A tragic drowning claimed the life of 51-year-old Romail Dontail Allen near Crystal Lake’s Willamette River Sunday morning. Found without a life jacket, he was pulled from the water near Michael’s Landing after 12 PM, and later pronounced dead. Authorities are urging everyone near water to wear life jackets — even strong swimmers can’t always escape danger. Benton County residents can borrow free life jackets at local park stations.
