo like
- 2:16Speaker 3: throwback one season Wonder from like twenty twelve. I want
- 2:20Speaker 3: to say, wow, so we heard of that current one.
- 2:23Speaker 3: Oh my god, you need to watch it. It's like
- 2:26Speaker 3: delusional millennials in the art world good really being embarrassing
- 2:32Speaker 3: and it's incredible.
- 2:36Speaker 1: It actually sounds good and it's really good.
- 2:39Speaker 3: Really really good. So yeah, my co host carry O'Donnell
- 2:42Speaker 3: and I we now do like live shows. We just
- 2:45Speaker 3: had two Dynasty Typewriter this month, and we talk about
- 2:50Speaker 3: usually like a current season of reality TV and then
- 2:53Speaker 3: like a throwback. We did Mob Wives like recently, which.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Is why we rewatch So freaking Good.
- 2:59Speaker 3: So Good.
- 3:00Speaker 4: Talked about you popping in last week at Dynasty Typewriter,
- 3:03Speaker 4: but you couldn't. Your schedule was not allowing it. But
- 3:07Speaker 4: you're having you have another live one, right, we're going.
- 3:09Speaker 3: To have I think knock on Wood. I hope that
- 3:13Speaker 3: we're going to have like a regular show there, So.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Maybe will you please have me?
- 3:18Speaker 3: Yeah? Oh my god, I'm I felt bad asking so
- 3:21Speaker 3: last minute because I know you're busy, but I was like,
- 3:24Speaker 3: that would be a real cue to get La. La
- 3:25Speaker 3: on the stage has come to a live show before
- 3:29Speaker 3: she has she has an ariana. Shina did the splits.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Yeah, she loves to do the splits.
- 3:34Speaker 3: She dropped into a full splitz, slammed her vagina so
- 3:38Speaker 3: hard on the ground it reverberated through the whole venue.
- 3:43Speaker 3: It was an incredible moment. It was the last show
- 3:45Speaker 3: before everything shut down from COVID.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I think Sheena may like doing the splits more than
- 3:53Speaker 1: Kyle Richards.
- 3:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:55Speaker 1: Can I ask you a question, did you see Reza
- 4:00Speaker 1: on Watch What Happens Live?
- 4:01Speaker 3: I sure did, say, I sure did.
- 4:04Speaker 2: That Kyle Richards.
- 4:05Speaker 1: For my friends who don't know what I'm talking about,
- 4:08Speaker 1: Laura does obviously.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Reza from Shaws of Sunset said that.
- 4:14Speaker 1: The most overrated housewife is Kyle Richards.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Please give me your thoughts.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Where's the lie?
- 4:22Speaker 2: I agree, where's the lie?
- 4:26Speaker 3: It's a lot of go girl, give us nothing. She
- 4:29Speaker 3: brings I guess like bitchy friend group to the table,
- 4:34Speaker 3: but she's never really providing the drama. She stirs the pot.
- 4:39Speaker 3: She asks a lot of questions. Okay, but like she
- 4:42Speaker 3: could have gotten cut and I would have been happy
- 4:45Speaker 3: with Lisa. Renna stayings. I love Renna.
- 4:47Speaker 2: I love Rinna too.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Yeah, oh my god, you are my soulmates.
- 4:51Speaker 3: It makes me laugh, Like even when I know that
- 4:53Speaker 3: she's hamming it up or being kind of fake. Yeah,
- 4:56Speaker 3: it still is really funny to me.
- 4:58Speaker 2: It's so funny. I love the lips. She always brings it.
- 5:02Speaker 1: The hair is always fabulous, and she is the only
- 5:05Speaker 1: person I always say, We're not watching this show to
- 5:09Speaker 1: see a bunch of hot chicks Kumbai ya.
- 5:11Speaker 3: No, you know, I just shows to watch ladies fight.
- 5:15Speaker 3: That's what I care about the most. And on Vanderpump Rules,
- 5:18Speaker 3: like I watch vander Pump Rules to see all of
- 5:21Speaker 3: you guys fight and then to see most people's lives
- 5:25Speaker 3: being somewhat embarrassing.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Totally a little bit, right, Absolutely, That's why I watch.
- 5:31Speaker 1: There's this thing that I do and I've talked about
- 5:34Speaker 1: this before because I'm a fan but also a part
- 5:37Speaker 1: of that world. Yeah, and so when I have moments
- 5:41Speaker 1: when we're filming and someone brings out that side of
- 5:43Speaker 1: me and I'm like so mortified, I literally have to
- 5:48Speaker 1: go into like you made great TV tonight, definitely, or
- 5:52Speaker 1: else I will go home and it will not be good.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Yeah. No, And it's that I imagine is so difficult
- 5:57Speaker 3: because maybe more so now when not drinking, but I
- 6:01Speaker 3: can just imagine like drinking and like not being able
- 6:05Speaker 3: to control, like and share anything.
- 6:07Speaker 2: The Sunday scaries every morning really bad.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Yeah, but like, yeah, how do you do that? Like,
- 6:14Speaker 3: how do you do you just divorce yourself? From like, yeah,
- 6:18Speaker 3: I flipped out or said this or that, but it's
- 6:20Speaker 3: just fine and it's TV and it's like a totally
- 6:23Speaker 3: different life than how I am like day to day.
- 6:25Speaker 1: No, because I feel like the different like day to day,
- 6:29Speaker 1: if I'm not connecting with someone, I have the option
- 6:31Speaker 1: to be like I'm not kicking it with them. Yeah,
- 6:33Speaker 1: when we're filming, it's like we have a group thing
- 6:36Speaker 1: that we're doing, so like you have to come right.
- 6:41Speaker 2: So like that's absolutely how I am.
- 6:44Speaker 1: If you just like if I were to throw you
- 6:45Speaker 1: into a situation where like you weren't connecting with someone,
- 6:48Speaker 1: like you just see a different side of people when
- 6:51Speaker 1: I don't want to say forced, because we're not forced,
- 6:53Speaker 1: but at the end of the day, we're like here
- 6:55Speaker 1: to film a TV show, So you're seeing people for
- 6:57Speaker 1: who they are, but in situations that maybe they normally
- 7:01Speaker 1: wouldn't put themselves in. So I have to separate reality
- 7:03Speaker 1: from reality. Yeah, if that makes any sense.
- 7:06Speaker 3: No, that makes a lot of sense, because.
- 7:08Speaker 1: If I don't like me. Season seven, after my dad died,
- 7:12Speaker 1: calling her Quella bambe eyed bitch, telling Billy Lee she
- 7:14Speaker 1: was boring to listen to and look at almost headbutting
- 7:17Speaker 1: her calling her a hoe.
- 7:19Speaker 2: I watch that and go what I mean?
- 7:21Speaker 3: That was iconic though truly one of the A great
- 7:26Speaker 3: stand out moment, But it's hard to have your like
- 7:30Speaker 3: stand out moments on TV also be like one of
- 7:33Speaker 3: the darkest moments of your life totally or during that
- 7:37Speaker 3: period of your life.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Right during that time, it was very very dark. I
- 7:40Speaker 1: couldn't watch it now, like I will go on to
- 7:43Speaker 1: YouTube and be like this feels like I need to
- 7:45Speaker 1: watch bambyd bitch.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Yeah. No, it was good to throw.
- 7:49Speaker 4: Do you guys think just from not an outsider because
- 7:53Speaker 4: I watch Housewives, but do you think there's a a
- 7:57Speaker 4: Kyle Richard's equivalent on vander put rules? And if so,
- 8:01Speaker 4: you don't have to say who if you don't want to,
- 8:03Speaker 4: if you don't want to, like cause drama. But do
- 8:05Speaker 4: you think there is someone who like you can give
- 8:08Speaker 4: her take, like he or she could.
- 8:10Speaker 3: Go and like, are you gonna really.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Yes you do? Yeah, I ain't saying who though.
- 8:15Speaker 3: Yeah I'm not gonna say who either, But you agree
- 8:17Speaker 3: you're okay, you're a shit fucking stir.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Would be great, right?
- 8:21Speaker 4: I don't know the Kyle rich is you get her
- 8:26Speaker 4: out of here.
- 8:28Speaker 3: Okay, good to know.
- 8:29Speaker 2: You're the potster.
- 8:30Speaker 1: But I will always take you, I will never leave you.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Yes, thank you.
- 8:34Speaker 1: So, But Reza did circling back say something pretty savage,
- 8:39Speaker 1: because Kyle Richards responded to Reza being like, you have
- 8:44Speaker 1: a canceled show whatever else?
- 8:47Speaker 2: She said, I don't know.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Oh he's on Traders. Yeah, and you are the first
- 8:51Speaker 1: one and you were the first one to get kicked
- 8:53Speaker 1: off Traders that he goes, yes, he goes, I did
- 8:55Speaker 1: have a cancel. I do have a canceled show, and
- 8:58Speaker 1: I did get killed off of Traders. For but my
- 9:01Speaker 1: entire family and cast still pick up my phone calls
- 9:04Speaker 1: how's Kathy Hilton doing? And names h Kim as well,
- 9:10Speaker 1: like he went savage.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm telling.
- 9:14Speaker 2: You what those shows of Sunset cast members.
- 9:17Speaker 3: She walked herself right into that one.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Yeah, why did she do that?
- 9:20Speaker 3: You can't step to like a bitchy gay guy and
- 9:23Speaker 3: expect to live to tell the tale. Absolutely, truly, it's
- 9:27Speaker 3: a non starter.
- 9:28Speaker 1: I know, and I love her as is so much
- 9:30Speaker 1: so everything he says I co sign on.
- 9:33Speaker 3: It's really funny. But I don't know. You know what
- 9:35Speaker 3: I always used to say, and I think I still
- 9:37Speaker 3: stand by this. I think you need to be on
- 9:40Speaker 3: Beverly Hills.
- 9:41Speaker 1: Everyone, because I hear this a lot and I don't
- 9:45Speaker 1: feel like my age would allow it right now. And
- 9:48Speaker 1: I also don't have anything like super fabulous to show you, like,
- 9:52Speaker 1: come look at my three bedroom apartment.
- 9:54Speaker 3: No, they always okay. I think it's really good on
- 9:58Speaker 3: a Housewives franchise when they're there's a new young blood,
- 10:03Speaker 3: like a hot, younger housewife. I mean, you've gone through
- 10:09Speaker 3: a recent divorce separation, so that's always like juicy for TV.
- 10:14Speaker 3: And you have brands or an entrepreneur, so people like
- 10:19Speaker 3: like a kind of younger, hotter, scrappier woman to come
- 10:23Speaker 3: into the mix. And you suffer no fools, So I
- 10:27Speaker 3: think you'd really light some bitches.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Up and you could see.
- 10:31Speaker 3: The person to get Kyle off the show. I see
- 10:35Speaker 3: this for you.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Do you have to have a partner. I don't think
- 10:38Speaker 1: Kyle would ever be off the show because she really
- 10:40Speaker 1: is I mean, what's her name. Erica in the reunion
- 10:45Speaker 1: said she was the queen Beet in the sense that
- 10:48Speaker 1: she kind of is the glue that holds the whole
- 10:50Speaker 1: group together. Without her, these people wouldn't talk.
- 10:55Speaker 3: M Beverly Hills is her town after all.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Yeah right, I mean she really does have the crowd.
- 11:02Speaker 1: She's been there since day one.
- 11:04Speaker 3: But I think you could ruffle her feathers and that
- 11:06Speaker 3: I would really appretate you and she would hate me.
- 11:08Speaker 3: What No, exactly, but that's why it would be so good.
- 11:11Speaker 3: And I think, like the way I see it, if
- 11:15Speaker 3: I were a producer of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,
- 11:19Speaker 3: I would say La LA's gonna upgrade from vander Pump
- 11:23Speaker 3: Rules up to Beverly Hills and we're bringing Lisa vander
- 11:26Speaker 3: Pump back because then you have an ally. Yes, you
- 11:30Speaker 3: have someone on your side and you can both take
- 11:33Speaker 3: on Kyle.
- 11:34Speaker 1: You should pitch this to Cohen.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Honestly, like I literally give gold away for free every
- 11:40Speaker 3: single week on my podcast. I'm like, no telling people
- 11:43Speaker 3: what's good and no one cashes it in. It would
- 11:47Speaker 3: change lives. It would change everyone's lives for the better. Okay,
- 11:50Speaker 3: because you've never been like, you've kind of been above
- 11:55Speaker 3: the fray on vander Pump Rules the whole time.
- 11:58Speaker 1: That is so nice of you to say it.
- 12:00Speaker 2: I really enjoyed by the way.
- 12:02Speaker 1: I really enjoy doing reality TV and I love vander
- 12:05Speaker 1: Pump Rules so much. And I got in trouble for
- 12:07Speaker 1: saying this on Gina's podcast. And when I say this,
- 12:11Speaker 1: like I'm not minimizing what my cast has been through.
- 12:13Speaker 1: But there are things on the show, like little petty
- 12:16Speaker 1: things that made my life this year a lot easier
- 12:21Speaker 1: because I was like, I'm gonna go in and we're
- 12:22Speaker 1: gonna throw shade in like the most petty way, and
- 12:26Speaker 1: this feels good to take me out of my reality.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Like just the things that I feel like I gotta
- 12:32Speaker 1: deal with on a day to day even before this
- 12:34Speaker 1: past year just feels a little bit on a level
- 12:38Speaker 1: that I don't particularly enjoy. But it is kind of
- 12:43Speaker 1: like the drama of like, oh shit, Tom Girardi is
- 12:49Speaker 1: actually not that great of a guy, Jen Shawan not
- 12:53Speaker 1: that great of a chick, Like it does feel like
- 12:56Speaker 1: my person that I was with is that type of drama?
- 13:00Speaker 1: Does that make am I making that makes that type
- 13:02Speaker 1: of sense? I'm trying to make sense to talk.
- 13:04Speaker 3: About anybody on the Do you get to talk about
- 13:07Speaker 3: that on the show? Like get into it or they're
- 13:09Speaker 3: parameters around that.
- 13:10Speaker 2: We'll see when it's cut and edited together.
- 13:13Speaker 1: I don't I don't know.
- 13:15Speaker 2: I feel like I talked about it a lot.
- 13:16Speaker 1: There's a lot of times, like during filming where I
- 13:20Speaker 1: feel like I've spoken about things that and it usually
- 13:22Speaker 1: ends up on the chopping block, like it may be
- 13:24Speaker 1: a little too heavy for vander pump rolls, And maybe
- 13:28Speaker 1: that's just in my head.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Do you feel like the show lost the plot a
- 13:32Speaker 3: little bit in the past few seasons.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Well, why don't you tell me how you feel about that,
- 13:36Speaker 1: because I'm so in it. I'm so close to it.
- 13:38Speaker 3: I thought that seasons one through six are some of
- 13:42Speaker 3: the best television ever.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Created, So you even think through season six.
- 13:47Speaker 3: Yeah, and then you had seven, eight and nine. And
- 13:50Speaker 3: I'm also really close to it because obviously I talk
- 13:52Speaker 3: about it like for a living on my podcast. So
- 13:56Speaker 3: it started to feel like instead of me being like,
- 13:59Speaker 3: oh my god, I get to watch Banter fun Rules
- 14:01Speaker 3: and like talk about it and there's so much to
- 14:02Speaker 3: talk about and make fun of, it was like I
- 14:06Speaker 3: have to watch and I'm like just not as engaged
- 14:08Speaker 3: in the drama. I feel like it got like a
- 14:10Speaker 3: little produced or like it was like not as much
- 14:13Speaker 3: focused focusing on like the darkness in the cast members' lives,
- 14:17Speaker 3: but focusing on like too much of the positive, which
- 14:20Speaker 3: I feel bad saying, because no.
- 14:23Speaker 1: You're you are saying what as someone who's in it
- 14:27Speaker 1: and also a fan of reality TV, I watched to
- 14:30Speaker 1: see the drama. Yeah, I don't need If I wanted
- 14:33Speaker 1: to watch Kumbai Ya, I'd watch fucking Kardashians.
- 14:37Speaker 3: And I do watch that too.
- 14:39Speaker 2: I don't because all I want. The only time I've
- 14:43Speaker 2: watched is when I see those bitches fight.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Yeah, when Kim like beat Courtney's.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Out, And even then I tried to watch the full episode,
- 14:49Speaker 1: I was like, I'm just gonna watch clips.
- 14:50Speaker 3: No. Now, it's good because it's on Hulu and it's
- 14:52Speaker 3: like Drone Shots and lifeborny, so it's like it really
- 14:56Speaker 3: gives you something different. But like when the the best
- 15:00Speaker 3: Bravo shows, I think are also the ones that focus
- 15:04Speaker 3: on the darkest, most like horrific things of these people's lives. No,
- 15:09Speaker 3: I agree with you, and like that is my bread
- 15:12Speaker 3: and butt like that, I crave that. It makes me
- 15:14Speaker 3: feel safe I feel as a viewer, and it's weird,
- 15:18Speaker 3: like obviously, like I don't want your life to be
- 15:22Speaker 3: bad like person to person, No, whow. Yeah.
- 15:27Speaker 1: But by the way you saying that, I don't take
- 15:28Speaker 1: that like I want to see that for me personally,
- 15:32Speaker 1: being able to have a platform where I get to
- 15:35Speaker 1: go and share my voice and my opinions, and even
- 15:39Speaker 1: though people may disagree or think I'm a nutcase, it
- 15:42Speaker 1: feels extremely therapeutic. Like when we go into interviews and
- 15:46Speaker 1: they start asking like, where was your head at in
- 15:48Speaker 1: this moment, It's like I leave feeling like, oh my gosh,
- 15:52Speaker 1: I just had the best therapy session ever. Right because
- 15:57Speaker 1: I take out, leave it all on the floor, leave
- 15:59Speaker 1: it all out there, and I avoid the comments section
- 16:02Speaker 1: at all costs, and when people post about me, I
- 16:05Speaker 1: don't look at it because I'm like, I know this
- 16:07Speaker 1: is where the haters go. If I want to see love,
- 16:09Speaker 1: I just stay on my own page.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Yeah, yo, don't seek that shit out, no, because it's
- 16:14Speaker 3: also reached a fever pitch of insanity.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Correct.
- 16:18Speaker 3: I'm like, it's one thing to podcast. I'm like, it's
- 16:21Speaker 3: one thing to podcast about Vanda pump rules, but it's
- 16:23Speaker 3: a whole different thing to be online, Like in Reddit forums,
- 16:26Speaker 3: being like.
- 16:27Speaker 2: These people aren't getting paid.
- 16:28Speaker 3: I'm like, this is crazy. You're not monetizing. Yet you
- 16:32Speaker 3: know you're writing essay for free, like campaigning.
- 16:34Speaker 2: I know for free. I don't do shit for free.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Anyone wants to start beef with me when cameras are down,
- 16:40Speaker 1: fuck off.
- 16:42Speaker 4: I am curious, Lara, because of what you said about
- 16:45Speaker 4: season seven, eight, and nine for vander Pump Rules. After
- 16:48Speaker 4: just seeing the trailer for season ten, how.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Do you feel? I was feeling good.
- 16:52Speaker 2: I think you're gonna be really happy.
- 16:54Speaker 3: And actually, by the end of nine, the reunion served
- 16:57Speaker 3: that there was five stars. The reunion was five star.
- 17:01Speaker 3: I actually gave up on like recapping it because I
- 17:04Speaker 3: was so frustrated by that time. I was like, I can't,
- 17:07Speaker 3: like I just have to like disengage because it was
- 17:09Speaker 3: making me upset that it was bad. But I watched
- 17:11Speaker 3: season ten I was like, hell, yes, we're back.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Yeah, And that's why I keep telling people I want
- 17:19Speaker 1: because I felt like we kind of lost our footing
- 17:22Speaker 1: towards the end of seven seven we still had some
- 17:27Speaker 1: stuff going on, but it was like.
- 17:29Speaker 3: What was seven It was Jackson Brittany's wedding.
- 17:31Speaker 1: No, I think that was eight eight. It was a
- 17:34Speaker 1: lot of wedding stuff. It was brand new faces that
- 17:37Speaker 1: it just didn't make any sense.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Was that the Dana Brett.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Dana like they put a lot of I.
- 17:43Speaker 3: Think that was deeply Dana was not as confusing, but
- 17:46Speaker 3: there were a lot of there were a lot of
- 17:49Speaker 3: confusing male choices.
- 17:50Speaker 2: So can I tell you?
- 17:51Speaker 1: And I feel like I can talk about this now
- 17:52Speaker 1: because Stossi put it in her I think her her book.
- 17:57Speaker 1: But the reasoning for that was they were trying to
- 18:02Speaker 1: push a new group in because they were taking us
- 18:04Speaker 1: out and giving.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Us Vanderbium Valley or something like that. Correct.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Yeah, then COVID happened.
- 18:09Speaker 1: They were like, the whole reason we can't pick up
- 18:11Speaker 1: production is because it's based in a restaurant, and the
- 18:14Speaker 1: restaurant industry during COVID was like a whole different beast.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Then everything happened where a lot of cast members were
- 18:21Speaker 1: let Oh, so the show that we were going to
- 18:23Speaker 1: start filming was completely just squashed. But that was the
- 18:27Speaker 1: reasoning for all of these new faces. People were like,
- 18:29Speaker 1: why are these new faces like being shoved down our
- 18:32Speaker 1: throats and their storylines? Why do we care about them?
- 18:34Speaker 1: It's because they were introducing entire new Vanderpump rules and
- 18:38Speaker 1: taking us generation right, well that didn't happen. So season
- 18:44Speaker 1: nine we did what we fucking could. I mean, we
- 18:46Speaker 1: were we got that season by the skin of our teeth.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Yeah, that's tough because it also is like the kind
- 18:52Speaker 3: of thing where all that shit with the cast members
- 18:57Speaker 3: went down, and as a viewer, like I wanted to
- 19:01Speaker 3: see the aftermath.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Of that, and I felt like you should have.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Yeah, And I feel like I was like because it
- 19:07Speaker 3: was the kind of thing where everyone was riding really high,
- 19:09Speaker 3: buying houses, they're getting engaged, they're getting married. I got
- 19:13Speaker 3: into vanderpump rules like when my life was really bad,
- 19:17Speaker 3: and I watched it being like, oh my god, these
- 19:20Speaker 3: people's lives are worse than mine. This is amazing, Like
- 19:23Speaker 3: I'm given life like another reason to get up everything.
- 19:27Speaker 3: And then suddenly everyone ascends to like house buying levels
- 19:32Speaker 3: and like happiness, and I was like, hold up a second,
- 19:35Speaker 3: like this is not the show I fucking signed up
- 19:37Speaker 3: where we needed them to get knocked down at Hagger two,
- 19:41Speaker 3: And just when you thought that was happening, it just
- 19:45Speaker 3: glazed over that and was like existing in this like
- 19:48Speaker 3: neither world of totally what's going on? Yeah?
- 19:51Speaker 1: Right, I feel the same way that you feel, and
- 19:54Speaker 1: even though like it was originally, we we can't show
- 19:58Speaker 1: us working in a restaurant for ever.
- 20:00Speaker 3: You know, like it just that makes no sense.
- 20:03Speaker 1: It doesn't make any sense. We don't work there, We
- 20:05Speaker 1: don't have to work there. But I think in order
- 20:09Speaker 1: for it to make sense and for you to follow
- 20:11Speaker 1: someone's journey, like you've got to understand, like why why
- 20:17Speaker 1: are they able to afford these houses? Well, let's talk
- 20:19Speaker 1: about it. You're on a reality TV show. You're getting
- 20:22Speaker 1: paid by brands, Like.
- 20:24Speaker 3: Why don't that hustle?
- 20:25Speaker 1: Like I don't because it's not easy.
- 20:28Speaker 3: No, And I think where everyone kind of goes wrong
- 20:31Speaker 3: from a produced sorial standpoint is like thinking that the
- 20:35Speaker 3: audience is just going to be lost if it's not
- 20:38Speaker 3: taking place in a restaurant. It's like everyone fucking knows that,
- 20:42Speaker 3: Like you're not hustling for tips to like your mortgage,
- 20:46Speaker 3: Like no one actually cares about watching you guys work
- 20:50Speaker 3: at sir, Like no, they.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Care about the people for that, because if they cared
- 20:54Speaker 1: about the restaurant, the Abbey Show would have made it
- 20:57Speaker 1: on E where they were Like they basically tried to
- 20:59Speaker 1: recreate vander pump Roules based on a restaurant or a bar.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Like the cast was lightning in a bottle before I
- 21:06Speaker 1: even arrived. Right, they set the groundwork for a very
- 21:10Speaker 1: successful show, and obviously we're doing something right, even though
- 21:13Speaker 1: we're hanging on by the skin of our teeth. I
- 21:15Speaker 1: think season ten, you're going to see all of it.
- 21:21Speaker 1: It's going to take you back to old throwback vander
- 21:23Speaker 1: pump Roules. You got one person, two people that actually
- 21:26Speaker 1: live in a house, so everyone else.
- 21:30Speaker 3: And I was blown up. I was like, as a viewer,
- 21:35Speaker 3: so excited by the fact that Tom and Katie split
- 21:38Speaker 3: up because I was like saying on the pod all
- 21:41Speaker 3: asked youse. I was like, wait the whole because I
- 21:43Speaker 3: feel like the journey with her has been tough from
- 21:46Speaker 3: a viewer perspective, because I think she was made to
- 21:50Speaker 3: look like acted a certain way in that relationship that
- 21:53Speaker 3: was like kind of unpalatable. But then I started to
- 21:56Speaker 3: like put the pieces together, and I was like, wait this.
- 22:00Speaker 3: This guy has like sucked the life out of this
- 22:02Speaker 3: person for literally the entire time we've watched them on TV, right, Like,
- 22:07Speaker 3: she's got to get out of there. And I was
- 22:09Speaker 3: like campaigning for them to separate. And then they did.
- 22:13Speaker 3: I was like, thank god.
- 22:14Speaker 1: Well this is I'm excited for people to see Katie
- 22:17Speaker 1: this season because you do get to see her not
- 22:20Speaker 1: have to play a mom to her husband. You know,
- 22:26Speaker 1: like there was something when she decided like I'm doing this,
- 22:30Speaker 1: I am moving on with my life. Something changed in her,
- 22:34Speaker 1: something changed in her face. I said to her, I
- 22:36Speaker 1: was like, even your face looks different, And she said,
- 22:38Speaker 1: Chris Medina said that people would say my face looks different.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Chris Medina didn't tell me to tell her that.
- 22:43Speaker 3: I just said it.
- 22:44Speaker 1: See, he's a genius's he's fucking He's from OC. Different
- 22:51Speaker 1: guy from OC, but literally predicted my entire life.
- 22:54Speaker 2: So anyway that, Okay, I think.
- 22:56Speaker 1: You're gonna be excited for this season. I'm going to
- 22:58Speaker 1: give you all the fils.
- 22:59Speaker 3: Every time I get long long break, I'm always excited
- 23:01Speaker 3: to be back.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Hell yeah, Okay, I have to shame you for a moment.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Okay, please bring it.
- 23:12Speaker 1: On now that I've been very kind to you, How
- 23:16Speaker 1: in the world do you not watch Real Housewives of Miami.
- 23:22Speaker 3: This has been something that I've been confronting for a
- 23:25Speaker 3: long time. I just got busy with other franchises and
- 23:32Speaker 3: so many people. Literally every day now, someone's telling me
- 23:36Speaker 3: you have to watch Miami. You have to watch Miami.
- 23:38Speaker 3: And I understand that, and I know and my plan,
- 23:42Speaker 3: I have a whole plan in place to fix this
- 23:44Speaker 3: huge problem. I'm going to Japan this week and I'm
- 23:48Speaker 3: going to download all of the Miami episodes and then
- 23:52Speaker 3: watch them on my computer.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Have you ever watched No Girl? I'm judging you so hard.
- 23:58Speaker 3: I know, I know it's a real spot for me.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Most people will tell you to start on season two.
- 24:03Speaker 2: I disagree. You have to see.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Season one, okay, because it just like makes it makes
- 24:11Speaker 1: it make sense with how like deep rooted the friendships are.
- 24:14Speaker 1: For season three, it's four and five that we're on now.
- 24:18Speaker 3: Oh was it three on Bravo and then.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Three were on Bravo and then four and five are
- 24:23Speaker 1: on Peacock. Okay, this season is so spectacular. I'm like, like,
- 24:29Speaker 1: I'm pissed that it's only once a week. I'm like,
- 24:32Speaker 1: if it's on a streaming service, just drop the whole thing. Yeah,
- 24:35Speaker 1: drop it all in one. Do you watch all the
- 24:37Speaker 1: girls trip? Like Housewives girls trips? I watch everything, Okay,
- 24:42Speaker 1: the only Bravo shows I don't watch are like Southern Charm,
- 24:45Speaker 1: below Deck, basically everything that's kind of like vander Pump too.
- 24:49Speaker 3: Close to home.
- 24:51Speaker 1: It's way too close.
- 24:52Speaker 3: To home, it really is.
- 24:54Speaker 2: I'm like, wait a minute, this is a little triggering.
- 24:56Speaker 1: You need escapeism, Yeah, I need to watch like very
- 24:59Speaker 1: fat women and only women and the husband's pop in
- 25:03Speaker 1: and out.
- 25:04Speaker 3: Yeah. No, I'm upset, Like, and the thing is, I
- 25:06Speaker 3: didn't used to watch that much Bravo. Like I was
- 25:09Speaker 3: like vander Pump Rules and maybe would dip in for
- 25:12Speaker 3: like Beverly Hills or something. But then I've really ramped
- 25:16Speaker 3: it up, and now I'm like getting caught up on
- 25:18Speaker 3: everything that I've been missing.
- 25:20Speaker 2: But what about Potomac.
- 25:22Speaker 3: I'm not caught up on Potomac, all right. I came
- 25:25Speaker 3: in late to that one because it's like, I feel
- 25:28Speaker 3: like so many seasons happened in a very short period
- 25:31Speaker 3: of time, and then I got overwhelmed. I'm like, where
- 25:33Speaker 3: do I start? Like I want to start from the beginning,
- 25:35Speaker 3: but now that's like feels like one hundred episodes that
- 25:37Speaker 3: I have to watch. So I just started this recent
- 25:40Speaker 3: season and I like, I think I'm like two episodes behind.
- 25:45Speaker 1: They've always said it don't sleep on Potomac and I
- 25:47Speaker 1: have fully co side on this. It's so good.
- 25:50Speaker 2: Oh see though you've started.
- 25:52Speaker 3: Oh see, I've started. I like watched this past season,
- 25:56Speaker 3: then went back to season nine, and I've been watching
- 25:59Speaker 3: through from there, okay, And it's like a warm hug.
- 26:04Speaker 3: Like it is a warm hug. These Orange County women
- 26:07Speaker 3: just feel so safe and secure totally as a place
- 26:11Speaker 3: to just like watch. I love like their home decor
- 26:15Speaker 3: and like their fashion choices, and I like their drama
- 26:19Speaker 3: and their weird lives into it.
- 26:21Speaker 2: They live in the OC bubble.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I said to someone who lives in Orange County
- 26:25Speaker 1: the other day. Actually this was like a.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Few months ago, but there were these two women.
- 26:29Speaker 1: We were in Orange County at that party for Christmas.
- 26:33Speaker 1: There's these two girls taking a picture with Santa Claus
- 26:35Speaker 1: and I'm watching it and I'm like, this is the
- 26:37Speaker 1: craziest shit ever seen. All right, should have seen these women.
- 26:41Speaker 1: And I'm with my friend who also lives in Orange County,
- 26:43Speaker 1: and I was like, yo, Orange County is like a
- 26:46Speaker 1: fucking bubble. Well this stuck with her because when I
- 26:50Speaker 1: saw her the next time, she goes, what did you
- 26:52Speaker 1: mean by that? And I was like, if I tell you,
- 26:54Speaker 1: do you promise you won't be affected?
- 26:56Speaker 2: And she was like, I promise.
- 26:58Speaker 1: I was like, it feels like everyone hears about this
- 27:03Speaker 1: one party and it's it's like high school almost, and
- 27:05Speaker 1: it's like if you were invited, you're a cool kid.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Everyone brings out every diamond they could possibly own, drips.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Themselves with it. It's like keeping up with the Joneses.
- 27:17Speaker 1: It just feels like anything outside of this bubble y'all
- 27:21Speaker 1: can't comprehend. And she found that so strange, but her
- 27:24Speaker 1: husband was like, yeah, that's exactly what it is. Like.
- 27:28Speaker 1: You got to bring out the nicest car to roll
- 27:30Speaker 1: up to the house. Can't just take the range Rover.
- 27:33Speaker 1: We have to take like the car that was imported
- 27:35Speaker 1: from some weird fucking place and make sure you wear
- 27:39Speaker 1: every single diamond you own.
- 27:41Speaker 2: And how much was that bag?
- 27:42Speaker 1: Was that? The burkeen that was custom made and then
- 27:45Speaker 1: signed off by a fucking van Go. It's crazy and
- 27:49Speaker 1: Beverly Hills isn't like that. I don't feel like it
- 27:51Speaker 1: is that way.
- 27:52Speaker 3: I think just all their stuff is like that, So
- 27:54Speaker 3: it's not like they're it's not like they're putting on
- 27:57Speaker 3: airs to go somewhere. It's like the airs are on
- 27:59Speaker 3: twenty for the airs are just their lifestyle, right. Yeah.
- 28:04Speaker 3: But that's what I like about Orange County is it's
- 28:06Speaker 3: like everyone's really ghost and it's like they think they're
- 28:10Speaker 3: really killing it, but they don't get it. It's like
- 28:13Speaker 3: the Truman Show or something.
- 28:15Speaker 1: You're so right, But I do feel like when I'm
- 28:17Speaker 1: watching Tamra, I'm like, I'm watching like someone who. I
- 28:21Speaker 1: want to go to her house and be sick and
- 28:23Speaker 1: she'll give me soup.
- 28:24Speaker 3: Yeah, I want to sit with her, Like I really
- 28:27Speaker 3: love her workout journey was really inspiring to me. Like
- 28:31Speaker 3: I'm obsessed with obsessed I am too. And I'm ubsessed
- 28:37Speaker 3: with Vicky Gunbilson me too. She is my north star.
- 28:42Speaker 3: I love her so much. She no one makes me
- 28:46Speaker 3: laugh until I cry like Vicky and she's not even trying.
- 28:49Speaker 3: She genuinely is like Lucy O Ball level funny.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Do you know her?
- 28:53Speaker 3: No?
- 28:54Speaker 2: All right, we're planning a dinner.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Because she's one of my most favorite people. So on
- 28:59Speaker 1: the way to Bravoc and she was sitting right behind
- 29:01Speaker 1: me and I said, Hi, VICKI And I think she
- 29:03Speaker 1: thought I was just a fan, so she brushed me
- 29:05Speaker 1: off and then realized it was motherfucking La La, And
- 29:09Speaker 1: we had like an hour conversation. It felt like an
- 29:12Speaker 1: hour to the point where like the flight attendant told us, like,
- 29:15Speaker 1: you guys have to sit like we're leaving the game,
- 29:18Speaker 1: sits fucked down. Had like the longest conversation about narcissist
- 29:23Speaker 1: and that I need life insurance. Yeah, that was a
- 29:26Speaker 1: big part of it. She said that to you, yes,
- 29:28Speaker 1: and she was like.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Doing it on the airplane, trying to figure it.
- 29:31Speaker 3: Out for me. Amazing. Yeah, she is a working woman
- 29:35Speaker 3: through and through and.
- 29:36Speaker 1: She like she loves to talk about but she don't work.
- 29:39Speaker 1: You don't work to earn a paycheck. And then she
- 29:40Speaker 1: does the hands Yeah you don't bring home money, she.
- 29:43Speaker 3: Will help you financially plan your entire life. Like that's
- 29:46Speaker 3: I just I love it. I love that she's built
- 29:49Speaker 3: a business literally from like her home office into the
- 29:53Speaker 3: behemoth that is Codo Insurance.
- 29:55Speaker 1: And they're everywhere now at all, Like I.
- 29:58Speaker 3: Know, Yeah, and she's still is just like so funny.
- 30:02Speaker 2: She's so funny.
- 30:03Speaker 1: And also if one more dude breaks her heart, I'm
- 30:08Speaker 1: coming for them.
- 30:09Speaker 3: Yeah, what are.
- 30:11Speaker 1: You offering you freaking scrub you got Vicky gun Wilson,
- 30:16Speaker 1: all right, stop moving into her house, eating her food,
- 30:19Speaker 1: enjoying her freaking Mexico vacation home.
- 30:23Speaker 3: She needs to learn a little bit of self love.
- 30:26Speaker 3: I think that would take her really far. But it
- 30:28Speaker 3: also is extremely relatable to see her kind of fall
- 30:31Speaker 3: into the same trap with men over and over.
- 30:34Speaker 1: I wont know. What's amazing is that she admits that
- 30:35Speaker 1: she's like, I don't want to be alone. I know
- 30:37Speaker 1: I love companionship. Like she doesn't pretend. She's like I
- 30:41Speaker 1: who tell me this person as long as they'll move
- 30:44Speaker 1: in and be with me every day, that's who I want.
- 30:45Speaker 3: Yeah, she's her love tank full.
- 30:48Speaker 1: She needs her love tank full.
- 30:50Speaker 4: I don't understand that though, because from an outsider looking in,
- 30:53Speaker 4: I see someone like VICKI or you, or just these
- 30:57Speaker 4: single women that sometimes are with not settling, but they're
- 31:01Speaker 4: with these people where I'm like, you could get anyone?
- 31:04Speaker 4: Is it just being safe? Do you guys, like, do
- 31:07Speaker 4: you think they like like someone like Vicky? She's like,
- 31:09Speaker 4: this person is known, so I trust them because I
- 31:12Speaker 4: feel like you guys could get anyone.
- 31:14Speaker 2: But there's so.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Much like the men I love a scrub you do. Yeah,
- 31:18Speaker 1: I'm like, you don't have a car. You don't have
- 31:20Speaker 1: a Yeah, you drive without a license? Ding ding ding.
- 31:25Speaker 2: We have a winner?
- 31:26Speaker 3: You like a project? Is it?
- 31:28Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 31:29Speaker 1: Is that?
- 31:29Speaker 3: It? Is it a project thing?
- 31:31Speaker 1: Maybe I think I need a lot of therapy.
- 31:33Speaker 3: Therapy helps a lot. The child is like with therapy too.
- 31:39Speaker 3: Because I've been in therapy for a long time and
- 31:41Speaker 3: I've been single for a long time. You start to
- 31:44Speaker 3: see that, like every relationship fits like a very specific
- 31:49Speaker 3: pattern that you repeat over and over and over, even
- 31:52Speaker 3: if they look like even if they don't on their
- 31:55Speaker 3: face look like it is that pattern.
- 31:57Speaker 2: It kind of is shows itself over time.
- 32:01Speaker 3: Yeah, and you just like start to uncover all these
- 32:05Speaker 3: like patterns that you repeat based on a lot. Like
- 32:08Speaker 3: usually I think it's like childhood trauma or like.
- 32:11Speaker 2: But that doesn't make it.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Because I had like my childhood. It at home was amazing.
- 32:19Speaker 1: My dad was fucking phenomenal. Their relationship was phenomenal. So
- 32:23Speaker 1: I don't understand what this is. Yeah, maybe I was
- 32:28Speaker 1: exposed to crazy TV too young.
- 32:31Speaker 3: Maybe TV or like if you had trouble in school
- 32:35Speaker 3: or like in young social situations, like there's always something.
- 32:39Speaker 3: There's always great thing about life is there's always something
- 32:42Speaker 3: that will really fuck you up. That's why they say
- 32:44Speaker 3: it make you're paid for it.
- 32:45Speaker 4: Yes, your kid will always be fucked up somehow if
- 32:47Speaker 4: you're too good of a parent and too perfect, and
- 32:50Speaker 4: that's going to fuck them up because they're got their expectations.
- 32:52Speaker 2: They're all going to have their own set of issues.
- 32:53Speaker 4: It's going to be everything.
- 32:55Speaker 3: Yeah, Like someone will come into your life and like
- 32:57Speaker 3: fuck it up somehow totally. The situation will happen and
- 33:00Speaker 3: like it'll just like fuck you up and you'll learn
- 33:03Speaker 3: some way of coping that then becomes like a negative
- 33:06Speaker 3: pattern that repeats itself over and over, and then you
- 33:09Speaker 3: address it and feel the feelings and move through all
- 33:12Speaker 3: these stages of grief and then you kind of move
- 33:15Speaker 3: on and you're a little bit different now because.
- 33:18Speaker 2: Right, do you have a boyfriend she's single? Are you
- 33:21Speaker 2: single by choice?
- 33:23Speaker 3: I'm yeah, I've been single by choice for a while.
- 33:25Speaker 3: Like I got so busy with like building up all
- 33:31Speaker 3: my podcast stuff that I do that that just became
- 33:36Speaker 3: like my full time relationship and it was like working
- 33:39Speaker 3: for myself. And so I'm kind of just coming out
- 33:41Speaker 3: of that place now where I'm like, I really want
- 33:45Speaker 3: like a partner and someone that I feel like is
- 33:48Speaker 3: a real companion.
- 33:50Speaker 1: I love that.
- 33:51Speaker 4: Are you opposed to dating comedians? Because I know you're
- 33:53Speaker 4: a comedian, and I always find it interesting when female
- 33:56Speaker 4: comedians are like, I'm not ever dating a comedian.
- 33:58Speaker 3: I'm not a post to it. But they have to
- 34:03Speaker 3: be funny to me, Oh okay, Like I couldn't date
- 34:06Speaker 3: someone who even if like everyone thinks they're so funny,
- 34:11Speaker 3: but they don't make me laugh, Like, it's not gonna work.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Do they have to think you're funny?
- 34:17Speaker 3: Well, I am funny, so they wouldn't.
- 34:20Speaker 1: They wouldn't not you are funny.
- 34:22Speaker 3: They wouldn't not, And if they did, I'd be like,
- 34:25Speaker 3: I guess this isn't a good match, or you don't
- 34:27Speaker 3: really see me.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Or something you don't have a good sense of humor.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I relate.
- 34:33Speaker 1: I mean, I'm not a comedian, but I think if
- 34:35Speaker 1: you don't think I'm funny, it's not gonna work. Because
- 34:38Speaker 1: I haven't been single in a really long time. But
- 34:40Speaker 1: when I was, which was in my early twenties, I
- 34:43Speaker 1: would try to stifle just my sense of humor and
- 34:46Speaker 1: things that I thought were funny and things that I
- 34:47Speaker 1: wanted to say that I thought were funny, and I
- 34:49Speaker 1: would just try to be like this cool chick that
- 34:51Speaker 1: I watched on TV, and.
- 34:54Speaker 2: It was like suffocating.
- 34:56Speaker 3: Yeah, so it is.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Interesting to like be single in your thirties where it's like, Okay,
- 35:02Speaker 1: I know who I am, but I'm kind of like you.
- 35:06Speaker 1: I mean, back when I was young, I never like Brittany.
- 35:09Speaker 1: She always knew I want to get married. She was
- 35:11Speaker 1: planning her wedding from the time she was a little kid.
- 35:15Speaker 1: Always wanted to be a mom. I didn't really think
- 35:17Speaker 1: that way. I knew I wanted to be a mom,
- 35:18Speaker 1: but I never thought about a partner. It was always like,
- 35:22Speaker 1: I just want to be successful and have businesses like
- 35:25Speaker 1: that was what I wanted to be married to. And
- 35:27Speaker 1: I think that's what we're really focused on this year.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Because Chris Medina said to me, he said, I don't
- 35:34Speaker 1: want you dating right now, but he said, your guides
- 35:38Speaker 1: told me not to tell you that you can't date right.
- 35:40Speaker 3: Now because then you'll do it. Any you'll do it.
- 35:42Speaker 1: So I just want to give you a little bit
- 35:45Speaker 1: of advice, but do what you want. I don't think
- 35:49Speaker 1: you should date right now because chances are you're going
- 35:51Speaker 1: to attract the same type of guy. You got to
- 35:53Speaker 1: do some self work, so that makes sense. Your therapist
- 35:55Speaker 1: is basically the same as Chris Medina.
- 35:57Speaker 3: Yeah, basically. I mean she also does like a trology stuff,
- 36:00Speaker 3: to which I'm a little bit like, sometimes I like it,
- 36:04Speaker 3: but then sometimes I'm like, we're here to talk, like,
- 36:07Speaker 3: let's not bring that, let's not bring the stars into
- 36:10Speaker 3: this just right now, Let's like focus on feelings.
- 36:13Speaker 1: You wait, I'm going to get her number from what's
- 36:17Speaker 1: your sign?
- 36:18Speaker 3: Laura? I'm a Gemini, I'm a double Gemini, Leo Rising.
- 36:24Speaker 2: This is everything. Do you know what your moon is?
- 36:26Speaker 3: Gemini and Moon? Yeah, Leos. There's a lot going on.
- 36:34Speaker 1: A lot.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Before I let you go, can we please talk about
- 36:40Speaker 2: Salt Lake?
- 36:40Speaker 3: Yes?
- 36:41Speaker 2: How do you feel about it?
- 36:43Speaker 3: I've had a tough time with this season. I feel
- 36:45Speaker 3: like it's dragged out for so long. They've taken a
- 36:49Speaker 3: lot of breaks, which I'm like, can we keep it moving?
- 36:52Speaker 3: Keep it moving? Jen Chaw's taking me on a roller coaster.
- 36:58Speaker 3: I think I start out this season being like justice
- 37:01Speaker 3: for Jen. She does not deserve to be incarcerated, but
- 37:05Speaker 3: then when she started throwing people's shoes off of the boat,
- 37:09Speaker 3: I was like, oh, that way, Well, she needs to
- 37:11Speaker 3: maybe go to jail just for a month or two,
- 37:14Speaker 3: because you really shouldn't be doing that. And then I yeah,
- 37:18Speaker 3: And now I'm like, I'm just so saddened for her
- 37:21Speaker 3: family by this situation that it almost makes it hard
- 37:26Speaker 3: to watch because You're just like, this is so bleak.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Well because I feel like when kids are involved and
- 37:33Speaker 1: they had no say in the matter, and like you
- 37:35Speaker 1: just you just did shit without even thinking about them,
- 37:40Speaker 1: you know, because and I'm not throwing any shade at her,
- 37:44Speaker 1: I'm just saying me and how I go about life
- 37:47Speaker 1: having a kid, Like everything that I do, I think
- 37:52Speaker 1: about oshit, yeah, like how could this impact her? And
- 37:56Speaker 1: there's a lot of things, like as simple as doing
- 37:58Speaker 1: this podcast right now, I'm literally sitting here going what
- 38:01Speaker 1: have I said on this? What have I said in
- 38:02Speaker 1: the past that she could at some point read and go,
- 38:06Speaker 1: oh my god, why did she do all of those things?
- 38:08Speaker 1: Why did she say those things? Why couldn't she shut up?
- 38:11Speaker 1: But then on the flip side, I think I hope
- 38:14Speaker 1: that if she goes through things that's at some point
- 38:17Speaker 1: in her life, which she will that she never feels
- 38:20Speaker 1: like she has to be quiet, So it's a weird.
- 38:23Speaker 1: It's like a strange I'm wondering if Jen was like,
- 38:25Speaker 1: I'm providing for my family, like I came from nothing,
- 38:28Speaker 1: so I don't I don't give a damn, like I
- 38:31Speaker 1: will make sure my kids have an incredible life, and
- 38:33Speaker 1: I don't care who I have to affect. I'm just
- 38:36Speaker 1: trying to understand how she could do those things.
- 38:40Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I think you probably don't think about it
- 38:45Speaker 3: as it's happening that much because if you were focusing
- 38:48Speaker 3: on all the people that you're hurting, chances are it
- 38:51Speaker 3: would make you not want to like be like defrauding.
- 38:55Speaker 2: Unless you're a narcissistic sociopath.
- 38:57Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know, and I don't know where the
- 38:59Speaker 3: season can go without.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Her, And that's what I'm curious to hear your thoughts
- 39:03Speaker 1: on because I'm a little worried for Slake.
- 39:06Speaker 2: I don't saw her.
- 39:07Speaker 4: She is doing that that she exclusive with and no,
- 39:11Speaker 4: she shut it down.
- 39:12Speaker 2: She did.
- 39:13Speaker 1: She did when she shut it down like a few
- 39:15Speaker 1: days ago, but it's not happening. She said something in
- 39:18Speaker 1: the contract would not allow her to share her side
- 39:22Speaker 1: of things the way she feels like they should be shown. Oh,
- 39:25Speaker 1: because she posted a photo of her and glam or something. No,
- 39:28Speaker 1: and then she posted another thing that says that the
- 39:31Speaker 1: one on one is not happening anymore.
- 39:33Speaker 2: Wow, So that's off the table. But I just wonder
- 39:36Speaker 2: because she's captivating.
- 39:38Speaker 3: She is, and she makes good TV.
- 39:41Speaker 2: Even before this shit happened.
- 39:42Speaker 3: Yeah, like she was bringing something to the table and
- 39:45Speaker 3: like Heather, I think is like a flop. I think
- 39:49Speaker 3: she this season. I was so pissed off about the
- 39:52Speaker 3: like black eye thing and how cagy she's been about that.
- 39:55Speaker 3: Where do you think it was like botox? Like, what
- 39:58Speaker 3: do you think happened to her?
- 40:00Speaker 2: I think someone did it?
- 40:01Speaker 3: Really do you think Jen did it?
- 40:03Speaker 1: I'm not going to say who I think did it,
- 40:05Speaker 1: but I'm going to if I were on the show,
- 40:06Speaker 1: I would obviously say who, say who I think did it? Yeah,
- 40:10Speaker 1: I've heard, like I follow this account and they were
- 40:14Speaker 1: saying like she hit a faucet. I've heard from people
- 40:19Speaker 1: behind the scenes that.
- 40:21Speaker 2: That story is not true and someone did that to her.
- 40:26Speaker 4: Why would she not come out and say who? For
- 40:28Speaker 4: a million reasons, I'm assuming it was on a cash trip.
- 40:31Speaker 2: It could only be someone from the cast.
- 40:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that that's what happened to And.
- 40:36Speaker 1: How how do you hit a faucet and have scratch
- 40:38Speaker 1: marks all over your body? No, I think unless you
- 40:40Speaker 1: hit the faucet and fell into a rose bush.
- 40:42Speaker 3: Yeah. I think it was like a fight or some
- 40:45Speaker 3: sort of thing like joking around that maybe turned into
- 40:49Speaker 3: a fight, or just like someone flipped the switch, got
- 40:52Speaker 3: really angry and instead of because of the sensitivity of
- 40:59Speaker 3: the whole situation, right, it was like, don't worry about it,
- 41:03Speaker 3: nothing happened, We're not going to talk about it, and
- 41:06Speaker 3: like it's not a thing just to production, which I
- 41:10Speaker 3: think is also crazy.
- 41:12Speaker 1: Tell us, I feel like keep going.
- 41:13Speaker 3: Well, I feel like if someone hit someone else on
- 41:16Speaker 3: a reality TV show, there's like insurance, like behind the scenes,
- 41:21Speaker 3: just like liability. Shit that has to happen.
- 41:23Speaker 2: Well, I will tell you.
- 41:23Speaker 1: On vander Pump Roules, we get physical. There are repercussions, Yeah,
- 41:28Speaker 1: heavy repercussions. And if that were to happen on Vanner
- 41:33Speaker 1: Pump Rules, there's no way we would get away with not.
- 41:35Speaker 2: Being able with not saying who it was. Well, no,
- 41:37Speaker 2: there would be repercussions for that too.
- 41:39Speaker 1: Yeah, we have to talk about everything.
- 41:41Speaker 3: That's what I also don't like is like when Housewives
- 41:46Speaker 3: aren't held to that same standard.
- 41:49Speaker 1: I feel like they can do that because these women
- 41:52Speaker 1: have been successful for a really long time and we're
- 41:55Speaker 1: thrown onto a TV show. Whereas our cast they were
- 42:00Speaker 1: like waitresses. We were waitresses and hostesses and things like that,
- 42:05Speaker 1: and then we experienced this level of like notoriety and
- 42:09Speaker 1: we had all moved to LA for this reason.
- 42:12Speaker 2: Whereas housewives it's like.
- 42:13Speaker 1: We accomplished everything we wanted to and now you want
- 42:16Speaker 1: to follow me around and watch me be successful.
- 42:18Speaker 2: So it is there's like a difference.
- 42:21Speaker 3: Bravo needs them more than they need Bravo.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Right, They're like, I don't need you. I've been successful
- 42:26Speaker 1: since before this show.
- 42:28Speaker 2: Yeah, we would never get away with.
- 42:29Speaker 3: Not talking about absolutely not.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Do you feel like Jen's sentence was fair or do
- 42:33Speaker 1: you think she deserved more time?
- 42:35Speaker 3: I think it was, I guess as fair as it's
- 42:38Speaker 3: gonna get. I'm just I'm really torn when it comes
- 42:41Speaker 3: to like punishing. I'm really torn when it comes to
- 42:45Speaker 3: like sending people to jail. Like I just I don't
- 42:47Speaker 3: think like I think there are other ways that she
- 42:51Speaker 3: could pay back her community or be more of service
- 42:55Speaker 3: to people, or like I'm selfishly also stay on the
- 43:00Speaker 3: show and like not affect her sons and family, Like
- 43:06Speaker 3: I just I really do believe like if you're if
- 43:10Speaker 3: the only reason you should go to jail is if
- 43:12Speaker 3: you're like a violent offender and a threat to society.
- 43:15Speaker 1: Even if someone took your entire life savings.
- 43:17Speaker 3: No, I'd want them to rot in prison.
- 43:19Speaker 2: Yeah she did that.
- 43:20Speaker 1: I watched they started interviewing people that she affected, and
- 43:25Speaker 1: this woman is like, I can I don't even know
- 43:27Speaker 1: how I'm gonna put food on the table because she
- 43:30Speaker 1: took everything from me. Is she court ordered to pay
- 43:34Speaker 1: it back?
- 43:35Speaker 3: Yes, Okay, that's hard, She's got to do that.
- 43:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:38Speaker 1: While the judge asked, and again this is just what
- 43:41Speaker 1: I saw online. Someone was live tweeting, and the judge asked,
- 43:45Speaker 1: how are you going to pay this back? Do you still?
- 43:47Speaker 2: Are you still on the show? And this is not quotes,
- 43:52Speaker 2: it's just along these lines.
- 43:53Speaker 1: And she said yes, but it was like X amount
- 43:57Speaker 1: of millions, and as a reality TV personality like I
- 44:01Speaker 1: could not afford to payback multimillions. No, there's no way
- 44:05Speaker 1: in my contract.
- 44:07Speaker 3: I thought Bravo cut ties with her.
- 44:09Speaker 2: They did. She wasn't even allowed at Bravo con.
- 44:11Speaker 3: Yeah, so you think that was a lie that she
- 44:14Speaker 3: was Like, yeah, and she's a liar. But also it's
- 44:18Speaker 3: like people need to be more educated about finances and money.
- 44:25Speaker 1: And that's why they target elderly.
- 44:28Speaker 3: I know we need to send the elderly to like
- 44:30Speaker 3: a learning annex class to you should host it? Yeah,
- 44:34Speaker 3: do not give anyone your information?
- 44:37Speaker 1: Should we start a podcast that is for the elderly
- 44:39Speaker 1: that teaches them certain things where like if this person
- 44:43Speaker 1: calls you, if Amazon says they can't find your info
- 44:45Speaker 1: and someone hacked your account, don't give it to them.
- 44:48Speaker 3: Yeah, call one eight hundred La La and Lara will
- 44:52Speaker 3: tell you whether or not to engage and.
- 44:54Speaker 4: Have VI on Vicky could give he would give really
- 44:58Speaker 4: good advice.
- 45:00Speaker 2: God, I had the best time ever with you too.
- 45:02Speaker 3: Thank you so much for having me.
- 45:04Speaker 2: You're so welcome. Where can people find you?
- 45:06Speaker 3: Okay, you can find me a lot of places. I'm
- 45:10Speaker 3: on Instagram at Lars Marie and you should definitely listen
- 45:14Speaker 3: to Sexy Unique podcast. We talk a lot about real
- 45:17Speaker 3: Housewives of Salt Lake City Bander Pump Rules forthcoming, And
- 45:23Speaker 3: you should listen to my other podcast called two Niche
- 45:27Speaker 3: I host with my friend Elizabeth, and we actually did
- 45:31Speaker 3: an episode recently. We do a lot of trend halls
- 45:34Speaker 3: on that podcast, and like we did a whole celebrity
- 45:37Speaker 3: owned non alcoholic beverage brands.
- 45:41Speaker 1: Oh my gosh.
- 45:42Speaker 3: He tested a ton of them and actually found out
- 45:46Speaker 3: that Katie Perry's brand to Swap was the best one.
- 45:50Speaker 2: Really. M h wait, I'm going to I'm going to
- 45:52Speaker 2: give you some Starla.
- 45:53Speaker 1: Will you please try?
- 45:54Speaker 3: Yes? I was hearing you talk about that and I'm dying.
- 45:57Speaker 3: I Also, we did a two parter episode sparkling Water okay,
- 46:01Speaker 3: and like taste tested all these different ones, and I
- 46:04Speaker 3: know you're a sparkling water head, and I have to
- 46:08Speaker 3: tell you I'm a Pellegrino girl, and I also love Perier.
- 46:12Speaker 3: But the Airwan sparkling water is so fucking good, Okay,
- 46:17Speaker 3: And it almost gets you like a little high when
- 46:21Speaker 3: you drink it. Wow, It's like there's something there, doacebo
- 46:25Speaker 3: something the water. I'm telling you, it's the best sparkling water.
- 46:28Speaker 1: All right, I'm gonna try it, yeah, and then we're
- 46:30Speaker 1: gonna talk about this because when they don't have perier,
- 46:32Speaker 1: if they have pellogrino, I'm like, okay, that's fine.
- 46:35Speaker 3: Yeah, but I do love and I think it's a
- 46:38Speaker 3: power move and I think it makes people think you're
- 46:41Speaker 3: very successful when you order a bottle of sparkling water
- 46:44Speaker 3: for the table.
- 46:45Speaker 1: Oh every day.
- 46:46Speaker 2: Yeah, so there we go.
- 46:48Speaker 1: Successful check. I done made it all right, you're the best.
- 46:53Speaker 1: Thank you all for listening to another episode of a
- 46:55Speaker 1: Give Them La podcast. I love you so much and
- 46:57Speaker 1: I will catch you next week.
