- 0:00SPEAKER_01: Welcome everyone to Vegas Revealed episode 27.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: Elvis is back in the building, but this time with some new technology, and he's got us old Juco.
- 0:13SPEAKER_01: Wait to hear our interview with Elvis himself.
- 0:16SPEAKER_01: It's pretty good, guys.
- 0:17SPEAKER_01: Plus, another Las Vegas Hotel Casino opens on the strip with a very Vegasy flair.
- 0:24SPEAKER_01: We got a lot coming up on Vegas Revealed.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Thanks for being here on Vegas Revealed.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Okay, I'm not doing any more uh Elvis impersonations.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: I'll leave that to the pros.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: Oh my goodness.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: I thought it was excellent, really.
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: Viva Las Vegas, I tell ya.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: Hey, welcome everyone.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: We're actually uh having a little lunch at Donna Maria's right here on Las Vegas Boulevard near downtown Las Vegas.
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: We just wrapped up uh some taco salads.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: They were pretty good, huh?
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: Oh, they were delicious.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: Get the shredded beef on the taco salad.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: It was I had to eat the whole thing.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: It was so good.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: I ate most of the shell, too.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: That's how I am.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: By the way, it's Dana Roselli and Sean McAllister, and we're on episode 27 of Vegas Revealed already, and we are loving what we have to talk about today.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: We have an interview with Elvis at the Graceland Wedding Chapel to talk about these new virtual vow renewals are doing.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: It's pretty cool, and we had a lot of fun with him, so that's coming up here in just a minute.
- 1:33SPEAKER_01: But first, we want to talk about another hotel opening on the strip.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so well uh Elvis is spreading the love with these vow renewals.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: Uh Bally's Las Vegas is spreading the love by reopening its doors to gamers and uh visitors.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: And it was a very Vegas opening.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: They had showgirls out there who are dressed up in some of the original uh Jubilee costumes.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: Jubilee, of course, is a big showgirl review, long-running show over there at at Bally's.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: And it a couple years ago, and everyone's always been saying we need it back, but it was nice to see them out there, that's for sure.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: But another hotel casino opening, um, and so far things have pretty much stayed open on the strip.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: It's very slow.
- 2:18SPEAKER_01: I have popped over there a couple times for business, and it's definitely slow, but you know, we're open here in Las Vegas.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: But something, um, Sean, that you were talking about is that you were seeing that some folks were over at the Westgate Sportsbook because baseball started, and I was like, oh yeah, finally a reason to go to the sports book, right?
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and uh the Westgate, of course, has the the super book over there with massive screens.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: It's a huge sports book, so plenty of room to social distance over there, too.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: But people are excited that there's finally sports to watch.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: Again, baseball has uh picked back up.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: We have uh the Golden Knights, who are gonna be playing an exhibition game this coming Thursday against Arizona, so hockey is getting uh back onto the ice, and uh the Raiders are also getting into uh you know their their summer training, and we have the stadium that's nearing completion here on the Las Vegas strip, the Allegiance Stadium.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's gonna be nice to to talk about sports, watch sports again.
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: You know what?
- 3:21SPEAKER_01: Like if you can watch it on TV at least, at least uh people are excited to do something different, you know.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: I just keep hearing everyone's just wanting some different things to do.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: It's just getting so mundane.
- 3:33SPEAKER_01: But yeah, and I I just love seeing the chatter on social media about a topic other than COVID-19.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I have been so excited for the Golden Knights to start up hockey again.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: It's good.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: I mean, the way that this town rallies around the hockey team is it's really something special, and they've been uh putting Facebook live streams out uh of the Golden Knights practice sessions.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: Um so it's been good to see the guys back on the ice in a practice capacity, but to see them actually out there playing and representing Las Vegas, that's gonna be uh a great thing.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: So that's that's what this week has in store.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: We are happy about that.
- 4:17SPEAKER_01: And in unrelated Vegas News, Taylor Swift dropped an album as well.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: That was something different to talk about.
- 4:24SPEAKER_01: But anyway, listen, we are um interviewing Brendan Paul coming up, okay?
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: He has, I don't know what you call it, played Elvis, impersonated Elvis.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: He's brought Elvis's likeness back to life for the past quarter century.
- 4:41SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's really one of the best.
- 4:43SPEAKER_01: And we stopped by the Graceland Wedding Chapel to talk with him.
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: He's gonna play some tunes as well.
- 4:48SPEAKER_01: You gotta stick around for this interviewing.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: They are doing virtual ceremonies, and he just performed the world's first ever virtual Zoom ceremony, and we're talking about, you know, with an Elvis.
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: So this is cool.
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: Stick around for this.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: Viva Las Vegas.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: Thanks for listening to Vegas Revealed.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: As always, we appreciate you, and we want to hear from you too.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: We have a lot of ways that we can hear from you.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: And one of them is going to our website, Vegas-Revealed.com.
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: There we've got video clips, we have articles, also all our podcasts are listed.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: But we also have an email there that you can just click on.
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: It's called ideas at vegas-revealed.com.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: You can write us and let us know what you want us to talk about.
- 5:35SPEAKER_01: We want to hear from you.
- 5:37SPEAKER_01: But we also love the reviews, Sean, that's for sure.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: Click on those little stars, as many of them as you can, and also go down below and uh write up a quick review, what you like about the podcast, and uh maybe even what you'd like to hear.
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we always appreciate that.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: It really helps if you could subscribe and review us, especially on Apple Podcasts.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: It really helps just, you know, have us show up in some of the search engines.
- 6:02SPEAKER_01: So we appreciate you.
- 6:03SPEAKER_01: We thank you for listening.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: And if you could take a moment and do that, we would love it.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: Also, again, check out our website, Vegas-Revealed.com.
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: All right, we are back, and no, Sean and I are not getting married.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: It kind of looks like we are, though.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: It does.
- 6:16SPEAKER_01: But what an honor to be in the Graceland Wedding Chapel.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: This is pretty incredible.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: You know, Vegas is known for its weddings.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: And we're joined by the king.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: Look at this.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: Elvis is in the building.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: Brendan, how's it going, man?
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: Fantastic.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: We love it.
- 6:31SPEAKER_01: You guys are doing the world's first ever virtual Elvis wedding ceremonies.
- 6:37SPEAKER_03: Correct.
- 6:37SPEAKER_03: We just started yesterday.
- 6:38SPEAKER_03: We launched with our first one, and it was a huge success.
- 6:41SPEAKER_03: So we're we're thrilled that we can.
- 6:43SPEAKER_03: I mean, you deal with what you have, you know, the times this is what people can't come here, we'll bring it to you.
- 6:49SPEAKER_03: The king will come to your computer.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: Well, and so this is kind of the next evolution in uh Vegas weddings because the chapel we're standing in, the Graceland Wedding Chapel, is uh the place where uh Elvis officiated Vegas weddings began.
- 7:04SPEAKER_03: Correct.
- 7:05SPEAKER_03: Yeah, now a lot of c uh chapels will try to mimic this success and try to do their own versions, but we've always done it.
- 7:11SPEAKER_03: Uh we did it first and we did it the best.
- 7:12SPEAKER_03: So people they do come back here for that, you know.
- 7:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and well, and it's keeping up with the theme of first, uh, like Sean mentioned.
- 7:19SPEAKER_01: So, I mean, you guys are the first to do a lot of things when it comes to Elvis.
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: Talk about the reaction you get when you do these ceremonies.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: I mean, you're just perfect, Brendan.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: Really, I love it.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: You're one of the best Elvises.
- 7:31SPEAKER_03: I've been doing this 25 years, so I'm lucky, but um, yeah, people just get so excited.
- 7:35SPEAKER_03: I mean, we get huge Elvis fans that come in here and sometimes they say this was our my dream to have a wedding, even though it goes 20 years ago we got married and we couldn't afford Vegas.
- 7:44SPEAKER_03: We live in the UK and they go, so I told my husband on our 20th anniversary we're going to Vegas and we're gonna renew our vows with the king and do what we always wanted.
- 7:51SPEAKER_03: So you know, that's where we come in and they just go crazy.
- 7:53SPEAKER_03: And it's so exciting to see the people, and they're huge Elvis fans too.
- 7:58SPEAKER_03: They'll sometimes when I'm singing down the aisle, I they're looking at me, but I can tell they're not really looking at me.
- 8:03SPEAKER_03: They're they're like, and sometimes a bride will cry and it's um I say, is the singing that bad?
- 8:08SPEAKER_03: No, but I you know she'll say, You don't understand since I was a little girl, I wanted to marry Elvis, so to have you walk me down the aisle and sing, she goes, it's overwhelming and it's touching, you know.
- 8:18SPEAKER_03: Oh, it is.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: That's really cool.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: And so now anybody around the world can be married by you.
- 8:26SPEAKER_03: Correct, without even coming here.
- 8:27SPEAKER_03: And the cool thing is we they can they can have a hundred guests, so that's a hundred computers watching from around the world, like the one we did yesterday.
- 8:35SPEAKER_03: People all over the UK were uh tuned in as well to watch it happening live, and you know, they're singing along and whatnot.
- 8:41SPEAKER_03: And uh so you a hundred computers, ten people, that could be you know, a thousand people watching your wedding, as opposed to a room like this that normally could hold 40, you know what I mean?
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: And want to make clear is vow renewals, which is basically renewing your vows and and redoing the wedding that you had.
- 9:01SPEAKER_03: And come back to Las Vegas and come in and do it the right way.
- 9:04SPEAKER_03: But if some people don't want to wait, you know, some people at first thought, oh, this is gonna be a two or three-month thing, and now people are going, hey, we can't put our love on hold, if you will, you know.
- 9:12SPEAKER_03: So they're like, let's just do this and have a ceremony to to celebrate right now and then deal with the legality later if the if it's a legal marriage.
- 9:20SPEAKER_00: And for a lot of people, that ceremony and the celebration is really what they're going after, correct.
- 9:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's what they want.
- 9:26SPEAKER_03: So, you know, when we launched it now, we have another one coming up, and I think it's gonna start to really uh to to build, you know.
- 9:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and well, and I was gonna say, not only uh is it you and and and obviously the people who are renewing the vows, but they can have their friends join in to watch too, right?
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 9:42SPEAKER_03: Everyone can w zoo uh tune in and watch it.
- 9:45SPEAKER_03: So that's a that's the the one of the greatest things about it, that everyone can just kind of be there, if you will, you know, without coming to Las Vegas.
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 9:53SPEAKER_01: I mean that's cool because before a lot of times, even when people got married in Las Vegas or renewed their vows in Las Vegas, you could only have the people that came to the ceremony, but now yeah, they'd always say to me, Elvis, at the end of the ceremony, can you say ahead of my parents?
- 10:04SPEAKER_03: They couldn't come.
- 10:05SPEAKER_03: They're elderly back in the UK, they're big fans.
- 10:07SPEAKER_03: So now it's like they're there, they feel like they're there, you know.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 10:11SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 10:11SPEAKER_01: And Bon Jovi got married here back in the day, right?
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: Correct, yeah.
- 10:15SPEAKER_03: Crazy.
- 10:15SPEAKER_03: And he's come in over the years.
- 10:16SPEAKER_03: His brother got married here uh a number of years ago, and then he'll pop in.
- 10:20SPEAKER_03: His daughter one day, I'm I'm I'm walking around, they go, some girl's looking for you outside.
- 10:25SPEAKER_03: She said her dad's name is on the sign out front.
- 10:27SPEAKER_03: I'm like, What?
- 10:28SPEAKER_03: So I go out back and she's in the car.
- 10:30SPEAKER_03: She goes, Elvis, hi, I'm Stephanie Bon Jovi.
- 10:33SPEAKER_03: My dad and mom got married here.
- 10:34SPEAKER_03: I was like, Oh, she I go, come in.
- 10:36SPEAKER_03: But she was so sweet.
- 10:37SPEAKER_03: She goes, I'm headed on a cross-country trip with my friends and from LA to back to New Jersey.
- 10:42SPEAKER_03: She goes, We just wanted to stop in.
- 10:43SPEAKER_03: And so I said, Come in.
- 10:44SPEAKER_03: We took pictures, it was real nice.
- 10:46SPEAKER_03: And then we ran into John, he goes, Hey, my daughter I heard was in there last week and you were real nice to her.
- 10:50SPEAKER_03: Thank you.
- 10:50SPEAKER_03: It was but you know, they're great for our business.
- 10:53SPEAKER_03: People actually, a lot of people will get married here because John got married here.
- 10:57SPEAKER_03: So it's cool.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: That's so cool.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: I mean, that's obviously an attraction to get people in here.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: Vegas has for decades been the wedding capital of the world.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: I imagine that you do see some unusual things over the years at these weddings, too, right?
- 11:15SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 11:17SPEAKER_03: We've seen everything, actually, you know.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: A lot of laughter.
- 11:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:20SPEAKER_03: I mean, I had a couple ones.
- 11:21SPEAKER_03: We were waiting for the minister to come in.
- 11:23SPEAKER_03: I said, so I'm making small talk.
- 11:24SPEAKER_03: I go, how long you guys been together?
- 11:26SPEAKER_03: And he looks at his watch.
- 11:27SPEAKER_03: I'm going, what?
- 11:28SPEAKER_03: He goes, I don't know, about what do you think, honey?
- 11:30SPEAKER_03: Two, two, three hours?
- 11:31SPEAKER_03: I said, No, I mean, how long have you been a couple?
- 11:33SPEAKER_03: He's like, Yeah, two or three hours.
- 11:35SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 11:36SPEAKER_03: So they they, but you know, people go, Do you think that marriage lasted?
- 11:40SPEAKER_03: I said, in my mind, I believe they all last.
- 11:42SPEAKER_03: You know, we don't know about the when they call call Monday morning to get an annulled.
- 11:46SPEAKER_03: We're not part of that.
- 11:47SPEAKER_03: We just do the love part.
- 11:49SPEAKER_03: You know, that's right.
- 11:51SPEAKER_03: We did our job.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: On the right side of the relationship.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:55SPEAKER_03: We got them when it was all going good.
- 11:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 11:57SPEAKER_03: We had a fellow once in the in the front lobby, we used to have pictures of couples on the wall.
- 12:00SPEAKER_03: So he walks in and I don't glance, but he goes, Oh my God, we're on your walls.
- 12:04SPEAKER_03: So I said, I just kind of glanced.
- 12:05SPEAKER_03: I said, Oh, you're here to renew your vows.
- 12:07SPEAKER_03: He's like, No, no, that was my first wife.
- 12:09SPEAKER_03: I said, You're bringing your new wife to the he goes, I love this place.
- 12:13SPEAKER_03: I said, and then I turned to her and she kind of shrugged.
- 12:16SPEAKER_03: I said, You're very understanding to come to the chapel where your husband got married the first time.
- 12:22SPEAKER_03: And on the way out, I said, Look, sir, you come back a third time, it's on the house.
- 12:25SPEAKER_03: And he goes, I might take you up on that.
- 12:27SPEAKER_03: And then she's hitting him on the way out the door.
- 12:30SPEAKER_03: I was like, Whoa, you know, that's that was an interesting one.
- 12:33SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh, I love it.
- 12:35SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 12:35SPEAKER_01: And you play guitar and you're excellent, and you sing and you do the whole night.
- 12:39SPEAKER_01: Can you sing a little montage or diddy for us?
- 12:42SPEAKER_03: This is one of our most popular love songs during a wedding from the movie Blue Hawaii.
- 12:46SPEAKER_03: It goes like this.
- 12:49SPEAKER_02: Why's men say only fools ra shin.
- 13:01SPEAKER_02: I can tell falling in love with you.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: A perfect song for the setting inside the Graceland Wedding Chapel, right?
- 13:19SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: So if people are interested in uh these vow renewals and uh ceremonies, yeah, uh, how do they go about signing up, getting involved so that they can go right to our website and then you'll just see the link there to book a wedding, and it will give you the choice of the virtual wedding or booking for the future.
- 13:37SPEAKER_03: Because so many couples had were on the books.
- 13:39SPEAKER_03: We were getting thousands of cancellations every day because people were as as things got pushed back, especially with our biggest market is the UK and Germany and France.
- 13:48SPEAKER_03: We get so many people.
- 13:49SPEAKER_03: So these people are going, I can't believe this.
- 13:51SPEAKER_03: We were looking so forward to it, you know.
- 13:54SPEAKER_03: But uh, so now they can they can click on that and say, let's do that.
- 13:57SPEAKER_03: And I believe we can uh do we get a credit they give a credit for something?
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, oh that's cool.
- 14:05SPEAKER_01: What is it 50% on the future?
- 14:07SPEAKER_03: On the future, yeah.
- 14:08SPEAKER_03: Uh so that they can so they can still do this and then say, but when things lighten up, when we come back and we do it, so we're not like you know, you're not gonna pay twice, we'll say, yeah, give you a break, a little discount.
- 14:17SPEAKER_03: That's awesome.
- 14:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you gotta change with the times.
- 14:20SPEAKER_01: I mean, it's you know, and it's funny when it's standing here with you.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: I think that a lot of people through the years, the last few years, have talked about like the Elvis is kind of going away from Las Vegas, but it's so refreshing to see you and you doing it so well.
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 14:32SPEAKER_03: We've we've do more than like I said, I've been doing Elvis 25 years in this town, and uh I'm we're doing more before the pandemic, of course, than I had ever done.
- 14:40SPEAKER_03: The weddings were going up and up.
- 14:41SPEAKER_03: I think what it is, it's a combination of combining the it's the wedding capital of the world and the entertainment capital of the world.
- 14:47SPEAKER_03: So that's where we combine, and people associate Elvis with Las Vegas, so it's like two for one.
- 14:52SPEAKER_03: It's and it's not just a wedding.
- 14:53SPEAKER_03: People afterwards go, oh my gosh, this was like a little show, you know, because there's humor and and shtick and all this fun stuff.
- 14:59SPEAKER_03: And I don't take myself too seriously because you can't.
- 15:03SPEAKER_03: I mean, sharing another guy's hairdo for life, you know, it's a weird thing.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so is that your hair?
- 15:07SPEAKER_01: That's my hair.
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's your hair.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: It's not a wig.
- 15:10SPEAKER_01: This is a good thing.
- 15:11SPEAKER_03: I wish I wish I could take it off.
- 15:14SPEAKER_03: I mean, it's not my real hair color.
- 15:15SPEAKER_03: During the pandemic, I grew up beard and I came in completely white.
- 15:18SPEAKER_03: I was like, whoa, my kids go dad.
- 15:21SPEAKER_03: I said, Who knew?
- 15:22SPEAKER_03: Yeah, dyeing my hair and keeping it like this for so long.
- 15:25SPEAKER_03: I was a little shocked myself.
- 15:27SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh.
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: Is it hard to keep the jump?
- 15:30SPEAKER_01: The jumpsuit is precious.
- 15:31SPEAKER_01: Do you use it?
- 15:31SPEAKER_01: Dry clean, special treatment, all that.
- 15:33SPEAKER_03: Yeah, it's um actually, if you dry clean them, they'll mess it up and it'll come back missing stone.
- 15:37SPEAKER_03: So you actually have to hand wash in cold water and drip dry, because otherwise the dry cleaners will just go and come back and you'll be like, where's half the stone?
- 15:46SPEAKER_03: So it's it's a lot of work.
- 15:48SPEAKER_03: But these are and these are replicas because all the suits I have are actual replicas of the suits elvis wore.
- 15:52SPEAKER_03: I think this one was about 3,000.
- 15:54SPEAKER_03: So they're not cheap.
- 15:55SPEAKER_03: Some uh some I have are five and six thousand each, the different, you know, more elaborate, but wow.
- 16:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think they melted down a trans M for this one.
- 16:02unknown: Yeah.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: See, the the laundry side of the Vegas Elvis is something that we never hear about.
- 16:10SPEAKER_03: Correct.
- 16:11SPEAKER_03: It's I know.
- 16:12SPEAKER_03: Sometimes when I have dye on my hair, someone delivers something in the door, and I'll dye on my eyebrows, it looks awful, it looks like shoe polish.
- 16:19SPEAKER_03: I open the door in the mail, man.
- 16:20SPEAKER_03: I was like, whoa! I said, It ain't pretty, sir.
- 16:24SPEAKER_03: Behind the scenes, it ain't pretty.
- 16:25SPEAKER_03: But when I'm all done up, it's it's it's fine.
- 16:28SPEAKER_03: Oh my gosh.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: Do people come up to you all the time and be like, thank you, thank you very much.
- 16:31SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 16:31SPEAKER_03: I was at Taco Bell, matter of fact, a couple weeks ago, and I uh I the guy gives me my change and I go, Oh, thanks.
- 16:37SPEAKER_03: And he's like, What?
- 16:38SPEAKER_03: And he's holding the change and I'm holding my hand down, I go, thanks.
- 16:41SPEAKER_03: He's like, No, and I'm like, What?
- 16:44SPEAKER_03: I go, You're you're gonna give me the money?
- 16:45SPEAKER_03: He's like, and if I do, you're gonna say, what?
- 16:48SPEAKER_03: And I just go, and then they hit me, I go, thank you, thank you very much.
- 16:52SPEAKER_03: He's like, Oh my god, he made my day.
- 16:53SPEAKER_03: And he was just he was waiting for it.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: I said, Okay, you know, cute to get give me my change and a tip on top of it.
- 17:01SPEAKER_03: You're right, that's funny.
- 17:03SPEAKER_03: And sometimes I'll be in a supermarket and I'll walk out and I hear a guy over the thing, Elvis has left the supermarket, you know.
- 17:09SPEAKER_03: And I just turn around and wave, and everyone, the cashiers are laughing.
- 17:12SPEAKER_03: But it's I mean, I never knock it or take it for granted because um the alternative was getting a real job.
- 17:18SPEAKER_03: So the fact that I've made a living in this town for 25 years and uh is like I never someone wants a picture, I'll be eating with my kids.
- 17:26SPEAKER_03: I see someone taking a picture, I'll go up and go, You want a photograph?
- 17:28SPEAKER_03: Oh, we're so sorry, we're tourists.
- 17:29SPEAKER_03: We just love Elvis.
- 17:30SPEAKER_03: I said, look, I'll get up, I'll take pictures, whatever you want, because I never want to have to go back to what I did before.
- 17:37SPEAKER_03: You know, I was in college for 11 years.
- 17:39unknown: Yeah.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh.
- 17:41SPEAKER_01: Elvis of life.
- 17:42SPEAKER_01: But I love too.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: I did I attended a wedding here, my friends Rob and Nicola got married, and when you came in, do you the reaction when you come in is like the room lights up, right?
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: That's a good feeling to make people happy.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: That's what I mean.
- 17:53SPEAKER_03: That's what I tell people like my kids.
- 17:54SPEAKER_03: I said, look, if you can get a job in life where at the end of your shift people cheer and tell you how great you are, I go, that's a really like uh uh an amazing thing, right?
- 18:03SPEAKER_03: That's my job.
- 18:04SPEAKER_03: I don't go in and I mean this is a a wedding chapel.
- 18:07SPEAKER_03: This I tell the the people that are coordinators, this is like their happiest day, whether it's their fifth, happiest day, because it's wife number five.
- 18:14SPEAKER_03: It's still their fifth, it's their happiest day.
- 18:16SPEAKER_03: And so everyone's like celebratory, you know, we we're not in the taxes business or uh you know a funeral home.
- 18:21SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 18:22SPEAKER_03: We're people are coming here going, this is awesome.
- 18:24SPEAKER_03: And when people leave, they go, We we're bringing our parents back next year for their anniversary.
- 18:28SPEAKER_03: This is just they don't know what to expect, you know.
- 18:30SPEAKER_03: Sometimes people go, we thought it was gonna be cheesy.
- 18:33SPEAKER_03: I go, oh, it's cheesy, but it with a romantic touch, if you will.
- 18:36SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 18:37SPEAKER_03: And and like I said, if you if you're having fun with it and you're in on the joke, it's not some guys taking themselves so seriously.
- 18:43SPEAKER_03: Some of these elvises, I've known them all in this town for 25 years.
- 18:46SPEAKER_03: I walked up, we did a thing once at 20 Elvises, and they go, We need you guys to come in on bikes.
- 18:51SPEAKER_03: And when Elvis goes, uh Elvis never rode a bike in a jumpsuit.
- 18:55SPEAKER_03: I turned to him, I said, You're not Elvis, dude.
- 18:58SPEAKER_03: Get on the bike, they're paying you, or get on the bike.
- 19:01SPEAKER_03: I said, Where's my bike?
- 19:02SPEAKER_03: I'll ride a bike, I'll I'll juggle, I don't care, you know what I mean?
- 19:04SPEAKER_03: It's a it's a job and it's a fun job.
- 19:07SPEAKER_03: So who's gonna knock it?
- 19:08SPEAKER_00: Well, you have people cheering and clapping for you here inside the Graceland Wedding Chapel, and now you have them cheering and clapping for you all around the world as you uh bring these virtual ceremonies to them.

- 19:35SPEAKER_03: Thank you very much.
- 19:37SPEAKER_00: Vegas Revealed is back after this.
- 19:45SPEAKER_00: All right, it's time for Dana and Sean's tips.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: And uh, Dana, this is a travel-related tip, okay?
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: So um uh right now, airlines are really lowering their fares to try and entice people back onto planes, get them traveling again.
- 20:02SPEAKER_00: So, therein lies my tip.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: Set some alerts on whether it's uh Google flights or some travel apps um for some specific destinations that you would like to travel to.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: And when you see really great fares pop up, go ahead and book them because right now a lot of airlines are offering some really generous cancellation policies that will allow you to keep your credit and use it at a future date, sometimes into 2022.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: I know I had a a flight that was booked cross country um for uh the beginning of August, canceled that, it was with Southwest, and I have until uh the fall of 2022 to use that credit.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: So now's the time to find good airfare, uh book it, cancel, and use the credit later.
- 20:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you just gotta kind of like stay on top of your game, right?
- 20:54SPEAKER_01: Just remember you gotta cancel, gotta do that, but you know what?
- 20:56SPEAKER_01: A lot of us have a lot of time, and so it's good to browse around, save money, plan for the future, and and do all that.
- 21:02SPEAKER_01: Um something across uh the lines of um m saving money is this small business thing they have going on with a lot of credit cards.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: I have an American Express, and they sent me a little alert saying, you know, you can send this to your card, and it basically supports small businesses, shop small business.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: You spend a certain amount of money, I think ten dollars for every ten you spend, you get five back.
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: And I've noticed um I keep seeing the credits on my card.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: I ate at Skinny Fats locally here, got ten bucks back, ate at a restaurant at Lake Las Vegas, got five bucks back.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: Now we just ate at Donna Maria's, and I'm sure I'll get money back as well.
- 21:35SPEAKER_01: So it's about supporting small business, and American Express is giving you back um cash.
- 21:40SPEAKER_01: And I think a lot of other credit cards are doing this too.
- 21:42SPEAKER_01: So look for it because sometimes you need to tap the activate button and it activates it and then it just picks up as you buy.
- 21:49SPEAKER_01: But but great, great thing for encouraging everyone to shop small.
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: Well, and that's another thing to look into with uh credit cards.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: Now could be one of the best times to look at all of the deals and options that your credit card has that you may not have taken advantage of before.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: Now could be a good time to really get the most out of the money that you spend with your credit card and uh get those rewards back.
- 22:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, no, definitely a good idea.
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: Sometimes we just look over the we're you know, we were so busy, life was so busy that sometimes you just like look overlook it.
- 22:21SPEAKER_01: You know, I don't have time to send this to my car, but now is a good time to find some some savings deals, that's for sure.
- 22:27SPEAKER_01: Um we did have a delicious lunch here at Donna Maria's.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: This has been here a long, long time, and they are known for their tamales.
- 22:32SPEAKER_01: So if you guys like tamales and you're visiting Las Vegas, you gotta come to Donna Maria's.
- 22:38SPEAKER_01: It's so good.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: They are known for it, and a lot of times they even, I think, book up around the holidays.
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: They sell out for orders for deliveries to home.
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so you gotta book early.
- 22:47SPEAKER_01: But if you're visiting and you're looking for some old school Mexican, this is the place.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: So kind of in the the downtown area, so definitely uh check it out right on Las Vegas Boulevard.
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: Uh thanks for being here with us, episode 27 of Vegas Revealed with a little bit of Elvis.
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: A hunk of hunk of burning love.
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: Thank you.
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: Thank you very much for joining us.
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: Have a great week.
