1. High-speed train crash near Urda, Toledo
At least 68 people have died and dozens are injured after a Renfe high-speed train carrying 378 passengers hit the back of an Iryo train that was stopped on the Madrid–Seville line near Urda, in Toledo, on Wednesday morning. The first findings point to a computer failure that knocked out the LZB signalling system over more than 60 kilometres, followed by a control-centre decision to let trains restart despite a red signal.
