- 0:10Speaker 2: To the favorites live on youtube presented by draft kings
- 0:14Speaker 2: the crown is yours i'm brandon kravitz joined by the
- 0:17Speaker 2: first lady kendra middleton a disaster in week two for
- 0:21Speaker 2: quarterbacks across the league a disaster for our betting card
- 0:26Speaker 2: and we will get to that in a moment receipts
- 0:29Speaker 2: we got those cash crash clutch a word from the
- 0:33Speaker 2: oracle evan abrams and a Monday Night Football SGP that
- 0:38Speaker 2: you can tail or fade per your choosing coming up
- 0:42Speaker 2: in a bit as well. Not our best showing, Middleton.
- 0:46Speaker 1: I am so beyond ready to eat some crow on
- 0:49Speaker 1: this episode, but I said this to you in our
- 0:51Speaker 1: pre-show meeting. I do feel a little bit better that
- 0:54Speaker 1: all I saw on the internet was complaining about how
- 0:57Speaker 1: bad of a weekend everybody else had, unless your name
- 0:59Speaker 1: is Evan Abrams.
- 1:01Speaker 3: So you know what? At least I'm not eating crow
- 1:03Speaker 3: alone today.
- 1:05Speaker 2: I want to give you so much shit today and
- 1:07Speaker 2: I will give you some, but I was not much better. So, um, it's, uh,
- 1:15Speaker 2: I at least won something. You're correct about that. Shout
- 1:18Speaker 2: out to the Browns. Uh, quick checkup on the draft
- 1:21Speaker 2: Kings contest. Yeah, I know. And I should have taken
- 1:24Speaker 2: their money line too. Um, it's ugly two and three
- 1:27Speaker 2: last week. We went one and four. We had the
- 1:31Speaker 2: chargers minus six and a half, not even close. Chiefs
- 1:35Speaker 2: minus six and a half. They won an overtime by three.
- 1:38Speaker 2: They should have lost the game. Jags plus two and
- 1:41Speaker 2: a half. I got bullied into that one. I did
- 1:43Speaker 2: individually take the Broncos money line and I won that
- 1:46Speaker 2: bet too. Steelers plus five and a half. I think
- 1:50Speaker 2: our read was right on that. I don't regret the
- 1:52Speaker 2: read on that one. Like I regret some of these
- 1:55Speaker 2: other ones.
- 1:56Speaker 1: That's how I feel about my Ravens bet, which I
- 1:58Speaker 1: was going to talk about this in a moment. I
- 2:00Speaker 1: have another thing that I can have as a big takeaway,
- 2:04Speaker 1: but I, I need to wait for Dr. Chow to
- 2:07Speaker 1: come on before I make picks. I know I'm going
- 2:09Speaker 1: to lose some value, but I really was unsure about
- 2:13Speaker 1: Zay Flowers this weekend, took a gamble early and it really,
- 2:18Speaker 1: I think, bit me in the ass. I think I
- 2:19Speaker 1: had a good read on the Ravens to start, but
- 2:21Speaker 1: just we'll get to the injuries and everything. But that is,
- 2:25Speaker 1: that's one thing that I thought I had a good
- 2:27Speaker 1: read on.
- 2:27Speaker 2: And wow. Well, shout out to Chow. And it's something that,
- 2:32Speaker 2: I would recommend everybody go and look at is at
- 2:36Speaker 2: six score.com and you can sign up using the code action.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Give us some extra love on that. Um, they, there
- 2:42Speaker 2: are scores for each team, how much the other team
- 2:47Speaker 2: is benefiting from their opponent's injuries. And if you use
- 2:51Speaker 2: that to your advantage and your handicapping, if you go through, um,
- 2:55Speaker 2: the hit rate on that is pretty crazy. Now you've
- 2:58Speaker 2: got to be willing to wait. You have to be
- 3:00Speaker 2: willing to wait. Cause he's not releasing that until much
- 3:02Speaker 2: later in the week. I tend to bet earlier in
- 3:04Speaker 2: the week. So I like to look at that for
- 3:05Speaker 2: my post game analysis personally, but based on the way
- 3:09Speaker 2: week two, week one and week two have gone, I'd
- 3:11Speaker 2: probably be better off waiting. So maybe we'll revisit some things,
- 3:15Speaker 2: but look, you don't want to throw the baby out
- 3:17Speaker 2: with the bathwater. As they say, we're not going to
- 3:19Speaker 2: completely take whatever our process is, crumple it up and
- 3:23Speaker 2: throw it in the trash. But again, when you lose
- 3:25Speaker 2: you got to reevaluate things it doesn't mean you have
- 3:27Speaker 2: to change things but it doesn't mean you have to
- 3:29Speaker 2: reevaluate things to wrap on the contest browns plus eight
- 3:33Speaker 2: and a half you're welcome on that that was.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Our one win crazy that that is the one thing
- 3:38Speaker 1: out of all of this dude gun to my head
- 3:41Speaker 1: i would have played roulette with this and i would
- 3:43Speaker 1: be a dead woman i'm like multiple times yeah seriously
- 3:48Speaker 1: why were there four bullets out of the chamber how
- 3:50Speaker 1: did that even happen.
- 3:53Speaker 2: You gotta prove it to me. I gotta see evidence.
- 3:56Speaker 2: I'll show you the receipts. You don't believe me?
- 3:59Speaker 4: I have the receipt for it right here!
- 4:02Speaker 2: I've got some receipts for you. I believe the text read,
- 4:05Speaker 2: Oh my God, you fake MF-er. I'll keep it PG
- 4:08Speaker 2: for production. is what the text said in our group chat.
- 4:13Speaker 2: That was in regards to Gifford and I, our producer,
- 4:16Speaker 2: talking about taking the Denver Broncos against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 4:21Speaker 2: The Jags have won nine straight regular season games. It
- 4:24Speaker 2: felt like, you know, you can feel when the bubble
- 4:28Speaker 2: is about to burst and the bubble was always gonna
- 4:31Speaker 2: burst in Denver. Come on. The Broncos aren't that bad.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I actually have a lap that I would like to
- 4:40Speaker 1: take because yesterday, did the offense look really bad in
- 4:43Speaker 1: the second half? Yeah, but it was a defensive just
- 4:47Speaker 1: pants crapping by the Jags defense. 17 unanswered. I don't
- 4:52Speaker 1: know what Campanile was doing, but I got slaughtered on
- 4:56Speaker 1: Twitter on Thursday night because I said the Jaguars could
- 4:59Speaker 1: have had Aiden Hutchinson and And Jags fans came for
- 5:03Speaker 1: my throat.
- 5:03Speaker 3: I'm sorry.
- 5:04Speaker 1: Where was Trayvon Walker yesterday? Where was Josh Heinz Allen?
- 5:08Speaker 1: I get that they have probably the best line in football,
- 5:13Speaker 1: but you guys are both first round picks who did
- 5:16Speaker 1: absolutely nothing yesterday.
- 5:17Speaker 3: I need both of you to live up to those contracts. Ridiculous.
- 5:21Speaker 2: So I thought Bo Nix outplayed Trevor Lawrence as well.
- 5:24Speaker 3: I would give you that.
- 5:25Speaker 2: 9.3 yards per play.
- 5:29Speaker 3: I've given up on the kid.
- 5:31Speaker 2: This is now the second year in a row where
- 5:34Speaker 2: we've got major drop issues. And that was on him.
- 5:37Speaker 2: That's not on Sertan.
- 5:39Speaker 1: My Jags group chat has been saying him for Marvin
- 5:42Speaker 1: Harrison Jr. straight up, who says no. And I honestly
- 5:46Speaker 1: really don't hate it. I just don't think the cards
- 5:48Speaker 1: would do it.
- 5:49Speaker 2: We'll give you our trash. Can we take your trash, please?
- 5:53Speaker 4: Yes.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Trash trade. I am very curious to see. I haven't
- 5:57Speaker 2: seen any of the advanced numbers on Travis Hunter yet.
- 6:01Speaker 2: and how much of Jalen waddle went off in this game,
- 6:05Speaker 2: what the matchup data was and all that stuff. We'll
- 6:08Speaker 2: probably learn more about that throughout the course of the week.
- 6:10Speaker 2: You know, once the, the real sickos start to watch
- 6:13Speaker 2: the all 22, but that, that is something that I'm
- 6:16Speaker 2: curious about. Cause with the idea was the Jags defense
- 6:19Speaker 2: was going to be improved. Cause now they've got a
- 6:21Speaker 2: corner that can lock down. And Wada was not locked down.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Bo Nix recorded his fifth career win when trailing by
- 6:28Speaker 2: double digits at any point. So, I mean, at least
- 6:30Speaker 2: you had that. You had your moment where the Jacksonville
- 6:33Speaker 2: Jaguars were up by a bunch.
- 6:35Speaker 1: The other thing that I had yesterday was as much
- 6:38Speaker 1: as I ate crow on yesterday's slate, miraculous things for
- 6:43Speaker 1: my futures.
- 6:45Speaker 2: That was, you know, it's funny that you say that
- 6:46Speaker 2: because that was the only, as I'm walking my Jackson
- 6:50Speaker 2: this morning, the only solace I could take and how
- 6:54Speaker 2: awful an NFL betting weekend it was, was that a
- 6:57Speaker 2: lot of the things that we've discussed for months seem
- 7:01Speaker 2: to be coming to fruition. Packers under, um, or even
- 7:05Speaker 2: more so the bucks under, um, At eight and a half,
- 7:08Speaker 2: the Steelers look like trash. We kind of said that
- 7:11Speaker 2: that was going to happen. Brown's over.
- 7:13Speaker 3: The card's over.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Not just the Raiders over. We have the Raiders going
- 7:18Speaker 2: to the playoffs on this podcast, and they're 2-0 right now,
- 7:22Speaker 2: taking on a Saints team. That's one of the more
- 7:24Speaker 2: fascinating games. The Chargers sucking another one. So, you know,
- 7:29Speaker 2: I think we kind of need to do this for ourselves,
- 7:31Speaker 2: for our own mental well-being is to we save the
- 7:36Speaker 2: good receipts, too, is to is to remember the good
- 7:39Speaker 2: times that we have had in giving out what will
- 7:42Speaker 2: look to be winners.
- 7:43Speaker 1: I'm sorry for our pick-em. I guess we both have
- 7:46Speaker 1: had bad weeks. And now we can just throw it away.
- 7:49Speaker 3: We're humble.
- 7:51Speaker 1: We are once again kumbaya-ing and holding hands into next
- 7:55Speaker 1: week in good faith.
- 7:57Speaker 2: The only way through this is as a unit. And
- 8:01Speaker 2: as I said, I would give you more shit. But
- 8:03Speaker 2: the picks that I wanted to get into the contest
- 8:05Speaker 2: were the Cardinals. They didn't even come close to covering.
- 8:08Speaker 2: I tried to make a case for Atlanta Cardinals. between
- 8:12Speaker 2: their two quarterbacks they couldn't put together a quarterback rating
- 8:16Speaker 2: north of 35 so I have really not much ground
- 8:20Speaker 2: to stand on now you went from jagging off to
- 8:24Speaker 2: Jackson off are you still a Lamar Stan after he
- 8:27Speaker 2: wet the bed in the second half against New Orleans.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Yeah, I am. I don't remember which game.
- 8:35Speaker 1: I asked you about this last week, but I think
- 8:38Speaker 1: it might have been the Saints. I don't know who
- 8:40Speaker 1: it says more about once again this week in this game.
- 8:44Speaker 3: I don't know who this week was.
- 8:48Speaker 1: I was hoping to learn who is who and who's
- 8:50Speaker 1: real and who's not. But I think I'm more confused
- 8:52Speaker 1: than I was last week. And now I'm more confused
- 8:55Speaker 1: about both of these teams.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Yeah, we've got some we've got some 0 and 2s
- 9:00Speaker 2: later on in the pod that we need to discuss.
- 9:03Speaker 2: We'll get the trends with Evan Abrams on that before
- 9:06Speaker 2: we get to our cash crash and clutch. Kendra, your
- 9:11Speaker 2: one big shiny takeaway from week two thus far in
- 9:16Speaker 2: the NFL.
- 9:17Speaker 3: Just that I'm an idiot.
- 9:19Speaker 1: I think that that's that's my big takeaway is that
- 9:22Speaker 1: I am a very dumb person and the Patriots are
- 9:26Speaker 1: in bed jail. That's I have officially put them in
- 9:30Speaker 1: bed jail rest of the year.
- 9:32Speaker 2: At least is there like a there's a prison sentence.
- 9:34Speaker 2: You just said it as I was thinking about the
- 9:36Speaker 2: question rest of the year. You're saying you will not
- 9:38Speaker 2: bet on a Patriots game. Yeah, the rest of the.
- 9:42Speaker 3: Year years in a row.
- 9:44Speaker 1: And I already have a Drake future, the Patriots, any
- 9:47Speaker 1: them and whoever they're playing officially.
- 9:50Speaker 3: In jail, federal prison.
- 9:54Speaker 2: Okay. And they are sharing a cell with the Atlanta Falcons.
- 10:02Speaker 2: I refuse to bet on the Atlanta Falcons. I will
- 10:07Speaker 2: probably bet against them. Now, I will say that I
- 10:11Speaker 2: think you could sell yourself on some Thursday night football
- 10:15Speaker 2: value at seven. Michael Penix has a chance to play.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Green Bay's off of overtime. I'm just saying, if you
- 10:24Speaker 2: wanted to make the case.
- 10:25Speaker 3: I think you need to call the.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Hotline, my friend.
- 10:28Speaker 3: I think you need to call the hotline.
- 10:30Speaker 2: The hotlanta hotline. I'm already doing it to myself. You're
- 10:34Speaker 2: in prison, Atlanta. You're in absolute prison. We have much
- 10:37Speaker 2: to get to. Cash, crash, clutch. Who are our heroes
- 10:41Speaker 2: and zeros in week two thus far? But first, a
- 10:43Speaker 2: word from our favorite clutch sports app, DraftKings.
- 10:47Speaker 1: If you listen to this show, you know football season
- 10:50Speaker 1: is officially back. And to celebrate, our sponsor, DraftKings, has

- 11:22Speaker 2: We're dead in the water. If it crashes, it crashes, right?
- 11:26Speaker 4: Never stood a chance. No, it was cash.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Let's get to our cash crash and clutch, our version
- 11:35Speaker 2: of high-low hero. Who is your cash of the week?
- 11:38Speaker 1: I got to go the Panthers, man. I couldn't get
- 11:40Speaker 1: to the window on them at the beginning of the season.
- 11:42Speaker 1: I said I wasn't going to back them, whether at
- 11:45Speaker 1: least in the same sense, not even just for futures,
- 11:47Speaker 1: but the same way this season, because I didn't know
- 11:49Speaker 1: if I believed in them. I think Bryce Young might
- 11:52Speaker 1: have arrived.
- 11:53Speaker 3: What do you think?
- 11:54Speaker 2: Well, he certainly looks like it. I mean, it was
- 11:56Speaker 2: one of the notes that I wrote for myself is,
- 11:58Speaker 2: you know, let's Let's give credit where credit is due,
- 12:01Speaker 2: because when he looks like shit, we certainly like to
- 12:03Speaker 2: call it out. Bryce Young now back to back good
- 12:07Speaker 2: games that he's put together. It's starting to feel like
- 12:09Speaker 2: it's not a fluke. Atlanta already without their top two
- 12:13Speaker 2: edge rushers, which is part of the reason why this
- 12:15Speaker 2: team is looking as bad as they are. That was
- 12:18Speaker 2: already the case coming into the season. with James Pierce
- 12:21Speaker 2: suspended and Jalen Walker injured AJ Terrell, their top corner,
- 12:25Speaker 2: which was also helping to at least keep their team
- 12:28Speaker 2: somewhat respectable. He got hurt early on in the game,
- 12:31Speaker 2: but Bryce Young Lloyd also, I mean that he was
- 12:36Speaker 2: looking like defensive player of the year out there in Atlanta,
- 12:40Speaker 2: making the case with, uh, all of the action that
- 12:42Speaker 2: he had, but Bryce definitely deserves a shout out for
- 12:46Speaker 2: what he has put together in back-to-back weeks. And all
- 12:48Speaker 2: of a sudden, you know, we missed a golden opportunity
- 12:51Speaker 2: to back our sad cats. And we might have to
- 12:53Speaker 2: look to do that in the future. I think we
- 12:55Speaker 2: might have to have a kitten conversation on Thursday's episode.
- 13:01Speaker 2: My catch was Jamar Chase. That catch was ridiculous. I
- 13:05Speaker 2: didn't make any money off of it. I just thought
- 13:07Speaker 2: it was so good that he deserved a shout out here.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Spinning around, lost the ball in the lights while defended
- 13:13Speaker 2: by Derek Stingley, one of the best DBs in the NFL,
- 13:16Speaker 2: makes the catch, toe taps on the sideline. That was
- 13:20Speaker 2: OBJ one-handed in primetime levels of impressive. If that was
- 13:25Speaker 2: on Sunday night football, we'd never stop talking about it.
- 13:30Speaker 2: But on top of that, it's not just what the
- 13:32Speaker 2: offense is doing. They've had Burrow and Chase and Higgins
- 13:36Speaker 2: for years now. They have help. The Bengals' defense in
- 13:40Speaker 2: back-to-back weeks is delivering big. And if this is legit,
- 13:44Speaker 2: and this isn't just a week two, we're going to
- 13:46Speaker 2: overreact and overhype them sort of thing. This is an
- 13:49Speaker 2: easy top five team in the NFL. Fourth in EPA
- 13:53Speaker 2: on defense, tenth in success rate so far through two weeks.
- 13:57Speaker 2: And they've played two somewhat... somewhat decent offenses. It's not
- 14:02Speaker 2: like they've gone up against the Titans. They played the Bucks.
- 14:06Speaker 2: They played the Texans who looked decent in week one.
- 14:10Speaker 2: No Nico Collins, but I'm impressed. I'm impressed with what
- 14:14Speaker 2: I've seen from Cincinnati.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Yeah, another future ticket that I do hold is the
- 14:18Speaker 1: Cincinnati Bengals over nine and a half. Embrace debate. The
- 14:22Speaker 1: entire Internet's been talking about it. You brought it up
- 14:24Speaker 1: better than the Odell Beckham Jr.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Catch.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Or I would say, yeah, honestly, just because of who
- 14:30Speaker 1: was on him and him having to spin around to
- 14:32Speaker 1: catch that. I it wasn't as I think viral as
- 14:38Speaker 1: that catch. Like it's not going to do the things
- 14:41Speaker 1: that it's done to the Internet and span time or whatever.
- 14:44Speaker 1: But I think from an athleticism standpoint, maybe more impressive.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Yeah, when you take into account the body control, the
- 14:52Speaker 2: awareness in the moment, who's defending him.
- 14:57Speaker 2: The spatial awareness, all of that, and the fact that
- 15:00Speaker 2: I think he could do it again. OBJ's catch was awesome,
- 15:04Speaker 2: but it's not like we ever saw him do that again.
- 15:07Speaker 2: That was it. That was one incredible catch. What Jamar
- 15:11Speaker 2: Chase did, I'm confident that if Joe Burrow throws the
- 15:15Speaker 2: same pass next Sunday, Jamar Chase could make that catch.
- 15:20Speaker 2: So I'm more impressed with him. My crash is Aaron Rodgers.
- 15:26Speaker 2: I mean, I expect it from Cooper Rush. I expect
- 15:30Speaker 2: it from Marcus Mariota, who's quickly becoming the cockroach of
- 15:35Speaker 2: the NFL. We can't get rid of this guy. Jacoby Brissett,
- 15:38Speaker 2: I expect you to turn into a pumpkin. But Aaron Rodgers,
- 15:43Speaker 2: you were given... Every single opportunity to stay in this game.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Don't let the final score fool you. The Patriots were
- 15:52Speaker 2: not a good football team yesterday, but Aaron Rodgers was
- 15:55Speaker 2: among the worst quarterbacks that I saw on Sunday. Every
- 15:58Speaker 2: once in a while. You see one of those flicks
- 16:01Speaker 2: of the wrist down the field, but there wasn't a
- 16:03Speaker 2: lot else there. This man, you can tell he's getting
- 16:06Speaker 2: old because he operates the pocket the way that I would.
- 16:10Speaker 2: I would have no sense of pressure coming my way.
- 16:13Speaker 2: He has none. I mean, he took a lick yesterday
- 16:15Speaker 2: and he can't escape the pocket. There's no mobility anymore.
- 16:18Speaker 2: 3.5 yards per pass. He's not good. They are tough
- 16:23Speaker 2: to back, especially now. They're going to go into next
- 16:25Speaker 2: week against Cincinnati as underdogs. But without Mike Tomlin, I
- 16:30Speaker 2: just don't trust this. And he's hard to back with
- 16:34Speaker 2: your money the way that this is looking.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I was going to say he looks like he
- 16:39Speaker 1: still thinks that he's prime Aaron Rodgers and he's not.
- 16:43Speaker 1: And it's not tough to watch because I don't really
- 16:45Speaker 1: love the guy. But the thing that I really respect
- 16:48Speaker 1: about quarterbacks and I talk about all the time, specifically
- 16:51Speaker 1: with Matt Stafford, is that like, sure, he's not as
- 16:55Speaker 1: quick to take off or as agile as he used
- 16:59Speaker 1: to be. But it's like six cents pocket awareness is
- 17:02Speaker 1: just next level. And it feels like Aaron Rodgers. I
- 17:05Speaker 1: don't know if it's the drugs. I don't know if
- 17:06Speaker 1: it's the drama. I don't know what it is. But
- 17:08Speaker 1: it feels like that sense for him doesn't exist in
- 17:11Speaker 1: the same way we've seen other quarterbacks who have, you know,
- 17:15Speaker 1: had a career old enough to smoke cigarettes operate.
- 17:19Speaker 3: Look at Joe Flacco even.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Flacco has aged much more gracefully than Rogers. And right now,
- 17:26Speaker 2: could you confidently tell me that you'd rather have Aaron
- 17:28Speaker 2: Rogers be your quarterback than Joe Flacco?
- 17:30Speaker 1: Absolutely not. I would take Joe Flacco every single day
- 17:35Speaker 1: of the week. Could you imagine telling yourself that 10
- 17:37Speaker 1: years ago?
- 17:37Speaker 2: No, no, I couldn't, you know, and you would get
- 17:41Speaker 2: a couple extra points of value too. If like, if
- 17:43Speaker 2: you put Joe Flacco as the starting quarterback of the
- 17:46Speaker 2: Pittsburgh Steelers against the Cincinnati Bengals. So the Steelers, they're,
- 17:51Speaker 2: They probably win the game yesterday, but I'm just thinking
- 17:53Speaker 2: like moving forward. So if you put Flacco there, you
- 17:56Speaker 2: get an extra three points of value. You're probably getting
- 17:58Speaker 2: the Bengals or the Steelers rather plus six and a
- 18:01Speaker 2: half at home with Joe Flacco as the quarterback. Sign
- 18:05Speaker 2: me up for that all day long, all day. But Rogers,
- 18:09Speaker 2: I just I think a lot of people are going
- 18:10Speaker 2: to get sucked into into the hook there. And I'm
- 18:14Speaker 2: not sure that it's worth it.
- 18:15Speaker 3: Drew Allertake is not as crazy as it sounded.
- 18:18Speaker 4: Is it?
- 18:19Speaker 2: When did you, uh, do you, do you recall when
- 18:22Speaker 2: you thought that transition would happen?
- 18:25Speaker 3: When we did our five hot takes for the season?
- 18:27Speaker 1: I can't remember if I said week eight or week 10,
- 18:29Speaker 1: one of the two.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Oh, we are on track.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Air Rogers was a real quick, a fun stat for you.
- 18:39Speaker 2: So Cooper Rush, Jake Strand, Jack Strand. Anyway, they were
- 18:45Speaker 2: the worst quarterback combo in the NFL this week. Caleb
- 18:48Speaker 2: Williams right behind them. And we'll talk about his injury
- 18:50Speaker 2: in a bit. But a lot of that was weather related.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Justin Herbert was the next worst quarterback in terms of
- 18:57Speaker 2: quarterback rating. And then Aaron Rodgers. Those were the worst
- 19:00Speaker 2: quarterbacks in week two in the NFL so far. That's
- 19:03Speaker 2: how bad Rodgers was.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Go ahead. My crush, speaking of Justin Herbert, is going
- 19:08Speaker 1: to be the Chargers. What just an absolute crash and
- 19:11Speaker 1: burn for both of us. I really thought that this
- 19:13Speaker 1: would be a bounce back spot, but this definitely says
- 19:16Speaker 1: more about the Raiders, in my opinion.
- 19:18Speaker 3: Kirk looked good yesterday. I hate to say it.
- 19:21Speaker 1: I was one of these people where I'm like, they're
- 19:22Speaker 1: going to wind up having a lot of pressure to
- 19:24Speaker 1: play the kid, love them anyway, regardless of who's starting.
- 19:28Speaker 1: But I'm wondering if this is good or bad for
- 19:30Speaker 1: Fernando Mendoza.
- 19:31Speaker 2: I think it's great for him. This was the plan.
- 19:37Speaker 2: The plan was for Kirk. They spent a bunch of
- 19:39Speaker 2: money on defense. By the way, they have done this
- 19:43Speaker 2: without Brock Bowers yet. They don't even have their best
- 19:45Speaker 2: player on the field. But the idea was, let's just
- 19:49Speaker 2: play a sort of efficient ball control offense where Bowers
- 19:54Speaker 2: is a star. They haven't been able to do that yet,
- 19:56Speaker 2: but it hasn't mattered. Ash and gentee. rushes for 100
- 20:00Speaker 2: yards a game, and Kirk Cousins doesn't turn the ball over,
- 20:03Speaker 2: and our defense will take care of the rest. That
- 20:05Speaker 2: was the idea, and let's just see if we can
- 20:07Speaker 2: get ourselves into a position where we're in the hunt
- 20:09Speaker 2: for the playoffs, keep Mendoza on the bench. They are
- 20:13Speaker 2: tracking to do that now. The worst thing that could
- 20:16Speaker 2: happen to the Raiders is that they... fall off Cousins
- 20:21Speaker 2: is so bad that they have to throw Mendoza out
- 20:24Speaker 2: there because that's not what they want to do whether
- 20:27Speaker 2: that's the right thing to do or not is a
- 20:29Speaker 2: discussion for a different day it's not what the Raiders
- 20:32Speaker 2: want to do so with them winning and Cousins looking
- 20:35Speaker 2: like a pretty good quarterback it allows them to at
- 20:38Speaker 2: least go forward with your plan.
- 20:40Speaker 3: And I mean I think Fernando needs to sit.
- 20:44Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean, I don't, and I think
- 20:46Speaker 2: that he would be fine as I think the preseason
- 20:49Speaker 2: stuff was way overblown, but cousins can still play and
- 20:53Speaker 2: they brought him in to do exactly that.
- 20:57Speaker 1: So I don't think that this Chargers defense should let
- 21:01Speaker 1: up 26 points to this Raiders offense without Brock Bowers.
- 21:04Speaker 1: So the bigger issue for me here definitely is the offense.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Are we overblowing who Mike McDaniel is? I mean, you're
- 21:12Speaker 1: the resident Dolphins fan. Are we just overrating him, or
- 21:17Speaker 1: do you think him and Harbaugh are beefing? Is this
- 21:20Speaker 1: too big of a spotlight for him? What's the issue here?
- 21:22Speaker 1: Because it's clearly the offense.
- 21:24Speaker 2: So I haven't come to a conclusion yet. We're just
- 21:27Speaker 2: in week two, so I don't think we have to
- 21:28Speaker 2: do that.
- 21:30Speaker 1: But.
- 21:31Speaker 2: I do think Mike McDaniel is struggling because he's in
- 21:34Speaker 2: a bizarro world right now. Justin Herbert is the exact
- 21:39Speaker 2: opposite of Tua. Tua would snap, release. Super accurate. That
- 21:45Speaker 2: was his superpower. That was the one thing Tua was
- 21:47Speaker 2: good at, is he was an accurate quarterback that got
- 21:50Speaker 2: the ball out of his hands quickly. He couldn't throw
- 21:52Speaker 2: it more than five yards, but those were the things
- 21:54Speaker 2: that he did well. Now he's got Justin Herbert... who
- 21:58Speaker 2: can't read a defense, who drops back in the pocket,
- 22:02Speaker 2: holds the ball too long, can't hit the broad side
- 22:05Speaker 2: of a barn, but can throw the ball a mile.
- 22:08Speaker 2: So you've got the complete opposite quarterback from the guy
- 22:10Speaker 2: he had been coaching for the last four years. I
- 22:13Speaker 2: think it's a really rough transition for Mike McDaniel and
- 22:16Speaker 2: one that not enough of us took into account when
- 22:19Speaker 2: you go. It's kind of like in dating. If you're
- 22:22Speaker 2: dating the meek and mild person, That's not outgoing. And
- 22:26Speaker 2: then all of a sudden you break up and then
- 22:29Speaker 2: you're with the wild party animal who never shuts up.
- 22:32Speaker 2: It's going to be a shock to the system. And
- 22:34Speaker 2: that's what Mike McDaniel is dealing with right now.
- 22:39Speaker 3: All right.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Can you grade the, can you grade the analogy?
- 22:42Speaker 3: I think that that was for you and you're like
- 22:45Speaker 3: dad brain. I'm going to give that an eight out
- 22:47Speaker 3: of 10. Grab it. So that was good.
- 22:48Speaker 2: I will.
- 22:50Speaker 3: I thought that that was great.
- 22:51Speaker 2: You got to know your audience. By the way, the
- 22:53Speaker 2: Chargers are the second team in NFL history to lose
- 22:56Speaker 2: back-to-back games by double digits, both coming at home against
- 23:01Speaker 2: teams that were sub 200 winning percentage the previous season.
- 23:07Speaker 2: The last one, Racine Tornadoes in 1926. Don't even know
- 23:12Speaker 2: where that is. Go ahead.
- 23:14Speaker 3: Am I allowed to bet on them next week?
- 23:18Speaker 1: Are you putting them in bed jail for me?
- 23:21Speaker 2: So let me, let me take a look. I don't
- 23:23Speaker 2: have everybody's seven and a half. I don't think so.
- 23:30Speaker 2: I don't think I, I don't think they're bet jail yet. I,
- 23:33Speaker 2: I look at this game. So Justin Herbert lost the
- 23:35Speaker 2: ball on multiple occasions. He threw an interception. This was
- 23:39Speaker 2: a three point game with three minutes and 40 seconds left.
- 23:42Speaker 2: They turned the ball over. the Raiders score the 26
- 23:45Speaker 2: to 14 looks a lot worse. Now we were never
- 23:48Speaker 2: going to cover the spread, but the 26 to 14
- 23:51Speaker 2: looks a lot worse than what the reality of that
- 23:53Speaker 2: game was. So I don't think they're unbettable. I actually
- 23:57Speaker 2: think this is something.
- 23:59Speaker 1: We need to conkey because he's the only on that
- 24:02Speaker 1: person on that offense.
- 24:03Speaker 3: That's like kind of worth a crap at the minute.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Yeah, that's one of the biggest issues they have. Herbert's struggling,
- 24:09Speaker 2: but they are not getting a lot of help with
- 24:12Speaker 2: the pass catchers on that team. And Omari on Hampton
- 24:14Speaker 2: looks bad too.
- 24:16Speaker 1: I think 23 carries for 94 yards.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Quarterback injuries to discuss before we get to our
- 24:23Speaker 2: clutch of the week. Caleb Williams, hamstring injury. Don't know
- 24:27Speaker 2: how long he's going to be out. Jaden Daniels, second
- 24:30Speaker 2: year in a row this has happened to him with
- 24:32Speaker 2: the dislocated elbow. I watched the video that Dr. Chow
- 24:35Speaker 2: put out. on Twitter. He says it's a re dislocation
- 24:40Speaker 2: of the left elbow. The reason why that happened is
- 24:43Speaker 2: because the tendon, you might want to plug yours for this.
- 24:46Speaker 2: The tendon was already loosened. So it happened easier than
- 24:50Speaker 2: it should have for a normal person out there that
- 24:52Speaker 2: didn't just have the same injury a year ago. So
- 24:55Speaker 2: he says that because it's a re dislocation, it's almost
- 24:58Speaker 2: like the tendons are used to this mangled mess that
- 25:01Speaker 2: once you get the cast on, He should be back
- 25:05Speaker 2: sooner than what it looks like if you watch the video,
- 25:08Speaker 2: which I don't necessarily recommend. The hamstring injury for Caleb Williams.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Who knows? Hamstrings. It could be two weeks. It could
- 25:17Speaker 2: be 10 weeks. I don't think we know yet.
- 25:21Speaker 3: Okay, I have so many things to say.
- 25:24Speaker 1: We know that I'm a Caleb Williams truther.
- 25:27Speaker 3: I'm a Caleb Williams apologist.
- 25:29Speaker 2: I love him.
- 25:29Speaker 1: I love how quirky he is. I'm obsessed with that
- 25:32Speaker 1: about him. He really fueled his haters yesterday by acting
- 25:38Speaker 1: like he got shot and for it to come out
- 25:40Speaker 1: that it's a hamstring injury. I didn't quite enjoy a
- 25:43Speaker 1: lot of the memes, but it was a tough day
- 25:46Speaker 1: for those of us who were.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Like, He's just he's just built it different. I don't know.
- 25:50Speaker 3: The haters really they had a W. You can take it.
- 25:53Speaker 3: You can hold it. You can have it this week.
- 25:55Speaker 3: That was bad.
- 25:56Speaker 1: It literally that is how I act after I step
- 25:59Speaker 1: on a Lego as well.
- 26:00Speaker 2: It's OK. And as as a dad of a six
- 26:03Speaker 2: year old, I do step on Legos quite frequently. So
- 26:05Speaker 2: that is that it's like the toe stub. You know,
- 26:09Speaker 2: I don't want anyone to ever see me after I
- 26:12Speaker 2: stub my toe. It looks a lot like that. I'm
- 26:14Speaker 2: sure that it was. I'm sure that it was. He's
- 26:17Speaker 2: an emotional guy. He's a, he is an emotional man.
- 26:20Speaker 1: I've had some, and I like that. I, I like
- 26:22Speaker 1: a man who cries. Um, but I have also had
- 26:25Speaker 1: hamstring issues and they are not fun.
- 26:27Speaker 3: They are difficult, but ouch.
- 26:30Speaker 2: That was a tough.
- 26:31Speaker 3: Look for my boy and me.
- 26:33Speaker 2: And it's amazing. So, I mean, so with all the
- 26:35Speaker 2: optimism around the bears this season, just zapped in an
- 26:39Speaker 2: instant 59 points in week one, followed up by three.
- 26:44Speaker 2: I mean, if that doesn't explain the week to week
- 26:46Speaker 2: nature of the NFL, nothing does. They had eight touchdowns
- 26:49Speaker 2: in week one, zero in week two. It's the biggest
- 26:52Speaker 2: drop off offensively week to week in the history of
- 26:55Speaker 2: the NFL.
- 26:56Speaker 3: That would make a lot of sense to me.
- 26:58Speaker 2: Yeah, it would. Uh, The clutch this week. Shout out
- 27:02Speaker 2: to the Brownies. What would I do? Where would I
- 27:04Speaker 2: be right now? I'd be on the poverty line, if
- 27:06Speaker 2: not for the Cleveland Browns. Maybe Watson won't be benched
- 27:10Speaker 2: ahead of the next game. That was the reporting that
- 27:13Speaker 2: we had discussed on Thursday's episode. It was... A sloppy game.
- 27:17Speaker 2: It was sloppy before the rain hit, but the lightning
- 27:20Speaker 2: zapped any remaining energy from Raymond James Stadium. Amazing that
- 27:25Speaker 2: there were any fans left. You wouldn't catch me dead
- 27:28Speaker 2: waiting two hours to watch the last two minutes of
- 27:31Speaker 2: Buccaneers Browns. Those are the real lifers that are out there.
- 27:35Speaker 3: You're a big fan.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Oh, no doubt. I wouldn't battle anybody on that. I'm
- 27:41Speaker 2: the worst.
- 27:42Speaker 1: The people who left the Jags-Chargers playoff game a couple
- 27:45Speaker 1: years ago when they were down like 21 points or
- 27:47Speaker 1: something stupid, I hope all those people feel like idiots
- 27:50Speaker 1: because that game ruled.
- 27:51Speaker 3: I was at that game.
- 27:54Speaker 2: That's different. That's a playoff game. The weather's nice. I
- 27:59Speaker 2: think the weather was nice that day. That was the second.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Coldest I've ever been in my life. People will say
- 28:03Speaker 1: it's crazy that it was in Florida. I know the
- 28:05Speaker 1: two instances. One was I'm off the top of my dome,
- 28:10Speaker 1: really forgetting what they call it when they play a
- 28:12Speaker 1: hockey game at like a baseball stadium. The winter classic.
- 28:16Speaker 1: I went to one with the Bruins at Fenway. That
- 28:18Speaker 1: was the first, like, coldest day of my life. It
- 28:21Speaker 1: was New Year's Day outside.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Awful.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Number two would be that Jaguars playoff game because the
- 28:27Speaker 1: wet cold, when it is like 20-something degrees, is so
- 28:30Speaker 1: much worse. And the third, I went to the last
- 28:34Speaker 1: Patriots game of the year up here in 2022.
- 28:36Speaker 3: Miserable.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Those three are the coldest I've ever been in my life.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Jacksonville does not get very cold, but that night specifically was.
- 28:46Speaker 3: Hell on earth.
- 28:48Speaker 2: Next week on the podcast, Kendra's heat rankings. How hot
- 28:52Speaker 2: has she been?
- 28:53Speaker 1: I have some good answers to that.
- 28:56Speaker 2: So the Bucks at the end of this game. So
- 28:59Speaker 2: they come back out of the locker room. It's 615
- 29:02Speaker 2: at this point, local time. it's taken them two hours
- 29:07Speaker 2: to get back out on the field. The Bucs, three-yard run,
- 29:10Speaker 2: six-yard run, six-yard pass, 10-yard penalty, incompletion, three-yard run, incompletion,
- 29:16Speaker 2: game over. The Bucs were held to 176 yards passing.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Should we grab the shovels for Baker Mayfield? I mean,
- 29:29Speaker 2: this isn't pretty. I love the exact quote. What was
- 29:33Speaker 2: the exact quote you had on the last episode? He's
- 29:37Speaker 2: I forget what it was, but you buried him. You already.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Buried him yeah i love him as a person but
- 29:42Speaker 1: i just person i wouldn't have signed that contract that
- 29:45Speaker 1: feels crazy for him they should have stood their ground
- 29:47Speaker 1: a little harder i i think that he was lightning
- 29:50Speaker 1: in a bottle he's electric he's fun i love that
- 29:52Speaker 1: he loves to talk his talk but You.
- 29:55Speaker 3: Can't sign a contract like that and go out there
- 29:57Speaker 3: and do this. You just can't do it. That's tough.
- 29:59Speaker 3: I feel real bad for Bucks fans.
- 30:02Speaker 2: That could be the title of the article in the newspaper,
- 30:06Speaker 2: Lightning in a Bottle, after that game.
- 30:08Speaker 4: Nice.
- 30:08Speaker 2: That was really good.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Yeah, all right.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Really good. All right. Tea.
- 30:14Speaker 3: Yeah, fuck it.
- 30:16Speaker 2: Go ahead. Oh, it's your clutch of the week.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Um my clutch I had it wasn't me that was
- 30:22Speaker 1: for sure um I'm gonna go with the Vikings they
- 30:26Speaker 1: just for some reason this 2-0 Vikings team is the
- 30:30Speaker 1: funniest 2-0 team to me we can talk about you
- 30:32Speaker 1: know Vegas or.
- 30:33Speaker 3: Whatever but it's the Vikings this division.
- 30:36Speaker 1: The fact that Kyler went out there and got hurt
- 30:38Speaker 1: off the rip and they're surviving the way that they
- 30:40Speaker 1: are they kicked my ass yesterday good for them.
- 30:44Speaker 2: So they are the neon light fade for me in
- 30:48Speaker 2: week three. This is one of... I've only made two
- 30:51Speaker 2: bets so far. So we're taking it easy to start
- 30:55Speaker 2: the early portion of week three betting. But the Bears,
- 30:59Speaker 2: zero touchdowns in this game between the Vikings and the Bears.
- 31:03Speaker 2: You could have made some good money on that, by
- 31:04Speaker 2: the way. I don't know if that market was available.
- 31:06Speaker 2: But the Bears... racked up eight penalties for 58 yards.
- 31:11Speaker 2: They turned the ball over twice. They lost their starting quarterback,
- 31:15Speaker 2: and they still almost won the game at the end.
- 31:19Speaker 2: Beware of these phony Minnesota Vikings. Now, this is where
- 31:24Speaker 2: we speak out of both sides of our mouth sometimes.
- 31:26Speaker 2: I do have a Vikings NFC North ticket. So if
- 31:31Speaker 2: I'm wrong, let's be all the way wrong. About that.
- 31:37Speaker 2: You said you have one too.
- 31:38Speaker 3: I have a lions.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Okay.
- 31:41Speaker 1: All right.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Both are still in play. Those are the two teams.
- 31:43Speaker 2: I think you'd feel good about as far as winning
- 31:45Speaker 2: the division right now, the Packers look like trash and
- 31:49Speaker 2: the bears are going to be without Caleb.
- 31:51Speaker 3: The Packers kicked my ass yesterday.
- 31:53Speaker 2: They're bad.
- 31:55Speaker 3: They're bad. They're real bad.
- 31:58Speaker 2: That is a, that is a mid football team. Diva
- 32:02Speaker 2: of the week. I have a nominee for this one.
- 32:05Speaker 3: Okay, I have one as well. You go first.
- 32:07Speaker 2: He's just a diva. No, I'm not.
- 32:09Speaker 3: An impossible diva.
- 32:11Speaker 2: What would make you say something like that?
- 32:13Speaker 4: It's pretty obvious.
- 32:14Speaker 3: Diva alert!
- 32:16Speaker 2: Could have given it to Caleb for crying his way
- 32:18Speaker 2: to the locker room. But I'm going to give it
- 32:21Speaker 2: to Marquise Bell for stepping on the nuts of his teammate,
- 32:29Speaker 2: Kobe Durant of the Dallas Cowboys. If you think the
- 32:35Speaker 2: Jaden Daniels clip is ugly to watch online today, don't
- 32:40Speaker 2: look at this one. A cleat to the sack. Ugh.
- 32:45Speaker 2: That is. It wasn't just the sack.
- 32:47Speaker 3: It was also the booty hole.
- 32:49Speaker 1: It was a twofer.
- 32:53Speaker 2: You gotta. Talk about.
- 32:54Speaker 3: That's the back door of the week.
- 32:55Speaker 2: That is. That's a. That was the back door of
- 32:58Speaker 2: the week. Have we been. Is Peg still out on
- 33:01Speaker 2: the pod? Okay. Okay. That's my nomination. That was brutal
- 33:05Speaker 2: to watch.
- 33:07Speaker 3: Mine is going to be Mike McDaniel.
- 33:09Speaker 1: I'm just over the freaking diva attitude on the sidelines
- 33:15Speaker 1: and going out there and having stinkers offensively. You can't
- 33:19Speaker 1: have the freaking LA gel in your hair and the
- 33:21Speaker 1: sunglasses and the clean sneakers and just your offense continuously suck.
- 33:28Speaker 1: I just, that's my diva of the week. The self-awareness
- 33:31Speaker 1: is just lacking. I need him to go back to
- 33:34Speaker 1: being a nerd with his khakis hiked up real far
- 33:36Speaker 1: and his shirt tucked in with his stupid nerd glasses.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Somebody needs to shove him in a locker and remind
- 33:42Speaker 1: him where he came from.
- 33:44Speaker 2: There's a good chance that was happening in Miami. I
- 33:46Speaker 2: wouldn't rule that out.
- 33:48Speaker 1: God.
- 33:49Speaker 3: He went from looking like a drug dealer to looking
- 33:51Speaker 3: like a loser.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Yeah, we say all of that. We're going to end
- 33:55Speaker 2: up betting the Chargers plus seven this week. That's going
- 33:58Speaker 2: to end up in the contest. I can just feel it.
- 34:00Speaker 2: My gut is screaming at me.
- 34:02Speaker 3: Can we make a deal?
- 34:04Speaker 1: You know how Ladd McConkie was in bed jail for
- 34:06Speaker 1: me last year? I think that this is if we
- 34:10Speaker 1: do wind up getting to the window on the Chargers
- 34:13Speaker 1: and they let us down again, they go on IR.
- 34:18Speaker 2: I like that. Yeah, because we can't eliminate everybody. We'd
- 34:21Speaker 2: be out of teams by the time we get to Thanksgiving.
- 34:23Speaker 3: They go on probation.
- 34:24Speaker 2: I like that idea. Got a little bit of probation,
- 34:28Speaker 2: but it's looking like we're not locking it in yet, people.
- 34:31Speaker 2: But Chargers plus seven, we got our eye on it.
- 34:34Speaker 2: Let's bring in the Oracle, Evan Abrams. Evan, what did
- 34:39Speaker 2: you learn this weekend that you'll be taking with you?
- 34:42Speaker 2: And have you ever taken a nut shot like that?
- 34:46Speaker 4: I haven't taken. Maybe I have. I just went for
- 34:49Speaker 4: the baseball. There's a chance I actually, and I didn't
- 34:51Speaker 4: like wearing a cup because who likes wearing a cup?
- 34:54Speaker 4: So there's a chance I got a nutshell.
- 34:57Speaker 2: The one time I was rounding, I was rounding first
- 35:01Speaker 2: base on my way, hard charging the second base. They
- 35:04Speaker 2: hit a nice one in the gap and the, and
- 35:07Speaker 2: the cup just slides down my pant leg. And by
- 35:11Speaker 2: the time I get the second base, this thing is
- 35:13Speaker 2: on my cleat. It was very strange. Yeah.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:18Speaker 4: Very uncomfortable.
- 35:20Speaker 2: I think that was it for me.
- 35:21Speaker 1: I think I had a freak out one time because
- 35:23Speaker 1: I found my brother's cup in our dishwasher and I
- 35:26Speaker 1: wouldn't eat dishes that came out of the dishwasher anymore.
- 35:32Speaker 4: Good memories.
- 35:33Speaker 1: All right.
- 35:33Speaker 4: So this week, you mentioned this to me before, Kravitz.
- 35:39Speaker 4: It is worth noting. So 0-2 teams. in week three,
- 35:44Speaker 4: have shown value over the years, been pretty decent bets,
- 35:46Speaker 4: especially you want to look for 0-2 versus obviously not 0-2.
- 35:50Speaker 4: Teams have already won games. 78-55 against the spread in BetLabs,
- 35:53Speaker 4: about 59%. Last decade, 42-22, 66%. So definitely something that
- 35:56Speaker 4: does pop. year to year when you look at these things.
- 36:08Speaker 4: I think I have it up right now.
- 36:10Speaker 2: So you said 66% last decade, 78 and 55 against
- 36:14Speaker 2: the spread. What does that date back to? Is that 2014? No.
- 36:15Speaker 2: So for BetLabs, it's 2005 for the 78 and 55.
- 36:18Speaker 4: This week, it would be the Falcons, Commanders, Dolphins, Chargers, Titans, Bucks,
- 36:30Speaker 4: and Rams. But Rams, forget. We have to wait for tonight. Falcons, Commanders, Dolphins, Chargers, Titans, Bucks.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Bucks. Planting the flag. That's not a segment on this
- 36:40Speaker 2: show anymore, but I'm planting the flag on the Bucks.
- 36:43Speaker 4: Also, got to wait on the Titans. That's with the
- 36:45Speaker 4: Giants next week. We'll see how that goes.
- 36:50Speaker 2: All right, that's going to be the most important stat
- 36:52Speaker 2: that you read anywhere. So if you like it, you
- 36:54Speaker 2: might want to get ahead of that. Bad day for
- 36:56Speaker 2: the public. NFL side, 75% of the tickets. Eagles, Bucs, 49ers, Ravens, Chiefs, Packers.
- 37:04Speaker 2: That's one in five against the spread this week. The
- 37:07Speaker 2: public took a bath, Evan.
- 37:10Speaker 4: Yeah, on the show we do every Sunday morning, I
- 37:13Speaker 4: was going over all the public sides. They did terribly.
- 37:16Speaker 4: We were talking about that Eagles game. did not work
- 37:19Speaker 4: out if you laid the points. Interesting enough though, so
- 37:22Speaker 4: if you just look at the public, which is 51%
- 37:24Speaker 4: of tickets are higher according to our Action Network data,
- 37:27Speaker 4: 12 and 18 against the spread this season. And I
- 37:32Speaker 4: found this kind of interesting. So if you just look
- 37:33Speaker 4: at the first two weeks and you look at the
- 37:35Speaker 4: last few years, it's actually been literally terrible. So through
- 37:39Speaker 4: two weeks, last three years, 33 and 60. And then
- 37:44Speaker 4: if you go through two weeks again, Uh, dating back
- 37:48Speaker 4: to 2021, 72 and 112, 39%. So 36% last three years, 39%,
- 37:54Speaker 4: 12 and 18 so far this year. So this seems
- 37:57Speaker 4: to be a year to year theme, at least early
- 38:00Speaker 4: season where, uh, it's pretty, pretty brutal for, uh, teams
- 38:03Speaker 4: getting a lot of tickets.
- 38:05Speaker 1: Do you have an early look at an O and
- 38:07Speaker 1: two team that you like the best?
- 38:10Speaker 4: That's a fun question. I wasn't thinking about, um, man.
- 38:16Speaker 3: I'm going to give you some Falcons tight ends.
- 38:20Speaker 4: Um, I am a sucker for probably two of these teams.
- 38:25Speaker 4: What's the line on, let me look at Tampa for
- 38:27Speaker 4: a second.
- 38:27Speaker 3: I've got stuff pulled up. It's Tampa's getting two and
- 38:30Speaker 3: a half.
- 38:31Speaker 4: Two and a half. Yeah. Uh, I would say I'm
- 38:33Speaker 4: a fan. Like I'm a fan of three of them. Honestly,
- 38:38Speaker 4: I'll bet them Tampa chargers in Miami can't catch my attention. Um,
- 38:44Speaker 4: Miami is going to be the.
- 38:45Speaker 3: Really tough one. I'm going to be on Tampa and
- 38:46Speaker 3: the Chargers.
- 38:48Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, just thinking about this, like on a,
- 38:51Speaker 2: on a baseline level, looking at the teams first that
- 38:56Speaker 2: you think there's no way this team starts. Oh, and three.
- 39:01Speaker 2: That's a good place to start. Now, obviously then we
- 39:04Speaker 2: have to layer in the numbers are going to matter
- 39:06Speaker 2: in all of this. But if we're talking about tight spreads,
- 39:08Speaker 2: I think this is why the bucks stand out to me.
- 39:10Speaker 2: We're talking about a spread of three points or less
- 39:13Speaker 2: for a team that they're probably going to disappoint. A
- 39:17Speaker 2: lot of people, their fan base is, is they are,
- 39:19Speaker 2: I'm in the state of Florida. These people are freaking
- 39:21Speaker 2: out today. This team isn't, they're not. 0-3 bad. And
- 39:25Speaker 2: they're taking on a team that has been pretty phony
- 39:27Speaker 2: so far. They beat the, the Vikings beat the Packers
- 39:31Speaker 2: 22-0 in the fourth quarter. Otherwise, they were outplayed. And
- 39:34Speaker 2: then they were outplayed by the Bears. They should have
- 39:36Speaker 2: lost that game to Tyson Badgen. If Caleb Williams is
- 39:39Speaker 2: still in the game, they lose. This is not a
- 39:41Speaker 2: real 2-0 team. I mean, this is just simple bet psychology.
- 39:44Speaker 2: Place the bet now.
- 39:45Speaker 4: Also, I'll say one thing. So the reason these Dawgs
- 39:49Speaker 4: in history probably tend to come through hear this out.
- 39:53Speaker 4: So Miami Casey, if you look at the look ahead line,
- 39:55Speaker 4: it was seven and a half right now it's 11
- 39:58Speaker 4: and a half. So that's four points different.
- 40:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:00Speaker 4: Chargers bills look ahead was three. Now it's seven. The
- 40:05Speaker 4: box look ahead had them favored in the game. So like,
- 40:08Speaker 4: if you look at just the perception of what we
- 40:10Speaker 4: thought the teams were and what's happening now, to me,
- 40:13Speaker 4: that's where the cover comes through the door. You hear
- 40:15Speaker 4: the ambulance is coming. They're coming to get me. So
- 40:17Speaker 4: I'm going to have to go in a second.
- 40:19Speaker 2: I love it. I love it.
- 40:21Speaker 1: This was already said, but the last team to go. Oh,
- 40:23Speaker 1: and three and still make the playoffs was Houston in 2018.
- 40:27Speaker 1: And they lost the wild card before that. It was
- 40:29Speaker 1: the 98 bills.
- 40:33Speaker 2: Yeah, but I will say this.
- 40:34Speaker 4: I mean, obviously the wild card spots, the extra week,
- 40:37Speaker 4: it is a tad easier than it has been in
- 40:39Speaker 4: the past, but yeah, it's almost a death sentence.
- 40:44Speaker 2: Okay, before we cut you loose, Evan, we've got a
- 40:46Speaker 2: parlay to get to. We got a DraftKings read that
- 40:48Speaker 2: I've been told by production we do have. One of
- 40:52Speaker 2: the things that stood out to me is I'm box
- 40:54Speaker 2: score scanning Sunday night. And at that point, I've lost
- 40:58Speaker 2: a lot of money and I'm tired from chasing around
- 41:01Speaker 2: a six-year-old and I'm delirious. And I had a very
- 41:05Speaker 2: strong IPA. So you never know what's real and what's
- 41:08Speaker 2: not at this time. But I started to notice that
- 41:11Speaker 2: there were a lot of teams that really struggled to
- 41:13Speaker 2: run the ball. And then the other thing that really
- 41:15Speaker 2: stood out was that many of those teams didn't struggle
- 41:19Speaker 2: to win. So I looked at teams that ran for
- 41:22Speaker 2: 99 yards or less on Sunday. There were 15 of
- 41:26Speaker 2: them across the league. They went nine and six straight up.
- 41:31Speaker 2: Is there anything that you can add to that? Because
- 41:33Speaker 2: I found this to be quite peculiar that you had
- 41:35Speaker 2: this many teams that struggled to run, but that it
- 41:38Speaker 2: also didn't really impact the result.
- 41:41Speaker 4: Yeah, one of the wilder results of a week we've
- 41:44Speaker 4: seen in some time. So if you just look at
- 41:46Speaker 4: the teams who rush for under 100 yards, obviously their
- 41:49Speaker 4: opponent rushing for 100 or more, they went seven and
- 41:52Speaker 4: four this week, which minimum like 10, more than seven games,
- 41:57Speaker 4: like the best week I've found in 20 years. So
- 42:01Speaker 4: I think it's just a complete utter change to what
- 42:04Speaker 4: we saw last week. I think the two weeks as
- 42:07Speaker 4: a dichotomy against each other will be something very difficult
- 42:10Speaker 4: to try to predict going forward, but something very weird.
- 42:14Speaker 4: And you had mentioned the blowouts, eight games of double digits.
- 42:19Speaker 4: We've had 17 games by double digits through two weeks,
- 42:23Speaker 4: which is the most since 2017. So definitely a little
- 42:26Speaker 4: bit of a gap there.
- 42:28Speaker 2: All right. Alt lines, maybe a way to look in
- 42:30Speaker 2: the future. All right, Evan, go back to your hole.
- 42:33Speaker 2: We really appreciate your time.
- 42:35Speaker 4: Goodbye.
- 42:44Speaker 2: Time now for our Monday Night Football primetime same-game parlay
- 42:49Speaker 2: presented by Giraffe Kings. I love me some underdog tonight.
- 42:56Speaker 2: Giants plus six and a half. Rams without Myles Garrett.
- 42:59Speaker 2: Puka Nakua is a game-time call. We've got the Australia
- 43:02Speaker 2: Factor working against them. And John Harbaugh, road dog of
- 43:06Speaker 2: seven or less, 40 and 26 against the spread. He's
- 43:11Speaker 2: a Monday Night Football coach. Give me the dogs. plus
- 43:14Speaker 2: six and a half on the New York Giants. I'm
- 43:17Speaker 2: throwing that into the parlay.
- 43:19Speaker 3: I'm going to go with Jackson Dart to throw a pick.
- 43:20Speaker 1: Didn't have one last week. It's plus 106 on DraftKings
- 43:23Speaker 1: right now. I don't think he gets to week three
- 43:26Speaker 1: without letting one loose. I think that either way, they're
- 43:29Speaker 1: playing a better defense this week. If it's a garbage time,
- 43:32Speaker 1: late time, kind of just a thoughtless play by him
- 43:36Speaker 1: at some point, your deflection off of a receiver feels
- 43:39Speaker 1: very Giants at the moment. So I just don't, it's
- 43:42Speaker 1: more so I don't think he gets to week three
- 43:44Speaker 1: without throwing a pick.
- 43:45Speaker 2: And it's anti-correlated, which means we get a nice little
- 43:48Speaker 2: boost on that. Plus 410 on DraftKings, plus six and
- 43:52Speaker 2: a half on the Giants. But Jackson Dart puts us
- 43:55Speaker 2: into a precarious position. with an interception. Why would you
- 44:00Speaker 2: place these bets on draft Kings? Because all draft Kings
- 44:02Speaker 2: customers are getting a profit boost every game day in
- 44:05Speaker 2: the month of September. And that is why the crown
- 44:08Speaker 2: is yours. I can't say I feel great Kendra, but
- 44:11Speaker 2: I at least feel good that the episode was entertaining
- 44:15Speaker 2: from my lens. And this was like a therapy session.
- 44:19Speaker 2: So some of my angst has been relieved. Thank you
- 44:25Speaker 2: to you and everybody.
- 44:26Speaker 1: I was going to say, I also feel like I
- 44:28Speaker 1: went through a therapy session feels a little bit. I
- 44:30Speaker 1: feel a little bit better than I did considering I
- 44:32Speaker 1: didn't sleep very well last night. Yeah. Yeah.
- 44:36Speaker 2: I've got like that, uh, that neck thing, you know,
- 44:38Speaker 2: like when you get that nerve, you sleep wrong.
- 44:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 44:41Speaker 2: I got that. I got that and no sleep. And
- 44:43Speaker 2: thank you all for hanging out with us. The favorites
- 44:46Speaker 2: will return on Thursday as we dive deep into week
