- 0:00Speaker 1: Coming up on Relatables. I've had people shove ship down
- 0:03Speaker 1: my throat and I'm like, I can't breathe. I've had
- 0:08Speaker 1: that too, and you got to like sort of like
- 0:11Speaker 1: push him back. Yeah. Like the grossest feeling in the
- 0:13Speaker 1: world is accidentally brushing your tongue across their teeth. Yeah,
- 0:16Speaker 1: you're doing this willingly. Yeah. I feel like some people
- 0:21Speaker 1: like like the how like aggressive it is. They feel
- 0:24Speaker 1: like it's more passion.
- 0:26Speaker 2: That's what it is.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Oh God, we are in a safe environment now.
- 0:44Speaker 1: Relatable The Relatables podcast is hosted by myself Body Clark
- 0:55Speaker 1: Akammy and my partner in crime, mister Jake Craig aka Dad.
- 1:00Speaker 1: What the hell mate? Show some respect you? Actually you
- 1:06Speaker 1: want to see some respect? What that was so rude
- 1:08Speaker 1: of you, By the way, you don't even know what's
- 1:10Speaker 1: about to come. That was rude of me. You birthed mic.
- 1:13Speaker 1: How are you gaslighting me to say I was rude?
- 1:16Speaker 1: You birthed the mic, said Daddy while birthing to all
- 1:21Speaker 1: of our baddies listening. Welcome back, guys, it is we're
- 1:25Speaker 1: fighting already. It's nine fifty four am. Some people may think, wow,
- 1:29Speaker 1: that's a bit late in the morning for Audie and myself.
- 1:32Speaker 1: This is an early recording session of This is early
- 1:34Speaker 1: we usually recorded about I've got an energy drink myself up.
- 1:38Speaker 4: I didn't have any food this morning. It's why to
- 1:43Speaker 4: drive coals to pick up some breakfast. Yes, because I was.
- 1:45Speaker 4: I was like, I could go buy like a bacon
- 1:46Speaker 4: and then roll from the cafe. But my god, I've
- 1:49Speaker 4: been been off diet for a couple of days. You know,
- 1:51Speaker 4: I've been let myself go.
- 1:52Speaker 1: I gotta go. I've gotta be strict. Yeah, backed in
- 1:54Speaker 1: all it, didn't want say anything.
- 1:57Speaker 4: So I went to Coles and I thought, why not.
- 2:00Speaker 4: I'll give us a couple of little vitality boosters for
- 2:06Speaker 4: our morning session. I won't give any free promo. I'll
- 2:09Speaker 4: show you the back of it. It's pretty orange and
- 2:10Speaker 4: it's a small shot.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Is it like a tonic shot? It's orange peel extract,
- 2:15Speaker 1: turmeric gin sang and ginger gin sang? What you never
- 2:19Speaker 1: heard of that? But I thought orange peel extract.
- 2:22Speaker 3: They don't have to make it.
- 2:23Speaker 1: It sound very appealing. This is our vitality super shot.
- 2:26Speaker 1: So we've got to take this and then talk for
- 2:27Speaker 1: an hour. That's a great idea from you. But actually
- 2:31Speaker 1: we'll take it. We'll go watch three movie mic aways
- 2:33Speaker 1: if we get some good thumbnails. Cheers. This is the
- 2:41Speaker 1: only drinking jack with it. That's quite nice. Actually, yes,
- 2:48Speaker 1: it's not as bad as I thought it would be.
- 2:50Speaker 1: My dad makes turmeric, so, like I'm sending you somewhat
- 2:53Speaker 1: used to it. How does he make turmeric? You boil
- 2:57Speaker 1: it down for like hours and days, like the extract
- 3:00Speaker 1: with like all that stuff. He does it himself and
- 3:02Speaker 1: then bottles it. Ship. Really it's supposed to be wicked
- 3:06Speaker 1: for you. Yeah, he's a hippie man. Yeah, I think so.
- 3:09Speaker 1: It's meant to be good for your gut and stuff.
- 3:10Speaker 1: But it's stained drink bottles. I'm like, that can't be
- 3:12Speaker 1: good for your insights because it stains a drink bottle. Yeah,
- 3:15Speaker 1: that can't be good for the inside your stuff. Actually,
- 3:17Speaker 1: does it stain a glass drink bottle? No? There you
- 3:20Speaker 1: got plastic one, seeing plastic. I think the reason it
- 3:22Speaker 1: stands a plastic drink bottles because the plastic is what's
- 3:24Speaker 1: bad for you. Oh, could be true that tonic shots
- 3:30Speaker 1: working already already you're on all my vinyls are fucking ah.
- 3:34Speaker 1: That's the smartest thing you've said ever. You're thinking this
- 3:38Speaker 1: is gonna be an episode BP and Ship. This argument
- 3:42Speaker 1: might be really interesting. I'm ready. What are we going
- 3:45Speaker 1: to argue about today, Jake?
- 3:47Speaker 4: We are arguing about do soul mates exist? Oh, this
- 3:51Speaker 4: one's a bit tricky.
- 3:52Speaker 1: What do you want? What do you actually believe before
- 3:55Speaker 1: we get We're arguing one singular soul mate? Yeah, like okay,
- 3:59Speaker 1: one single cell mate? Yeah, meant to be your one? Yeah.
- 4:02Speaker 1: One of us is arguing that there's one person for
- 4:04Speaker 1: you in the whole world, and.
- 4:04Speaker 4: Now there's arguing that there is multiple basically or none
- 4:07Speaker 4: or none. I mean, I know some people that would
- 4:11Speaker 4: be hard to be hard to deal with.
- 4:13Speaker 1: You can go toxic. What do you want? Okay? I
- 4:15Speaker 1: actually don't. No, I think either way I can. I'm
- 4:19Speaker 1: just in a good mood. Well, what do you believe
- 4:21Speaker 1: in before one of us gets toxic? I think there's
- 4:24Speaker 1: multiple people? Like, yeah, like if if being realistic, yeah,
- 4:28Speaker 1: if Beth and I broke up, I would be it'd
- 4:30Speaker 1: be pretty crazy to think there's no one else out there. Yeah,
- 4:34Speaker 1: you know, not that I not that. I don't I
- 4:38Speaker 1: know means is it going to happen? Yeah, but it's
- 4:41Speaker 1: what you know. It's my dad. He was with my mum,
- 4:45Speaker 1: had two kids, got divorced, he was with another lady,
- 4:49Speaker 1: my beautiful step mom Kate, two more kids. I don't
- 4:52Speaker 1: think he regrets it. Yeah, No, I really think, like
- 4:56Speaker 1: there's plenty of soul mates and it's just who you
- 4:59Speaker 1: are lucky enough to you connect with.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Like, I think there's multiple people that you are compatible with. Yeah,
- 5:04Speaker 1: but like maybe you just don't cross paths. Agreed, But
- 5:08Speaker 1: that's too healthy. Fuck that. Let's argue. Okay, call it
- 5:12Speaker 1: in the air. Do you what do you want? I
- 5:14Speaker 1: want there aren't soulmates. Let's go tales.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Tales.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Oh it's tales. Oh so I get it. I'm arguing
- 5:23Speaker 1: that there is one person for you. Yeah, I always start,
- 5:26Speaker 1: You can start.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, yeah, Addie could be a hot take, But
- 5:34Speaker 2: I uh, I.
- 5:37Speaker 4: Think that soulmates are I think soulmates are a thing,
- 5:41Speaker 4: one person.
- 5:41Speaker 1: For you in this world, your whole life, for your
- 5:44Speaker 1: entire life.
- 5:45Speaker 4: I think there is one person for you in this world,
- 5:47Speaker 4: and I think some people are lucky enough to just
- 5:49Speaker 4: just so happen to cross paths with that one person.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Interesting, I disagree completely. Actually, what do you think there's
- 5:57Speaker 1: only one person when there's how many people in the world,
- 6:00Speaker 1: like eighty billion or some shit, eight billion, eight billion.
- 6:04Speaker 1: First of all, that thing that shot did nothing for you,
- 6:07Speaker 1: eighty eight billion, same thing. There's eight billion people in
- 6:10Speaker 1: the world, and you think there's only one person that's
- 6:13Speaker 1: right for you. First of all, that's half that Why
- 6:17Speaker 1: because speaking from two heterosexual males here, for me, I
- 6:22Speaker 1: only have half of that as an option. A soul
- 6:24Speaker 1: doesn't include gender mate. Let's not get tricky. Shot through
- 6:31Speaker 1: the fine the SHOT's working mate. A soul is what
- 6:36Speaker 1: makes you up, doesn't have anything. I think.
- 6:37Speaker 4: It's so like, I don't want to sit here thinking
- 6:40Speaker 4: to myself, well with one person, Oh, there's there's plenty
- 6:44Speaker 4: of other people out there for me though, just because
- 6:45Speaker 4: there's eight billion people in the world. When I'm with
- 6:48Speaker 4: this person, this is my soul mate, this is the
- 6:49Speaker 4: person I'm with. This is when I see a future with,
- 6:51Speaker 4: who I want to have kids with, who I want
- 6:53Speaker 4: to buy a house with, who I want to grow
- 6:54Speaker 4: old with and sleep together with.
- 6:56Speaker 1: I say your point, I just think there's capability. You're
- 7:00Speaker 1: lucky enough to have found one person that you share
- 7:03Speaker 1: the same soul with and there's no one else. But
- 7:05Speaker 1: I think you can experience that same feeling with multiple people,
- 7:08Speaker 1: but you just happen to cross the path with your
- 7:11Speaker 1: said one you're dealing with now. And if you're lucky
- 7:13Speaker 1: enough to stay with said person the whole time, good work.
- 7:17Speaker 1: But a lot of people aren't lucky enough, and they
- 7:19Speaker 1: can move on to another person or another soul that
- 7:21Speaker 1: shares the same values. That means they haven't met their
- 7:25Speaker 1: soul mate yet. They haven't met their soul mate.
- 7:27Speaker 4: So people that are with someone that believe this is
- 7:29Speaker 4: one of my soulmates, crazy to think, by the way, Yeah,
- 7:33Speaker 4: I believe that they just haven't met their soul mate. Yeah,
- 7:35Speaker 4: that person was not one of their soul mates. That
- 7:36Speaker 4: was just one of the people that was a chapter
- 7:38Speaker 4: in their book of life.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Okay, because a soul mate, When you meet a soulmate, okay,
- 7:43Speaker 1: it's instantaneous, and it's not nothing to do with like
- 7:47Speaker 1: how you guys, how you guys talk to each other
- 7:49Speaker 1: in personalities connect and the way you kiss and the
- 7:51Speaker 1: way you have sex. It's nothing to do with that.
- 7:52Speaker 1: It's your souls intertwining. And when you feel that at
- 7:56Speaker 1: first glance with a stranger. Then you know scenario soul mate.
- 8:01Speaker 1: What if you just experience all of that, right, you've
- 8:06Speaker 1: been doing it for a few years, and then just
- 8:08Speaker 1: out of nowhere, you and your soul starts to experience
- 8:12Speaker 1: growth and your soul starts to be distant from the
- 8:15Speaker 1: person that I've only got one person. Does that mean
- 8:18Speaker 1: you're going to be sad for the rest of your
- 8:19Speaker 1: life and you can't find anyone else because you've grown
- 8:21Speaker 1: as a person. This person is my soulmate. We are
- 8:23Speaker 1: meant to be again. We're going to grow together. But
- 8:25Speaker 1: you're now clashing because she's not growing. Man, But that
- 8:28Speaker 1: means she's not my soulmate. But she was your soul
- 8:31Speaker 1: mate and you grew. That means incorrect. Yeah, tell for
- 8:35Speaker 1: three years she was your soulmate. No she was not.
- 8:37Speaker 1: I thought she was my soulmate. But if we're growing apart,
- 8:40Speaker 1: then I have to come to terms of the fact
- 8:41Speaker 1: that this is not my soulmate and I have not
- 8:42Speaker 1: met I have not met my soul mate. I think
- 8:44Speaker 1: it was clearly not the one person for me. I
- 8:46Speaker 1: feel like that's like contradictory of yourself. So basically, you're
- 8:49Speaker 1: going about life and if it doesn't work, you're like, no,
- 8:52Speaker 1: they weren't the one. They weren't the soul mate. Clearly
- 8:54Speaker 1: they weren't because we're not together, but you thought they were.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Where's the line just when you break up that they weren't.
- 9:01Speaker 1: That is the life. That is the clearest day why
- 9:04Speaker 1: I think it works, as there's more than one soul mates. Not, no,
- 9:06Speaker 1: they weren't the one. They were your soulmate for the
- 9:08Speaker 1: time of life you thought they were, and then you
- 9:10Speaker 1: moved on to another person or another soul exactly, Yeah,
- 9:15Speaker 1: but they were, so that means you had two souls.
- 9:17Speaker 1: That means that you have to come to terms with
- 9:18Speaker 1: the fact that that was not actually my soulmate. I
- 9:21Speaker 1: thought it was.
- 9:21Speaker 4: But I was wrong because I grew, and I'm accepting growth,
- 9:24Speaker 4: and I'm accepting I was wrong because I'm mature, all right, okay,
- 9:27Speaker 4: And I am not dying on the hill that that
- 9:29Speaker 4: was my soulmate because clearly that is not my soulmate
- 9:31Speaker 4: because we are not together anymore.
- 9:32Speaker 1: Why don't you accept and grow that you can have
- 9:34Speaker 1: more than one soul mate in your.
- 9:35Speaker 4: Life, because that's not an acceptance and growth because a
- 9:37Speaker 4: soul mate. The definition of soul mate one soul?
- 9:41Speaker 1: Is it one soul? Is that really? If I am
- 9:43Speaker 1: a sole person, I'm one person. Yeah, well, we don't
- 9:47Speaker 1: have souls mates. I feel like we don't have souls plural.
- 9:50Speaker 1: I feel like your attitude going through life is you're
- 9:52Speaker 1: going to be a lonely soul for the rest of
- 9:54Speaker 1: your life. I am not. Yeah, I am not too
- 9:58Speaker 1: toxic for me, mate, Our souls aren't intertwined anymore. What
- 10:02Speaker 1: about soul mates who aren't relationships, who aren't having sex?
- 10:08Speaker 1: That's that's again fine print. What fine? Don't bring up
- 10:12Speaker 1: fine print? Mad? You say we're soul mates. Yes, as friends,
- 10:15Speaker 1: we are sold. We are friend soulmates. What about you
- 10:17Speaker 1: and Beth soulmate soulmates? You sound so there's different categories.
- 10:23Speaker 1: You sound dumb right now. You can't be bringing up
- 10:27Speaker 1: different categories into this. I'm winning babies, Yes, I'm winning.
- 10:32Speaker 1: That's bullshit. You're bringing up different categories. Yeah, mate, that's
- 10:35Speaker 1: what happens when you have more than one soul mate.
- 10:37Speaker 1: You can't change the definition of what you're fighting for
- 10:40Speaker 1: because you because you could sit here and say that, yeah,
- 10:42Speaker 1: you have more than one so mate, because you have
- 10:43Speaker 1: a friend, so Ma and a girl and a and
- 10:45Speaker 1: a partner. So if you don't like the conversation, change it.
- 10:47Speaker 1: That's what I just did. Now I'm winning toxic exactly.
- 10:51Speaker 1: This is fucking bullshit. I'm you out on it, mate.
- 10:55Speaker 1: If I was on a debating team, I just took
- 10:57Speaker 1: you on a journey. If you want a debating judges
- 10:59Speaker 1: would be like, you're gas lighting. That's how you debate.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Slam dug. This debating you only get to speak of
- 11:04Speaker 1: fucking slam dug facts, slam duck. You don't get to
- 11:07Speaker 1: do ifsand or Maybes. Yeah, you do, know you do.
- 11:10Speaker 1: There's no hypotheticals in debate. The whole argument about soul
- 11:13Speaker 1: mates is a hypothetical, like they might not even exist. Ah,
- 11:18Speaker 1: it's good to argue. Get the brain flowing, mate, The
- 11:20Speaker 1: brain's on fire today with these shots. Then the argument.
- 11:23Speaker 1: We're ready to chat. Do have a bit of the
- 11:25Speaker 1: aftertaste of it? Yeah, it's a bit. I might need
- 11:27Speaker 1: to take a sip of water, to be honest. It
- 11:29Speaker 1: was a bit like it's something to the throat. But Jake,
- 11:35Speaker 1: we've been having a lot of things go on behind
- 11:37Speaker 1: the scenes, and I wanted to bring one up and
- 11:41Speaker 1: bring everyone, all the baddies in on particularly your life.
- 11:46Speaker 1: I mean, I'm sure I can handle it myself. No,
- 11:53Speaker 1: I don't think you would want to handle this one yourself.
- 11:56Speaker 1: I want to take everyone on a journey through Australian
- 11:59Speaker 1: culture and then also Jake's life. So in Australia, what
- 12:05Speaker 1: happens for men usually in about year ten a lot
- 12:09Speaker 1: of them drop out and become trades carpenters, plumbers, sparkys
- 12:15Speaker 1: and this one to my right did this thing became
- 12:19Speaker 1: a carpenter a builder for people who are in Australia,
- 12:22Speaker 1: he doesn't play carpet Everyone says that you're a carpet
- 12:26Speaker 1: layer way coler than that. I don't know how to
- 12:29Speaker 1: put an out. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But a running joke
- 12:33Speaker 1: in Australian and society is once these carpenters leave school,
- 12:39Speaker 1: they kind of forget how to socialize or something like that.
- 12:42Speaker 1: They don't know how to talk to girls, and once
- 12:44Speaker 1: they get Ada nineteen twenty, they stereotypically date girls who
- 12:49Speaker 1: are still in school. Yeah, because that's where their intellectual
- 12:53Speaker 1: level has been left. Yes, And there's a big joke
- 12:56Speaker 1: where these trade's pick up their girlfriends from school when
- 13:00Speaker 1: they're like twenty and it's a bit weird. And Jake
- 13:02Speaker 1: hasn't done this, obviously, we all know his girlfriend. But
- 13:06Speaker 1: what also happens is when these trades hang out with
- 13:09Speaker 1: their younger girlfriends. You normally see these big guys in
- 13:12Speaker 1: five v's shirts getting into a little car with a
- 13:15Speaker 1: red pea plater, which is what you get when you
- 13:17Speaker 1: first get your license as a seventeen year old boy
- 13:20Speaker 1: or girl, which is a funny little sight to see. Yeah,
- 13:24Speaker 1: you can be You're like that guy, you can be
- 13:26Speaker 1: her dad. Yeah. So what I wanted to bring up
- 13:31Speaker 1: for any baddies who see Jake in public. I hope
- 13:34Speaker 1: someone sees this. Jake's girlfriend, congratulations, has just got her license,
- 13:40Speaker 1: her red peas. She's twenty twenty three, she's twenty three.
- 13:44Speaker 1: I swear she's twenty three. Six sixteen seven, she's twenty three.
- 13:50Speaker 1: And going on in Sydney, predominantly you're going to be
- 13:55Speaker 1: seeing a wild Jake getting into probably a very little
- 13:59Speaker 1: guy red pea player. And just so you know, he's
- 14:02Speaker 1: not a creep. It's his girlfriend. But it's a funny sight.
- 14:10Speaker 1: And once I picture it, I'm gonna take a couple
- 14:12Speaker 1: of photos when I see it for the first time.
- 14:15Speaker 1: So it's like, honestly, because Beth and I've been together
- 14:19Speaker 1: for just a bit over a full year now and
- 14:23Speaker 1: just got. I just got.
- 14:24Speaker 4: So it was just so normal for her to not
- 14:26Speaker 4: have her license, like it just became I didn't. I
- 14:29Speaker 4: didn't ever think like, oh my god, it's just like
- 14:31Speaker 4: so weird that you was a twenty three or don't
- 14:33Speaker 4: have your license like it, just like Kenna never really
- 14:34Speaker 4: phased me. And so when she started to say, like
- 14:39Speaker 4: I just really want to get it, like I just
- 14:41Speaker 4: it's like like biggest insecurity telling people I don't have
- 14:45Speaker 4: my license. So she got a few lessons and then
- 14:49Speaker 4: booked it in and I was just when I the
- 14:52Speaker 4: day she took the day of I drove her and
- 14:57Speaker 4: I had Henry when she went to get it, and
- 15:00Speaker 4: it's like a forty five minute test, and so I
- 15:02Speaker 4: dropped her off and then.
- 15:04Speaker 1: She you have you have to supply the car.
- 15:06Speaker 4: Yeah, And so I ended up I took Henry for
- 15:08Speaker 4: a walk around for just forty five minutes, get him
- 15:12Speaker 4: nice and tire.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Did she doing the Crawler? Yeah, she didn't. Joanna's car
- 15:16Speaker 1: and I got a.
- 15:17Speaker 4: I get a phone call when she's done, and I
- 15:20Speaker 4: was like shit, I was like fuck.
- 15:21Speaker 1: And she just all she said was I'm done. Where
- 15:24Speaker 1: are you?
- 15:24Speaker 4: And I was like, oh, I'm I'm just over like
- 15:26Speaker 4: near this shot. Oh are you just out of the front.
- 15:29Speaker 4: She's like yeah yeah. I was like I'll be there
- 15:30Speaker 4: a second.
- 15:30Speaker 1: And she didn't tell me whether she got it. Did
- 15:32Speaker 1: your past No, I didn't, and I was kind of
- 15:34Speaker 1: like shit, shitch okay, I don't know why. I was
- 15:36Speaker 1: like nervous for her. So then I'm walking over with
- 15:38Speaker 1: Henry and she's facing away from me, and then she
- 15:41Speaker 1: initially turns around and she shook her head to try
- 15:45Speaker 1: and trick me.
- 15:46Speaker 4: Ah, And she shook her head and I was kind
- 15:48Speaker 4: of just like, ah, well a couple of weeks time
- 15:51Speaker 4: looking in again. But then she kind of she was
- 15:54Speaker 4: just like no, actually I got it. Yeah, I got it,
- 15:57Speaker 4: and I had I went and because where you get
- 16:01Speaker 4: your tests, where you do your test is right near
- 16:04Speaker 4: where our gym is, and then right near there is
- 16:06Speaker 4: a flower shop. So I went with Henry and I
- 16:08Speaker 4: bought a bouquet of flowers for her and as and
- 16:11Speaker 4: I got a little card with it. While she was
- 16:13Speaker 4: doing her test, and I bought the flowers as a
- 16:15Speaker 4: congrats because I was so confident. I was like, I
- 16:17Speaker 4: know she can do this. I know she can do this,
- 16:19Speaker 4: And so when I got the card, I was gonna
- 16:21Speaker 4: write congratulations, but I was like, shit, what if she fails?
- 16:23Speaker 1: So I wrote we love you. It's just just as
- 16:26Speaker 1: because like we love you is good for congrats, and
- 16:28Speaker 1: it's also good for if you failed. Here starting to
- 16:30Speaker 1: make you feel better. It's so open. I'm glad you
- 16:34Speaker 1: had confidence in her, but I did. But I was like, wait,
- 16:38Speaker 1: I don't think I can write that. I can't write
- 16:40Speaker 1: congrats because I don't want to jinx true true. I
- 16:43Speaker 1: kind of feel bad. We got there and it just
- 16:44Speaker 1: like pissing down range. I thought that because I went
- 16:46Speaker 1: to the gym and then I was thinking, oh shit,
- 16:48Speaker 1: because Jake told me she was going for a test.
- 16:50Speaker 1: I was like, oh, not a good day for that.
- 16:51Speaker 1: And it was school zone times and everything, so she
- 16:53Speaker 1: had to take all that into account. Did she get
- 16:55Speaker 1: a reverse parallel or a three point turn? Three point turn?
- 16:59Speaker 1: And she was stressing about the reverse paralyzed. I didn't
- 17:02Speaker 1: get that. I'm glad I didn't. I didn't get one,
- 17:04Speaker 1: and I I should have, because I still can't do
- 17:06Speaker 1: it neither. I'm so bad. Your car would be hard
- 17:10Speaker 1: to do it. It's hard to do do it. Look,
- 17:13Speaker 1: I lie, I can do it in my car, but
- 17:14Speaker 1: I'm not good at it. Yeah, no, I think I
- 17:16Speaker 1: don't think you need that in life either, Like honestly,
- 17:18Speaker 1: like I can drive a car.
- 17:19Speaker 4: I can I can drive a car. I can park forwards.
- 17:22Speaker 4: I can do a three point turn if I see
- 17:24Speaker 4: a reverse peril of park. And I'm not confident. I'm
- 17:26Speaker 4: just not going to go open exactly. I'm not going
- 17:28Speaker 4: to put anyone behind me through that exactly. It's the
- 17:30Speaker 4: most stressful thing.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Ever, How do you feel being a passenger princess in
- 17:33Speaker 1: best car? Now?
- 17:34Speaker 4: Well, it's kind of weird because I did some driving
- 17:37Speaker 4: with her washers on her ls, just to like get
- 17:39Speaker 4: some time under her belt, you know.
- 17:41Speaker 1: And it's funny, how like because when we did our test,
- 17:44Speaker 1: we only had parents teachers because we were like sixteen seventy.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Because you have your planks. Yeah, my luck. So I'm
- 17:50Speaker 1: allowed to teach how to drive, which I should should
- 17:52Speaker 1: not be able to. I was sitting, I'm sitting in
- 17:54Speaker 1: the passenger seat, and I'm just like, oh fuck, I'm
- 17:57Speaker 1: like feeling how my dad would have fit. And I
- 17:58Speaker 1: remember being like, to my dad's stop stressing. I'm fine,
- 18:01Speaker 1: and she was going, can you stop stressing. I'm like, please,
- 18:05Speaker 1: just fucking you're about to hit that barry, Please move
- 18:08Speaker 1: over with it. You're not close up to the center.
- 18:11Speaker 1: And it doesn't. The thing about it is just because
- 18:13Speaker 1: she now has a pea plate instead of an L plate,
- 18:15Speaker 1: it doesn't feeling different. I still feel stressed as fucking
- 18:18Speaker 1: the car with her. So yesterday when I was in
- 18:21Speaker 1: the car with you driving to the pub, I was
- 18:23Speaker 1: kind of like, this is nice. I was like, I'm
- 18:26Speaker 1: not pressing a fake break. But no, she's She's driven
- 18:32Speaker 1: by herself a couple of times, which is good. So
- 18:35Speaker 1: she hasn't crashed any cars, so I think she's honestly,
- 18:38Speaker 1: she's probably to be fair, like rule wise rules on
- 18:41Speaker 1: the road. She'll probably be better than you and I.
- 18:43Speaker 1: I've got the worst habits now, you're not very good
- 18:45Speaker 1: at it. I just I just like the elderly you get,
- 18:48Speaker 1: the more likely you are to look at your phone. Yeah.
- 18:51Speaker 1: I remember when I was first like nine, and I
- 18:53Speaker 1: was never like that thing's fucking voodoo. I'm not touching that.
- 18:56Speaker 1: She's putting the glove box. Yeah, but now I'm like, oh,
- 18:59Speaker 1: let's go on. Also, because on your pea plates here
- 19:02Speaker 1: Australia is weird. Not everywhere is like this.
- 19:04Speaker 4: So you go at sixteen, you go, you get ye
- 19:06Speaker 4: l plate. You have it for a full year, and
- 19:07Speaker 4: you have to do one hundred and twenty hours of driving.
- 19:10Speaker 1: Before you're allowed to go for your peace. I remember
- 19:12Speaker 1: I forged that.
- 19:12Speaker 4: Fuck yeah, you forge it and then you go and
- 19:14Speaker 4: you do. You do your driving test with the person
- 19:17Speaker 4: that marks you, and that's how you get your red
- 19:18Speaker 4: peas and then you can drive on your own. You
- 19:20Speaker 4: have your red piece for a year and then you
- 19:22Speaker 4: go in and then you have to get a green
- 19:24Speaker 4: peap play don't do that anymore, no more, Green peace
- 19:26Speaker 4: peace are not the thing anymore.
- 19:27Speaker 1: You go straight red too, I'm pretty sure. Yeah. Red,
- 19:30Speaker 1: that's like the new thing. It came in like last year.
- 19:32Speaker 4: No way, because well when we did it, yeah, fuck
- 19:35Speaker 4: a couple, I feel kind of old.
- 19:37Speaker 1: It's changed.
- 19:38Speaker 4: We went from red so and then you have green
- 19:40Speaker 4: peace for two years and so on your piece you
- 19:44Speaker 4: have all these fucking rules you need.
- 19:46Speaker 1: To abide bye, so annoying and regulations and different speed.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Red peas was like ninety mags and then green peas
- 19:52Speaker 1: were one hundred kilometers an hour.
- 19:54Speaker 4: And on our freeways you can you can go one
- 19:55Speaker 4: hundred and ten. Yeah, and it's really weird. But did
- 19:57Speaker 4: you know on Queensland they don't have that.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Yeah, it's weird. How like different states have different rules
- 20:02Speaker 1: and we're so like we're the same country, but was
- 20:04Speaker 1: like sort of different. It's a weird day.
- 20:05Speaker 4: And in in Canada, you have your L for a year.
- 20:09Speaker 4: You don't have to get any certain amount of hours.
- 20:11Speaker 4: You could you could get your L on March sixteenth,
- 20:13Speaker 4: twenty twenty two, and on March sixteenth, twenty twenty four, sorry,
- 20:16Speaker 4: twenty twenty three.
- 20:17Speaker 1: You can go for your it's called an N, not
- 20:19Speaker 1: a P. You can go for your N. Yeah, and
- 20:21Speaker 1: you have you could have not driven once. You can
- 20:23Speaker 1: go for it. Yeah, they don't. They don't need to
- 20:25Speaker 1: see proof of experience. That's so funny. It's weird talking
- 20:28Speaker 1: about driving. I just finished the New f One Drive
- 20:31Speaker 1: to Survive and this season. To be honest, anyone who's
- 20:34Speaker 1: watched it a bit mid it was all right, next
- 20:36Speaker 1: season should be good. Lewis Hamilton's Shine for Ferrari, which
- 20:39Speaker 1: would be interesting. So it's coming out next year. Yeah yeah,
- 20:42Speaker 1: I spammed it and it was like normally I love it,
- 20:43Speaker 1: but this some was just like a bit murder. But
- 20:45Speaker 1: what I couldn't comprehend is I can't remember which team
- 20:48Speaker 1: it was. It might have been like our Pinal Hass
- 20:50Speaker 1: or someone. They signed a driver who doesn't have their
- 20:53Speaker 1: license because they're so young and they're going to be
- 20:55Speaker 1: driving in the F one next year. How crazy is that?
- 20:59Speaker 2: What?
- 20:59Speaker 1: Yeah? And all heaps of drivers, like all those people
- 21:02Speaker 1: in like the F two or whatever the other leagues
- 21:04Speaker 1: are called, don't have their license because they grew up
- 21:07Speaker 1: on go karts and then drive like the little fucking whatever,
- 21:09Speaker 1: The little F one cars are f fucking twelve car
- 21:11Speaker 1: F two Yeah yeah, yeah yeah. And then a guy
- 21:14Speaker 1: designed who's seventy to sixteen. He was seventeen next year
- 21:17Speaker 1: for the F one team crazy and he's not even
- 21:20Speaker 1: old enough to legally drive on a road, but he
- 21:22Speaker 1: can drive, he can race an F one car. I think, actually, okay, look, if.
- 21:27Speaker 4: That's going to be something that is allowed, I do
- 21:30Speaker 4: think that just purely because of how much work he
- 21:35Speaker 4: has obviously put in, wouldn't have been easy to get there.
- 21:38Speaker 4: He's young as fuck, young ass should say, and I
- 21:43Speaker 4: think that wherever he lives, that government there should be
- 21:47Speaker 4: a thing that all countries recognize as a government, and
- 21:50Speaker 4: it's if you can become a professional racer before you're
- 21:54Speaker 4: allowed to get a license, you should just default. No
- 21:56Speaker 4: testing this, You just get a license because you're better
- 21:59Speaker 4: than everyone on the.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Road, honestly, honestly, and but like some people pass these
- 22:04Speaker 1: tests and they're the worst drivers I've ever seen in
- 22:05Speaker 1: my life.
- 22:06Speaker 4: My dad was telling me about my younger sister. She's seventeen,
- 22:10Speaker 4: and she.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Says, runs in your family, your older sister, it's not
- 22:14Speaker 1: very good. Na, she's terrifying.
- 22:17Speaker 4: But so my younger sister she she's not terrifying. She's
- 22:22Speaker 4: very very slow, which is good because she's safe. But
- 22:26Speaker 4: Dad said, it's really funny. She's also she's bitch. Now
- 22:31Speaker 4: He's like, he go, yeah, she just is so fucking slow,
- 22:35Speaker 4: and so she will drive up to a roundabout you
- 22:41Speaker 4: know how you give way to you right, Yeah, it's
- 22:44Speaker 4: just like the community rule in Australia. You know how
- 22:47Speaker 4: like if you're driving up at fifty, you won't slow down,
- 22:50Speaker 4: you know, you'll look and if there's no one coming,
- 22:52Speaker 4: you just go straight through.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Regardless. She'll pull up to a stop at every roundabout
- 22:57Speaker 1: and then look and then go. Really yeah, was like
- 23:00Speaker 1: it's the most punishing thing to sit through. And then
- 23:04Speaker 1: also when she goes to park, it's very you can
- 23:08Speaker 1: picture like slogan, you can picture how you're supposed to
- 23:11Speaker 1: go in. You know.
- 23:12Speaker 4: She just it just hasn't clicked yet, so a bit
- 23:15Speaker 4: more time, I assume it will. But he's explaining all
- 23:18Speaker 4: this thing, all this stuff she does in the car,
- 23:19Speaker 4: and I'm thinking, how did you pass the test?
- 23:21Speaker 1: They passed some bad drivers honestly, and talking about bad
- 23:25Speaker 1: drivers on my way here this morning, mate, you should
- 23:29Speaker 1: be lucky that I'm here. I almost died for real. Yeah,
- 23:32Speaker 1: this is the dumbest thing I've ever seen in my life.
- 23:34Speaker 1: So coming to Jake's house, I live about ten minutes away.
- 23:37Speaker 1: I'm pulling up from Collins onto like left onto Keep
- 23:40Speaker 1: three points, which is like a left hand main road,
- 23:42Speaker 1: upper hill, a bit of a hill start for a
- 23:45Speaker 1: manual car. Yeah, which is fine. I do it like
- 23:47Speaker 1: every fucking day. Anyway, there's this car coming up, one
- 23:49Speaker 1: of those mobile mechanic cars, and it says, yeah, loub Mobile.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Crazy name, by the way, lou Mobile. I have always that,
- 23:57Speaker 1: I've seen that business everyone, and I'm thinking, that's that's stupid,
- 24:00Speaker 1: that's a piss take, that's absolute pistake. And I thought
- 24:02Speaker 1: that when I looked at it, and then at the
- 24:03Speaker 1: bottom of the car it has these little like hazard
- 24:08Speaker 1: lights sort of like an ambulance, flashing on and off,
- 24:10Speaker 1: on and off, on and off. Yeah, I'm like, I didn't.
- 24:13Speaker 1: I thought it was his fucking blinker because it went
- 24:16Speaker 1: but it was a hazard whent a hazard light and
- 24:18Speaker 1: it's going left left right right, left, left, right right,
- 24:20Speaker 1: but I only sort of left left, so I thought
- 24:21Speaker 1: it was turning because it was the blinker, And I'm like,
- 24:24Speaker 1: why the fuck there's a mobile mechanic need hazard lights? Yeah,
- 24:28Speaker 1: like maybe when it parks, But I'm like, this guy's drove
- 24:30Speaker 1: maybe forgot to turn them off. And I'm like, I
- 24:31Speaker 1: almost went out and fucking had a head on with
- 24:33Speaker 1: it when he's driving on the road with his hazards on. Yeah,
- 24:36Speaker 1: And I'm like it was that's his problem. Left left,
- 24:38Speaker 1: right right, and I thought it looked it was the
- 24:39Speaker 1: same color of as a blinker. And I'm like, oh
- 24:40Speaker 1: my god, almost just die. That's that's his fucking problem
- 24:44Speaker 1: because it has Every car has hazard lights if you
- 24:47Speaker 1: pull over inside of the road, and these were big
- 24:48Speaker 1: because he's a mobile mechanic or whatever. These were like,
- 24:51Speaker 1: look like a blinker. That's what I was thinking. I
- 24:52Speaker 1: was like, what the fuck, dumb? And you know what's
- 24:55Speaker 1: annoying is it would have been your fault because you
- 24:58Speaker 1: were pulling out onto a main road him and then
- 25:00Speaker 1: I was driving behind him and I was just looking
- 25:01Speaker 1: at that loubmobile. So I was like, what a ship name?
- 25:05Speaker 1: Start to say? What every decision he's ever made? Yeah,
- 25:09Speaker 1: work for Loom. Yeah yeah, you're fucking lubin there. We
- 25:14Speaker 1: know you haven't sex in that car. Fuck off. That's
- 25:18Speaker 1: so funny. Yeah, no, I don't trying to.
- 25:21Speaker 4: So it's really weird to think about people getting their license. Actually,
- 25:25Speaker 4: like my younger sister, she's seventeen. It's just so weird.
- 25:32Speaker 4: It's kind of because because I'm seven years older than her,
- 25:35Speaker 4: kind of is a taste, I guess of what it's
- 25:39Speaker 4: going to be like when your parents when your kids
- 25:41Speaker 4: starts to drive and stuff, because I still think of
- 25:45Speaker 4: her like our parents probably still think of us as
- 25:47Speaker 4: their kid. Obviously maybe not their baby, you know, but
- 25:50Speaker 4: like their kid. And I think of my younger sister
- 25:53Speaker 4: as and my young brother in Canada he also has
- 25:55Speaker 4: his license, like I think of them as like my
- 25:56Speaker 4: younger my little siblings. So yeah, my younger sister in
- 26:00Speaker 4: Canada just turned sixteen.
- 26:01Speaker 1: And she got her l plates crazy, and I just
- 26:04Speaker 1: think it's just you don't You're not ready. When I
- 26:08Speaker 1: was sixteen, I was ready, all right, but it's just
- 26:11Speaker 1: you're just not ready. Stay my little sibling. You're a
- 26:14Speaker 1: trading picking up girls and your sucking red peace.
- 26:17Speaker 4: To be fair, I was, I was. I was the
- 26:20Speaker 4: age of how old was I? I was the age
- 26:24Speaker 4: of a year eleven kid? Well, because when I left
- 26:27Speaker 4: school I had a girlfriend, so I was a trade
- 26:29Speaker 4: with a girlfriend at.
- 26:30Speaker 1: School still, but I was the age of I should
- 26:33Speaker 1: have still been at school. So you've always you've always
- 26:35Speaker 1: liked the look of being a bit like a little creeper.
- 26:37Speaker 1: A I never picked up, I don't think, probably sure,
- 26:44Speaker 1: because I was working. I was working, I was busy.
- 26:48Speaker 1: She had to catch them. I was providing to catch
- 26:50Speaker 1: the lass addie. Time for or dilemmas. We need one
- 27:02Speaker 1: of those sounds like you know how I've been doing
- 27:04Speaker 1: sounds for like hot Tex, Patreon plug the Sorry, guys,
- 27:08Speaker 1: what's a dilemma? Sounds like we need to think actually
- 27:11Speaker 1: we need to think of one. Yeah, it's a dilemma
- 27:13Speaker 1: like something like a problem, something like boys and girls
- 27:16Speaker 1: can't be friends. I really want I want a button
- 27:19Speaker 1: system somewhere that one of us can access. Right, so
- 27:21Speaker 1: when we when we have like when we say dilemmas,
- 27:24Speaker 1: will press it and then we know it's time for dilemmas.
- 27:26Speaker 1: The anything I'm thinking of is like a jingle like
- 27:28Speaker 1: the dilemma. Yeah, it's been positive, but a dilemma is
- 27:32Speaker 1: always like when you say I have a dilemma, it's
- 27:33Speaker 1: a bad thing. Yeah, it's a negative connotation towards it.
- 27:36Speaker 1: And something that's a bit like any thoughts. Let us
- 27:39Speaker 1: know in the comments what sort of sounds like, surely,
- 27:44Speaker 1: what's that sound when it's like a bad joke on
- 27:46Speaker 1: the drum? Like no, it's like when there's a good joke,
- 27:52Speaker 1: when there's a joke. Dilemmas.
- 27:57Speaker 4: Okay, guys, but you know what to do in the
- 27:59Speaker 4: descript of this episode or it is also in the
- 28:03Speaker 4: link in our Instagram bio. It's where you can submit
- 28:06Speaker 4: the dilemmas. All anonymous. Okay, Hi guys. I've been dating
- 28:11Speaker 4: my boyfriend for a few months and we're starting to
- 28:14Speaker 4: introduce each other.
- 28:15Speaker 1: To our friend groups. Now exciting.
- 28:17Speaker 4: I want my partner to meet one of my guy
- 28:19Speaker 4: friends who I am quite close with. Ooh, not excittly
- 28:22Speaker 4: guess what's coming next. But he and I hooked up
- 28:26Speaker 4: one time, Oh my god, in brackets, just making out
- 28:31Speaker 4: before my boyfriend and I got together. It was a
- 28:34Speaker 4: one time thing, and afterwards I realized there was no
- 28:37Speaker 4: romantic spark between me and my friend, and we mutually
- 28:41Speaker 4: agreed on that.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Did you one.
- 28:44Speaker 4: I'm wondering if before my boyfriend meets this guy, yes,
- 28:47Speaker 4: I should tell him we've hooked up. I love my
- 28:51Speaker 4: boyfriend and don't want to hurt him, but also I
- 28:54Speaker 4: don't want to lie to him.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Is it better for him to know or not? Big
- 28:57Speaker 1: fan of the pod, Thanks for your help. All jokes aside.
- 29:03Speaker 1: Very healthy that you're asking this question and thinking about it.
- 29:05Speaker 1: You're thinking about it, Yeah, you're not going into it
- 29:08Speaker 1: blind and not doing anything. So I think this is
- 29:10Speaker 1: very healthy. I would say he has a right to
- 29:12Speaker 1: know because he is going to make a better decision
- 29:16Speaker 1: about the guy after meeting him if he knows that
- 29:20Speaker 1: you've changed liquids. Yeah, you've swapped spit. You've played a
- 29:25Speaker 1: bit of tonsil hockey. I've grown up and they used
- 29:31Speaker 1: to people used to call it tonsil hockey, right, really,
- 29:34Speaker 1: And I was like, now that I've kissed people, yeah, yeah,
- 29:37Speaker 1: you have. I've never gone deep enough to hit a tonsil. No,
- 29:40Speaker 1: that's insane. Imagine that. Let's you have like a lizard.
- 29:43Speaker 1: I reckon. Barely one third of my tongue goes in
- 29:45Speaker 1: BET's mouth when we kiss. No, it's just like an
- 29:47Speaker 1: intimate little I've had to be fair. I've made people
- 29:50Speaker 1: shove shit down my throat and I'm like, I can't breathe.
- 29:56Speaker 1: I've had that too, And you got to like sort
- 29:58Speaker 1: of like push him back. Yeah, Like the grossest feeling
- 30:01Speaker 1: in the world is accidentally brushing your tongue across their teeth. Yeah,
- 30:05Speaker 1: you're doing this willingly. Yeah. I feel like some people
- 30:09Speaker 1: like like the how like aggressive it is. They feel
- 30:13Speaker 1: like it's more passionate.
- 30:15Speaker 2: That's what it is.
- 30:15Speaker 1: Oh god, it's like a workout. Yeah, I'm thinking I
- 30:18Speaker 1: know the exact person. I haven't thought about that person
- 30:21Speaker 1: in ages. I'm thinking, I'm like, what the funk that
- 30:24Speaker 1: was the worst kiss of my life. Shit. So back
- 30:28Speaker 1: to our resident baddie, I actually have a couple of thoughts.
- 30:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I think there's a couple of things right that
- 30:38Speaker 4: obviously you need. So first off, definitely tell your boyfriend. Yes,
- 30:42Speaker 4: I think that what happens when you are friends with
- 30:48Speaker 4: someone and then it goes to a level of where
- 30:51Speaker 4: you've kissed, right, there was obviously a second there when
- 30:55Speaker 4: you guys saw each other as more than friends. Yeah,
- 30:58Speaker 4: because friends aren't going to kiss, friends aren't gonna have sex,
- 31:01Speaker 4: friends aren't gonna, you know, like really like, friends will hug,
- 31:06Speaker 4: friends will high five.
- 31:08Speaker 1: But I think like and also a kiss on the
- 31:10Speaker 1: cheek actually as a greeting, because on the cheek, but
- 31:13Speaker 1: not not sensual, no, no, no, But when you make out,
- 31:17Speaker 1: that's the line. That is the line where you guys
- 31:20Speaker 1: looked at each other as more than friends. Okay, you
- 31:23Speaker 1: may not see each other as more than friends anymore,
- 31:26Speaker 1: but there was a time where you did so when
- 31:29Speaker 1: that decision was made to kiss. At the same time,
- 31:33Speaker 1: there was also a decision made subconsciously, or maybe more
- 31:37Speaker 1: of a decision that was made that you need to
- 31:39Speaker 1: accept that now that you have a boyfriend, unless you look,
- 31:44Speaker 1: unless he's totally fine with it, but out of respect
- 31:47Speaker 1: and out of not wanting to put him in a
- 31:49Speaker 1: bad situation or a tricky situation, you kind of have to.
- 31:53Speaker 1: You can tell, you can say that this guy's your friend. Yeah,
- 31:56Speaker 1: but like.
- 31:56Speaker 4: Hanging out with him one on one and like maybe
- 31:58Speaker 4: some constant messaging with him, it's gonna make your boyfriend
- 32:01Speaker 4: feel icky for a good reason, especially because you need
- 32:03Speaker 4: to tell him that you guys have kissed in the past.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Yes, I think so too. You really have to go
- 32:08Speaker 1: through the appropriate steps of steps of telling him so,
- 32:11Speaker 1: explain exactly what you told us. He'll probably feel fine
- 32:14Speaker 1: about it, but if he does feel a bit icky,
- 32:16Speaker 1: like Jake said, of you hanging out one on one,
- 32:18Speaker 1: like fair enough, And I don't know as soon as
- 32:23Speaker 1: you do kiss someone, like I know, I've been in
- 32:26Speaker 1: the it's weird. So when you first start talking to
- 32:29Speaker 1: a girl, you don't really know if you're in the
- 32:31Speaker 1: talking stages or not, and then you both sort of
- 32:34Speaker 1: allude to the fact that, like, we're friends, but then
- 32:36Speaker 1: you both sort of also know that you're kind of
- 32:39Speaker 1: flirting a lot. Yeah, but you tell everyone your friends
- 32:41Speaker 1: a night out, you'll be flirting the fuck out of
- 32:43Speaker 1: each other and eventually, like, either it goes the distance
- 32:48Speaker 1: or it doesn't. But even when the relationship starts with
- 32:50Speaker 1: you just like flirting and kissing, were they ever your friend? See,
- 32:55Speaker 1: that's the thing I think about as well. Is And
- 32:57Speaker 1: also another thing to think about is how you said
- 32:59Speaker 1: that you guys mutually agree that there is no spark
- 33:01Speaker 1: between you. Yeah.
- 33:02Speaker 4: Again, you guys could both have mutually agreed on that
- 33:06Speaker 4: or you said it and he just was like, okay,
- 33:09Speaker 4: well I need to say face yeah, And I also
- 33:11Speaker 4: will say it because I don't want to lose her
- 33:13Speaker 4: all together.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Yeah, and like to be fair of the guy. If
- 33:16Speaker 1: I was kissing a girl and a couple days later
- 33:18Speaker 1: she's like, oh I just didn't feel anything, I was like,
- 33:19Speaker 1: oh yeah, I would also say the same face yeah.
- 33:22Speaker 1: And in the background I could just be like fuck
- 33:24Speaker 1: that was good. Yeah, fuck that was good and you
- 33:27Speaker 1: and this and what he could be thinking is just
- 33:29Speaker 1: gonna give her time. Yeah, I'm just gonna wait, wait
- 33:31Speaker 1: for my chance. Yeah, and you're never gonna know that.
- 33:34Speaker 1: And out of respect for your boyfriend being very close
- 33:38Speaker 1: friends with him, we don't know the extending your relationship.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Maybe you're just in a group setting, which is so chill. Yeah,
- 33:42Speaker 1: like that's fine. Groups honestly sleep together all the time. Yeah,
- 33:45Speaker 1: that's not pretty bad. Yeah, mate, when we were growing
- 33:48Speaker 1: up like eight a nineteen, but you guys just kiss
- 33:51Speaker 1: each other and so you guys didn't sleep each other.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, but like how much
- 33:55Speaker 1: different is the actual act of sleeping with someone compared
- 33:58Speaker 1: to kissing? Pretty different? No, yeah, some different actions, I mean,
- 34:02Speaker 1: like fucking like the actions I mean, like the line
- 34:06Speaker 1: crossing of friendship to changing bodily functions. Honestly, I think
- 34:10Speaker 1: that I think that they are on path. Yeah, that's
- 34:12Speaker 1: what I mean. Like, a kiss is an intimate connection
- 34:15Speaker 1: with someone I know. Sex is obviously a bit more intimate.
- 34:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Like so like say, here's the line.
- 34:19Speaker 4: On your side is huggings on the cheek high five
- 34:22Speaker 4: you know. Yeah, there's no middle line, right, it's just
- 34:26Speaker 4: one line.
- 34:26Speaker 1: And on the other side is like once you kiss.
- 34:28Speaker 1: It's in the same level as have having sex. Paul
- 34:31Speaker 1: was talking about lines for some reason that just round me,
- 34:32Speaker 1: like handball at school. I thought you were about to
- 34:35Speaker 1: say something the drug related, and I was like, holy shit, drugs.
- 34:40Speaker 1: I was thinking about handball. Yeah, well we should have
- 34:43Speaker 1: a game or something. Mate. You know what we should
- 34:46Speaker 1: do is we should we should tee up, like because
- 34:51Speaker 1: even at high school handball was the funnest thing. I reckon,
- 34:54Speaker 1: we should tee up going to a school and we
- 34:59Speaker 1: do a thing, right, but then we have a handball
- 35:01Speaker 1: tournament with the school. That would be actually really see
- 35:04Speaker 1: if we can make it. Remember when like's it Schomo
- 35:06Speaker 1: or which prime minister it was fell over playing handball
- 35:11Speaker 1: one of the schools I think it was. I tell
- 35:13Speaker 1: you what we should do. You know how a lot
- 35:14Speaker 1: of like influencers do boxing and yeah, let's hit each
- 35:17Speaker 1: other in the face. Hate all that tell you what
- 35:19Speaker 1: we should do. We're both really good at ping pong.
- 35:22Speaker 1: We should have like an influenza people will be a
- 35:24Speaker 1: team that influence and teams influence and table tennis tournament
- 35:28Speaker 1: that she'll be fun as because we're fucking good. We
- 35:30Speaker 1: actually know how to play yeah, we'd go. All right,
- 35:32Speaker 1: that'd be fun. Okay, now I'm not gonna lie that
- 35:35Speaker 1: actually just genuinely because of how fun that would be,
- 35:37Speaker 1: I actually want to try it. Yeah, it would be
- 35:38Speaker 1: hard to make it like good to watch because you
- 35:40Speaker 1: need like a proper camera set up. We would need
- 35:42Speaker 1: everything to be proper. But here's another thing, is who
- 35:45Speaker 1: like beause we've got you and I who's going to
- 35:47Speaker 1: be and they'd play? They if they came and did
- 35:49Speaker 1: it, it would be crazy. That would be fun. There we
- 35:52Speaker 1: could do. We mean, well, they're a good duo. They
- 35:56Speaker 1: might not play, but you never know. They might unemployed couldlay.
- 35:59Speaker 1: It's unemployed alpha blokes. They don't love that coordinated. To
- 36:03Speaker 1: be honest, someone's got to be easy to be to be.
- 36:09Speaker 1: I mean just for girls are a duo. We don't
- 36:11Speaker 1: really talk. We've never spoken to them once in our lives.
- 36:14Speaker 1: But I said one versus in Ping Pong, you know
- 36:18Speaker 1: who we could get to go go whole fusion. We
- 36:25Speaker 1: know him him and yeah, fucking love those two. They
- 36:30Speaker 1: were good. They don't have like mainstream faces though, because
- 36:32Speaker 1: to go even though he's like famous Glass five mill
- 36:35Speaker 1: on YouTube, he just doesn't show his face. Yeah, exactly,
- 36:37Speaker 1: but still it's a good idea. So Ping Pong's on
- 36:39Speaker 1: the back burner, mate, Yeah, backburn that's not okay. But
- 36:42Speaker 1: one more thing I want to say about Scomo is
- 36:45Speaker 1: did you do you know about the rumor with him?
- 36:49Speaker 1: A rumor went around that back in the day before
- 36:52Speaker 1: he was Prime minister, but he was working in government.
- 36:55Speaker 1: He shipped himself in a McDonald's. That's relatable. I remember
- 36:59Speaker 1: saying an interview someone brought it up with him. Poor guy.
- 37:02Speaker 1: Someone fully brought it up with him, and he was like, no, this,
- 37:04Speaker 1: this did not happen. Get him to be fair. I
- 37:06Speaker 1: would like to and let's get him on confession sessions.
- 37:09Speaker 1: When you've got to go, you gotta go. He can
- 37:10Speaker 1: be anonymous. He'd be like, what's your name, just like Pomo. Yeah,
- 37:17Speaker 1: but the baddie I reckon. Yeah, tell your boyfriend and
- 37:21Speaker 1: he has the right not to really feel right with
- 37:24Speaker 1: you hanging out with him one on one, but in
- 37:25Speaker 1: a group setting or anything like that, it's fine. Yeah,
- 37:27Speaker 1: and vice versa like goes both ways. Yeah, exactly, Like
- 37:31Speaker 1: if you were out of dinner and then your boyfriend
- 37:34Speaker 1: happened to sleep with one of the girls there. Would
- 37:36Speaker 1: you want to know? Yeah, just out of like when
- 37:38Speaker 1: you're having a conversation with him with her, sorry, yeah,
- 37:41Speaker 1: you would want to know beforehand, probably too, wouldn't you, Like,
- 37:43Speaker 1: I don't think you wouldn't want to know? After the fact,
- 37:46Speaker 1: yeah you want to, Like I'm up and seep, you
- 37:47Speaker 1: can take him? And you wouldn't you want to? You
- 37:48Speaker 1: wouldn't want You wouldn't want to.
- 37:51Speaker 4: You wouldn't want to after the dinner be like, here's
- 37:53Speaker 4: here your boyfriend say, well, you know that that girl
- 37:56Speaker 4: you're sitting next to that.
- 37:57Speaker 1: You've got a lot Yeah, Amy, Yeah, You're like, yeah,
- 38:00Speaker 1: hey me, I actually really liked was like, like, that's
- 38:03Speaker 1: what how you want to find out? You hate? Do
- 38:07Speaker 1: you reckon? You know? Do you ever do this? Do
- 38:08Speaker 1: you ever walk into like a room or like you're
- 38:10Speaker 1: in a room or dinner setting and you think, like,
- 38:12Speaker 1: can I can take everyone here? The fuck is wrong
- 38:15Speaker 1: with you? Do you do that? No? Really, I do
- 38:18Speaker 1: not do that. I feel like that's a masculine thing
- 38:20Speaker 1: to do, Like you just I could take you you
- 38:23Speaker 1: you you No. My question was going to be a
- 38:26Speaker 1: drinking girls do that? Yeah you can? Maybe they go
- 38:29Speaker 1: like I could take you. You you, I don't. I
- 38:32Speaker 1: don't ever look at someone and think I will look
- 38:35Speaker 1: at people you could take anyone. That's what. I don't
- 38:38Speaker 1: look at people that.
- 38:38Speaker 4: I know I could beat in the fire and think
- 38:40Speaker 4: like I could beat them on the fire. I look
- 38:41Speaker 4: at people that are way bigger than me and think
- 38:44Speaker 4: I wonder how I'd go, knowing i'd lose.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I more think of I wonder how I'd go?
- 38:49Speaker 1: How long would I last? Yeah? If I see a
- 38:51Speaker 1: huge person, you don't last long. We know that. Next lever,
- 39:00Speaker 1: Where did Jake go? Let me call him.
- 39:05Speaker 5: You'll call him been he did not?
- 39:07Speaker 1: Just hang up on me. Let me call him again.
- 39:13Speaker 5: What's up?
- 39:14Speaker 1: Where are you? Where'd you go? I'm just out of
- 39:17Speaker 1: the airbnb? What do you mean the airbnb?
- 39:20Speaker 5: Sorry I didn't tell you. I booked a guest's favorite
- 39:22Speaker 5: Airbnb last minute. Couldn't pass it up. You're all good
- 39:26Speaker 5: to finish the episode, right?
- 39:27Speaker 1: What's a guest favorite their airbnb?
- 39:29Speaker 5: Is that other guests of love?
- 39:30Speaker 1: So you know you will too? Well, that sounds fun.
- 39:33Speaker 1: Where are you anyway?
- 39:34Speaker 5: Just a couple hours of the code, and yeah, it
- 39:36Speaker 5: is fun. Our place has a pool, a big garden
- 39:40Speaker 5: two bedrooms, is right near the beach, plus it allows
- 39:43Speaker 5: dogs for.
- 39:44Speaker 1: Henry, did you say two bedrooms anyways? Mate, got to run?
- 39:49Speaker 1: Oh ouch, here's a dilemma. I would love the Baddi's
- 39:54Speaker 1: input on. I've been dating my boyfriend for several months now.
- 39:57Speaker 1: He's everything I've looked for in a man and a partner,
- 40:00Speaker 1: and I'm quite excited about our future together. Recently, I
- 40:03Speaker 1: share that I'm falling in love with him, and his
- 40:05Speaker 1: response was an interesting one. At that I'm still trying
- 40:09Speaker 1: to untangle what in quotes that's a scary word for
- 40:13Speaker 1: me means what I'm going to use that word one day.
- 40:19Speaker 1: All the evidence of my relationship so far suggests he's
- 40:22Speaker 1: in it for the long term, but he minimally talks
- 40:25Speaker 1: about the future in general, and he never has officially
- 40:28Speaker 1: asked me to be his girlfriend. I met his friends,
- 40:31Speaker 1: he's met my friends. We plan dates every week, We've
- 40:34Speaker 1: gone on road trips, doing all the couple things they
- 40:37Speaker 1: would do. I don't know if this just adds complications.
- 40:40Speaker 1: Ninety nine percent of the time, I'm sitting strong in
- 40:43Speaker 1: a secure attachment, but a small part of me worries
- 40:47Speaker 1: if I've given too much of myself and my life
- 40:49Speaker 1: away without any clarity on how he's feeling about us
- 40:54Speaker 1: or feeling scared about falling in love with me. In general,
- 40:57Speaker 1: he's kind of shy, and I want to create a
- 40:59Speaker 1: safe space and welcoming space for him to proceed with
- 41:01Speaker 1: his emotions. I could benefit from hearing about this from
- 41:05Speaker 1: a guy's perspective, especially because I feel like our male
- 41:08Speaker 1: baddies think very differently. Oh, I love that about love
- 41:12Speaker 1: and girls in general. I know in my circles my
- 41:15Speaker 1: guy friends are extremely careful to say words like this too.
- 41:18Speaker 1: Thanks guys, love listening to pods, keep slaying love the baddies.
- 41:24Speaker 4: I think that this is a great reason as to
- 41:27Speaker 4: why guys need to ask her to be their girlfriend.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Really, she hasn't even been asked. Yeah, I know. And
- 41:33Speaker 1: so she said, I'm falling in love with you, and
- 41:36Speaker 1: he said, that's a scary word for me. I'm not
- 41:39Speaker 1: going to use that word today. Terrible response, worst response
- 41:42Speaker 1: you could ever ever say. Could you either love or
- 41:46Speaker 1: you don't? Sometime? How long did you say? How long
- 41:48Speaker 1: it's been several months now, several months. Yeah, it's long
- 41:54Speaker 1: enough to know I'm thinking like road trips, you've done
- 41:57Speaker 1: stuff you've done. I'm not giving him the benefit of doubt,
- 42:00Speaker 1: but say, for example, I'm just trying to untangle what
- 42:04Speaker 1: a mind of a man would be thinking. So you're
- 42:07Speaker 1: the girl, you come to me, we'd be having a
- 42:09Speaker 1: great time. I'm having a great time too. And you
- 42:12Speaker 1: say I think I'm falling in love with you, and
- 42:14Speaker 1: I don't know how I'm feeling, and you've put me
- 42:16Speaker 1: on the spot, not saying you did anything wrong. What
- 42:18Speaker 1: is the appropriate response when I don't know if I
- 42:21Speaker 1: love you or not. And it's not a no that
- 42:23Speaker 1: I don't love you, but I just don't know how
- 42:24Speaker 1: to feel, which is what he said. And I don't
- 42:26Speaker 1: think what he said is very good. But what can
- 42:28Speaker 1: you say when you just don't know how you're feeling,
- 42:30Speaker 1: which is what he's obviously doing.
- 42:31Speaker 4: Here's what okay for someone to have the confidence to
- 42:36Speaker 4: say I'm falling in love with you. They have either
- 42:38Speaker 4: read the room properly, or they have read the room
- 42:42Speaker 4: so far wrong that it's that Why would they say it?
- 42:47Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Yeah, And I want to
- 42:49Speaker 1: trust that the bad he has read it properly, because
- 42:51Speaker 1: I think one what she explained, they've done all the
- 42:55Speaker 1: boyfriend girlfriend's stuff. They've been they have a great time ago,
- 42:57Speaker 1: they've been on fucking camping road trips together and shit
- 43:00Speaker 1: like she has. I'm sorry, I just think that how
- 43:03Speaker 1: can you not know yet? How long are you going
- 43:06Speaker 1: to wait to know? And also when are you going
- 43:07Speaker 1: to ask her to be your girlfriend? Yeah? I think
- 43:10Speaker 1: that's wrong hanging out with a girl longer than a month, Really,
- 43:14Speaker 1: I do.
- 43:15Speaker 4: Honestly, I think that a couple of months in if
- 43:17Speaker 4: you feel strongly enough towards someone where you can say
- 43:20Speaker 4: I'm falling in love with you and they say that's
- 43:22Speaker 4: a scary word for me, I'll use it one day.
- 43:26Speaker 4: I honestly think i'd leave. It'd be I understand it
- 43:29Speaker 4: would be hard. But then that's how do you not
- 43:31Speaker 4: know yet?
- 43:32Speaker 1: Yeah? And I'm just thinking about like, actions do speak
- 43:35Speaker 1: louder than words. And it's so hard for this girl
- 43:38Speaker 1: because he's doing all the boyfriend things, but then he's
- 43:42Speaker 1: kind of scared to make the final commitment across the
- 43:45Speaker 1: line of saying will you be my girlfriend? And I'm
- 43:47Speaker 1: starting to fall in love with you too, which should
- 43:49Speaker 1: be such an exciting thing to experience together. Which he
- 43:53Speaker 1: sounds like he's doing. But he's just scared of the words. Dude.
- 43:56Speaker 1: It's just I don't know, it's just weird. It's like,
- 43:58Speaker 1: how old are they? So I assume they're young, Like yeah,
- 44:01Speaker 1: early twenties and early twenties something like that. How can
- 44:04Speaker 1: we help her though? Like so, I'm thinking in the
- 44:06Speaker 1: back of my mind, so break up with him. No,
- 44:09Speaker 1: I don't think he's a bad guy. Here's my thinking process.
- 44:12Speaker 1: He's not saying he's not saying I don't love you
- 44:16Speaker 1: because he has an ulterior automotive. He's saying it because
- 44:20Speaker 1: he doesn't want to. He's never commit before, and he's
- 44:22Speaker 1: scared of that because he's a shy dude. I'm trying
- 44:25Speaker 1: to read between the lines, and it's a bit relatable
- 44:26Speaker 1: for me, to be honest. I don't think he's a
- 44:28Speaker 1: trash guy and he's like thinking about other girls or
- 44:30Speaker 1: anything like that. I think he's just scared of committing
- 44:33Speaker 1: his emotions because he's never done that to anyone before.
- 44:36Speaker 1: So it's hard for the baddie because she shouldn't have
- 44:41Speaker 1: to wait for someone to be ready. But how can
- 44:45Speaker 1: you approach the situation where he to tell him how
- 44:48Speaker 1: she how it made her feel. Yeah, there we go,
- 44:50Speaker 1: that's good. Yeah, what you said.
- 44:52Speaker 4: He also has to say, like, yeah, she just has
- 44:53Speaker 4: to say it's just that's just I apologize.
- 44:57Speaker 1: But for the amount of effort we've both put in,
- 44:59Speaker 1: that's not secure enough for me. Yes, you have to
- 45:01Speaker 1: because it's not fair.
- 45:03Speaker 4: It's not fair at all, and especially if it hasn't
- 45:04Speaker 4: been brought up again, Like I think you need to
- 45:06Speaker 4: be like, I'm a human being. I need to be
- 45:08Speaker 4: treated with some respect in the sense of like I
- 45:13Speaker 4: need to know, yeah, one.
- 45:14Speaker 1: Hundred percent, you need security in the relationship together, and
- 45:18Speaker 1: like that's what that's kind of like I love you
- 45:20Speaker 1: and will you be my girlfriend? Is security. It's a
- 45:24Speaker 1: sense of like this is good. Yeah, you don't want
- 45:26Speaker 1: someone to feel yeah, I don't know. I just feel
- 45:30Speaker 1: like I look, he may not be a trash dude,
- 45:32Speaker 1: but he I do. I think that it's kind of
- 45:34Speaker 1: like a bit fucking selfish and disrespectful the way he's
- 45:37Speaker 1: gone about this. I think the line is, so you
- 45:40Speaker 1: tell him how you feel, and if he's not ready
- 45:43Speaker 1: to grow some balls or fear himself out, and he
- 45:46Speaker 1: has to make the decision of saying I'm starting the
- 45:48Speaker 1: fall in love of you two or not? Yeap, then
- 45:52Speaker 1: you have to make decision if he can't, yeah, if
- 45:53Speaker 1: you don't want to wait anymore for long for him,
- 45:55Speaker 1: which is fair enough, Like you owe it to yourself
- 45:57Speaker 1: to say, well, I'm not going to wait around you.
- 45:59Speaker 1: If you don't know what you doing, you need to
- 46:00Speaker 1: be fucking alone. Yeah kind of percent. Yeah, yeah, like
- 46:02Speaker 1: you didn't figure out yourself, Like, I'm not just gonna
- 46:04Speaker 1: wait with fucking waiting for you to figure shit out.
- 46:06Speaker 4: I couldn't agree more right last passing a spy exactly,
- 46:09Speaker 4: no legit, I couldn't agree more.
- 46:10Speaker 1: Yeah, there's no point waiting. But I think that's relatable
- 46:13Speaker 1: because a lot of young men I'm talking from experience here,
- 46:17Speaker 1: like I didn't know how to voice how I was
- 46:21Speaker 1: feeling properly. I wouldn't have said something like that, but
- 46:25Speaker 1: I've never been I was never able to convey how
- 46:27Speaker 1: I was feeling, and I was scared of commitment just
- 46:28Speaker 1: because I didn't know how I was feeling. It's not
- 46:30Speaker 1: an excuse for him, it's not fair on you. But
- 46:32Speaker 1: I'm just trying to like get in ahead of him
- 46:33Speaker 1: and be like he just needs a little kick in
- 46:35Speaker 1: the ass, a little bit which you shouldn't have to do.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Hopefully it comes to sensors.
- 46:39Speaker 4: I can see it being a hard thing to be
- 46:40Speaker 4: faced with, Like, you know, someone says I'm falling in
- 46:45Speaker 4: love with you, and if you don't know how you
- 46:47Speaker 4: feel yet, it's just a thing of I mean to
- 46:50Speaker 4: be like, I don't it just he could have said that, right,
- 46:53Speaker 4: and maybe it's not the wrong thing to say, but
- 46:55Speaker 4: it needs to be talked about a lot more in depth,
- 46:56Speaker 4: Like it can't be something that can be where he
- 46:59Speaker 4: gets to say that and then you kind of go, oh, okay,
- 47:02Speaker 4: and then you just keep moving on because now you're
- 47:04Speaker 4: very uncertain. It needs to be something that is talked
- 47:07Speaker 4: about a lot more like, Okay, well do you see yourself?
- 47:09Speaker 4: Is this something you know? I'm not going to sit
- 47:11Speaker 4: here and wait for you forever?
- 47:12Speaker 1: Like when will you be ready? Like because and that's
- 47:15Speaker 1: a valid fucking question.
- 47:16Speaker 4: And someone that's immature is going to say, don't push me, yeah,
- 47:19Speaker 4: And then someone that's mature is going to say, I'm sorry.
- 47:22Speaker 4: I've thought about it. I thought about what you said
- 47:24Speaker 4: and it caught me off guard. But I actually am
- 47:26Speaker 4: like I am falling in love with you, and it
- 47:28Speaker 4: just was. It took me a minute to admit that
- 47:29Speaker 4: to myself.
- 47:30Speaker 1: And sometimes scared, sometimes you need time to reflect. Yeah,
- 47:33Speaker 1: like it's the first time I've fallen in love with someone.
- 47:35Speaker 1: I just wanted to make sure. Yeah, and that's the
- 47:37Speaker 1: best thing you can hear. I'm scared of how I'm feeling.
- 47:39Speaker 1: But I'm falling in love with you. I've never felt
- 47:41Speaker 1: like this before for someone. That's probably a good thing
- 47:42Speaker 1: to hear. That's what you want to hear. Not that's
- 47:45Speaker 1: a scary word. Yeah, I think that.
- 47:47Speaker 4: Yeah, look he's probably got some growing up to do,
- 47:50Speaker 4: but I just think, yeah, you need to bring it
- 47:52Speaker 4: up unfortunately and say it's just not I'm sorry, it's
- 47:54Speaker 4: not good enough, Like it need to be more.
- 47:55Speaker 1: You need to get an answer. Yeah, I need security
- 47:58Speaker 1: in my relationship, all right, Jake. I'm excited for this
- 48:07Speaker 1: next segment because I've wanted to do this for a
- 48:12Speaker 1: really long time and it's sort of progressively been done
- 48:17Speaker 1: in baby steps. Yes, which isn't a bad way to
- 48:19Speaker 1: do things, but little bit of a storyline ages ago,
- 48:25Speaker 1: me and Jake always thinking how can we grow the podcast,
- 48:28Speaker 1: our personal brands and get more people to listen. And
- 48:30Speaker 1: one of the ideas was to start our own shows.
- 48:32Speaker 1: Jake started Passenger Princess. Yeah, going very good. Congratulations, thank
- 48:36Speaker 1: you very much. I actually skipped this week. That's the
- 48:39Speaker 1: bad thing about doing something on your own is you
- 48:41Speaker 1: can skip it and you only have to feel bad
- 48:43Speaker 1: about yourself. There's no accountability. And my idea was to
- 48:49Speaker 1: do my own show called a Glass Half Full with
- 48:51Speaker 1: Otti Clark, and the premise was having a potentially negative
- 48:57Speaker 1: connotation or situation and flipping it's on its head and
- 49:01Speaker 1: looking at it at it as glass half full as
- 49:03Speaker 1: opposed to glass half empty. And what ended up happening
- 49:07Speaker 1: was I tried to record one and how I wanted
- 49:11Speaker 1: it to come across required a lot, a lot of research,
- 49:16Speaker 1: which sounds like a little bit of an excuse, but
- 49:18Speaker 1: the way I wanted to do that was taking away
- 49:21Speaker 1: from time from the relatables. I didn't have the time
- 49:23Speaker 1: to do it. I needed a bit of a minimal
- 49:24Speaker 1: effort thing. So what I ended up doing was just
- 49:26Speaker 1: making clips for my socials with the same sort of premise.
- 49:30Speaker 1: But I still had in the back of my mind
- 49:31Speaker 1: that I wanted to do Glass Half Full, and I
- 49:33Speaker 1: was like, fuck it, let's do it for a segment
- 49:35Speaker 1: on the podcast place to test it. I thought it
- 49:37Speaker 1: was a good premise, like turning a negative situation into
- 49:41Speaker 1: a positive one. Yep. And we tested it on Patreon
- 49:44Speaker 1: a couple of weeks ago. Yeah it look it might
- 49:46Speaker 1: have been a couple of months ago, maybe even, But
- 49:48Speaker 1: I've come back with another glass half full situation. So
- 49:51Speaker 1: this is glass half full with Ottie Clark. We are
- 50:12Speaker 1: in a safe environment now. Okay, so today's glass half
- 50:17Speaker 1: full situation. Jake is never being in a relationship. Okay. Yep,
- 50:25Speaker 1: we get like this, Yep, we get a lot, a
- 50:27Speaker 1: lot of dilemmas. And it starts with I'm nineteen, I'm
- 50:30Speaker 1: twenty three, I'm thirty, and I've never had a first kiss.
- 50:33Speaker 1: I've never been in a relationship. I've never had sex.
- 50:36Speaker 1: Dot dot dot dot. I reckon fifty percent of the
- 50:41Speaker 1: dilemmas could be done. Yes, yes, yes, And the glass
- 50:44Speaker 1: half empty approach is not saying that it's a bad
- 50:47Speaker 1: thing at all. It's like I've never kissed anyone before.
- 50:50Speaker 1: I'm missing out, like I don't know what to do,
- 50:52Speaker 1: like I'm falling behind, I'm falling behind, and in reality
- 50:57Speaker 1: you are not. And here is why. Let's flip it
- 50:59Speaker 1: on it's head, glass half full. Let's go. So. The
- 51:02Speaker 1: first reason why never getting with anyone in any sort
- 51:05Speaker 1: of context is good is because you find a stronger
- 51:09Speaker 1: sense of self. You've had time to focus on your
- 51:11Speaker 1: personal growth, hobbies and goals without any external romantic influencers
- 51:17Speaker 1: shaping your identity. That fucking good one. There's no toxic
- 51:22Speaker 1: man or female in there going I want you to
- 51:25Speaker 1: be like this. You've got no trauma, Yes exactly, they
- 51:27Speaker 1: have no bad experience. You stop stealing my thing. But
- 51:31Speaker 1: a good example, actually, I think you're okay to talk
- 51:33Speaker 1: about it. You talked about it on the pod before,
- 51:35Speaker 1: is that Jake was growing when it was about nineteen
- 51:38Speaker 1: or twenty. Yeah. I love to talk about Jake's life.
- 51:42Speaker 1: What it is. His parents bought him a camera and
- 51:45Speaker 1: he started making videos and as a friend I saw
- 51:48Speaker 1: it and I thought that was cool. But his partner,
- 51:50Speaker 1: you take it away. I don't want to talk about
- 51:52Speaker 1: she said my girlfriend at a time, Yeah, got a
- 51:55Speaker 1: big fight. And then she said something about the videos
- 51:58Speaker 1: and how I'm changing, and I was like, no, I'm
- 52:02Speaker 1: not changing. Yeah, literally did I know I was growing. Yah,
- 52:06Speaker 1: I was figuring out something I enjoy. But I stopped
- 52:09Speaker 1: doing it. Yeah, I put the camera in the drawer.
- 52:11Speaker 1: I still have that camera. You do what camera? What cameras?
- 52:14Speaker 1: It's like a sony something. Yeah, it's actually kind of
- 52:18Speaker 1: a shit camera. But it was good for Yeah, you're
- 52:20Speaker 1: only just studying. Yeah, but you stopped because of obviously
- 52:24Speaker 1: other reasons influenced it, but external partners. That was the
- 52:27Speaker 1: only reason. I mean, to be fair, if I really
- 52:32Speaker 1: really wanted to do it, I guess I would have
- 52:33Speaker 1: kept doing it and her opinion would have meant nothing. Yeah,
- 52:35Speaker 1: but it did mean something because I was with her.
- 52:37Speaker 1: I was dating her exactly. So the next class half
- 52:39Speaker 1: full perspective is you potentially can have higher standards since
- 52:45Speaker 1: you haven't settled with anyone. You can set intentionally higher
- 52:48Speaker 1: standards because you have no starting point. I actually liked
- 52:52Speaker 1: that you have nothing to compare to.
- 52:53Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 52:54Speaker 1: Actually you can get experience through your friends a yeah,
- 52:57Speaker 1: fuck them. You don't need anyone learn from all your
- 52:59Speaker 1: failing legit like take it as experienced. Yeah, literally, and honestly,
- 53:05Speaker 1: very very very lucky. If some people were in the
- 53:08Speaker 1: position where they fell in love with their first love.
- 53:10Speaker 1: But like majority of people do, have to go through
- 53:14Speaker 1: the motions and figure out what they like and don't
- 53:16Speaker 1: like and break a couple of hearts. It just happens,
- 53:18Speaker 1: that's what life is. But you have the opportunity to
- 53:21Speaker 1: learn from everyone else and then take everything you learn
- 53:24Speaker 1: into the first person and have the highest standards ever. Yep, Okay.
- 53:28Speaker 1: The next one is you have independence and confidence. You've
- 53:32Speaker 1: learned how to be happy on your own, which means
- 53:34Speaker 1: any future relationships you will choose will not need your partner.
- 53:38Speaker 1: It will be a choice as bro. Yeah, and I
- 53:41Speaker 1: feel like growing up because everyone, even in school, you
- 53:43Speaker 1: like as a boy, as a male. I'm sure girls
- 53:45Speaker 1: have a similar sort of analogy. You're like, I just
- 53:47Speaker 1: want to kiss a girl, Like I haven't got my
- 53:49Speaker 1: first kiss, Jake, I want to cook up with a girl.
- 53:51Speaker 1: I remember really wanting that first kiss. Yeah, you're all
- 53:54Speaker 1: in a rush, but I'm looking back at it now
- 53:57Speaker 1: like there's no rush at all. Like being independent, confident
- 54:00Speaker 1: in yourself is so much more valuable than a first kiss,
- 54:03Speaker 1: first route, first love. Root is the craziest word I
- 54:08Speaker 1: mean sex to anyone Australian. When we had the girls
- 54:12Speaker 1: bathroom on They asked us, like, how we talk about sex?
- 54:14Speaker 1: We didn't say root, Yeah, that's such an Australian thing,
- 54:18Speaker 1: or we missed there, we missed the terrible. The next
- 54:24Speaker 1: one is non toxic relationship patterns. Many people fall into
- 54:28Speaker 1: unhealthy relationship cycles. Since you're starting fresh, you can build
- 54:31Speaker 1: healthy habits from the beginning. Love it, same sort of premise. Okay,
- 54:35Speaker 1: The next one more time for friendships and passions. Without
- 54:39Speaker 1: relationship distractions, You've likely to developed deep friendships and pursuits
- 54:45Speaker 1: about things you've loved because you've got so much more
- 54:47Speaker 1: time for yourself. I actually will second that, because when
- 54:51Speaker 1: you start dating someone, it's the best thing. Like it
- 54:54Speaker 1: is good, right, it feels amazing, It genuinely feels amazing.
- 54:57Speaker 1: But it is a time consuming thing. Yeah, and they
- 55:01Speaker 1: are they literally right before your eyes, become like your
- 55:04Speaker 1: best friend one hundred percent. And so then all of
- 55:06Speaker 1: your friends still your friends, still your best friends, right,
- 55:10Speaker 1: but they do get slightly put on the back burner
- 55:12Speaker 1: a bit.
- 55:12Speaker 4: Yeah, family, everyone, because this, like the feeling is it's yeah.
- 55:17Speaker 1: And I think the best time to get into a
- 55:18Speaker 1: relationship is when you've experienced everything of life. Your independence,
- 55:23Speaker 1: you're confident in yourself, and then you come into the
- 55:25Speaker 1: relationship at this really good point where you don't miss
- 55:30Speaker 1: any of that. You haven't you don't have this what
- 55:32Speaker 1: if in the back of your head facts. The next
- 55:34Speaker 1: one is Jake's sort of mentioned it. No emotional baggage,
- 55:38Speaker 1: you don't carry any past relationship drama, heartbreak, trust issues,
- 55:43Speaker 1: and you have a great point to start a future relationship. Yeah.
- 55:46Speaker 1: I love that, which is a harsh reality of dating,
- 55:48Speaker 1: because that's what happens a lot of people, like two
- 55:51Speaker 1: people intertwining and dating each other. It's just like it's
- 55:54Speaker 1: always going to come with something like bad out of it. No,
- 55:57Speaker 1: I agree.
- 55:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 55:59Speaker 1: And my last one is excitement for the future. Your
- 56:03Speaker 1: first relationship, whenever it happens, will be new and exciting
- 56:07Speaker 1: and you get to experience it without any baggage and
- 56:10Speaker 1: nothing getting in the way. Ah. I like that. Ay, Yeah,
- 56:14Speaker 1: that's I like that. Like that topic for Glass Artful.
- 56:17Speaker 1: Thank you very that's a good topic, thank you very much.
- 56:19Speaker 1: And I wanted to say, obviously, anyone who's in a relationship,
- 56:24Speaker 1: like don't take any bad offense to that, because everyone's
- 56:28Speaker 1: journey to finding love or getting a root. Having sex
- 56:33Speaker 1: is uniquely yours and you can do it in which
- 56:34Speaker 1: other way you see fit. But for anyone who is
- 56:37Speaker 1: single never had or experience anything like that, embrace it.
- 56:41Speaker 1: It's a gift in its own way. And looking back
- 56:44Speaker 1: at like any of my previous relationships, I wouldn't change it.
- 56:47Speaker 1: But if I took the time and didn't have this
- 56:50Speaker 1: little urge to get with a girl, kiss a girl,
- 56:53Speaker 1: do anything like that, because that's what society thinks you
- 56:56Speaker 1: should do. I remember when eight nine, and it is
- 56:57Speaker 1: the stupidest thing ever. We all cared about body like
- 57:00Speaker 1: I've had three bodies, how many of you add? La la,
- 57:03Speaker 1: la la, and maturing a little bit and growing like
- 57:08Speaker 1: being so confident independent in yourself is the best thing
- 57:12Speaker 1: ever and more valuable than any root ever.
- 57:14Speaker 4: Yeah facts, I mean, yeah, anyone that's in a relationship,
- 57:18Speaker 4: don't take offense to it.
- 57:19Speaker 1: Yeah I was.
- 57:20Speaker 4: I dated people all through high school and it's just
- 57:23Speaker 4: so happened. It's just the way I did it.
- 57:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I wouldn't change it is what it is, Yeah, exactly.
- 57:27Speaker 1: So that was Class half one.
- 57:34Speaker 4: All right, everybody, thank you very much for listening. That
- 57:38Speaker 4: was a very fun episode. We are going to call
- 57:40Speaker 4: one of the lovely baddies today. We are calling Harmony.
- 57:43Speaker 4: Let's do it, h Harmony.
- 57:48Speaker 1: It's Jake and ODDI from the Relatables. How are you
- 57:52Speaker 1: Jake and ODDI from the Relatables? Oh my god, Hi,
- 57:58Speaker 1: how's it going?
- 58:00Speaker 3: The hell?
- 58:00Speaker 1: Are you good?
- 58:02Speaker 5: I'm just at work, currently.
- 58:05Speaker 4: Currently at works. Sorry, sorry to bother. We wanted you
- 58:07Speaker 4: to sign off the episode for us today.
- 58:10Speaker 1: Put you on the sport. How do you want me
- 58:13Speaker 1: to start it? You can sign it off so you
- 58:16Speaker 1: can give some advice if you want to spit some facts.
- 58:19Speaker 1: So if you just want to say, stay bad, whatever
- 58:21Speaker 1: you think.
- 58:23Speaker 5: Ah, here's some advice. Get into a good work environment
- 58:27Speaker 5: before you lose your mind go crazy.
- 58:31Speaker 1: That's some good advice. Thanks so much. Honestly, that's good.
- 58:36Speaker 1: That's great. Have a good day. So yaya, what a legend?
- 58:41Speaker 1: Stay mad? Oh that's weird. You're still here again? You're
- 58:56Speaker 1: still here? Ah, you must be a real baddie.
- 59:00Speaker 4: Well, this is what happened last week on Patreon Enjoy
- 59:04Speaker 4: coming up on relatables Patreon.
- 59:06Speaker 1: Oh, I like who we get these one dilemmas? Boys?
- 59:09Speaker 1: Your resident baddie here help? So my ex and I
- 59:13Speaker 1: broke up two months ago. I loved him, but he
- 59:15Speaker 1: was dealing with too much and he felt he had
- 59:17Speaker 1: no choice but to walk away. Now suddenly lazy, I
- 59:20Speaker 1: don't know he's going through. I feel this overwhelming urge
- 59:24Speaker 1: to reach out to my guy best friend. She calls
- 59:27Speaker 1: it GBF the whole time, so I'm going to use
- 59:29Speaker 1: that again. Let me break it down. At the end
- 59:32Speaker 1: of twenty twenty three, I was talking to a guy.
- 59:35Speaker 1: It got serious. I knew that if I pursued that relationship,
- 59:38Speaker 1: I couldn't keep my friendship with my GBF, who, by
- 59:42Speaker 1: the way, I low key had a crush on. Oh okay,
- 59:44Speaker 1: here we go. No, no, no, she was actually really healthy.
- 59:47Speaker 1: So like a mature queen, I met up with my GBF,
- 59:50Speaker 1: admitted my feelings and told him we should stop talking,
- 59:53Speaker 1: and then plot twists. He hits me with in quotes,
- 59:58Speaker 1: I have feelings for you, dude, don't deliver it like that. Okay,
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: but it didn't end there. He basically told me I
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: had to choose him or the other guy. Fair and
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: as much as it shadowed me, I knew my GBF
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: wasn't mature enough, nor someone my family would ever accept
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: of So I chose the other guy fair heart broken.
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: Fast forward to relationships later, and my mind still drifts
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: back to my GBF. No matter what I do, I
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: can't shake him. Now. He is my dilemma. Would it
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: be totally out of line to reach out just for closure?
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: I don't want a relationship, I just want to see him,
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: But I also know I don't need to see him,
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: And with my big solo Europe trips planned in three months,
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: I might need to stay single. But why can't I
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: stop thinking about him? Love you guys, the bits you've
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: been a breath of fresh air during this break up recovery,
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: help a battie out. I think that the reason your
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: brain keeps coming back is because it was an ultimatum
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: and you were forced to make a choice.
- 1:01:04Speaker 4: Yes, not because you made a choice just on your own.
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: So I think it's kind of just like you know,
- 1:01:12Speaker 4: your your pinky toe was still in that door the whole.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: Time, A little bit. Yeah you didn't go full balls deep, Yeah, yeah,
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: well overies deep into the fucking I was gonna say, though,
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: she said closure, but what do you need closure? For
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: closure mean ball deep in her? Yeah, I'm just going
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: to say what is close, So closure is a conversation
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: with him, which I don't see getting anywhere. But also,
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: because you're single, why can't she sleep with him? Yeah,
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: that's initially I was thinking of a little toxic like
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: just fuck it, hit him up, sleep with him for
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: a couple of months, and then go to Europe single.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: Proove's right, Yeah, like you're not best friendly. Yeah, honestly,
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: and I don't see anything wrong with sleeping with him.
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: S
